After an unfortunate start against Italy when we were down to 10 ladies, the girls have fought back valiantly and by beating Holland in the semis, they play Germany in the final, imagine, the old enemy in the final.
Ladies captain Faye White had her jaw broken and dislocated in a clash against the said Dutch, ouch, I saw the game and it was a real wack, so what does she do? She has a mask made and says she is going to lead England out, what a star, did she make the headlines in the national press today, you know like David Beckham did in Japan when he unveiled his new haircut? No, okay then did she at least make Arsenal.com? Er, no, Robin got that for talking about his favourite children’s book.
Can you imagine if it had been one of our first team (Eduardo excluded) they would have had a year off, never mind play in the next game, so Faye, I salute you, I’ll be watching on Thursday at 4.30 on BBC2 and I’ll be cheering you on.
Personally I think you’re better than Fish head and would have you in the men’s team, but that’s not my call. Good luck to the girls.

Fran – it looked like a 4-4-2 with anelka playing left wing up until Gignac went off for mandanda.. Either way as Terrence told Domenech his methods are crap and the team pretty much doesn’t like him and the training methods. Who here thinks Fabregas should learn to take free kicks? He hasn’t shown anything to suggest he has the confidence or the subtle skill to go for goal from a free kick. The twat scored a simple set piece goal against a shite team with CB that were half his height. But no that was very impressive. What was also impressive was his miss in the 68th minute and his free header miss which was even more simple than the goal he scored off of a header from a corner in the 88th. But no he scored a goal against Albania thas all that matters hence he is World Class.

Yeah Reva, he’ll have a look at them in training and make a decision based on that. But I think this game has an edge to it and Wenger will realize that. If we lose it’ll show weakness and allow Man City to build on their already considerable belief. That’s why I think he’ll try and play his strongest forward line available.
David you are taking Liege as a gimme to suggest that.. They may be on the bench for both games, but anything more and I will suprised because it means two of eboue, denilson & Diaby will be on the bench.. Inconcievable

I think he buckled with Eduardo in that instance Reva. Remember, he said that he considered not taking Eddie to Manchester at all after the Champs League incident. I think he didn’t want to use him unless he completely had to(which he eventually did).
I think he picked Eboue over Bendtner in that game because Eboue had a good match against Celtic, scoring a goal in the process.
But this game has almost become more important than the Man U game since we lost. I just can’t see Arshavin being left out whatsoever.

I don’t know what his infatuation with eboue is tbh.. He’s a very good, solid right back and can do a job if we are decimated with injuries on the right hand side of a midfield, but anything else is a nonsense IMO…
If he’s trying to give eboue games because he wouldn’t sell him at a fee under the asking price of 10m he’s just going to end up looking a moron.
Reva, I think Arsene was extremely unsure of what would get thrown at him in Manchester. It seems to me that he starts Eboue whenever he feels he might be out-thought by the opposing manager and throws Eboue into the mix as an additional defensive option.

The thing with Eboue is that he lacks concentration. If you think about it Arsenal have so much of the possession so our defense isnt under so much pressure…even in defense Eboue gets exposed if we are under significant pressure like in the FA cup semi final..which is why he belongs in defense.
Having said that…if he IS to play in any other role in defense it would have to be a sub appearance that way he wouldnt have to think too hard the whole 90 min.

I think, and this is just my opinion, that Wenger feels that Eboue brings a certain balance to the team. Perhaps he also likes the fact that he will be inclined to defend as well as helping out the forwards.
I’m not Eboue’s biggest fan tbh but I think some of the abuse he gets is quite ridiculous. He’s sent out to do a job, he tries and if he’s not always up to the task then fine because I know that when Nasri, Rosicky and Walcott get back in he won’t be getting as many minutes in such advanced positions.

Wenger’s tactical nouce leaves alot to be desired when it comes to getting results away from home against top teams.. I thought we’d turned the corner after coming back from 1-0 down top chelsea at the bridge, but all it did was sum up that it was a one off result..
Playing Eboue as a right forward serves no purpose other than giving eboue playing time incase he spits his dummy out the pram because he could’ve and probably should’ve moved on..
We’d be ***** if Sagna got injured but your youth players are supposed to cover for 1st team injuries and giving Hoyte or Gilbert a go wouldn’t hurt in a few games.. Rather than having a 60k a week diving enigma who might get the humph if he doesn’t play..
And that’s Arshavin’s style. He’s more of an incisive, stop-start player who will only do things if he really needs to. And tbh, I’d rather that than a Tevez kind of player, just rushing about all over the place. I think that just makes you look almost charicaturish if i’m honest.

David to be honest Van Persie has done the bets he can up top on his own as bendtner has done on the right.. They can’t perform better out of position and luckily thus far results have gone our way, but you can clearly see that it’s not working…. The team might work harder as a unit from the front some might say, but the front 3 are supposed to score goals and make the majority of assists..
Someone suggested playing van persie out wide instead and moving bendtner inside means Van Persie becomes ineffective, but he plays there perfectly well for the dutch so i’m at a loss to see why Wenger persists with such nonensensical team selection..
Van Persie operates in the hole or out wide whilst bendtner is a target man.. Eduardo has done o.k on the left, but we do not have the strikers to play this 4-3-3 bullox and it’s just been put upon us to accomodate walcott who is neither a striker or midfielder and get van persie and arshavin in the same line up as they both cannot play through the middle..
Although im chuffed to bits with the way we started I have this nagging feeling that it’ll end in tears all over again so i refuse to get carried away just yet.
