Lansbury on target, should we bring him back?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Great to see young gunner Henri Lansbury ripping into Sheffield United, is he good enough to bring back? Could he play that midfield role, is he another Ramsey or another Flamini, what’s your take on it?

Wenger says he considered bringing Matty Upson back, good timing boss, just in time for the West Ham game!

I watched the Fulham game and wondered how Hangeland would have fitted in, I wouldn’t have swapped him for Vermaelen, but against a team that’s big on set pieces I would have him as an option, maybe if we are still in the mix in January, Wenger will have another look, I would, we all know Gallas won’t last the season.

I think we are playing West Ham at a good time, they keep losing and we got a toe up the arse against AK, I think we’ll win and win well, but the team needs to come out the blocks quickly because I think West Ham will.

We have a frenetic 2 weeks coming up, West Ham followed by Liverpool, followed by Spurs followed by AZ, so in theory, we could be top of the league, into the next round of the Carling Cup and qualifying in our ECL group. Wouldn’t we all be happy eh?

It seems to me we are being linked to more players now that we have ever been, I don’t get excited any more, because it so rarely happens, the last time we signed more than one big player was in that January transfer window when we got Theo, Ade and Diaby (I think) Arshavin says we need two players, I agree, just two, but I’ve said that since last season.

I have changed my mind over the keeper though, we have three young ones, that in my mind are all better than Almunia, will he play Mannone, Fabianski or will he bring back the waiter?

We’ll know tomorrow, but if he doesn’t play Almunia, the writing’s on the wall, that’s for sure.

A final word from the boss on any potential takeover, he said ‘don’t interfere’ now I admire that, but it really does show who has the safest job in football, doesn’t it!

Have a great day Grovers, tomorrow we go East. Like the Pet shop boys did.

Cesc hasnt been brilliant all season but he still always had end product even when he wasnt playing well. Thats what sets him apart from the others and why its annoying bullshit when people compare his performances to the likes of Diaby.

  2. ManGoonian

I am literally turning my back on you now Stu… Considering youwere saying much the same shit about Diaby earlier, only makes one of us look foolish. Can you guess which one that is….?

Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby has admitted he is flattered by comparisons to former Gunner Patrick Vieria but has insisted that he is a much different player to the Frenchman.

The 23-year-old is an increasing influence at the Emirates and began the season in fine style, bagging a brace on the opening day against Portsmouth.

Diaby was also in the goals again last weekend with a strike against Birmingham City to help the Gunners claim their fourth straight league win.

Whilst the midfielder is happy to accept the plaudits that are coming his way this season, he insists it is wrong to compare him to his “idol” Vieira.

“He is a big idol for me and I learned a lot from watching him,” he told The Sun.

“The way he defends and the way he penetrates defenders to get in the box – he has been a big influence.

“People make the comparison between us because I’m tall like him but I believe our game is very different.

“He is much more aggressive than me and much stronger.”

What kind of shit goalkeeping is that by Fat Robinson. Essien scored from a good 35 yards and it went almost straight down the middle (although it did curl a lot but even so).

2 derbies in a row……first the ‘appy ‘ammers who as usual think they’ll cause an upset. Not tomorrow. Can’t wait for the big one………lets mash the Spuds. I’m gonna have some sausage and mash while I’m watching.

    Predictions:

    West Ham 0 Arsenal 1
    Arsenal 7 Totnum 1

i for one i am not to suprised by the chelsea result, for long term they dont have that many young players comming through but for short term the fact is they alot of very experienced top class players yes they will hvae to be abit lucky with injuries in my opinion who ever finishers above chelsea will most liklely win the prem

  8. gnarleygeorge9

One of the more popular clubs down here in Oz is having a renaissance I see. Those geezers from Loftus Road, QPR. My bro will be getting out his old moth eaten scarf & 1970′s Umbro hooped top again

  9. leon

    gnarly

we have good chance but we will have to be lucky with injuries, chelsea without dought do have a much experienced central midfield,i feel this team as more attacking options but both chelsea and manu are better at grinding out results and if liverpool get realy lucky with injuries and gerard and torres and such players stay fit they have a chance too i realy cant see how you can rule out any of the teams this early evon if liverpool lose i still would not rule them yet its still far to early because i know for fact that all 4 teams are going drop more points

  10. gnarleygeorge9

5-0 to chelski, wow!!! There would be some very chuffed chavs after that result. Theft of Burberry caps & tops would be sky rocketing in those parts today LOL

  11. gnarleygeorge9

    leon

chelski are doing what The arsenal did last year, drop points against the “weaker” clubs, then bullying Blackburn is like winning 6-2 IMO. I really don’t think chelski have room for improvement in them. They are playing @ full strength & are boring to watch. The Arsenal on the other hand still have a few surprises up their sleeve. Have chelski beaten a top rank team yet?

