Board warning from a fan…!

Gutten tag Grovers, this mornings first guest post is brought to you by David from the comments section, enjoy! Check back at 0730 for the second guest post instalment!

She was my high school sweetheart.

Her name is Lara.

And she’s arguably the greatest love of my life. We did everything together.

On one of our puppy love adventures….I remember distinctively sneaking into the sickbay to pretend i was sick…. and she’d do the same ….you’d be hard pressed to find another jewel like that that would stick with you through your utter stupidity and love you for it all the same….she always had this smile you see…the kinda smile that broke down piss poor attitudes…the kinda woman that saves troubled young men you see….with her deft touches, her graceful stride and her dogmatic expressions…

“Either you do what it takes to change…or Im off…Ive had enough”

And i would listen. I’d always listen.

On my return from vacation, I discovered that she was gone.

Vanished. No word. No goodbyes.

‘I wished to all things celestial that I’d have one last chance to see her and hold her once more…and i would get my wish at a Senior year party. She looked ever so lovely…but my pride and my hurt didnt let me speak just yet. I was angry you see…i couldn’t understand why she left without telling me….she would come over to speak with me but id ignore her…and she looked ever so sad….I told myself we’d patch things up later….the last dance is the slow dance…I’ll grab her by the arm…pull her close…and tell her i love her…and that would be that…nothing else would matter.’

Stay with Me… by Al Green… One of My all time favourites.

When the call for the last dance goes…she’s nowhere to be found…her best friend tells me..

“She just left really upset and she was crying and she didnt tell me where she went”

I never knew why she left…until the powers that be invented facebook…but thats another story…

Let me be the first to admit that until last summer I was and still in many regards an AKB. Yes…I chanted the chants…I wear my colors and with every other sentence I would finish it off with Arsene Knows…

Conversation with friend the Summer of 2005.

Friend: Abramovich and his *expletive* money…ruining the league.
Me: Chelsea are looking Scary at the moment. We came second though.
Friend: Arsenal? You know you guys arent going to win anything for another 4 years right?
Me: WTF are you talking about? Has any team in the World ever been invincible before?
Friend: No, Im just saying that youre Manager had this project/experiment that he did in Monaco he…
Me: Nonesense…Wenger took an otherwise abysmal Monaco team to a champions league final…the man is Greatness…Legend…We will win it all next year…

Does this conversation sound familiar? If you find yourself nodding then chances are you are not alone.
To paraphrase…lets use The Board, Lack of Cash, And Stadium as = BCS

  • The BCS are not to blame for us using the 4-5-1 when we shouldve used 4-4-2.
  • The BCS are not to blame for Zero substitutions/half time adjustments when clearly IT WASNT WORKING!
  • The BCS are not to blame for a perfectly fit Almunia and Eduardo sitting on the bench When Chelsea took a watery crap on us at the Emirates.
  • The BCS are not to blame for injury prone players like Diaby and Rosicky that have NEVER failed to disappoint and yet we have not found replacements?
  • Speaking of players the BCS are not to blame for the disgrace that is Silvestre.
  • The BCS are not to blame for piss poor attitude from the players…Yes Adebayor Inclusive…We seem to forget that the WHOLE TEAM was Lazy start of the season….Is it not down to the Manager to Motivate the Team?
  • The BCS is not to blame that we dont field our best potential and we stick with the dead wood, night in and night out….The Minute Bendy decided to start playing ball he was Benched for a Lazy Adebayor, The minute Carlos Vela started to show promise…we didnt just benched him…he disappeared into the reserves….the very day Jay Simpson Scored fantastic goals against a fully organized Premiership Wigan team he was shipped out on loan….the minute JD decided to stop committing stupid fouls and start putting in class act performances for Kolo Toure…he disappeared…the minute Alex Song yes people if we are Honest with ourselves…Alex Song Started to do a job in central midfield….he was shipped to Center back…and the hapless Denilson took his place….Jacky Boy Wonder, Ramsey all suffered serious dip informs either underplayed or being played out of position.

I understand it is easy to point fingers….and say this is what you did wrong…but for 4-5 years? We couldnt find a DM? We couldnt find a good RW/LW winger? One Class Keeper/CB?

Jabba offered to give us 60-100 million and we said no???

