Take out thy sword and smite thine enemies. Book of Revelations 3.1

So that’s what we need to do and that’s what the score should be, Arsenal need to avenge the defeat of the grown ups and they need to restore the pride of North London.

After the complete collapse of the first team on Sunday, it’s over to the kids to show Wenger how it’s done.

We also need to avenge that dark day when Ade-the-whore stamped on Robin’s face and ripped out the heart of the travelling fans, and if they throw their entire team of over hyped, over paid superstars at us, then we’ll fight them in the shade!

I think he should play Rosicky, Nasri, Walcott and Eduardo as they all need playing time, they don’t all become bad players overnight and they will want to make it up to us.

We should get the chance to see Ramsey, Wilshere, Merida and Eastmond in midfield and hopefully we should see what players with a bit of fight in them looks like.

I expect to see Watt and maybe Sunu make an appearance and Eboue, Senderos, Silvestre and Traore will make up the defence, Fabianski will probably be in goal but I wouldn’t be surprised to see his compatriot who’s name I can’t pronounce, so I’ll say Wolfman to make it easier.

I know we still have a day to go until we play shitty, but I wanted us to get over Sundays debacle quickly, move on swiftly and give us all something to hope about, which is revenge and of course another semi final to play in.

And remember Ade, Revenge, that’s a dish best served cold, prepare to have it rammed down your greedy throat you horrible monster.

Adebaytheif

Have a better day today Grovers, tomorrow we could well have something to smile about and get part of our season back on track!

P.S. If you get the chance, take a look and see what sort of punishment Wrighty7 took on the chin after the Chav game here!

I heard a perfect analogy of Arsenals performance against Chelsea, the scene in Raiders Of The Lost Arc where Indy comes face to face with this guy brandishing the swords, moving them around so beautifully he looks like he is so deadly, until Indy just turns around and shoots the fucking guy dead.

  2. Sparrow says:

    top 7

  3. GARYC says:

Can’t see our second Polish keeper playing as he’s on loan at Brentford

  4. Gunner win 1 says:

    I can’t belive it…
    Off to read the post.

  5. Sparrow says:

Our Second polish keeper is great, I think he is better than Fab and Al, shame he is on loan… Every game I have seen him play he has been so solid. He is probably going to drop a clanger soon!!

  6. stonroy says:

sorry to mess up your hatrick mate

  7. dennisdamenace says:

    Hi Geoff.

IMO Wenger should play exactly the same starting lineup as started on Sunday, and for three reasons.

    1. As pennance for such an unacceptable performance.

    2. Because none of them deserve a “day off”.

    3. Because Sunday was a large dose of realism, this trophy is the only trophy this bunch of chokers are likely to win, and as such Wenger can no longer afford to pick and choose which competition to try to win.

  8. stonroy no issues mate ;)

  9. SUGA3 says:

    morning all…

    great read, thanks ;)

Szczesny must work on his upper body strength to become the next VdS – yes, he is streets ahead of the other 3 on our books talent wise…

still can’t believe how we didn’t buy Given to make it:

    - Given
    - Fabianski
    - Szczesny
    - Some Kid from South America

  10. JoeBaker64 says:

DDM. It won’t happen. AdeBarnWhore stole all the woolly gloves as well.

  11. Thanks Geoff for writing a forward looking post..
we had to put up with LOTS of melancholic posts past 2 days…

  12. dennisdamenace says:

Good to see Odub on here last night.

  13. Big Raddy says:

    Morning ALl.

GG9. I liked your Senderos joke. Gave me the first laugh I have had for a couple of days

  14. DDM,

    no injury concerns mate???

  15. charybdis1966 says:

    Morning all,
Stonroy, funny you should mention that but originally they were going to film a long fight sequence at that point, but I believe Harrison ford had a bit of the Delhi belly and didn’t feel up to filming such a physically demanding sequence just then and said “Why don’t I just shoot him?”.

  16. Big Raddy says:

Always good to see the stalwarts DDM.

Would be good to hear from Steve every now and then.

  17. SUGA3 says:

second that DDM – no fucking around this time, no ‘zis team eez still very young’ bullshit…

we are going for the throat ;)

  18. dennisdamenace says:

JB64 – I know mate, after all as Arsene said we were great, we were cheated lah blah blah…….

Did you catch Denilson’s mini interview on SSN yesterday afternoon?

  19. dennisdamenace says:

Hi Raddy, agreed, i’ve missed that facist ;)

  20. stonroy says:

But it’s spot on Charybdis isn’t it?

  21. dennisdamenace says:

    facist**** fascist

  22. Duke says:

    Morning,
Geoff, just for the record, I think Merida is suspended, something to keep in mind for the preview tomorrow, so don’t put him in your starting line-up. But also don’t just take my word on it, I might be mistaken, but that is what people were saying on here after he got sent-off against Villa for our reserves.

  23. dennisdamenace says:

melancholic, damn fucking right, what did you expect happy fucking days comments????

  24. SUGA3 says:

there was a video of an exhibition fight between a boxer and capoeira loving fancy dan on another blog – really summed it up…

  25. stonroy says:

The talk is about lending Wilshere out to Celtic for 6 months.

  26. gnarleygeorge9 says:

“Take out thy sword & smite thine enemies”

Geoff shouldn’t we fire up the old 12 inch guns & pound the scum to oblivion. We are The Gunners afterall :)

  27. bnsb says:

    Sabeel

Any idea if CC match is live in India?

  28. choy says:

    morning all..

Wenger is set to start with the kids…

The senior team needs to rest it seems, considering they haven’t done a lot lately I wonder why?

Well I think we’re going to get spanked!

Hughes job is not safe unlike wenger’s and he badly needs a win!

  29. dennisdamenace says:

For me, out No.1 & No.2 GK’s are simply not good enough, our No.3 is bordeline, but may prove to be the real deal, our No.4 definitely has the potential.

However, what that then screams out for is a true Number 1, someone of quality that the two Polish ‘keepers can learn from. WTF will they learn from that Spanish clown?

  30. gnarleygeorge9 says:

No worries BR :) Anyone catch Geoff’s staring role as himself I posted. My, what big teeth he has ;)

  31. choy says:

    bnsb nope..

they are showing just the spuds vs manc and the next day it is the Europa league

  32. dennisdamenace says:

Sab – Injury concerns?? Over who?? And for what?? Wenger continually blah blah blahs about the squad being strong enough, big enough, good enough etc etc, so therefore so what if we pick up and injury or three, use the so-called quality squad then….

  33. SUGA3 says:

Fabianski will do as no.2 and will stay a no.2 when Szczesny will be ready to step up IMO…

Mannone is a fucking disaster waiting to happen – I would sell him and Almunia, then bought a good stop gap for Szczesny ;)

  34. stonroy says:

So Mario Balotelli to Arsenal in January anyone?

  35. Duke says:

Suga, care to share that video with us?
ddm, I agree, I think Fab2 is a great talent, but can’t learn much from Al…Bring Dave in to teach him a few things, who is our goalkeeper coach by the by?

  36. tonyadamsisgod says:

    DDM – Howzit??

I said exactly the same thing about our GK’s the other day and got slaughtered for it!

  37. SUGA3 says:

I’d rather take TH back – but what about the shirt number?

  38. LAzer says:

Man City will let in 3 or 4. Sure we might let in a goal or two if they play first team with Swp and the rest.

  39. dutchmaster says:

Top 30…I’ll take that. Now to read the post.

  40. finestcuts says:

I agree Suga, we should have bought Given and also imo Schwarzer, with those 2 we’d be sound. But now is Fabianski’s time to step up. This should be Almunia’s last season for Arsenal. I also agree about Szczesny, but for now it should be Fabianski no.1 Manonne no.2.

  41. Big Raddy says:

Suga. I would love to see TH back. And so would all the fans at all the grounds we play at….. imagine the vitriol

  42. stonroy says:

suga I don’t know if that’s real mate, it looks a little staged to me. no one would flight like such an idiot.

  43. tonyadamsisgod says:

Suga – You could see that coming a mile off!! He fucking asked for that!! :D

  44. Big Raddy says:

    Painful ….

  45. SUGA3 says:

    finest,

Mannone is a non starter for me – the only thing he does is taking away the game time from Szczesny…

as much as I’d like our countryman to do well, I don’t see Fabianski as ready – like I said: no.2, a Cudicini type…

  46. dennisdamenace says:

Stonroy – Where did you hear that about Wilshire fella?

  47. Aussie Az says:

Nice pic of ade, will city play full strength side any news?

  48. SUGA3 says:

    stonroy

now let’s rephrase: ‘no one would play football like such an idiot’

    how’s that?

  49. Big Raddy says:

No Stonroy. Give Theo a run…. he wis the Real Deal. Just needs some game time and the confidence of knowing he is a first team regular. Not just the odd 30 minutes whilst he regains match fitness.

If we are going to try and sign impossible players, why not sign Messi ?

  50. bnsb

Zee sports is showing Manures game live but not ours,
but u can catch the repeat of our match against Shitty on thursday morining 7.00AM IST, on Zee sports

  51. DDM

u r right about wenger blah blah on how big the squad is, but realistically wenger and the fans know the truth right..
Is there any point to go to war against wenger and his words made,we have NO control on whats happening at the club.

the best we can do is NOT turn up for matches…

  52. finestcuts says:

Sooner or later it’s gonna catch up, selling Henry in the short run might have seemed a good idea but definitely not in the long run. I’d like to see a Superstar striker at Arsenal alongside RVP. Someone like Eto, Villa, a big name quality striker. Or Torres, something like that, Wenger should break the club transfer record to get at least 1 top quality player to add to the team in Jan.

  53. SUGA3 says:

    BR,

painful as it is to say, Theo is in the worst form of his life – he lost about each and every one on one on Sunday, no purpose, no use…

other teams give such players a runout in the ressies, and that is why our second string gets spanked by Villa with Downing on the pitch…

  54. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Sabeel

I never turn up for matches

  55. gooner-pak says:

    Morning all

    Still feeling down..

sorry for late comments on chav game but here is what i think (plus i tried to post from my mobile but it didn’t appeared!!!)

But we (fans) were in the same situation as last year. When pinned higher hope for the clash against manu in 2nd leg CL match. And saem reaction came at that time as it is now. We all hoped that arsenal will be able to beat chavs but in the end we arrived at the same SET OF CONCLUSION as last year.

I think apart from other factors (injury, inadequate player repalcement) one thing is the we dont have PLAN B. Now if a team like sunderland can break the code of pretty/free flowing/possession led game paln why cant a team like chelsea do it easily.

Secondly we need a player like PV (I havent seen him play in arsenal shirt as I started to watch arsenal in 2006) or TH14. No matter if they are not capable enough to run in PL but a guy scare the hell out of player who makes mistake is required. And fringe
In the post match when chavs palyer were waving to their fans the big screen was showing a shot of FAB4, walking head down.

  56. SUGA3 says:

    finest,

quality striker in January seems to be a must, ideally we would need a DM and a GK as well, but there won’t be too much quality around in January bar Akinfeev…

  57. Duke says:

Suga, cheers, I seen that, it’s from a movie though, called Never give up, or something like that.

  58. Arse&Nose says:

Celtic want Jack Wilshire on loan-

Fuck off Celtic, you are the whinging cunts who have made sure UEFA impose a penalty ban on us!

  59. finestcuts,

When the club owners themselves DONT FORCE wenger to spend, then there is NO chance, wenger will listen to the fans pleas for buying more experience at front and back

  60. GG9

didnt understand that mate, what do u mean,by not turning up

  61. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Sabeel your comment

the best we can do is NOT turn up for matches…

  62. Maksud says:

    Messy wins Ballon d’Or.

  63. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Re the post.

I feel for poor old Wrighty. Imagine being forced to drink Carling beer :(

  64. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Maksud, & effectively Senderos finishes 30th.

  65. gazzap says:

People are talking about Hiddink as a replacement at some stage. I dont think he would necessarily be a massive improvement. Look at his record at Chelsea. He had the same players as ancelotti has now and to be fair chelsea were not great last season. they were beatable and finished 3rd quite a way off the pace.
Under Ancelotti and Mourinho Chelsea have that invincible look about them that they never had under Hiddink.

I dont pretend to know which manager would compete with chelsea but there must be someone out there.

  66. Jaguar says:

    PL-3rd place
    CC-Semis
    FA Cup-somewhere
    UEFA CL-quarters

Zis team is so young. The whole cycle of transition to start again next season,Wenger ‘earning’ his performance bonus.Arent we lucky?

  67. Pedro says:

Gnarley, I just bindipped that comment and mailed Wrighty.

He’s going to think I’m so witty and humorous…

  68. Pedro says:

    Morning all!

Top post Geoff… lets get over the loss and dish out a spanking to the cunts in light blue!

  69. Duke says:

gg9, I don’t mind Carling, better than the piss they sell at the Grove.

  70. GG9,

okay,u r one of them who r willing to do,but ever pondered for HOW LONG one would that….

there could be a minority too,who decide not to turn up for matches..

    But…..

i feel,it is sad and very hard to decide to NOT go to our matches, but even if one does decides to do so,the question is HOW LONG an Arsenal Fan could boycott the matches..Tuf ask to have any meaningful impact…which requires months of couple of years to boycott,to have an affect finanacially…so wenger/club starts spending for experienced players….

