I hate losing says Wenger, really says Le Grove?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Todays post was going to be a positive rallying call for the home game against the long throw specialists Stoke City, but when I read on Pravda, sorry, Arsenal.com, the official mouthpiece of manager Arsene Wenger, I felt I had to comment.

Question, which defeat hurt the most?…What???

He’s talking about which 3 nil defeat hurt him the most last week as he hates losing, but felt the first defeat, the 3 nil to the chavs was the worst one, because the team played well and the goals were not the fault of Almunia, etc, etc.

A manager in denial frightens me, the first thing is he is saying the team did well, bombing hopeless balls in to the dwarf like forward line the whole game was not playing well boss, it’s pretty stupid in my book. Saying that Almunia had no chance was endorsing him as a good keeper, when he is one of our biggest problems.

So that fills me full of confidence. Saying you hate losing and going north with the squad you took is an oxymoron, you were doomed before you stepped on the coach, how can you say you hate losing and do what you did? Are you saying you thought that team, against City would win??? Don’t forget there had to be a result on the night.

I am amazed at that!

Anyway, onto today, we play the long ball specialists and we have a fairly short team, maybe this is the time to bring in Kyle Bartley and play him alongside Gallas and push Vermaelen into the DM role, just to see what happens, Bartley is a big lad and maybe it’s worth trying Vermaelen as a DM, a position I think he would be awesome in.

And don’t forget, fans new favourite Alex Song is suspended,  …I think.

We should take them apart today, if we can’t hammer teams like Stoke, will never be a top four team, I say top four because I now feel that’s all we are good enough to win this season, our first team is way too fragile and our manager never seems to learn from his mistakes, how he thinks Almunia is good enough is way beyond me, if he won’t replace him, stick Fabianski in there, Almunia isn’t even fourth choice for Spain, so they don’t rate him either.

I love the way we play football Arsene, and I’m glad we have you as our manager, but you can’t be right all the time, you still have time to rescue our season, forget project youth, it hasn’t worked and you have had more than enough time, change tack before we go through another win-less season, we only need three players and you have more than enough money, go and spend it.

Have a great day Grovers, I expect nothing other than a big win.

Lol yeah maybe, whenever you enter into a convo with one of them i can say “you just got WACked!” in an american accent..

  2. Mayank

Yeah they will but so will we and you can never say which way these matches go… Also they’ve had utd’s number for a while… Pool and general and Torres in particular…

  3. AA23

Colonel Mustard, I’m only messing with you mate, I was just having a grin about your name being from cluedo.
    just a joke, thats all.
    you thick idiot.

  4. Ja_Gunner

    My Olympiacos team

    …………………..Fabianski…………………….
    Gibert/Eastmond……Bartley……..Senderos…….Silvest
    …………………..Coquelin……………………..
    ….Ramsey……………………………Merida……..
    ..Wilshere…………..Vela………………….Watt….

This is good chance to give the kids some more experience since we already won the group

  5. leon

it looks like january market cant come soon enough because i dont think this squad is cant taking these injuries are pilling up and lack depth is starting to show

  6. kelsey

wenger said traore, gallas, rosicky and eboue all had various injuries. eduardo pulled a muscle in training, but walcott will be back with disby for midweek.

we will feck all with almunia in goal, he was a nervous wreck in the first half, his mind appears to be elsewhere.

  7. SharkeySure

Leon I’m not sure its a lack of depth.

Not many teams have 3 decent LB’s, so we’re quite lucky to have Traore doing so well. Fingers crossed, he’s only got a knock.

Likewise any team is gonna miss its top 3 strikers. Look at Liverppol, they only have Torres, Man U only have Rooney and Berbatov.

  8. Ja_Gunner

Arshavin is the best CF we have now…he should continue there until Bendy comes back..I figure he will back mid-late December…

From now it should be Arshavin with Vela,Eddy, Rosicky or Watt on the left side…

On the right….Theo, Nasri, Eboue I guess

On another day Arshy would have a hattrick..plus I knew that we would get more penalties with Arshavin’s trickery in the box

  9. SUGA3

Al did better competing woth Lehmann being the underdog than he does now against Fabianski IMO…

he knows that any fuckup can be his last…

  10. WB

i wont even risk silvestre there, this game is absolute useless.but they will try very harder bcz they need to win this,we shouldnt risk any of our imp squad player.
i would like to see jet, coquelin, bartley, watt play

  11. AA23

Colonel mustard just to prove to us that you are not thick like I’m saying you are give us the answer to this simple problem

for x^n+y^n=z^n, find all values of x, y, and z for n values greater than 3

  12. Ja_Gunner

Well if Vela should not be risked then we can play..

