Will we move for Numbchuks now Bendtners is out, or will Watt step up?

Interesting thought, Bendtner is out for at least 2 months, by the time you add the Theo factor, then maybe even 3. The Theo factor is you get injured and are out for a month, then you take another month getting fit before your come back, at which you get injured again, stopping along the way to buy your girlfriend a brand new Ferrari.

Don’t have a cow, I’m not suggesting Nikki B will buy his girlfriend a brand new Ferrari, what I’m saying is they always seem to take twice as long to come back from an injury, so maybe it’s time we made a premptive strike and worried about having too many players, when we have too many players.

I also love Theo, I really do, but he does seem to spend a large part of the season in the treatment room, perhaps it’s the treatment room that’s the problem, perhaps it’s the training, either way it happens more to us than anyone, and we can’t keep putting it down to co-incidence.

The YaYa rumour has started up again but it’s all bollocks, we will never sign someone that turned us down, he wants to play with his brother and the 300 midfielders at shitty and we need another African like we need a hole in the head.

Now before you African’s spit your cornflakes out, hear me out, we have nothing but admiration for Africans, many of you on this site are indeed from the big continent, however the ACN is on every 2 years and that is ridiculous, we need cover for Song because he is going there to play in it, so why on earth would we sign his replacement if he too were going, we wouldn’t, so that’s it, it’s all bollocks.

The squad replacement for Eboue is sorted but the squad replacement’s for Song are a little too young, that’s if it were Eastmond or Coquelin, Diaby is no good in that position so that only leaves Djourou or Senderos, …get the chequebook out Arsene!

So I think we should get two in, in the window, both as cover, I would look at Matuidi and Chamakh, the run in will be tough, and yes I know there will be a bit of cup-tied-ness in there, but they wouldn’t cost much and we could always have a clear out in the summer.

Let’s hope Liverpool get pilloried like we did for a dive that was shameful, let’s see Platini say something, yes I know it’s the FA’s job, but they never act, unless of course it’s us in the dock.

The other option up top is Watt, but like Coquelin and Eastmond, I think he’s too young, but I do like him,  another thought is to bring back Homer J Simpson, but I just get the feeling Wenger doesn’t have him in his plans.

Have fun today Grovers, only ten more to go until we overcome that fat manc loving ingrate from the stadium of shite. I mean when did rednose ever supply him with half his squad?

    Boom Boom Boom …….

YOU are Late , becos the only arsenal thing happening today,is a New Post on Le-grove ;)

  2. Rich from the North Bank says:

    Braaaaaaappa

  3. Aussie Az says:

    top 5

  4. Pedro says:

DDM, I was saying similar things last night… having a Wenger orgy at this stage in the season is a bit too soon, we haven’t even got the new year out the way yet!

Mind you, it happened last year as well… a lot earlier mind…!

  5. Aussie Az says:

I think this year pedro we are lookin a lot better

  6. bnsb says:

Pilloried. I did not even see a mention. Probably He earned himself a well deserved penalty.

  7. Aussie Az says:

Bu the list of injuries over last three seasons is something true to be held, do you think there a problem with backroom staff?

  8. LAzer says:

    ello me mateys!

  9. Rich from the North Bank says:

Good post, I’ve high hopes for both Ramsey and Eastmond, but there’s no way we can expect them to play ever game once Song is in Africa…..
Cheque book please Mr. Wenger : )

  10. Aussie Az says:

i agree with u rich i cant wait to see eastmond in the first team squad

  11. Good Post Geoff,

Oh it is so hard to be blogger at these times.

But my guess is we wont buy anyone..because we have Nasri back, with Denilson as Backup

and with Nasri back, wenger will play him in place of Song, as wenger hinted earlier..that he sees Nasri in Defensive role too…and we have Denilson,Diaby, ramsey
to fight out for backup of Nasri

  12. LAzer says:

Good post…agreed with it all. We should add a couple, if the squad is too big and we have two shiny new trophies I think the whole team will be able to live with that. Make it tougher for the young’uns coming up to get a spot, they all get a chance eventually anyways with the constant injury roll.

And you know we’ll sell a couple every year anyways, why not sell 3-4 of the rot in the summer instead of 1 or 2 big names. Am taking no names..

  13. Mark C says:

Geoff – I hate to be a told you so, but Chamkah is Moroccan, so he will play in the ACN – therefore it is not worth getting him plus he cant play in the CL, as he has played for Bordeaux.

Personally a new keeper, and a big lump either a CB or CM.

  14. LAzer says:

Nasri in the DM spot is a waste and pointless with 3 in mid. I think that whole saga was linked to when we were playing two in mid and someone had to partner Cesc. Nasri didn’t want to lose his spot and wanted to play in the middle instead of the flanks. With 3 in mid it makes no sense because a DM in 4-3-3 sits back a lot more the a DM in 4-4-2 and Nasri is a waste and cannot really play there.

So for me Nasri as DM in current system is a non-debate.

    Myth busted.

  15. if we have to sell at end of season, who to sell from first team…other than Silvestre

  16. Aussie Az says:

sabeel i dont know bout u but with nasri technical ability rather seem him further forward

  17. Geoff says:

Mark I didn’t think they got through? And I did say cup-tied-ness!

  18. dennisdamenace says:

Pedro – some of these people play the negativity card and ‘shout’ other Grovers down because they refuse any critism of AW and misinterpret what other Grovers see as a more realistic view, rather than the rose-tinted glasses view of everything Arsene….

  19. Lazer….

this is not my personal view to play nasri there…but i reckon realistically that is what wenger would do…
wenger only hints, never clearly says what he thinks…
    ….

The chances of Wenger NOT buying is More than him buying, he never bought last year when we lost so many midfielders, thereby destroying our last whole of last season…so,what gives everyone the room of optimism, that wenger will buy someone that too,to fill for 2 months….

  20. Mark C says:

Geoff- you could be right, I dont follow African football.

It will be interesting to see how Eastmond progresses under Wenger – will he go out on loan or stick with the first squad.

There is also Ramsey who could play DM.

  21. Aussie, pls read my last post as ur response to u too

  22. LAzer says:

Coquelin, Eastmond, Song, Denilson are the only ones I see in the current squad capable of the DM role in this system.

Eastmond is far too underdeveloped and definitely not ready for first 11

Coquelin would be a reach but is getting close. Still think he needs another 6 months to a year before close to first team. He doesn’t even make it on the subs bench right now.

Denilson will be the answer if Wenger chooses not to spend (most likely) and that’s basically that. Leaves us mighty short but I think Wenger will have a serious think in Dec depending on his form and fitness.

Remember January is always a tough window to buy in and it takes valuable time to settle in. Matuidi is really the best option if we must buy it seems.

  23. dennisdamenace says:

Franchise, you out there Mo’ Fungla?

  24. Geoff says:

I thought about Ramsey and Denilson but Wenger sees both of them as non defensive so I don’t want to see square pegs again, just get in a real one and be done with it.

  25. finestcuts says:

Wenger has already said he won’t buy Chamakh, Eduardo is playing brilliantly as we all expected, even when Bendtner returns it will be difficult for him to get a place back.
I don’t think Wenger will buy any first team players in the window. If he did it would be against expectations, with Denilson, Diaby and Ramsey vying for a place in the middle, it’s far more likely he’ll stick to the youth contingent as he has done for the past few years.

  26. Pedro says:

DDM, the see no evil, hear no evil card doesn’t work with me… you’re not being true to yourself if you work like that.

I think Sharkey sometimes goes that way to counteract the opposite end of the spectrum… someone like, say, BBK… he will always back his points, and that’s all we ask.

I’m not a fan of commenting on people’s mindset, it’s all about counteracting an opinion you don’t like, with a decent argument back.

I’m pleased with the season so far, we’ve been very professional in despatching with the lesser teams… In the next few weeks, we have to make sure we can convert that form into beating the big boys.

People were saying the other day that they thought Song was close to being world class, I mean seriously, after 10 games of good form, are people really willing to put their necks on the line with statements like that!

  27. Pedro says:

Geoff, when did he say Denilson wasn’t defensive?

I thought he was Song cover?

  28. dennisdamenace says:

Denilson!!??!! No thank you! Is it any coincidence that he’s out injured and we’re playing so well…….I think not.

The best thing we could do is offload him in January and move Merida, Ramsey et al up the pecking order….

  29. Aussie Az says:

good point on song pedro, but people saying that will give the kid more drive desire to get better

  30. LAzer says:

I didn’t think it was your view Sabeel, I just think everyone is misrepresenting when that interview took place and what was happening at the time.

We were struggling in mid cause Song and Denilson were having regular ‘mares, Nasri wanted to play in mid, and Wenger actually tried him there to no avail. I clearly remember a game or two he played there and it was NOT the answer.

I don’t think Wenger will go back to that, Nasri is far too effective further up the pitch. In fact I think his best position is AM not even CM, he is after all the next Zidane. :-)

  31. Geoff says:

Hey Jason, do Denilson’s stats include passes that go backwards and passes that go to players with three on them at 90mph and then they lose it? No they don’t, so don’t talk tosh.

  32. LAzer says:

No way Denilson gets offloaded ddm, he will be plugged right back into the starting 11 and I will be enjoying every single one of your hair pulling comments on here.

  33. lazer….my basic point is..related to transfers…”realistically”,dont think wenger would buy

  34. Geoff says:

Pedro, if that were true he wouldn’t play them both in the same team.

  35. Edmond Dantes says:

I would like to see Lassana Diarra back at Arsenal but it seems highly unlikely. He may cost too much, given what Real paid for him when they signed him from Pompey. I think he will be ideal DM cover for Song when he goes to the ACN. With him there will be real competition at Arsenal for the DM position. Because at the moment, only Song is effective there.

  36. Pedro says:

Jason, Wenger was going to buy him two months ago… what’s changed? Well, bar more injuries…

Oh, Denilson doesn’t have the best opta stats in the league either… you need to check that one.

  37. Geoff says:

Edmund welcome, you are now free to blog.

  38. LAzer says:

Come on people can we please stop now with the Diaby in DM role. Wenger has cleary stated that is not his position. Ramsey I can give you, that’s why Wenger was having a look vs. Mick and the Wolves. I’d say it was an unsuccessful attempt. Ramsey is a box to box sort, he is not enough of a tackler or physical presence to play pure DM and that is what we need with current system.

  39. Pedro says:

Geoff, I don’t think playing them in the same team means that he doesn’t see Denilson as cover…

  40. LAzer says:

You’re out of jail again Dantes?? For having Lass back we should ship u off to the island again.

  41. Big Dave says:

Can’t see wenger buying in the window even tho we need cover in defence.

He allways says it “would kill” other players if he adds to the squad.

Cityyyy will be up shit streek sooner or later if they keep adding to their squad, in the end it will fuck off players and they will have bad dressing room, Kompany can not get into the team.

  42. Aussie Az says:

i think ramsey wants to go forward to much to play as dm i think we need buy cb and keeper b4 a dm

  43. Dan Thomas Bendtner says:

The international week beginnings. What a load of cow dung! Good post with some good thoughts, definitely need DM cover

  44. Geoff says:

Pedro, so why play two defensive midfielders in the same team, crap idea that is.

LAzer, was he in the bin then?

  45. Edmond Dantes says:

You may now call me the Count of Monte Cristo. Who do you think will play in DM in Jan

  46. Pedro says:

Lazer, why would Arsene talk about Paddy in the Viera role if he didn’t feel he was capable? He also said Diaby would have started ahead of Flamini in that role a few years ago, before he picked up an injury…

As for you tough tackling talk, I think you are wrong. The point of the new system is that everyone mucks in… that’s why it is working. Song barely makes more tackles than anyone else and when Diaby is playing… he usually makes the most.

  47. Pedro says:

Geoff, why play a right back in the front three… he makes strange decisions a lot…

  48. Gunnersmith says:

    :-)

  49. LAzer says:

If I were to speak my two-pence worth of sooth, when Song Billong is gone I think we start to see:

combinations of Denilson, Nasri, Cesc, Diaby, Ramsey with Denilson, Cesc, Nasri as regulars and Diaby and Ramsey rotated in depending on opponent, injuries, rest etc..

