No one in but Sol Campbell and Denilson will return soon. I have now seen the light!

by & filed under Uncategorized.

So after the interesting game that saw us win a point against top team Everton on Saturday, fans will have to wait until Sunday until we play Bolton. I for one can’t wait.

Pedro covered the game yesterday, all I can say there is at least the mercurial Denilson will be back on Sunday, Bendtner will be back in two weeks, Almunia got through the game un-injured and we may well be re-signing Sol Campbell, happy days then, the really good news is we won’t be spending any money so we will be in good financial shape.

Yes I know we didn’t really make the most of that game but don’t complain, we are in great shape. We are in third spot in the English Premier League, in the next round of the FA Cup and through the group stages of the European Champions league, how can we not be happy with that?

Resigining Sol Campbell will be like signing a new player and Fran Merida looks like he’ll be staying, I understand Man City, Aston Villa, Spurs, Man United and Chelsea are also thrilled we’ll be making no more signings, as they also believe we have enough in the locker room.

So they are thrilled, the board are thrilled and many of our weekend bloggers that came on, will also be besides themselves with our progress.

For any of you that may be a little disappointed out there, don’t be, as we are in great financial shape, and that’s the most important thing.

Ivan is rumoured to be taking the rest of the season off along with the 300 worldwide scouts we have, as there will be nothing to do until the summer, when all the 17 year old starlets will be looking for their first big professional contracts, and we all know that Arsenal is seen as the place to be as we pay so well and they will all get a chance to impress.

I just hope that Almunia gets a new and extended contract soon to match Denilson’s, as going through the summer wondering whether or not he’ll be off to Real Madrid will be too much for me to handle.

Anyone who may be a little nervous at the performance against Everton, don’t be, they drew against Chelsea, drew against Spurs and lost to us 6-1, but our team showed the same spirit as they did when we played Chelsea, so we have a lot to look forward to, mental strength, financial stability are massively important and don’t forget, we have a very young squad.

Not a lot more that I can add to all that. I hope this post shows the few doubters out there, that we are now true Arsenal fans, just like they are.

Have a great day Grovers, I’m sure our competitors will!

If I refresh this and find you in 1st Sabeel I’m not playing any more!!

Morning all, another Sunday wasted trawling through the papers trying to find a story about us signing somebody. I promised myself that I would not spend this January hitting F5 on News Now, another news year’s resolution gone.

I really don’t pretend I know more about football that Wenger but surely he must see that we need reinforcements? Is he really that pig ignorant about project youth (don’t answer that) and his misplaced loyalty to some players who simply aren’t good enough.

I see we claimed another 60k plus crowd on Sat, we know they count season tickets sales in that number but hopefully the Directors can see the vast numbers of empty seats in the ground at games this season. I know we have 10s of thousands on the wait list for season tickets but people will only pay top dollar for average performance for so long before they stop coming and watch for free on their PCs. I was willing to pay 3k for a club level ticket to watch Henry and Bergkamp but Almunia & Denilson? I don’t bloody think so

Anyway must go, haven’t hit F5 on News Now for 5 mins and you never know……………

  3. tonyadamsisgod

Fuck Denilson and fuck Almunia. And If Wenger doesn’t sign anyone then fuck him too! Even if Denilson is fit for the Bolton game we’re still risking our EPL dreams on the hope that his mysterious injury doesn’t recur! We shouldn’t be risking it on him when he is fully fit ffs!

  4. Ali Saljuk

Dont worry guys , “We just lacked a little bit of sharpness” and ” played with the handbrake on” but to come back to 2-2 ” we showed great desire and mental spirit “

  5. Pedro

Bnsb… I think you’re mistaking ‘sarcasm’ and ‘wit’.

Geoff, good post. I agree with some bits, disagree with others.

We’re in a good position… we need a couple of signings… and we certainly need to drop Al-flapper.

In case you were wondering, I have amended all the categories of the posts… yep, all done.

  6. johan

You gotta love the sarcasm.. A Fine way indeed to state well needed criticism against AW and the Board doing the same shite mistakes as the past, oh wait.. 6 seasons?

  7. Doublegooner

    Great positive post today.

Really pleased Arsene won’t be bringing in any more experienced quality players that would risk killing our current squad.

May I just add once again.

We are in great financial shape, phew.