    …………………..Fabianski…………………….
    Gibert/Eastmond……Bartley……..Senderos…….Silvest
    …………………..Coquelin……………………..
    ….Ramsey……………………………Merida……..
    ..Wilshere…………..Walcott/Vela………………….Watt….

I would love to see what this team can do against Olympiacos in Greece

  13. RayGooner

How many times did Fábregas lose the ball in this game, if someone appeared to be elsewhere it was him…
He is the captain, when things aren’t going so well, he should be the first one to get the others going..
i’m worried about him…(nice pass to Arshavin though)

  14. SharkeySure

Kels…I missed the first 15 searching for a stream, but my ‘Almunia isn’t up to it’ file was already bursting at the seams.

I’m be happy to never see him in an Arsenal shirt again.

Lehmann spent a long time telling us about Almunia, and I always thought it was just sour grapes. Lehmann’s a top keeper, he knows one when he sees one…

  15. leon

shark the fact is besides the left back position how many top class experienced midfielders or leaders do have and how strikers will score 15-20 goals a season and a cb cover is not good enough in mots areas of the pitch we dont have enough experience

  16. Ooby

AA I just realised the hidden joke. Brilliant! ^n indeed! Brilliant. it would have been better even if you had included the P(n)x binary signature.

  17. SharkeySure

Leon …we’re not a milllion miles away.

We need back up at CB and DM I guess, but no one buddgets for having 3 strikers injured at once.

Fabianski in goal for useless Almunia and we’re nearly there.

I have to agree with you about the lack of leadership though. Its very noticeable thatwe cannot turn bad results into good ones when things are not going well

  18. leon

shark alumunia is a big problem for me he clealy is not a top class keeper and cb have no faith in him at all and its lack leaders is big part of the reason why they cant keep a clean sheet at all a mean i think have pretty goodcb but because we dont have any real midfield generals in the team which we need 3-4 we be bale more clean sheets

  19. finestcuts

    Honest Bill Says:

Nice one Ooby. Is there any way that they could both lose the game??

    I wonder….
    ——————

11 red cards each would do nicely Bill.

  20. zeus

    On today’s injuries…
We had Eboue with a muscular problem, Rosicky with a groin problem, Traore a hamstring problem and Gallas a hamstring problem. We are hopeful that Eboue, Traore and Gallas are not too serious but Tomas Rosicky is out for a while. Eduardo has a thigh problem, he had to stop training yesterday. It is a little recurrence, the medical staff tell me he could be available next week.

So thats all for Rosicky this season then? How in the world can we offer him another contract?

  21. SharkeySure

    Almunia is our No.1 problem.

All our other problems are insignificant compared to that one.

Silly thing is that Fabianski might be the answer, but we’re still seeing Almunia every week unless he’s injured

  22. SUGA3

Adewhore looked as if he was trying to chat to Drogba approaching him with the stupid grin, Drogba just looked the other way

  23. Pat

    fuck me.

RVP, Eduardo, Gallas, Eboue, Traore, Rosicky, Clichy, Gibbs, Bendtner, Walcott, DIaby, Djourou all injured

    Keeper
    Eboue Gallas Djourou Clichy
    Rosicky Diaby Gibbs
    Walcott RVP Eduardo

  24. WB

chelsea will drop points,a lot of them.

but main point is i cant see manure losing points.they are tactically very astute, and their long shots are amazing.

i think we lack this aspect badly, with these long shots they had scored many late goals and had forced many own goals

  25. David

    WB

We dont shoot on goal period. Thats the problem.

Im sure we have people who can shoot but Arsene doesnt believe in shooting.

  26. WB

yeah david, nasri used to be a good ball hitter at marseille
rosicky, arshavin, rvp all are great ball hitters, but rarely did they hit hard from long distance.

though i agree its not the arsenal way,but it is very useful when teams just park the bus.its really hard for us to score at those times.

  27. gunnergetyou

So wenger’s plan has worked, we get trounced by shitty, to give them enough confidence to beat the chavs, allowing us back into the title race.

The man really is a genius.

  28. leon

pat on the surface that looks like alot injuries but if had squad 20-22 top class players it would hurt team so bad but because we have most part young upcomming players and not enough established players but we will have see how merida wintshire ramsey do i think wintshire already looks miles ahead of thoe but needs time like most these players wenger realy needs to add 1-2 experienced midfielders 26-27

  29. WB

if we can get dzeko for 20m,wenger would be a complete idiot not to buy him even if he is cup tied.
if he can sell a player at double his worth, why cant he buy a player for paying more than his worth

  30. namibian gooner

    gunnergetyou

YOU ARE SO RIGHT, I NEVA THOUGHT IT THAT WAY. NOW IT ALL MAKES PERFECT SENSE. WELL DONE WENGER. EVEN GEOFF HAS TO AGREE THAT WAS A MASTER STROKE FROM LE BOSS. GIVE SHITTY CONFIDENCE AND WE ARE RIGHT BACK IN IT.

