Tonight is the battle between La Liga and the Premier league, tonight we go to war!

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Well I was channel hopping for 30 seconds yesterday, as soon as the mancs fluked their usual goal I was channel hopping, that made my mind up, Lyon vs Bordeaux it was.

Well forget the fact that Lyon won, I thought Bordeaux looked the better team, Chamakh in particular impressed me, in fact him versus Hugo Lloris was worth the admission money alone, it got me thinking, wow, if we had bought those two at the start of the season, we’d already have the Premiership in the bag and we’d be favourites tonight.

I also drooled over Gourcuff, pronounced Gor-coooof.

Oh well, old ground, new players and all that, I was envious that someone other than the whole of the EPL had a keeper that could make saves and not howlers, you could see their defence wasn’t too bothered if they lost the ball as they had a last line behind them, the goal keeper, all we have is an Isotonic drink leaning against the post.

Let’s hope the prospect of facing his compatriots, and the whole of Spain tonight will bring the best out of him, maybe this will be the spur he needs to have a decent game for once. I won’t hold my breath, but I will keep my fingers crossed.

Anyway, I’m no expert, like we apparently have in our vast scouting network, but Chamakh and Lloris didn’t arrive from the planet Zog this season, so why weren’t we all over them in the summer? Why could we not see we had a keeping crisis and guess we’d had a front line one by April, as always.

The good news is that Chamakh says Arsenal is still very much on his mind, we’ll see!

Onto tonight and the biggest game ever to hit the Grove, Barcelona! I can’t wait, I want the day to end but at the same time it will be like cup final day, so I will enjoy every second of it until I meet Pedro for our pre match beers and all the fans and supporters to discuss how many we will win by, I still think 3-1, but by the time kick off starts, it will rise to 5-1!

Will Cesc make it? I think so, but an unfit Cesc is an anonymous Cesc, so if he’s not 100%, I would sooner see Nasri, Song and Diaby play (Diaby is fit) having Gallas back is good news, but is he match fit? If not I would prefer Campbell in there, they have plenty of pace so Gallas would be better, but like an unfit Cesc, and unfit Gallas is a liability.

Players like Bendtner and Theo are for me in the last chance saloon, by that, I mean they need to go out and be as immense and you or I would be if we had that chance, plenty of running and be all over the pitch, wanting the ball and fighting back if they lose it, this is a cup final, and one should we win, would show the rest of Europe who the real daddy is.

I am proud to be a gooner tonight and I am thrilled to be watching us play arguably the best team in the world, Arsene, you need to send those boys out with belief, they need to go at them from the off, let Messi and his mates know what passing and moving quickly really is.

It’s pointless being in the Champions league year in, year out if we don’t think and play like we can win it, shoot on sight because that’s what they will do, they want the away goal, and don’t sit back, because they will punish us, do a Porto, show them what you’ve got early doors.

We are not the Great british winter Olympic team that just turn up for a nice day out, we are the Arsenal and this trophy should be in our cabinet, it’s not theirs by right, it’s ours.

Winning tonight won’t be the end, it’s not even the beginning of the end, but it is perhaps the end of the beginning! And that my friends will show the world that this team has finally arrived.

Make as much noise as you can tonight Gooners, all those of you at home do the same, let us in the home of football hear your cry and tonight will be ours.

Go Arsenal, go! Have just the best day Grovers and win or lose, have a booze!

So do I. So there is no Pique or Puyol. Maybe that is a glimmer of hope. Certainly we cant beat them in a 4-3-3. It has to be 4-5-1 or 4-4-2.

Clichy was SOOOOOOOOO exposed its a joke. Dani Alves was playing with a smile on his face. Abou had a mare as well.

  2. Lew

we’ve got a good chance now, without their two first choice centre backs and with walcott playing the full game next week, hopefully arshavin will be fit too

  3. mattafc

gotta say i’m delighted, i really think we have a chance next week, gave a much better showing the the last 30mins – we can do this!!!!!

  4. ritesh

Nasri says …message of Wenger at half time was to….

ask the team to defend better…then wait for last 20 mins to attack them because they would be tired.

What a load of shit, each Arsenal player ran 1 km more than Barca players in the 1st half alone.

  5. Mayank

“Wenker almost made sure that Barca would thrash us with his stupid substitutions.”
Haha, worng time for that comment Jag the only substitution that wasn’t forced on Wenger was, THEO, THEO, THEO!!!
    Also Denilson played really well…

  6. bostonian

I think a Nasri Denilson midfield in front of Song would do fine

I am worried about Sol’s ability to handle pace

  7. Merida's No.1 Fran

Maybe we wouldve won if Bendy finished his chances. Or if we had a decent keeper.

