So on that basis, it seems that Denilson will be the special one.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Now Arsene Wenger has said that Nasri will not replace Song in January, he has also made it clear that Denilson will take his place, as he is a defensive midfielder, so does that mean we have been playing many of our earlier fixtures with two defensive midfielders or does that mean that we have been accommodating his favoured players in the team, and playing Denilson as an attacking one?

Either way, I think he is saying he won’t be adding to the squad, no wonder the board like his style. I personally think Denilson can fill the role, but I would prefer a player in that there that plays there week in week out.

Losing Robin, the boy wonder and shifting the team around shouln’t be too much of a problem, losing Song and playing Denilson shouldn’t be either, but we are then extremely thin on the ground, unless he starts to swap it around by bringing in Senderos or Eastmond.

Well either way, we’re are entering a period when we’ll find out, with Gibbs in trouble it looks like Traore will fill in, so we have the left sorted, we also have Silvestre available at left back so I expect him to play against Sunderland, but we are tight, perhaps we’ll see more of Ramsey and maybe even Jack Wilshere, but whatever he does I’ll be okay with as long as chief Marmitier Eboue, doesn’t find his way out on the right wing.

I also think it’s high time we reported Barca for the continuing harassment of Cesc, even their players are starting now, Cesc has been with us since he was 16, so they need to stop referring to him as a Barca player, he isn’t he’s an Arsenal one, word has it he’s forgotten how to speak Spanish anyway, and I don’t know how much longer the poor sod can keep telling them without Arsenal’s help, come on Ivan, grow some nuts and have a go at them.

I expect Cana to be up for this one, Sunderland are not a lot different to Wolves, if we want to win the league, we have to put teams like this to the sword.

Maybe Denilson with return a bigger stronger player, but after Ramsey’s antics against the Jocko’s I would like to see him afforded the same playing time that Wenger gives the Marmites, it can’t do him any harm can it? And you can see he has more talent than the combined might of the yeast based product players.

Somehow I expect to see Diaby playing up front at Sunderland, he does finish well when he gets the chance, so I’m not against it, and we do need some bulk in there, as for Rosicky and Nasri, I think they are both fit and I would be on cloud nine if they both start, throw Eduardo and Arshavin in the mix and we will have a potent team out there.

So my team guess for Saturday?

Almunia

Sagna Gallas Vermaelen Silvestre

Nasri Cesc Song

Eduardo Arshavin Diaby

This is the team I would like to see though.

Almunia

Sagna Gallas Vermaelen Silvestre (yes I said Silvestre)

Nasri Ramsey Cesc

Rosicky Arshavin Eduardo

It won’t happen though as it doesn’t include a beef flavoured, savoury paste type player.

I would take either though, have a great day Grovers, only 3 days to see if we can make it without Robin, because apart from a small team in Belgium, next up are the chavs, and then there will be no place to hide, unless of course fat Frank plays, and they can all stand behind him, no one will see them then!

It’s official. I just heard it on Sky from Gary Manubon and some bloke called Graham Stuart. Thierry Henry is a cheat. Sad and devastating news but he hand-balled the ball before crossing it to Gallas. Yes, he is a cheat. Graham Stuart never cheated once in his whole career. He never claimed a throw-in when he knew it should go the other way. He never dived or handled the ball illegally. With one single action Gary Manubon’s favorite team have been absolved of all previous accusations. Rooney never dived to end our unbeaten run, Ronaldo never ever went down when he wasn’t touched. Fletcher has never fouled anyone. No, it’s Henry the cheat whose breath also smells of garlic, who is the real culprit. Even the saintly Andy Townsend who also never, ever cheated has condemned Henry. And what about all the kids/ They will have seen that and will start cheating in the playground tomorrow morning bringing our country to the edge of a moral decline through cheating. I can’t wait to hear “Arry Redknapp tell us how much he used to admire Henry but that is all gone now he has cheated. While his own player Defoe stamps on another player and then breaks the Sunderland keeper’s arm “Arry will remain devastated at Henry’s descent into the Dark Side. Henry is quite simply the only footballer who has ever cheated and that makes me very, very sad.

