£40 million for Cesc? Now that sounds like a right load of bow locks to me.

So the Sun announced that Arsenal have slapped a £40 million price tag on Cesc Fabregas, the story goes that we have finally given in as the money is too tempting.

Arsenal mouthpiece and propaganda machine Arsenal.com have said nothing, not that that means much as they never do until the story has been out for a week! But until I hear from the horses mouth that Cesc is for sale, I will treat it with the usual disdain.

I really hate the way the media keep picking on us, if Arsenal had even the slightest clue about marketing and PR strategies they would have sorted this out years ago, obviously they don’t. Ivan if you need help, just ask, I do this for a living.

So this is for you, you nasty, seedy, lying hack reporters.

Cesc Fabregas was the original foundation stone in Arsene Wengers ‘Project Youth’ he would no more sell him than one of his limbs, period.

If John Terry is worth £45mil, Kaka £56mil and Ronaldo £80mil then why on earth would Arsenal set a price tag on the youngest of them all at £40mil?

I’m sorry but you really are a complete bunch of clueless, unintelligent, barely literate, wankers.

Enough said let’s move swiftly on to the delusional David O’Leary, he said that he would only consider being an assistant manager at Manchester United and Arsenal, really David? Who wouldn’t! Anyway you blotted your copy book when your disgusting Leeds side went out to maim us and you celebrated like you had won the world cup, all you did was to ruin our season and get Nigel Winterburn’s nose smashed in, I never want to see you in North London again, let alone Arsenal.

It’s funny because as a manager I always liked O’Leary, I’ve played golf a few times with his brother Pearce and he really is a nice guy, but after that day, he was finished in my eyes, finished I tell you.

The Sun rumour of yesterday that we talked about here on Le Grove, was that we may swap Ade for Flamini plus £20mil, I went with that story because I so, so wanted to believe it, I know it’s probably not true as it was of course a Sun story, but as Wenger has said Ade can go if he wants to, he really should get shot of him, it’s madness to keep a player you said that about.

Finally, and again another rumour, Wenger has now offered Senderos and money for Melo, I can’t help thinking there must be some truth in the Melo story because like the Nasri, Arshavin and Vermaelen rumours, this one won’t go away.

I guess Arsenal will have to publicly diss the Cesc story, so expect something there today, but we really should report Barca and Madrid to FIFA for all their bile, they are once again trying to unsettle an Arsenal player and that really is against the rules.

Finally, yesterday was a guest post on Le Grove and a well written one too, but from next weekend anyone guesting will be asked to stay by their post for the day so they can answer the inevitable questions, it was a great post though, so well done Finestcuts.

Have a great day Grovers, I expect lots of news very soon!

  13. Mayank says:

Why, oh why do you guys even bother with the shit the Sun comes out with? Like I said they should have different headlines for their ‘stories’ like ‘If Arsenal got 40m for Fabregas a friend think they should sell him’.

  14. Mayank says:

‘We’d like Arshavin to go to Barca, with him here Arsenal might win stuff’

  15. Geoff says:

If we didn’t have shit like that in the Sun, we’d have nothing to talk about Mayank.

Top stuff, again. Those 2 spanish clubs are just voyeurs of The Wenger Project.

  20. Mayank says:

True that, Geoff. Still let’s just pick a paper as Le Paper and concentrate only on their bullshit. Reading all the ‘stories’ from ‘insiders’ on Le Grove makes me think they’re real.

  21. goonermichael says:

was it that anthony kastrinakis again? He is a fucking dirty lying cunt

  22. Benny Boy says:

I really think that there is NO price tag big enough for Fab, because Wenger wouldn’t spend it just put it in the stadium fund, so what’s the point whatever the price it’ll just deplete the team…

  23. tonyadamsisgod says:

    Morning all!

So the paper boy delivers me the wrong paper today and I got The Mirror! I was waiting to see what load of bollocks they had to say but their anti-arsenal journo must of had Sunday off!

  24. Chipo says:

Funny how there are never rumours about Rooney or Gerrard going anywhere- the Sun looks after their own and does their very best to get all those nasty foreigners to move on! That said, I am loving the Terry to City stories!

Also, if I was Perez at Real, I would’ve made Gerrard a priority signing… liverpool would sell him for £60m given their debt.

  29. Convert says:

    Good post again Geoff
On the money re our clubs PR has it ever been good & why would we sell cesc for 40mil when we turned down 50 mil for TH14 several years ago.

  30. Mayank says:

Also there are no players left to buy, ask ManIOU.

  31. TheSKAGooner says:

I want to punch Anthony Kastrinakis, the Sun “reporter” who keeps coming up with these ridiculous Cesc rumors, right in the nut sack. Twice. Really hard. While wearing a steel glove.

  32. Geoff says:

Welcome aboard SKA you are now free to blog!

  33. DarrenC says:

The press just hate the way Arsenal keep their cards close to their chest with undisclosed fees and do not discuss their cashflow.

They want the ManU model of bid big, and the ManCity? Chav we have all the cash in the world model.

I can not understand why so many clubs do not have aclue about negotiation, why would you go to the table and bit when everyone knows you want the product and can pay top price.

The only model Wenger has is hardball,
1st do you want to [play for Arsenal? yes
2nd Do the club want to sell the player? yes
3rd Is there some stupid clud trying to throw money that ids not theirs at the player? no
Then we can begin negotiation, here is the offer we have a budget and if the [player truly wants to play for us ( Ashavin) then we have the upper hand.
OR WE WAIT AGAIN LIKE ASHAVIN UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE WHEN NO ONE ELSE IS AT THE TABLE.

You would go into to buy a house and say its on for £300,000, I will offer £250,000, but I can pay £300,000 as I have the money.

Also to assemble a team of big time charlies does not work or gel as a team. The Chavs had Terry, Lampard etc as their spine and add big timers. That is why Man City want Terry now at all costs( No spine).

This week has proved with all the resigns and commitment from young players, that we have players who want to play for Arsenal and each other.

This is a big year for Arsenal, with Man U losing Ronaldos and Tevez. if the Chavs lost Terry as well then roll on the good times.

  34. Convert says:

ManIOU ……. Brill Mayank have to use that one

  35. Mayank says:

One more thing about Fab, he’s Arsenal’s most marketable player so the transfer fee will also take that into consideration. In India only Fabregas 4 kits are available at nike, with the possibility of Arsha this year.

  36. Mayank says:

Feel free convert, i stole it off someone too :)

  37. gooner-pak says:

geoff ade/flamini/milan story was in mirror…but bith these – sun and mirror – are same rubbish papers i think

  38. tonyadamsisgod says:

Guys – It is logical to understand why we get picked on more than Rooney at United or Gerrard at Liverpool. Our club and the players are far more unsecure and the stories arise because:

1 – We have NO money when compared to the ‘big 4′ and are seen as a selling club, which we are.

2 – We haven’t won a trophy for over 4 years and players such as fabregas and RvP want exactly that – trophies!!

3 – As Geoff has pointed out on numerous occasions, we never ever complain aginst the tapping up of our players by other clubs, usually Spanish ones. If we dont complain then why wouldn’t Barca or Madrid try to unsettle a player in an attempt to get their man??

All of these things make us a vulnertable club and in turn this means that most people are likely to take transfer gossip concerning Arsenal players more seriously than that of United, Chelsea or Liverpool’s star players!

  39. ooogooner says:

only £40mill i assume its £ and not euros?.I would think more of the story if Arsenal had slapped a tag of £85mill but only £40mill……more anti arsenal shite stories

  40. Mayank says:

TAIG – it was going on even when we were invincible with Viera and Henry.

  41. Mayank says:

And i think the reason we don’t complain is the same reason you wouldn’t tell on a bully in school, no one wants a squealer tag. Also we might have to do business with them later on. The best tonic for this is to do the same to their players, but we’re far too nice for that.

  42. JD says:

Any truth in the Naldo rumours, he seems like decent player

  43. Chipo says:

I want to congratulate Gazidis (and maybe wenger a little bit) actually.
He got Arshavin, he got Vermaelen. Then, while the other transfers were stalling, he signed:

    Ramsey on Wednesday
    Wilshere on Thursday
    Gibbs on Friday

And RvP is rumoured to have signed. I guess a.com will announce it today.

So well done Ivan, keep it up!

Sell Ade, swap Eboué for Melo and job’s a goodun

  44. Bab says:

Sell him; He’s not worth that money

  45. Arsenal Tom says:

morning all… its all gonna kick off this week with players getting back from holiday, bring on the DM

  46. Benny Boy says:

Geoff I really agree with you at the worthlessness of contracts at the moment, not just with Arsenal… I don’t understand Melo: signs a new contract extension but still seems to be available and then I hear today that the Mancs are lining up a bid for Yaya, he just signed a contract extension, errr don’t get it!

  47. Benny Boy says:

what do clubs have to do to let everyone else know that the player is going no where? Lock them up!

  48. Arsenal Tom says:

Chipo… when you look at it like that its not a bad summer… we only look like loosing players we want to!

add theo to that list of keepers as well and get a new DM by friday and anyone else would be a luxery/direct replacement

  49. gooner-pak says:

what about this guy history as player David O’Leary

  50. Geoff says:

What’s the point in getting all these players to sign long term contracts when the minute they want out, we let them go.

The only person that benefits from a new contract is the player because he gets a massive pay rise, that’s not clever, anyone can do that.

  51. tonyadamsisgod says:

Mayank – It happened with Theirry and Paddy for different reasons……they were truly outstanding, world class players and there was genuine interest always in those two so the media was reporting facts rather than rumours. Cesc is no way near the level of those two yet and I dont think there will be any offers for him this season…..

  52. Mayank says:

Myles Palmer is talking out of his ass again.

  53. gazzap says:

you can be sure arsnal will be thinking, how much will Cesc be worth in one or two years time? will he still be worth £40m or not. they will think, what if he gets injured, or what if we win the title. what will that do to his value. I think the board would urge wenger to accept anything in excess of £40m.

To be honest, I would take an Ade flam swap with NO cash!! just to get Flam back on a long term deal and get rid of the useless twat Ade would be enough. any cash would be a bonus.

ANR reckons we cant do ANYTHING until a player leaves. wenger has next to no money left. £13m to begin with- buys Vermalen and uses the rest to play RVP, Theo, wilshere, Ramsey etc. Unless Ade goes, we dont have any more money.

  54. Mayank says:

TAIG my point is that Lamps, Gerrard, Rooney are also world class but there’s no crap made up about them wanting to move away. The only pure rumours we hear about are regarding us, the rest have some truth behind them like the Ronaldo ones because of his statements. Its xenophobia pure and simple.

  55. Big Dave says:

These papers are a bunch of shite, never beleive them even if they actully link a player coming to us, i don’t take much interest from it.

More important can we attract top players to the club anymore?

  56. Benny Boy says:

to be honest this whole transfer window is pissing me off… seems to be the crappest rumours ever flying around completely baseless…. real are just chucking money about like a spoilt rich kid in asweet shop “i want that one!”…. the only plus side is watching the Manc’s getting totally shafted and dissed by any decent player…. I say let’s end it here take what we have I still like our chances next year with the current squad as Arsene says one player does not a whole team make!

  57. Chipo says:

    Why be negative Geoff?

Contracts may not matter as much as they used to with the star players, but with players like Ramsey, Wilshere and Gibbs (arguably our 3 best young players) it is important to keep them on long contracts otherwise we lose them for free.

I completely see your point re: players like Melo who sign a year ext. and then are still available.

Fact is, contracts are no longer about protecting the plater. They are about protecting the club, so if they want to sell the asset, they get a fair price.

  58. Chipo says:

    *player not plater

  59. tonyadamsisgod says:

Mayank – Every situation is different. Right now we have these stories because the whole world knows we are short on cash, they know our players want trophies that we cant give them and that they can get away with tapping them up.

You say there was truth in Ronaldo’s move because of his comments….well just a few days ago Cesc said he would move to Spain for the opposite of why Ronaldo was moving – to win trophies rather than he has won all he can here. He then denied it and and again pledged his future to Arsenal but how many times did Ronaldo pledge his future to United????

  60. goonerdave says:

enough of all the bollocks!!!!!!!!!!!!! if any player wants to leave the club then let them go. £40 mil for cesc, £30 mil for ade, what it all comes down to is do they want to play for the club or not, if they don’t get rid and buy someone how does!!!! every summer this happens and i for one am getting very pissed off with the whole saga, it all comes down to one thing it is the fans who work thier nuts off day in day out to support Arsenal Football Club and see there heros play on matchday’s. So give us all a break and go and pick on somebody else like Man Utd or Man City. Just one last question i would like to ask

Is any footballer worth the money that teams pay for them?

Answer: NO if you got a job were you were on £120’000 a week would expect to sleep, have a holiday, or just kick a ball around for 2 hours a day go home and shag your model girlfriend then piss it all against the wall at night. Live in the real world it is us fan’s who foot the bill for that.

  61. gooner-pak says:

i haven’t seen a player claiming to jon otehr 3 of big four in past 2-3 years whereas palyer like villa last year and benzema (prefering emirates over OT) expressed their liking to play for us….
apart from players expressing their feeling for barca and real arsenal are only one….
OR IT CAN BE ONLY ME WHO DIDNT READ ANY INTERVIEW BY ANY CHUM DISPLAYING HIS LIKING FOR OTHER THREE

  62. tonyadamsisgod says:

It all gives weight to the journo rumours regardless of whether its the truth or not.

