Well that can’t and won’t happen, why? Well because if it did then overnight the transfer market would be over, it would mean that any player could just pay off their contracts and the good ones simply wouldn’t sign one, what would be the point, they may as well just sign 12 month deals, it would screw over teams like Barca proper, it would equalise the transfer market by taking away the advantage the big teams have.
For instance, if Cesc was worth say £80mil to Arsenal, but his contract was £25mil, you see where I’m going with this? It would mean that Fabregas’s name would go into history like Bosman, people would say he’s gone on a Fabregas. That would make Cesc proud don’t you think? Best player in the world to scumbag that screwed over the transfer market, hmmm, interesting legacy!
We could then go and buy Kaka for a similar amount.
Now the silence is deafening and I still think he’ll stay and we will buy some quality players, but to be honest, I, just like a lot of you am remembering the Paddy Vieira days of will he? won’t he and it’s beginning to irritate me.

It doesn’t convince me though, the story being broken by the Mirror bloke at 11pm, mail 10pm, makes me thing that one of the tabloids reported it, probably someone with less links to the club than John Cross, and the late night web people just copied the story, but tomorrow the sports people, or john cross will wake up and say that it isn’t true, or certainly far from certain.

4-4-2 doesnt suit any of our players anymore. Diaby, Song, Cesc, Arshavin, Theo…none of them can play in a 4 man midfield, certainly not to their full potential.
Nasri and Rosicky are debatable ones though, for the left midfield position.
Agreed Stu, not to mention that more or less all teams play three men in central midfield, so noone would play 4-4-2 now as we used to or you’d just be dominated in the middle of the park

Well they will get a game. The reason being that Song and Denilson are defensive players and Diaby is used for his size to help dominate the more physical teams (whether or not it works out that way is irrelevant right now).
There is no chance that either of those 3 would lose their spot (as defensive players) to attackers.

That city game, David, was where the rain began to beat us. I think Ade had a psychological advantage over our players and was on fire that day. He messed up with their brains. And Wenger should have thought about that and double marked him.. talk about a manager being tactless. Our defense and wingbacks plus the keeper were a sorry sight. We rallied later but it was too late. That day was an important day as it was the marker day for bottling.. From Wenger to the boys.

Cole is a done deal and will happily wager with anyone who thinks otherwise. It is also 95% Cesc will leave for around 42m. The source for the first story is 100%, Cesc I am a tad more dubious about but we shall see. Now my opinion is that he will add at least 1 centreback and 1 more midfielder if Cesc leaves, it is as they say shit or bust for Wenger this year.