  8. tonyadamsisgod

“Whether I personally leave on a positive or negative note is a little bit less important.”

What the fuck!!!! That is exactly why we haven’t won anything for 5 fucking years! The guy has no motivation and clearly he is under no pressure from his employer!!

Fuck me that makes me angry!!

  9. Pedro

I read someone slagging Le Grove off the other day… they said we gave all Arsenal fans a bad name.

I think the opposite. I think the fans who claim Denilson is better than Alonso and the press are out to get us give us the bad names.

I swear there is one blog on the feeds now who solely writes about other blogs or people in the media… what a bore.

  10. Stevie

There was one good thing to come out of Saturday, watching all the abuse against denilson on Le-grove and then 1 lone denilson fan try to stand up for him, great sport…………..

  11. Pedro

Stevie. I think Denilson got a bit of a rough ride considering he hasn’t played much!

Rambo was just as bad… Diaby was poor early on… poor old Den!

  12. Val46

Geoff we also have quality and ability and we will win a trophy this season by far mr wengers strongest squad since he’s been here……..

  13. Stevie

Pedro, I think denilson was paying the price for previous games, having gone down like he had just got off the Togo team bus you would have thought he would have had the grace to at least miss a couple of games though injury

  14. CHIPPY

Geoff – You forgot to add we the fans will be very re assured by who we bring in this transfer window we only aim to bring in world class talent thats better than what we already have ;-)

  15. Doublegooner

    QUESTION:

A group of my Goons all met for a xmas dinner & had a debate.

Some are def AKB & others are Grovers influeneced !

    However I asked the question:

‘How long would you give Arsene without changing his policy & winning nothing???

We had a mix of answers,

    Grovers over to you !!!!

  16. Nickyc

    Enough of the negativity!
It might be frustrating if we make no signings, but January is notoriously difficult to make signings, especially when what we need is world class players. Get behind the team and what we have because you just never know!

  17. dennisdamenace

I would just like to add how much i’m looking forward to seeing Denilson driving our midfield forward over the next 5-10 seasons, especially after RvP, AA23 and Fab4 do the right and honourable thing by fucking off asap as they are obviously holding back this natural talent….

  18. JohnA

Why does Wenger not see what the whole world can see?

Almunia is like a rabbit caught in headlights. Surely even Wenger can see that Fabianski is improving with every game and is already streets ahead of Almunia !

As for Denilson, I feel a bit sorry for him, as I remember him making a big impact in his first season but has dramatically declined every since. We will never win anything with these 2 as first choice players.

And if the stubborn old goat is waiting for Bendtner to come back and solve our striking problems, then I think he should step down and let someone with some balls and who isn’t partially sighted take over !

I’ve had enough of being also rans when all it takes is a couple of decent signings and we could actually win the league this year, as there are no outstanding teams.

WAKE UP WENGER OR STEP DOWN !

  19. Pedro

Nicky, every transfer period is hard for Wenger. If it’s not the world cup, it’s a Sheikh or Oligarch, or it’s January, or there aren’t the players available etc etc…

    Other teams manage it…

  20. dennisdamenace

Question? If our learner manager did manage for find someone better that what we currently have, would that not ‘kill’ the current player??

  21. Nickyc

Have some faith, though said with a massive hint of irony (by Geoff), where we sit now really isnt a bad place to be. We could use a new central defender and striker, but if we dont bring them in, stay with the team get behind them and lets just see! The negativity is so frustrating! thousands of empty seats on Saturday (like every week), and a shocking atmosphere don’t help what was admittedly a very poor performance!

  22. chris

It’s not people who think Denilson is better than Alonso or will be soon or whatever, they’ve got a point of view that works even if you disagree -

It’s people who think Denilson is not good enough and there are better players that could help at a reasonable price but that things will be ok anyway.

Personally, I’d be prepared to give him a few more games unless M Diarra is actually available, fit and the subject of frenzied round the clock negotiations that will get him here by the middle of Thursday fired up for a debut at Bolton.

Incidentally, if Denilson’s not fit I’d like to see Coquelin (won’t happen though), don’t really like any of Diaby Ramsey or Nasri as DM.

Also although I think Alm8unia should be dropped for Fabianski, who’s looked a lot better this year to me, when he’s played, he was NOT responsible for either goal and made the save from Vaughn that got us a point.
I undertsand why people think he’s shocking but get it right. The attack didn’t threaten that much and the defence let in two horrible goals. None of that is Al’s fault.