  71. Big Raddy says:

GG. You are on fire today :-)

Suga. He is just coming back and you could point to any one of 9 players and say they were poop against the Chavs.

All strikers are confidence players. Just look at Eduardo. We know he is a fine player, but right now he looks at best Championship standard. Same with Theo. He needs a couple of starts and a couple of goals.

If you don’t agree I would ask you to look at his form upon his return from the England hatrick. He looked fantastic, and had he not picked up the injuries, would be our main attacking threat. ….. IMO

  72. Big Raddy says:

    Sabeel. Good point.

Look at how well the anti-US rant worked at MU: All that bollocks about how they fans weren’t going to back their team now they were an American conglomerate. They even set up a rival team.

But OT is packed every week. It just doesn’t work

  73. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Evening Pedro

I’ve already sent Wrighty my regards

  74. Pedro says:

Raddy, I will support Arsenal more under American ownership.

    Americans are cool.

  75. Pedro says:

haha, I’m sure he’ll appreciate them Gnarley!

  76. Duke says:

hahah Pedro :D one of your best jokes yet ;)

  77. Big Raddy

If the Club owners and Arsene are ALL mixed up,and on the same page of having to win trophies on basis of Shrewd transfer policy, what can we fans do anything to change that….NOTHING,am afraid

    5 years,can i say,for the spoilt arsenal fan after Arsene won lots of trophies,is a LOT…

i say this maybe,i think they were LONGER periods in Arsenals history without any trophy in between

i say this to highlight the need of trophies in 5 years in context of trophies won in 100+ years of Arsenal FC history

  78. SUGA3 says:

    Sabeel,

it is not about ‘no trophies’ thing – I could live with that if I saw the team that has a fighting chance of winning any – now I see unbalanced bunch of twinkle toed cotton wooled spoilt kids…

there it is, the myth of Arsenal not liking it up their faces comes to a fruition – being a manager, one should do his best to avoid that…

  79. Big Dave says:

How is Jacky boy wilshire doing ? was injured last time I heard, hope he is fit tomorrow to take on the mancs

  80. Pedro says:

Sabeel, Arsenal struggled to sell tickets this year and if you don’t think that shareholders question night sent ripples through the establishment… you are mistaken.

The further away from success we get, the harder it’ll be to sell corporate, the less fans we’ll gain in new territories and the less appealing we’ll be for new players.

  81. gnarleygeorge9 says:

With a bloke like Kroenke on board with money to spend, maybe its time to move Arsene Wenger to youth development, where he can still work with kids, & bring in a more “I want success now” type manager who is not afraid of spending to get what he wants.

    Just a theory ;)

  82. Pedro says:

The ‘spoilt’ fans bollocks pisses me off.

How about the spoilt players? £100million wage bill and nothing to show for it?

Who is funding that… oh wait… the fans!

You can’t charge through the nose and be surprised there is an expectation amongst the punters.

  83. Duke says:

Sabeel, if I have to watch a team not win anything for 5 years, like it was back in the day, I want those players to be local boys from in and around Islington and earning my wages. Not kids from around the world who have already earner more in their 20′s than I would have in my life time.
Without sounding racist, I just can’t identify with this lot. How can you be so lazy and have so little heart in you when you know life has given you a gift, and you get shitloads of money for doing something you love, and don’t have to work for a living past 30?

  84. Arse&Nose says:

Big Dave, Wilshire came back from an injury agains Villa in the reserves last week. Villa’s reserve team are a bunch of thugs, who kicked jacks ankles several times and he went off early.

  85. AngeAusArsenal says:

just getting over Sundays debacle, 1 hours sleep, a massive fight with Mrs AAA all for what, to watch my team humiliated because of their own lack of heart.
I wont be getting up at 3 am on a Monday morning unless things change drastically.
Ive said it before and Ill say it again Schwarzer please and someone like Torres if we’re ever to be taken seriously as a football club

  86. Suga3

if we are not beating chelshit, manures, but beating other teams…will u be happy with that…

so far,the serious bad game is the sunderland game…

  87. gooner-pak says:

and west ham as well if thats the case sabeel

  88. insidealbania says:

    MOrning Grovers,
AW will pick the usual CC team while shity will go for a strong team. Our chances of winning are not great, and so I cannot get myself excited about this game at all.
The manner in which we lost AT HOME to the chavs was so demeaning that right now I have no love at all for those who were selected to play.
A change is needed at our club because this drama series has run its course.
Getting 3rd position in the league is achievable but since when was 3rd good enough for out club?
RVP is out for the rest of the season and I bet you that AW will not get a replacement. Our Season is over, so the only hope of winning something will be in the cups. We will be knocked out of CC tomorrow, we may reach the latter stages of FA cup and CL, but what is the point because as soon as we face strong opposition the players will begin to crumble.

  89. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Pedro

The Club always hits the fans hard. I remember when entry fees for the fans on the North Bank went up 25% in one hit. From £4 to £5 :)

  90. Duke says:

Peds, is my comment in moderation or just run off?
Fuck it, the main points off it:

Sabeel, if we not going to win shit, then I want our players to be from and in around Islington, earning my wages. Not 20 year old kids from half way around the world, having earner more that I have in a lifetime. They have no heart or desire and don’t feel anything for the club, unlike us fans.

  91. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Evening AAA

You going to take in the draw this weekend. Hope we get England

  92. goonermichael says:

I’m going to watch tomorrows game with the same mindset as Suturday and hope it’s not to embarrassing.

  93. Pedro,

I agree that the lesser the success, the less attractive we become.
    but my question is..
HOW LONG can a Arsenal Truly stay away from watching the games
Can you/we put in a number there please,in units of days, weeks, months, years???????

We need to stay away from matches real long to have any financial affect on the club,in Terms of GATE_TICKETS_REVENURE..

  94. goonermichael says:

And you only earned 10 shillings a week pedro

  95. goonermichael says:

    inside
3rd is good enough since we started coming 4th every year ;)

  96. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    10 shillings a week???? Luxury

  97. AngeAusArsenal says:

    Hey Gnarley,

Id love the poms, the Yanks, beacuse their coach belittled us before the last world cup and the Kiwis.
I think Mrs AAA would divorce me if i stayed up for that though.isnt it really early monday morning again.

  98. Lewyd24 says:

    Hello people

Come Jan we should make a bid for Steven Gerrard. My thinking is that he knows Liverpool wont win anything for the next 3 years and he is willing to listen to offers. Put a 30m offer in and see what happens. Fok all to lose really.Sell Diaby for 10m and a couple others for another 10m and he will only cost us 10m. He is 29 now so they cant expect 50m for Gerrard.

    What you guys think?

  99. insidealbania says:

Sabeel, we are the fans of the club, why should we stay away? the players should fuck off if they are not good enough.

  100. goonermichael says:

Fuck I’m depressed. I’ve got a Manu fan telling me it’s not all over and we played well. And he’s serious. We were spanked by those inbred chav cunts.

  101. Duke says:

Ahhh there it is, well anyway…about the same page there Pedro ;)

  102. goonermichael says:

    England
    Australia
    New Zealand
    America

We might get out of that group

  103. insidealbania says:

goonermichael – you know that is how the club is going to spin it. 3rd is improvement on last season.

  104. Pedro says:

    Exactly GM!

Football wasn’t anywhere near the expense it is now…

Duke, you said the ‘R’ word… that spams comments. It’s out though.

  105. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Not sure AAA

The USA? belittled us? A country who’s tough guys are merely fatboys who have to wear padding & helmets

  106. Duke,

It is so hard to believe, but i think u definitely have Good Point there,
I myself sometimes feel these 20+ players are playing for themselves,NOT for the fans…

but, well the whole setup now, including the club ownership, manager etc..and are foreign, ala …its like we are all Fans of a Company..where the Company rarely feels for the fans desire, and goes and buys out a couple more experienced players..

  107. MARK GOONER says:

lewyd24 no chance, every gooner would love it, but he wont come here and they wont sell and we wont ever bid over 20 mil for player

  108. AngeAusArsenal says:

Yeah GG i remember he was interviewed before the last world cup draw and he said he was hoping to get us in the draw because he thought we were easybeats.

  109. goonermichael says:

    Pedro
When I was very young I went to football a few times with my grandad and you could just turn up and pay it was cheap.

  110. Jimmythegun says:

    Mornin all,

Glad people are picking up on the pain factor. Im not as bothered about the fact that the defeat probably means that we can’t win the title, im more concerned with the lack of effort shown in chasing the game.

The players were just going through the motions and you can bet that if we were winning 3-0 the opposition would show us exactly how much it hurt…by hurting us! We didn’t even bother to do that!

I think the players were probably wealking about thinking ‘its alright, Mr Wenger has already told everyone that we always have a bad November, and that the International break has had a big effect on us, so that our excuse.

I really have to question the wisdom of making the RVP announcement on Saturday too. Its possible that the players already knew, but talk about getting your excuses in early!

  111. Duke says:

Ah Pedro, yeah yeah, I forgot you have that…

  112. some issue now,my posts are vanishing

  113. insidealbania says:

Someone needs to tell AW that we do not need any creative players anymore, the squad is full of creative puffs. We need someone who will not only scare the shit out of the opposition, we need someone to give players like Almunia nightmares if they make any mistakes. We need a nutcase.

  114. ArsenalKenya says:

AT the start of the season, I got loads of stick from some Arsenal fans. My prediction was that they wouldn’t win the Premier League.
A few of those supporters said Thierry Henry was still a legend, unlike myself, because he reckoned Arsenal could clinch the title.

Sometimes, though, the truth hurts. After the 3-0 battering by Chelsea, it’s a sad fact that Arsene Wenger’s team will come up short. Again.

They used to be a team that wins things – but not any more.

There’s no point in trying to find excuses, either. Arsenal were beaten by a better team and I found it extremely difficult to watch the final 30 minutes of the match.

Despite a game in hand, the 11-point gap is too big for Arsenal to close.

Manchester United are five points behind Chelsea and I think they, too, will be unable to get past Carlo Ancelotti’s team.

    Right now, Chelsea look unstoppable.

The key difference for me on Sunday was that the visitors had a prolific main striker and Arsenal did not. They were clearly lacking in that department. Robin van Persie being out for several months is obviously a major blow.

But I don’t believe Wenger’s team has a player up front who could bring 15 to 25 goals to the table. Those days have gone and I would certainly love Didier Drogba, who has now scored 10 goals in 11 matches against Arsenal.

The team desperately needs some experience up front.

A couple of years ago, Alex Ferguson signed Henrik Larsson for Manchester United to beef up his squad with a player who had been round the block.

Arsenal need to do that and, in January, I’d love to see Arsene Wenger finally spend some money and bring in Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has already indicated he might be interested in a move back to England.

At least he knows where the goal is and he would be a decent influence on someone like Eduardo, who needs help. I’d even welcome Thierry back.

I think our midfield and defence is fine but the goalkeeper situation still worries me.

Manuel Almunia is a good No 2 but not a first-choice keeper for a club looking to win titles.

At times, he looks out of his depth. Arsenal need a top-drawer keeper but the problem is whether they could attract one.

A player like Gianluigi Buffon is unlikely to be desperate for a move to the Emirates.

Arsenal can bully teams like Blackburn at home and hit them for six.

But that is of no use if they lose away at Sunderland and cave in against their title rivals like they did on Sunday.

I still believe – and hope – Arsenal can win a cup this season.

But it’s a shame that the club are only just into December and the league already seems to be drifting away.

    The situation is just depressing.

The other fear is that the team could finish below Tottenham, although I am confident that will not be the case.

But the one thing I would say is that under Harry Redknapp, Spurs are now a solid unit.

They fought hard at Aston Villa in a match they would have lost 12 months ago but ended up leaving with a deserved point.

My final point from Sunday’s game is that I was pleased for Ashley Cole.

Despite getting all that abuse, he was extremely professional and the match went off without incident.

The fans at the Emirates only hate him because he is such a great player – the best left-back in the world – and is now at another London club that regularly beats Arsenal and wins trophies.

Although he won the league with Arsenal twice, Ashley has yet to do that with Chelsea – but I think he could be celebrating the championship at Stamford Bridge in May.

Arsenal do frustrate me and a lot of their fans sometimes as they can play some really brilliant football. They have qualified from their Champions League group extremely easily and I think they have a good chance of beating Manchester City in the Carling Cup tomorrow.

Yet a team is judged on their defining games and, this season, they have not delivered when they have really needed to.

Fuck Song, the horse he rode into town on, any other of those highly paid under fucking achievers if they don’t give it 110% against those fucking dog shits on Sunday….. Seriously NOW is the time to stand up and be counted, not next season, fucking NOW!

I draw my learned colleagues and fellow Grovers to my 12:34 post above.

Well they’ve fucking blown it……….again! I don’t know what was more embarrasing, watching that lot ponce around impersonating an Arsenal football team or listening to Arsene Wenger’s post match waffle……

If AW believes his own verbal tripe then we are in for a long long painful journey Grovers. Because he will play and play and play the same failures until they play one good game, probably against a team like Burnley, so that he can tell all those who are bothered to listen that he has a great team!

No one in power at AFC will change what’s happening because he makes them money, noting will change with new ownership because they will relish earning shed loads of money off of the back of the cash cow that is Arsenal Football Club supporters……..

I spent all last night and all today taking flack from Millwall and Charlton supports ffs, not for out abject surrender at home, but for Arsene Wenger’s quite laughable comments in his post match interview.

