So Ade, if Milan were Beyoncé, what are City, Susan Boyle?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

So on the day we hear the tragic news that old boy John Hartson has cancer we also hear from the opposite end of the scale, greed.

First of all John, everyone here on Le Grove wish you well, it will be a tough fight but you’re a fighter and we are with you every step of the way, good luck mate, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Onto Ade, he whinged on that BBC interview with Garth Crooks that he can’t control what the papers say, so as he hasn’t come out and said the City rumours are untrue, we have to believe they are, if this is scotched on Arsenal.com I will be major league pissed off, as if it were untrue then this should have been bollocksed yesterday, but it wasn’t, so here goes.

So Ade, how does it feel you are every shite wannabe team’s second choice? Milan were slightly interested when Dzeko turned them down, but they never followed up on their interest. Then Man City, after being turned down by ‘has been’ Eto’o, have also turned to you, so you have been chased by two teams that wanted someone else first, have you no pride? And City aren’t even playing Champions league football!

Don’t get me wrong, I really hope this story is true, you were trouble at Monaco, you are trouble with Togo and if we keep you, you will disrupt this side no end, I would sooner you went and we bought in a world class defensive midfielder and a winger. To be honest I would swap you for that new Taylor made R9 Driver and a box of ProV1′s, but I don’t manage Arsenal, I only play football manager so that won’t happen.

Go with our blessing Ade, enjoy your money, I hope the City fans are more tolerant of your offsides than we are, but a word of advice, don’t headbutt Micah Richards, he might headbutt you back.

Arsene take the money and spend it, don’t use it for pay rises or to pay for Ivan’s new recruits, use it to strengthen the squad, but do it with class players, not more bargain basement troublemakers, make our team get excited, like they did when you signed Arshavin.

I was quite amused when Rednose was puzzled as to how the transfer market has gone ballistic, this is after he made £80 million by selling a player to Real Madrid, he is either mentally ill or quite stupid, I suspect somewhere in between after he signed happy crock Michael Owen.

Vieira to Spurs? How funny is that! Don’t hold your breath Harry, it won’t happen, once a Gooner, always a gooner.

So after yesterday’s chat about no more speculation, Adebayor has got us all buzzing, I have always rated his ability but hated his attitude and his inability to learn as well as his work rate.

Yesterdays picks as replacements were all midfield and wingers, almost none of you wanted Numchucks which does seem to be Wengers preferred choice, but many of you fancy the idea of Jeremy Toulalan, Matuidi, Cana or Inler with Hazard on the wing, an interesting debate and one that I believe will be decided before Saturday if Ade does indeed go.

Richards for Kolo and Ade plus £28mil anyone? I would! That way we could get in Nimbchucks, Matuidi, Hangeland and Hazard and still have change. The back line would be sorted then would it not, we could even sell Eboue as we would have ample cover?

I have to say though a forward line of Robinho, Adebayor and Tevez could do some damage, And finally how does it feel Shaun? You could have been a gooner once.

But Arsenal, not a penny less than £25mil and let’s hope him and Tevez enjoy playing in the Europa cup this season.

Have a great day Grovers, it could actually be an interesting one!

Well he can score all crackers for all i care. His record suggests he is average. He has never been a proper or prolific scorer. I would still rather we not get him.

  2. Stu

What do you mean luke? We are already top of the league. And i doubt a 4-2 would put is there anyway. There are always big wins on the opening day…bigger than a 2 goal win anyway.

  3. Stu

Some prick on goonertalk commented saying glorious Le Grove is known for being shit. He had us in with Arsenal spot and arsenal truth, dickhead! Clearly he is thick and has never been on here (or been allowed on here)

  4. Jimbo

The ONLY player we’ve got a really solid link to (from Arsene’s comments) out there at the moment is Chamakh. Hazard, Cana, Aguero and Matuidi are all pretty hopeless links.