  50. Mayank says:

I think speculating on who we’d like as cover for Song is just that, speculation. I don’t think Wenger will buy a superior replacement for Song given his run and do we want someone inferior(i mean that in the best way) to Song in the DM position with the added liability of fitting into the squad.
Denilson seems the logical solution but Wenger could throw a googly and play Sendy/Coq/Eastmond.

  51. Big Raddy says:

    Morning Gents

Firstly, I would like to thank all the LG’ers for their kind wishes last week. Much appreciated and good to know that warm sentiments abound among the Gooner society.

DM ? No way will we sign one in Jan. We didn’t prior to the improvement of Song, so why will AW now? He firmly believes that Denilson is the answer and perhaps he is. We have to hope that The Crab (Denilson) will come back soon and regain match fitness

  52. Mayank says:

Pedro i don’t think Diaby can be a DM in our current system which required a Makelele type sitter. In a 4-4-2 he could be the CM along with Cesc, a box to box type.

  53. Edmond Dantes says:

This is an old story. But what if we get Vieira on loan for Jan. Does anybody think thats a good idea.

  54. Mayank says:

    BTW congrats Big Raddy!

  55. iceman says:

    Matuidi could happen in Jan.
Chamakh…I’m not too sure…too much has been said…
But then again…stranger things have happened.
By the way…Do we still love and want Cana? :)

  56. LAzer says:

Yeah and he also said he is attracted to the goal like a magnet and curbing his natural instincts is a problem. So Wenger contracdicted himself, nothing new in that. Besides the Flamini talk was ages ago, I really don’t think Wenger sees Diaby as a DM. And to add to that Viera was never a pure DM either, he was the box to box.

Its not a matter of tackling Pedro, its a matter of one naturally instinctive defensive player providing a shield for the two CBs and Diaby barely ever does that. Diaby is not a DM and imo I don’t think Wenger sees him like that either.

  57. Big Raddy says:

    Thanks Mayank

  58. iceman says:

…Or PV4…that completely slipped out Edmond!
    That’s a real possibility.

  59. charybdis1966 says:

Morning all, I would also like to see a ready-made DM replacement drafted in t cover for Song’s absence although I fear Wenger will not buy anyone. When Denilson returns from injury we’ll get the dreaded “he’s like a new signing” line. Arrrggghhhh. I also don’t see Denilson as a DM – he lacks the presence and steel to do that – he’s only ever a slightly poorer version of Cesc, to be played against lower grade opposition or in the Fizzy Cup.
For me another CB is a must – this Subotic-Robotic guy sounds good as we are always only one injury away from seeing the nightmare scenario of Fish-head playing.

  60. welcome back Big Raddy…

    U finished ur Honeymoon so soon… ;)

i am of the same view on transfers, which will “realistically” NOT happen

  61. Edmond Dantes says:

I think Diaby is far too attack-minded to play as DM. If he starts passing the ball more simply (short passes and not slow down the tempo) it will do the team more good. Then he can focus on defensive duties.

  62. LAzer says:

Thank you Mayank, my point is similar on Diaby. In this system, with three in mid and the fullbacks bombing forward there HAS to be a shield sitting back covering the back two. No way can Diaby do that.

  63. Geoff says:

Mayank, that’s why I write a blog, because I like speculating, otherwise I would say, trust in Arsene, who cares about winning and who do I send this years cheque to.

I don’t. So I do, hope that helps.

  64. chozzer says:

Song and Denilson were played together because we’d lost 5 in the first 14 games. That was why we stopped conceding but unfortunately, also stopped scoring.

I don’t think Wenger would play Song and Denilson in a 4-3-3, but as you say, Eboue up front……..

  65. Pedro says:

Sorry, I’m not sure I agree with you there. I appreciate Song is there to break up play, but our success is more down to the whole team defending as a unit. How you can say tackles don’t matter, two seconds after you pointed out we need a tough tackler is beyond me…

We attack as a unit and defend as a unit… Song is massively different from Makelele because he actually has a range of passing so is more than capable of being involved in the attack.

  66. Big Raddy says:

    Chary. I respectfully disagree.

    1. Denilson is a Flamini work in progress. He loves a tackle.

    2. Swiss Phil is the natural CB understudy and I like the big lump. Plus Fish face showed in the CC that he still has something to offer. I thought he was superb vs Liverpool. Plus JD should be back in a couple of months, and he is a fine player.

  67. LAzer says:

Valid point that Chozzer. Btw that celebration video you posted was awesome!!

  68. Pedro says:

I was also going to point that out Geoff… the whole point of a blog is that we can speculate until the cows come home… there wouldn’t be much point in a blog if we didn’t… we’d be a news site with no comments otherwise.

  69. namibian gooner says:

it’s funny how we always talk about the same thing everyday. morning all

  70. Edmond Dantes says:

Why do people of Le Grove have trouble in trusting in Wenger? I noticed your AKB section. There is no team as entertaining as Arsenal. Chelsea and Manure are boring. Barca are entertaining but player with a slower tempo than AFC. So overall, I would say, Arsenal is best value for entertainment.

  71. Big Raddy says:

I agree Pedro re defending as a unit. Even AA gets a tackle in

  72. Mayank says:

    Cheers LAzer!
I read some of the comments regarding Wenger and how it’s too early to be praising or celebrating Wenger. I think it’s a bit weak, we praise players like RvP and Cesc for their form why not Wenger. I thinks it’s being bit to pre-emptive of a collapse. We’re on something of a roll and if you don’t enjoy it now then if it falls to pieces then you have nothing to take from the season but more of the same.

  73. Pedro says:

Oh, congrats on the marriage Raddy!

  74. Big Raddy says:

If people haven’t seen the Clough interview posted late last night by Santino, take a look. It is great.

  75. Pedro says:

Mayank, there’s enjoying it… then there is crowing like we’ve won something…

  76. Edmond Dantes says:

I only get anxious in games when we defend set-plays. But looking at stats, the highest proportion of goals in the EPL is from dead ball situations.

  77. Mayank says:

Geoff i was only pointing out that it’s not probable. There’s nothing wrong with speculating I do it all day!

  78. LAzer says:

Agree to disagree then it is. Diaby is not a DM. According to Wenger himself we play a 4-1-4-1. That 1 is a DM and Diaby is not. Twisting my words to suit the debate is a bit unfair.

my quote was concerning Ramsey anyways…

“Ramsey is a box to box sort, he is not enough of a tackler or physical presence to play pure DM and that is what we need with current system.”

  79. Arsenal Tom says:

morning all, good stuff again mate!

i think song slows down opposition attacks and pushes them wide rather than being the ‘tough tackling’ type people think of, he presses pretty high up the pitch meaning everyone else can get back and help allot quicker

  80. Big Raddy says:

    Lazer/Chozzer Link to video?

  81. Nick says:

Morning all DDM where you been fella, not that ive missed your jokes or anything pedros are better anyways ;)

Congrats big raddy, hope all went well

  82. LAzer says:

and agree on your point about the team defense strategy but that does not detract from the tactical aspect of having one defensive minded sort in midfield who more often then not sits back to cover back two.

  83. Mayank says:

It’s funny isn’t it a 4-1-4-1 is normally seen as a defensive formation or at least a restrictive one, but with us it’s more of an attacking formation than a 4-2-4.

  84. LAzer says:

Raddy didn’t you have a baby boy?? and you got married a day after that? Whats going on here, what’s the story then? Are you in Bangkok?

  85. Geoff says:

Ok Mayank, a miss-read from me then!

  86. dennisdamenace says:

Chary – I see Denilson as a nothing player, who will slow down our quick moving attacking style with sideways pass after sideways pass, fuck I’d rather have Diaby in the team than that one dimensional nothing player….

  87. LAzer says:

thats cuz our 4 consist of Arshavin, Cesc, Rosicky, Nasri etc..am wetting my pants now..

  88. Rhyle says:

namibiangooner – I think we talk about this point a lot because it’s pertinent. You ask most gooners what they’re thinking about the side at the moment and they’ll pinpoint two or three areas of concern – the keeper, defensive cover and defensive midfielder.

With the ACN fast approaching and Song, our only real option (which is a frightening thought) in that position out for a month, thoughts are bound to turn to what happens next.

For me, Nasri can play the complementary role to a DM – the Denilson role if you will – linking the play from the defence / DM to the front 3, sitting alongside Cesc. He’s not a solution to the DM problem.

As Geoff mentioned in his post our options are limited and the players available are young. I honestly believe it’s time to own up to Song’s deficiencies and go and buy an ESTABLISHED defensive midfielder. The question is though – who is available and who would move in a world cup year? The biggest issue is what quality DM hasn’t already played in Europe this year?

As for up front and the Bendtner situation there are several options. First (and my preferred option) is move Arshavin to the right and have Eduardo (or Vela) on the left. Second is to directly replace Bendy with Wilshere. The boy needs to get his break some time and after the Chelsea game with some fairly middle of the road games – an excellent time to blood him properly.

  89. charybdis1966 says:

I see where you coming from Radders (BTW all the best for your recent betrothal) but I’m wary of the threat to our goal Wenger identified 2-3 years ago “the long, high ball over the middle” which a big, powerful DM can cut out.
Denilson’s strength is retaining possession in the middle of the park and passing on the ball to the more attacking/creative players. I don’t seeing him as someone winning the aerial battles in midfield but we shall see when January comes.
I didn’t see much of the dippers game so I don’t know how Phillipe is doing nowadays.
Has Fish head really improved that much though ?

  90. Pedro says:

LAzer, the only reason I disagree is because I don’t think he is a defensive minded player naturally.

Lee Dixon pointed out on numerous occasions last year that the reason we suffered was because no one in our midfield had an instinct to defend.

6 months later, you’re telling me Song is defensive minded and that Rambo and Diaby can’t be… you can learn is my point…

  91. namibian gooner says:

i think denilson is more suited for the diaby role. where we heed someone who can attack and help in defense. since he is cesc and is no makelele, i think he has a good mixture of both these players to be able to play in that diaby role. don’t you guys think essien would be great in that diaby role? he is after all a box to box midfielder.

  92. dennisdamenace says:

Namibian – what would you like to talk about instead?? I’ve got this terrible, itchy rash on the inside of my right thigh, please feel free to discuss ;)

  93. Geoff says:

    Raddy what have I missed?

  94. Bring in Scott Parker and Carlton Cole from West Ham
maybe do a swap with some of our surplus players

  95. LadyGooner says:

I think Senderos will play DM when Song is away. Denilson is too lightweight to play DM in a 4-3-3 system. For me Big Phil makes sense: He’s more or less as pacy/paceless as Song, good tackler and defensively disciplined. I think he’d work well with TV ie. both left footed and would slot in the back 4 seamlessly if Vermaelen goes on one of his mazy runs

  96. Arsenalrule says:

I know it’s highly unlikely that Wenger would buy an English player from an English club, but what about Noble/Parker from west ham, Gary Cahill of Notlob, even possible to get one of city’s DM’s? As someone above said Kompany can’t get in the team, would he be wanting to move?
I think we seem to be getting caught always saying the same names, when Wenger sometimes likes to surprise us.

Btw I’m not saying these will happen, just a suggestion of other good option from around the world.
(wouldn’t mind buying a Belgian type player for DM)

  97. Mayank says:

I’m dying to see those four together. I hope it’s against Chelsea, we’ll bury them!
The best thing about the 4 is that all 4 can play in any of the four slots, some of the link up play can be mouth-watering.

  98. Edmond Dantes says:

All hail the Lord Wenger. I reckon hes the best manager around. Anybody disagrees

  99. dennisdamenace says:

Nick you Bakrichod, how dare you? Pedro is a joke Bindipper par excellance!!

  100. Edmond Dantes says:

I met Wenger in the summer and we spoke a bit about football. He took some time to expound his philosophy of football to me.

  101. Geoff says:

Edmond, I now know why you got banned, for trash talking.

  102. Mayank says:

    Oh my…

  103. Karan says:

we can play Verminator in the middle in place of song and give chance to senderos at CB…..

And off course verminator can cover him as well…..

    Just another option i guess…

  104. Nick says:

DDM morning to you too :)

  105. Big Raddy says:

Geoff. It seems a case of Chinese Whispers !!

