Kolo is struggling with his form and they hope to get Ade’s back as well, sound familiar?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

How funny is that then! The £40 million Hughes has spent on two of our rejects have both lost their form and it’s not even Christmas yet! Serves the bastard right. He says they have both lost their form but he hopes it will return tonight, now where have we heard that before???

He also said ‘Some clubs won’t go into the market and spend £5million on an 18-year-old. Arsenal have done that on many occasions. They spend significant amounts of money on young talent and, at times, the experience of the so-called youngsters is greater than you would think’

Wenger is often lauded for his frugal transfer dealings, but Hughes insists that a massive amount of money is instead spent by the north Londoners on acquiring young players from around the world.

Well thats what I’ve been saying for two years, so he’s right there, he claims Arsene says he doesn’t spend on big players because he likes to bring on the youngsters, but it’s a false economy because by the time they get good, we could have bought a ready made that would have worked years ago.

Take Theo, Ramsey and Denilson, between them they cost £16.5 million, add the money they have cost in salaries and then you can work out how much they have really cost, and none of them are regulars, we could have signed 3 world class players and got change out of that and they would have been ready to go 4 years ago. And yes, that included the £4mil discount Southampton gave us.

Anyway, lets hope the kids do us proud tonight and that the rejects have another shit game. Wenger also claims the experience the kids get from the Carling Cup is invaluable, he cites Fabregas, Bendtner, Song and Theo as examples of how that benefits the team, I’m not sure what benefit we got on Sunday, I’m not sure what benefit the kids get from playing 3 games in a cup they eventually get knocked out of, but there you go.

I can’t see how bringing them into the first team occasionally is any different, at least if the first team played in the Carling Cup, we would possibly win something, the Chavs will field their top team, shitty will tonight, the Mancs will by the time the final comes, but we won’t and I cannot see how getting beaten eventually will help our youth players develop.

Still let’s hope they go out tonight and stuff the northern chavs, let’s hope they show the first team what a bunch of losers they were against the southern chavs, and let’s hope we see someone in there, that can can step up, because what we have in the first team is not enough to win anything this season.

Go the kids, good luck, you have the hope of a nation on your young shoulders!

Have a great day Grovers and let’s hope we have a great evening as well! I could do with something to smile about!

    i repost
    **********************

ive almost been sent to the gallows by some on here cos I said in August that I had almost lost 100% faith in Arsene.

VP injury is no reason to rush into the market to buy if he really had a deep squad to pick from. After all we still have 3 fit strikers

does he really give a shit about defending? apparently chavs have not conceded in 8 of their last 9 in all competitions and have not conceded at home in the league since hull on day 1

if we gave a shit about defending we would have at least been 5 points better of.

assuming we drew at OT after taking the lead
    beat west ham
    drew at sunderland

the guy really doesnt know how to build a winning machine anymore. he needs a kick up the arse

  2. JoeBaker64

There comes a time when you have to face facts. We are not good enough and, in terms of winning things, Wenger’s determination to prove people wrong with his policies have been brutally exposed as being flawed.

  3. Sabeel Indian Gunner

    Good realistic post geoff

we can only hope now,we would win today.
I dont know if we can say we are confident today to win against shitty..

if they have a bad day,and our kids play to there potential, our kids could beat them

  4. charybdis1966

Nah Fran, you were sent to the gallows for saying the mankskummers/Fergie were the best thing since sliced bread….only kidding ! :)

  5. Stevie

So Wenger says he will buy a striker in Jan. I now have 5 Xmas wishes

    1) We buy before 31 Jan
    2) I have actually heard of the player
    3) He is over 5ft 6″
    4) He is over the age of consent
    5) This isnt smoke screen BS and we buy nobody but say we came close to a deal

About as much bloody chance as getting the above as I have of getting the Rolex Daytona I have ask my wife for.

  6. Stevie

Iceman – I was going to get the black face daytona until I saw that ugly prick Neville wearing one, have to go for the white face now

  7. Franchise

chary there have been a million things better than sliced bread. that phrase is due a revamp

how about the best thing since plastic tits? well a lot dont like hard knockers 8)

  8. iceman

Hughes will be replaced by Maureen in the summer!
    Fact!
Unless he manages to finish 4th.

