Arsene wants to extend his 2011 contract. Let’s go 4-4-2 tonight.

So Arsene Wenger wants to extend his contract beyond it’s date of 2011, he doesn’t want to retire and he doesn’t want to manage another club. All good news indeed.

Arsene says he likes the freedom he has to run the footballing side of Arsenal and that was indeed a factor of him not wanting to go to Real Madrid, the club he supported as a boy, the other factor was he made a promise to this current crop that he would see it through.

He also said judge him in two years, that I think is 2011, so if he extends his contract now, he will be here way past 2011 and that must mean he knows he’ll win some silverware otherwise he wouldn’t be extending his contract, so if all that happens, good times are ahead!

Fragile Theo is now concerned about the world cup, Theo, I have always said you will be the saviour of England, I still believe you will be, but if you are going to be concerned about anyone, it really should be the club that pays your wages, I don’t just want to see you making cameo appearances for us this season as a warm up for the world cup. I know you got clattered, but I think you need to toughen up.

Alkmaar are a team managed by Ronald Koeman and remember he cost us when Taylor was manager once, he knows how to hurt, but frankly if we can’t beat a team that lost to FC Twente at the weekend, then we should be playing in the Europa cup with all the other shit English sides, no offence Villa but it is a shit competition.

I hope we go out and attack, I hope if he puts Eboue in, it’s at right back, we have plenty of players that can play wide left and wide right, we don’t need to play a right back out of position, we can play Wilshere, Vela or Ramsey out wide, even Traore but please don’t start how you almost finished against Birmingham.

Here’s the team you should pick,

Mannone

Eboue/Sagna, Gallas, Vermaelen, Clichy/Gibbs

Wilshere, Cesc, Song/Diaby, Ramsey/Vela/Traore

Arshavin, Robin

Play a 4-4-2, we’re away and 4-4-2 can be our old 4-5-1, I even included Song and Diaby in there for some of you that think they ought to play week in, week out so you can’t complain I don’t listen.

They will try and hit us early, well they ought to if they’ve done their homework on us.

So Arsenal, you need to stay strong and hold on for the first 15 minutes, probe them for weaknesses and then rip out their necks, just like those Raptors did in Jurassic Park, the first one, not the follow up, the follow up was a bit silly because they all started breeding, and if that were true, the flying ones would have got off the island and started nesting in Madison square Gardens like Godzilla did. And we all knew that was bollocks, don’t we!

Mind you, if Godzilla had bred with a Pterodactyl, imagine what that beast could do, if we had an army of them, we could rule the world and that means we could win the ECL, because we could eat the competition. No doubt Platini would find something wrong with that though, as he is the biggest dinosaur in the world.

Anyway, wherever you are watching it, have fun, drink your cheaper than Arsenal beer and lets see if we can close this team out tonight so we can rest easy in the next ECL game.

Have a great night tonight Grovers, after this we have West Ham then Liverpool, then the Spuds, and then Alkmaar again, wow what a run!

Thanks for the chav translation, now I know.

  22. George..

Looks like Geoff has watched the jurassic park trilogy the whole night…there must be some reason for so much references of dinosaurs

but i loved it when geoff mentioned ‘platini’ as the biggst dinosaur… :P

  23. gnarleygeorge9 says:

A win against AZ should be enough to get The Arsenal through to the next round. That would allow Le gaffer to seriously plot his way to the top of The League in the mean time. Things are looking good.

  24. chozzer says:

    Great post.
I bet the Pterodactyl would be good in the air.
    Platini as a Diplodocus…brilliant.

  25. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    G’Day Sabeel

Have you been to any of the 20/20 games?

  26. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Platini is more like a Do Do Bird

  27. namibian gooner says:

Geoff, i think we’ll see eboue on the right side of midfield because i can’t see wenger starting JW or vela in an away game in europe. in fact i’m certain eboue will start at right midfield

  28. gnarleygeorge9 says:

I guess Jimbo won’t be pleased with Le Gaffer’s latest call :)

  29. km says:

    Salam Sabeel & GoonerPak

    HELLO Grovers

Tonight should be exciting. We should blast this Dutch side out of the water with the talent we have. Rosicky & Theo are out sadly so i’m thinking Bendtner will play LF if fit. the rest is elementary my dear Watson ;)

  30. hi george..

    G`day to u too..

No dude, my friends have been, and the atmosphere is electric back here in the stadium..

looking forward to some exciting semifinals.

may the best team on the day win

hey sabeel,is arsenal game live on tv tonight??

  32. Salaam KM

FYI km, our match is on zeesports 12.15 am IST

  33. yes wenger`s boss.. check my last post

  34. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Cheers Sabeel, all the best to your boys too.

  35. John says:

Why go 4-3-3 tonight when we are still learning the formation? the whole idea of playing our youth teams, reserves and Carling Cup sides in this formation is so that if anyone is out then they come in and know the role offensively but also as importantly defensively. With Rosicky and Walcott out, and being away from home against a virtual non-entity, surely you go Sagna at RB, Eboue on the right of our attacking midfield, Arshavin out left with either RVP or Bendtner up front (depending if he is fit). This would enable our normal central midfield, with either Ramsey coming in to rest one of them possibly. I just don’t see the point in changing our midfield when we are clearly enjoying it in an attacking sense, but still quite clarly learning it from a defensive point of view.

  36. km says:

    R.Madrid v Milan tonight…..will watch the highlights :)

  37. george, no matter what platini can do more..we have enough quality kids to challenge, when new rules come in

  38. John says:

I meant why not go 4-3-3?? Going 4-4-2 for this game would be a v bizarre choice.

  39. km says:

Sabeel – thank you yaar.. (mein UK mein rehta hoon) so i’l watch it on SKY

  40. wenger's boss says:

    km,rm vs milan is tomorrow

  41. achha KM..

  42. km says:

    JOHN

i like where your coming from. I’d prefer Eboue to come on and replace Bendtner in the 70th min or so if its a tight match. If we’r crusing then bring on Jack Wilshere …..what say folks?

  43. gooner-pak says:

  46. km says:

    Chozzer

That was an …….insightful video(?) :)

  47. wenger's boss says:

most probable line up for today would be
    mannone
    sagna-gallas-vermaelen-clichy
    fab-song-diaby
    eboue-rvp-arshavin

  48. haan gooner-pak

12.15am PST is buildup..not the kickoff..

12.14 am IST is the kickoff in india

  49. km says:

Choy….in that case we will defo see Eboue on as RF with Vela coming on l8r to replace RvP.

Can anyone put up a squad list for tonights match?

Sabeel…hamara yaha apna business hai mashallah….. properties/clothes shops. Aap kya kaam karte hain?

  50. Chipo says:

I like the new Global Grove!

    salam aleikum salam!

Rosicky is out from that team.

Apart from that it looks good, but everyone knows he is going:

    Mannone

    Sagna Gallas TV Clichy

    Cesc Song Diaby

    Eboue RvP Arshavin

  51. choy says:

Arsenal squad to face AZ Alkmaar:
    Vito Mannone
    Manuel Almunia
    Carlos Vela
    Robin van Persie
    William Gallas
    Bacary Sagna
    Kieran Gibbs
    Thomas Vermaelen
    Mikael Silvestre
    Gael Clichy
    Andrey Arshavin
    Fran Merida
    Jack Wilshere
    Aaron Ramsey
    Cesc Fabregas
    Emmanuel Eboue
    Abou Diaby
    Alex Song

  52. km says:

    wengers boss

yes, i agree with ur line-up SIR! Is Clichy fit?

Off topic …. Nasri is in reserve action…imo he’l be in 1st team action by End November

  53. namibian gooner says:

i predict a 2-0 win for us tonight, RVP and gallas to get the goals.

  54. dfdfsd says:

    what does ECL stand for?

  55. wenger's boss says:

nasri and fabianski playing for reserves today, hope they come out good

  56. km says:

    lol Chipo :)

    thank you CHOY

    If we’r leading 2-0 or 3-0 i think we should give Merida/Ramsey & Wilshere a few minutes.

L’POOL have got a hard match tonight. Lyon are a good side. They’v also got Lisandro Lopez who is not bad…

  57. Steven says:

No way are we going to play 4-4-2 just becos we are away.We must be faithful to we want to play the game, as Arsene will say.If its not broken, pls dont (never) fix it.We are still learning it.At Liege we didnt change when we were 0-2 down after 5 minutes.Thats discipline and we won at the end(at the very end).Lets see the regulars put this one to bed first and then we can introduce Jack, Ramsey and Vela to rest Cesc, Arshavin and RvP. gO GUNners!

  58. tonyadamsisgod says:

    Morning all!

Been away in Sicily for the last few days? What’s been occurring? Was Clichy’s injury real or did Gibbs get the nod due to Clichy’s form? Anyone know?

  59. charybdis1966 says:

Morning all, the only selection issues for me are the goalie and RM. Will Wenger drop Mannone for his clanger on Saturday? From what I recall he dropped Mad Jens for more than 1 clanger so even by Wenger’s quixotic standards it would be strange if Vito was ousted from the starting 11.
As for RM, I think he will go for Eboue as he didn’t play much against the Midlands Cloggers and he always seems to give Eboue a little more match time than he warrants – the opposite of the case as with Vela.
For me I’m not so sure who should be at RM as I don’t think Wilshire is ready to start there and with Theo out there doesn’t seem to be anyone obvious jumps out to go there, unless you stick the Meerkat wide right and put Diaby in wide left, with Cesc and Song in the middle if the 4-4-2 is the way wenge ris starting. I reckon he’ll stick with 4-3-3 and have Eboue/Cesc/Song in the middle and Meerkat/RvP/Diaby up top. Hmm a few injuries and our midfield options look a little less varied.
KM – Bendtner is out injured.

  60. finestcuts says:

Wenger is Arsenal through and through, he loves the club and he has the best job in the world, so why would he want to retire?

Rosicky is out for the AZ game. We’ll win this one but they will raise their game against us and I don’t think they’re a lame team, a class apart from us of course but they play attacking football, this will be the biggest game ever for their players so they’ll want to put on a good show. I’ll go for 2-1, that’ll do nicely, we’ll know we’re in a game but our quality far surpasses them. This game is about getting the job done and focusing on the league, I expect one or two fringe players starting.

I can’t see us playing 4-4-2 when Fabregas is clearly far more effective as a playmaker in a 4-3-3. I like 4-4-2 as well, but 4-3-3 gives us far more scope to attack as the evidence of the GD in the league table shows, playing 4-3-3 we get the most out of the quality attacking players on our team.

  61. km says:

Any players to watch out for in the AZ Alkmar side?

  62. Km

    mashallah khushi hui jaanke

main yahan Semiconductor industry mein kaam karta hun

  63. Chipo says:

taig i think he sat out training with France.

He played well against Bburn anyway so unlikely he was dropped.

Almunia on the other hand….. :-)

  64. TAIG..

i think gibbs had a very good game, but prob clichy would be saved for the westham game

  65. chipo..

it is a tester for wenger, does he keep his faith in young one mannone…or give almunia, who could be motivated…

it is not new if wenger brings in a older one for young mannone

  66. Dennisdamenace says:

    Good Morning my fellow Dirtholes!

  67. Dan says:

I don’t think changing formation would be a good idea tonight, nor do I think it’s likely. The 4-3-3 is a distinctive feature of our team (and club) now. Wenger seems convinced it’s the formation most suited to getting the balance of offensive and defensive elements from our team (and, for what it’s worth, I agree).

Last season we chopped and changed formation because Wenger was clutching at straws to mask weaknesses in the squad. The 4-3-3 is part of the Wenger philosophy now, though – and we know how often he deviates from what he believes in.

  68. Lewyd24 says:

    Hey Gents

Whats the problem with Rosicky? :(

  69. Geoff says:

dfdfsd welcome, you are now free to blog. It means European Champions league.

  70. km says:

Ronald Koeman will do a Blackburn on us….rough tackles, target our keeper, high balls into the box.

  71. Dan says:

And some points about the 4-4-2 you propose:
    -Rosicky is out
    - After a MOTM performance from Song against Birmingham and a decent, goalscoring performance from Diaby, why would you drop one of them?
    - Ramsey on the left wing?!

  72. Rhyle says:

    Morning all.

Looking forward to tonights game. Koemans a shrewd man – he showed that when PSV knocked us out a few years ago – and Alkmaar aren’t the first team to take their eye off of the ball the game before a big CL game (and let’s face it…we’re their biggest so far). They’ve only lost one game at home in Europe and that’s a proud record they’ll be looking to maintain.

There’s also the fact that out of 10 games against Dutch opposition we’ve only won 3, drawn 6 and lost 1.

It may be tighter than people think, any of the teams in our league is going to raise their game a little against us.

Despite all this – I agree with you Geoff that we should brush them aside. I just don’t feel it’s going to be by more than 1 or 2 goals. I hope it is, though.

  73. Arsenal Tom says:

    morning all!

good stuff geoff!! especially the jurassic park stuff!!

    Id stick with 4-3-3 though,

    don vito
    sag, gallas, verm, gibbs
    song, cesc, rambo
    wilshire, RVP, arsh

  74. tonyadamsisgod says:

    Cheers guys.

So a new keeper in January anyone?

  75. Rhyle says:

TAIG – I would love us to spend some serious money on one. Akinfeev would top my list of attainable keepers.

  76. Arsenal Tom says:

TAIG… a DM comes before keeper for me but i reckon it could be on the cards… but who;d buy ill-moon-ya?

  77. Rhyle says:

Dan – I’d drop both because neither are good enough or consistent enough for Arsenal’s first XI. I’ve been impressed with Ramsey every time I’ve seen him this season and think he deserves a crack. Thought Eboue and Gibbs had far better games than either Song or Diaby against Brum.

  78. km says:

I also agree that Mannone should be given another chance. Wenger should tell him

‘look bitch, this is your last chance. If you fuck this up, you’r going down boy!’

  79. taig i want a new CB ..thats more imp ..which i feel even u would agree

  80. choy says:

    Lewyd24 … 5 games in 9 days…

    he’s being rested!

  81. km says:

    Arsenal Tom

not sure if Rambo & Wilshere will get the nod ahead of Diaby and Eboue. more likely sub appearance.

  82. timao says:

Az are captained by the “Dutch Steven Gerrard” though, can’t remember his name but I remember reading he is a talented player who suffered injury early in his career, on the comeback trail now – i’ll be interested to see how he does against us – he sounds like a typical wengertype player

  83. Geoff says:

Sabeel I don’t know what you mean, I know Rosicky isn’t going, I mean everyone does!

  84. ikon says:

Choy ditto what I was thinking.
Rosicky is being rested for the important league games. As a manager I would not throw everyone into this relatively unimportant game and screw our good run in the league. Even if we lost tonight we still will go through, losing however doesnt look too much probable with the form of the guys.

  85. Arsenal Tom says:

km… probably right unfortunately mate, there’s trouble at alkmaar tough… their owner who owns a bank had been declared bankrupt and apparently the players wernt paid this week.

good time to play them from the sound of things

  86. km says:

    Rhyle

i agree, we need a world class GK. Don’t know who, but someone who is better than Alumnia. Mannone is young and still learning.

    Sabeel

Yes, agree with u on the CB as well. a young CB would be ideal, someone who can take over Gallas in 1/2 seasons time.

  87. Geoff

i meant rosicky correction in following context

In sixth para of the post, Rosicky is mentioned as option for playing wide tonight.

and saw the string “rosicky/wishere” in the lineup,if i recollect correctly

  88. km says:

    lol Timao….that was a sneaky one :)

  89. Geoff says:

No it didn’t Sabeel, you must be going mad!!! Check again.

  90. Arsenal Tom says:

arseblog says rosicky is a little knee thing but the boss thinks it’ll only be a few days.

think that info might be from a tvonline interview

  91. yep KM u r right

but am afraid..if wenger wants to buy CB to take over from gallas,he may fall back on our youth like bartley or nortveid..

so hopefully realistically wenger may buy a cheaper experienced CB to cover for CBs fore rest of season after Jan…

Figures crossed…no injuries to our CBs till Jan,when i think wenger Might buy a cheaper CB

  92. Hatta says:

I believe almunia will play today. So:
    Almunia
    Sagna Gallas Vermalaen Clichy
    Fabregas Song Diaby
    Eboue v.Persie Arshavin

subs: Mannone, Silvestre, Ramsey, Wilshere, Gibbs, Merida, Vela

  93. gooner-pak says:

geoff u are editing!!! first it was fabianski and now rosicky

  94. km says:

Apparently Koeman has been watching our recent matches to suss out our weakness…..or is it just an excuse to watch the best footballing side in the world? :)

  95. yes geoff..i maybe going mad :P .. becos i am very hunry for some arsenal action :P

but do check the 6th para of the post…where rosicky is mentioned as an option to play out wide in tonights options for players who can play out wide

it is not so serious though

  96. km says:

    lol Gooner-pak

Geoffrey – Editor in Chief ;)

  97. timao says:

stijn schaars… the dutchman to watch

  98. gooner-pak

do u get zeesports there in karachi?

  99. km says:

    Sabeel

there must be good CB’s available on the cheap. However Wenger is waiting & watching the kids and thinking hmmmm can he step up?

  100. Geoff

i think that Rosicky word has been removed now from the 6th para of the post

  101. Geoff says:

    Still can’t see it Sabeel?

I just had some muppet on saying ‘crap article’ why change from 4-5-1 just as we are getting used to it!

Is it me or do you think it was a spud…..

  102. thank you geoff for the correction

  103. Geoff says:

Sabeel you’re not telling porkies are you?

  104. Forget it geoff :P

    it doesnt matter now..

    Geoff,

u havent yet answered, why do u think the club doesnt play walcott often as i got that picture from the post??

  105. Geoff says:

I think it will be a big day today Grovers, 100 comments and that was before 10am, always a sign that you are up for it and it’s a match day.

  106. Geoff says:

He’s always injured I think Sabeel.

  107. gooner-pak says:

no zeesports here.. it was only during ICL matches cable operators switched to it
u guys have this dish tv, tatsky we dont have those services only cable wala
there was a ad yesterday of big tv (or what ever its name is) they say u can choose 200 channels of your choice….like if a channel is not showing match u can swap it

  108. Geoff…i have a “PrintScreen Image” of the texts in the Post..Just in case for proof…if u need it :P

  109. Geoff.. why cant wenger play Walcott on the left

  110. scary to think..but i think eboue played for us in UCL final in paris..

that would be scary if he play this time on wing

  111. km says:

    Sabeel

    RE. Walcott

    1. He was injured after playing for England.

    2. He’s 3rd choice after Arshavin & Rosicky for the flank positions.

  112. timao says:

i don’t think walcott is fragile. ok he had the dodgy shoulder thing, but that supposedly has been permanently fixed. the human carpenters are pretty reliable these days so i believe that. then he was overplayed in the summer and picked up a back injury, then hit pretty hard and high in his first game back. similar sorts of thing were happening to rooney a couple or three years ago, metatarsals etc- and he’s not fragile. i think maybe players instinctively learn to avoid certain challenges after a while.

