Say something Arsenal, upsetting your fans is not big and its not clever.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

We are now into the third day of the Cesc saga and still no word from Arsenal, I find it amazing, all it would take is a denial that Cesc said anything, or a ‘we are in talks with Barca’ or something, but as usual our club treats its fans with the same disdain that it treats the domestic cups.

If Cesc wants to go, then tell him he can’t as he signed a big contract, then shove him in the stiffs for a year. We don’t need the money as we won’t spend it anyway, if you want more proof of that, then ask Cesc, that’s why he wants out. If, of course he does!

It will also tell all the other players that Ivan was boasting about signing long term contracts, that they can’t leave when they feel like it.

We bang on about financial prudence all the time and how we should run the club like a business, then we pay massive wages on long term contracts and let players leave when they feel like it, well that’s not financial prudence, that’s bad business.

We now find out that Barca are £450mil in debt, but we aren’t, if we don’t watch it we’ll be the only team left in Europe not in debt, so who will we play? Ourselves? Think about that!

I’m not asking Arsenal to go into debt, just to spend some of the budget our spanking new stadium generates, not to mention prize money or sponsorship. We can’t afford £80million for Ronaldo, but spending £8million on Shay Given wouldn’t have turned us into Portsmouth and we may have won something, get my drift?

I have to say that I don’t want to keep a player that wants to play for another club and supports Barcelona. On the other hand if he hasn’t said any of this then sue the person who started this and come out and tell us he didn’t say it. We went through years of this same crap with Vieira, Henry and Hleb, it’s not fair on the fans. It doesn’t seem to happen to other teams.

Makes you wonder why no one is tapping up Denilson, Silvestre, Fabianski or Almunia??? Yes, I know, I did just light the fuse!

If Wenger decides to leave our great club after finally admitting his project has failed, I wonder if some of our stalker sites will follow him to his next club, all they talk about these days is us and our Grovers because we dare to be unhappy with the way our club is being run, that spending no money is good and that success is for plastics and real fans are happy with winning nothing.

Blog nerds, all of them, if all they have to talk about is us, then they have nothing to talk about, it’s a bit like anti-hero worship, sad really, but in a bizarre way, a little flattering!

Onto today, we must at some point unveil Chamakh, players signing on free transfers can go public months before the window opens, so why do Arsenal always take so long to give us good news, Vermaelen and Nasri took for ever, I hope we sign new players sooner rather than later, though I wouldn’t want to get in the way of Arsene’s summer job commentating for French TV at the world cup.

Let’s sign some named players, no unknowns, and don’t tell me Vermaelen was an unknown, he plays for Belgium and he was captain of Ajax.

Have a great day Grovers, today could be news day.

In fact a sad morning for us all here. There’s been a horror of a plane accident. My colleague has gone as volunteer in the hospital, where the bodies are to be handed over to the relatives. He called to say scene is heart-wrenching.

Yes, I work in Mangalore, and yes, Sabeel WAS in Bangalore when we last heard from him.

    NK,

A girl who works for a private airline and was to leave half an hour later said the same thing. Things happened so fast. The plane landed, went past every one and crashed. It has been like a eerie dream thereafter.

    Morning all,
Here Devon way, the sun is shining, the Atlantic rollers lick the shores, beach barbie beckons and I have to go to London for a friggin christening.

Why, in the name of all that’s holy, would people want Barca-badge-kissing-lightweight-no-goal-scoring-lightweight-Hleb back?

  7. MickyDidIt89

Don’t know about anyone else, but all this Cesc talk almost makes me want him to go, as in my mind’s eye, I am spending all that money on shiny new players.
Trouble is, I know we already have the money to both keep him AND spend.
I think Chamakh will be a star player.

I really don’t think Cesc will leave. Thats just my gut feeling, but he won’t commit yet till le Prof has made some more big signings. So get the wad of dosh out again mon ami, like the Karen Carpenter once said “You’ve only just begun”.

Australians really love their sporting teams. An estimated 40,000 will be in South Africa for the World Cup, & its seen as a girls game here by most.

Tonight over 70,000 will be @ the “G” to see my team & we haven’t won a game yet ;)

  15. gnarleygeorge9

Now that The Arsenal has added Chamakh with Little Nicky  shouldn’t we be signing some wing wizards ;)

Gnarley: check out his violin concerto. That will bring tears to your sensitive eyes. Then pop on some early Clash live, and you will be ready for action!

Seeing Richmond lose their 13th straight game tonight will bring tears to my eyes as well MDI89 :(
