Sky TV reporters, you’re banned!

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Ha, ha, how funny is that? Sir Red Nose has banned all Sky journalists from his manc press conferences, it’s because of them getting drug cheat Ferdinand a ban for an ugly moment against Hull.

I thought Sky owned shares in them? How funny is that? So I figured they would at least have owned the press room! Well done Red Nose, on a day when giant phallic symbol Simon Jordan went into administration and we didn’t sign anyone, I thought the day couldn’t get any better, well you know what? It did!

Maybe we’ll profit from Palace’s demise and sign 33 year old winger Victor Moses, I listened to Talkshite last night and they were giving Bostock some stick (pardon the pun) for his bad attitude at Brentford, but they had an official on that said their keeper, our boy, who’s name I can’t pronounce, will be Arsenal’s first keeper within 2 years, stick him in now boss, we need a keeper so, so, badly!

I wanted to talk a bit about Theo, something isn’t right, you don’t go from scoring a hatrick for England, doing mazy runs like the Champions league dribble at Anfield and scoring his trademark goals to the rubbish we saw at the Brittania Stadium, not overnight you don’t.

Something has gone wrong, maybe he’s had a row, I would like to suggest until he gets his form back, we cut his salary, why? Because he isn’t earning it now. Theo I have always believed in you, I think you will still be a legend, but mate, pull your socks up and stop feeling sorry for yourself, there are people on the terraces that are a lot worse off than you. In fact my guess? Everyone on the terraces is a lot worse off than you, you are a very lucky boy.

News today is Bendy and Nasri will be back on the bench tonight, which means they will be back playing, let’s hope Nikki shows his boss why there’s no-one better out there he can buy… only time and Nikki B will tell.

Song is on his way back and could make the manc game, so I would like to see what would happen if we mixed it a bit at the back, this may make us a little more solid and will bring much needed competition to the DM role, Eastmond I like, but in a Denilson way, when Denilson first arrived, he showed glimpses of potential, it’s only really this season he looks rubbish.

Eastmond could make it but I hope we bring him on rather than sling him on.

So how’s this for a team tonight then?

Almunia (Fabianski I never want to see again, and we have no choice, Mannone’s gone shopping, spending his pay rise)

Sagna Campbell Gallas Clichy

Rosicky Cesc Vermaelen

Walcott Eduardo Arshavin

Nikki and Samir to come on, on 74 minutes.

Don’t shout me down, I think Vermaelen could be a better DM than a centre back, and I think he’s a great centre back. I think Campbell is more than good enough to play with Gallas.

I also think this could be the combination we’ve been looking for and maybe if Bendtner has a blinder, maybe we’ll have the team to get us results in the next 4 games, if we don’t get results, that’s the season over, so let’s hope we show Villa who we really are tonight.

After Sunday I’m not feeling like making a prediction, I do think we’ll win though, why? Well because we are better than them and Martin O’Neil has tipped us to win the title!

We have the best record at Villa park of all the top four, and yes I did include the spuds in that assessment!

Have a great day today Grovers and no taking the piss out of that silly accent that Villa supporters have, you know the one that sounds like Benny from Crossroads, and as Jesus once said,’ forgive them father, for they know not what they are doing’

On that Godly note I bid you farewell, and good luck tonight!

Geoff mate, a bit harsh on Fabianski, yes he had a horrible, horrible game, worse than Almunia ever had, but it could be a one off. Give him another chance.

  2. zorr0

    12th Damn!

So. JET; do we think that his lack of pace could be what stops him becoming a top class player? I thought he did well on Sunday, considering his age, inexperience, playing out of position and the dross either side of him.

I like the boy, but early on, his 2nd touch was a tackle! Got better as game progressed and used his height to good effect. But he does look one paced.

  3. Goonerman

And that is how Wenger should treat Sky and their reporters; lay into them by banning them!

    Ferguson has the right approach.

  4. cashmoe

this is great but geoff i dont think he will even try vermalean !!! and according to GOAL .com we might sign HUNTERLAAR on loan !!!

  5. GMR

I think we’ll lose Szczesny. He is good enough to be playing first team football now, hence why he has allowed a poor Brentford team to pick up points that without him they’d have lost.

