Time to dish out a lesson to the playground bully, Arsenal, it’s time to deliver!

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Ok today I’m forgetting what our leader is saying about sticking to his guns and developing young talent, even though we don’t have that much and what we do have was on show last night at Eastlands, go figure, I can’t!

Today it’s all about doing Liverpool, the scousers come to the Grove on the back of a very dodgy win against the team we hammered 6-1, and it was only 6-1 because that day we had Almunia in goal.

Gerrard, the one who last week said he wouldn’t feel comfortable if Terry got sacked, and he was made captain, got his wish, he didn’t get made captain, ha, ha, did that backfire or what!

He is the tough guy that punched a DJ in the face for no other reason than he had his mates in the bar protecting him, well no one can protect you at the Grove dipstick, tonight we’ll give you some if you start, tonight the Arsenal are like a wounded gun, Ok wounded bear, dangerous, we’ll come out blazing, (like a wounded gun would) and if we play football like we did at the Bridge, you’ll get hammered, we’ll then put an 8 point gap in there and your quest for 4th place or better will be over. Screwed.

Arsene put Bendtner and Rosicky on at the start, Theo likes to torment his boyhood team so as daft as it sounds, I would give him another go.

Arsenal, on the back of 3 defeats and a draw, you owe us one, I’ll be there to make sure you deliver, tonight Arsene, is for Harry, for England and St. George, tonight it’s about finishing top, not third, but numero uno, tonight the real Arsenal have to turn up or that’s it, season’s over.

Get in there you reds, get in there and show all those worthless journalists, pundits and ex players that your boss was right to stand by you and we are right to keep cheering you.

Tonight Arsenal, tonight is for us, the fans, go and deliver.

Have a great day Grovers, and more positive and my head will explode!

P.S. Did you see the Paddy to Ade goal? He can score goals like that because he is the right age. Arsene, take note. Pedro still has a single for tonight, e-mail in for info!

i think we can all agree that ol crook harrys comments are right then and they deserve to be above us in the table

  2. David

    Keyser…

If MON (Martin O’Neil) hadnt played defensively like a coward and gone for it i bet we’d get that Trifecta.

I think if i go to sleep…I might wake up from this dream

  3. zak

Fab4 said nothing that there were NO dealings with Barca and that it was disrespectful to himself and Arsenal. How that means he’s going I dont know FFS

  4. Harry

I’ve never been so depressed by a win, it justs papers over the cracks, if we’d have lost, Wenger and his whole way of running the team would have really been under pressure, now the pressure is completely off again.

Champions league football again, but no trophies again.

”next year I believe we will be stronger etc etc…”

    sick of it tbh

  5. Paul88

    zak.

why not say “i’m very happy at arsenal” like he has in the past? I’m sure we don’t want to sell, having said that we always cave in. If he pushes for it I think they’ll sell.

I guess only time will tell.

  6. A

Because he went that step further Paul88 and said everyone deserves more respect. He’s obviously getting pissed off with the constant ridiculous rumours!

  7. Lew

it’s in our hands now, we have the easiest run in by a mile and we are better than every team we have yet to play..i just hope we can be consistent and give our all in every game

  8. A

Hope so what Paul?! It’s very obvious how pissed off he is, and how ridiculous the reports are! Just typical sillyness from Spain!

Anyone know what Arshavin’s knock was?

  9. TonyS

Look at the replay of that free kick. It was bending right in the post, Aluminium was nowhere near it.

    Fabregas you fucking beauty!!!!!

  10. Paul88

bloody hell. They’re still focusing on the bloody handball. There’s always a bitter after taste for these pundits when we win.

  11. A

Yeah Lew, we’ve REALLY gotta get and keep consistency now, Porto and Sunderland games are massive, obviously today was too, but still gotta build up some momentum and confidence.

Chelsea’s last three away games Utd, Spuds, Liverpool, far from easy.

Our massive games are Spuds away and City home, along with Sunderland home in 10 days, just because our confidence isn’t going to be magically totally restored

  12. Swed

Diaby has ben great the last two games. And the best part is that u can se that he gives a shit and plays with he´s hart…

  13. A

Not sure about that TonyS, wasn’t hit particularly hard, I think Almunia would’ve gotten across relatively easily, but it would’ve been one of those bouncing just in front of him, so touch and go whether he’d push it out and away, or fuck it up as Mannone did against West Ham, for them to just tap in!

