So this is it, the game that could see the Mancs lifting the EPL, the ultimate humiliation, like watching your wife snog another bloke, well they weren’t counting on Andre Arshavin were they!
This will be the perfect time for him to show the world how the world missed out on the most outrageous bargain ever in football, this piece of business even surpassed the bargain that was Thierry Henry going to Barca for £16 million.
The team has experienced a torrid few weeks, I’m sure their pride has been severely dented and they will be trying like hell to stop them winning the title in their own back yard, the noise from the dressing room if they won would be the worst experience for them in their short lives so I’m sure they will step up to the plate, also the stick their boss got the other night needs putting right.
They owe the manager and they owe us, let’s hope they can do it and pee on their parade. We have Arsene Wengers favourite fans going to the game today so the atmosphere should be electric, we only have this game left then the last game at home where we’ll be celebrating in style, then shortly after that hopefully we’ll see why we employed Gazidas and we’ll bring in some world class players sharpish. I wonder what we’ll be doing with the loanees, Simpson, Traore and Senderos???
Since I wrote this post I just read the Arshavin interview, it’s good to know that he shares the view of Le Grove, it’s funny how someone that has only been at the club for a few months can see what we all can, so when these AKB sheep ask me if I play Championship manager, or if I know more than Wenger, or tell me I’m not a real fan, perhaps you should ask Arshavin the same question you muppets, I think we need a few ready made world class players, the people that read this blog think that and now Arshavin becomes the 3rd Arsenal player to say something, should he go and support Chelsea or do we think someone at Arsenal should listen? Ivan? Arsene? Anyone?
Have a great day today Grovers, let’s hope that Andre can put a smile on all our faces today. That would at least shut up the Mancs and give us some bragging rights this summer.

Le Grove is now smart phone compatible!

That interview with Arshavin is classic.
He says the right things in the right way
Two things should happen to Arshavin in the Summer

One thing I wud like to ask, Is Wenger a psycho?
Wenger said at the meeting:
“When you look now at people assessing the situations of the clubs, it has become ridiculous in fairness, You sit here, you are in the last four in Europe, and every day, you feel you have killed someone. It is unbelievable. If you do not take a distance with it, you think ‘what kind of world do we live in?’
Why does he always think about killing?
LOL
May 16, 2009 at 09:04
I’m reposting this from ealier…..
As a Gooner i want to stuff it to ManUre, but i’m so tired of the crap spouted by Wenger about how good this mob of gutless wankers are, bigging them u at every opportunity, well maybe yet another dose of reality is required to put Arsene Wenger firmly in his place, i’m truly hoping from a reaction from this team, a reaction proves the team has something, but i fully expect them to be brushed aside, and i fear a mauling, to be quickly followed by more Wenger bollox about mental strength etc etc…..
May 16, 2009 at 09:05
patg – I already own an Arshavin No.10 shirt……

and why wenger keep saying about shared leadership?
May 16, 2009 at 09:08
GOOD MORNING GROVERS!
Wouldn’t it be great if we spanked the mancs?
That cheeky Russian… if he wants to talk like that, he should definitly go to a club like the chav’s… what does he know? Has he ever managed a club? Does he know more than Arsene?
haha! Just kidding… I really do love our little Russian!
No bullshit… straight to the point. I wonder how long before Arsenal reign him in?
May 16, 2009 at 09:09
If Arshavi wears the number 23, that means he’s special (coz its my birthday date)!
May 16, 2009 at 09:10
DDM – I know what you mean pal! If we were to some how stuff Utd we would hear that this side has proved no change is needed and how he doesnt need to add to the squad!
I’m sure that pre & post match conferences will see Wenger talk about motivation, desire, passion, mental strength blah blah blah……what about things that win football matches such as good football from good footballers?
May 16, 2009 at 09:12
Pat, I wouldn’t de-throne Fabregas!
I’d buy a 2-3 top class players… then take the league by storm next year!
We’ve got a good base of players now… we just need to reinforce it with a bit of steel!
I can’t wait for the summer… I reckon Wenger will act fast… he know’s the mood of the fans… and he’ll want to make an impact.
An unhappy fanbase is good for no one…
May 16, 2009 at 09:13
Good post
Bravo Andrey, but be careful with the press statements. If SAF was in charge you’d already be halfway out the door. Since AW has admitted to being so sensitive to fans criticism, he’s not going to be impresssed with implied crticism of the squad from one of the players. It apperas that AA plays with freedom and speaks with freedom….a breath of fresh air in our jaded dressing room..
May 16, 2009 at 09:13
Pedro I cross my fingers!
May 16, 2009 at 09:15
I agree with DDM (hence my earliest post)
how can we the fans gee ourselves up today,in some ways if we won it would actually make me feel worse, not in some perverse way,but because we really aren;t that far behind, and although stated thousands of times, wenger and only wenger has fucked up our season.Forget missing rosicky,he hasn’t played for 16 months, even forget Eduardo,he had hardly settled as a regular first team player.
I have never known a new player come in(Arshavin) and get straight to the point, with his various quoted interviews,Good on him,but if there is no significan expenditure in the summer on quality and experience (not another bloody 16 year old keeper) he will piss off himself after next season and no one could blame him.
May 16, 2009 at 09:18
Morning kelsey
May 16, 2009 at 09:19
Kelsey… the same way a man gee’s himself up going to a club full of page three models.
You might not have a chance… but it doesn’t stop your excitement levels!
I’m pumped up for today… we’re going to nick it two nil!
COME ON YOU GOONERS!
May 16, 2009 at 09:21
I wonder what caviats / buy-out clauses AA has in his contract. Theses days contracts are fairly meaningless. They seem to be heavily weighted in the players favour – net wages etc.
May 16, 2009 at 09:22
Rasputin… every team in the world will be trying to buy him next summer… lets hope we’ve shown enough ambition to keep him!
I doubt he has a buy out clause in his contract… that is a distinctly Spanish mechanism.
I would expect he has a pay review lined up for next summer.
May 16, 2009 at 09:23
nick it 2-0 Pedro? Sounds quite comfortable to me!
May 16, 2009 at 09:24
TAIG, I just can’t see where the United goal threat is going to come from. Kolo and Silvestre will have a pretty easy afternoon… just let Andrey take care of things.
Who reckons Ade will play?
Surely there isn’t a bigger shop window than the title decider at old trafford?
May 16, 2009 at 09:27
Pedro – For a bigger shop window, read the two-legged Champions League semi-finals!
May 16, 2009 at 09:28
Pedro – I think he will play him. He fucking well shouldn’t seeing as Bendtner has scored 3 in 3!
May 16, 2009 at 09:29
Morning Pedro/Rasputin.
Page 3 girls Pedro,well that’s another story
We used to call them prick teasers.
Anyway i admire your optimism, but it’s a no win situation for us today regardless of the result,if we won 2-0 who is to say we would beat Stoke next week.Sorry to be so down, but i personally have no excitment for the game today, and that is nothing to do with my long standing support.
A few years ago it was nearly unthinkable that we would lose a game, now we have no backbone to the team,no real leader and we are never consistant.wenger has this idea that every player should be able to play in any position and a blind man can see,it doesn’t work, the youngsters get more and more demoralised and yet money could have been spent,as we all know.
May 16, 2009 at 09:31
morning Grover’s,
did it all kick off on here yesterday!!!wenger was a bit overzealous with his blame for the fans.I hope nikki starts today and bags a couple
May 16, 2009 at 09:31
Morning all! I wonder what Wenger has said to Arshavin this morning, he had the same problem last week with Ade and the same before that with Robin.
Still what do I know, I’ve only been saying it for 2 years.
May 16, 2009 at 09:32
DDM Superb,
I think I might follow suit and get an Arshavin 10 shirt once we buy the players and I lift my spending on Arsenal ban.
Pedro, I think you are right and said that in my post at 1818 last night. I do think that Q and A was a shock to Wenger and if not him then definately the club as a whole. Signings like Bischoff and Silvestre wont cut it this summer nor will playing average players out of position. I think that was the moment when the fans got to say enough is enough.
My only concern is the de ja vu feeling of seasons gone by, and memories of comments like super super class players and 2-3 players that will reassure the fans echo in my brain.
He has to act now….Surely
May 16, 2009 at 09:32
Hello chaps! Anyone got a link to a video/transcript of the QA session with Mr Wenger from Thursday night?
May 16, 2009 at 09:33
Was last night’s transmission of the Q&A edited??
May 16, 2009 at 09:34
After the last few days I have now lost the will to slate Wenger anymore! What more can I say? What else can anyone say? What can anyone do to show the AKB’s that they have got their priorities wrong? Its such a drain! Football should be fun! It used to be fun!
May 16, 2009 at 09:34
From an hour and a half to 35 minutes Dennis, not one contentious question.
May 16, 2009 at 09:35
DDM – It surely was!
May 16, 2009 at 09:35
It certainly was DDM, it only lasted 40 mins on Arsenal.com and they filled in the gap with a Theo interview until 10pm. Another sign maybe that the club were not expecting the ill-feeling and level of questioning.
May 16, 2009 at 09:36
Geoff – Unbelievable! Arsenal FC are in complete denial!
May 16, 2009 at 09:36
Bassem there was a link on news now earlier.
May 16, 2009 at 09:36
TAIG wenger must pull his finger out now,the heat is gonna be on.blaming the fans ain’t the best bit of PR bet gazidis was cringing
May 16, 2009 at 09:37
It pretty pathetic when a club edits a program to remove all of the fractious questions when we have all read them anyway!
May 16, 2009 at 09:38
Tony it’s like being in China under Mao. Gazidas comes in and tows the company line, Wenger cannot be criticised, ever.
May 16, 2009 at 09:39
is there a link to the Q+A??? i haven’t read it
May 16, 2009 at 09:40
Nick – I do think Arshavin was a direct result of feeling the heat from the fans! I just hope he realises what he can do for this team when he wants to. Its not listening to the fans and giving into their demands. We dont want to be manager. We just want him to have a bit more of an open mind and not be so stubborn. When everyone around you says yes, its pretty hard for you to say no.

“at least at Arsenal I am playing. At Barcelona I think I would be sitting on the bench, like Aleksandr Hleb”
I like that! Alex r u reading? hahaha!
May 16, 2009 at 09:41
Geoff – It is quite funny how Gazidids has made his mark. From the off he has doe nothing other than promote Wenger to the fans. He knows who really runs the club and that is Sir Arsene!
May 16, 2009 at 09:41
Courtesy of the last two years i believe nothing that AW says, so when he says he will buy and he will buy experience (again) i don’t believe him…..i’m preparing myself for another frustrating transfer window, followed by the normal cack about how wonderful this current group of players are blah blah fucking blah….
May 16, 2009 at 09:46
DDM – When Wenger says he will by experience within his budget it means that he will bid £3m for Alonso and if Liverpool dont accept that you cant say he hasn’t tried. Its the same old penny pinching, narrow minded, undeveloped attitude that turned a 5 point gap at the end of 07/08 into what will likely be a 21 point gap at the end of this season!
May 16, 2009 at 09:51
Pathetic, that’s the word that best describes the people who run our club. So, they edit out all the bits they don’t like…..
May 16, 2009 at 09:52
did they really what a bunch of cunts anyone got a unedited link!!!!
May 16, 2009 at 09:52

to blame the fans is a bit childish well they done it not me its not my fault.Arsenal probably edited to save wenger a bigger backlash, gizidis set wenger up to play on the fans with news of signings and he petulantly had a go at them arsen will have gone down i the boards estimations imo.The are desperately trying to sell the boxes and season tickets and he goes an alienates there market. This smacks to me off wenger not liking being told what to do.
May 16, 2009 at 09:58
morning all. A bit sad that there is nothing to play for other than pride today. Another season gone by.
May 16, 2009 at 09:59
over the course of the season this has become the most virulent anti-arsenal site on the web. i know you’ll say “we’re anti arsene not anti-arsenal” but since he is our coach (until 2011) – it amounts to the same thing. mind you i never liked that guy off of Fever Pitch – but I presume you all relate to him? deeply negative right up until the moment of triumph…
May 16, 2009 at 09:59
lol, DDM!
ok, i’ll be back in a while!
May 16, 2009 at 10:00
Re.Arshavin interview The feeling i get is the guy thinks he is nearabouts the same bracket as Ronaldo.I think nxt year he should/will prove that.
May 16, 2009 at 10:00
stonroy, yet another value our club seems to lacking in at the moment……PRIDE!
May 16, 2009 at 10:01
i don’t get it, why the bitterness towards your own fans in this post..the fans are saying that we need to sign, the ex-players are saying we need to sign, Wenger is saying we need to sign, Gazidis is saying we need to sign and arshavin is saying we need to sigh..where’s the need to call fans sheep..?
May 16, 2009 at 10:02
timao, many people like colin firth
May 16, 2009 at 10:04
timao,
why read it then we all want the team to do well and any glimmer of light we jump on and hope its the beginning. we don’t how ever exept our fate as also runs and maybe we care a bit more about the club because we cant accept our lot and question why we are where we are
May 16, 2009 at 10:06
amounts to the same thing!!!!!! See right fucking there is everything that is wrong at the club, the manager and the club are NOT the same thing, players come and go, owners come and go, AND managers come and fucking go, but the fans are the ONLY constant, the fans ARE the club….
May 16, 2009 at 10:06
Go and stick your money on the gunners
May 16, 2009 at 10:08
The most dangerous thing i have noticed coming from Arsene is that he is making the Mancs out to be bigger than they are…That is fucking dangerous. That leads to the mind-set of being a mid table team…We are the Arsenal! We are every bit as good as they are, don’t ever say we are less than
May 16, 2009 at 10:08
Nick – i read it to gauge the worst that people saying about the club. if you want to find the most violent anti-arsenal opinion, this is the place to come. it’s important to walk in the shadow as well as the light.
May 16, 2009 at 10:08
Finsbury, 50p bets today….
May 16, 2009 at 10:12
timao do you make wengers decisions this year right are pleased with how the season has gone???
May 16, 2009 at 10:12
Timao, I think you have got it all wrong.
I can take you saying that you read the most negative articles on here (Although I dont think that is true)
But to call it anti-arsenal is bullshit. If anything it is pro-arsenal as we just want the club to be run properly and to be challenging as at the end of the day that is what they keep telling us they are going to do.
It is people that seriously care about this club venting their frustrations at the way it is heading.
May 16, 2009 at 10:12
Wenger in the Q&A session has said the right things in the wrong way..he has said the there is money to spend, ade can fuck off to chelsea, the fans shouldn’t boo their own..i can’t understand why there is soo much negativity towards him..
I don’t think anyone can condone booing…what if arsh had problems fitting in and didn’t play well lost the ball etc. would he be booed off too..
and like i said earlier what if bobby had been booed in his first season which at best was average..do you think he would have been the same players..people say ronaldo uses the booing to spur himself on..well he’s never been booed by his own fans..even when he was it wasn’t because of his performance…

May 16, 2009 at 10:19
Nick?Pat
i’m not pleased with the way the season has gone, i know that wenger has made mistakes. wenger knows he has made mistakes. however i think that slaughtering someone for their mistakes is counter-productive. if you think that you somehow care more about results than wenger then you are just plain deluded. so i say again – slaughtering the coach and the players is the same as slaughtering the team. clearly it’s your choice – but i note with concern the growing anti-arsenal sentiment. maybe it’s like growing a beard – you don’t notice it so much yourself until someone comes up and says wow look at that big hairy beard of hatred, i thought you used to be an arsenal fan.
May 16, 2009 at 10:20
when you pay as much as we do to watch football, then people have the right to voice their opinion.people that dont pay to follow the tam are still fans but dont have the right to tell people who do they are wrong imo.
eboue was booed after weeks of shit performances and came on and surpassed himself and looked like he was going to cost us the game the fans booed him rightly or wrongly and wenger took him off, admitting he was a liability
May 16, 2009 at 10:21
Arshavin is bang on the money, he’s absolutely correct….but hey, what does he know about football? And what do we?
Wenger knows that another trophyless season next year will certify Arsenal as has-beens….we either break Manyoos momentum or we keep being fourth best to them and other English champions league teams.
Wenger has gone as far as he possibly can with this policy, it has not achieved the goals that were set out at the beginning of the season as Gazidis has confirmed, and that’s what Arsene Wenger will be judged on.
Arshavin wants to win, I hope Wenger still does, and looking at and assessing other teams can he set goals of winning trophies at the beginning of the season and then when we achieve fourth claim that we were successful.
How many of our best players want to stick around while the L plate players get games? How many top players will want to join a team which doesn’t have the sincere ambition to win trophies? Because if the aim to win a trophy is not there, then why mug our best players off?
Arsenal has turned into a youth training scheme for up and coming youth players, it’s time to redress the balance, give those ready to play a chance to win trophies, create the strongest first 11 you possibly can, like a world cup team, have a first team of 22 players and 11 quality reserves. And if they’re good enough they’ll break out of the reserves. We already have the quality reserves, now we need to strengthen the first team which will hopefully help Arsenal and Arsene Wenger achieve the aims set out at the start of the season.
May 16, 2009 at 10:21
Mayank, the way I see it is that Wenger got caught out at the Q and A.
I honestly think that he believed the Shareholders would be the section of Fans that would be right behind him, and when the critical questions got asked, and got approved by the rest of the audience, he went on the defensive and quite rightly defended his choices of tactics and players.
Unfortunately he has further alienated his fanbase. He talks of feeling like a murderer yet it was himself that said judge him in May and that is what is happening. On paper two semi-finals does look good but the reality behind it is that we went out of the CL as soon as we met decent opposition, and in the FA Cup we could not even beat Chavski on an off day for them as we still did not have the quality to beat them. That quality was sat on the bench. When A Manager plays a CM player on the LW and LW in the CM position in the same game, and it does not work, he has to accept he will get negative vibes.
May 16, 2009 at 10:23
..lol..i might be over-reacting a bit but i think there a two clans forming in the fans..the AKB’s(so called) and the AKJ’s(arsene knows jack!)..while it is wrong to have unquestioned faith in arsene it is also wrong to think he can do nothing right..
May 16, 2009 at 10:24
weeks of shit performances Nick he came of a 4 week injury..
May 16, 2009 at 10:24
timao if you sat back and accepted this season do you think the bard and wenger would push to improve….its a business to them the more money they save the more they make, total power is never good and to say not to question wenger is dangerous if you dont agree maybe you are deluded.I have said time and again wenger is the best man for the job in the big picture but he has to be held accountable
May 16, 2009 at 10:25
Im not a AKB or a AKJ
Im a ASIOBITL
Arsene sort it out before its too late.
May 16, 2009 at 10:25
Dont you dare call me deluded Timao, I never even hinted that Wenger cares less than us. I am questioning his actions not his love for the club.
If we dont have the facility such as this to air our views, lay plaudits on the team when due and vent our frustrations when they are due then your comment about negativity being counter-productive stinks of being a sheep and a yes man, and if you go down that road then the club will just continue on the same path and think everything is hunky dory.
May 16, 2009 at 10:26
mayank before that you contrary sod
May 16, 2009 at 10:26
as soon as we met decent opposition pat..didn’t villareal hold barca to a 3-3 draw in a game where they totally outplayed them..there’s life beyond england..man u has never scored against villareal…