The rumour mill is in definate motion and it seems Aguero will become a chav sooner or later.

    Sigh :(

Please explain how this makes any sense? What 3 world class players could you have gotten for that, with change left over? What do you mean by world class? Given that world class players would be earning c100K a week how would that compare to the salaries of youth players??

  10. gunner@SA

I miss being able to know that we are going to beat every team in our way and knowing that we will win something!

  11. Stevie

willhill.com are offering 1/4 on Man City winning or drawing after 90 mins. £100 down wins £25, enough for a couple of beers and curry on the way home.

No I wont bet on City…… but bloody good odds

  12. Rich from the North Bank

Hmmm…. generally an ok post man…

But have to say: that is the ULTIMATE Jinx!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hoping we get something out of the match… maybe Ade’s head on a stick??? But seriously… we are in line for a thrashing : (

  13. charybdis1966

As for tonight I see the usual pattern, we get an early goal, knock it about a bit then concede 2 before half time. We look bright at the beginning of the second half, we miss a few sitters, then they go down the other end and Adeyoffsidebor taps in the third and runs over to our dug out and moons Wenger because Arsene said something about his mother.

  14. GMR

Hello all, I must admit I cannot be bothered to post much these days because Arsenal have made me so depressed. I cannot even say I care about tonights match because the truth is regardless of whether we win, we won’t win this competition. To win it we’d have to beat Chelsea at some point & that just won’t happen. If our first team can’t even get close then what chance a team containing Sylvestre & Senderos??

I have no doubt that between now & January our form will pick up mainly because we are playing some s**t teams in that time, no doubt Wenger will then say Vela/Eduardo & whoever else have improved & we don’t need to sign anyone, whilst completely ignoring the fact we have a crap Keeper, a rubbish defence & no midfield steel whatsoever.

I used to believe that these so called youngsters would become great players. Now I just see an average team that I’m never confident can win a game regardless of whether we’re playing Chelsea, Bolton or Burnley.

  15. Geoff

So last night’s game, first of all Neville hand balls in and pretends he didn’t, cheating right?

The he gets a throw on level with his own goal area , then he starts gaining yards, then the referee makes him re-take if for some reason, by the time he takes it, he’s on the half way line, cheating right?

Yet no cunt from Sky says a word, deceiving the referee right, no fucking different to Eduardo right?

  16. Stevie

Geoff – I need cheering up, can you remember what you called Ade after the game earlier in the season? remember spitting my cornflakes all over the table when I read it.

  17. Geoff

Gooner Pak I tried that on Sunday, now I’m trying a different approach!

    Stevie, was it this?

Finally I hope Ade’s head explodes up Mark Hughes’s arsehole, and that a every Arsenal fan at the game laughs at the bastard.

  18. charybdis1966

GMR, I don’t think our defence is so bad personnel wise – I believe it’s more the lack of midfield steel that results in them being under constant pressure. If the midfield had a bit more back bone there wouldn’t be cross after cross coming in the chances of our conceding would be less. It reminds me of what TA06 said in his autobiography that when Petit/Paddy first started they weren’t defending enough as a unit and were not disciplined enough to regain possession when the oppo had the ball. Once they, and the Romford Pele got that sorted out the teams form picked up and our 3rd double came. I saw signs of a more tenacious approach form the midfield against Liege but maybe this slacked off against the Chavs. Admittedly I haven’t been able to watch any of our game since then as it has begun to depress me.

  19. Duke

Morning, have to agree that I can’t even get excited for today, no matter what happens we won’t win the cup. I would like to stuff the dirty northern monkeys, but I just don’t believe in it. That 100 pounds sounds like a good bet, pocket 25…

  20. gnarleygeorge9

I have seen the sign from the Gods. We are to be blessed. Geoff hasn’t predicted the score.

    Come on you Reds

  21. Geoff

Fatboy I let you on to explain. When we bought Theo we could have had Inler for £5.5mil so using him as an example and multiply it by three and that should answer the question.