After this season though why would he want to come back to Arsenal just to sit behind such useless keepers as Almunia & Fabianski. Even if by some miracle he got past them he still wouldn’t be first in line because of Mannone.

  6. charybdis1966

Morning all, didn’t I always say ole 65% proof nose was a crock full of shite and had no redeeming qualities(as a human being) whatsoever?
His petulant, whiney small-minded attitude anyone who he perceives to have slighted him smacks of an inferiority complex coupled to a massive frozen McCain on the shoulder. It must have been a brave person at SkySports to have decided to show that damming film of the turtle-faced shopaholic drug cheat elbowing Fagan, knowing even the FA would have to act against ManU(thereby contravening their own rule to prohibit any action that Fergie(aka Scottish cnut) doesn’t approve of.)
Let’s use the weakened centre back pairing the Salford bankrupts will have to play on Sunday as weakenss to exploit, on top of Rooney’s suspect temperament and drive on to a win.
C’mon Arsenal – Glazers Gimps are there for the taking!

  7. RockyPires

Morning I think JET’s best position will be a part of the midfield trio just n the left of song alonside Cesc. He is creative and powerful and is better at defensive work than Diaby. A top player in the making.

Chesney Hawk is ment to be the bees knees and people say oh a baptism of fire would be to throw him in the first team so young, Well do you remember one Iker Cassilas aged 17 in the champions League final.
I dislike Mannone and Almunia as their main functions are shot stoppers, Fabianski will be a good keeper but needs game time to iron his mistakes out, he also appears to lack confidence and bit rather fragile mentally but that may improve with experience.

Onto tonight come on you Gunners, Are we on tv??

  8. Johan

I’m thinking it’s going to be tough tonight.

When the going gets tough, the tough gets going huh?

Let’s see now, tonight we get our receipt, our confirmation for this start season, we’ll see the first sign Wenger’s (possible lack of) choices etc..

  9. GMR

I didn’t see anything from Smalling yesterday to make me believe he is any better than Bartley, & I still think if we was to sign a defender from Fulham I’d prefer Hangeland, who was the pick of the bunch last night. The real plus of signing Smalling though is that it would really annoy red nose & make man utd look stupid for announcing it.

I did see that Roy Hodgson didn’t know anything about an Arsenal bid being accepted so it seems Sky were just trying to make a story where there wasn’t one.

  10. khalle

    Geoff,
I don’t know whether you are being sarcastic about your comment on the great Theo but he is not and will not be an Arsenal Great. I got a lot of stick in 07/08 when I complained so much about him and guess what!!!! only now are people saying he is that good after all.

The guy grew up depending on his speed and never really developed the technical ability required to play for Arsenal. He is still young and if he is humble enough he could try and learn it off the players around him. The cynic in me think that he might think he is too good to learn technical skills now.

  11. Cescs_MyBoy

Break the CB partnership and break the season.

Anyone with half a brain cell can see that the Gallas and TV combination has been critical to our success.

Yes I know we concede goals, thats the price you pay for our attcking football.

Sorry Geoff, once again, its a ruddy awfull idea and thank fuck Wengwe has more sense and wont even consider it.

  12. arsenalised

Duke:yeah he was lucky the bastard.
Sabeel:u probably beat me with 1 second.this week i must beat you my friend

  13. Duvee

There is as much chance of Wenger playing Verminator in Midfield as there is Franics Jeffers being re-signed by Wenger. It ain’t going to happen. I agree with you that he has all the attributes to play there but Wenger won’t want to split this centre half pairing.

But I reckon Arsenal will be signing this Moses dude. Is he any good?

  14. GMR

If Ferguson has banned the sky reporters, wouldn’t it be funny if sky could with-hold tv money from them. There in enough s**t as it is, if sky refuse to pay them that would be really funny.

  15. Duke

    GMR,
It was not Smallings fault, as Riise acted like a complete cunt to let Modric nick the ball of him, but he did lose Crouch, if he is so good, he should have done better.
    So I agree with you.

  16. E-ON

I think TV in the dm role would work with sol at the back gives us better areial ability as well to stop the hoofing of villa, chelsea, liverpool and to a degree manure!!! I would rather mannone in goal than that flapper we had the other day…bring in gigi!!!