I truly truly wanted us to bash those cunts up, and ALL the players let me down. But Arsene has gone beyond the pale for me now. I no longer have any interest in his plans fo AFC and will bide my time until he finally moves on and we can get back to being a proper football club, not a place for self serving idealists.

If another club had performed so ineptly at home a lot of Gooners would be looking at that club and wondering whether that manager had “lost” the dressing room, think on that….

  121. insidealbania says:

Also, I know we have a game in hand, but how bad is are we now that the scum are a place ahead of us in the league in December, this shit was unheard of a few seasons ago.

there is a bit of a difference between losing to some teams and getting spanked even when they play shit…

Sunday was all too predictable – you just knew this was going to happen, looking at the team sheets: any slightest glimmer of hope for no crab football approach disappeared in a puff of smoke…

  124. Suga3,

u have yet answered my question mate,

if we are not beating chelshit, manures, but beating other teams…will u be happy with tha ???

becos this would mean we are still fighting for title…

  125. insidealbania says:

Sabeel you cannot win the title if you dont beat the top guns at least once, or get a draw against them. PLUS, do you think we will win against all the other shit teams?? what happened at west ham and sunderland can happen again.

  126. Duke says:

Sabeel, if only that was true, out of the top 10 we have lost 4 and won 1 (Spurs). All teams we beat are bottom half of the table, and even there we had a draw with 17th placed West Ham. We have to beat all teams outside the top 3…

  127. gnarleygeorge9 says:

  128. ArsenalKenya says:

Arsenal have bid €30million for Inter striker Mario Balotelli, but Jose Mourinho wants Cesc Fabregas as part of the deal, according to a report.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport states that the young Italian is ready for an exit despite his current deal expiring in 2013. The report claims Balotelli’s relationship with Jose Mourinho has become strained, and a January exit is on the cards.

However, clear-the-air talks are expected between Mourinho and the Palermo-born striker ahead of the transfer window.

Voices suggest that Inter would be willing to offload Balotelli, but only if the Gunners insert captain Fabregas as part of the deal.

Neither club has added any substance to the report, but Fabregas recently hinted he wanted to finish his career at the club.

“I am at a great club, with a great team and am happy,” the Spaniard told PA Sport last week.

i feel sunderland was the most disastrous game for us,not so much as westham, that after westham we were awake to not concede leads till internationals came along

so for me..in the argument of trying to beating all other teams other than chelshit, manures…sunderland has been the most disastrous…

if we had won at sunderland, this chelshit blow would not be as major…as we would affectively be 5 points behind, same as manure

I think it’s high time we start asking for our Ferraris that we are paying for…!!!

  144. The Premier League’s big guns have all been reportedly monitoring the form of one of Europe’s brightest young starlets Romelu Lukaku. The 16-year-old striker has broken into Belgian giants Anderlecht’s first team despite his tender years. His form and goal scoring record have made him one of the most sought after youngsters in world football with Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Man City, AC Milan and Real Madrid all having been linked to the Belgian. However, it’s the Gunners who are stepping up their interest for a January move following Robin Van Persie’s long-term injury.

Lukaku made his senior debut in Anderlecht’s championship play-off with Standard Liege back in May. He came on as a substitute just 11 days after signing his first professional contract. The fact that the youngster was thrown into a title-deciding match perfectly illustrates how highly regarded he is as a player at his club. However, it is this season that the teenager has really come of age with 8 goals in just thirteen league appearances (7 starts).

The impact the youngster has had in his homeland is similar to that of Wayne Rooney’s impact as a 16-year-old at Everton. Like Rooney, Lukaku is physically strong for his age but is also far taller than the England striker. At 6 ft 3 and a half, the Anderlecht man has shown both the power and athleticism to make a major impact for his club despite his relative inexperience.

The Anderlecht striker has been labelled the ‘new Didier Drogba’ by the Belgian press and is not only extremely quick but also very strong in the air. It’s hardly surprising that Lukaku has made such an excellent transition into senior football as his record at youth level is simply exceptional. Prior to joining Anderlecht, Lukaku played for both Lierse and FC Brussels youth teams. He scored an incredible 130 goals in just 68 youth games for Lierse and 121 in 88 youth matches for Anderlecht.

The first guy stands there and takes it for a few seconds then just gobs into the second guys open mouth, the second guy shuts up and holds his mouth in shock.

I shouldn’t laugh but it was funny, and it made me wish we had tough bastard cunts like that playing for us.

Arsenal Are Not Gunning For The League Cup – Arsene Wenger

    Brilliant!

  160. zee says:

morning fellas. i hope the kids have the confidence to have a fucking shot tomorrow. pissed down all day on sunday and still no fucker had a shot at cech. it was like watching an u12 side against an u19 side – i don’t think rosicky starting would have made a lot of difference against chelsea. They’re too big, too strong and too experienced for us – wrighty’s right in the sun today, the truth hurts. It does fuckin hurt. Especially when you KNOW the chavs will spend big next month cos they know they wont be able to in the summer. We’ll buy some fucking unknown like matuidi. Wenger – time to buy an ESTABLISHED FINISHED FUCKING ARTICLE.

  161. wardo says:

all – still too gutted bout Sunday !!!

Although this was a match that could go either way and we had most the play in the first half, we did not have a top top top finisher in the team !

I honestly think Edu’s lost a tiny biit of confidence since he has been laid off quite a bit in recent weeks…..

I did expect more in the second half tho …..

I spent £120 on sunday……..did not get value for money.

  162. MARK GOONER says:

    wardo tiny bit of confidence

    understatment
he looks shit and someone that shouldnt be no where near our team, hes goal return is bollocks and is fragile and far too lightweight

  163. Jimmythegun says:

I hear what you are saying Zee, but buying established players is not enough.

Wenger need to change his mind set or there will be no progression. We bought the established player/superstar in Arshavin, and even before he joined, Wenger was telling anyone that would listen that he would take 6 months to adapt. Nothing much unusual about that except the frequency with which he kept saying it. Luckily for Arsene, the pressure was off by March/April and AA had a big impact.

Fast forward a few months and AA is blowing hot and cold now that he is expected to deliver in every game. Instead of telling him to pull his socks up, Wenger runs to the media telling them that he is depressed!! AA now has an excuse for his inconsistent performances and no motivation to improve.

He constantly made excuses for other ‘stars’ including Campbell, Henry and Gilberto – he creates an atmosphere where no one takes responsibility for poor performances/attitude, and it is simply something that no other manager would even contemplate.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the upside of having Wenger as manager, but this is definitely the downside. Everything is far too relaxed and the whole set-up is centred around the players happiness rather than the clubs success.

  164. zee says:

jim – i take your point. Arshavin’s had a pretty forgettable season so far. I think we need more height (not diaby) and physicality to properly compete in the premier league. The tactics against Chelsea were all wrong, we had zero presence in their penalty area and kept swinging it in there, hoping for a lucky break. I honestly don’t think we’re that far short. We haven’t adequately replaced Vieira. He may have been in decline when we sold him but he was a genuine leader and a massive presence for us.

  165. tonyadamsisgod says:

Zee – Not only was it Vieira but also only offering Gilberto one year and losing Flamini that fucked us!! And lets not forget dolphin head too!!

  166. SP says:

IMO Arsenal will not win another trophy while Arsne is in charge unless he changes his crazy way of thinking that kids can win trophies. Why he thinks that this current team is capable of winning anything is beyond me. It is so bloody obvious that to win things you need a team of men and not boys. Some of the current crop is technically good, but lack strength and height which is needed in today’s game, you only have to look at the chavski team to see that we are a million miles away. I don’t see Arsne changes his ways because he is such a stubborn man who appears to have a belief that is not shared by the majority of fans?. What I find incredible is that the best team that he built was full of leaders and real men, but he seems to believe that is no longer required to deliver silverware.

  167. ArsenalKenya says:

    @Jimmythegun – well said. I fully agree with u.

  168. zee says:

TAIG – agreed. one of the earlier posts said it was a reality check on sunday, that’s exactly what it was. Does Wenger think we really can get back in the title race? I’d love to think we can, but deep down I think we know we’re still too inconsistent. It’s not acceptable for Arsenal fans to be thinking of top four as a target, especially on Dec 1. The whole idea of top four is not ambitious enough for our club. Our expectations are higher, we want to win, not just take part.

  169. Geoff says:

Afternoon all, zee, when will you not twig that Wenger has no ambition, if he did, he would buy some talent.

All he cares about is his pay packet and his power, why else would he sell more players than he buys, why did he not buy a Vermaelen years ago, we could see 3 years ago Senderos wasn’t good enough, why couldn’t he.

Anyone who lets £40 milllion of talent leave without replacing them has an ulterior motive, in his case, it’s lining his own pocket at the expense of ours.

  170. SharkeySure says:

    Afternoon All.

    Good shout Jimmy.

I’m a massive AKB, and I’ve said many a time that Arsene is too soft on players. He’s too fatherly and needs to tear astrip of of some people who aren’t performing.

Lets get some more half time changes, but hopefully not at 2-0 down. Getting hooked at half time really sends a message.

If he comes out after and says ‘Xyz had a slight problem with his abc’, then fine cos I don’t want our dirty linen washed in public.

Arsene really needs to toughen up on his young proteges.

  171. Geoff says:

SP welcome aboard, you are now free to blog.

  172. SharkeySure says:

    Hey Wardo….

I hear ya about still being gutted !!

Anyone (exluding Geoff !!) know why Song was subbed on Sunday. It seemed a strange one…

I had people mailing me from the ground asking if he was injured.

We’re playing a big strong team, and we sub off our biggest strongest player…

Watching Denilson 2nd half was not good. He’s a decent player some days…but he’s just too small.

  173. SharkeySure says:

*I had people mailing me from the ground asking if he was injured.*

  174. Geoff says:

I know you said not me Sharkey but I hear it on good authority that even Wenger now thinks he is shit.

  175. zee says:

geoff – he’s improved us with vermaelen for toure but not getting anyone in for ade was unacceptable. I’d agree his transfer dealings are not ambitious but, without wanting to blow hot air up his arse, with the the ground, the teams he’s put together, invincible season etc – that doesnt happen if you’ve got a manager with no ambition does it?

  176. Geoff says:

Denilson, he was shit too, but then he always is, for Wenger to have both his favourites playing at the same time tells me he is losing it.

  177. Geoff says:

That was 5 years ago zee, 5 years before Hitler topped himself he was master of Europe, then look what happened.

  178. Geoff says:

And when he was successful, he was successful because he bought lots of good players in, now he doesn’t and we aren’t, two and two?

  179. Geoff says:

    Back in 15 minutes.

  180. Duke says:

Geoff, as much as I would love it to be true, but I doubt it, after he just gave him a contract extension and said that is what we do with out best players, give them extensions.

  181. SharkeySure says:

Geoff – Well I know Pedro thought he was poor..I don’t.

Pedro seems to be ‘reacting’ to all the praise that Songs been getting, and trying to balance it all out.

Song did Ok for me, and I really don’t think we lost it in midfield on Sun.

Up front we had nothing from either of Eddy, Arsh or Nas.

And at the back both Tommy and Willie were poor for both goals.

Worst of all ….its that fucking dope Almunia. I played CB and FB for many years and I know there’s nothing worse than playing in front of a quiet keeper.

Its even worse if he’s shit as well.

And it spreads forwards from there. For GK’s in top teams, a massive part of the job is concentration and communication. Almunia is good at neither.

He stands on his line seeing Denilson marking John Terry….and seems happy enough. Shocking

  182. Jimmythegun says:

You’re on top form today Geoff! ;-)

Obviously your not shy in your criticism of Song and Denny, but what do you think about Walcott the imposter?

It has been said before but the boy just isn’t a footballer. He has been here nearly 4 years (I know, i know, the injuries…)but we paid £12 million quid for him and he seems to be getting worse. His decision making is excrutiatingly bad and his legs seem to work at ten times the speed of his brain.

    Will he ever come good?

  183. goonermichael says:

Brian clough got forest relegated and he’d won back to back European cups.

  184. zee says:

yeah, I was just saying we havent replaced vieira – won nothing since. and it’ll be depressing seeing the fuckin chavs get even stronger next month while we matuidi or a chamakh. wd love us to get Dzeko but he seems to be in love with ac milan. I’d be interested to know your opinion geoff on this – what wd be your reaction if we sign vieira next month?

  185. Duke says:

Sharkey, you know I think we should have someone better than Song, and that I rate him as good cover for a DM, like Flamini used to be for Gilberto. And maybe when he is older he would come good.
But even I was shocked that he was taken off and not Denilson…

  186. Duke says:

Jimmy, I think we paid 8 mil for Theo, as Southampton were in trouble and gave us a cut down price if we paid it all at once about 2 years after we bought him. But I get your point, next Henry? He is shocking, does nothing for us.
With all the kids we buy, very very very few reach the full potential we expect when we sign them. Only Cesc. Diaby, Denilson, Vela, Bendy, etc. etc. etc. should be much better by now. And don’t give me shit that they are only 21-23.
Cesc is 22 and Messi is 21 and just won the Golden Ball. That is what we expect from those kids when we sign them, but shockingly their progress is sooooo slow.

  187. zee says:

anyone want van nistelrooy as a signing?

  188. goonermichael says:

Walcott is shocking. He has about as many (if not fewer) good moments as song. He’s English and he’s won formula 1 so that’s ok. I’d sell him back to southampton.