  5. Samir

I hoping for either Dani Guiza or Pogrebnyak to be signed as replacements if the deal goes through….
    Also a DM(?) and maybe a winger(Afellay)……

  6. Mayank

I think it’s ’cause it’s the last thing the high and mighty united fans (and a few admirers on LG) would want. It’ll be a kick in the balls to all the idiots who’ve been saying that united is the greatest team n all that.

  7. Confidentgoner

Grovers, I defo see Chamkh coming. To be fair, he is a player that can be a Torres if only he can take a deep breath and finish. He is very good with his ovement, head, runs and dribbles. Perhaps AW knows he can with minimal effort turn him to Henry.. Now that does look like the way our AW will go!

  8. Stu

Samir, that was one goal. And a cross which makes it even worse because it was an accident. Hardly what i would call class. ANd how old is he? Pushing 30 is my giess.

  9. choy

ah forgot about guiza… la liga top scorer last year.

he would be a very good replacement for ade.

    He’s 28

  10. David

we better reinvest the lot of it….City will be a good team next year….I’d raid Madrid’s bench for Huntaleer, M. Diara and even that hapless Drenthe as a back up plan incase something happns to walcott or nasri…

It would be nice to have a good deep squad.

  11. MARK GOONER

    david id take huntelaar

he would cost less then ade, same age, very good goalscoring ratio and after he’s supposed failure he has a ponit to prove and would be up fo it
id take matuidi after reading about him he sounds very good, other than that id leave it

unless we sell eboue then id also get a back up right back

  12. ThaatArsenalGuy

lol david to be honest dirty south music just don’t do it for me. to be honest that video makes me ashamed to be a hip hop fan. TI or even wayne are brilliant examples of the south but this is straight up dudu in my eyes

  13. MARK GOONER

all dirtyb south is shit along with ti and lil wayne in fact all us hip hop is waste

chamkh goal return in last 6 years in 1in4 in the french lge not sure that is enough to get us excited

  14. ThaatArsenalGuy

like i said ti and wayne good EXAMPLES of the south , they have the odd decent song but i like to refer to most us as rap instead of hip hop. that being said there is a place in my music collection for the best “rappers” and another place for the best “hip hop artists” as long as u take them for what they are they can be quite good.

this chamak dude as long as he can stay onside then im happy. i also heard he has a lot of assists and creates space and time for other players but this is all from a french football fan on a forum so take with a pinch

  15. David

    lol

What you guys dont understand is that Hip hop is entertainment….its only entertainment…I think its garbage but its funny garbage!

Mark what you said about Ade makes sense….1 goal in 2 games striker…who needs that hmm?

And some say that Bendy is on the same level as Ade…forgetting that the LazyTogoan was scoring against Villareal and Bendy was scoring against Sheffield United.

Honestly to think people dont want Ade replaced and say bendy is the same level is so shocking it is disgusting….

  16. redbearer

Imo the comment Wenger made about Chamakh was planted as a clever decoy to deflect the press and other clubs away from his real targets… well I can only hope so because apart from this player being a target man I can not seriously see that he would be any better than the players we already have! Bendtner can head the ball and hold it up.. but what we really need is another natural goalscorer because we can not rely on the injury prone Eduardo all season… we need another quality back up striker and imo either Berg or Huntelaar could play alongside RVP, and Bendtner and Eduardo could combine well too.. one holds up the ball and the other finishes… SimpleS!

  17. MARK GOONER

david ive been saying the same all day and been getting accused of being too pesimistic

this year espcially we have to compete
i really thought we would strengthen the squad with experience and real proven quality

and if rumours are to be believed then we aint really doing that

  18. treze13

Hola guys, on the subject of music… Muse are the winners, on the subject of Ade, ABOUT FOOKING TIME YOU LAZY BASTARD!!!

How about Luis Fabiano as a replacement, not my ideal choice but a mate mentioned him and i wanted to know what you guys thought

  19. Honest Bill

There’s no way we will sign Huntelaar in my opinion. He’s far too expensive. I would like it if we did, but i doubt it very much

  20. redbearer

Treze13.. Reports suggest that Luis Fabiano is due to sign for AC Milan so he doesn’t seem to be an option for us!