  23. tonyadamsisgod

DDM – Hows it? The worst thing Wenger has done in his time at Arsenal is surely give birth to the ‘killing the player’ phrase!! Fucking moron!

  24. dennisdamenace

DoubleG – For me, if we don’t strengthen in January and fail to win a trophy at the end of the season, couple that with no proper signings in the summer and then by the start of the new season we have the same old spin about ‘i believe in this squad’ , ‘mental strength’ , ‘young team’ etc etc then as far as i’m concerned he can piss off there and then!

  25. Pezzer

    Dear Editor,
Excellent Post with a touch of LETS ALL TAKE THE PISS!!!

Come on matey….No Fab,Song,RVP,Nicky B,Theo,Clichy,Gibbs,Rosicky not fully fit….we were due a shaky performance and we got one…..If we sign David Villa, will we defintely win the league?…if we sign Buffon, will we defintely win the league?

Let Wenger do what he does best and if we finish 5th or worse, he will go!!!
If not, he should be applauded for once again doing MIRACLES with the BUDGET he has…..

Finally, i reckon we will be all be celebrating in Madrid on the 22nd of May…Destiny Awaits!!!

Please see a new website http://www.arsenalislife.com….

    Regards

    Pez

  26. dennisdamenace

That’s my point TAIG, by the very nature of his ‘i will only buy better than what we have’ comment followed by the ‘killing the player’ comment you are logically confronted by what is almost a double-negative!

  27. Missing Song

We played like little pixies at the bottom of the garden for the first few games after RvP left us so it’s to be expected that we’re going to do the same after losing Song.

Bolton will probably pull down our pants and spank our petite derrieres next Sunday with or without Fab. If we shoot twice and get two deflected goals again then it won’t look so bad.

This Wenger vintage never hits the heady heights of the early mid 00′s but then again we have never seen them sink. He knows how to steady the ship.

However hoping he finds a balance with the players at his disposal is ludicrous because whereas he has enough attacking talent to compensate for the loss of RvP, we all know he doesn’t have anyone to replace Song.

Without an adequate Song replacement over the next 3 weeks we will suffer badly.

  28. SongtheGreat

    mornin Groovers…

well one thing is for certain…the financial crisis are starting to hit the premier..and even though i agree that we need to buy at least a couple of players….and denilson hasnt turned out the way i hoped..there really isnt that many good enough players out there…for us to buy…

  29. bnsb

    ddm,

then as far as i’m concerned he can piss off there and then!

    —-

    He will NOT!

and you can moan the whole of next year too

  30. CHIPPY

Nickyc, Arsenal sold there soul to the corporate fanbase and are now reaping what they sowed so no i have no smpathy for the souless bowl we call home, Oh didnt we move to compete financially or was that just another load of prada bollocks ;-)

  31. SharkeySure

    TAIG – Arsene’s a fucking moron..??

Thats all you’d have to say to him if you met him..?? There’s nowt to thank him for..????

Morning All…but not stopping too long

  32. dennisdamenace

DoubleG – Agreed, i will always thank him for what he’s done for our club.

AW’s a bit like Jacko! Jacko pre 1986 was the absolute master, after that he will always be remembered for his failings!

  33. SharkeySure

Pedro – I really think his point is that the complaints of no signings would be more valid if other teams were finding it easier to sign people and had been doing so.

  34. Arsenal Tom

morning all, we’re missing song already, i reckon even geoff will admit that in a few weeks!!

wenger seemed a bit more honest than usual though and actually admitted we were 2nd best! its been a long time since he’s done that!

  35. SongtheGreat

    to balance it all out…

im not a wenger fan….still lets see how fergie and rafa copes with the financial restrictions put on them..add to that..we just got a new stadium…

one could easily argue that wenger has done very well…all considered..

  36. Galviniho

M.Diarra? Have you seen him lately and more importantly yesterday, he was garbage against Angola. Seydou Keita is the best Mali player and is top notch, if we got him then I’d listen to people.

Why are we doubting Wenger when we are 3 points off Chavski? We can’t just go and buy players for the sake of it. Obviously if we could get the right player, we would sign them just as we did Verms, Nasri and Arshavin.