DDM Bang on!!!
When Arsene Wenger gets sick of some fans compaining about not winning anything in 5 years, he will sign a million euro contract with some Spanish club, & declare he has always had admiration for them.
The people who come on here & complain about this site think about this Arsene & his band of “baby” brothers are like people who have 2 passports(dual citizenship). If things start to look bad where they are they can jump ship. Unlike them, we are all Arsenal to the end, so we are like those who only have one passport, we have to stay. & some of us have been though the long droughts already; the long periods of nothing, Geoff Knows, & obviously doesn’t want to go through it again. Good on you Geoff & Pedro for telling it how it is, & not trying to suger coat it.
Shit is happening, & no dream result is about to appear today either. Today is all about Manchester United, nothing more, we are just the support act, the Washington Generals. & guess who made it that way, not the home fans & not the away fans, & not the overseas fans, & not the pitch, & not the dirty northern monkeys, & not the ref, & not bad luck. Blame goes squarely @ the football department & The Board, & only they, I repeat, ONLY THEY can rectify the situation.
May 16, 2009 at 10:28
me personally, i feel wenger has lost all my confidence. im fed up of his spin. he said we should have learnt of our disappointment of not winning the league last year and that we should win it this year. is he deluded or does he just not know what he is doin anymore?
May 16, 2009 at 10:28
I find it extremely amusing that on a daily basis the main topic of discussion on ACLF is the comments on Le Grove.
They are the blind ones,we speak our mind because we truly support the club, and don’t bottle up our feelings.AW has been a good manager, but to put it mildly he has been lyeing to us about players coming in,he depleted the squad last season and filled it with inexperienced average players and keeps playing players out of position.
if i was his employer firstly I would ask is why so many players get the same injury, why has wenger told us for a year that rosicky will be back in training in a few weeks, why has he had 8 different captains, why did he say we were only 2% off being world beaters, and why did he leave arguably our best player in AA out of the cupsemi, why has RVP not signed an extension yet,why do members of the first team squad together with the majority of ex arsenal players all see the same frailities, why doesn’t he play his bloody youth like vela, wilshere and ramsey and so on.
We are one of the biggest clubs in the world and are becoming an embarressment and joke.yes this team that was 5 points clear 15 months ago,
Wenger has to go and if others leave so be it,no great loss in my mind, and get someone in like even mourinho if it means restoring morale, players knowing exactly who the boss is,even if we change our wengerball style, which clearly isn’t working anymore with the class of player we now have(AA being the exception)Rant over.

franchise
May 16, 2009 at 10:29
nick there’s no need to get aggressive..so according to you it is right to boo a young player if he’s having a bad game..can’t see many stars signing for arsenal if that’s the signal’s the fans are sending out..
May 16, 2009 at 10:30
i was thinking last night about what arsene said regarding man u having 10 times the resources of us. For me in the games against Man u it was the desire and work rate that killed us not their star players. How many players do we have like rooney who work their arses off, tracking back and getting in peoples faces and just generally scaring people with their energy. Last year flamini was doing it, and ade and hleb to an extent. Wenger always bangs on about desire but i dont think this team fully kbows what desire is. Hopefully today will teach them a few things.
May 16, 2009 at 10:30
WE ARE NOT FUCKING SHEEP
as much as arsene wants us to be …
and if arshavin can say this
“We must buy in the summer. Not more potential, but players who are ready to do it now, players like me. We need two or three. If Arsenal want to win, they have to do it. We are tired of waiting.
THEN WHO ARE THE FUCKING SHEEP FOR STICKING UP FOR WENGER FOR YEARS .. like wenger, you should just admit your loyalty was ill directed over the past few seasons and move on …
May 16, 2009 at 10:31
Mayank, I dont think it is AKJ.
I think that if you ask most of the people that you think would sit in that category if they still think Wenger is the right man, they would say yes.
I think people have just been worn down by the spin, and this season was the final straw. I cant speak for others but for myself, I just want to see him put it right as if he does continue down the same avenue his legacy at the club will be wiped out and that would be a real shame. I also feel that stubbornes continues to get in his way and I just hope that he will sit back and contemplate what the whole world is telling him (Especially the fans) and he does the right thing.
May 16, 2009 at 10:32
ACLF is full of people that don’t go to the club and feel they know all.their a bunch of small minded simpletons . Most have probably never been to arsenal or north London for that matter
May 16, 2009 at 10:33
I could not give a fuck if Man Ure have never scored against Villareal Mayank. I care about Arsenal and we got humiliated by Man Ure and only luck and some qorld class saves saved us from being completely out of the tie in the first leg
May 16, 2009 at 10:34
Mayank a lot of us have been saying that we needed players and whilst we were saying it ppl accused us of being spuds and chavs etc. we predicted the outcome of this season.
even in january some AKBs were saying we didnt need players cos the master says we dont
how come all of a sudden wenger believes we need players? does that make the fans, media etc that have been saying this correct or not
he has given ‘murder’ as one of the reason he hasnt signed any experienced players. he has also tried to give the impression that we cant afford players? what a spin?
May 16, 2009 at 10:34
Nick – Leeds Utd just failed again to get out of League One by getting done by Millwall at Elland Road. The Leeds fans stayed right to the final whistle and then stayed a bit longer to applaud their team off the pitch. Do you think Leeds fans don’t care about the position they’re in FFS!? Of course they do, but – and I really hate to say this – that showed class. Do you think those players will want to perform for those fans next season? It’s obvious they will.
May 16, 2009 at 10:36
I see Wenger has finally agreed that we need to bring in more experience and has gone and signed a 17 yr old goalkeeper hmmm
May 16, 2009 at 10:37
Morning, Kelsey!
I’ve been spending some time posting on the other blog today, mainly explaining my position since one of them took it on himself to speak for me. (I am obviously doing well if I am being abused in absentia.)
Anyway, after reading through the comments over the last few days, I have realized that they have a fringe group of AKBs but the bulk of the folks there are very similar to the folks here. It’s the fringe group who are obsessed with Le Grove….I think the bulk of them are just Arsenal fans like us.
May 16, 2009 at 10:39
Actually it looks like the Arsene lovers have disappeared off here. maybe they have gone with QoS to the ACLF.
No doubt they are still reading though
May 16, 2009 at 10:39
Gnarleygeorge, don’t hate us lucky ones who can get 2 or more passports…..if you have more than one it does not mean you are disloyal…..and with footie yes, you generally have one team to support till the end….or your no.1 team, and maybe a local team, like a lot of Aussies have an A – league team as well as their fave Prem team.
The nutters who say they have two fave teams, Chelsea and Manyoo (yes!! I have met people like that….not in England….but they just don’t understand, they’re casual fans).
But Arsenal fans still want change, I don’t see Arsenal fans abandoning ship but rather campaigning for change, however long that may take.
May 16, 2009 at 10:40
Pat no arsenal fan is happy after this season..if they are they don’t really support arsenal..everyone realises that there is a need for signings he’s said it himself that the defence is far behind man u’s..and there’s also this myth that arsene does’t sign experience and a sense of hopelessness surrounding the club and arsene specifically..arsene should be given the benefit of the doubt that he couldn’t sign the players he wanted last summer..’cause most of his recent signings have been experienced..sagna, rosicky, edu, arshavin, nasri(?)..if you expect him to sign like man u e.i 100mil on the bench thats not gonna happen nor do i think you would want that..i’m just disturbed by the fact that there’s so much infighting b/w the fans..
May 16, 2009 at 10:40
pdt
whats the other blog??
May 16, 2009 at 10:41
mayank you are such a pleb, im not being aggressive and i never said it was ok to boo our players i said the people who pay have the right to voice their opinion.Eboue has been given more time by our fans then he would have got anywhere else by a long way
May 16, 2009 at 10:41
Oh and is anyone else worried that arshavin spoke up about signings?
didnt ade and almunia get dropped for the saying stuff in the papers before chelsea???
May 16, 2009 at 10:42
finest
No I mean its the fans who can’t leave coz of loyalty. But players & managers move from club to club like a whore on heat. Now you with me.
May 16, 2009 at 10:43
Mayank
The game where eboue was booed, or ironically clapped off was an abosolutely aweful performance. One of the worst individual performances from an arsenal footballer i have ever seen.
He tackled toure and passed it to a wigan player…
lol
May 16, 2009 at 10:45
Mayank, I do not think we need to sign like Man Ure nor do I think we will.
We need a few 10m players that we all know Wenger can turn into 30m players. Arshavin was right, we need 2-3 more of him,
May 16, 2009 at 10:45
Surely blindin following a flawed srategy is more anit-Arsenal than speaking up when we see things that could be improved.
This is Arsenal Football Club not Arsene’s Football Club.
Le-Grove recognises that and alot of other people can’t take it for some reason.
Consistently over 1000 comments a post says to me that a lot of people feel like Wenger is not fulfilling his or the club’s potential.
May 16, 2009 at 10:45
ethan – if you’re not a sheep, why do you spend so much time bleating?
May 16, 2009 at 10:45
*blindly
May 16, 2009 at 10:46
incesc, it is called ACLF. Look on the sidebar here and you’ll find it. Should be the first one.
May 16, 2009 at 10:46
Yeah totally, they can up sticks when the team isn’t doing well, and the fans are left behind…..so how do we get players to be loyal to their club? For example Wayne Rooney a boyhood Everton supporter moved to Manyoo to win trophies. Winning trophies is the key goal of elite players, and understandably so.
May 16, 2009 at 10:46
May 16, 2009 at 10:47
Mayank I am not too concerned about the infighting as long as it sticks to healthy banter and debate and not insults and talk of delusion and going to support another team.
We all love the Arsenal and are all very passionate about how we go about it no matter how pro or negative or realistic our comments are.
May 16, 2009 at 10:47
Hi Mayank!
Do you have a solution?
May 16, 2009 at 10:48
KEL
ACLF are full of small simpletons who have to collectively gang up on a voice of differing opinion ,its like the KKK that’s the reason they go there . A LYNCH MOB MENTALITY .
they are like those inbreds from America who refuse to use anything technical .(the ones with the beards)
they are a small minority of wenger purists that like to show faith in him when all else are fading . almost biblical like ..
well im sure they’ve had little to talk about for the past few years so they focus on us .well apart from them publicly crucifying free thinkers on there blog.
fuck em all ! i told them ade sucked and got banned for it .. well who was right and who was wrong ??
if you want the definition of AKB .. you only have to read that blog to figure out what an AKB is ..
May 16, 2009 at 10:48
read arshavin’s interview! good stuff! hes been at arsenal for 4 months now and not only do the stats prove what he is worth but he already speaks as both a player and a die hard fan, something i have not heard fabregas do in some time i think but please correct me coz i hope im wrong :\
say they ll come out guns’a'blazin and smack 3 in!
just hope they dnt take the title today… but remember if they take the title today its in front of our away fans, in 2002 Arsenal did it in front of their HOME crows at OT…
COYG! have a good day grovers and hope for the best!
May 16, 2009 at 10:49
Arshvin on an offer from barce and Hleb
“At Barcelona I think I would be sitting on the bench, like Aleksandr Hleb”
haha
this guy is legendary already.
make him captain arsene. I cant wait for next season with arshavin in the team.
May 16, 2009 at 10:50
ethangunner: very well put!!!
May 16, 2009 at 10:50
nick that just goes to show that getting the manager sacked is pointless – pat – chill, i never said you were delude, apologies if i gave offence – ethan – sorry sorry sorry – it was out of order, just couldn’t help myself.
May 16, 2009 at 10:50
I actually like the initial content of ACLF. The guy that runs it Yogi posts some excellent articles and thoughts.
But I wont post there because as soon as you post something that goes against the very pro Arsene Wenger, then you get told to fuck off and support Chavski so there is no point in posting. At least here it is moderated and your views are allowed whatever they are as long as they are not abusive.
May 16, 2009 at 10:50
Hi, Ethan!
Kick off’s at a good time for us, for a change!
I think the writer there does a good job.
May 16, 2009 at 10:51
WHat are the chances that we see Cesc at his best today?
May 16, 2009 at 10:55
Yeah I like Yogi’s articles, he is a true gooner with his own take and a group of gooners who choose it as the blog they wish to hang around on, if there is someone on there who is rude and abusive we should focus on them and critcise them rather than the entire blog, it can happen on any blog.
May 16, 2009 at 10:56
Agree about making Andrej the captain.
Will take a lot of pressure off Cesc and hopefully, allow him to play again at his best.
May 16, 2009 at 10:56
So here we are today, enraged about comments made by Le Prof @ a Q & A, & by 4 years that we feel could have been more rewarding. AW blowing a fuse @ a Q & A, well maybe its just him letting off some steam about how he feels. If we vent our spleens, why can’t he then
After all we are all in this together.
But what needs to happen is for the whole institution to move forward from this, & today, there could be be no better place in the world for the pheonix to rise from the flame than Old Cow Paddock.
Ok Wenger, mon ami, show us what you are made of. Win today & stick it up those debt ridden turds. & in the process it wouldn’t hurt to listen to abit of the advice that is being given from all sections of this fine Club.
Viva Le Arsenal!!!!! How about that Cartman
May 16, 2009 at 10:57
Agree, finest, though I must say I was flattered when a couple of them decided they should hold my feet to the fire.
May 16, 2009 at 10:59
I agree Yogis Warrior writes some good stuff
May 16, 2009 at 10:59
If anything, at least Wenger now knows he hasn’t got the total support of all Arsenal fans. I think he now recognises that next season can’t be like the past four. His pride has been hurt and reading between the lines in his exchange with the fans. I’m hopeful he will try and correct that, if only to show those that dare to challenge him he still knows what he’s doing. Time will tell.
May 16, 2009 at 10:59
PDT you are popular
the articles are good its just the comments that spoil it.
May 16, 2009 at 11:01
I just took finsbury’s advice and put a tenner on us today 9/2. The mancs are 4/7 so we are expected to get spanked. If we can beat them I think they’ll fuck it up at Hull.
May 16, 2009 at 11:01
Hey PDT!..sorry had gone out for a bit..
May 16, 2009 at 11:01
PDT aka fire Wenger aka Keown as our number 2, you speak with much wisdom
May 16, 2009 at 11:03
Good Post Gnarley,
I reckon Wenger felt pretty upset after the Q and A.
I really believe it was needed and was a wake up call. I bet he did not see it coming especially when individual players were mentioned.
It was like a bit of marriage counselling where everyone laid their cards on the table.
What is important now is how we move forward TOGETHER. Lets just hope the signings come in and certain players leave to let that happen.
I definately feel that to move forward, Adebayor has to leave the club in the summer. I felt last year that he would never be forgiven and I still thank that is the case. Again I think that has shocked Wenger that we are unwilling to forgive him.
May 16, 2009 at 11:03
gg9, I watched the chavs game again, masochist that I am. As I watched Wenger’s face, it was impossible not to feel his pain. I am pretty sure he feels the pain as bad if not worse than us. Don’t doubt his competitiveness – this is a man who frequently throws up after defeats.
Kind of explains the little jig that he did earlier. Must be under a lot of pressure.
I feel sorry for him, caught between an inability to give up his dream and the desire to win.
Unfortunately, he is the only person at the club who is clear headed enough to understand the situation. He should voluntarily move on. The club, of course, will not let him go and will give him a position on the board.
Fans get the best of both worlds – we keep Le Prof, but we also get a pragmatic coach.
May 16, 2009 at 11:03
Morning! Guys, do you really think it would be a good idea for the club to show the unedited version and let the world see and replay over and over again AW looking like he will explode! We know what was said and more importantly what tone it was said in and how AW was reacting to reasonable questions. We don’t need SSN showing it a zillion times and making us look like a club completely falling apart. Hardly likely to make us look an enticing place for targeted players.
May 16, 2009 at 11:04
gg9, I really must visit Tasmania!
May 16, 2009 at 11:06
BTW, gg9, “Vive Le Arsenal” was my line….and yes, I speak with great wisdom!
May 16, 2009 at 11:06
zorr0 my thoughts as well, don’t think that went down well with the board, upset the fans when the board are trying to get in their pockets
May 16, 2009 at 11:09
timao
ethan – if you’re not a sheep, why do you spend so much time bleating?
Its simple . some people refute logic .
would rather try an untested path .
would rather put there faith in 2nd rate players
and get NO WHERE as against stepping back and seeing with clarity what is the winning formula
in the current EPL climate .
Bleating is something people from ACLF do , we offer some light at the end of the tunnel .
At le grove we offer solutions , not problems .
we identify the problems with clarity , and voice an opinion , if you prefer the communistic path of ACLF , BLIND FUCKING FAITH .
well your welcome to it ..
but it doesnt take a brain surgeon to work out what AA offers to our current team ..
and here at LE GROVE we want more of the same , hell AA today is singing the same song as le grove ..
its a dark day for you and your AKB mates ..
May 16, 2009 at 11:09
zorr0 thats just too soap opera. it was meant to be a Q&A open for all to see. why hide if we believe we have nothing to hide?
or is it the shameful responses of wenger that we are scared of showing the world?
May 16, 2009 at 11:09
ACLF people talking about Le Grove again… now there is surprise! haha!
If I hate a site, I don’t read it… it’s simple really. If they all hate Le Grove so much… stop reading it and stop reading the comments!
I’m surprised there is still an argument against what Le Grove has been saying for the best part of two years… disaffected Grovers me thinks!
After all, our best player, best ex players, pundits, blogs, fansites and newspapers are all singing off the same hymn sheet… can we all be wrong?
It’s funny… all those people who said they’d be back in May expecting an apology aren’t here? That for me is only supporting when we’re winning… we’re all here everyday come rain or shine!
Anyway, I’m not interested in blog wars this summer… just happy thoughts during the sunshine! We get enough gloom outside Arsenal! We don’t need it during the day whilst talking about our favourite topic!
P.S. I am a big fan of ACLF, he is the ying to our yang… we get most of our outside clicks from his site. I’m just not a fan of his posters.
May 16, 2009 at 11:10
PDT
i was just checking that out .. (kick off time)
May 16, 2009 at 11:11
It’s season ticket renewal time. For a while at least they will send out the right messages. Lets look at our squad by the end of August and we’ll all be able to see what our chances are next season.
May 16, 2009 at 11:11
Zorro, why hide something that was widely reported in the press?
It seems a bit pointless really?
May 16, 2009 at 11:12
all this talk of 2nd rate players
of this team how many are 2nd rate
al
sagna-toure-gallas-gael
rosicky-fab-song-arsh
rvp-edu
song maybe..we need strengthening but we’re not 2nd rate..
May 16, 2009 at 11:12
i cant believe that comment about nadal wenger is taking the piss out of us what a wanker
May 16, 2009 at 11:12
pedro their blog is filled with bloggers u didnt allow on here for being too aggressive or insulting
May 16, 2009 at 11:13
what did arsene say about nadal?
May 16, 2009 at 11:14
I’m not going to bet on todays game, but I will bet this. If Arsenal get a result today, all the Arsene lovers will be on here in droves. There will be techo jam
May 16, 2009 at 11:15
I think blogs are an evolution of the local pub where you hang around with your friends, share a few jokes. It helps if you have similar opinions and sometimes, you brawl with your friends (but only when you are very very very drunk!)
May 16, 2009 at 11:15
Franchise, morning buddy.
I just feel they were not expecting it from the shareholders. They probably assume they are all too rich and posh to dig out AW and that they are the ones who blindly toe the club line and fall for the spin.
AW got asked some diificult questions, honest ones that we all want answers too, and he struggled to keep up his normal calm urbane witty style that the press love so much. He bit and has shown how much pressure he is under, and also said some things that can be spun to really piss us fans off.
I agree with A about the atmosphere this season being poor and the people who boo players during the game or as they come on are a bit thick if they think that doing that is going to help the team in any way at all. But to have a pop at the 57k there week in week out was naive to the extreme.
May 16, 2009 at 11:15
Mayank, what’s your solution – I still need an answer!
May 16, 2009 at 11:16
pedro
If I hate a site, I don’t read it… it’s simple really. If they all hate Le Grove so much… stop reading it and stop reading the comments!
———————————-
agree totally , i cant remember the last time i read his posts .. he would be a good writer if he didnt have the AKB slant to his blog ..
as some of you might know it was my favorite haunt before the local posters dissected every free thought i had ..
All i can say who was right and who was wrong .
HAHAHAHAHAHA BWWWHAHAHAHAHAH (evil laugh )
May 16, 2009 at 11:16
zorr0, I am pretty sure that he was quoted out of context on the home vs. away fans.
May 16, 2009 at 11:17
yes we are in the semi final of the champs…
oh we have got united never mind we are 10 times behind them lets not even try our team has fuck all desire
May 16, 2009 at 11:17
Kirby, it wasn’t taking the piss. You can be a great tennis player, but how do you beat Nadal/Federer/Sampras who were just simply the best? You keep trying, but because you are the 2nd best player in the world does not make you shit! Just not quite good enough to be the best!
May 16, 2009 at 11:17
When parliment is clashing it means the democratic wheels are in motion, thats what it is all about.
So the Arsenal Q & A is the same thing. After the thunder & lightning of the big storm/spat call it what you like, the air is cleared & things settle down
May 16, 2009 at 11:17
for what PDT im really lost..
May 16, 2009 at 11:18
ethan its:twisted:
for evil laugh
May 16, 2009 at 11:19
That is very true franchise… they couldn’t play nicely.
Ethan, then you found home! haha!
May 16, 2009 at 11:20
All I want is 100% effort from all the players. Just so long as there no passengers on the pitch.
As far as the lineup is concerned, I am a little nervous about Fabianski, especially if we play a high line. Would like to see Vela get a run out.
May 16, 2009 at 11:20
pedro cant you fuck the link off our site to theirs and vice versa????
May 16, 2009 at 11:20
Now as we move on in the calm after the storm my offerings are
I want a trophy I want a trophy I want a trophy I want a trophy I want a trophy I want a trophy
May 16, 2009 at 11:20
Ethan/PDT,
I find it amusing on ACLF.I only ever posted a couple of comments on there a good few weeks back, and as you say I got mullered and sworn at.Yes a good author, but no control on there.Abuse is the norm.
We must leave a lasting impression as they are for ever talking about some of us.A certain poster who was banned on LG has stirred it up good and proper today, without any provocation.(I dont mean QOS)
pedro, you are quite right in what you say,but why do they get personal with us,shows you they have nothing worthwhile to talk about themselves.Time to move on.
May 16, 2009 at 11:21
PDT solution to what..?seriously i’m lost..
May 16, 2009 at 11:21
franchise he said if you play nadal at tennis you lose but you are still a good player
he was comparing united with him
its just another excuse he loves them at the moment
i dont think he should talk anymore he is obviously gonna stay so he should shutup and get on with it now….
May 16, 2009 at 11:24
I’m not saying he hasn’t, but can you tell me when Vela put in a good performance in an important game and I don’t mean the CC. You know, when it really mattered or came on and changed things.
I just do not see him being anywhere near the level required and he is the most one footed player I have seen since Nutty! Next season, with Rosicky fit(lol) and Traore back too, I don’t see him getting many games and I would give him a season loan in the PL.
May 16, 2009 at 11:24
i understand that zorro but its more excuses and it is taking the heat off the real problem so in my eyes its taking the piss and united are beatable we were poor nadal and united are not the same thing…
he should stop talking this bullshit i want real answers not deflections…..
May 16, 2009 at 11:25
Mayank 10:40 post.
May 16, 2009 at 11:28
Kirby, agreed, but I don’t think it’s an excuse. We beat the mancs at home and hopefully away, but got caned in the SF. Nadal will lose a few matches here and there, but will still be world #1 at the end of the season.
The whole point is we need to see him doing what needs doing to get us back to the top.
Buy some players
Offload some
Sort out the back 4
Sort out the formation
May 16, 2009 at 11:28
the truth is arsenal suffered a very humiliating defeat to man u over two legs and he could have either said to the players that you are shit or they are good..i think he preferred the latter..im sure he must have showed the where they made mistakes..
May 16, 2009 at 11:34
I’m off to get some caffeine before the game! 3-1 to the Arsenal!
May 16, 2009 at 11:34
well my solution is sit the summer out..wait and see what changes/additions have been made to the squad..cause saying wenger out! or offload the players isn’t going to achieve anything..there should be constructive criticism but no name calling..esp no AKBing…the club is bigger than the players or manager but booing them/calling for their head isn’t the solution..there is a small possibility that this may actually be heard and the players and manager just might fuck off..what would that leave us with an expensive stadium, little money and more name calling..
May 16, 2009 at 11:34
Just had a look on ACLF, blimey that Frank bloke does not like LG and certain members does he?
May 16, 2009 at 11:35
I just read through the comments, Timao, this is for you, the classy Leeds fans you talk about were standing the whole game, we aren’t allowed to, they were also still in it at 1-1.
We were fucking hammered and at 3 nil down, had no chance, same with the chav game, once it went to 4 what was the point.
If we were one goal in it I’m sure we would still have had a full house, we were so shit that day I’m not surprised we were empty at the end.
May 16, 2009 at 11:37
ACLF is a very nicely written blog but the problem is that anyone with an opinion that differs from the popular consensus is shot down..le grove allows both sides to be heard although there is the occasional shoot out here too..
May 16, 2009 at 11:38
Zorro
Vela hasnt had the chance yet. Are you seriously writing him off already? He is a fantastic finisher come on hes just learning the game
Come on hes young hes lively, and hes gonna be a massive arsenal player.
May 16, 2009 at 11:39
ZorrO that would still all be on here had I not kicked them off, they are like dumped birds, stalkers.
He only gets the comments he gets because they talk about us all day, sad bastards.
May 16, 2009 at 11:39
pedro like i said earlier i don’t blame anyone for leaving that day..but also you can’t expect an istanbul if there are no fans to witness it..
May 16, 2009 at 11:40
Mayank only when someone insults someone, if I’m around I don’t allow that, it protects people from being intimidated by blog bullies.
May 16, 2009 at 11:41
Mayank that was my comment not Pedro’s, I used his computer.
There was no chance of an Istanbul that day, we had given up after 7 minutes.
May 16, 2009 at 11:42
incesc, don’t call me an idiot! Your opinion differs from mine that’s all.
Did I write him off? I said he is not ready and needs a season long, or at least to Jan loan in the PL to get him regular games, match sharp and used to being bullied.
May 16, 2009 at 11:42
if Utd pick up the tittle today.. and i think they will today..
i want the arsenal players to see what goes on on the picth and let that be the fire that gets used for next season.
Bcos if that was me. that would give me alot of motivation to make sure i try to win the league next season.
May 16, 2009 at 11:42
yeah i know there is generally more conducive an atmosphere for posting here on le grove, due to the absence of the bullies..
May 16, 2009 at 11:42
i dont hold much hope for today …
they are home and have too much to play for ..
it would be the upset of the season if we filleted them in front of there own fans ..
it would be PRICELESS !
but can i see it happening ?
no in all honesty i cant…
they have too much to play for and we have nothing but pride to play for …
there are too many factors against us currently.
and nothing to play for is the main one ..
on a differing note this is interesting however
(BBC)
——————-
Arsene Wenger has admitted that if Arsenal do not end their trophy drought in the next “one or two years” his strategy for the club will have failed.
——————-
ALSO RAFFA has pointed out why man U is so successful…
hmmmm it has to do with SPENDING MONEY ..go figure
—————————————
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez believes the amount of money that title rivals Manchester United have to spend is the key difference between the teams.
United need one point from their final two games to win the Premier League title, but Benitez does not think there is a level playing field.
“You have seen that with regard to Chelsea before, spending big money,” added Benitez.
“The advantage United have is that they have a big squad, in the last years they have spent money to improve that squad even more.
(WE COULD HAVE DONE THAT AT ARSENAL)
“They have spent big on top-class players, so they can make mistakes and they can change players. When we won there, they had Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Dimitar Berbatov on the bench.
May 16, 2009 at 11:44
your comment seemed to suggest you were writing off a young player who has been faantastic every time wenger has called on him.
sorry about the idiot bit but im getting a bit pissed off with arsenal fans slating their own players.
May 16, 2009 at 11:44
Who Wants to bet Arshavin will be on the bench today?
and the TogoTwat gets a start
May 16, 2009 at 11:45
incesc ”what do you expect when half of them is not good enough or gives a half arsed effort.
May 16, 2009 at 11:45
I know it didn’t look it at all..all im saying is that the fans who did leave should not crib for lack of fightback..what they can crib about is that the team made too many early mistakes..many fans stayed back for the chelsea game..and at 3-1 it started looking a game again before the ref fucked us for the 4th..could have easily been 3-3 i reckon..
May 16, 2009 at 11:46
ZorrO I altered the comment, all sorted now.
May 16, 2009 at 11:47
If I said he was shit, fair enough, but I said he was very one footed, which is simply a fact. There have been several games where he has been far from fantastic, take it from me. He has potential, but he could just be another Reyes. Needs very careful development now to get to the next level.
Franchise getting a pasting on ACLF! And I thought you lot were bad, lol.
May 16, 2009 at 11:48
Incesc if we all agreed on all the players it would get a little boring.
May 16, 2009 at 11:48
INCESC ,
i agree there’s some players to crow about and others need selling(ade, diaby), vela is definitely one with a future … ramsey and theo also .. still not 1st team material , but im sure that day will come sooner rather than later …
May 16, 2009 at 11:49
geoff, not a problem, idiot’s not bad and I have been called worse. You called me an AKB a few months back, lol.
May 16, 2009 at 11:49
mayank if u say wenger should be backed irrespective of what his policies are then that is a dictatorship. i want players to prove me wrong, i want diaby on the left to prove me wrong, i want 4-5-1 to prove me wrong, i want arsene to prove me wrong. cos it wld all be for the benefit of arsenal. believe me its mostly been me being right.
last season i believed we could win the league but i wanted us to sign anelka or woodgate in january cos i felt we were going to run out of gas as we have done several times under wenger.
last summer i wanted him to keep the team together and sign a player in case rosicky didnt return guess what we lost lehmann, hleb, flamini, gilberto and we signed nasri, bischoff and ramsey.
in january i wanted him to sign 2 players at least i was happy with one. just imagine we didnt sign arshavin
May 16, 2009 at 11:51
ant links for today dudes
May 16, 2009 at 11:52
I want to see some pride for the shirt today. The result doesn’t really matter as much. Give me a performance. And by that I mean fight and desire as well as good football. Where’s this character I keep hearing about.
I want to see them play for their places / contract next season. Nobody should feel safe.
Next season starts today.
May 16, 2009 at 11:53
Good point ZorrO, Franchise good morning mate!
May 16, 2009 at 11:54
Theo on soccer AM…
May 16, 2009 at 11:55
Geoff
You have star status on ACLF. They hang off every word you write. You are the villian they all want to hate. Like dirty Den off East Enders. Geoff everyone knows you in Arsenal blog world. You are a star
May 16, 2009 at 11:55
Theo just said the fans are brilliant.
He’ll get in trouble for that
May 16, 2009 at 11:57
Ha, ha Gnarley, they are such sad bastards aren’t they!
I bet they hate it that I never comment on their site.
May 16, 2009 at 11:58
you altered depressing idiot, thanks?
Vela has been fantastic when he has played this season given that it is his first season in england and his age to say he isnt up to it is short sighted
May 16, 2009 at 11:58
Geoff your a star, don’t let it go to your head
do you think anyone from the club reads blogs like ours?
May 16, 2009 at 11:58
No franchise..i believe its a matter of looking out for the best possible solution..im not an AKB though it may seem to some i am..i just believe its more practical to have faith and back the players n the manager at this moment..if you think of it objectively the only practical solution with most chances of progressing is backing the man who’s done it before and the players he has confidence in..if at any juncture i believe that wenger going would be the more profitable thing then ill fight as strongly for that..
May 16, 2009 at 11:58
On ACLF more than 75% of comments are about how negative other blogs are, & 20% are about Arsenal. The other 5% are by Grovers.
May 16, 2009 at 11:59
Geoff for a fee you might do it maybe
May 16, 2009 at 12:01
There is one nutter on ACLF who says people must never question the Furhrer
I mean Gaffer/club ever. I bet he does the goose step as he heads off to the dole office
May 16, 2009 at 12:03
1200: TEAMS Man Utd v Arsenal
Man Utd: Van der Sar, O’Shea, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Ronaldo, Fletcher, Carrick, Giggs, Rooney, Tevez. Subs: Kuszczak, Neville, Anderson, Berbatov, Park, Scholes, Rafael Da Silva.
Arsenal: Fabianski, Sagna, Toure, Song Billong, Gibbs, Nasri, Denilson, Diaby, Fabregas, Arshavin, van Persie. Subs: Mannone, Vela, Walcott, Ramsey, Silvestre, Bendtner, Eboue.
May 16, 2009 at 12:03
ok incesc, as you couldn’t let it go. There are lots of fans who want to see more of Vela and think he will be the answer next season.
In my opinion, he is a long way away. Yes he finished really well against Sheff Utd and Wigan. What about fucking Burnley then? When we needed him to spark something against Stoke, he was bullied. He only has one foot.
He is not ready. End of. You think he is not far away. That is your opinion. have I called you an idiot? I’m finished unless you fancy an argument?
May 16, 2009 at 12:03
lol.. no adebayor!!!!
May 16, 2009 at 12:03
GG9
May 16, 2009 at 12:03
i’ve posted on ACLF once(a fairly positive post) and the thing that struck me the most was how they just don’t allow a second opinion to be heard..even honest ones..but there are some intelligent posters there and the posts(YW’s) are of a good standard..
May 16, 2009 at 12:04
No DJ or Gerry3goals? Interesting; not like manure have a big CF that you need Song to go up against.
May 16, 2009 at 12:05
No Adebayor?
May 16, 2009 at 12:05
wow – Bye Ade. Enjoy your next contract, i mean club!
May 16, 2009 at 12:05
Good team I reckon!
May 16, 2009 at 12:05
not even on the bench pedro!!
May 16, 2009 at 12:06
Well it be the 4-5-1 or a 4-4-2 with Arshavin up front with RvP?
May 16, 2009 at 12:06
I agree…
May 16, 2009 at 12:06
Diaby again!!he better put in a MOTM performance today..
May 16, 2009 at 12:06
oh sorry, thought I was on ACLF.
May 16, 2009 at 12:06

