As Enos Stanley Kroenke is on the verge of the 30% I have to ask myself the question, why?
The current board have suggested for several years now that they do not need any outside investment for the club to grow yet with the approaching oligarch of Red and White the board all seem quite happy to stave off his approach by selling shares of to Stan.
Neither Stan nor the Russian love the club and the same can be said for PHW, PHW’s family loved the club and while PHW likes his seat at the head of the table his distaste of the clubs supporters (without whom the club would not exist) has been well documented.
Now Fiszman and Dein really loved the club they bought in the bad days and grew the club into what it is today so why have they both recently been selling shares in the club? In the same time sp*rs owner has pumped unsuccessful millions after unsuccessful millions trying to be like Arsenal without ever coming close. Our owners have not pumped in a penny while seeing the share price grow 25 times in the last 10 years (correct me if I am wrong Geoff), shares were at £400 then and now hover at above £10,000. It doesn’t make sense at all for them to have sold especially now that the apartments at Highbury Square have been taken off the market and the next phase (the big one) of development is about to start on which is the Queensland Road development check it out, it is about 10 times the size of the previous developments.
This is when it comes clear to me what the plan has been all along and I mentioned it a couple of times on Le-Grove and Gunnerblog (when Kroenke first took over).
As Geoff has mentioned many times he and all the other Arsenal Suporter/Shareholders hold the shares for the love of the club, they have never received dividends they just want their piece of Arse.
What has been going on the last few years in the battle to take over the club has nothing to do with what is going on the pitch, if it had we would have strengthened the Invincibles not torn them apart to finance what is the ultimate payday for the shareholders.
There are 3 major problems however, the problem
1. The shareholders don’t receive dividends so when it all pays out where does the money go?
Most would assume that it would go into the club, but that has not been the case the past five years and the greed of the board in true upper class fashion means that they don’t want to share the piddling percentages of wealth with the ordinary supporters which has led to the…
2. Boardroom Chaos, it all seemed to start with Dein didn’t it?
We might never get the true story (come on David release the autobiography), but David wanted to bring someone in who could help with the commercial side of the project, he was thrown out and his son took TH14 with them.
Once rebuffed Kroenke dumped him and on the rebound he brought in the fat oligarch from whogivesafuckistan, the guy’s office is full of United memorabilia, what were you doing Dein?
The club decide to let Kroenke on the board as the lesser of two evil’s and the battle for gobbling up shares commenced. I do not blame the small fans for selling up £10k for something that cost you a few hundred years back is a tidy return rarely seen and for most people it represents 25% of their annual income… …for a footballer it was yesterday’s cheque!
3. The main problem is what will Stan bring to us? Sustained success or sustained mediocrity?
Well first we have to look at how stan the man made his fortune, which is marrying one of the Heirs to the Walmart shopping fortune and securing the rights to build strip malls next to all the new Wallmarts.
Now he is trying to marry Arsenal to secure the rights to more tasty property development. Everyone likes to cite his great fondness for sports and the fact that his teams are always playoff teams and the Avalanche won the Stanley Cup (not named after him btw). His teams always seem to do enough to get to the lucrative playoffs in US sport (Champions League for us), but they rarely seem to be winners. That is what worries me, I think Stan wants to make us into a team that just makes money to service his debt.
Look at it this way he apparently still owes Fiszman cash for his shares and I am sure he hasn’t PIF for PHW’s either.
So what is going on?
I have felt for some time that the board is now using the Usmanov upheaval to force Kroenke to buy the club (with their assistance), which would mean buying out the rest of the small shareholders and Arsenal supporters groups who still have a say (albeit one which get’s rubbished at present). Once they own the club PHW, Fiszman and co. after developing the rest of the property are all in line for a big payday.
At least that explains what’s been happening at the club for the last few years.
The problem is during all this we have been impotent, short of one of us winning “el gordo” we really do not have much of a say at all.
It does make me quite sad to see so much greed taking away from the gloss of watching the most entertaining football this side of the Pyrenees.
The Americanization of Arsenal has already started, we come out to Elvis and tickets have been on general sale for the first time in years… the club no longer seem to want or care for the Arsenal fans of old and want to create a sterile atmosphere matching all US arenas above University level.
I almost got thrown out of a Tuesday night Champions League match because I made a “wanker” gesture towards the away fans. They were doing much of the same but as usual they can do whatever they like! The guy next to me was told off for taking pictures on his camera with a zoom lens… …it has all become a little ridiculous if you ask me.
I just want to go be allowed to stand and sing and enjoy some entertaining footie, the only place I can doo that is on the road …it is such a pity because with a little love from above we could have a great atmosphere.
Stan as far as Arsenal are concerned, you are not the answer for me, your Billion $ you are just not enough in this day and age, especially to buy a club with a first class team and stadia.
