Theo and Rosicky on their way back? What about Nasri? And great news about Djourou!

According to Wenger Theo and Rosicky are on their way back, but by my reckoning, Nasri’s 6 weeks is up about now. That will make for an interesting line up against Man City this weekend.

In theory we should be back to our best starting 11 against Man City, but what is our best starting 11? His intent seems to be a midfield of Cesc, Denilson, Diaby and Song, with a smattering of Eboue in there somewhere, my midfield would be a bit of both.

I would go for Nasri, Cesc and one of Denilson or Song, with Arshavin, Robin and Rosicky up top, then I would then alternate Bendtner, Walcott and Eduardo and I would do that every game, mix it up.

That way we would have our plan B with 3 new faces every time, that would be difficult to play against because then you almost have two different teams, I sure wouldn’t wait till the 70th minute, unless of course we were comfortably winning.

Some will say we were unlucky against the Mancs, so if that is true, then we ought to beat City, we do seem more solid and gritty in the middle this year, but I think that’s more down to playing 4-3-3 and chasing the ball down than with any kind of transformation in the players ability department.

I am looking forward to seeing what formation we have against the new biggest spenders, but if we go at them from the off, we could take them apart, they seem to have had a few games where they’ve been hanging on this season and if we can get ahead early doors, we could do an Everton, everyone has to concentrate though and everyone needs to turn up.

In Arshavin, Nasri, Diaby and Rosicky we do have players that can hit the ball from distance so they will be a tad defensive, I can see them putting Beyonce up front on her own and we all know how much that bitch hates that, don’t we!

Let’s hope Kolo comes out swinging, it would be nice to see him getting us a penalty for once. Shay Given is a good goalie but the rest of them aren’t as good as we are, I fully expect us to win this one, we seem to have the players coming back and that at least gives us options.

Great news is that although Djourou is out until next April, Wenger thinks he’ll be back early, like March, I sure hope so, he’ll make such a difference.

Yes, I was being sarcastic!

Have a great day Grovers, who would you pick!

    Pedro ofcourse i read it.

our arsenal website is so outdated, not much update on Nasris fitness

  32. Sabeel Indian Gunner says:

    we have the Internationals tomorrow

    Pedro, its obvious isnt it,
The chances of us ripping apart shitty depends also on the hope that we DONT pick up injuries in tomorrows internationals

  33. arsenalised says:

Keith:i think we should trounce them even if they get messi on loan 4 the weekend.

  34. Duke says:

    I did :D

  35. chozzer says:

  36. Duke says:

I love it how you didn’t mention internationals for a second there…I know you did it on purpose :D Quality, keep up the good work.

Gunnersmith, no way would we have Beckham, no way, I agree with you.

  40. iceman says:

    Is Cesc back for Citeh?

  41. iceman says:

    Lol.
No, meant you sure he’ll be back this weekend?

  42. Keith says:

Arsenal Tom – dont let “David” start yesterdays arguement up again about Bendtner please! He and Pedro were at it hammer and tongs!

  43. Keith says:

iceman-Fabregas came on as a sub for Spain at the weekend so unless he picked up another injury lets hope he will be fit for the Citeh game.

  44. insidealbania says:

    Morning all,
I think the midfield 3 that would work very well is Nasri Cesc Song. I think if NAsri had not been injured we would not see too much of denislon. Rosicky I can see playing as part of the front 3. Cant wait to see him play.

  45. ArsenalKenya says:

    WE ARE THE ARSENAL!!!

WE WILL HAMMER YOU MAN CITY ON SATURDAY – 3-0 TO THE ARSENAL

Oh what a wonderful bright day here in Nairobi.

Good day to you all groovers – KEEP IT ARSENAL, EAT, DRINK, SLEEP ARSENAL!!

  46. charybdis1966 says:

Iceman, I think Cesc played 20 minutes for Spain at the weekend so you would think he would be available for the gig at Middle Eastlands. Having said that we all know how over cautious Wenger is about injuries (except for that idiotic moment he sent Gallas back on after tweaking his hammy) so he may bench him.
I’m less optimistic (BBK/Jimbo would be proud) about seeing Theo soon and Rosicky I doubt we’ll see this month as he’ll no doubt have a setback in training.

  47. arsenalised says:

If almunia fucks up again and lets that wanker Ade to score then he should get his benched

  48. Rob green says:

Yes i read it geoff :D

I dont think we will start with theo, nasri or rosisky!!

  49. Arsenal Tom says:

    keith… must have missed that!

i stand by my choice though! if not bendy then eddie

  50. insidealbania says:

I like the ‘Pay Homage’ thing you have in the side. Must have been a Pedro idea.

  51. Sabeel Indian Gunner says:

I guess walcott will be able to come on as a sub

  52. Gunnersmith says:

    benched for who arsenalised

  53. iceman says:

    Yeah Chary/Keith
I’m hoping he’s fit to start.
Or else a bench role shouldn’t be out of the question.
Just hope RvP’s found his shooting boots.

  54. Arsenal Tom says:

arsenalised… and play who mannone? chesney?

  55. arsenalised says:

Mannone gunnersmith, its time wenger showed confidence in the team he picks.

  56. Pedro says:

    Morning Grovers!