  63. Benny Boy says:

I think top players like the idea of playing sexy football at Arsenal but the reality of no cups in four years is a real mood killer!

  64. Geoff says:

Chipo Cesc has a contract until 2016, so why bother getting him to sign another, we could wait until 2015, that’s 6 years away.

Ramsey had a 4 year contract as did Wilshere.

Gazzap, who says we only started with £13mil, Arsenal didn’t and if we have to sell, why the fuck don’t we???

Ade, Eboue, Senderos, Silvestre, Kolo, Gallas, Song fuck pick 4 from that lot we’d get a few bob, I would.

Why are we holding onto Kolo, Senderos, Eboue and Ade when all of them have said they want out at some point, their wages must be colossal.

  65. dennisdamenace says:

    G’day.

I’m a sub-contracted IT Consultant, and the contract i sign between myself and the site i work at isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. They have changed it twice since i renewed, to their benefit, also they can give me four weeks notice, but i can’t reciprocate.

  66. Mayank says:

First of all the quotes themself were almost like aritists interpretations of what he said in spanish, the questions are loaded and the answers are given out of context. Heck cesc even told the little barca kids he won’t be moving there. The truth is if you want to unsettle a player by nitpicking everything he says you’ll probably succeed.

  67. Benny Boy says:

I disagree Geoff I think we need to keep most of those players you mentioned why? because we need to have a large squad which has been our undoing in recent seasons …. losing four experienced players to bring in one maybe two needed players is not the move we need

  68. tonyadamsisgod says:

    Geoff – True that!

    Sender-dros – £5m
Kolo – £7m (£10m if its Man City)
    Eboue – £5m
    Silvestre – £2m
    Song – £5m
    Diaby – £6m

Im not saying we should sell all of these players for the sake of it but if needed there is a lot of transfer money available there!

  69. dennisdamenace says:

What the club should do is invite the prick ‘journalist’ to a live televised press conference to state his case and if he can’t then he should be sued, be suspended or maybe just given over to us Gooners for a sound beating!

  70. Mayank says:

Silvestre 2m? we got him for 750k…

  71. Geoff says:

    You disagree Benny?……

  72. Benny Boy says:

I asked a question the other day about who would you rather see coming off the bench Vela, Bendy or ade if we really needed a goal everyone said vela or bendy… i’m sorry but that is bloody minded Ade is much more likely to stick one in or cause probs to the defence!

  73. Geoff says:

    With me?…….

  74. Benny Boy says:

I do Geoffy! ….is that alright??

  75. tonyadamsisgod says:

Mayank – I dont disagree. If the world knows this then people will think its more likely that Cesc could leave and hence all of the tabloid bullshit. I know its not true, but the papers choose the stories that are most likely to happen – Cesc to Barca is more likely then Lampard to Madrid so they continue to run with that.

Like I said, he wont go and we just have to filter out this bullshit that follows us around.

  76. Duke says:

Morning, I just want that Ade for 20 + Flam to be true, then invest that money in who ever you want, and I will be a happy man.

  77. gazzap says:

I would say only Senderos and Ade are definitely up for sale by wenger.
MAYBE Kolo OR Gallas but only if the price is right. same goes for Eboue really – sell if we get something decent for it eg a good swap/lots of cash.

I just dont think he would sell our only genuine DM, Song, while Sivlestre is not worth any money even if he was sold.

I am sure Senderos will go, but I reckon he will fetch £5m tops. No one wants Ade. he has been for sale for weeks and no one has bid, so what can wenger do about that?

Of course, I cant possibly know we only had £13m to spend, but that figure was all over the press at the start of the summer. Quite often these things are leaked on purpose and until wenger spends money, I will have to beleive those reports to be true.

  78. tonyadamsisgod says:

Mayank – That was compensation. Utd effectively released him. Now he is under contract we can put a price on his head and some mug side like Wigan would probably have him!

  79. Geoff says:

Benny our feeder blogs say that no on is allowed to disagree with me, I was a bit shocked that’s all!

  80. Geoff says:

That’s what I mean Gazzap, Arsenal should at least give us a clue so we can hope!

  81. Benny Boy says:

I think it’s so ridiculous when gooners fans get their calculators out and work out how much we could sell him and him for and that would leave us this much for him and him!… it doesn’t bloody work like that! The money made for sales doesn’t automatically drop into an account called transfer fund… just because we sell doesn’t mean everything we make will go out agin in the next week!

  82. Mayank says:

I once disagreed with Geoff he threatened to burn my house down and i woke up with a horses decapitated head under my sheets. True story.

  83. kelsey says:

All or most of these transfer rumours originally appear from the following heirachy of sports tabloids.

    Birmingham Mail
    Sunderland Echo
    Belfast Daily Telegrapg
    Northampton Evening Echo
    Hartlepool Mail
    Blackpool Gazette etc.

  84. tonyadamsisgod says:

Benny – If that is not the case then something is very wrong. You are saying that we rely on sales to sustain oursleves. If we do that is wrong. If we dont sell anyone do we collapse? I would guess not. We use money from gates, sponsorship, tv deals and merchandise to sustain our club as they are a solid foundation with consistent figures. Selling players is not. If we sell a player we should be able to use most, if not all of that to buy new players.

  85. Geoff says:

Mayank ha, ha, so that’s where my horses head went!

  86. Benny Boy says:

sorry Geoff I’m self flagellating myself at my terrible faux pa!

  87. tonyadamsisgod says:

    Charlie….what a hero!!

  88. Geoff says:

Benny it’s quite funny to hear what the stalker sites say about me, the whole point of a blog is to share differing views.

  89. Benny Boy says:

Tony… I agree with you, I’m not condoning it or saying it’s a good thing… I’m also not saying that we would collapse if we didn’t sell all I mean is that Wenger buys when he wants to buy end of… he has money to spend right now, he just chooses not to use it… remember a couple of season’s back when he splashed the cash in january on Ade, etc… no one thought he had anything… the point is that if he sells he won’t go straight out and spend, he’ll buy when he’s good and ready I just thinks it dumb to work out how much we’d have if we sold such and such..

  90. Benny Boy says:

Cheers Geoff! I’ll try to ‘rile-up’ as much as I can!

  91. Mayank says:

I heard it through the grapevine, not much longer would you be mine.
Oo, I heard it through the grapevine, and Im just about to lose my mind.

  92. Benny Boy says:

Ok I’m off taking the missus to the beach, have a good ‘un!

  93. KM in WALES says:

good morning y’all.i agree with Mayank’s first comment: we dnt need to repeat what the SUN said – its nothing new nor is it earth shattering. GEOFF/PEDRO i love this site (more like addicted) but we need to stay away frm OBVIOUS red herrings like the SUN story. Btw it seems that ZHIRKOV has signed for CHELSEA-he is class which in turn strengthens the Chavs.

  94. Mayank says:

Fuck it’s a slow day. I think i’ll take off too.

  95. Stevie says:

Melo had an agreement the contract he signed last year that allowed the club to increase the term of his contract this year and set a buy-out clause. This allowed the player to pick up a salary increase and the club could set a higher buy out fee if he had a good first season (which he did) Clever deal on the part of the club……. If a club bids 25 euro Melo can leave

  96. tonyadamsisgod says:

Benny – Agreed. I know a sale doesn’t mean a buy, especially at The Emirates but right now we do still lack the key players we need to challenge for the EPL and if the only way we can get them is to sell players then we have the personnel to make it happen.

BUT, trying to get the players in without selling should be the priority, Apart form Ade. He’s a cock.

  97. Pedro says:

Benny, when you clear a substantial profit each year… I don’t think it is silly to assume that a club like Arsenal should be able to spend what the recoup in transfer dealings.

  98. Jay20h says:

Chesea have that Zhirkov dude – If we have Melo this season We can do the unthinkable and win something!

  99. KM in WALES says:

also FABREGAS to Barca is getting tedious.until i see fab wearing a barca kit i won’t pay attention to all this bull.

  100. KM in WALES says:

jay – jerkov is a classy player playing for a bunch of chavs

  101. Arsenal Tom says:

looks like fiorentina are happy for him to go they just want the best deal… fair enough, he’d come to if we sort the price out h e just doesnt wanna seem like a prick to the fans and media

  102. Pedro says:

    Blog fart?

  103. dennisdamenace says:

I gotta be honest and say, even though it was a red top rag from yesterday, that the Ade to AC Milan for £20m plus Flamini got me quite moist!

  104. tonyadamsisgod says:

This Melo rumour does seem to hold the most weight at the moment. It has all of the right ingredients – We need him, ex-players are urging him to join us, he’s kinda making the right sounds about it being down to Fiorentina. I think it will happen. But in the mean time I’d arther explore a different avenue….

Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana! Cana!

  105. Benny Boy says:

Pedro…. but don’t you think it’s stupid to still think that way after see it not happen like that for the last ten years at the club?

  106. tonyadamsisgod says:

DDM – I even think Flamini would be willing to lick his wounds considering that he will be on more money now. It would just feel like AC was a loan move really…..

  107. dennisdamenace says:

Or, as the Romans might’ve said, Blogus Fartus!

  108. Ryan L says:

On a positive note – atleast the comments that have been made by Fiorentina (was it on their official website ?), do suggest 2 things:

    1) We do atleast have the money to make a bid.

    2) We are definitely after a midfielder.

  109. dennisdamenace says:

TAIG – My gut feeling is that the Ade to Milan ‘story’ is nothing more than Andrex fodder. However, the Melo story(s) have more substance for me, even though it may well be a ploy by Fiorentina to gee up Juve. But, would Fiorentine really wanna sell such a high profile player to their hated rivals??

    I’m so confused 8O

  110. Pedro says:

No, I don’t think so… I think fans have even more right to believe that after ten years of penny pinching… there should be a substantial pot to spend from.

Which… if this year is anything to go by… we do!

After all, it appears last years spending was more influenced by Wenger’s choice… opposed to financial constraints.

  111. tonyadamsisgod says:

Ryan – Lets hope so. After all, I think Wenger understands the inportance of having a good defensive midfield considering we have had the likes of Parlour, Vieira, Gilberto, Petit, Flamini, Diarra etc. I think he just took a chance last year and it failed. Hopefully he is about to give us the best remedy in the form of a somewhat proven and ready DM.

Also I think too much has been made of his 17 yellows and 3 reds last year. I was one of the people that said that was worrying but after considering it more, a player like Walcott could pick up those cards in Serie A whwre players dive for a living!!

  112. tonyadamsisgod says:

DDM – Yeah like I said, this Melo rumour holds the most weight especially when Gilberto has had his say in it. The swap deal wouldn’t surprise me though so right now I guess we should be positive that we have potentially 2 good deals that could be pulled off. Surely one of them has to come to fruition!?

  113. Chipo says:

What do we think of this chant? (to Rihanna – umbrella)

  118. desmoinesgunner says:

    morning all.

I agree that the Melo deal has some legs but the Ade deal is a non started. I seem to remember that he was the main target if the dzenko deal fell through (which it did) but since then narry a peep.

For those who think we are being hard on TT, consider that nobody wants him. Hmmm…could it be his attitude? His laziness? His in ability to count to two to be able to understand the offside rule? Milan will not pay 20 million for him. We would be lucky to get Flamini + 1 pound.

Speaking of Flamini – he was a money grubbing whore as was so often mentioned before his “moving on”. Do I think he can do a job for us? Yes and may even be the title winning missing link. Do I want him back? Not sure. He was a one-season wonder but we never got to see what he would have done if he had gotten a new contract. With Ade we saw the results – piss poor. So I’d welcome him back but with reservations.

Oh, and someone keeps asking who we would rather have come off the bench ade or bendy. Bendy by a Scandinavian country mile (which would be longer than a regular mile because it would be all up hill and down dale).

  119. desmoinesgunner says:

chipo – would love to sing that but Vela never seems to get on the park much to my dismay!

  120. Duke says:

    taig, that would be RVP

  121. Rohan says:

i really think bendtner is going to havea blinder of a season next year..imo him and vela will be our future frontmen…

  122. desmoinesgunner says:

Rohan – agree especially if Bendy shows the commitment he did in the second half of the season. Really hope Eddie can do the business as well – that boy has some class

  123. desmoinesgunner says:

Fuck me – where is everyone? I’m up at 5 to do some work and there’s nobody on!! No I have to actually do some work – you selfish bastards!! lol

    LOL!!!

  128. gazzap says:

no one will sign Ade for £20m or anything like that because he is simply not worth it. He wont go to a bigger club because he is already at a bigger club than he really deserves to be at. wenger should never have given him a long term 80k contract. we are stuck with him now.

  129. desmoinesgunner says:

    @ SUGA3 – lol!

  130. SharkeySure says:

    Hey Suga.

Re Friday….thought about that gag on the way home.

I concludfed that you were totally right. In the past I have changed the wording in jokes like that, just to show that they can still be funny. Ie insertt ‘Chavs’ for ‘Eastern Europeans’

I pasted that one in without thinking about it…so thanks for the ‘pull up’.

  131. desmoinesgunner says:

just saw the mexican player ratings for the Gold Cup – Vela got a 3/10 because he only played 11 mins and got injured…anyone know the extent of the injury?? Not good news.

  132. desmoinesgunner says:

this is the comment on the injury in the story:

The 20-year-old Vela, also a member of English club Arsenal, was taken by ambulance to a hospital for X-rays as a precaution following a collision and foul in the fourth minute that caused him to fall awkwardly. He briefly went to the sideline, then returned to the game before leaving for good a few minutes later.