May 16, 2009 at 12:10
No ade so the Q & A may have worked. We are all in this together, well maybe not ade now
May 16, 2009 at 12:10
Fabianski, Sagna, Toure, Song Billong, Gibbs, Nasri, Denilson, Diaby, Fabregas, Arshavin, van Persie. Subs: Mannone, Vela, Walcott, Ramsey, Silvestre, Bendtner, Eboue.
May 16, 2009 at 12:10
what position does ballack play dcm or acm
May 16, 2009 at 12:10
Zorro your talking crap. Vela has only got one foot? Its a laughable argument.
To be honest i cant even be bothered arguing with you, im sure you will be at the grove next season booing him, you are the sort of fan arsene was talking about.
May 16, 2009 at 12:10
Song in defence Ade has not travelled Djouro injured Theo on the bench
May 16, 2009 at 12:11
Guaranteed 4-5-1! We’re gonna get a hiding!
Should have gone:
Fabianksi
Eboue – Toure – Song – Gibbs
Walcott – Nasri – Fabregas – Vela
van Persie – Arshavin
May 16, 2009 at 12:11
diaby has to have a blinder!!
May 16, 2009 at 12:11
used to acm now dcm(dirty central MFer)
May 16, 2009 at 12:11
Fab in the hole again??!!!!!
You are kidding me. Has he learnt nothing in the last month?
May 16, 2009 at 12:11
RVP lone striker
May 16, 2009 at 12:11
if ade goes to chelski, would anelka be a good exchange with gooners? IMO I would love him back. He refused to celebrate his goal against us, so what say you all
May 16, 2009 at 12:11
think song could be a good cb in the mix next year imo
May 16, 2009 at 12:12
No adebayor. I defo reckon he’ll be gone in the summer. Good riddance. I also think we’ll only spend the money from his transfer.
May 16, 2009 at 12:12
TAIG walcott was anonymous against the manc’s in the CL.. good to see him sitting this one out
May 16, 2009 at 12:12
walcott narsi fab vela mid..who’d track back we are playing away..with a patched up defence..
May 16, 2009 at 12:13
Diaby should be behind the striker. He played there when we beat them at our place as caused them all sorts of problems.
May 16, 2009 at 12:13
incesc; well you watch him carefully next season at West Ham and tell me I’m wrong then.
I don’t boo my own players. Don’t judge me when you do not know me in the slightest.
May 16, 2009 at 12:14
If Adebayor stays then i would definately send Vela on loan for the 1st half of the season because it would mean he’d have more chance to bed in to the EPL. Any of u tipping ARSHAVIN to overshadow RONALDO 2day?
May 16, 2009 at 12:14
id take ballack don’t like the man much but his a big cunt and dirty just what we need and the right age so the kids can learn but not have him around to long and alex is the same. them two plus 10 mil for ade what you all think?
May 16, 2009 at 12:14
fab nasri diaby arsh should keep switching postions like the good ol days..it’ll cause them headaches..no-one does that any more..
May 16, 2009 at 12:15
Incesc you have to stop the slagging and we don’t call our own idiots.
May 16, 2009 at 12:15
I’d like alex..or even ivanovic..
May 16, 2009 at 12:16
with that team, if it is a 4-5-1, then hope we play
Cesc-Diaby-Denilson as our midfield three
with
RvP-Nasri-Arshavin as out attacking three
Anyway, our season begins here and hope we are admirable in our performance today!
May 16, 2009 at 12:17
Interesting interview with Red Nose there.
He says they’re friends and have a respect. He was almost sympathetic about our injuries.
Easy to be nice when we’re not taking trophies off them anymore
May 16, 2009 at 12:17
Yesterday Wenger said we had no new injuries
May 16, 2009 at 12:18
Adebayor is gone in the summer. Remember Parlour said something about Adebayor’s interview at 2pm being very interesting? There could be something behind this. Ooh the excitement!
May 16, 2009 at 12:18
this must be a great day for the anti-Ade camp lol
May 16, 2009 at 12:18
they being red nose and the deity known as Wenger
May 16, 2009 at 12:19
Ade to Chelsea. Do we want that?
May 16, 2009 at 12:19
Exactly maq.
Old whisky nose knows we’re not a threat anymore. That’s why his hatred has switched to rafa gervais.
May 16, 2009 at 12:19
Mandanda
Yep Today the Pheonix rises from the flames, surely we can’t lose 3 in a row to manure. We will be no better than Newcastle last year when they played us 3 times in a week & got flogged 3 times
May 16, 2009 at 12:21
song, denilson and diaby in the same team is a big no no for me.
May 16, 2009 at 12:22
maq anywhere.. i don’t care .. as long as he is not in red and white anymore.
May 16, 2009 at 12:22
gg9
its been a painful healing period hope…i believe it’ll be worth and today is where the story starts…i wldn’t be too disappointed if we lost for the reasons i and other bloggers have made all season…what i’d like to see is a good performance, a victory would be a bonus to be frank
May 16, 2009 at 12:23
ade interview on bbc 1 now
May 16, 2009 at 12:23
Ade on football focus NOW
May 16, 2009 at 12:24
cant understand him at all
May 16, 2009 at 12:25
what is he saying?!?!
May 16, 2009 at 12:25
With no Ferdinand, I would have played Bendtner to keep Vidic occupied, leaving Evans to cope with the support striker, which he couldn’t!
May 16, 2009 at 12:26
I’d have come here for free.
Yeah, but you wanted 80 grand to stay though.
Twat.
May 16, 2009 at 12:27
i dont like ade as a player
but history tells us he could have won us the game today, its a shame people like zorro have made it impossible to play for us again.
May 16, 2009 at 12:27
They should subtitle this.
May 16, 2009 at 12:27
we’re playing w/o a striker!!..one of ade or bendy shoulda been there..
May 16, 2009 at 12:27
Slagged Evra for calling us babies. Good.
May 16, 2009 at 12:28
incesc, now you are just behaving like a twat!
May 16, 2009 at 12:28
Choy – About Walcott sitting out….its a shame he hasn’t applied the same logic to Bendtner I guess! 3 goals in 3 games!
May 16, 2009 at 12:28
he said they knew they were going to lose against Chelsea in the FA cup SF after 10 minutes
You fucking what?
Our problems are deep.
May 16, 2009 at 12:29
ade is shit and could have won the game if he bothered and history has shown us he aint
May 16, 2009 at 12:29
Good to see Kolo Undermining Cesc in the pre-match pep talk! We need a real leader in there!
May 16, 2009 at 12:29
Boo Rin and Fab? WHat the fuck is he on about!
May 16, 2009 at 12:29
Robin
May 16, 2009 at 12:29
Who is excited?
Are we feeling a win yet?
May 16, 2009 at 12:30
Ade didn’t sound like a confident sportsman.
listen to Keown now
May 16, 2009 at 12:31
Keown: Arsenal fans are fair and honest. Ade sounds like a troubled man
Give that man a job!
May 16, 2009 at 12:31
Incesc… leave it out.
Read the rules of engagement… because you’re on the verge of a red if you continue knocking people.
May 16, 2009 at 12:33
he is more understandable than Rooney…if u can understand Rooney or Gerard than I can’t see why you can’t understand Ade
From the interview, it is pretty clear he might be off.
May 16, 2009 at 12:33
The manc confidence is too high… the fans are being complacent… that bodes well!
May 16, 2009 at 12:33
sorry all
still think its idiotic to slate young players like vela but hey, look we’ve driven adebayor out the club
im off to watch the game
peace
May 16, 2009 at 12:34
Sir Alex Ferguson on criticism of Arsene Wenger: “It’s the culture we’re in I’m afraid. You lose a few games and the hounds are out. The press have to have headlines – but when the expectations as high as they are for Arsene and myself, it’s hard to live up to them every year. But Arsenal have had a lot of injuries this season and people forget that.”
Im keen to get your reaction on that.
Are they in a relationship?
May 16, 2009 at 12:34
RVP owes us a game today
May 16, 2009 at 12:35
incesc i dotn think anyone can slate Vela because he hasnt had the oppertunity..
if if i’ve helped driver ade out of the club SOMEONE COME PAT ME ON THE BACK!
May 16, 2009 at 12:35
One of various things could have happened.
Ade could have had a mental breakdown after the criticism from fans and shareholders.
Ade could have had a bust-up with Wenger regarding his transfers.
Ade could have had a bust-up with Wenger regarding us fans and our ‘disrespect’ for him.
Ade could have had a bust-up with another player, possibly Bendtner.
Ade could just be injured?
May 16, 2009 at 12:36
well if they are Rizzy SAF is the “pitcher!”
May 16, 2009 at 12:36
Wenger looks a broken man…
May 16, 2009 at 12:36
Im the most impatient guy in the world and i support a club that DEMANDS ultimate patience..
Life is hard.. lol.
May 16, 2009 at 12:36
Good to know that fans do have a say after all eh!
May 16, 2009 at 12:36
incesc ade is a cunt and good his going,im over the moon
May 16, 2009 at 12:37
Incesc… Ade drove himself out the club last summer when he disrespected the club and the fans… then performed poorly this year.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion… if you don’t agree… state why… then move on.
May 16, 2009 at 12:37
incesc,
Ade’s actions have driven himself out of the club.
I am hardly going to sit here and blow smoke up his arse after he pimped himself across Europe last summer, still somehow managed to get a payrise, put in the bare minimum effort all season and now we should feel grateful for his presence.
I hope I never see the cunt in an Arsenal Shirt again.
May 16, 2009 at 12:38
Pat… I reckon the last straw was him talking about Milan… the telling Wenger he needs to bolster the squad!
Lets blame the fans though…
May 16, 2009 at 12:38
spot on pat i was ready to forgive and forget but he never wanted it that way
May 16, 2009 at 12:39
Wenger said Ade has a groin problem. Ade doesn’t travel.
The fact that Ade is interviewed on Football Focus speaks volumes.
Ade’s people would have arranged that, probably after they knew he wasn’t travelling to Manchester.
They would have chosen Football Focus cos it goes out just before kick off. I’m sure it was a dig at the fans and the management.
May 16, 2009 at 12:39
I tell you one thing… Le Grove wont take any responsibility for Ade getting the elbow… Geoff and I have always been pretty supportive of him.
May 16, 2009 at 12:41
No Togo Twat then, surely this means the end of his time here. Id rather he went abroad as with our history ex players always score against us.
So what did he say on Football focus, did he sound like a player on the way out ? Any owrd from Wenger as to why the Togo Twat isn’t even in the squad ?
May 16, 2009 at 12:41
2-1 to the mighty goon squad!
May 16, 2009 at 12:41
Maq… Chelsea or Milan is the big question.
I’d imagine he’ll go to whoever offers us the best part ex.
May 16, 2009 at 12:41
COME ON ARSENAL!
May 16, 2009 at 12:41
Pedro – I haven’t! Ade’s a money hungry, poor performing, gutless prick! I’ll now move on……
May 16, 2009 at 12:42
here’s a link
http://www.freedocast.com/mysports3
May 16, 2009 at 12:42
what so annoying about our formation is i think
NASRI FAB ARSHAVIN
RVP
IS FUCKIN LETHAL!
but behind that.. o lord.
May 16, 2009 at 12:42
Come on Arsenal.
May 16, 2009 at 12:45
‘pimping players’ is what agents do…its not an Ade thing its a player thing…i guess we all react differently to situations…i wasn’t pertubed about last summer’s antics as long as he delivered…whilst he has delivered the number of goals i expected his work rate has dropped…based on his performances and the continuing angst of some fans i suppose it wld be mutually beneficial for Ade to move on…mind you, based on performances a few other should follow him out too (and I’m not referring to Denilson or Song either)
ahhh now i’ll move on
May 16, 2009 at 12:45
Today i acutally wish ramsey was in for denilson. not because i do not rate denilson, but do i really what to attack them.
May 16, 2009 at 12:46
im sort of glad ade is going but some of the fans have been very undignified and im embarrassed by it
May 16, 2009 at 12:46
I think its going to be CHelsea. Keown said Milan didn’t have the money last summer.
Maybe if Citeh go in for Kaka again, or they get big money from somewhere.
I’d rather see him at Milan. Don’t want to see his sorry ass week in week out
May 16, 2009 at 12:46
“Man Utd need a point, Arsenal need to make a point”
I like. Possibly re-wording for tomorrows post Pedro/Geoff? After our 4-2 win?
May 16, 2009 at 12:47
I want to atttack them relentlessly.
May 16, 2009 at 12:49
This is already tragic!
May 16, 2009 at 12:51
2-0 to the Arsenal. Both goals from Van Persie I reckon. An Arshavin set-up and a solo goal from Van the Man.
May 16, 2009 at 12:54
Thank God Diaby is in the advanced role and Cesc is Deep….took a while for that one to be figured out
May 16, 2009 at 12:55
diabys a clown wherever he plays.
May 16, 2009 at 12:58
This is why i dont like Denilson and Cesc partnership…Denilson tries to be the string puller but his touch is nowhere near as precise at Cesc’s
Lets hope that is different today….
May 16, 2009 at 12:58
Fabregas lacks any fight, grit and determination….
May 16, 2009 at 12:58
someone needs to break the winkers leg. He’ll realise what pain is then. Do him the world of good.
May 16, 2009 at 12:59
Paul…Believe me I know, but at least hes not in the center like he finds his way to sometimes
May 16, 2009 at 12:59
Nightman
Less chance of his little dribbles in our pen box as well.
May 16, 2009 at 13:01
Arshavin not yet involved after 10 mins…
We’ll keep an eye on his involvment
May 16, 2009 at 13:02
Diaby is useless, i’m not gonna keep saying it but he really is useless.
May 16, 2009 at 13:02
bendtner would have has that.
May 16, 2009 at 13:03
That is exactly why Bendtner should be our first striker right now ……because he’s on fucking form and no one else is!
May 16, 2009 at 13:04
Arshavin’s first real involvement and time on the ball in min. 14…..creates perfect goal chance for RVP
1 for 1
May 16, 2009 at 13:04
yes arshavin someone driving havent seen that since henry
May 16, 2009 at 13:05
Second involvement….VERY dangerous run into ManU box…threatens goal again
2 for 2
May 16, 2009 at 13:06
Fabianski was completely ball watching there!
May 16, 2009 at 13:06
Playing well so far.Toure a rock 59% possesion
May 16, 2009 at 13:07
that was such a late call and vidic’s head was down by his knees!
May 16, 2009 at 13:11
Great dive Alex
May 16, 2009 at 13:12
well done Song
May 16, 2009 at 13:12
silvestre was asking eboue if it was upto his standards.
May 16, 2009 at 13:12
man utd on top at the moment!we’r only get a little sniff so far…utd’s frontline are dangerous while Arshavin is looking sharp.
May 16, 2009 at 13:13
Shit!
May 16, 2009 at 13:13
Defend this
May 16, 2009 at 13:13
phew….
May 16, 2009 at 13:13
Haha
May 16, 2009 at 13:14
wtf ronaldo just jumped into Song there
May 16, 2009 at 13:14
that fight they just showed to win the ball where is that normally
May 16, 2009 at 13:16
At least they fighting…But sadly it’s just matter of time until Manure score…
May 16, 2009 at 13:16
This ref would like to see Utd win today I think! Must be the pressure!
May 16, 2009 at 13:16
sagna shouldn’t even bother trying to cross the ball.
May 16, 2009 at 13:17
For all his faults Denilson is a battler
May 16, 2009 at 13:17
that ball went off.
May 16, 2009 at 13:25
Stand up you fucking pussy!
May 16, 2009 at 13:25
change you studs rvp
May 16, 2009 at 13:25
*your
May 16, 2009 at 13:26
Presumably Nasri knows were playing in yellow today!!!!
May 16, 2009 at 13:26
You know, we have no fucking pace in attack in this team….
May 16, 2009 at 13:27
kolo, superb today.
May 16, 2009 at 13:27
I’d never thought I’d be saying this but that Slow Dutch striker needs to work on his hold up play
May 16, 2009 at 13:30
Well played Denilson you sloppy prick, and double marks for just jogging back….
May 16, 2009 at 13:31
Well played Denilson…..
May 16, 2009 at 13:32
Fuck off Rooney you fucking retard, how is it he doesnt get booked for abusive language????
May 16, 2009 at 13:33
fat headed cunt.
May 16, 2009 at 13:34
oh, who else. stupid diving prick.
May 16, 2009 at 13:34
the sooner he’s out of english football the better.
May 16, 2009 at 13:36
Fucking hilarious, ManUre fans chanting ’same old Arsenal, always cheating’ and they’ve got that slimey Portuguese cunt in their team!
May 16, 2009 at 13:36
didn’t touch him. Ref is a twat. Even gray says it.
May 16, 2009 at 13:36
get ready for more Ronaldo praise!
May 16, 2009 at 13:36
Wanker!
May 16, 2009 at 13:37
or not
This ref has definitely got a score on Utd winning today!
May 16, 2009 at 13:37
Do some of these refs get a winners medal
May 16, 2009 at 13:37
Great rush defending from the lads.
May 16, 2009 at 13:38
Denilson is playing a blinder!
A bit stagnant overall… no one is going for it are they?
A last 20 type game I reckon!
May 16, 2009 at 13:38
Once again, plenty of the ball, but we fail to look threatening, their goalkeeper has had nowt to do. They, on the other hand look threatening every time they move forward…
May 16, 2009 at 13:38
i expect to see anderson on for giggs in the second half
May 16, 2009 at 13:39
every year at old trafford.
remember their free kick last year that Hargreaves scroed from. Absolutely nothing.
And why doesn’t Ronaldo get booked for askingt he ref to book someone?
I can’t stand that shit. Just ref teh game fairly mate. They don’t need any leg ups for fuck sake
May 16, 2009 at 13:39
rvp: sorry mate i bloked the shot
nasri: wtf shit happens *shrugs*
May 16, 2009 at 13:39
put nikki b on!!!
May 16, 2009 at 13:39
Manyoo know they’ve been in a game…..we’ve had a good performance so far…..just shows us we don’t need Ade..
May 16, 2009 at 13:39
*blocked
May 16, 2009 at 13:40
I fucking hate that fucking cunt ronaldo…And mike fucking Dean is a cunt also…Fucking Man utd bought the FA. Fucking cheaters!
May 16, 2009 at 13:40
someone said it before. We lack pace up front.
Lets try Theo up top with RVP in place of Diaby/Denilson/Nasri
There’s nothing to be lost today so why not!
May 16, 2009 at 13:41
Lets hope we can get a late 1-0.
May 16, 2009 at 13:42
i think we tried Theo and we know how that turned out
May 16, 2009 at 13:42
Maq, RvP was the 2nd fastest player at the last Euro’s… it’s great balls into the box he needs… but a partner up top would help!
May 16, 2009 at 13:43
lets hope ronaldo fuck off to spain this time, diving cunt.
May 16, 2009 at 13:43
I didn’t know that Pedro. How did they measure that?
But he doesn’t seem to strip defenders though. And he dosn’t run behind them either.
May 16, 2009 at 13:44
I hope RVP swaps his ice skates for some boots at half time.
May 16, 2009 at 13:44
oh look.
MUTV is on channel 401 as well today
May 16, 2009 at 13:45
Maq… they just recorded it the same way they record distance run.
The only player faster was Ollic.
May 16, 2009 at 13:45
So how shite has Van Persie been up front by himself aye? Cant even seem to run without slipping…makes Ade look like Pele.
May 16, 2009 at 13:46
David, the fact that he is running would make him better than Ade.
May 16, 2009 at 13:46
Abdul it was going wide
May 16, 2009 at 13:46
If its a case of Running then Walcott is our best player.
May 16, 2009 at 13:47
Van persie as lone striker never wroks bcause centre backs just bully him. How many times as he been on the floor?
Plus he is not fast….Manure a playing deep anyway all they want is a draw.
I think for next year we switch to 4-3-3 for big games. We are playing some form of 4-3-3 right now.
But if Ade goes we should Pogrebnyak in who can lead the line….with RVP cutting in from the right. That might work.
We can start next season off with Walcott through the centre..then in January we get Pogreb for the run in…or buy him in the summer since he will be cheap.
May 16, 2009 at 13:47
So they just take the top speed measurement Pedro?
Thats doesn’t account for acceleration though and change of pace is really how you’ll beat a man.
May 16, 2009 at 13:47
holding on at the moment, just hope Fergie does not inspire them like the scum game!
Difference between now and 2 seasons ago is that you could see us maybe nicking a goal and holding firm at the back, but this time I am not so confident about either of thos things.
Some due to injuries, some due to formation, some due to players being off form.
May 16, 2009 at 13:47
Unbelievable miss with that free header….unbelievable…and V.P wants 90K a week? LOL.
May 16, 2009 at 13:48
lulz is it??
May 16, 2009 at 13:48
It’s all going on in midfield…that’s what we’re doing clogging it up and trying to work it through…..and how many shots on target have Manyoo had so far?
May 16, 2009 at 13:48
Well I guess RVP must have some speed then….but still he is too weak to play by himself..Vidic and company are just mauling him.
May 16, 2009 at 13:49
none finest
May 16, 2009 at 13:50
Calm down guys. I have been impressed by our team today. I think Arshavin can weave a bit of magic and score a goal. If not we just have to keep passing, and hope to split there defence in half with a through ball.
May 16, 2009 at 13:50
I’m quite please with this performance. I just think, the way we play, we need a better quality striker.
I love RvP but I think its because of what he could be, not what he’s doing now.
May 16, 2009 at 13:51
RVP was the second fastest player at Euro 2008??
incredible
May 16, 2009 at 13:51
I understand but we really need to stop the crossing with Sagna…NOBODY is in the United box…NObody…who is he crossing to??
May 16, 2009 at 13:52
Exactly Kevin, we’ve got to keep it tight, we can’t open up or they’ll rip us to shreds, we’ve got to wait for a good through ball opportunity, keep it on the ground, play it short.
May 16, 2009 at 13:53
Well its a scrappy game cuz Manure are playing it safe. Everyone is behind the ball except for Teves.
We need to learn how to nick a scrappy goal in games like these….I guess that show you become champions by winning ugly games like these.
I hope we get a late goal so that Manure have no time to respond.
May 16, 2009 at 13:53
Now that’s what I am talking about! We are playing!!
If we play this way in the second half and lose to Nadal, I have no complaints!
May 16, 2009 at 13:53
i think Arshavin summed up his adjustment to the EPL really when he said that sometimes he feels like he can do well other times he feels like he can’t (paraphrasing of course)…that sums up his first half performance for me
May 16, 2009 at 13:54
JA
I hope we get an early goal now…and then one more late on to kill of the game.
May 16, 2009 at 13:54
Arshavin was inches away from a penlaty when he weaved through three mancs! Armband for Arshavin!!!!
May 16, 2009 at 13:55
I fucking hate Manchester United…Fabregas didnt touch him…and neither did Arshavin…Wot the fack.
May 16, 2009 at 13:57
my god aren’t we a dirty team. 3 bookings to their none.
May 16, 2009 at 13:57
Stupid Fabregas
I hope this year brings him back down to Earth…
May 16, 2009 at 13:58
We are letting Evra know how much of babies we are
May 16, 2009 at 13:58
Evra scared of “children”
May 16, 2009 at 13:59