I got hitched , that’s all. Not become a Bangkok ladyboy (not that I haven’t thought of it ….. hey, it’s a living) , not fathered anyone new, not moved out of CPH. Just agreed to share my worldly goods and make an honest woman of my beloved.

  106. Edmond Dantes says:

This is the first time I’ve posted on this site, Geoff. Anyway, why would I lie.

  107. Big Raddy says:

As you say Mayank ….. Oh My…..

I can see a yellow or Red in the offing :-)

  108. LAzer says:

On noo…this is going to get ugly real fast on here..

  109. dennisdamenace says:

    Dantes – Alex Ferguson

  110. LAzer says:

ah..clarity then. Congrats on the engagement then Raddy. :-)

  111. Still question remains

Any people from Africa,or whomsover knows, explain why ACN is played evry 2 years???

  112. choy says:

    Morning all!

We need a DM who is a sitter, and diaby and ramsey are not the answer.. we were getting battered by wolves until song came on!

The other teams will rape us!

  113. dennisdamenace says:

Ugly!! Who mentioned ugly?? Is one of Pedro’s birds on here today!!?

  114. Nick says:

LAzer big raddy took it too the next level mate

  115. Geoff says:

That’s a relief Raddy, well congratulations my friend and all the best!

Edmund, we don’t pay homage or kiss arses on here, we are Arsenal fans, whoever the manager.

  116. Nick says:

DDM :) shouldn’t fucking be in the mix then??

  117. dennisdamenace says:

Sabeel – it’s what it’s always about fella, money!

  118. Rhyle says:

Sabeel – I’m not from Africa but I think I can answer your question.

    MONEY.

  119. Arsenal Tom says:

sabeel… because there are tournaments for everyone else every 2 years i think mate….

europe has the euro’s and america & south america have got the copa america

  120. the zambian gooner says:

i really wish wenger could see the talents of jay simpson he really is a goal machine.Wenger must realise this young mans talent before he gets frustrated and decides to leave. Its no good having all these talented youngters when they will not end playing for us in the long run.

  121. choy says:

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has paid tribute to Denmark’s new Player of the Year, Nicklas Bendtner.

Ferguson attended this week’s Danish football awards night in Copenhagen.

Sir Alex saluted Arsenal striker Bendtner, who won Denmark’s Player of the Year and Goal of the Year awards.

Ferguson said: “Nicklas Bendtner is part of the Arsenal team and has proven himself at highest level. It’s no surprise to me that he runs away with the prize.”

  122. dennisdamenace says:

Explain yourself Mr Nick? I am confused of Croydon!!

  123. Edmond Dantes says:

dennis. Wenger is better than Alex. Wenger maximizes the little resources he has at his disposal to make AFC compete with the best teams in Europe. Its only this season that Utd has not spent big in the transfer window. If all managers had the same amount to spend, no doubt Wenger would come out on top.

  124. Nick says:

…..and promptly lost it before he could get it on the mantel piece ;)

  125. dennisdamenace says:

    Up Your Viva!

  126. Nick says:

as in “fucking ugly” mr ddm

  127. choy says:

    marchod

  128. Mayank says:

Basically Edmund you can say Henry is god/the greatest DB10 is god/the greatest even Arsh or Cesc but Wenger’s a no-no.
Geoff that may have sounded like a snide comment but i assure you it wasn’t :)

  129. Rhyle says:

‘no doubt’ Edmond? Pure conjecture…with nothing to back it up.

Red nose has won 11 premiership titles – ELEVEN – and countless other trophies. Once or twice you could put down to money (like Chelsea) but 11? I had the red nosed fuck but credit where credits due…he’s done it.

  130. Edmond Dantes says:

Geoff. Im not kissing arse. Just stating facts. All Im saying is that Wenger has done a good job at Arsenal. I dont think anybody else could have done better.

  131. Armiyau says:

Hmmmm!cheque book…pls u people should live wenger…dnt b suprise he is nt going to sign…

  132. Edmond Dantes says:

Its not all about trophies. Its about making the best of available resources. Give any good manager the financial backing that the mancs have and he would win titles.

  133. Geoff says:

Edmund, we don’t want to hear that, that’s what AKB’s do.

  134. LAzer says:

Right I am off..we can’t seriously be debating the greatness of Wenger on here.

  135. Thanks guys…for the answers

  136. choy says:

Why does yaya not feature regularly in the barca squad?

    Who plays the holding player?

  137. Pedro says:

Edmond, bit of empty statement that… how do you know?

Are you saying no other manager could have pulled something off in the last 5 years?

  138. Arsenal Tom says:

edmond… probably right mate, but he could have done better… starting not winning back to back tittles with the teams we’ve had!

rhyle i agree mate, total cunt but 22 trophies or somtehing in 23 years… thats incredible. such a shame they didnt sack him all those years ago like they nearly did.

  139. choy says:

Edmond if you haven’t heard, there has always been money for wenger to spend.

  140. Geoff says:

He has the money that Fergie does, it’s him that chooses not to spend it.

  141. dennisdamenace says:

Look, I hate that rancid Scottish cunt with every fibre of my being, but take off your Arsene Wenger patented rose-tinted glasses ffs, has Wenger won the ECL yet? No he hasn’t. Has Wenger won back to back EPL titles? Again, no he hasn’t. If I was sad enough to drone on you’d see further evidence that ManUre’s manager is far more successful than Wenger. That’s of course if you’re judging success by trophies won not turning a club profit each year….How can you be so blinkered and deluded!

  142. Geoff says:

Ok well done men, Edmund move on, we debated that years ago.

  143. Edmond Dantes says:

Is that the best you can do. Calling me an AKB. I assure you, Im not. Wenger is not beyond reproach, I’ll be the first to admit. Anyway, we will continue this conversation some other time.

  144. Arsenal Tom says:

choy, that kieta bloke i think mate. he’s played allot more than toure, either him or busquets

  145. Edmond Dantes says:

Im out of here, for now

  146. dennisdamenace says:

And, another thing. What little resouces???? Have you seen our fucking wage bill??? Besides which AW chooses not to spend because we have immense funds should he choose to use them……Jesus, I despair!

  147. Big Raddy says:

I hate to admit it, but SAF is the best manager of all time. He has taken a team of kids and won the PL, he has bought in players for big money and won the EPL. He has even done it at a shit club like Aberdeen.

The man may be the antithesis of all I respect, but he is a brilliant manager

To cpmpare him to AW is unfair to them both.AW has modernised English football in a way the SAF couldn’t. But SAF has the trophies …..

  148. LAzer says:

totally off topic…anyone ever bought a retro top from Toffs?

Any ideas on quality, fit, material etc…am eyeing a classic for some reason.

  149. gooby says:

chamackh is playing great football this season.

he is good for the premier league, strong, quick, intelligent

  150. Nick says:

for a dm we should look too west hem or man shitty they have some quality and quantity there west ham are skint and manshitty are just shitty :)

  151. dennisdamenace says:

Nick – D’oh! The penny has finally dropped!

  152. LAzer says:

DDM…please mate I worry about you. Don’t get wound up with Edmunson and his talk, no ones buying it.

  153. Big Raddy says:

Yes I have LAzer. It is really good quality. I bought a 50′s shirt a few years back & it still looks good.

  154. choy says:

Lookin at our run of games.. i thought we should have been on top!

  155. Nick says:

choy we have only lost in mank land and both were smash and grab raids we should have had the result,so far so good imo

  156. Big Raddy says:

Why buy from WHU ? There is no-one at the Boleyn who would get a game at THOF.

    Maybe Upson as cover.

Oh I forgot the GK. Green is better than what we have at present. Though I hold high hopes for Fabianski

  157. LAzer says:

Thanks Raddy! Have my eye on a 70s classic..

  158. Big Raddy says:

    I agree with Choy.

  159. choy says:

    hey BR!

welcome back.. how was the honeymoon?

  160. dennisdamenace says:

LAzer – I have fella, I bought a retro scarf and a retro AFC shirt, both excellent quality….

  161. Nick says:

    BR
collinson or Parker even Nobel for the dcm spot

    Green for keeper

and that utility player (name escapes me) so at least three would get a game for us imo,Chealsea built a team from spares of west ham why cant we, English to boot cant be bad :)

  162. dennisdamenace says:

LAzer – I’m cool dood, I’ve just had my mid-morning dump and everything’s right in the world ;)

  163. LAzer says:

good to know dennis! right I am sold…scarf’s look pretty classy as well…

I hate to say it but some of the English lads would be lost in our locker room.

  164. LAzer says:

ahhh!! the mid-morning can be a classic. Nothing like dropping the kids off at the pool nice and early.

  165. Arsenal Tom says:

i think the key thing this year is the games we’ve lost… we’ve 2 tough games where the other teams with the same targets wont expect much more than a draw, we’ve beat all the shitty teams we previously struggled against where the other big teams have lost and drawn, if they get the same similar results and old trafford and mac stadium we’ll be laughing

  166. Arsenal Tom says:

    and getting paid for it!!!!

  167. Nick says:

not if we introduced a few of em, especially if they were used to playing with each other else where. all that matters is they know where they are on the pitch ;)

  168. dennisdamenace says:

I’d feel a lot more confident if we had Upson on our bench rather than Swiss Phil or Tweety Pie….

  169. charybdis1966 says:

As we’re discussing ole 65% proof nose, I’d like to add my input – he’s a cnut. Pure & simple. This is an Arsenal blog and I don’t have to be fair and impartial –so I won’t be.
F**k him and f**k all his cnut team.

  170. Big Raddy says:

I cannot agree with that Nick.

Do you really believe that a player who did SFA at Newcastle, and has done the same at WHU would be good enough to play with AA and Cesc? Parker plays at the level he deserves

The jury is out on Collison. And we have enough untried talent coming through. Is he better than Coquelin?

Noble? No, no, no. Way too ugly

We need top quality. CL quality. Either we break the bank or develop them. To buy a average player is a backward step. None of them are even International standard.

  171. Nick says:

DDM Upson will not come to sit on the bench.

  172. Big Raddy says:

    Thanks Choy.

  173. Big Raddy says:

    You never disappoint Chary !!

  174. Arsenal Tom says:

    Too ugly lol

    true though

  175. Nick says:

BR each to their own but i believe parker is better then song and collinson has the potential to be great and is currently better then song.
neither would cost much as the market and west ham are on the floor,i think both could play for their countries if they played for us their stock would rise.
again just imo but you are entitled to yours.

  176. Rhyle says:

Chary – fair enough fella! he’s clearly just above Hitler in my estimation of what qualifies as decency in a human being but there’s no denying his achievements even if he is an alcoholic clownshoes frottager / cottager.

  177. Rhyle says:

Two mins silence at 11 o’clock.

Here’s to us and those like us…there are too few left.

  178. Big Raddy says:

    Very generous of you Nick.

  179. ArsenalKenya says:

WE ALL LOVE YOU EDUARDO!!!….WELL SAID

Eduardo is aiming to help overcome disappointment with Croatia by helping Arsenal to Premier League and UEFA Champions League glory.

Although Croatia qualified for Euro 2008 in style Slaven Bilic’s side narrowly failed to qualify for next summer’s World Cup in South Africa.

The Gunners have gone four years without winning a trophy since the 2005 FA Cup final and Eduardo believes it could finally be their year.

Arsenal have made a blistering start to the new campaign and are now just five points adrift of leaders Chelsea with a game in hand.

Eduardo says Wenger’s squad are full of confidence and quietly believe they can surprise a few teams this year by winning overdue silverware.

    Stronger
“At the moment we are improving a lot and feel stronger mentally – the atmosphere inside the squad is good, we are very together,” Eduardo said.

“We are doing very well at the moment and I hope we can produce a big surprise this year.

“I am feeling good. At the beginning of the season I had a few injury niggles, but I am okay now and ready to help the team rise to the top of the table, as well as progressing in the Champions League.”

    Disappointment
Eduardo concedes Croatia were not at their best throughout their qualifying campaign and that it is a massive disappointment by failing to reach South Africa.

“There were a few games in which we didn’t play well,” he said. “We have caused surprises in a lot of major tournaments in recent years, so this was very disappointing for us.

“There are a lot of good players in our team and maybe we could have done something in South Africa, but it is difficult for a country like Croatia to go to every single World Cup – we are not like Brazil, who never fail to qualify.

