Gibbs fires us to the European Cup final and Theo, trust the force.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

That does have a nice sound to it does it not? and it was true, only it was Ingerland and not Arsenal, but Keiran Gibbs did indeed take the penalty that put us through against the dogged Swedes. You have to say we saw flashes of brilliance in Theo but mostly he was quiet, Gibbs though is growing with every game, Gibbs reminds me of Clichy when Cole was often injured, he is knocking on the door.

Fear not though Clichy is still the man and we need 2 world class players in every position to get us through next season, and Gibbs can always play on the wing if needed.

When people talk all that shit about most improved player this season, Gibbs wins that by a country mile.

All these home grown quotas are bollocks really because reading between the lines you only have to go through the academy to qualify, so players like Coquelin, Merida and Fabregas already do and given the dearth of Brits we have already we won’t have to worry about that little rule, Simpson, Murphy, Lansbury, Wilshere, JET, Ramsey the list goes on.

It’s one of the reasons Wenger likes to stock up his youth larder, but as we have said before we still need some older players and thats why I don’t think he’s going to sell Adebayor. I still think there will be another centre back, I hope Zapata and then he will let one go and I hope that is Silvestre, and I still cling onto the hope he will bring in a defensive midfielder, though the more I read about Melo, the more I go off him, but as I say, I still haven’t really seen enough of him to comment.

I would even be happy if we traded Eboue plus cash for Sackho, Eboue wants out, we need a centre back, why not? Get on it Ivan, you know it makes sense. Don’t buy Bassong though, he’s not that good, really he’s not.

Finally on the defence, and I know this may sound silly but with Sol Campbell available on a free, wouldn’t he be more useful at the back than Silvestre?

I read Tottenham are after Cana, now that would seriously piss me off if we let that one get away, almost as much as it pissed me off watching ex-Arsenal defensive midfielder Fabrice Muamba running the show last night against Sweden.

You all know I have long championed Muamba, he is English, 6’4″ a powerhouse, with a ripper of a shot, Wenger sold him because he said he wanted first team football so he had to let him go, piffle, he sold him because he wanted you-know-who to play instead, big mistake boss, I hope you were watching last night.

If you let players go because they wanted to, then why is Adebayor still here irritating us?

I have often argued with Pedro about Muamba, well Pedro, I hope you watched the Ingerland game from your piss ridden tent at Glastonbury last night and vomited your cheap cider over the bloke you are sharing with when you marveled over the talent we let go last night.

If we had kept Muamba, we wouldn’t be scouring the bargain basement world of defensive midfielders now, as we would have what we need already.

I expect if we have to wait for a youngster to emerge now it would be Coquelin, I rate that kid though and maybe he’ll be worth the wait, I wonder if Jay Thomas could work that role, I’m not sure if he’s not too similar to Diaby though.

The only good thing about this side is they will be a little older and a little stronger next season and 2 or 3 players may just do a Flamini and turn into swans, if they do I really, really, will be delighted, but if they don’t it has to be time for Wenger to give up the ghost and get rid.

I wonder if J Simpson will feature this season, he has Senderos, Bishcoff and Silvestre on the first team sheet but no Simpson, why have we still got Bischoff, he only made one appearance last term and Senderos, who he tried to sell? It makes no sense to me, it does explain why we have no money though, I guess we still pay their salaries.

Interestingly though he has Song down as a defender and Eboue down as a midfielder, mmmmmm!

A message to Theo, Theo I now guess you’ll get your wish of playing down the middle, I would think Stuart Pearce may well play Rodwell and Muamba together to make up for the lack of front men and play you as the lone striker, you need to let your instincts take over, feel the force, forget what Arsenal have taught you (no shots allowed outside the box) and think of what Thierry did, shoot on sight, let rip when you have a chance and you will score, if you score then we will win and you will then begin to fulfill your destiny, and my prediction, that one day you will be the worlds finest player.

Theo let the force be with you!

Have a great day today Grovers, tomorrow it’s Ethan!

“I put down a lot of Jackson’s weirdness to his father who pardon my french seemed a complete bollix. What kind of man beats up a five year old for not dancing right and tells him he’s ugly. He never had a chance.”

