So it now looks like we are about to lose Kolo and Eboue, I have to say I’m not too bothered as Kolo is not the Kolo of old and Eboue is a right back that is basically a back up to Sagna.
Both will be going to the ACN so we would have lost them in the business end of the season anyway, add Ade to that and it’s not all bad, however, and there is a big HOWEVER, losing them to our biggest rival is not so clever and losing them without replacing them would be completely stupid and the biggest mistake in Arsenal’s history, even bigger than buying GLENN HELDER.
We will have some £49 million to spend in the event they go and that is half way to the famous £100 million that Wenger said if he had, he would be stupid not to spend it, so I believe he will spend it and surprise everyone.
The mystery to me is these two have been the subject of going for the whole summer now, so why leave it so long? It also seems odds on we will be selling Senderos as well, so that £49 could well turn into £58 million.
We could fill our boots with that sort of cash and bring in the players we have been dreaming of all summer, like David Villa and Alonso, or Huntelaar and Toulalon or Hangeland and Matuidi, or Numbchucks and De Rossi, the list goes on, and I would be happy with any of them, but I will be devastated if we sign no one.
This money isn’t far off what Usmanov was offering us, and that may be why Arsene and the board turned it down, with the players we could lose against the players we could bring in, it could be the difference between us winning the league or us finishing 5th, it really is in our hands and with all the other teams seemingly having finished their business, it could make us the only team in the park with a bag of cash and given that we won’t be competing with anyone, it won’t cost us a fortune to buy what we need, so much choice, so much money and the big stick.
This could be the week we’ve all be waiting for, nay dreaming of, dare we?

Arsenal legend Ian Wright last night sensationally claimed Patrick Vieira is going to rejoin the Gunners.

Hows it going grovers? Thoughts on the game tday? First half we dominated cause Fab was facking fantastic, Bendtner is coming along well, Song had a resonable game, Vermaelen and Gallas seem to have a good understanding already, Traore is lightning quick, and RVP is class.
Ramsey, Denilson, JD had a pretty shit game imo. Denilson probably being the worst player of the game.
I like the 4-3-3 btw, quite Barca-ish except the problem is we have cesc, song, denilson and they have xavi, iniesta, yaya. I can see us competing if Nasri, Cesc and Rosicky form a partnership or Song in there if we need to be more defensive.
I think players like Silvestre and even more so Paddy are there more for the mental side in the dressing room then pysical contribution on the field. Besides they would both happily sit on the bench if asked to and are virtually free. I would welcome back Paddy with open arms if that were to happen. Maybe he could teach Ramsey, Song, Denilson, Diaby a thing or two.
And personally I am not so sure about Villa. He is a bit of a luxury player imo. Also has been injury prone in the past and known to throw a fit when things are not going his way. Also, I don’t believe he is as clinical as some on here think he is. Unless we get a great deal, I would pass up on him. Besides with Eduardo, Rvp, Bendtner, Arshavin, Walcott we do not need a big signing in that area. Imo Hunter would be a better and cheaper addition.

If Giggs and Scholes can play part time and be successful then I think Paddy can as well. Plus “free” is way to enticing to pass up for Wenger as we all know.
And let me just whisper this gently, Silvestre has looked “alright” in pre-season. At his age and skill he knows playing time will be at a premium so he needs to do the job when asked. And finally, I never liked the guy as a player much but as a 5th choice CB/LB he is acceptable. If Senderos goes I hope Wenger buys a CB otherwise Verma/Gallas/JD/Senderos/Song/Silvestre would be acceptable imo.

Don’t know enough about Toulalan so hard to say. He is a French international but I have heard some bad reports about him as well that he would not cut it outside of ligue 1. De Rossi imo would be class, I like him, have for quite a while. He is essentially what we would hope Denilson would become in 3-4 yrs but would come with a hefty price tag so can’t see that happening at all.

Villa vs Huntelaar is a no brainer, Huntelaar is a stroller, Villa is a romper.
I would not mind seeing the back of Eboue too much though ikon. He is an able RB but has not really improved since his breakthrough year. He does not want to seem to sit on the bench any longer so the door is open if he wishes to engineer a move. I suppose the best part about him is he is a utility player but often loses concentration and decides to go on runs to nowhere. I like his attacking ability, which I think is superior to Sagna but to have a player sit on the bench that doesn’t wish to won’t happen. Also, perhaps we can start to blood Coquelin as a backup RB (similar to Gibbs last term on the left), remember Flamini played all over the park for several years before slotting in as a DM for us.

LAst night match was frustrating to say the least. Yes it was a very physical, but out lack of attacking game might be a sign of things to come. We havent improved in our attacks very much since last season, and I still dunno how Denilson and Song can play together. IT has to be either one of them ffs.
Yesterday’s match was pretty much typical of what happened last season. Our first choice 11 is threatning to any team imo. But take Cesc, Walcott, Rosicky, Eduardo etc, out of the team and we struggle to create. First half, with mostly our first choice 11 we rocked 96, second half we could barely put a few passes together in midfield and the strikers looked isolated with no service. BTW if we ever do sell Cesc it better not be for a penny less then 50 mill imo, he is absolute class and still only 22 ffs. If he sticks around though and Jack/Rambo/Nasri can make it to even 80% of the player he is we will be unstoppable in midfield.
atleast if we get villa, that would mean we will be securing cesc’s future with us for another 3 years.

Atleast Song has shown definite improvement but is not near first 11 quality imo. Some of the young ones coming up already look better then Denilson, if Wenger is so obessed with growing a team they might as well get a shot if he is allowed to play day in and day out right now.

As for Denilson, and he passes at someone at 90 mph and then that player losing it, I’ve been saying that all season, it will go down as a completed pass though and that’s why stats are shit.
Kelsey-with Denilcrap, Song, Eboue in midfield I am afraid AW is looking like somewhat an idiot atm. If he is on a clear out mission then get rid of Denilson and Diaby and get a genuine “world class” DM so Song and Coquelin can progress as understudies.
If Wenger had known that about Kolo then he should never had taken him on a pre season tour, he should have swapped him for Richards, whom he’ll replace and he should have bought another player in time for pre season.

Ya Wenger’s planning leaves a lot to be desired. If he was aware he was going to leave then why take up someone elses spot for pre-season. If he did not know he was going to leave and just happend to receive a fax with a good enough offer and decided to accept it then that is bad planning as well and just goes to show we indeed are a “feeder” club at this point.

Geoff, I have been saying this all along – Wenger’s man management skills are shit and victims of this are as follows:
- Le Bob (victim of ridiculous policy not to give players older than 30 more than 1 year contracts, when I found out about Fishface getting 2 years, I was not the best pleased)
- Flam (whored to shite outfits like B’ham, then offered a new contract when he was about to run out)
- Kolo (rotating players to keep them happy is not that hard)
I could think of a few more lapses, like not dumping Adebarndoor to the reserves when he started chucking toys out of the pram a year ago and giving him a massive payrise: now THAT is sending out some message to the squad, eh?
let’s face it, without Dein AW is just a good coach and that is it – no offence to Gazidis, but if you compare him to DD, then he is just an outsider when it comes to transfer dealings, etc.