“We will learn from what has happened and put our efforts into preparing for the Euro 2012 qualifiers.”

  180. Maciek says:

Guys, maybe Jan Vertonghen from Ajax. He is a good friend with Tomas and he is a great player. Not a cdm sensu stricto but a quality player who can adapt.

  181. ayoola says:

we keep talking about eastmond, coquelin and those young boys. what we should realise however is that they just cannot perform at the level we expect them to… big games of the season dat determines how our season will end is when they will capitulate. I really cannot see a midfield of fabregas, coquelin and nasir out-muscling one of iniesta, keita, busquets and xavi or those bullies from chelsea. what we need are experienced players who coquelin and eastmond should understudy and consequently step into the shoes.. lets call a spade a spade. our midfiled have not been dat dominant defensively and dats why we have conceeded so much.
if the goals dry up, it does not mean the leakage at the goal will too.
    be ware.

  182. insidealbania says:

Hello Grovers, it is busy in here today.

I don’t think we need to buy a striker in Jan, we have RVP, Eduardo, Arsh, Vela, and if you add Watt it looks good enough.
The cover we need is DM as you suggest and possibly a CB.

  183. dennisdamenace says:

Nick – he might do with a top four club, better to get 20 games a year challenging for the ECL and EPL than 60 games a year staving off relegation!

  184. chozzer says:

Every morning I thank the gods I was born a gooner.

If I’d been born a manc (even with all those trophies), I can’t help feeling that my life would’ve been full of self-loathing.

As for being born a spud…………….

  185. LAzer says:

yeah true that. We need CL quality and sadly the lot of them aren’t if we must be honest.

Hey Raddy the 50s classic you bought, was it the v-neck? Does it have a cannon on it or plain?

  186. Maciek says:

Or Denis Kolodin or Denisov from Russia.

  187. charybdis1966 says:

I aim to please Radders/Rhyle :) – and to redress the balance when it comes to all things Mank.

I have enough hatred of that sweaty to fill several more blogs.

  188. Rhyle says:

Chary – feel free to vent fella! I could do with a laugh and laughing at Mancs is one of lifes true pleasures!

  189. Big Raddy says:

lol Chozzer. And so true …

  190. Edmond Dantes says:

Im back Grovers. But dont assume its to stir things up. I just want to participate in some polite conversation. Is that ok with the powers that be?

  191. Nick says:

Edmond no need for the statement just do it.

  192. Big Raddy says:

LAzer. It was a the 49/50 shirt. Very comfortable and stylish. Washes well

  193. LAzer says:

    gotcha…thanks.

  194. Edmond Dantes says:

Im slightly reluctant Nick as I was called an AKB on this site. By all accounts, I believe thats not very complimentary.

  195. goonermichael says:

How’s married life Raddy? Congratulatioms by the way!!

  196. Big Raddy says:

No disrespect to any other bloggers but Chary 10.51 is the most eloquent post we have had on here for some time. I think I should forward it to Norway, it could get the Nobel prize for Literature

  197. Arsenal Tom says:

edmond… just relax mate, get involved with whatever talk is going on that you have an opinion on

  198. Big Raddy says:

    Thanks GM.

Life is great apart from the very dreary Danish weather.

  199. Big Raddy says:

Edmond. What do you think of the earlier idea of playing AA on the right and Eduardo /Vela on the left ?

  200. Arsenal Tom says:

Bendtner said after picking up the two awards: “I had three aims this year – to get into the Arsenal team, qualify for the World Cup and to be Player of the Year. I have achieved them all.

“I want to be top scorer in the Premier League, top scorer at the World Cup and, within five years, I want to be among the best strikers in the world.”

    cant fault the boys ambition

  201. goonermichael says:

It’s getting cold here Raddy. I’m going to the gym in a little while. If my stomach doesn’t start getting smaller soon I’m having liposuction

  202. Nick says:

GM have you got the correct attire now :)

  203. AndAPrayer says:

Just on the subject of Denilson: There have been quite a few posts above trying to link Denilson’s absense to our playing well. If I may be so bold as to point out that we have been playing well since the start of the season and at that point, prior to his injury, Denilson was very much part of the team.

  204. goonermichael says:

France midfielder Patrice Evra has seemingly developed a curious superstition ahead of Saturday’s crunch World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland. The Manchester United player has given up drinking Sprite because the green label reminds him of his nation’s opponents and he’s also a whingeing cunt.

  205. Big Raddy says:

That seems a good idea GM. Probably cheaper than the gym in the long run. And you don’t have to put in so much work ….

  206. Nick says:

Gm im no expert but to lose your belly you have to watch the diet as much as the gym no pastry dairy where possible and eat healthier.
I found doing cardio in kcl rather then time/distance helped with the eating coz you can relate the kcl content with pain :) .
cardio is the best way and doing sit ups will make your belly bigger. all good stuff spent this year getting rid of mine so know what your going through

  207. Edmond Dantes says:

Raddy. I think that will work very well. Many of our forward players are very versatile. Alternatively, I like Arshavin to play behind the central striker and Eduardo as a poacher in the box. But with the interchanging of positions by plyers which goes on quite often, the arsenal system is very fluid.

  208. goonermichael says:

I got one of those fitdry Arsenal training tops from the Arsenal shop. Very comfortable. I still stink though lol. I’ve got really shit asics trainers. I really hate trainers (and jeans).

  209. goonermichael says:

How much is liposuction? Anybody know?

  210. Edmond Dantes says:

I dont like Evra at all. Especially, after his comments about us after the CL semis last season.

  211. goonermichael says:

City started the campaign in fine form, winning their opening four games, including that one against the Gunners, and challenging for the Premier League leadership.

However, a run of five successive draws coincided with Emmanuel Adebayor’s return from a three-match ban for his attack on Robin van Persie.

    What a suprise

  212. Nick says:

GM also watch what you drink as more then half the over kcl we consume are from liquid in one form or another asics are fucking ugly but good to run in.
Have you tried any classes like spin or such there good to get you on the cardio path.
Mainly populated by birds so manly bravado makes you carry on even when all you want to do is cry :)

  213. SharkeySure says:

Mayank 9.54 well said, I’m with you all the way on that one. Credit where its due to any element of Arsenal, players, mangaer, tea lady. If they get stick when its ghoing bad then why not credit when its going good..??

Pedro 9.56. No ones crowing like we’ve won something, just realyl happy its going well, and not worrying to much about the future.

When things are going bad and everyones having a good whinge about it…who says don’t worry things might get better soon. No one !!

In that scenario the current situation is all that matters, so why should the same not apply now, whilst things are going vey well..??

  214. Big Raddy says:

We clearly defensive application on the right when Song goes to the ANC. So moving him over there could be counter-productive. Especially as Sagna has found such a strong run of attacking form. If fit, I prefer to play Theo right and AA left/central. Bringing Eduardo on late in the game.

But as you say, we are getting so proficient at interchanging players.

  215. Edmond Dantes says:

Bendtner is very confident. Lets hope that its not misplaced. Anyway, he gives us another option up front, with his style of play. We will need a plan B in games and he’s good as a sub.

  216. SharkeySure says:

Fergie is a great manager but theres something a little stomach churning for me hearing an Arsenal fan use those achievements to somehow lessen Arsene’s own.

  217. goonermichael says:

Thanks Nick. I’ve only been going for 3 weeks. I’ve been setting the machines by calories. I need to build up some stamina. Last week I did a circuit trainig class and it nearly killed me. Feels good after though. I might book a personal trainer but it’s £50 an hour

  218. Arsenal Tom says:

ade’s back to his old self at city… i can hear the beyonce bullshit for next summer already

  219. Big Raddy says:

I bought some liposuction for my last wife as a birthday present (to us both :-) )

    I paid about €3k.

  220. goonermichael says:

    I’m off see you later

  221. Nick says:

GM dont bother i used to have one paid the cunt a fortune and all he did was stand around perving over the birds in the gym..waste of space, what gym do you use..if its a big one as part of your membership you should get an induction and work out plan

  222. Rhyle says:

Can someone remind me…Patrice Evra – is he a bigger wanker than Darren Fletcher or not? Who is the biggest arsehole in the Utd team since horseface left?

  223. SharkeySure says:

Prayer…good shout. We also conceded 3 goals after Denilson left the field vs Shitty !!

Den is a decent player, lacks physicality, but for me has everything else.

  224. goonermichael says:

It’s centralymca. I haven’t booked the induction yet. The trainers are all gay lol

  225. Edmond Dantes says:

I’ve always liked Sagna at RB even though hes not the best going forward. But most importantly, hes solid and quite athletic. He defends well in the air as well. the season before he came in, we were conceding far too many goals from corners coming to the near post. Not so much since.

  226. Arsenal Tom says:

rhyle… evra no doubt… absolute 100% bonafide cunt

  227. Big Raddy says:

    Rhyle.

Strange question. They are all arseholes of equal magnitude.

  228. Nick says:

do you swim? thats the best thing.
I started off swimming then introduced cardio then weights now i spend two hours a night doing all three its fucking hard but it gets addictive and the results are coming thick and fast just like the ladies 8)

  229. Edmond Dantes says:

I agree Tom. Evra takes it for me as well. But you dont have to look too hard to find others in that manure side.

  230. Big Raddy says:

I love Sagna. He has great attitude (Unlike EE), a superb engine, is good in the air, and a fine tackler. My only criticism was his crossing ability, but he has improved tis season.

He is back to the player we saw 2 seasons ago, and is a shoe in as best RB in the EPL

  231. Big Raddy says:

    lol AT

  232. charybdis1966 says:

Thanks Radders – we have to fight back against the tidal wave of media infatuation of Sir Funguscum and his cro magnon acolytes.

  233. Big Raddy says:

I’m out. Thanks for a very entertaining morning

  234. Arsenal Tom says:

Yeah, johnson might be better going forward but he’s a shit defender and is far too flashy. bosingwa aint bad but he’s got the stupid 1 eye brow thing going on so he dont count

  235. Stu says:

    RIP Robert Enke.. :(

  236. insidealbania says:

Rhyle The whole team is a bunch of wankers, but the biggest wankers of them all are their fans.

  237. Nick says:

stu do they know how it happend yet,did he mean to do it or was it an accident??

  238. Edmond Dantes says:

The media is always biased towards manure and downplays Arsenal’s achievements. I dont want to focus on the past but which team has gone through the entire league campaign undefeated in recent decades? The level of competion in the EPL is intense. That achievement is truly remarkable but does not get the acclaim it deserves. Quite unlike manure’s treble in 99′ which always gets the plaudits. Last season Barca won the treble.

  239. Stu says:

Apparently he parked his car on a train track and waited for the train. He was unstable since his daighter died 2 years ago. Tis a real shame.

  240. Nick says:

    bad times poor sod.

  241. Stu says:

Arsenal are underrated throughout the world. And its a known fact because i recently got PES and arsenals stats in it are shit! ;)

  242. Nick says:

Edmond i fet you but the media refer to the invincibles a lot and the achievement will get bigger as the players retire as with wenger that will be what every body wants to talk to them about or refer too

  243. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Is it a full moon, oh no, its international fortnight. People are cranky again ;)

Just as well we are sweltering here, it certainly helps  during international fortnight.

  244. SharkeySure says:

I can never quite get my head around suicide.

But I do have a lot of sympathy for those who feel its their only choice.

    I read they’d adopted another little girl (8mths old)recently.

Ordinarily I could adopt a child..but not sure I could do that after losing one of my own, I think it would feel too weird

  245. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Geoff

Shouldn’t The Arsenal be persuing the option of Vela, Eduardo or Theo, before a skinny one hit wonder like Watt. Just a thought ;)

  246. Nick says:

I would have recommended it too you, think it would suit you….not the adoption bit.

  247. Nick says:

where you been stu not sleeping all this time, since the last time i typed with you???

  248. Edmond Dantes says:

I dread these international breaks too. They are really boring. It would be nice if there were more Arsenal lads in the England side. But im sure that it will come soon. Anyway, Im out of here.

  249. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Who the @#%$ is numchucks

  250. Stu says:

That depends Nick..When did we last speak? I got the game on friday so i’ve pretty much been playing it since. Simple as that.