Geoff, top post this morning! I think our line up against Man City is a mouth watering prospect… I’d rather go with Song than Denilson… we only need one of them in there in my opinion. It’ll be great to get Theo back in the team… he needs to start making the headlines about him, rather than our other prodigious talent coming through!

This whole single central striker thing is a bit confusing though… I think it should be Nik B in the middle… he scored a cracker in the week and I think Robin and Eduardo could play on the outside…

However, I have no doubt that Wenger will factor Eboue and Denilson into the team somewhere.

I think Franchise said Ade, Tevez and Robinho were doubts for the weekend?

    That’ll be nice!

  57. Gunnersmith says:

    my best pick

  58. Arsenal Tom says:

    eboue in goal?

  59. iceman says:

Rob if the 3 you mentioned started on the bench that would do me fine :)

  60. Sabeel Indian Gunner says:

    iceman

its been ages since i have seen RVP score directly from his freekick

  61. Rob green says:

Now these players are back do you think wenger will rest arshavin as he said he has been playing with an injury?

  62. Arsenal Tom says:

eboues gotta be on the bench, he played well against celtic so i can see why wenger played him to an extent, but we lost at manure and have far better options than him.

song, denilson, fab as a middle 3 id happy(ish) with

  63. slimshady says:

    Morning everybody!!

With you all the way Geoff – glad to see you’re back.

  64. ethangunner says:

    chary i agree

i think the line up will be similar to the manc’s line up if not a mirror match ..

wenger current spiel is always about injuries and people coming back , like he is trying to spur us on with encouragement .

    YAWN !

  65. Gunnersmith says:

RB not if he plays tmr against Wales i dont see the point of wenger resting his best player for such crucial match but you can never tell
    Arsene Knows Fuck

  66. chozzer says:

    Middle Eastlands,lol.

  67. Gunnersmith says:

Nasri is no where near comeback slimshady

  68. slimshady says:

Yeah, Theo really does need to get back Pedro.

  69. slimshady says:

Oh, lol gunnersmith. Didn’t I read Nasri in the post though?? :-s

  70. Ali Saljuk says:

I will be intrigued to see our starting line up for City with Rosicky , Theo , Cesc back.

  71. saminator says:

can anybody educate me? eduardo dives and is banned…taylor breaks eduardo’s foot and is given a yellow card.

  72. iceman says:

tawn… eduardo didn’t dive, don’t buy into the media hype

  74. Gunnersmith says:

  79. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

it’s inevitable that he will score against, the question is how many

  80. Gunnersmith says:

    here we go again

  81. Pedro says:

BBK, only you could come out with a comment like that…

  82. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

pedro do you not think it will happen

  83. ethangunner says:

nice le chump he looks a bit like gary coleman :)

  84. iceman says:

    He might not play!!

  85. Pedro says:

    No way BBK… I don’t think he’ll get a sniff.

I thought he was a doubt?

  86. charybdis1966 says:

Yes Ethan, that is one of the many things that annoy me about our manager, his use of psychological encouragement to gee up our spirits about returning players. These ploys only work on pre-pubescents. I sometimes think he is better off just saying “we’re going to struggle for a bit but it gives “X” a chance to gain a place if he plays well” not just return one of his favourites to the starting 11 regardless of how well the replacement has performed.

  87. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

especially with our high line we play and vulnerability from crosses,he will be key at exposing that

  88. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

what tevez, robinho and bayor now are doubts

  89. ethangunner says:

    no pedro

i think the same way , ade is a prick , you know he will come out with trying to stick it to us .

and as ever just when ade is playing like a total pratt , the goals start flowing but to piss arsenal off ..

even if he only scores in 2 more games this season i bet it will be against us home and away !

  90. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

i read tevez and robinho were doubts but not bayor

  91. Pedro says:

BBK, how you can go from thinking he would be the reason for us failing last year… to him being the key man to expose us is beyond me.

I think we’ll deal with him and I’m hoping this is the game that will show him up…

He is big and strong… but so are Vermaelen and Gallas… plus… it’s not like they haven’t had plenty of time to practice against him.

  92. Arsenal Tom says:

im with BBK… i think if ade plays he’ll score… he’s got something to prove and is in good shape at the moment.

    i think it’ll be 1-1

  93. Pedro says:

Sorry guys… I’ve spent two years reading how shit he is… if there is ever a time to start reeling off what you hate about him… it’s now!

Less praise… more de-praise… oh yes, that’s a new word.

  94. ethangunner says:

chary , yes i think you might see theo for 10 minutes and even cesc will be used sparingly ..

i dont think much has changed injury wise in 10 days .

we might beat the manc’s mk II but it will be down to wenger ball more so over individual stars returning .

  95. iceman says:

Ethan you forgot hatricks against (cough) Wolves!!

  96. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

because he was shit pedro but id rather have him then bendtner

  97. Arsenal Tom says:

ade was never shit ability wise just fucked up mentally, he already came out and said if the fans love him then he’ll play well and if they dont, well we all saw first hand what happens… fair play to him for being honest (for once).

    still a cunt though

  98. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

He’s got off to a flyer and i just can’t see our defence coping with him when he’s up for it…

  99. ethangunner says:

    pedro

because ade is all ass and no class .
he will continue to be a thorn in our side even after we got shot of him …

yes he’s still crap , but im sure he has something special left in the tank for us ..

its what he needs … to fuel his media circus, to run his mouth …
because this guy never seems to get goals for us when they are needed , but when we dont need them
(against us ) so they will flow ..