  12. gnarleygeorge9

…….& the choking of Terry in the CL. They aren’t that special, especially when you compare 13 times Champions with a small 3 times champions.

  13. leon

gnarl yes they are boringbut they know chern out the wins,i garantee most of there wins are 1-0,ant at home they will be very difficult to beat but i see chinks in there defence and that be expoited

  14. reggie57

All im saying is them cunts have got the winning mentality ie grinding out results when not playing well im not bigging em up i hate them and every thing they stand for!!!

  15. gunnergetyou

the chavs glory days will come to an end as soon as fat frank and co fuck off into retirement. After that they will be just like real madrid, a dis-jointed bunch of big signings, with countless managers being sacked.

  16. km

reggie….not sure which game u were watching but Chelsea played some good football 2day. Joe Cole was on fire….if he was Brazilian we’d all be saying he’s world class etc. Joe Cole was awesome 2day….
gr8 scoreline…..note that we conceded 2 and they didnt concede none against the same time.

  17. reggie57

When we play the chavs we will see how far we have progressed since last season hopefully we can put em to the sword!!!

  18. km

Imo this year is going to be REALLLY close. my heart says its going to be between us and chelsea BUT my head says its going to be us, Chelski & ManU with a big pack chasing.

  19. reggie57

I watched them chav cunts play today and they looked good which will go down as their performance of the season!!

  20. ManGoonian

We beat the chavs at their gaff, beat the Mancs at ours, didnt mean a thing in the end…

Blackburn are shite and were missing Dunn and that Samba dude too.

It was one game, when they fail to turn up in their next away game, we will all be larfinh our tits off.

And their defending is ropey at set pieces, yet apparantly we have a shit defence!

  22. ManGoonian

Maybe Lennon will be fucked for the game next week… Need to excorcise that ficture from last season. Took me weeks to get over that result. Sends a shiver down me spine thinkin about it…

  23. SharkeySure

    ManG.

I’ve had a read back and had a right good howl at some of your posts.

Top blogging…more power to ya !!!

  24. SharkeySure

ManG you also did a great job in getting Stu to tidy his room as well.

Now he’s got room for the life size figurines of Song and Diaby that he got off Geoff at a car boot sale..??

  25. Am

Does anyone else believe that Lansbury deserves a chance with a prem team. This would give us a better look at him.

A team like WIGAN would bbe perfect for him.

Also why is Rosiky not getting a new contract yet? Does anyone else think Wenger might let him go and trust Ramsay, Merida, Wilshire and Lansbury more in the first team, if we dont give him a new contract.

  26. B.B.K

rosicky is fucked he’s going to be constanly in and out of the team they should of brought a ready made replacement in

  27. ManGoonian

Rosicky will do the bizz this year, win us important games, score vital goals and get a new deal…

Lansbury is fine where he is, IMO and Wenger can see him every day… Watford train right next door to Arsenal at London Colney!

  28. LAzer

‘We have to accept that people’s opinions are like the weather forecast, they can change quickly. We’ve had a stronger start than last year and are in a much stronger position after eight games. But we haven’t won anything yet. We have to take care of our game and our spirit, because football is fragile and can change quickly.

I was hoping Pedro had forgotten to do his and he’d post at 8!

I’ve been waiting for kick-off since 9.45pm on Tuesday….another hour ain’t goona hurt.

  30. Geoff

Morning all, I was thinking the same thing, wouldn’t it be nice if Pedro posted more than once a week and what time should I post today, will people remember the clocks go back?

I decided to split the difference, I’ll post at 8.30, the old 9.30.

So for some it will be late and others early.

  31. gnarleygeorge9

    Evening Geoff
