Injuries – Bad luck or bad management?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Well, we’re at that stage of the season again when the size of your squad and the intelligence of your forward planning comes to fruition.

Problem is, it seem we’re back where we always are, in an injury nightmare. So, it’s time to ask the question. Is it bad luck or is it bad management?

Lets investigate…

  • RvP: Impact injury whilst away on international duty.
  • Rambo: Impact injury against a scum bag thug.
  • Cesc: Impact injury against a 70′s porn star.
  • Nasri: Break (Last season)

So straight off you could say that is an outrageous amount of bad luck. 3 breaks in a year is definitely not the norm.

However, with the bad luck, I feel there has also been some poor management. I don’t believe in coincidence. If you have one bad year, you could let it go. If you have two, you’re pushing it… but if your staple excuse is injuries, you’ve got to address what’s happening.

  • Denilson: Stress fracture to the lower back caused by over training.
  • Gallas: Notorious for missing large chunks of the season, rushed back from injury. Collapsed before half time.
  • JD: Always injured. We’re aware, yet still count him as one of our 4 centre backs.
  • Arshavin: Rumoured to be semi fit going into the Barca game, out of the game within 25 minutes. To be fair, I don’t think he’s got it in him to be anything other than half fit.
  • Diaby: Rarely strings more than 4 games together.
  • Rosicky: Brittle body syndrome.
  • Eduardo: Hasn’t recovered his fitness in a year.
  • Theo: Injured more often than not.

So if a fan who has a full time job doing something else can spot the flaws in our system, why can’t Arsenal? Why are we now struggling to field a team capable of competing with Barcelona? Why didn’t we buy  a decent back up centre back in the summer when we knew JD was out for a year?

Why doesn’t Arsene just equip the squad with an amount of players that could cover a crisis? It makes no sense. Wenger is intent on making it hard on himself which for me makes him look like a bad planner and opens him up to criticism. If he’d addressed this problem years ago, he’d probably have more trophies under the belt. Generally when we win a title, we’ve had a lucky season with the sick list…

Onto today, Sol Campbell is dropping to the back to partner Vermaelen. We don’t have many other options! Hopefully Wolves wont be too much of an exertion for him and he’ll be able to play against Barca on Tuesday. Rosicky will probably cover Nasri’s wide slot with the Frenchman taking the steering wheel in the middle. I’d hope there is a place for Theo and Eboue this week. They certainly deserve one!

I’m not sure I’m too fussed what happens today as long as 3 points is returned! I think we’ll destroy them and lets be fair, we need to do something with our decidedly weak goal difference. I’m hoping for a walloping! If you’re there today, make sure you sing loud  and proud… we’ve got to win the next 6 and the 12th man will help pull us through!

Have a great day Grovers!

MG, oh right, sorry, wasn’t expecting your delayed reaction!!!!!

I think it is fair to blame AW for not buying a CB when he knew JD would be out. Some of the other criticism is a bit OTT when you consider the shit luck we have had with knocks.

Watching Edu today was quite sad really. He will get a good rest this summer and a good pre season, but he has to show next season he can come good again. If it was another player who was putting in performances like him, the fans would slaughter him.

  2. GoonerJohn

They could get trashed by bayern on wednesday, no shrek to save them :)
Neville looked short for pace against ribery last time, let’s see what he does on the 2nd leg.
Robben is back also, he will be difficult to handle.

  3. Jaguar

Manures lost by 1 goal at home without Rooney. Our full strength team was thrashed by Chelski. Some mugs disappear after a draw and come back ranting about the senile French pied piper Wenger, only when we have won.

  4. ManGoonian

    Zorro;

Jaguar is a warped little boy, he serves a purpose on here though, he makes ethan look less crackers!

  5. ManGoonian

Oh, did you miss me Jaguar??? Is that was this is all about? You have feelings for me… Awww, I am touched, not as touched as you though!

  6. David

    Mayank

Utd ONLY know how to play from the wings…thats what Valencia/Micheal Jackson/Giggs are for.

Even that ugly scarecrow fletcher drifts to the wings for a cross.

I see them dropping points in the next 3 games.

  7. David

    Lol

    Jaguar

You make a strong point there.

