Pedro take me off the sick list, it’s halloween and I’m back!

by & filed under Uncategorized.

So I got a broken wrist in 7 places, 11 broken ribs and a collapsed lung on July 29th, one hour after the Athletico Madrid match, where Arshavin scored two cracking late goals, I drove my buggy back to my villa and fell out in my excitement. One flail chest injury later and my golf career looked in trouble.

I tell you all this as it happened a few weeks after the Nasri break and yesterday I walked onto the first tee at South Essex Golf Club for a 9 hole match, 2 pars and 2 birdies later I was back, yes back in the land I love, back hitting 300+ yard drives and doing what I love almost as much as Arsenal, playing golf.

So when I see Rosicky on the injury list again, I think what the… They told me I would never play golf again and that because of my ribs, I would not be able to make a full shoulder turn for  a year, because it would take that long for them to close up, and although they haven’t healed up, I can still play golf.

I love Tomas and I love all the Arsenal players, including those I don’t rate, but I think a bit of grit might go a long way boys, if I can do it, you can, so get off your arses and start kicking a ball.

And they get the best medical attention, I got a filthy little shithole I wouldn’t wish on Ade (I would really, I lied about that)

Today we play the spuds at our gaff, today we put Harry to the sword, today we put paid to the over achieving, overpaid pretenders, today we get to laugh out loud at our small town, scruffy, dimwitted neighbours, today we play the team from West Virginia to the tune of Deliverance, their team anthem.

Today we get to see just how good this Arsenal team is, and how far we can go, today we play Tottenpompeyham, today we play a hybrid team bought mostly from a bankrupt team on the south coast by an almost bankrupt team in Hertfordshire. …New stadium my arse!

I think the noise will be special today, and I think the crowd will be in their seats early doors, I’m not sure who’s injured but I hope Nasri starts alongside Cesc, all I need to know is Arshavin is there, I expect something special from him today.

I know I have issues with a few of our team, but today I know they’ll be awesome, today I know they’ll stand up and be counted, if Eboue plays, well I know he’ll just stand up, if Diaby plays, I expect him to slam at least two home, and if Song plays, I expect to see the invisible wall!

Good luck men, show us today why so much is expected, for so many, by so few, Arsenal expect that every man will do his duty!

Ok, poetic license but that’s allowed, I’m in advertising.

I’m posting early today, as it’s an early kick off, that way all the people going get to feel 10 feet tall, like I do today!

Have a great day Grovers, today is halloween and by the stroke of midnight, bent Harry turns into a pumpkin!

Arsene Wenger – Post Spurs game

    On Arsenal’s defensive strength…
“What pleased me today was that we didn’t give any chances away for 90 minutes. Tottenham created very little.”

On why was he agitated at 3-0 up…
“I was, I was because I could not communicate with my players and I was upset with that because I speak, speak, speak and I already had not a fantastic voice because of my cold. I knew it was important for the future of the team not to concede a goal today and that’s why I got upset with myself because I did not manage to communicate with the team.”

    1 Shay Given
    19 Joleon Lescott
    16 Sylvinho
    12 Robert Jones
    33 Vincent Kompany
    5 Pablo Zabaleta
    8 Shaun Wright-Phillips
    18 Gareth Barry
    34 Nigel De Jong
    7 Stephen Ireland
    14 Roque Santa Cruz
    32 Carlos Tevez

That was the CC squad vs Scunthorpe. If we go out with mostly kids AWAY from home we will be crucified.

  4. Jaguar

If anyone has to be jealous of anything,it has to be about that retard Diabolical.Wanker plays like shit every fucking match and plays the full ninety minutes.Livid is not the right term.

  5. leon

games against against stoke, bolton, sunderland aston villa ect away will be crucial much much tougher tests lie ahead however i feel the draw against west ham has been wake up call to keep there concentration because the defence is good enough

  6. gooby

the always honest spurs boss. his team was so shit that i can’t remembre who was playing out there. jenas?? hudelstone??? bentley hahah cunts

  7. Mr B

    the Arsenal Mighty Arsenal.

All we have to do now is beat chelski and we will be top of the league.

