White kit is revealed, Melo is gone enter Cana? Or will it be Nasri?

New Kit

Ok so it’s now official, Melo is not coming to Arsenal, but I have to say I’m pleased, I had never seen him and all I had read said he wasn’t that great, Cana has always been my first choice, outside of bringing the flamster home, but that will never happen and I know a lot of you don’t like him for jumping ship, so back to Cana.

I don’t believe in stats, I trust my eyes, as I have said many times before a player can have the most completed passes in football, but if they all go backwards, or to a player with three defenders on his back, then those stats are irrelevant, Lorik Cana is a leader, a tough tackler and one who will defend his mates with his life, we don’t have one of those and since Gilberto and Flamini went we have lacked that grit, so for me what he lacks in completed passes, assists and goal, he makes up for with the enforcer and leader tags, and we need both.

Whether or not he is on Wenger’s radar is another thing, I hope so because I’m getting bored with waiting for that Swan to arrive.

The only home ‘growner’ I would accept is if Diaby had put on a stone and learnt how to defend or if Nasri has bulked up, because I think Nasri can defend well, he tracks back a lot, I also like the thought of him and Cesc in the middle as I have often said we don’t necessarily need a DM, so Nasri would be somewhere in the middle of having one and not, if that makes any sense.

Denilson and Song though aren’t ready yet, so Cana is still my preferred choice to partner Cesc.

Talking of Swans, Arsenal have unveiled the new third kit, which I have to say I quite like, well initially anyway, if the club are going to rip me off some more, it may as well be for a shirt that doesn’t make me look like a thug, or more of a thug whichever way you look at it! (kidding by the way)

Not quite sure I understand the logic of a third kit as we didn’t use one at all last season, well not that I can remember anyway.

So we finally got shot of the gamble that was Bischcoff, what a waste of time that was, who suggested we brought him over, who told Wenger he was talented??? He was okay, but to be bought injured? Go figure!

I think we have a large squad now, we just lack some key players, hopefully he will sign Cana and a defender, but hopefully he will sell problem child Adebayor, I really cannot understand why he is acting like a victim and Wenger is siding with him. He says we shouldn’t believe what the papers say and it’s not his fault Milan were after him. Oh and of course the mandatory ‘ I love this club’

Bollocks, you love yourself, we saw the Sky interview where you were pledging loyalty one minute and saying you would talk to Milan the next, then you demanded a huge rise and you got it. Then you have a shit season, mmm, perhaps there’s something in why the fans don’t like you anymore. And I will never forget you headbutting a young Bendtner, you horrible arrogant bully, that was cowardly, headbutting is like spitting. How’s this for a new song them -

‘Adebayor, Adebayor, we’ve had enough, so show him the door’

So to sum up, you are no victim, you have brought this upon yourself, there is no place for you in our hearts anymore, so go.

If we could get anywhere near £25mil for him, then we could add £5mil and sign Arsenal lover Benzema, that would be awesome and Arsene, the fans would love you even more for it, that combined with buying Cana would show real intent, it would show teams like ManU that money isn’t everything and your footballing philosophy counts for something, him and Robin would be so exciting to watch going at goal.

I had someone come on yesterday asking me why I didn’t post his comment, well this was his previous comment so I thought I would share it with you.

This site is bare shit!!!
You’re a mug mate!!!
SHITTY SITE

And he even put Shitty in caps! And then they wonder why I put them into moderation, odd aren’t they??? Even more pathetic is the fact that the poster of this comment owns their own site that posts 15 rehashed stories a day.

Anyway I have a feeling we will sell big Phil, but if we don’t replace him with a big monster of a centre half I would keep him and sell Silvestre. I would still go for swapping Eboue for Sakho plus cash because we know that next year if Sackho steps up Madrid will have him for £25mil. That and Wenger has Eboue down next year as a right winger again and we all know that doesn’t work.

We are now in July and have what, 17 shopping days left to Christmas, well Christmas to us of course because the 18th sees the return of pre-season, I can’t wait, go on Santa, get us some quality presents now, please!

Have a great day Grovers.

I tend to avoid getting names and numbers because that player might leave or change their number. They the shirt is ruined!

  2. ReVELAtion

i agree stu, but i never gets numbers on home shirts unless it’s bergkamp 10 and always get numbers on the away shirt after the 1st game of the season…

  3. redbearer

Out of the 2… if I really had to chose I would go with the 3rd but imo you can’t beat the collarless 70′s V neck retro look! But what am I saying at least we didn’t have designers which opted for the hideous Man U and Chav shirts.. Lmao they really are grim from the outrageous V on the Manc shirt to the zipped neck on the Chav body suited wank fit edition… so I suppose we ought to be grateful lol :D

Stu – my favourite shirt is the 05-06 red currant top with bergkamp on the back. i will probably end up cutting it in half around the seams and then framing it – back and front – you’ll never get one of those again my friend!

Its been a while since Le Grove topped the 1000 mark, so I have come out of my break early to get the momentum back.

  7. gnarleygeorge9

Has anyone moved closer to signing “overnight”. Cana? Is he any closer to putting on the red & white strip.

I prefer the strip that the ’71 team had, i.e Charlie to the right there.

what you reckon about viduka coming back into the team for the world cup, im not so sure, he’s never really scored any important goals for the socceroos?

