2 pints of lager please mate, that’ll be £8 sir! What, are you having a tinny?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

So there I was, watching fantastic football being played and a stonking revenge pasting handed out to Birmingham City, enough to make me want a celebratory pint, so I did, after watching thousands do the usual streaming out of the ground early I went to the bar, queued up and got told £8 for two pints.

I THOUGHT THEY WERE HAVING A TIN BATH, BUT THEY WEREN’T!

After asking myself why more fans don’t hang around like I do and drink copious amount of adult beverages, I got my answer! I had a couple of beers at the Champagne bar at St. Pancras the other day and it wasn’t that expensive, in fact I don’t think I’ve ever paid £8 for two pints, so there you have the answer Arsenal, that’s why people don’t hang around.

Former Arsenal pin up John Hartson said yesterday that Celtic winger Aiden McGeady could walk straight into the Arsenal team and replace Andre Arshavin, what??? John mate, are you having a laugh? Ronaldo couldn’t replace Andre Arshavin.

Theo it seems is out for 3 weeks thanks to another outrageous tackle from a Brummie, and that is bad news for our young superstar, he doesn’t get much luck does he?

I thought the whole team performed well and they should be bristling with confidence for the European game away this Tuesday, I won’t be going but I will be watching on TV and supping beer that costs somewhere closer to £2 a pint.

The boss revealed he turned down the Madrid job, because he promised his team he would see the project through, I hope they were reading, because I think we have as much of a chance as anyone this year, the Chavs and the scousers lost again and the northern chavs proved you need more than money to succeeed at the top, at least they are beginning to see why we slung Ade the whore out, how funny was he on Sunday!

I won’t mention what the brum scum were singing, suffice to say had it been our fans, it would have been headline news, sicko wankers.

How good is it that we only have to wait one more day to see us playing again eh, I can’t wait.

Have a great day Grovers, I’m getting that feeling again, and I haven’t had that since 2004!

treze, After that defeat, Liverpool have taken that beachball off their online club shop. Now, you click on that ball, it says ‘out of stock’. Sky Sports have been showing that all Sunday.

  2. freduardo

what kinda injury does nikki B have, oh yeah and Eduardo too? i’m gutted that Walcott is out for another month.

  3. gazzap

BBK i’d have to add to that list Vermaelen as top quality.
Then Nasri and Eduardo would also get on my list.

then of course there is a bunch of young players who should be good enough very soon. Ramsey, wilshere and Vela for example, probably Gibbs too.

then you have a few players who are generally considered to be pretty good – maybe not the best in the world but given Arsenal’s financial position we are not going to have the 15 best players in the world at our club. those players would include Sagna, Clichy, Walcott and Bendtner.

So we are not doing too badly for top quality players.

  4. A

freduardo bendy is a groin injury, eduardo a thigh injury. Be good to see Nasri in the ressies before the proper game tomorrow

  5. SharkeySure

BBK. Not wanting to start a war with you, but if you think that Wenger’s a c**t just for that, you really can’t be getting out too much, or following too much of the news in the world you live in.

  6. Gunners The Stunners

BBK, wow, Verminator (our top scorer so far this season) is not good enough. Probably, he should be dropped and Fish head should be played instead… lol

  7. SharkeySure

“dimwitted arseholes who couldn’t afford a house, getting a mortgage and defaulting”

They were knowingly sold those mortgages they couldnt afford by whom exactly ???

  8. Gunners The Stunners

Treze, yeah it is but that beachball might be the reason for Liverpool missing the last Champions League spot by a point or two. You never know… :D

  9. freduardo

cheers A i cannot wait to see Nasri back. so do you folks think we will see any new additions in Jan, or do we need any, esp with Ebway and Song at ACN?

  10. Gunners The Stunners

A fellow gooner broke this news today that we are the top scores in whole of Europe by a mile… Ahh, feels great to be a Gooner… :)

  11. A

i could see someone coming in freduardo, but not because of the african nations. if someone came in i doubt they’d walk into the starting line up, a matuidi or equivalent would be nice

  12. Gunners The Stunners

But Verminator’s accuracy from 30 yards is way better than Van Persie’s. It’s only good for the team to have a defender who can score like a striker. Not many defenders in Europe have this quality.

  13. Geoff

So sharkey, if someone put a gun in your hand and you shot someone, is that your fault or the company that sold it to you. Strange comment.