Almunia should be dropped next game for sure, he is garbage. Get Fabianski in, he is a better shot stopper. Clichy, Bendtner, Fabregas will all be back soon for the big games.

If we could sign Chamakh then we would have, but Bordeaux will not let him leave and if you think we will waste £10-12m on someone we don’t need, then I doubt it. Gazidis would buy someone if we can get someone in.

Sol for 6 months, why not he’d teach the youngsters a thing or two.

  37. Arse&Nose

Morning chaps, I watched the game on Saturday and we fought hard but were out muscled by a tenacious Everton team. The ref was poor, he consistently allowed Everton players to tackle hard-getting the ball first but clattering the man afterwards, I thought that was a foul?

“I got the ball first” only counts if you get the ball fairly, phil nevile getting the ball then forearm smashing denilson to the ground is a foul and a penalty! Am I the only one who thinks refs change the rules every week, all we want is consistency!

After our match I tuned into Birmingham vs Man utd and noticed something, every time a decision was given against man utd their players would bully the ref. clattenberg was having non of it but the linesmen and 4th offcial were definitely effected.

The 4th official who got an ear-bashing from old father time(fergie) added 6 mins of injury time for 3 subs , no injuries and 1 goal -how did he work that out?according to the FA you add 30 seconds for each sub and goal, that makes it 2minutes!

After the whistle clattenberg was surrounded by rooney and giggs who launched the usual 4 letter word tirade, yet no action was taken. Can you honestly imagine what the response of the media would be if our players acted like this?

I never see our boys question anything! even though arsenal are the most fouled team in the league we never get up and demand opponents bookings, we never run to linesman or swear at refs. So why do man utd get away with it when every other team has to adhere to the RESPECT campaign??

  38. Pedro

Sharkey, Liverpool have no money (bar a little bit for Lopez), Chelsea aren’t buying and Man United aren’t in the market either.

How are they finding it tough if they’re not looking?

  39. Doublegooner

    Corners:

Is there any coincidence that as we cannot take corners that we are totally clueless how to defend them ??

  40. DutchMaster10

OK so Wenger buys no one in and we finish the season
with no silverware, what happens then? Surely no gooner
can say that is acceptable? Especially given the fact
that Wenger has got the funds now.

    Morning by the way.

  41. Ali Saljuk

As a normal football fan without a world wide scouting network at my disposal i can point out a handful of decent signings to Mr. Wenger and co

    a) The Birmingham cb pairing of Dan and Johnson

    b) Paul Scharner of wigan

    c) Behrami of Westham

And i am sure if i would have followed foreign leagues as avidly as the epl i would have pointed out other good buys as well. The problem is even if Wenger fancies someone like Hangeland or Chamack he doesnt follow up with concrete steps whereas Ferguson gets what he wants always has from Rooney to Berbatov etc. And i guess the recent difference in trophies of both clubs is an eye opener as well.

The signings of Vermaelen and Arshavin are proof before our eyes. A couple of good additions ( we dont demand the world of them , we dont want messi , ribery or kaka or ibrahimovic do we ? ) and we could maintain our challenge . Take Cesc , Song and RVP out of this team and we simply dont have that cutting edge.

  42. Galviniho

Behrami is Flamini but taller, a great player I feel for us if we could get him, but it will not be in January.

I don’t know what planet Myles Palmer is on, he talks about Arshavin being wasted at Arsenal, well Arshavin needs to actually move and pick up the ball to get goals and not shrug his shoulders.

  43. dennisdamenace

    ‘Financial restrictions’ What financial restrictions????

It is AW’s choice not to buy, NOT financial contraints, this club is currently rolling in available funds ffs!

  44. JoeBaker64

As one of our Grovers stated last week, “Remind me again why it was we moved to a new stadium”. One thing we can all look forward to is an increase in season ticket prices in order that Msr Wenker can continue to bring success to our club with more super, super signings.

  45. leon

i feel delinson was very isolated i feel poeple forgetting that when song is there he and delinson both play in that position delinson was in a kind free role were he both helped in attack and intercept passing tract back a little but inorder for that delinson to be effective ramsey and diaby will have more dispined and help out delinson.i feel inorder for sol cambell to come the senderos situation will have to cleard and right now its anything but that is he injured there is no info in the arsenal webite about ,he has not played in reserves so if he stay he has not played in the longest time so he will need time he clearly wants leave.it is very strange situation going on there the club are being very tight lipt on it.sole cambell would be good short term option he is experienced can be used in carling cup games.silvest good for the younger players but in terms of playing he might have been top player 3-4 years ago but no he mearly a 4/5th defender

  46. Galviniho

Dennis not in the long term it isn’t it needs to renew the corporate seats. Its called a cashflow forecast, we have debt to pay off remember.