May 16, 2009 at 13:59

May 16, 2009 at 14:00

May 16, 2009 at 14:01
Thats fucking twice Tevez has gone through the back of Fabregas.
May 16, 2009 at 14:01

May 16, 2009 at 14:01

May 16, 2009 at 14:01
Thats two horrible tackles on Fabregas by Tevez.
May 16, 2009 at 14:01
love it.
Andy Gray. Can’t booking people just for a bit of contact.
For people ready Man U players
May 16, 2009 at 14:02
its at this point in the match, when Man U are a little relied is where we lack real leadership
May 16, 2009 at 14:02
Rooney has to drop back to protect Evra!
I’m going back to the telly!
May 16, 2009 at 14:02
*riled
May 16, 2009 at 14:03
Can we start buying refs too??
May 16, 2009 at 14:03
What the fuck does Diaby bring to this team
May 16, 2009 at 14:04
we can Irish but we’re scrouring Hackney Marshes in order to find the best talent for the future
May 16, 2009 at 14:05
Andy Gray is such a cunt!
May 16, 2009 at 14:05
Nasri’s was never a yellow
May 16, 2009 at 14:05
What a great dive….Great dive by Giggs…This bastard ref has given them direct free kicks of a “handballs” and dives…
May 16, 2009 at 14:06
How are we doing? I’m in between clients and I’ve only got the text on bbc. We’ve got afew bookings I see.
May 16, 2009 at 14:06
how many times will diaby lose the ball in a danger area before he learns
May 16, 2009 at 14:06
Walcott or Vela on for Diaby anyone?
May 16, 2009 at 14:07

