Arsenal romp to victory!

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Ok, so I ended up watching the match in some Soho bar, dressed as the mad hatter. My report will be strictly note form today, exactly as I saw the match. Apologies for the lack of craft, this is totally blackberry!

Notes:

Scored more goals than we’ve scored before, but conceded the most in our Premier League history.

Rambo starts the game ahead of Song because Wenger wants to give him a run out. Geoff predicted correctly!

Wolves make the first chance of the game with a looping kevin doyle header. Gibbs cleared off the line.

Ebanks Blake gets a header off from a corner that fizzed past Almunia’s near post.

Wolves were playing a high line which Van the man nearly exploited.

Eduardo had a shout for a penalty turned down. What a joke, it was a nailed on one. Match of the day of course didn’t show that one.

Wolves continued to exploit us aerially. They had a game plan, and it was doing well. Diaby took a few minutes out to allow us to gain composure… I hoped! Song took his place, then I realised it wasn’t a a cunning Diaby plan. This team amendment would hopefully allow Rambo the chance to get forward.

Arsenal picked up a free kick after Eduardo was cynically shoved over. RVP fizzed in the free kick…it missed everyone and went in off Zubar. I jumped up, saw Eduardo waving his finger…assumed it was disallowed, thankfully it was just an admittance that the goal wasn’t his. Arsenal were undeservedly ahead.

Arsenal started to dominate.

Song broke up play in the middle, laid it off to Rambo whose pace allowed him to beat his man, he then  passed to Eduardo who with one touch, chipped Hennesey in stunning fashion, well maybe a tiny deflection.

Sagna won the ball in his own half and gave it to Cesc, who then passed it back to Sagna, who elegantly chipped the ball to Van persie, who stunned the ball to Cesc, who buried it inside Henneseys near post. Fab-ulous stuff. Sagna loves an assist lately, eh?

The second half started slowly. I did wonder to myself why Rambo didn’t start ahead of Diaby? Song was reassuring in the middle, cleaning up like Ashley Cole in a room full of ugly hair dressers. Aaron Ramsey was a touch unpredictable in the first half, but going forward he looked every bit the player we’d hoped for.

Gibbs was booked for a challenge he tried to pull out of…  …harsh in my opinion.

Arshavin scored our fourth after he buried the punch out back into the net from twenty yards out, super, super strike.

Arsenal dominated the rest of the game until the 89th minute when I said to my friend,

‘This is when we concede’

Sure enough, we gave away a needless corner, Vermaelen lost his marker and Wolves nabbed their consolation goal. I had a disagreement with a few of the grovers about late goals. My view is if you concede enough of them, it becomes a mental issue. I think its apparent we have a problem now, it doesn’t bode well for the big games does it? 4 late goals in 5 games, very upsetting from a perfectionist point of view.

Conclusion.

Superb play at times after a shaky start, who cares though, we are second, and if today is a draw, we can go top by beating the chavs, so after much soul searching, I asked the postmeister Geoff for his opinion on the ideal result, and we both agreed a draw would suit, a nil, nil one, followed by 4 sendings off for violent conduct.

Have a super Sunday and let’s hope for the perfect result to finish off a great weekend.

luke not the same job, but an adequate job in there whilst Song is away, different types of players but Denilson will break up the play and distribute simply as Song does.

Pat Bent has gone back to being shite again, last couple of games he’s been shocking, his goalscoring run has ended, hope I don’t get made to eat my words but I’m not worried about him at all. Reid isn’t someone we should be worried about either, and defensively they’re dodgy, I reckon we should be ok, just gotta hope players are fresh and fit after the internationals! If Mexico don’t have a game I wonder if Vela will play for the reserves on Thursday

  2. A

Guessing if Denilson isn’t returning to full training until next week he won’t play in the reserve game, or did Wenger mean he’d be available from next week?

  3. Ja_Gunner

A I feel Denilson can make his comeback against Man city in the CC….

Or maybe Wenger wont want him to come back for a knock out type game…..if not I can see him coming back in for the Olympiakos game…which is the 9th of December….