Grovers,

We still have time to put things right…we dont know what is going on financially…nobody can seem to tell the truth at our club. But what we do know is that this team as is…is not good enough.

We almost missed out on Arshy…. lets not miss out on Matuidi, Melo, M.Diarra, Toulalan,…

I told you a story of my high school sweety…dont be like me Arsenal…Swallow your pride…eat that humble pie…bring back Flamini…we are hurting since he left…he is hurting since he left….so is Cesc…do the right thing…and appreciate the Flamster and bring him back…the last dance is one week left…we might never know the real reason why Flamster left us so suddnely even though we all thought he would return….but we CANNOT afford to stick with DEnilsong another year…Diaby for DM? God help us all. This is the time to grow stronger when the opposition is Ronaldoless…and with a new Coach…and with the Back 4′s all pushing and shoving each other around…

Arsenal…do it for the fans…or else the fans will be off without warning as well.

nice post..it’s true BCS is not to be blamed for all the wrong subtitution, team selection and formation. it’s him and he only to be blamed..Arsene Wenger. i do enjoy all those slick passing and movement, however for tactical awareness AW is clueless..

Flamini left for a little bit more cash, which i think is the fualt of the board for not wanting to meet to his demands..having the flamster back will do a world of good to cesc and arsenal..swallow the pride and bring back flamster, if not get Lorik Cana, his clone.

  2. izham

we’re 2 players away from challenging for the title..get a proper CB and DM, tall, experienced, no nonesene and one who will die for the cause..Cana and the chap from Fulham fit the bill..
time to get rid of silvestre, diaby and denilson..Theo should play up top cos he’s got no clue when playing out wide, always running into blind alleys and not trying to take on the defender..he’s just speed with no end product..up the gunners

  3. Matt

Is this a joke or just trying to win a bad faith contest? I should not judge too quickly, perhaps it’s part one of a serie where later on you will point out all the rights decisions made by Wenger? Somehow I doubt it.

Dude, if you were that pathetic with her no wonder she left you…

  4. Cartman

    For u Pedro:
    Why do birds suddenly appear
    Every time you are near?
Just like me, they long to be
    Close to you.

Why do stars fall down from the sky
    Every time you walk by?
Just like me, they long to be
    Close to you.

lucky me, these things like love are not for me!

  5. Tundeikokoro

May be 5th….a stitch in time….i’ll be glad to see flamini back.flash back to 07/08 when flamini plays we did not lose except if he is substituted

  6. Matt

Matuidi is the DM of a french side who barely managed to stay in the top league.
M.Diarra had lost his grit long before he got injured for well over half a season.
Toulalan is on the wane and he never impressed much even at the top.
None of them is better than what we have. Wishing for those players to be bought just proves that it’s not improving the team that really matters to you, that’s just your excuse.

  7. Maximus

    Nice piece.

I can honestly say that I felt that things would go badly pear-shaped for Arsenal right after Wenger started dismembering the Invincibles – leg by leg, arm by arm.

You could see he was pissed off with Abramovich and Mourinho, missing out on potential transfer targets.

    It smelt distinctively rotten.

That’s when he began to tinker, and cut deeper into the Invincibles. The players could smell it too, and Vieira, Henry, etc, promptly began jumping ship.

It was a nightmare, and I expressed my views elsewhere and got howled down. I live in Australia and despite being a long way from the coal-face, it was like a tornado had hit me bang in the face.

Like I said, I could smell it.

And so to project youth, and the diabolical mess we’re in.

Even the accounts don’t seem to stack up, not when you look at players’ wages and the amount of debt Arsenal still owe.

Wenger’s vanity project needs to end NOW.

I still can’t believe Arsenal are now a selling club – that, to my knowledge, has never been the case – and I’ve stuck around for many, many years.

There’s a huge cloud hanging over the Emirates – how I wish for Highbury, but that’s another story – and it gets darker every year.

Stop this madness Wenger, stop your money-grubbing ways Fiszman, retire to your mansion Hill-Wood.

A paradigm shift is needed at Arsenal before it reverts to being just another mid-table, lowly ambitious, gentleman’s club.

    brillant!

pedro, i date girls only to break my dad’s record! u shud try to do it, u wont have heartbreaks :D

  9. Pat

Cana clone of Flamini? Try Matuidi clone of Flamini but better going forward than the Flamster. Although Flamini has 2 assists in 2 games for Milan in the past week.