  251. gazzap says:

    Rooney is a massive cunt.
Flethcher and Evra are pretenders to his crown of king cunt. Neville is also a cunt. Berbatov and Carrick are ex-spuds and mancs – thats pretty cuntish too.

  252. gnarleygeorge9 says:

gazzap who are probably right, but can you tell me who numbchucks is?

  253. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    *you

  254. Stu says:

    Numbchucks is Chamakh.

  255. Pedro says:

Edmond, I’m not quite sure what sort of recognition you’re looking for?

I think the media gush over us when we’re playing well… and the treble is always going to get more coverage… Champions of Europe and your home country is where you want to be…

  256. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    cheers Stu,

  257. insidealbania says:

Gazzap – surely Neville is King Cunt

  258. insidealbania says:

Stu – whats the major difference between the new one and the old one?

  259. gazzap says:

Its time for one of those international break style questions. what would you rather win, the Prem league or the Champions League, and why?

  260. Pedro says:

I always think suicide is a little selfish…

  261. djalmina says:

Suicide is tragic… But what a stupid way to do it from Enke, he put other people on the train at risk.

  262. Stu says:

Honestly insidealbania, i havent noticed a difference yet, but thats probably because i have the ps2 one. Im not spending 300euro on a ps3 just to play a game.

  263. raj says:

Cant believe some of you debating the greatness of Arsene Wenger…the guys a fuckin genius..he wont buy in Jan and we’re gonna have a great season

  264. chris says:

I don’t think Chamakh will leave in january – certainly not for less than £5-6m
Bordeaux know he’s going for nearly nothing anyway and it would disrupt them too much to change their main striker in the middle of the season, especially as they’re still in the CL so they will probably think they’d be better off making him stay and hoping they can persuade him to sign another contract later if they have some success or they can find a bit more money.
I’m not sure we need him anyway though – Nik wasn’t going to get many games at CF and no important games unless RvP got injured.

  265. Stu says:

djalmina, the train was never in danger, nor the people on it imo.

  266. insidealbania says:

Stu – The PS3 is the dog’s bollox mate, and its not only for playing games. I agree the price is a bit high, but it will drop.

  267. SharkeySure says:

Not sure I’d agree with that Stu….nor would the train driver

A car on the tracks would cause the train a pretty serious problem wouldn’t it…??

  268. Stu says:

Probably sharkey but i doubt it would derail the train. Unless the car was stuck at an awkward angle. Chances are that the train would just break the car in 2.

  269. gazzap says:

Wikipedia says it was just him in front of the train no his car as well – though it was at a level crossing. obviously you cant always trust wiki.

  270. SharkeySure says:

Raj…from where I’m sat its not ‘debating Wengers greatness’, its ‘downgrading Wengers greatness’ that I have seen this morning.

Someone mentioned no back to back titles…I was dumbfounded reading that one !!

There’s a bust of him at the Emirates for a very good reason !!!

  271. Stu says:

Imagine if it was actually just him and the train. There would be nothing left of him, just a stain on the front of the train.

  272. SharkeySure says:

You’re prob right Stu…but seriously, would you want to be on tht train…??

  273. Stu says:

Be on a train that kills someone? No thanks.

  274. Nick says:

im sure wender sites not winning back to back titles as a disappointment for him.
If you compare winning things Ferguson wins hands down but wenger has changed the way we play football in England and set an unbeaten record along the way.

  275. Pedro says:

Sharkey, I don’t think it’s downgrading greatness at all. It’s just asking people to get a little perspective.

He’s a great manager, but the way you were talking yesterday… you’d have thought he’d won 5 straight Premiership trophies, and the last 5 years hadn’t happened.

Dennis pointed out if trophies aren’t your thing, then maybe he is the greatest of all time.

  276. Nick says:

    wenger does as well :)

  277. Nick says:

I should have guessed it was that plumb that started it all  wondered where it came from this morning

  278. Bostonian says:

i have a feeling that we might go to a 4-4-2 or rather a 4-2-3-1 with diaby and denilson being the 2 and combination of Cesc, nasri, rosicky, arshavin or eduardo as the 3 and RVP or eduardo up top.

in 4-2-3-1 eduardo would struggle to fit as he is not a mucker in tackles but Nasri and Rosicky would shoe in easily.

  279. Bostonian says:

4-2-3-1 would be closer to what we did last year but there would be no togo twat and eboue in that

  280. tonyadamsisgod says:

Nick! You’re a KFC lover right??

  281. SharkeySure says:

Pedro. Edmund said all hail Lord Wenger and proceeded to basically get his head kicked in by a few people.

Mayank had it spot on…praise any individual player ..no problem. Praise Wenger and you’re judged to be an ‘arse kisser’.

    Its odd.

Look at David’s comment last night. He basically thinks that if you’re an ‘AKB’ you’re fair game for unrestrained abuse and that the house rules no longer apply.

I can see why he thinks that, and I reckon you should be able to as well….

  282. Bostonian says:

    4-2-3-1 last year

    sagna Toure Gallas Clichy

    Song Denilson

    Eboue Cesc Diaby/Arshavin

    Togo Twat

    4-2-3-1 this year

    Sagna/Eboue Gallas TV Clichy/Gibbs

    Denilson Diaby

    Rosicky/Ramsey Cesc Nasri/Arshavin

    RVP/Dudu

  283. SharkeySure says:

Perspective…?? There weren’t too much of that over the summer.

Upside and downside…lets treat them the same !!

  284. santino says:

sorry for the repost .but it really worth a look

couldnt agree more cloughie , couldnt agree more

  285. Duke says:

Pav wants to leave Spurs because he lost his place in the Russian starting 11.
That place was not his to start with, he only got it because Pogrebnyak got injured, who is doing well in Germany now. And Kerzakov is back to his best after he almost ruined his career by going to Spain.
No place for him, no matter which club he plays for. But I am glad he is leaving as he is a decent striker and don’t want Spurs to have a player of his calibre, honestly I think he is their 1st (Defoe?) or 2nd best striker, much better than the Twat and the dancing robot.

  286. Ooby says:

FA cant do anything about Ngog because Ref saw incident. He obviously fucking didnt though did he! Also the comparisons with Eddy piss me off as Eddy was made contact with (albeit still exagerrated fall). I fucking hate Bindippers more than Spuds the cunts

  287. dennisdamenace says:

My ‘back to back titles’ comment was in reponse to someone’s comment about AW being the greatest manager, if you choose to take it out of context to make a point that’s your call….

  288. Pedro says:

Sharkey, you know there is a difference between praising Wenger… and saying ‘All hail Wenger, he is the greatest manager in the world’.

  289. tonyadamsisgod says:

All divers are cunts for diving! That includes Eduardo, Eboue and any other Arsenal player that tries to deceive the ref. Wankers.

  290. Nick says:

na KFC aint my best mate why??? :)

  291. SharkeySure says:

Oob – Surely the ref is allowed to look at it again and realise he was conned.

I thought the ‘already seen it’ thing was for off the ball type stuff..eg raising hands, etc

  292. Pedro says:

Sharkey, they do get treated the same.

Do BBK and David get blanket agreement? No…

Did Edmund get blanket agreement? No…

Does BBK complain that he gets a rough ride by you, A and Keyser? Nope.. I don’t think I ever hear that?

  293. Nick says:

Taig i concur, also manshitty drawing cost me £481.86 wankers still every cloud and all that :)

  294. Geoff says:

Edmund, you really should read what I say before you feel insulted, I said you sound like an AKB, anyone who make a statement like ‘all hail Wenger’ would do though, wouldn’t they.

I didn’t say you were one.

You are welcome on here to have fun like we all do, but comments like you made will get retorts like I made.

  295. chakravo says:

Morning. I haven’t read the comments yet, just the post, so pardon me if this has already been discussed. While I would love to have players like Chamakh and Matuidi, even if Wenger was to make a move for them, why would they come? I am fairly certain they will not want to be backup, even if it means moving to the Arsenal, and no way is Chamakh going to replace RvP, or Arsh-uardo or Rosi-cott as our three forward players. Matuidi might be perfect during the ACN but then what? I am not saying this would not be a “good” situation for the club, but I am sure anyone we look at will ask himself, “Am I going to be playing regularly?”, especially Matuidi if France qualify for the WC.

  296. Nick says:

Taig how did the wedding go,did you get wrapped aroung the boxing??

  297. Geoff says:

Chakravo, I was being polite to the you-know-who lovers! I just know if he signs those two they would end up first choice.

  298. SharkeySure says:

Yeah there is Pedro but THATS HIS OPINION. Why should he be shouted down for it, and told not to air it..??

Fair do’s people will/should argue against it if they disagree.

But to make it sound like it ain’t welcome doesn’t seem right.

    The banner says:
“A blog where you can have an opinion not get [or be given?]one”

  299. Evo in Oz says:

    No matuidi, denilson for sure!

  300. Arsenal Tom says:

    santino… top stuff mate

  301. Geoff says:

Are you off again sharkey, the blog is for people to have fun, not argumentative twits.

  302. SharkeySure says:

Anyways… I’ll read the replies but leave that topic there

  303. Nick says:

but you go on and on all the time, you are probably the most negative sod on here all you do is talk about the negative stuff i like most come on here to have a bit of banter not read drivel harping on about how hard done by people feel

  304. Evo in Oz says:

Maybe numbchucks thou if vela isn’t fit to replace bendtner

  305. chakravo says:

Geoff, Matuidi I can just about see it – I am guessing he is replacing Song in your mind’s eye – but Chamakh? Really, who would he replace to become first choice? Surely not RvP!

  306. Nick says:

    Geoff great minds buddy :)

  307. tonyadamsisgod says:

Nick – Just needed to make some KFC fans jealous and I know Le Grove has its fair share of them! My sister just dropped round an industrial size bag of Hot Wings! Heart attack here I come!

The wedding went well, recorded the boxing and managed to start watching it by about 11:45pm. I told you he would win! And if he didn’t crack his hand my prediction of a knock out would have been bang on the money I reckon! Haye on points was the best possible outcome for our book though!!

  308. SharkeySure says:

Leave me alone please Geoff this a topic that me nad pedro debated respectfully and briefly last night…I’m not arguiong with anyone.

When Pedro’s ready he’ll tell me to leave it….

My last post says I’m done with it all anyway

  309. Geoff says:

No chakravo, Bendtner. Nick, what can you do eh!

  310. Geoff says:

So you’re arguing from last night then, fuck me you need help.

  311. chris says:

TAIG How does the all divers are cheating wankers stack up with the argument that pretty football that falls at the last hurdle is a waste of time if it doesn’t win trophies?

I’m not saying Arsenal haven’t had loads of dodgy pens but you don’t want to give those games back or the trophies they might have helped to win or to say Pires (for example) wasn’t a great player?

Stevie G’s dive in Istanbul is why they made the greatest comeback ever (in a CL final) and why they get to wear the 5 stars on the shirt and keep the cup and all that.

On the other hand what about deliberate fouling that looks like mistimed challenges aka getting stuck in etc etc – is diving the worst then?

I would not support diving at all except for this: If you stay on your feet and get crowded out or blast the ball over or straight at the keeper you don’t get anything like the penaltuies you do if you dive – There has to be punishment for divers but also more penalties given where minor infringements are riddden or ignored by the striker aaaaagh it’s all getting too complicated again! Maybe there are some (about 1000) reasons UEFA sdidn’t act on Eduardo after all.

  312. Nick says:

what do you think the odds are on the fight being at the den i hear wemberley is being touted about now :( and whats that on your chin :)

  313. SharkeySure says:

Nick…change Geoffs name for your own in my last post.

I’m not gonna argue with either of ya

  314. Pedro says:

Well my opinion is Nik B is the greatest player in the world…

Do I deserve to be knocked down a peg or two for saying that, of course… would I be insulted if people did that? No…

If you have stupid opinion and you publish it online, then you have to realise they will be challenged.

I don’t understand why you are defending someone who came on for the sole purpose of wind up.

What happened to just talking about football? You seem to spend the majority of time talking about how unwelcome you feel, or critiquing the tone? Kind of like you’re not going to be happy until everyone is of the same disposition as you?

Wouldn’t that be boring for you?