  14. zeus

Gr8 result though it wasn’t pretty.
If Walcott fuck up at the end passing ata ghost cost us 2 points I would be so pissed off.

And harry you could not be more right. We were 4th last year so its ‘sucess’ that we will come 3rd hi time round I suppose.

  15. gambon

Lew its not in our hands at all. Its in UTDs hands.

Harry, i understand what you mean, but its ludicrous to want us to lose just to heap pressure on AW.

  16. David

I like how everyone put in a defensive shift…

We can now see the importance of having tall players in the midfield.

    This midget thing isnt working.

Nasri had a concussion. Should be ok.

  17. A

Utd will need alot of luck to win the league. Rooney to stay on fire, and play every minute of every game. Without him they’re nothing, and even with him they’ve struggled alot this season.

I see the league as being between us and chelsea, still don’t rate Utd

  18. Swed

Have you noticed that Al always positions himself like 2 cm from the post at free kicks. Understand that he is standing prety close to the pole, but not why he is so damn close.

  19. nishanth

Great cross by rosicky.Bendtner apart from his finishing looked solid.Clichy looked shaky as usual but there was a slight improvement.Gallas was just brilliant.

My friend who is a liverpool fan thinks cesc’s handball was ridiculous and that he is a big cheat.Don’t they watch their hero gerrard play?

  20. ritesh

Ahhh, I missed the game cause there is a pilgrimage thing going on here.

A good result at last. Plus a nice run to come.

So these midgets will redeem themselves until they meet a Manure or Chelsea team again.

  21. nishanth

Really worried about theo’s form.He looked just so clueless out there. And WTF did he do in the 92nd minute?Hope vela comes back soon.
Isn’t it strange that whenever walcott comes back from injury he gets back into the main team straightaway despite doing nothing yet vela has to keep waiting for a chance

  22. A

Very off topic Gooby! Interesting argument though, I assume you don’t think the likes of Almunia or N’Zogbia should be allowed once they were eligible?

I think the opposite, though I also think that national football is dying and losing importance year by year. All it is for me now is an irritant that interrupts Arsenal games, and gets our players injured! Though the world cup is a good laugh.

    ——————————————————-
LOL. No they don’t A. This is a team that has benefitted from 10 own goals this season. The heavens want them to win.

  24. TJ

    What a strange season huh!

It’s been done to death, but imagine where we’d be if RVP could stay fit (or Wenger had pulled his finger out to sign a replacement)!

Bit like Freddie did back in the double season we now need someone to have a run of goals to win tight games but who……???

  25. Man

Eboue something different going forward, his craft was quite useful in our attacking phase…

Bendtner didn’t look like he was going to score what he offered was a good work rate and some presence Arshavin could play off…Arshavin’s played well

    …this 4411 isn’t bad, le grove still yoyo-ing with their emotions…well, same old same…

    buenos noches

  26. ritesh

hhmmmm, I agree Gooby. its a national thing as Wenger said some time back.

Its crazy to make an Italian sing God save the queen. Imaging that happening with England vs Italy.

I am not against taking foreigners as a kind of advisor or something if locals are crap.

  27. A

That’s a massive overstatement imo gambon, I really don’t get the Theo stick, in my eyes there’s something special there, that will come out at some point, sooner rather than later. He just needs to get some match sharpness and confidence, this system is made for him to score goals.

Agree about Diaby, he’s really becoming absolutely quality, HAS to stay fit!

  28. ritesh

Donovan did well…Saha was even better.

He is good with both feet, good in the air, he is french, he is not expensive, will not have a high salary.

Wonder why we did not buy? a poor injury record?

  29. Swed

    Agree Gambon

Theo managed to do two shoking things in the last 5 minutes.

    - Failed to deliver a cros to Diaby and TV who was alone in the penaltyarea.
    - Gave the ball to reina..

  30. Gunnersmith

    Lucky Arsenal beat Liverpool

Premier League – Ten-man United claim point at Villa

Shit Headlines like this make me wanna break something why not resilient arsenal beak Liverpool and Lucky United drops point

  31. A

ritesh I still think he was the man we were very close to signing.