Peter Hill Wood your father would be turning in his grave right now for what you have allowed to have happened to the illustrious Arsenal.

Pedro’s morning round up will follow a little later.

Le Grove is now smart phone compatible!

Yes 1st??
2nd???
3rd?
4th???
5th??? RVP out injured!!!
6th???
7th??? Is our season over???
8th???
9th???? FUCK KRONKE!
10th??? YES.. YES.. YES FIRST TOP 10!!!1
Guys… I think our season is really in the SHIt now that RVP is injured. With both Bendtner and Walcott out as well.. we could really be in trouble.
hail all! RVP out! Eduardo gettin!
Morning Le Grove
I read somewhere the other day that Stan is buying the shares in attempt to keep The Big Russian out. This is because Arsene Wenger has made it clear to the board that if the Russian takes over with all his dodgy money, he will leave!
The board want AW to stay and that is why PHW sold his shares to Stan..
Forgot where I read all that now.
Have you seen the report that Rafa is going to offer £10M for Eduardo?
That rumor about Rafa and Eduardo is a joke! I think Liverpool will trade Babel for Eljero Elia (a better player in my opinon). I like Elia and hope we could make a bid. He is a direct player with good technique and finishing.
Hey rico….
couldnt see us selling eddie, even before rvp injury. If he is out til mid jan and with theo only returning to training next week, do we need to buy a striker in jan? bendtner shd be back by start of dec
Where did you hear that about Eddie?
i think we’ll get chamakh now
Well said Gunner8, I’ve wondered for a long long time what the motives were of the private members club we call our board and what the Yank actually brings to the Arsenal table……
ddm – eddie story is in the news of the screws today. but then the main story on their back page also suggests fabio is in fact homer simpson
RvP injured? Are you sure??
yeh chiellini fouled him last night – no x ray yet but holland coach says looks bad and reports out of holland suggest 2-3 months
Ahhh British ‘journalism’, just one step up from fucking Janet & John books, fucking talentless retards the lot of them….
Gunner8, top, top post mate, I couldn’t agree more. Selling their shares to Stan made as much sense as selling Diarra and losing Flamini in the same season.
Appalling business, what I can’t understand is why on earth Fizman and co didn’t buy the shares themselves, especially as they haven’t been paid for those they did sell.
I make you right about Dennis turning in his grave, I met him and he had class, his son is just a fat spoilt rich mans son who hasn’t got a clue.
Hi Dennis, the stuff about Dudu is in the paps this morning, same with RvP, he was crunched by Chielinni and suspected ligaments torn 2-3 months out
oops, sorry zee, just duplicated what you had already written
DDM some reports says RvP is out for the whole season..if this true, we’re fucked…FUCk the interlull, a useless friendly
Sunu was due to go on loan to Blackpool, as long as he signed a new contract, but maybe he will have to be drafted in, not sure if he is ready for that but he’s a big fella
Fucking wonderful, another player ducked courtesy of a meanigless fucking friendly, no doubt the pussies that run our club will offer compensation to the Dutch FA for THEIR inconvenience….
Gunner8 – Great post, really good read!! I think Geoff and Pedro need to up their game if they want to remain at the height of the Le-Grove bloggers admiration!! You’ve just raised the bar!!
No doubt Wenger will be rubbing his hands together in fevered anticipation of playing Eboue as our central striker now….
FUCK!!!!!! Only just seen the RvP news!!!!!
DDM – I’ll shoot eBay myself if he gets that high up the pitch!!
mornin rico -DDM ..
yes good post , several questions also need to be raised … like
why is the russian letting stan take over ?
WHY ?
what agreement must they of come up with ?!
is he pissed off ? or are they giving him some role and salary ? % ? blood money from the mob ?
and also is this ‘BUSINESS MODEL’ we’ve stuck too the last 5 years (which has got us no where !)
the type of model stan thinks is PROFITABLE ?
does he expect the same level of spending / profit margin year in and out ?
that will mean we continue with project youth and all only 2 year deals over 30 etc , no big name signings, good players moving on etc .. …
i would hope if we were to sell out we would do it to someone with ambition .
i also g8, dont think krankie is the answer .
i think he has been fooled into believing you can turn a profit on a shoes string budget .
and wants the club to operate in the same vain for him .. turning the same profit , for him ..
i think wengers selections have paid off , but we wont have wenger forever . and i still think the gambles he made were risky ..
time will tell but i , like you G8 would like to know a bit more about the board room antics !
We MUST, MUST, MUST get Walcott & Vela back to full fitness asap!!!! And Eduardo MUST, MUST, MUST play regular football!!
yes taig
how ya goin bloke ?
totally agree good post worth commenting on !
ethan – all those questions should be clearly answered too. Maybe when hell becomes a little frosty we’ll get them!! I just hope that the mixture of Stan off the field and Arsene on the field works wonders. After all, Wenger has said he would be off if Usmanov took over and seems happy with Stan’s flirting with becoming the Top Dog!!