  10. gunaglory

you are completely right, except i do disagree on the cb story, gallas and toure do a great job, but we do need another one incase one of them come down with an injury, djourou is a good replacement but not good enogh to take on ade at city, own at man u and drogba or anelka.
we definitely do need a strong dm.
For flamini, he was great, him n cesc worked great together but i doubt he will come back, i would love to see him back in a gunner shirt, but doubt it.
for me we need a class striker! wenger mustnt only go for the cheap ones, he wont pay the big bills but if he is willing to pay for them we will get goals in return.
Huntelaar will be great i can see him and arsharvin working great toether
    CMON GUNNERS!!

  11. Cartman

    ohhh, sheyi the cry baby!

It’s a strange thing in football.

When a player plays well everybody loves him. I’d just scored 30 goals in [the 2007-08] season, and it wasn’t my fault Milan or Barcelona or Real Madrid want to sign me. The fans never understood that; they never understood why [those clubs] wanted to buy me. I couldn’t understand why they were after me. I’d done everything, made a speech, played for three years, done my best. The way the fans behaved towards me was not nice at all.

Every single summer and December, Barcelona try to buy Cesc but the fans never turned on him. But that’s life. It’s behind me,

  12. izham

le boss should bring back flamini, he should bury his ego and bring the flamster back..

    first he’s french..
second he’s played at the highest level
third he’s a proven talent in the EPL
fourth he’s good mates with Cesc

if we can’t buy flamster, we should try to get him on loan for at least 2 seasons..

  13. Matt

Matuidi? Man have you watched any Saint-Etienne game this season? They were shit and most of their opponents bossed the midfield. In the french ligue where most of the teams would be bitten by the english league 1 teams.

Stop flattering yourself, it’s not because AW unearthed gems like Sagna that you can pick the noisiest black in the french league and make him the solution to our problems in midfield. Next are you going to suggest buying Cisse to replace Adebayor?

  14. Cartman

Matt, i dont really know if matuidi is good or not and personally i dont think he can solve our dm problem! but a good player cannot really shine amongst crap players, can he?

  15. izham

project youth must stop now or we’ll end up like monaco..the youth must be brought in gradually not be thrown into the deep end..kids don’t win you the league, you need both experience and youth to go hand in hand..

  16. gunaglory

every one is sayin that in the PAST we have spent little in transfer season and won,
    but thats the past
now with the big money clubs buying here and there, we must spend!
im not sayin spend 200 mill like real but at least 30 , all we have spent is i think 5 for vermaleen i mite be mistken but its not near the amount the other big 4 have been spending!

  17. Pat

Matt, never question my knowledge of ligue 1 players you ignorant fool. Is it a coincidence that St. Etienne became shit when matuidi got injured? For your information, Matuidi started off the season on fire as did St. Etienne. Matuidi gets injured, what happens? St. Etienne enter a relegation battle. While he was fit, they did really well so do your research before you spew useless shit. He’s a quality player.

Remember the St. Etienne of 07/08?? Most say Gomis was their player of the year, but Matuidi was just as important to their successful 5th place finish, if not more.

He’s better for us than Xabi Alonso would be.

Cana is shit so everyone should stop heralding him after watching a youtube vid. Actually, he’s not shit but he’s overrated by you lot. Better than what we have, but I’d rather have Poulsen over him for the same price. Same type of player as well except Poulsen is a better tackler.

  18. saminator

i totally agree. bring back flamini…a gunner told me the other day that arsenal never accept back a player they have sold. please gunners’ board swallow your pride and get the flamster back, otherwise we do really appear now like a selling club and it’s really too much. even king henry has warned, fabregas will go if we win nothing and believe you me wenger and co will become a laughing stock and we gunners will never make it, stand warned!

  19. David

    Morning all,

Thanks for your comments…I really appreciate them.

    Matt,

To suggest that none of those players are as good as or better than what we have has to be by far the most stupid thing i have heard this year…

M.Diarra is no better than Denilson? Haha…what a laugh.

  20. Pat

Also MATT, using your illogical assumptions, tell us all how impressive Flamini was for Milan this season? Obviously it makes him a shit player, correct? Typical ignorant football fan who runs his mouth about players he doesn’t regularly watch. Matuidi looked a lot more impressive in a “shit” team than Flamini did while surrounded by better players.