We had it arranged to sign Saha, Everton had deal arranged with Milan for Huntelaar, but all hinged on Milan getting Keirrison. He rejected Milan, who pulled the deal for Huntelaar with Everton, who therefore wouldn’t let Saha go.

Window closed and as it wasn’t possible Saha put pen to paper on a new contract with Everton

  32. zeus

WhaT is important now is to go on to have the kind of 2nd half of season United had, when they steamroled everyone else outside the top four.

Draws certainly won’t do it nor will weakened teams because we have CL opposition coming up.

  33. Gooby

A- yes, sort of. but if a player got the nationality you can’t deny him playing for the country. they should make a rule for players to choose at the age of 18 IMO.

As for managers and staff. what the point of being the national team if you get forigners. it should represent the country in all aspect of the game.

    i love diaby btw

  34. TonyS

I really started to believe we’d get 3 pts when we got through the mandatory “Clichy Mistake” without them scoring!!

  35. A

we’ve got pretty nice fixtures with regards to champs league zeus, pretty convenient!

    Break before Porto away,
    Burnley home before Porto home

    if we get through

Brum away before first leg – that isn’t great
    Wolves home before second leg.

  36. gambon

I dont think its a question of Theo “coming good”

“coming good” is what you do when you are talented and need to iron out flaws in your game.

Theo has little talent, hes just a sprinter. He is worse now than he was 4 years ago. Very worrying.

  37. zeus

    ——————————————————

Very true. TV5 broke from defence and he is pointing to the back post while making his run, Walcott makes a low pass to the central area.

Passing to Reina was stupid, maybe he saw what Clichy saw when he left the back post vs Chelsea.

Speaking of which its so funny to see us close down DEGEN when he gets the ball, but when Drogba/ Rooney has it no one dears to step forward and challenge, everyone just backs off.

  38. gambon

There isnt a team in the league good enough to win 6 in a row, let alone 12.

I think we can afford to drop 3 points max, maybe not even that.

  39. nishanth

Donovan looks top class!!!..We could have done with someone like him.

Bendtner played really well for someone who is not totally fit.Great work rate

  40. Swed

Certainly do not want to be negative after a win. But Walcott did nothing during the few minutes he played, besides the two idiotic things I mentioned earlier,

  41. A

Gooby, I’ve thought about that before, but I’d go a step further, managers, all staff, physios, all the kit has to be manufactured by domestic manufacturers, in that country.

Can’t travel to games in foreign made vehicles either, would add a nice wacky racers type element to games, world cups especially.

I don’t agree with the deciding at 18 though. If someone moves at 20, lives in that country for 5 years, adapts to the culture, pays taxes etc, they contribute as much to that country as anyone who was born there, and feels a loyalty to that country, then at 25 I don’t have a problem with them becoming of that country and playing for the national team.

More so than the opposite, people who don’t live in that country, don’t contribute anything to the culture or economy, but who’s grandparents conceived one of their parents whilst joining the mile high club with the plane midair over that country, somehow being eligible

  42. A

gambon I don’t agree there, theo does have class, his movement is on par with ljungbergs. He just needs some confidence with his final balls, and he’ll be a real asset.

  43. Gooby

the key is not to expect too much from walcott, let him have some games and if he can’t make it then he won’t and he will be off to the championship or something.

    make it or break it.

last season we said diaby is a make it or break it and he made it.

let’s talk about something else walcott is just a detail

  44. gambon

    Gooby

The problem is Arsene will never admit defeat with Theo.

After splashing £9.1m on a 16 year old he wont wanna be proved wrong. Also the english press would crucify him.

  45. Gooby

    gambon

pennant was expensive too but wenger sold him. maybe wenger just belives in theo like he belives in song, diaby, ramsey…

  46. A

Theo doesn’t have the terrible attitude of Pennant Gooby, which would certainly work in his favour. Also the fact that he’s shown glimpses of what he’s capable of, but injuries have really fucked with his development.

I was upset that Pennant didn’t make it though

  47. Big Raddy

I shouldn’t be picky on such a great night but …..

I cannot understand why when we are one up AW decides to go defensive. Why bring on Sagna? Why not leave Nik on and make them play with a 3 man defence.

Leaving only Theo upfront shortened the play and made our midfield back onto the defence. We had no outlet and the Dippers nearly took advantage.

AW almost always does this. It is such a negative tactic and has cost us many points over the years.