Tony I think you meant Pedro!
If Robin is injured then Wenger needs to go out and spend some serious money, not on an unknown.
So we have Bendtner and Theo out, and they aren’t first choice, we have Eduardo who rarely seems fit, and we have Arshavin.
Apart from that we have Watt, Sunu and Simpson, now if Simpson isn’t brought back, sell him and buy a world class forward in the window, and one that doesn’t break.
Don’t forget we are already Ade down and not replaced, this will be the perfect excuse for winning fuck all again.
Don’t let it happen Arsene, spend now.
Sorry I forgot about Vela, but only because Wenger has as well.
Morning ethan, Geoff, taig
Theo and Vela are back in training this week, as is Denilson.
Vela has been on the sick list Geoff
so internstional football hits us again bad
Ramsey had a corker last night in a 3-0 win against the Scots, scored a wonder goal and set up the other two…
Hi Rico, I know he’s been injured but Wenger always seems reluctant to play him though.
RVP has been on fire and losing him is a massive blow, Bendtner just isn’t in his league, I feel we could be fucked now, time for Theo or Vela to show what they have now.
If we can get to the window, we have a chance.
Yeah Ramsey played a blinder last night!!
Geoff – Yeah I’m worried that we wont see Eduardo hit the form RvP was in and that the others have been held back for so long that they aren’t ready to fill in yet! They could have been. But they’re not.
Morning all..
Eddie will step up ..
Morning all!
Top post Gunner8!
I’m off out now, today’s post goes up at 10:00!
He has little choice now Geoff, and I never understand why Vela doesnt play, he is awesome – he gives bloomin Eboue and Diaby a long run, Vela with a run in the side would be on fire, pees me off too!
Gunner(. Excellent post. Very thought provoking-
I like Ethan’s question of *Why is Usamov allowing Kroenke to take over*? It hardly because he lacks the cash.
I disagree (respectfully) re: PHW. To berate him for being the son of a *gent* is unfair. The man has devoted his life to AFC. PHW may not be the sharpest pencil and certainly has made many gaffes, but he is one of the last real *Arsenal* men.
I love the fact that we are a club with history and tradition. PHW and his family are part of that.
We now have a modern structure to the management of the club. Full of American specialists. Arsenal is an International brand, hugely famous worldwide. We need to compete not with WHU or the Spuds, but with RM, Barca and Inter/AC.
How sad ….
G8
Nice work, @ 1st I thought Geoff had chimed in. But my most pressing angst is the RVP11 injury. I’m totally pissed off about it. All for nothing. Why play him
hi choy
The RvP injury is serious bad news.
AW must be absolutely furious. Why couldn’t he have pulled the Chav/MU card and stopped his players travelling
Rude of me……
Good morning fellow Gooners
I hope Dudu does step up, but I dont think he has the confidence right now – since his dive he seems different…
Walcott and Vela for me
Morning Raddy
Raddy PHW is a pompous stuffed shirt, he has absolute disdain for the fans and has leeched off Arsenal his whole lazy life.
Sorry mate, he’s everything I hate about old school Britain, he’s had his whole life put on a plate.
Dennis on the other hand was all Arsenal and would never have disrespected a fan. I know, I met him.
morning rico and BR…
Yes sorry, evening all,
rico,if the stuff about Eduardo being frustrated is true, well here is his chance to gain absolute gunner legend status. 2-3 months of a blitz might just get to result we all crave. CHAMPIONS!!!
Geoff, you have just described the MCC
No difference Gnarley, he is the fat bloke in Brideshead revisited that went round with a teddy bear, remember?
Le Gaffer has no option but to purchase in January. We want The Title.
Geoff I’m showing my age here, but yes i do
He also got offered the lead role in Nero, he turned it down and Hill-Wood took it in I Claudius!
Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk said after the match that Van Persie had torn ligaments in his right ankle, in a challenge involving Giorgio Chiellini, but the extent of the injury would not be determined until tests were carried out on the striker.
Van Persie will be sidelined for two months if the injury is confirmed, potentially derailing Arsenal’s Barclays Premier League challenge.
I hope the “if’ factor skews more to only minor damage
than oh no, he’s phucked for 2-3 months.
Hi george, agree, he has to back up his talk, if its true about what he says. cant believe the rumours that raf is going to offer £10M for him in january…
We have 8 EPL games before the window opens, I now fear for us, 6 of those are in December, plus the Carling Cup and the ECL.
All without Robin. Thank goodness we didn’t replace Ade in the summer, we know we never get injuries, inspired move Arsene.
