3 points in the bag today plus a bit of backlash for fat boy.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

I expect nothing other than a win today, why? Well because Sunderland just aren’t that good, in fact the last team they beat was in November and it was us, and we weren’t that good!

Although we lost against Porto, we were far the better team, if you take away the two howlers, and the paranoia of the manager, we were the better team, and the ref, although controversial, really wasn’t born on Mars.

Anyway, if we can’t beat this shower of doo-doo, we really are in trouble, still at least if we do lose, we can be sure that it won’t be our fault.

A quick word on Portsmouth and how they are looking to sell players to keep up or get a loan or have the EPL step in, what are they, a Bank? Why do the sporting world think they above the parapit? Why do they think it would be a disaster, save 25,000 Pompey fans who won’t get to see their team anymore, surely they could go and support Southampton or Brighton or even Plymouth, they are all from the seaside.

I think it’s sad because I do like them, but they were mis-managed by Harry and Storrie and they are now paying the price, why is anyone surprised, Harry went to Spurs and bought most of those players back at half the price, and you only have to listen to either of them being interviewed and you wouldn’t be surprised if you saw them both selling Jellied eels off a barrow in Rathbone street market at the weekend.

I would be more concerned with letting Corus steelworks close down, you have a whole town that relies on that company, a whole industry that has had it’s furnaces on since 1858 and this government allows them to close, without a whimper, however if it’s a Bank or a Premier league team, no expense is spared keeping them afloat and in gravy, how many times have they been reprieved for Christ’s sake?

How can you not know you owe £11mil in taxes? A bit careless that, and why on earth didn’t they sell players in the window, this demand didn’t drop out of the sky!

One day a genius will come along and say, I know why all these clubs are in such financial straights, (there has to be a reason, they haven’t all been managed by Harry and David O’Leary) the reason is, we pay such out of touch salaries to young kids that have done nothing, apart from getting lucky or meeting Arsene Wenger.

For Instance, Theo Walcott at his age earns more than the Prime Minister, the Governor of the Bank of England and The Chairman of Marks & Spencer. How on earth can that be right?

Multiply him by all the players in football and you have the answer, there, now that wasn’t rocket science was it!.

Anyway onto us and today, I expect the following team sheet.

Fabianski

Eboue Campbell Vermaelen Clichy

Song Cesc Diaby

Rosicky Bendtner Arshavin

He won’t drop Fabianski because he refuses to admit he isn’t world class, I think Fabianski is a great keeper, but like Senderos, he has a howler or two in there somewhere.

I would play Eboue at right back because at least he can cross a ball, and I expect to see Arshavin and Song back, I also expect an emphatic win because they aren’t that good and all will be roses in the garden again on Sunday, another papering over the cracks job in our quest for third place, the greatest of all achievements.

I’ll be there and cheering the boys on as usual, it will be cold though, so I may well be wearing my lucky Arsenal gloves, and you all know what happens when I do that!

Have a great game Grovers, we may close the gap today!

plus id rather score class goals like drogba’s than have too fall down in the edge of the box in extra time to get a 2- nil result …

  2. ethangunner

    12 games ,

but they truly came to us defeated from the word go last night…

we should of won by a higher margin …

  3. gnarleygeorge9

…..I reckon by May, Arsenal will not be in the CL and chavs will. So unless the boys drop their bundle after bowing out, we will have the edge.

Oh bloody hell here I go again

You guys cant see we played ALL that well today. We did not take our chances and if SUnderland had been half good today the game could have turned out different. Remember Jones’ chance on the edge of HT. Jesus. We did well today but not a terribly convincing performance. That being said, 3 pts is 3 pts.

  5. sixx pac

well i can say we played well today bar the finishing and a captain who just strutted around the field uninterested. MOTM my ass

Nice to see a conservative Clichy as well. From now on whenever Eboue plays, cuz we know he is ALWAYS going forward, Clichy should stay back.

The last thing we need is both fullbacks forward while Vermaelen and fishface are the only ones protecting the waiter.