  48. A

Raddy Bendtner looked absolutely knackered to me the whole second half. We need him at Porto, would’ve risked him injuring him keeping him on.

I agree though, was far from ideal, but don’t see how there was any alternative. Was thinking Diaby up there, but we needed him in the midfield.

  49. A

Gooby it’s because it was a record fee for a player of his age at the time. Was it a world record fee, or just British record?

  50. ritesh

Walcott needs to become more like a street footballer if his decision making is to improve. He cannot expect to have everything on a plate. He needs more practice.

A guy like Zidane use to play, yes on the streets of Marseille even when he was a professional footballer at Bordeaux.

  51. Big Raddy

    A. Did we have no forwards on the bench.? They didn’t put up that info on Danish TV…. who BTW were apoplectic about the Nik yellow card and showed over and over that Agger (another Dane) fouled him. But then NB is a big hero over here….

  52. Big Raddy

    Gambon. Must be the Alzheimers……

But I think you will have to swallow one on TW. He will come good, but that of course is only my opinion.

Bet you a Peroni that Theo scores 6 or more next season.

  53. A

Not in the slightest zeus, you don’t get much less patriotic than me! I generally think much less of British players, shocking attitudes, technically retarded, thuggish etc etc

  54. Gooby

zidane is the most gifted players i’ve seen. when he touched the ball it was nothing short of magic. his skills, passes, moving with ball…everything. a joy to watch and i don’t think there will ever be someone like him again.

if nasri was the next zidane i would be in heaven

  55. finestcuts

It’s great to see Diaby becoming the player we all hoped he would, he loves having a go at goal.

It’s nice to see that Chelsea got too arrogant after beating us and didn’t give Everton enough respect, and United are beginning to look like a team influenced mainly by Wayne Rooney’s goals. How many can they win without Rooney’s goals?

  56. Stu

Thats a bit mean on Ronaldo Gambon. He was one of the best strkers ever..only got fat towards the end. Nasri is just tubby..

I tell you what. Terry was fucking shit today. He won nothing in the air….we should be ashamed of losing to chelsea tbh.

  57. A

finest I wouldn’t say that’s what happened with Chelsea at all.

Chelsea just played as the team they are – someone who’s only won one away game since they beat us at the Emirates in November!

I agree, if Rooney just goes off form, or gets injured, Utd are totally buggered. They really can’t rely on OG to score all their goals for them….

  58. Gooby

imagine rooney gets a 2 months injury. how do you think untd will do without him?

they would draw too many games imo and drop to 3rd

  59. A

I dunno Stu, they’re still pretty exceptional at home. Losing the game at the Emirates though really was embarrassing! Terry and Cech were poor today, as they have been most of the season!

  60. Gunnersmith

“It is a fantastic night for the club,” Wenger said.

“It is a massive result for us after being massively disappointed in the last two games.

“The players showed great mental strength against a very disciplined team.

“Nobody can imagine how hard it is to play Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool on the trot without having time to recover.

“To now be only six points behind is great.”

    ================================================

I think i’ll start a blog called Mental Strength

  61. zeus

Gosh I hope we get back our December form. With the run of games that we have coming and the pressure being off these chokers then we could be in a strong position in the next month.

  62. A

We kinda did, they were just so much better defensively than us. We dominated possession, and played more football than them, but they beat us which is all that mattered.

Defensively we were hopeless against them, just hope something changes in the champs league with regards to that!

  63. A

Gunnersmith Denilson wasn’t “dropped”, he’s a squad member and has been all season, he’s only played when Diaby or Song have been unavailable.

  64. Maqitlarge

Hansen is a proper cunt isn’t he?!
If that was Liverpool, Man U or Chelsea 6 points behind with the same games for all to play, he’d be talking it up big time.

Now I don’t think we’ll do it, but while we have an outside chance I’m fully behind the team.

I hope we fucking do it if only to see what he’s got to say.

Oh, and by the way. Hansen predicted we’d beat Man U!!!!!

  65. gambon

I think we need both personnel changes & a defensive coach, and a lot of hours on the changing ground A.

I read a really good article once about Arrigo Saachi and how he trained his teams. They used to do defensive drills over and over til they were perfect, i think George Graham did the same thing.

I think you can safely say we dont do that!