  31. zeus

Hell yes. So very happy. 8 point gap, with a game (home) in hand. Win that and the gap is 5. Chelsea displayed their piss poor attitude throughout. Shocking they finished with 11 men.

And Mark ‘Cunt’ Hughes, actually had the gall to go into Ancelotti’s technical area after doing it with Wenger midweek. Asshole.

  32. zeus

Drogba had his moment of ‘injury’ as well, Ass.
It seems the way to put Chelsea under pressure is to take their full backs out of the game. With no width from Cashley and Belletti/Ivanovic their attacking threat was seriously dampened.

  33. Gunners The Stunners

For the 1st time this season, I know many gooners were supporting Shitty to win. Really good day for us today, got 3 points closer to Chelsea and also got our lost confidence back. In CL, we’ll play our CC team and rest all first team players for the pools game. Happy days…

  34. ardentgooner

great result….we need to keep the getting results against other teams now..and just hope chelsea and mancs loose against poor teams…. Nice weekend….

  35. Mayank

I actually think out of the top 4 Chelsea are the worst at keeping the ball. If CFC slip up i hope we capitalise i don’t want those manc cunts winning again. I’d actually rather Chelsea than Man U although Chelsea are big cunts themselves…

  36. paul

Just back from the game Stoke are fucking huge but so boring to watch. Can’t believe the comments on here when that shot hit Eboue,he had a good game today and got well applauded when he went off.

  37. WB

i hope gallas is fit for next week, torres is very likely to play,we need our best possible lineup.
anyways i think vermaelen had a great game today.

  38. Pat

LOL at the fools who are praising Given for that penalty save. The penalty was just as awful as Fabregas’s against Stoke.

He didn’t deserve MOTM, De Jong did, by a country mile.

  39. zeus

Incidentally, that was the first PL game that I watched from start to finish that didn’t involve Arsenal.

Some1 really needs to have a talking to Mark Hughes. I’m all for mind games b4 the match, but to walk into your opponents Tech. area is crossing the line literally. You almost which crazy ass thug Roy Keane was his opposite number so he could get a good clobbering.

  40. Pat

Anyone see United’s defense towards the end of the West Ham game?

    Fletcher-Carrick-Evra-Giggs

YES! that was their back 4!! Vidic should be back from the flu on wednesday though

  41. A

Huh Jaguar?! I said that Almunia is as good as Given, or at least was last season. Given saved a penalty, how does that mean he’s amazing?! All keepers save penalties!

Given has games where he’s absolutely unbelievable, his shot stopping is amazing, and he single handedly wins games. He also gives away a good few goals and points over the course of the season with very poor mistakes.

Almunia was consistently average, didn’t do the first, and didn’t give away many goals. He’s gone downhill though since the second half of last season.

It’s weird how keepers can just go to shit, Cech was very poor again today, absolute shocker for Tevez’ goal, and a good few other mistakes that could’ve been very costly.

One big negative from today for me is Fabianski not starting, I really expected him to. I also expected at least three goals, but I guess a missed penalty, hitting the woodwork a few times, and having lost Eduardo, and Theo a couple days earlier, so starting with no strikers I can JUST keep belief in the side despite only 2 goals, but is a bit of a worry for me.

  42. Dennisthebest

I think our only hope of abandoning project youth is if the American buys out Arsenal and we go back to buying players. I cannot believe any manager willingly choses not to spend money. Surely his hands are tied which suits him fine cause it keeps his job safe.

  43. WB

i was just looking at chelsea’s fixtures

    12 Sat H Everton
    16 Wed H Portsmouth
20 Sun A West Ham United
    26 Sat A Birmingham City
    28 Mon H Fulham

    January 2010
    9 Sat A Hull City
    16 Sat H Sunderland
    27 Wed H Birmingham City
    30 Sat A Burnley

they have easy fixture list ahead, especially in january they have very very easy fixtures.i fear they can cope without their african stars

    David Says:

And who was the muppet that said Shay Given wasnt World Class.

    WTF what a save.

    —————————————————————————–

Yes great shot stopper but everyone seems to blind to the fact he nevers comes off his line to dominate his area, why bcuz he isn very tall, so for what he has in shot-stopping, he negates it with his bad commanding of the area.

  45. finestcuts

Wow, that’s the perfect fixture list………..but then again Chelsea bought a couple of Champions League awards (Frank Lampard…..best midfielder in Europe!) and managed to get their transfer embargo lifted (at least temporarily) with relative ease.