Also we would have had three fruitful years, unlike the 3 players I mentioned, who have have not. (Ramsey excluded) But you get my point.

Welcome anyway, you are now free to blog.

  22. gunnersthestunners

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirmed he wants to sign a new striker in the January transfer window – but insists he will not be held to ransom.

The Gunners are without striker Robin van Persie, who has been ruled out for five months because of an ankle injury.

Bordeaux’s Marouane Chamakh and Italy Under-21 star Mario Balotelli have been linked with moves to the Emirates.

“We will be out on the market that is for sure – however, we will only make a decision if it suits us,” said Wenger.

Van Persie – who has netted eight times in 11 matches this season – underwent surgery to reconstruct his ankle ligaments following an injury sustained in action for the Netherlands on 14 November.

Arsenal are also without Nicklas Bendtner, who has been absent for three weeks after recuperating from an operation on a groin injury.

However, the Denmark international could return to action within the next two weeks.

  23. Geoff

Gunners, we don’t need another boy, we need a ready made, me I’d bring back Thierry, that won’t happen though.

  24. Odub

    Morning all,

Good luck and best wishes to all those making the trip up North tonight. Cant be bothered to be honest!!

I’m reverting back to my mind set from last season… Support the team vehemently at every home game, and be pleasantly surprised WHEN WE WIN!!

That way i’ll stay sane and un-depressed.

A kind of toned-down version of BBK!!!

  25. tonyadamsisgod

    Morning all….

So I’ve just had a flick through the papers and surprise surprise what I read about Arsenal was literally the same old story. I’m pretty sure that I could find copies of The Sun for the 1st week in December over the last 5 years they would be full of stories about:

    1) Wenger blaming the international break giving us injuries as the reason we are shit. By the way, he seems more concerned that Diaby got injured than RvP which a huge worry!

    2) That he will buy in January but ONLY if its suits the club – which means he’ll buy Ibrahimovic if Barca accept the £6.37 we offer them!!

Same shit, different year. Fuck off Wenger!

  26. Henry14

Dzeko. Has to be Dzeko in Jan. He won’t be able to play in the champions league but then neither could Arshavin last season when we brought him.

He’s 6ft 4 seems to be good in the air, and a clinical finishers – top scorer in the german league and has banged in a few this season in the champions league.

Aguero is good – but 40Mill and 5ft 6 – don’t need any more of that!!!

  27. Stevie

Geoff – just found yr comment

    Geoff Says:

    September 12, 2009 at 09:55
He’s a slag cunt lying barrel of monkey spunk

That has to be the LeGrove line of 2009, bloody priceless

  28. Henry14

The Arshavin story was from ages ago! They have dragged it back up because they like to make out he is unhappy, hating arsenal and to piss the fans off.

  29. slimshady

Morning all. Hope the kids win, if only so we can have another go at that Russian pile of shit team. Fat chance of that though :-(

  30. sirhenrynorris

    Morning all

We are going January shopping. I’ll have a Chamakh please. Strong, robust, quick, tall, works hes socks off. If made the move for him the summer we would not be in this fine mess right now..

  31. tonyadamsisgod

Arshavin’s best quote from that story:

“Arsene Wenger needs to buy new players – and expensive ones too. Why? Because all the talented and inexpensive players are already with us at Arsenal.”

    Spot on!

  32. Jaguar

Pretty much summed it up ,when Mr.Wenger expressed his disappointment about Diaby than RVP.He loves being a prick to the fans.Doesnt he?

  33. finestcuts

Wenger will spend in Jan against expectations. Good news, hopefully we’ll get a top quality striker. Would Thierry want to quit Barca mid season to help out Arsenal?

Project youth has shown that Wenger can make a youth team perform better than any other manager, so…..if we had a few extra top quality players, maybe our title aims could be a bit more achievable.

Hopefully we’ll see some good performances, maybe one or two outstanding performances which could lend a hand to our first team campaign, we’re certainly in need of players to help.

  34. Geoff

Fatboy, another example of wasted money is Bischoff, he cost us nothing right?

Wrong, his wages and medical/training/living costs would have cost at least £3mil, then you look at what we pay the fringe players, Theo earns £60k a week and he’s not even a regular.