    :)

  100. naija gunner says:

Great post but i dont think nasri or rosicky or walcot could start maybe a little cameo thou. dive watch seems outdated (rooney) and the goal watch i think the verminator has just scored once. keep up th great work

  101. Wonderboy says:

Christ, other-team syndrome has happened already, Ade was shite, we couldn’t wait to get rid!

  102. Geoff says:

So when Wenger said 6 weeks tops for Nasri, he meant 11 weeks if we’re lucky.

  103. iceman says:

He’ll score. So what. We should outscore them.

  104. charybdis1966 says:

I think the Pedro/BBK-Ethan argument highlights the enigma of Adebarndoor. How much of his crappiness was due to his innate lack of skill and/or footballing intelligence and how much to him being demotivated after being handed a bumper new deal?
I’m not sure – he’ll want to prove a point against us but I feel he is lacking in some areas. I want him to have a stinker against us, but I fear he’ll have a Villarreal-overhead-kick-moment against us.
However if he really is crocked it all becomes academic.

  105. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

you know what it’s like when they say stuff about the njury front geoff he will probably be back by 2011

  106. Arsenal Tom says:

i think it was 6 weeks till he can get the special boot off and start running probably another 2 till he can train properly with the first team

  107. frichie79 says:

ROFL, that Beyonce sentence is classic!

    SAMIR NASRI
    September 7
Arsène Wenger is hopeful that Samir Nasri will be available in October. Samir broke his leg during a training session in Austria in July.

  110. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

what women do you think ade will liken man citeh to?????

  111. Geoff says:

BBK he should have bought in a replacement, so he lied to us about the injury to save money, same with Djourou, he lies all the time.

I hope Gallas takes Ade out, he was the reason for the Gallas trouble.

  112. Rob green says:

Why does wenger lie to the fans!!

  113. Arsenal Tom says:

geoff… same as always then mate! 6 weeks for a broken leg!? i think we all knew that was nonsense!

JD is a weird one, if his knee was that fucked then surely we’d have known before he went away with the national team!?

  114. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

doesn’t he always lie to us geoff.

  115. iceman says:

Maybe the less he spends the higher his bonus?

  116. Franchise says:

shite or not ade was our best forward since thierry henry

the others are yet to take the league by storm

    my money is on vela

  117. Arsenal Tom says:

    rob….

to save cash and to get to play the likes of denilson and diaby

  118. Geoff says:

Because he thinks we are all stupid, that and he thinks we’ve all forgotten what he first said.

Like judge me in May, last season.

  119. insidealbania says:

Ade will not have a sniff.

  120. ethangunner says:

i think ade will play better for another team ,
just not arsenal , isnt that all we cared about ?

    is ‘our’ performance ?!
and he would suit a bolton or other skill-less
brute of a team , but 1st touch finesse football isnt his forte

im not even sure drogba would suit our style ,
but when you click with a team you can do no wrong , ade didnt click with arsenal he was a square peg in a round hole .

but its not to say he wont suit another teams profile !

    just not ours FFS !

so get off my back wondertart !

  121. Sabeel Indian Gunner says:

I atleast wish we get Rosicky back in this match,

Rosicky and arshavin – two intelligent players to combine and play with, would be awesome to watch.

    Sagna – Gallas – Verminator – clichy

    Song – Fabregas

    RVP – Arshavin – Rosicky

    eduardo

to support them rosicky, arshavin intelligence we need an intelligent striker, and that i feel eduardo is the one.

RVP can be swapped with Bendtner or Walcott.

That would be my time for City game

  127. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

lollll nice answers’s franchise and ethan

  128. Gunnersmith says:

i’m with you inside i think Verm will pocket him

  129. Geoff says:

Point is we all said great to selling Ade, but only because that gave us £25mil for a replacement, we have been sold out again I’m afraid.

We could have added £5mil to that and got a class act like Villa.

  130. Franchise says:

vp can join the Attack Midfield ranks if he wants to be an assister

Bendy well well still cant see why ppl get excited about him

eduardo – finisher extraordinaire. would wenger give him his central chance?

vela – there is something about mary

theo – hmmmm lets see him first this season

  131. I wish Samir, Theo & Rosexy quick recovery Up Gunners4live

  132. Wonderboy says:

  137. Sabeel Indian Gunner says:

I feel he doesnt contribute much to our team on the right,as his left foot is not so good to cut back from right and score with his left.

  138. Nick says:

shitty are like chelsea but with less class ;)

  139. Wiseman says:

There is only one thing we know about Wenger for sure:

  151. Arent we all proud that when clubs say no to buying a young promising player, we walk away unlike some other arrogant clubs plus we pay them excellent compensation not like other clubs taking talents for free [Kakuta].

Even La Havre said when they said no to us about Pogba, we walked away. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/united-next-to-fear-the-french-backlash-1781979.html

whats better virgin media or sky ?

    Club or country ?

  154. Arsenal Tom says:

anyone seen ramsey’s goal? great strike… headers and volleys kinda stuff!

  155. Sabeel Indian Gunner says:

Xcellent interview Franchise,u should be writing to one of this dramatic gossips

  156. Wonderboy says:

Assna are like Jordan, brilliant. If i laugh at Assna, am i racist?