No one has seen my judge Vermy on here. Why? Cause I don’t know shit about the Dutch league and I won’t judge a player based on preseason or youtube vids.

  21. Matt

Granted they probably had other problems in and off the field at Saint-Etienne. But honestly I’ve seen nothing that would justify all the noise he is making about wanting to join us.

Buying a player would only work if it’s the right player. We have a good team and on his performances towards the end of the season, Song is a better player than all the names thrown around. And he’s 21, he will only get better.

As for the experience, our entire defence is experienced, Cesc has 5 years at high level, Rosicki, Arshavin, Van Persie, Eduardo are all experienced. How much more do we need?
And this season we will all enjoy watching what too much experience will do to Chelsea…

  22. gunaglory

Pat? i dont understand, did u say that flamini was good playing for a shit team (arsenal)
not saying n e thin i just dont understand what you have said :)

  23. Clockpocalypse

Some fair points on Wenger? But he is still one of the best in football. His in game management rightfully deserves some criticism. Yet some of the points made in the post are pretty shaky.

    a) The club simply do not spend any money (net) in the transfer market. Further, despite what the Board say, our wage bill is lower than the other top sides as it includes the reserves and football staff.

    b) 4-5-1 almost brought us our first European Cup. United, Chelsea, Liverpool and almost every other top European side long ago abandoned a pure 4-4-2.

    c) Diaby has certainly had too many chances in too many positions. But as for Rosicky, while he is somewhat inconsistent and perhaps over-rated by many, his injury should have seen him dropped down the pecking order NOT shipped out.

d)In fairness to Wenger, the likes of Denilson, Djourou, Song, Ramsey are all young and inconsistent so it can be a damned if you do damned if you don’t situation regarding their form.

I do think you are right regarding the attitude problem and/or a lack of focus. For instance, Lasagne Diarra should never have been allowed to leave mid-season to go to Pompey. Had he stayed we may have won something two seasons back and importantly would have had an immediate and top class replacement for Flamini.

As for what to do now, it’s hard to say. There simply aren’t any outstanding candidates for the DM role (Cana has been let go by Deschamps one of the great DMs ever to play, Melo looks like he would have been a poor partner for Cesc and cost too much, Veloso is wildly over-rated and fancies himself a male model/designer). We should have signed Anatoliy Tymoschuk when we got Arshavin. He has plenty of experience, captained the Zenit side that won the UEFA Cup, puts in top performances is similar to Flamini and just turned 30. Fee was reportedly around £12M.

At the moment, the best option seems to be Blaise Matuidi, but it’s hard to say that whether he can dislodge Denilson, Song and Diaby from the DM role.

If the rumors of Toure heading to City are true, Wenger and the Board are playing an extremely dangerous game, penny-wise and pound foolish. Potentially selling our CL spot…

Finally, knowing that Toure may depart; that Gallas will leave next summer; that Senderos is on his way and that Silvestre should be sent back to French football, why didn’t we go after Lucio?

He’s 31, is the Brazil cpt., has won the World Cup and Copa America not to mention several titles with Munich.

And the reports are Munich sold him to Inter Milan for €5m.

  24. dchall

Adebayor ” Arsenal needed 25 Mill more than me”
Yes to buy Huntelaar, a much better player with less attitude.

  25. Pat

Matt, thank you for admitting Song is a quality player. I do agree with that, but we need something better than Song. Not necessarily better, but a different style imo.

I don’t want an Alonso or Cana. Neither works hard enough. To get the best out of Cesc, imo, we need a hardworker that could interchange with him SOMETIMES. The partnership needs balance and I’m calling for Matuidi simply b/c he is the most similar player to Flamini out there. He’s quality as well. The fact that he’s left-footed also gives it a little bit of something.

We don’t want cesc wasting his time defending when all his strengths are attacking. Why give ourselves less options by giving Cesc more responsibility than he needs or can handle. That “water carrier” will benefit the team, especially Cesc.

Even if you don’t want to listen to me, check what the knowledgable United fans are saying about this guy. The French manc fans don’t want him anywhere near Arsenal.

He’s the best on the market right now, at least for our needs.

  26. raisonar

well i think,to win silverware we need two or three players from our present squad to step up,perform transcendentally.else buying new players wont help either.this is what wenger expects of his young players every season.but they couldn’t so we end up trophyless.

