Another season goes by, when will we learn? My guess? We won’t.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

So now that the dust has settled on our hammering to the Mancs, where do we go from here? Another season in tatters, save for any of you out there that continue to believe in the rhetoric of ‘this team has great mental strength’ and maybe we can win the Champions league.

Well when we got beaten by the Mancs it brought back the memories of when we had got beaten by them the season before, what was different to the previous season? We bought Vermaelen in and we sold Kolo and Ade, then we played all the chasing pack and did well, Liverpool aside (and they are hopeless this season) we played no one that is capable of finishing in the top 4, aside from Villa and we got lucky with a point.

Next up we played the Mancs, and our manager said we weren’t the same team that lost to them the last time we played them at the Grove, he was right, we were worse, they had no Ronaldo and no Tevez, they had no Ferdinand or Vidic, and we still lost by the same score, this team has great mental strength…? Half this team are babies and don’t fight.

So after that debacle the manager went out and bought in some much needed talent? Oops, no, he didn’t, so what have we learned? Nothing, that’s what. What we did do was remove Phil off the wage bill so that will further enhance the management bonus. Great, at least someone at Arsenal benefits.

How disappointing for us fans, how many games did we have to suffer a second rate centre back in Senderos, I like Phil, but he was never going to be a Tony Adams, a Steve Bould or a Martin Keown, but after watching him for 4 or more years, he was packed off without a word, did Wenger say, I got that wrong, sorry for putting you all through it? No he did not. He only say things like that if they come good.

Now we have to watch a rubbish keeper and a woeful defensive midfielder, yes I will admit Song has finally come good but Denilson? He cost us yet again and the only one who can’t see it is the guy we happily pay £6million a year not to buy decent players.

It’s not like all these kids come cheap, Theo was £8mil, Denilson was £3.8mil Ramsey was £5mil, I dread to think what the true cost is if you add up their salaries. If he wants to persevere with a young player, throw Ramsey in, at least you can see he has talent.

We just beat the Mancs to another 16 year old, great, how old will you be when he gets good? If indeed he does. Another 8 year wait, hmmm, there’s something to look forward to in your old age.

I believe that we play too many, too young, their bodies haven’t developed and that’s why they pick up the injuries they do, look at Michael Owen!

Yes there are exceptions, Rooney, Fabregas and Messi, but if you want to know why our kids get injured, it’s youth, they are too young.

At best now, even if we win the league next year that will make it 7 barren years, that is just not acceptable, what other world class team puts up with that? If that’s the deal, drop the prices to reflect the fact you don’t want to win two of the trophies on offer and you don’t intend to invest in talent. We don’t have to go bust, just spend what’s available, if he thinks he can’t buy better than Denilson or Almunia, then there is something wrong with him.

Wenger has done more for us etc, etc. We won the double in 98 and 02, we won the league in 2004 and the last trophy in 2005, what was the common denominator? We spent money, and the double seasons he inherited half his team from the previous managers.

We had a great chance this year, we had £40 million to spend just from 2 players we sold, never mind the prize money and all the other bits, he refused to bring in players, all the pundits, journo’s, ex players and existing players were saying it, he doesn’t and we win nothing, so who’s right?

I don’t expect us to win on Sunday, I have turned down a seat in the Chelsea directors box because I refuse to watch the hapless two embarrass us again, I am fed up with this stupid policy and don’t understand why we bought in a huge management team with Ivan, what’s changed, Arsene still rules supreme, no one challenges him and this will go on until he decides to retire.

We have been a lone voice for 2 years now and finally the other blogs are feeling the same, at last, maybe now the board will begin to realise the gravy train is about to end.

Gazidas met with someone from Milan to discuss the sad state of the game, he should meet with his own manager and ask that question, the game is being ruined by crazy wages, and we are top of the league for those. Arsenal, get your own house in order before you criticise others.

I’m sorry to sound so negative but the manager and his policy are doing that, not me.

We didn’t lose to the Mancs for any other reason than a crazy team selection with so many poor players who don’t seem to care.

Time for a clear out and frankly I don’t care who.