  157. wilco says:

Beyonce haha that`s a good one! Yes I think they`ll play Adebayoffside as a lone striker , Robinho might not play and Tevez might still be too jet-lagged to play at his best , come on you Gunners 3-1 (yes, I think Ade will score one goal against us, he`s that good unfortunately !)

  158. Nick says:

sabeel everyone’s at it, think we started it with anelka in the mould it is now.
of course its been happening for years but wenger started the dedicated pillaging we see now with full time child snatchers on the books :)

  159. Wonderboy says:

Assna are like Jordan, very funny. If i laugh at Assna am i belittling someones race?

  160. gunnergetyou says:

i can imagine what sort of reception eduardo will get at wembley tomorrow, the england crowd will be full of lower league, flag waving retards, who consider foreign players to be scum of the earth.

  161. Wonderboy says:

I look like a dick now.

  162. Franchise says:

Journo: And finally Ade why do u have so much documents in your pocket

    ‘ade chuckles’

Badey: rell, i meet fans everywhear especially in the nite clubs and i want to have proof for the ones that dont believe that im earning over hundred thousand a week

  165. Franchise says:

i love conspiracy theories keep em coming

  166. Nick says:

Atom headers and volleys that was a classic game ain’t played that for i don’t know how long..but great call that describes the goal to a T

  167. Pedro says:

Big Dave, I’ve got a Danish guy who will bite your arm off for those… I’ve just e-mailed him to contact you… his name is Jesper.

  168. gunnergetyou says:

  171. Arsenal Tom says:

nick, yeah mate those were the good old days… smashing a volley at about 50 miles an hour at your mate from 5 yards!!!

  172. Pedro says:

    Cheers Bill!

  173. charybdis1966 says:

Re. the injuries – Arse.com, that well known disseminator of timely information, says they’ll have an update from Wenger on Thursday; so cue loads of crocks coming back from international duty.
My bet for an injury out of the blue? I’m going for Bendy to tweak a hammy tomorrow night.

  174. Pedro says:

    Blog fart?

  175. charybdis1966 says:

I’m only going for Bendy to get crocked as there is a scarey alternative that odesn’t bear thinking about.
What if the Verminator gets injured? We are royally screwed if that happens…cue Fish head.

  176. Pedro says:

That truly is the biggest worry…

People say that you can’t have a good back up because they’ll want to play… I’d disagree… if you are the Arsenal 3rd choice centre back, you’ll definitely get games and loads of them…

  177. ethangunner says:

    Franchise
vp can join the Attack Midfield ranks if he wants to be an assister

Bendy well well still cant see why ppl get excited about him

eduardo – finisher extraordinaire. would wenger give him his central chance?

vela – there is something about mary

theo – hmmmm lets see him first this season

    ——————————————-
yes if dudu gets injured i feel we will be in the shite for that very reason …

hence the reason i said we need a class striker.
what has Arsenal done with ade’s money ?

    i mean really ?

  178. ethangunner says:

    pedro

of course you can have good back up , you can rotate the squad , it keeps them injury free and fresh …

the problem is or back up players play more than the regulars .. and the rift between them is noticeable .

  179. Franchise says:

guys ive been feeling optimistic of late dont know why but hey

  180. Franchise says:

probably the reality of some quality returning from injury is making me feel jizzy in my pants

  181. rob green says:

Pedro – I also hate that excuse that you can’t have a good back up. A quality professional player doesn’t have that mentality!! They would join to try and force there way into the first team. Clubs like arsenal need to quality as backup due to injures and the amount of games we play!!

  182. Franchise says:

i think ive figured it out. im done moaning about wengers lack of transfer activity. for now at least

he might get away with this one and surprise the sceptics including myself but heaven helps him if he doesnt.

yeah yeah we know he has asked for 2 years already so if he wins nothing this year he would remind us of the duration of time he pleaded for

  183. Geoff says:

He also said judge him in May. He said that at the beginning of last season.

  184. Nick says:

Atom did you play 66, where you have to score within 66 second’s each time you got the number needed it went up by one the next time but the same rules as headers and volleys.
fuck im feeling old might round up some of the boys (old gits)and hit a park pitch… and every thing but the goal like in the good old days

  185. Geoff says:

Some pencil dick fuckwit just told me I was an armchair fan and should give up writing because I rate Nasri.

So Franchise, I guess we won’t be meeting up at the ground ever again, good news is, you can have my side of the armchair.

  186. rob green says:

If he doesn’t win a trophy this season then that’s it my opinion!! No more excuses, he isn’t having any more time!! He needs to go!! He has to go!!

  187. Nick says:

Geoff but who gets the remote ;)

  188. Arsenal Tom says:

NICK yeah mate but it was just 60 seconds round my way!

lets not forget wembeley doubles either!!

  189. rob green says:

Watch it on a sofa instead of armchair Geoff!! You can lay down when you’re tired of watching project youth :D

  190. goonermichael says:

    How are you Geoff?

  191. Nick says:

who would you get rob theres no obvious replacement for me and wenger still does more good then harm and his playing with his arm behind his back now everybody bar shitty is skint we should start to see the benefits of the sacrifice we have made trophy wise this year ie we will win something

  192. Nick says:

Atom yes great games wasted many a summer and a few winters on them.

off subject did anyone watch Ian wrights football behind bars last night????