  113. km says:

Sabeel – Imo Eboue is a cracking RB. when his head is screwed on, he can keep any player in his pocket and is a threat going forward.

  114. good point KM,

and timao..thats an interesting one u make, that players instinctively leanr to avoid certain challenges..

But i personally feel…walcott should be used on left, whenever he is injury free,he can cut back with his pace and shoot with his right foot…

rarely i have seen walcott score with his left.

in that way he may score more goals and get more confident…

arshavin, rosicky all can play on right

Walcott and Nasri on left could make walcott score lot of goals, with his pace and cutback to shoot with his right

  115. Dennisdamenace says:

Does anyone know what the feck is wrong with Eddie??

  116. agreed KM ..am happy with eboue as long as he doesnt play in wing in future UCL finals in the wing, whenever we play in them

  117. gambon says:

I hope we dont go 4-4-2, we are still getting used to the new system.

Vela isnt a left winger so wouldnt want him out there, and Wilshere isnt ready.

    I would quite like to see;

    Almunia
    Sagna Gallas Vrmaelen Clichy
    Cesc Song Diaby
    Arshavin VanPersie Gibbs

  118. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Cheers Chozzer for the chav video. Finally someone shows me a chav. They & their fake tanned sheilas look like PWT we have here.

  119. ethangunner says:

i hope AA isnt using us as a stepping stone to Spain …
    ———————————————
Arsenal midfielder Andriy Arshavin says he expects a large number of Premier League stars to abandon England in the near future, as the tax band is almost twice as big as in Spain.
    ———————————————

  120. gambon says:

    Sabeel,

Every time Theo has played on the left he has looked awful. You need to have good ability on the ball to play on the opposite flank, and Theo just aint got it.

  121. Dennisdamenace says:

Eddie, Theo, Tomas, NikkiB……. i’m getting that injury twitch again!

  122. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Here are some USA chavs

  123. gambon,

as far i try to recollect,i am finding it tuf to remember when and how many times walcott has played on left,

if he has played,he would be still very raw to have an effect,

    can u highlight on this

  124. Geoff says:

Ethan, I wouldn’t worry, Arsenal will just make up the difference.

We’ll all pay for it. Arshavin obviously doesn’t understand all those players will have contracts.

  125. that injury list is a worry DDM ..

    u r damn right..

i hope we have the realistic and Honest Dates on there return

We fans dont like to be told in same way as last year when wenger said rosicky will be back very soon

  126. km says:

    DDM

Eduardo’s injury is worrying. Hope he doesnt have a Rosicky…. However Eddy’s injury gives Vela an opportunity to have more games. Either that or Wenger should look at getting Chamakh in.

  127. shahru98 says:

lets go with 4-3-3. its better than our 4-4-2, and that’s what arsenal have been playing this season.

  128. gooner-pak says:

fuck match highlight of arsenal v Birmingham and every goal labbeled copy roght issue. can any one provide me link for highlights (other then 101greatgoals)

  129. Dennisdamenace says:

You know when you get an extensive injury list as we seem to get of late, it pays to have either an extremely large squad or backups of suitable quality and experience. So, bearing that in mind why the fuck do players like Vela and Wilshire hardly get a look in when it comes to gaining EPL experience, because as sure as night follows day we’re gonna need them at some point this season….

  130. km says:

Injuries are bad for the club. However on the other hand it gives other players a chance.

    Vela can play LF/CF

    Wilshere RF

  131. gooner-pak says:

    any reviews for fifa 2010

  132. km says:

i want Merida to get some games. Come on Arsene!

  133. Arsenal Tom says:

gooner-pak… try footytube.com they got most things on there mate.

  134. km says:

Any reviews for BLUE / All the Best :)

  135. Dennisdamenace says:

km – Unfortunately I no longer believe anything that comes out ‘officially’ from Arsenal regarding player injuries (or purchases for that matter), remember Nasri’s six week injury?? We’re now close to Fucking November!!!! Ask yourself this, if AW had said back in August that Nasri would be out until the end of October, there would have been even more calls for him to unbolt the club’s wallet…

  136. DDM

i think the answer could be that our team always was crying out for experience, and that experiences especially in midfield
This inexperience tag in the midfield has indirectly prevented wenger to use youngsters like Vela and wishere in wing roles.

Its like the forward young players are not getting a game becos of a inpexperience problem/tag in another part of the pitch which is midfield

  137. Dennisdamenace says:

km – when was the last time either of those two highly talented players got a chance in front of Diaby or Eboue, Eboue ffs, a right back playing wide right instead of LJW, CV or even at times Theo, fucking ridiculous….

  138. gooner-pak says:

    thanks Arsenal Tom

  139. km says:

Anyone watch the Valencia v Barca game on the weekend?

David Silva was amazing in the 1st half. He dominated a Barcelona side which had stars like Iniesta, Xavi, Messi etc.

Barca were missing Ibra & Henry. Valencia were missing Joaquin, Vicente & Villa.

Valencia carved open Barca in the 1st half – they would have killed them off if Villa was playing. Maybe some of the Barca players were jet-lagged but Barca came back in the 2nd half. The match was goal-less but Valenica showed no fear against Barca.

Are Valencia in the Europa League/ECL?

  142. Arsenal Tom says:

“So how refreshing it would be if Sir Alex Ferguson, Carlo Ancelotti, Arsene Wenger and Rafa Benitez get a kick up the backside this season.”

“Maybe even up to three of the top four could drop out of the Champions League spots.”
“That is probably unlikely, but I can guarantee Liverpool and Arsenal will be looking over their shoulders.”

collymore defines the word cunt. they happily ignored the fact that if we win our game in hand we go above the chavs

  143. Ruler says:

Stan Collymore talks rubbish and it makes you wonder if he even watches football, Arsenal are definitely better than last season.

  144. Geoff says:

Collymore beats up girls and goes dogging, how the fuck does a cunt like him get a job on radio.

  145. MoW says:

great post Geoff. made my morning that did. i love jurassic park.

disagree we should revert back to 442. can’t see the point right now. would prefer if we kept faith in the new system, and let the players learn it better, especially in the context of an away CL game. also, would be good to see how vela and/or ramsay adapt to it. would be happy if either RVP or AA were rested tonight.

  146. gazzap says:

people always overlook the fact that if certain financial rules were brought into the game, Chelsea and Man City would slip down the league faster than a pint of Guiness on St Patricks day. they have nothing other than a sugar daddy buying success. I think even Liverpool could struggle under such financial restrictions that are currently being discussed.

the average pundit doesn’t care about the way clubs are funded, the type of football they play or the players they develop. Its all about knocking the top 4 off their perch.

  147. Dennisdamenace says:

    km – Arghhhhhhhhhhhh!!

  148. The media mostly like rubbish trash talk which makes empty heads turn a little ..thats why such stan collymore`s flourish nowadays

  149. timao says:

rvp’s control and shot for his goal against birmingham was breathtaking. that’s the kind of thing that will win us trophies.

  150. timao says:

collymore had the potential to be a world class international, but some weakness in his personality undermined his progress. i don’t think he has ever grown up, basically.

  151. Damn_Gallas says:

    Rubbish…

    Mannone will start in goal.
Sagna will be at RB, Clichy at LB, Gallas and Vermaelen as the usual CBs.

Song as the DM, with Diaby and Cesc in front of him as the LCM and RCM respectively. RvP the lone striker up front will be flanked by arshavin on his left and eboue on his right.

This will be the usual line up. Forget about getting to see wilshere, ramsey, traore or merida. If we manage to score early, then maybe at 60 or 70 minutes, Eboue, RvP and Arshavin would be substituted by Ramsey, Vela and Wilshere.

I dont think wenger would wanna play merida and traore, given that he prefers ramsey and wilshere much much more. Also if we are leading, gibbs will come in for clichy.

The ones on the bench will be wilshere, ramsey, senderos, silvestre, almunia, gibbs and vela.

Traore and merida would most likely be watching on the stands because next week against liverpool – the beach ballers, traore, wilshere, merida, ramsey, coquelin and gang would be unleashed. That match would be interesting as we get to see the progress of the arsenal youngsters, as we get to see the future or arsenal. If that kiddy team manages to win liverpool, our confidence would be damn high, and this is provided if we win tonight against AZ and over the weekend against west ham. Then we would have gone like successively winning 10 matches, and next weekend when spurs visits the emirates, they are gonna go down!!!!

  152. timao says:

regarding the liverpool thing, i still don’t understand why Reina went for the beachball instead of the real one, the beachball was going wide anyway!

  153. Dan says:

Why are people planning to drop Diaby and Song? The latter was excellent against Birmingham, at the centre of everything with very few mistakes (certainly fewer than Fabregas) and matched Birmingham’s physical style.

The strength of our team in 2007 was that Fabregas, Hleb and Flamini always provded options. If you had the ball and wanted to give it to someone, who wouldn’t immediately lose it, you could look up and find one of them. Song is, at the moment at least, proving to be a similar player.

I agree Diaby is not in that category, but in a three-man midfield he’s putting the necessary work in from box to box. I also agree that both have been given opportunities despite poor form in the past, but dropping them now (and changing an effective formation!) would be disruptive.

  154. Dennisdamenace says:

Geoff a cunt like Colleymore gets a job on public radio because our society is morally corrupt. Trash like him should be shunned by society, not paid a wage and ‘rewarded’ for his notoriety……dogshit like him makes me ashamed to be English……

  155. km says:

    Great Arshavin video :)

  156. Dan says:

Ramsey will end up being a more effective third man in our current midfield than Diaby is though. The moment Diaby’s form drops (and it usually does – he’s frustratingly inconsistent) I believe Ramsey is ready to step in – and maybe stay in.

And Wilshere should be given an opportunity as right wing forward in our 4-3-3 when Rosicky is injured. Eboue serves a purpose as a workhorse, but what if we’re pushing for a goal? We need a cutting edge in the final third from our three attackers, not a full back who panics when he’s approaching the 18 yard box.

  157. km says:

The following side can win the league hands down! Only thing stopping them would be a resurgent Chelsea imo.

    GK ?

    Eboue Gallas TV Clichy

    CESC SONG Rosicky

    THEO RvP Arshavin

  158. ganesh says:

Guys i wanna kno more abt the A.cole n gallas swap deal .. i wasnt a fan then .. now im hardcore gunner fan .. any idea on the money exchanged in the deal ..i wanna find out if it was a gud deal for us.. pls reply!!!

  159. lc says:

    Manone.

    Sagna- Gallas- Vermaelen- Clichy.

    Eboue- Song- Fabregas.

    RVP- Bentner- Arshavin.

    AZ 1, 3 Arsenal.

  160. km says:

If L’pool lose two more matches on the go, i think then RAFA is fukked. If we think Diaby is bad, then u haven’t seen Lucas Leiva :)

  161. chris says:

Jeorge Bird is predicting this line up for the raserves v Wolvers tonight

    Fabianski

    Gilbert-Bartley-Senderos-Traore

    Coquelin-Randall

    Barazite-Nasri-Sunu

    Watt

subs: Szczesny, Eastmond, Murphy, Frimpong, Ayling.

They’ve won their first three I think (Jeorge gives details) and if a team like that can do really well at reserve level, with all the guys on loan, you’d have to say project youth is starting to get reasonably close

  162. Stu says:

Lucas is apparently playing better than most of their players this season…and not just because the rest are playing like shit.

  163. Dan says:

lc, Bendtner is injured. And I notice you’ve put him at the centre of the three attackers and pushed RVP wide. Are you suggesting that Van Persie hasn’t done enough this season to convince you he’s adapted to the CF role – even though he’s scoring in most games?

  164. A says:

lc bendtner is injured, i’m going for the team a fair few have put on here, back 5, probably clichy and sagna in at full back, song cesc diaby, eboue vp arshavin. Would be good to see vela in there but i doubt he’ll come straight into the side and away in europe wouldn’t be surprised to see eboue there.

Yeah I’d go with that chris, though perhaps eastmond in there rather than randall, and randall in ahead of barazite or sunu, possibly not though. Eastmond’s done very well in the first two games, been surprisingly impressed with him. Looking forward to watching the first half before the proper game starts

  165. chris says:

lc I don’t think Bendner is available – swap in Diaby with RvP central (where he’s going to be all year) and that sounds right

I’d sooner have Eboue at RB and start Wilshere at RW in a game where I’d be surprised if the wingers have to defend too much think attacking flair

I expect even if Wenger was thinking that way he’d probably play Ramsay RM and Diaby in the hole

  166. A says:

Stu I don’t rate Lucas particularly, but he isn’t anywhere near as shit as people make out. He’s just a Liverpool scapegoat in the same way Eboue, Bendtner, Song and now Diaby are.

  167. km says:

Traore playing reserves….Gibbs ahead of him in the 1st team. hmmm

    STU

L’POOL looked reallly unbalanced/in chaos after the departure of Alonso. Mascherano doesnt look interested anymore ( Barca here i come:) Gerrard’s playing too deep. They need more quality in the squad. Is it too early to say that L’pool’s hope of winning the title are over?

  168. km says:

    A

i like Eastmond….versatile player. Can play full back and has been very impressive as DM.

However i don’t see any players making the step up in the DM role soon – will Wenger buy?

  169. A says:

km it’s too early to categorically state it but it certainly isn’t looking good for them is it! mascherano really has been shocking, and they have no top quality passer in midfield without alonso. If they lose to lyon and utd I wouldn’t be surprised to see rafa walk before he’s pushed!

  170. Geoff says:

Ganesh welcome, you are now free to blog. I think we got Gallas and £5mil.

  171. incesc says:

    so whose the better foursome

    hleb flamini fabregas rosicky

    or

    arshavin rosicky rvp and fabregas

i know the positions are slightly different but those 4 are really doing it this season a bit like the other 4 did 2 years ago

  172. km says:

L’pool are playing a lot of crab football….exactly what we were doing last year.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2009/oct/18/chalkboards-arsenal

Only the return of Aquilani to the 1st team can help them get to 4th position.

  173. A says:

Yeah I agree km, i really didn’t/don’t rate him as a right back, but he’s really impressed me in the reserves playing alongside coquelin this term.

As you say though I don’t see any of them stepping up anytime soon either, Coquelin is the closest, but not sure he’s quite ready yet. Be interesting in January to see if Wenger feels it necessary to sign anyone. Certainly not just for the African Nations, but if Song is ultimately going to be a centre back, does that mean Wenger has someone like Matuidi earmarked to come in and be DM, or will Coquelin be ready by the time Song drops back into defence?

  174. km says:

    Incesc

    This is fairer:

    hleb flamini fabregas rosicky

    or

    rosicky song fabregas arshavin

  175. Geoff says:

Dennis true, you can beat a girl up or wank yourself off watching other people shag, but if you call someone a no PC name, you are shunned by society.

  176. incesc says:

    geoff

most men have had a wank whilst watching other people shag, infact probably all men

  177. km says:

    A

i think Coq is far yet from the 1st team. It’l be at least 2years until he’l be ready. After the reserves imo he needs to go loan. He’s not ready to be SONG’s backup as DM in the squad. Hence why we should get a kickass DM.

    INcesc

    We’ve replaced Hleb with Arshavin
    Flamini with Song

Arshavin is a goal scorer and assister. Hleb was the heartbeat of the side.

Song is good but is a level below Flamini yet.
Flamini was all guns blazing/action man.

  178. chris says:

    in cesc we trust

I think the real comparison would be

    Hleb Cesc Flamini Rosicky

    vs

    Rosicky/Eboue Cesc Song Diaby

Personally I think this side is miles better than 2 years ago – when I was surprised they gor so close to running away with the league not just winning it

Last year was just a slog when the team did amazing to achieve what they did playing so poorly
Although they needed Arshavin desperately when he came and gave that push they were pretty much as good as anyone league-wise (a bit like Rosicky this year imo) and if the whole defence hadn’t got injured maybe they could have…. blah blah let’s forget that

This year’s what matters and the fact that Eduardo hasn’t played yet or Nasri or Vela or Wilshere and Ramsay’s just a sub and the Carling Cup boys are playing without any of the names again, it’s looking really promising

PS I’m going cheap prices to Watford v SheffWed this Friday (it’s on Sky) – really looking forward to seeing Lansbury at CMid

  179. A says:

I dunno about that km, I could see him being ready certainly for back up by the start of next season. Have to see how he does playing in the league cup this season, he impressed me against West Brom, then maybe go on loan second half of the season, then come back ready to come into the first team squad and play games.

  180. Geoff says:

Incesc, not in a car in the woods somewhere though!

  181. km says:

some gr8 points on Arsenal and looks like non-Arsenal fans have taken a shine to Arshavin :)

    interesting comments off guardian blog:

Some things I’ve learned this weekend. Or rather opinions that have been strengthened.

    1. Lorik Cana looks like one of the best signings of the season so far. Superb v Man U in midfield and impressive in defence against Liverpool.

    2. based on the same 2 matches I may have been completely wrong about Phil Bardsley. I always thought he was one of those average players who never seems to have trouble finding a new club as he gradually slips down the football ladder all because he came through at a big club. The matches v pool and man u suggest I may have been full of shit.

    3. Mark Hughes has a massive negative streak. Yes it’s natural to show some caution when down to 10 men but not to that extent. It was on show against Villa too where both sides settled for a draw 15 minutes before the end.

    4. Hull are hopeless and will almost definitely be relegated.

    5. Damien Duff has still got it

  186. km says:

MORE interesting comments off Guardian blog:

have learnt that my predictions are slowly showing up:
-Liverpool will finish out-side of Top Four.
    -Chelsea won’t be Champion.
    - Arsenal, with one or two signing, Striker and a DM will be Champion.
    - Then, Manchester will finish second.
Spurs and Villa will finish below City, as City are the real threat to any top four team, right now.

    Arsenal: Arshavin and Vermaelen impact.

Chelsea: Were missing Kalou’s pace and power and Mickel ‘s quality ball possession, unlike Lampard who can’t keep possession under enormous pression. Anchelotti’ s wrong tactic helped Villa win the game.

Liverpool: Alonso is a big loss for them, plus a team of two players, Gerrard and Torres; too bad.

Manchester: Have lost in quality for losing Ronaldo; but can still win big games, as they have the mentality of warriors, unlike Arsenal.

  187. Mayank says:

Like your team Geoff but it’s essentially 4-3-3 if you have JW or Vela in there… I think at best we’ll have one of Vela, Ramsey or JW since we still haven’t qualified…
Also what’s up with the last 2-3 paragraphs, you been hanging out with tomstoned?