Arsene, if you don’t watch it, Cesc will be chosing a house in Catalunia, because he’ll win nothing here.

Have a nice day Grovers, my season has once again been well and truly ruined, and please don’t mention the Champions league, the way we’re going we won’t even qualify for that next term.

    Hi Ethan,

Mostly agree with you re Nikki B mate but not about Dudu.

I think Dudu will play great with Nikki B up top and Arshavin Fab 1 either side of them.

Dudu has looked good just before his injury and with Nikki holding things up and laying things off he would be clinical.

wenger will play Nikki right wing though won’t he.

  2. bnsb

Anelka Dogshit and Co were not so good v Hull now were they and although I don’t watch them the Burnley game was close too.

Everyone seem to up their game when they play us. Burnley, Sunderland Manc …..

    Nisanth

    Great shout mate.

I would play a tight 3 at the back and let the full backs do the attacking. Song and Diaby to cover the Cbs.

  4. AA23

Nic gives us a focus up front.
He’s very mobil and he’s very unselfish, he brings people into the game.

Arshavin, Eduardo, Vela, Walcott, Nasri, even Cesc play better when he’s playing because thats what they have been used to all of their footballing lives… a player up front they that they can weave around and play off of.
None of those players other than Nic are out and out strikers, look at how magical Eddy was with Adebayor, thats what he does best, he’s not a lone striker but he plays off of one superbly.
Arshavin is the same, even with a shit striker he’s a better player than when he’s forced to try and be a striker himself.

Wenger should have played Nic from the start and bought him off when he was tired.
He’s a very good impact sub,you are right, but we need a focal point for our creative players right now.
He will start on sunday and you will see how much better we look up front, we may not take all of our chances but the chances will come.

    BNSB

You are so very right there buddy. We are the Team to beat.

Never hear the media saying things like “this is how to beat Utd/Chelsea” but they all talk about our so called weaknesses.

Kick em, they don’t like it up em, get amongst them, rough em up.

    Got to go guys.

    Bye, Adios, Ciao.

    Spot on AA23.

Maybe when the twat hoofs the ball up form goal kicks there will be some one with a chance to challenge for it.

Not only is the Fake a shit shot stopper but his distribution is totally nuts. Its like there you go guys come have another go.

At least mad Jens chipped the ball to the wide players when he was Keeper.

  8. el tel

    Like your Team Luke.

Makes things look much better apart form the only major problem that is our number 1.

Senderos was not alone in the Dogshit demolition of our Players as Coco played in almost all the games where he destroyed us.

  9. AA23

    Ethan
the defence point is a good one, but I also think that the reason we are all running up there to try and score is because we are playing an alien game WITH NO FUCKING STRIKER!
none at all. and our entire shape is fucked because of it. the natural instinct of the players has gone out of the window because PLAYING WITH NO STRIKER(s) IS FUCKING INSANE!!!
It goes against everything they have all learned from 5 years old.
Id rather stick a “shit” striker like Bendtner
(I think Bendtner is an absolutely class player and will be a legend for us if we keep him)
up front give rest of the team a point of reference that will be ingrained in them.
I promise you that if he starts we will either win the game or at least give a very good acount of ourselves in a draw.
    We will not get thrashed.

  10. luke

Id like to see Campbell in more of a sweeper role though. Really hang back, and let gallas advance if need be.

Hopefully Gallas decides to play CB and not CF on sunday. Song was far too advanced during Utd too.

  11. AA23

    Luke
Good team mate, I’ll take that.
Almunia is a lost cause though.
I would seriously take ANY other premiership goalkeepoer over him.
    Even Robinson.

  12. luke

I really hope Clichy does not start sunday. He has been piss fucking poor of late. IMO, sell him this summer, buy an older LB as a stop gap for gibbs. Wonder if we could get Abidal from barca, Wenger does have a thing for geriatric french defenders…

  13. AA23

    Luke
Gallas wont be doing that again.
I just hope they dont try and be too defensive now. just a bit of balance and we could really start to pick sides off.