Next time anyone talks sheet about Walcott im a slap him
    ———–
let it go with bendtner jeez, he had one header chance.

  8. ritesh

Incesc…Arsenal work…Come on, we will try some nice flicks and neat touches to see.

And if we lose, then we will try again next time. This is the new Arsenal ;-)

  9. atlanta_gooner

Mayank I dont agree with your line up…

Theo is an impact player…when the defenders are tired and scared of his runs..I dont think he should start…

  10. Mayank

David Nik didn’t miss any sitter, we’re in this tie because of AL imo. Stupid mistake for the goal but that was Vermaelen’s error to leave that space in the first place.

  11. zeus

No one can match barca with a 4-3-3. Wenger should know this an not overestimate our players levels. Flood the MF and play on the counter, thats our only chance.

  12. ritesh

Lew, even if they play without center backs, we need to have the ball to score.

Arshavin plays next week… please please dont be in a hurry to rush him back…Walcott will do for me.

  13. bostonian

    i would play

    Arshavin Bendy Eboue

    Nasri Diaby Denilson

    Clichy Verm Song Sagna

Changes: Walcott in at 60 mins

Vela in for Arshavin at 70

  14. zeus

I don’t really think its just tactics. Barca without Messi and Ibra completely outclassed Mourinho’s Inter during the group stages. Barca’s possession was so much better in that game than this one and JM is an expert tactician.

  15. Mayank

I’m off to catch some sleep (yeah right!). All I have to say is, how can some still be so dispassionate about the match? Fine, chances are we’ll go out, but tonight’s the kind of night that should have every gooner buzzing.
This is our team! This is Arsenal!!

  16. timao

shit, who is going to take the pens at the nou camp? that was a rubbish penalty by cesc except for the fact it hit the back of the net, mind you!!! cesc puts it in with he mind… who else we got can do that???

  17. SUGA3

    the goon,

it’s always the same tactics – it’s not about ‘getting it wrong’, it’s about the oppo anticipating us better or worse, simples…

  18. atlanta_gooner

Mayank I would even play Diaby on the left up top…
why because he can get in a wide position and hold the ball up…Bendtner has proved time and time again he cant hold the ball up hence the constant pressure on the midfield to track back,…

  19. ritesh

    the goon, as usual…

Good players do not always play well in big matches…you need character. which Eboue, Denilson, Walcott and Nasri have.

Denilson did us a lot of good in that engine room, With Rosicky selected in place of Fabregas, we might have stolen a win there.

We also missed Campbell…he’s slow but he is a good organiser and he is a winner.

We have too many pussies in this team.

  20. SharkeySure

Almunia – typical Big Al. Halfway to giving us a bit of a rethink, then he fucking well stabs us thru the heart again.
Sagna – Worked hard, did OK
Clichy – tremendous effort. Some decent crosses as well !!
Verm – Ok, not great for 2nd goal, but showed fight and some arsehole
Song – fucking majestic from start to finish. Carried the fight for us. We would have been murdered twice first half instead of just the once without him.
Diaby – worst game he’s had for some time now.
Nik B – two great assists and won nearly every flick on
Fat Sammy – complete lack of back tracking early dotors, but worked very hard and played well
Fab – clearly unfit, but has the heart of a lion
Denilson – Special mention, brilliant. He’s been recoverng some god form, and tonight was his best 60mins in a long long time. Well done Den.

Team. First half, shocking. Stood off and let Barca knock the ball about. For the second goal, I watched three men just looking at rthe Barca player waiting to pick a pass. Why Tommy decided to step up then is beyond me.

Having said all of that, so proud to be a Gooner tonight. What a fucking fightback.

Penultimate word. How fucking good were Barca tonight. Unbelievable team even without Iniesta.

Last word. Will inujries please just FUCK THE FUCK RIGHT FUCKING OFF !!!

Nite all. Off to pub !!

  21. Sabeel Indian Gunner

we need a better performance than this..and at the end of this game we atleast have hope

Up the gunners..thank god ..it is 2-2.

lets get the early goal on noucamp,if we want we can..C`mon arsenal..

  22. Tariq

Lol what a game. Denilson did pretty well when he came on. Lost the ball few times, but overall I thought he did well. Diaby was making mistakes all over the place! Watching Wenger now, I thought he was going to cry when he started talking.