May 16, 2009 at 14:09

May 16, 2009 at 14:10
Why isnt that a yellow on Giggs?
May 16, 2009 at 14:10
Great play by fabianski.
May 16, 2009 at 14:10
why dont giggs get booked
May 16, 2009 at 14:10
anyone else getting THAT feeling… like we might nick this?
May 16, 2009 at 14:11
Well done Fabianski
May 16, 2009 at 14:12
we need a new striker who is willing to attack balls in the box its obvious if we had someone like that look how good we would be
May 16, 2009 at 14:12
If Diaby had just a little more maturity he would one of the top players in the world
May 16, 2009 at 14:12
Ronaldo Nutmegged again by Gibbs…love it.
May 16, 2009 at 14:12
Guys guys guys “Why didn’t Giggs get booked?”
He plays for the Mancs of course – silly question….
May 16, 2009 at 14:12
we are doing well, we might not need to change…
but if we had to Bendtner for Diaby and RvP drops deeper or plays left forward
May 16, 2009 at 14:13
Clearly need to ge more people in the box.
May 16, 2009 at 14:15
nightman – a little more vision too, maybe a better brain, a better tackler, better control on hisd first touch, could pass the ball, didnt give it way stupidly
then he might be getting somewhere!
May 16, 2009 at 14:16
Booing?
Shit fans!!!!
May 16, 2009 at 14:17

May 16, 2009 at 14:19

May 16, 2009 at 14:19
Arshavin off, Diaby remains on!!
May 16, 2009 at 14:19
Yea Diaby is having one of his 1 out of 5 good games.
May 16, 2009 at 14:20
he did look a little jaded…maybe still got the swine stuff!
May 16, 2009 at 14:20
nooooooooo Nasri why take him off!
May 16, 2009 at 14:20
Arshavin probably wasn’t fit to play the full 90 – read somewhere he had that virus Sagna had
May 16, 2009 at 14:20
David – So you approve of taking Arshavin off, leaving Diaby on and playing Bentner on the wing????
May 16, 2009 at 14:21
Theo is playing down left???
May 16, 2009 at 14:21
lucky boy Sags
May 16, 2009 at 14:21
Least it wasn’t eboue that came on eh?
May 16, 2009 at 14:21
Bendtner looks like he plans to do some flying on the wings
May 16, 2009 at 14:22
Yea Arshy has been tackled off the ball a couple times and there…Bendy’s gives us more height and will get in the box..
May 16, 2009 at 14:22
Diaby, woeful yet again!
May 16, 2009 at 14:22
What a joke those substitutions were.
Wenger trying to make a point in taking off a Arshavin. Twat.
May 16, 2009 at 14:23
Van Persie needs to switch roles with Bendtner..
May 16, 2009 at 14:23
phew! well played ?? sagna
May 16, 2009 at 14:23
let me get this straight.
We’re in control of the game.
Up pops 70 mins so he feels compelled to makes some subs
Man U back in the game…
May 16, 2009 at 14:24
Irish, there’s still time for that to happen….
May 16, 2009 at 14:24
yeah, this game prob came to early for Arsh, still recovering from flu i think
May 16, 2009 at 14:25
Vidic handing Robbin his Arse all day…
May 16, 2009 at 14:25
So, so predictable…
May 16, 2009 at 14:25
Vidic is awesome though
May 16, 2009 at 14:25
cesc is having a poor game IMO
May 16, 2009 at 14:26
Dennis Weldone…You called it! Here comes Eboue
May 16, 2009 at 14:26
Eboue will have a hand in OUR winner!
May 16, 2009 at 14:26
Oh dear, i do hope that was for an injury….
May 16, 2009 at 14:26
Van P. is supposed to be awesome too…Fernando Torres shat on Vidic remember?
May 16, 2009 at 14:26
Gr8 improvement frm Arsenal they’r showing more balls, more fight.we need to show this consistently nxt year. Arshavin though faded away 2nd half…with eddy back nxt year things should be good
May 16, 2009 at 14:27
this ref is a cock
May 16, 2009 at 14:27
Someone shoot this fucking ref!
May 16, 2009 at 14:27

May 16, 2009 at 14:27
Maq you were right…in control…subs…not in control
May 16, 2009 at 14:27
Well played Song. You can’t help the ref being so shit.
I thought shuolder-shuolder was part of the game.
Have they re-invented the rules for Ronaldo?
May 16, 2009 at 14:28
Wtf Toure??
May 16, 2009 at 14:28
I think Gibbs had picked up a knock – no other reason he did well today I think
May 16, 2009 at 14:28
What the fuk did Toure do over there?
May 16, 2009 at 14:28
sometimes you do wonder what is going through kolo’s mind
May 16, 2009 at 14:29
David -we’ve seen what VP has done in the past, so he clearly isn’t shit is he? The whole team have issues right now not just RvP. Hes had one chance all game…not much else he could do, but he fights for the ball, more than other primdonnas for us…rather him than the togotwat any day
May 16, 2009 at 14:29
cmmon Franchise…Cesc is having one of his better performances this season we’ve certainly retained the ball better today esp in CM positions
May 16, 2009 at 14:29
David -we’ve seen what VP has done in the past, so he clearly isn’t shit is he? The whole team have issues right now not just RvP. Hes had one chance all game…not much else he could do, but he fights for the ball, more than other primdonnas for us…rather him than the togo any day
May 16, 2009 at 14:29
what do you think Ronaldo does in training.
I think he practices winning free kicks from what would normalled be fair tackle in the morning.
And then in the afternoon he’s taking free kicks.
I must say he’s very good at both!
May 16, 2009 at 14:30
ronaldo just bounced off him.. they’re just playing for the fouls and the ref is obliging.
beautiful attacking football.. yea right.
May 16, 2009 at 14:30
It’s called being fucking clueless….
May 16, 2009 at 14:30
“Song is booked for a body nudge on Ronaldo.”
oh please, I give up…
May 16, 2009 at 14:30
Good stuff song…Good Stuff….and what the shite Toure….
May 16, 2009 at 14:30
kolo is meant to be an experienced head????
May 16, 2009 at 14:31
Cesc is playing deeper and looking much better for it in my opinion. Its help him dictate the tempo.
May 16, 2009 at 14:31
Has their goalkeeper made a save yet??
May 16, 2009 at 14:32
come on arse
just one goal please please please
May 16, 2009 at 14:32
Cesc has done nuthin in this game
May 16, 2009 at 14:32
fuck Diaby, you slowed that down with another shit pass
May 16, 2009 at 14:32
We’re utterly clueless going forward.
May 16, 2009 at 14:32
cesc is playing like a baby
May 16, 2009 at 14:33
May 16, 2009 at 14:33
FUCK!!
May 16, 2009 at 14:33

May 16, 2009 at 14:34
Franchise – I was just thinking that!
May 16, 2009 at 14:34
we have only lost on game against the top four this season. Such a shame we lost to hull, stoke fulham…
May 16, 2009 at 14:35
thats a booking… no?
joker ref!
May 16, 2009 at 14:35
For all our possession it take 83 minutes to work their keeper……poor!
May 16, 2009 at 14:35
yea Paulinho
for all the greatness Wenger says we are going forward…its been pretty easy to defend us today….Im beggining to wonder what united have to do to get a yellow card.
May 16, 2009 at 14:35
seems to be going
May 16, 2009 at 14:35

May 16, 2009 at 14:38
Great Job Pink Boots i was begging to wonder where he was on the pitch.
May 16, 2009 at 14:38
has Fabianski made a save yet???
May 16, 2009 at 14:39
VP is and always has been overrated.
May 16, 2009 at 14:39
well song has given us some defensive stability.
May 16, 2009 at 14:39
United make it look so easy…what the feck is going on…
May 16, 2009 at 14:40
rvp was player of the month 3 months in a row around xmas. Think he has lost form
May 16, 2009 at 14:40
3 minutes, c’mon you fucking lightweights…..
May 16, 2009 at 14:40

May 16, 2009 at 14:40

May 16, 2009 at 14:41
Fuks Sakes Robbin….Have you scored a freekick the whole damn season???
May 16, 2009 at 14:41

May 16, 2009 at 14:41
well played ref. You’ve been consistent I’l give you that
May 16, 2009 at 14:42
Well played ref, enjoy your free post match drink you cunt.
May 16, 2009 at 14:42
Wenger is taking this game very seriously I see. Sad.
May 16, 2009 at 14:42
well done mike dean.
May 16, 2009 at 14:42
right get ready to changes channels everyone, diagnosis murder is on the bbc
May 16, 2009 at 14:42
God if he doesn’t stop doing that Carrick is gonna be brain dead by the end of this match.
May 16, 2009 at 14:42
won’t watch anymore
May 16, 2009 at 14:42
Good performance from the team today. But you can’t help to feel like this was suppose to be the performance they should have been giving in the champions league.
Gutted is the word. Nice performance but at the wrong time…As always!
May 16, 2009 at 14:42
I dont know why the ManU fans would be worried…
Arsenal dont score unless Arshavin spoon feeds us a goal….
May 16, 2009 at 14:43
4 seconds left???
May 16, 2009 at 14:43
I’ll take that…..
May 16, 2009 at 14:43
I think we should buy someone like Villa and relegate RvP to second choice striker behind Villa and Bentner….
May 16, 2009 at 14:43
the made a sub and he blows the whistle at 92:57. wanker
May 16, 2009 at 14:43
Ahhhh fuck…
May 16, 2009 at 14:43
*clap* *clap* *clap* well done ref
May 16, 2009 at 14:43
that one legged cunt Van pussie should be shiped out along with that adebarndoor…get a some decent strikers Wenger
May 16, 2009 at 14:43
Well played Arsenal. Good effort.
May 16, 2009 at 14:43
DDM – Good shout!
May 16, 2009 at 14:44
Wenger will retort his usual bullshit about we played well today well of course they did Arsenal play well when they have nothing 2 play for. Last week against Chelsea we slaughtered them and still lost….. tells you a lot about this pathetic team. Man U last season and we lost as that game is well.
May 16, 2009 at 14:44
Fuck it, right i’ve switched off, can’t be arsed to hear all those sky cunts cum in their pants at how great ManUre are…..
May 16, 2009 at 14:44
Performance was ok… but ManU only came for a draw…
Oh well… role on Stoke… then next year.
May 16, 2009 at 14:44
how can they put 3 mins injury time up then make a sub and only play 92:57?
May 16, 2009 at 14:44
Won the tittle at our expense…HAhahaha….Unbearable.
May 16, 2009 at 14:44
Jesus if it wasn’t for RvP earlier in the season we’d be up shits creak FFS
May 16, 2009 at 14:44
Pretty decent performance. If only all matches had nothing riding on them, maybe we’d get somewhere.
May 16, 2009 at 14:44
That could have gone on for another 11 hours and we wouldnt have scored. At least we didnt get smashed.
May 16, 2009 at 14:45
cheating cunt of a ref.
3 mins injury time, my arse.
May 16, 2009 at 14:45
our players seem as happy as there’s…hope they are inspired
May 16, 2009 at 14:45
erm dev, come on we have driven one striker out this week lets not do it to another.
glad we played well, man u were always gonna win the league
May 16, 2009 at 14:46
because they’re happier when Man U win Paul
May 16, 2009 at 14:46
*theirs
May 16, 2009 at 14:46
man i cant wait for next season, thatsgonna be us celebrating
May 16, 2009 at 14:47
Well we didn’t get beaten, ….they defended and held out…..but we played a good game.
May 16, 2009 at 14:47
Well played Arsenal some pride restored
May 16, 2009 at 14:48
How dare Vela score against Portsmouth the other week eh.
He’s getting his just desserts – another spell on the bench. Just like he did when he scored earlier on in the season.
May 16, 2009 at 14:48
“incesc Says:
May 16, 2009 at 14:46
man i cant wait for next season, thatsgonna be us celebrating”
Ha ha ha, get real mate Wenger wont buy shit.
May 16, 2009 at 14:48
Mike Dean practically held their hand and walked them through it, cunt.
Arshavin was weak, probably still feeling the effects of his illness, been a long year for him, hopefully he’s right about his fitness for next year.
Song played well, Toure, Denilson did well.
May 16, 2009 at 14:48
At least the team reminded tehmselves that they can compete with these teams. I think thats important before next season starts!
May 16, 2009 at 14:49
incesc I hope you are right
May 16, 2009 at 14:49
So, if you look at that team and count Almunia, Gallas Rosicky and Clichy in, you could say replace Song with a fuck off CB and Diaby with a top striker and Denilson with a quality CM and you have a squad good enough to challenge 100%. 3 quality players Arsene, is that too much to ask.
86 minutes before RvP got a free kick out of their CB’s, I am sure with a proper CF there we would have got more, but then again with our shocking set pieces…….
Laters.
May 16, 2009 at 14:49
cmon the performance was good..n to all those saying that its ’cause man u only wanted a draw well if thats the case they’d have kept the ball more..defence held up today..shows what difference a good defence can make to possession..
but AA was right, they do play like machines..reckon if it was us in their position we’d have gone for the win..
May 16, 2009 at 14:49
PATHETIC…..90 mins for Diaby, Denlision. I hate this team. No guts or guile. No heart in supporting them. Why is it going to change.?
May 16, 2009 at 14:49
Well not sure if i should be impressed or pissed off . it seems wenger would rather play for the satisfaction of proving some Q & A critics wrong more over winning the C.L trophy ..
there definitely was a grittier approach to this game than recent ones ..
i think man U were coasting too in all honesty .
we never got close to a decent shot on goal bar cesc in the last 10 minutes ..
to me sums up what ive been saying all season
a CLINICAL STRIKER NEEDED asap.
May 16, 2009 at 14:50
Its simple. We arent good enough.
May 16, 2009 at 14:50
at least we played with some comitment, would have hated i if we never turned up the ref was utd best player.song looked good at the back again. The final 3rd needs work but not bad over all
fecking manc cunts
May 16, 2009 at 14:50
Funny old game really… it was a bit flat from both teams… Arsenal didn’t really care who won the title… ManU didn’t care if they won… as long as they didn’t lose.
Still, I can take a few happy thoughts away from that.
May 16, 2009 at 14:50
agree with david…
May 16, 2009 at 14:51
Zorro, I thought Denilson was great today.
May 16, 2009 at 14:51
how the fuck did we end with that many yellows? Cescs was the only one that deserved one and then Tevez retaliates and gets nothing!
still good effort
May 16, 2009 at 14:51
it was 90 mins for diaby n den cause they weren’t on a yellow..
May 16, 2009 at 14:51
Points from top 3 = 9
Points lost = 6
May 16, 2009 at 14:51
denilson & song players of the match…….. enough said
May 16, 2009 at 14:51
Afternoon Grovers,
Hannover 0 Wolfsburg 1 EDIN DZEKO Latest Score
NEED I SAY MORE?….
May 16, 2009 at 14:52
Pedro – Exactly, he might not be some all conquering Vieira type player but what he does, he does well. Hopefully he can continue to add more to his game.
May 16, 2009 at 14:53
Pedro, I agree, but if we can get a better player then he drops to the bench and can continue to develop without the weight on his shoulders he has had this season. May only be good enough for squad place, but that is what Park and some others have done for the mancs this year and you need a good squad, which we have lacked.
May 16, 2009 at 14:55
So now Giggs & SAF have won 11 PL titles. It puts things into perspective I’d say.
May 16, 2009 at 14:55
Fuk the damn ceremony is everywhere….
May 16, 2009 at 14:59
Anyone still think we don’t need a striker, also is Wenger obsessed with playing anyone at right midfield ie Nikki today
May 16, 2009 at 14:59
Zorro… I don’t think we need to buy there. I bet he is a different player next year… his stats are over hyped… but so were Hlebs… then he had a pretty ripping season the year after.
I don’t think we need an experienced centre mid… I think we need two experienced defenders and a versatile midfielder.
May 16, 2009 at 14:59
yeah Vpussie might have scored a few goals against the likes of Bolton and Wigan but has never cut it in big games…sorry but Epl defenders have learned to handle him. He is way too predictable..and might i say overrated
May 16, 2009 at 15:00
Ahh this is useless…I feel empty inside…Sad sad day!
May 16, 2009 at 15:00
franchise
later people have a good weekend
May 16, 2009 at 15:01
dev a brace @ chelski
May 16, 2009 at 15:01
Pedro : “Denilson was great today.”
Crab.Crab.Crab. THe king of Crabs.
What was so great about him ? We all have our favourites , but his game didnt hit me as great . Decent , yes. Great , and you are talking out of your arse.
Gibbs , Toure , Song – now they were special today.
Nasri had a good game and RvP tried as hell.
May 16, 2009 at 15:01
Why two experienced defenders Pedro? Do you think Gallas will leave?
May 16, 2009 at 15:02
We played fooking great today.
Sod the trophy celebration, i’m off to get wasted!
May 16, 2009 at 15:02
Dev…V Persie’s has scored against all the big teams. What planet are living on?
May 16, 2009 at 15:03
Dev did you not see RVP at the bridge?
May 16, 2009 at 15:04
Actually, first a rant.
The momentum is building for us to start buying again. Yes our first team did great against a nervous Manure, but our bench looked… very inexperienced…
We need to get reinforcements in big time. Arshavin is right – 2-3 experienced players. Minimum.
Can’t see anyone going though. They owe us.
Here’s to a summer of dreams.
Rich of to the pub
May 16, 2009 at 15:05
Why is wenger’s interview in french?
May 16, 2009 at 15:05
Irish, I’m thinking along the lines of Silvestre and Senderos leaving… and I don’t think Kolo is good enough.
I think we’ll get a player in part ex for Adebayor… if it’s chavski… Mikel or Alex would be interesting.
May 16, 2009 at 15:05
Please please please don’t call that red nose cunt safit’s one of my pet hates
May 16, 2009 at 15:06
after all I am glad we didnt win.. otherwise we would hear I told you so.. “this team is quality” from wenger and in the end he would set this as an example for not adding to the squad this summer…
May 16, 2009 at 15:07
Pedro i thought Kolo had a good game today,i wouldnt mind seeing him in midfield again
May 16, 2009 at 15:08
No way Pedro , we need a player there who can complement and enhance Fabregas’ abilities. And they are neither of Song,Denilson and Diaby.
I have seen enough of them to form that opinion.
Song : Good DM. But lacks pace. And with him and Cesc , our tracking back from CM is woeful. We will do well against the Wigans, Boltons ; but will be punished by teams that can break with pace.
Denilson : Classier than Song. Can intercept. Quicker. Will be more than adequate against the mid-table opponents.
But is AVERAGE at best. No incisive passes. Not strong enough yet to play there against the big boys.
The manner in which he was raped by the Chavs at Wembley was embarrassing.
In short , he isnt special yet.
Atleast Song is more adept at what he does best (break up play) than him. Does not bring any above-average skills to the team.
May 16, 2009 at 15:08
again wenger got the sub wrong.. why keep a player (diaby) that has done fuck all and take off nasri…
Wlacot out of position and i cant remember his name being mentioned…
Nicky on the wing… wow…he should have been the lead man…
May 16, 2009 at 15:08
Well that was crap wasnt it. All of the ball and we did fuck all with it.
I awoke from slumber a little late and missed the first 10minutes but i saw the teams lining up in the tunnel. Well…needless to say i was fucked off completely when i say Abouseless Diaby standing there! The twat never does anything but plays every important/big game we have. And ye saw it…he did nothing again.
Song was great, Denilson was great at intercepting and recycled possession fairly well to those in close proximity.
Sagna still cant cross, Gibbs was great again and AA was annoyingly quite for whatever reason. VP was isolated and couldnt do anything with the ball as he fell over quite a bit. Nasri was ok but i dont remember much from him.
Eboue didnt have anything to do but still somehow annoyed me but i cant remember why. Bendtner on the right was a retarded decision, as was Diaby yet again getting another 90minutes.
Fuck what a bad start to the weekend that was. A draw would normally be a decent result there but United obviously were content with it and it was a pretty dull game as a result.
Anyway………..
May 16, 2009 at 15:09
Pedro – Who would you rather if it were to come to that – Mikel or Alex??
We need to buy one massive big commanding CB and Gallas I reckon will do well beside him.
I was talking to a chav supporter too and he is none too happy at the prospect of them buying Adebayor
May 16, 2009 at 15:10
HOW THE FUCK CAN WENGER SLEEP AT NIGHT?..
I WONT BE ABLE TO SLEEP FOR A WEEK NOW,,,
O WENGER IS A CUNT…WENGER IS A CUNT..LALALALA..LALALALA.
I NEED PROZAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 16, 2009 at 15:11
Well I did my tenner but at least we weren’t slaughtered. Does anyone think we’ll be first on motd tonight? lol
May 16, 2009 at 15:13
dev.. u wrong how about the brace against the chavs… vp is quality… what he lacks is quality ppl around him…
May 16, 2009 at 15:13
I’d much rather Alex than Mikel. I dont like Mikel at all. Not at all!
Im not angry about the result either. More disappointed because there were no highs and no lows. So im pretty neutral.
May 16, 2009 at 15:14
nearly 5 years at arsenal and u guys keep talking abt his two goals against chelsea..just explains everything doesnt it
May 16, 2009 at 15:14
Congrats to all the United refs…Mike Dean, Mike Riley, Howard Webb…job well done…go get your medals…pour out the champagne…hahaha… FA = Fecking Joke.
May 16, 2009 at 15:14
Stu, Wolfsburg are winning 3-0 guess who scored one of the goals?
May 16, 2009 at 15:15
The refs deserve to have their name on that title, not united. The refs are worth about 20-30points to them a reason at least.
May 16, 2009 at 15:15
we need about 3 WORLD CLASS FRANCHISE Players.
Wenger got a Roasting in that Fnas meeting thing.. i just hope he listens and sells ADEBAYWHORE FAST!!!
we need to tighten up the back and be more cutting upfront.
May 16, 2009 at 15:16
Gooner786, Zaccardo? Barzagli? Misimovic? Am i close?
May 16, 2009 at 15:16
V persie also scored against Liverpool. But whatever, that’s not the point. He needs another striker accompanying him and Cesc to be playing better than what he has done this season.
May 16, 2009 at 15:16
Hull are in the bottom 3 as of now. If the results stay the same they are down. Muahahahahah!!!!!!!!
May 16, 2009 at 15:16
Stu, nope.
May 16, 2009 at 15:17
VP also scored against United when we beat them 2-1 at the grove a few seasons ago.
May 16, 2009 at 15:17
Dzeko!
May 16, 2009 at 15:17
Grafite?
May 16, 2009 at 15:18
Stu – Now if we can just get Newcastle and West Brom to swap places that would be ideal!!!
May 16, 2009 at 15:18
Stu – He got 2!
May 16, 2009 at 15:18
I’d have Mikel… i think he is a class act and young enough to be part of the team for years to come. 6ft3… good in the air, good on the floor and a winner… I’d have him in a heart beat.
How about you?
May 16, 2009 at 15:19
Stu, well Grafite scored 2 but who scored the other 1?
May 16, 2009 at 15:19
I’ll never this ever again but c’mon Bolton
May 16, 2009 at 15:19
I dont like Mikel at all . HEs Crap. Thats what he is.
No way better than Song.
May 16, 2009 at 15:20
Dzeko got 2 or Grafite?
IMO Mikel is too slow to compliment Fabregas in the middle. Cesc and Denilsong are such a slow partnership. Mikel would be the same but just a bit taller. We need energy nest to Cesc imo.
May 16, 2009 at 15:21
giovinco?? balotelli? obinna??
May 16, 2009 at 15:21
Dzeko is brilliant but very unlikely.
Irish, who are Bolton playing? Chelski?
May 16, 2009 at 15:21
Grafite got 2
May 16, 2009 at 15:21
What about them Abdul?
May 16, 2009 at 15:21
I was going to say Alex – strong player, great free kicks although he has been dodgy at times.
Any chance we just do a straight swap for Essien – I think its a fair deal myself
Do you think they’d let Mikel go like that though after going through all that business with United to sign him?
May 16, 2009 at 15:22
Stu – Hull
May 16, 2009 at 15:22
If Boro go down then i would have Tuncay off them. He is a great footballer imo and would be cheap and experienced. Could do a cantona form Leeds to united. Why not like!
May 16, 2009 at 15:22
Dev your words were that he cannot cut it in the big games. So you dont agree that Chelsea and Liverpool are big games then?
May 16, 2009 at 15:23
Bolton will win that. They have Cahill and Elmander!!
May 16, 2009 at 15:23
Dzeko got the first!
May 16, 2009 at 15:24
Second that , Stu .
Have been saying that all along.
May 16, 2009 at 15:24
And United Paul.
May 16, 2009 at 15:24
TWATTYBAYOR OUT…VILLA IN!!
VAN PUSSY OUT….DZEKO IN!!
May 16, 2009 at 15:24
Boro 1-0 up against Villa
May 16, 2009 at 15:25
Very good point Stu
Denilson is a good recycling machine….5 yards out ball recycle-er.
May 16, 2009 at 15:25
Essien would get a starting role in every single team in the world bar none! And you can include international teams in that! He would and should cost far too much money for Arsenal to be able to afford that!
May 16, 2009 at 15:25
And who scored for Boro Irish??
May 16, 2009 at 15:25
Personally i don’t give two fucks who scored, anyone else?
May 16, 2009 at 15:25
I think we should give Marseille Diaby plus a few quid for Cana and give Lyon Adebayor plus a few quid for Benzema
May 16, 2009 at 15:26
The thought of Dzeko coming in fills me with dread…
I don’t know why people keep on talking about Villa… we’re not going to get him because his price tag is about £40million.
May 16, 2009 at 15:26
Fucking hell Dzeko just cannot stop scoring. If he does that with the Wolfsburg players, imagine how well he would play with Cesc, Arshy, Nasri and Van Persie.
On the game today, well played lads! Man Utd were out played. We could have put just that little bit more effort in and won the game. Should have took Diaby off and brought Nik on. Fuck Diaby. Useless wanker. Pile of shit.
May 16, 2009 at 15:26
For Wolfsburg that is.
May 16, 2009 at 15:26
Irish, sounds like the fairest deal in history!
May 16, 2009 at 15:27
Tuncay with an overhead kick – you were the one talking about him so
to you too
May 16, 2009 at 15:27
Doesn’t it just Pedro
May 16, 2009 at 15:28
gooner786 : mind it there with the name calling !
RvP is a Gooner ; how dare you call him names !!!
May 16, 2009 at 15:28
GP, thats a little harsh. I mean a pile of shit is more useful than Diaby.
May 16, 2009 at 15:30
Thats Tuncay scored for Boro, think we should get him if Boro go down.
May 16, 2009 at 15:30
Hola Todos!
Just back from the game…
Ooh, you’re obviously thinking
a) I have a helicopter/space ship or
b) I live effin horribly close to Old Trafford….
Can you guess which one it is???
May 16, 2009 at 15:30
Pedro, who would you like Wenger to buy in the summer?they have to be realistic targets and not Kaka and Messi.
May 16, 2009 at 15:31
Im sorry I offended the pile of shit Stu. I mean how could I compare such a useful thing to Diaby.
Lol. How are ya mate?
May 16, 2009 at 15:32
Our Defense is not good enough,
Our Midfield is not good enough,
Our Goalkeeping is not good enough,
Our Attack is not good enough,
And finally wait for it…Our Tactical Management is not good enough.
May 16, 2009 at 15:32
Space ship, space ship!!
May 16, 2009 at 15:32
so the away fans inspired arsenal to a gutsy performance against the mancs..lol..sorry people im just pickin on ya..
May 16, 2009 at 15:32
i just checked newsnow… and it is sad day for arsenal…
May 16, 2009 at 15:32
Good GP and You?
I see Bolton have scored. Hull are going down!!!!! Love it!!!
May 16, 2009 at 15:33
Arindam@Kol, SORRY!
May 16, 2009 at 15:33
I think we should have a party at the Emirates next week, don’t know what for but lets have one anyway it’s been a hard season.I may have a couple of spare club level, will let Pedro know.
May 16, 2009 at 15:33
Lovedup Loner
c) You are a Arsenal supporting Mancunian
May 16, 2009 at 15:34
there is a difference between scoring against man u in games which dont mean much and games like the semis of CL or FA cup…huge difference…but that is beside the point… i am talking about how prolific he is…lets get the stats out..he has only averaged 12 goals a year including the league, FA cup, CL, Community shield and the league cup.. do u seriously think that is good enough for a striker..tell me
May 16, 2009 at 15:34
Bolton up 1-0 against Hull!!!!!!
May 16, 2009 at 15:34
I thought we did very well today. Needed a performance and we got one. Shouldve won too.
And yep, Geoffrey, the away support was its usual brilliant self! Sayin that, I thoiught the atmos at the chav game was top too.
May 16, 2009 at 15:34
So David what are you saying
May 16, 2009 at 15:34
Spaceship??
So David in conclusion we just aren’t good enough?
May 16, 2009 at 15:35
Is Diaby the new Eboue?
Can anyone explain how he has played the most important games of the season and shittly.
Arshavin and Nasri off.
Once again Wenger fucks me off big time.
May 16, 2009 at 15:35
Yeah Stu, Im good mate. Comon you Trotters!!! I fucking hate Hull! Can’t wait to see Fail Brown’s face when they get relegated.
Oh and I hope Boro get spanked by Villa. Want Toon to stay up.
May 16, 2009 at 15:36
Paul, sounds like a good idea!
The end of season closing party!
Gooner786, I don’t think we need any strikers… I don’t think he’ll add anything other than a winger to the midfield… and I think we’ll get a couple of decent defenders.
I don’t want Dzeko… and we’ll never get Villa.
I tell you what though… i’d take tevez if he was on the market… although I think we’ve got enough second strikers currently.
May 16, 2009 at 15:36
My word, Dzeko again. Best striker in Europe, maybe, atm. And WHAT a goal!
http://www.101greatgoals.com/videodisplay/2534227/
May 16, 2009 at 15:36
Spuds are winning and everton losing. hope that changes don’t want them giving us a bad name in eorope
May 16, 2009 at 15:36
Arsene FC arent good enough.
May 16, 2009 at 15:36
they were off because they were on yellows..no point getting a red..and arsh looked tired prolly the flu..
May 16, 2009 at 15:36