“When he fell, he got his foot stuck and got a twinge in his leg,” Aguirre said. “We hope it’s only a scare. We hope we confirm there’s nothing broken and he can continue with us. If it’s a worst-case scenario, we’ll tell you guys who we’re bringing to replace him.”

  133. Ali says:

  135. Rohan says:

why the fuck are we so lucky with our injuries…

  136. desmoinesgunner says:

    cheers AT.

Saw this from the Wenger man…think he wants one more title and the CL before he calls it a day. Not sure if he will have the energy / patience to build again…

Wenger, whose side finished fourth last term, reaching both the semi-finals of the FA Cup and Champions League, added: “People always expect more than the previous season, but I already put the pressure on myself.”

While harbouring no intention of leaving his post just yet, Wenger, who turns 60 in October, accepts he cannot go on forever.

“I am near the end of my career, I won’t be coach for another 10 years,” reflected Wenger, who fended off some stern criticism from sections of the Gunners fans last season.

“I have been at the club for 12 years and I do not want to go on even one year too much.”

  147. Rohan says:

i recknon we could get 8mil for diaby..that would be excellent business imo..

  149. Cartman says:

definition of the word ‘gooner’ by a spud fan:

A Fan of the peoples champions. The winners of more League Titles than the rest of London put together. They don’t need the money or the Russian mafia to bring success, they just ooze it.

in a sentence: The gooners have won the league yet again.

  150. Cartman says:

8m for diaby?? who wud buy a crock for 8m, mourinho?

  151. Cartman says:

gooner-pak, telegraph is still a decent newspaper imo, at least compared to the other ones!

  152. wardo says:

    MOrning all…

Great post Geoff…..really hits the nail on the head.

I have a friend who is a chelsea fan and he said “if the right money was offered for Lamps, Terry, Alex, Anelka, Cashley, Cheque, and J Cole….the club would seriously consider selling them”

The above is a direct quote from my mate. Honestly……he has absolutely nothing to do with Chelsea and does not know any inside information BUT, that is what he said……..and I think, his opinion carries about as much weight as the Sun’s Journo’s friends comments about Cesc. I hope my mates quotes appear in tomorrow sun I really do…..

Ha ha. What a load of crap…….an inside source my fcuking ass. Cnuts the lot of them !!

  153. Cartman says:

    hatrick :D

  154. gazzap says:

would sell diaby for £5m. I dont think we need him. he is surplus to requirements. every time he plays it means Ramsey cant. also wenger uses him too much on the left wing. if we sell him wenger cant be tempted to make such an atrocious decision. it wont happen. diaby has been talking about really giving a good shot with Arsenal next season. if he cant nail down a spot next season then he will leave next summer IMO.

  155. Rohan says:

yea i remember moaninho was interested in him last year and i’m guessing a french team like marseille lyon or bordeaux will always be tempted

  156. Cartman says:

    definition of spurs:
Probably the most embarrassing football team ever to come out of London, Constantly living in their neighbours shadows. They were once a mediocre team, now they are just a joke team that no one really worries about any more.

Bentley:Did you see the Spurs score?

    Harry:No? Who are they?

  157. desmoinesgunner says:

I always thought Diaby had something but couldn’t put it all together with the injuries and playing on the LW. I appreciate his extra work this summer so I would like to give him one more season. Don’t like that he keeps Ramsey out of the team but some strength in depth is not bad.

  158. wardo says:

yeah Rohan……to this day, it is hard to purchase a copy of the “The Sun” newspaper in Liverpool and it now over 20 years since the tradegy.

They basically, printed a headline a couple of days after the tradegy saying that some scousers involved in the crush we actually stealing wallets and cash out of injured/dead victims of the incident.

Needdless to say, there was no proff of this occuring.

….and its clear that this particular newspaper will say anything to sell newspapers.

I also think the sun has a lot of blood on thier hands for the death of Princess Di……they basically pushed up the value of pictures of the princess to the extent that the number of paps chasing her trippled.

Fiorentina eye Eboue & Melo swap

Fiorentina want Eboue (right) if they are to sell Melo to Arsenal
Arsenal will have to offer full-back Emmanuel Eboue as part of any deal to sign Fiorentina midfielder Felipe Melo, according to the Italian club.

Brazilian Melo, 25, has signed a one-year contract extension with Fiorentina that includes a £21m release clause.

“Arsenal is the only club to have come close to the sum established by the release clause,” read a club statement.

“Fiorentina in turn proposed to Arsenal a reduction in the amount by including right-back Emmanuel Eboue.”

Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino also denied reports in Italy that Melo had signed for Juventus.

Melo, who arrived at the Viola for £7m from Spanish side Almeria last summer, is a target for Gunners manager Arsene Wenger after the player had a starring role for his country in their Confederations Cup triumph this summer.

    606: DEBATE
Melo is much better and we already have Sagna, hope this deal happens

    anonymous7egend
After partnering former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva throughout the tournament it appears the north London club would like Melo to play alongside Spanish star Cesc Fabregas at the Emirates Stadium.

Melo, who is contracted to Fiorentina until 2013, has a tough-tackling style that resulted in him picking up 17 yellow and three red cards in Serie A last season.

Eboue had looked like a fine prospect when he broke on to the Arsenal scene in 2006 after arriving from Beveren in January 2005 but the Ivory Coast international’s career has faltered recently.

The 26-year-old conceded in June that he was unhappy about his lack of regular first-team action at Arsenal.

Plus, in December 2008 he was booed by the Gunners fans after coming off the bench against Wigan and was then himself substituted.

Wenger has already started strengthening his squad this summer, with the signing of Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen from Ajax in a deal worth up to £10m, and he admitted he has more money to invest.

However, whether Wenger, who is notoriously shrewd in the transfer market, wishes to splash out on the Brazilian and lose Eboue remains to be seen.

  160. Rohan says:

    cheers wardo, thanks

  161. wardo says:

    morning Dennis…hows you mate ??

I think Diaby is a skillful player that needs to find his place in our team.

He was really coming along before he got injured against Sunderland (i think) but that was years ago…..since coming back from that injury, he has really reached the level he was at or is improving….

I agree tho, I would like to see him given another season to prove his worth !! Hope he actually makes it at Arsenal

  162. Cartman says:

    is vela’s injury serious?

  163. Rohan says:

bloody hell 17 yellow cards and 3 red cards…
    i like… :P

  164. desmoinesgunner says:

Cartman – no break and might play again in the tournament…hope not

  165. Cartman says:

    phew!

  166. Pedro says:

    Morning all! It’s quiet today!

The bastards at my work keep making me work for my wedge… it’s a fucking liberty I tells ya!

  167. Arsenal Tom says:

Rohan i agree… in PL that would probably be halved but not having as many cheating bastards as they do over there, its a nice stat though!!

  168. SUGA3 says:

    busy, busy, busy…

  169. desmoinesgunner says:

I see that Citey may be in for 31 yo Lucio. Not sure how he will do in the PL but for 7 million euros I would rather have gone for him that fish head.

  170. Cartman says:

i suggest that our players learn a war HAKA! maybe the bolton, blackburn…. cunts might be intimidated!

  171. dennisdamenace says:

    Ahem!

  172. ArsenalKenya says:

Wenger will only allow Eboue to leave because Vermaeleen can still play in Sagna’s position.

Remember we have our French winger cum leftback back from Portsmouth to replace Eboue and can also play in Clichy’s position.

If Adebayor leaves then Wenger may decide on Dzeko or Chamakh with Dzeko being the favourite since the later will be playing in African Cup of Nations for Morocco.

I’M DAMN SURE WENGER IS GETTING MELO WITH CASH PLUS EBOUE….

  173. Rohan says:

so dzeko is definitely staying at wolfsburg ?? pity i would love to ahve him..

  174. dennisdamenace says:

    Wardo – i’m good, yourself?

  175. Arsenal Tom says:

    dzeko? he’s staying put

gavin hoyte will be sagna’s cover i reckon if eboue does go and hopefully he’ll do a gibbs if called upon.

pedro… go on on striker mate, they sound bang out of order to me

  176. A says:

Do we know what the diagnosis or Vela’s injury is? Worried me last night – thought could well have done his knee ala gallas and cesc

  177. Rohan says:

isnt vermaelen left footed and hence a cover fot the left abck in addition to his CB duties ??

  178. Pedro says:

A, check CarlosVelanews in the blog roll… they have a diagnosis there.

  179. A says:

kenya vermaelen can’t play right back

  180. Cartman says:

if ever dzeko came to arsenal, every season it wud be DZEKO IS GOING TO MILAN, ala cesc!

  181. Cartman says:

    got to go now!

  182. dennisdamenace says:

Talking of Vermin, my colleague in Brussels tells me that Vermin often keeps Kompany and Fellaini outta the Belgium national team!

And, before you ask, i haven’t has a response about Vermin’s ability to play in midfield, if he keeps Fellaini outta the national side??

  183. SUGA3 says:

    SharkeySure, no worries m8 ;-)

  184. ArsenalKenya says:

Melo is coming to Arsenal because Florentina are after Lucas-Liverpool and Carciorca both DM. Florentina said arsenal will wait for a couple of days before making a desicion. Looks likely that the deal will be done this week

    http://www.violanews.com/news.asp?idnew=39019

  185. Rohan says:

anyone think zhirkov will be a big success in england?…or will he just be a slighty better malouda

  186. wardo says:

yeah i’m good cheers ddm !

Interesting point bout the Verminator keeping fellani out the Belg national team……I actually think Fellani is pretty useful.

  187. Rohan says:

maybe vermaelen is our DM ??
naah, unlikely…. and if he also keeps kompany out of the team who is his partner ??

  188. A says:

So liverpool could lose Alonso, Mascherano, AND Lucas?! Plesis and who centre mid then?!

  189. Gf60 says:

Re “I’m sorry but you really are a complete bunch of clueless, unintelligent, barely literate, wankers.”

Pray tell. Why are you so polite?

  190. Franchise says:

my chicken madras is so good that i cooked it twice in less than 12 hours :D

  191. wardo says:

yeah I do Rohan…….hope not tho !! Cause we all know where he is going.

  192. gazzap says:

I would take that Eboue plus cash offer for Melo. Heck I would even throw them Senderos as well!
we need to strengthen our first team to a level that is good enough to win the league. if we have to lose a couple of fringe players then so be it.
Eboue went on record saying that he did not want to be on the bench anymore and complained he did not play enough (although he played 44 games last season!). therefore despite his usefulness as back up to Sagna he should be let go.

also the ACN happening in Jan. I reckon Hoyte or Coquelin could cover Sagna. wenger would probably plump for Toure!

  193. A says:

Cheers pedro, what’s a strained fibula?! Didn’t realise you could strain a bone? When he did it looked like a less serious version of what Owen did for England, thought it was a knee rather than shin injury

  194. Rohan says:

belgium have quite a good group coming through havent they..pretty impressive for such a tiny country…
    kompany

  198. Rohan says:

a few of them were in the team that gave liverpool a run for their money in their champions league qualifiers.. standard liege i think it was..

  199. Rohan says:

i don’t think that he would be any better than song as DM anyway..
he is a CB and a CB he shall be for the arsenal..

  200. Somma says:

tonyadamsisgod, you misquoted Cesc. He said that he understood why Ronaldo left Man United as he had won everything there was to win with them, but with him it’s different, as not only is he the captain of Arsenal, but he wants to win everything there is to win with us before he even starts to think of anything else. I read the Spanish interviews and the translated ones. I find it quite amazing at some Arsenal fans falling for these tricks and destabilisation.

He has never mentioned about leaving and even made a statement about it. Which is why the papers have changed tack, so it’s no longer about Cesc wanting to leave, but Arsenal wanting to sell him in order to generate funds. Which would be stupid as to generate funds you sell your average players not your best ones. Wenger rarely sells unless he wants to, and at his own time, it happened with Vieira, Henry etc.

    Mornin All…

Thx for the post Geoff..and ill keep well clear of making any comments regarding wanting flambitch back and not O’Leary..mate,…

there’s one interesting news today anyhow..Hangeland refused a pay rise..from 15.000 to 30.000 a week…is he really only paid 15.000 a week by Fulham..makes my jump at the conclusion somethin is about to happen and he is most certainly a Wenger type of signing…well…im Norwegian so i might well be just wishing :)

  208. Arsenal Tom says:

    LOL…

Bordeaux have denied that they have received any offers from Sunderland for Marouane Chamakh, and in fact the president was quite insulting about their link!
A report in the Times said: Jean-Louis Triaud, the Bordeaux president, has denied that the French champions have received a £13 million offer from Sunderland for Marouane Chamakh.

The Morocco forward has one year left on his contract and is wanted by Arsenal, should Emmanuel Adebayor leave.

“We never received an offer,” Triaud said. “What the f*** would he do at Sunderland? You have heard him say he will only sign for a big English club.

I don’t want to insult Sunderland, but I don’t even know where they finished last season.”

  209. Ali Saljuk says:

The Bordeaux president is one funny guy !

  210. dennisdamenace says:

  218. ArsenalKenya says:

The Fulham defender Brede Hangeland has finally rejected Fulham’s offer of a new contract worth £30,000 a week. This is double his previous wage, but well below what he is really worth, so now he is open to better offers, which will not be hard to find.

The first two clubs to be reported as strongly interested in Hangeland are Tottenham and Arsenal, who have been linked with him for ages.