  47. bnsb

    Pedro,

It was a genuine question. Not being ironic, I swear :)

Just noticed, Sharky read my mind.

It could be coincidence that no one has signed quality. That includes Middleeastlands. They have thrown money, have they got fair value for it?

    So
    a) Quality is hard to come by
    b) Everyone is cautious

  48. Galviniho

Joe, isn’t Arshavin, Vermalean and Nasri, super super signings? we can’t sign 5 players every transfer window, we’d end up like man shitty with a 90m loss.

  49. Pedro

    Bnsb, that is rubbish.

    Typical ‘Arsene-speak’.

There are plenty of players out there, you’ve just got to put some effort into finding them.

I guess it’s mostly dependent on whether there is a real desire to find them…

  50. SongtheGreat

i guess i answer that on myself..

under financial restrictions…players will be hugely overpriced…how much would chamakh really be worth…5-6M at the most…its a crazy world out there right now…and in my opinion….the premier.is adjusting to the real world…thats why nobody seems to do business….loans have suddenly become really popular…

  51. bnsb

    DM10,

OK so Wenger buys no one in and we finish the season
with no silverware, what happens then?

OK so Wenger buys no one in and we finish the season
    with silverware, what happens then???

  52. SharkeySure

And City have signed PV4. Aged 33. On loan. Thats hardly trailbazing stuff…

Anyway, weren’t you advocating remaining ‘calm’ last week. What happened…?? D’you spend round the weekend round at your ‘cousins’…? Haven’t I warned you about spending too much time with him….

Learn the hard way if you must….

  53. SharkeySure

Anyway I read a really good piece on Harry and his trailblazing thru clubs which are now in a bit of trouble.

Is it alright to post the link to it here…??

  54. Emmagunner

I believe Denilson has had a lot of stick unjustly. Against everton there were very few threats they made down the middle. The whole team were off key. Traore was bad and blaming denilson for his bad game is plain stupid not like he overlapped much during the game. Arshavin was wasted, Nasri was playing without penetrating and Alumunia was just Alumunia. Not like the midfield we played had any out and out creative player, they were all box to box and denilson also had to be in the final third. That game Ramsey and Arshavin were wasted. Arshavin played a couple of bad passes in the final third and arshavin is a player that goes hidden during matches. He needs to learn to impose himself on the game especially when Fab4 is not playing.

  55. Galviniho

Pedro, no, we can NOW repay the loan as it was restructured. The Financial Covenants were restricting us and the repayment schedule is now extended.

I have seen the annuals, but the fact is we need to renew the corporate seats to carry on as is. We cannot spend £40m a season. That is a fact.

  56. SongtheGreat

    Dennisdemenace…

in a market where players are hugely overpriced..would you gladly spend the money just because you had funds…or do like every other club does…wait to see what happens ??…prices will adjust..a player we could pay 15M for right now…will be at half price once the transfer market has adjusted to the economic situation…

  57. Pedro

Sharkey, I am calm. I’ve always advocated signings. However, it’s not looking good is it?

City don’t need to go out and sign loads of players. They’re after a defender who I believe they’re in negotiations with. They’ve signed a championship winning player, probably for the dressing room and they’re not too far off the top of the league.

Why are you so concerned with what the rest are doing?

  58. SUGA3

    morning all y’all ;)

    good post, very Geoff…

Denilson is not a defensive player – he was OK in the first season, due to being played in more advanced position – I see ‘zis’, why doesn’t OGL?

  59. Pedro

Galvinho, we made £35mill after all the loans were paid off, then got a further £40mill from transfers.

Plus, no one is asking for £40mill every season…

  60. xeeez

I had a dream last night. We had signed Torres, Yaya and Akinfeev. We won the treble! Ah but our financial position was not so stable.. :p

  61. dennisdamenace

Galv – I’m tired and bored of going over old ground about ‘debt’, is your mortgage debt? Coz that is what AFC have a large mortgage, recent financial report(s) have highlighted just how much money AFC is making and how much is available. We’ve done this debate to death over the past months. People drag this ‘argument’ up every few months to defend AW’s policies regarding spending on strengthening the first team. These people are AW apologists, he and he ALONE has decide this course of action…..

