It’s funny how as each season passes, the more patterns you can pick out… My scouser chum who reads the blog keeps telling me to post an article from last year, because he reckons our seasons go the same way year on year…
So here’s how it goes… minus a few other traits I’m sure you’ll share with me in the comments:

I do hope that doesn’t happen this year… but you know the drill.
I read on another site that the reason Arsenal suffer more injuries is because of the athleticism of our players etc… take it from me – I’m in contact with a pro who works with a major sports club all, that is utter rubbish… the reason Arsenal suffer more injuries than any other club is because in the main, they don’t manage fitness as well as other teams. Leg breaks and impact injuries aside… it’s an internal issue. Saying Arsenal players technical ability adds to the strain on their bodies is an example of people making statements with no scientific evidence to support it… you wouldn’t take me seriously if I told you blonde people ran faster would you? Would the argument hold weight if Arsenal had and abundance of blonde players? No…
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a good season from Rosicky… however, as much as I dislike pissing on peoples chips… Rosicky has turned into something of a demi-god during his absence. He is a top player, but I seem to remember him flattering to deceive. He has never really hit the heights for us and he didn’t ever demonstrate he was the Bobby type replacement we’d hoped for… Arsenal fans don’t see a player for 3 months and all of a sudden they turn into Pele… as perfectly demonstrated by the love for Big Phil since he took a year out…

True, with the right break throughs in science… we could enter his brain and reengineer his football ability and turn him into a decent defender… sorry to break it to you people, that’s not happening any time soon. Rosicky is a good player, just like Eduardo is… but their impact to the first team shouldn’t be inflated like I think it is. We’ll need a big jump in performances from both of them if we are to compete this year.
On the Adebayor stories… I do wish people would stop talking about him. I was recently out at a fancy do in a top London bar… loads of dancers and actress types were there and this one girl, who was a bit mentally unstable was doing her best to upset everyone… no one could understand her behaviour… or why she wasn’t embarrassed about humiliating herself in front of everyone… apart from me.
Like Adebayor… any attention is good attention… the more text and angst we dedicate to him, the bigger his ego hard-on gets. Lets ignore the over-paid Togan twat and wait for the guaranteed demise of his performances…
Another point I’d like to broach is the message bleated by many people on the blog as some sort of counter argument to criticising the team…

If any fans like a moan up, it’s the Mancs and the Chav fans… and lets not stop at them… how about the Liverpool fans who booed Rafa last year, or the Newcastle fans who moaned a manager out of the club, or the Tottenham fans who hussled their most successful manager of the last 10 years out the club because 5th wasn’t good enough?
For the people peddling the above argument, get some perspective and stop making things up to suit your agenda.
Wigan are up tomorrow, I expect us to deliver a stellar performance and I fully expect a storming game from Diaby. I gave him a bit of a ribbing yesterday, but that’s because I know how talented he is… he just needs to apply himself a little more… if he does, we could have a hell of a player on our hands. Arshavin is still out and the only changes I expect are Sagna for Eboue.

The fitter you are, the less prone to injury you are.
Saying we get more injuries becasue we are fitter doesn’t make sense. You’d be more likely to pick up injuries if you were unfit in the last 20 minutes becasue your body over compensates for other muscles that get weaker with fatigue.
Your core strength improves as you get fitter… Arsenal players will be working on core strength over bulking and brute strength…
I’d also like to know where this fact that Arsenal are the fittest team comes from… is that just another gem from the Arsenal supporters myth centre or is there evidence to back this?

yeah gazzap, but he’s still been effective even if he hasn’t played well overall. Created Bendtner’s goal on weds, created Rosicky’s on Sat. Although I’d prefer Ramsey to play, Diaby is by far the senior player, and hasn’t done enough to get himself excluded, because of his creating goals whilst playing pants. As well as Ramsey starting for sure on Weds I’d be surprised to see him start ahead of Diaby, but you never know.