The Metro reported today: The Cottagers have offered Norway international Hangeland a fresh contract which doubles his wages but after seeming to be on the verge of continuing his stay on the banks of the Thames he has yet to put pen to paper.

Tottenham and Arsenal are also interested in the centre-half, who was one of the best central defenders in the Premier League last season and one of the prime reasons Fulham qualified for Europe.

Spurs need a quality reinforcement alongside Michael Dawson in case either Ledley King or Jonathan Woodgate suffer long-term injuries this season while the Gunners also need to strengthen their rearguard after looking soft at the back at times last term.

  219. wardo says:

    yeah that make sense :D
altho out there they would even swap him for a camel

i love the bordeaux president..haha imagine if wenger was like that…

  225. TJ DA GOON says:

Who the fuck is this Anthony Kastrinakis cunt and has he got an agenda us? Every negative, bullshit story about AFC from that fucking rag seems to come from that fucking prick. Is he a Spud or some shit? Absolute prick! Get a life Anthony you wanker!!

Sorry lads, just had to let off some steam there.

  226. dennisdamenace says:

    Well said TJ ;)

  227. Duke says:

I have read some previous comments and noticed someone saying they lost respect for the Telegraph, well mate if that happened you should never pick up a British paper again, as the Telegraph is by far the best. If anyone begs to differ, please name me a better British newspaper. Cheers.
Oh and a good afternoon to you all.

  228. dennisdamenace says:

    Daily Sport……………..B 8O 8O BS

  229. wardo says:

    Holy Sh1t Rohan / Inside !!!!

Where do you guys live ?? Lightning is bad over here but have not met anyone that has had their fan blown off the wall or the communications cables down for weeks !!

  230. wardo says:

    Hey Duke,

What about the Times ?? Covers sport and leaves out all the crap…….i.e BS stories that the sun print every day !!

The Sun are closer to football players than anyone else tho cause they have people who go undercover and pretend to be agents…..basically, they operate in a real dirty and disrespectful way !!

  231. A says:

yeah the Times is better, but still a load of shite!

  232. wardo says:

Melo says he is happy at Fiorentina……..looks unlikely that Arsenal will sign him now.

C’mon Wenger….dont waste you time. Go and get Cana !!

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11670_5416187,00.html

  233. Duke says:

The Times is okay, I still prefer the Telegraph though.
ddm, you got me there, forgot that one :P

  234. Pedro says:

    I’m still a massive Beano fan myself…

  235. wardo says:

    Dandy Pedro…….much better read :D

  236. dennisdamenace says:

Is that where you get you fecking jokes from, you bindipper you??

  237. redbearer says:

Least forgetting the Dandy eh Pedro!

  238. Pedro says:

    haha, damn straight DDM!

    I wasn’t a fan of Dandy…

    So… Shoot or Match magazine?

  239. insidealbania says:

Wardo, our modem and rooters blew, but we got it fixed in just under a week. Not bad for this part of the world.

  240. desmoinesgunner says:

Dandy? Beano? What about Scorcher & Score???

  241. redbearer says:

Seriously tho I personally think the best football paper is the non-league one because it cuts out all the commerical bullsh*t!

But that kinda sums up the modern Premiership game… full of sponsorship, hyped up stories which adds to the extra expense of it all.. such garbage is made in the gutter and glammed up by the gutter press!

  242. Lewyd24 says:

Wardo ,Just looking at that article I wouldn,t want to buy Melo. He seems to me he has a bit of an attitude. When he says ” I have not been on the bench once”. At Arsenal he would be on the bench at some point & he may react badly to that , so I think we should just leave him out.

  243. Franchise says:

    Archie and Jughead

  244. Pedro says:

    Lewdy… he’d still get 40 games a year.

I can’t imagine us forking out £20mill if it was to bench him!

  245. wardo says:

    Lewyd….yeah I saw that comment.

He could have meant that he was expecting to be on the bench but is surprised that he wasn’t….

  246. maqitlarge says:

    90 Minutes.
    I loved that mag!

  247. dennisdamenace says:

Shoot………and the mag, or even shoot over the mag ;)

  248. wardo says:

    Viz was pretty good…..

  249. Pedro says:

My brother was bought a copy of over 60′s razzle the other day… grim isn’t the word…

  250. wardo says:

should be illegal Pedro !!! :(

  251. Pedro says:

Wardo, in most countries it is…

  252. Franchise says:

    grease is the word

  253. Pedro says:

    Afternoon Fran

  254. Franchise says:

hi pedro im so fucking bored

  255. Pedro says:

Franchise… me to… I hate working for my money.

We seem to be making a melo-f it regarding this Brazilian transfer…

    Apologies…

  256. dennisdamenace says:

    You “brother’s” eh………. ;)

  257. Franchise says:

i hope its worth the hassles Pedro come May 2010 would we be smiling or not. that is the question

  258. dennisdamenace says:

Surely that’s worth a yellow card, yes it probably is, but don’t call me Shirley………….taxi!!

  259. Franchise says:

DDM whats cracking mate? we need to meet up for a beer soon and discuss logisitics for our Green season ticket sharing scheme

  260. Wonderboy says:

That joke stinks worse than my fingers.

  261. Pedro says:

Guys… logistics is my speciality… and beer.

  262. Pedro says:

Pipe down wonder boy… that joke was amazing.

  263. KM in WALES says:

    .

  264. Franchise says:

where has ur fingers been wonderboy uh?

  265. dennisdamenace says:

Franchi – We do indeed sir, and you gotta cough and drop for your half of PHW’s retirement fund 8)

  266. Franchise says:

i would rather fatten up the uzbek DDM :D

  267. dennisdamenace says:

You blagging an invite to our board meeting then you old Mungler??

  268. dennisdamenace says:

I think someone’s already beaten you to that one old chum 8O

  269. dennisdamenace says:

    Peroneeeeeeeee!

  270. dennisdamenace says:

    Onion Bag Mo’Fuddas….

  271. KM in WALES says:

There’s too much MELOdrama at present over this transfer. I think fiorentina are just using us to get a better price frm Juve.Wenger needs to look at the french league, there are so many emerging DM talents there.Another port of call is Real Madrid – is de la red a DM?or we can get the crocked Diarra – he’d fit in right at Arsenal…

  272. Pedro says:

    Fran… Serena Williams apparently.

I was trying to DDM… I’m guessing it’s going to be a fight for the best tickets… I was going to adjudicate!

  273. Franchise says:

we can meet this weekend or the one after the barnet game son

    i cant do next weekend

  274. Pedro says:

    KM, I like your style.

  275. KM in WALES says:

!!!!BREAKING NEWS !!!! ALONSO having a medical at Real Madrid!!!

  276. Wonderboy says:

Hasn’t de la Red got some kind of heart problem or summink, not that it has stopped Arsene from buying in the past.

  277. KM in WALES says:

pedro – join the club! :) madrid are gona have an awesome side which means L’Pool r gona go after CANA….

  278. leon says:

from what i understand its 20 mill plus eboue, there is no wao on earth wenger would go for that for staters he is no viera or anywere as good, for that money wenger can get 2 experienced midfielders for that price, looks like a real crappy deal to me,i dont think too many players will leave however i thinkw e are stuck with silvestor idont think many clubs are going for for him and if he stays i would use him for the carling cup games.

i am also very eager fndout what wengers plans are for fran merida, noviet the norway defender, couquin who i think should go on loan or be played in carling cup is wasted in reserves as is merida and wintshire

  279. dennisdamenace says:

I can do this Friday, if that’s any good to ya??

You can adjudicate (if that’s what they call it these days) all you like fella, so long as you bring along some beer vouchers, i’ve heard some slightly disturbing rumblings about you and white fivers ;)

  280. Duke says:

Yeah Wonderboy, he has, KM, he is taking a year off because of a heart condition… :( sad really, for any human being to have to have his career ruined like that. Good player also.

  281. KM in WALES says:

yeh Kanu also had a heart problem.wenger’s always buying a lot of injured players…is he one of those players with a strange fetish? I wonder if the treatment room looks like a dungeon/ torture chamber? :)

  282. Pedro says:

Duke, I am sure he was paid out a huge lump for his troubles!

Still a shitter… but a couple of mill in the bank would make it a little more bearable!

  283. Franchise says:

Friday eh? when do u leave the city then i can meet u up smwhere around the square mile

  284. SharkeySure says:

You’re spot on there Leon and KM.

More likely you get someone in for less money who DOESN’T become an automatic pick, until his on pitch performances force the issue.

That way its seen as a challenge to Denilson and Song, rather than a vote of no confidence in them.

Personally, I rate Song very highly. Shame he’s off to ACN in Jan, and Cameroon always make at least the semi’s…bollox!!

  285. KM in WALES says:

not players – ppl. Check out newsnow – spain – real madrid – spanish version for the ALONSO transfer move.

  286. Pedro says:

SS, there would be no point in buying another contender… we’d have 4 of them then!

Rambo, Denilson, Song, Diaby… then Nasri if you believe what Wenger said.

If we are going to buy… it has to be someone better, otherwise it represents no value.

  287. SharkeySure says:

    Kanu, good buy.

Overmars had recoverd from a serious injury and no one else would take a chance..that turned out quite well.

Can I also mention Anders Limpar, not cos he was injured, but just cos he’s just crossed my mind. Wot a player !!!

  288. Pedro says:

Any of you guys caught swine flu yet?

  289. KM in WALES says:

SS – I rate SONG as the DM.i think he can be a yaya toure type but with more skill/ creativity & with the odd occasional goal….

  290. SharkeySure says:

OPedro – if rumours are to be believed then Cana could be bought for the price of a ‘contender’. ie under €10m

Whoever we buy at whatever cost, they’ll be contenders in my eyes, on the basis that they (99%certainty) won’t have played Prem footie before.

  291. Pedro says:

SS… then there is Rosicky, Jeffers and Silvestre!

  292. Pedro says:

KM, I don’t think Song has the mobility to be like Yaya…

I think he’ll be moved into centre defence this year.

I think Denilson is the most likely to make it… if adds a bit of tenacity to his game and bulks up… he’ll be the one to push on.

  293. SharkeySure says:

KM I’m in your camp mate….not that tent holidays in Wales are realy my thing you understand.

    Mrs Sure would surely object!!

Vote for a DM. Vote SONG !!

  294. Gunners The Stunners says:

    Afternoon Grovers,

I don’t think Arsene is after Melo, Cana or any other player who these tabloids have been telling us about everyday. Look at Varmaelen, he popped into news on the day he told the press about him coming to London for medical. So, let’s see who Arsene signs this time…

  295. KM in WALES says:

Pedro – one of my staff come back frm spain last week & had a flu.the NHS have told her she has to stay in isolation for 5days.so she’s been in her flat since….:/

  296. Pedro says:

Everytime you call me oPedro… I imagine you are about to sing to me…

  297. Duke says:

    Pedro, agree, but still…
I remember when Redondo has a injury similar to Rosicky, he didn’t take his pay after he was supposed to come back after 9 month and got injured again. Great man.

  298. leon says:

    ss pedro

finding someone better is very easy at all,not many players availeble, but i am sure can find someone

  299. Pedro says:

Gunners… Vermaelen was the worst kept secret for weeks. Hardly a surprise.

  300. Pedro says:

Didn’t Ronaldo do that as well?

  301. Pedro says:

Eduardo… now there was a surprise

  302. Pedro says:

KM, if I lived in London, I would currently be faking symptoms!

  303. Wonderboy says:

I don’t think that Melo is a press rumour. Remember, it was on Fiorentina’s official website.

  304. KM in WALES says:

Denilson is a younger version of Gilberto but i think he’l be better with time.

  305. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

    not likely km

  306. Pedro says:

    I meant worked in london

  307. wardo says:

I heard something about Rosicky last week !!

Not sure how true it is but it comes from someone who knows a few people at Arsenal.

He said he was told that Rosicky has not played for over 1 year cause he is a coke head and has a bad addiction…….apparently, he then asked his mate at the club “so, who is the coke head in the team?” and his mate responded “Rosicky”

Wouldn’t normally post this but, he isn;t the sort of person to lie and he has come out with a few bit and pieces before that were not in the press for a good week or so !!

Hope its not true……altho, I do know for a fact that other PL clubs have put players on the injury list cause they would fail a drugs test !!

  308. Pedro says:

At 20, I believe Gilberto was still working in a factory.

  309. nishanth says:

capello has lauded arsenal’s academy and wants other clubs to follow arsenal.Well atleast someone has something nice to say about arsenal

  310. Pedro says:

    Wardo… he is lying.

The worst rumour in football and complete bollocks.

That ones been flying about for ages.

If there was any truth in it… NoTW would have been all over it months ago.

  311. KM in WALES says:

regarding melo’s rejection of Arsenal….I just think the culture & climate is the biggest obstacle.if we were a spanish/italian clubs – no problem.Juve also has a bigger history than us Imo.

  312. Pedro says:

KM, playing in front of 12000 people every week must be pretty shitty though, regardless of the history.

Knowing the Prem is the best league in the world by a long shot must also be pretty shit.

    He should come over here!

  313. Pedro says:

    Right… hitting the road… I just sneezed… I’m keeping ‘em crossed!

  314. wardo says:

must admit Pedro, it didnt seem likely to me cause of the length of time……the club would just drop him in it.

However, I do know for certain that a few other players have done this before and been put on the injury list…….altho, none of them were at Arsenal.

