Cesc will see out contract and I hope that Gallas does too.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

I’m sure you’ve all seen the Arsenal online TV interview where captain Cesc Fabregas says he has a contract until 2014 and intends to see it out, well done Cesc, he keeps telling us that and I think it’s high time we reported Perez to FIFA, he keeps trying to unsettle the players and that can’t be right.

I hate the way Arsenal football club always allow other clubs to push us around, it’s so weedy.

A quick look around shows us that Milan are interested in Gallas and we are interested in Bassong and Robben, well although Robben is a player I have always admired (or maybe hated) he is injury prone and has an attitude problem so I would steer well clear and Bassong I just don’t rate that much. I just saw Taylor taking a penalty for the England under 21′s against Holland and I would still give him a go.

Billy boy I do like and if we sell him I think that would be a mistake, one more season in my book. Milan if you want someone you can have one of our forwards.

I keep looking for ‘Ade’s off to Milan’ headlines, but since his shocking season no one wants him now, perhaps that will lick him into shape, but I’m not going to hold my breath.

Sometimes it’s difficult to write a post when there’s no football on and no transfers happening, so come on Arsene, get your cheque book out and give us all something to talk about!

Cricket is not one of them, what a shower of shite that was last night, it was embarrassing. Unless of course you’re South African!

I hope that the Mancs sell rat boy, so we don’t have to see him again, but I don’t look forward to seeing what red nose will do with £80 million, he won’t be buying a training ground, that’s for sure!

Have a great day Grovers, you never know…

A couple go for a meal at a Chinese restaurant and order the ‘ChickenSurprise’.
The waiter brings the meal, served in a lidded cast iron pot.

Just as the wife is about to serve herself, the lid of the pot rises Slightly and she briefly sees two beady little eyes looking around before the
    lid slams back down.

‘Good grief, did you see that?’ she asks her husband. He hasn’t, so she asks him to look in the pot. He reaches for it and again the lid rises, and he
sees two little eyes looking around before it slams down..

Rather perturbed, he calls the waiter over, explains what is happening,
    And demands an explanation.

‘Please sir,’ says the waiter, ‘what you order?’

    The husband replies, ‘Chicken Surprise.’

‘Ah! So sorry,’ says the waiter, ‘I bring you Peeking Duck!’

    agents are dumb arent they:

    heres a quote from sakhos:

“Arsenal are interested, but the club are too cheap at the moment.

Yes, I think a transfer will happen soon. He wants to play football in England and Arsenal are a good club but Manchester United is a better club.”

  3. Maciek

Hi. Maybe Roand Juhasz from Anderlecht would have been good. He is big( 1.93 cm), strong, tall and can head a ball. Saying this, we probably end up with Djourou, Sendeross, Vermaelen and Sakho. Wenger won’t never learn. Stubborn guy.

  4. Stu

Nick, you talking about me! How dare you!

Maciek, I agree on all counts there. Juhasz would be great but unfortunately Wenger is too stuborn to change his ways at the back. *sigh*

  5. Mayank

    Actual headline from LA times
Their headline read: “Real Madrid’s $131million bid to talk to Cristiano Ronaldo is a hair-raiser”.
It continued: “The hair-gel industry in north-west England suffered a catastrophic blow Thursday in a world-record sports transaction after which the soccer marvel Cristiano Ronaldo seemed Spain-bound.”

  6. Dutchman

    RVP won’t leave.Clichy won’t leave!!!
    Why everybody here is negative??
Wenger will sell silvester, adebayor or toure and buy the buys we need. MARK MY WORDS.