Nope, Wonderboy is correct. I have a spaceship!
Nah, moved up here when I went to Uni and kinda stayed!
So, I am officially a… manGoonian!
May 16, 2009 at 15:37
dev… the fact that several top european teams are after him means a lot.
his stat is not as good as we wish and this is mainly to do with the injury.. is u want to say he is injury prone and we should not rely on him that is fair point… but he is quality…
May 16, 2009 at 15:37
Dev, he may not be very prolific and i agree that he doesnt score enough but your hate for him seems very irrational and lacks reason. You cant hate the clubs top scorer and a great, but granted an inconsistent, player for no apparent reason.
What did he do to wrong you in your lifetime?
May 16, 2009 at 15:38
Birlliant goal…unfortunately we dont like players that can shoot from outside the box.
May 16, 2009 at 15:39
You were there lovedup so will take your word for it as you see more live.
Personally I thought we still flattered to decieve against a team playing well within themselves to get the point they needed.
Again the formation gave them too much respect as we had nothing to lose and I felt we should have experimented a bit more.
And again Wenger’s stubborness still cant see that neither RVP, Ade, Eduardo, Bendtner has the ability to play upfront alone. Today it was RVP’s turn to prove it.
Positives were Gibbs, Cesc, Arshavin and Song. The rest were mere puppets in the Man Ure Champions performance.
May 16, 2009 at 15:39