  193. Arsenal Tom says:

i agree nick, although if we fall short because we loose song or verm/gallas and whoever comes in is clearly not good enough ill be massively fucked off with him for not spending the kolo & ade dosh

  194. Geoff says:

Nick you can hold it when Franchise goes in the ground!

Rob I lie down when I’m there, sometimes I have too!

Michael I’m in top form thanks mate!

  195. rob green says:

Don’t know who I would get in to be honest!! But Wenger was unheard of!! Someone is paid good money to find a replacement!!

Nick he keeps saying we have money mate. So either he is lying to the fans or he won’t spend the money!!

  196. Arsenal Tom says:

id take hiddink no problem… same money we pay wenger, top class manager and it would fuck them chavs off like you’d never believe

  197. Nick says:

    are thanks Geoff :)

Atom make you right he should have spent on the squad. he sees them more then us and we have started well and theres no point signing some one for the sake of it and if his saying all thats available is no better then what we got should only really be back up learning the trade… we are this far down the path to turn back would be worse then sticking to it now imo

  198. Jon says:

im quite confident we will beatem no matter whos on the field

  199. Arsenal Tom says:

nick, i agree… i just hope not buying doesnt come back to bite him on the bollocks!

imagine if we fade away again because of a lack of steel in midfield or having to play someone like eboue at CB… then he’d be in real trouble i think

  200. Nick says:

I really think steve bould will be the manager after wenger. His doing his learning with in the club the set up the ethos in a low key unpressurized way so far so good as well who better then him to take over hiddink is a good call but his a bit tarnished for me after the chavs job.But if we won the lot i could soon forgive him ;)

  201. kunle4fabregas says:

Please what happens if Croatia beat England on Wednesday? Does make Croatia qualfies for WC?

  202. rob green says:

Yeah its not like wenger not buying has caused problems before is it!! :D . We already have major injury problems and it’s the beginning of the season. It’s not like there has been a major torment pre season!!

Wait until the champions league and the cups start and we are playing twice a week etc.

  203. Nick says:

Atom i think weneger likes doing the opposite of what people say he should :) if everybody said dont sign anyone you fool your teams just right he would buy players left right and center im sure of it the contrary git

  204. Geoff says:

The thing is, had we signed a few players, we would have won the league by a mile, we don’t need to struggle.

Tom, not buying has come back to bite him 4 seasons in a row, but nothing happens.

  205. Geoff says:

    No kunle4

  206. rob green says:

New manager plan – Get rid of Pat Rice. Bring in a new young number 2 (Bould is possibility) and he can be our next manager!! on the other hand Hiddink or Capello will do!! :D

  207. Arsenal Tom says:

    nick probably right mate!!

  208. Nick says:

Geoff your right but maybe he thinks we have the players already not buying a cb/dcm was silly but if we can keep the team ethic going as everton and lesser teams have shown the collective can beat the individual in most games and i think this is the diffrance to last season not song being better just every one putting a shift in which is all i ask for.
Wear the shirt with pride and put the effort in it deserves

  209. Arsenal Tom says:

keown as number 2… add some balls to our mentality

  210. Nick says:

This 433 puts us on the attack playing to our streagths now he has to iron out the wrinkles ie stop playing players where their not comfortable and we will be unstoppable. Start by swapping nikki B up front with rvp on the right let arshavin have the ronaldo role of go where ever you want and for me were unbeatable

    Al
    sags gallas TV cichy
    cesc song rosicky
    rvp arshavin
    nikki b

  211. Big Raddy says:

The Mail (?) report that Ryan Babel is looking to leave the Dippers and who can blame him.

He looked a fine player a couple of years ago until Benitez decided he was a winger and not a CF,

Would you take him to THOF ?

    (IMO we have enough upfront)

  212. Big Raddy says:

We all seem to agree that the 4-3-3 suits our game. Why has it taken AW so long to see it?

  213. Franchise says:

geoff not only has not buying neccessary players cost wenger how about replacing key players with youth

since the day wenger decided cesc was vieira’s replacement it has all gone sour for us

cesc was a tremendous talent i agree but too much too early for a young lad if we were to be contenders. the trend has continued since and the cobwebs have increased in our trophy cabinet

  214. Rohan says:

i can’t wait for tomas fucking rosicky to come back. He would be the missing piece in our puzzle. If hestays fit he woudl defo score 10-15 goals imo.

  215. Nick says:

He sould have come when the chance was there instead of going there it was obvious wenger felt he was similar to henry so benitez tried to do what henry did winger too striker but he aint got the power and just wasted a talent instead of bringing it on.Wenger could get more out of him but will not pay the money they want or liverpool would want walcott in return imo

  216. Rohan says:

How about walcott + 30mill for torres and babel :D

  217. Bradys right foot says:

If Nasri, Walcott, Arshavin, Cesc, RVP, Bendy and Rosicky all make it fit for the weekend then i’ll be going back on the drink because that shit would just be too weird for am Arsenal fan to digest sober. That would leave only two fist teamers injured JD and Vela we’d almost be like a normal club what the fuck would lewin have to do with himself.