BBK I see the bullies are closing in, my they are all so brave aren’t they. Faceman, you need to stop slagging the manager off, though this time I sort of agree with you.

  14. Geoff

Amusing isn’t it, and he says it like those three are Kaka, Messi and Ronaldo.

That’s what makes me laugh. If he wants to brag, brag about Vermaelen.

  15. gambon

I dont think we’ll do much in January, no top players will want to move with the world cup coming up.

We do desperately need a GK, CB cover, and central midfielder(s)….but this will wait til the end of season.

If we sign 2 midfielders (one DM) we dont need a CB.

  16. gambon

If we had Barry & Alonso as our CM pairing behind cesc we would be SOOOOOO much better.

Throw in a better keeper & full backs and we would be best in Europe.

  17. B.B.K.

Geoff-“If in two years I don’t have any success, it will be my fault. It is a bet I made.”It’s the bet he made

  18. SharkeySure

Well Geoff, if you offered guns half price to people and really encouraged them to buy them with special holidays and attarctive payment plans including low cost intro’s then yeah you’d be partly responsible when more and more people got shot.

But I suppose social or moral responsibility are just left wing bollox to you.

Rich people make money out of poor people, the only difference is how ruthless you’re prepared to be about it.

  19. gambon

    Geoff,

i know but let a guy dream!!!

The thing is them 3 players are all good players to have in the squad, but thats what they should be – SQUAD PLAYERS.

  20. Geoff

Sharkey my original comment would be don’t allow poor stupid people to buy anything unless they prove they can afford it, you appear to be saying that then, well done mate, first sensible thing you’ve said on here!

  21. Keyser

Yeah, but thats England, it’s like people who say Alonso would be great next to Fabregas in a 4-4-2 because he does it for Spain.

  22. Rhyle

Geoff – re your gun analogy. The answer is both. The man who sold you the gun and you for pulling the trigger.

It’s an imperfect world and you’re right in wanting better for it but the fact that one of our finest institutions, one of the most well known proponents of Britain and represents us more than anything else in the world (bar, perhaps, the Queen) is the BBC. Letting the Tories ruin this so that Murdoch can charge us a few pennies to go on thesun.com or whatever other website is outrageous.

For me, the 120 odd quid I pay a year for the BBC is some of the best money I spend. I use their website every day, watch their tv shows most days and listen to their radio stations in my car every day. You may not agree with all their shows or all they have to say but I bet you get your £120 worth out of them.

My problem, at it’s root, is that I don’t feel that the Tories getting rid of the BBC is serving the public interest (as politicians are supposed to do) but serving the best interests of News Corp. That is not politics. That is bollocks.

  23. Geoff

Keyser it’s difficult for any good player to play where Song does mate, ha, ha!

You have to be painfully slow to do that, oh and positionally retarded!

  24. A

imo there are big issues to do with banking, i don’t believe it should even be privatised. Banks’ are there to look after the money of the people, they shouldn’t be designed to then use money that doesn’t belong to them to try and make more money for themselves.

  25. Keyser

“..first sensible thing you’ve said on here!”

What ? Ever or just today ? Thats a bit harsh if so, Geoff are you trying to bully people ?!

  26. gambon

I would like us to play a 2 DM system, albeit with 2 who are both comfortable getting forward and back, hence why Barry & Alonso wouldve been such an awesome combo.

I really dont think Song would get anywhere near the England squad.

  27. Keyser

gambon – With both sitting behind Fabregas ? It’s pretty much the same as having Nasri, Rosicky and Fabregas together, though a bit better attacking wise then defensively.

  28. A

gambon imo he’d be starting game in game out for england with hargreaves injured, so it’s just differing opinions i guess!

I’m happy we don’t play a two dm system, i much prefer the idea of one dm, then cesc and nasri

  29. rtist

Geoff..we’re all brave little lads here in this virtual world. That includes you. Couldn’t agree with you more regarding those that cannot rise to the challenge of good old fashioned Social Darwinism: perhaps we could dispose of the failures as in the film Soylent Green?..or better yet (and with a flourish) go all Hitler-style..euthanasia. Ok (Geoff style) I’m off to the gym…by the way, I also agree with BBK’s every word regarding Arsenal Football…and wish only for the return of the English Empire that we here in the colonies could live out our lives in servitude as we deserve..