  315. SharkeySure says:

    Thanks Geoff

  316. Ooby says:

Can you imagine Clough managing prem team now! What would he say now …

  317. chakravo says:

Alright Geoff, I don’t see Bendtner as first-choice right now, so I can’t see what Chamakh would bring to the team, but I can’t see many things, so..

  318. Geoff says:

    I got you covered Sharkey.

  319. SharkeySure says:

    Short memory there Pedro…

    But lets leave it there.

  320. Nick says:

Geoff i was starting to think it was just me,he loves an argument… did i mention negative he sucks the atmos out the blog every time ;)

  321. arsenesabemejor says:

    isnt wemberley in the states?

  322. Geoff says:

Chakravo, I think we need at least 4 forwards, so we can change things and rotate, if Wenger wanted him in the summer, then since we have lost Bendtner, then surely we need him now, that was my thinking.

  323. Geoff says:

Nick it’s when you get 4 or 5 on at the same time.

  324. Mayank says:

DOn’t want to part-take in the current convo but something funny caught my attention.

Edmund, you really should read what I say before you feel insulted, I said you sound like an AKB, anyone who make a statement like ‘all hail Wenger’ would do though, wouldn’t they.

I didn’t say you were one.

It’s like saying I didn’t call you a cunt i just said you like a cunt.
    lol

  325. Nick says:

I know im usually here, you could say im a professional blogger at the mo :) Try my hardest to keep le grove for grovers and not let em drive me mad but its hard :)

  326. Pedro says:

Mayank, every man likes a cunt, surely?

  327. Ooby says:

Ueah but bendtner is the best striker in the world Pedro.. Ahem

  328. Pedro says:

Cool, we’ll leave it Sharkey. The tone of the blog and how it’s set up isn’t up for debate… it is what it is, and it works.

  329. Mr B says:

Pedro most more than ONE ;)

  330. tonyadamsisgod says:

Nick – ha ha! Wont happen at the Den I don’t think. We cant get the big bucks fighting there and that,s what he, like most boxers, wants!!

  331. Ooby says:

    *yeah

  332. Mr B says:

    Some like an Arsehole too.

  333. dennisdamenace says:

    Nowwwww then youngggg maaaan!

  334. Geoff says:

I’m taking that as a compliment Mayank, a tribute to my copywriting skills.

Nick, I still agree with you mate!

  335. Mayank says:

Sorry to contradict my last post but

Pedro there’s a difference b/w saying Nik B is the best and getting abuse and saying Wenger is the best and getting abuse.

Wenger hasn’t won as many trophies as SAF does that make him a lesser manager? I don’t think i’d get abuse for saying Henry is the greatest player of all time(even though he never won Ballon D’or), people would dis-agree but no-one would say ‘We don’t praise Henry here’

I when it comes to Wenger people feel the need not praise him as they see it as a sign of weakness.

  336. Mayank says:

    Oops noticed my typo
    *sound like a cunt*

  337. rayman says:

Didn’t know Nik would be out for so long, not sure its official that it will be two months, I saw 4 weeks mentioned in a broadsheet.

Even if he was out for 2 months, that has him coming back in mid jan, just as chamakh is arriving, I can’t see the point of that and when everyone is fit we would have yet another person to fit into an already crowded area of the team.

Much rather see us buy a CB and offload either Silvestre or Senderos so we have someone coming thru who can take over from Gallas next year as well as cover for our two CBs this year. Would love any or all of: a decent keeper, CB and cover for Song in Januray, all before a bid for Chamakh.

Also Watt is years from leading the line in any Prem team let alone Arsenal, thats if he ever does, he isn’t even prolific in the reserves compared to Nik and Lupoli (where is he now). One goal and half decent game does not make him an option, no more than one decent game makes Eastmond an option as cover for Song (or even as good as Coquelin).

  338. Nick says:

you do :) truest thing you have said

  339. Ooby says:

Hes the greatest Arsenal manager since Bruce Rioch – how’s that?

  340. Pedro says:

Mayank, I don’t think many people would agree with you and say that Henry is the greatest of all time. Maybe for Arsenal.

Calling Wenger the greatest manager when you’ve got managers like Mourinho, Ancellotti and Fergie still in the game seems a bit silly to me.

Saying ‘All hail Wenger’, like he’s some sort of demi-god is also a bit pathetic as well.

No one see’s praise as a sign of weakness, I’d say worship is though… it’s a bit sad as well… especially as we’re only in November.

  341. dennisdamenace says:

Arsene Wenger is a great manager, but he’s not the greatest….

    I thank you!

  342. Pedro says:

Mr B, so very very true…

  343. SharkeySure says:

Fair do’s Pedro…but when I blog on how happy I am with the start to the season I get told I’m going overboard…even in my absence.

Our convo about Essien wasn’t about the tone of the blog was it….

    Or your objective reporting…??

    I could go on…..

Geoff and I don’t get along, somehow I’m really not sure if I get along with Nick, but beyond that I have a decent rapport with a lot of bloggers on here

  344. insidealbania says:

    NEWS FLASH

Arsene Wenger loosing sleep for not being praised on Le-grove

  345. rayman says:

While Nik is out we still have RVP, Theo, Arsh, Eduardo, Nasri, Tom and Vela to chose from. No need for anyone else to come in.

When Song is at the ACN I can see AW playing Denilson as the DM. We have some tough games over those five or so weeks so not sure I am all that happy about that prospect, though I do rate him as a box to box midfielder and squad player. But he is a far better option than Diaby (no discipline / intelligence), Ramsey and Nasri (both too creative, would be wasted might so far back, might be clever enough to do it but would be very inexperienced in the position),Eastmond, Coquelin (too inexperienced and young)or Senderos (too slow and inexperienced in that position).

  346. SharkeySure says:

    *Convo about your objective reporting*

  347. Edmond Dantes says:

Mayank. You did not have to take it literally when I said “all hail Wenger.” I was just trying stir things up. Anyway im not insulted by that AKB slur. By the way, its not “Edmund”

  348. Mayank says:

But Pedro that’s my point, for calling Henry the greatest I’d get balanced response, I’m sure ‘DB10 is god’ has been written many times across many Arsenal blogs, but none of these comments ever invoke the wrath of Arsenal fans like saying ‘Wenger is the greatest’.
    It’s not balanced that’s all I’m saying.

  349. Nick says:

so there you have it this whole argument was based on what was perceived as a wind up by most, defended by the few pathetic

  350. Edmond Dantes says:

I like to promote healthy debate amongst my fellow arsenal supporters. So if I say something weird or out of line, there is a method to the madness.

  351. insidealbania says:

    you are welcome DDM

  352. Mayank says:

    Edmond, I was quoting Geoff.

  353. Mr B says:

for those of you wondering why we should get chamakh, Hes better in the air than all of our forwards and will show more tanacity and will for the cause than either eddie or nic b. If thats not enough we can make a profit off him when we sell him after a season for atleast 10m.

  354. Nick says:

wow today is flying by :)

  355. Pedro says:

Sharkey, I’m not saying you always blog like that!

I’m just saying why can’t you ignore your problems with the tone, and talk football… like the Essien thing, or you Song admiration? It’s much more interesting… even if I don’t always agree with it!

I think praise of the club is fine… if I didn’t, I and most others would tell you why we didn’t think so.

I think it’s hard to argue that we’re all pleased with things so far… I’m still not sure about the title, but we’re going in the right direction!

  356. Pedro says:

    Sharkey, case and point… 13:25

  357. Mayank says:

    lol insidealbania 1.18.

  358. dennisdamenace says:

    Eh?

  359. Edmond Dantes says:

Wenger is my fellow country-man, so maybe I am a little biased in lavishing praise on him. But I do believe in his vision and footballing philosophy.

  360. Duke says:

taig, yellow mate, Haye is full of shit, he didn’t crack anything, he is saying that because he stuck to a well organised plan (like the Klitchkos do). But he bigged himself up as being the most exiting thing to happen to Heavyweight boxing since Ali.
Anyway, good job on picking the winner, was not an easy one.
My money is on a Cotto decision at 8 to 1. What about you?

  361. SharkeySure says:

Mayank – ‘I wanna say good on ya’, but without making things worse or upsetting Nick.

    Ooops…..

  362. Nick says:

    what a bell-end

  363. Mr B says:

Well Henry and Bergkamp delivered on a regular basis. Still dosent warrant then getting called gods, only God can be called God. But to the point Wenger has failed to deliver for a long time. Its not so much the fact that hes failed thats annoying but the way he has failed by being stubborn and failing to see things a 5 year old could. e.g. our defensive frailties, we havenot had a decent and experienced defence for a long time now and it isnt getting better fast.

  364. Nick says:

stick to moaning coz your comedy is boring as well

  365. SharkeySure says:

    Got a meeting not hiding….

  366. Mayank says:

    Cheers Shark,

Edmond you’d said earlier you’d spoken to Wenger in the summer, care to expand, anything interesting?

Pedro once said hi to Diaby and is still banging on about it.

  367. Geoff says:

Sharkey stop fucking whining all, you are beginning to sound like a bird.

  368. insidealbania says:

never mind DDM, any insider info on the Vela injury? Also you said in the summer that AW was not gonna buy any midfielders because he was happy with what he has got (which is understandable considering the start we have made). But you did say that he saw the GK position as a weakness, so is anything being planned to rectify the situation??

  369. Edmond Dantes says:

I would much rather prefer Edin Dzeko to Chamakh. Chamakh is Morrocan and he will also go to the ACN every 2 years. But Dzeko will cost too much and we all know Wenger’s fiscal policy at Arsenal.

  370. Mr B says:

Nick you talking to me cuz in that case I can understand your point of view perfectly. You might be used to under achieving but thats not good enough for the best among us.

  371. Nick says:

hope it lasts a long while and at least you say what you see, dont make snide comments like some other fuck wits.

  372. Mr B says:

    oh im sorry its sharkey

  373. Nick says:

Mr B sorry you lost me mate not posted in response to you all day if that helps :?

  374. Edmond Dantes says:

Mayank. Well, he was in Auteuil which is in the country just outside of Paris. I approached him and we spoke for a while. I didn’t want to bother him or appear like some crazed fan. So he spoke a little about football politics and economics. Like forming a super-league and Platini etc.

  375. dennisdamenace says:

How ya doing Inside you old dirthole!?

Nothing as yet, other than what I was told at the end ov the close season about AW identifying the GK position as a weakness in the team, I know from the same contact that he looked at Rob Green, but that’s about all for the moment….

  376. Pedro says:

Mayank, pestered him for 45 minutes is what I actually did… and insulted his agent.

  377. Nick says:

DDM we looked at green whats the verdict?????

  378. Edmond Dantes says:

DDM. Luckily we did not get Green. Almunia is marginally better. Im being unrealistic, but I would love somebody like Buffon to keep for us. We have a tradition of having great keepers. Manuel is not in the same class as David or Jens etc. For me he’s a good number 2 keeper.

  379. insidealbania says:

    I am not bad.
    Rob Green eh? that’s interesting.
I have to say I dont think we will get anyone in the next window. And to be honest I dont we should go into the market if this form continues. Mind you I would snap up PV04 because it would give the players a lift on and off the pitch. It will also add a winner to the dressing room.

  380. Nick says:

inside remember fowlers return to Anfield never go back they say and in the case of pv4 i hope he doesn’t.
I want to remember the great man not his shadow

  381. Nick says:

I like green but all keepers play well against us ;)

  382. Edmond Dantes says:

Mayank. Let me be honest. When I spoke to AW, I dont think I caught half of what he said. I do idolise him and I was in a sort of daze. He was talking to me but I was in disbelief and could not believe my luck at meeting him. So I made a hasty departure since he was also with his family, and I did not want to intrude.

  383. Mr B says:

Peter Cech, hell probably move if we win the league. He was the best in the world imo before his injury

  384. insidealbania says:

I can understand where you are coming from Nick, but we shouldn’t expect PV04 to be his old self anyway. We have Song who is on good form, and I think based on that form he deserves to keep his place at least till the end of the season. PV04 will provide experience and winning mentality for the young players. I dont think he will have many starts which is not what he looking for in WC year.

  385. Mr B says:

    @ Inside Albania

I still think Cana would be a good signing for DM

  386. Gunnersmith says:

All Hail Nik B the greatest player in the world…

  387. Edmond Dantes says:

I have always wanted to know what would have happened if Arsenal did not have to sell players every season. Imagine if Anelka stayed on, how well he could developed. On the flipside, we may not have signed Henry. But would’nt you rather be in a position where the club did not not have to sell.