  14. luke

Surely there must have been a decent enough GK for sale. The way things are going we may as well start Scheszney or Mannone because, they may fuck up one week, but they will learn from it hopefully. Almunia fucks up the same way week in week out. Throwing balls to the other team, coming out when theres no need to, no communication, no organization, no decisiveness, no command of his area. Its a fucking joke.

  15. AA23

    Luke
    Clichy will start.
I think that roasting was just what he needed. He’ll get sent off in his next 5 games before he gets mugged like that again. In a way its done him a favour.

  16. luke

I hope your right AA23 and I guess well see. Think our left back position has been a weak point all year though. It was clear Fergie told them to use that. Clichy needs a better read on the game and a bit more strength. Im on his side though, if he can get sharp again, he could be one of the best.

  17. luke

AA23, I think the strength of a back four of
Eboue-Gallas-Sol-Vermaelen could really help us out: Experience, set pieces, strength etc.

  18. AA23

    Luke
    I would recall Schesney
    what difference could it make?
I would seriously play Traore in goal before that wanker Almunia ever got near the team again.
OFICIALLY the worst keeper in the league.

  19. AA23

I’d stick with Sagna, gallas, verm and clichy but I’d play 4-4-2.
Our full backs are far too exposed and its whay we are all suddenly saying Sagna and Clichy are shit when they used to be the best full backs in the league and make most team of the seasons.

  20. luke

    Almunia
    Sagna-Gallas-Vermy-Clichy

    Walcott for Rosicky 60th minute.

  22. AA23

    Sandy Redknapp
    Sagna–Gallas— the Vermulisationaliser —Clichy
    Fat ponce Nasri—Cesc–Song–Rosicky
    ——-Nic—-AA23——

with Walcott, Eboue, Vela, Ramsey, Diaby, Sol, Fabianski
    sur le banc

    Is what I would do.

  23. luke

Nasri doesnt deserve to start IMO. He has been awful and was more to blame for the first goal at utd then clichy and almunia. We need Diaby’s physicality. Cant see it any other way

  24. luke

Hahaha, fair enough. I had such high hopes for nasri this season and hes been quite disappointing. Perhaps he is at his best playing off a striker. Playing on either side of the CF this season he has been fairly ineffective IMO. I wonder if our current formation/system just doesnt suit him. I cant remember him having one good game this year…jeez. I dont want to go too far but perhaps the United result was a blessing in disguise. We came back stronger then ever after a piss poor first half at liverpool. Maybe it was a reminder that we are going to have to be strong and stick together over the next months if we are to win. Personally, I think we are still very in the race. Last season we were at our best after Xmas. Well see though, we need a good result on Sunday. I will say 2-1 to the arsenal.

  25. ethangunner

i agree AA we are playing with no striker ..
nik b is better than nothing , better than nasri in the top 6 ..

like eltel said he will come in from the right .
but really its clutching at straws ..

yes we can make a reasonable team up ..
but we are no match for them on paper ..

hey guys arshavin is the flop of the year imo
    ———————-
2nd top scorer from the arsenal, he cant be doin to badly ! flop of the year sounds more like alumina !

  26. ethangunner

yes ICE thats only because our manager is a delusional half – wit !

if he had bought and replaced as he went along
im sure we wouldnt be under the pump …

what if i discovered the cure for cancer

  28. iceman

The weird thing is I just don’t see him changing his ways.

Does the board have the balls to tell him thank you, but we need to call it a day?

Maybe cowboy Kroenke needs to take matters in his own hands.

    Rijkaard anyone?

  29. ethangunner

it was 3- 0 late in on the game … how many chances can you take back in delusional land ?

get into the sexyboy time machine ..

    & go back a tranquilizer them :)

  30. ethangunner

    ice

wenger and the board are pee’s in a pod !
no one could organize such collective stinginess.

from THE POLICIES , to firing placid board members , gaining gangsters in lieu..

keeping the ticket prices up and the football expectations down , its one big wagon wheel of pain :)

  31. iceman

So where the f do we go from here?

Apparently we’ve lined up a 19yr old Montenegrin CB and a 23yr old French CF for the summer.

It’s more of the same I’m afraid.