  315. KM in WALES says:

PEDRO -that was sharp! BBK – u’v been tangoed! :) Nishanth Capello needs to tell the FA to make arsenal a blueprint for all club academies…hopefully then we can watch England play good football.

  316. A says:

“Melo’s rejection of arsenal” have something significant happened whilst i was out?!

  317. nishanth says:

Yeah there is some serious anti-arsenal stuff going in that setup.I mean wilshere,JET,murphy all missed out in the u-19 england team. Not that they are going learn anything by playing with their useless counterparts but still its bullshit

  318. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

don’t really care, denilson is shit and never will be good enough for arsenal end of

  319. KM in WALES says:

Pedro – i agree with u.but the majority of s.americans prefer Italy &Spain over the EPL….similar culture maybe, nice weather.

  320. A says:

nisanth in the england youth teams the age groups stay together until they play for the u21s, so even though the likes of Wilshere are better than some of the U19s, Wilshere played in the U17s, Murphy and JET the last U18s, so they weren’t picked for the U19s

  321. nishanth says:

    Didn’t know about that A

  322. Franchise says:

at 20 Ronaldo de Lima was the best striker in the world

there are two sides to a coin ;)

  323. A says:

Yeah nisanth – they like building teams, so unless you have players like rooney and theo fast-tracked towards the first team so straight into u21 and main squad, they generally keep age groups together, so players play with each other more and aren’t moving around all the time. Also would be a killer for the likes of Wilshere playing in 2 European championships in one summer!

  324. Gunners The Stunners says:

KM, many S.Americans prefer Spain & Italy over EPL cos England have very strict visa & work permit policy compared to Spain & Italy when it comes to non-european players. That’s why they head Spain & Italy in order to play top level football…

  325. KM in WALES says:

sorry for my slow replies folks – i’m posting off my phone which is a cunt sometimes.

  326. dennisdamenace says:

Franchi – anytime after 4pm on Friday fella….

  327. Dutchman says:

What Arsenalkenya posted, was that melo will sign for us this week. On Violanews, hangeland and melo would be very good!!! And what says Kaka when he was going to madrid” I will stay here for sure” three hours later he was going to real.

  328. KM in WALES says:

STUNNERS – ur right abt the visa problem.I think another factor is that only in this decade have we had a lot of south americans come over to the EPL.before the english domination of the champions league the 2 big leagues were Italy & Spain which attracted the big players. However now that the EPL has hit the bigtime we’r attracting more & more admiring glances.we’v got 4 big clubs while Spain has 2 and Italy 3.i think the trend is changing now though we’v got a lot of s.americans over here, but even if the visa problem was resolved i still think the s.americans would prefer Spain & Italy because of the lifestyle & culture

  329. JamaicanGunnersFan says:

    Geoff or Pedro

Love this site, very informative … keep the post them coming ….

    My question is

The rumour about the Flamini swap for Ade plus 20 mil and the Melo for Eboue or Senderous … if both are true, which would you rather?

  330. KM in WALES says:

i wonder why there aren’t many british players playing in Spain & Italy?

  331. Gunners The Stunners says:

KM, you’re right about culture as they don’t have to learn another language in Spain or Italy. Another issue with playing in EPL is that the players will have to pay higher tax wages. But your point is correct that EPL is getting stronger and more popluar than the other two which is attracting more s.americans players to come and play in EPL.

  332. A says:

Because you actually need technical ability to play in those leagues KM, and very few British players have any!

Melo hasn’t said he’s not coming to us has he? when did he do that?

  333. KM in WALES says:

dutchman – whats ur opinion on Affellay & Elia (fc twente)?

  334. Arsenal Tom says:

KM.. too much hard work to go abroad and learnt he lingo and adapt…

plus there always plenty of clubs willing to take them in england

  335. KM in WALES says:

A – I think another factor is that the most british cant adapt that well to living overseas – we are quite lazy i.e adapting to new way of life, new language whereas the spanish, french, africans are quite adaptable.not sure why though.could u imagine Rooney adapting to life in Italy/Spain? Stunners – tax aint that big an issue imo,as the small clubs in the EPL pay v.good wages compared to the minnows in other leagues.

  336. KM in WALES says:

gotto guys.c u in the evening.

  337. Cartman says:

melo doesn’t want to leave fiorentina, so let’s get cana! i dont understand why is wenger wasting his time!

  338. redbearer says:

Me’s thinks that this one might be a popular move..

    http://www.soccervoice.com/n090742.htm

About a boy called Randell :)

  339. redbearer says:

    *Randall

  340. MARK GOONER says:

    BBK spot on

Denislon is not god enough maybe in 5 years but we cant and i refuse to wait around for him to come good

    ship him out

  341. Geoff says:

Jamaican, welcome to Le Grove, sorry it took so long, you’re now free to blog.

To answer your question, I would have Flamini back and sell Ade.

  342. MARK GOONER says:

    diaby
    eboue
    senderos
    denilson

thats 20mil to spend on a DM snd im sure just half of what those 4 earn in wages will be enough to fund wages of a new DM

daniel sturridge, chelsea getting him for under 4 mil that is a bargain

  343. A says:

Cartman why do you say Melo doesn’t want to leave?

  344. MARK GOONER says:

    is cana really good enough

    i dont know

an 8 minute clip of him going in hard (looks good) but after hearing xavier revoiur (french ligue 1 expert) on talk sport saying that he’s positioning is poor and lacks technical ability and a passing ability

saying that though if wenger signed him 2morrow and thought otherwise id be happy, anyone in that midfield other than

    eboue, song, denilson, nasri
THAT MUST BE THE WORST MIDFIELD IN 13 YEARS AT OUR CLUB add Diaby to that and its shocking

  345. Dutchman says:

KM, Elia is leaving for HSV and he was pretty good, he was going to be a star at arsenal. And about affelay( I am for PSV here in holland,I go to many matches of them) affelay is the best player we have in the dutch division, his dribbling is wonderful and his shot kills every keeper. He was topscorer for PSV as a midfielder, I really hope arsenal sign him next season. And about melo he will joining us at the end of the week(or a other signing) mark my words!!!!

  346. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

hey dutchman who’s rated higher lazovic or afellay?????????

  347. Dutchman says:

Lzovic is the worst player at PSV,really he is!!!
Affelay is the best in the league. Or Suarez from Ajax.

  348. Geoff says:

Mark, let me ask you if you could find an 8 minute clip of Denilson and Song?

Not if you went through 3 years of videos you couldn’t!

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I would still have Cana over Melo, but either over what we have.

  349. Mayank says:

    http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=goal_calcio_debate_serie&prov=goal&type=lgns
The writer says Melo must not be sold as it will weaken the serie a. I think he might just be under-rated in the blog world because of the confed cup. Heck even Xavi had an average one and the spainish are supposed to have great understanding like the Brazilians.

  350. Mayank says:

    *Spanish

  351. A says:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evHMkTuwg4o

Geoff there’s a Denilson video, youtube is down at the minute, but look on a video entitled “alexandre song – Arsenal’s secret weapon”

The best player in the world going on youtube videos is probably owusu-abeyie, they mean very very little, and you can make any player in the world look awesome, or shite, in a youtube video.

  352. MARK GOONER says:

geoff im not sticking up for denilson, song is a squad player and can do a job in an emergency at CB, i just want a dm with some heart, energy, strength and leadership and obviously enough techical ability to pass the ball forward

he hasnt got to cost 20 mil just a player whos at a good age with experience in a top league as we cannot afford to gamble on “POTENTIAL” again

  353. Dutchman says:

The chieff of fiorentina has said that he will that melo stays but that he will be sold because a club has nearly a bid that is succesfull and it is arsenal.
More information about this in the next few days.

  354. Dutchman says:

The chieff of fiorentina said that we will see more in the next few days!!! He said it really!!! ARsenal signed him i think so!!!

  355. A says:

Think you’re getting a bit overexcited there Dutchman! I wouldn’t be surprised if Melo or someone was confirmed in the next few days though, along with VP signing his contract

  356. Jimbo says:

I think Cana’s off to Germany.

  357. A says:

It seems noone really wants Cana, maybe he really isn’t that good?! Same with Veloso possibly? Isn’t he meant to be in England this week sorting out a transfer to the prem?

  358. Geoff says:

A I agree but like I said if they did one on Song and Denilson it would be over several years, and that one was!

  359. kingsley says:

    dutchman is this your source?

    6 Jul 2009 09:45:14

Fiorentina patron Andrea Della Valle admits the Viola want to keep Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo, but he showed no signs of certainty that they actually can.

The Viola revealed Premier League side Arsenal had made a bid for the Selecao star, who joined the Italian side from Almeria last year. The Gunners are keen on Melo, and it is suggested they offered something close to his €25 million price tag.

Della Valle tried to dodge questions regarding the player’s future, and he did not sound at all certain as to whether his man would be staying.

“Everyone knows he has a release clause and that is his price, I cannot comment further on this,” the chief told Sky Sport Italia.

“Will we trade? There is nothing to trade. We will try to keep the player, but we will see what happens in the next few days.”

  360. Geoff says:

No one want Villa, Ribery or Adebayor either.

  361. Dutchman says:

    yes,kingsley;)

  362. goonermichael says:

Geoff I’d disagree about Villa and Ribery but unfortunately not our TT.

  363. KM in WALES says:

    dark in here….

  364. Stu says:

HA! I just heard Ancelotti saying Terry is as good as Maldini! I know he worked with Maldini but surely he is bullshitting because comparing Terry to the best ever defender is ridiculas!

Maldini in his prime is perfect. All Terry has is the “JT spread”.

  365. Dutchman says:

    where KM????

  366. KM in WALES says:

lol geoff @ 18.26 :) it’l be nice seeing a classy player like zhirkov in the Epl. Tbh guys i’m fed up with this transfer bitchiness.put ur feet up & hear some unchained MELOdy hehe

your of of the opinion that delinson will only come good in five years and song is mearly a squad player at best,i personelydont agree with athat all i dont believe it was fluke the team went un beaton for so long with cesc i think a large part of the reason was the performances of both delinson/song and the only reason they had bad start was because cesc/delinsn,song ahd realy played together and my personly at 21 both deilonson/song will be alot better, this is just my opinion looking at song and the little experience he has and how solid he looks paricualy when playing against teams like manu there little dought in my mind in 2-3 years will become world class and at 21 would never sell delinson, and i dont think melo is worth 20 mill at all

  368. kingsley says:

dutchman do you rate Urby Emanuelson? he is a player i admire.

  369. Coadsi says:

I have never seen Cana or Veloso play, but i find it strange that Cana and Velso are considered cheaper buys compared to Melo but is being over looked by Le Boss. it suggest to me that they are either not that good as we think(or no better than what we have) or Le Boss has lost the plot.

  370. KM in WALES says:

dutchman – in wales. Raining & grim.i’m hoping le-grove will bring some light into my life (hehe)

  371. Dutchman says:

Urby is a winger but he playes many games left-back.
I am an admirer too, but he is not ready for arsenal.
I hope we will see that dembele comes to arsenal from AZ!! He is really good and really a EPL player.

  372. KM in WALES says:

leon – agree on SONG being worldclass in 2-3yrs. COADSI i dnt think they’r good enough l8rs guys

  373. Stu says:

I thought Emmanuelson was a left back who is now a CM. Guess i thought wrong. But he did play a good bit at left back for Ajax years ago and even Holland…

  374. Stu says:

    Bye whoever is leaving….

  375. MARK GOONER says:

    leon i quite like song
    not denilson

our long UNBEATEN run consisted of bore draws and wins against smaller teams (im not knocking the run) but it has cleary clouded peoples judgement

what the fuck does denilson offer
he played more games than anyone this year

mostly with song and nasri and eboue on the flanks
FUCK ME that has to be the worst midfield since wenger took over

song id defo keep, he got better as the season went on and can fit in as CB as well if need be

Denilson on the other hand is far to average, he isnt good enough going forward or isnt strong enough defending

IF DENILSON WAS GOOD ENOUGH THE CANA, MELO AND ALL THE OTHER DM LINKS THIS SUMMER WOULD NOT EXIST

  376. Mayank says:

    Agreed leon,
And what is this infamous plot Wenger is accused of losing every now and then(not talking to coadsi specifically)
That he has to win trophies? I doubt it, management is an art and like most arts one gets better at it with age till one goes senile. I agree he might not have the physical strength to do some of the things that he could have 5 years ago, but he’s 58 and there’s no reason to believe that he’s become slow or unrealistic.

  377. MARK GOONER says:

im not gona pretend to know about cana or melo
unless you watch these guys week in week out, neither should you, but going on what marcotti, and the editor of gazetta say about melo id take him all day long

  378. leon says:

i know wenger took his eye of the ball letting some players like flamster go but when it comes to spotting players just how often does wenger get it wroung lets face it if cana and velonso were that good there is no dought the likes manu, chelsea, madrid, ect would have gone for them no trust wenger judgment plus there other factors involved they may be happy at club and the club might be asking 20 mill like melo which i am sorry unless he has same ability has veria then you payout that kind of money

  379. Stu says:

Mark, i tend to agree with you on the unbeaten run.

We may not have lost but we drew an awful lot of games against average sides. And the good defensive record was because we effectively had at least 6 players defending. The defence and 2 so called DMs. Not to mention Eboue on the wing.

We may not have conceded but we didnt score many either, and thats down to having shite people in attack. Eboue, Denilson Diaby wont halp you score many goals at all.