  21. Honest Bill

gooner786, No idea but i would assume that his current one will be running out at some point during the period for which Man City wish to contract him for, so therefore they want to make sure he will be elligible for the whole period of any impending contract

  22. MARK GOONER

    fabiano going milan
stuttgart gave had 16.2 mil bid for huntelaar accepeted and madrid president confirmed the deal is close, if we match that bid he would jump at chance to join us
i think ade needs another permit due to the fact its every 4 years is up for renewal, its standard procedure and should be ok

  23. David

In which fantasy world are we saying that Bendtner would take over no no…

    Agreed Mark…

Proven finished Quality is what we need and what was indeed promised….

Huntaleer should be affordable because Madrid HAVE to sell…you are only allowed 25 players currently they have about 33??

And with that Strike force going forward there isnt room for Huntaleer? He came off the bench last season.

  24. Honest Bill

    MARK GOONER, 16.2M? really?

Fuck me i would love to get him, and that’s not massively out of Wenger’s price range.

It’s doubtful but hey we can dream.

  25. MARK GOONER

we should have got benzema at the start of the summer before madrid started going mental he would have joined and its only for a couple mil more then ade’s is

i think he will end up being the next big striker in world football

  26. treze13

oh, nevermind then… wow i cant really think of any quality strikers in our price range of lets assume £25m Villa, Aguero, Torres, Etoo etc. all are way out of that… Goran Pandev anyone?

  27. David

    luis Fabiano?

Not impressive finisher imo…he is the worst number 9 brazil have had in a long while…the game against the USA? And Against Italy? He shouldve had easy hatricks…but that being said…when he did miss a sitter he shut me up quick and replied my doubts…but id rather have someone who scores now and not need 800 chances to score we have plenty of those.

  28. David

Mark…lyon wouldve never sold Benzema for anything less than 30 mill….

At one point werent we after Ben Arfa? What happned to that?

  29. ManGoonian

Huntelaar on a seasons loan…. Thats the whispers that the voices in my head are chatting about….

Pipe down in there you bastards!!!

  30. ManGoonian

Yes, lets spunk £30 mill on an unproven 21 year old, we really dont have enough kids in the squad… just what we needed…

  31. Honest Bill

Hey Mangoonian, ask the voices if the portents are good for us signing Ribery in a straight swap for Eboue

  32. gooner786

MARK GOONER, I think that Benzema once said that he would only leave France for either Italy or Spain, the latter being his first choice.

  33. ManGoonian

    Honest Billybob;

They all say you must be effin crackers if you think thats likely!

Whats that mother? You want me to do what? …. To who?

  34. gazzap

not that bothered about what wenger does with strikers. if he buys fine, if he doesn’t fine, I will trust him. i dont like the look of chamakh but if he gets him fine, lets see what he can do – we know we have class in Arsh and Eduardo, RVP and Nik, so no worries.

surely far far bigger concerns still surround whether wenger is still trying for a DM. for me we simply cannot even hope to win the PL with the current DMs of Den and Song. Inler or Matuidi would be good, but we absolutely need someone good.

think we are OK at the back providing we are not losing players. Eboue and Toure still have question marks over them. senderos may go but I dont think we need to replace him if that happens – silvestre already is that man.

  35. TJ

    Evening all,

David, Too right, i’ve been saying we should have signed Huntelaar for years & even better now he’s got a point to prove!

Ade is a good player but we’ll win nothing with him, just far to wasteful for a top class team!

  36. Honest Bill

ManGoonian. Well at least your voices are quite discerning. Can they recommend a good player for us? Or don’t they have access to youtube?

  37. gooner786

According to London Evening Standard Chamakh has only got one more year left on his contract and has a 7M get out clause.

This has got Wenger written all over it.