    Enojoy.

Leave you all with a joke.

Van Persie met a realy kinky girl at a club once. Humiliate me she said to him….So he bought her a totenham shirt.

  8. Stu

They cant sack Rafa because it will apparently cost 20m and thats 20m they just cant afford. They are stuck with him until he either quits or they get money.

  9. leon

pedro i garantee to you playing teams like stoke who get your face they will be well organised football sides are rearly problem to this team which why we have always ton well against manu liverpool and chelsea but teasm like bolton sunderland stoke have caused them alot problems though this season i think it may different as they looking alot more up for it but will still is will be tough test for this team

  10. Emperor Gooner

we played decent….this really has to be diabys last game..we’ve had enough…it’s like playing with 10 men to be honest….MOTM was Vermaelen for me..the guy was simply superb..as usual

and yah..wata goal by fabregas..a shame we couldn’t see it real time..but then imagine wat the spuds must’ve felt..hahaha

  11. Samir

    Team for Alkmaar?

    __________Almunia
    Eboue – Gallas/Sendy – Vermaelen – Clichy
    ______Fabregas – Song – Nasri
____Eduardo – van Persie – Arshavin

  12. paul

Just back from the game best noise for ages.I feel really sorry for Diaby. He has lost all his confidence Wenger should rest him.Song was very good again.

  13. Stu

Thats a nice looking team Samir. No Diaby or Eboue in an advanced position is always a good thing.
Maybe switch Arshavin and Eduardo tho. Eddie would probably be better on the left and Arsh needs to wake up…maybe the right side would be a good change for now.

  14. patthegooner

    Great game today,

Robbie Keane must feel a bit of a mug for his “we are on a par” outburst in the week.

They cry about injuries but we are missing a few too which just goes to show what a cunt he is.

The best thing though was the clean sheet. And it is time to give special praise to Thomas Vermaelen. I was sceptical when we bought him in the Summer, but boy I had no need to be, the Bloke is superb. 10 PL games now, has he made a mistake? has he fuck, he has been the real difference at the back this season.

Praise today obviously goes to RVP who had a great game, as did Cesc, but Also Sagna who shut me up ref Eboue being the best RB at present.

I thought Song grew with the game. Those that said Palacios should be our DM have been put right today, Song was miles ahead of him despite not being brilliant himself.

Diaby again though…..Poor, I struggle to know how this bloke gets to play at this level. He is a constant accident waiting to happen. If we want more clean sheets, then dont play Diaby

So great day, a clean sheet, 1000 points to Wenger, and 2nd….pending Man Ure v Blackburn, but we have a game in hand. You know things are going well when BBK and Jimbo are nowhere to be seen.

  15. paul

I dont like seeing supporters getting on players backs Stu its not right and i wont do it.His confidence is shattered.

  16. patthegooner

    Out of ten

    Almunia 7: did well
    Sagna 8
Vermaelen 8: ten games no mistakes. World Class
    Gallas 7
    Clichy 7
Song 7: few mistakes, but got us out of the shit too
Cesc 8: that goal was on another level, simply brilliant
Diaby 5: Again poor, god knows how he gets picked
    Arshavin 6: Expected more
    RVP 8:
Bendtner 7: was doing well until injured

  17. patthegooner

I do feel that the fans are starting to get on Diaby’s back now, and hey they have every right.

That is for Wenger to manage, if you are going to pick him every week and he does not deliver then they will quite rightly get frustrated with him.

  18. leon

paul, diaby always tries to do to much he is a player who does not his boundries his passing extremly poor and still continues to try come up silly fac passes and luckily it higher up pitch not in crucial areas, nothing new there for deep central midfielder his passing is no were near good enough, next season he is going have huge problem keeping ramsey and nasri off

  19. paul

Leon i am not sticking up for Diaby.I just hate watching Arsenal players getting stick.I blame Wenger for not dropping him it has not done him any favours.I know it’s the fashion on here to slate players, just go back and look at the comments during the match. At the ground you try to get behind the team.

  20. patthegooner

You are right Paul, it is Wenger’s fault.

