I’m hugely disappointed with the way this season has panned out. I was hoping for a strong finish from our first team and to hopefully finish within a few points of the top two teams. Instead, we’ve blown chance after chance and we’re stuttering to a slightly improved finish on last year.
Like I said yesterday, Wenger can’t perform his usual trick of fielding loads of exciting kids in the last few games to get the world excited about project youth. He does that at the end of most seasons and the AKB’s use those kids as the reason he didn’t buy in the summer.
This season, we’ve got third place to win before such tactics can be employed.
I’ve been pretty disappointed that we haven’t seen more of Carlos Vela this year. If he reminded Wenger of Robbie Fowler before Christmas, surely he should have been given a run in the team? Denilson reminded me of a unfit crab before Christmas and he seems to get a good go in the team more often than not.
I’d have liked to have seen more of Fran Merida. He’s off to Madrid because he wants to play football. Why not stay here? Well, he seems to have gotten the Carlos treatment this year. Genuine talent, no games. I can’t understand Wenger’s mindset? I bet it’ll be the same with Jack Wilshere next year.
So what makes Gooners think Wenger is going to splash the cash this summer? The AKB’s have the same faith as the realists every year that Wenger will strengthen where necessary.Here’s how I reckon it’ll pan out…
We get till the end of July… no signings (Bar Chamakh who we’ll be told actually cost us £10mill in wages because salary comes out of our £2mill transfer budget).

That’s a lot of dross that probably won’t leave. If we shifted them and signed some mid range hungry replacements, we’d be in a good position to compete… however… Wenger has got his excuse for this year already… World Cup inflation!
Our experienced players are too sloppy and our younger players don’t have the drive. Wenger should stop fantasising about the average age of his squad. He says he doesn’t look at a passport when he signs a player… well, we know he certainly looks at the birth certificate. Here’s an idea, why not look at their injury record and why not look at their quality?

Does the set up need a fresh eyes approach? You can’t be a revolutionary for ever, can you? Does someone need to make a big decision at board level? Barca are so fucking good at it though that they are the only ones I see who can potentially beat it….I have seen some teams try against Barca but the Narca players play some quick one twos and beat the traps…they are so intuned with each other that they make blind sideways and backwards passes and their teamates are there 90% of the time to collect the ball…they have amazing understanding
True Ja but when they were under pressure and needed to score V us Ireland in qualiifers which I seen both legs they reverted to 4-3-3, the only thing that will hold back this France team is Domenech. They have simularities to the team that won in 98 whilst Henry is getting old, his experience will be invaluable ala LeBlanc and Dessaily in 98.
Henry is not yet a spent force and will go out with a bang.

i feel wenger has big mistake not giving merida and vela more playing time i know for afact that merida is alot better delinson.i think diaby and nasri all round has played quite over whole season but the problem is there so few top players in the team these players cant afford have single off game because there is no one else to step up,there is know people say that players like carrick schols giggs lambard maluda dragba have had a bad few games here and there of course they have but there have more depth to there team and 1-2 players have bad day there is always someone else who will step up in there place but this team are in that position.the statement that eboue is to old to play back up i dont agree with at all he is an experienced up and good utility player.

Now although, I think we have a great manager, I think his pride sometimes gets in the way of us having the right squad and winning competing. I think it is a key point that we are NOT competing anymore, let alone winning anything. We were only really in the title race because the other two have slipped up. So how do we (Arsenals customers) change the way the manager works? We can’t vote with our feet because that would have a detrimental effect on the club that we all love. But, we are all speaking with the same voice and need to do something.. Any ideas? Perhaps petitions? Or something similar? Perhaps boycotting the last few games of the season? One of which is Arshavin. i think he is super talented but being shoved out left does not suit him. Sure his brilliance will eventually shine with a moment of pure magic, but he does not contribute to the overall team performance as much as I would like.

RVP in our team to November we average 3 goals a game. Afet he is out, we drop to under 2. We need someone prolific to pick up the slack.
Choy I dont agree to move Chamkh central and RVP wide. We underestimate just how chances RVP creates from a central position, even if he doesn’t score for himself sometimes.

Gallas is way past his best and he has become an emotional welfare case. He cant hold himself together let alone the back four. Not only that but his legs have gone and I have seen a number of very clumsy tackles from him this year that should have resulted in penalties for the opposition.
By Gallas going, it ensures that Wenger should spend big on a partner for Vermaelen. We need to improve defensively and in my mind that means replacing both Gallas and Almunia who are in my mind the weak links. We also need back up for Song, as we simply have no cover.
Love him or hate him, Mourinho is the best manager in the world atm.
Still don’t want him and neither do most United fans I know. There is a thing called tradition, and Mourinho would make Arsenal or United much more defensive.

19 players overall, but no-one that would be missed. We would raise over £40m as well.

If you had to pick the best player out of Arshavin and Bellamy, you would probably pick Arshavin 99 times out of 100.

We had the workrate to match Barca in the first few games of the season. But that stopped and only Wenger knows why.
