Is there a doctor in the house? I mean a real one? Oi,Thierry didn’t hand ball it.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

First of all Robin the boy wonder is out for the season and we had to live with that all weekend, then came the really good news that world cup hopeful Keiran Gibbs had broken his ankle and we’ve had two day to feel sick about that too.

Then we find out Robin will be back in six weeks and Keiran will be back for the chav game next week, so does anyone out there in the world of footballing injuries know what they are talking about? I make that 4 days of seeing my season go down the shitter only to be told ‘April fool’ sucker.

At least we got away with what could have been a nasty situation, we should tell UEFA it’s ManU’s turn next time, I’m sick of it.

Thierry Henry is getting dreadful stick for a hand balling incident yesterday, well it clearly wasn’t hand ball in my eyes, juggling maybe, but not hand ball, the thing is the Irish have had 2 years to qualify, Henry’s miss-demeaner wasn’t to blame, leaving it to the last game was.

So who did I want to win? Well on one side you have that whelk Roy Keane’s spud brother and the ex chav Damien Duff beer, on the other side you have William Gallas and Bacary Sagna, sorry Ireland, no contest.

Also Shay Given played in the Manshitty team that cheated us out of 3 points at the Eastlands this season, that same game the Togo twat ran the whole length of the pitch to goad, sorry, I don’t forget easily Shay.

I know we have a lot of Irish Grovers so please don’t think I have any issue with Ireland, this is all about Arsenal and Keane doesn’t play for Arsenal, as I said in a post earlier, I’m not interested in the national team anymore, it’s Arsenal for me, so when I watch internationals, I’m only looking at the Arsenal boys.

As far as the Henry juggle is concerned it’s a shame, because that’s what he will be remembered for in football now, not his brilliance, but his cheating. Not a nice way of signing off.

What will be interesting though is to see Platini’s take on it, what will he do? Especially knowing that Henry doesn’t play for Arsenal any more.

Anyway, this is an Arsenal blog, so let’s get back to what’s important, will Sagna and Gallas be fit? I mean we have Sunderland, Liege and the chavs coming up in quick succession, will he be tempted to draft in Senderos? Silvestre is already playing, will he put Eboue in for Bacari? Will Ramsey start? One thing is for sure, the Sunderland team will have had a nice rest, so they’ll be up for it.

I know Eboue played against Germany last night but it was just a friendly, but the fact is, when you have a team as good as ours, they will always be playing in these worthless internationals so I guess we have to live with it.

Great news is Eduardo has signed a new and improved long term contract, let’s hope he pays that back against Sunderland at the weekend.

Have a great day today Grovers, I guess Thierry has given you all great debating material!

The Irish Justice Minister has demanded a rematch after a blatant handball put France into the football World Cup finals.

Dermot Ahern lashed out at governing body Fifa after the Republic was cruelly beaten by a controversial extra-time goal illegally set up by French captain Thierry Henry.

Dubbed “Le Hand”, the Barcelona star confessed to using his arm to control the ball before squaring for teammate William Gallas to finish.

Mr Ahern, a passionate soccer fan, called for Fifa to be called to account in the interests of fair play.

“They probably won’t grant it as we are minnows in world football but let’s put them on the spot,” the minister said. “It’s the least we owe the thousands of devastated young fans around the country. Otherwise, if that result remains, it reinforces the view that if you cheat, you will win.”

The Republic were widely praised as the better side over the two-leg play-off, which they lost 2-1 on aggregate.

Fans were already up in arms after Fifa changed world seedings in the run-up to the play-off draw, effectively lining Ireland up for a difficult tie with one of Europe’s bigger footballing nations.

Pundits also said officials missed an offside in the run-up to the winning goal. “Thierry Henry has admitted handling the ball, claims he told the ref he handled it,” the minister said. “Millions of people worldwide saw it was a blatant double handball – not to mention a double offside – and we should put the powers that be in the cosy world of Fifa on the spot and demand a replay.”

The Republic’s assistant manager Liam Brady also backed calls for a replay. “For the dignity and integrity of football, we will go to France and play again,” the coach said.

“(Fifa president) Sepp Blatter goes on about fair play – let him reflect on what happened last night. Where is football going if a team is cheated out of fair play? Where are we going if this decision stands?”

‘They probably won’t grant it as we are minnows in world football’

Did I miss the match they replayed for a massive team knocked out because of a handball?

  6. insidealbania

I think AW will use the Liege game to rest some of the players anyway, especially those who ave had two international matches.

  7. nishanth

Yeah..He might play sagna and gallas on saturday and play senderos and eboue against liege.I don’t arshavin will start against sunderland though

  8. Rohan

What do you think the media would be saying if Evra were the person who handled the ball and not Henry ?
THere would still be a furore but not as big a one as this.

  9. ThaiGunner

Anyone fancy moving onto the weekend’s action.
Very interested in seeing the team put out by Wenger.

    Almunia
    Sylvestre Gallas Vermaelen Sagna
    Diaby Cesc Song
    Arshavin Eduardo Nasri

    What d’ya reckon?

  10. Rohan

I want to see Denilson given a game however unlikely as I would hate to see Song given a yellow ( pretty likely ) and miss the Chavski game..