Hopefully we would have beat Liege and sealed up first spot…

Against Olympiakos we could play a midfield of

    …………………..Denilson…………………..
    ………Rasmey…………………….Merida……..

He could probably come on for 30 mins against Liege..

I doubt Wenger would play him against Chelsea having just come back…

  4. Gunnersmith

AndAPrayer……………..Denilshit is never on the same par with Song he’s too flexible and lacks pace and agility i’d rather have a new DM brought in than playing Denilshit a has DM he’s better of as part of the midfield playing the Diaby role

And Ole ‘Paddy’ is not the answer 8-0

  5. Samir

    Team for Sunderland.

    ______Amunia_______
    Sagna–Gallas-Vermy–Gibbs
    _____Ramsey–Nasri________
    _______Fabregas___________
    Rosicky–RVP–Arshavin

    Team for Standard Liege:

    ___________Mannone___________
    Eboue–Senderos–Silvestre–Traore
    _____Eastmond–Coquein__
    __________Merida__________
    Wilshere–Eduardo–Vela

We need to rest players for the Cheslea game and we are basically in the next round of CL so……

  6. Ja_Gunner

Has Nasri been called to replace Diaby?

Just curious….I hear he is out for 3 weeks..which means he wont play against Sunderland….

He would be back for Chelsea….

So if this is the case…it means Song will have to play against Sunderland….I just hope he doesnt need to make a wild tackle..

    Against Sunderland we could play….

    …………………….Song……………………
    …….Cesc…………………………Nasri…….

Nasri should have a good rest as long he is not Diaby’a replacement for France…

  7. A

Not play Song against Sunderland Samir?! We’d be murdered! Ramsey couldn’t cut it as a DM against Wolves, sunderland are much better. Swap Song for Ramsey though and I reckon you might be spot on as long as people don’t get injured on international duty.

Absolutely no way we’ll play our league cup team against Liege, we may rest some players, but no way the whole side. Maybe rest one of the centre backs, cesc, vp, arshavin, for senderos, ramsey, eduardo, vela/merida/wilshere, but I’d be surprised if the likes of Eastmond, Mannone and Coquelin started

  8. ManGoonian

I think after Denilson got injured this season, we missed him actually. He added more solidity to the team. Calling him Denilshit is very unfair and patently disagree with it!

Pires has just scored a nice goal…

  9. A

Yeah possibly ja regarding den playing against city, could well be his first start, have to see if he’s in the squad for next week. If Song got booked against Sunderland then Denilson would play against Chelsea. Though perhaps if Denilson looks good in training, and he’ll be fresh as not off anywhere in international week he could start against Sunderland so Song could get a rest

  10. ManGoonian

I thought Ramsey did OK vs Wolves A. I don’t think the team as a whole started the game very slowly and tha is why, added with the urgnecy shown by the home side, we looked like we could get over run. However, we didn’t and ramsey did OK for me.

    And

I am sure JT’s dad sold me sum shit charlie for £45, the robbing twat!

  11. ManGoonian

    A;

I also think you are giving Sunderland too much respect. They can be very ropey. Not saying it’ll be easy, but I think we will have enough for them, whoever plays.

Well, that’s assuming we don’t lose any more players to injury…

  12. Gunnersmith

One thing everybody have not been noticing around here is that Arshavin is slowly getting back to his last season form, he’s been involved more in play getting into scoring positions and he has started to blend more into our syle of play. i think the guy has been given too much sticks and now that he’s playing well and scoring goals he should get his deserved praises

  13. Gunnersmith

ManGoonian its suicidal not playing song against Sunderland but i agree that he should be dropped he’s one card away from suspension and it’ll be very costly if he were to miss out on the Chavs game

  14. A

Mang Ramsey had a good game, but when Ramsey was playing as a DM before Song came on, although he tried hard, he was pulled all over the place and out of position a lot of the time, and they totally bossed the midfield, we couldn’t get the ball back etc. When Song came on so he moved further forward into the Diaby role he was much more comfortable.

Watching the game looking specifically at Ramsey trying to be a DM it really didn’t work and he didn’t fulfil his defensive duties.