We didnt see some certain people we are seeing now after that fuck up at Birmingham

  8. Zorr0

MG, yes mate. What a night! AFC certainly know how to put you through the ringer, always reminds me of Clive Owen in The Bourne Identity; “Look what they make you give…”

  9. ManGoonian

    Zorro;

It was effin brilliant wasnt it!!! The atmosphere was blinding! I was right above the goal we scored in…. Unreal!

    David;

Why would people avoid coming on here after a draw? I dont get it? I know we get a few doomers who only appear after we lose or drop points, but I dont see people disapearing when we get a draw away from home vs a team who are solid as fook at home…

    Weird…

  10. gazzap

Wenger got the team selection spot on today. He had to rest Diaby, Nasri and Bendtner. No way can they be expected to chase barca players on tuesday without a rest, and then do something creative when they do finally get the ball. The players who played were a bit rusty – Eduardo, silvestre, Rosicky even Eboue who played on the left to be fair. Wenger was right to assume that the players he picked should have been enough to win comfortably.
Also Wolves did defend extremely well at times, and we missed chances. so it ended uo being a really tough game. dont forget Wolves are one of the form teams right now.

so Barca will be missing Ibra, plus their centre backs and possibly iniesta – I think we have a chance albeit a slim one.

I put our chances of winning each of the PL and CL at between 10 and 20 per cent. Even if we win all 5 remaining PL games, we still might not have enough. the chavs would need to drop 4 points, and right now I cant see them dropping any more points.

so I think we can name 10 of the 11 starters on Tuesday.
    Almunia
    Sagna
    Sol
    Verm
    Clichy
    Song
    Diaby
    Nasri
    Eboue
    Bendtner

Who is the final player? Vela? Super-sub Theo? Denilson? Rosicky? Probably Theo but I would save him until 30 to go, and would start Vela, who should be fresh having only played 10 minutes today. Wenger may start Den, but then where does Nasri play?

  11. Zorr0

lol MG, I wonder who David is alluding to?????

Mind you, have to cut him some slack as he obviously will not be in a very good mood tonight.

  12. Jaguar

Okay.I am a doomer. But I am here after every match unlike some mugs.

My stance has always been the same.If you missed it,I will repeat it.

‘We wont win anything anymore with that senile French manager of ours,Mr.Wenger’.

  13. Zorr0

Vela? At the Nou Camp? I might as well play; at least I’ve got two feet!

Was Ibra injured tonight pre match. If Iniesta made the bench he will make the team on Tues maybe.

  14. ManGoonian

    gazzap;

Hahaha! He must be fuming! bendy scoring yet another vital goal!!!

    gazzap;

The way that Braca play such a high line and will be missing their 1st choice CBs, then vela or Theo could do the job… I would love vela to play a blinder…

  15. el tel

I am glad we got that last minute goal instead of thrashing the cunts as they thought they got away with it.

The keeper was time wasting after 15 minutes, he wiped his nude nut with the blue towel then kept taking goal kicks from the opposite side to where the ball went out, he was also taking ages with each kick. The silly cunt then punted it straight down our end to nobody.

There was a tosser who with about 5 minutes left who went to take a throw in, the ballboy gave him the ball then he headed back to him, the ballboy gave it to him again then he chested it back to the ballboy. The wanker should have been carded.

Coco the Clown wasn’t any better though, did anyone see him kick the ball sideways for a throw on the edge of our box. Silly Tapas bar waiter prick.

We would have killed them today if we had a decent striker but how long has people on here been moaning about this. When will a striker make a run to the near post when Theo fires the ball in?

I get frustrated seeing some half decent crosses coming in without our forward making a challenge.

Super Nik did run across the goal and met the Sagna cross with a decent header and guess what happened? Yes we scored. Nikki also went in on the Keeper to an high one. Well done Nikki at least the fucking Oppo keeper had to think about it.

Have faith people. I am not an AKB but how can you blame him for this. Wouldn’t most of you have played a weaker side today seeing as we played the mighty Wolves.

Lots of people were saying we would thrash them so why then moan when we tried to just beat them with a weaker team. I still believe we can beat Barca even if the majority don’t and I would love that gold star on my 70s replica home shirt next season.

This is and always has been The Arsenals way of winning things, we rarely do it easily. Check out the History.

  16. Zorr0

Jag, it’s not just you are a doomer, it’s that you never change your fucking tune! It is just sooooooooo
    boring.

You don’t really get too many people come on and go on about how great AW is and how rosy things are, so why do you feel the need to do it from the other end of the scale?