  9. gnarleygeorge9

Real shit me too. Yet Blatter has come out & said he wants to curb PL spending. What the hell is going on in Blatters head?

Viduka could be passed it. I think the untapped asset for The Roos is Scott McDonald. He has a goal of 2 in him, & they could just come during the World Cup Finals.

  10. Evo in Oz

yeah i think he is frustrated that he hasnt got a goal on the board for us, but it will come!

fuck madrid, hope they go out of the CL in the QF or something, just to fuck them over!

FIFA president Sepp Blatter is still trying to find a way of curbing the Premier League’s spending power.

Although the indications are Manchester City will fail in their efforts to lure Samuel Eto’o away from Barcelona, Blatter remains deeply troubled at the migration of talent to England.

It could be pointed out Real Madrid are the ones who have done the big spending this summer, twice smashing the world transfer fee record, first to buy Kaka, then Cristiano Ronaldo, who will cost an amazing £80million from Manchester United.

However, Blatter views the method of owning clubs in England as inherently unsatisfactory, putting the Premier League at an advantage compared to their major European counterparts.

“There are big associations, like France, Germany and Spain where there is a by-law that the owners of the club must be at least 51% from the club,” said Blatter. “They must be members of the club or partners from the same country. This does not exist in the Premier League and it is a problem we have to address.”

Yet Blatter is currently at a loss as to how exactly he will achieve his aims, given UK law will not be changed to implement the same ownership rules that exist in other countries.

“We have no right to interfere in economic movements,” he admitted. “We, the whole FIFA family, is aware of this. We have spoken before about financial fair play. Financial fair play is not only a licensing system and financing control but financing fair play means also that all participants should observe a minimum of fair play.”

Blatter’s comments are unlikely to have much of an effect on City’s summer recruitment drive.

HAHA! Just read Wrighty7s Blog. Some slut commented trying to “seduce” Wrighty! “Cock my ass” were her chosen words. He is yet to reply tho.
    Fucking classic!!!

septic you stupid stupid man !!

“There are big associations, like France, Germany and Spain where there is a by-law that the owners of the club must be at least 51% from the club
    ——————————————–

yes there are laws here that say everything must be 51 % thai owned too !

and no thai can afford that …
so corruption and under the table money
is a result of its culture to achieve this 51 %..
because foreign ownership will still happen,
”illegally’ you cannot stop the wheels of progress , and i would look at your precious Spain prior to wondering why the British pound is such an attraction to football players ….

and i would argue that with kaka over in Spain and Rolando gone from British shores that real Madrid and Barca are back in the drivers seat and the status quo returned to world football.

Italian football hasnt been the same since the bribing alligations , and the bunders liga was always a reasonable place to find talent but bayern always dominated the league and still does ?! so what is he saying ?

and the orange french league or what ever its name is , is on par with the german league .

i think world football is to a lesser degree back on track ..

and if you want to look at foreign players in a team look no further than barca and real !

After reading all that Le Gaz had to say, here’s the best advice I can give to myself and to all Arsenal fans.

    1. Forget silverware for the next three years. Enjoy the games. Live in the moment. We have gone long periods without silverware in the past and these seven years will not hurt us.

    2. Be assured that the economy will recover, we will sell the Highbury flats and we will become a club that is a real contender for silverware.

    3. In Arsene, Gazidis and Fiszke, we have true leaders of business and in them, we should trust.

Of course, I might be dead in the next three years, and the silverware we are challenging for may be in the Europa Cup, or worse, in the Championship, but, hey, it’s silverware.

  15. gnarleygeorge9

Blatters salary cap style would more likely be. All leagues, apart from the Spanish, are capped.

  16. ethangunner

quite simply the more rules you add to transfers
the more people will find inventive ways to get around it …

we invented the game so if people have problems
with the EPL’s domination of the game at long last well all i can say is go fuck yourselves :)

in the nicest possible way of course .

this prick is motivated by other countries and continents remaining competitive inparticularly Europe ..

he obviously wishes Europe was not unified , the Neanderthal knuckle dragging Cnut…..

thats progress, get over yourself !

I always have issues with stats myself as well. You will get a defensive midfielder that passes that the ball astray whenever its at their feet. They are obliged to run and tackle again! leaving them with seemingly beautiful stats but born out of failure to pass accurately.
As much as a goalie with 99 consecutive clean sheets. Surely if you have the reigning world footballer in attack and co playing a club thats not valued as much as one of your players, then keeping clean sheets shud go without saying coz indeed you are in different galospheres. But come on to the scene, you short genuine skilful Argentinian talent and when the clean sheets stats shud count, the alleged solid defence is left impressed as all of us are as the ball goes into their net and we all ask ourselves whether the stats on clean sheets really matter if when it matters most you arent the same bullies on the pitch.

The only thing of substance going on over here fella is the chunky toast with marmite i’m munching my way through this morning….

    Chamon Gnarley ;)

Welcome aboard skwam, you are now free to blog.

Morning all, another day of frustration no doubt ahead.

Hey geoff. Do u think Arsene thinks this courting our signings is Foreplay – and likes streching it for as long as possible :|