Hey ethan, how you doing fella?
I wouldn’t mind betting he plays Diaby as the second striker….
David Dein is the red-hot favourite to be the new Football League supremo – in a move that will keep alive talk of a major top-level revolution.
The former Arsenal wheelerdealer is being tipped to succeed veteran Lord Mawhinney in a key appointment that will shape the game’s future.
Dein is highly-regarded as a politician and tops the wanted list as Football League headhunters begin their quest to find a new supremo.
The appointment of Dein – out in the cold since quitting the Gunners before becoming part of Alisher Usmanov’s bid for power at the Emirates – would make the Football L eague more dynamic, but could also be controversial.
Dein was one of the prime movers in the breakaway talks of the 80s and 90s when the Premier League was born.
Dein was among the leaders of the big clubs who forced the change that brought in TV millions and dragged the game kicking and screaming into a richer era.
The former Arsenal vicechairman made enemies among the old guard at the time. However, Dein is seen by some as a visionary and he would be more open to fresh ideas than most, including the push for a two-tier Premier League.
Ramsey won’t get a sustained role in the first eleven while Diaby continually starts for us….
No worries, Van Persie’s injury just gives wenger the perfect ready made excuse for when his team fail to win anything again for about the 6th successive season,
but of course, next year will definitely be the year…
That is what just doesnt make sense dennis, on the international scene Ramsey is trusted and plays well – yet we play Eboue or Diaby… grrrr
Thanks for that woody, close the door behind you on you way out….
That is totally correct rico, however apart from fleeting glimpses of uber talent swiftly followed by abject naffness tell me what Diaby brings to the starting lineup?? Fuck all imo, but Wenger continually picks him, why??? So that when he had his one good game in twenty he can say ‘see he is a great player’ or to use the AFC first team as a shop window to get £4m for a clown player…….brilliant Arsene, you keep it up son and get your annual pat on the back from PHW & Co….
Nothing dennis, he brings nothing! Oh, I forget, he brings height to the team, he makes sure he out jumps everyone to score into his own net!!
dennis, the bit that doesnt make sense is that Diaby plays – my comment is a bit misleading…. (
Ramsey over Diaby any day of the week
I see woody’s point abit, we are 2nd with a game in hand. The real problem is this phuck’n RVP injury
I few misconceptions in that piece. The share price in the last 5 traded transactions has been between £8500 and £8600 not £10,000. It’s no coincidence that bigger investors have bought into the club since the stadium has been completed and it now generates the 5th largest revenue in the world game. Only two of those larger generates more profit. Of those clubs Arsenal has perhaps the greatest potential to increase their commercial revenue. Fiszman, Dein, Hill-Wood et al are getting old so shareholder succession is going to happen anyway. The club hasn’t paid dividends for a long time. One of the reasons that the share price has grown substantially is because the owners have invested so heavily and all the money generated so far has gone back into the club. All the shareholders have benefited from this growth even the small ones. Eventually it will start paying dividends – probably once the Queensland Road development has been finished. That’s why Kroenke, Usmanov and some others have bought in. It’s a sound investment that they will get a return on – but in order to maintain that return the club needs to be succesfull on the pitch. The advantage of being a big succesfull business is that you can try to do just that.
rico – I know babe….
RvP injured, 3 months out just for a useless friendly game.
great, another frustrating season. fuck friendlies, fuck international football, fuck injries and FUCK chiellini
just watched rvp incident on youtube, not even a foul.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haoGpaWMaww
for fuck’s sake……
Thanks all for the comments
Amos, I know the recent shares went for less but they were between exhisting board members… …the fatman was buying his from around the 10k mark
DDM
goin well son !
just as well we didnt get that striker i was bangin on about all off season ..
and every twat south of the north pole telling me we dont need any more strike options
Gunner8> The shares that traded last week on the AIM exchange weren’t those between board members they were the price paid on the market at £8500 to £8600. That’s the current going rate. Usmanov did buy quite a lot of shares at £10k+ but not all of them. Kroenke paid a similar price around £10k earlier this year when buying some of the Carr family shares. Usmanov has got to the point where paying over the top for shares doesn’t give him any more power than he has and he can’t get enough shares to usurp Kroenke. Between them Kroenke and Fiszman control more than 46% of the shares. Almost certainly they have enough ‘friends’ to take them over 50% so they control the club between them whatever else happens. Kroenke will probably wait a while, sometime next summer onwards, and then pick up enough other shares and eventually the rest of Fiszmans holding to take his personal stake above 50%. It’s Kroenke’s business already. Usmanov is snookered.
Sure Amos, you are right about the share price, my comment was about not being upset at gooners selling their shares for 10k, as it was a lot of money is all!
Still upset and impotent about the whole thing