  189. goonermichael says:

I’d fucking hate that cunt in an Arsenal shirt.

  190. Duke says:

Anyone see Top Gear make a car for Geoff? It also goes well with the Copenhagen 2009 GO GREEN thing LG has going…

  191. SharkeySure says:

Well said Duke, even Song’s worst detractors were shocked he was taken off.

    I guess even Geoff was surprised…even annoyed…??

Song off – Denilson stays on !!!

Thats up there with having Arshavin as sub in the FAC semi as one of Arsene’s worst ever decisions

Arsenal Are Not Gunning For The League Cup – Arsene Wenger

    Brilliant!

No so brilliant if you’re a gooner travelling up there tomorrow, taking time off work, paying thruogh the nose for tickets that City fans are buying for a fiver, for what. To know that your manager isn’t even committed to the trophy.

Why fucking enter? More importantly, does he have any fucking respect for the fans?

Still pissed off and losing the faith. Someone said this is going to be a long journey if Wenger believes his own tripe. Well, the last few years have already been a long journey already. How far is he going to fucking push us?

  194. SharkeySure says:

Theo didn’t really start playing football til he was about 10 or 11.

On his bad days it really seems to show.

My son plays at U9 level, and you see how much he and other kids have developed and learned since they started out as an U7.

Watching Theo leave the ball behind is getting as boring as AdeNuffs offsides.

  195. tonyadamsisgod says:

Jimmythegun – Can I chip in on Walcott??

I think Wenger is fast ruining a guy that could be phenomenal if given the proper chances. You say his decision making is bad. I say that because Wenger is trying to turn him into a Winger. Why didn’t he pull the trigger when he got into the Chelsea area? because 4 years of Wenger playing him as a wide right has forced him to look for another pass. He has spent 99% of his game time bombing down the flank and then stopping to look for a pass, usually to a forward.

Theo should be played on the heels of the last defender! Can you imagine terry trying to play a high line and leaving that much room in behind if he knew he could get dragged into a sprint with him? The kid has shown some moments of magnificence too. His 2 goals against Germany for the U21′s, his run against Liverpool, his goal against Villarreal and even sme of his play at Southampton.

He needs to be allowed to get back to trying to become a striker. Over 4 years how many games has he played up front? 5 maybe? And all of this for a guy that Wenger says he sees as a striker!

I’ll tell you what Wenger really sees…….a reason not spend £15m on right winger!!

  196. wardo says:

Magit….what pub did you go in on Sunday ??

I went in the aud triangle, then to the metro, then tollington, and then finally drank 3 fosters exports under the railway bridge.

Well fired up (p155ed) and off I went.

Was so disapointed but, i cant remember much of the game anyway……

Cant really see why Arsene says that people in England think that when things go wrong you have to buy. The whole of Europe think that plus, the only time we have won anythign under AW is when he bought good players.

  197. zee says:

yep spot on taig – wenger says he sees him as a central striker long term but just keeps sticking him out there. again v frustrating…

  198. SharkeySure says:

I don’t think all youngsters are signed as Messi or Fabregas type..

I think a lot of it is just making sure you don’t miss out on a Messi or Fab. You get hope to churn out afew Sidwells and Bentley’s along the way who generate enough cash for you to restart the whole process again.

When siging a 10 yr old Messi, you need another 10 players to make up the team. They won’t be as good as Messi, but should be decent enough to play with him without dragging him down to a lower level.

For Fab it was the likes of Antony Stokes, and Aliadiere that were the supporting cast. Both (like so many others!!) were sold for a decent fee.

  199. Duke says:

taig, mate, as always nothing to add. Perfect. It’s not Theo’s fault, it’s Wenger’s.
Also same could be said for Vela. Why is the boy the main striker for a country going to the World Cup, but has to play a totally different role for Arsenal. Round holes, square pegs. That is Arsenal’s main problem. We don’t have a winger, we have Central Midfielder and Strikers playing there. We have Central Midfielders playing as striker in a 4-3-3. We have a Centre Half playing as a Holding Midfielder.
This all because once in his life time he converted a winger and made him the best striker…now we are suffering for this.
He only buys players who can play all over the pitch anywhere, but they are not 100% efficient when they are not playing the best position. Only the back 5 and Cesc play their real positions, everyone else has been made to adapt to a new one.

  200. tonyadamsisgod says:

This is the sort of thing that makes me think Arsene is actually losing the plot for real!!

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has declared that Theo Walcott has all the traits necessary to become a prolific striker for the Gunners.

The Frenchman believes that the youngster can turn into something special, but maintained that the former Southampton star still needs to improve his game in order to shine in a central role.

Wenger told the club’s official website: “There is a chance [for Walcott to become a great striker]. I believe he has all the assets to be a fantastic central player.

“I’m very conscious of that because of the quality and the timing of his runs.

“The only thing I would say with Theo is that every time I have rushed him back he has got injured again.

“This time I have decided to take the time to get him completely 100 per cent fit to come back.”

The former Monaco boss suggested a few areas that the 20-year-old – who has featured most often on the wing for both club and country – would need to concentrate on to up his game.

“What he needs to work on to play in this kind of position is [having his] back to goal,” Wenger added.

“At the moment, his strengths are more central to the counterattacking role than the distribution role. That’s what he has to add to his game.”

Here’s a fucking idea Arsene!! Play him up front you fucking idiot!! How can he learn to play with his back to goal if you keep on putting him out on the wing!!??

  201. Duke says:

Sorry about the shitty grammar, a bit hard to read that, the boss was making me do stuff. But I hope you all get the point.

  202. tonyadamsisgod says:

Duke – Its all about saving money mate!! Why spend a few million on some real talent when you can put your 6ft 4″ striker out wide, hey!!

  203. I AM GOONER (maqitlarge) says:

    Hey Wardo,

No pre game pub action. Was driving back from Oxford and was still on M25 at 3pm. Baby related lateness, you just can plan anything. Got off at J26 at 3:25 only to find the road up to Old Orleans closed. Everything was againt me but had to be calm with baby in the back. Somehow got back home and left at 3:35. Got to Blackhorse raod at 4:15. Out the other end and relived my midle distance running days and only missed 5 minutes in the end. Mental effort!

    And then….

    Well fucked off.

Sunk one in The George, round the corner from Holloway Rd tube, then went home. At the time I was still venting at the ref but now I’m angry with players, team, Wenger and club as a whole.

How many times do we need to be taught this lesson by Chelsea and other big teams in big games.

Definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over again and expecting a different result. Point that anywhere you want and you’ll find something to do with Arsenal.

  204. zee says:

duke also think almunia may be adapting to a new position☺☺☺

  205. SharkeySure says:

    Bosses and work ‘eh Duke…nightmare !!! ;-)

I’m in a different office as of yesterday, and now sat with my Boss for the foreseeable. Grrrrrr

  206. I AM GOONER (maqitlarge) says:

    *can’t plan anything

  207. Geoff says:

I agree Almunia is useless but Song had the chance to outshine Essien and he blew it, It makes me sick that we just gave him a six year contract as I think Denilson is better, and I don’t rate him either.

Theo is played out of position, another strange decision, like playing Song in goal.

Hmmmm maybe that’s why he got such a long contract.

Theo will come good, trust me.

  208. I AM GOONER (maqitlarge) says:

sorry, got to BH Road at 3:45, not 4:15

  209. Duke says:

    taig, I know mate, that’s the problem…

Sharkey, yeah mate, I sit about 10 meters away from the boss, and there is a lot of typing, but not so many emails going out, I always come up with some shit like I am updating the files :D

  210. SharkeySure says:

Not many (if any?!) players will outshine Essien, but I think Song did Ok in there.

Seriously Geoff if think Denilsono is better than Song then there realy is no point talking to me !!

I’m trying to say that respectfully, but its difficult.

To say that you rate Denilson who’s playd no more than 500min this season, as better than someone who has played nearly every game, and drawn plaudits and praise from all and sundry (incl some well respected ex-Arsenal pros’s such as McLintock) is really taking the piss.

So if thats really your view, then its a swift ‘goodnight’ from me on that topic. ;-)

  211. Mimi says:

Sharkey I also don’t have any faith left in that keeper. These past few weeks i have come to expect the very worst from him and i can tell you i haven’t been disappointed.

  212. Geoff says:

Sharkey as usual you didn’t read my comment.

I said I think Denilson is better than Song and I don’t rate him.

Denilson that is, so that shows how much I rate Song.

If Wenger thought he was having a good game he wouldn’t have taken him off.

  213. SharkeySure says:

Geoff – Theo has some magic moments. But they’re deffo too few and far between to convince me…so far.

Asd with all Arse players that I have ‘concerns’ about I hope he serves me my doubts as a main course, with a big slice of humble for dessert.

  214. I AM GOONER (maqitlarge) says:

    Wardo, re: you’re last comment.

I think the project is a nice idea but its never going to work. Moreover, I resent it taking place at my expense.
I’d be far happier if he acknowledged that we need signings and do something about it.
We’re getting used to average, getting beat by the big teams in a big way and hoping for the future.
We’re losing the next generation of fans.

  215. Pedro says:

Sharkey, this time last year, people had the same views about Denilson as you have about Song.

Did you not see his stats?

I think Wenger rates Denilson ahead of Song in that role… Song will end up as a centre back I reckon.

  216. wardo says:

hey magit…..that’s prob quickest way to the gooners. Drive to blackhorse then tube it from there.

You did well to miss only 5 mins.

Shame it was a shit game…..I am pro wnger but, we need to spend some cash. Or just come out and say it !! we are just trying to stay in the top 4.

What is their (the board) actual goal i wonder ????????

I am sick of hearing wenger say we can win the EPL. Yes it is mathmatically possible. But, we as Arsenal fans do not want to wait for a miracle to happen. We want to mix youth with experience and challange for real.

  217. SharkeySure says:

It was clear as day Geoff….you don’t rate either of them, but somehow you rate Song as the weakest of the two.

    I find that incredible.

    Night Geoff ;-)

  218. Geoff says:

He’d be shit at that too he can’t jump.

As for Theo, he scored a fucking hatrick for England away in Croatia, not many can do that.

  219. Geoff says:

That’s the second time you’ve said goodnight but you’re still here, I find that incredible.

  220. SP says:

I’d rather have Alex manninger back in goal then have that plank Almunia!

  221. Pedro says:

We’ll find out one day that Sharkey is working PR for Song.

  222. Geoff says:

Liam Brady just said that Blatter was disrespectful and embarrassing to laugh at the Irish request.

    How embarrassing was Irelands request?

  223. Pedro says:

Very Geoff… they want a pass into the finals.

  224. Geoff says:

    Or worse!

  225. SharkeySure says:

Pedro – If the stats weren’t on here then I didn;t see them. I don’t go looking for stuff like that.

Song sennt a pass to Nasri..perfectly controllable. Nasri misjudged his control and turn and it went out for a throw.

I watched that and thought I heard people screaming ‘another pass to imaginary friend’, another mark on the incomplete passes count.

I think thats the only way some people can be downgrading Song lately…simply by being so blinkered and then looking so hard.

Were you hoping he Song would be subbed at half time…?? Were you surprised he was…?? Do you think that was the right move..??

Make it quick though Ped. My new desk is in a shit location for blogging !!!

  226. Geoff says:

I wonder how that team feels when Ireland got through off their back with the penalty decision?

  227. wardo says:

haha – as much as i hate blatter. I find it funny that he has laughed at ROI’s pass request.

  228. SharkeySure says:

Geoff.. Metaphorical night to you re that topic !!

Who’s not reading posts properly now ??

  229. tonyadamsisgod says:

Geoff – I Preferred his 2 against Germany for the U21′s:

  230. zee says:

anyone remember quinny punch one in v liverpool at the clock end? dont think he stopped the ref after

  231. Geoff says:

I think the person who said that was bang on!

  232. tonyadamsisgod says:

Ireland’s request wasn’t done just because they want into the WC but because Blatter was a cunt to them and they want a professional explanation/apology for what happened to them. One of the first thin Brady said was that they don’t expect FIFA to allow them in.

  233. Geoff says:

Tony Song couldn’t do that if there was only him on the pitch!

  234. Pedro says:

Sharkey, that wasn’t a perfectly weighted pass!

You’ve also got to get over the fact you’re not in the minority any more…

Most people think he is amazing, the best thing to happen to Arsenal since it’s inception…

The same thing happened with Eboue last year, how many times have you personally told me that he doesn’t tend to cheat anymore? Loads… is it true? No…

His passing was poor the other night and his overall play was sloppy.

With him on the pitch, combined with Denilson, it didn’t work.

I was fine with him going off, I think Denilson has a much better range of passing and is more dynamic than Song. If Denilson had pace and power, he’d be a great player.

  235. Geoff says:

Should fucking ask then. It’s like they think they’re special.

  236. tonyadamsisgod says:

Geoff – I think Song would lose 1-0 if it were only him on the pitch!!

  237. Pedro says:

Sharkey, the stats were so good, I wrote a post about them.

At one point, some posters were saying he was the most accomplished holding player in the Premiership… hyperbole of course… but your crusade to win the PR battle with Song is the following a similar line…

  238. Geoff says:

If your sister had bollocks Pedro, she’d be your brother, she hasn’t and Denilson is crap.

  239. Mimi says:

Walcott is shit!!Atleast has been this season. It’s bye bye world cup. Lennon is taking his place.