I said “a lot” not “all”.

No I don’t think he had too much of a chance of being so-called “normal” when he was pressed into the limelight at 5 and beaten to perform well, isn’t that what they do at the zoo with elephants?

I couldn’t care less whether you admire him or not. I do and have no problem admitting that, he had an extreme talent for music.

In regards to him being a pervert that is a different story and I don’t in any way condone what he may have done which you seem to think I do.

All I was saying about the parents of the second boy was why would anyone in their right mind let their kid stay over night in a house with a man who had been accused of such a horrible thing.

I’ll leave it at but I’ll not let it be said that I condone such behaviour.

Stu; You know Im only jokin with ya buddy! BUT, I was gonna type sumfin to answer your query, but i really wanna leave it now dude…

  3. Stu

Good idearrr Mangoonian. Lets stop all this tomfoolery!

Back to football. Niang aint an option because he is near 30 and not that great.
    BENDTNER is the answer! FACT!

  4. Geoff

Ok Irish you have now said that 3 times, time to move on.

I don’t admire anyone who sleeps with 8 year olds, whatever their music, if you do that’s up to you.

I don’t want to debate him anymore this is a football site.

    Dutchman Says:
    June 27, 2009 at 17:18

I think also he can score 20+goals
    ————————————
I can imagine you saying that line with a proper Dutch akshent man!

  6. Honest Bill

I think Bendtner could get 20+ for us. But he needs a good run in the side, and probably a strike partner to do so. But if he is confident enough, he has the ability for sure

  7. ManGoonian

Bendy and vela, or bendy and Eduardo would work for me, but we aint playing 2 up top anymore are we???

  8. Honest Bill

Wenger said he would play the formation to fit the situation. So we can infer what we like from that.

Bendtner and Vela always seem to link well. I would like to see them combine

  9. Geoff

Bill I think he means he doesn’t know who will be fit and he has a lot of players to choose from, so he’ll change his team a lot as he has a fair few players if all fit!

  10. ManGoonian

Well, I took it to mean that we will be playign a new formation or 2. As it suits the players better. Thoe, for instance may well be played further up the pitch in a 3 pronged attack just behind the lone striker… Or maybe, Im talkin shizen???

    You decide…

  11. Honest Bill

Geoff. Yeah you’re probably right there. There is an ‘embarrassment of riches’ as far as attacking options go. So i think we will see many different combos. Not sure if i’m entirely pleased about that though. We all know the effectiveness of continuity in a side. But having said that. I would rather that than having too few options

  12. Stu

Thats why im asking. Im trying to vary it all.

So far i have KOL, Abba, Beatles, Queen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lilly Allen, MGMT etc etc. No trend what so ever.

can’t compare here and Northern Cyprus. this is an all year round place, nothing closes, and the weather is warmer than cyprus in the winter and cyprus literally closes down for 6 months a year.

Language can be a problem here but not in marbella and i presume most speak english in Cyprus.

  27. Honest Bill

Samir, yeah he showed great composure for both goals, definitely one to look out for. I was disappointed that he didn’t get more games last season with the first team

  28. leon

English First Division Top 5 Marathon Table:
    1888/1889 – 2008/2009:

(Games played, Games won, Games drawn, Games lost, Goals scored, Goals conceaded & Points)

Note that this table is made by the 2 points system.

    Liverpool 3754 1738 937 1079 6163-4590 4413
    Everton 4138 1688 1018 1432 6486-5812 4394
    Arsenal 3754 1673 967 1104 6156-4761 4325
    Man United 3398 1584 847 967 5811-4437 4054
    Aston Villa 3804 1574 891 1339 6325-5673 4041

I will put this in tomorrow also in case you’re all asleep now…

  30. gazzap

Ray, we can take second place from Everton fairly soon I would say. Liverpool will take a very long time to catch. Good stats though.