  32. ethangunner

ill leave the dick sucking to you :)

    however … GRIN …

i dont suck dick ! got close with my own one once :) but as a rule i just would rather be realistic

  33. B

Guys, Arshavin maybe didn’t have his best game, and he should have passed to a teammate on a couple of occasions, but the guy was trying, fighting for the cause, no way I would drop him. He just needs to look at the match vid, and improve his decision making…

And although time might soon come to replace Wenger, please do not replace with Rijkaard, I would look no further than Steve Bould, a much more realistic option, and doing a fine job at youth level at the minute

  34. ethangunner

    yes B?B

i agree .. at least he try’s to take on a defense
    as against PASSING OFF !

and if people are not really watching he is often double teamed .. once he gets the ball .

as other teams are aware of our limited scoring options

  35. ethangunner

    B

    i agree ,
just dont know how long we will keep him ..
especially if wenger don’t realize these players have dreams too !

  36. ethangunner

    ikon

correct , that and cesc ..

both of which i would question how many seasons they will remain loyal and with us , patiently waiting for DREAM WENGER ..

  37. Geoff

Suga, don’t worry, I canned him, Sexyboy I warned you yesterday, you just can’t help yourself can you, dear me…

  38. stonroy

Sexyboy where did you come from mate? I must say i admire your name, it takes strength of character to have a name like that, either that or the kind of character that was in Silence Of The Lams, “Fuck me”…You choose.

  39. Geoff

He just suggested Suga fucks his dads arse till it bleeds and then his next comment was ‘what’s up guys’ sad really, that’s him done for good.

  40. gnarleygeorge9

    Evening all

Ok now IMO the time is right to pull a swifty for the chavs game & do what Geoff proposed. Use The Verminator as the DCM & put Sol in beside Billy G. Its time to be brave.

  41. stonroy

I’m surprised we haven’t heard anything from Wenger, this may mean that maybe and I mean maybe he is beginning to see the cracks in his master plan.

  42. stonroy

Yeah I agree gnarley Vermy and Gallas play too far up the field sometimes, at least you know Sol will stay behind, he’s too bloody old to do anything else. The Verminator is a hard man and he has a great shot on him, I could definitely see that happening.

  43. B

Agree that could be a possibility now. We will definitely need to go there more defensive-minded, otherwise we’ll be cannon-fodder…

Maybe even play Song and Vermy as defensive mids, and Cesc just in front with a free role

  44. dennisdamenace

Morning Munglers, I noticed someone (no names mentioned) was on here last night constantly bitching for a fight with virtually everyone with his pathetic snide comments coz it must’ve finally dawned on the mug that his beloved AW is not a God after all……

  45. gnarleygeorge9

I reckon Big Sol would be right @ home in such a fixture. He is such a pro, he would just give the chavs the shits.

  46. dennisdamenace

gg – it wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to work it out fella, just scroll through yesterday evenings comments from say between 7pm and 9pm…

  47. stonroy

It’s a great idea though Geoff. If Willy stays on bring in a good CB at 6ft4 and let the Verminator loose in the centre of the park he would be an animal out there.

  48. ethangunner

at least you know Sol will stay behind, he’s too bloody old to do anything else.

    hey stonroy,

thats why they say you get better as you get older as a defender ..

  49. ikon

btw i thought hull played superb football last night. I was thoroughly impressed with their play while on the ball and their pressing game.
I thought hull deserved to win.
Although some very good saves from Myhill

  50. stonroy

No idea who you’re talking about DDM but I did notice that Sabeel is still on about the auto posting thing again, I must say it really does crack me up

  51. ethangunner

i think thats a sure way to tighten the defense

play sol – gallas and vermy .. 1 more defender will stop the excuses that defense is poor …

then you will all realize it was lack of goals from the strikers ..

and whats the point of tightening up the defense when you have almunia in goal !

  52. dennisdamenace

Just gonna play Devils advocate here, what do you think the reaction (if any) to us taking another beating at the Chavs say 3 of 4 nil and then only drawing at home to the Bindippers?

  53. stonroy

Chelsea were horrible today, if we loose by 4 goals, I think we will hear early news about who we are signing in the summer to try and appease us, little do they know it will do fuck all.