  240. tonyadamsisgod says:

Geoff – The problem the FAI have is that Blatter told them it would be discussed in a private meeting. He’s then gone out and announced the request to a press conference in South Africa. We all know Blatter is a cunt.

Who just heard that fella Khan is fighting get told off for swearing on live TV? He looked well embarrassed……didn’t know that bollocks was a swear word!! Brilliant!!

  241. Pedro says:

Geoff, I could say that about your Walcott statement.

The best you can do to defend him is talk about a hatrick he bagged an age ago.

He has under performed to such an extent that he’s lost his place to Lennon… and he’s been rewarded with a £60k a week contract.

  242. Geoff says:

Tony asking if they can sneak in is toady and so unfair on the other hopefuls, Blatter is a cunt though, I agree. I just wish Brady would shut his gob though, Henry would never come back if he keeps on.

  243. Mimi says:

So walcott is expected to come good and Song isnt!!such double standards!!!

  244. tonyadamsisgod says:

Pedro – He lost his place coz he’s been a crock, not because he’s under performed!!

  245. tonyadamsisgod says:

Fuck – Only just remembered that the WC draw is on Friday!! Looking forward to seeing what games are gonna be on while I’m in Vegas!! :D

  246. Pedro says:

Taig, he under performed all last year… and he looks in equally effective form so far this term.

Plus, he’s been crocked, yet we still give him a £60k a week deal.

What did he do to deserve that?

  247. Geoff says:

Pedro, Denilson, Song in the same sentence as Theo, please, look at the clip Tony put on, those two could only dream, Theo will be England and Arsenal’s saviour.

  248. Pedro says:

    Right, I’m off out!

    Have fun…!

  249. I AM GOONER (maqitlarge) says:

at least Afobe has committed to Arsenal over Barca. Roll on 2015!!!

  250. SP says:

Song and denilson are both crap and they play with others in the team who are not much better.

  251. tonyadamsisgod says:

Mimi – Walcott has shown flashes of brilliance. Song has shown that he can just about contain a Wolves midfield.

  252. Pedro says:

Geoff, he bombed for the under 21′s as well!

    Francis Jeffer’s Under 21 career puts Theo’s to shame…

  253. Pedro says:

    Really off now…

  254. tonyadamsisgod says:

Pedro – One conversation at a time. “he looks in equally effective form so far this term.” So would you after a total playing time of about 120 minutes or something stupid.

  255. insidealbania says:

Anyone here think we will make any notable signing (I’m not talking about kids) in Jan, especially now that RVP is out for the season??

  256. Geoff says:

Mimi, Walcott is already good and has amazing talent, Song has neither, that’s not double standards, it’s fact!

  257. tonyadamsisgod says:

    Inside – No.

  258. SP says:

there is so much expectation from walcott and if only he could stay fit!

  259. SharkeySure says:

Pedro – “Eboue last year, how many times have you personally told me that he doesn’t tend to cheat anymore? Loads… is it true? No…”

    You been drinking Pedro??

You ain’t heard that from me..unless its a post you’ve kindly edited on my behalf ;-)

Its not a PR crusade re Song, but should I really jus siot here and not bother to disagree with stuf I don’t like.

He’s a regular topic, and I’m his biggest fan.

Were ou referring to Den’s stats..?/ I thought you were talking about Songs from Sun. No worries I’ve just kicked myself for my stupidity.

Ps re me being ‘in the majority’..I know thats true, cos you’ve now adopted the opposite position, and started to downgrade him !!

  260. tonyadamsisgod says:

SP – Seems to be a re-occurring theme at Arsenal doesn’t it……Walcott, RvP, Rosicky, Eduardo…….

  261. Mimi says:

Flashes of brilliance. so has song albeit to poor opposition. Atleast Song didnt go against his coach and played in two compettions during the summer!

  262. Mimi says:

Which i think is a good thing for Walcott. He can blame his injuries if he doesnt come good.

  263. Mimi says:

Geoff fact according to yours truly!!!You only spew FACTS. the rest of us no nothing about facts.

  264. SP says:

tonyadamsisgod – yep sure is, but even if everyone stayed fit for the majority of the season; do you honestly believe the current squad would be good enough to win the epl? I really don’t think so, because they demonstrate so often how weak they are when they come up against teams who like to ruff it up

  265. Geoff says:

Alex Song wouldn’t go against his coach because he’s a suck up, that’s why he just got a 6 year contract.

6 years for a shit player, good going that.

  266. Mimi says:

Sharkey thats something Ped picked after the AZ game.He wasnt so anti-song before.

  267. tonyadamsisgod says:

Mimi – Go against his coach? If Wenger really didn’t want him to go I’m sure he would have stopped him. I agree its a joke that he played for the U21′s but thats down to Capello and Pearce.

  268. Mimi says:

Wenger said he had a problem with it. Walcott should have known better, him being intelligent and all.

  269. tonyadamsisgod says:

SP – No way mate, no way. We just haven’t got enough muscle in the team. I don’t care what anyone says, you cant win on skill alone.

  270. tonyadamsisgod says:

Mimi – If Wenger cant command the respect of his players then thats his fault. But I would bet any money that if Arsene sat Theo down and firmly said “Theo, I will be really unimpressed if you play for both England sides” there is no way that he would have done so. I couldn’t see any of Fergie’s kids doing it.

  271. choy says:

Why will Wenger not put out a stronger side tomorrow, why is he being so arrogant?!

  272. wardo says:

Pedro…..i have heard people say that song has had a good game but have never heard anyone say he is amazing and the best thing to happen to Arsenal since its inception….

Song is ok / good. Not amazing. I’m not sure why he was taken off in place of denilson tho.

  273. insidealbania says:

fuck me these are bad times for us fans. The club is not in crisis even if we loose to shitty tomorrow coz we will end up in the top 4, but for us fans these are just miserable times knowing we will get nothing out of this season. And if AW doesnt change his stance, then expect the same next season.

  274. SP says:

AW is a great manger, we all know that and I don’t expect arsenal to win the league every season, but i do expect the manager to provide a team for all the fans to get excited about and have a belief that we could win the title instead of this crap team he serves up to us week in week out. OK, they are good to watch when they are in form, but does anyone have any confidence that they will keep a clean sheet! I don’t and it never used to be like that.

  275. WB says:

guys i wish balotelli rumors are true, bcz i think he can save our season.he is good at set pieces, good long shot, great dribbling skills,i really think he has the potential to be our next henry.

  276. Jimmythegun says:

Song may not be everyones dream DM, but he is ten time more deserving of wearing the shirt than Walcott.

Whatever you think of him, Song contributes. Too often we are forced to play with 8/9 men due to a complete lack of contribution from certain players.

No wonder Cesc is too knackered to rally the troops! ;-)

  277. choy says:

I think Cesc is fed up!

  278. Man says:

Song’s been amazing on many occasions in the past 2 years! Song is amazing

  279. SP says:

Cesc is fed up with playing with all this tosh every week! and he won’t put up with it for to much longer me thinks

  280. insidealbania says:

SP – if he goes to Barca he will warm the bench me thinks. All these players should know that we are the club that gave them their chance to shine, if they dont want to stay and wholeheartedly play for the club then they can piss off. I’d rather have mediocre players with their heart than the current crop of batty boys who only care about tatoos and hair gel.
No one is bigger than the club and we must not let anyone hold us to ransom.

  281. SharkeySure says:

    Well said Inside !!

  282. Gunnersmith says:

    Sell Song
    Sell Nasri
    Sell Denilson
    Sell Walcott
    Sell Ramsey

    ………………..Bollocks

I’m taking a break from football for a while :-)

  283. insidealbania says:

Sharkey – its been 2 days since the HOME defeat to the chavs, and not a single player has come out to say ‘sorry we fucked up, it was embarrassing to get thrashed at home so convincingly’. Nothing mate.

    Headlines from arse.com :

Walcott – Europe can take a back seat for now

Arshavin – I was shocked by World Cup exit

    WTF??

  284. rayman says:

See AW has said that Eastmond and Wilshire will play tomorrow. Odd one I would have thought Coquelin would get a game. So whats the team going to be for what is now a huge game for City but maybe not so unimportant game for us either, we need to get back to winning ways asap.

    Team? maybe something like….
    Fab
    gilbert senderos silvestre eboue
    ramsey eastmond merida
    wilshire vela theo

Looks a bit lightweight, can’t see a team like that beating a probably full strength city at eastlands.

  285. gunnergetyou says:

rosicky says he wants to sign a new contract at Arsenal, where have i heard that one before?

  286. SharkeySure says:

    Thats another good point Inside.

But to be fair it wouldn’t matter to me what they said, cos when it comes to football talks cheap.

Gallas fuiucking hugginb DidHeDive at the final whistle…whilst FUCKING SMILING !!!

Honestly, whats to say after that.

For all the money those Blue Scum players get each week…they play like they’ve not eaten for fucking days, or that their kid has been kidnapped and they need the win bonus to pay the ransom.

I think it was Pedro who said they looked fitter….even though they were older and (mostly) heavier. That just ain’t right

  287. Gunnersmith says:

Ha ha ha inside its the fans that face the embarrassment the players just don’t give a fuck

  288. Duke says:

    Players mentality is this:
I will play good in Champions League, for my Country, a few big games, showcase my talent, do something amazing against a small club. So if we don’t win shit, a better club will come in for me.
How can you play with your heart, when you change club so easily now a days.
Funny thing is ManUre, Chelski and Liverpool all have players that are the backbone of their team and you know they won’t leave the club. I for one can’t think of a single player like that at Arsenal.
It’s all about the heart and love for the club. If you don’t give a shit about the club you put in performances like our whole team did vs Chelski bar Cesc. You could see his love, you could see he was trying his balls off, but as I play in his position, I know that if you have no cover, and the Strikers miss-control the ball the whole game, they will make you look shit…

  289. Arse&Nose says:

Eastmond and Le coq are quite similar from what I have seen, both are tenacious, mobile and full of energy.

Both have a real chance of stepping up to the first team because we have been missing this type of player since Flamini left.

  290. choy says:

    Duke,

Well the manager will ship you off when you’re 30 so the players think they should leave before that, I don’t blame them.

If the club does not take care of the players, why should they bother?

    Arsenal = Ballache Wardo! :)

  295. SharkeySure says:

Well I’ve moved desks Wardo and had to start working a bit for my money this week – so don’t blame me ;-)

  296. Gooby says:

A french football expert, among the best in the country said arsenal will we the CL, this guy is often right about football issues(daniel riolo)

  297. Pedro says:

Wardo… I think if you check around the sites, it’s the same everywhere…

  298. Harry says:

If Arsenal want to win again, they need to change the manager. If they had any sense the board should take the first flight to Milan and beg Mourinho to come promising him all the money Wenger wont spend.

  299. SharkeySure says:

    OPedro…why so defensive..??

Don’t shoot me …think about it first

  300. Jaguar says:

Under Mourinho,we would never have wankers like Diaby and Shitvestre. Not that I want Moanronho at Arsenal though.

  301. Chipo says:

Gooby – as long as we don’t meet Chelsea!

p.s. Hello Grovers. I’ve got 15mins to kill – entertain me!

  302. Jaguar says:

Chelsea line up looks terrifying. They had bollock on the bench last night.Talk about squad depth.

  303. Pedro says:

    Sorry Sharkey?

    Defensive about what? The site?

  304. Pedro says:

Chipo, what do Rolf Harris and Man City have in common?

    They both like drawing

  305. Jaguar says:

Pedro,Man City would be unlucky not to carry that tag beyond next week, when they face Chelsea.

  306. AA23 says:

Man city fans reckon they are going to give our away fans a “good old Manchester Hiding” for being racists about Adebayor.
Mind yourselves up there lads, if a manc gets cut your Armani suits could get covered in gravy.

  307. leon says:

i feel this team has combo of problems and the important one is that they tacticly inept what i mean by that is when they 2-0 up there first thought is go for 3rd not protect the lead and evon worse they dont realy botherd about clean sheets just as long as the score than there opisition that kind of mentality breat complainsonsy in defence lapse marking and all round bad defending as a team.another problem is edwardo is box to box finisher a preditor,it is clear the team needs a brentna type player who score though arial attacks.but in boat arsenal attack is turned crap the fact is players like aa risicky fab to step up and that includes defending as a team.another problem that has been there from the start is that we dont top class keeper this team is quite weak on corners mostly down to the our keeper is not top class just 2nd keeper.

  308. Maciek says:

Two weeks ago we were title contetnders and now we are so s**t? Come one guys, we do need 5 new players ( a WORLD CLASS GK, 2 quality, big strong cd’s, a world class cdm and a world class striker) but that just desn’t mean we do need to change our entire squad.

  309. choy says:

Maciek we are 11 points behind!

Which means chavs need to lose 3 games minimum, while we need to not lose at all and one we have to go to the bridge and win!

  310. Geoff says:

The woman who’s baby got eaten says she’ll miss her beautiful baby boy, what the fuck was she doing leaving in a house where they breed illegal fucking dogs?

  311. leon says:

maciek i dont think there is anything wroung with vern or gallas its an attitude thing if look at manu and chelsea its there first instict is to keep a clean sheet and defend as a team which it comes natural to them to mark well and all there midfielders track back this teams first instict is to go a goal i have said this several times this does care about cleen sheets as long they out score the opisition yes we need dm player but if looked chelsea it was just essian who protecting the defence is was lambard joe cole it was the midfielders it was not just one player protecting the defence and the rest just dont bother, you can the very best top top dm but if you dont defend as a team it counts for nothing both gallas and vern are very good but they need to change there attitude.