  27. Matt

Nah, I have watched only maybe 4-5 Saint-Etienne games last season, not by affinity but by coincidence (a good mate is nostalgic about “les verts”). From what I have seen he is not even yet at Song’s level. Actually except for one game he looked really poor, most of the time Saint-Etienne was totally dominated in midfield.

And you, have you watched any game with Matuidi? What makes you think he would fit us? Youtube?

  28. Rohan

david, well done mate. there was something frank about that post and its style that struck a chord with me. I agreed with everything you said and it was a thoroughly enjoyable read

  29. Pat

Overall, the whole squad needs to up their work rate. They should look at barca and take inspiration. They weren’t that good in 07/08, but Pep made them work their asses off when they don’t have the ball.

    Oh the difference it made

  30. Baxter Wall

**** The Baxter Wall Guest Post. ***

We have a shit team and we’ll win fuck all this season and probably lose 4th place to Citeh. Unless Wenger buys three new “ready now” players.

    The end.

  31. gunaglory

baxter: that is a rather hard comment
we dont have a shit team, arsenal play great football.
the problem is the football they play is great to watch, they need to play the game they are playing but need to want to win! not to keep the ball the whole game and do shit with it, but want to win the game!

  32. Pat

I watch Ligue 1 quite regularly Matt. Did you by any chance watch Matuidi once he came back from injury? He never looked 100% fit to me. They rushed him a bit and his performances dropped. He was by no means bad though. One could do so much with shit teammates. Season before last and up until his injury he was excellent.

  33. gunaglory

    how old is matuidi
i know nothing about matuidi chamakh(who will go to the cats) or any one of the players we are “signing” except for huntelaar!
in my opinion with a good dm, flamini back and huntelaar we will give a big challenge for the title

  34. raisonar

wenger didn’t buy a DM last season bcz he thought the responsibility will make denilson tougher.obviously wenger thinks denilson next best dm in the world. obviously he doubts that now, thats why he was going for melo. and he is not going to buy matudi, bcz he probably dont rate him that highly,so thats y he isn’t bought yet.

  35. Clockpocalypse

Cesc needs to play with a mobile, quick partner who can cover every blade of grass when needed. That description doesn’t fit Song whatsoever. I like Song, but he doesn’t have the quickness, speed and running ability necessary to partner Cesc, who is not very athletic and needs to have a water-carrier.

Denilson has better mobility than Song, but he’s hardly like Flamini, L. Diarra or Michael Essien. Not only is he not particularly fast or quick, but he’s far too lightweight to partner Cesc.

From what I’ve seen of Matuidi (4-5 matches) he can be inconsistent, but he does at least have the qualities necessary to partner Cesc…

Song needs to work alongside another DM like Melo or De Rossi, who can get around the pitch.

  36. Matt

I’m ok with the team as it is. We had an horrible season with the injuries but the team has progressed markedly from beginning to end. With Arshavin plus Rosicki and Eduardo back we could actually be competitive. While not perfect, Song is not that far off. Diaby probably knows this is his last season with us if he doesn’t perform, that should bring the best in him.
We’re definitely in better shape than last summer. Which is not the case for United, nor Liverpool if they lose Alonso or Masherano, nor Chelski with their aging team.

  37. gunaglory

you are right but what ive heard and what i have seen of melois that he wont do much better than denilson!
i dont know what wenger is thinking with always playin denilson the kids shite!
well he isnt shit but we have better, for me diaby could do better in dm

  38. Pat

According to reports, we actually bid for Matuidi last summer but got rejected. Now Commoli is in charge there and he’s good mates with Wenger so if Wenger wants, I think he’ll get him.

BUT, L’Equipe claim that no deals will be done until we come back from tour. They were referring to the Chamakh deal in particular.

I don’t see why though. Gazidis should be taking care of anything while the team is on tour

  39. Baxter Wall

Its amazing Barca and Real haven’t put in bids for Song. ffs if he was any good other teams would want him.

  40. Arindam@KOL

Fuck Flamini, he’s worse than Adebayor.

Atleast we made a huge profit on him.
Flamini knew all along he was leaving. He is a worser cunt than Ade.