  218. zorr0 says:

Kunle4, no but frankly who gives a shit! Actually I guess I do as I hope that France, Spain, Cameroon, Russia and Croatia all fail to qualify, for obvious reasons. Can’t say it about Holland as they are already there!

Rob, no way would I want Capello. Hiddink maybe. I like the sound of Bouldy, but he is too inexperienced, I cannot fathom anyone coming in to manage a top 4 club as their first job. Would love to see him alongside AW now though.

  219. Arsenal Tom says:

raddy… on babel id say no probbaly mate unless he’s dirt cheap, we got theo and vela for those spots (any of the front 3) who arent playing so would rather spend elsewhere

  220. Jaguar says:

We wont win any trophies before the hypocrite that is Wenger, buries his ego and start seeing the reality.Till then,we will buy under 18s for millions, and refuse to spend money on quality players.Arsenal will buy the likes of bitchslaps, who would use all of our facilities only to fuck off to some other clubs.I doubt, anyother club in England would continue to pay such amouts to manager who doesnt want to open his eyes.

  221. George Leaney says:

Does anybody else share my opinion that Arsenal have got there training wrong !!
There seems to be alot of groin strains, hamstring and various other strains or muscle/ligament problems
Perhaps someone should look at what they are doing on the training field
Other clubs don’t seem to have the same amount problem

  222. Franchise says:

i agree George. i think that the overall training and medical sides be reviewed

  223. tomstoned says:

    Afternoon All..

Thx for the post Geoff…and im pleased to hear ure doing better mate :)

i am not pro us buying anyone,i think we have an incredible squad ..more than capable of winning the premier….not only this year but for years to come, however i think besides from the one transfer that most certainly already haven been made (Chamakh)Wenger will also buy one CB,depending on the departure of Senderos…Djourou’s injury will push the transfer…so i think we will do that come january..

The only problem Wenger have,is obvious..he’s grooming Song as the next CB…while Nasri will be Our next holding midfielder…so injuries keeps us from shaping the team as Wenger wants for now…

This is the most exciting Arsenal Squad ever…lets enjoy folks…

    tom.

  224. charybdis1966 says:

God eftermiddag, Tom. It’s quiet here today – the international week is a nuisance for us goners.

  225. Rohan says:

Against lower teams, could a midfield 3 of cesc nasri and rosicky work ? That would be the ultimate attacking trio in midfield any team could hope to have

  226. Nick says:

George said the same myself maybe look at what ac do i know the league is less demanding but the players seem to go on longer and seem to go with out injury. Anchovies said there is a science to it not just luck worth a go imo

  227. Rohan says:

Dont’ we play a lot of 5 a side style football in training focussing on pasing and movement ?

  228. Nick says:

rohan nasri started in the middle a lot towards the end of last season think this could be another option doubt it would be 1st choice but who knows!!! ;)

  229. tomstoned says:

    Hei der Charybdis..

Ja enig…og med det landslaget vi har ,,er det enda verre…;)

but big match coming up this weekend so we’ll survive mate :)

    tom

  230. charybdis1966 says:

Wow Tom, you lost me there. I’ve only picked up a few phrases of Swedish(similar to Norsk) from watching Wallander on TV here in the UK. It sounds good whatever you said though.

  231. rob green says:

Why does wenger find the need to play people out of position to prove a point!!

  232. choy says:

    Evening Grovers…

    Whats happening?

  233. tomstoned says:

    Charybdis mate..

you got me there…hehe i was just telling that the international break is even worse when you support a national team like Norway…the play like shit…;)

    Wallander is great though…

    tom

  234. Rohan says:

I meet a lot of Swedes while playing WoW ( world of warcraft and the greatest game ever as far as I’m concerned. ) :D

  235. Rohan says:

    adjö anyway :D

    I’m off

  236. charybdis1966 says:

I thought it was something like that Tom, it makes things harder to bear but, as you say, at least it’s only Saturday to wait to. And I’m lucky enough to be there to see our boys against Wigan at the Grove on the 19th.
When they show the Swedish language version of Wallander they say it contains strong language – but as few of the viewing UK public know scandinavian swearing it seems a bit pointless to say so. I always concentrate when the subtitles show a swear word though !

  237. Mayank says:

Chary you seem like something of a language enthusiast. A little bit of a good lot of languages and the swear words of most.

  238. tomstoned says:

    Adios Rohan …mon dieu…es gibt..to many languages here at once..muy bien ;)

Charybdis we’ll forget all about international’s once we smash manc to kingdom come mate :)

    Evenin Choy…all well ?

    Tom

  239. lc says:

Behonce looks quite a different player to me since joining City. He is not often caught up off side and his shooting is what surprises me the most.
My team against City won’t be too different from the one that has lost against United.

    Almunia.

    Sagna- Gallas- Vermaelen- Clichy.

    Eboue- Song- Cesc.

    RVP- Bentner- Arshavin. 4-3-3.

    AW’s team:

    Same back four.

    Cesc- Song- Denilson.

    Bentner- RVP- Diaby. 4-3-3. Crap.

    Arshavin may not be fit.

  240. charybdis1966 says:

I see the Middle Eastlands mob have made Kolo their skipper and the Arsh is fit for the Wales game.
No doubt Hiddink will be on orders from Anchovie to play him for the full 90 minutes.

  241. choy says:

    Evening Tom…

    Yes all well.. thank you..