  38. Honest Bill

Choy. Maybe city want him on a five year deal and his permit runs out before then, so they want to renew. I don’t know really.

  39. ManGoonian

I thought work permits have to be applied for every year, is that correct…

    yeah its true,
    Oh OK, thanks,
    dont mention it,
    alright I wont then,
oi, theres no need for that attitude… What attitude?
You know perfectly well what Im taking about…
    fuck off,
    no, you fuck off…

    uh oh…

  40. Stu

I’d have Huntelaar in a heartbeat. Stuttgart have only agreed a fee with Madrid. Apparently Huntelaar’s agent said nothing has been discussed with them.
Personally, if i was Huntelaar, i wouldnt be too pleases about my club selling me and not telling me first. Thats bad mojo.

  41. TorontoDan

Hello gents, long-time lurker here. Let me put my vote in for Berg > Chamakh… I can’t be bothered with the greaseball.

  42. Stu

Am i the only one who can see Toronto days comment at the end of the page? Because every comment coming in is before his even tho his is there ages. :???:

  43. ManGoonian

    Mark Gooner;

    Stu;

Didnt you see my hilarious comment a\bout TDan being an old racist and being a time traveller???

Come on man! Sort it out…

  44. MARK GOONER

    huntelaar stats ARE QUALITY
    TOP TOP DRAW

175 GOALS IN 265 GAMES FOR CLUB AND 13 FOR 21 FOR COUNTRY

  45. ManGoonian

    HB;

Thanks fella. Things got a bit out of hand then… managed to chill things out, we are all off down the pub now, its Jimmy’s round…

    No its not!

    Oh fuck…

  46. redbearer

Huntelaar would be a mint signing Stu… some say he lacks pace but you only require sharpness of mind to be a truly great goalscorer! Lineker always found space in the area to score loadsa goals and he wasn’t the fastest over 10 yards.. plus I think he’s more likely to fit in with us than he ever did with Madrid… look how he has been so discarded by them! It echoes the Bergkamp situation before he sign for us… he hardly had a great season with Inter before we snapped him up and then his performance just excelled.. and I think Wenger would inspire him to come to a club where he would be loved again but on a much bigger scale than before once he gets going!

  47. Honest Bill

redbearer. I agree mate. You don’t need blistering pace to be a great goalscorer. Especially since the majority of teams we play ‘park the bus’ Good positional sense and great finishing is enough, which he has in abundance

  48. MARK GOONER

there aint many if not any strikers in the world that ARE available and WITHIN our price range that can boast a goal scoring ratio like that albeit in holland

  49. redbearer

We just gotta gamble on Huntelaar.. it makes so much sense to me… a couple of clinical finishers will make all the difference next season.. I’m so sure that that is the reason why we failed to kill teams off in the last campaign… we always make the chances but on a lot of occasions we just failed to take them!

  50. Stu

But the problem is – who do we get rid of if we sign Huntelaar? Because even without Ade we still have plenty of forwards and they will all want (and deserve) games.

  51. Honest Bill

Stu, they can be gradually introduced in to the team. Many of them can play in different positions. Ade leaving has left another space, and one we need to fill with someone who can get goals

  52. Stu

I would have Huntelaar down as a world class player…maybe a level below simply because he isnt all action.

But his goal scoring ability means he would get at least 20+ a season. I think for Madrid he had 8 goals in 27 shots or something. (A posted it last night for anyone who is anal enough to go check).

But as i already said, if he came in i think someone else would have to leave. He is the world class player we need up front, just like we need a world class DM and defender.

  53. MARK GOONER

we will have bendtner huntelaar rvp eduardo

and vela, theo, aa can all play there if needed

i think that is a perfect amount

  54. Stu

Another problem with Huntelaar is that he and Eduardo are very similar. The difference being favoured foot and physique. Eddie is the smallie who finds spaces and Hunter being the giant who can score any kind of forwards goal.

Dare i say tho that Eduardo is more clinical but Huntelaar is definately the better goalscorer.