  17. Arse&Nose

Wenger gets the worst treatment from the media but he has never banned any press!

There is an argument for us to follow fergie by imposing bans, maybe that’s the only way to get journalists to treat our side with resepect?

  18. GMR

Duke – I’m not blaming Smalling for the first goal, I just didn’t see anything that makes me think he is better than Bartley. If we’re going to spend 8 million on a defender you want a similar player to Vermaelen, not another kid, especially when we already have ones that are just as good.

  19. Johan

    Cescs MyBoy

Maybe, on the otherhand I believe Sol Campbell would be a fantastic asset against Drogba in the game versus the Chavs.

What will break our season now is to play Denilson vs Villa, not only is he shite against teams playing in counter attack but he is pure crap all over right now.

  20. arsenalised

Sabeel:u’ve been on top 4 too long someone needs to clip your wings and thats where i come in with my services

  21. Arsenal Tom

bit harsh on fabianski, 2 mistakes against a tough team isn’t the end of the world.

A&N… we dont have the balls to ban anyone

  22. RockyPires

A future Combo of Smalling and BArtley could be the new Bould and Adams duo, would think Bartley would have to play bad cop as Smalling doesnt have that tough look.

Bartley I believe will be atop player also and should slot in as say third/fourth choice next season if we had Djororu,Vermaleen,Gallas/new CB and Bartley then I think we would be ok in that department.

  23. dennisdamenace

Why don’t we keep LJW ANC send Denilson on loan to Bolton? Oh yeh I remember why, coz thf prick’s not good enough for Bolton!!

  24. Duke

GMR, I know you weren’t, I was just pointing that out, and I agree with you, silly that he is only 2 mil cheaper than Verma.

  25. gambon

    GMR

    You realise Szczesny is 19?!!!

He will be out on loan next season, for the whole season in the prem hopefully!

  26. RockyPires

If Denilson will be fine against any team then its Villa as he will be given space and they arent over physical aswell as they will concentrate on Cesc so Deni should find some space to operate.

After this game he needs to be taken away shoved into a gym and told come back a stone heavier with arms like Arnie.

  27. Arsenal Tom

and if wenger seriously believes there isn’t a CF out there that would strengthen our squad he is mental, 100% mental

  28. Geoff

Ok yes I am Sabeel, yes I don’t rate Song and I would swap Denilson for a set of Wood covers and a bag of medium size tees.

I would also swap Almunia for the same but no one would take me up on it, even Crystal Palace would tell me to fuck off!

  29. didee

    Hi Grovers,

I have an idea, lets loan out Theo to wigan in exchange for signing Rodallega. He is of a good height, plays with both feet, EPL experience, and knows where the goal is, Theo will have playing time to develop his form and maintain them in the EPL

  30. Cescs_MyBoy

    Johan,

Your not wrong. Ok, I could have phrased that better, deploying TV in a role completley alien role to him will not happen at the expense of the CB pairing.

I wouldnt be comfortable at all with TV playing the holding role. Considering he has 0 minutes experience there.

  31. charybdis1966

I beg all goners who are going to the Grove on Sunday to give that Scottish cnut a hellish time – who can forget the treatment Wenger got from the Old Toilet twats earlier in the season? When he was sent to the stands by yet another sycophantic Fergie-loving ref for the crime of kicking an empty water bottle do you remember the abuse he got from the knuckle scraping inbreds in the seats around him?
I feel the hostile atmosphere generated by us last Wednesday should be a marker for how we can make the Grove a fortress, a place opposition teams will dread going to. Let’s hope the days of Arsenal stadia are called libraries is gone – it’s up to us to howl at every bad tackle made by the oppo, it’s up to us to whistle at time wasting and it’s up to us to verbally abuse every oppo player who get’s near to the touchlines.
Every game I go to now I’ve vowed to do that – every goon should do also.

  32. Dublin Gunner!!!!

Does any one think he will play the vermanatior in dm? And I think now arsene was going to spend 7 million on smalling and failed by one million !!! To the scum!! How sad when there broke!! Why not try boltons Garry cahill?!?!?!