  388. Rhyle says:

Cana is good but…good enough? I’m yet to be convinced. DM is such a hard position to pick PL quality. For me…the only attainable outstanding prospect would be Yaya Toure (who I very much doubt would join after the way Kolo was unhappy at Arsenal) or, as an outside bet, De Rossi.

For keeper? Only one name stands out as good enough and attainable – Akinfeev.

  389. Gunnersmith says:

Mr B I recall a certain Cana that plays for Sunderland and boy i wont be happy if he plays for us

  390. dennisdamenace says:

Nick – I’m just talking to my AFC chum on email right now, I’ll keep you posted….

  391. insidealbania says:

    I agree with Gunnersmith.

  392. Nick says:

Nice one DDM press for exclusives but dont go all pedro if you get any :)

  393. Edmond Dantes says:

    Till next time Grovers.

I leave you with some words spoken by the Count of Monte Cristo: “Only a man who has felt ultimate despair is capable of feeling ultimate bliss.”

Which hopefully will happen after the Chelsea match. In reference to what happened last season of course at home against them.

  394. Mr B says:

I havent seen much on Cana, Has anyone seen his performances. Sunderland Fans love him, would kill for him. They say he makes them proud to be a sunderland fan that too after 12 games.

  395. dennisdamenace says:

I’d take PV04 back just as a coach, or just to play in training sessions, I think his experience, influence and attitude would be worth his weight in gold to players like Song and Ramsey….

  396. tomstoned says:

    afternoon All…

Thx for the Post Geoff ….the medical room…is an interesting thought…what does happen there and are we among the best in that department ? i dont know..still im happy about the fact that we seem to take problems serious and unlike l’pool f.ex. we do things the right way(Bendtner)…

and it seems that when we think ahead..there are three postions in Our Beloved Arsenal we seem to agree on could be *fixed*a goalie(akinfeev)a cb(who??dont have a clue)a midfielder(Cana..not…i would go for Matuidi)will we buy….seems unlikely…

most probably we will wait for Our youngsters to come trough the ranks…still Wenger does seem to buy one player in every transfer window…who will it be in January…???…

and ooops….yes its another day in Arsenal Paradise…lets enjoy the ride to world Domination :)

    tom

  397. dennisdamenace says:

We don’t have to sell players, AW chooses to let them go, having to sell is a fallacy, just like the one where we have no money to buy players….

  398. Nick says:

DDM spot on in a coaching roll yes, but dont want him dragging himself around the pitch with lesser players running rings round him.

  399. dennisdamenace says:

    Talking of exclusives – Pedrooooooooooo!!

  400. Mr B says:

Tom you dont have to sign each post for us to know its u. just an observation.

  401. insidealbania says:

Pedro reneged on his promise to give us an exclusive.

  402. tomstoned says:

    Mr B mate..

im aware of the fact that it seems …well strange at times :) still im an old man and old habits die hard..some years ago it was taken as a token of respect….its just me…

    tom

  403. ManGoonian says:

Who says Bendy is out for 2 months? I read it as 4 weeks…?

  404. Mr B says:

Tom when did you start getting stoned…in the 60s in which case never mind

  405. tomstoned says:

    ManGoonian..

afternoon mate..well you know us Gooners..and Wenger’s statements…so we’re just adding some weeks to be on the safe side ;) ….he’ll be back long before christmas…

    tom

  406. dennisdamenace says:

Well the prognosis is not good Grovers, according to my chum, when Alex Song knobs off to the ACN our glorious leader will expect a midfield three of Fab4, Diaby and Denilson to be good enough to best the rest of the Premier League…… I could fucking cry sometimes….

  407. ManGoonian says:

    Hey tom!

I just think there’s way too much whingin goin down… If it aint bitchin about injuries, its whingin about not signing anyone… I wouldnt mind, but the window shut 3 months ago! Its time to move on!

  408. tomstoned says:

    Mr B mate..

im not going to answer that one mate…still Misses makes the best omelette in the world and it always leaves me happy as a camper….dont ask what she puts in it…

one time i complained about the food…..and that ill never do again… ;)

    tom

  409. ManGoonian says:

Doris the tea lady doesnt have a clue whats goin on tho

  410. Mr B says:

Well what should we talk about then Mangoonian.

P.S. did u watch the video about obama i posted yesterday. Watch it with an open mind and then u can call me what u want. Ill just say thus Rahm………

  411. tomstoned says:

    well back to work…

have a perfect day in Arsenal Paradise…..MrB,ManGoonian,Dennisdemenace,InsideAlbania,Nick,Pedro,GunnerSmith,Rhyle and all Grovers and Gooners alike….

    tom

  412. Rhyle says:

DDM – no real surprise…disappointment? Yes…but surprise? Nooooo.

Agree that getting PV04 in just as an influence in the dressing room could only be a good thing. He’s the kind of personality the club is sorely lacking – consummate professional, massive appetite for the winning, doesn’t accept mediocrity.

  413. Jaguar says:

All the hard work so far could be undone in Jan,if it happens,DDM.

  414. insidealbania says:

cheers tom, and enjoy the omelet!

  415. insidealbania says:

Mr B, there is no vid, can you post again?

  416. dennisdamenace says:

    I’m afraid so Jag.

For me, Fab4 has a defi ed role in the team. As does Song and even Diaby, Denilson seems to be neither one nor the other for me, the master conductor of crab football….

  417. ManGoonian says:

    Mr B;

I just found it disapointing that you are prepared to buy the bile spouted by Republicans with vested interests, Republicans that are soooo far up the asses of corporations and big business, not to mention Oil companiers and the like…

To call Obama a foil for banks ot whatever is laughable given the history of the last administratiuon.

I found it bery sad and distasteful. Basically theres been a witch hunt against him as he is trying to bring in measures that will obviously upset the big CEOs and their ilk.

The latest Medical measures are a fine example of this.

Given how Bush and his cronies did their best to fuck up the world, not just America, it is laughable that you would post smears like that after the dude has been in office 5 minutes! Completely ignoring what we have had to suffer for the past 8 years..

    I am gutted for you..

  418. ManGoonian says:

    FFS!

Dont mention Diaby! You’ll set Jaguar off!!!

  419. Nick says:

mango you numpty, you missed the core debate today ;)

  420. ManGoonian says:

    Nuck;

What? Tell me Jaguar aint been off on one again has he?

  421. ManGoonian says:

    er, Nick!

  422. Nick says:

DDm what if those two are injured both are fond of the odd injury hardly the reliable type

  423. Jaguar says:

I am not in that mood, MG.I have almost resigned to the fact, that he will play irrespective of what happens.

  424. Nick says:

give the dog a bone :) ….He was on saying how important the roll of diaby could be in our quest for honors ;) na he aint said nothing either way today.

  425. Mr B says:

Point taken. but you have to admit that hos choice of advisors and by that I mean Visors is controdictory his touted policies. It shows that there will not be a great change in the policies despite a chnage in administration. But hey lets give it time and see what happens…

  426. ManGoonian says:

    Nick; :D

Laters dude, Im off… Have fun…

    Jaguar;

    Cheers fella, easy now…

  427. ManGoonian says:

    Mr B;

True. But I am not as naive to think that an American president will not, in some way, be in cahoots with big corps, banks, etc. Just hopefully, he aint up to his neck with em, like Bush was…

Here’s hoping! I think he is the best thing to happen to the US and therefore, the world for a long time… But Im an optimist!

    Cheers buddy, take care…

  428. ManGoonian says:

    Oh, before I go..

Is it true that the ManU home game is the only “big” game we will play without Song?

  429. ManGoonian says:

Fuck it! I’d play Eastmond in there anyways, case solved, move on…

  430. Nick says:

    laters mango…now fuck oooooofffff

  431. maurya says:

I think AW wants to play Eastmond as RB. Considering his attacking options, he might flag off Ebou and some younger player as back up RB to Sagna.

  432. choy says:

How long will song be gone for ?

    Two months?

  433. dennisdamenace says:

Nick – Agreed fella, on top of everything else, fitness reliabilty isn’t something you would readily associate with either of those two!

  434. SharkeySure says:

Choy I think thats six weeks max, with an early release and based on Cameroon reaching the final.

Someone said that the release dates can be a bit negotiable though

  435. insidealbania says:

Lets hope cameroon get knocked out at the group stages and Ivory Coast go to the final with Ghana. And Essien goes for a hard tackle on Drogba resulting in the latter breaking his leg and the former busting his knee.

  436. SharkeySure says:

    Good shout that inside

  437. insidealbania says:

Thanks sharkey, I am guessing that like me, you dont have a problem wishing ill on rival/cunt players.

  438. JR's Ghost says:

Lovely piece, Geoff. You have to admit the irony in your discussing the replacement of Song from the standpoint of seeing him as a positive force in the team. Perhaps you should consider as such a replacement the player most responsible for Arsenal’s unbeaten string last season — Denilson. And humbly accept that you used to lump the two together in their equal worthlessness to the team.

If Song were injured for two months, Arsenal would be able to manage it. I’m not sure if that’s true for Gallas and the Vermanator, and would rather see Arsene spring for another body there, if anywhere.

  439. Pedro says:

The Boston resident who saw his recent copyright claim against Bon Jovi dismissed is appealing the verdict.

Samuel Bartley Steele claims the band ripped off his song ‘(Man I Really) Love This Team’ for their own number ‘I Love This Town’. He made the claim with regards to his song about the Boston Red Sox baseball team against the band, Time Warner and Major League Baseball organisation last year. He was seeking $400 billion (£240 billion) compensation.

Ambitious… more money than the British paid out for the Banking bail out!

  440. SharkeySure says:

Well sort of Inside…I try not to wish ill on anyone if I can….but in love, war and football, allowances must be made !!!

  441. insidealbania says:

well said mate, I am off. So as tomstoned says : have a great time in Arsenal paradise.

  442. Nick says:

well fuck all this working for a living malerky :) wheres everybody gone???

  443. Pedro says:

Inside, I kind of worry that when tom says things like that, he’s planning some sort of Jihadi football suicide bombing in a London bar or something…

I hope no ones telling him he’ll get 100 gonnerettes in paradise if he does it! haha!

Nick, work is shite really… I’ve just realised that I take better notes at Arsenal AGM’s, than when I’m in a business meeting! Dear oh dear…

  444. Nick says:

KIERAN GIBBS will run out at Wembley on Saturday and perhaps be wondering what is going to happen next in his rollercoaster year.

The Gunners’ left-back started 2009 as a player unknown even to many Arsenal fans, and yet he heads into the final international weekend of the year with rumours circulating of him being an unlikely call-up to Fabio Capello’s World Cup squad.

For now the 20-year-old remains in the Under-21 squad that will take on Portugal at Wembley this weekend and then Lithuania on Tuesday, but Capello has made no secret that Gibbs is on his radar, and could sneak in as understudy to Ashley Cole in the party for next summer’s finals.

Unsurprisingly the 20-year-old was keen to downplay that possibility when the Gazette caught up with him this week, and insists it is his form for Arsenal that is more important to him at the moment than an outside chance of going to South Africa next year.

“To be honest I don’t want to get my hopes up about it and think about it too much,” says Gibbs.

“I said before I don’t want to be going into the World Cup on somebody else’s disappointment if there’s injuries. I want to be going because I deserve it.

“At the moment I don’t deserve it because I haven’t had the experience. I’ve only had a few games and I don’t want to get ahead of myself. I just want to wait and see what happens this season before I think about the national team.”

So would he rather be heading to Doha with the full team than playing for the young Lions this weekend?

“Wembley is Wembley and the full squad is the full squad,” he says cryptically. “It’s a dream to be anywhere near the bench for the full squad. It’s fantastic.”

Fantastic and a little far-fetched if you turn the clock back eight months to March when Gibbs, then 19, had only made Carling Cup and FA Cup appearances for Arsenal, and his only taste of league football had come in a loan spell at Norwich City.

That was to change in April when Gael Clichy injured his back and was ruled out for the rest of the season.