  11. Rohan

Did I tell you about the dream I had last night where RvP scored the winner in the Champions league final against ManUtd. with a 30 yard free-kick thunderbolt..

  12. ManGoonian

Rohan; No you didnt tell us about the dream where RvP scores the winner in the Champions league final against ManUtd. with a 30 yard free-kick thunderbolt. Why dont you tell us about it… ?

  13. ManGoonian

    nish;

    More than likely yeah

So, we have a lot of players coming back, including Fabianski… With a frw more really close to comebacks!

    Things are definitely lookin up…

Its a pity its been such a slow news day, with nothing of interest goin on, but you cant have everything…

  14. Rohan

    I just did :D
That’s all i remember, a pity really.. oh it was in injury time and somehow I was at the game which is a bit rich really..

  15. Geoff

I just watched Sky news, they had the Irish Justice minister on calling for at least a replay.

He said what sort of an example did Henry set to kids, sense of justice and fair play. Hmmmm I thought, go and ask the victims of Omagh that very same question, then put what you asked into perspective you condescending prick.

I wonder where the people that did are all still living.

  17. Geoff

Manc he even called it soccer and added that Ireland had the best fans in the world.

He said the fans could have caused trouble and they had a right too, but didn’t, what a complete cunt.

  18. Hurley Burley

Omagh ? – calm down Geoff

No team should get to a WC in the manner that France did last night. Simply not right and fair.

A video ref would have sorted it in 15 seconds.

  19. Hurley Burley

Denilson – is it a coincidence that our best run of form in years coincided with him being injured ?

I think not. Hope he pulls a hamstring on his return.

  20. ManGoonian

The teamj struggled after Denilson fiorst got injured, but a clueless prick wouldnt know that…

Not content with callin Arsenal’s greatest player scum, you want our players injured..

You are the scum round here

  21. ManGoonian

    choy;

Exactly, plus we took a while to get back on form when he was injured. I know people have their favourites, but wishing injuries on our won players…

Now that is despicable… And this cunt has got on his high horse about a handball

  22. Hurley Burley

    Póg mo thóin ManG

Since when was this your site

We are a better team without Denilson – I do not think too many would argue with that. He is pedestrian at best.

  23. Rohan

Was it just a coincidence that once Denilson went off against City, we conceded 3 goals? I think not.
To wish injury upon a player, especially on one of your own is a cardinal sin in my books.

  24. Hurley Burley

    ManG

What you know about football would’nt fill a stamp.

It was my young lad who said TH14 was scum – I said that was a very sad thing.

  25. ManGoonian

You have shown yourself up you prick!

Blathering on about henry all fuckin day, saying he is scum, blah blah blah… Then wishing an injury on one of our players…. You twat…

    You’re an idiot.

  26. Rohan

I’m not saying Denilson is the answer to all our problems, but he isnt that bad, same like Song is decent enough. He’s no Essien but he’s better than 90percent of DM’s in the PL.

  27. Rohan

Hurley Burley. how can you get on your high chair calling someone a cheat for a handball that can’t even be confirmed as deliberate and then blatantly wish injury upon a player returning from injury. Sorry, but that makes me laugh.

  28. insidealbania

Hurley up until now I did not call you anything. I said you were talking bollox, but I did not call you any names, but since you started then Go-fuck yourself and tell you pikie son to get over it, otherwise you two can make a suicide pact an put yourselves out of you collective misery while you sport a Robbie Keane shirt.

  29. Hurley Burley

    A spud me arse.

Was going to Highbury long before most of you were in School.

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has praised Arsene Wenger and labelled him a ‘genius’.

The Black Cats take on Wenger’s Arsenal at the Stadium of Light on Saturday and will be hoping to continue their excellent home form, but will be up against a Gunners outfit who have been deadly in front of goal so far this season.

Bruce revealed that he gets on extremely well with Wenger, and said the French tactician was one of the all-time great managers.

“I get on well with Arsene and, of all the managers, he’s probably helped me the most,” he told the Sunderland Echo.

“He helped me get promoted with Birmingham by giving me three players on loan in one season – Nicklas Bendtner, Fabrice Muamba and Sebastian Larsson – and I’ll always be grateful for that.

“They were arguably my three best players that season, so they had a massive influence on getting the club up.

“Arsenal are an exceptionally young, gifted team and the fella in charge is bordering on a genius.

“He’s produced team after team, sold player after player and yet always managed to find other players to take their place.

“He’s quite an incredible manager and, with his current crop of players, the future looks very, very healthy indeed for Arsenal.

“He’s got to be up there with the greats because of how his teams play and the way he keeps on producing players and teams.”

    Praise

Wenger has won many plaudits for the easy-on-the-eye style of football that his team play, although certain quarters argue that Arsenal need to win a trophy this season if they are going to keep progressing.

However, this is not a view shared by the Sunderland manager, who added: “People say Arsene and Arsenal need to win something this season, but I don’t think so.

“They haven’t won anything for four or five years but they have been through a long transitional period, and in that time they’ve moved to a new stadium and sold some big players.

“But the one thing Arsene has always done is produce more great young players.