  380. Dan says:

dunno if you’ve talked about this but apparently ac milan have tabled bids for hunterlarr and fabiano. not looking good for the ade deal

  381. Mayank says:

Mark the links existed because Arsenal fans are not pleased with him. Can’t blame us, we’ve had people like Petit and Viera in their positions. But the fact is we tend to remember their worse performances. Whenever either was given a good run in the team they started to look good. I am not against a new signing as it will help the team to improve and also the players, but to say that they’re crap is being a bit prejudiced against them.

  382. Stu says:

Dan, i knew about Fabiano but i think they are only going for Huntelaar on a loan deal. I hope they get neither and have to buy Ade. I would sell Ade for as little as 15m right now.

  383. MARK GOONER says:

who here wants ade replaced with chamakh
not me so im for ADE staying

  384. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

    hell no to chamakah

  385. MARK GOONER says:

CRAP is harsh obviously denilson aint shit, but he aint good enough to boss a midfield with song next to him, so next season with cesc in the centre and only room for 1 DM i dont want him anywhere near the team

  386. MARK GOONER says:

bbk u want ade to stay or replaced with someone else

  387. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

    i want ade to stay

  388. Stu says:

    BBK wants everybody to stay.

  389. gooner-pak says:

no one wants villa and ribery bcaz of there prices adn ade well atleast by now every one knows he adeba-whore

  390. Stu says:

Nobody wants Ade because of his price. Wenger wants 25m for him if not more.

Last season when he was saying that all the big clubs were after him there was actually no bids. Noone bid for him. Barca, Milan, even Porto (according to Ade) wanted him but none of them bid.

  391. gooner-pak says:

well i took hell of time reading comments….

  392. leon says:

    maybank

thats what you call defending as a team thats what manu do without a dm player,i am saying delinson and song are first choice i just saying there a fear chance the kind dm player that wenger wants just ainst going be easy get, there is no dought when we lost that many midfielders plus cesc, they had make best of that meant having defend alot more and play alot deeper but the problem i have without is that we had lack goals abit but with likes aa and risisky there i have problem with that all

  393. MARK GOONER says:

    stu what do u want

  394. Stu says:

    What do you mean?

  395. MARK GOONER says:

    http://fourfourtwo.com/news/restofeurope/33503/default.aspx

has wenger written all over it

could be good could be average, defo not what we all had in mind interms of experience

  396. Honest Bill says:

Looks like United are going for Obertan

  397. A says:

Stu i really think wenger would accept 20 mil for ade, or maybe even 15-20, don’t rule out a sale yet, though it isn’t looking good. There’s no way chamakh would come in for ade anyways even if he went, so there’s no need to want him to stay purely for that reason!

mark wenger said benzema was the only french player he liked, so i doubt he’s interested in matuidi

  398. MARK GOONER says:

stu i meant in terms of ade, but going by your last comment i take it u want him gone

  399. Stu says:

I guess you mean transfers MarkG.
So honestly i would be happy is Ade and Silvestre left. Other than that i wouldnt be too fussed about the other “average-ish” players staying like Diaby Eboue Denilsong (as long as none of them start ahead of better players).

We have enough forwards, Silvestres loss would be covered if Senderos stays and the just a DM would comlete the squad imo.

  400. Stu says:

IF Eboue leaves the i suggest getting Volz back in as back up. He is still only 26 after all.

  401. Honest Bill says:

Haha, Madrid are parading around their new piece of meat

  402. marzouca says:

So if we really do sell Fab4, do you think Arsene is going to replace him or let diaby and ramsey come through

  403. Honest Bill says:

Marzouca, I don’t think it will happen, but if it did then i think Nasri would be his replacement

  404. Stu says:

Yeah i would think if its in house replacement then it would be Nasri, Ramsey and Merida in that order as his replacements. Merida is a while off tho…as is Ramsey but they have still shown they are capable.

  405. leon says:

what is clear wenger is not desparate to sell ade thats why high asking price,i dont think its that big of an issue, the way i see it if steps up next seasson great but with the amount players that score its not a big problem and wenger can sell if plays the same next season,if ade leaves there so many players who wenger can get

  406. Gunnersmith says:

Hello grovers this is pretty hilarious

    http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/2009/07/nike_gives_manu.html

  407. kingsley says:

if eboue leaves we were linked with crystal palace teenage right back nathan clyde at the start of the summer.

  408. Gunnersmith says:

And this is very muck quote pf the day

“We never received an offer,” Triaud said. “What the f*** would he do at Sunderland? You have heard him say he will only sign for a big English club. I don’t want to insult Sunderland, but I don’t even know where they finished last season.”

    Jean-Louis
    President Bordeaux

  409. Stu says:

Who was that about Smith? What player?

  410. Arindam@KOL says:

    That was about Chamakh.
Signs are that he is coming to us.
    Hmm..

  411. Coadsi says:

What is the funniest / dumbest / craziest rumour that you have heard recently?
For example i hear TH14 to L’pool. Have anyone else heard this?

  412. Arindam@KOL says:

This video left me a bit moist-eyed :

  413. Pat says:

As much as I hate Chamakh(Ade is 10x better), I’d take 20 million + Flamini for him.

  414. Stu says:

Fuck sake! I dont want the facker. He might come good like Ade did temporarily but im sick of Wenger trying to turn average players into world beaters. Just but someone that is good, not someone with the potential to be.

And whats worse is that Chamakh is 25. Not a lot of time to work with.

  415. Arindam@KOL says:

coadsi , I have been hearing that since Titi left us . All due to a interview he gave where he praised the Dippers fans. What was he thinking !?!

  416. goonermichael says:

I think we’ll still have Ade next year. I hope he’s playing for a pay rise. Anything to motivate him.

  417. Gunnersmith says:

Hello Stu think it was about chamahk

  418. goonermichael says:

Bordeaux president: Chamakh will much prefer Arsenal to Sunderland

he’s probably prefer bolton to sunderland

  419. Pat says:

And thats why we need Tomas. He gives a lot more effort than any of our other creative players.

  420. Stu says:

    Yep, thanks Smith.

I cant imagine why he would want to go to Sunderland in the first place. He is shite but not so shit that Sunderland are good enough for him.

  421. Pat says:

Titi once said Gerrard tried persuading him, did he not?

  422. Arindam@KOL says:

I wd be really HAPPY if we had no more INS/Outs this summer.

If we can have Rosicky and Eduardo for the whole season , we will storm the feckin league , imo.
The fuckers in the media will be running for cover if we can just get the current squad fit and running. I am sure of that.

  423. Stu says:

True Pat. He is a better all round player than given credit for.
I’ll be the first to admit that i didnt like him when he was fit but as the saying goes “you dont know what you have til its gone”.
I didnt appreciate how good he was for us.

  424. Stu says:

I would be happier is there was 1 more in and 1 out. Ade or Silvestre and a DM in.

  425. Arindam@KOL says:

Stu , Chamakh is shite – he is far worse than a shite Ade. Hope the deal does not materialise. Both for his and our good.

  426. A says:

stu it’s bollocks, chamakh talk isn’t tru, it wouldn’t happen!

  427. Coadsi says:

gm what the Bordeaux president said is no surprise. infact who would not? i am sure even nial quinn prefers Arsenal to Sunderland. so him saying this is no big deal. what would be a big deal if he stated the reverse

  428. Arindam@KOL says:

Stu , just a reminder how good Rosicky can be if FIT :

  429. zorr0 says:

    Evenin’ all!

    What’s the Bobby Moore then?

  430. Coadsi says:

I am sure wenger was just winding the fans up with that comment. he reads le grove and knows what fans think of Chamakh. i can just picture le Boss having a little smirk on his face when he said this. ( i hope, i wish )

  431. Arindam@KOL says:

    A , I wouldnt bet against it.

  432. A says:

I would arindam, makes no sense whatsoever, and wenger’s quotes were just twisted and taken out of context, absolutely no chance of it in my eyes

  433. Gunnersmith says:

The guy is so so flexible i dont like Ade but he’s 800 times better

  434. Stu says:

A, if we sign Chamakh then i am holding you personally responsible.

  435. Gunnersmith says:

He’s fucking average and slow a bit like berbatov

  436. Arindam@KOL says:

Couple of months back when I said that Bruno ALves is the answer to our defence , I was laughed at here. Well , Mardid and Barca are after him now.

    http://www.goal.com/en/news/91/portugal/2009/07/06/1367347/barcelona-and-real-madrid-both-keen-on-bruno-alves-reports

  437. Arindam@KOL says:

smith , Chamakh is pretty fast . Perhaps even quicker than Ade . He will link up better than him. He will also get a few assists.
Its finishing that he’s UTTER shite at. Imagine Ade with Eboue’s finishing. Thats Chamakh for you.

  438. Arindam@KOL says:

A , if Chamakh comes in ; you will be bearing the brunt of it around here

  439. Gunnersmith says:

Bruno Alves shit defenders like that don’t fit the premier league it’s too fast foe them i wouldnt be surprised if Mardid and Barca

  440. Stu says:

Well Arindam if he is shit at finishing then i dont want him. You say Chamakh is good at link up play.

Well we already have Bendtner who is suprisingly fast, a great headerer, a decent passer and for the time being, an awful finisher. Why would we buy chamakh when we already have Bendtner.

And saying he is like Ade with Eboues finishing is awful. Thats basically saying he is the shittest forward in the world.

  441. Gunnersmith says:

OH Yeah shit finisher is the last hting arsenal need right now you’ll agree with me on that

  442. Stu says:

Alves played against us for Porto. ONe game his defence conceded 4 simple goals. In the other game he scored against us while being marked by Diaby. Not that impressive consideing how we played in the away game.

He played against united twice and they conceded 3, 1 of them a dorect mistake by him. He isnt good enough for us because he seems slow and i just dont think he would fit into our defence.

  443. Rohan says:

chamakh is average at best when it ocmes to his link up play…he holds the ball well up front but he cannot see a pass..i have to admit he does ahve that knack of getting into scoring positions but wahts the point if he is shit at actually finishing then..
imo buying him would kill the likes of vela and jay simpson..

  444. Arindam@KOL says:

Gs , shit defenders like Alves ? Well , from what I saw of him , not too many who ply their in around here is fit to tie his laces.
Fast ?? Well , Micah and KOlo havent done too well recently , have they ?

And you reckon Vermaelen is better than him ??? Good for you.

  445. Gunnersmith says:

    why buy another lab experiment

  446. Arindam@KOL says:

Well Stu , maybe I went a bit over the top with the Eboue analogy ; but his finishing is really awful and NIk currently is better than him for sure. Just a wee bit , tho.

  447. Arindam@KOL says:

GS , coz we are AW’s lab.

  448. Honest Bill says:

Anyone know Chamakh’s goal/game ratio for last season?

  449. Gunnersmith says:

Arindam@KOL Dont know much about vermy yet but as Stu said conceeding 4 goals in defence against us is not a “good” record and if Real Madrid and Barca are after a player doesn’t mean they are the best money can buy does it afterall Barca are so keen on ade when we want him out out out

  450. Arindam@KOL says:

He scored around 13 in the league last season. But stats reveal nothing.
Or else , Denilson would have been the best CM in the world.

  451. Stu says:

And Madrid are only after defenders because Pelligrini asked for some. And im not sure how great their scouting network is seeing as they are just buying the biggest names.
They probably just saw his name in the paper and thought “lets buy this guy”.

  452. A says:

Ha fair dos – If Chamakh comes in then i’ll take full responsibility! There’s just no logic in it, and Wenger’s comments mean nothing. If he did come in then he’d be behind VP, Eduardo, Arshavin, and Bendy in the pecking order, why on earth would wenger go for him?! It just won’t happen!!

  453. Honest Bill says:

Arindam, Well that’s an over-simplification, since goals do reveal a lot about a striker. 13 isn’t very good though

  454. Rohan says:

chamakh is just a thinner darren bent..complete shit coupled with a few moments of brilliance…

  455. Stu says:

Anyway, discussing Alves is pointless because if Barca and Madrid are after him he will be going for about 20m. No chance we are getting him.

As for Chamakh, stats dont tell the whole story but 13 goals in france isnt better or as good as 15 goals in the prem, our third highest scorer.

  456. Gunnersmith says:

13 goals in Ligue 1 is so so poor IMO

  457. Honest Bill says:

Yeah but how many games did he play, and how many did he start, these all have to be taken in to consideration

  458. Rohan says:

if chamakh comes in, then i will trust wenger’s better judgement over mine and i will be convinced of his ability…. i trust wenger not to compromise on quality..

  459. Arindam@KOL says:

GS , who told you Barca are keen on Ade ?? That was a joke , I hope. They are getting 30-goals-a-season-guaranteed-Villa .

As far as Alves’ Porto getting drubbed at our hands being the basis for your idea that he is shite is a bit misplaced. You have to look beyond the scorelines a few times. I liked the loo of him – strong tackler , great in the air , composed on the ball – looked really accomplished to me.

Hope you are aware that Vermy’s team was drubbed 4-1 as well in the Eredivisie by a team thats far shittier than us. Go check it up. That didnt stop AW from buying him.

  460. Arindam@KOL says:

“I trust wenger not to compromise on quality..”

    Made me laugh that :P

Silvestre , Bitchslap , Ade (was shite when he came) …

  461. Rohan says:

bruno alves may be good but i doubt he is better than either djourou or vermaelen or maybe even senderos…….. and now that barca and madrid have entered the race we might as well drop out..