  23. atlanta_gooner

    ritesh you hit the nail….
too many pussies…campbell should be back and his presence alone will make messi uncomforablt running into him

  24. zeus

Doesn’t this mirror last season semis. Almunia performs heroics, we delude ourselves into believing we’ve got a shot, then…….

But good fight back still. Cue Wenger and his belief,………..

  25. lott

we’re probably out of this but there is a slight chance we can do it w/o their 2 first choice defenders. it’s going to be bloody hard but we cannot have been that bad like we were in the first half: constant ball watching, sloppy passes, diaby having a mare, fabregas invisible in the first half and clueless in the final third.
hope arshavin, gallas and cesc injury aint to bad.

we need arshavin and rosicky at camp nou!

  26. Man

Rest Campbell and play Silvestre against Wolves, we’ll need Campbell for the return match…

All English teams could be out this time next week…woah!

  27. gambon

    Mayank

    Every gooner buzzing?

You realise we are almost certain to go out? Why should we be buzzing about drawing at home after being raped?

  28. Lew

we’ve got to play a different way tho next week, forget trying to keep it ’cause it won’t work, just get the ball out wide as quickly as possible, make the most of the pace we have on the wings and the height we have inside the box

  29. zeus

FUCKING RETURN TO A 4-4-2. Don’t care who is uncomfortable, who plays better centrally. Just fuck off.

Arsha plays off Bendtner. Nasri wide, Eboue wide and whoever the fuck else.

  30. Samir

    Team for the second leg?

    ……….Almunia…………..
    Sagna–Campbell–Vermy–Clichy
    ……….Song……………
    …….Nasri–Diaby………..
    Rosicky–Van Persie–Arshavin..

    Walcott on at 60mins.

  31. luke

Arsh just doesnt look up for anything anymore. Doesnt seem to put in effort, always seems fatigued, misplaced passes, lazy attitude, only to have a moment of magic every other game. A bit inconsistent for me.

  32. ritesh

Larsenal, Wenger says our midfield did not do the job early on.

He’s right on that, only denilson gave us breathing space when he came on.

  33. choy

Luke.. you do realize that he’s been carrying an injury for a long long time!

Playing out of position most of the time too!

  34. izham

what barca taught us was the desire to win back possession as soon as they lost it..they closed down the space and the player who had possession of the ball..at one time, they even had 3 players ganging up on ours..

being 2 goal down and to come back against a barca side who’ve been the best team this season is not to be sniffed at..we were shite in the first half and mediocre in the first 20 of the 2nd half..to those who slate bendy have got to get a grip,we were denied possession and chances were limited..yes his first touch is shite however so did most of our players in this game..

walcott did changed the game when he came on as he got to run at a tired barca defence,he’s a good impact sub never a starter..al did made some spectacular saves to keep us in the game

    @ David,

    walcott is shite (at birmingham)

  35. the dude abides

Some good points by Wenger in the post match interview.
No doubt Barca were the better team on the night, we looked like a collection of individuals whilst they pressed and played like a team.
Walcott changed everything, I think his pace made them take a step back and we took the iniciative.
They will have their first choice centre backs out next week and if we can get at them I don’t think defensively they are great.
Surely next week Diaby can’t have such a piss poor game as he had tonight – on the downside what are the chances of Messi having another quiet game like he had this evening?

  36. luke

Ritesh: Walcott is better off the bench, Sagna starts because he is one of two players on our team who can defend, I said i forgot about cesc’s yellow, Campbell cant handle the pace of a barca game, I would like nasri to play, youre right on that…

  37. kevin

I never thought I would be saying this but denilson was key today. His trademark sideways passes allowed us to retain possesion before we started to penetrate. Whereas when he was not on the field, the players tried to make foward passes to quickly. This is what barca did, there apporach play was slow and basic, but they only started to penetrate in the final third. But i guess the high pressing game was to good.

Anyway onwards and upwards, but it will have to be a massive performance to get through.

  38. hitman

Barc exploited our 4-3-3 system in first half. It gave them so much space on the wings.
Dont know how we are still in this tie. We will only win if we have a top notch striker. We will get chances. Defensively Barc were not great in 2nd half.
    RVP anyone.

  39. Keyser

Even if we’d lost 2-0 or worse that wouldn’t have been half as depressing as the Birmingham game.

Have to give it to them everytime they get knocked down and all the sadists start posting they come back and surprise everyone.