  30. Geoff

Rhyle, I’m not disagreeing with you too much, I watch the BBC at 6am and it’s not news, it’s celb loving and self obsessed, as for culture, don’t they do East Enders?

I think that load of asbo promoting shit has caused more problems to society than any good they ever did.

  31. gambon

    Keyser,

Alonso & Barry are both much better defensively, and very good at clearing set pieces.

Barry is also exceptional at covering for forward runs from LB/CBs

Moot point now, as both are un buyable.

  32. Geoff

rtist, fucking hell is that all about? What colony did you come from then? What’s wrong with servitude, it’s what I do to pay all the benefit takers.

I like Jensen Button, but isn’t he a tax exile? I expect that jocko arsewipe will give him some kind of honour.

  33. Rhyle

A – use the post office if you want to keep your dough out of the hands of business. Oh fuck. You can’t. They’re being privatised too…

  34. A

gambon i see Barry as HUGELY overrated. He’s a good premiership player, but no more. If city sign yaya then i don’t think barry will be a regular for them, and even if they don’t they’ll still be wanting to improve the team, and he’s someone they’ll improve upon, along with the ridiculously overrated lescott.

  35. A

Huth charged with violent conduct, now he’s a real thug! Did anyone else see Michael Gray for Sheffield Weds trying to pick up an injured player on the floor making out he was feigning injury, when he had a broken leg?! he should get a ban for that too, what a prick

  36. Geoff

Rhyle I doubt that, those stupid cunts that work there are killing the business, like Red Robbo did at British Leyland and Scargill did the pits, the greedy blackmailing unions always kill their industries.

That why we have no docks, no steelworks, no shipbuilding etc.

  37. A

to be fair the post office is pretty ridiculous, paying the same price to send a letter ten miles as 500 makes no sense, it must cost more than the price of the stamp to deliver long distances

  38. Keyser

gambon – Don’t think either are good enough defensively or offensively, they’re both like all rounders, very consistant at what they do, but not good enough in any one area to be exceptional in it.

  39. B.B.K.

what we should start worrying about is the manager gambling on the chances of silverware and keeping players that are important to the club ie cesc, rather then enhancing his chances of leaving because he feels he won’t win nothing at arsenal. But no he’s more worried about the progression of denilsong and diaby at the expense of silverware

  40. Franchise

wow A says Alonso is absolutely class

hmmm i remember u saying there wasnt much difference btw alonso and denilson last season

  41. freduardo

if barry or alonso joined us a year or two ago, it would be up to song and denilson and diaby to force there way into the team by deputising well and showing well in training. this would have been a much preferable option imo than Denilson being thrown into the first team last season and having to play the whole season there. i think the lad did admirably, but was not really ready, resulting in him being shown up a few times. really he should not have been in that position, being used as more of a last resort than an option

  42. A

No Franchise, I always said Alonso was a better player, but the same style of player as Denilson, and that isn’t the type of player we needed.

I still wouldn’t want Alonso rather than Song at DM, because Song suits our needs better, even though Alonso is a better player.

Last season I said Alonso is a quality player but I wouldn’t want us to spend alot of money on someone who would just be a better version of what we had, when we needed something different.

  43. Mayank

I can’t believe the Song Denilson killing thing has been blown up so much… Wenger tried to sign Barry and Alonso for a price they weren’t being sold at, considering the amount of money that would be spent on the new recruits including wages etc. the better option was to promote a talented youngster. It was a bad decision nothing else. There was other motive behind it. It’s like how many would want Ramsey to replace prem proven Song. If it’s a success then good if not it’s a bad decision. Does it mean you have a preference for the Welsh over Africans, no.

  44. ReVELAtion

Is Theo injured again? Christ, that tackle was nothing.. Not that i’m that bothered mind :)

Gibbs done alright and calamity clichy could do with “being taken out of the firing line”.. As for the Eboue saga something has to give… Playing eboue at the expense of sagna on rare occassions and/or stiffling wilshire’s development in playing him on the right just to avoid a shit strop is going to bite Arsene on the arse sooner or later.. Drop sagna altogether or leave it alone!