  7. leon

i know toure has pledged his future to the team but overall the past 2 seasons he has not been playing that well, yes he had a few good games this season but ever since sole cambell left he has not looked the same to me,i have no dought if a team makes a decent enough bid they will sell, however for gallas i would try keep him of course but although he our best defender there is little chance he will extend his contract he only has 1 year left,so wenger does realy need to look long term.i feel 2 players will be leaving for sure senderos and silvestor,i dought wenger let both toure/gallas as it would kill the defence

hi everyone at LeGrove jus thought id introduce myself (like a right wanker:)an say iv looked forward to the 9am posts for quite some time now an i always enjoy the read. iv never left a comment before coz its so busy on here it all gets said in the end. but im a proper gooner at heart, love football, an love reading the opinions of everyone.
jus thought id mention a site called IMscouting.com to anyone thats not heard of it, that can only really be described as the “ChampMan” of real life and is used by scouts, managers, players etc. its frustrating because most of the best stuff comes when you sign up to the package (which iv not done, but am really tempted), but for sheer credibility, theres nothing quite like it. theres ben mixed reports about the height of vermaelen, hes (guttingly) 5ft91, 1.8m. its definately worth lookin at, if only for basic player information (though it didnt have martin angha i dont think)
well iv rambled i can tell, so il sign off. glad to be now fully part of the grove revolution… now lets jus hope the team kicks on and wins something next year (not including the youth, well done boys.. and the ladies of course, well done girls) and we make a couple of world class, relatively speaking, signings to get us all buzzing with excitement for the new season. im looking forward as always to seeing last years team one year older and more mature. theres lots to look forward to. so lets all be merry and celebrate.

  9. Confidentgoner

If we get Hangelland, and a midfielder(cana), we should be fine. If we do sell Ade, we must buy a quality replacement. I ‘ll suggest Eto o, who still has pace and a better finisher.

Would like to see RVP stay but for 25m I’d let him go. Same with Clichy. vermallen can play clichy’s role with Gibbs as backup. Huntelar is more clinical than RVP and doesn’t hit the post.

  10. Mayank

Its not like those days can’t return, we still score similar goals… But i think the heart’s missing, that’s something buying talent can’t bring. Its something that the players have to find in themselves. I think they will too.

  11. Maciek

I know that nobody will read it but I think that bidding for Pandev wouldn’t be a bad idea. I have always thought that he is very similar to Bobby Pires and to be fair we really miss Robert. Another guy-0 Jeremy Menez. He is class, even though he isn’t doing great at Roma.

  12. gazzap

hey pedro I sent that photo of poof boy to you earlier in the week! I dont care really – arsenal spot can take the glory.

  13. Pedro

Gazzap, Arsenalspot have to make sure they hit their 50 post a day quota… it would have been up there anyway.

    It’s up in the funnies!

  14. gazzap

I know Pedro. cheers for that anyway. I just flicked through the funnies and some of them had me creasing up.

On a different subject. I would def take Sakho – hope that is true. its looking like maybe Toure will go to City. I have always felt both Toure’s will be there by august.

  15. dennisdamenace

I am just indoors now and I’m being tortured by she who must be obeyed, Coz she’s play the fucking Ofmonds videos on You Fucking Tube, nothing can prepare you for the searing pain I am going through right now….

  16. Pedro

Gazzap… it feels like his agent is maneuvering!

‘Arsenal are good… Man United are better’

I would like him though, he’s had rave reviews! I’ve never seen him… but who cares, eh?

Good luck DDM… my thoughts are with you.

  17. mike

These treads used to be good man. Whatever happen to the Arsenal chat peter storey liam brady and the lads!

  18. BOY BETTER KNOW

if wenger thinks vermaelen, senderos and sakho are the answer to our defensive frailties he best think again

  19. Stu

Im watching “the hills have eyes II”. It is one freaky film. The kind where the suspence more than anything else scares the shite out of you. Bunch of ugly fuckers too.

in fact he has to ..

as for ronaldo , id rather he stayed and red nose didnt have 80 mil to spend .. plus the tevez money ..

that will bolster him up to about 100 mil ..
not a bad kitty for a manager who only said a month or 2 ago he wasnt going to dip into the transfer window this season …

im sure benzema that was on sir alexs list will
    be renewed with interest ..