Thought we looked nervous and gave them too much respect but we soaked up the pressure and tried to get our game going whenever we could, Gallas goes down, Arshavin off and a
we come back from 2 goals down to draw against Barcelona.

Fabregas at times you think he needs to be more passionate you hear the voices of pundits and journalists wondering if he has other things on his mind, but injured and with no concern for what he’ll be doing this summer or even next week he wanted to stay on and try to make a difference.

No matter what team we face you still get the impression we’re too nice or just lplain inexperience we let teams and referees get away with too much.

  40. zeus

Oh come on. Is Arsha immune from criticism because he is our best player bar RVP and Fab4?

His finishing has been way below par and his all around play on slightl;y better than his finishing. His first ball today was a misplaced pass to a barca player. He was gr8 last season, but until he accoplishes Henry like feats, then he doesn’t get a free pass. I’m no Arshavin apologists until he does something gr8 for us.

  41. Sabeel Indian Gunner

    Nite all

there is hope at end of the game

inshallah, learn from our mistakes, and lets be positive at noucamp…get a early goal..

if we want it, we can do it…its as simple as dat..

C`mon arsenal..and thanks for the company

  42. ritesh

The dude, If he knew Walcott would push them back why not start him and scare the shit out of them.

He terrorised Maxwell. But no, Wenger will wait for last 20 mins to score. Idiot…as always absent in the big games.

A big thumbs up for Nasri, BIG BIG Almunia, Super Walcott and Denilson.

Oh…please dont play Denilson at the week end, he is shit against PL thugs.

  43. Paul N

Yes, some of you guys toasted me on the other post but look at these youngsters!!! geoff and some other folks talking foolishness.

Who else could fight back in such a manner, and you know what all of the players who you guys constantly criticize and down were integral to this draw – Almunia, Denilson and Walcott!!

    Humble pie, you call it.

You all need to quit the damn moaning and crying and get behind the blasted team. Those who moan that is.

What a team, what a team!!!

    ARSENAL!!

  44. luke

THere were a lot of players on the Lyon’s pitch yesterday I want to sign up: Jeremy Toulalan, Yoann Gourcuff, Maroane Chamakh, Hugo Lloris.

  45. izham

if walcott is to start, then it could only be eboue at RB..idk but i think eboue loves playing with theo and vice versa, they kind of have a “telepathy”..return leg line up will be:

    ___________clown__________
    __sagna__sol__verm__clichy
    ___________song___________
    __diaby/denilson____nasri
    __rosicky__bendy__arsha

    sagna —> eboue (60th min)
    rosicky —> walcott (60th min)
    arsha —> vela (70th min)

both eboue and walcott can run at their tired defence and run them ragged later..

  46. ritesh

Zeus remove Fab4 from that list. I would like to know when he had a good game for us in a big match.

For me Samir Nasri deserves the playmaker role from now.

  47. nishanth

It will be one tough game at nou camp. But glad that the boys atleast showed some fight today.Diaby was easily the worst player today.Denilson actually did an okay job after coming on.Bendtner should have buried that header but then he was responsible for our two goals.Just hope that the injuries to cesc, gallas and arshavin is not bad

  48. zeus

WE got a lesson inn passing and movement today. But some of it was down to our own doing. We were ot spacially aware it must be said.

Barca the best 4-3-3 side out there right now. We sure as hell don’t put in that workrate.

  49. nishanth

We got lucky today but then i really don’t give a fuck!!We were not great today you really have got to give credit to barcelona.Every other team has struggled against them so this is nothing to be ashamed of.

  50. zeus

choy thats what I’m saying. or 4-4-2. Dani Alves gets a 8.5/10 for me. Cuz we gave him Far TOO much space.

  51. GoonerMan

You guys are jokers!! constantly slag wenger off…. may as well go back to days of Bruce Rioch… Ungrateful idiots!! Yeah we got battered tonight, So did Manure!! The key was to always play with a high tempo, We never got going until the 70min!! we conceded two stupid goals, Barca looked fucked, Next week they will probably play Yaya and Milito/Marquez and they are as slow as anything!! I would actually have Walcott playing CF.

  52. zeus

    nis

At least we created chances. and scored. The Mans did nothing in the CL final. And Inter had less possession than us in their game v barca too.(and thats w/out Messi and iBRA)

  53. ritesh

    Paul,

Walcott could never run at defences in the PL like that. There is always a thug like Ridgewell to stop him and Webb is not like the world class Swiss ref we had tonight. He went by the book and allowed civilised play.

Denilson still does the same things in the PL but the fact he has no physical presence makes that Diaby and Song are better.