I’m not giving sunderland credit either – not particularly worried about them, but they’re a level above Wolves, and if their midfield overran us with Ramsey as DM then Sunderland’s would to a greater extent imo

  15. Ja_Gunner

Well if Deni could make an early comeback and play against Sunderland…that would be good..

Against Liege I expect a strong team…so that we can secure first place in the group with a win….

    I would play…………..

    ……………………..Al……………………
    Eboue……….Gallas/Senderos………..Vermy……..Gibbs
    …………………….Denilson……………………..
    ….Ramsey……………………………..Nasri………
    ..Rosiky……………..Eddie…………………Vela….

Or start Cesc and pull him off at 60 min…..when the job is done…

  16. ManGoonian

    A;

Maybe I wasn’t concentrating on ramsey as much as you did. And maybe, it looked differently at the game, but for me, he was not noticeably poor, perhaps he was guilty of trying too hard, trying to do everything?

But the whloe team were swanning around like it was a warm up session and none of them showed the same urgency as Wolves and that is why we loooked like we were getting over run.

QWhereas, even during this time, i was NEVER EVER worried about us winning the game.

  17. A

Ja that’s the team I’d play too, though maybe stick in Merida or Wilshere for Rosicky keep him fresh for Chelsea and play him against Sunderland

  18. Gunnersmith

    Another Crazy jibber

Andrei Arshavin has played down Arsenal’s resounding victory over Wolves stating on his site that class showed in the end:

“I believe that today we can not say that Arsenal had a remarkable game. It’s just that the class of players in our team is much higher.

“We took advantage of those moments that we created on the counterattack. These attacks ended up as goals. In the second half we calmly brought the game to a victorious close”

He also revealed that the Arsenal players are always having a laugh when on the move but not at Gallas’s expense as he tends to sit alone on the team bus!

“William, our number ten- no one is allowed to sit next to him” he said

    We wonder why.

  19. A

Yeah Mang it was just defensively that he was poor, or just not good, he was never in the right positions, didn’t have any discipline and he was desperate to do his job defensively but as you say he tried too hard and was just running for the ball whenever they came over the half way line leaving alot of space where he was meant to be and they exploited it.

I agree too – even though we were being overrun a bit even then I really wasn’t worried about us winning, our players were always going to be too good for wolves

  20. A

Yeah Mang, which would be a week tomorrow, though Wenger’s actual phrasing was “he’s back in the second week of international duty” so maybe he’s already in full training and will just be considered for selection from then?! Prob not though

  21. ManGoonian

Hope you are right there A about Denilson.

If Wernger wanted to try ramsey in the holding role, must mean they have tried it in training and therefore AW must’ve seen enough to think Rmasey could do a job. I think given time he may fit that bill as well as his more offensive qualities. Trying in him in games like yestrday will hopefully mean we still win em and Ramsey gets to grips with the position…?

  22. b

i still think moaning is the answear. Players like diaby preform better if we moan about how crap he is. I mean the more grief we give the better they play right?

  23. ManGoonian

The 2 young players, Afobe & Aneke, asked to go to barca (allegedly) played for the Academy team on saturday. Does that mean they aint goin to Catalunya?

  24. AndAPrayer

Have to say I didn’t think Ramsey was even poor defensively, as in he made a fair few tackles and broke up play quite well, it’s just that he doesn’t play the same way as Song or naturally take up the same positions as Song does and that unbalanced our midfield compare to its normal fluency.

That and the fact the Wolves worked just about as hard as anyone has all season to shut us down.

  25. ManGoonian

Young Guns was saying he was going, but i aint heard anything more on it. But if he did or didnt, he played for us Saturday, so does that mean he is staying put Pat?

  26. ManGoonian

    AndAPrayer;

Yeah thats how I saw it. I think Wolves started like a train, at a tempo that they just could not keep up for long. And I imagine that was when they were hoping to get a goal then, but they didnt.

We started very slowly and Ramsey did OK for me, considering….