Mannone is still shockingly shit.. Good game aside against fulham he has been woeful.. How birmingham got back in when we we’re 2-0 up was entirley down to him being inept. It’s not like he’s tired and played internationals in midweek. It was another basuc error that against better sides will cost us.. But, wishing for an alumunia return is not exactly what’s the word up.. The sooner we can get in someone like neuer, frey or akinfeev the better because our 1st choice 3 goalkeepers are shite. Our most naturally talented keeper is 4th choice and not even 20 (Szchesney)…

All is all it’s going well, but we are conceding way to many goals… The team who wins the title will do well to lose less than 6.. Liverpool are already battling it out for fourth IMO..

  45. patthegooner

    Good Post

It is something that has always fucked me off about sporting venues. Arsenal are not the only culprit in all of this.

They seem to think that because they have you locked in the ground, that they can then charge you an absolute ridiculous amount for food and drink.

I actually think it is insulting and disgusting. We are supposedly what the club are there for, yet they treat us like that and laugh in our faces with those kind of prices. It is a blatent rip off.

And cant the fucking idiots see that if you did lower the prices, that the ground would take a lot more revenue before the game and at half time.

Now we have the Yanks on board, you think they would bring across the ideas from American Sporting Venues. I have been to a number of Baseball games and on every occaision, the choice of food and drink has been exceptional and the prices are very reasonable.

  46. gambon

The team that wins the league will be the team that can go on a run of games without conceeding, like UTD did last year.

I dont think we are capable of that, i hope im wrong but i have a feeling this will be 02/03 or 07/08 all over again.

  47. gambon

    patthegooner,

You’d be surprised, the pricing is probably optimal in terms of making money.

    Obv doesnt help us fans.

  48. Mayank

Gombon this year the prem has more goals overall, i don’t think any team can bank on winnning 1-0… Whenever you score more than 2 goal you’re bound to concede as you start taking things easy and too many people go forward to try and get on the score-sheet… The trend seems to say the higest scoring team will win it, let’s see…

  49. Emperor gooner

that beachball is out of stock not because they’ve banned it but because liverpool fans are planning to throw hundreds of em onto the ground against lyon..they’re sold out

  50. ReVELAtion

Pat .. We have the most expensive season tickets in europe.. Do you honestly think we’d provide 1 of the cheapest food and beverage options?

Besides £4 a pint is roughly the same as it would be in the west end.. Bang out of order yes, but it doesn’t suprise me…

With all the diamond box winners from timbuktoo, crappy press releases on transfer speculation involving our own players etc. What else did you expect?

  51. Jaguar

Lets not bring in any more new players to our squad in the Winter window, because it would kill Diabolical and Shitvestre.

  52. Pedro

‘The trend seems to say the highest scoring team will win it, let’s see…’

That’s a pretty special statement Mayank.

Teams that defend the best, win the Premiership. You can’t start justifying bad defending because it suits the Arsenal style of play at the moment.

  53. Franchise

if anything particular impresses most about song it is his composure and increasing confidence on the ball

he is still quite a bit away from being the destructive player lets say makalele was

alonso or barry could have easily brought more to the table in terms of overall play especially cos of the wealth of experience they both have

not taking anything away from Song he has improved a lot since last year

  54. Pedro

A, Alonso is a little more than just a better version of Denilson…

That’s like saying David Villa is just a better version of Jay Simpson…

  55. Pedro

Franchise, I’m not sure about Barry. He failed to keep Villa in the top 4 last year and didn’t do much to stop their capitulation.

I saw him get beat in the air by Richard done pretty comprehensively against Villa a few weeks ago… you’d be pretty pissed at seeing that when you’re paying £80k a week…

  56. Pedro

Revelation, £4 a pint in the West End is still expensive for the West End. Well, unless you’re in a posh club… but you’re getting so much more for your £4…

  57. Jaguar

If that Greedy lump, who after a 30 goal tap in season was payed 80k per week,I wouldnt mind paying the same amount to Barry.

  58. Franchise

    Pedro everyone gets outjumped

if u blame villa collapse on Barry who do u blame our 08/09 season meltdown on?

out of the FA cup, CL and 3rd position fight in 4 weeks :D

Barry is a tireless worker, good passer, experienced head, great technique etc, very disciplined etc etc

the chances he would have improved us a great deal are very high IMO

its not gonna happen anyways so……..

  59. Stu

Anyone want to buy a german shepard mix? ONly 100euro each.