  35. kelsey

    Morning,

Geoff, theo cost us 5 million rising to 12 million is now on 60k a week and 4 years on might work out as our most disapointing purchase.

Hughes is on a hiding to nothing as he will be gone by the Summer if not sooner.

I agree about the so called valuable experience being a load of cobbles, because if we win we get United, chelsea or Villa which in all probability will be another embarressment.

AW now says he will buy a striker in January (if the price is right) whatever that means, when IMO he should be looking at the defence and keeper.

Andy gray made a good point on Sunday that we matched them in midfield but neither nasri or Arshavin tracked back for the two opening goals.

We have so many players that are clones of others, therefore if he subs one for another nothing much changes.

With regards to Eduaro,he wasn’t even a regular when he got tragically injured, and he has lost at least a yard of pace and may not recover to where he was.Rosicky,is another that can’t be relied on after nearly two years out,and he needs time.Arshavin, all the wrong vibes coming from him, maybe he will be off sooner than you think.Vela, many rave about him, but AW hardly ever plays him,and IMO he is out of his depth in the big games that matters.Sagna, looks like a one season wonder, and Almunia will never cut it as a top 4 keeper.Song has improved but it’s also a bit of an optical illusion as no one else who is fit has, except possibly Gibbs, and vermaelen was a great buy.just look at our fixture list over the next month, how can we be confident.
can’t blame AW for the injuries but he has had 4 years to re address the problem, and also he just doesn’t get it that one can’t walk the ball into the net at every chance.

is shooting not allowed from outside the box,Nasri used to do it.So near yet now I feel we are further away. Rant over.

  36. Duke

taig, agreed. We all know Wenger will buy no one. He will almost buy someone but it will not come through because or price/wages whatever. I don’t even want a striker, I want a huge DM and a huge CB, and a good keeper. Akinfeev please.

  37. Fatboy

Ermmm thanks Geoff – although that does make it sound as though I have been banned otherwise!?

I remember the Inler transfer speculation pretty well and though the prices varied to nearly twice that amount – ostensibly because he was not for sale and did not want to leave.

Regardless, good though he is he is not remotely ‘World Class’. He currently plies his trade at mid-table Udinese and was not that well rated noted until Wenger took interest. Plus he is one person not three separate players!

I do take your point that we could have bought more experienced players but not without spending a great deal more on transfers and salaries.

Man Shitty went the other route and spent a fortune on ‘proven quality’ – neither route guarantees success.

Let’s hope Ade gets the red card he deserves tonight – just for walking onto the pitch.

  38. Geoff

It doesn’t matter who’s cup tied, we won’t win the Champions league this season, Wenger saw to that when he refused to buy anyone this year.

  39. RockyPires

I would think the striker we may sign will be either Henry or Gervinho. I think Gervinho is a top player but will be going to ACN. He’s a more skillfull Drogba who has a great dribble on him.

The likely of Henry is quiet possible as Barca will want to soften us up for a possible Cesc deal.

  40. Geoff

I think Henry is likely as he can do a job then in 2 years take over from Pat Rice.

Brady will have to apologise first though.

    To me first!

  41. tonyadamsisgod

Duke – I’m with you but we’ll be getting a new keeper round about the same time hell starts to be come a little frosty!! Every Arsenal fan (well almost) can see the problems Almunia gives us. Bet I would be Ethan’s house that it hasn’t crossed his mind to buy a new keeper since Fabi-pants-ki arrived!!

  42. slimshady

I just want a keeper please Arsene… the rest of our defence is o.k bar any injury to Gallas or Vermy. Having Almunia in there is like having a bunch of A’s and then an E, you’ll always be under par now won’t you, what on fucking earth does he see in Coco??

  43. Duke

taig, I think Fab2 is a good keeper, just needs to learn from a better one, he is learning nothing of Almunia.

Anyway on to the Milk Cup, who would be happy if we won it? We made fun of Spurs for celebrating when winning it, it’s meaningless, but we have fallen so far that I would take it. Says a lot about the state of Arsenal today doesn’t it?