  188. freduardo says:

any chance of the Alkmaar game being on terrestrial TV do ye folks know?

  189. lc says:

If no Bentner, I would like to see this line up:

    Sagna- Gallas- Vermaelen- Clichy.

    Fabregas- Song.

    Eboue- Diaby- Arshavin.

    RVP. 4-2-3-1.

    3-1, Arsenal.

  190. freduardo says:

    hmmm setanta i think

  191. Stu says:

Our match is on sky sports 3…unfortunately.

  192. freduardo says:

i expect same line up as lc 13.41. 3.1 also seems a good shout. hope to see Vela at some stage too

  193. freduardo says:

setanta ireland too i think Stu if ya get it

  194. gambon says:

    lets rock’n roll :)

  199. Jaguar says:

3 goals past AZ Whatever. The only blot on an otherwise excellent teamsheet would be the name of that headless chicken. How on earth would such an inconsistent player get too many games on the run is beyond me.

I loved the comment that if Diaby’s form drops,he should be replaced by Ramsey. If running all around the park like a headless chicken, stealing balls of his own team mates, and breaking down his own team’s attacks are the features of a player in form,I cant imagine, how he would fare when out of form.

  200. Geoff says:

KM I play to peoples fears, if they were banging on about what I was, I’d have stuck up for the BBC, I think some of them are easy!

Mayank I just got into one! Like your team too.

  201. A says:

Jaguar if you don’t recognise that he played well on Saturday then you either didn’t watch the game or your prejudice is pretty extreme!

  202. tomstoned says:

    oops one little adjustment Geoff…

forget about the godzilla’s-…why dont you just say his name…the new ruler of ur Arsenal’s Beloved midfield and the greatest player to be..Song ..Geoff …Song is his name…fuck the Godzilla’s…Song –Song ..Song..yeah…

    tom

  203. Stu says:

Im far from a Diaby fan but he didnt play bad on Saturday. He defended better than he attacked imo (regardless of his goal). He wasnt impressive but he didnt do anything wrong which is a major plus with him.

  204. tomstoned says:

and why is it that Eboue have become the best right back in the world…yes its simple..Wenger broomed him by playing him in midfield for the most last season..i told you so.. :)
Ramsey will be Our new Lord Nelson…

i would think that Brazil will be looking closely at tonights game….if one should learn..one might as well learn from the best ;)

    tom

  205. tomstoned says:

    Stu mate…

the only thing that Diaby lacks is being consistant…and i think thats a result of being pretty much being injured alot….once he gets a decent run…he will be a great player…i think he did very well sat…lets hope he can keep it together..

    tom

  206. Jaguar says:

I would want a player, who would play good than being average/not playing bad.Diaby is truly a blot on the team, which has players having the quality of Fab,Arshavin,Rosicky,Nasri,Ramsey.

  207. Stu says:

Tom, that makes no sense. Eboue is the best in the world because he played in midfield for 3 years?

  208. Geoff says:

Tom if Song has to be named after a creature in Jurassic park, then it has to be the one with the frill on it’s neck that gobbed glue at the fat bloke who nicked the Dino DNA>

No offence to fat people, you have rights as well, except for taking up two seats on the train, you selfish bloated ignorant pigs.

And another thing, I never met a fat person that didn’t get fat without trying to eat the worlds food resources, so stop blaming thyroids.

  209. Jaguar says:

I dont get the reasons behind playing him.Diaby has never been consistent, will never make it at a top level team.He was awful against all the big teams he played against, and the only reason why he is being played is down to Wenger’s stubbornness.I cant find a worse player than him in the top four, except may be Lucas/Babel.But Pool are Pool afterall.

  210. km says:

Tom your not stoned. Agree with ur comment on Diaby. he basically needs to get his shit together. Only then will he be a better player.

  211. km says:

Well Jaguar…the clock is ticking fast for Diaby. Nasri will be a starter in the 1st team by Early December…So he really has to jump up the ladder.

  212. goonermichael says:

Totally agree Geoff and the cunts expect you to give up your seat on the tube for them.

  213. Stu says:

Diaby plays because of his physical attributes. Not much else.

  214. Jaguar says:

    Physical attributes(without a head).

  215. Geoff says:

Jaguar, what about Denilson and Song, I think they’re both worse, at least Diaby can finish.

You are right though, the ones in the team we don’t need he won’t drop – Diaby, Song, Denilson and Eboue. And the ones he should play, he won’t – Wilshere, Ramsey and Vela.

    Odd isn’t he???

  216. Jaguar says:

And Senderos hasnt fared that badly to be listed in the reserves side, whereas Shitvestre is in the first team. What a shame.

  217. Geoff says:

Michael and the reason so many of them have sticks is because the overweight lumps with no self control have worn their hips away with their bulk.

  218. Arsenal Tom says:

Nothing worse than a fat fuck on the tube looking at you like your scum cos you dont give them a seat as if they are some war vet with one leg. cunts

  219. goonermichael says:

they can get disabled badges as well.

  220. A says:

Geoff Wenger has never not been willing to play Vela, his jetting off to Mexico every 2 weeks and coming back too late to play has just seriously set back his development. He should feature a fair bit this season

  221. Jaguar says:

True Geoff.I am not a big fan of the above players. But Song starts every game because apparently Mr.Wenger thinks there are no better DMs in the world than DenilSong, and we dont have any proper defensive midfielders. But considering our depth in the attacking midfield(Rosicky,Wilshere,Ramsey heck even Merida),how this headless chicken starts ahead of them is appalling.

  222. goonermichael says:

It’s impossible to tell if they’re pregnant or not. I always think “someone”s fucked that”

  223. Arsenal Tom says:

geoff did you see that after a woman was beaten up on the train for fat apparently she’s now campaigning for it to be illegal to call someone fat in the same sense way as racism is illegal!

  224. Jaguar says:

So what about Senderos,A?Has he been glued to the bench that Wenger doesnt want to play him ahead of the worst player ever to have worn an Arsenal shirt(right behind Cashley and Greedybayor) Shitvestre.

  225. arsenesabemejor says:

For the Diaby haters check out his stats here http://footballstats.telegraph.co.uk/PlayerStat.aspx you will see that your blinkers are clouding your judgement

  226. Jaguar says:

Those stats made Denilson the best DM in the league last season.Eff them.

  227. Stu says:

What exactly is that supposed to prove arsenesacemejor?

  228. Jaguar says:

Those stats never show the tackles, which he didnt attempt, the balls which he should have won,and our attacks which he has broken down.

  229. Jaguar says:

That you can still be backed up by stats, even if you run around the park like a headless chicken,Stu,

  230. Keith says:

Stu re your earlier post, just to be pedantic the game is on Skysports Extra rather than Skysports 3 :)

  231. Stu says:

Whatever Keith…i have neither of them anyway.

  232. arsenesabemejor says:

Diaby is far better than you are prepared to give him credit for, the same things were said about Flamini and Song and Arsene was right about both, last years stats did not make Denilson the best in the premiership, why do you feel it necessary to make up stuff?

  233. Stu says:

I didnt say the same things about Flamini. I always liked Flamini so its wrong of you to make such assumptions.

And although he is playing well its a little early to say Wenger is right about Song..

  234. Geoff says:

Tom, my wife thought I did it!

A he knew that when he bought him, Song does likewise to Cameroon and there are no direct flights there.

Off to the gym, back later.

I would never give them my seat, they smell as well.

  235. lc says:

    Geoff,
He plays them and we keep winning. I believe that Wilshere, Ramsey and Vela should be given more time to play with the first time; but being ahead of Eboue and Song is a wrong vision. No doubt I would pick Ramsey ahead of Diaby any day, but I don’t agree with you about Eboue and Song.

  236. nishanth says:

Hoping that vela gets a start tonight

  237. Maciek says:

Hi. Without Rosicky and Theo it will be hard to win. I expect a 1:1 draw since we can keep a clean sheet.
With Diaby and Eboue in midfield we will be crap. And Koemean is a grat tactician. Wenger hasn’t won against him. Do not expect another miracle like against Liege. We still do need a gk, a cd, a cdm. That’s all. Have a great evening. Hope I’m wrong and we will win.Take care.

  238. Maciek says:

    *can’t keep

  239. Stu says:

lc, who dont you agree with playing ahead of Eboue?

Eboue as right winger is awful. He is better when he doesnt have a lot of touches imo which is why he is best as a right back.

When playing rb he overlaps and gets a first time cross off or is already in stride so his pace beats many players but when he is deployed as a forward he gets the ball to feet and isnt good enough to get the better of players in a tight spot. Just my opinion tho.

I would much rather an actual midfielder/forward play on the right than a full back.

  240. nishanth says:

Eboue does a lot of nice stuff. But no end product. For some strange reason his final ball is better when he plays at RB.

  241. Dan says:

Defending Diaby is difficult – he’s not consistent enough to judge his ability. One game he looks like he’s come of age; the next he looks as clueless as Eboue used to (and still does in the final third).

Tarring Song with the same brush is ridiculous though: he’s a consistent performer, not a fully rounded DM yet (he still needs better positional awareness when it comes to covering the full backs) but definitely good enough to be our first choice DM on current form (that includes the end of last season and this season).

What we need is someone to cover for him: Ramsey is too attacking and not disciplined enough; Denilson was ineffective as DM in our 4-4-2 last season (despite the stats, his marking was poor and we often looked exposed in front of the CBs) and everyone else is too inexperienced.

  242. Stu says:

The problem i’ve always had with stats is that they only cover what a player does on the ball or near it. What about covering space or following your marker to nulify their threat. Something Denilson was quilty of during his amazing stat run was not following players etc.

What you do off the ball can be just as important as what you do on it.

  243. A says:

Maciek not sure about koeman being a great tactician?! He was certainly a complete joke at valencia. When has Wenger managed against him to say that he’s never beaten him?

From watching AZ’s game at the weekend, and the standard of the Dutch league anything but a win is a failure tonight imo.

  244. Stu says:

They played eachother when we were knocked out by his PSV. Other than that i dont know.

Koeman nearly got Valencia relegated. Thats got to be one of the worst things he has ever done.

  245. A says:

ah ok stu i was wondering about that but assumed it was hiddink.

  246. B.B.K. says:

wasn’t koeman manager of psv when they k.o us?????

  247. B.B.K. says:

az will be up for it tonight as were standard

  248. B.B.K. says:

    ah stu answered the question

  249. goonermichael says:

    Hi BBK
    How are you?

  250. zeus says:

Why in the world would we switch to a 4-4-2. Anyway currently watching az alkmaar 2009-2009 on youtube and i swear these guys look like us lol.

The new coach didn’t ensure a smooth transition to this season but they will be dangerous. I truely hope Vela gets a start in the front 3 today, at some point he has to start playing outside the CC, though I think Eboue will get the nod. Either way we are in store for a cracking game.

  251. rob green says:

So Arsene Wenger wants to extend his contract beyond it’s date of 2011, he doesn’t want to retire and he doesn’t want to manage another club. ALL GOOD NEWS INDEED.

I thought you wanted wenger out geoff?

  252. Maciek says:

A, my friend.Wasn’t Roland a coach of Ajax when they made 2 draws against us in 2004? 1:1 at Highbury and 0:0 at the Arena A? Also he knoced out us in 2007 with PSV. Yes he NEARLY got Valencia relegated BUT he won then the ki8ng’s cup and since 2005 Wenger hasn’t won anything.

  253. Arsenal Tom says:

i thought his name was ronald?

  254. goonermichael says:

    he’s dyslhustyevbbfjjidfghhnd

  255. A says:

Not sure Maciek, remember the PSV game, that sucked, he was a joke in Spain though, and the Spanish Cup has as much prestige as the league cup, it means nothing! I just hope we get an early goal tonight to open the game up, if the weekend was anything to go by they’re gonna stick 11 men behind the ball and just not bother attacking

No senderos in the reserves squad

    fabianski

    gilbert bartley ayling evina

    eastmond coquelin

    randall nasri sunu

    watt

    subs szczesny, boateng, frimpong, murphy

  256. Gunners The Stunners says:

Funny, AZ Alkmaar’s shirt sponsor bank has gone bankrupt. They will be wearing blank shirts against Arsenal tonight. :D

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/oct/20/az-alkmaar-arsenal-shirt-sponsor

  257. Stu says:

Why is Gilbert even still at the club. He is 22 r 23 and has made only about 5 appearances and they were all 4 years ago. We should have just released him in the summer.
WHy isnt Senderos in the squad, he isnt in the CL squad either. It seems Wenger is totally shunning him.

  258. lc says:

    Stu,

Eboue is ahead of anyone left on the bench playing in middle (DM or RW), because he brings the balance required to keep results. The game is not all about attacking all the times; defending our lead by having a player like Eboue who can defend and make our midfield difficult to out-muscle, and at time contributing on the creative front is why AW plays him. Also if for example, we are a goal down and have a defender, say a full-back injured; Eboue will slot in and have a chance of bringing on an attacking player. He is a multi-optional player. You should see why Teams like Barca and Fiorentina desperately want him.
I would like to see Ramsey and Wilshere play as you all do; but we are winning at the moment with the team that is playing. We just have to back all the lads, hoping that at some point Ramsey, Wilshere and Vela will get there chance, keeping us winning.

  259. Stu says:

Eboue isnt vreat at keeping possession either so that can invite the oppo to attack knowing he will give the ball back.

I dont think he offers any more defensive cover than any other wingers might. He is a fullback and shouldnt be played anywhere else unless we are in extremely desperate need.

Anf those teams that are after him want him as a full back. Donnt think for a second that they identified Eboue to add to their midfield options.

  260. Arsenal Tom says:

gunners… thats their owner as well mate… the ground and training ground both got repossessed!!!

  261. Arsenal Tom says:

i think senderos isnt in the squad to keep him eligible for any team that wants him, theres probably some stupid cup-tie rule so if he’s involved he’ll be harder to sell

  262. A says:

Stu he offers MUCH more defensive cover than any of the other wingers! He’s not amazing defensively as a defender, but compared to most attacking players he’s miles ahead of them I’m very happy with him coming on when we’re trying to hold a lead, to play in front of Sagna and give him extra cover, or in tough away games, though obviously we lose something going forward when he does.

  263. Jaguar says:

This is ridiculous.Senderos not even in the reserves squad. How the heck does Arsene think that fishface Shitvestre is better than Senderos.

  264. Jaguar says:

i think senderos isnt in the squad to keep him eligible for any team that wants him, theres probably some stupid cup-tie rule so if he’s involved he’ll be harder to sell
    _____________________________________________________

So whats your grand logic of not playing him in the league? And unlike your explanation, he had already played in the Carling Cup.

  265. goonermichael says:

    isn’t Senderos injured?

  266. Stu says:

I just dont think so A. He is of course supposed to be defensively stable but i always get the feeling that he is going to lose the ball when we are trying to hold onto a lead.

Playing a fullback on the wing is may add some defensive stability but what we lose going forward is more evident imo because he isnt a natural attacker and doesnt hold the ball well imo.

  267. Paulinho says:

Eboue provided great defensive cover when he allowed Giggs all the time in the world to play the through ball that led to United’s penalty at Old Trafford.

  268. A says:

Yeah there is that issue Stu, but when we’re holding onto a lead we often sit back anyways, and with Eboue in the team we win the ball off the opposition much better, and make it much more difficult for them to create anything. He also offers alot of cover if/when sagna goes forward, or if the opposition breaks and such like.

There is an issue with ball retention, but our ball retention often suffers when we’re ahead because we ease off. He’s also got alot of pace hitting teams on the break to kill them off.

Obviously I wouldn’t want him playing there regularly, but coming on as a sub in a tight game, or starting in a tough away game he’s a very valuable player to have at our disposal imo.

  269. Arsenal Tom says:

jag.. my grand logic of not playing him in the league? cos he’s shit mate.

played the CC? it finishes early, its no big deal in terms of prestige and money and it only applies to england… him being CC tied isnt gonna put people off but being tied for a euro comp probably would

  270. Jaguar says:

He cant be shittier than Shitvestre, can he Arsenal Tom?

  271. Jaguar says:

I wasnt talking about Europe mate.He doesnt even find a place for himself among the reserves.Thats ridiculous.

  272. Arsenal Tom says:

jag… its hard but if anyone can be then i reckon it could be phil! at least silvestre got some experience to him

  273. Jaguar says:

What experience mate?Shitvestre is clearly past it,and cant defend to save his life. He is one of the dead woods in our team, and he was clearly signed to satisfy Wenger’s personal ego. When the likes of Pires wasnt offered a two year contract, it was outrageous that this waste of space was brought in on a two year contract.

  274. Arsenal Tom says:

the reserves thing, i guess wenger would rather give the time to bartley ayling or whoever than him…

  275. A says:

Senderos must be carrying a knock, I don’t see how he could just not be playing in the reserves, though traore isn’t either. I’d imagine it has little if anything to do with being cup tied either, if Silvestre was out and he was fit he’d be in the main squad.

Football wise he’s way ahead of Silvestre, I’d have him as our third choice and not be devastated if he had to come into the team, certainly less so than JD or Silvestre. Real pity the extent to which he’s seemingly become alienated at the club

  276. Arsenal Tom says:

jag, i agree, i think silvestre is fucking useless but what im saying is what i reckon wengers thinking. id have fucked the pair of em off in the summer

  277. Arsenal Tom says:

JD is far better than sendedross

  278. gazzap says:

I think wenger has realised that Senderos is just crap. Silvestre would run him close though.

  279. Maciek says:

Yes Arsenal Tom, his name is Ronald. Sorry for mistake.

  280. Arsenal Tom says:

    whos worse…

    cygan?
    silvestre?
    sendeross?

  281. David says:

JD is our 3rd choice CB.

  282. David says:

why isnt Bendtner on that list?

  283. choy says:

silvest.. no doubt about that AT.

  284. Maciek says:

Cygan Toma. He has made so many f***k ups. He is second to none.

  285. Maciek says:

    *Tom

  286. Hat-trick Hero says:

both Senderos and Silvestre are crap. i could pick between them. If either of team are on the team sheet i start to cringe. God only know why Wenger decided to leave those two as our back-ups.

  287. Hat-trick Hero says:

    *i couldnt pick

  288. Arsenal Tom says:

cygan for me to… he is the bench mark!!

    ok…

    opposite end now…

    pires?
    arsh?
    overmars?

  289. leon says:

i feel wenger will want to put this group stages to bed and will for an experienced line up

    almunia
    sagna vern gallas clichy
    song diaby fab
    eboue rvp aa

put i would expect wenger to put nikki, vela wiltshire in second half

  290. Hat-trick Hero says:

Atom, ol’ bobby pires was one of my favorite players, but Arshavin is an absolutely amazing player. If we win trophies with AA in the team, i would go with him. Because he makes football look easy just like all world class players do.