Moving on…all my sports channels have been cut off and now i have no way of watching any arsenal matches. Im gonna have to go back to the days when i just watched the shit sky panel talk about the match and shot highlights. I feel so depressed…especially after all our fixtures were changed so they could be shown on tv.

  60. ReVELAtion

true, pedro but the least i find is £3.50 at most places and i certainly wouldn’t class these dives as posh establishments… I mean weatherpoons and yates are not places i frequent and if that makes me posh, well..

You take the man out of the council estate but you can’t take the council estate out the man :P

  61. Jaguar

Wenger: We were cruising in the first half

    Dear Supporter,

We were cruising in the first half on Saturday. We were in control, two goals up and it looked like we could get more. You were wondering who would score the third goal.

But we made a mistake defensively and Birmingham got back to 2-1. In the second half we did not have the same fluency or control in the game, not the same pace, but in the end I still believe 3-1 is a fair result because we had plenty of chances.

Birmingham regrouped very quickly when they lost the ball and we lacked a little bit of sharpness. I feel also we tried to force the situation a little bit individually, especially in the second half, and that’s why we didn’t score more goals.

Alex Song was strong and smooth in his defensive midfield role. He is not rigid, he is agile. He is a slalom player and is not a straight-line player. He uses that very well, he has a good combination of strengths and agility and I believe as well he uses his technique in a very intelligent way. He likes a tackle. Cameroon people are strong – in Africa they call them the Germans of Africa because of their strong bodies.

The tackle by Liam Ridgewell on Theo Walcott was a talking point and I wasn’t happy with it. It was a tackle made without any restriction. I felt it was a tackle meant to impress; that was my first impression from the bench. It looked a quick and hard challenge from outside. I don’t know: did he want to play the ball? He certainly went through Theo.

Theo had a bruised knee after the game, it was swollen and difficult to assess at the moment. Is it a medial knee ligament that is twisted or just a kick? The fact that he says he felt a little unstable when he was running is not good news. We don’t know yet how much of his pain is down to the kick and how much is down to the fact he twisted his ligament.

He will be scanned and if it is just a kick he has a good chance to play on Tuesday night at Alkmaar. If it is more, he will not play on Tuesday. I believe personally he will not be available on Tuesday at least. It is not a cruciate for example but it could be more than a week if it is a twisted ligament. The latest injury news will be available on Monday afternoon on Arsenal.com.

Ultimately, Saturday’s game ended the right way with a good goal from Andrey Arshavin. That’s the football we love. I believe the second goal was fantastic as well and that’s the game we play.

I believe when we stick to our game, when we focus to play our game, it looks like we can play the ball through any space and that we can create space just as we want. That is something fantastic but we have of course to be focused on that and keep our composure.

    Thanks for your continued support.

  62. A

gambon imo the team that wins the league this year will be the team who beats the most little teams that put 11 men behind the ball, that’s why utd won the league last season. whether it’s done by keeping clean sheets and snatching a winner, or scoring 3 goals despite conceding one isn’t the decisive factor.

Nah Pedro, that’s an exageration. I’d say it’s like saying Drogba is a better version of Adebayor, when what the team is lacking is a Bergkamp style playmaker.

  63. Jaguar

Mr.Wenger believes that the second goal was fantastic because it showed that any headless chicken can be the benefactor of the efforts put in by the great players in our team.

  64. Jaguar

With all respect to Denilson, its totally unfair to compare him to Alonso.Alonso has much more class and is more influential than Denilson any day.

  65. Mayank

Pedro, it just seems like that this season… PL has always had the champion as the best defence while La liga is won by the best attack. Not to suggest defending is less important in any way. But this season PL has more goals than the Premiera so maybe attack will be the order of the day, or perhaps the first 8-9 games have just been a blip who knows?…

  66. A

Dunno whether it’s as simple as that mayank, last year utd won it, and they had the best defence, 2nd best attack
    07/08 best attack, best defence
06/07 best attack, 2nd best defence
    05/06 best attack, best defence
04/05 2nd best attack, best defence
    03/04 best attack, best defence
02/03 2nd best attack, best defence
    01/02 2nd best attack, 2nd best defence

  67. Pedro

A, I’ve never witnessed a man of the match performance from Denilson, or seen him control the tempo of a game, or be particularly creative.

From a strikers perspective, we’ve seen Adebayor play fantastically well. So that comparsion is way off as well.