  55. ManGoonian

We are telling you, if you’ll effin listen, Huntelaar is comin on loan, we dont need to splash the cash on a striker.

We need the money for additions to other areas; the snooker table in the players lounge needs a new baize, the tiles in the dressing room need grouting and we have run out of McCoys crisps in the snack dispenser…

  56. MARK GOONER

bentdner not ready and not expecting to start most games, same for vela who can also play on left, rvp and aa are 2nd strikers leavin only dudu as the only striker who is in his prime

i think like u he will get 20 goals plus and that alone is reason to buy him

  57. Pedro

Mang, if they are those new spicy prawn ones… I’m backing the move!

If it is Huntelaar… leave him for Stuttgart… too slow, too lazy…

  58. MARK GOONER

stu that is exactly wat he is

pedro just talking bout huntelaar as he has been linked and as stuttgart have had and 16 mil bid accepted that would put him within budget and enough cash spare to get matuidi

    sounds far to perfect

probably end up being chamakh for half that amount who has a ratio of less then 1 in 4 compared to huntelaar’s amazing stats (see above 10.35 my post)

  59. redbearer

Yep a replacement is needed for Ade and Huntelaar fits the goalscoring mould which we’ve been looking for without the high maintainance shite which the TT would crack off every so often! Then we can bring in a DM and a right winger or even another centre back.. the money must be there if Wenger was reportedly willing to pay at least 15 mil on Melo… so you do the math, 25 mil for Ade ++ = 2 or 3 players more who want to play for our great club!

  60. ManGoonian

You bastard Stu… I hate you, dont talk to me, ever again… We are finished, you’re gonna have to move out… And DONT even think about taking the Take That CDs either…

    Pedro;

Huntelaar is too slow, I am not sure that has been mentioned yet..?

  61. Pedro

Mark, Chamone looks very fast, pretty good in the air and he has a physical presence.

    Finishing can be worked on…

Hunter hasn’t interested anyone who was looking for a striker… Milan, ManU, Man City… and Madrid are binning him after 6 months. Says a lot if you ask me…

  62. Stu

Well Manc, i didnt want to say this but i lied! Its not me, it IS you! You are too hormonal! Always getting emotional. And you can have your shite take that CDs…i have my ipod so fuk you!

  63. ManGoonian

Bendy will be better than Huntelaar…

(Heehee, that comment is bound to inflame a few of the idiots on here! I am soooo devilishly wicked. Its a good thing that by putting comments in brackets makes em invisible to everyone but me…Mwoohaaahaaahaahaahaa!)

  64. Stu

Spot on Manc, one thing you have gotten right. Bendtner will be better that Huntelaar…maybe he is better right now. But he will never be a better goalscorer imo.

  65. redbearer

Rubbish Huntelaar will adapt… too slow!>?

The fella scores loadsa goals more than most players have ever dream about and his goals per game ratio proves that.. and that doesn’t sound slow to me!!

  66. ManGoonian

    Redbearer;

I agree, Huntelaar IS rubbish. Well done fella

(Heeeheee, I really made that red fella look a right dumb ass then!)

  67. ManGoonian

I have never seen Chamakh play, but feel qualified enough to state he is the best striker in the world right now…

  68. treze13

rvp and huntelaar would be a nice pairing i think, only problem is that i want to see eduardo play in every game

  69. redbearer

ManGoon… v good :D Seriously though this Chamakh chap will also be off in January to play in the African Nations Cup so it doesn’t seem logically wise to me!

  70. Honest Bill

It’s all about positioning and intelligence. With players like Cesc and Arshavin picking you out with passes, you don’t need to be particularly fast. I think he would get a fair few goals. And that is what you want from a striker. We no longer get the opportunity to play quick counter attacking in most games so we need someone who can finish chances when he gets them. Huntelaar could be that man.

Although we haven’t been linked with him, or anyone for that matter. So at this point it is just wishful thinking.

Besides i think we should play Eboue up front.