  2. colonel mustard

nice googling Pedro…i would have scored them myself for barca in that team…his decline is there for all to see….he is not a shadow of the player he was…..you say henrys handball means nothing but it does in the modern game its like cheating is something to be admired. we all rightly condemned Eduardo on his swan dive and we all hate Eboues antics….Is Henry getting a free pass to f**k a small nation who totally outplayed them. Its a disgrace and I hate to see it. it ruins the game for me. Ireland got shafted and we all laugh but who to say England wont be on the receiving end of something like that…then nobody would be laughing.

  3. Pedro

I can’t really get to upset about cheating in the national team… I’m about to go against the grain this summer and support a right bunch of cheating cunts for 6 weeks… how could I possibly critique Thierry when I’m about to do that!

    Sorry, Im watching youreon Skysports…

Anyone remember Micheal Owen get slated for diving vs Argentina in 98??? Didnt think so…

    ————————————————————————-

There would never be furore if it was on the other foot, yes instinctive handball but its isnt cheating. They slowing it down on replay & trying to act like he had 10 years to think it should do it

  5. Lou

BBK. I only imagined it when I saw Keane throw himself to the ground on several ocassions. If he had been awarded a free-kick from which they scored he would have refused the goal. He is no cheat. Only Thierry Henry is. Keane is a saint.

  6. Pedro

He’s not a shadow? Meaning he is the player he was?

    I’m confused Colonel.

I know Thierry’s stats because people are always slagging him off… like he’s supposed to be getting faster at 31. Those stats speak for themselves… he is still a great player.

You got shafted today… by yourselves. You missed 3 sitters. Poor finishing lost you the game… Blaming Thierry might make you feel better, but you could have sewn it up before that.

England will no doubt be on the receiving end and probably the dishing out end… I don’t condone it, but it’s part of the game and thankfully doesn’t affect me tonight.

Don’t slate the great man though… he’s given more joy to your footballing life than the Irish football team ever has…

  7. Stu

Apparently Henry is the best player in the world. Not being sarcastic here but i saw a player rating thing. All to do with points and how influential a player is and Henry was top of the list.

He isnt the same player as when he was at his peak for us but he is still a more than decent player…even if he has lost most of his acceleration (which was to be expected).

  8. Lou

On a less frivolous note I must say that the French team under Domenech are awful and their CM players (Diarra x 2) were alarmingly bad.

  9. Lou

Thanks MG. It’s not that I condone the handball but the hypocrisy is staggering. Let he who is without fault etc.. How many acts of cheating would you estimate occur in the PL every week?

  10. ManGoonian

Henry handballed it, Keane dived and Given got away with a penalty…

Obviuously the more hyped and bitched about one, wins the biggest cheater contest… Coz its all gauged on a big clapometer innit…?

Every player cheats, obviously not all of them as high profile as henry, but this condemnation is deluded and misplaced. There has always been cheating in the game and always will be. Just because all the effin cameras pick it up NOW and the likes of SSN, pick and chooose who exactly to demonise and who to let off scot free, does not make henry, or Eduardo out to be the worst cheats in history.

Its a sick, joke, peddled by little inglunders and xenophobes and bad losers!

  11. colonel mustard

look it s like this, henry cheated, if you have affection for him because of what he for Arsenal then great. its colours you opinion. but acknowledge he blatantly cheated…..you say it doesn’nt affect you BUT it does! as off France go to the world cup based on gamesmanship…I hate it in the modern game…I hate it at Arsenal…

  12. Lou

CM. Yes, you are right. He did cheat. Did any Irish player cheat tonight or is it that the act was made worse because it made the goal. If so, are there acts of cheating which are more reprehensible than others and does this depend on when and where they occur? Or do you condemn all acts of cheating on the football field?

  13. ManGoonian

    colonel;

Look, if you are Irish, then I feel for you, honestly I do!

My beef is with ALL the hypocricy and double standards we will witness for days now.

And you can bet your ass, it will have an underlying element of xenophobia about it. Like only foreigners cheat, blah blah…

Considering all the grief Arsenal suffer from similar such shit, i thought you might see that too?

  14. ManGoonian

It is only an act of cheating if it is shown over and over from at least 15 different angles, in slow motion on Sky Sports News…

Unless the Seeker of Truth and Justice himself (The Holier then Thou Richard Keys) or one of his many Diss-iples (Gray, Collymore, Townsend, Durham, Hansen, etc) deems it so, it shall not be…

  15. didier

i m frech i hate it that we qualified, it was a disgrace a fucking disgrace.

