It does get tedious, constantly listening to ‘Cesc will go stories’ he has said a gazillion times that he is going nowhere and he loves Arsenal, he would have Xavi and Iniesta ahead of him in the pecking order, so why would that interest him, but the stories still go on.

Like the manager, there is no one bigger than Arsenal football club, so if he goes, so be it, but we need to have our ducks lined up in two weeks or we will struggle next season, my guess? Cesc will be an Arsenal player for at least the next 2 years possibly 4.
What is clear to me though is Arsenal have got to show these players that a contract is a contract, I mean what on earth is the point in bragging that we have signed all these young players on long term contracts if they can just leave when a better offer comes in? It’s plane stupid.
I still think we should spend the money on a big star should we lose Ade, there is no point in keep bringing in potential, he needs to be replaced with a world class player, whether that is a David Villa or a Winger like Ashley Young or David Silva or that midfield monster that’s out there somewhere.
I know Lorik Cana isn’t highly rated in blog land, but I think he’s the type of player we need, he wouldn’t get so many cards in the EPL and to me he is a mixture of Edu, Vieiera and Flamini, now that can’t be all bad can it?
Finally I understand from sources close to Werder Bremen that we have almost signed centre back Naldo, but what was interesting is his full name is Ronaldo Aparecido Rodrigues, which means we could have finally signed a big name player, nice one Arsene! Really though, I would love to have this guy in the team.

Earlier in the window, i had a sneaky feeling that Cesc might go this summer, however looking now, I dont think he will at all.
Barca will respond to the madness at Real, but their targets are Mascherano and Villa. They dont have the money for Cesc.
What they are doing though is grooming him. Their tactics are to continue to unsettle Cesc and make him feel like he is wanted at Barca and I am sure he is, but not this year.
Barca know that despite Cesc being on a long contract, but one that will be a year closer to expiry next summer. They also know that the going rate might not be as mad as it is this year, and they also probably know about any gentlemans agreement that may exist between Cesc and Arsene, and I reckon he will go next summer and unfortunately on the cheap.

Arsenal have been given fresh hope of signing Felipe Melo despite the Brazil midfielder recently signing a new contract at Fiorentina.
The Gunners are reported to be interested in the 25-year-old defensive midfielder, but any potential approach looked to have been scuppered after he signed a contract extension which ties him to the Italian club until 2013 earlier in the week.
However, Melo’s agent, Claudio Pasqualin, believes his client could still be on the move this summer.
Internazionale and AC Milan have both also been linked to the international midfielder.
“Melo’s transfer is quite possible,” claimed Pasqualin.
“After all, the buy-out clause of 25million euros is accessible and if it was valid straight away I think that someone would think seriously about it.
“Felipe Melo is definitely sought after even though this is a similar transfer market to the previous years because of the economic crisis.”
Melo moved to Italy a year ago, having previously played in Spain with Almeria, Racing Santander and Real Mallorca.

I think we should also put in a bid for m.Diarra, Robben and Shneider as I have said before while we are going for Brede and Young, let go of Silvestre, Adebayor and Eboue.
Unfortunately look at the team the way it is and it is hard to see us adding players at the moment as these are the players for each position acording to Arsene in their pecking order:

So that is our team the way the players are listed by Arsenal (GK,D,M,A) and then me sticking those players to their more natural positions.
of course Song is probably a midfielder to us and Eboue holds the free role well although he is best at RB, Walcott has been playing in midfield and as for Diaby who knows where he can play.
As you can see we have no natural wingers for the left side and on the right young Jack is our only Natural so either we play 4-3-3 or we have to buy a couple of wingers for a change and this is in the knowledge that Wenger likes to play no.10′s on the wings
Yeah freduardo, i’m not sure hazard would be likely, never know though. Attacking players are certainly not a priority, but if he’s THAT good then Wenger could be tempted
They aren’t told to do anything Geoff…. You’d be surprised at how detached the website is from the club. I know the bloke who does the Chelsea one, and it’s basically an independant website, 90% of the articles, the player profiles etc are just done by him and his work buddies, without any interference from the club. The only times the club dictate to the website are when they make official press releases or statements, and obviously they interview players at the club and get given photos of new signings and such like, but the content of the website is almost all their own doing.
I’m 99.9% certain wenger doesn’t sit down and tell the Arsenal website people what position players should be set at!
With that I would probably line up with this next year, if all stays the same and we do not sign nor release players.