  33. arsenalised

Hahaha Sabeel no am not, just a healthy challenge.
I own my own business selling IT equipment in Nairobi,Kenya.

  34. izham

    morning guys,

firstly i don’t think theo deserved his 60k/week,he haven’t proof his worth..he’s been declining ever since playing for the under 21s,can’t get past his marker, can’t cross to save his life and don’t have the technical ability to play for us..his asset is only his blinding speed and that too can’t be used against team who sit deep in their half and park the bus..sorry but i think eboue is a better option than theo and can defend too..

fabianski looks lost against the potters..for now al is our best option and that is only marginally..we should get a top class keeper in the summer,Nueur of schalke04 is my pick..and AW should offload some of the fringe players ie randall, denilson, silvestre and others…those players who won’t offer any competiton to our first eleven should and must be offload..

  35. Sabeel Indian Gunner

I would also swap Almunia for the same but no one would take me up on it, even Crystal Palace would tell me to fuck off!

    Geoff,

thats my favourite comment of urs…

    about denilson,almunia…GOLDEN :)

  36. CHIPPY

I dont rate smalling either way but surely the money for his transfer would be better spent on a player that could help us this season rather than next He could snap up numbchucks or Matiudi for the sort of money Fulham want Its fucking bizarre !!!

  37. yloops

you nuts… campbell in defence against agbonlahor….. he is seriously slow and would be killed!!!!! Denilson is not a bad player at all cut him some clack, he has scored some very important goals for us this season. Admitted he is not song but really and truly they are different players. He really should be in competition with diaby for a place in the team not song, as thats hes real position. Although diaaby is great as well!

  38. Chipo

Surely the Mancs learnt their lesson when they announced that Ramsey had signed and 24hrs later he was a gooner?? :-)

It reeks of arrogance, and youngguns says that there is nothing agreed yet (also mentions that Smalling is a lifelong gunner so maybe there is still hope)

Chary and GoonerTim – maybe she dumped him and took the Ferrari with her!! That would explain a lot!

  39. dennisdamenace

IMHO I can see Theo leaving in the summer, when he’s excluded from the WC Squad……

Personally, I’d se him and buy a proper winger….

  40. Micky Did It 89

Geoff: I have pretty much narrowed it down to the two of us on here banging on about TV as DM. Others argue that it would be breaking up a sound defensive partnership, but I would argue that if you have the worlds’ finest DM, then you play him as DM. I also agree with your post on the man called Theo. Therefore i cannot agree with you on selecting him to start tonight. Form must count.
Problem with Theo, is that he needs to play to find his form. Trouble is, that takes so effing long that by the time the great moment has arrived, he is injured again. For me, he either stays in reserves, or goes out on loan. Now I don’t know how these loan arrangements work, but no one is going to pay his rediculous wages, and lets face it, he ain’t taking a pay cut.
What do you do with a problem like Theo.

  41. gnarleygeorge9

Song could be back for the manure game. I thought Cameroon were already out of Africa ;) What is he travelling by, camel or donkey. Just stick the bloke in the line up. Phuck these footballers are soft.

Back to the worry of Arsenal performances. The real shitters have been when Le Gaffer doesn’t care about team selection, so its not as if there is a crisis @ hand. Get your peckers up pre match @ least. You never know, The Arsenal may even go Top, or would that actually piss some Arsenal people off ;)

  42. Arse&Nose

Sky are so scared of man utd and fergie, they know they cant survive without mentioning the club every 5 minutes.

If it was any other club who banned them from a press conference it would be all over their website “WENGER BANS SKY REPORTERS”
“WHINGING FRENCHMAN BLAMES SKY FOR SUSPENSION”

  43. Geoff Strong

Here is a copy of my email to Sky on Sunday, would love to think that I had a small part in the Rio affair !

    “”"Dear Sirs,
After the game on wednesday, William Gallas was subjected to trial by Sky TV every hour on the hour on Sky sports news. The incident was then discussed at length on soccer Saturday and even brought up on your Sunday Supplement program. I notice, on the sky sportsnews ticker-tape today that an incident involving Rio Ferdinand is being reviewed by the FA. I did not see the highlights of this match, so do not know whether the incident was shown then, but as this is a high profile Premier League player, I wonder why the incident has not been given the same coverage as William Gallas. I have watched sky sports news off and on all day and constantly since 9.30 this evening, not one mention other than text re FA.