  62. tonyadamsisgod

Sahrkey – Thats a bit off isn’t it? I didn’t just randomly call him a moron did I. I said he was a moron for inventing the phrase of ‘player killer’. It makes no sense in the world of elite football and its just a disgusting phrase regardless of what it actually relates too.

  63. Pedro

Sharkey, as a manager, you spend what you’re given.

Is it Harry’s fault or the board that sanctioned the money in the first place?

  64. charybdis1966

A&N – that’s typical of the way the media look at things viz a vi the mankskummers and us. When the manks score a last minute equaliser it’s the mark of winners, when we do it we are “lucky Arsenal” depriving the brave toffees of a deserved win.
The fact themankskumers need the ref to overrule an offside against their equaliser seems to have slipped past the mank loving media. If it had been us they Mail and all the other rag tops would have started a campaign to have the equaliser overturned!
If you looked at the BBC website on Saturday evening it summed up the medias hypocrisy :”Man Utd denied top spot by Birmingham”(Despite Scholes staying on the pitch after a red card tackle on Benitez, but Scholes is English so the media will keep quiet about that) and “Everton denied three points by Rosicky” – the implication that ManUre have a moral right to win every game and we have no right to deny plucky Everton their deserved victory.
But of course we know how fair-minded and objective our beloved media are, so I curse myself for ever doubting them.
Of course the Respect campaign doesn’t apply to any of the Manks – they can swear at the ref and show all manner of dissent and escape any censure – just look at what Shrek boy routinely gets away with.

  65. Val46

Can you imagine the buzz in the stadium if Paddy had come on for the last six minutes? Would of drove those c…s on to a win, don’t care how old a fucking legend and chance missed nice one boss

  66. Sam

    SongtheGreat ,

We got 40 million from city for toure and ade which is more than what they are really worth. We did not replace ade.

To buy u want to wait for the economic situation to imrove.

U cant have it both ways.

  67. CHIPPY

Galviniho, Not asking for hte club to spend 40mill a season But spending the Transfer fees we received for the Cunt and Toure would be nice and would go a long way to buying us what we need,

  68. Samir

    Great post Geoff. :D

We don’t have bloody time to wait for last minute buys.
If we have the money Arsene should have already made the signings.

If we end the season with no signings and no silverware I for one will be demanding Wenger fuck’s off, I don’t care what others think it is not acceptable.
I do admit he has done a good job earlier in his career.
But we are not fucking Newcastle United. No trophies is not acceptable!

  69. Pedro

DDM, I sat through the AGM where they said everything was rosey, I listened to Gazidis say all the profit from players was available and I listened to him in an interview say that Wenger had a substantial fund to buy players.

Yet we still get the financial fear monger’s on…

  70. xeeez

Actually..a very interesting thing..whenever I read a new story headline on newsnow concerning AW I actually have a feeling whats gonna be inside the interview/article. I’ve tried this now and I have been spot on. Last night the news on “why ACN should be continued” I tried to guess the reasoning Arsene must have given, and I got it 100 % correct. Its happened so many times. I wonder if he can hire me for the interviews bit and focus on his bloody job, signing some good players and winning something !

  71. Galviniho

Pedro what loans are paid off? We still have the debt?

I like you know that this is a fantastic chance to win the league title and I agree that with a striker and defender we can win it. But we all must undertstand that all clubs across Europe in this window are taking things carefully. I personally think that if we got Sol in and got someone up front on the short term, we could have a good chance.

and the next thing up is players wages…it just has to come down…its feckin silly to pay a footballer 40k a week, that feck milner is asking for 75 a villa..hehe…what the feck is that all about eh…i hope they soon accept that people will not stand for it anymore…

  73. JoeBaker64

Galviniho, fair point, but Arsh was forced upon him, Nasri only replaced Hleb. Where is the back up if we pick up injuries at cb, how long do we have to suffer the Spanish waiter. My point is though, that Wenker will trot out the same old same old at the end of the season, smug smirk on his face, and fuck all happens after season ticket monies are safely pouched.