  462. Arindam@KOL says:

“and now that barca and madrid have entered the race we might as well drop out..”

When the fuck were we in , Rohan ? :P

  463. gooner786 says:

Looks like we are stuck with Adebayor:-

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11827_5417541,00.html

  464. Gunnersmith says:

Well Arindam seems Barca and the rest are after hom and i don’t think we need another CDF again we have 5 already

  465. Arindam@KOL says:

If I were Pelligrini I would demand Carvalho/Alves (available) , Clichy and Maicon .
Then , Barca would have a real fight on their hands.

  466. KM says:

    ARINDAM

awesome clips of Rosicky. cant wait for him to be back. the guy is class!

  467. Rohan says:

do you want me to name all the other great buys he has made…bitchslap was on a free so leave him out of it..
and so what if ade was shit if he came..the fact that he has transformed into a 25mill striker shows that he has some quality that wenger saw..it isnt his fault that he is an egoistical cunt..
i am the first to criticize wenger when it coems to his team selection and tactical moves and his reluctance to spend big money but you can’t say that he is not a good judge of quality..
his success to buy ratio is probably much higher than those of other managers..

  468. ManGoonian says:

Negativo levels stabilising… Ratio of positive comments, slowly increasing….

    Serotonin up 0.75%

    Engage….

    What’s cookin biatches?

  469. Rohan says:

hallo mangoonian.. and watch public enemies..absolutely mindblowing..one of the best movies of the year imo..

  470. ManGoonian says:

    Looks like we are stuck with Gooner786;

  471. Arindam@KOL says:

haha , ManGoonian that was funny !!

Rohan , AW is a great judge of talent no doubt. But we dont need talent now. Chamakh may be a decent talent ; but we cant afford to wait for 2 yrs (like we did for Ade) for him to come good. We need ready made fixes now.
    Get my point ?

  472. ManGoonian says:

Just wanted an excuse to post that JC Clark ting!

  473. A says:

ade was a young kid with potential, bischoff was a kid worth taking a punt on, nothing to lose, and silvestre was brought in for experience, wenger would never buy a 25 year old who would cost a fair bit who wasn’t up to it!

  474. A says:

arindam ade was a kid – chamakh is 25, so if he’s good enough, he’ll be good enough now, or won’t ever be good enough

  475. Arindam@KOL says:

KM , if we can get Rosicky and Eduardo fit again , we will be in with a serious shout right till the end.

  476. ManGoonian says:

Have we signed Chamakh??? He is 25 anyways, the same age as Ade, hardly a yute, nope, he aint David Villa, but he might be a decent player, Ade was hardly prolific in France and wassizface… Crocka Santa Cruz werent prolific in Deutchland either…

And, we aint even signed him…

  477. Gunnersmith says:

Al news seems to have dried up any news???

  478. Arindam@KOL says:

    A , I got 2 words for you : Ian Wright

  479. Rohan says:

i never even wanted chamakh..not good enough for the arsenal imo…all i said was that if wenger bought him he must ahve something…
and yep i get your point we don’t really need a new striker anyway..and if melo AND hangeland (??) come in we are done..

  480. A says:

nah we havn’t mang – and we’re not going to!

  481. zorr0 says:

Alright MG, seems to be mostly an argument about whether Shakatak is shit or not!

  482. Stu says:

Nah, Juhasz is better than Hangeland.

    :) :(

  483. Stu says:

These new faces are freaking me out. Change is NOT good.

  484. Gunnersmith says:

melo AND hangeland Rohan? wake up now

  485. ManGoonian says:

Its the old scatter gun approach to transfers…. Make out we are after the Chamakhs, melos etc, then kapow! We slip in there like Our man Flint (another effin top film OGC!) and sign……

Some fucker we can all slate at a later date…

  486. Arindam@KOL says:

    He indeed is !

  487. ManGoonian says:

    Stu;

    Nice selection you have there….

    Show off!

  488. Stu says:

 Watch ypu fookin language Mangoonian!

  489. ManGoonian says:

    Hay Zorr0!

  490. Arindam@KOL says:

Manure has signed a reserve player from Bordeaux. Some Obertan guy. How have the mighty fallen !

  491. Rohan says:

i do see both melo and hangeland coming in and possibly toure and 2 of diaby senderos and silvestre leaving…wenger did say he was going to buy 3 players did he not…but then again he says a lot of things..

  492. Stu says:

What face is that? ;) :???:

  493. zorr0 says:

Sky Sports has Ronaldo being paraded infront of about 8 million in the Bernabeu!

Some kid was having his picture taken with him but looked like he had just got a season ticket to Neverland!

  494. Rohan says:

have you seen juhasz play stu ? if so how good is he ?

  495. Gunnersmith says:

 Now I can say that Sir Red Nose is deillusioned

  496. Stu says:

8million IN the bernabeu. Fackin ‘ell, thats a tight squeeze.

  497. ManGoonian says:

    Its got….

  498. Rohan says:

yea zorro i ‘m watching the pony prancing about at the bernabeu on RMTV rite now..pathetic really

  499. Stu says:

No i havent seen him Rohan but i like the look of him. And he is hungarian payer of the year. Not saying much i know but Hungarian are doing well and i think he won the league with Anderlecht….i think.

  500. Gunnersmith says:

Selling Ronaldo Tevez and replacing them with what Owen Obertan Valencia Maybe he’s just tired of winning trophies

  501. ManGoonian says:

Thats good enough for me… Lets sign him!

  502. Gunnersmith says:

Selling Ronaldo Tevez and replacing them with what Owen Obertan Valencia Maybe he’s just tired of winning trophies win win win win it gets boring doesn’t it when you win win and win and don’t loose

  503. Stu says:

Fergie just wants to prove he is better than Wenger by trying to win things with average players.

  504. Stu says:

Or maybe he is trying to see who can go longer without winning something.

  505. A says:

No wenger didn’t say he was gonna sign 3 players rohan….

Obertan could be a quality player, but certainly isn’t gonna make a massive difference immediately – year or two of transition for utd methinks!

  506. Rohan says:

i like the look of him too, stu…

  507. Eboue says:

Hi Guys, Just in case you can’t buy it…

    Arsenal Season Review 2008-09 DVD
    Download Torrent: http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4988555

  508. Rohan says:

he id say he was looking to buy 2 moe players when he bought vermaelen unless my memory fails me..

  509. A says:

Think your memory fails you rohan – he never said he was gonna bring in 2 more, i’d imagine it was just people taking comments, interpretting how they wanted, and deciding it was fact! Wenger would never make a statement like that about his plans!

  510. arsenal fella says:

Fiorentina have reached a joint-ownership agreement with Juventus over Marco Marchionni which will see the midfielder play for the Viola next term, with reports suggesting Felipe Melo could now move in the opposite direction. Fiorentina have also signed defender Cesare Natali from Torino.

  511. Arindam@KOL says:

Rohan he says a lot of things. Dont take them literally :D

  512. zorr0 says:

A, not sure, I thought I saw quotes from AW saying 2 more max and that what Madrid was doing was ridiculous.

Any joy with that physio? Looking forward to lining up alongside you in Leeds for the mighty Arse!

  513. Rohan says:

where did you get that from arsenal fella..
have to say i’m not too surprised as i figured that juve would be more determined in thier pusuit of melo given that the prospect of xabi alonso isfading very quickly..

  514. Stu says:

Marchionni is quality. Dont know why Juve are letting him go.

  515. ManGoonian says:

Its all part fo the plan…. Now we slip in there, like a shadow in the night and sign …. NICKY BUTT….

  516. Gunnersmith says:

arsenal fella is that a fact or a joke

  517. Stu says:

Nah…Nicky Butt is too good for us.

  518. arsenal fella says:

yea it’s on skysports transfer clockwatch unfortunatly

  519. A says:

“Sunderland keeper Craig Gordon has warned the club is not going to leap from a scrap against relegation straight into the top four. ”

Who on earth would think different??!

  520. Gunnersmith says:

why dont we go for gago he’s pretty much surplus to requirement now

  521. Arindam@KOL says:

Naah , its Robbie Savage that AW is looking at for more steel.

  522. Arindam@KOL says:

    Bye fellas !

  523. Stu says:

Gago is good, nothing special really. And would probably be expensive.

  524. Stu says:

    Later Arindam.

  525. A says:

why would gago be surplus to requirements anyways?? Even if they sign alonso surely he’ll still be back up for him, especially with de la red out for the season

  526. ManGoonian says:

If de la Red is out for the season, we should definitely sign him…

  527. Gunnersmith says:

who said 8 million were at bernabeu naaah it’s 80000

  528. Rohan says:

you got to love his name though..
Ruben the Red for the ARSENAL

  529. zorr0 says:

Ruben the Red is fucked! He collapsed and they cannot find out why!

  530. Rohan says:

why dont we ever do anything like that? it really is pretty boring to be an arsenal fan during the off season….

  531. Stu says:

Why dont we ever do anything like what?

Im going to assume you mean unveiling players like Madrid are doing and i agree. All we ever get is a couple of shite photos on Arse.com. Wheres the fucking excitement ffs!

  532. Rohan says:

i do feel sorry for the guy..that has got to be one of the worst things that could happen…not being able to do anything because of not knowing what exactly was wrong…

  533. Rohan says:

yea stu exactly..the mos we got was arshavin coming out in the fucking snow telling us that pavlyuchenko was not his friend…

  534. Baxter Wall says:

Imagine the Emirates full to witness a new player paraded? Neither can I.

  535. Baxter Wall says:

Instead we’ll sign Chama-lacka-ding-dong or whatever his name is and all that will be there to witness it will be his mum, his Gran and the candid camera crew.

  536. Stu says:

Im amazed the club dont do unveilings because its another way to squeeze money out of the fans.

  537. Baxter Wall says:

Fuck i’d even pay and go watch if it meant we were signing someone i’d heard of for a change.

  538. A says:

We’ve got class – what madrid are doing is a joke, people laugh at them because of it, and we’d never do it because we’re above it! We’re a football club, not a circus

  539. Baxter Wall says:

No we just have no vision and no ambition. 4 rate team full of 4th rate players at the moment.

  540. Stu says:

Say what you want A, but having a stadium full of fans to welcome a new player would be great, I hate the shitty photos on arse.com of him holding the shirt.

  541. Baxter Wall says:

We’d fill the stadium to wave Ade and Eboue off though!

  542. Stu says:

Ade maybe, not Eboue tho. He has lost some haters lately.

  543. Baxter Wall says:

    Adebayoooor Adebayooooooorrrr
Don’t get hit on the arse by the dooooooorrr.

  544. A says:

Nah bollocks, organising it like that is show-business, not football, they’re like the McDonalds of the football world, we’re like an exclusive independant restaurant. Fuck the flashing lights and fireworks, I’d rather have a football club with class than turn the club into something like that, obsessed with signing big names so they can unveil them like that, obsessed with showing off. It’s a matter of principle, and we’re at different ends of the spectrum, and the respectable end.

  545. ManGoonian says:

Why the fuck didnt we get Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and Elton John to write a pop opera to commemerate the signing of vermaellen???

    Killjoys…

  546. Baxter Wall says:

    Mangoonian – i read a lot of Arsenal blogs….

  547. Baxter Wall says:

    What’s wrong with a bit of a show A?

  548. ManGoonian says:

Wow, you sad fuckers must buy all those celeb magazines as well, I take it. The way you are completely overawed at the circus that is Real madrid…

    Big girls blouses….

Have you seen Jordans new kitchen??? Its gorgeous…

  549. ManGoonian says:

But can you read em without having to move your lips tho???

    Hmmmm, tricky one eh?

  550. Pedro says:

No Mang… but i’ve seen your new emoticon… where did you get that bad boy from?

  551. goonermichael says:

    Everybody happy in goonerland again?

  552. Baxter Wall says:

If some fans want that and will pay for it, why not give them it? We all like a bit of a show, Real Madrid have just signed one of the best players in the world, what is wrong with celebrating it?

  553. A says:

It’s for the benefit of all the celeb gossip magazine reading football equivalents Baxter. Give me actual quality and content over showiness and superficiality anyday.

  554. ManGoonian says:

    Pedro;

    I learnt everything I knoew from Stu…

  555. Pedro says:

What is that in it’s mouth… it looks like a whistle!

  556. A says:

Not all of us like a bit of show Baxter, I certainly don’t! Celebrate when you win something, not when you sign someone. It sums up what Madrid are all about desperately trying to sign the most high profile people so they can have the fireworks and such like. I’d much rather concentrate on the football side of things.

  557. Baxter Wall says:

right A so, we know you wouldn’t go along if we bought say Messi. Plenty would though. Why deprive them of it just because it offends your delicate sensibilities?

  558. ManGoonian says:

Celebrating the fact they have spent the equivalent of the gross national product of a small country is NOTHING to celebrate…

Its fucking obscene and I just hiope it all goes tits up…

  559. Stu says:

They are all new ones for some reason.   etc etc

  560. Baxter Wall says:

Its like saying theres nothing i want to watch on tele so i’m going to hide the remote control so no-one can watch ‘owt.

  561. zorr0 says:

GM, some want a circus as we announce we have signed a player!

  562. Baxter Wall says:

Fine Mangoonian, you and A sit in the corner sulking about filthy commerce and the rest of us would go and have a right party if we signed Messi!