  44. Fatboy

Does Theo really earn £60K a week?? I’d be very surprised if that is true but, if you are right, that is clearly wrong, wrong, wrong.

As for his price – it doesn’t rise anywhere, anymore – we settled at £9million.

He has been unfortunate with injuries and only shown glimpses of brilliance but the jury is still out.

Bischoff was a a gamble – it didn’t pay off but it is no worse than the dozens of signing failures made at top clubs (just look at Liverpool!).

Don’t get me wrong I do think some big names should have been brought in but I also feel players like Song are now much better players for the patience shown and experienced gained.

Buying big name players carries numerous other problems and, as has been seen elsewhere, is no more a guarantee of success. Wenger has got the balance wrong but not by much (without the terrible luck with injuries, and with a little more decent decision-making from the bastards in black, these last 4 seasons might all have yielded trophies).

  45. Duke

Wenger can’t live on his past achievements any more. He does not spend money and relies on average players. He has done all he can. Unless we really don’t have any money and he is doing the best he can. But I don’t believe that, as we all seen our financial reports, and they always keep saying he can buy whoever he wants, and we earner 40 mil on players, and earn 3-4 mil each match day. It just doesn’t add up that we don’t have money. Hence Wenger must go.

  46. wardo

    morning all,

    good post geoff.

I bumped into Sammy Samson last night. He (occasionally) drinks in my local. I went up and asked him if he was Kenny Samson’s brother and he said yes.

I told him that Kenny’s picture was the first i received as a junior gunner.

He was quick to tell me that Kenny also played 93 times for England and that he (Sammy) played for Orient.

He is currently scouting for QPR and Fulham. He is a right nice fella and seemed to enjoy talking about football (Even tho he is an Orient fan :D )

I asked him about song and he said he is a very good player. I told him that i thought he has come on quite a bit but he was shite before. Sammy said he has always been good and he has seen him at Arsenal’s youth training ground on a number of occasions.

He then said our top midfielder will be Ramsey. He said “the kid has done nothing wrong since he was 14. He is brilliant and will be an Arsenal legend one day”

About Theo…..he said he does not think Theo will make it and that he will not be at Arsenal in 2 years time.

Then the best bit, he said he has seen and spoken to M Chamakh. He said that Arsenal will be signing him in January. He was 100% certain of this. I told him that Bordeaux had released a statement saying they would not sell. Sammy said “Fcuk Bordeaux. He will be an Arsenal player in January”

  47. Odub

    We need

    A goal keeper
A giant bruiser at DM and one at CB
    A striker over 6 foot.

Come Jaunary, as usual we’ll all be glued to SSN, Newsnow and the like until 31/01/10 12 midnight, and end up hearing AW say one of…

    a) I dont want to kill (insert name here) so wont buy
    b) The answer is not always to buy. If was given £100m I would give iut back!!
    c) I want to keep this group together blah blah.
    d) After unveiling a 12 year old as his one and only new signing….. He has potential etc!

Save yourselves the heart ache, be like me, expect nothing, and be happy with it!!!

  48. Geoff

Fatboy I didn’t mean big name, more world class and ready, we’ve waited 3 years for Song and Denilson, had we had a ready made 3 years ago we may have won something by now.

And if Wenger thinks Almunia is a good keeper, there is something wrong with him I’m afraid.

  49. Supergunner07

Well thats what I’ve been saying for two years, so he’s right there, he claims Arsene says he doesn’t spend on big players because he likes to bring on the youngsters, but it’s a false economy because by the time they get good, we could have bought a ready made that would have worked years ago.

@ Geoff, i totally disagree we arent in a financial position to gamble on ready-made products that might work out.

Secondly, some grovers comment on our they dont connect with some players if signing prima dona will only make such situation worse, at least some of youngster have been groomed @ arsenal thus there is abit of connection there.

We need evolution not revolution that is being suggested by gutter press and unintelligent pundits

I agree that Bischoff brought nothing we didnt already have [Didnt offer height or technque vision or intelligence that we didnt have]. In fact i was annoying some the academy boys couldnt get games at reserves level for their development bcuz of him. Everyone makes mistakes

  53. Duke

Supergunner, I wouldn’t call De Rossi or Toulalan a prima dona, but if we signed them, they we would be much better off now.
Also remember me going on all summer about Cana? Well fuck me he has proven me right. 5 fucking mil, FUCKING FIVE. It’s nothing. Top top DM.