  17. patthegooner

I think I have just about recovered from the game today now.

Jesus Arsenal put you through it dont though.

To be honest, apart from the final 3rd, it was not a bad performance at all.

I still think Wenger got it wrong. I say wrong, but he gambled and it came off so is that wrong? god knows. It shows the fine line between success and failure though. We were 30 seconds away from ending our title challenge and having one miserable blog here tonight.

Either way I am delighted with the result. I think I would have preferred the other game to be a draw but at least with 5 games to go, we are in with a shout. I would never have believed that in August.

We have to win all remaining games to do it though. Chavski might drop points, but not enough to give ourself any comfort zone in our matches. We need to beat both the Spuds away and Man Shitty at home.

  18. gazzap

I just dont want wenger to use song at centre back instead of sol. taking song out of the midfield really reduces the effectiveness in the middle and I dont rate him that highly as a centre back. sol reads the game better and definitely gets stuck in. Also thats another proper defender to defend set pieces. If we use Den then we are losing a body in defence.

But i can see wenger doing that and using den and diaby as the midfield shield.

Zorr0 – Vela really isn’t that bad, I think you are being too harsh. As a left winger he is superb. when he has started as a centre forward, he has been terrible. he needs to be used on the left without question.

  19. Zorr0

Unfortunately the chavs look very much like the boring automatons of the special one variety and I cannot see them dropping 4 points in the next 5 games so I think the gig is up. Having taken 12 points from manure and us I suppose you have to say fair enough.

Still, maybe the bindippers could do us a favour!

  20. ManGoonian

    el tel;

I agree, we always do it the hard way too!

    pattg;

As gazzap aleady said, we had to rest a few players today and after Weds nights excertions a hangover was always likely.

    gazzap;

I really hope Song is played midfield too fella, with Sol in the backline. Given we dont play again til a week weds, then I dont see any problem with that…

  21. el tel

I watched 20 ins of the Scummers x2 match and can’t see what Ole Red nose has to complain about.

Scholes commited 4 Red card type fouls with only a yellow to show after the 4th foul. Park dived in the box and threw a wobbly when nothing given. Annelka was assaulted by Neville the Gangster.

I guess he moaned because they don’t expect any other side to get a decision against them.

They are the most Pony side I have witnessed that could win the League and have been for 3 years. Even when the Fat saviour of Engerland plays they are average.

I have always believed they play with 14 men.

  22. Zorr0

Sorry Gaz, just don’t see it with him, one decent cross to Edu at west ham does not mean he can be the next Ribery. But respect your opinion.

I would love him to make it, just can’t see him doing it in the EPL. Maybe off load him and get Hazard in.

  23. gazzap

It doesn’t bode well that Sol played 90 today though with what wenger was saying about playing twice in 3/4 days. I just hope he can play even if he is a bit stiff. We need him.

Also I didn’t like that Eboue on the left wing experiment at all. I really hope wenger doesn’t do that on Tuesday. Eboue to start on the right, Theo to come on later. Rosicky could play left but he also played 90 today, and he is an old man too – thats why i would like Vela, but it wont happen.

  24. el tel

If we need to win against Fulham to win the title over the Chavs how many think they would throw the game?

  25. gazzap

Zoor0 – the problem vela has is that there are a few other players at the club who are picked before him on the left – the main one being Arshavin, but also Nasri and Rosicky get games there before Vela is considered (heck even Eboue today). so he gets the odd game at centre forward and as I said before, I dont rate him at CF. the PL just swallows him up, the defenders are too overpowering when we play with a 5 foot 7 lone CF.

  26. zeus

Don’t think its necessarily a good thing that Ibra misses the game. Sol will have to play and it suits us that Ibra slows down the build up.

This means Henry will start in the CF position while Iniesta will have to go wide left. The further he plays away from Xavi the better it is for us IMO.

All in all it will be a big ask, but we have done it with our backs to the wall before and our never say die (ironically English Passion) that we have got going this season may give us a chance.

Nasri has to be Zidane like that is for sure and we have to score first.

  27. alex

Super Nik Bendtner Since taking over the CF spot from Arshavin in RVP’s absence, his record stands as follows:

    ================================================================

1-0 vs Liverpool – smart layoff to Rosicky to cross for Diaby’s winning goal

    1-2 vs Porto – N/A

2-0 vs Sunderland – opening goal

3-1 vs Stoke – equalising goal against Arsenal’s bogey team; won the penalty which turned out to be the winning goal

3-1 vs Burnley – set up Walcott’s winning goal (granted he did miss a few sitters!)