Diaby playing shit for 89 minutes and getting an assist doesnt sit well with me. Midfielders are there to control the pace of our game and do well for the whole 90, not just 1 good thing all game.
Its fine for strikers to do that because their performance (goals aside) doesnt usually affect the outcome of the game because they arent in a position that could lose us the game.
Eduardo and Bendtner did fuck all except score but thats all we expect of forwards anyway..goals. Diaby did fuck all except get an assist but from a midfielder that isnt acceptable imo.
Despite all the throphylessness and criticism I still deem Arsene Wenger as a great manager but a stuborn one.
Arsene’s arsenal lacks one thing and its not experience its simply English players, i think he persists too much with foreign players and totally neglects the home ones don’t get me wrong foreign players are good and plays unbelievably entertaining footie sometimes, but do they have the direto play this season long? English players have the bite the ruggedity they know this is thier land, this is thier home this is where thier heart is, thier wives and kids are glued to thier TV sets watching them they know they must give it all. Unlike foreign players they still have that eye back at home , they think of going back to thier family to enjoy the warmth of summer in the sunny spain {Fabregas} and has other plans on thier match while playing which sometimes makes you wonder why they bothered to show up atall they dont have the desire, the bite, the commitment to win things.
This is what happens with the bottom clubs too much foreign based players and managers win less managerial skill to win games and they end up getting relegated.
Though to much english players is craziness and it will result to failure but it must be a mixture much like 50% 50% and not 87% 3% as our current squad i think if Arsene could adhere to this, he will really see the ‘mental strength’ our team lacks will be sorted and we might go back to the Adams, Keown days and see the glorious Royal Arsenal once again.
Wenger likes to play players until they hit form and then drop then (ie song in the fa cup semi) and also likes to play shit players in the hope that they will eventually come good. (ie Diaby, denilson, song, Eboue(in midfield), Bendtner out wide, Ade (who got good and had to leave).
I think our biggest problem is that our strikers aren’t playing well enough.
RVP isn’t the greatest up on his own, i would prefer bendtner there. Bendy and RVP are too often moving into mid-field rather than getting behind defenders and getting into the box. How to solve this? i dunno…

If we are to persist with a 4-3-3 I have to agree with Wiseman. I took flak pretty early in the season for noticing our strikers were not shooting and not scoring – something which hasn’t changed as of yet.
Moving Bendtner into the centre and RvP out wide gives both a more suitable role. RvP gets the freedom he needs to get the best out of him and Bendtner gets the more disciplined role in the middle. As long as they both start shooting…happy days.
Which match Gunnersmith?
I dont think the strikers are out of form so much as out of position.
RVP as a lone striker does not work. Bendtner as a winger does not work. Eduardo on the left does not really work. Give them a chance. In a 4-3-3 Nik needs to be central and RVP on the right.
I think when RVP or Eddie are not fit to play then it should be Nik B plus one of either RVP or Eddie in a 4-4-2 formation.
then Rosicky, Eboue, Wilshere, Arshavin, Walcott or whoever, can play on the wing. But looks like wenger has settled on this 4-3-3 now.
I dont mind it as long as he puts the players in the right positions.

Ramsey is far more dynamic and intelligent from what I have seen.
Diaby whilst being skilfull, cosistantly runs down blind alleys and in circles because he cant see or work out a pass, then loses the ball. He is also out of position a lot. Then wham a wonderful ball or a thunderbolt (this happens 1 in 5 games maybe)

At the start of the season people were saying we had a problem because none of our strikers had scored. In the last 3 games, all 4 of them have scored….
VP scored the sort of goal he will playing centrally, turning off the man and banging it, Bendtner illustrated the goal threat he offers, running in behind, Arshavin with the bit of magic, and Eduardo with a poacher’s goal.

VP scored a great goal..that cant be denied but that was his first after how many shots?
Bendtner showed he is a capable striker when played in the middle. Granted his goal was on the right side of the box but he made his run from centrally. You can score that type of goal when out on the right wing because he doesnt have the kind of pace to get in behind a left back. Theo does but quite often he either doesnt get the bal or his run is wasted by a bad decision on his behalf.
So in short VP on the right so he can cut in and do whatever he likes and Bendtner in the middle because 3 goals in 3 starts in the middle suggest he is the best man for the job there.
Senderos will hopefully play in the CC. ANything but Silvestre….please god…anything but silvestre.

But Pedro i have to disagree on one point in youre otherwise well done post…as you may know Norway is the best skiing Nation in the world..and we have a far advanced medical team sorrounding all our athletes,and a major point the last seasons have been injuries…and the conclusion was clear,it is very important to note that the more fit the athletes where,the easier it was for minor injuries to occur….football is a team effort…and it may well be important to have the players trained more individual…when it comes to the physics…
as a conclusion i feel every team sport ,has a lot to learn in this field…