All my apologies to the irish ppl, from me and all the true frnch supporters.

    i m ashamed tognit

William Gallas claimed he did not know that Thierry Henry handled the ball in the build-up to his vital goal against the Republic of Ireland.

Darren Bent says Arsene Wenger’s free-scoring stars are as exciting as the legendary team of Henry, Bergkamp and Pires.

The Sunderland striker, however, is convinced Steve Bruce’s men will give the Gunners a tough game at the Stadium of Light at the weekend, despite Wenger’s side racking up 55 goals in 19 games this season.

Arsenal have netted four or more on six occasions and are on course to score 100 in the Premier League season. Their league tally of 37 is seven better than than their nearest rivals, but amazingly they have yet to net in the first 15 minutes of any game.

It is not only the strikers who have got in on the fun, with 17 different players scoring this season, and Bent says the statistics make Arsenal one of the most exciting sides in Europe.

He said: “They are on top top form. The keep scoring four a game, which is unheard of.

“That is like the Arsenal of a few years back and the likes of Thierry Henry, Robert Pires, Freddy Ljungberg and Dennis Bergkamp. They were giving people beatings of four and five regularly.

“It is going to be a tough game against Arsenal. They were written off for the title at the start of the season but they have shown they mean business.”

Arsenal’s scoring record has catapulted Wenger’s men into surprise title contention, but they have major injury problems ahead of the visit to Sunderland which could severely hamper their free-scoring form. Nicholas Bentner and Robin Van Persie are out for weeks, and Eduardo da Silva is likely to start at the weekend fresh from scoring twice in Croatia’s 5-0 beating of Liechtenstein.

    ‘same old Arsenal, always cheating’

  20. zeus

The cunts on the UTD blogs going crazy over henry. here is a sample

‘Furious. Absolutely furious. This cheat knocks the Irish out. I’m hoping someone gives him a Zidane before they walk off. Furious!’

    ‘Henry cheat
    Anelka cheat
    Pires cheat
    Eduardo cheat
    Whats the link???
    That scum Wenger.
I hope the British media take on FIFA and try to kick those Frogs out’

‘the reason is bcoz we have a pro Arsenal anti Man Utd media who just bang on about Rooney or Ronaldo diving.
They all forget about Gerard and those hypocritacal comments he made in his book about diving. I hope he and TinyTears are both injured at the World Cup as i couldnt stand to watch them lift the world cup trophy’

That last one was the funniest…Pro-Arsenal media…..hehe

  21. Pat

All this bullshit over a qualifying game. Fuck the Irish oh well, not personally.(I meant the complaining).

No one wrote a single fucking word after Howard Webb robbed Poland of their first win in their first Uefa Euro tournament. I have no sympathy. No one had any towards Poland.

In other words, happens to everyone, get over it.

  22. AA23

Just to clarify, i could care less about who qualifies or how. I just love everyone getting on their high horses about it and blaming Wenger
    ITS FUCKING GREAT.

  23. Pat

Some Irish-United fan isn’t blaming Henry as he knows most players would do the same. He blames FIFA. Smart lad, unliek 80% of United fans

  24. Pat

I’d be happy if lampard and Drogba won’t play though!
Cashley and JT were never in doubt. They had minor injuries, nothing an injection can’t cure.

Wenger’s at fault for everything. Global warming, terrorism, the increase in crime rate…it all leads back to Wenger!!

  25. ManGoonian

The moment that every act of cheating is viewed and discussed in the exact same manner and given the exact same air time on SSN, BBC, radio and in the press, that is the moment we can ALL go on about how horrendous cheating in football is and start to look at ways of eradicating it….

Till then, excuse me while i piss myself over the pathetic hand wringing, bed wetting and general bullshit!

  26. ManGoonian

    Pat;

Yeah, I never doubted Terry or cashley wouldnt be fit for THIS weekend, never mind our game… But they called in sick for their countries, which apparantly is a treasonable offence…

  27. Pat

Despite the nature of the goal, Doyle continued by hinting that he would have acted no differently from Henry in the circumstances.

“It is just instinctive on his behalf, but it is that obvious that I’m sure he expected the free-kick straight away,” the Wolverhampton Wanderers forward stated.