It was 0-0 and he was fucking up, so he was the easy target and the fans were frustrated. You could see that he was still fucking up at 1-0 2-0 and 3-0 and he got nothing as the game was in our hands.

I think it is doubled when you see the likes of Merida and Ramsey shining midweek.

Diaby is sadly offering nothing at the moment, and it is like playing with ten men.

  21. finestcuts

    Out of ten

    Almunia 7.5
    Sagna 10
    Vermaelen 10
    Gallas 9
    Clichy 7
    Song 7
    Cesc 8
    Diaby 6.5
    Arshavin 7
    RVP 9
    Bendtner 7.5
    Fabregas 9

A very good game, I feel Diaby is getting far too much stick and overall a great team performance.

Spuds were understrength but the way we played was what my judgement is based on, you can only play against who’s in front of you.

  22. patthegooner

Hey Finest, we had Nasri, Theo, Rosicky out as well.

Can’t help it if the Spuds replacements are not good enough, after all, according to Keane, their bench is better than ours!!!!!! Fucking Astonishing to come out with that shit.

  23. finestcuts

The dippers are in deep trouble, 2 red cards, they’re going to have to use a 3rd choice RB with Johnson and Degen out.

Citeh will take Tottenham’s place in the top 4 should they beat Brum tomorrow.

  24. finestcuts

Sounds like he was trying to convince himself and his team Pat. Tottenham’s top 4 dreams requires a lot more quality than what the displayed after a double shot from us completely disorientated them and cracked their resolve and self belief. They just didn’t have the mental strength to get back into the game.

  25. freduardo

i thought clattenburg today was absolute shite, how he booked verm for a lovely tackle and let bentley off the hook is beyond me. he even let asou ekoto kick the ball away in temper. gobshite

  26. Samir

Diaby should only be played playing off the striker.
Remember that game in the Champion league when he was played there…. Man of the match.
However we have to many players in that position better than him so…..
    He should be sold.
We should keep Eboue though, as a right back of course.

  27. Stu

Wenger considers Eboue as an attacker tho. So unless there is a guarentee that Eboue wil only be played at right back in the future it might not be a bad idea to let him go too.

  28. leon

paul diaby would himself huge favour not try to fancy and stick to what is good at he could very good dm,he is very good tackler and holds the ball up quite well and dribbles and can go past players quite well but tries to be to fancy and go far passes he cant pull offdoes not him self ant favours.

  29. Mayank

Great match today, the quality on the pitch was too much for Tottenham.
Was reading through the post match reactions of the grovers and i agree Diaby and Arsh were a bit off rest had a great game.
    This caught my eye.
    Geoff

Trouble is we win and Wenger says his team selection was spot on, thing is, if he left those three out we would do even better.

“Trouble is we win and Wenger says his team selection was spot on”?!
You’d rather we lost with these 2 on the pitch just to prove Song is shit, even after a game where he played well and made some great last ditch tackles? Shocking!

  30. rayman

Freduardo, agree completely. I thought Clattenburg was awful today. Bentley could have been off before half time. At most Diaby was a 5 today, I thought he was terrible. Even when he is not totally fucking up he slows the play down, our breaks lose momentum, he ignores runners and fails to see passes. He plays with his head down, no awareness of where people are around him. And most infuriating of all, one of the few decent things he can do is shoot and he continually fails to do so when he has a chance. A total waste of a player, we play with 10 men when he is on the pitch.

He might have made the odd mistake but overall I though Song was immense today, wonder what his stats were like he seemed to be making interception after tackle after interception over and over again, every time the spuds broke and he passed very well too.

Overall should have been 6-0, Eddy missed 3 sitters, Gomes’ early save from cesc, Diaby free header, we created a ton of chances today. Swap diaby out and put nasri / tom in and we are looking very strong.

  31. Mayank

How long till Walcott is back? I wont ask about Rosicky we’re looking very thin on the right. I really don’t want to see Eboue in there. I can’t believe Eboue as our 4th choice RW makes it to the team.

  32. Samir

We saw how today much confidence plays a part with player’s (i.e.Eduardo). Maybe if Diaby can get his confidence up he could get back to being like he was before that injury.