  41. raisonar

we dont have any striker of level of rooney, torres or drogba, not a devender of quality and height of terry, ferdinand, vidic.not a holding midfielder even half close to alonso, essian, fletcher, carrick.
we will again suck this season,if wenger dont change his policy

  42. gooner-pak

    good write up david…bit touchy
baxter so FFS is not any one interested in hunterlar (chavs and mancs)

  43. Clockpocalypse

re: Matuidi, as a pundit Didier Deschamps rated Blaise Matuidi the best DM in Ligue 1 two seasons back. Ahead of Toulalan. Ahead of Lorik Cana (who he canned as soon as he took over l O’M).

Given that former praise it is surprising to see that Deschamps went for Stephane M’bia instead. Perhaps he wanted more size. Matuidi is 1.75 m (5 ft 9 in), while M’bia is 1.87 m (6 ft 1+1⁄2 in)…

  44. Matt

I barely watch any french ligue game. As I said he was consistently poor when I watched a few ASSE’s games last season. 4-5 games aren’t ebough to emit a definitive opinion but to me, he looks more like a regression than an improvement for or midfield.

  45. Pat

I agree we’re better than last summer, but look at our injury record. I want another CDM. Besides Song we have no one. Denilson is shit. I hope madrid get Xabi to weaken L’Pool. United are weaker on paper, but Rooney in a traditional 4-4-2 could amazing this year. Valencia was a good signing.

    Chelsea are favorites imo.

  46. Baxter Wall

Rubbish Arindam! Utter nonsense other teams did bit for him. teams were always linked to Arshavin. He even turned down the Spuds.

Is your keyboard upside down or something because that really is just utter crap you’ve just spouted there.

  47. David

    Thanks Dan, gooner-pak

Aridam I understand your pain…but we can all agree we treated Flamini like dungish shaite

  48. Baxter Wall

gooner-pak er…Spurs Stuttgart ring any bells?

Ding Ding we have a winner for the most stupid post i’ve ever read!!

  49. Arindam@KOL

Liverpool and the Chavs will duke it out this term. The Mancs will fare better than us , largely due to discipline and a better defence.
We will be slugging it out for 4th again , unless the 25 mil is spent on new players.

  50. raisonar

nobody dare write off united from winning, they are still a good team, owen will surely score 20+ goal this season

  51. Pat

How exactly is Flamini a cunt?? The board are a bunch of cunts for not offering him a deal sooner. They made him feel unimportant, much like the Tevez situation at United. Flamini made the right choice to reject the contract. He was offered shit compared to others.

  52. Arindam@KOL

raisonar , not if he is scoring with the nurses ; which he will.

Even a fully-fit Owen is a pale shadow of his former self. Infact he was so shite last term , that Shearer had to drop him.
Dont get so excited , yet.

  53. Pat

Actually, I don’t think its who we sign that’ll make the most difference.

I think it’s the mindset. We can’t have lazy cunts. Lets up the work rate and see some fire. You’d be surprised how much that can improve a team.

  54. Cartman

wait, its david’s post? nice one david! and here’s ur song:
    Why do birds suddenly appear
    Every time you are near?
Just like me, they long to be
    Close to you.

Why do stars fall down from the sky
    Every time you walk by?
Just like me, they long to be
    Close to you.

  55. Pat

“linked with Barca” according to some shady english newspapers. Nice source…

Okay then, why is no one ever linked with Rooney?

  56. gunaglory

arindam: what you have said about owen is right, but remember him with liverpool, he was great there
in my opinion when he is playin with good players he is doing good,
    IN england he does well
    just newcastle are absoloute crap!

what hs been said about flamini and the comparison to tevez is compleely right, he left because he felt un inportant just like tevez but imo were you are wrong is tevez tried to prove himsef when that story came out, i dont think flamini tried

  57. Matt

If both Alonso and Mascherano leave, Liverpool will find it very hard to reach a CL spot. If only one leaves but either Torres or Gerrard gets injured, the same.
Chelski have too many players on the wrong side of 30. Even without injuries it will be really hard for them to compete for the title up to the end.
As for ManU, they will certainly show their usual defensive discipline but it’s hard to believe Owen and Valencia will make them forget Ronaldo and Tevez. Nor will they score 30-40 goals in one season.