  291. A says:

Have to disagree Tom, imo Senderos is way better than JD

  292. Maciek says:

Arshavin is great but Bobby was even better. I think many of You guys will agree with me.

  293. Arsenal Tom says:

i think bobby’s in front at the mo but if arsh has the same success individually and with the team then he could over take.

A… each to their own mate!

  294. A says:

I agree with you Maciek, Arshavin could reach Pires’ heights, but isn’t there yet.

  295. B.B.K. says:

it’s fucking brilliant senderos is no where near the team the longer he’s out of it the better, the game against liverpool should be his last aswell

  296. B.B.K. says:

a.a won’t be at the club long enough to take over bobby

  297. Stu says:

Senderos is a much better defender than JD imo.

  298. David says:

Can this game start already ffs.

  299. Hat-trick Hero says:

BBK, the thing is one of Senderos or Silvestre will play against Liverpool in the Carling cup. It probably wont be his last game.

  300. David says:

You two must be the only ones in Gooner World that think Senderos is any better than JD.

I find it hard to think of more than one error JD has made.

  301. chozzer says:

A, I don’t understand your dislike of JD as a player.
You always seem so rational, but you seem to have a blind spot as far as JD20 goes, which, to me, is similar to David’s dislike of Bendy and Jaguar’s of Diaby.

  302. km says:

    thats a difficult one guys

    Pires or Arshavin?

ok here’s my take. Pires took a while to bed in. Arshavin came out all guns blazing and before that made his mark on the international stage with Russia in THAT GAME against Holland. Pires played amazing after he had bed in and was so easy on the eye – he was poetry in motion – does that make sense?

  303. David says:

Most (including Wenger apparently) dont want Senderos near the team talk less of comparing him to a Young Star.

  304. B.B.K. says:

    why’s that then h.t.h

  305. David says:

    Chozzer

    Mine is justified.

50 appearances and 10 goals. Pretty shite if you ask me.

  306. chozzer says:

I don’t think any of them are justified David.

  307. leon says:

i feel one thing you bear in mind about jd is that he is only 21,i think he is quicker senderos and mabe a little better but at such a young will no dought improve,he is a rookie he has been at the club since he was 16,but fans especaily me are very fickle and have no patients

  308. A says:

I don’t dislike JD at all chozzer, I just rate Senderos much higher! I consider intelligence and focus to be very important for centre backs, and those are two areas that JD is really found lacking. I don’t dislike him, but I don’t see him ever being at a level where he could be a regular for us.

HTH i’d imagine both will start against Liverpool

  309. Hat-trick Hero says:

I can see Wenger playing him again for some reason. And it will be in the Carling cup. Preferably he should not play for us again. But you know how Wenger is.

  310. km says:

    anyone got the team news???

  311. Stu says:

WHo has 10 in 50 David?

  312. David says:

Funny i feel intelligence and focus is very important for strikers. Something i think Bendy lacks in abundance. Especailly the focus part…and the intelligence to realize that “Maybe i should think this is where i want to place the ball and shoot it not just shooting for the sake of it”

Championship player by your standards then A.

  313. B.B.K. says:

    a senderos is intelligent???????

  314. A says:

leon i’d say they’re pretty opposite players, if you could combine the good bits of the two then we’d have an amazing player!

JD has the pace, but not the reading of the game or intelligence, Senderos has good reading of the game and is very intelligence but is slow and turns like a bus.

I don’t think either will be top players who play regularly for us, but i’m happier with senderos’ slowness than JD’s potential for a moment of a laughably calamitous moment at any time.

  315. B.B.K. says:

maybe off the pitch he is,but certainly not on it

  316. Hat-trick Hero says:

Ok guys, in the transfer window what CB would you buy to replace both Silvestre and Senderos?

  317. Stu says:

JD hasnt made many goal costing mistakes but he does make quite a few glaring errors that dont get punished.

Add to that JD has never put in a man of the match performance and thats one of the reasons i think Senderos is better (although granted JD has played far less games).

Senderos in his first 2 seasons in the first team did very well but after Gallas arrived he just fell away. In JDs first year or 2 (compared to Senderos’s) then Phil is the better player. Thats the best way i can compare them.

  318. A says:

yeah he is bbk, both on and off the pitch.

David Bendtner is an intelligent player too, talk about his finishing all you want but his vision and intelligence isn’t linked to that

  319. Stu says:

Senderos won Arsenal Mastermind…just thought i would mention that.

  320. David says:

He isnt intelligent infront of goal. Fact.

  321. B.B.K. says:

    nah he’s not a

  322. chozzer says:

A, obviously I meant dislike as a player, which you most definitely do, judging by your constant criticism of him.

Anyway, can’t wait for 7, first half of the reserves, then straight over to Holland.

    Cmon you Gunners.

  323. incesc says:

    any team news out yet?

  324. incesc says:

    are any footballers intelligent?

  325. Mr B says:

I was born with my hands folded over my heart
O God, I have been in love since eternity

I was destined from eternity to be an admirer of beauty
Thus my nature has been passionate since childhood

In childhood I displayed a passionate temperament
Even at an early age I played the game of love.

  326. Mr B says:

    Greetings to u all

  327. A says:

BBK if he wrote on here he’d be a hell of a lot more articulate than the vast majority of posters!

  328. A says:

    only the reserves incesc

  329. Arsenal Tom says:

beign more intellegent than eboue, song, ade, diaby, almoonia, doesn’t seem the hardest thing to achieve

  330. leon says:

a-stu you have to remember most of time jd has warmed the bench yes he has made mistakes but so difficult to say who is better there both completely different styles, first thing jd needs to do beef up he is far to injury prone will he first 11 player for the team only time will tell for near future without dought i would say no,both vern and gallas are far betterhe does need to improve alot on his reading of the game his intelegence,he is only 21 we will see what kind of player he is at 23-24 yeras age

  331. Arsenal Tom says:

obviously im not though as i can spell “being” or “intelligent”

    lol

  332. B.B.K. says:

he maybe a,but that wouldn’t be the case on the pitch.

  333. Stu says:

Well leon, Senderos was a better player when he was younger. Whos to say JD wont be the same and not progress the way it was hoped.

  334. A says:

bbk when he played we were much more organised at set pieces, and there’s very strong statistical evidence to back that up. He never struggled intelligence wise, it was just his physical failures that cost him his place, along with his mental strength, or lack thereof

  335. B.B.K. says:

a the guy is a poor defenderthat will always be the case, the best thing for him and arsenal is to part ways, the stats may back that up but when it came to the crunch games he came unstuck…

  336. A says:

he came unstuck in a couple of crunch games bbk, liverpool obviously, and against drogba once or twice, though the best defenders in the world have been humiliated by those two.

in other crunch games, the fa cup final, last bit of silverware we won, and throughout the competition on the way to the champs league final he was absolutely superb.

  337. B.B.K. says:

we all know how much the stats mean aswell

  338. Duke says:

    Evening all,
Any streams up yet? Are you not supposed to put it on an hour in advance?

  339. leon says:

stu, thats wuite right some players will step up and improve other plays will just be squad players but thas up jd,as far senderos goes,i have call into question his ambition if i am young player i would rather player for smaller and play every week than just play in reserve games waiting carling games at this point in time it seams he is behind silvest very strange because the onlything wroung with him he his lack of pace is much better than silvest for his sake i hope he moves onto another club and gets regular games he is waisting his time right now

  340. B.B.K. says:

yeah it’s a shame he missed the final of the c.league

  341. Stu says:

Senderos made errors because he was in and out of the team. ON the bench for months and when there was an injury people expected him to play like he was a regular in the side. Of course he was more prone to making a mistake becaue he was ring rusty. Most of his mistakes were because he hadnt been playing and was just thrust into the team.

  342. blazon says:

don vito you soar ‘tween the sticks
as adept saving cannons as flicks
    but can you aspire
    to gently inquire
how to influence the team that he picks.

  343. Maciek says:

Stu, You can’t give someone 10 straight matches to build his form when he is a 4th choice defender. Cetin from Galata for me and Juhasz from Anderlecht. Then sell Silvestre, Djouroiu and Sendeross and we are sorted.

  344. Rich from the North Bank says:

An interesting post, and quite up beat about what you write.

I’m not even worried about tonight, we’ll score, and to be honest I can’t see them hurting us at the back. Time will tell.

One point. You say ‘toughen up’ to Theo. That tackle on him was brutal, and not a regular thing in the premiership anymore thankfully. You can’t toughen up a medial ligiment, and he couldn’t got out of the way of that tackle…. think that comment was a bit harsh, plus the boy had just got back from injury.
Hell he’s young, of course he wants to go to the World Cup, and he does love playing for the Arsenal. Give him a chance man.

One final point. Birmingham City fans…… WTF!!!!!
What’s worse? Racist chanting i.e. Millwall vs. WH… or chanting about someone breaking their leg???!!!!

I’m ashamed to say i’m born in the same country as those fuckers. I hope they go down with a whimper and never come back. Just a shame Eduardo couldn’t have come on and smashed them up good!!!!

    Oh to be a Gooner!

  345. Stu says:

Im not sayin that Maciek but expecting him to perform with no proper preperation is too much to ask. We all know he is a confidence player and when he gets slated for not playing well it knocks his confidence. Thats why he is in this situation. After the anfield horror show his career was effectively over at arsenal because everyone gave up on him.

  346. tomstoned says:

    evening All

    great game tonight…could be a classic…

and about Senderos…that lad could well be a wise guy…OFF the pitch..on it he’s not very bright…he doesnt have the eye for the game and will never be a top notch player…championship..ok..besides he will never play for Our Beloved Arsenal again..the sooner we sell him the better…that said i like him..great heart…no brains(on the pitch)

the same goes for Djourou…but given his age ill give him some slack and wait before the final judgement…

a new CB well there isnt very many out there…

    tom

  347. alex says:

    Mannone starts!!!

  348. A says:

not sure why it’ll be a classic tom? i’m expecting the usual 11 men behind the ball opposition just trying to stop us scoring!

  349. tomstoned says:

one more thing…since i never speak about Song..i will just quickly mention that he is world class….better than Dunga/Socrates put together..there you are Geoff, one word from me on the Song *saga* :)

    tom

  350. Stu says:

Tom, Senderos is much better than a chanpionship standard defender. He is fine as a back up for a CL clup or a starter even. At the worst he is europa league imo.

  351. Only fabregas says:

    Stu

Why is Gilbert in the squad?

So why do you want Senderos in the squad? Senderos has had changes since 19 and has been a flop so why keep him? Gilbert? He’s had few chances as compared to Senderos and he’s still younger than Senderos so what is your beef?

  352. alex says:

Mannone; Sagna, Gallas, Vermaelen, Clichy; Song; Eboue, Fabregas, Diaby, Arshavin; Van Persie

  353. A says:

alex where did you get that from??

  354. tomstoned says:

    A mate..

you could argue that point..if you look at AZ’s games this season, but if you look at last years performance and then quickly listen to koeman..AZ wants to play…not bus up…this year however they have had a bad start and have become desperate for result…

bottom line AZ was seen as the new Ajax.and last year they wasnt that far from being that…and would suit Arsenal very well…so lets hope AZ tries to play the way they want …then it will be a classic between two teams who can play the game the way it should be…

    tom

  355. AndyB says:

    Ha ha ha, jurassic park!!

Geoff – world class mate, now I have to wipe all the tea off my laptop that I spat on it reading your post……. fine work!!

  356. tomstoned says:

    Stu mate

im not going to argue that point..and you may well be right…then again it will never be for Our Beloved Arsenal …thank God ;)

    tom

  357. choy says:

    UEFA.com

  358. A says:

i can’t say for sure tom, i’ve only seen one game of theirs, and that was their game at the weekend in which they just stuck 11 men behind the ball and never committed any men forwards all game! last year they were awesome with van gaal though.

I hope they come out and attack, but if the weekend is anything to go by they’re just going to try and park the bus.

  359. Geoff says:

Thanks Andy, I just got on because I smelled a Song is great comment, it was Tomstoned and he must be if he thinks Song is any better than ordinary!

Nice seeing you on Saturday, enjoy tonight!

  360. Arindam@KOL says:

    team :

    ——–Almunia

    –Sagna—Gallas—TV—-Clich

    ————Song

    ——-Cesc———Diaby

    –Eboue——RvP——–Arsh

PS : I am 99% sure this is how we line up today.

  361. tomstoned says:

    A mate..

and for me its hearsay….have a friend who are a die hard AZ fan…and according to him..and he is a man who loves football…including Arsenal :) AZ was largely seen as the new Ajax last year and played very much like Holland…so it could be a great game….lets just hope Arsenal starts the game on all cylinders…an early Arsenal goal could set the whole game on fire..:)

    tom

  362. A says:

yeah that’s right arindam, ridiculously young bench! Almunia, Silvestre, Gibbs, Ramsey, Wilshere, Merida, Vela

  363. Wonderboy says:

Socrates was the greatest in his position ino, legend.

  364. rsr123 says:

    Mannone,sagna,gallas,vermaelen,clichy,diaby,song,fabregas,arshavin,rvp,eboue

  365. Wonderboy says:

    *imo

  366. tomstoned says:

a slight bow Thank You Geoff…nice to know im heard ;)

hope tonights game going to be a cracker Geoff ..

    tom

  367. A says:

yeah tom – last year under van gaal they were awesome to watch, just that the only game i’ve seen them this year they were embarrassing how defensive they were, but hopefully that was just a one off, rather than a practice for tonight’s game!

  368. leon says:

when i read sme these comments you would think senderos has made a wole heap mistakes far from the case he hardly played when he has played he made few mistakes going up agaisnt dragba of all players and stevie g but that pretty much it,i just thinbk he is to good pf player to just waiting for carling cup games and reserve games he should taken the deal offerd to him by everton

  369. Geoff says:

Tom tonight we tear them new arseholes!

  370. Mayank says:

Choy are we going to get to see the match on telly?

  371. A says:

is the reserve game not on arsenal tv online?!

  372. tomstoned says:

    Wonderboy mate..

youre right on…Socrates was incredible…and if you then add Dunga to the mix….then you have Song ;) ..my God almighty its great…at the world’s beginning there was a great explosion..suddenly a bright lightning..and there up in the sky…slowly a shadow emerged….we all looked up…and thought is that God himself….then slowly we all could see clearly…its wasnt God…no it was Song..the Best football player of all times..and we all kneeled down and praised the Lord…Song is here ;)

damned my omelette was perfect today :)

    tom

  373. tomstoned says:

    agreed Geoff..

they never know what hit them :)

    tom

  374. patthegooner says:

    Did Vela make the bench?

  375. Paulinho says:

FFS, and people try to make out Wenger hasn’t got something against Vela?

Our squad depth is completely illusory if Wenger hasn’t got the balls to give games to players unless it’s totally reactionary ie. injuries.

  376. patthegooner says:

Vela on the Bench, Thank god, would have prefered him to start though.

AZ: Romero, Moisander, Jaliens, Moreno, Poulsen, Holman, Mendes Da Silva, Schaars, Martens, El Hamdaoui, Dembele.
Subs: Didulica, Lens, Klavan, Wernbloom, Van der Velden, Swerts, Pelle.

Arsenal: Mannone, Sagna, Gallas, Vermaelen, Clichy, Song Billong, Eboue, Fabregas, Diaby, Arshavin, van Persie.
Subs: Almunia, Vela, Ramsey, Silvestre, Wilshere, Gibbs, Merida.

  377. patthegooner says:

I have a horrible feeling it may be a 4-4-2 with Diaby LW and Eboue RW.

I hope not, and if so, why not Wilshire.

  378. A says:

lol Paulinho, yes, Wenger has something against Wenger, that’s why Eboue is playing against him in an away game in Europe, not because Eboue is much more experienced, defensively better, and Vela only came back from Mexico at the weekend.

  379. Keyser says:

“FFS, and people try to make out Wenger hasn’t got something against Vela?”

Heh, I didn’t take you for one the conspiracy theorists, odd that.

  380. chozzer says:

Arsenal: Mannone, Sagna, Gallas, Vermaelen, Clichy, Song Billong, Eboue, Fabregas, Diaby, Arshavin, van Persie.
Subs: Almunia, Vela, Ramsey, Silvestre, Wilshere, Gibbs, Merida.

  381. Faceman says:

i would agree lads, crying shame that vela does not start out wide left.

  382. A says:

pat why would we change to 4-4-2 suddenly?!

  383. Only fabregas says:

    Leon

AW penciled Senderos for sale to Everton but Everton turned his back on him. It has taken Arsene so long to realise the mistake he made in bringing in Senderos down many years ago even to the extent of giving Adams number 6 to him.

He went on loan/sale to Milan but Milan didn’t want him why? He was crap.

Senderos will be wasting the development of Bartley and Ayling if he stays as these two are at the door step of being given trials in the first team. Next, year both Sylvestre and Senderos has to leave so that the central defence will be made up of Gallas and TV backed by JD, Bartley, Nordvelt and Ayling.

  384. Faceman says:

but fuck me… who were the wankers that said our squad depth was shit?

    butch of mugs

vela, ramsey, merida, wilshere and gibbs say fuck you.

  385. Emperor gooner says:

oh jesus christ!! my heart just sank when i saw that team..eboue and diaby wtf????..i rather watch the reserve game..any links??

  386. patthegooner says:

In fairness, I don’t think Vela’s international career helps his case at all.

I think there have been a few games recently he would have featured in, yet he has been unavailable.

He is back for a while now though, so hopefully he will get his chance soon……Maybe from the bench tonight.

Personally though, and although I think Eboue has had a great season so far, if it is a 4-3-3, I would rather Vela upfront rather than Diaby or Eboue.

  387. leon says:

    path

wenger will no dought go for experience wiltshire largly untested he may play him later on the game but he wont want to push presure on the boy same for rambo, vela and merida.players like eboue much more experienced

  388. A says:

Also – Wilshere is a long way away from starting in a 4-4-2 for us, he could only start in the current system, where he has much less defensive responsibility than he would in 4-4-2. I wouldn’t be surprised if Wilshere was one reason that the system was changed, along with the other players it suits better.

  389. Paulinho says:

Well Palacios came back from Honduras on Saturday morning and still played a big role for Spurs on Sat.

I’m tired of this ‘he came back from Mexico’ bollocks to be honest.

This is the perfect game for Vela. Something at stake but not a great amount.

Wenger never learns. Keeps playing players non-stop and then complains when they get injured.

  390. patthegooner says:

    A

I just dont see where either Diaby or Eboue fit into a front 3.

  391. patthegooner says:

Think this will be tight tonight, but I think we will have too much for them. 2-1 to the Arsenal.

  392. freduardo says:

any lniks for the reserve game folks?