“I don’t blame him as much as how it’s not seen to be honest.”

  28. ManGoonian

    Pat;

Most of the Irish players said they’d have done the same thing to get to the World Cup, even the likes of Houghton said as much…

Yet all we will get is rentaquote cloggers and never beens like cascarino slating and dishing out completely over the top criticism of one individual and then, at some point, infer that cheating is all down to foriegners!

  29. AA23

Pat saw your post on the republik of cuntia. why bother?
bunch of fucking racist hypocritical cunts on there, why give them the benefit of your wisdom, when you can just batter the pricks for being twats.
Nice post though, even though it was carved in shit.

  30. AA23

Get over to the republik of cuntonia, its fucking hilarious. Some good old fashioned racism and hypocrisy at its worst.
I might have a wank over this.

  31. Pat

“end of the day, rules are made to be broken, henry was kicked out of a champions league final and the ref was more guilty than the opponants because he allowed it, now henry has the shoe on his foot this time and the ref and linesman cannot say they missed it because it was goal mouth stuff unless their view was blocked, unlucky”

  32. Pat

I want to see what Wenger will say at his next press conference. If he sayd RVP has a chance to be fit for Chelsea, we need to sign that Serbian woman up!

  33. gnarleygeorge9

 People slagging TH14 off saying he’s not a shadow of the player he used to be. Thats what happens when people grow old in the sports world, like Ali, Pele, Robbie Keane, oh hang on he was never great :) , etc.

I’ve met, worked with, got sozzled with a lot of Irish & they are good types, but for Arsenal Irish people to all of a sudden slag off The Arsenal’s greatest ever coz he apparently hand balled, is un Arsenal IMO.

I feel for the likes of Liam Brady, but am happy for Billy G & our RB Bo Derek.

  34. AA23

    Dopey cunts.

  35. ReVELAtion

You’d have thought no one else had ever cheated with the furore over this. Pundits, players, ex players, managers etc having a go at the greatest player to have ever played in the premiership. As he’s an ex gooner and not ingerlish the daily rags will have a field day. It’s all gone a bit “pantomime of the cheats”. Next up Arsene Wenger and his encyclopedia of the dark arts.
The build up to the goal shouldn’t have been allowed and the call for video referees etc will continue to rage on and on. Ireland, however, can be proud of their performance tonight after losing 1-0 at home and their fantastic improvement under Trappatoni in general. Some might say that they should be going to the world cup but, alas, the harsh reality of it is that they are not.
Ireland and it’s anglo sympathizers (blood related or not) will feel as though they have been robbed tonight and, in the scheme of things, rightly so just like many before them and many here on after. Ireland were not winning the tie and penalties is often a lottery. Swings and roundabouts in football as in life. France for all their supposed quality under Domenech are woeful and will get their just desserts.

  36. ReVELAtion

I didn’t mean to encourage such a reaction using the lowest form of wit. I do apologize old chap.

Onto arsenal: What’s the word on Gibbs’ injury? That’s another huge blow for the player and club.. We’re certainly racking them up at the mo,, Maybe now i’ll get a chance to see Vela a bit more… On the bench at least hey :)

Arshavin 4 – If you hadn’t seen Arshavin playing wonderfully for Arsenal, you’d really be wondering why Hiddink has made him captain. The fact that the playmaker somehow managed to play worse in the second leg than the first really has this pundit scratching his head in disbelief.

Arsenal striker Eduardo has signed a new “long-term” contract at the Emirates Stadium.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Gunners from Dinamo Zagreb in 2007, has been rewarded for his form since recovering from a badly broken leg.

The Croatia international was sidelined for almost a year after suffering in the injury in February 2008. He has now scored 18 goals in 48 first-team appearances for Arsene Wenger’s team.

The Gunners have not revealed the exact length of the deal.

Wenger told the club’s official website: “We’re delighted that Eduardo has signed a new long-term contract with us. Eduardo is a special player with huge talent and natural goal scoring ability, and we’re all so happy that he has committed his future to Arsenal Football Club.

“We have also seen in his come back from injury, Eduardo is a human being full of courage, bravery and commitment. His full recovery from this injury is a testament to Eduardo’s character. We all look forward to enjoying Eduardo’s performances in an Arsenal shirt for a long time to come.”