  74. SharkeySure

    Circular motion there Pedro.

Me concerned with what everyone esle is doing…?? Where’d I say that…??

I clarified BNSB’s point for you, then responded to yours about who is or isn’t buying.

We’ll sign someone when we sign someone, and maybe we won’t.

Either way I believe we will continue to maintain a strong challenge this season. We have too many good players not to.

    Pedro,

Is it Harry’s fault or the board that sanctioned the money in the first place?

By same logic, How is it Wengers fault if he cannot find another Arshavin, at right price?

  76. dennisdamenace

Pedro – It’s just a convenient ‘argument’ to defend AW’s policies. It would appear certain people can’t get their collective heads around the fact that AW chooses the current direction of the club. No doubt when it goes tits up again, they crawl outta the woodwork again claiming the poor sod has no money!

  77. Wiseman

I didn’t enjoy the post today.. sarcastic? yes.. funny? no…

Please can we end this argument between Arsene-Knows-Best’s and I-Know-Best’s about who are true Arsenal fans and get back to talking about football.

Anyone know anything more about denilson’s injury?

  78. Galviniho

Pedro, I agree, but Liverpool’s is manageable now – until next season when the income does not meet the outgoings when they are not in champs league.

Football is dependant on TV money and merchandising. Without the Champs league cash and corporate sponsorship and a high wage bill = financial meltdown.

Wenger and the hard work of the backroom staff like Steve bould have put this club in a good position.

  79. Jerseygooner

I will bow to most peoples knowledge on here about football and probably Arsenal and how it works. Yes we were poor on Saturday.

The top teams are dropping points vitually every week.

I do not believe that we are in a bad position and come May i think we’ll have a trophy. I can’t see the need for all the negativity though and if that makes me an AKB then so be it.

Does anyone think if it had been Fab in goal the result would have been different?

  80. SongtheGreat

    Sam…

i dont disagree…we should buy a couple of players..no doubt..still…throwing money out the window or buying second rate players doesnt make much sense either…

the premier has to change…the financial situation is feckin bad…

and Pedro…financial fear ?? wake up …its been a crazy world in the premier for ages now..and look around frech football had to adjust..the german league has done it…italians….throwing money you dont have really doesnt cope anymore..

  81. Arse&Nose

DDM – Ramsey is my role model! :)

Chary, im glad you are of the same opinion as me. and I agree scholes got away with a x-rated lunge, did you see how fast he ran away afterwards!?

When I see our team and the mancs it is easy to see that we are technically superior, but what we lack is that edge they have to moan, cheat, and bully the ref. We would never be allowed to do that and that is why Man utd have a handicap advantage for the league every season.

  82. Mr B

Galvinho get an accountanto analyze Arsenals Debt ratios and give u his opinion.

Why do u think The Cowboy and the Oligarch are fighting over this club??? Because they think its sinking with debt. Liverpool has debt problems, they cannt find a buyer. Not us.

  83. dennisdamenace

Anyone know what the ruling is on players who return from the ACN early due to the troubles, will they then be eligible to play for their respective clubs??

  84. Pedro

Galvinho, Liverpool’s debt is far from manageable.

You can’t even compare the two clubs…

Whose going to be the first to bring up Leeds today?

  85. Pedro

Mr B, you couldn’t be more wrong.

They’re circling our club because they know it’s a money making machine with an amazing infrastructure.

  86. SharkeySure

TAIG. Yeah a little harsh if truth be told…but the same could be said of your original comment.

I’ve no problem with the rational or even irrational criticsm he gets but all the name calling does my fucking head in.

On Sat we saw a new low with an ‘Arsenal fan’ claiming that he and his Mrs are convinced that Arsene’s a paedo and that his transfer policy reflects that!! WTF.

Yesterday he was back on bitching about the flak he got for his post. You couldn’t make it up….

  87. SongtheGreat

    Mr B..

i would be very careful…looks to me that americans owners just uses the clubs they buy as a cover up for debt they already have…and what happens then..??

  88. bnsb

    A&N,

When I see our team and the mancs it is easy to see that we are technically superior, but what we lack is that edge they have to moan, cheat, and bully the ref. We would never be allowed to do that and that is why Man utd have a handicap advantage for the league every season.

You are one jealous, demented, frothing at mouth rabid Arsenal fan :)