  393. Faceman says:

eboue does not play in the front 3

he will play the right side of the centre 3

  394. Emperor gooner says:

eboooo and diabolical will ensure we lose this one!!i’m so damn pissed wid wenger

  395. chozzer says:

No coverage of the reserve game at all, bastards.

  396. tomstoned says:

    Faceman mate

you know me always negative..and admitting i was one of those who had some doubt about Our depth…and there’s only one thing to say …i was proven wrong :) still i love admitting that Faceman …

    tom

  397. Faceman says:

emperor gooner, chill the fuck out

    we will not lose ffs

and eboue has been one of our better players this season

    so many sensationalist newbies around

  398. patthegooner says:

I know Paulinho, but Fish Face is not really bothered about the conditioning of his players, he is a bit more old skool.

Wenger takes that side very seriously and will not have played Vela at the weekend for the right reasons.

  399. choy says:

Mayank.. am at office.. and only ten sports here.. so stuck with the pool game..

zee sports is showing the match live though, I will catch the re run at 4:30 am

  400. A says:

Diaby doesn’t pat, he fits into the midfield three, which he doesn’t in a midfield four in 4-4-2….

Paulinho he was on the bench on saturday, rather than starting, everyone is tired with his being unavailable or far from 100% because of playing for Mexico, but you can’t just pretend it doesn’t happen.

Birmingham would have been perfect for Vela, not an away European game though.

  401. Keyser says:

Vela’s barely played all season, he spent most of the summer playing injured for Mexico, came back and he’s been off again on international duty.

This is not the perfect game, he’ll get plenty of chances this year and even more so if we wrap up the group early instead of faffing about.

  402. Faceman says:

tom.. you are a man for admitting that

many still hide and cower and hope we fuck up so that they can poke their ugly mugs up and say told you so.

and then they call themselves gooners

  403. chozzer says:

EG, didn’t expect you to be cretinous enough to join in with that ‘diabolical’ bollix.

  404. patthegooner says:

Emperor, give it a chance mate,

We have not even kicked off yet,

  405. Truth says:

    Try this: http://www.rajangan.net

    or

    Playmyfootball.com

  406. zeus says:

    Confirmed line-ups….
    Mannone
    Sagna Gallas Vermaelen Clichy
    Diaby Song Fabregas
    Eboue Van Persie Arshavin

A real telling decision to leave out Almunia.

  407. Faceman says:

    Az will get pummeled tonight

they are scottish premier div class at very best

  408. choy says:

    Thats a decent team out.

Eboue, diaby and song have been doing well enough.

  409. treze13 says:

not the ideal team i wanted but COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!!!

  410. Emperor gooner says:

newbie?? to le-grove , yes…to arsenal ?? my reply to that can probably ruin your night so i rather not type it

all i’m sayin is if vela is avialble and the match isn’t exactly a cup final then why not start him?? surely eboue can’t be the difference in us winning or losing..i know we wont lose but it won’t exactly be that excitement inducing too

  411. Faceman says:

lolololol fergie loses the plot at manure press conference

    fucking alchhie red nosed cunt

  412. Mayank says:

Ooh thanks Choy, I’ll be watching…
    Faceman, true words…

  413. Faceman says:

hang on a minute.. you just said playing them will ensure we lose

next minute.. you say i know we wont lose

do YOU actually know what the fuck you are chatting about, or are you just typing nobhead bollox cos you are bored?

  414. choy says:

Emperor.. away from home.. we’re not going to go gungho..

would’ve liked vela to start too, but eboue’s been decent enough.

  415. Stu says:

Its just the same team as the weekend but with different fullbacks and Eboue for Walcott. Diaby isnt playing as a forward and Eboue isnt in midfield. Im now happy with those 2 playing but at least wait until the match kicks off and they fuck up before saying this is shit, we’re gonna lose bla bla bla.

  416. tomstoned says:

    Emperor…

tonight you will see..we’re on Our road to greatness…we’re the feckin best thing on the planet…and the best thing ever happened besides from the big bang !

tonight you will see…the New and much improved Brazil *Our Beloved Arsenal* give AZ a lesson they will never forget…. and im not at all sure they will ever be interested in playin us again.. ;)

    tom

  417. Keyser says:

I wouldn’t mind seeing Vela play, but if he has a poor game, you’re going to get the same numpty’s saying he’s shit no wonder we don’t play him, what a waste we should’ve made sure of the points first.

  418. Pat says:

Paulinho, I disagree with palacios playing a big role against pmpey. Spurs got battered and have Gomes and horrible finishing to thank.

  419. choy says:

    you’ve got zee sports?

    lucky facker!

  420. Rhyle says:

    Eboue starts.

  421. Mayank says:

    @ 19.16 that is..
Just like Palmer who hasn’t had the balls to come out and say i was talking out of my ass about the 4-3-3… Just like them he’ll be back with an i told you so as soon as we fuck up..

  422. choy says:

what did red nose do faceman?

  423. Mayank says:

I have everything, hate watching my footie on the PC…

  424. Rhyle says:

Zeus – I agree with you – it does look bad for Almunia. Think we may have a new no. 1 in Fabianski?

  425. choy says:

how is nasri doing in the reserves game.. anyone watching?

  426. Emperor gooner says:

tom i’ll only be proven wrong if eboue and diaby are the ones whose impact makes us win……read any of my posts in any topic buddy..you probably wont find a worst loser than me when it comes to supportin our team..infact i’ve maintained since last yr that our “fit” team is probably unbeatable…..but i aint showin any sympathy to eboue and diaby just because everyone else is…they need to prove it on the pitch which they clearly havent……if they do so tonight , i’ll be the first one to admit i was wrong

  427. chozzer says:

    It’s not on Choy.

  428. Stu says:

Honestly who gives a shit about Almunia. Mannone deserves the run he is getting and doesnt warrent being dropped just because Al is “fit” again.

  429. tomstoned says:

well off…watching the massacre of AZ together with some friends..

have a great game Faceman,Choy,Emperor,Mayank,PattheGooner,Keyser,Pat,A,Geoff,Paulinho,Stu,Rhyle,Treze, and All Gooners and Grovers alike…

    tom

  430. Stu says:

What the fuck are these Shitanta bastards at. Showing Belettis and united goals against us. Fucking cunts.

  431. RayGooner says:

I did a league table of all the Champions League clubs from the 5 Top Leagues (England, Spain, Italy, France & Germany). The table includes all competitive games that each club has played this season so far…

    It’s quite a good reading…

    1. Arsenal 13 11 0 2 39-14 33
    2. Lyon 13 10 2 1 28- 9 32
    3. Man United 12 10 1 1 25-10 31
    4. Chelsea 12 10 0 2 22- 8 30
    5. Real Madrid 9 8 0 1 29- 8 24
    6. Barcelona 9 7 2 0 19- 3 23
    7. Bordeaux 11 7 2 2 18- 8 23
    8. Inter 10 6 3 1 20- 6 21
    9. Sevilla 9 7 0 2 20- 6 21
    10. Liverpool 12 7 0 5 24-15 21
    11. Fiorentina 12 5 5 2 13- 9 20
    12. B. Munchen 11 5 4 2 18- 8 19
    13. Wolfsburg 11 6 1 4 22-19 19
    14. Juventus 10 4 5 1 13- 8 17
    15. Marseille 11 5 2 4 17-14 17
    16. Milan 10 4 3 3 8-10 15
    17. Stuttgart 13 3 5 5 14-16 14
    18. Atl. Madrid 11 3 4 4 14-21 13

  432. Mayank says:

Almunia game isn’t up yet, he’ll have to earn his place b/w the sticks, i have a feeling he’ll be able to do it too… Get’s too much criticism for 2 years of consistent performances..

  433. nishanth says:

They havn’t shown an arsenal match on tensports so far.
Think eboue will play as one of the 3 attacking players

  434. treze13 says:

you too tomstoned, hope you get to see a demolition

  435. gooby says:

    http://www.veetle.com/viewChannel.php?cid=4abdd0614d9c5
thats a good link for the game but i dnt think it works until the kick off

  436. Mayank says:

    Have a good one Tom…

  437. Faceman says:

i’m glad mannone is getting a run

  438. Pat says:

What channel is the Arsenal game on, in England?

  439. Faceman says:

    enjoy the goals tom :)

  440. Stu says:

Its funny how all the pundits stil say that we are weaker without Ade and Toure despite their poor performances of late. They started well at city but have since been pretty shite imo.

  441. Faceman says:

stu – i love the pundits knocking us, its superb, wenger must be creaming himself

exactly what he wants, let the team keep the pressure off them for as long as the fucking doughnuts wake up and realise we have a fucking team.

  442. nishanth says:

I think diaby will struggle today. If AZ are such a negative side playing vela would have been a good idea.Still think we will this one

  443. Rhyle says:

Almunia is a solid enough keeper but I’ve always felt like he’s been the default choice. Like Lehmann left and Arsene didn’t want to spend the money on a top keeper.

  444. dennisdamenace says:

Fucking Eboue in midfield again…….how long before proper midfielders decide to fuck off elsewhere to get a game…..

  445. Mayank says:

AZ are hardly a negative side Nishanth… I haven’t seen any match but dutch league winners can’t be negative..

  446. dennisdamenace says:

    C’monnnnnnnnnnnn you Goooooooooooooonersssssssssssss!!

  447. gambon says:

I dont see how Mannone warrants his place, he is a liability, but so are all our keepers.

  448. Mayank says:

If Lehmann would have left as our No. 1 we’d have replaced him, Almunia was our no. 1 when Lehmann left… DId a good job to get there, he’s no Buffon but he’s a reliable keeper…

  449. Maciek says:

Another crap line up. Hope we will win it.

  450. Emperor gooner says:

pundits or no pundits ?? when we have our near to best 11 playing , we will witness the most mammoth destruction caused by the most explosive attacking football …lets hope the spuds are the first ones to taste it though i doubt if wenger would start nasri

  451. Emperor gooner says:

    guys , any links??

  452. Stu says:

None of our keepers are reliable.

Mannone for obvious reasons. Almunia was once seen as the safe option, reliable if unspectacular. And then Fabianski, very talented but seemingly a bucket of nerves most of the time.

  453. choy says:

score more than the opposition.. that is the philosophy gambon!

  454. Paulinho says:

There’s something I like about Mannone. Brings a freshness to things.

Almunia seems so gaunt and jaded for some reason.

  455. Geoff says:

So the commentators say they haven’t lost for 30 years in Europe save once to Everton.

Cunts, how many European games have they played?

Anyway we beat them in their new ground first game, what 2 years ago???

  456. Stu says:

Its gotta be the shit hair Paulinho…

  457. gambon says:

    Ajax geoff.

  458. Pat says:

    Geoff that wasn’t AZ

  459. Stu says:

Well dont there Diaby. It takes a special player to lose the ball without even touching it.

  460. Pat says:

Szczesny is the best keeper we have

  461. Emperor gooner says:

crap..for a moment i thought we were attacking

  462. paul says:

    Link anyone?

  463. Ja_Gunner says:

    Lot of early goals

    Rubin Kazan 1 – Barca 0
    Dynamo Kiez 1 – Inter 0
    Debercen 1 – Fiorentina 1
    Rangers 1 – Urizeni 0

  464. Emperor gooner says:

paul..i posted the link just a few posts above..it’s decent

  465. gambon says:

    Who’s Arshavene?

  466. Pat says:

Rubin Kazan player scores from way outside the box

  467. Emperor gooner says:

omfg!!! diaby jus won a header!! fu**kin believe it

  468. gambon says:

    Songs a fucking muppet.

  469. Duke says:

    crazy shit with the goals…

  470. Pat says:

Anyone have a good stream? I can’t see shit

  471. Stu says:

fack sake VP. Look up before you shoot!

  472. gambon says:

How the fuck did rvp not score.

  473. Emperor gooner says:

    i could’ve scored that

  474. paul says:

    Emperor its frozen

  475. Jon Kabira says:

lol that’s just gone straight to the keeper

  476. Emperor gooner says:

paul workin fine fr me mate

  477. zeus says:

cant find a single stream that works.ahhhhhhhh

  478. Stu says:

Another problem with EBoue on the wing is that he thinks he is a playmaker like the ones who usually play wide and then he drifts into the middle trying to get involved when clearly he isnt good enough to do that. He should just be told to stay wide.

  479. Duke says:

    any better links?

  480. Geoff says:

I hope you’re all watching Song, so far he’s given away 2 free kicks and lost 3 tackles. Not that I’m watching.

  481. zeus says:

    @ gambon

I’ve been tryin that one. Nothing…..

  482. Pat says:

Rooney would dive there, for sure

  483. Stu says:

Cesc could have gone down and won a pk there. But if he did he would probably be labelled a diver.

  484. Pat says:

Lyon definitely the better side so far and it seems the 60 million plus euros of summer transfer spending is gelling together nicely for Claude Puel.

  485. zeus says:

appraoching 1/2 hour played and i haven’t seen a fucking kick.

You guys are my eyes then…..regular updates please

  486. SUGA3 says:

seems like we are looking to let AZ run out of steam and then hit them like a ton of bricks ;)

  487. Emperor gooner says:

    verminatorrrr solid as hell!!

  488. gambon says:

    AZ dominating at the mo.

  489. Geoff says:

Zeus our back four may as well go to bed, they’ve had nothing to do, Song and Eboue are shit, Diaby’s ok, everyone else is great, hope that helps.

  490. Emperor gooner says:

crap!! gerrard off…hope he doesnt miss manure

  491. Ja_Gunner says:

Fuckin AZ is trying to put us and the Arsenal players to sleep with their sideways passing….they just want to nick one and defend but they are killing the game…..we should up our urgency and kill them….

  492. dennisdamenace says:

A Bit of a nothing game at the moment……

  493. Geoff says:

    Gambon, they are going nowhere

  494. Pat says:

AZ are a great passing team. A friend I know who watches the Eredivise told me that they truly are like Arsenal. Less resources than other teams, but through beautiful football, they won the league last year when everyone counted them out.

Plus, Koeman’s Ajax tied us 1-1 and 0-0. Koeman’s PSV beat us 1-0 and tied 1-1 at the Emirates.

  495. Faceman says:

    ajaz btw geoffrey

  496. Geoff says:

Song should have stuck it foot in, bottled out and they almost scored.

  497. zeus says:

    thz guys keep em coming

  498. Ja_Gunner says:

Gambon they are not dominating…they are just keeping the ball and going nowhere…

They want to lull the Arsenal players to sleep so that they get complacent and then up the tempo like they did just a while ago…we need to realise this and press them…..

We cant stand off and let them pass or we going to get caught cold..

  499. gambon says:

Geoff, funny thing is when we do that its called “posession football”…..when other teams do its called going nowhere.

Fabregas passing off again, he has been playing 1 good game in 5 for the last 18 months.

  500. Pat says:

    Dominated?lol Its a borefest.

AZ has taken notes from last season’s Arsenal on how to lull the fans to sleep

  501. Ja_Gunner says:

    Good try Arshy!!!!!!!!!!

  502. Geoff says:

    Faceman, Ajax???

  503. dennisdamenace says:

What a fucking player AA is……….

  504. Pat says:

    2-3 in the Fiorentina match

  505. Geoff says:

I have a flaky connection, back in a bit.

  506. zeus says:

    wht did arshavin do?

  507. Faceman says:

the team we beat in the new ground 2 years ago was ajax not az

  508. Emperor gooner says:

verminator’s the man!! he just gets better n better

  509. zeus says:

Finally 1 of these fuckin link is working and already Im a bit bored.

  510. Stu says:

Zues, poor cross eentually came to Arshavin. He controlled and from a tight angle just shot over the bar and onto the roof of the net.

  511. gambon says:

    Song gives it away again.

  512. dennisdamenace says:

He cotrolled a cross into the box at the point it bounced abd in one movement got a shot off at goal………..that’s ability!

  513. gambon says:

I dont think thats the same Sagna we bought 2 years ago, someone switched him.

  514. dennisdamenace says:

He controlled a cross into the box at the point it bounced abd in one movement got a shot off at goal………..that’s ability!

  515. zeus says:

    Fuckin hell about time

  516. Pat says:

    goal!!

  517. Geoff says:

    What a goal!

  518. Jon Kabira says:

  519. dennisdamenace says:

Why are our fullbacks allowed anywhere near the attacking third, their ‘contributions’ are embarrassing!

  520. Stu says:

    GGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Dull atmposhpere….nicely worked goal tho. Cesc showing off his 6 pack…cunt.

  521. gambon says:

Cesc seems really happy with that goal!!!

  522. Ja_Gunner says:

    Yes fabregas!!!!!!!!

The game between Debercen must be fucking exciting 4-2 ans the first half aint done yet…..

  523. dennisdamenace says:

    Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaab4

  524. georgian1gunner says:

    god’s trio :D

  525. SUGA3 says:

    GET IN :!:

  526. Ja_Gunner says:

    Fiorentina 4 – Debrecen 2

    Must be axciting!!!!!!!!

  527. Emperor gooner says:

oh yaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!rvp , arsh n fab!!!! now imagine nasri n rosicky therre too..hmmm!!!!!orgasmmmmmmmm!!

  528. Stu says:

Ironicaly just as we scored i was in the middle of typing about how bad we were playing.

  529. dennisdamenace says:

    Booyakasha Mo’Fuckers!!

  530. SUGA3 says:

    We’ve got Cesc Fabregas

  531. georgian1gunner says:

it’s fab’s fifth goal this season :>:>:> very interesting

  532. Stu says:

Yeah 5th goal and how many assists does he have? 13 or something.

  533. alex says:

Arshavin has been really good tonight, attacking the defenders every time

  534. Pat says:

Masch having a good game for Liverpool supposedly.

Also, Gerrard’s substitution was precautionary, according to ESPN

  535. dennisdamenace says:

Stu – Did you notice that Hear No Evil, See No Evil and Speak No Evil were involved in that goal, just quality players Fab4, RvP and AA23……

  536. gambon says:

Think that was our 40th goal of the season, like Barca last season.

  537. Pat says:

Stankovic equalized with a long range effort, only for Lucio to score an OG. Dynamo up 2-1 in Italy

  538. zeus says:

Dull atmosphere but Arshavin is class, what a pass almost to RVP

  539. Stu says:

I did notice that DDM..thank fuck too. We mightny have scored with those involved.

  540. dennisdamenace says:

Go Go Gunners………..check out the travelling support…..

  541. zeus says:

B4 Mannone took that gol kick i realised some small balls about him. I dont need a Liverpool fiasco 2nite.

  542. Emperor gooner says:

    chase the sun

  543. Pat says:

RVP actually shot. Keeper was foolish to try and catch that

  544. Stu says:

Im liking this kit more and more everytime we play in it. I dunno who but it just feels so professional..

Great shot by VP, shame he doesnt just whack it more often..especially with the way the ball moves now.