  27. Pat

I don’t know Mang. Young Guns said he was going just to have a look around. Aneke was never going to go cause he wants to stay. I really hope we hang on to Afobe.

  28. SUGA3

    evening all ;)

I would really consider playing Senderos in DM v Sunderland – my point is that he could do well with his good positioning, presence and heading ability…

if you consider that he would have Vermaelen & Gallas behind him he could do well, plus he is itching to play and would play out of his skin against players like Cana and no Jones…

  29. A

I dunno Mang – Wenger said he’s only just getting to his top condition.

I reckon Ramsey was tried out against Wolves to see whether he could provide cover there, before Wenger gets the cheque book out in January, and the likes of Senderos or Eastmond could get a go there before the turn of the year too.

  30. SUGA3

Wenger wanted to give Song a chance to improve his consistency by playing him week in week out – Senderos played DM in one of the preseason games and looked quite lively: thing is he wins 7 headers out of 10 (the remaining few may be sorted by TV) and has quite a tidy pass on him, both short and long, defo worth a shout…

  31. ManGoonian

    Suga3;

Yeah, I forgot that Senderos was played a few times at DM, during pre-season…

I wouldn’t have a problem with him there for the Sunderland game. I just don’t see Wenger doing it now. You never know though…?

  32. SUGA3

I like Sendy a lot, he has a lot of fight and is surprinigly quick for a big fella…

being part of THAT defence playing in the CL 2006 campaign must count for something as well ;)

  33. A

Man I reckon it’ll depend on whether he decides the likes of Ramsey/Senderos/Eastmond are capable of stepping in if Song and Denilson got injured

  34. ManGoonian

    A;

Maybe he will? If the interest in melo was as strong as Fiorentina would have us believe, then Wenger really wanted a DM…

Eastmond did well vs Liverpool and ramsey, to some, did not… But I’d say it was too early to make a call on either of them…

  35. SUGA3

with Cana playing we need a big lump to kick the ideas of kicking us to the fuck out of him too…

    A,

out of these 5 you listed only Song & Senderos have enough presence to match the likes of Essien or even Cana for physicality IMO…

  36. ManGoonian

Cana hardly seemed intimidating when I have seen him man. I dont agree we need a big lump to nullify him. As long as all the players work hard, show commitment and keep their shape, we can turn em over. Even if Wenger played Vela in the DM role!

  37. A

Mang I wouldn’t say that he REALLY wanted a DM, but was certainly open to signing one if someone he rated became available. I agree far too early to make a call about either of them, there’s a long time until January 31st anyways!

I agree SUGA3, but it isn’t about physicality imo, it’s a plus, but not a necessity. We don’t need or want someone to kick the fuck out of him in my eyes, we just need someone who’s going to be defensively disciplined and be in the right place at the right time, read the game well.

  38. Samir

We should splash the cash and go for both Subotić and Inler.
They would tighten us up defensively also adding some height to the team.

  39. SUGA3

just like Sendy does, A ;)

he is a very intelligent player and cool reassurance of TV and Willy behind him would give him freedom to express himself the way Song does…

    MG,

I know you don’t buy into theories of playing defensively minded players in the defensive positions, but without someone slightly bigger and more disciplined there we will get overrun like we were for some 20 minutes against Wolves – Wolves, for fuck’s sake…

  40. A

SUGA3 disciplined and defensive minded yet, not bigger though, that really isn’t a necessity…. Denilson will do well in that role when he’s back, though I still reckon someone could come in in jan

  41. Samir

Against Sunderland I would put Senderos in there as DM actually.
Wenger could tell Nasri to stay back and give him a hand.
Once we are 1 or 2 up we will be in second gear and control the game from there.
Nasri could then go forward more and Sendy could do it himself!

  42. Goonerman

Apparently, below are a couple of comments from a Citeh blog:

Quote – “Adebayor looked off the pace and lazy today. I hope those Arsenal fans weren’t right about him.”

Quote – “I was screaming at the screen today…Adebayor just didn’t want to move, it was infuriating!! I just wish he’d shut up, he talks in the media all week about Arsenal then performs like that again. He needs to get over Arsenal and focus on us.”