I do love the way everyone assumes that players don’t improve…
If Nik B scored 15 this year… why can’t he get 20 next year? If Robin scored 17 this year… why not 25 next year?
Then think about Eddie coming back… and older Carlos Vela… and more rounded Theo… and an adjusted Arshavin.
We’ve got goals coming out of our ass!
We don’t need Dzeko… who is probably a one season wonder in the same mould as Bent or Kezman.
May 16, 2009 at 15:39
WTF???
May 16, 2009 at 15:39
Haha. manGoonian. I like it!
But seriously, you should not be in Manchester unless you live in Alderly Edge. Get your arse back to London!
May 16, 2009 at 15:40
What a goal from Dzeko!!!
May 16, 2009 at 15:40
Wenger has confirmed that Ade & Silvestre are carrying a groin problem. I still feel that we cant afford to be losing players bcuz it affects continuity. Hopefully Wenger’s summer will for DM & CB will have height, experience & quality.
May 16, 2009 at 15:41
I agree Pedro but Van Persie was arguably better when he arrived because he was unpredictable. He is obviously very talented but injuries always fuck him over. He is more experienced now but more predictable. I hope he gets 25 next season but i wouldnt bet on it.
May 16, 2009 at 15:42
Pedro
Eddy and Van P…injury prone…if we do lose Ade…I am not overly optimistic about Pink Boots leading the line with Vela for our big matches…and we will have big matches…if Ade leaves…Dzeko would be glorious for us…
May 16, 2009 at 15:42
team played well today. I’ve been reading this blog just this season and have enjoyed it thoroughly. However, I’ve been extremely disappointed that the blog has all of a sudden bought into the media bashing against Arsenal since the Champions League exit and the loss to Chelsea. Sure, I will be the first to admit that the performances were not our best and that we do need to add some players in the summer. But I think that this team is more capable than what is given credit. The scoreline against Chelsea in no way reflected that game. But it’s all a manifestation of how the media wanted to report it. Did the same happen when United lost to ‘Pool 4-1??? No. But because they choose to make a deal of it doesn’t mean we have to buy into it as well. Watch the game, analyze what happened, and formulate your own opinion. I read enough of that shit elsewhere, I don’t come here to read the same bullshit.
One of the main issues I see with this team though, and probably the only thing I will strongly criticize Wenger for, is the signing of Silvestre. Whenever he has played, the team gives up goals and plays poorly. His distribution, positioning, pace, and tackling is absolutely terrible. Why is it that when he was injured from November through April we played much better defensively? Why is it that the CHAMPIONS of Europe and the BPL DID NOT WANT HIM ON THEIR TEAM? Because he is terrible. I honestly feel that with 2 signings and the Eduardo/Rosicky injury saga sorted out, that this team will be dangerous next season.
May 16, 2009 at 15:42
SUMMER TARGETS:-
NEW MEDICAL STAFF
DAVID SEAMAN – GOALKEEPING COACH
BIG TONE/KEOWN – DEFENSIVE COACH/WENGERS N02
VIEIRA – MIDFIELD COACH
2 UGLY CENTRE BACKS
1 DM
1/2 STRIKERS
May 16, 2009 at 15:43
Pedro, I fully understand and accept your view. I’m a bit 50-50 on it though. I think if Ade leaves, we should replace him or else we may regret it.
Imagine this Wenger quote next season after many 0-0 draws.
‘I believe we strengthened our defence last summer but have lost our goals due to Adebayor’s exit. There is so much creativity but not much threat in the box. We will be strengthening that aspect this summer’.
May 16, 2009 at 15:43
I want these players IN this summer :
Ade off (20) – Dzeko IN (12) : +8
Toure off(10) – Alves/Albiol in (12) : -2
Diaby off (5) – Yaya Toure in (12) : -7
So for a NET spending of 1 mil our squad becomes HELL of a lot better.
I am also ok with Senderos coming back and Silvestre fucking off to Mars.
And while we are at it lets buy Sakho for 5-8. So thats less than NET 10 mil spent and you have a championship winning team , folks.
May 16, 2009 at 15:43
We already have new medical team…
Fuck Seaman & Adams as anything to do with coaching ffs!
May 16, 2009 at 15:44
I hope groin problem translates as ‘never play for Arsenal again’.
May 16, 2009 at 15:44
Stychos, I write the match reports and I always give a fair report.
May 16, 2009 at 15:44
has any one noticed our game plan is so predictable..
counter attack does not exist any more…
we are always going side ways.. and having wide players such as sagna is not helpful.
we pass the ball till death round the box..
May 16, 2009 at 15:45
agreed pedro..
if we can just stop conceding we will be much better..and score more goals too..still think we’re vulnerable at set pieces..
not scoring today away to the best defence in europe isn’t something to cry about..AA will get 5 at OT next time..
May 16, 2009 at 15:45
* And also offer Gallas a new 2 yr contract in the summer.
May 16, 2009 at 15:45
David, Dzeko plays in a piss poor league and for a piss poor team who base their entire game around him.
He’s had one good year and people think he is the solution?
May 16, 2009 at 15:46
I think Ade will be off in the summer. The fact he wasnt even in the squad is telling (Oh yeah, groin strain, of course)
May 16, 2009 at 15:46
I want 3 player sand 3 players only!
Bruno Alvez
Gareth Barry
Ashley Young
If we sign these guys we’ll be flying!
May 16, 2009 at 15:46
i noticed fab4 hit a couple outside the box today i hope this continues and a few others get in on the act
wonderboy i thought the same
May 16, 2009 at 15:46
GP, we score loads of goals… and that will happen without Ade… conceding is the problem.
May 16, 2009 at 15:47
FFS! Our attacking play is fine… Its the bleedin defensive side of the game that needs sorting….
May 16, 2009 at 15:47
Imagine this. Wenger has been saving his transfer budgets for a machine which helps him to put several players in one end and coming out with a combined super one at the other end. Wouldn’t be actually losing the players as you would be getting the super player in addition.
May 16, 2009 at 15:47
Dzeko scored again??
May 16, 2009 at 15:47
Wonderboy – Eduardo has groin players, I hope you’re wrong.
It could also mean Itchy balls.
May 16, 2009 at 15:48
- players, + problems.
May 16, 2009 at 15:48
Pedro
Agreed. Piss poor league. But World Class finishes…have you seen him play?
May 16, 2009 at 15:48
Right, I’m off out… have fun!
May 16, 2009 at 15:49
I think Ade has to leave.
There is too much bad blood surrounding him.
I remember early season Wenger defending him to the hilt saying that our views were merely dissapointed love and that Ade had been misqouted and was never going anywhere.
Now it seems that even Wenger is slowly acknowleding the real truth that was pretty obvious the day that Ade gave that Jeckyl and hyde press conference..
I feel he is a 80/110k (Dependant on what you believe) overhead that we could do without. I would honestly feel better if we simply got rid of him, but would feel better if we used the money to buy someone of real class, as I still dont believe we have a world class striker within our ranks. We have Strikers with the potential to be World Class but for some reason they fail to take the final step.
May 16, 2009 at 15:49
dzeko?? i thought we were getting forlan anyway lol
May 16, 2009 at 15:49
Yeah Wolfsburg 4-0. Dzeko just got his second mate.
May 16, 2009 at 15:49
David, I’ve seen him… he looks great… but so did the Dutch leagues record scorer Alfonso Alves… and that Peruvian Chavski signed on a free a couple of seasons ago.
May 16, 2009 at 15:50
TAIG-two over-rated englishmen and an untested defender..?
May 16, 2009 at 15:50
Dzeko may play in a poor league but you dont know if he will fail until you try him. Give hm a chance.
Or get Huntelaar in….he scores everywhere he plays.
May 16, 2009 at 15:50
Eduardo has crabs, caught them off Rio falling on him.
May 16, 2009 at 15:51
Pedro , how much of Wolfsburg have you seen to form that opinion ?
Who said they have their team built around him ? They have Grafite , whos pretty useful too.
And calling Bundesliga piss-poor is a bit too much too. They are more technical than the “hit-and-run” English game.
May 16, 2009 at 15:51
TAIG, wouldn’t mind Alves but Young and Barry no way! Alonso instead of Barry for me.
May 16, 2009 at 15:51
Hangeland, Alonso and some other urbert please!
Thanks
And I off, ta-rah chucks!
May 16, 2009 at 15:51
i want villa, feilliani or arteta and hangeland woohoo
May 16, 2009 at 15:52
The Bundesliga is a great league. So competetitive. There are about 4 teams still able to win the title. Obviously it isnt great but it isnt piss poor either.
May 16, 2009 at 15:52
or alonso
May 16, 2009 at 15:52
I’d take Dzeko over Benzema any day. I really dislike Benzema. Really overrated.
Dzeko is a better version of Eduardo, playing in a better league. Bosnian football is also rising rapidly.
May 16, 2009 at 15:53
I want 3 tall, strong fuckers down the middle. Hangeland? Cana? Huntelaar?
May 16, 2009 at 15:53
goal poachers don’t work for arsenal..even edu links up pretty well..those who don’t, interrupt the rhythm, like everybody’s fav scape goat ade..
May 16, 2009 at 15:53
i wonder what price wenger has put on senderos. money from sende and ade could buy villa, i also like guiza he looked lively
May 16, 2009 at 15:54
Who scored for Fulham?
May 16, 2009 at 15:54
Even Huntelaar played in a piss poor league. Hes scoring enough for Real. Many match winning goals.
Eduardo also came from a piss poor league. Hes capable of scoring a lot.
Van Nistlerooy also came from a piss poor league.
Piss poor league or not, a striker should have it in him and have great attackers with him. Adebayor wasn’t really amazing in the French league and look what hes doing now.
May 16, 2009 at 15:55
villa said he wanted to come last year and he might help fabs get his mojo back
May 16, 2009 at 15:55
The first one togo should be VAn Persie. How awful…. I was disgusted by his performance.
THE ONLY TIME WE PL<AYED WELL over the last two years is when this silly b@@@d was injured. As soon as he came back from injury LAST YEAR we started losing the title.
May 16, 2009 at 15:55
Cana! i want that fucker in an arsenal shirt..he’d prolly take care of vidic manhandling our players..cause the ref’s not gonna stop it..
May 16, 2009 at 15:55
Guiza is about 30 and shite! No thanks.
May 16, 2009 at 15:56
if madrid get ronaldo we could have a pop at getting robben, hes a match winner
May 16, 2009 at 15:56
yes if boro go down , which looks likely id like alves also .
i think he has far more potential for greatness than boro can give him .. wonder how cheap he would be ?
May 16, 2009 at 15:56
Kamara for Fulham.
May 16, 2009 at 15:56
haha sorry stu, just throwing names out there.
May 16, 2009 at 15:56
Mark, RvP got us the 4th spot this season..
May 16, 2009 at 15:57
OK, well Alonso is going to cost at least £10m more than Barry. Barry is good but has been playing with a team he has no interest in and just wants out.
Ashley Young over rated? Do me a favour! He wont the damn PFA award for a reason! He is brilliant. Quick, good feet, can beat a player unlike Walcott, scores free kicks….yeah rubbish!
May 16, 2009 at 15:57
Those four players might not win us the league Incesc but I bet we would be in with a good shout.
Unfortunately I doubt Villa or feilliani would be available though or the club would pump up their value too much.
Achievable players that would make us genuine challengers:
Hangeland
Barry
and if Ade goes, then why not make a cheaky punt for Villa (I dont think he is a mercenary and would want to come to Arsenal) as you mentioned. If not then why not Benzema or Aguero. and if not them, then take advantage of Tevez’s agents love for the Arsenal and bring him in. I know he is a second striker but that I feel he would play well alongside Eduardo, Nic, RVP or Arshavin.
May 16, 2009 at 15:58
what about keita?? does he get games for barce?
May 16, 2009 at 15:58
Ethan, are you mad? Alves cant score to save his life. In a season and a half he has about 10 goals. Boro are shite but he is worse. IMO!
May 16, 2009 at 15:58
I’d rather slit my throat than bring that cunt Robben to the Emirates!
May 16, 2009 at 15:58
i think villa was asked a question of which EPL teams play the football that he likes best or something like that and he chose arsenal…from there the press got hold of that and its rambled on…..
FOR THE LAST TIME WE WILL NOT GET VILLA, HE IS LIKELY TO REMAIN IN SPAIN. GET OVER IT PEOPLE
May 16, 2009 at 15:59
Kamara scored for Fulham whoever asked earlier
May 16, 2009 at 15:59
Keita and Yaya interchange in the team. Pep likes to rotate those 2 a lot.
May 16, 2009 at 15:59
mandanda so we cant have villa is that what your saying
May 16, 2009 at 16:00
yeah Alves is a Jeffers!
May 16, 2009 at 16:00
Villa will go to Barca when Eto leaves. I think….
We should onlu buy players that scored today. Namely Steinsson and Tuncay
May 16, 2009 at 16:00
I think our big problem is we have no class in our spine.
We lack a commanding CB, a Commanding CM player and a world class striker and we until that is addressed, we will win fuck all.
May 16, 2009 at 16:01
Agreed – There is no way that we’ll beat Barca, Real, Chelsea and Liverpool to the signing of Villa. Time to move on people!
May 16, 2009 at 16:01
oh lighten up mandanda, hes cesc’s mate, he could be tempted. The premier league is the best in the world we dominate the champions league now, i reckon hed give us a thought.
Robben is class, why do you hate him, is there a reason i have forgotten other than the chelsea connection?
May 16, 2009 at 16:01
Nick, i just hope i don’t have to say it again…tututut
May 16, 2009 at 16:02
not you as well taig
i want villa
May 16, 2009 at 16:02
Come on, Tuncay? He’s at Villa for a reason people, do we really think he is EPL title material?
May 16, 2009 at 16:03
Yeah incesc, Robben is a bit of a cunt! He passes the ball less than VP and Diaby combined!
May 16, 2009 at 16:03
Ashley Young got the goals he did because the defenders weren’t on to him..as soon as they realised that he has pace they’ve defended better against him..giggs got PFA player of the year..and with Rosicky nasri walcott arsh in the side would he get games..?
expesive as xabi might be I’d like him over barry..we know that he can play with fab..but im not his biggest fan..I’d like lorik cana!..
May 16, 2009 at 16:03
why dont we have a punt on laursen, hed be cheap as he is retired
May 16, 2009 at 16:04
3 players:
Hangeland
Cana
Benzema
Possibly Silva too
May 16, 2009 at 16:04
if we get villa wenger would probably play him in goal anyway
May 16, 2009 at 16:04
Cana is more of a leader too. We need a leader so badly.
May 16, 2009 at 16:04
“BBC Sport’s Phil McNulty at Old Trafford: “Manchester United fans are sipping champagne in the streets outside Old Trafford. The 18th title T-shirts are already printed and doing a roaring trade. The party is in full swing.” – hope they choke wankers!!!!!!
May 16, 2009 at 16:05
irish, i reckon silva is too lightweight for the premier league, let liverpool have him.
May 16, 2009 at 16:05
Song was fantastic today though.
May 16, 2009 at 16:06
I hope someone pissed in their champagne!
May 16, 2009 at 16:06
incesc, yeah you’ve got a point there…is he mates with Ramos or Raul or Xavi or Iniesta or Torres or Alonso or Cazorla or ….? if he had to play with all his mates he’d be one journeyman alright
May 16, 2009 at 16:06
think alonso is a great player not sure his what we need i see a fletcher type work horses that gets stuck in and gives the ball and freedom to the more creative players
May 16, 2009 at 16:06
has everyone seen the Cana! YT video..makes me feel like kicking something..
May 16, 2009 at 16:07
no i heard he was bestest best mates with cesc, so there mandanda.
May 16, 2009 at 16:08
LOL Mayank! I always feel that way, especially when i see THAT video. He looks like a right nutter in it!
May 16, 2009 at 16:08
Mayank – So Ashley Young has only succeeded so far because every defender he has played against is shit? He’s getting games for England for god’s sake! Its not like he hasnt scored for ages because everyone has realised how to stop him – He’s scored 2 in his last 3 games!!! And we only have one REAL wide man in Rosicky the fucking crock and maybe 2 if you think Nasri is better left than in the middle! I would buy Young to play on the right and we have NO ONE who can or should be playing there!
Alonso is hardly different from Cesc. We need some grit in the middle of the park not someone that can ping balls around and shoot from 60 yards!
May 16, 2009 at 16:08
Actually Cescs bestest best mate in the spain squad is Alonso. FACT!!!!
May 16, 2009 at 16:09
anyway, barce dont need a forward, madrid are gonna spend loads on divaldo
May 16, 2009 at 16:10
Stu – what is THAT video?? I wanna see, I wanna see
May 16, 2009 at 16:10
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EL_bZAdOKhk
..enjoy, imagine him squaring up to terry..he’d prolly shit in his pants..
May 16, 2009 at 16:10
we have the flair now lets get the brawn must be over 6ft built like a brick shit house as fast as henry in his prime and able to defend like his life depends on it two required, loads of them about
May 16, 2009 at 16:10
What a Cunt
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/football_focus/8053447.stm
He makes out that it is not his fault that he is wanted by Milan. Yeah right, like he has not fueled that situation. His fuckwit agent certainly has.
We have to get rid of this player for the good of Arsenal Football Club.
May 16, 2009 at 16:11
Irish, the one Mayank just posted.
May 16, 2009 at 16:11
Adebayor for Eto’o?
or
Adebayor for Huntelaar plus Van Der Vaart? (Fucking sorted)
Huntelaar is available for around 12mil and VDV is available for around 9mil.
May 16, 2009 at 16:12
Er….I want Cana! I’ve only watched 50 seconds so far!
May 16, 2009 at 16:12
Last year, I would have chosen Alonso over Barry, but it was a close call and they were similarly priced.
This summer, Barry’s contract is a lot closer to expiring and that means about a 8-10m pound difference.
Surely this is a no-brainer and works to our advantage. We either get Barry on the cheap or play it off against the Scousers and get the money off Alonso.
May 16, 2009 at 16:12
Villa is much better than Benzema
May 16, 2009 at 16:12
instead of buying a midfielder why dont we spend 30million on cloning a 25 year old vieira.
May 16, 2009 at 16:13
goonerpress – vdv for £9m? You can get it for free from any whore at kings cross!
May 16, 2009 at 16:13
Pat – 100% correct on how we should get one of them!
May 16, 2009 at 16:13
taig
May 16, 2009 at 16:13
I would take VDV in a second, great player that I believe Wenger could really get the best out of.
Huntelaar has only just gone there, so not sure if we could get him. he made the wrong choice
May 16, 2009 at 16:14
dont think wenger likes barry, he bid for alonso last year he didnt bd for barry.
Who was that swiss guy he liked as well???
May 16, 2009 at 16:14
haha TAIG
May 16, 2009 at 16:14
TAIG..he’s good enough for villa..and i’m saying that new players with pace always confuse defenders early on..i think they are handling him better now..yes he does shade walcott atm..but i don’t think he’s the quality we need..maybe silva..playing for england isn’t a big deal, ashley cole does it..
May 16, 2009 at 16:15
Dzeko hat trick…I’ve said that a lot this season, for both club and country.
May 16, 2009 at 16:15
insec inlar
May 16, 2009 at 16:15
TAIG, I think that is why we did not bring in a CM player in January.
I hope that Wenger….knows that he wants one of Barry or Alonso. Neither were available in Jan and both would have cost a small fortune.
Now we can take advantage get our man and move forward.
May 16, 2009 at 16:15
Fuck me Cana is mental! I hadnt seen too much of him but damn do I want him now!
May 16, 2009 at 16:16
how good is that cardozza guy at villareal??
May 16, 2009 at 16:16
Pat – lets hope so!
May 16, 2009 at 16:16
Pat – benzema is more attainable though
May 16, 2009 at 16:18
damn we should buy cana just to sort out ronaldo and evra,
May 16, 2009 at 16:18
Feck Hull scored
May 16, 2009 at 16:18
to think we were linked to him in the summer..start a petition and make Wenger watch this video..there’s everything you lack..scored against liverpool too..so the ‘english game’ crap doesn’t apply..
May 16, 2009 at 16:18
Ha Ha
Wenger on today
“I believe we played with a lot of heart and desire.
He is like a fucking robot, we could replace him with one of those keyrings where you press a button and get a soundfile. Bit like the MR T one.
May 16, 2009 at 16:18
Mayank – Lets not be silly….Ashley Cole does it because he is the best English left back. Ashley Young gets on the bench because he is knocking on the door of being one of the best in the country. Each to their own though……
May 16, 2009 at 16:18
Dzeko hat trick.. OI WENGER ARE YOU WATCHIN YOU FACKIN CANT?
May 16, 2009 at 16:19
I think Dzeko looks very good and clinical, although I agree that this is only his breakout season, but I think he would be good for Arsenal.
May 16, 2009 at 16:19
Fuck i love that video. Wenger should show that to our players. They would probably start crying tho….
May 16, 2009 at 16:20
we want tevez we should get banners and fuckin tevez masks and sing we want tevez at wenger you never know he might think fuck it they might get off my back if i do one thing for them but im sure we all dont want tevez espcially the boys who think we have good enough strikers
May 16, 2009 at 16:20
irish, I don’t think so. Lyon always put overinflated prices on their players, always. There is no chance we’re doing business with them. One player I would take from them is Makoun.
Villa would cost less, imo, and we’d be competing with Chelsea and Barca only. I don’t see Barca getting him cause their big target for the summer is Ribery. That leaves Chelsea.
Juve, United, and Milan are all after Benzema.
May 16, 2009 at 16:20
OIRISH, WATCH THIS:-
May 16, 2009 at 16:20
Apparently Arsenal have been scouting Dzeko for the last 2 season. Cant remember where i heard it tho.
May 16, 2009 at 16:21
haha stu..RvP would go on strike if we bought him..
May 16, 2009 at 16:22
Gooner786, you posted that yesterday aswell. Why? Whats the point or relevance of it?
May 16, 2009 at 16:23
Why Mayank? Afraid of not being the only angry cunt in the team.
May 16, 2009 at 16:23
come on barce wont buy david villa and chelsea are buying
:lol adebayor
May 16, 2009 at 16:23
i must admit i don’t enough German footy as I used to but this Dzeko guy has had one good season but Mario Gomez has had 3/4 decent seasons…(actually he played well at the Euros i.e. his teamwork was pretty good, but his finishing was poor…he was younger then and prob cldn’t handle the wight of expectation)…question is why should we gamble on Dzeko over Gomez when Gomez has been the more consistent of the two over a long period, suppose we had to replace Ade? His goalscoring record for Germany isn’t shabby either
in my opinion if we had to sign a striker from Germany at, say less than £15m then I’d opt for Mario Gomez
May 16, 2009 at 16:23
*watch
May 16, 2009 at 16:24
Why not incesc? Barca want Villa to replace Eto. But Chelski have no monies so i doubt they would spend 30m+ on anyone.
May 16, 2009 at 16:24
HAHA TAIG. I meant the Rafael VDV
lol.
Just seen Adebayors interview. He is blaming the same people as Wenger. Us.
WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU FUCKING DIMWITS FUCKING BLAMING US? AND WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU FUCKING BLAMING US FOR?
Oh sorry we come to watch matches and pay for your wages. Sorry we just want a trophy in return. We are very sorry.
FUCKING MORONS! AAAGGHHH
May 16, 2009 at 16:24
I’d take Villa Pat, wouldn’t complain
May 16, 2009 at 16:25
shit i didnt realise mandanda was still around o:
wheres eto going??
May 16, 2009 at 16:25
Gomez was awful at the euros. Not only his lack of goals but from what i remember he didnt run much either.
I’d much prefer Dzeko.
May 16, 2009 at 16:25