  545. dennisdamenace says:

    Dodgy keepa, dodgy keepa!!

  546. zeus says:

    Arsh is such class

  547. Pat says:

RVP has been attempting plenty of overhead kicks lately

  548. Stu says:

Sagna should wear a shock collar so we can stop him crossing the half way line and ruining the attacks.

  549. alex says:

Ooo keeper nearly let it in. WOW Our fans are so loud! :)

  550. zeus says:

    TV5 is such class

  551. Stu says:

    Who scored for Liverpool?

  552. Pat says:

Nothing torn apparently for Gerrard and Liverpoolstill hopeful he will be involved on Sunday.

  553. Emperor gooner says:

    street beggar benayoun

  554. Mayank says:

Song having a crap game.. Seems exhausted… Diaby diong defensive work, Eboue anonymous… Good performance by the rest…

  555. zeus says:

U would never believe that that stadium holds 70,000 fans. For all the pre match hype about AZ being the ‘Dutch Arsenal’ they sure are dull and defensive based on the 15-18 mins I just witnessed.

  556. Pat says:

Benayoun. Lyon was on top until Gerrard came off. Strange

  557. zeus says:

How absolutely amazing would it be if Inter lost today?

  558. David says:

lets be honest the front 3 have been crap

  559. Samir says:

Hi lads, Whilst it’s half time anyone got a good link?
All seem to be crap…. :-(

  560. Swed says:

Can´t say that cesc has had a god game, bar the goal. Never seen him mis so many pases…

  561. Emperor gooner says:

lol..jus look at that panel….they all r like ” wake me up wen this gets over”

  562. finestcuts says:

Brilliant first half from us, AZ have made us work hard but they aren’t taking many shots, mainly because we’re dominating possession. So far so good. Mannone’s going to have a quiet night. Now they have to chance it if they want to try for the equaliser……which will suit us just fine. I can’t imagine Koeman going for damage limitation at this point.

  563. zeus says:

Just seeing the Arshavin chance on replay……..hehe this guy..

  564. Geoff says:

So Mayank, what happened to Song being world class then, like I said, just watch him, he’s ordinary.

If Wenger gets the chance he will play Diaby, Song and Eboue at the same time, if Denilson was fit, he’ll be in there too.

Diaby looks okay but Eboue and Song in the same side at the same time does not work.

  565. David says:

    we arent dominating possession.

And that first half was anything but brilliant.

We havent got out of 2nd gear and we’re 1-0. up

  566. Mayank says:

Lol Geoff, he’s having a bad game people have bad games let it go… At least i can be honest about it.

  567. Geoff says:

Stu he could borrow Song’s shock collar, he gets a shock everytime he passes to someone that doesn’t have two players bearing down on him.

  568. Emperor gooner says:

i think we’re playing pretty decent

  569. Geoff says:

I’m more honest though, I see it more than you do, then I suppose I watch us more eh!

  570. finestcuts says:

That’s your take David, when we have the ball we’re using it well, lots of wide shots from us tonight….AZ are a good team….we are controlling the tempo……they have had a few attacks but only one really threatening one, we should be 2-0 up really, their keeper had a lucky touch on RVP’s shot.

  571. Mayank says:

Just seeing a player bad side isn’t being more honest, it’s being biased…

  572. Faceman says:

zeus, would fooking love it, love it, if the portuguese cunt did not qualify from inters group

and at the moment they look fucked unless they beat kiev and being 2-1 down aint looking rosy

    COME ON KIEV

  573. Ja_Gunner says:

I hope Lyon Equalise……Lyon’s defence have been decimated by injury….they had Cris(only recognised CB) and Toulalan….but now Cris is out for the count…so this suits Liverpool……

BUt I just want to see how they handle the crisis if it worsens..so come on Lyon at least get a draw….

Fiorentina are in a good situation cuz they have the chance to rack up 6 points against Debrecen back to back..

Then again maybe its batter Liverpool go through…so that they will still have CL to distract from their title challenge….

    What do u guys think?

  574. Keyser says:

Song isn’t having a bad game, they’ve made it into the penalty area about twice, I think we’re playing ok, Alkmaar are trying to draw us out and ended up making the mistake.

  575. Paulinho says:

We’re getting away with being our typically dozy selves.

Arshavin has been great as has Vermaelen.

  576. David says:

its not my take finest its fact.

Possession is for AZ was 56% to our 44%.

  577. Samir says:

aMAZING PIC, no lag BUT not in english:
    http://tv.indonewyork.com/soccer8/

  578. chozzer says:

So to sum it up we’re 1-0 up away from home in spite of Song, Eboue and Diaby.
    Un-be-fuckin-leevable.

  579. gambon says:

    Awful challenge.

  580. dennisdamenace says:

    Dodgy Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepa!

  581. Pat says:

    Barca and Inter equalize

  582. Emperor gooner says:

    f**kn zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…..

  583. dennisdamenace says:

Jesus Christ was that a cros from Clichy????

  584. David says:

diaby is getting much much better.

  585. Geoff says:

Ha, ha you two are so blind I could sell you both a rats arse as a wedding ring, he’s given the ball away than anyone on the pitch.

  586. Pat says:

    eboue dive

  587. Stu says:

Stupid over reaction to a foul by Eboue.

  588. zeus says:

    Eboue…….looked like a dive

  589. Emperor gooner says:

i frgn love arshavin…even when he gives the ball away like that

  590. dennisdamenace says:

    You embarrassing cunt….

  591. Stu says:

Diaby aint looking bad because he is keeping things simple. Its when he tries to dribble and excludes his teammates that he fucks up.

  592. Pat says:

    arshavin you cheeky fucker!

  593. Emperor gooner says:

ooooooo rvp!!! nice save by jennifer lopez

  594. Keyser says:

Geoff – Honestly, if you’re going round selling rat’s arses, I’d be more worried about you, maybe you’re a little blind, where did you get them from in the first place ?!

    Hahaha..

  595. Swed says:

How stupid must EE be!!! Dosnt he understand how stupid he looks!

  596. Jon Kabira says:

Just put on one of Vela,Wilshere and Merida ffs

  597. David says:

that guy is offsides more times than Ade

  598. zeus says:

    Inter 2-2
    Barca 1-1

  599. Stu says:

Eboue thinks he is ronaldinho…fuckin idiot. Ended up losing us the ball and getting Gallas hurt.

  600. Pat says:

    Gallas’s teeth?

  601. Geoff says:

Now that’s what I mean, he finally finds a player, who has two on him and going away from goal with no one to give it to, what a footballing retard, sorry but he is.

  602. zeus says:

    Wilshere warming up

  603. Emperor gooner says:

    tongue i think

  604. Stu says:

Whats the story with Gallas’s knocked out teeth. Does he have new ones or is he all gumms and having to eat mashed bananas?

  605. Pat says:

Rangers are shit. 2 own goals

  606. Geoff says:

Keyser when they slip over the finger they are nice and snug, to a blind man they would feel like a wedding ring!

  607. dennisdamenace says:

Very poor opposition, very poor game…….

  608. David says:

    wow…im getting sleepy.

  609. raynor says:

the smell of rat poo I feel might give it away Geoff

  610. dennisdamenace says:

    Fuck the Scots……

  611. dennisdamenace says:

    Oh dear!

  612. zeus says:

Commentator so bored heis giving history lessons about both clubs.

  613. Ja_Gunner says:

Rangers are crap arent they…..Urizeni is murdering them at home 4-1…….they scored 2 own goals as well and missed a penalty……what crap….lol

  614. choy says:

    who’s getting married?

  615. Jon Kabira says:

David, try watching this game at 4am….I can fall asleep any time now…….

  616. gambon says:

Commentator so bored he is watching the newly painted wall dry.

  617. dennisdamenace says:

    Oi Oi Tony!

  618. SUGA3 says:

jeez, Rangers are shit – Premiership? Championship, maybe…

  619. Stu says:

Nice one Clichy…too eager and look what happens.

  620. raynor says:

  621. raynor says:

Can someone please tell Diaby to get the fuck out of our penalty area!!

  634. zeus says:

    Fucking cunt…………almost another own goal.

  635. raynor says:

Clichy is having a mare. Diaby close second. The Cesc, then Song, then Arsh, then Eboue, then Sagna.

Gallas and Verm pretty solid and keeper can really judge as only had 1 thing to do.

    Lame arse tonight

  636. dennisdamenace says:

    Does anyone want a dance??

  637. chozzer says:

    Mum in a window

  639. gambon says:

  640. Paulinho says:

As usual Wenger sits there and hasn’t got the balls to make some subs and freshen things up.

    So predictable.

  659. dennisdamenace says:

    Jesus!!

  660. David says:

    AZ are so shite.

  661. Jon Kabira says:

    shit ref

  662. dennisdamenace says:

    Sign him Arsene!!

  663. Stu says:

    Shocking defending from us.

  664. Paulinho says:

    Okay that’s a start Arsene.

    Midfield next please.

  665. zeus says:

well that was just cunty from the ref. What did Vela do?

    Lucky not to concede there

  666. raynor says:

you get the feeling if they score we might struggle a bit. Commentators saying we are comfortable, that would imply we are playing well. We are playing shit

  667. dennisdamenace says:

    Arsenal are unprofessional and lazy……

  668. Stu says:

Now that the crowd are getting behind Az we are either gonna panic and concede or we have to score again and silence them.

  669. gambon says:

How the fuck is that guy getting a shot at goal, we really are shit in defence, it takes so little to rattle us.

  670. Jon Kabira says:

Wilshere for Eboue and Merida for Diaby please……

  671. dennisdamenace says:

See fucking lazy, good cross and everyone watches it….

  672. Stu says:

Yet another poor cross. Where the fuck is Eboue playing. He is drifting all over the fucking front.

  673. Swed says:

Babel and Voronin is warming upp. Lyon must be shitting themselfs!

  674. Jon Kabira says:

He’s the pass master,he’s given license to roam anywhere he fuckin likes!

  675. Jon Kabira says:

    *been

  676. dennisdamenace says:

I have a theory – i think were are no struggling and playing crap beciase all our mug players are seeing the majority of the ball…..

  677. Pat says:

What the fuck does Wilshere have to do to get a game?

  678. Stu says:

    So whats the formation now?

  679. Geoff says:

At fucking last, get Song off as well and we might start playing football again.

  680. dennisdamenace says:

    Good riddance to bad rubbish…

  681. dennisdamenace says:

    Penalty!!

  682. Stu says:

Thats a fucking penalty! Cunt ref!

  683. Geoff says:

    Blind cunt.

  684. dennisdamenace says:

How the fucking hell is that not a penalty, you fucking joke cunt ref………

  685. David says:

the fact that Dembele hasnt even had one yellow card is disgraceful in itself.

    Useless ref

  686. dennisdamenace says:

    Brilliant defending Fab4

  687. lott says:

We are playing so casually, one would think it’s as if we are 6-0 up right already… We really need to cut this complacency out of our games..

  688. raynor says:

Song has had far too many of those lapses tonight where he just looks dazed and confused and passes the ball to his imaginary friend. poor tonight against opposition where he ought to shine

  689. dennisdamenace says:

    Titwank!

  690. raynor says:

lott = agree totally. mad performance, like we aint caring

  691. gambon says:

Pat, hes 17, there are maybe 10 17 years olds in history that played regularly for big teams.

He’s being overhyped cos he’s the great homegrown hope.

  692. dennisdamenace says:

Fuck me, how good is AA23?

  693. Jon Kabira says:

    No card ref?

  694. chozzer says:

    bumfucka

  695. Pat says:

Wilshere is nothing like an englishman. INesta looked exactly the same at that age

  696. gambon says:

Wish id watched the debrecen fiorentina game tbh

  697. Pat says:

RVP is on 2 yellows in the CL already. he should get one in the next game to be safe for the 1st knockout round, if we get there of course =D

  698. Geoff says:

    Raynor he’s always like that.

  699. raynor says:

think id rather have played on-line bingo tonight

  700. Swed says:

    YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEESSSSS – Lyon 2-1

  710. David says:

  712. Jon Kabira says:

    FUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  713. Paul88 says:

    typical

  714. gambon says:

    FUCKING PATHETIC

  715. Paulinho says:

Diaby in there for his height apparently.

What a fucking mong Wenger is.

  716. favre says:

    …………

  717. raynor says:

they deserved a point as at least they fucking tried tonight. We didnt even begin to play. Cant do that in Europe

  718. Geoff says:

That was down to Wenger for playing Song so long and not bringing on Wilshere, we would have been better with 10 men.

  719. dennisdamenace says:

And that is what you get when you play in second gear for 60 minutes, fucking lazy, fucking unprofessional, fucking shit opposition, and another clean sheet down the shitter, well done you fucking mugs…..

  720. Paul88 says:

unless we can stop doing this, we’ll win nowt.

  721. lott says:

fuck!!! 1-1, we were too casual. joke!

  722. dennisdamenace says:

Ha! Now the wankers show some urgency….

  723. AA23 says:

    Bollocks.
still at least B.B.K will be pleased so every cloud…

  724. SUGA3 says:

    F*ck! Sh*t! C*ck! A**! T**ies! B**er! B*n**! M*ff! P**sy! C**k! Butthole! Barbra Streisand!

  725. Geoff says:

That was like groundhog day, well done Arsene, I’m just glad I wasn’t there. Night all.

  726. favre says:

Didn’t Clichy talk about this shit in a recent article?

  727. Pat says:

Geoff, Song was not at fault for any of this. Cesc was worse than him today, open your damn eyes.

Watch all the fucking moaning commence. Who cares, we’re going to go through. Shit happens.

    First draw of the season

  728. Bloody Koeman brings on 2 6ft poles just for set-plays and he calls himself dutch.

  729. raynor says:

always like to make it hard for ourselves. Shit performance from us, couldn’t finish them. In fact didnt really trouble their keeper too much at all. Must do much better 2/10

  730. zeus says:

Cant we put in a professional fuckin display. Results against fulham shouyld be more common placed. They do NOTHING for ninety, 1 long ball over the top, no one attacks it and now after suffering through this shit game I can’t even say at least we got the 3 points
    FFS!

  731. rayman says:

Truly pathetic performance. But Pool and Barca lose inter drawing its not all bad….

  732. Stu says:

What a shit performance and result that was. All down to a lack of…anything really. Couldnt hold onto the ball, no urgency, no drive and everyone seemed to be there just for a nice afternoon stroll….fucking bastard!

  733. gambon says:

Geoff, it was more to do with our shit defence.

  734. finestcuts says:

Poor second half….AZ were worth their point I’m sorry to say…

  735. Jon Kabira says:

    Shit stuff

  736. Faceman says:

geoff, how the fuck was that to do with song?

    FFS

  737. David says:

    Have no words.

so much for fixing the defence.

  738. Emperor gooner says:

oh comeon guys!! we got a point…does it all really matter??? no….so chill the fuk out

  739. Paulinho says:

You’ll never hold onto leads in big games with spastics like Diaby seen as the one of the ‘big men’ who can clear the lines.

Eboue, Diaby, Song, Clichy. All dopey prats.

  740. Ja_Gunner says:

We are so fusking un professional..we stooped to their level…..and with Olympiacos scoring ..we will not any chance to rest players….

What a bunch of unprofessional idiots……

They really got lulled to sleep by the opponent…they should go the opponents level they should just crush them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    They are so complacent…

Might as well have given Wilshere or Merida a run out…

  741. Duke says:

    dennisdamenace Says:

And that is what you get when you play in second gear for 60 minutes, fucking lazy, fucking unprofessional, fucking shit opposition, and another clean sheet down the shitter, well done you fucking mugs…..

We should fucking stop at that and go to sleep, well said mate, well fucking said, no less what we fucking deserved, also glad I didn’t make the trip to Holland.

  742. incesc says:

    jeeeeeeeeeeesus

    that was some lazy shit.

1 – 1 doesnt really bother me though as long as they use all the energy they save to beat west ham.

    boring game

  743. David says:

    Wenger you Mug.

  744. chozzer says:

Chin up boys you could be a Barca fan losing at home.
    Or scouse, much much worse.

  745. tonyadamsisgod says:

Play like it doesn’t matter and that’s what you’ll get!

Personally I think Wenger should have stopped Arsenal going stale at about the 55 minute mark. Bringing on Wilshere would have been a good move as ball retention would have given us the advantage back!

  746. Stu says:

That was Diabys fault. That fucker he lost out to was huge too but isnt Diaby supposed to be there for his height and strength. He didnt even fucking jump the fucker!

  747. Maciek says:

Like I said, it ended 1:1. Shame, really. We must win at the Emirates and sign a proper cd and a cdm. And a keeper of course. Why Wenger doesn’t learn. What have Diaby ever brought to this team?

  748. Pat says:

Olympiakos away is a must win game if we want 1st.

    I think we’re a point above them

  749. Franchise says:

    What a lethargic performance

it seem we are already over believing our hype

    these guys should wake up

    what the fuck was that?

  750. Ja_Gunner says:

I meant to say we always stoop to the oppositions level………………why do we do that?

We were fuckiong lazy all because AZ played like crap..but that was the tactic…”lull us to sleep”

We should crush teams like this…..We were complacent and now we are 7 points……..and Olympiacos 6….and we play Olympiacos last so we cant afford to rest anybody if we want to win the group comfortably…..

  751. patthegooner says:

1-1 is not the end of the World

We were missing a lot of attacking players tonight (Theo, Eduardo, Nasri, Bendtner, Rosicky, Nasri) and still did ok.

Remember it is all about winning your home games in the CL, and we will still comfortably get through that group.

I am annoyed that we have switched off in the last minute…..again, but like I say not the end of the World.

Again though, Diaby was completely anonymous, WTF do we persist with starting him when he brings nothing to the table. Its ok though, cause he gets chance number 459 on Sunday against West Ham.

Cant complain about being Tired before West Ham though, we played well within ourselves there.

  752. gambon says:

    Pat,

Not really, if we beat AZ and Liege at home we will win the group.

  753. alex says:

That was a clear pen on Vela but only ourselves to blame. should have killed the game off before then. RVP shoulda scored in the 1st half

  754. patthegooner says:

Could be worse, could have just lost 2-1 at home to Lyon and lost Gerrard to an Injury again.

  755. treze13 says:

if liverpool never lost tonight i would be pissed

  756. David says:

why was it only Diaby going for the ball is the question.

It was a long ball from fucking midfield ffs.

  757. Emperor gooner says:

    lol..here come all the “experts”

  758. Jon Kabira says:

Will Diaby be dropped? No fucking way!

  759. chozzer says:

We always do better when we finish second in the group.

  760. paul says:

We’re all doomed. That should keep the whingers going for a while.

  761. patthegooner says:

Cue Jimbo and BBK for a moan

  762. Paul88 says:

I missed most of the match due to work.