  43. Ja_Gunner

I should have watched the Lyon vs Marseille game…

It ended 5-5….what a game that would have been to watch…would have been much better than watching

    the Chelsea Manure game earlier….

I know the best result for us was a draw but I am kinda glad Chelsea won….because Manure dont deserve to be above us…even if we are a game behind…

They have got so many points they should not have already this season..

    Lets review them….

    1. Against us, at most they should have got 1 point, -2
    2. Against City they should have got 1 point, -2
    3. Against Sunderland they should have lost, -1

Manure should really be on 20 points right now…

They are no better than Man City….

We have our own destiny in our hands when we play Chelsea..

  44. ManGoonian

    Suga3;

What is your problem? Why are you getting all tetchy?

When did I say I didnt want defensive minded players in there? Or do you think i was being serious when I said vela could play in the role???

  45. Samir

    Haaaaa Haaa.
    That’s interesting stuff Gonnerman.
Ade will soon be sold off back to a crappy team. What a dumb bugger he really is…..

  46. Honest Bill

We will most likely see a combination of Diaby/Denilson playing the holding role in Song’s absence. I think we’ll cope

  47. ManGoonian

Even with a nominally testing injury list, they possess a greater depth of talent and they look better — tactically and in terms of team spirit — for the departure of Emmanuel Adebayor.

Van Persie’s maturing into the pivotal central striker in a 4-3-3 formation is clearly working. Possessing a more velvet touch than Adebayor, he keeps the inter-passing slick, while his movement off the ball brings the best from the offensive midfield players.

Missing Adebayor, then, one inquisitor asked? Wenger just smiled. He could afford to.
    _________________________
    Thats from the Times….

Boy have these fuckers have changed their tunes…

  48. gnarleygeorge9

So, 3 points @ Sunderland is an absolute must, then 3 @ home next time round & The Arsenal go top. But still have to wait for internationals week to pass

  49. Ja_Gunner

If Alex Ferguson really said this…he is utterly pathetic and I hope Manure wins nothing more for atleast five years..

That fucker Sir Alex claimed that Manure dominated the game….He makes me sick

Ferguson stopped short of blaming Atkinson for his side’s defeat, which leaves them trailing leaders Chelsea by five points.

He said: “That goal should never have been allowed. We’ve dominated the game. We’ve had great chances to win the match, and that’s our fault.

“We had great opportunities to get to the edge of the box and some really good chances in and around the box, but we should be finishing it off. We’ve only ourselves to blame in that respect. But you do need a break – and we never got the break we needed.”

  50. gnarleygeorge9

    Ja

I don’t think the biggest bottle of single malt in the world will be able to dull SAF’s mood. Though he better save it for when The Arsenal win The Title. He’ll need it.

  51. zeus

These fucking Manc are a piece of work aren’t they?

Ahead of today’s game I had several concerns about how we were going to get on. I was worried that we were going to get outpassed in midfield. I worried that Didier Drogba would have too much for our third and fourth choice central defenders. I was worried after the less than passionate display against Liverpool that our players would struggle again to get themselves up for a big game.

Foolishly, I didn’t take in to consideration the most important thing which would eventually lead to our downfall today.

    The referee.”

I guess the 6 mins extra time they are so used to came back to bite them in the arse.

  52. zeus

Do you guys think that the refs are giving decisions against Man Utd because Red Nose had such a strong go at wiley about his fitness?

  53. SUGA3

jeez, MG, I am just pulling your leg, no need to get agitated – of course I could not imagine you thinking another midget in our midfield may be a good idea ;)

  54. SUGA3

    A,

size DOES matter in that position – I like Denilson but he is lightweight as fuck and – again – not enough in the defending department to really cut it there…

I was crying out for a monster and Song became one, but we need another one and playing Phil there would kill two birds with one stone – cover for Song as well as match fitness, focus and sense of purpose for Phil…

  55. A

Gotta disagree SUGA, Denilson is lacking physically, but reads the game defensively much better than any other player in the squad, and provides protection for the back four, just in a different way to Song. As a unit if he played and Diaby didn’t we’d be a bit unbalanced with a lack of power against tough opposition but with Diaby in the team we’d be fine imo.