  58. Arindam@KOL

Pat , Flamini was shite before.
When he proved his worth , he was offered around 60k. What more could have been done ? The offer was made n Oct/Nov .
And the slimy cunt kept on saying till April that he wants to stay. Why not reject it outright ?
I ‘ll tell you why ? He knew he was leaving and was whoring himself to other clubs behind our backs.

He is a far worser CUNT than Ade.

  59. Matt

We never had such a big team, even if we had as many injuries as last year there would still be a lot of competition for starting spots. And I agree that will make a lot of difference.
Lazy is not the right word but there was some complacency from some players.

  60. David

Hleb is the c*nt of them all.

    Cartman much appreciated…

Dude, if you were that pathetic with her no wonder she left you…
    ————-
    brillant!

  61. raisonar

matt,if alonso and mascho leave, liverpool will have atleast 60m with them.what u think they gono do with it,they will become more stronger

  62. Baxter Wall

If AA and Song were up for Sale…who would be bidding for them?

    Barca, Real, Chelsea, Manu, Liverpool

    vs

    Fulham and Notts county.

Tells you all you need to know! SNAP!!

  63. Pat

Kaka didn’t go for a world record bid. It was just short of Zidane’s transfer. Then a certain Portuguese primadonna broke the record

  64. Baxter Wall

There are only three or four clubs in the world that could afford Kaka Arindam.

Everyone can afford the £15.20 it would take to lure Song.

  65. Matt

    Flamini hurt us twice:
    1) By leaving
    2) By letting us believe until the last minute that he would stay, Diarra had no hope of a starting position.

Anyway he obviously left for money, I doubt very much he would accept a consequent salary reduction to come back. Maybe next summer if he has to endure another season like the last one… that’s if no one has stepped up.

  66. Arindam@KOL

    And your point is ???

Barca had the Oleguers , Mancs have the Fletchers , O’ Sheas .
Its the whole team that matters.

AA vs Song is a silly/redundant/almost idiotic argument in terms of saleability , if you will.

  67. Cartman

its matt who said that, and it made me laugh and maybe bcoz i’m not like u! i date girls only to break my dad’s record!
but if u are upset about that, then i apologise!

  68. Arindam@KOL

Flamini is the reason behind our DM/CM dilemmas at present. Wenger trusted him – he stabbed him back. We also lost Diarra coz of the cunt.

    Fuckin bitch of a cunt.

  69. Baxter Wall

You introducted AA into the mix!

I just said Song is rubbish and they aren’t queueing up to sign him! You said you love him and want to have his babies and settle down in a semi detaced in Milton Keynes with him!

Now you’re trying to argue that you didn’t start the argument just because you’ve lost it!!

Well tough! You lost! In your face!!

*Baxter goes off on victory lap*

  70. Matt

Raisonar: Liverpool are broke. Even if they could spend all the money, there aren’t many players on the market that could make them forget either Alonso or Mascherano.

  71. Baxter Wall

    Can you fucking read Gooner-Pak?

    Did I say that? NO!

I said clubs want to buy Huntelaar (who was bought by Real Madrid by the way)! No-one wants to buy Song cause he’s shit and so are your debating skills!

Learn to read before starting on me Boy!

  72. Clockpocalypse

We need another striker as well. Given the priority at DM and our limited budget, we’d do well to bring Chamakh in before he heads off to Sunderland. So long as we keep his wages reasonable, it’s a low risk deal. He has a lot of upside, but if he fails Vela and Walcott can get more time upfront and he can be moved on recouping most of the fee.

He or another striker is needed as we need someone with the qualities Adebayor brought to the table two years ago. Out of the current group, only Bendtner is the sort of “spinal” striker. And while Chamakh needs to improve his finishing he has speed, aerial ability, quickness, size and movement off the ball.

  73. Arindam@KOL

Why not get Pogrebenyiak (sp?) . He will be a free agent in the winter , so should be cheap. Read a month back that he would love to come to us.

  74. David

We need another Stiker as well…but i wont be too shuffed if we dont get one…a DM is what we’ve been lacking for years!

  75. Pedro

Clockpocalypse and gunaglory, sorry for the delay… you are free to roam Le Grove!

Btw, there is a new post!

  76. gunaglory

clock….: everything u have said i completely agree on for the other striker for me is definitely huntelaar, i can see him and arsharvin working wonders together

  77. gooner-pak

i mean i am not song fan but this is teh stupidist logic given for players being superb i he’s linked with real and barca…utter rubbish

  78. Arindam@KOL

Add Matuidi (7-8 mil) and Hangeland (10mil) and we are all set.