Almunia…BIG BIG performance. Mind you the next match is the one where he is due a howler according to his pattern ;-)

  54. nucks

MIDFIELD was AWFUL!!! In particular Diaby! When i saw him come on as a sub for his first ever appearance I said “He will be better than viera” What the fuck do I know. What a slow, lazy wanker that fella was tonight. (He could be soooo good if he wanted it) Pure dog shit!! We didn’t know what to do did we? Barca pressed us and gave us no time in the first half. Credit to them. If our 10 men did that week in week out we would win everything. (or maybe at least something) What a lesson that was. The only consolation was Barca couldn’t keep that up all game and Almunia actually kept us in it despite being guilty for their first. Theo!!!!

  55. zeus

    ritesh

This ref went too far I think. Its like he thought it was a non contact sport. Plus he was really poor overall.

  56. ritesh

The defence was shit tonight…2 goals alike. same mistake.

Campbell in please. He must be as fast as Song even at 35.

  57. Paul N

    gambon, running the damn mouth.

If the cap fits wear it, if you are not one of the people moaning then shut your face and dont get into it. If you are humble yourself and stand corrected, that what grown ups do.

  58. ritesh

Paul, I have to admit that if I see Denilson being overtaken by the ref I want to break my remote control (yep I wanted to do it once)

Same thing if Shava does not track back or Cesc plays like a midget. Some of the performances of Walcott were also appalling. But Almunia is the pick of the lot. :-)

Players are promoted to stardom when they perform and booed when they are crap. Its part of the game

  59. Jaguar

Fuck off you french mug Wenker with your fucking 4-3-3.If we had played in a 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 we would have won.Fucking French hypocrite.

  60. gambon

    Stand corrected about what?

Walcott scores 1 goal, so hes now world player of the year?

Almunia makes some good saves for the first time this season after 45 games and he’s great?….oh no cos he pretty quickly reverted to the fuck up he is at the start of the 2nd.

    Form fluctuates, class is permanent.

  61. Cannon Man

We were poor in the first half. I like Diaby but he doesn’t intimidate the opposition much for a man his size and plays A LOT of nonsense balls. We had players who committed themselves forward on several occasions only for him to give possession away cheaply leaving them out of position. This isn’t he Prem, you can’t do that at this level. The ball doesn’t come straight back. Top teams cherish it – like Brian Clough famously said all teams should. His tackling and closing down was atrocious, as was that of all of our midfielders. No organisation defensively. After all of Almunia’s first half heroics (yes I said it), him and Song gifted them a goal immediately after the restart and Song gifted them another 15 mins later. We tend to get away with a lot of sloppy play in the Prem because the teams are crap in general and give the ball straight back to us. At this level, you keep the ball and use it effectively or you get punished. Giving players of that calibre that amount of time and space is suicide. Its obvious we don’t train on defending as a team. Walcott and Diaby strike me as players who are more effective when they don’t have to think. When they have decisions to make, it goes peared. The score line is HUGELY flattering. I said before the game that “troubling” Pique and Puyol should be a priority with them both being on yellows. How long did it take ffs? First half was one of the worst team performances I’ve seen for a long time. Clichy STILL gets no protection from in front. We started with our strongest line-up bar one. Now Cesc, Gallas and Arshavin are doubts. To be honest I’d rather play Vela or Rosicky instead of Arshavin because he’s pulled no trees up this season whatsoever and at least they track the opposition right back. We make it difficult for ourselves. We’re now TWO away goals down heading to the Nou Camp. Being pragmatic, it doesn’t look good does it. Against top players, we’ve been found out on too many occasions. Summer needs to see some TOP QUALITY bought in and our nevermen (plus one or two nearlymen) shipped out. That’s if we really want to dominate. Special praise to Walcott, Eboue, Clichy, Denilson (he looked 10 times better than Diaby tonight) and Almunia’s first half performance because after 16 odd mins, they’d had 5/9 shots on target to our 0/0 and almost all of the ball. Shocking. The ref did make some serious howlers including Cesc’s booking but that might turn out to be a moot point. I’m hugely disappointed and somewhat relieved. Here’s to a draw at Old Trafford this Sat.

  62. ritesh

Jaguar, the problem imo is not the system, its players not tracking back and putting in efforts.

Barca play 4 3 3 but look at the work rate of their forwards… they track back as devil posessed as soon as they lose it. What do Shava and Bendtner do when we lose it? Only Nasri tracked back with some heart.