  56. Ja_Gunner

I guess thats the so called “winning mentality”

Blame the refs whenever you lose…

I wonder if Sir Alex saw the karate kick landed by Evans into Drogba’s chest…

Has he lost faith in referrees because of that as well?

    He makes me sick…

The fucker was laughing and jumping up and down when the ref gave him 5 mins 30 secs to beat Man City when the oficial signalled for 4 mins..

  57. A

size matters in terms of balance overall for the midfield as a whole, but not just for a dm. Think about makalele, mascherano, it isn’t a necessity

  58. gnarleygeorge9

Look @ Le Gaffer, hungry for trophys, keen to see his project through, says he wants to die @ The Arsenal, etc. Then you have SAF, looking like & carrying on like he is in the Autumn of his cycle. He knows his club is financially a ticking time bomb, his party is winding up. The big test now for him is when to go graciously, & not to go out like a miserable old fart as he seems to be.

The chelski boss Anchovie is a novice @ this cut & thrust league. He’s not managing a chess team like those boring comps, La Liga & Serie A.

  59. SUGA3

    perhaps he should, MG…

or perhaps not, having Senderos itching to play…

    A,

Denilson and Diaby in the same midfield?

    God. Help. Us. All.

  60. Ja_Gunner

I hope we can come back and beat Sunderland…..

And also I want Everton to to fuck up united at Old Toilet…..

  61. SUGA3

yeah, but taking into the account the fact that Willy and TV are not the tallest and some of our attackers are lacking height as well, putting a bigger player rather than lightweight Denilson exposed by Diaby with his nonexistent defensive discipline…

not with the games played when Song is away

  62. zeus

I hate when we have to go away from home when we return from Intern. duty. That game is a potential banana skin for us.

  63. bk

who else thinks john terry is a dirty cheating bastard.
fuck me if i was utd fan i would be savage! he is the exact same as caragher, pretending to be clumsy…being english is a big leg up in the epl

  64. bk

and gooby they [the media]dont make a big deal about it unless its a foreingher like any fucking arsenal player. cunts the lot of them

  65. gooby

yeah bk, and i’ve noticed something this week end. everyone still talking about 5 points gap between the macs and the chavs and discussing there “two horse race”

the media didn’t see we are 2nd, so we are behind the leaders now

  66. Ja_Gunner

    bk

Why did you want a Manure victory?

The best result was a draw….after that a Chelsea win…

Because we will have our chance to deal with Chelsea soon..

Those fucking dirty Mancs along with Sir Alex dont deserve to be above us in the table…even with a game in hand…they have been poor this year and should be on 20 points in my opinion…

  67. A

I’ve gotta disagree Ja – for me it was a draw then utd win, the one result we didn’t want was a chelsea win. Chelsea are only 5 points ahead of Utd, but are much much stronger than them, Utd are poor this year. I expect Chelsea to be our big rival this year, much more so than utd, so any points off them would be a plus

  68. bk

ja i actually dont rate mu this at season all.any points taken from chealsea are points for us …garentuued.
and i really think we are going to win the leauge this season

  69. ManGoonian

draw or nuffin for me… Although having United below us is always good.

Fuck the chavs, they will fuck up along the way, most probably away from home…

  70. Ja_Gunner

And the thing is Manure is still benefitting from fear…did you see the way Balckburn lay down for them at Old trafford..while against us the same Balckburn side had a go at us and got 2 goals..

Bolton laid down for the first half…went 2-0 down then came out and almost drew 2-2 with manure…

If the small teams watched how Sunderland played against Manure they would see Manure are not what they used to be

  71. bk

well people, what do ye think? are we going to win it?
if we get to just after febuary there or there abouts its a handy run in.to be honest i cant wait to have another crack off the 2 mancesters

  72. Ja_Gunner

Sunderland I are gonna play hard against us because they are winless since the beachball incident…

I hear your guys point…but here is the thing… we can reign in Chelsea ourselves come the 29th….