  312. Pat says:

choy, Chavs need to lose 2 and draw 1 whilst we win our game in hand and continue winning.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger plans to make a rare foray into the January transfer market to find cover for the injured Robin van Persie.
Van Persie was ruled out for as long as five months last week after injuring his ankle while playing for the Netherlands.
“I didn’t feel we were in the need to buy anybody but we will be out on the market, that is for sure,” Wenger said Tuesday. “But will only make a decision if it suits us.”

  313. WB says:

i m expecting atleast two signings or u may say two saviors to save our season.if wenger dont buy them he should leave at the end of season

  314. reggie57 says:

In other words im not buying anyone you bunch of mugs!!

  315. Samir says:

I’ll be expecting a CF,DM and a CB in January.

A GK and Big strong CM in the Summer.

But knowing Wenger we will get………..NO ONE!!!

Seriously though if he buys no one he seriously has to go, no messing now!

  316. choy says:

Pat, the odds are against us!

Bear in mind that we have to win absolutely all the games this month!

  317. choy says:

Aston Villa look to be fielding their First Team

  318. reggie57 says:

Never seen so many people pissed off about Wenger before, starting to think this could be the beginning of the end for him if no signings, trophys, etc,(which looks highly unlikely at this moment)i feel he should do the honorable thing and resign…………..

  319. Geoff says:

No way Reggie, the board have already said he has a job for life, they don’t give a monkeys about winning trophies, I expect they have to be reminded that we are the team in red and white.

  320. reggie57 says:

He keeps on saying he is a man of honour Geoff, what honour is it to be a manager of a team of under achievers!!

  321. leon says:

i dont think an indivual dm player is the problem song does a good job,its not they cant defend is the fact they dont thinks its as important as scoring ans as long as they have that mentality they will continue to have problems

  322. Stu says:

WTF i thought we were playing tonight. Le Groves sidebar has wronged me!

  323. choy says:

Spuds have their first team out as well

  324. choy says:

Pretty Strong team by Man U as well.

  325. choy says:

    haha at 75 mill?

  326. Samir says:

    Geoff;
If the fans want Wenger out I’m sure the board would cooperate….

  327. reggie57 says:

How would the fans convince the board Samir?

  328. Pat says:

there is no way in hell United are getting Villa. They have an age policy and will not pay over 30 mil for someone his age

  329. Pat says:

So Wenger has said he will look into buying a striker in January

  330. Dutchman says:

Wenger said today that he will buy a striker!!!!
    Didn’t you read it???

  331. luke says:

where did you hear that Pat?

  332. luke says:

    where dutchman?

  333. Pat says:

    Jenas is having a shocker

  334. David says:

    Cunt Untd have scored.

  335. Pat says:

    fuck Gibson

  336. Dutchman says:

Luke, every site!! Look on newsnow!

  337. Pat says:

United always score against the run of play. Fucking lucky cunts

  338. Samir says:

Not turn up to games, protests etc. But I’m sure it would never come to that.
Wenger would step down like a man before that began I believe!

  339. Dutchman says:

David, aren’t you happy??? Wenger is looking for new striker so no bendtner.

  340. choy says:

He just said we are in the market, he never said,” we are going to buy a striker.”

  341. Dutchman says:

Samir, he says that he is looking for striker for sure. And that he thought that he can do things with these strikers but he says that he was fault, and will buy a striker!

  342. luke says:

    Pazzini, Chamakh, Gignac, Balotelli.

Pazzini is short. Chamakh is african (did Morocco qualify?), Balotelli is 19, Gignac is not that good…

  343. Confidentgoner says:

We need to learn from Chelsea and Man U about defending. See how Manu have kept Tots out through good defending.

  344. Dutchman says:

Yeah choy, but when wenger says that he is looking for signings he always come with a signing.

  345. David says:

I’ll be happy When i see a conference called and that picture on the website with a Jersey and a new Arsenal Shirt number.

  346. choy says:

And we’re always in the market, we just don’t seem to find anybody!

  347. David says:

    Dutchman.

    Talk is cheap.

And its worth even less when it comes out of Wenger.

  348. Dutchman says:

Luke, I hope for chamakh incredible player. I’ve seen him a lot. And maroco didn’t qualify.

  349. Samir says:

    Morocco did not qualify :)

  350. choy says:

Mancs and Chavs all defend, the entire team, even 60 yr old giggs defends,

Our team just wants to attack!

  351. luke says:

lets hope chamakh is actually good and bordeaux will still be willing to even talk to us after last summer

  352. Samir says:

It’s not very clever the way Wenger has told the world we are looking for a striker.
Prices will surly double now……. :(

Chamakh is good but not ready for us atm.

    I want Dzeko.
    15M would do it……

  353. choy says:

chamakh, he won’t come in, they are in the CL.

  354. reggie57 says:

I go to wimbledon market every week still dont buy nothing though!!

  355. zeus says:

Darren bent is such a clueless cunt. hehe

  356. choy says:

I would rather we buy a GK

  357. Samir says:

    Buy Dzeko.
    Move Fabianski to number 1.
    Buy a hard man DM.

Problems solved until the summer where we buy another hard man CM and a Big CB!!

  358. Samir says:

La Gazzetta dello Sport understands Mario Balotelli is ready to leave Inter and join Arsenal after being left in the stands on Sunday.

The 19-year-old striker has been repeatedly criticised by Jose Mourinho and no longer appears to have a future under his management.

Inter President Massimo Moratti would like to see him stay, as Balotelli is one of the few players from the club’s academy to break into the first team.

Having lost Robin van Persie for five months, Arsenal are apparently prepared to launch a bid in January worth around £20m for the Italy Under-21 international who would also earn nearly £3m a year at the Emirates.

Balotelli still has four years to run on his current deal, but he is by now convinced that Arsene Wenger is the only man who can get the best out of him.

La Gazzetta believes that while Inter have grown fed up with his attitude, it’s Balotelli who is actively pursuing the move, trying to force the club into a sale.

It’s hard to blame Balotelli for wanting a move when he is routinely booed by opposing fans in most grounds across Italy.

La Gazzetta believes the situation has reached such an impasse that, while the transfer is reportedly scheduled for January, it’s either Mourinho or Balotelli who will leave Inter in the summer.

  359. David says:

I think if we buy a CF and a proper left Winger.

    We will win it all.

I’d play Arshavin behind the CF. And put Mozart/Theo on the right

  360. zeus says:

    @ Samir
I concur on Dzeko, he is very classy for a big 22 year old. 15m won’t do it though, they demanded 25m from Milan in the summer and Milan couldn’t make it and it broke down.

  361. choy says:

Dzeko will be cup tied and will cost upwards of 20 mill

  362. Samir says:

Have you heard what the Italian papers are saying????
Apparenlty we have bid €30million for Inter striker Mario Balotelli, but Jose Mourinho wants Cesc Fabregas as part of the deal.
This is obviously a load of crap :D

  363. zeus says:

    @ choy
Arshavin was cup tied and that didn’t stop us

  364. Pat says:

Who cares that CHamalh would be cup tied. We need a strong CF in the PL. We can manage in Europe

  365. Samir says:

    15M+Diaby?
    lol.
He may be cup tied but he is the best CF that we could buy with a little haggling IMO.
All the other not Champion’s league tied CF’s are either shit or too young!

  366. Pat says:

United totally fucking outplayed yet they’re up 2-0 wtf

  367. choy says:

That is what happens when you have a good defense.

  368. Pat says:

That Gibson is a great shooter. Everytime I see him his shots look dangerous

  369. Dutchman says:

Pat, i hate Man united, tottenham and chelsea and City. But it most united, they are always lucky!!

  370. Confidentgoner says:

    Pat,
that’s what massive defense and a guy who can find the net does for you. Problem with Tots is that they still defend like us.

  371. Pat says:

choy thats bullshit good defense. If it was good, SPurs wouldn’t open them up as many times as they have. Awful touchs/finishing from Defoe and Keane

  372. Dutchman says:

I can’t understand why wenger didn’t buy last summer. He had the money but he said that this was the year and that this was the year where we were all waiting for. But he fucked us. Why wenger, he must buy now in january.

  373. reggie57 says:

Get used to it dutchman every year Wenger is there be prepared to be fucked!

  374. Samir says:

    This is what Wenger said before the summer transfer period;

“There is money available to buy,” he said. “We spoke about that today.

“Where do I buy or who, that is difficult to speak about because if you come out with that you pay double price. We are rich, but we are not rich enough to do that. However, we will buy.”

  375. Dutchman says:

exactley samir, and now every man in arsenal has said that there is money, and much money. But wenger won’t spend it!!

  376. Samir says:

    Wenger said this today;

‘I didn’t feel we were in the need to buy anybody but we will be out on the market, that is for sure,’ Wenger said.

  377. WB says:

wenger said he will be in market, and any deal suits him he will buy only then,so expect a bid of 10m for Villa and another 5m for Lloris.

  378. choy says:

    Talking generally pat.

  379. zeus says:

I have never called for Wenger’s head, but if we win nothing this year then we certainly have to ask him to go. 6 years is a hell of a long time to go w/out winning a trophy. Over the last 5 years we haven’t even maintained a title challenge in the league.

We need to spend some dough and if 40m or so is gonna break the Arsenal bank then the emirates can fuck right off.

  380. Samir says:

    Papers say we are after on of;

    1) Balotelli
    2) Pazzini
    3) Chamakh
    4) Luca Toni
    5) Van Nistelrooy

    Dzeko recently said however;
Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko insists he will not leave the Bundesliga outfit before the end of the season.

    Release clause

Dzeko’s contract reportedly includes a €20million (£18m) release clause, although it seems he will not be moving on come the New Year.

While Dzeko will not be short of buyers when the transfer window reopens, he insists he will remain at the Volkswagen Arena this season.

“A transfer in the winter is not an issue at all,” he told Sport Bild magazine.

  381. Samir says:

    one*

  382. WB says:

i would love to see capello managing arsenal

  383. Pat says:

Choy, I don’t think thats correct. United defense has looked very average for a team that focuses on defending much more than us Only Evra runs up.

They’ve been lucky this season. Cahill should have gotten Bolton a pt at OT. Against us, against City.

Don’t be fooled, Vidic has had a very average season thus far.

  384. WB says:

pat, manu is the only team who is yet to concede a goal from set peice

  385. Pat says:

WB, WRONG. Chelsea scored against them

  386. choy says:

Man Utd have conceded just 13, the second best record.. chavs the least at 8.

We have conceded 18 in the league with one game in hand.

For a team that comes into their own in the second half in the season UTD are doing pretty good.

  387. Pat says:

    choy, you’re making an assumption

  388. WB says:

    yeah pat,i forgot that one.
anyone here seen 500 days of summer, heard its a good movie

  389. choy says:

    what assumption?

    Goals conceded are facts!

  390. David says:

    Naa Pat.

I think you’re not being honest enough with yourself and this team.

    United are a class apart.

They havent lost a step in their defensive options from the team that went 2 years straight to the CL finals. And has won the PL for 3 years.

  391. Pat says:

choy, the assumption was that they’ll be better 2nd half of the season.

David, haven’t lost a step? Thats not what United fans say. The number of goals they have conceded now, they conceded in March of last season!!

  392. zeus says:

United going for the jugular now. Changing to a 4-3-3.

  393. David says:

Well theyve had injuries to Vidic and Ferdinand havent they?

And Van der Saar has been away for some time no?

Only player we lost was Toure and we’ve trippled our goal deficit.

  394. Test says:

In 5 years of Arsene Wenger getting paid £5m a season we have had one title tilt where a lack of leadership on and off the pitch meant we imploded when we were asked the real question, that being how much do you want it.

its not Arsene Wengers fault, its not the players fault and its not the boards fault we find ourselves here. When 10 minutes into the citeh game you here the cry of “theres only one Arsene Wenger” then you will realize whose fault it is.

When Arsene was put under pressure in the AGM he reacted by flirting with Real Madrid, I wish he would have fucked off. Every swinging dick fan shit their pants and became a little maggot cock, some even went on a march – what cunts.

When we win fuck all again this year, as everyone who has half a brain and isnt blinded by the crap that comes out of Wengers mouth knew we would in the summer, you can blame the cunts that will say the following over the next couple of months:

“arsene will sign players in january” no doubt it will be too little too late.

“the windows closed and we got to get behind the team for fourth place” yawn

“our best chance of silverwear is in europe, our football suits it more” until we play a decent team

“Arsene has got just this summer to sort out the team” classic

“Who else could maintain our position as a top club on the same budget” dont get me started

There is only one way that Arsenes tenure at the club will end and that is when we inevitably do not make fourth spot. Chelsea and United will always finish above us, its now only a question of when Pool and Citeh manage to do it in the same season.

Thats the top and bottom of it.

  395. choy says:

thats an assumption based on the “fact” that they have always been for the last couple of years!

they just sold their best player, and are missing their first choice CB.

I thought they would struggle too, but they aren’t!

  396. luke says:

Dzeko would be fantastic but isnt he in love with Milan? Lets hope not as he would nk doubt be better than numbchucks.

    Imagine.