  33. rayman

Samir, Diaby has had so many chances, what does he want a fucking invitation to pass well and think about what he is doing. His game has so many negatives the positives simply don’t outweigh them. I hate seeing him in an arsenal shirt and honestly hope I never have to again.

  34. Lou

I was wondering what line Triffic would spin after his side’s defeat and I’ve just seen him on TV. I agree that the team and the crowd were nervous before the first goal but what did Spurs offer during that period? There were some spiteful fouls and many long hopeful punts played for the head of Crouch to knock down for Keane but they never got behind us and were far from dangerous. The 2 quick goals killed them and the second in particular exposed the problem of having no pace or agility down the spine of the team. Palacios and Huddlestone look a lumbering pair of thugs so we just began to play the ball around them and during the second half we really should have scored another 2 or 3 goals. Triffic slated our fans because we could see that Diaby was still in bed mentally and moaned when he continually lost the ball or misplaced a pass. But look to yourself Twitchy. What did your team actually do, except cave in? The ONLY tactic remained the head of Crouch right through the 2nd half although the spiteful fouls continued and were largely ignored by a very poor display by Clattenburg who’s only positive contribution was to wave play on for the 3rd goal. How Vermaelen got a card when you saw what went unpunished is a mystery. Triffic will try to deflect attention from a truly abject Spurs performance but the fact remains that Arsenal were far, far too good for them.

  35. Mayank

When Nasri steps back into the team we’ll look so much better. With Diaby on the pitch we have a player at a critical position who can’t do the Arsenal pass n move. When we play Arsh Eboue SOng and Diaby in the same team we have four players who can’t or don’t like to participate in the build up play.

  36. Lou

Cheers Reggie. The myth of Redknapp is slowly unravelling. He is a cheque book manager who will demand millions and millions in the next 2 transfer windows but cannot come up with a tactical plan other than the head of Crouch. With him in charge many Spurs fans understand the club will be treading water for a while. He has no plan except to line his own pockets and the only time recently that he hasn’t spent a fortune he took Southampton down. His interview is truly pathetic.

  37. leon

samir he is good attacking player but big part of arsenal game is passing and movement and his passing is poor and of the attacking midfielders we have nasri, risicky, ramsey, merida, wiltshire they all pass the ball alot better than him,he is squad player for me untilhis passing improves nothing will change for me,the onlything is keeping players like merida, wilshireramsey is experience 1-2 seasons they will be above him.

  38. dennisdamenace

God I’m so cunted and so happy, an easy easy win, not even outta second gear, the only downer……Diaby (again) woeful, and at times he looked out of his depth…..Song, Gallas and Vermin top top perforances today……

  39. lott

patthegooner, i totally agree with your 17:30 post..

Did any of you see how vermaelen was going absolutely mental and shouting at Song, who was very slow to cover the cb position, in the first half when gallas was bombing forward? some form of leadership at the back is always good to have.

and I love how he always, always gives 100% effort too.

  40. Ja_Gunner

I cant bother to watch Blackburn and Manure…

I am going to watch Barca…

Fucking Blackburn are just laying down for Manure…

Havent they watched the Sunderland and Bolton games against Manure…..both sides attacked Manure and were rewarded…

Well Bolton almost came back from 2 goals down..

Fucking Manure dont deserve to be above us…it makes me sick when I remember the game that we gave away to them…Fucking Almunia let them back in the game when we were comfortbable..

  41. zeus

Just saw Mark Huhes at the BArca game. He must be scoping out his CL opponents. OH thats right, their not in the CL,lol, Y is he there?

  42. zeus

Hughes scoping out Busquets apparently. Barca always seem to play with 12 men on the pitch. Their passing and movement is amazing.

  43. potterton

well i was delighted with todays result and quite happy with the performance. mega improvement on west ham

I’m normally with geoff on the song issue but today with the exception of the wacky pass back i thought he did well.

was delighted that eboue didn’t start and even more delighted that AW picked eduardo over eboue when nick picked up his injury.

i hope tricky comes back tonight or tomorrow as i really enjoyed hearing his perspective over the last few days. he can hold his head high even if his team really can’t.