I sincerely hope that Sky are not afraid of upsetting Sir Alex, as did the BBC, can you enlighten me ?

I would also like to express my dissatisfaction with the comments made by Tony Gayle at the time, his comment “his ankle must be in bits” was sensationalism at it’s worst.”"”

Following this email Sky showed the incident at 11.30pm !!!!!

  44. Micky Did It 89

And another thing. If Theo is going to approach his peak in two years, he will have cost how much. 15-18m? More, I suspect.

  45. colonel mustard

Two things, I think we will win as O Neill will be inevieatably too cautious vs. a big 4 team. my fear we are caught playing offside trap vs. Abonglahor

Will Eduardo have a decent game? disappointing. great to see Rosicky firing though.

  46. Arse&Nose

    GEOFF I appluad you!

Great work. Maybe we should set up a activist group “Football for justice” and challenge every biased media organisation out there.

  47. dennisdamenace

Rooney, Fletcher & Evra might smash Manchester City tonight
    By Myles Palmer

That’s the latest headline on Arsenal News Review, that’s Arsenal News Review!! What the fuck could that item have of any interest to Arsenal supporters?

Why doesn’t that inbred fuckwit write a ManUre blog, the sooner that cunt is fist fucked the better….

  48. izham

verminator will be a great DM me think..can head, can play the ball out,has plenty of pace and has the physical presence to intimidate the opponents..

afterall AW said he doesn’t see Song as a DM but a CB..some of u guys may think it may disrupt a perfect partnership, but Campbell can do the job too..he hasn’t lost his touch,he can challenge for all the aerial duels and Gallas can pick up the pieces as he has pace..

if it were to succeed it will be a master stroke pulled by AW which is of course suggested by GROVERS here..

  49. Johan

    Dublin Gunner

ManU still have another 67 mil to spend on transfers after having bought Smalling.

It’s not because they’re in debt up to their ears that they can’t spend. My United mate told me that the renegotiation of the bonds allows Fergie 75 mil in transferbudget.

Lets hope Platini gets some regulation in place to promote healthy ecomonics in a club.

    Geoff

    Good job mate!

  50. gnarleygeorge9

    Geoff

I would leave the back 2, that is Billy G & Verminator alone. They are working well, like peas & carrots, Abbott & Costello, Morcombe & Wise, Thatcher & Reagan.

  51. nishanth

I hope we manage to get atleast 8 points from the next 4 games. What do you guys reckon will be a good tally from the next 4 games?

  52. gnarleygeorge9

Quarantine? What disease could he get that isn’t in Brixton for instance. Besides, from the T.V footage I’ve seen coming outa Blighty, no virus could survive that cold Bbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Irish are you with me

  53. Micky Did It 89

Gnarley: Back 2. They really are not that good. Ok, but not exceptional. With Sol there and TV as DM, they would get so much more protection. When Song is back, at some point, I would swap him and Verm over.

  54. nishanth

My impression over the last two years has been that, more than most footballers, Wayne Rooney really likes other players, even his opponents.

His love for rooney is really pathetic

  55. Arsenal Tom

Nishanth… realistically 8 would be fantastic. beat villa & pool draw the others

personally i think we’ll get 6. we’ll beat pool and draw the the 3

  56. CHIPPY

Nishanth, Id settle for 7, 9 would be wondefull and anything ten or over would be like waking up getting sucked of by megan fox whilst keely brookes sitting on my face unlikely yes heaven indeed ;-)

  57. Geoff Strong

    Hi Ares&Nose,
No I’m not thet Geoff or the Geoff Strong who played for us in the early to mid-sixties, my first Arsenal hero (sold to Liverpool unfortuneately).

  58. Micky Did It 89

I think 6 would be fantastic if they were against Chavs and Manure. I think tho, that we will lose to night and at bridge, and win the other two. So, six points for me. Just the wrong six points.