If Wenger is considering playing Nasri in the holding role, Alonso can’t be far off what we needed. Look how much Liverpool have missed him so far!

He is a top player, and he would have helped us no end last year.

  68. Pedro

Mayank, I think it’ll come down to who defends the best… and like A said, who drops the least points against the poor teams.

How we deal with the winter will be key… when the weather turns we’ve had a tendency to be less up for it.

Luckily our best player will see our winter like a summer holiday.

  69. A

I have Pedro, although not that many top top performances from him.

I don’t believe for a second Wenger is considering playing Nasri in the holding role, all those comments both from Wenger, and Nasri, we talking about playing alongside another DM, both referred to him having played that role already last season against Utd. Nasri is never going to be a DM as Song is, but a deep lying playmaker who plays alongside a “proper” DM.

  70. Pedro

See, I don’t see Song as a deep lying holding midfielder… that’s why we sometimes get caught out by his pace issues.

  71. Mayank

Was out for a bit… Some interesting points by Pedro, A and Franchise. I think it all comes down to one thing that’s character… If we just go into each match knowing we have to win it then we’ll do pretty well considering the talents we have… 3 points is 3 points whether you win it 3-1 or 1-0. I don’t think we can lose any match if RvP Arsh and Fab are on the pitch at the same time… Rosicky, Nasri etc. too but to a lesser extent…
A word for Theo, he has many detractors but the 60 odd minutes he’s played for us this season have been sublime… Can’t wait to see him fully fit…

  72. patthegooner

I think our challenge rests on how we cope with the absense of Song for 4-6 Weeks.

Do we buy or loan more strength in that area?

    Do we play Diaby there?

    Do we play Denilson there?

Getting that decision right or wrong could make or break our season.

  73. patthegooner

I also don’t buy this line from Wenger that buying someone would kill Denilson and Diaby

They are either good enough or they are not. Denilson is nearly 22 and Diaby is nearly 24, it is not like they are both 18.

I am sure it is from team morale, but we all know he was in for Melo, likewise Alonso and Inler the season before. It is singularly the most frustrating thing that comes out of Wenger’s mouth.

  74. Stu

Denilson is the best option after Song leaves for the acn. Denilson should be back from injury but im not convinced by him as the sole DM. He lacks the physicality imo and that could cost us…hope im wrong tho.

  75. patthegooner

I just hope that despite what Wenger says, that if we are in with a genuine real shout of PL glory in Jan, that he does spend some money on a great DM player.

  76. Stu

Yes i also think we should spend money in january regardless of our position. If we have a chance at glory and an injury costs us then we will have screwed ourselves. Its better to have too many options than not enough.

  77. Franchise

ive seen better arsenal sides fail to deliver trophies in the past

its good we started well it means we are in contention

the team that copes well from february to may would win the league

that is normally the point we falter… february onwards then we pick up form when we are out of it all and thrash the last team we play

there wld be no runaway leaders this year i believe that means that we could do quite well and still finish 4th. i hope not

  78. SharkeySure

“don’t allow poor stupid people to buy anything unless they prove they can afford it”

Geoff, well thats my whole point isn’t it. You offer unaffordable stuff to people who can’t afford it by making it look like they can. Thats whats discounted rates and payment holidays do.

Thats why lending multiples that used to be 3.5 times salary went to 6 or 7 times salary.

One way to stop them buying at those levels is by not offering those types of ‘special deal’ Its not rocket science and its not a chicken and the egg situation either…its just greed feeding off some poor bastards aspirations for ‘a better life’

I do Pedro, if you look at his positioning then you’ll see he sits much deeper, but with just one midfielder, and four attacking ones who get caught ahead of play, any team is going to get caught on the break, regardless of who the DM is. Barca got caught alot despite having yaya who is imo the best in the world in that role by a fair bit.

Yeah Stu, I’m not 100% convinced either, but I reckon Denilson will play there, and either Diaby or Nasri will play a little bit deeper to help him out, maybe Diaby is more physicality is needed.

David I’d be shocked if that happened. Wenger seems to have totally written off Senderos, which is a pity in my eyes.

  80. SharkeySure

I’m a Big Phil fan…but at DM…?? No way, not for me.