Also I want Manure to lose as many points as possible now because I know the fuckers are gonna buy January….while Chelsea will lose 4 good players for the ACN and I doubt they will spend big in January…

  73. Ja_Gunner

We play Liverpool on February the 9th..After that we play no more “big” teams….

So if we can go on a winning streak we will probably win the league…

The biggest teams we play in the run in are Tottenham and Man City….

We just need to get through that horrid late January to February period without too many losses/draws

How the fuck did we get Villa, Chelsea, Manure and Liverpool all in a row?

  74. A

couple of injuries to song and another to denilson and we’re in crisis bk, injuries to anywhere else and we’re fine! We’ve already had ridiculous injuries this season, and we’ve been ok!

points wise a draw or Man utd win was far better than a chelsea win, had MU won they’d have been 3 points ahead of us, chelsea would have been 2 but we’d have a better goal difference than both and a game in hand – we win that then we would have gone top… of course given that MU didn’t win I may as well be saying that had we won everyone game this season we’d be top as it would be just as relevant.

On the DM thing, I think if Wenger gets anyone they’ll either be very old or very young, either way so as to be happy on the bench. Out of the 2 going very young doesn’t make too much sense, unless he has found someone special, as we have a few young players in that role who may as well get a chance if we’re going that route.

If he goes old then Paddy makes sense, loan for the rest of the season gets Paddy some playing time, covers us for Jan and both parties can walk away at the end. However, I doubt we’ll get anyone and Wenger has a plan, cunning or otherwise, up his sleeve.

I understand what you are saying AAP about wanting a United win, but for me, I would rather have them below us, so we just have 1 team to try and catch…

On the DM ting… I am not sure? I think signing a player would be a good thing, but am not sure that is what will happen…

Guys the Carling Cup fixtures are

    Man City vs Arsenal
    Manure vs Tottenham
    Chelsea vs Blckburn

whats the fourth one? I forgot

Also of that lot I hope Us, Blackburn make it through….as for the Manure tottenham game..I prefer Manure to make it…..cuz atleast Alex mixes the team…..so we should be able to beat them

if we were any team other than arsenal I’d be of the opinion that having the opportunity to go top and let them chase us would be best. However, given that it’s november and we always have a little wobble, going top and then losing it I think would be worse for us than staying in touching distance and then pushing after christmas.

I realise that my last post seems contrary to my previous one but the latter was my opinion of what is best, the former is what in a sane would should be best.

Thx for the post Pedro….great weekend…finally off nightshift here and back to normal…one or two cold beers and then off to bed..

in my opinion just let the other teams do what they may…the results doesnt affect us that much…lets just concentrate on playing well and winning….it will be the battle for London this year…and it will be tight …my guess we’ll beat chelski by 17 points in the end :) ….

damned we are soo much better than Brazil :)

we will have to be extra good against chelsea cause the ref will be with them.fuck its such an advantage having english internationals playing for you

  82. Ja_Gunner

I think its best Manure lost…because they have played Us, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Man City …..those are the top teams in the table…

So that means they will have a relatively easy run soon….so ites best they lose some points from now…

Hopefully they drop more points against the less fancied teams…and not go on a 1-0 winning streak again…

It seems that way bk, can hope that a ref doesn’t play a big part in it but it might be an idea to not play eduardo as with the refs not giving anything for him and not giving anything, ever against Terry it’s likely that eddy will get fouled in the chelsea box and chelsea will get a penalty.

i just hate the way they fake falling over in front of attacking player[mr terry and carragher]and making out like its normal.cheats cheats cheats.and his mother is a shoplifter

anyone out there? I am scared of playing tough teams without song. We havnt seen Denilson play as the CDM this year as every game he played, he played next to song. If Song’s responsibility was put on Denilson in January when we have tough fixtures, I would be scared. I hate to say it but I think Wenger really needs to do everyone a favor in January and buy another CDM. It isnt even Denilson’s preferred position and Denilson is already out of favor with a lot of fans. I thought he was doing fine with song next to him but I cant see him being effective as the sole CDM.