5-0 vs Porto – scored the all-important first 2 goals, sealed the hattrick at the end with a cooly-taken penalty

2-1 vs Hull – set up the opening goal for Arshavin and grabbed a stoppage time winner

2-0 vs West Ham – set up the opening goal for Denilson

    1-1 vs Birmingham – N/A

2-2 vs Barcelona – played a measured defence-splitting pass to Walcott to give Arsenal hope; sealed the comeback by winning the header in the buildup to Fabregas’ penalty

1-0 vs Wolves – BIG, BIG winner in the 4th minute of stoppage time

  28. gazzap

I think we’ll need a goal fairly early on as well. because even if Barca then get two goals, we’ll just need one to take them to extra time. it’ll get edgy, but the away goals thing wont count anymore. then we can either hang on for pens or get a late winner. we mustn’t let them have easy possesion like last week. we stood 15 yards off them, and thats what hurt us. IMO we’ll do a lot better than last week.

  29. incesc

    gazzap

    rosicky has to start

we need his experience and he is twice as effective as vela

    al
    sagna sol vermi clichy

    song
    nasri diaby/denilson

    theo rosicky
    bender

we have to be ready this time. they will come out flying again, thing about us is we only play in the last 10 minutes so we have to still be in it then and we have a chance.

    fuck

barce without fabregas, gallas, arsh and rvp.

    fucking typical

  30. incesc

433 needs to go as well

untill fabs is back and rvp is fit.

without them we are just shooting ourselves in the foot with that formation.

  31. Zorr0

2 options, 1 with and 1 without Sol.

    Imloonia

    Sagna TV Sol Clichy

    Diaby Nasri Song

    Ebway NB Rosicky

    or

If Song plays instead of Sol, then drop Denilson into midfield.

  32. ManGoonian

    incesc;

As long as everyone does their defensive duties, then the 4-3-3 (or 4-2-3-1 or whatever?) can work IMO…

  33. ManGoonian

Sol should be wrapped in cotton wool and placed in the deep freeze till Tuesday night…. He has to play…. And score the winning goal in the 89th minute!!!

  34. ManGoonian

    six pacc;

Did you see the Sky Sports News cringin interview with Shawcross? They basically tried to make out ramsey was a twat for not replying to poor ikkle Shawcross’s text message…

  35. gazzap

I agree with your line up Zorr0. this will be more like a 4-5-1 anyway, not 4-3-3. Eboue and Rosicky would need to work hard to get possession. theo to come on and win it!! please.

  36. sixx pac

How dare he not respond to Ryan. How dare him. Why does he have to bring this up 4 weeks after it has happened. Go back to Wales you twat

  37. ethangunner

    mayank

ill have to call you jaguar soon :)
theo improved 100% since the barca game
    and another 100% today ..

he fed dudu a sitter ..

and fed in half a dozen more …

created almost by himself on most occasions ..

you have to admire his spirit .

    or not :)

  38. David

It is Ironic we score finally on a Sagna cross

When Walcott was the only creative spark in the team.

We were so one-dimensional it wasnt funny.

    Fantastic result people

but a bit of perspective and reality check

    We are still 3rd.

  39. ethangunner

yes i think it was a good personal performance from Theo if he keeps going in this direction soon his confidence will be 100% back and skys the limit …

but im over asking what happened to dudu :)

i simply dont care anymore :)

HE is a waste of space … NOT Theo ..
he could of easily got a brace tonight off the end of theo !

most clinical finisher in the League my ass :)

  40. incesc

    imloonia

    haha

    mangoonian

did ssn really do an interview with shawcross? did he cry and say the immortal line

“im not that kind of guy…”

  41. chris

    I agree with Zorro’s team(s)
I agree with the guys who say Theo doesn’t deserve a slating and on another day
I agree with everyone who said today’s team was a big risk – BUT having said that the top team will play against Barca and then there’s a long break before Spurs, the schedule may be coming out ok win or lose at the Camp Nou (although I really hope we never see today’s team again)
I agree with sixx pack’s comments on Bastard uncaring Ramsey vs poor Ryan
I bloody agree with everyone (possibly except Jaguar obviously)

  42. incesc

i hated the commentary on walcott today

he was constantly dangerous, with a decent striker he would have been 10/10

  43. sixx pac

we are third, only 3 points off the top, 1 behind utd. As i said after the Brum draw last week, i refuse to throw in the towel with 6 matches left for the simple fact that we have been written off so many times yet were still there. And dont spew that bullshit about utd and chelsea screwing up. They lose matches. Period. When we lose you doomers dont say we screwed up, you say we are not good enough.