    Lloris
    Sagna-Gallas-Vermy-Clichy
    Cesc-Song-Nasri
    Arshavin—Dzeko—RVP

and for physcial games (like chelski), a front three of, Dzeko,RVP, and Nikki B.

  397. luke says:

Hey, maybe a french keeper could communicate and organize a french defense out better. HUgo Llroris

  398. Ray in SF says:

At the risk of injecting something less than depressing into the debate, even with two consecutive losses in the league, we are on track to have a decent season.

Compared to the equivalent 13 fixtures last season, we have scored 17 more goals, conceded 2 more goals and gathered 7 more points.

If these trends continue, we are on track to score 118 goals, concede 48 and gather 93 points.

    Not too shabby.

If these trends don’t continue, and we do no worse in the remaining 25 fixtures than last year, we are on track to score 85 goals, concede 39 and gather 79 points.

Much shabbier, but not too shabby.

Of course, better tactics, better team-selection, better defending, better finishing, improved team and individual confidence & fitness, better injury record, better refereeing & some shrewd acquisitions in the January window wouldn’t hurt.

  399. Pat says:

VDS is shit now David. Kuszczak is much better.

Rio has been their worst performer this season in the back 5, so to lose him is a blessing. Wes Brown is miles better.

    They’ve only lost Vidic really

  400. Pat says:

choy, they’ve had the easiest schedule thought!! Even in the cups, the cunts always get home draws, fucking always

  401. choy says:

I think we’ll buy a couple of kids.

  402. zeus says:

That would be some team luke. You lot has spoke at infinitum about Sakho as well, if any of your assessment is close of the mark get him in, split Gallas and Vermaelen, end off. Their partnership is not bad by any means, but we have been shipping a record amount of goals especially from set pieces.

  403. Pat says:

The fact that we have only allowed 41 shots this season means the CB partnership is in fact good.

18 of those 41 have gone in. Obviously Almunia is the problem

  404. Pat says:

clean sheet for Szczesny yet again

  405. choy says:

We’ve had the easiest schedule without a doubt!

  406. Franchise says:

head to head top 4 league since 2004

    chelsea P:33 W16: D:9 L:8 F:41 A:26 GD:15 Pts:57

    manutd P:33 W:15 D:7 L:11 F:39 A:32 GD:7 Pts:52

    arsenal P:32 W:8 D:11 L:13 F:37 A:49 GD:-12 Pts:35

    liverpool P:32 W:9 D:7 L:16 F:32 A:42 GD:-10 Pts:34

  407. WB says:

szczesny is rocking league one,he made 2,3 excellent saves in match today and kept a clean sheet,i think a loan offer from lower prem club or some championship club will surely come this january.he can be ready for us by next season

  408. reggie57 says:

zeus the reason we are shipping record goals isnt down to gallas/tv its down to the beach-boy who spreads panic thru-out the team as soon as a ball comes into the penalty box…..

  409. Pat says:

No way Choy. United have had the most home matches.

  410. choy says:

alright pat, we’ll agree to disagree.

can’t keep going on all night!

  411. Samir says:

    ________Lloris
    Sagna-Sakho-Vermy-Clichy
    ____Song-Cesc-Veloso
    ___Arshavin—Dzeko—RVP

I hope we see this line up next season.
With 2 defensively minded players beside Cesc hopefully we would not concede so many goals, also allowing Cesc to stay up and create more!!
Lloris is absolutely amazing and would defiantly lower the amount conceded.

Gallas would start most games with Sakho taking over when he’s feeling a bit tired.

    Dzeko-18M
    Lloris- 12M
    Veloso- 7M
    Sakho- 10M
    =37M

    Ade sold for 30M
    Toure 15M
    -Vermy (11M)
    =34M in the bank.
After our CL and PL money we can easily afford it.

  412. zeus says:

Oh God, Veloso again. Thjis guy is like Huntelaar, everyone wants him but no one buys him unless there is some massive injury and panic buying ala real madrid with RVN. He is okay nothing more.

  413. Samir says:

    Ok change him for Inler?
    Or an unknown Vermy type?

  414. Samir says:

Whenever I have seen Veloso play he has impressed.
    Good power,pace and shots.
He supposedly oftenly argues with Manager+players though :S

  415. Samir says:

    Anyway’s I’m off lads.
    Gd night :)

  416. luke says:

Sakho and Gallas are both 6 ft 1

  417. luke says:

subotic on the other hand is 6 ft 4

  418. WB says:

well samir,i think nasri can play that veloso role quite easily.i would take matuidi as song’s cover and i dont think we can get lloris for 12m,atleast 20m i guess

  419. Stu says:

Sakho couldnt play next to Vermaelen because they are both left footers. It would be too awkward.

  420. luke says:

    jesus, 20 million for lloris?

  421. Stu says:

Apparently so. He is young french and starts for both club and country. Lyon wouldnt let him leave cheaply.

  422. WB says:

and ofcoure lyon is itself a big spender, there is no way we can get him for less than 20,and thats why i cant see him coming to arsenal.
adler and neuer can also do it for us,or maybe frey!

  423. perry groves lovechild says:

top 5 finish,5th round of the fa cup,5 year deals(on improved terms capped at 80k a week)for the whole squad,5 years without silverware,5 players injured all season,5 transfere targets lined up in january,5 transfere targets we miss out on in january, wenger another 5 million in salary to his bank account!

  424. luke says:

the squad is good. It is just missing a few players. CF, CDM, CM, CB, GK. Okay, maybe more than a few. We need some more height bad though. If there are any fullbacks that are over 6 ft, we should pounce on them. Clichy wasnt doing great before his injury, Sagna isnt looking as good as he was his first year.

  425. zeus says:

How about getting in Sol Campbell on loan. It always surprised me that Wenger has never used the loan option. I know he left under questionable conditions and given his age he couldn’t be expected to play in the majority of our games but certainly as an option off the bench he is better than our lot.

Plus if Wenger uncharacteristically buys someone in January, he will buy an attacker, probably a striker which is not so uncharacteristic of him. With our luck as soon as the window closes we hear Gallas or TV5 is out till season’s end. Then its nightmare Silvestre.

  426. luke says:

    Subotic is the man.

  427. Pat says:

Samir, that adds up to 47 million.

Veloso knows how to throw his body around, is a good passer and can take set pieces.

A frontline of Arshavin-Dzeko-RVP gets me really excited

  428. luke says:

    In- Dzeko 20m
    Subotic 14m
    GK
    Matuidi 8-9 m

  429. choy says:

    Stop dreaming guys

When has wenger ever spent 47 mill?

He will spend max 15 mill on a player and that’s it!

  430. Pat says:

We won’t get Dzeko. He’s hell bent on joining Milan.

Chamakh or Gignac. I wouldn’t mind RVN either.

    Lloris or neuer

    Sakho, Cetin or Subotic

A CDM to cover for song

  431. luke says:

choy, 5 years without a trophy makes you start dreaming

  432. luke says:

Bordeaux dont want to sell chamakh because they qualified and they need him. We wuldnt offer enough anyway, and even if we did, he probably isnt worth that much. Gignac is pretty average.

  433. choy says:

yeah luke, but he has zero pressure to buy.

We just have to suffer till he decides to leave.

  434. B.B.K. says:

all this chamakh talk isn’t he off to the a.c.o.n

  435. luke says:

didnt wenger call RVN a cheat…would he sing him>

  436. WB says:

what about carlton cole, imo,he can do the job for us,and probably wont cost too much and is neither cup tied

  437. luke says:

    no bbk, morocco didnt qualify

  438. B.B.K. says:

wengers just saying he will be in the market to try and restore some order, over then that he will probably be hitting babies r us for some new players

  439. B.B.K. says:

    ah ok luke i didn’t no that,thanks

  440. Stu says:

However good Neuer or Lloris are Wenger wont buy them because they are roughly the same age as Fabianski.

The best we can hope for is an aged keeper who only has a few years left. That was once that keeper retires Fabianski or Chesney will be ready. Someone like Lehmann would fit the bill. Germany is the place to shop..

  441. B.B.K. says:

20 million for carlton cole lol

  442. Ja-Gunner says:

No BBK..Morocco didnt qualify….but we wont get him anyway because Bordeauex needs him..he is worth more to them playing than selling him for less than 10 mil…

If he doesnt leave Bordeaux…then maybe we can ghet him summer if we still need him

  443. luke says:

Dzeko would be perfect. What the hell is so special about milan edin?

  444. choy says:

cole is out for a couple of months

  445. B.B.K. says:

t.b.h i don’t really think he will improve us

  446. Stu says:

This past summer was our one and only chance to get Chamakh. He is cup tied now and as many have already said Bordeaux wont want to sell for nothing and lose a key player. And this summer when he is on a free he will no doubt go to the highest bidder which definately wont be us…Juve probably.

  447. B.B.K. says:

milan is a more of a attractive club to join then arsenal, naturally,if you had the chance to sign for arsenal or milan there’s only one winner

  448. Stu says:

Dzeko grew up supporting them Luke.

  449. luke says:

    oh great

  450. Ja-Gunner says:

I dont think we necessarily need a striker…

What we need is a change in formation to allow 2 strikers…this way the opposition Cbs will have to guys to deal with (even if they are small)…if the CBs have 2 guys to deal with..it will make a big difference…

We should switch to 4-4-2 diamond..or you could call it 4-1-3-2….its the same as the 4-3-3 but just invert the front triangle….so instead of 2 wingers and a CF….you would have one guy in the hole and two CFs.. I think this way we will atleast 2-3 ppl in the box instead of 1…

We should pair Eduardo with either vela or Theo…
also we really dont need to play Song and Denilson together…one or the other…

    …………….Song/Denilson…………..
    …Cesc……………………..Rosick/Diaby…
    ……………..Nasri/Asrhavin…………..
    ………………………….Eddy……….
    ………….Theo/Vela…………………..

Then when Bendy comes back he can lead the line again with one of theo vela or eddy in support

  451. Ja-Gunner says:

I think the change in formation can get us through the season…..but for summer , yes we should buy a powerful striker to play alongside RVP…

We cant rely on RVP alone because when he goes down inevitably..this will happen again…

  452. Pat says:

Wrong Stu, Chamakh has no interest going to Italy. He wants to move to the PL.

  453. WB says:

Ja-Gunner,i agree with you.with all the players we have a formation with second striker suits us,rvp and arshavin both can be very effective second strikers.

  454. B.B.K. says:

we do need a striker, what the fuck are theo and vela going to do,eduardo’s fucked he will not be the same player either.

  455. ethangunner says:

I dont think we necessarily need a striker…
    ———————————————-

oh so how else do we supply enough goals to win games then ?

    put nik on ?
ja i think you still have too much faith in mediocrity .

last season RVP was the best we had , now out for 5 months with no ade EVEN! as back up .
not much has changed since last season , in fact id say we were on par for a 4th spot at best finish . AS PER USUAL !

    This club needs players ..
    QUALITY PLAYERS !

however if we are just a 4th spot team maybe its me who should accept it !

    BUT I CANT !
and the only way back to greatness is spend .

  456. Pat says:

BBK, the injury didn’t affect Eduardo. We saw that when he came back last season. Looked very good. The whole diving saga has affected him.

  457. ethangunner says:

    BBK

    agree 1oo% ..

thou im sure with wenger fast running out of options its what he will have to do , especially this month 8 games in 4 weeks with RVP out and dudu not in form … the season will be over prior to jan 1st !

  458. B.B.K. says:

ethan the season was over when r.v.p got injured for holland

  459. ethangunner says:

    well pat ,

if the injury didnt affect his form , the only other excuse is he ISNT THAT GOOD !
so either way something must be done to sew up the front line , especially with RVP out for 5 months !

i said these 2 couldnt and shouldnt be relied upon pre – season ! and now the season is in the toilet !

  460. ethangunner says:

    BBK

the season was over on sept 1st when the transfer window closed for me boyo !

  461. B.B.K. says:

lollll you got a point there

  462. Ja-Gunner says:

    ethan/bbk..

Where the fuck are we going to find a quality strikerin January?

Let me name some big fast powerful aggressive strikers

    1. chamakh( Bordeeaux will not sell in january)
    2. Dzeko(Wolfsburg will not sell in jan)
    3. fabiano(Sevilla will not seel in January0

So because Wenger did not but in summer…it cannot be rectified now…

    4. carlton cole(doubt struggling West ham will sell their best player while battling relagation plus he is injured

The only guy avaialble is probably

    Pavlychenko

Guys I might have found the answer, he will be glad to leave Tottenham..he probably hates them for not playing him..plus Arshy is here as well

    so my nomination is pavlychenko!!!!!!!!!

  463. B.B.K. says:

ja chamakh quality????? the only one i would take from that list is fabiano

  464. Ja-Gunner says:

Wenger 12 mil will get you pavlychenko….he is itching to leave Tottenpop..

Plus we will have 2 russians….which will be determined to win something to make up for the World cup misery…

    Maybe arshy will perk up..

Arsene sign Pavlychenko january…he is already in England..its the perfect solution

    ………………..Song/Denilson………………..
    ….Cesc…………………………Rosick/Diaby…
    …………………Nasri/Arshavin……………..
    …………………………….Eddy/Vela……….
    ………….Theo/Pavlychenko……………………

  465. WB says:

maybe wenger goes for huntelaar,u cant predict wenger

  466. ethangunner says:

id like to know the difference between blooding players in the carling cup OR the EPL …

ok you blood jet – randall watts etc in the carling cup , or you blood denilson – diaby – song in the EPL .. Either way for me you see average young players in an arsenal shirt trying to beat superior teams for bragging rights , it now happens every week …

so for me i cant see what wenger is doing different than any other EPL game . if anything id use every possible game i could and get THE BEST team selection together to build some confidence, continuity & understanding up but NOT changing team selections !

