The new kit and who will be wearing it!

by & filed under Uncategorized.

So yesterday saw a bunch of blog sites show the new kit, all red and Nike’s last one apparently, hmmmm, first of all it wasn’t a real picture but then any mug could see that.

Secondly we would never have a kit without white sleeves, I think Arsenal will have learnt that from the agg they got with the last one and thirdly we always seem to alternate between red socks and white ones, I hope next season we have red and white hooped socks like the first Nike Kit, which I still think was the best one, the one with lightening bolts.

The other rumour is that we will be ditching Nike for Adidas the year after, if we ditch Nike, I hope it’s for Puma, they do some really nice stuff, apart from the spuds kit that is.

Anyway, more to the point, who will be wearing it? If the rumours are to be believed Cesc and Gallas are both off, I don’t believe Cesc will go but maybe if he does we can finally pay off the debt, I kid of course because with the prudent spending the coach has done over the years and with the property market back in full swing I suspect that’s already been paid off, I can’t think why not if it hasn’t!

Arsene, we really lack experience, Billy boy for me has had his best ever season, give him a 2 year contract, he’s earned it, some of the others you’ve given 20 year contracts to haven’t, show the team that being able to play football now counts for something. Well something more than being 19 anyway.

I’m thinking yesterday what a shame we aren’t still in the cup, but when I saw who the winners of Stoke and City got I was also thinking at least we haven’t got to get a further spanking by the Chavs again, well at least until we meet then in the Champions league anyway, but if we get lucky, and if we beat Porto and then get through the quarters, we may have Robin back, then we’ll see how good they are, you never know, all we have left now is the faint hope that our luck with injuries will turn.

Maybe we will go on a run, at least the chasing back didn’t cover themselves in glory this weekend, perhaps we can win the Champions league and Premier league double, I’d take that, wouldn’t you?

So this next month is crucial to the Arsenal in as much as the season’s will be renewed and that means that we will start seeing things like pre-season contracts being signed, Cesc to sign a new and improved one and a brand spanking new kit to wet our lips.

A case of Peroni for whoever gets us an exclusive picture!

No pic... no beer...

Have a great day today Grovers, only two more to see how far we can go in Europe!!!

We had better get busy this Summer.

If we are adding CHamakh for free…we best be adding another striker in there for competition and injuries sake. Our defence will be in shambles.

And i worry that when Cesc comes back from the WC. Not sure if he’d want to be back playing along side Song and Denilson again.

    David;

The midfield 3 will be cesc. Song. Diaby.

Thats been fine when they have played together, for me…

If Chamakh comes in, then I can’t see how signing another striker makes sense either?

Im already looking forward to the summer MG

The team didnt improve much from last year imo.

Diaby has become extremely important to us. Song as well.

But the team as a whole hasnt improved much from last season.

hahahah french refs, they are horrible.

you can’t watch a game, it stops every 15 seconds for fouls. stupid ref are part of the premiership being spectacular

  5. ManGoonian

If the refs were consistently shite, I could handle that, but the way they let the England players get away with shite is a real pisser…

    Anyhoo, thats yer lot!

Sol Campbell was last night placed on standby for a remarkable Champions League return with William Gallas a doubt for tomorrow’s trip to Porto.

Gallas missed yesterday’s training session at London Colney after aggravating his long-standing back problem.

And while Arsene Wenger expects the French defender to pull through and make the flight to Portugal, Campbell is in line to play if Gallas does not recover.

It would represent a massive test for the 35-year-old Campbell, whose last taste of Champions League football saw him score the opening goal in Arsenal’s 2-1 Final defeat by Barcelona in 2006.

Campbell has made two appearances for the Gunners since signing on a short-term deal last month, starting the FA Cup defeat at Stoke and then replacing the injured Thomas Vermaelen in the goalless draw at Aston Villa.

The former England man’s fitness levels have surprised Wenger and the Arsenal boss does have faith in the veteran if required.

Gallas’ problem was the last thing Wenger wanted, however, with Andriy Arshavin and Alex Song both set to stay behind when Arsenal fly to Portugal and a further doubt over Tomas Rosicky.

Arshavin has already ruled himself out, targeting Saturday’s game with Stoke to return after the hamstring injury he sustained against Liverpol, while Song is suffering from a knee ligament problem.

Striker Eduardo and French midfielder Samir Nasri are both expected to be fit after coming through yesterday’s session unscathed but Wenger will have an anxious 24 hours before the Gunners jet out to Portugal after this morning’s training session at London Colney.

i agree with you there , sol is a professional,
he will never let you see him sweat.

im not worried about 90% of the players just big al . and denilson being given a run ….

the away leg will be a tough 1 , we will go there and be cautious with a 4-5-1 i s’pose…

control the midfield-control the game ..
it wont be a cracker of a game.im sure they know they (porto)need to score at least 2 to be in with a chance..

but the lads will hold possession and kill the game off.

but anythings possible with big al between the sticks

    Grovers,

I wonder if you have noticed how narrow we seem to play. Against a technical team, we would get found out and be hit on th counter. That happened with ManU and Chelsea, without Wenger learning. We need to pa a team that has a chance of winning and het our confidence back for the return leg and the league games.