But , wont happen. So , why bother ?

  79. Matt

I’d rather see more of Vela (who just scored the penalty that mattered most for Mexico) than Chamakh frankly. I was disappointed vela was not given more opportunities last year.

  80. Arindam@KOL

Huntelaar wont offer us too much more than Nik. Maybe better finishing , but Nik is better than him in most regards apart from composure , which should come.

Chamakh can offer a different dimension. He will be the Ade of old with a better first touch.

  81. gunaglory

    matt= genius
in the last few games of last season, vela did great
2 goals against regular starting 11 portsmouth

  82. gunaglory

arindam, for me bendy is only good in the air
    check huntelaars stats for ajax!
have u seen this guy play he is pure class imo he will be replacement for ade and more

  83. Arindam@KOL

    gunaglory , remember Kezman ?
NIk is quicker , has better vision , is more mobile than Huntelaar. He will be a very good striker , mark my words. Just not yet.

Huntelaar wont suit our style. We dont need a traditional striker like him ; due to our mobile game.

  84. Matt

The thing with Huntelaar is that he *could* be really good but no one knows for sure. 17 mils is a lot of money for this kind of bet.
There is no hurry, Madrid need to offload a lot of players now. Prices will go down.

Vela is a mouth-watering prospect. Golden feet, this kid.

  85. gunaglory

sorry i dnt remember him haha
bendy is good but for us all he has done is score headers
a striker should be able to shoot aswell tho
i havnt seen him scre enough of those
i think that the thing we NEED is a traditional striker becuase the last one we had was henry, invincibles!

  86. raisonar

i think we can do well without buying a striker, but point is huntelaar would not be available again for 18m.all would easily agree(of course except wenger) he is the best striker available in market under 20m price.and we cant miss him just bcz we dont have money or dont want to spend it or whatever.sell sendros, diaby, eboue

  87. gunaglory

correct but witht he 25 mill for ade we have the mney
it is stupid to sell 3 players just for one striker, we do have the money
wenger just doesnt want to spend but he says he will out bid sp*rs
i think he will honestly :)

Matt, he was great for ajax i think he scored in 07/08 33 goals in 33 appearences and for real he scored 8 in 20 but i think he still was settling in
for me he i the perfect buy for us

  88. jamie

Is anyone else sick of hearing about eduardo and rosicky already, i gaurantee you all they will play a handful of games between them this season… you would swear we just re-signed 2 of the best players on earth, really think about it what has either done since they signed for us apart from earn 60 grand a week sitting in the treatment room.Ask yourselves 1 simple question and answer it honestly..would eboue, song, denilson, diaby, silvestre, senderos, djourou or bendtner get in any of the other top 4 teams, top 4 cos we have to include city now too, answer:NO they would not!

  89. gunaglory

jaime u r right none of those would make them but they rnt great but they r good, they r still young most of them except diaby silvestre n eboue, but those 3 r actually better then the rest

the rest of that list isnt grat but wenger has made them better then they were

  90. gunaglory

another pro for huntelaar is that he plays with v persie in netherlands
    great partners for each other

  91. Matt

For one I really would like Big Phil to stay. He definitively deserves it. With Gallas not getting younger and Toure off to ACN, we could end up *very* glad to have him around. Much more than Silvestre anyway.

  92. Matt

ACN = Africa Cup of Nations
Senderos is a big guy. He was scorned for some frailty on set pieces but looking back, he was doing better in the air than our current first choice duo.

  93. gunaglory

o thanks, ye he is much stronger then those 2 isnt gallas suposed to be a left back?
sorry wont be commenting for a wile eating dinner (im in australia)

  94. Gooner

David – you clearly know very little about football. If you are so ignorant and short sighted to not see the importance and necesssity of the job Wenger is doing, then I would rather you supported a team which will guarantee immediate succcess with heavy spending and poor economic management, like Chelsea or Liverpool. Oh wait, they havent won a significant trophy between them (besides the FA cup – not that significant) in the last three years.

  95. SharkeySure

GunaGlory….Gallas a LB…?? Just cos he can fill in there, that don’t make it his position!!

Do you not know that being made to play LB is the main reason he left Chelski ??!!