Sol Campbell against Stoke, even if Gallas is fit. We can’t ride our luck against them, that American kid has something about him. Remember him killing Spain at the Confed cup. His name slips me ATM.

    Good morning all,

    Full week rest – Stoke

    Full week rest – Burnley
    Porto mid week
    Hull weekend

    Full week rest westham
    Full week rest Birmingham
    Full week rest Wolves

Only thing that would rain on our parade is injuries in training :)

    @ luke
Chamakh is free. Lyon is well known for driving hard bargains. Lloris is nothing less than 20m I should think. How about just getting Sebastien Frey who is 30 and have him be the stop gap until we just call up Schezny(sp?)

Still think we need another back up for RVP though. He just can’t stay fit. All of our forwards has a part of his game in them. Walcott, his pace – Bendtner, his height – Eduardo, his finishing – Arshavin, his trickery and brilliance. None of them have it all like RVP does.

A bit pacey on here tonight. lots of rows, lots of name calling.
    very entertaining.
Don’t go changing, to try and please me
You never let me down before
    Don’t imagine you’re too familiar
And I don’t see you anymore
I wouldn’t leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I’ll take the bad times
I’ll take you just the way you are

just watched full highlights. Aluminia had a very good game. Saved 1 or 2 one on ones. After watching Fabianski horror how, Aluminia gives so much confidence.
Theo has a good game. He created 2 chances with his pace and used strength. But there are no central forward or no one is ghosting behind last defender to take advantage.
I would say, Ebou, Aluminia, Theo and Nasri played well.

  11. Maurya

    Luke,
I just watched 10min highlights. Did not follow the match. Looks like Ebou and Walcott played well. They did created one or two with their pace and directness. If we can combine both and make one player, that would be awesome.

  12. luke

Maurya, I watched 90 minutes…Walcott was a bloody disgrace. He had one good run, but he was 98% tragical out there today.

  13. Maurya

    Luke,
You have better understanding of the match. I guess MOTD is just compiled few nice Theo runs. This game gave me a lot of confidence on Aluminia.

  14. AA23

I’ve watched the game twice and seen various sets of highlights.
We slaughtered them frankly, it could have been 8-2.
Each game as it comes but I fancy us to batter Stoke next week and I think West Ham will do united, mid week.
I thought Chelsea looked crap today and they are going to drop points. Without Drogshit bailing them out time and time again they are ordinary.
I can see City getting a draw at biffins bridge.
This time next week we will be second and 4 points behind Drogba.

  15. Maurya

    AA23,
I hope so. Stoke and Birmingham are our most critical matches. We can beat stoke, if we have fit Gallas, Vermi, Song and Diaby. We can stick Bendy upfront. Play Arsh, Rosicky/ Nasri on the wings. We should comfortably get 3 points at Stoke.

We slaughtered them frankly, it could have been 8-2.-
    ———————
yes we could of ,but we didnt !
the same problem exists last season ,that still exists today ,

WE ARE NOT CLINICAL ENOUGH !

as luke said if sunderland wasnt so crap they would of wiped the floor with us ..

our performance was average at best,& made too look good by how crap Sunderland were ..

they’ve been on a 12 game losing streak and somehow , we are the champions!!!

    ok delusional’s ..

    go for it :)

  18. ethangunner

im sure had we played a blue square premier division team last night we would look just as sharp , the problem comes when you face a team of porto’s stature and above .SOMEONE BETTER . the chev’s? man U? , man shitty even ….

and if you dont know what im talking about you probably never will …

but lets compare apples to apples ..

not apples to watermelons .. ..

  19. ethangunner

once we scored the 1st , we went to sleep !
and thats not enough with big al in goal ..

we need to kill these games off EARLY, it took too the 2nd minute in extra time to close the game off .. far too late IMO .

  20. Gooby

us going to a strait winning streak until the end of the season.

it would be nothing short of magic…

in this cas we win the title