Eduardo added: “I am very pleased to have signed a new long contract with the Club. I’m very happy and I hope to stay at Arsenal for as long as I can. This period is good for me now. I feel strong in my body and I feel ready to play 90 minutes every three days if it’s needed.

“I went to Croatia last week and everybody was telling me Arsenal play the best football in Europe at the moment. I agree with that. We feel we are strong now this season and we’re all going to give everything to win trophies.”

Dutch striker van Persie is hoping that Kovacevic can speed up his recovery from ruptured ankle ligaments with her bizarre treatment of injecting placenta fluid and then massaging it into the injury.

Van Persie, hoping to reduce what he hopes will be a six week lay-off, told a Serbian TV station: “The treatment is going well. I hope it will help.”

But the controversy surrounding Kovacevic’s methods are likely to intensify after it was claimed in Serbia that she uses HUMAN placenta fluid to treat patients rather than cow and horse fluid.

It is supposed to strengthen the damaged muscles and ligaments and help speed up recovery time and Johnson and Aurelio have both missed recent games for club and country with their respective calf problems.

Johnson missed England’s friendly with Brazil in Qatar and is desperate to get back to full fitness in World Cup year. Johnson and Aurelio both refused to talk to TV reporters when they arrived at Belgrade airport yesterday.

Players from Chelsea and Manchester City have also been to see Serbian housewife Kovacevic who runs her clinic from a basic surgery near Belgrade.

But Kovacevic has been able to convince big-name multi-million pound stars to Serbia for treatment after several members of the country’s national squad claimed her methods drastically reduced recovery time.

That Palmer never had a good word to say about Henry in all his time at Arsenal, but I suppose Thierry’s not going to lose any sleep over a two-bob cyber journalist who used to know people at Arsenal, fucking loser!

I actually sent the turd an email yesterday asking him what interest for Gooners would the headlines he constantly writes about England, Rooney et al on a website called Arsenal News Review, and why he just doesn’t post his articles on a website called Foitball News Revue?

Well surprise surprise, I’ve had no response.

I shan’t be reading his I’ll informed dross anymore.

  50. Micky Did It 89

DDM: Wow, what a heated evening. 1. TH now has nothing to do with Arsenal, therefore linking cheating with us is bollocks. 2. Your point about WW2. The Irish’s biggest wrong was against the Jews. Picture this. Some bloke and his army are storming around Europe putting up to 6 million people into gas chambers as a result of their faith. The Irish decide they will not take sides!!!

  51. dennisdamenace

Micky – they did take sides in a way, by trying to do a deal behind our backs with the Germans……

However, we may have to move on from this ‘debate’ as it could get quite nasty….

  52. gnarleygeorge9

Well its still stinking bloody hot here  & the beers are going down just nicely. How are you all going? Me? 3 points would be just nice this weekend.

  53. MARK GOONER

thierry henry thierry henry thierry henry

i wonder if rooney had done the same to ensure england qualifying for a world cup if the english media would be calling for his head

  54. gnarleygeorge9

So can someone, before I get myself another frothy, point out a footballer who has handled the ball, scored, put his National team into a World Cup, but as the ref runs back to the middle after allowing it, said no, no I handled to ball the goal should be disallowed ;)

  55. Geoff

I think it’s a case of let he who has never sinned cast the first stone, Jack Charlton recruiting all those English players for the Irish team was legal cheating was it not? Half of them never even knew they had an Irish connection.

  56. gooner-pak

    morning all
i dont get it why henry is all of sudden an arsenal player. yes he was a gunner but its past move on fucking moron media….

  57. gooner-pak

on lighter note though… messi might have thought him how to use hand..(remember messi using hand to score in last game of la liga when real lifted two ago)

  58. ikon

I will always believe that signing Chamakh at the start of the season would have provided good cover for any injuries.

If Wenger doesnt get Chamakh now, I think we will fall off the title challenge just as we did 2 years back.

  59. Lala Gunner

The Irish are scum! Other people have a nationality. The Irish, like the Jews have a psychosis…….fucking Irish Leprechauns…get a life! What are you on about you donkeys…..you want to start fighting again…well; the saying is that The Irishman is never at peace except when he is fighting.