  44. goonermichael

The mancs should have conceded. Fucking linesman. I think the chavs will destroy them next week.

I just heard that dogging wife batterer collymoron saying it’s a fucking 2 horse race. Does he genuinely hate us or does he do it to wind us up? I’d love to stab the cunt in the eye with a sharp stick with dogshit on it.

  45. patthegooner

Having watched that, I really cant see Man Ure lasting the
    pace

What a poor game, Blackburn were fucking shit, yet Man Ure were Shit themselves, really struggled to get the 2-0 win.

I can see them spending heavilly in Jan.

Chavski are our real threat at the moment.

I think we will finish 2nd unless we buy a couple in Jan. If we buy I really think we could win this

Still no Jimbo or BBK today………

    Strange that.

I have no problem with people being critical, I am critical when it is due. But when they offer no positives and praise when its due, it is hard to take their posts seriously.

  46. reggie57

    Classic line GM

Does he genuinely hate us or does he do it to wind us up? I’d love to stab the cunt in the eye with a sharp stick with dogshit on it.

  47. goonermichael

The mancs position really flatters them Pat. If they buy players they may get better if they don’t I can’t see them winning anything.

Jimbo won’t be on unless we can’t win anything and he can talk about sacking Wenger again. BBK will be on soon though I reckon he’ll be happy that we beat the pikeys

  48. goonermichael

I hate him Reggie. Can’t wait to see proper highlights. From the bits I’ve seen Dudu should have scored 2.

  49. patthegooner

The pure fact that Talkshite employ that fucking cunt makes their point of view on any matter football related mean fuck all.

He is a cunt of the highest proportion.

Did you hear the other day when they were talking about Marlon King being sent down for assault and asking the question whether any other club should employ him. Someone came on and said it seemed to be ok for a Radio station to employ People that commited crime so why not????? They cut the bloke off before he finished his sentence.

Fucking Wankers. I have now turned talk sport off. It would have happened a long time ago but Wrighty kept me interested. No more though, they are all wankers especially Durham, Irani, Brazil, Gough and especially Quinn who is a complete cock.

  50. Pat

Merson said Arsenal would be wise to sign Carlton Cole in January.

I have to say, he usually talks rubbish, but I’d like Cole at Arsenal. He’s very similar to Drogba in his style. Probably has better technique than Drogba.

  51. patthegooner

GM, BBK is not too bad, I like to read his posts as it keeps me in check, but he could still do with giving a bit of praise where it is due.

Jimbo is pure doom. We could win all four and he would still cast an evil spell on how we are so shit.

  52. potterton

liverpool will be lucky to make the europa at this rate. how could voronin’s performance against us earn him a start? same with the greek CB!

clattenberg was on a different planet today, how bentley didn’t get booked never mind walk was outrageous.

    happy night for all gooners!

  53. patthegooner

Pat, good call, Carlton Cole impresses me. BUT?

Not sure we have the space though.

to be honest if we were buying a striker, I would want David Villa,

Not sure if Carlton Cole would improve us??????

  54. reggie57

That micky quinn comes out with some bollocks as well, anyone would think that he was a good player in his time? he was a cart horse, a fat peter crouch,a bit like a white adebuyer one useless fat cunt!!

  55. patthegooner

A is superb GM although he can be critical when needed.

I think Keyser is the opposite of BBK

I dont think there is an opposite of Jimbo, they have all been banned

  56. Pat

ptg, realistically we won’t get Villa. I think he’s an improvement over Eduardo and bendtner. But RVP has done really well centally, so i don’t see COle coming to sit on the bench

  57. Truth

Patthegooner: It seems he’s forgotten his past misdemeanors, either that or he a hypocrite of epic proportions. Collymore the misogynist really does tend to have a go at the Arsenal whenever he can, so maybe he does have a problem with the club. Having said that, most of the Talk shite presenters are either ex-manure, pool or scum players, so what can we really expect?

  58. patthegooner

Truth, most of them have a crack at Arsenal.