  563. ManGoonian says:

    A;

The fact that Barca swept up last season means Real have to try and steal the limelight and appear to get one over their rivals… hence this sad show and thefact that in return, barca are having to try and appease their fans by saying they are signing Villa, Arshavin and Cesc, of course…

  564. zorr0 says:

Baxter, we’d be there to see the player do what he is paid for, i.e. win games, not ponce around like the bearded lady!

  565. Stu says:

I dont want a circus or anything like that. But just some photos on arse.com is a bt of a let down imo.

Somewhat like buying a new car but not letting anyone see it, just shwing then a photo.

  566. Pedro says:

Jeez… give the guy a break… he just spunked £80million on a player… I’d want to put on a show as well!

I’d have him do more than just walk round… I’d have him doing hand stands a break dancing…

  567. ManGoonian says:

Fuck Messi, I want Coco and the Bearded lady…

But, will there be ice cream there when we sign Sponge Bob Square pants?

  568. Baxter Wall says:

If all you care about is the games, why blog then Zorro? ISn’t being a fan about the whole enchilada? The rumours, the signings, the fallouts? Shall we sit in silence till the new season starts?

  569. ManGoonian says:

Well, if you like naff, over the top shallow meaningless glitzy bollocks…

Then, fair enough, I think its all kinda gay…

  570. Baxter Wall says:

Exactly Pedro! You in for the Messi Party?

  571. A says:

It’s the principle Baxter – people should be trying to win things, and subsequently celebrating upon achieving success.

Not trying to sign players just to make the headlines, and celebrating signing said players before he’s even kicked a ball.

  572. zorr0 says:

I’d like Ronaldo to do some break dancing, how about the electric boogaloo, preferably attached to a high voltage pylon!

  573. Baxter Wall says:

Fucking love it Mangoonian. Especially if it meant we’d got some top players in red and white.

  574. Pedro says:

Baxter, don’t worry about MG and A… they are kill joys.

Watching 80,000 people enjoy the spectacle of a new signing that much is fantastic.

Our fans wouldn’t get that excited if Barcelona were coming to town!

I think it’s great that people are passionate enough ahout their club to turn up in their droves to watch a player unveiling.

  575. ManGoonian says:

    What??? No jugglers??

Poor fucking show, where’s the magic tricks?

Pedro; That old twat aint spunked a bean, he’s been bank rolled by the Spanish banks…

  576. Stu says:

Well maybe its the not winning anything that makes me want to see the player at the stadium being unveiled.

If we had something else to parade then i would be fine without te “circus”.

  577. Baxter Wall says:

I’m glad they ain’t at our party then!

  578. Pedro says:

Baxter count me in… Mang and A will be sitting on the radiators round the side while we party.

  579. A says:

I’ll celebrate every goal a player scores, every game a team wins, and go to any testimonial of a player who’s served the club for a long time.

I won’t celebrate a player before he’s kicked a ball for the club, just because he’s a big name – in my eyes that’s ridiculous, and pathetic, and I’m VERY glad our club doesn’t do it!

This has NOTHING to do with football, it’s part of the celebrity culture that’s taken over so many people in the western world, and unfortunately infiltrating football more and more

  580. zorr0 says:

Baxter, at the end of the day, it is about the clock moving from 3 to 4:45.

What RM are having Ronaldo do is embarrasing and no one looks it more than him!

  581. ManGoonian says:

    Pedro;

But you like reading Hello magazine and watching Big brother… You old tart!

  582. Baxter Wall says:

At least their old twats go get some money! We’ve got two freaking billionaires on our board and we don’t ever get a reason to break out the party poppers!

  583. Pedro says:

He’s gearing up for a break away… just like the rest of the oligarchs…

Then when it happens… cheer leaders and fireworks every week.

    Brilliant news!

  584. ManGoonian says:

If shallow empty gestures are your thing, then go ape shit crazy… Bit like how the spuds do, every close season… Or the geordie sheep…

  585. Baxter Wall says:

Besides its good business. Some of you must work in business don’t you ever launch new products, create a bit of a buzz?

  586. Pedro says:

Mang, I’m watching two wales have sex on tele right now.

    I’m learning…

Wales can have old boys as large as 3metres…. and testicles that weigh a tonne…

However, if I am seeing someone, and they have a magazine… I will look through it critiquing every page as I go…

    Standard man practice.

  587. ManGoonian says:

FFS! I dont even wanna imagine pedro and Baxter partying…. Couple of oldqueens, flouncin about, getting down to take That….

  588. Stu says:

If we had a trophy ir 3 to celebrate then all would be well but we have had nothing to celebrate for 4 years now. Its depressing never being that happy. Winning games , progressing in cups etc is one thing but nothing compares to celebrating winning some silverware.

  589. Pedro says:

A, don’t blame celebrity culture… people have been using it to flog products since the twenties.

They’ve just got mediums to do it with now…

  590. ManGoonian says:

    Stu;

My heart bleeds for you, no, seriously, it is bleedin, all over the cat as we speak… can someone call an abulance?

  591. Pedro says:

A… you wish it was like that… me and baxter would be nicking birds like nobodies business… you’d be moaning about the noise! ;-)

  592. Baxter Wall says:

And Zorro and Man-goo (uuurrrghhh!) sitting there eating there pork scratchings in their cardingans moaning about progress.

  593. Stu says:

Well thank god its only a cat. Good think its not a dog….not that would be mean.

  594. Pedro says:

    Ahh… new emoticons.

We should celebrate with an unveiling ceremony… I’ll invite 15,000 Grovers to it!

  595. zorr0 says:

Baxter, you raise a good point about creating a buzz over a new ‘product’, but we are talking a footballer, not a new razor! There are ways of creating enthusiasm without resorting to that crap!

  596. Baxter Wall says:

I’m having Messi’s bird first Pedro. Hope you don’t mind stirring another mans porridge.

You might want to pass on that.

  597. Pedro says:

So… Kaka didn’t get an unveiling then?

You’d be pretty gutted after a costing £56mill.

If I were a Madrid fan… I’d be more excited about him joining.

  598. Pedro says:

Baxter… there are enough to go round…!

  599. Pedro says:

Zorro… he has to make back £80million. He isn’t just a footballer… he is a product as well.

  600. Baxter Wall says:

Ronaldo will be news the world over tonight. Every “undecided” kid will be transfixed. That becomes shirts sold and merchandise shifted. Flashy product launchs shift products.

Arsenal are stuck in the ’30 as regards business.

  601. Pedro says:

Baxter, I’m sure Gazidis will bring his own bit of Disney to Arsenal… he’s supposed to be a bit of a marketing guru.

  602. zorr0 says:

lol, MG and I would be nicking the birds off you lot once they realised you thought Clitoris was either a Greek island or the name of Beckham’s new kid!

  603. Baxter Wall says:

I hope he doesn’t hire Mangoo and Zorro for the launch Pedro!

  604. Pedro says:

Zorro, real men don’t care where the clitoris is.

  605. Pedro says:

Baxter… the launch would be on arse.com three weeks late!

  606. ManGoonian says:

    Zorro;

That was funny as fuck!

  607. zorr0 says:

Baxter, no he is not a product. He is a footballer. A man who was blessed with extraordinary talent, but no more than that. He is not a neurosurgeon saving lives, or a squaddie risking his life for fuck nows what in Helmland, just a bloke who can kick a ball very well.

He fucked Paris Hilton, need I say more.

  608. Pedro says:

Did Alonso join the Madrid circus?

  609. zorr0 says:

Pedro, is that because you’d be too busy finding each other’s G Spot!!!!

  610. Pedro says:

    Who hasn’t Zorro!

He is a product… he is there to generate big money and big success. He’ll be marketing everything for the next 4 years… That’s why they’ve over hyped this unveiling… a sign of things to come.

  611. Pedro says:

    Again Zorro… I don’t know what a G spot is… I don’t want to know.

Get the job done and move on with the ladies.

  612. Pedro says:

Milan in for Hunter and Fabiano… no move for Ade then.

  613. Baxter Wall says:

Are you some sort of pinko commie Zorro?

  614. zorr0 says:

lol, Pietro, You can save a lot of time and energy if you know where and how to concentrate your efforts!

  615. Stu says:

We should be in for Hunter. Just release Ade…

  616. zorr0 says:

    lol, BW, what the fuck?

  617. Baxter Wall says:

Your version of Zorro probably din’t bother with the cape or the mask or the Z sword signature. Just some guy that blends into a crowd.

    And never parties!

  618. Baxter Wall says:

Well all that stuff and heart surgeons reminded me of the question you got asked at school..why doesn’t a bin man get paid the same as a businessman

  619. arsenal fella says:

Fiorentina have reached an agreement with Juventus for the joint ownership of midfielder Marco Marchionni.

Marchionni will now play for the Viola next season, provided he can agree personal terms, after the two clubs struck an accord.

Reports in Italy suggest that Juve could now open negotiations with their Serie A rivals in a bid to bring Felipe Melo in the opposite direction.

The Brazil international, who has also been linked with a switch to Arsenal, insists he is happy at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina have also confirmed the signing of defender Cesare Natali from Torino.

  620. zorr0 says:

BW, you don’t get a nickname like Zorro without being an expert swordsman! And you don’t get the chance to use your sword by standing in the background!

  621. Stu says:

Identity theft? Am i right Baxter.

  622. Baxter Wall says:

Wave your sword somewhere else buddy!

  623. zorr0 says:

lol, you guys. Off for a while, but the flashing blade will return!

  624. Baxter Wall says:

    Eh Stu?

  625. ManGoonian says:

    Zorr0;

Easy there fella, you’ll have someone’s eye out…

  626. ManGoonian says:

    Stu;

You are way too deep man…

  627. Stu says:

It was a cheeky quess at answering your question. Apparently i was wrong.

  628. Stu says:

    *guess…

    Thanks much MG.

  629. Pedro says:

Zorro… saving time isn’t a problem when you have premature ejaculation!

    Just kidding… I’m pure stud.

Right, off to buy my copy of hello and watch some big brother!

    Happy blogging!

  630. Baxter Wall says:

That went past me like a ronaldo free kick past aluminia!!

  631. ManGoonian says:

  632. Pedro says:

MG, you keep poor Stu on the back foot all the time… he shows you his emoticons and you give him nothing…

  633. ManGoonian says:

Enjoy the 12 page spread about Peter and Jordans divorce pedro…

  634. ManGoonian says:

    Pedro;

I told ya, Stu is the man…

  635. Stu says:

He is like a closed book Pedro.

  636. Stu says:

    erm…………

  637. ManGoonian says:

    A closed pamphlet…

  638. ManGoonian says:

    Stu;

Have you listened to the track I posted?

  639. Stu says:

    Nope…..

  640. ManGoonian says:

  648. Baxter Wall says:

I hope Geoff gives it a proper rant about Real Madrids marketing machine vs ours today! I’m looking forward to a full on blog hairdryer in AFC’s direction!

  649. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Baxter, you won’t be dissappointed today, some of our feeder blogs may though!

    Morning all….

  654. gooner-pak says:

and does any of english club has done this sort of marketing

  655. dennisdamenace says:

    WTF 8O

  656. tonyadamsisgod says:

    Slow slow morning, hey!

So let me just say that Real Madrid fans have possibly found the only way left to inflate Ronaldo’s ego even more! I mean for fuck sake people, storming the stage to get to him?? Get a grip, its football, you paid £80m and he’ll be half the footballer and double the celebrity now that he isn’t under Fergie! You mark my words, we have seen the best of Ronaldo by a long way and I would imagine Madrid fans will soon realise that their best player turns out to be Kaka by a country mile!

  657. tonyadamsisgod says:

Arsenal FC Blog are doing a guest post today! Geoff, didn’t you guys copyright that idea?

  658. Mayank says:

I know TAIG made me want to puke seeing Ronaldo ‘strut his stuff’. Also lets see how many Rooneys he gets in RM who are ready to suppress their talents for his.

  659. dennisdamenace says:

    They’ve fucking ruined the smileys!!!!

  660. Franchise says:

  661. tonyadamsisgod says:

Mayank – I know mate, like I said, he’ll be half the player and live double the party life style….

  662. Franchise says:

Guys i reckon Ronaldo would go on stronger. he is a very committed athlete. committment + talent = success

he looks like a partying animal but words from OT say that he was the hardest worker in training and that he did a lot of personal training when everyone else had gone home

  663. dennisdamenace says:

Yo Mungler, you available this Friday for some Bingo Bango Bongo?

  664. Mayank says:

    Commitment + talent + co-workers’ commitment = success
    commitment + talent + co-workers’ egos = partay!

  665. Franchise says:

ill be in london at about 7pm mungler is that too late???

  666. Cartman says:

    Chocolate Griddlecakes

  667. Franchise says:

Mayank dont waste ur energy hating on the lad. the guy is class and with other classy players around him he would look better. ronaldo has played with other world class players @ united and never had any publicised problems with any1. it wld be the same at Madrid IMO. as slimy as he looks he is a gentleman. So is Kaka. i definitely would be watching more la liga next season.

    Barca’s trinity vs Madrid’s

  668. Pedro says:

    NEW POST!

  669. tonyadamsisgod says:

Fergie played a big part in Ronaldo’s commitment and we all know about his distain for the celebrity lifestyle hence Beckham leaving OT. There will be no such restraint at Real Madrid where all you here about is players hitting the town, drinking loads and going home with a different girl every night! There aint nout wrong with that but it is a problem for a footballer!

  670. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Fran

So probably did ade, until he started to believe his own hype. Anyway, as for Ronaldo, outa sight outa mind IMO. I never watch that sterile comp they call La Liga.