  54. gunnersthestunners

Wardo, great news about Chamakh. I think it’s a done deal. It’s only a matter of few weeks and he will be a Gunner. Bordeaux can’t do nothing in January as Chamakh will be free to talk to any club he wants to. Also, Wenger doesn’t normally come out a month before transfer window and say he is looking to sign a striker.

  55. Jaguar

Geoff, Yes I agree re Almunia – I have never understood why Wenger won’t focus as hard on GK position as he does strikers. We have never adequately replaced Seaman. Given or VDS would have been ideal.

It is the position I would most like to see addressed with a big name signing.

  61. raj

ive heard legends of 98 era speak. ive heard the likes of charlie nicolas speak etc. wenger is the maker of his own struggles

Gokhan Inler – “In the beginning of the 2004–05 season, Turkish champion Fenerbahçe tried Inler and Onder Cengel in the pre-season training camp program in Germany and signed a four-year contract with both of them. However, then coach Christoph Daum declared that both players were not good enough to play for Fenerbahçe.”

So he weren’t good enough for Fenerbahce four years ago !!

    GunnerTS,

It was a good conversation with Sammy and I actually believe him.

I have a hang over today so bits are coming back to me (even tho the conversation was only bout 10-15 mins).

I asked him if he thought AW was losing it and he said no. He said that AW is one of the best managers around. I did ask if he meant coach as Wenger does not spend any money. Unlike Fergie. He said Fergie is a legend. But AW is a manager cause of the amount of time he spends talking with the players and their families.

Then I asked him if he thought there was an English guy in the lower leagues that, if given the amount of chances Song has had, would be as good as Song right now. He said no.

    my head is banging….

  67. gunnersthestunners

BBK, Wenger believes in his players and puts too much faith in them to perform at higher level. Sometimes players in starting 11 take it the wrong way and seem to not care about performing well cos they know they’ll definitely be picked up again. AW should drop a player regardless of his value if he doesn’t perform week in week out and give another player a chance to come and show his worth. It will keep all the players on their toes and will make them work harder to get a place in starting 11.

I remember once Mourinho substituted one of his players after only 27 mins in a game. Eventually, they went on to win that game. In the post match interview, he said that he wanted the team to win and he changed the player cos he wasn’t performing at the level he should be so he substituted him. I never saw this happening at Arsenal.

  68. Geoff

Sharkey, it wasn’t me that tried to sign Inler, it was Wenger, so what are you calling him a bad judge of character then!

Its a little crazy that some people slate Arsenal for investing in youth, then also slate Arsenal for missing out on some young players.

I havent made as much mistakes as Mr.Wenger made during the past four years.Rather,I have tried to learn from the mistakes.Neither do I close my eyes to create a dark world outside me.Mr Wenger has been fooling us fans, for the past few seasons. It is Mr.Wenger and his desperate followers who need to understand that we live in a real world, not a kuku land, where his love children would fetch him PL and CL every year.

raj, what a poor comment, sarcasm, well done mate, must of thought about that comment for ages. I am in two minds to tell you to go fuck yourself, but we don’t do that on Le Grove, I just wish you would leave and never come back.
I don’t know why that comment upset me that much, but it did.

    Morning Sharkey…

  74. Paul88

I really don’t think a club that hasn’t won anything in 5 years should feel privileged enough to field a weakened team tonight. In fact i think he should throw the fuckers in who played on sunday to try and earn back their weeks wages.

If the game was played at home we’d have an outside chance to beat citeh. As it is i think it’s just another trophy that lord wenger dosen’t feel is worth competing for.

  75. SharkeySure

Geoff, I’m saying that if he had signed a 21 yr old for that money who wasn’t immediately ready you would have slated him for it.

Its like when you say Arsenal are stoopid for letting players contracts run down, but then also slate the club for extending contracts with payrises.