I find myself turning the morning show off on the way to work as Brazil is just a drunken thug who hates Arsenal, Irani is a clueless fuckwit,

and on the way home Durham just fucks everyone off for bullshit arguments, Gough is like Irani a Clueless cunt ex-cricketer who no one wants to listen to, and when they are absent you get Quinn who could not be any more anti-Arsenal if he got himself circumsised and wore the lily white day in day out. Fucking Arsehole.

  59. Samir

With Nasri,Rosicky,Walcott and Djourou all back I think have quite a big chance of trophies.

Buying a DM as cover over then ACN is a must.
We don’t really need a GK IMO.
    Almunia can cope for now.
When he retires Fabianski and Schenzy can fight it out!

  60. Terrym

I posted my views about ‘Diabolical’ Diaby last week and got slagged off for it but I’ll say it AGAIN…. What can Arsene see in this player that the rest of us can’t. He is…..
    1 .Weak in the tackle
    2. Gets muscled out by midgets
    3. Inability to win headers ( Unless going for an own goal )
    4. Makes more passes to the opposition than his own players
    5. Gives away so many free kicks………I could go on but there is steam coming out of my head with anger and frustration, I don’t want to hear about his age , I don’t want to hear about patience. He’s had 5 years to improve. there are better players on the bench who DESERVE their chance. The boys are doing so well and I am so full of optimism but this guy could cost us a trophy this season. Please , Please Please Arsene…”He is the WEAKEST Link”
WHAT A GREAT ATMOSPHERE AT La GROVE’ TODAY First time I’ve Heard ” THe Wonder Of You ” that loud

  61. WB

what u guys think of obertan?
i think he is just tall walcott, just pace and no end product.he is tipped to be next ronaldo

  62. zeus

Djourou is back in march. He will need at least a month for match sharpness which he wont get as Gallas and Vermaelen get the majority of games.

  63. leon

more than anything that impressed me was how hard this team worked to keep a clean sheet from offonsive stand point were very clinical,it was as i thought it be mid field battle and song fab were very good, another point we will playing man city away carling cup we all knwo strong these young players are at home but how well will these young players do away

  64. kpomzi

Extremely happy for RVP. Hopes he takes the Ballon d’ ors. He’s my favourite player and anytime he scores, i go ballistic. So 8 goals huh in 10 games…hmmm 22 more before we can finally tell adebayor to shut the fuck up for scoring 30 goals in a season where he scored 6 against a hapless derby! Bloody Wanking Pillock!

  65. gazzap

How long can wenger give Diaby. I mean at some stage players like Rosicky and Nasri surely have to step in front of Diaby. we cant wait forever for Diaby to put in a decent performance. this was against a poor spurs team, when all the other Arsenal players around him were playing well. he should have been impressive today, but he gives the ball away time and again and looks so lazy.

possibly wenger sees his height as important at defending set pieces. it cant be for his passing!

  66. simon mcmahon

thank you god for my fab holiday and for stuffing bent blinky bastards spuds ,i love being a gooner !!!!!!!!!

  67. Ja_Gunner

December is gonna be fucking tough…..we have 8 games…

I hope that the players beat both Az Alkmaar and Standard Liege at home so that we seal the 1st spot…

This way we can send the CC team to Greece to face Olympiacos so that our first team players will play 7 games instead of 8….

Also we play Chelsea on 29th of November and the game in hand against Bolton is the 2nd of Decemeber…

But since the Carling Cup is in the week of November 30 surely the Bolton game will have to be rescheduled once again….either that or reschedule the CC match…

December will be tough, as I say we need to secure top spot in the CL group b4 we play Olympiakos so that we can play the kids….it will give them good CL experience and at the same time rest the first team, they will need it because we play every 3/4 days in December…..

  68. Ja_Gunner

Yeah Choy we need to put ourselves into the poistion where we an send the kids to Greece….The first teamers would rest and avoid the flying….

The kids get an extra game with no pressure to express themselves…

And the first team will be well rested to face Liverpool the following Sunday…

And no doubt Liverpool will be involved in a do or die CL match against Fiorentina…..we need to captitalise on that.

Hopefully they kicked out of the CL in that game and their confidence is shattered b4 they face us.