  44. ManGoonian

    David;

We are in the effin title race fella…. FFS! get with the program dude! We are battling to win the league, with 6 games left…

  45. David

    5 games…we’ve got 5 games left.

Basically this team will go as far as Bendtner will take us.

Some of us have found religion in the process.

  46. incesc

fuck al the negativity on bender

lets cut through all the bullshit and the lucky results

    we arent playing well

    we arent playing like champions

  47. chris

Watching MahnU losing now, with no Rooney and a tough midweek game coming up and only scoring with a Macheda handball

Watching Cech coming for crosses and not getting there

Watching Arsenal score late every week for almost 2 months with a team that has lost Gallas, RvP, Fabregas, with an indifferent keeping situation.

Agree with Mangoonian – you should accept that lots of parts of the team/squad are doing a lot of things right.
Even though we don’t look the strongest of the three, we still have the easiest run in and if Spurs are distracted by other big games and we’ve had a rest and we can pinch the win there then have a look at the table and the run in and tell me we don’t stand a chance, And by the end of nest week we could just possibly be the last English team left in the CL (don’t quote me on that just wait til it actually all goes wrong, that’s all I’m saying)

  48. sixx pac

was utd good enough last year david? Infact, if you wanna use the same logic, you could say that we have screwed up over the past seasons. Just as Chelsea and utd have done this season, we had not played up to our potential the last 4 seasons. Utd didnt win because they were good, they won because we screwed up.

  49. Zorr0

MG, sometimes you spell it Jaguar, others it’s David, but my fave is using the letters k, b and another b.

  50. ManGoonian

Playing like champions? How many late late winners have we scored? Is it 7 wins in the last 8 games?

Why do we always have to lookm for negatives?

I agree with chris, IF we beat the spuds next week, then we have a great chance and yeah, hopefully the spuds will be knackered and distracted from extra time at the heavy Wembley pitch too!!

  51. Keyser

Incesc – we’re playing like classic champions, anything anyone throws st us we get back up again, I know people confuse pesimism fir realism on here but if united had played a Champions league quarter final where against all odds their captain had dragged his team up from the gutter and scored the equaliser with a broken leg we’d be waiting for the film to come out.

You’d probably get Morgan freeman as fergie and matt saman as ferdinand.

  52. Zorr0

David, well, there was Barca away, spurs away then the Wigan game was pretty tight, but the hammering of citeh was quality.

I was worried when we lost at Inter, but the win was enough back home.

Blackburn nearly had us, but NB came through again.

Fulham rolled over really, just to piss off the chavs and well, if you ain’t happy with the win over Bayern then there is no pleasing you!

  53. incesc

did you see campbell when we scored

the man is a serious gooner, walcott as well

man that was good, walcott was great today.

  54. David

So says the super hero Zorr0 with the dark mask…shouldnt you be in some mexican village finding where Arsene Wenger put Carlos Vela?

Id say this is childish…but how bout you go through my comments and see if i misspelled anything for me.

  55. Zorr0

Walcott did more in the first 20 then in most of his previous games added up!

I still think he needs to get his head up and take a picture of who is in the middle sometimes, as it often appears he is just crossing and hoping there is someone there.

  56. ManGoonian

    Oh David;

I truly feel your pain brother…. Life has dealt you a fair few shite cards… The inability to enjoy football and having your sense of humour surgically removed at the age of 12 was well rough on you dude…

    And, it’s misspelt!!! :D

  57. sixx pac

guess you would prefer last season David when we beat Utd, Chelsea and drew with The best team in the land last season, liverpool, twice.

  58. incesc

So says the super hero Zorr0 with the dark mask…shouldnt you be in some mexican village finding where Arsene Wenger put Carlos Vela?

Id say this is childish…but how bout you go through my comments and see if i misspelled anything for me.

    ha ha

    that really made me laugh

    what a comeback

    haha

  59. David

    Thanks MAN-goo

    Duly noted.

    Sixx pac

Its difficult to say i prefer last season…i can go back and chose any of the last 4-5 season if you prefer.