fuck i hate to see all the good players going to the chev’s and man U again this summer ..

we obviously need to sell some players before we can buy,. even vermin or what ever his name is … all has gone quiet after he said arsenal has made contact …

well so much for gardiz saying we have got money to spend Geoff ..

sorry i still dont concur with that …
the proof is in the pudding !
wheres the transfers then eh ?

its not like we dont need ANY !
linked again with over 30 players and still

Michel Platini the UEFA President was quoted as saying

“These excessive transfers are happening almost every day”
“These transfers are a serious challenge to the idea of fair play and the concept of financial balance in our competitions,”
He suggested that UEFA was planning action to put an end to football’s excesses.
“UEFA is working hard with clubs to set up a new set of rules as soon as is possible to clean up the system and give it a more solid, more transparent base,” “That is our top priority today.”

About time, but it should have happened long ago. But ofcourse in the mean time, all this will continue until a decision is finalised on what action to take. probably in 5 years.

  24. Cartman

    morning all!
DB10 is urging wenger to buy! He says we need at least 5 new players! Well 5 seems too much but i wudn’t mind!
Moving to Sakho, he says Arsenal is a good club but Manu’s better. So Mr Sakho, i hope u dont come to my great team bcoz i dont like cunts!

  25. gnarleygeorge9

I detest Real Madrid, Barcalona, Inter, AC Milan & Juventus for the way they have gone about transfers over the past 20 odd years. They are a disgrace, & should never, never, ever be allowed to play in the Worlds greatest footbal competition, the English Premier League

  26. Geoff

Morning all let’s see him get a place in ManU’s starting line up. I am nervous about Senderos coming back though, why can’t we buy a Cheillini.

  27. gnarleygeorge9

    Evening Geoff/Cartman

I think Phillipe would be ok if he was being nurchered by a Keown type coach, as was apparently the case in the CL Final year in 2006.

  28. gnarleygeorge9

If AW wants a rock solid defence, then he should take the task seriously, not just as a bi product to a fantastic mid field, etc

  29. Geoff

Hi Gnarley, I still think that central defenders only get good when they are in there mid twenties, but the old Senderos was too error prone, I’m concerned he’ll be the same and the problem will still be there, Wenger can’t rate him otherwise why would he have let him go in the first place.

  30. gnarleygeorge9

Big Phil makes me cringe when he tries to do his traditional hack @ the ball for the big clear, which 95% of the time ends up with the opo players. I wish he would stop that, for instance ;)

  31. gnarleygeorge9

    Eric

Down here its Winter & very similar to Old Blighty. But up in Queensland or NT, etc its pretty warm and/or tropical.

  32. gnarleygeorge9

Has The Arsenal confirmed the signing of Thomas Vermaelen. I can’t see any offical response by The Club.

  33. gnarleygeorge9

I really think that The Arsenal need to win something big, with this kid ethos, to become more a attractive option to more established players.

  34. gnarleygeorge9

England forward Theo Walcott believes he will develop into an out-and-out striker over the next couple of years.

The Arsenal winger, who scored a hat-trick for England in Croatia, has played almost exclusively on the right flank so far in his career.

He told the Express: “I spoke to the boss and he wants to gradually move me into a striker role, so I’ll be working on that in the next couple of years.”

  35. gnarleygeorge9

Jack Wilshere says Arsenal’s future is exciting – and English.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been criticised for building his side around foreign stars.

But Wilshire insists there will be plenty of English youngsters in the Arsenal team soon.

He added: “I’m proud that so many young English players have got this far. We’ve got a mixed squad but it’s great to see them coming through. It’s good for all of us in the team and it keeps the spirit up.

“There are more even younger too – Benik Afobe, Chuks Aneke people like that.

“The English players join the club at a young age and keep working hard. That moves them up through the age groups and they’re there when they’re older.

“Hopefully they continue to do it in the future too.”