  31. Dutchman

Yes, i think that benzema won’t come in but I don’t believe that AW will not replace adebayor. And now you can say, we have enough forwards.Yes, but not a adebayor typ of striker maybe he will battle united for benzema you never now. Last year arsenal was linked with a double swoop for ben arfa and benzema and it was seriously. As adebayor goes for 20 million than you have 20million+7 and you can buy benzema. Than you will buy melo for 18 million and we are 35 million pound less rich(vermalen 10 million).

  32. RayGooner

i got the stats by adding each seasons results, it took me all day, that’s why i was on so late…

  33. Stu

Dutchman, a forward who can battle? I think you are thinking of the old Ade. He doesnt out himself about like Drgshit does and doesnt run nearly as much as he used to do before he thought he had ‘made it’.

  34. Stu

Apparently according to Arsenal action we are buying Ribery for 40m and Benzema for at least 30m on Benzema. Wouldnt that be nice.

We can have those 2 in and fly to mars with Jesus.

  35. Stu

Oops, i seem to have said Benzema twice there. Oh well….

So whats the story with Bischoff then? If he only had a 1 year contract then surely he should be gone now. But instead i hear that he is still around! What the fack!

  36. Pat

Star says their “source” thinks the deal might even be done(for Ribery)!!

hahahahah, someones smoking to much ganja.

I tell you what, I’d fucking love it if it happened. I’d start dancing wherever I am if the news came out, be it church, work, important meeting, etc.

I’d go fucking nuts if we signed Ribery for 30 mil+Bendtner. Benzema as well, but Ribery is a lot better

  37. Pat

If Benzema wants to guarantee himself a 1st team place before the world cup, which is why he is scared of a move from what I hear, then Arsenal is the place to be.

  38. Angelos

Yeah, and my “source” says that Peter Hill-Wood was stroking one under the desk during that board-meeting while Gazidis was motorboating Milly, the elderly cleaner who waters the flowers from time to time.

I don’t know who’s more retarded, the idiots who think people are going to believe this crap or the people that oblige and follow through whole-heartedly. I think it’s an infinite regress of pure stupidity and anyone who enters into it deserves to eat one between the eyes.

  39. GoonerGod

Why are we getting upset about Muamba? We moan about lack of experience, then say we shouldn’t have let him go? What do we do then? Keep everyone?
Our squad is ok, but needs additions.
Wenger isn’t stupid, and if he felt that certain players were good enough, then he’d have tried to keep them.
Look at Johnson going to the Scousers for £17m… Really? Is he that good? And if he was, would Chelsea have let him go? No way!
We need 3 players added, and that’s after our Belgian centre half!
Anyone heard the rumours about the Bordeaux striker? Done deal apparently!

  40. nishanth

Its funny that the moment a top class player is linked to arsenal we all says it rubbish.BTW i don’t believe for a second that benzema or ribery is coming

  41. kelsey

    RayGooner,
must have taken ages to comply that list, but does it take into account relegation and you say all is based on 2 points for a win, when the three point change has been with us for a long time,so it is questionable.

Reading all the tabloids today, forget any 40 million bid for Ribery but I feel if the Times is to be believed,Ade will be sold if it suits Arsenal and a replacement is available at an equivalent price.otherwise he will stay. my gut feeling is that he is on his way to Italy.

strong rumour Michael Owen will turn down Hull and move to Everton, his preferred choice, but for less money.Could be the transfer of the season or the biggest gamble..

  42. Geoff

He could sell Ade and buy Benzema, job done, he won’t bid with Fergie though, how depressing.

I’d bring Reyes back as well, for £4mil, he’d come back a different Reyes.

  43. ManGoonian

Sod it! Im gonna completely disregard anything my brain says and I will completely be taken in by all this Benzema talk…

Karim is a Gooner! Karim is a Gooner!

  44. Geoff

Well todays post is all about Ade and written by Ethan so it may want you want Benzema even more, iTw Cartman is more of a weekly blogger.

He’s on the beach all weekend!

  45. Angelos

Geoff, I completely agree with you on the Reyes front. But everyone should calm down with the whole Benzema deal. Two years ago I would have believed it but now it’s as clear as day that Wenger wouldn’t do something as logical as selling Adebayor and adding 12 mil to get somebody twice as good…whatever, it’s part of supporting Arsenal I guess.