    As i said earlier

Where was our Mexican savior Zorr0 when we drew last week at Birmingham? My guess is he’s a fake.

  60. sixx pac

its difficul David? Meaning you’d have to think about it? Yeah choose a season over the last 4 years thats better than this. 07-08? Less competition and finished 3rd. That season we really did screw up

  61. ManGoonian

Last season was truly disapointing, never felt we were in with a chance of the title and the 2 Cup semi’s never really did it for me… This season however? Fantastic! The team has shown amazing desire, passion, togetherness and not to mention quality and has overcome loads of adversity…

Whatever happens, they have done us proud…

Ooh to, ooh to be, ooh to be a GOONER!!!!

    David;

I havent been on here for a few weeks myself, does that mean I am faking it too???

  62. David

Im a miserable fucker because i said we are 3rd in the league and we should get some perspective?

Oh dear me…I would hate for you to mince your words against Pedro when he writes tomorrow post.

  63. incesc

    mangoonian

in all honesty has this season been fantastic??

we wont win the league or the champions league(jinx)

best games were before xmas… spuds and everton (first game of the season.)

  64. ManGoonian

    David;

Perspective works both ways mate…. You can be overly critical and negative too you know…

And I dont understand this request for perspective either? Who has been saying anything other than it was bloody great to win today? You can bet your arse the fall out on here IF we hadnt have won would have needed some effin perspective!!! :D

It was a vital 3 points, so why shouldnt people go on about it?

  65. David

    Mangooo

You get a free pass with me..you know that…maybe its because of what weve done to Nasri together…but our masked hero here is quite the expert.

  66. David

    Mangoo

    Perspective goes both ways..Agreed.

There is no going both ways about being 3rd though. That is fact.

    Win…lose..Draw…we’d have still been 3rd.

  67. ManGoonian

    incesc;

Yep, fantastic, because we have made a serious challenge this season and a prolonged one too… If you can’t enjoy the ride, then why bother?

Plus the team and players have proved a shit load of twats wrong; pundits, hacks, ex-players and a fair few “fans”…

It has been fun watching these so-called experts having to try and worm their way out of their obituries of AFC…

  68. Zorr0

Expert on misery and pessimism since joining this blog, but hardly surprising how many doom mongers there are available to study.

We win, we still moan. What happened to us getting behind the team until the football is over and open season on AW was declared?

All I know is that it is good that the large majority of fans who turn up and follow the team are not like some of you on here.

    David;

Yep, we are 3rd, 3 points off the top and hoping that we win all our games and that the chavs lose 1 and draw another… Unless we spank the spuds 15 nil!!!

  70. incesc

    if we finish 3rd mangoo

    we havent proved anyone wrong

in your heart of hearts do you see us winning the league?

    10 an wolves

    injuries

i pray we do but we are not playin well at all mate

  71. David

    Awww

    Poor Zorr0

Im not like the fan you want me to be in your little super hero world. Sorry mate…i do feel for you though.

    Mangoo

15-Nil to the Arsenal against the Spurs? I’ll be up and positive for that one!

    UUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!

    OOMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

    hahha

On that note gents…and lady Zorr0

    Im off.

  72. Zorr0

David. Poor responses so I will assume the high ground and wave you off, a bit like we did to Mick McCarthy today. Did you see it?

  73. ManGoonian

    incesc;

Seriously fella, we aint playing well? The chavs were average today, do they care? Nope, its about results mate…

And finishing 3rd, closer to the top than 4th is a massive achievement and would prove a load of doubters wrong, doubters who said we would struggle to finish 4th mate…

And BBK, who bet me £100 that Man City would finish above us!!!

  74. ManGoonian

    We aint playing well???

7 wins and a draw in our last 8 league games, we have hammered Porto and came back from the brink vs the best team in Europe… With a hospital wing full of Arsenal players unavailable!!!

Some perspective is called for I think!

  75. Gooby

both chavski and mans can drop 4 or 5 points in the last 5 games. we just need to deliver champions stuff on the other hand, especially at white shite lane and against the sky chavs

  76. Gooby

    thanks chozze!

3 things i love about that moment:

-the goal from cross to header
    -sol’s celebration
    -the look on mick mccartney

  77. Gooby

mcik mccarthy. didn’t know how to spell that prick’s name.

he fields a reserve at the old toilet to be sure they get royally fucked and gives all three points to the mancs.

    proper spirit.