    Hope you doing good too!

  242. tomstoned says:

    Choy mate..

Good..Yes all well here on the northern front…snow is lurking though…but what the heck..its going to be a fantastic Arsenal year so who cares ;) ..

    tom

  243. tomstoned says:

    Choy mate..

What do you think about this…Wenger is grooming Song for a CB role,is that for the possibility to play three at the back in certain games…Gallas,Song,Vermaelen…..could give another perspective in some games and would provide one hell of an attacking team if needed…

i cant get rid of the thought that Wenger plans for it ..??

    tom

  244. Coadsi says:

I don’t know if u guys saw this list. Some how i expected to see Rafa in the top 10 as well.

England boss Fabio Capello is better paid than the Premiership’s highest earning managers, it has been revealed.
A list of the top ten best paid coaches in the game has been published by Sport, with former Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari rated No1 at Uzbekistan’s Bunydkor on an amazing €16.6 million salary.
    The full list:
    1) Luiz Felipe Scolari (Bunydkor): €16.6m
    2) Jose Mourinho (Inter Milan): €11m
    3) Fabio Capello (England): €8.8m
    4) Sir Alex Ferguson (Manchester United): €7m
    5) Roberto Mancini (still paid by Inter Milan): €6m
    6) Carlo Ancelotti (Chelsea): €6m
    7) Manuel Pellegrini (Real Madrid): €5.5m
    8) Louis van Gaal (Bayern Munich): €5.2m
    9) Guus Hiddink (Russia): €5m
    10) Arsene Wenger (Arsenal): €4.8m

  245. rob green says:

Wenger isnt grooming song as a centre back. He would never play him with gallas and Vermaelen at the back IMO

  246. Arsenal Tom says:

song doesnt look like hes got what it takes to be a CB… not enough of a leader

  247. tomstoned says:

well its just a thought…but you should listen to what Wenger says about Song..and thats pretty clear he will be a CB…but it may be a bit early….

    tom

  248. A says:

tomstoned wenger will never play a back 3, and it would be more defensive rather than attacking, you’d still have full backs, they’d just be a bit more attacking.

Wenger always saying that he thinks Song will end up as a centre back makes me think he’ll be competing with jd to take over from gallas alongside vermaelen

  249. choy says:

tom… with our defense.. playing 3 would be suicidal… almunia hardly is able to save a couple of shots in a game… imagine if the opponents have about 10 shots on goal

Song as a CB? well he has said that a couple of times, but in the position that he plays now.. just sits on top of the back 4.. isn’t it already like a defender?

  250. Carlos says:

personally i think we’ll destroy citeh on saturday. no reason why we can’t win 3-0 with arsh, fab and v.p pulling the strings up front.

something telling me this game could be bendtner’s take-off for the season….interesting battle between him and greedybayor =]

  251. Big Raddy says:

Gallas is getting old. TV is the obvious leader of the defence, so it will not matter if Song has leadership qualities or not.

& we regularly play with 3 at the back. We have a FB bombing forward and leaving 3 at the back. Often it is 2 with a covering MF

  252. choy says:

    Evening BR.

  253. A says:

wilshere starts for the u21, anyone got a stream for it?

  254. tomstoned says:

    A mate..

http://www.myp2p.eu usually provides links for almost all european football….check it out…and i hope you’ll find a link there :)

    tom

  255. tomstoned says:

    A mate..

    http://www.myp2p.eu could have a link ..

    tom

  256. KM in WALES says:

this could be a tight game as City have a good attack which will severely test our defence. whats the chances of ADE scoring…..? :)

  257. …ucking time machine

  258. Keith says:

    iraggoals.net u21 england game

  259. fuck this, I’m off to the ’71 Cup Final…she wore, she wore, she wore a yellow ribbon, she…..

  260. Keith says:

Wilshire was so close to scoring a wander goal

stream for u21 england match is on http://www.iraqgoals.net/ch3.html

  261. Keith says:

    *meant “wonder” goal !

  262. That chip was sublime

  263. Keith says:

    Supergunner07

I missed the first 10 mins of the U21 game but saw the “chip” it reminded me of Brady arrogance many years ago or a Bergkamp type effort !

At times the other players don’t seem to be on Wilshires wave length, but he seemed to grow in confidence as the half went on.

The Greeks goal was very lucky deflection I thought.

  264. choy says:

    Did he score?

  265. @ Keith Sotrinis Ninis of Panathiniakos is an exceptional talent[No.7 who scored], he is giving England aran around with movement, vision, passing and dribbling

  266. Keith says:

    Supergunner07

I agree that Greece were definitely getting the better of us and our attacks especially from halfway through the 1st half were basically counter attacks.

He does look like a good player though, he’s young so maybe Wenger will get him???

  267. Keith says:

No Choy Jack didnt score but the chipped effort basically was a few inches away from the corner junction of the goal.

He was just outside the area, under pressure from a defender and turned and chipped the ball in one movement. As Supergunner07 says it was sublime but unfortunately not quite on target!

  268. choy says:

    oh fack.. anyways..

    thanks keith.

  269. Keith says:

That miss by the Greek No 9 with 2 mins to go was worse than anything Adebarndoor has ever missed!!! Unbelievable.

  270. @ keith, Gibbs marked Ninis out properly in 2nd half hence Greece had to move him to the other flank.