“Certainly, the Arsenal fans would love to see their team win a trophy, but I am also sure they are delighted with their club and the way it is run – it’s a flagship club in football.”

The Black Cats currently lie in eighth in the Premier League table with 17 points from 12 games, but Bruce admits beating the Gunners is no mean feat.

“As for us, we’re under no illusions, we know it will be tough taking on the sort of side that Arsenal are,” he said.

“People were maybe a bit dismissive of them at the start of the season but they are second in the league and scoring a stack of goals, knocking in fours and fives and because of where they are now as we approach December, they genuinely have to be considered as potential champions.”

  32. goonermichael

I did. I’d have enjoyed it more if it was the mancs though. I hope they get knocked out of the CL by a cheating portugese ladyboy.

  33. B.B.K.

and that celtic cunt writing that thing about arsenal earlier on,them cunts deserved that especially after the way them slags treated the minute silence the other week…oh yeah they forgot about that didn’t they

  34. Pedro

    Hurley, less of the abuse.

You’ve been trying to get sympathy all day for subject that no one really gives a shit about.

This is an Arsenal blog… not an Irish National team blog. Leave your sob stories at the door please.

  35. Gunners The Stunners

Arsenal’s mutual partnership with Spanish Segunda outfit UD Salamanca has officially come to an end. However, the club have maintained their base on the continent by re-establishing their previous link with Celta Vigo.

Young Guns announced in September that Arsenal were considering cancelling the partnership with Salamanca following their treatment of both Havard Nordtveit and Pedro Botelho during loan spells. The latter was even withdrawn early after allegations that assistant manager Fran Albert had been attempting to black-mail Pedro into handing over money.

Celta Vigo have been handed a second chance to link with the Gunners after an acrimonious split over a row with Carlos Vela in 2006. After promising they would loan the Mexican, they signed too many non E.U players and were unable to add Vela to their ranks. Yet after Salamanca’s Sporting Director Miguel Torrecilla switched to Celta in the summer, Arsenal have now rekindled the relationship which was initially setup by David Dein.

After a struggling start to the season, Celta’s initial push for promotion appears to be over already, but future non-EU players look certain to make the switch to Spain. The club will also look for a new man to look after the arrangement after Richard Law was promoted to Ivan Gazidis’ excutive team following a successful interview for the post during pre-season.

  36. goonermichael

I can’t have sound BBK. Thanks though. Not suprising is it? I’ve been in a pub in clapahm junction in the 70′s when they come round collecting money for the cause. There was an Irish regimant fighting for Napoleon against the british. They hate us. Why should we have any sympathy?

  37. B.B.K.

they love it on that radio station, anything to do with arsenal and there on it,he don;t even play for us any more that’s how you know they have an agenda against the club

  38. renegadebison

if you want to see our boys not get overly fatigued and injured as always in internationals it would have been much better if france didn’t qualify. then we could have had nasri, gallas, sagna, clichy, diaby as well as arshavin all rested over the summer where the other teams don’t get that chance. would have done us no end of good!

  39. Ooby

Just in – Germany seeking a rematch on WW1 – apparantly on Xmas day in 1914 Private Sydney Althorp, from Sandwich, handled the ball.

  40. Paul88

Did anyone listen to talksport the other night? Collymore said. He’d have been one of the best…no the best player in the world if he’d been coached by sir alex.

When a gooner called in and told him he was delusional all he could say was “you must be 12, you’re an idiot”

  41. Rohan

Wasnt Ronnie Irani a cricketer ?? What the fuck is he doing on Talksport now – he can barely string together a sentence.

  42. Pedro

Gough and Irani have zip knowledge about anything other than football… it’s embarrassing listening to those two waffle.

I quite like listening to Cundy tear Durham a new arsehole when he’s on!

  43. jamie m

I think henry will suffer for this a bit unfairly,it looks bad but as Doyle said after the game its really just adrenaline that makes you do those things. He did not expect to get away with it, he was as surprised as anyone that he did i’d say.I’m Irish and i don’t blame him at all but its a shame for him now because you know its big news when probably the biggest political blog in America” The Huffington Post ” have video of it on there website and it will probably tarnish his reputation, much like Zidanes headbutt in the world cup final did for him

  44. Micky Did It 89

Quick evening all. GoonerM: must catch up on the Clash thing again sometime. I saw them many times, but supported by Sham 69? Sham had a massive skinhead following. Clash, no way.
So fucking glad the Irish lost..
BBK: the other day you said “nothing nice ever happens”. Classic. Love the bad attitude.
Hurley was a cunt, eh? Red card, Micky.

  45. ManGoonian

Ahh, Talkshite is a right cunts convention…

Ronnie Iriani was hirwed after a long exhaustive search, so that Wotsit brazil could finally have a co-presenter denser than him…

Its a tough call, what with Durham, Townsend, Cundy et al, but Collymore is the biggest twat of the lot of em…

  46. Micky Did It 89

    Hey ManG.
I have put many thousands of pounds into AFC over the years, so feel I have earned the right to some answers. Like, why the fuck is Rosicky fit? We pay good money to keep the sick bay open and staffed.