The teenager was in and his first game was a Carling Cup quarter-final against Villarreal, while his 10 remaining matches of the season included three games with Manchester United (including both legs of a Champions League semi-final), two games with Chelsea (including an FA Cup semi-final) and the epic 4-4 game with Liverpool at Anfield. Then followed a summer reaching the final of the Euro 2009 final with the Under-21s.

Quite a baptism. And Gibbs admits that three games marking Cristiano Ronaldo was an education in itself.

“It was all good experience for me. World class players like Ronaldo – it’s going to teach anybody playing against him. I learnt a lot against him.

“I feel stronger now and I know my position better because I only started to play there last season. I feel more and more comfortable as I keep playing. ”

Gibbs is set to keep playing for Arsenal now that Clichy has again succumbed to back problems, and the feeling this time is that if Gibbs steps up and impresses, the left-back slot could be his for keeps.

“Obviously it’s disappointing for Gael, but hopefully, it’s a chance for me to get in the team and get some games,” adds Gibbs, who believes the Gunners can continue their impressive form this season.

“I’m very confident but I don’t want to be the one coming out saying we’re going to win this, we’re going to win that because that’s not really my thing.

“We’ll just wait and see what happens. I’m just very happy and I love playing for the team.

  445. Gunnersmith says:

Anybody seen the news about the German Goal Keeper that committed suicide sad sad day in football

  446. Nick says:

Gibbs well done mate keep that attitude and you will go far best thing out of wimbledon since winterburn :)

  447. Nick says:

wow kelly brook looks fit as in that photo shoot wow :dribble dribble: :)

  448. chris says:

Young Guns reports on a 180cm 16 year old jetting in for a trial at
    http://youngguns.wordpress.com/2009/11/11/marinkovic-jets-in-for-second-arsenal-trial/

Like Angha, Monterio and Hajrovic, Marinkovic is Swiss-born but he can claim Serbian nationality through his parents.

    Trivial Pursuit Question:
Which premier league club has 6 Swiss centre halves on its books?

  449. gooby says:

well said gibbs, keep it up gunner!

  450. Chipo says:

Pedro, have BBK and the other doom&gloomer (what’s his name Jonno or something)been on here recently?

I love it how when everything is fine they say nothing.

Watch how as soon as we lose a couple (hopefully never) they are back on in a flash!

    :-)

    I HATE THE INTERNATIONAL BREAK!

  451. ManGoonian says:

    Nick;

Way to go! So, someone showed you how to copy and paste!

Erm… what photo shoot with Kelly Brook???

  452. Stu says:

Tis indeed sad about Enke. He was deeply depressed unfortunately.

  453. Pedro says:

Chipo, BBK is on here everyday…!

Jimbo isn’t… he’ll stay away until the summer, or a dip in form.

  454. B.B.K. says:

yo chipo whats good son hows things fella

  455. Jaguar says:

Do I belong to that list,Pedro?

  456. Pat says:

Drogba out of Ivory coast game

  457. Mr B says:

    pat with what?

  458. ManGoonian says:

Yeah Jaguar… You belong on that list!

  459. Pat says:

    Bosingwa out for 3 months

  460. finestcuts says:

Arsenal ladies beat Sparta Prague today…..good news eh……so anyone here fancy Eboue for the Ballon D’Or?

  461. ManGoonian says:

Boswinger out for 3 months? Blimey. Hopefully Cashley, Drogba and John “I can handball, foul to hearts content in the box” Terry will fuck themselves up for a few months too…

Well, it would happen, if there is any justice in this world, which there aint, but I still thought I’d say it anyways, so I did, which was nice, so there you go…

  462. Pat says:

If Bosinwga, Cashley and Drogba are all out, we’ll win

Otherwise, its too close to call.

    Almunia
    Sagna Gallas Verm Gibbs
    Cesc Song Nasri/Diaby
    Rosicky RVP Arshavin

  463. reggie57 says:

Jon (im thick as shit)Terry said it will be interesting how arsenal cope when they get a few injurys

A bit like wallcott, rosicky, eduardo, nasri, bendy, clichy, enough players there for you jon you thick uncouth cunt!!!

  464. choy says:

Drogba just has a bruise no?

  465. ManGoonian says:

Yeah reggie reg… Like we havent suffered enough with injuries this season, already eh?

I make it about 10 or 11 1st teamers out with long term injuries…

I want Drogba fit, Vermilli will smash the diving feigning injury scum bag to pieces I tell thee!

  466. A says:

Is Bendtner actually out for at least two months? Where is that from – I read that he’s out for 3-4 weeks after the surgery which occurred on Tuesday?? Even if he was out for 2 months how would Chamakh make any difference, he wouldn’t play a Prem game before Bendtner is back?!

  467. ManGoonian says:

uncouth cunt!!! Haha! Yes indeedy reg!

Almunia, Fabianski, Djourou, Clichy, Diaby, Denilson, Rosicky, Theo, Bendy, Eduardo, Vela, Nasri, Wilshire… All been out, or are still out for a few weeks or more….

  468. ManGoonian says:

    A;

    Its 4 weeks, tops mate.

  469. ManGoonian says:

As for Chamakh, if we didnt sign him in the summer, I dont see us goin for him in Jan. If we get him, it will be on a free next summer, and unless he has already verbally agreed, that might not even happen. The way other teams are desperate for strikers, I can see a few more teams coming in for him, offering loads more wages, bigger signing on fees, etc…

  470. ManGoonian says:

And talkin of free transfers… Apparantly Hangeland is available on a free next summer… Now, him and Chamakh would be 2 effin blinding free transfers. Having Gallas, Vermilli, Hangeland and Djourou as our 4 CBs would be fan-fookin-tastic!

  471. ManGoonian says:

But neither will happen, of course…

  472. choy says:

    We don’t need a striker anyway….

Arsh, Edu, Nasri, Rosicky, Theo, Vela, Watt, Wilshere all vying for the two spots

  473. choy says:

Is hangeland not signing a new deal?

    I thought he did?

  474. A says:

ah ok, good good mang, that’s what I thought! Not ideal but not a massive deal!

  475. ManGoonian says:

    choy;

Well, we may not need a striker, I know, but to have someone to play that target man role as well as RvP wouldnt be such a bad thing now! And on a gree would definitely appeal to Wenger!

Im also pretty sure Hangeland aint signed a new deal either… But I can imagine Liverpool goin in for him….

  476. ManGoonian says:

    gree = free

  477. choy says:

Or maybe wenger’s had a word with chamakh and hangeland.. sounds wengerish to me..

    Both on a free eh?

  478. ManGoonian says:

Ha, would be some serious business!

  479. ManGoonian says:

    A;

I would like someone to come in, in January, but I am not sure it would happen. During Song’s absence, do you think Eastmond might be drafted into the squad to play there, as well as Denilson, of course?

  480. A says:

Wenger already said we weren’t going back in for Chamakh either in Jan or in the summer didn’t he??

Hangeland is a bit old for us imo, want someone same age and as good as vermaelen but right sided so they can be the central defence partnership for the next decade!

Carlton Cole to Liverpool would be interesting, very underrated player imo

  481. A says:

I dunno Mang – he could do, may depend on how he does from now until then training with the first team. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone like Matuidi came in, the way Wenger talks about Song as a centre back makes me think he’s keeping space open for someone else as a DM, dunno if Eastmond or Coquelin are that close

  482. ManGoonian says:

Hangeland is too old?? Thats crazy talk! If we were talkin about having to splash £10m on him then I’d say yeah, you are right. But on a free? No chance fella! Same goes with Chamakh. Just coz Wenger saud he aint goin back in for him, means very little. How often is he truthful, or open about transfer dealings…?

As for carlton Cole… He is distinctly average, patchy and very poor technically. Perfect for Liverpool then!

  483. A says:

If Gallas left then I wouldn’t be against Hangeland coming in, but as Wenger says he doesn’t believe in rotating centre backs, and when Gallas goes I expect someone to come in there who’s going to develop a partnership and understanding with Vermaelen over a good few years. I don’t think Hangeland would go to a club where he’d be sub.

I also don’t particularly rate him, does very well in the very deep lying system that Fulham play, but his lack of pace would be highlighted massively playing for us in a very high line.

However not talking about him specifically, when Gallas is done I’d rather someone Vermy’s age replaces him, rather than a 29/30 year old.

Gotta disagree about Cole, incredibly strong, and very underrated intelligence and technique. Superb link man, his build up play is fantastic at times, finishing is a tad dodgy though it’s certainly improved now. He’d be great foil for Torres imo, he’d do for him what people want Heskey to do for Rooney and England, and claim he does, but weigh in with more goals.

  484. A says:

Chamakh I agree, though only if someone leaves, we’ve already got too many forward players when everyone’s fit, and I don’t see anyone leaving!

Disagree about Hangeland mate. Saw him close up when we played Fulham. Doesnt seem too slow to me. After this season, who knows if gallas will stay another year? I just see it as very good business though.

Cannot agree on Cole, even at his best, he aint good enough. Ashton is/was a player I rated a lot more. Pity his injuries have fucked him up…

  486. A says:

Yeah Ashton was an amazing player, massive fan of his, real pity he’s done now. Cole wasn’t in Ashton’s class, but is just a better version of Heskey in his prime imo, makes life very difficult for defenders and surprisingly good touch for a player like him.

Yeah if Gallas refused to sign a new contract and we hadn’t found a long term replacement Hangeland would be a stop gap who would be cost effective. I saw him get raped in pre season by two nippy forwards at Peterborough, and granted it was just pre season, but his lack of pace, or more specifically real lack of acceleration illustrated for me what would happen if he was at us, spending most of his time defending having to turn and chase people when they broke against us, he’d be left for dead imo.

For Fulham he never ever has to do that, because they sit so deep, the whole game happens in front of him, and he’s a very good reader of the game and powerful, but if he played in a team which dominated a game, as Fulham did against Posh, his size and lack of acceleration would be a real problem imo, just as Senderos’ was for us, and from what I’ve seen I reckon Sendy is quicker

It would be great fun watching Verminator kicking the shit out of that diving cheating scumbag Drogba. It could be a forced injury because he doesnt want to play agaisnt Verminator.

  489. Pat says:

I wouldn’t be so confident about Verm shutting down Drogba, although I do think he’s capable.

I’ve noticed that aggressive defenders usually dominate both Ade and Drogba.

We MUST, absolutely MUST be aware of long hoofs upfield.

Yesterday saw a bloc of 32 Arsenal Holdings shares traded off-market. I think it’s reasonable to assume that Alisher Usmanov’s Red & White Holdings Ltd was the buyer. Stan Kroenke’s SKE (UK) Inc is at 29.9% and won’t want to trigger a mandatory bid at the moment. Red & White Holdings, as it doesn’t have a seat on the board only has to publicly declare movements in its holdings in the club up or down by one percent. Red & White declared going over the 25% threshold back in February and it’s known they’ve been active in the market since. Expect an announcement that they’ve gone over 26% soon. Interesting the quoted share price on the PLUS market has slackened a little by £400 a share to £8,850 from £9,250. The market price is however a notoriously bad guide in the case of Arsenal Holdings shares as there are only 62,217 of them in issue and 88% of those are in four hands (Danny Fiszman, Alisher Usmanov, Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith and Stan Kroenke). The trading is so thin that tiny movements can cause huge swings in the quoted share price.

Im going to put this out there even though some of you will probably think Im retarted: I think theres a possibility of Wenger buying even 2-3 players in January, I would say, one attacking player, one CB, and maybe a cdm. My reasoning: Rosicky and Arshavin are old, Rosicky has had a hard time getting fit again, Eduardo has been in and out of fitness, walcott gets healthy just to get injured again. I know we have the likes of Vela/nikki/wilshire, but with the phat bank we have right now and the potential of losing rosicky on a free, he could very well buy Turan, Hazard, even Ozil I heard. With Gallas old, Senderos out of favor, and shitvestre extra shitty, Wenger must see that he either needs to buy a CB to partner Verminator in the future, or convert Song to CB and buy a CDM. I think Song has sealed his midfield spot so I would expect a CB to come in.
I could see Wenger buying before selling so as not to sell and then expose himself as desperate to find replacements and get worse bargains.
I dont know, maybe Im just rambling… I mean, we do have a shit load of money from Adefuckhore, and Toure, and all the profits…