  78. SharkeySure

ManG – “Plus the team and players have proved a shit load of twats wrong; pundits, hacks, ex-players and a fair few “fans”…

It has been fun watching these so-called experts having to try and worm their way out of their obituries of AFC…”

    Amen to that !!!

I hardly bother to argue the toss with the doomers these days, its pointless. If some of them had any shame they’d acknowledge how wrong they were, but instead I get told that if we’d signed x, y and z we’d be ten points clear already. Lol.

How mad is that..?? We’re fighting for the title and and its stil not enough. It really is win or bust for some people, which I find really odd coming from Arsenal supporters.

Its a kind of wifebeating mentality in my book….this sort of love you-kick you relationship that some fans seem to have.

When a spud starts slating our club, do they join in..??

    Nite all….

    Trolololololololololollllloooollooooo

  79. ManGoonian

It’s an excellent header from Bendy and a fine cross from Sagna too….. But Sol going mental was the icing on the cake!

  80. incesc

“Seriously fella, we aint playing well? The chavs were average today, do they care? Nope, its about results mate…

    chelsea beat villa 7-1

we arent laying well mate, we are getting points but when you win the league you play better football than we are right now

  81. incesc

    look sixx pac

    I love arsenal

i desperately want us to win the league.

cant be bothered to argue anymore

    :)

we arent excactly looking like premiership winners right now. but if we do it i am a happy happy happy happy man.

  82. ManGoonian

    incesc;

We beat Porto 5 nil…. What is your point? You get 3 points for a win, you dont get extra points for playing brilliantly.

You really don’t quite get it do you? It is about grinding out the wins, something we have been doing.

“Teams that win the league play better than we are.”

    Thats nonsense dude, sorry.

The chavs drew 1-1 with Blackburn… What do you make of that then?

Seriously flawed argument you have there.

  83. ManGoonian

We have won 7 out of 8 league games, if that isnt champiuonship form , then fuck knows what is.

This aint Pro Evo soccer fella… When we won the league in 98 we had a lot of nervy dodgy 1-0 victories; Derby at home was a horrible game, and Bolton away too… That was championship winning form though….

  84. incesc

haha i just watched the bendtner goal 5 times in a row

    fucking brilliant

is it vermaaen who runs by the left post celebrating?

i know i run and hot and cold but i love arsenal

    ooh to

    ooh to be

    ooh to be a gooner

  85. AA23

mancs get a 94th mitute winner and it shows grit and determitaion, we get one and we are shit, Wenger is a “french mug” that doesn’t understand football and Wolves were the better side.
    Brilliant.

  86. ManGoonian

    incesc;

I’d never question you being a Gooner mate…. I just think that at this time of the season, ALL that matters is winning…

    David;

We are in the effin title race fella…. FFS! get with the program dude! We are battling to win the league, with 6 games left
    ——————————-
settle down fella ! if we were BATTLING , we wouldnt be resting players For over 2 weeks in the EPL !

    wake up ..

the EPL is the convenient truth !

last nights selections was a bee’s dick away from failure ..

nasri on the bench for 70 minutes and nik ..

you DONT BATTLE ! when you got half your match winners on the bench for the greater part of the game !

    the chev’s face pool
    and ManU face shitty ..

other than that they look to be in for certain points over the other 4 games ..

we on the other hand now have the SPUDS and MAN Shitty .

now the fixtures are loaded in the top 2′s favor …

  88. AA23

Wenger is such a shit manager that every club in football has him down as their number one choice.
Not bad for a senile French mug.
Can’t wait for him to fuck off.

  89. AA23

And yet we are still 3 points from the top Ethan
Season really not going the way most would hope.
I blame the french senile mug and our shit squad.
And that fucking Bendtner is absolute shit
what has that lanky danish cunt done for us lately?

    or

le grove is a place to put your frustrations out there

you take life way to seriously mate

as if on 94 mins today you sat there smoking a cigar knowing we would score. if you dont get the whole emotion of football, one minute you are out of the title race and life is shit, the next you score and its pure ecstacy, fuck off.

    know it all prick

football is all about putting it all on the line.

i started my arsenal obsession when micky thomas scored at anfield, I bet millions of gooners thought it was gone till the last minute.

fuck you if you dont get down when we havent scored on 94 minutes you aint a fucking fan