If he doesn’t play him vs the Beach Boys next week then we’ll know its all over. Crazy when that leaves FishHead next in line

  81. Franchise

last year we al thought our first 8 + games were three pointers but we were in for a shock.

this year we were given a toughish start, then a no of 3 pointers and so far we have not disappointed in delivering those points

    we’ve got

    alkmaar – A
    west ham – A
    lpool – H
    spuds – H
    alkmaar – H
    wolves – A
    sunderland – A
    liege – H
    chavs – H

    to come

3 points from the league fixtures in there wont be bad that is west ham, spuds, wolves, sunderland, chavs

  82. Franchise

SS yeah the op went well and im recuperating well too i can flex to 90 degrees now. happy days

im predicting sunderland and spurs would be tough games but it dont mean we shouldnt be able to defeat them

chelsea at home is a hard one to call

westham are in need of a win badly what are the chances of an upset eh? how many teams in doldrums bounce back when they play us historically 8) ?

I still see no way we would leave east london without at least a point

    Thats only the half truth.

Banks borrow broke people money for a house on the good faith that the money they borrowed is indeed and of a fact insured should incase a large number of people decide to defualt on their loan.

Its not the first time in history that Banks would loan out money for people who couldnt afford their house. Its been going on since forever.

What did happen was that when the Banks were willingly lending out “risky loans” to any Tom, Jane and Harriet.

The home Owner and the Insurance Creditors both defaulted.

    Essentially nobody had money.

    The banks were Royally fucked.

Also a quick word on “lazy” people.

In the US if I buy a house, like so many that dont understand the tautology of the housing language I can get a loan stipulates my Mortgage can double and in some cases triple overtime.

In fact. This was one of the many points Obama ran his campaign on.

Many housing Interest rates are not fixed. They always go up and never down.

If you dont make the kind of money that’s needed to counter the rise the banks put on you all of a sudden after owning your house for 15 years…should you be considered Lazy?

Big Business Doenst give a two footed Fuck.

Left people are far from lazy.

Btw that’s stadium pricing for you on the beers, I paid 7 bones for a crappy coors at a college game on Saturday!! College football…can you believe that? And its not like it was a bit ten team either. Oh and wasn’t a pint, just a plastic cup. So its rip off city all around the world Geoff…

  85. SharkeySure

    David,

Same thing happens here…but a guy gets sold a mortgage thats say £600 per month with the ‘discount’ against SVR. Once the SVR expires …booooom he’s now asked for £1,000 a month.

Morggae Broker opn both sodes of the pond were getting paid commision on sign ups, and mortgage lenders were packaging the shit debt up and selling it on.

Build a castle as big and as high as you like, but don’t forget to look out the window occasionally !!

  86. David

Mayank Big Phil played the DM role for us at the Emirates Cup and some games during the pre-season. He impressed me.

Obviously not the brightest player going forward but is more defensively disciplined than Song and Denilson combined.

Imo…Denilson should never play for Arsenal again.

He adds absolutely nothing to the team.

Im not comfortable with the fact that we can just think we would really on Diaby who is both very injury prone and can sometimes forget what position he plays.

Senderos can be big for us in the DM role. A certain Flamini wasnt all that bad.

Mr.Wenger believes that the second goal was fantastic because it showed that any headless chicken can be the benefactor of the efforts put in by the great players in our team.

If your talking about Diaby that’s an unfair comment, he finished his chance well, others may of missed, how can you critisize a player for scoring? He did what he was suppossed to do.

  88. Ruler

True Senderos looked good in the DM role when I saw him, his passing was swift and simple and he obviously is someone who will win areial balls and can make tackles, he’s got potential there.

  89. David

    SS

It is disgraceful isnt it? The mere fact that the system is set up to rape people out of their pockets with “attrative” offers is shocking in itself. As i said Big business dont give a fack.

And lets not even get started on the equity you are or are not entitled to in your house.

There are many people who have cut back to try and stay in their homes and play by the rules but what happns when the rules keep changing?

Their a bunch of lazy c*nts I presume.

  90. SharkeySure

Ruler, do you ever feel that some points are so out there that you just roll your eyes and move on to the next post…?? I do.

Thats the lowest point of blogging isn’t it, dismissing a players achievements cos it conflicts with the view they hold.

  91. Stu

Senderos is too slow to play in midfield. He is just about fast enough when in full stride but he has next to no acceleration so imo would be screwed against a good attacking team.

He is decent on the ball tho..considering he is supposed to be a lumbering defender.