French club rule out selling star…

Bordeaux have warned prospective suitors, including Arsenal, that forward Marouane Chamakh is not for sale.

It is widely believed that long-time admirer Arsene Wenger had been preparing a January transfer bid for the Moroccan, as he looks for a replacement for long-term absentee Robin Van Persie.

Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud, however, has refuted any suggestion that Chamakh will be heading to the Emirates in the near future.

“I have no news about that,” Triaud told L’Equipe, when asked about Arsenal’s interest.

“Anyway, for us it is out of the question. Marouane is such a decisive player while we have important challenges in Le Championnat [the French league] and Champions League.”

Chamakh is available on a Bosman free transfer at the end of the season, but Triaud reiterated the player’s importance to coach Laurent Blanc’s plans.

“If we miss our aims because he was sold, we would lose money too. Anyway we won’t do anything against the wishes of Laurent Blanc,” he added.

  78. Geoff

Sharkey if they are worth something we shouldn’t let there contracts go down, if they are shit on the other hand we shouldn’t be extending them.

    Ramsey equals good – extend.

    Denilson equals shit – sell.

Merida equals – extend his contract because he looks like he could be good but isn’t yet, follow me now?

  79. Geoff

    Franchise it appears that way!

Cuckoo land sounds like a nice place to me, perhaps I’ll ask Arsene, he seems to live there most of the time.

  80. wardo

Geoff….its not a lie. Magit knows where i drink…..it is gospel.

Doesn;t mean to say he is right but, it seems the chamakh deal is 90% on.

Its funny cause I DO NOT RATE SONG AS THE BEST. I DO NOT. But I do think he has been playing well of recent times. But Sammy seems to think he is good and has seen him training lots of times. Perhaps he is better in training. Who knows……it was an interesting conversation

  81. Paul88

After wengers admission that we need another striker in january and baring in mind bendy will be back before then. Wenger has basically said. “I’m going to gamble the fortunes of our whole season on an injury prone dutch striker.” What if he got injured on september 1st? It’s sheer neglect of the team.

  82. SharkeySure

Fran. Was Flamini worth £100k a week to you..??

Could we overcome the fact that he had ‘emotional ties’ to AC Milan..??

SS if u remember b4 i said in August that we werent good enough to win the league and i wouldnt waste my time on beleiving that we could. it doesnt mean i gave questionable support but i was just protecting myself from heart break

i also said that i would love to be proved wrong

we started the season on fire i agreebut we have continually failed to rise to the occassion when we should

i bet all fans of the prem teams bar spurs hoped for an arsenal win on saturday. we let 18 teams down but deep down most werent surprised including gunners

  85. Jaguar

but it isnt all doom and gloom that everyone is proclaiming
    \————————————————

It isnt all doom and gloom unless you are a fan,who wants Arsenal to win something. Its still rosy for a Wenger fan,who is on course to see his team grab a coveted fourth place and a subsequent performance bonus for the manager.

  86. wardo

Geoff, he was also telling me about his son who was at Reading. He said the manager liked him but when the manager left Reading got rid of him and he is at Brentwood now. The guy just loves football and has an ex pro brother and has played profesionally himself.

I think it is funny that he rates Song so highly.

  87. SharkeySure

So its down to your opinion who should get extensions now Geoff…??

All joking aside, football is pretty much fucked now and the players hold nearly all the aces.

if flamini wanted to go cos of his ties with AC Milan fine but you replace him properly

    that is the point

neither Song nor Denilson nor Ramsey nor Diaby were capable of being immediate replacements. look how last season turned out

i said this b4 if wenger doesnt win any trophies this year i hope he would have the courtesy to leave. i dont want him to try and do in 2010/11 what he could have done in 2007/08

    its a fucking piss take

  93. SharkeySure

You’re right we didn’t sell him, but we didn’t ‘let him leave’ either.

He refused to sign a new contract. Thats it.

Players have the power, remember Winston Bogarde..??

  94. Jaguar

For your kind information,Mr.Sharkey Mathieu Flamini is earning 120 k Euros at Milan, which was equal to 80k GBP,when he was offered the contract at Milan.