Can someone tell me if rvp went of injured?

    Thanks

  763. incesc says:

we will get through dont worry guys

2 home games to go against standard and AZ thats 13 points.

Its disappointing but we had a lot of players out and song played well

  764. raynor says:

watching the relp, the marking for their goal was shocking. We just went to sleep…

  765. Stu says:

Emperor, you must be delighted. You wanted us to lose and get a kick up the arse. You almost got your wish.

  766. patthegooner says:

No paul, I think they just rested him incase none of the other Strikers are back by the Weekend.

  767. alex says:

Was it Diaby who lost the header?? FFs just cuz he’s tall don’t mean he can defend set pieces

  768. patthegooner says:

Thought both Song and Eboue played well again.

Infact apart from Diaby, it seemed that everyone did ok.

  769. Paul88 says:

    Cheers Pat

    That’s good to hear.

  770. Franchise says:

win ur first 4 games and qualify thats how to do it in the champions league

u can then test ur fringe players in the final two fixtures

1-1 is not the end of the world i know but we should use such games to learn how to put games to be

comon arsenal. arshavin and co didnt look like they wanted to play tonight what is going on?

do we think we are already the best in the world????

    hope they learn from this

  771. Pedro says:

Well, it was a bit of a poor match but Song played well as did Arshavin… and we didn’t lose away from home.

    I’ll take that.

It’s the shakyness at the back that’s worrying… we panic.

  772. AA23 says:

Patthegooner, dont blame Diaby mate, he’s quality, he just needs a chance etc…
How he’s rated higher than Song on here is a joke.

  773. Franchise says:

    **** put games to bed

  774. Jon Kabira says:

At least we didn’t lost at home to Rubin Kazan

  775. Emperor gooner says:

stu if you think i was being serious there , you’re obviously a dumbfuck

  776. gambon says:

    Pat,

The result isnt the end of the world, but once again we fail to keep a cleansheet, and once again we drop points late on.

Is there any team in the country that throws results away late as often as us?

ManUtd & Chelsea both get a 1-0 win in the same scenario.

A team that cant defend cant win trophies, and we cant defend.

  777. Paulinho says:

The irony is we played our strongest team available to ‘make sure’.

Problem is when you play the same eleven game after game they start sub-consciously start to coast and pace themselves.

Wenger does it every year. Never ever learns.

Vela, Wilshere should be starting these games otherwise there’s no point of them being in the first team squad.

  778. Emperor gooner says:

what on earth i wrong with arsenal fans here???

    it was away.we drew.big shit.any team can…we cant win every game 5-0

  779. David says:

Maybe if we had a quality defender to come in in the dying minutes of the game to add some concentration and height to the team.

BUY A FUCKIN DEFENDER FOR GODS SAKE!

  780. Stu says:

Well you said it Emperor so you’re definately a dumbfuck.

  781. Paul88 says:

I’m not concerned about tonight or indeed qualifying. But unless we can cut this out in the knock out phase we don’t stand a chance.

  782. Pat says:

Don’t really think we could have prevented that one tbh. You can’t defend every set piece. Delivery was perfect, guy was huge. Oh well.

Is this the same Mendez that scored against us 2 years ago(playing for PSV)?

    So, Wenger vs. Koeman:
    -Wenger=0 wins
    -Koeman= 1 win
    -4 draws

  783. zeus says:

This whole day would be a fucking write-off if Inter didn’t lose and bottom the table. Well on their way to being laughing stocks selling Ibra to get Sneijder and Eto’o so they could do better in Europe. Now its likely they wont even make it to the knockout stages.

Unprofessional as fuck performance from us. To those who think AZ tried you couldn’t be more wrong. B4 their goal theyclosest they got was Diaby’s fucking effort.

1 Long ball over the top = Arsenal conceding a goal.

  784. lott says:

I know we will go through comfortably but why do we make life hard for ourselves, we could have played like we care and won 4 or 5 nil. I don’t think many of our players broke out into sweats. Arsene for once should cut this calm, relax, fatherly approach crap and give them a good bollocking for having a sunday stroll with misplaced passes on a champions league night! Complacency at its worst. It’s 4:50am here and to think i missed my beauty sleep for this. Only arshavin were trying to finish the game of towards the end.

  785. AA23 says:

David do you think we’d have won if Bendtner was playing?

  786. Stu says:

We would have won if bendtner was playing because then Eboue wouldnt have started.

  787. gambon says:

    Paul,

Why should Wilshere be starting vital away CL games? Last time he started a game at this level he looked well out of his depth.

Hes 17 FFS, let him ease his way into the team & stop trying to make him our saviour.

  788. Micky Did It 89 says:

Feel sorry for the guys who went. Sounded like a lazy performance, but all will be well. We will cruise this group.

  789. patthegooner says:

    Gambon

I just feel that if we had a few more attacking options available to us there, we would have closed that game out quite comfortably. I think it is a credit to the depth of the squad that we put out the team that we did and control the game so well.

  790. David says:

    AA23.

Dont piss me off please. Im on the edge as is.

  791. choy says:

A wake up call for the team, we can still top the group.

Just hope we put a better performance at the weekend!

  792. Stu says:

We cant win every game convincingly but when its 1-0 and in stoppage time we shouldnt concede a shit goal and delay our qualification into the knock out stage.

  793. patthegooner says:

    Eboue played well Stu.

  794. zeus says:

Since this was just a stroll, they better fucking hit West ham for fucking 6 come Sunday.

  795. Franchise says:

emperor a combination of performances like that plus other things has ensured we have won fuck all in four years

we need to remain switched on

think about the key games we have lost in the past in which we took the lead

we need to develop a ruthless streak…. have no mercy

    its a mind set

  796. David says:

    Bendy does absolutely fuck all.

  797. gambon says:

    Pat,

Scoring isnt the answer, learning to defend is.

Even the best attacking tems often have to win 1-0, unfortunately we are utterly incapable of winning 1-0 on a regular basis.

    Ironic really!

  798. Only fabregas says:

    gambon

When did Wilshere started a game and looked out of his depth? You’re being economical with the truth.

  799. Micky Did It 89 says:

Know what you mean, Zeus, but I’ll take a 1-0 Sunday.

  800. Emperor gooner says:

i don’t mind the draw and the way we conceded the goal too cuz it might as well haunt us in such a game rather than in the league…atleast now there’d be more effort to do away with these kind of errors and complacency

  801. AA23 says:

    I cant help it David.
I have to take it out on someone and Ethan isnt here.

  802. David says:

My question is…if we are an attacking team.

Whatever happnd to going for the Jugular?

  803. paul says:

Emperor you must be new on here. There are some that are not happy unless they have something to moan about even when we play well they will focus on a negative.Hopefully they never get to a game they would not know how to get behind them.

  804. gambon says:

    Only Fabregas,

Porto last year, looked well out of his depth.

Stop thinking an unproven 17 year old is god.

  805. patthegooner says:

    Fair One Gambon

Unfortunately it was Diaby who is played for his height yet was playing like a fucking tortoise and did not jump that cost us.

  806. Paulinho says:

    Gambon.

I would class playing Wilshere in a semi-important champions league game – his first start of the season – as ‘easing’ him into the season. Especially when mr no end product Eboue is the only other option.

It’s a football match, not a UFC event.

Point is, this same team has to play at West Ham now, when they could have had a break tonight. Song in particular is playing 90 minutes twice every single week.

  807. Micky Did It 89 says:

Top of the league within 2 weeks. Can’t be all bad. My principal moan about tonight, is Eboue plays right back, that’s it.

  808. Jon Kabira says:

We’re also hit with complacency in the league last season…this season it happen again….same old same old…

  809. David says:

    Alot of things cost us.

Cesc passing was horrible. We had a 3 on 2 situation and he passed it to the keeeper.

  810. gooner786 says:

    CACK GAME!!

  811. Hitman says:

Unbalanced squad. Team of midgets. Not enough big/tall players.
Result = Out fought in midfield. Beaten by a setpiece. Buy some Wenger. Your supposed to be a manager.

  812. nishanth says:

I don’t think i have ever been so disappointed and frustrated watching a match. Our perfromance wasn’t great but it wasn’t that which bothered me.Wenger has made it fucking clear now that he has his favourites and he will keep them happy no matter what happens.I don’t think this draw will hurt us that match but if he continues this trend it will hurt us soon. Why did eboue and diaby get a start?Diaby had a good game today. But thats not the point i am making.Even if he had a really bad game he would just walk into the team ahead of ramsey, wilshere and vela.Same applies to eboue. It is indeed really depressing to see the talented ones left out

  813. SharkeySure says:

AA23 Diaby is rated more highly than Song, only one person on LG makes that statement, and its just to slate Song.

Over the 90 Song looked our hungriest player, and played very well, albeit with one or two loose passes.

We’re always gonna suffer a bit as a team when Fabregas plays as poorly as he did tonight.

  814. Paulinho says:

Exactly Franchise; it’s the not a big deal in isolation, but we see this same trend and weakness every single year.

  815. gambon says:

    David,

    Its called playing tactically.

  816. Emperor gooner says:

    yep paul..i can definitely see that..well each to his own i guess!!m off..night every1 !!

  817. Jaguar says:

Diabolical. What a fucking waste of space. Why the eff did he play the full 90 minutes.

  818. zeus says:

    @ Micky Did It 89

That will never happen. If we are incapable of holding a 1-0 lead to a Dutch side, hoe the hell do we expect to hold such a lead to an English side that constantly throws ball over the top into the box. I hope your right, but the Fulham result is a rarity with this Arsenal team. Really missed Rosicky today, his guile craft and classs would have made passing a bit easier, oh well…….

  819. Pat says:

knockout phase is a completely different mindset. Damn, some people here are clueless.

we’re pretty much through. Thats the goal. Its actually better that we drop points in a semi-meaningless game so that it puts us back down to earth.

Some people just never stop fucking complaining. Honestly, they must lead depressing lives. Cheer the fuck up

  820. choy says:

We’ve always had problems against the dutch teams in holland..

now someone needs to wake the team up, we can’t be complacent!

  821. SharkeySure says:

Eboue’s vbest position IS at RB, but he’s won MoM playing in other positions.

This draw tonight is not a good reason to go back to slating the three scapegoats, and talking bollox about Arsene’s favourites.

Those self same ‘favourites’ have done OK for us so far…no matter how much some of you seem to want them to fail.

  822. patthegooner says:

    Out of 10

    Mannone 6
    Sagna 6
    Vermaelen 7
    Gallas 7
    Clichy 6
    Song 8
    Cesc 7
    Diaby 4
    Eboue 7
    Arshavin 7
    RVP 7

  823. B.B.K. says:

c’mon guys cheer up were gonna win the treble

  824. nishanth says:

The annoying thing is that the same team will start against west ham if no one comes back from injury.Vela and ramsey will miss out again

  825. freduardo says:

poor performance. disjointed and panicky against a team we should be beating comfortably.

  826. patthegooner says:

    Well Said Sharkey.

Given the injuries, I think that was pretty good result tonight. Jesus Liverpool are missing only 2 players and are now complete cack.

It is always gutting to lose a goal in the last minute, but I am ok with the result and the performance.

  827. AA23 says:

    Here he is.
Go on B.B.K wake these deluded fuckers up.

  828. David says:

It was such a shite game. I almost have a headache.

We scored off an error nothing that we created per say.

To be fair we shouldve had a nailed on penalty.

The day we win with Shite refereeing then we will be champs.

  829. SharkeySure says:

    Jaguar…”Diabolical”….y..a..w..n..!!!!

How do you think our skipper played tonight then….or is that not on your radar, cos you’re so obsessed with Diaby.

Give us a few rational thoughts on where Diaby went wrong or cost us tonight…??

    Don’t deafen me with silence….

  830. gambon says:

    Pat,

So i suppose every year you think everythings all rosy. Then when we get knocked out by liverpool you think “oh, i guess theres next year”, then we get knocked out by man Utd, and you think “oh, maybe next year”, and youll do the same when we go out this year.

The clues are there again that we arent strong enough defensively, if you wanna ignore it & convince youself all is well then great.

  831. Jaguar says:

I am happy with a point. But the real point is why that fucking waste of space called Diabolical play the full 90 minutes.FFS,Drop that idiot.Luckily,we didnt concede a goal. The only time that headless chicken heads a football is to direct it into his own net.

  832. Pat says:

gambon, Wilshere came on against porto when we were already getting well beaten. Nice try though.

  833. SharkeySure says:

Sorry David but this is just too funny not to be posted twice….

    AA23 Says:

    October 20, 2009 at 21:53
David do you think we’d have won if Bendtner was playing?

  834. nishanth says:

PTG..Its not a case of result today. Why does wenger stick with the failed formula again and again.Hasn’t he realised or noticed yet that eboue can’t play in midfield?Diaby had a good game today. But the thing is that even if he had a bad game he would have still completed 90 minutes and also would have started the next game. This will hurt us big time at some stage in the season

  835. AA23 says:

I’m not sure if people realise it when they have a go at him but Jaguar is an actual Jaguar, give him a break, its hard to type with paws let alone make any sense.
Diaby is shit though, even a big cat can see that.

  836. Pedro says:

Sharkey, whatever you think about Eboue… he shouldn’t be playing right midfield. He was anonymous tonight…

The thing is… if we’d won tonight, it would have been a professional champions league performance.

I’m not losing my head over it… Song and Arshavin were very good tonight.

  837. Paulinho says:

    Pat;

    What injuries?

We were only Rosicky away from having our first choice side out – bar the obviously injured Nasri.

  838. Pat says:

Olympiakos have won 2 games in stoppage time now

  839. choy says:

We will have rosicky instead of eboue.

  840. wenger's boss says:

i dont see anything wrong with this draw.i think the teams main aim was to get maximum points without getting any injury so that could be why were bit lethargic.though defending could have been better.
if barcelona can lose at home why on earth we cant draw away

  841. Jaguar says:

Comparing Cesc with Diaby?I would rather be silent,Sharkey.I would give a fitting reply to your question, once that waste of space, scores a goal, and give assists for three goals in a match.

  842. zeus says:

Wearing a big smile on my face after hearing about Pool last minute loss

  843. nishanth says:

Choy what is he isn’t for west ham?You think wenger will play vela or eboue in midfield

  844. gambon says:

Fact of the matter is that Diaby & Song were far better than Cesc tonight…

But….Cesc did his job and scored a goal, Diaby didnt do his in stoppage time.

Diaby embodies whats wrong with the club, easy on the eye, some great moments, but not a winner.

  845. David says:

Not sure why that is funny.

  846. Ja_Gunner says:

Yeah Franchise and Paulinho….we really lack the killer instinct dont we…..it is going to cost us if we dont cut
    out this fucking complacency….

I just hope Wenger starts…..a front three of

    Arshavin……..RVP………Vela

    against West Ham……

Eboue is great running at the opposition but is finishing is horrible..

Please Arsene start Vela and let us score some goals….
And also Song needs a rest soon…

Maybe thats why he didnt look all that good today

  847. David says:

    I dont appreciate being Taunted.

I dont hate the bastard but its shite like that that make me hate the fucking shite twit.

  848. Franchise says:

its too minor an incident to get me tripping

im judging this team in May (hopefully)

I think we would be in with a shout come crucnch time but would we have what it takes to end our mini-trophy drought especially the league

    i do hope so

arshavin, vp and song look like they could do with a rest

song is probably the denilson of this year he would be played until he burns the fuck out

  849. choy says:

    nishanth,

then i think it is eboue :(

  850. Pat says:

Paulinho, Diaby and Eboue aren’t 1st choice

  851. patthegooner says:

Gambon, if you know me on here, I will say what I think.

I don’t think everything is rosy, but I certainly think it is heading in the right direction.

Sure I would love another CB and DM, but we didn’t sign one, so I am going to see how it goes.

I am not ignoring anything. We would probably have lost that game this time last year, but this year we have drawn it and should have won it.

Nishanth, I agree with you on that. Although I thought Diaby was pants today, infact he was more pants than normal, he just wandered around like he was on a sunday afternoon walk with the dog. The game just happened around him, it was like having a fan on the field, and I think you can see that the likes of Cesc dont have belief in him, as on a number of occaisions a simple pass was on to Diaby, yet they held on until someone else more capable was free. You are right he will play on Sunday though, he is un-droppable.

  852. David says:

Clearly Wengers fualt if we had a Defender to sub in to shore up the line to keep the clean sheet we’d be celebrating 3 points.

  853. gambon says:

    Pedro,

Youre right, a 1-0 win away at any team in the CL is a very good result.

However we didnt get a 1-0 win.

  854. choy says:

next game ahead lads.. 3 points at upton park is vital.

we all know that is not an easy place to go to!

  855. SharkeySure says:

Nish “Its not a case of result today. Why does wenger stick with the failed formula again and again.” 0- are tiu serious….

It won us 7 on the bounce – that might be why

  856. gambon says:

    Patthegooner,

    Wasnt directing that at you.

  857. patthegooner says:

    Pedro,

    Good Point,

I was going to post “Professional job well done” until Forest “Diaby” Gump fucked up.

  858. nishanth says:

Exactly choy. Its fucking pathetic if you ask me.Forget todays result. We will qualify as champions out of this group. Its the team selection that really worries me.I am sure wenger knows vela will be more effective than eboue. But he just has to play eboue

  859. patthegooner says:

    No Worries Gambon.

  860. Franchise says:

its funny that some ppl just come on here to complain about ppl that moan about arsenal

where is the fun in blogging? 8)

i would rather listen to an opinionated blogger who wants to talk positive or negative about a game, player or club than listen to one just moaning about other bloggers

    shalom (o)

  861. choy says:

    chozzer,

looks like it was a draw day for arsenal!

looking at the other results, 1 point is not too bad!

  862. gambon says:

    nichanth,

Wenger sees Vela as a striker, not a wide player.

  863. patthegooner says:

If Liverpool lose on Sunday, I reckon the Fat Spanish Waiter might get the boot.

  864. nishanth says:

SS-Eboue wide right in midfield had nothing to do with u winning 7 games in a row.Diaby also contributed very little towards that 7 match winning streak.

  865. Pat says:

In other news, Nasri got a neat assist today

  866. A says:

nisanth it’s a tough away game, where he knew we wouldn’t dominate the possession, especially as the players are pretty tired, so eboue played as he’s makes us much more solid defensively. I really don’t get people not understanding why eboue plays in a game of this nature rather than vela.