  467. ethangunner says:

    ja –

wenger has cash .. he isnt in a sellers market current i admit ..but we are desperate , wenger will probably go for chamakh , i agree with you there .

but id prefer the other 2 !

he will have to PAY for his new player(s) this window .
but wenger likes to buy in january , he did with AA last season and i think he will have to again shortly !

but he might opt to sit on the fence and hope theo- vela- nik b finds some form …
i think its a 50 -50 call .wengers urges to NOT spend are strong .. but like geoff says he dont mind taking a big salary off them annually .

But its obvious wenger over estimates this squad as do others ..

  468. Ja-Gunner says:

ethan..what do you think of Pavlychenko?

Hunter has finally scored for AC so maybe they will want to hold unto him….

Plus the Hunter has all the attributes except he is slow…..so i say no…

I say Pavlychenko is the man….Hiddink seems to rate him highly because even though Tottenpop does not play him..he is still the CF for Russia everytime….even when Pogrebnyak is fit……

Pogregnyak was the one I wanted Arsene to sign but the Germans signed him early

  469. Ja-Gunner says:

Heres another advantage of signing the Pavlychenko..he wont be in the World Cup so he will be fresh and ready to go…after the summer….you never know RVP might play the World cup only to get injured again and miss the start of the season

  470. ethangunner says:

Pavlychenko.. hmmmm he hasnt done much for the spuds …

but thats not to say him linking up with AA23 wouldnt be a good move .. sort of like cesc and villa …

yes i think anyone would fill the gap ja !..
even jo – saha .. anyone how can at least have a crack at goal ..

but you know we need someone in with a killer eye for goal (not another hopeful) , as all our strikers are molded with the pass once too many times for the perfect goal style of play , we need someone direct who scores for fun …and can change the way we play for the better up top ,and until we get that experience in the front line (like dogbra for the chev’s ) we will lose those key encounters ..

its taken 1 year for the midfield to get sorted and the defense to settle , we are 1 front line away from being in contention ….

oh and 1 goal keeper :)

oh and 1 seasoned DM who doesnt go missing every 2 years :)

  471. ethangunner says:

    ja

ive never questioned RVP’s quality only his fitness , and for that reason it might be better to off load him in the past 3-4 years how much has he played …

    same for rosicky ..

there’s some very very obvious reasons we dont win shite !

its such a MIX of problems i cant see them all getting sorted out within 6 months ..

    unless you BUY !

  472. Eaglegunner says:

Not sure if i will be kept in moderation before i’m allowed to blog, but here goes.

I’ve been frequenting this blog for quite a while reading all the posts but not posting any of mine. I have been intrigued by the dialogue on here and i have to admit, over the years i have been extremely pro-Wenger and have had the opportunity to talk to him personally and work with him when involved with the Kanu Heart Foundation back when Kanu was playing for the gunners.

Even though i found AW to be an extremely insightful and intelligent man….right now i have to say that for the last 2/3 seasons i have begun to doubt him as a Manager especially last season.

I lost it last season just before the Jan window and cancelled my ATV Online subscription AND red membership as well. I received the obligatory email reminding me that my DD had been stopped and i replied by saying ‘due to the direction that the club seem to have taken into rewarding mediocrity, i have chosen to no longer finance such from my hard earned money!’ suffice to say i didnt get any response to that.

I also stopped buying any more merchandise(having just bought the new home jersey with Eduardo 9 on the back complete with Barclays premier league badge on the sleeve as well as the shorts & socks for both me and my lady), didnt bother with the Emirates Cup as i usually do and didnt buy any tickets through my usual red membership.

I have been one of AW’s biggest fans and have resolutely defended him to the hilt in arguements with friends, foe and family all over the place.

But…. i have to say, enough is enough! I have lost TOTAL confidence in Arsene Wenger as the manager of AFC. He has left me feeling very empty on too many an occasion where i’d expect us to at least put up some kind of resistance/fight/performance?

I am very annoyed with his post 04/05 attitude. Its like he doesn’t even feel that we fans need to be respected? Tell us the truth or keep quiet! Dont bull shit us! I hate white lies!

I shall try to calm down and post more insightfully later as that 0-3 thrashing at home still hurts!

  473. Ja-Gunner says:

Ethan here is what I say….

    Winter
    1. Sign fucking Pavlychenko..he is strong and tall

    Summer
    1. yaya toure
    2. Fabinaski develops/Sign World class goal keeper

These 3 things can turn us into contenders….

I believe if we get a commanding goalkeeper then the Gallas + Vermaelen partnership is good enough…

If we had a keeper that woud come out and claim crosses etc and communicate it would take so much pressure off Gallas and Vermy…

    For me

    1. World class Goalkeeper
    2. Yaya toure (quality CDM who can also play CB)
    3. Pavlychenko(big powerful striker)

And of course I suggest pavlychenko because thats the only gettable option I see in the winter unless we want to trust that Bendy comes back and delivers…

  474. Jay says:

Andrey Arshavin has told Arsene Wenger to splash the cash if Arsenal are serious about competing with the top sides in the Premier League.

The Gunners were destroyed 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium by Chelsea on Sunday, while they have also suffered league defeats against Sunderland, Manchester United and Manchester City.

And Arshavin admits the north London giants will have to go on a massive spending spree when the transfer window opens in January if they are to salvage their season.

He said: “What I feel bitter about is that we lose in all the big matches. That’s disappointing and also lets certain doubts creep into my mind.

“I think Arsene Wenger needs to buy new players, and expensive ones too. Why? Because all the talented and inexpensive players are already with us at Arsenal.”

Chelsea are now red-hot title favourites, but they will lose key players like Didier Drogba and Michael Essien when the African Cup starts next month and Arshavin added: “Chelsea are now 11 points ahead of us, although we played one game less.

“At the moment they look the strongest team, I agree with that. They have attacking players who can make use of opponents’ slightest defensive mistakes.

“The African Cup is looming and Chelsea stand to suffer from it most of all. So it is not going to be that easy for them.”

  475. Jay says:

LIONEL MESSI has been crowned European Footballer of the Year — by the biggest margin EVER!
The Barcelona star was pipped to the Ballon d’Or by Cristiano Ronaldo last season.

But after Champions League glory as well as a Spanish league and cup Double, he was the runaway winner this year.

Messi polled 473 votes — more than twice as many as Real Madrid’s Ronaldo, who had 233.

Argentina ace Messi said: “There’s lots of emotion – the Ballon d’Or is very important for me.

“I know I appeared among the favourites because Barcelona had a profitable year.

“For me it’s a big honour to win – but also to become the first Argentinian in history to receive the trophy.

“I dedicate it to my family, they were always present when I needed them and sometimes felt even stronger emotions than me.”

Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney and Chelsea forward Didier Drogba were eighth and ninth.

Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard completed the top 10.

  476. ethangunner says:

    RE: jay post

yes we need top class players but who would come AA ?

Arsene would need to change his stance on player recruitment prior to luring top names to arsenal .

    cant see it happening ..
we couldnt even get dzeko to join us …

  477. ethangunner says:

Balotelli is a good call ja !

  478. ethangunner says:

its funny in october nik B was out for 4 weeks

5 weeks later he is still out !

  479. ethangunner says:

nik b is more capable of coming up with goals that matter than dudu does .Whilst he is not the long term answer currently i hope he returns quickly .

as he has been known to swing the odd game
(V liverpool CC ) so what im saying he is our best option , along with theo who you know can score on the odd occasion . neither are ideal !

but dudu seems to have the hleb disease of 1 pass too many .. be direct dudu you can be a hero ! get greedy like ade barn door , you can be a hero if you want !

the stage is set for you …

    we are waiting !@

  480. zeus says:

Interesting that some of us want a formation change when Wenger changed the formation to fit our best players in the first place.

The 4-3-3 formation is fine. It allows us to have many quality players on the pitch at the same time.

I’m no fan of the 4-4-2 with this. Lets just look at the midfield going forward. Our most dangerous player, Fabregas gets a lot of freedom to do damage in our current formation and as a result he has 8 goals and 11 assists (I think) so far. Is the answer to put him back on a leash and make him play deeper? I don’t think so.

Then what of the wingers. If the Sunderland game taught us anything (if we already didn’t learn it early on with Hleb and Rosicky playing wide)its that we need quick wingers to play out wide. That means Vela and Walcott only for us. Or we may even see Wenger put Arshavin out there, and how many times have we complained that he is wasted side wide and deep. At least in our current formation he is much closer to the penalty area where he should be.
Nasri and Rosicky out wide means we become narrow because their natural inclination is to come inside to create.

And what if AA23 is played central. Who partners him, RVP? Then how will Bendtner get a chance? is Eduardo fast enough to play as a winger?
There are so many more questions to answer to, but the long story is it certainly limits the amount of quality players on the pitch at the same time. With this lot its the best formation, were just too lightweight to deal with the big boys.

  481. ethangunner says:

    zeus

its alright to play a 3-3-4 when you have quality players like barca on the pitch ..

but AA23 has been disillusioned lately and his form is off , cesc is good for the odd goal but in the tough games you cant expect the midfield to be the answer for scoring goals , every good team in the world has a seasoned striker !

i think our midfeild did ok .. even with song and denilson , the REAL problem was.. ‘not finishing our chances’ ..

    or even creating ANY !

    we had enough possession .
so we should of created ..
song and denilson should of created more sure , but if we had a striker who loves scoring it could have tipped the momentum our way ..
    Early …

and im not talking about a striker who has potential .. id rather have one who is about to take off.

Balotelli is a great idea however !
he is very very very highly rated ..
its more the type of youth wenger should be after , thats for sure …

if he only opted for that sort of quality to begin with ,things would be alot more successful now !

now we are stuck with senderos and a few goal keepers who’s careers are on hold. song , denilson , diaby big al and all the others who didnt look attractive enough to be sold over the past few years …

thats the problem with the youth program too many klingons who are average !

wenger should be more ruthless like he was with the invincibles

  482. Pat says:

FINALLY WENGER HAS REALIZED PROJECT YOUTH AIN’T GOING ANYWHERE….. I JUST HOPE HE WILL BUY THE PLAYERS EARLY AND NOT WAIT FOR END OF JANUARY WHEN THE WINDOW ALMOST CLOSES.

Arsenal will be seeking new players in the January transfer window because of Robin van Persie’s long-term injury, manager Arsene Wenger said on Tuesday.

Wenger had said earlier that he was unlikely to spend and was happy with the squad but losing the Dutch striker for four to five months with an ankle injury has changed his thinking.

“I didn’t feel we were in the need to buy anybody but we will be out on the market that is for sure now,” he told the Arsenal website (www.arsenal.com). “However we will only make a decision if it suits us.”

Arsenal are fourth overall and 11 points behind Chelsea in the Premier League, although with a game in hand, after losing to the leaders 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium at the weekend.

The Dutchman, who had scored eight goals in his last 11 matches for Arsenal, was injured in a friendly between Netherlands and Italy last month after landing badly following a tackle.

The North London club have also lost England under-21 fullback Kieran Gibbs for three months after he broke a bone in his left foot last month, while Danish forward Nicklas Bendtner is recovering from groin surgery.

And, for mr that will be it, one possible purchase, no replace ‘keeper, no additional CB and certainly no powerhouse CMer……

@ gnarleygeorge9 ….Amen to your call. If i knew the witchdoctor who had been hired to put a spell on Ronaldo i would hire him to put a spell on all our EPL titke contenders and Champions League..WE SERIOUSLY NEED A TROPHY THIS SEASON…

When i was a kid i used to hear Fergusson had hired some witchdoctors in Tanzania and Zanzibar to guarantee them success and it truly worked. SAF has gone on to win different trophies since then.

OH GOD HELP US NOW! Any Nigerian brothers o this blogg please…….HELPOOOH! CHINEKEH!

Wenger won’t sign what we need, he patch it as he always does, remember when he got Bitchslap? Who advised him on that one???

  512. Jaguar says:

Bitchslap was one of the worst signings of Mr.Wenger.It showed how stubborn and idiotic he can be.He signed that bastard, paid all the expenses and let him go for free.

  514. Geoff says:

So wages would have been £2mil based on £40k a week and training, living ex’s and medical would have been another £1mil, so that would have gone some way to bringing in an Inler.

    Anyway, new post!

  515. Franchise says:

ive almost been sent to the gallows by some on here cos I said in August that I had almost lost 100% faith in Arsene.

VP injury is no reason to rush into the market to buy if he really had a deep squad to pick from. After all we still have 3 fit strikers

does he really give a shit about defending? apparently chavs have not conceded in 8 of their last 9 in all competitions and have not conceded at home in thwe league since hull on day 1

if we gave a shit about defending we woul;d have at least been 5 points better of.

assuming we drew at OT after taking the lead
    beat west ham
    drew at sunderland

the guy really doesnt know how to build a winning machine anymore. he needs a kick up the arse

  516. Jaguar says:

And AKBs keep ranting about how well he is managing the club.Retards.