  63. Paul N

And what is your problem with Down Syndrome people. You may not be but you are no mature than my 3 week old.

  65. Jaguar

Ritesh, its the inability of that senile French clown Wenker who manage us,that our players dont track back.

  66. gnarleygeorge9

Barcelona won’t play any better next up, but Arsenal certainly can. But AW needs to forget about proving points about his style of play & just focus on winning.

Thats W.I.N.N.I.N.G. Its an English word that frequently bobs up through out British history.

  67. Paul N

No, it means you give players a chance to grow and dont slate them all the time, especially when they have had many injuries.

The job of a supporter is to support and not constantly slam the players and manager as many do on this site.

Its ridiculous and if you cannot understand that, I am right about your maturity.

  68. Jaguar

We are not mature,Paul N.I would love to see you when Wenker’s stupid tactics are thrashed next weekend at the Nou Camp.

  69. Paul N

Class is permanent, I agree, now learn how to be a supporter with class. One who backs the team through the thick and thin.

You want the players to never dip in form while your support is like a roller coaster. Hypocrisy of the highest order.

  70. ritesh

Jaguar, you have a point there. The players are not taken to taks when the fuck up. So they fuck up again ;-)

thrashed at the Nou Camp Jaguar??? Are you OK dude?

  71. Paul N

can you tell me the lotto number here in Houston, since you know what will happen next week.

Geez, talk about stretching for something to say.

Just back from the pub here in Stockholm and feel physically exhausted!!! I have never seen anything like that first 20 mins from an away side against Arsenal in my 25 years watching them…we couldnt get a foot on the ball.

It was like the final fight from Rocky 4…we kept getting battered down but jumped back up again for more of the same….

Great result in the end as I thought we could end up losing by 4 or more once Al decided to ruin his first half masterclass…did you see Lehman get interviewed at half time and actually praise Al…kiss of death or what!?

MY head hurts…I need to sleep….

    Oh i get you Paul

Being a supporter is about pretending sub-standard players are great players.

I call it deluded, but each to his own.

This iPhone shit is too annoying, heh gambon cheer up, even if we’d lost this wouldn’t have been half as depressing as Birmingham.

We ain’t going to win anything I’f we don’t keep players fit, as good a team as barca are we could still learn from the way they exploit things to their advantage.

If we’re hurt in a challenge we need to roll around and let the ref know because they seem too fucking dopey to make up their own minds.

Great teams win things we just don’t get to pick the same team for long enough to see how good we’ll be, pretty sad that.

    Paul N,

we are expecting maturity from a group of professional football players – what we saw today was a group of kids with their mouths wide open in awe, not even busting a fucking gut…

I would have no complaints, had this game ended with 2:5 on the scoreboard – would you?

I hope Gallas really is injured and didn’t simply want to disassociate himself with what he thought would be a heavy defeat! Our goals conceded came as a direct result of the reshuffle. If Almunia starts as number 1 next season, I might have to seriously consider my support. Imagine what a Felipe Melo could have done for us tonight.

Ok here is the thing..it seems Denilson excels against technical teams…

I mean he dominated the midfield against Roma last year….Diaby also dominated Roma….

But the difference is Diaby is very ellaborate and Denilson keeps it simple….

Against a team that swarms like Barca..you cant afford overelaboration…no matter how skillful you are….if you dilly dally in midfield atleast one player will stop you….

Elaboration is mostly for the final third becasue players are scared to give away free kicks and penalties….

So we need to know strengths…play Song and Diaby in the PL because they are strong and skillful…

But against a team like Barca you need a simple interceptor like Denilson…

If we can add Barca’s team defending to our repertoire we would be unstoppable…no matter what happens Wenger needs to incorporate some of that into the team..

And in fact I think Guardiola is the perfect successor for Wenger…Beautiful football + work ethic

Overpaid fuckin clown of a manager as no rights to moan, about other teams , after his stupid tactics were found ineffective by a better team.

Even a lunatic would manage our team better than this over paid over rated French cunt.

Paul N you are entitled to your opinion of course but the fact is Arsenal are not a team that should be sitting around waiting for players to grow. . over the last 10 years we have been successful and many seasons better than Man Utd. They havent taken a step backwards and sat waiting for boys to grow into men.
Arsene has allowed our first team to become the place of development – except thats what the reserves is for.
Our first team is too bogged down with ‘potentials’ – its Ok to have 4 or 5 like that in a squad but not in your starting 11…and not at Arsenal. We are better than that and as fans, deserve more.