We should have put the game beyond doubt, blatant penalty not given, and we were very complacent in front of goal, pretty cocky in fact, arshavin especially, and diaby was retarded for their goal. If it had happened with ten minutes to go then I’d have expected us to up it and score, just a frustrating result but no big deal. Could even be a good thing, we’ve looked pretty complacent last few games, hopefully that last minute equaliser will knock us out of it and we’ll be a bit more professional finishing off west ham

  867. nishanth says:

Gambon-If wenger thinks eboue can do a job in midfield surely vela can do a job there. He played out wide for osasuna too.In this 4-3-3 system vela can do well playing wide

  868. choy says:

    pat

    i hope pool win though

  869. gambon says:

    PTG,

A friend of mine is well connected at liverpool, apparantly they cant afford to sack him cos of the payoff

If they lose the next 2 (UTD, us) then they will have to rethink that.

  870. paul says:

I see Jay Simpson scored for QPR again thats five so far since his loan.

  871. Jaguar says:

I am not a whining merchant, mates.I would stick up for any player in an Arsenal shirt except Diabolical and Shitvestre.Diabolical, despite his umpteen chances, havent improved by a bit,and is taking his place for granted.I hope he gets shipped off to a club, where the boss would tell him
    ‘Perform or fuck off’.

  872. nishanth says:

A-How does playing someone who keeps giving the ball away make us more solid? And don’t we already have 2 defensive players in song and diaby protecting the back 4

  873. gambon says:

Well at least we can rinse Mittal for as much as possible if they want to sign Simpson.

  874. Pedro says:

Amen to that Franchise… moaning about the moaners… Zzzzz…

When you’ve been blogging here for longer than a week, you know what the drill is over here!

Mind you, some people are getting their knickers in a twist over a 1-1 draw.

David, Wenger can’t win. If he’d brought on a defender to shore up the back… people would have said we’d invited and attack… if he brings on an attacker, people moan he should have brought a defender on.

Give me the attacking option all day… Diaby should have dealt with the header better. He’s a professional footballer and 6ft 4… he should be winning regardless of where he likes to play.

  875. patthegooner says:

    Gambon

Really? Jesus, they are in the shit aren’t they.

  876. choy says:

Diaby is not defensive in any way!

  877. Paulinho says:

This Eboue proving defensive cover shite has gotta stop. The guy was roaming around tonight like he thought he was Luis Figo. Shame he literally has zero end product and runs into dead ends.

  878. SharkeySure says:

Pedro you gave Eboue MoM playing right side of the front three before.

He’s better at RB, but he ain’t pants anywhere else. Not too hot tongiht granted…but c’est la vie

  879. Bozin says:

Pedro or Geoff please DO NOT be soft on the team tomorrow!

What I witnessed tonight was just pathetic and I can’t pick one stand-out performance! We did not play good, however we had chances to finish it off (by not being selfish!), yet we didn’t.

    So frustrated atm.

  880. Ja_Gunner says:

Hey guys do you think that Rafa will play Gerrard/Torres if fit against us in the CC?

Do you think he will get that desperate that he will go after the Carling Cup?

Surely he would not be so stupid….he can still make a come back in the league especially if they drop out of the CL…..

That maybe a blessing in disguise for them so that they can focus on the league/FA cup only….

    What do u guys think?

  881. Pat says:

Liverpool have lost 4 in a row, probably 5 come this weekend

  882. David says:

    Pedro

We need a Defender not just for those situations.

But we kinda need one for many reasons.

    Why blame Diaby?

Should it be only Diaby going for the ball?

  883. gambon says:

The thing we have to worry about is our ever present injury list.

Eboue is basically our 5th choice RM, behind Rosicky, Walcott, Nasri, Bendtner

The fact that all four, as well as Denilson & Djourou are out is unbeleivable, something isnt right in the way these guys train.

  884. Franchise says:

with the 7 wins since the city loss, this team has shown that it can do well this year.

we should however learn to put teams away as early as possible

it would allow the fringe players to get more game time and the regulars a breather

if i remember the freak birmingham game of 07/08 we came back from a goal down and went 2-1 up then we decided to coast the game until everything went sour. it took us 6 games to recover cos we refused to get into 2nd gear to destroy a 10 man birmingam team

comon arsenal u r better than this

  885. Pedro says:

David, for someone who’d probably blame Bendtner for tonights loss if he was in the crowd… you are very forgiving to your favourites.

In answer to you question; yes, only one player should be challenging for that ball. That’s basic football… call for the ball, so only one of you goes for it.

What situation would you expect two players to go for the same ball?

  886. SharkeySure says:

Pedro – “Mind you, some people are getting their knickers in a twist over a 1-1 draw.”

Is that not you moaning about the moaners then..??

But if you are here longer than a week (8 days) and say that people on LG moan a lot you tell us they don’t and tat different opinions inspire debate.

People moan, others moan about the moaners (MATM).

For me its only the extreme views that I pull people up on…if thats MATM then yeah I’m guilty as charged.

    Oh fuck…is this me moaning… ;-)

  887. David says:

I’ll take Eboue over Bendy everyday of the week.

  888. Pedro says:

Sharkey, considering Eboue has played about 70 games for us in right midfield… one MoM is a pretty poor showing.

I’m over slating him when he plays there… he’s a right back. He shouldn’t be there… Vela, Jack or Rambo should be stepping in if Rosicky is injured.

  889. Pedro says:

Sharkey, triple moaning is my specialty. ;-)

  890. David says:

    Bullshyte.

I havent and didnt blame Bendy for anything except being shite which he is.

    Are you kidding?

Long ball from midfield and only one player should go for it?

Wow…I must not know basic football then.

  891. gambon Says:
    October 20, 2009 at 21:55

    Paul,

Why should Wilshere be starting vital away CL games? Last time he started a game at this level he looked well out of his depth.

Hes 17 FFS, let him ease his way into the team & stop trying to make him our saviour.

    ————————————————

Spot on, also a tactical point of view, they 8 6ft players to our 5 so putting in wilshere would have been stupid unless the team is already well stocked in height. It also emphasises that we need NB fit for set-plays, as Koeman was sticking in giants taking out his 5ft 8 players, it would have been perfect to have Theo to penetrate with 1 ball thus Keoman would have been more cautious in sticking them on.

As for others saying we should buy defender with height, then we might give away technique for starting attacks from defence http://arsenalcolumn.wordpress.com/2009/10/19/thomas-vermaelen-represents-a-sweeping-change-to-arsenals-backline/

If we win the 2 next home games, we win the group.

  892. zeus says:

I think some people are being too blase about this goal. Our defence had time to set themselves. It was just 1 long ball str8 down the middle. We should defend that easily.

  893. SharkeySure says:

Jaguar 22:14 Fucking hilarious cop out that !!!

I won’t trouble you any further.

  894. Pedro says:

Ja, I don’t think so… those two are made of glass, losing them to us would be unthinkable! Especially in the Carling Cup!

  895. freduardo says:

the way we seem to pick up endless injuries is really worrying. Al, Fabianski, JD, Rosicky, Denilson, Nasri, Eduardo, Bendtner Walcott all out tonight.

  896. nn says:

back to the bad old days wen we turn up like big time charlies believing in our own hype thinking we.ve won the game already.Lazy football,no respect for the other team and paid the price in the end. that is the big flaw in this team and wenger cant seem to get rid of it. its cost us in the past and has,nt gone away.Wenger should have hauled diaby.arshavin and clichy off for their shocking performances and gave a good dressing down.

  897. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    1. Expect the tapping up to intensify of Barcalonely for Cesc. All those chaps who big up this big fish in a little pond spanish club would be running for cover now

    2. Great to see the European nights @ Anfield turn into a nightmare. No Gerrard to arse out a result this time. Also, an overrated team IMO, &

    3. Song I can tolerate, Eboue as a right back, but Diaby in the same starting 11 as those 2 is a luxury. Oh well, I hope Le Gaffer learns now about this factor, than later when The Arsenal play better quality teams.

  898. SharkeySure says:

Pedro…my reference point for Eboue at RM is this season so far.

You’ll not get too much disagreement from me about last season.

  899. David says:

Diaby isnt my favorite. Ive said he is shite many many many times.

  900. Pedro says:

David, if you think two players from the same team should challenge for the ball… then you don’t know much about football.

Do you play for a team out of interest?

  901. Pedro says:

Sorry if that seems rude, but that really is basic football…

  902. freduardo says:

also worrying how we always struggle with a big humped ball through the middle

  903. patthegooner says:

Right that is me for the night.

Not great but not the end of the World. We will win the group.

And for those Gooners out there, that will struggle to sleep tonight, as they are analysing where we fucked up and who fucked up, spare a thought for the Scousers in the Red half of Merseyside, have a chuckle and have a good night sleep…….They Wont.

  904. SUGA3 says:

    David,

Diaby cost us 2 points again, as putting in a shift at the end of the game is just beyond him…

4-4 agaist dippers? 2-2 against Villa? shall I continue?

  905. Pedro says:

Right, I’m off for the evening.

See you tomorrow for the review!

  906. SharkeySure says:

Pedro – I’d wanna punch any player who jumped for a ball I’d already called!!

I’ve had teeth knocked out by dozy fuckers who jump without calling.

    CARDINAL SIN.

Yeah thats in fucking caps !!!! FFS. FACT..what else can I put for emphasis…..?? Oh yeah – I used to play CB for Lewisham Borough in the Kent County League

  907. SharkeySure says:

    Nite Ped, nite all,

    I’m offski too…

  908. Pat says:

One player going for the header is as basic as you get David. Its called communication and only one player is supposed to go for it.

  909. Pedro says:

Thanks for clearing that up Pat/Sharkey!

    Night!

  910. zeus says:

Wenger told Sky Sports: “We feel frustrated because we felt superior to this team.

“We had a good performance and couldn’t take advantage of our chances. And in the final minute we got caught. That’s the Champions League.

“You need focus for 93 minutes. We made maybe one mistake and we paid for it.

“We had the opportunity just before to score the second goal but got caught offside.

“Then we had the ball in the box. Away from home sometimes you get these kind of goals.”

Wenger also pointed to an incident in the second period when Carlos Vela went down in the AZ penalty area but was not awarded a spot-kick.

He added: “I think yes, that looked clear because he was in front. It will be interesting to watch again.”

  911. freduardo says:

so any news on how nasri got on for the reserves, i think i heard he got an around an hour…

  912. Keyser says:

Heh, a draw and the expert pundit blog types are out with all sorts of reasons for the metaphorical loss, end of title challenge, knocked out of all competitions analysis.

We could’ve had a penalty, probably should’ve, away to Alkmaar, we didn’t play all that well and still were coasting to a victory that we deserved.

We’re not going to win anything without key players, and with a squad full of injured players, but with two losses under our belt we’re still in a pretty strong position.

Yeah the numbnuts will try to derive satisfaction from this having waited for a draw after 7 wins, but thats for miserable gits, hopefully we’ll get a bit of a rest until we play on Sunday.

  913. reggie57 says:

So what a 1-1 draw away from home is a good europeon result in my book, the team played shit and still never lost so whats the problem?

  914. freduardo says:

    cheers zeus

  915. SUGA3 says:

    could be worse
    you could be a Scouse
    eating rats
    in a council house…

  916. reggie57 says:

Or you could be a manc
    having a wank
    and thick as a plank!

  917. SUGA3 says:

    lol, reg :)

  918. Confidentgoner says:

    Calm down grovers!

This match was very tough. Credit to Akmar and their coach, they matched us and never stopped probing to score. I hope Wenger will harp o the need to be focussed and professional and the need to give 100%. Diaby, clichy were not in the game and deserve to have been subbed.

  919. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Well said Keyser. I’d rather be an Arsenal fan than any other as @ 21/10/2009, 9.16am EDST

  920. gambon says:

    Confident,

Wenger had the chance to harp on about focus after the Liverpool game at Anfield last year, or the Villa game, or the Spurs game.

He doesnt care about defence therefore neither do the team.

  921. Ja_Gunner says:

I actually think we have a chance to win the CL this year…..

    Here is why……

    1. Barca are not clicking on all cylinders this year..
    2. It is possible we can avoid English teams
    (a) Liverpool seem like they wont make the knock outs
    (b) Manure and Chelsea are weaker than last year
so other teams can knock them out.
    3. We can beat all the continental teams with our new 4-3-3
as long as we dont get compacent.

  922. David says:

    Pedro

Tell me what the fuck is the point in bringing everybody back to defend for a set piece when there is only one player going for the ball?

Rubbish. I was taught if you are in the area…go for it. And ive played right back my whole life.

  923. Stu says:

Derren Brown is one crazy fucker!

  924. A says:

David you were taught wrong then, as many on here have said! You bring everyone back because you either man mark, or zonal mark, so you have the number of players back to cover all their players, with a men on the posts, or to cover the designated zones.

If two of players from the same defending team compete for the same ball then one of them has either left his zone, or lost his man.

  925. A says:

ah maybe that’s why you really don’t rate bendtner and like ade so much – you’ve been coached incorrectly so you think bad things that players do are good, and vice versa?!

  926. B.B.K. says:

t.b.h if we can’t beat az then there’s nothing there for us

  927. Ja_Gunner says:

A what do you think of my comment at 23:25?

  928. MARK GOONER says:

    diaby is a liabilty defendng

last year at porto, united and twice tonight

apart from that we were in 2nd gear
weve had a good start this year and must not forget that, were a point off the top in lge and top and nearly through in europe
were playing very good football (apart from 89 mins tonight)
were scoring goals, and with nasri theo and vela who have hardly kicked a ball all season coming back, the future is looking good.

we really miss roiskcy, the 3 games he hasnt started this year are the only 3 games we havent won, coincidence it maybe but he offers us what arshavin offers us in terms of passing ability and energy, something that neither diaby or eboue have

certain fans on here want us to fail, so they can say i told u so, at the end of the day we cvan challenge for league, we have more match winners in our squad then any other team in league, and yes we do need to add to certain areas for cover. apart from that we are in a healthy position

plastic gooners who have only started watching the arsenal since the invicibless

  929. MARK GOONER says:

i wonder if thats wat barca are saying bbk, or inter

  930. A says:

    lol bbk

yeah i’d agree ja, though i still think our best chance is in the league rather than the champs league. I still worry about our players’ naivety in the big games, always potential for a diaby to head in an own goal

  931. MARK GOONER says:

thats nothing to do with naivety, thats because diaby is a pussy when it comes to winning a header, arshavin would do better job man marking on set pieces

  932. Ja_Gunner says:

Yeah A we are naive….but the English wont dominate the CL this year…therefore if we can avoid them…..I think we have enough to beat the continental teams because alot of them actually try to play football.

I see only Chelsea as a threat in the CL……

Liverpool are almost out……and Manure will get knocked out..they just dont have the qaulity….

If I were Rafa Benitez I would give up on the CL and carling cup….

If he focuses on the league only and maybe the FA cup he has a chance to mount a come back.

  933. Stu says:

Well wasnt that one of the most boring arsenal performances of recent memory. Its probably mostly because of what we hae already had entertainment wise this season but even still…most of the match was a borefest.

The most exciting part was the last 10minutes waiting for the final whistle and then they score and ruin it all..bastards.

Honestly after that match neither team deserved to win but its still hard to take not winning after conceding the equaliser in the 92nd minute. I would have gladly taken a 1-0 win before the match started and am gutted that we didnt win.

  934. Zorr0 says:

Well all I have to say is that the lads looked very half hearted tonight!

Diaby is a cunt who cannot head the ball and is a big pussy, who I would drub into the ground if I played against the twat! He would need a torch so he wouldn’t get scared of the dark inside my pocket! Look at the piss poor pathetic challenge on Pelle for their goal; cunt!

Mind you, Fabregas must look at the fact he let the guy drift away from him to score in what was very poor marking and shite concentration when you know the other team is just going to knock a hail mary into the box!

  935. nn says:

rubbish mark gooner. anybody who is a bit critical is a plastic? fuck off. people like u really piss me off . ur the plastic. might as well close this site down if everybody thought like u

  936. Keyser says:

nn – Heh, do you think that your post there might piss people off ?!

I doubt he was talking about people who were a ‘bit ceritical’, he’s talking about the twunts that only turn up to rub a loss, fuck even a draw in, by swinging their E-sticals around.

They can’t lose, if we win, their Arsenal fans anyway, if we don’t they can rip the other Arsenal fans about how shit their team is.

  937. chris says:

Fell asleep , woke up 1-1

Just saw their goal on dig1 and skim read the chat

Am I mad? I’ve got it as Vermaelen didn’t context the first header, Song (who the Arsenal Land boys have got as MoM by miles) let the guy go past him and Gallas didn’t close down the shot when he did?

No-one seems to be blaming any of these guys but Diaby is getting slated?

Apparently Nasri played well for 60mins for the reserves (who also conceded from a free kick in a 2-2 at Wolves)

    Going back to bed now.

  938. ethangunner says:

get eboue – diaby and song all together and we just look flat ..

the drops of creativity where far and few between
delivered by cesc and AA , RVP looked like he was up for it but , AGAIN poor selection left him an unloaded gun ..

FLAT – BORING – PLAY FOR A DRAW AWAY MENTALITY .

wenger lost us full points last night ..

  939. freduardo says:

i think the goalie issue needs to be resolved in january. a goalie who inspires confidence rather than panic is essential in our occasionally shaky/panicky backline. none of our goalies offers us this, and it is one reason i feel Sagna and Clichy’s performances have dropped. I wouldnt mind seeing Almunia sold, and an experienced, quality goalie joining

  940. ikon says:

I switched to pool’s match and we had gone down when i returned…. my first reaction was ok, it happens away from home etc etc.. But i think we lost the opportunity to build on our winning run, we struggled overall to create chances (except Arshavin who was again class yesterday). The absence of one man Rosicky can make such a change to the flow of play.

But dont think there is anything to worry yet. Seems to me last year’s form in champions league and league have swapped this year, playing wonderfully in pl and quite a few levels below in the cl.

I feel Wenger’s utmost desire to win the cl is adversely affecting the flow of play since he is desperate to win it(and all the fans too). But our strength is our free flowing attacking football, and the moment we mount pressure on ourselves on field, we start to struggle. Not everyone is a Chelsea who practice defending even in their dreams.

Hope Wenger allows the players to play freely, taking the same approach as the pl, and we will rock.

I re iterate, some of the comments are totally knee jerk, no need to panic as much.

  941. patthegooner says:

    BBK at 23:44

    You are right mate

If Chavski can’t beat Wigan or Villa

    If Manure can’t beat Burnley

If Man Shitty can’t beat Wigan

If Liverpool can’t beat Fiorentina, Sunderland or Lyon

    If Barca can’t beat Rubin

    If Inter can’t beat Kiev

There is nothing there for them!!!!!!!!!

It is Fulham for the PL and Unirea Urziceni for the CL……….

  943. gnarleygeorge9 says:

I’ve gotta admit, I switched the tele over to the Bindippers v Lyon game @ 2 minutes into injury time just to savour the vision of those stupid scousers in the crowd cringing, then switched back to our game just as AZ equalised. Geoff, talk about bloody karma. It works in mysterious ways ;)