  59. JoeBaker64

A&N, Geoff strong was my strike partner in one of the best forward lines seen at Highbury. McLeod, Strong,Baker,Eastham Armstrong. In those days we would score 80-90 goals a season. Unfortunately, we would concede 105. I think Jim Furnell must be the undercover goalkeeping coach at the Emirates.

  60. izham

if we’re to get 10pts then a draw tonight and winning the remaining 3 will be the best outcome..we have to put ourselves clear off the chasing pack..

    ps: pls drop denilshite..

  61. Sam

I think Wenger can give a try with TV5 at DM. That experiment is far better worth than continuing with Denilson at DM.

  62. Ali Saljuk

What kind of a twat is this Myles Palmer guy ? Here we are with a realistic chance of winning the title and starting by far the most toughest and defining fortnight of the club and he dedicates an entire article on the manchester derby at the CC semi-final. He really is thick !!

  63. nishanth

Few seem to think that we will smash united at home. When was the las time we beat them by 2 goals? We havn’t done that since 2003.Beating united could give us a big boost. It could just be the turning point

  64. Goonerman

Geoff Strong message at 9.54am – well done; its people like you who will promote fair play towards Arsenal and other clubs in the Premiership. Man IOU favouritism is out of order.

  65. Arse&Nose

lol I was surprised that I finally agreed with Geoff on something, but it turns out its another Geoff!

I’ve read about those days Joe, when wingers would score 40 goals a season! I hope one day our current team can do the same :D

  66. Johan

    Micky Did It 89

If we loose tonight we’re fucked.

Two losses in 4 days will devestate the morale of the team, and that will fuck us up royally, more than anything, against Fergie’s cunts.

We probably meed all three points tonight if we’re to prevail in this title race.

This game is crucial to our current form, specially considering that on the paper it’s the weakest side we’re going to face, except maybe the Scousers.

  67. nishanth

Agree ali.At times he writes some good stuff. But why would he want to write about the manchester derby under ANR blog?I don’t think he has written such a lengthy preview about an arsenal game before

  68. Arse&Nose

AT- Song played on the right wing for Cameroon! He was ok as an attacking force but its a lower standard of competition than the premiership.

  69. Arse&Nose

The last time we threw the FA cup we didnt win the next 5 games! Momentum is key, and it takes a strong team to go from a defeat to a convincing victory.

  70. gnarleygeorge9

TV as DM should have been trialed in that unimportant FA Cup tie, not while The Guns are being fired in anger, its too risky now; then again so is Denilson. oh shit we’re doomed if he starts ;)

  71. nishanth

We have recovered well so far this season after losing games. After losing to united and city we won 6 of our next 7 games. And havn’t lost in PL after losing to chelsea.Hope we can continue that run(By winning and not drawing games).

  72. gnarleygeorge9

Its also time for Le Gaffer to stop playing Eduardo in “the hole” instead of AA23. The little russian is being wasted.

  73. JoeBaker64

Some good times, indeed A&N. I’ve seen some shite goalkeepers in my time (Furnell, Barnett,Burns), but our current encumbents make those look like worldies.

  74. Micky Did It 89

Johan: sadly, you may be right. I have a nasty feeling AW will go with Den and Rambo (both will be overrun in midfield) and Theo and AA (who will both be annonymous). Pessimistic outlook, I know.
Desperately hope I’m wrong. I would like:
    Cesc Den Nas
    Ros Bendy AA

  75. Johan

    Arse&Nose

I totally agree, I truly hope that Cesc hasn’t been mentally knocked out after the FA defeat.

If we loose this game it will be obvious that the FA defeat was the turning point for our title race this season, which was brought by Wenger’s arrogance….

In the case of defeat tonight, anyone in London up for the task of putting a horse’s head in Wengers bed? ;)

  76. gnarleygeorge9

ATom speaking of The Pass Master, by what form of transport is he due back to Blighty’s fair shores? Ass?

  77. Arsenal Tom

hopefully going out the FA cup will be a little reminder and kick up the arse that we really have to work hard to win these games, could be a blessing in disguise

  78. Arse&Nose

Joe, our kid Szechney looks like a world beater already but Wenger is unwilling to throw him in. He is getting rave reviews at Brentford.