Anyway the U21′s midfielder lack vision to play forward passes to the attacker situated in-between-the-lines. Muamba, Cattermole, Rodwell, Noble, Miles Addison arent the answer in that position

What do you think abt the WELSH Secretary Peter Hain is threat to boycott the BBC’s political debate programme Question Time over proposals to invite the British National Party to take part.
BNP leader Nick Griffin has already been interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme and has also appeared on the Andrew Marr show on BBC1.

Bendtner has become an increasingly important member of the Arsenal side over the last couple of seasons and he signed a new long-term contract last week.

Arsene Wenger appreciates his overall contribution but the Dane realises that he must improve on a modest goalscoring record.

The 21-year-old is confident he will be more prolific this season and aims to find the target at least 20 times.

“In order to qualify as one of the world’s greatest attackers, then you are judged on the number of goals you score,” Bendtner told Politiken.

“You could have all the characteristics but if you don’t score people can say “Yes, he knows all the stuff but he has just scored 10 goals in 40 games.’

“Of course that’s not a good record. I hope to see that I score 20-25 goals in 40 games.”

If Bendtner does not reach his goals target, he would like to compensate in another way.

He added: “If I get a Premier League season where I score 10 times and have 30 assists, I think that would be OK as well.”

    mid:walcot rosiky fabregas nasri arshvin/diaby&song

    str: rvp/bendtner&edwardo

wenger really needs to bring some experience defenders in to step in for injures and a new keeper

  290. Afghansolid gunner says:

I can’t wait to see rosicky back at the game he’s been out for a long time now, come on gunners let’s tear them uppppp adelazytor watch out :d

anyone who thinks that idiot eboue brings anything good to the team is an imbecile

  292. ethangunner says:

wow no action for over 1 hour on Le grove prior to midnight !

yes i agree we havent had too much to really chat about in the off season 2 going 1 coming , all rather uneventful ..

i look at players like modric – lennon – lescott etc . ( eg young players who are not arsenals )

and i dont see much improvement over all in there games either , so to say song – denilson
    - diaby – eboue are just a bee’s dick away from doing a flamini is pretty remote ..

i think over time a TEAM with a new tactic might work better overall , but i think very few players get A LOT better individually that its noticeable .

Sure i think modric ( like song) are playing better due to their understanding of the league now, but to turn into the next zidane , well youll need to leave that to nasri :)

i think the only way to truly get results is to get in new personnel .

i think currently we are a team that just wasnt quite good enough on the day , or UNLUCKY ..

Arsenal fans would make bad gamblers ..

  293. Amz says:

spot on with van/Rosi and arsha up front, finaaaaally some isnt picking theo above rosi, coz a half fit rosi is better than a fully fit theo 4 me.glad we will have more options now, especially up front and creativety wise, even defence i think we are more or ike covered, maybe missing that BIG cb we all asked for but we should be fine as long as willy and verla stay fit.
got a feeling ADE will score against us tho,but he will still lose obvsly!!
Citez 1 arsenal 3……………put ur bet on that!!

  294. Angelos says:

I believe positivity is a stronger force than negativity. I mean I’m all for negativity when it’s due but 3 games into a season? C’mon, honestly? Song is this, Denilson is that, Eboue is both…doesn’t it become slightly tiring after a certain point?

Everyone has players they dislike, hell, I have tons, but when people keep repeating themselves the accusations of shitness begin to lack credibility and just end up sounding like aggressive ramblings.

I agree with Ethan, fresh quality faces would definitely help in a long season, (especially one interrupted by an African Nations Cup) but what can you do? I don’t see how complaining is going to help.

Arsenal fans are usually well aware of quality so it’s strange that people spend most of their time complaining about 4 or 5 players when a quick glance to the other side will give you Van Persie, Rosicky, Fabregas, Arshavin, Nasri, Eduardo, Sagna, Wilshere and perhaps if he keeps it up Vermaelen.

Every team has a few duds, but don’t get so caught up over it and try to enjoy the season. The way most people are going about it makes us look like a bunch of whinging, pessimistic and fearful set of fans.

Having said that the inability of the team to put the Man U game out of sight or at the very least lock down our lead was extremely frustrating. Holding a lead isn’t something you learn… just something you do.

sorry to disappoint you angelos but it doesn’t matter if you speak proudly or disrespectfully
of the team , it wont make a bit of difference .

the only difference is you do not look like a chump if you you dont buy into the teams fortunes this season ..

because to me its just another year when wenger promises miracles and its another year that they will fail to materialize …

if you think somethings changed this season then your kidding yourself ..

beat the easy teams and fail at the final hurdle V’s stiff opposition . its not talking out your ass , its based on the previous past 5 years !

man shitty will show you what spending some money makes to a team …
the chev’s did it , man U did it ..
and whilst we FAIL to do it

history is bound to repeat , it…

its called the law of averages ..

    ethan

    I agree with u,

But we have No Control on this, transfer activities

    But according to me,

Our success will depend on two factors

    1) Injury free Centre backs
    2) Performance of Denilson & Diaby

If these 2 factors work in our favour,we can Definitely challenge for the Title/Cups

  298. Sabeel Indian Gunner says:

See,we have to live with that we have….and the above 2 factors are deciding factors for us,according to me..