Nah..he’d petition to always have him on his side while training..
May 16, 2009 at 16:26
Stu,
Arsenal Keeping Tabs On Wolfsburg’s Edin Dzeko
The Bosnia-Herzegovina striker’s displays this season have attracted the attention of the Gunners, who will face stern resistance if they choose to make a move…
Edin Dzeko
Arsenal first-team coach Boro Primorac has revealed that the club have been monitoring the progress of Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko.
The 22-year-old striker has been in impressive form for the Die Wolfe this season, scoring 13 goals in 22 appearances to help the club reach second place in the Bundesliga.
“We [will] keep our eyes on him,” Primorac is quoted as saying in German sports magazine Kicker-Sportmagazin.
“He is a striker able to make it in the Premier League.”
It is thought that Spanish club Sevilla are also interested in the Bosnia-Herzegovina international, who has scored 6 goals in 13 caps, although Wolfsburg appear determined to keep hold of him.
“Edin is under contract for two more years and likes being at Wolfsburg,” his agent Alen Augustincic is quoted as saying.
“We are hoping they will win participation in the Champions League for next season.”
Manager Felix Magath remarked, “We want to keep our team at our club, as many players as possible. I am confident Dzeko will be a Wolfsburg player next season, too.”
May 16, 2009 at 16:26
GP, where did he say that?
May 16, 2009 at 16:26
i dont think he will replace ade when he goes arshavin will be moved uptop imo
May 16, 2009 at 16:26
we should have got in quicker than juve and got diego. Hes class and the best in the bundesliga
May 16, 2009 at 16:27
Didn’t Gomez put 4 past Wolfsburg for Stuttgart ?!
May 16, 2009 at 16:28
786
May 16, 2009 at 16:28
incesc, i think Stu has a good point with the likely destination of Villa – its either Barca or Real for Villa i think…if Barca sell Etoo to manshitty or any other team willing to pay £30m or so then they’ll go for Villa…
May 16, 2009 at 16:29
Rvp nick vela arsh are all 2nd strikers..edu’s the only CF we’ve got..we might go in for Dzeko..
May 16, 2009 at 16:30
We dont really know where Vela is better yet. He hasnt played nearly enough games to make that judgement.
May 16, 2009 at 16:30
yeah i just dreamimg mandanda, i have retreat into my imagination my girlfriend is watching the hills
May 16, 2009 at 16:31
theres no such thing as a second striker it depends how the team sets up and the relationship of the two front players and mancity have just equalised against the spuds
May 16, 2009 at 16:31
Primorac is Bosnian, so is Dzeko. Primorac is Wenger’s good mate. hmm
May 16, 2009 at 16:32
Stu, i disagree on that one mate being lazy is something i can’t accuse Gomez at the Euros his finishing was what let him down…apart from the Euros his being quite prolific. Do you concur?
May 16, 2009 at 16:32
Stu. All through he is saying how can he play well if we are constantly booing him. Is it his fault that Milan and Porto(wtf) want him. And then he said if Arsenal fans want a trophy, they should be more supportive and back the team.
Wenger said the same, he said the fans are too negative. We make him feel like he killed someone. He fucking has. Hes killed our club!
May 16, 2009 at 16:33
his mis against italy wa as funny as fuck everybody thought he scored then just looked at him
May 16, 2009 at 16:33
Not really. I dont remember him from the euros, especially not Gomez’s workrate. It was probably good but i didnt notice it.
May 16, 2009 at 16:33
sell ade get villa but this dzeko does look good
May 16, 2009 at 16:35
incesc, believe me i dream too my friend and i don’t blame u either seeing the way our season has gone it might be best to dream
May 16, 2009 at 16:35
so he should fuck off to milan then wenger should be clever and cash in to resolve it because if he stays its gonna be the same thing..
May 16, 2009 at 16:36
there’s no such thing as a second striker?..then why do certain players do better alone up top than others..a 2nd striker is someone who is better at playing deeper..the CF is some one who can trouble the CBs themselves..like the ade of old..
May 16, 2009 at 16:37
Adebayor is just a cunt. How can he blame the fans for his own failings?
May 16, 2009 at 16:37
Fucking Edin Dzeko, world class player. 3 goals today np
May 16, 2009 at 16:39
he’s the only one of the booees that had it coming..the mancs booed ronaldo for the same behaviour but he won them back..well eventually
May 16, 2009 at 16:40
Dzeko is a very versatile goalscorer. Scored one outside the box (volley), one inside the area and high header in the box.
May 16, 2009 at 16:41
stu were you watch football focus? after the Ade interview keown stuck up for the fans and said arsenal fans are honest and good people. lol
ie fuck off ade you lazy bastard
May 16, 2009 at 16:41
Adebayor, Diaby and Silvestre have no space at this club. Good people but lack skill and determination. Sadly I think that is the maximum level and potential they will reach. A slower league like the Italian one will suit them better.
May 16, 2009 at 16:43
Comon Newcastle, score damn it!!!
May 16, 2009 at 16:43
Incesc, i didnt see it infortunately. Thank God Keown is still a legend. He obviously still loves the club and is a smart person. I would have him at the club in a heart beat. He would be a great defensive coach or aggression coach for the players.
May 16, 2009 at 16:44
Stu, apart from the Euros Gomez has been quite prolific and you can watch videos of the Euros to see what I mean by Gomez have a good work rate (at least better than Ade this season) or better still you can watch some Stuttgart games
Stats from wiki;
Goals (appearances) – season
34(42) – 08/09
28(32) – 07/08
16(30) – 06/07
as of 9th May 2009
not bad eh!
May 16, 2009 at 16:44
*having
May 16, 2009 at 16:46
Feck sake Bolton c’mon
May 16, 2009 at 16:50
Ronaldo told Sky Sports 1: “It’s brilliant, the atmosphere here is unbelievable, the supporters screaming, singing songs… it’s amazing but the future you never know. But as I said before, I’m really, really happy here.”
Wonder if the press will scream bloody murder about this..if it’d been cesc..
May 16, 2009 at 16:54
The Idea of signing Villa makes no sense to me whatsoever what we need is a Target man who is of top quality so strikers like Vela, Eduardo or Walcott can play off don’t get me worng I am a huge fan of Villa but he’s not a better finisher than Eduardo and I’d be comfortable with Vela and Walcott 4 cover 4 Eduardo’s position. I agree we need a new striker but it must be a target man we have enough small strikers we need that balance upfront the ‘’plan b’’ which did wonder’s 4 us last season. As 4 the defense hopefully Gallas stay’s and Wenger sign’s a suitable partner as Toure I don’t rate at all he’s good but not good enough. DM I’m thinking Wenger should sell Adebayor 4 25 mil minimum 2 AC Milan if they still want him of course and get Flamini back as part of a swap deal. And then try and make a bid 4 Buffoon or Frey as Fabianski is not good enough 4 cover let alone competition.
And then loan out Diaby, Denilson, Fabiasnki, Bendtner and Gibbs.
May 16, 2009 at 16:58
Bendtner should be our no.1 striker if only for the fact that he can play good football and is our best player in the air currently.
Sell Ade, Silvestre and Diaby. Maybe Eboue too. And big maybe Toure or JD. Preferably Toure because JD is still really young. But thats only if Gallas stays, which he probably wont.
May 16, 2009 at 17:00
Hull have united last game of the season. I hope united play a really strong side but i doubt they will because of the CL. Still tho C’mon united! Boro and Newcastle!
May 16, 2009 at 17:00
Stu Bendtner? Bendtner has nothing over Adebayor apart from his work rate.
May 16, 2009 at 17:01
Bendtner is also better in the air and arguably better on the ground too.
May 16, 2009 at 17:02
A player like Cana will be an Easy Target for the Anti-Arsenal Refs.
May 16, 2009 at 17:02
fecken bolton useless….
May 16, 2009 at 17:03
Irish, it aint all bad Apparently Hull should have won.
May 16, 2009 at 17:04
yes..but so was viera..i don’t mind a red card or two in a season if we manage to scare teams again..
May 16, 2009 at 17:04
Bendtner better than Gomez? I don’t think so Stu…as for being better than Ade I agree with MG
May 16, 2009 at 17:04
ha, talking about hull? hope they get relegated!
May 16, 2009 at 17:04
So a Spud/Manc dived to win a PK for the spuds to win. Fuck that!
May 16, 2009 at 17:05
its irritating..red everywhere and we haven’t won!
May 16, 2009 at 17:05
I didnt saw Bendtner was better than Gomez. Did i? No.
May 16, 2009 at 17:06
any1 got pissed off about the result? got some manu fans still celebrating outside!
May 16, 2009 at 17:07
Stu ok he’s good on the ground what else? If Bendtner can sort out his positional game which is worst than Ade’s which I thought I’d never say and his awful finishing I would be more than happy with him in the starting line up.
May 16, 2009 at 17:07
stu, gomez vs nicky b? we must bring gomez to arsenal to be able to compare!
May 16, 2009 at 17:07
my bad,
anyway gotta go laters grovers
May 16, 2009 at 17:07
Still – Hull look like staying up now, feck anyways just have to spank them next season
May 16, 2009 at 17:08
mayank, rvp headbutted a gk n got a red, eboue in the spud game, remember?
May 16, 2009 at 17:09
Bendy positional play isn’t that bad..remember he got into the positions to miss the thousands of chances he did..
May 16, 2009 at 17:09
Bendtner has better positioning imo.
May 16, 2009 at 17:09
Gomez is shit son he is shitttttttttttttttttt.
May 16, 2009 at 17:10
Fat Pat talking through his arse again.
May 16, 2009 at 17:10
yeah..i do..but RvP doesn’t scare people..Cana would..
May 16, 2009 at 17:10
Gomez isn’t all that. Hes a hot and cold player. Much like our very own Adebayor. The only thing that is good about Gomez is that he has a better work rate and determination than Adebayor.
May 16, 2009 at 17:10
30 mins, n i’ll get the bottles of krug and grand marnier! i think i’ll smoke 2 or 3 joints also! i’m that pissed off today!
May 16, 2009 at 17:11
metal gear i know what your saying about the height thing but got a feeling eduardo will get injured alot and i agree we need a target man so maybe we need two strikers.
david villa would be great for us he is better than what we have for finishing eduardo is close but it aint just finishing he will make himself available when we attack get himself in between the backline and stretch defences how often did we get the ball up to the box today and noone gets in their for crosses van persie just fell on his arse all day today
May 16, 2009 at 17:11
I think Fergie may play a dirty game and let Hull give em a game.
May 16, 2009 at 17:11
LOL David, i was thinking the same. Dolan knows absolutely nothing about football. And he fucking looks like a mess. Suit too small making his fat even more noticable. Not to mention his shite hair!
May 16, 2009 at 17:12
rvp as target man! what a shit formation!
May 16, 2009 at 17:13
I was well fucked off when i saw the team. VP alone up front again. He is shite everywhere except right wing for holland. Diaby STARTING! What a cunt! And…thats about it.
May 16, 2009 at 17:13
bendtner has great positional play its when he really has to think thats when he becomes shit but i blame his poor development on wenger again always swapping positions he may of fucked walcott up move him to the middle..
May 16, 2009 at 17:14
I’m off.. i need a media blackout..you should see the faces of the manc supporting presenters/pundits..they can barely control their glee..at least steve macmahon will be pissed..
May 16, 2009 at 17:14
who’s Dolan?
May 16, 2009 at 17:16
Target doing the Summer
Ribery would do wonders for us in an Arsenal SHIRT we do need a proper left winger….Nasri is inneffective on the left…
I fancy a team where Nasri-Cesc in the middle…Ribery on the left…and Van Piersie on the right…Arshavin as our SS and Bendy/Eduardo playing up top…
Ribery is the solution to the midfield crises…and then 2 CB’s We will dominate.
May 16, 2009 at 17:17
Stu trust me I like Bendtner’s work rate and his link up play which is decent but he has not got better positioning than Ade and if that’s your opinion fair enough but just think about those game’s he started in where Sagna or Clichy would look 2 cross the ball and this enigma aint even in the box that’s just 1 example of many of his shocking position play.
May 16, 2009 at 17:17
Dolan is a fat lad who managed in the league of Ireland and wasn’t very good and is now contracted to sellotanta sports and generally talks shite
May 16, 2009 at 17:18
but i wud also add a proper CDM!
May 16, 2009 at 17:18
up front is where he has good positional play metal gear..
May 16, 2009 at 17:19
Exactly Stu
Pat the Fat bastard in addition to being fat and shite hair…he is a proper pain in the Arse to listen to.
I say we break the bank for Ribery…pick up Bassong from Newcastle on the cheap…and a couple brazillian kids for the reserves..and we’d be set.
May 16, 2009 at 17:20
David Nasri and Cesc in the middle? WTF have you not watched this season unfold have you not watched how we’ve been losing the midfield battle constantly do you how difficult it is 2 win a game without dominating the middle third.
May 16, 2009 at 17:20
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/a/aa/Pat_Dolan.jpg/200px-Pat_Dolan.jpg
May 16, 2009 at 17:21
ahhh, pat dolan!
May 16, 2009 at 17:22
Metal thats cuz Wenger switched Roles with Nasri and Cesc…when Cesc plays deep and Nasri plays up front we look threatening everytime.
May 16, 2009 at 17:23
Kirby I guess it’s all about opinions I would love Villa here 2 but I honestly believe if Vela or Walcott played of a target man upfront we would do team’s serious damage.
May 16, 2009 at 17:23
I want Bewcastle to stay up for the sole reason that we WONT buy Bassong. I dont rate him at all. He got sent off today and was basically at fault for their goal.
May 16, 2009 at 17:25
LOLOLOLOLOL Goonerpress. Thats fucking classic!!!!
May 16, 2009 at 17:27
Bassong is French…and 22…Please believe he’s coming to Arsenal.
May 16, 2009 at 17:29
Kirby I’m talking about him starting up front his positioning is still awful I don’t want 2 give the impression that I don’t like him cuz I do but he needs 2 look back on some tapes of himself and analyze carefully where he’s going wrong the 1 game where his position play was excepetional was that game against blackburn apart from that it has been poor. and Wenger needs 2 stop playing him on the wing what kind of dumb shit is that?
May 16, 2009 at 17:29
noooooooo! bassong plz stay at newcastle!
May 16, 2009 at 17:30
And i believe this is his first season in the Prem? Still alot of learning to do…with Gallas…that would be interesting. Its going to happn Cartman…try and prepare yourself…this is Arsene Wenger FC
May 16, 2009 at 17:30
playing nicky on the wing, playing diaby, that was all skit today!
May 16, 2009 at 17:31
Bassong is average, i dont care how old he is!
May 16, 2009 at 17:32
David yes we do look threatening when we have the ball but what happens when they have the ball surely we need steel in midfield how do we win the ball back in midfield 2 look threatening again?
May 16, 2009 at 17:32
cartman
Pink Boots has a good link up play on the wing but Playing Van P up top alone by himself was just plain dumb. Further proof that our manager is tactically inept and cant seem to make the best use of his resoursces…I wouldve but Nik up top he’s at least 3 inches taller than Vidic
May 16, 2009 at 17:32
David, i hope ur wrong!
May 16, 2009 at 17:32
Chiellini, Hangeland or Wheater are the answer to our CB problem!
May 16, 2009 at 17:33
“Bendtner has nothing over Adebayor apart from his work rate”
Err….Apart from actually WANTING to play for the mighty Arsenal FC!
May 16, 2009 at 17:33
Metal
The answer is Denilsong
May 16, 2009 at 17:34
David Vidic is 6′2 and Bendtner is 6′3.
May 16, 2009 at 17:34
Chiellini, Hangeland = Expensive.
Bassong = French and Cheap.
you know what is coming.
May 16, 2009 at 17:35
at leat he wud hav vidic on his back, and then arshavin cud hav terrorised the other cb, evans i think!
May 16, 2009 at 17:35
Hangeland and Bassong are both at 6-7mil each.
May 16, 2009 at 17:35
Wheather! LOL. The only thing he can do is keep the crows out of the crop fields!
May 16, 2009 at 17:37
ok 20 more mins b4 i stink alcohol!
May 16, 2009 at 17:37
TonyS what has work rate got to do with wanting 2 be at a Club being at a Club is not an attribute so please follow the topic.
May 16, 2009 at 17:37
All these Manc celebrations are really making me jealous. Barcelona will fuck their insides over. Trust me. Barcelona will rape Manchester United in terms of goals, possession and play.
May 16, 2009 at 17:38
hangeland yes, bassong no! i wud take sakho instead of bassong.
May 16, 2009 at 17:38
GP
I had sworn Bendy was 6′4…my mistake…So Ade is taller then aye??
He still got the height advantage over a Van Persie
Robin is 6t 2 but you would never know.
You look at how Fernando Torres who is 6f 1 Exposed how average Vidic is…it can be painful to watch todays game again
May 16, 2009 at 17:38
Lol Stu. Leave him alone. Sure he’s ugly. But then that would mean he would mind putting his face infront of a shot or two. Would make no difference.
May 16, 2009 at 17:39
I haven’t got time to follow topic, too much beer to drink. Ade does not want to play for us. No point mentioning him again. Lets all move on.
May 16, 2009 at 17:39
gooner barca wud win the treble but yeah fuck their celebrations!
May 16, 2009 at 17:39
No sorry David, Bendy is 6′4. Ade is 6′3. I swear Robin is 6′1.
May 16, 2009 at 17:41
TonyS I agree but is Bendtner good enough 2 be first choice that’s what me, Stu and 1 or 2 other’s were discussing.
May 16, 2009 at 17:42
TonyS has a point. If Bendtner hit Adebayor form from last season, he would not even think about a move. He would carry on playing and not let it unsettle him. Adebayor is different. Hes let the money and big clubs get to him.
May 16, 2009 at 17:42
Height means nothing if you dont jump for the ball. Ade just stands there when the ball comes his way. Bendtner challenges and usually wins it. And VP being over 6 foot means nothing either. He cant header for his life. Eduardo is pretty small but a great headererererer.
May 16, 2009 at 17:42
I still think Ribery is the solution to lifes problems…especially since Rosicky might be injured another season
May 16, 2009 at 17:43
Spot on Stu. As usual.
May 16, 2009 at 17:43
Ribery would be awesome but I think Wenger would only get him if he let Rosicky go. Rosicky isn’t going anywhere yet.
May 16, 2009 at 17:44
Stu
If Ade doesnt jump then why does he score more goals off set pieces?
May 16, 2009 at 17:45
I give up David. Why?
May 16, 2009 at 17:45
David i agree we need a left winger but a defensive midfielder is a priority!
May 16, 2009 at 17:45
Sorry Metal didn’t realize that. I like Nicky B but the I don’t think we have time to wait for him to mature at the moment. Sub at best.
May 16, 2009 at 17:45
David Stu is on about recently. Bendy has been betteer in the air recently and always trys his best in the air. Ade will only go for it if he thinks its worth it. He wants everything put on a plate for him. Much like Henry, only thing with Henry was he would score all his chances and make dozen more.
May 16, 2009 at 17:45
Rosicky is atm…and it will be delusional to think he can start playing at the highest level after being out for almost 2 seasons straight away…it might take him 6 mnths…who knows?
May 16, 2009 at 17:47
I dont know GP
If Ade doesnt go for the ball in the air especially when he thinks he cant get it then how come he keeps getting called for fouls against the opposing keeper?
May 16, 2009 at 17:48
Tony, is the beer enough for u?
May 16, 2009 at 17:48
LOL.
Thats cuz he jumps Stu.
May 16, 2009 at 17:48
If we are tight on budget, I think we should bring Figo in for a season til Rosicky recovers. Could teach Theo and Nasri a thing or two about beating defenders and crossing. Hes on a free. After all, Figo was the original Cristiano Ronaldo, minus moaning.
May 16, 2009 at 17:49
David, simple answer to that. Cos hes a clumsy fucker!
May 16, 2009 at 17:49
Figo? he cant run!
May 16, 2009 at 17:50
Cartman, neither could Zidane.
May 16, 2009 at 17:51
ade shud go back to his basics like song!
May 16, 2009 at 17:51
Clumsy aint the same thing as not going for the ball GP.
Its a myth. Simply not true.
May 16, 2009 at 17:51
Figo is so experienced. He could just come in and teach the players a thing or two. Beckham couldn’t run either. Figo was a fucker of a player!
May 16, 2009 at 17:52
no i mean he really cant run, and besides he wud only slow us in our game!
May 16, 2009 at 17:53
I saw Figo when Inter came over for the emirates cup. He cant run but he is still fucking brilliant!
And Ade doesnt jump for anything anymore. Maybe the ball the ties to his ceiling fell down and he cant practice anymore.
May 16, 2009 at 17:53
GP
Figo has been my best player for a long time. But even I think that is crazy….he cant run as someone pointed out.
May 16, 2009 at 17:53
if ur talking about experience, then ok, he cud get some games against low sides but against the big teams he wud be more of a silvestre for us!
May 16, 2009 at 17:54
Figo???????
You have got to be fucking kidding me.
I have heard some names on here but that is taking the biscuit.
That would be another Silvestre in my opinion.
Shall we get Hyppia as the CB solution as well?
Figo was a great player in his day but not now.
May 16, 2009 at 17:56
Unfortunately we cant ptg. Hyypia has already signed for Leverkusen, we missed our chance.
May 16, 2009 at 18:00
Fair one Stu, how about talking Laursen out of retirement. I know he just quite villa but whilst we are clutching at straws.
May 16, 2009 at 18:03
laursen wud be ideal, he’s always crocked!
May 16, 2009 at 18:03
Wenger should be looking to buy players from within the Premier League.
I’d go for Hangeland,Laursen and Barry.
May 16, 2009 at 18:06
You lot are psychic, I was writing about Laursen before I read your posts….so there we have it, 2 defenders that could do a job for us and have the motivation to move to a better team.
May 16, 2009 at 18:06
I reckon we should try Arshavin just behind Theo next weekend.
And a Midfield that does not include Diaby or Denilson. I would like to see
Fabianski
Sagna, Toure, Djourou, Gibbs
Nasri, Cesc, Song, Vela
Arshavin, Theo
And if Wenger plays with one striker against fucking Stoke at home, I am personally going to hunt him down and punch him in the fucking face.
May 16, 2009 at 18:06
laursen is retired, and he has a problem witj his knee, which i believe is a recurring injury!
May 16, 2009 at 18:08
Laursen has quit Finest, otherwise happy with those two,
I would make it a Premier League 3 with Tevez as well. oh and Di Maria to cover the eventual Rosciky injuries.
May 16, 2009 at 18:08
and i’ll be called cartman the jailer, pat! LOL
May 16, 2009 at 18:09
di maria of benfica?
May 16, 2009 at 18:09
Oh dear, that rules him out then….I like Yobo……he made a nuisance of himself all game long against us, tracked Adebayor like a GPS.
May 16, 2009 at 18:10
someone (got no idea where they heard it) just told me wenger has got 80 milion to spend in the summer. Anyone else heard that?
May 16, 2009 at 18:11
Tried to listen to adebayor’s interview on the bbc site. Could not understand his accent. Is there a transcript somewhere?. Did he say why he is lazy and does not chase the ball around?
May 16, 2009 at 18:12
ok i’ve got sum bottles of grand marnier and krug waiting 4 me! have a nice weekend!
May 16, 2009 at 18:13
I heard them say in commentary that if wenger had 40, 60, 80 million it spend in the summer they had no doubt he’s spent it. If they weren’t so wrapped up in Man U they realise that is absolute guff!
May 16, 2009 at 18:16
If we are buying from within the prem i would go for the following!
Hangeland, Steinsson, Jagielka, Baines, Corluka!, Alex, Ivanovic!,
, Arteta,
Dempsey, Alonso, Krancjar, Jonas, Ireland, Adam Johnson
Tuncay, Pavlyuchenko?, Elmander,
Thats all i got for now.
May 16, 2009 at 18:19
figo
hahahahaha cracked me up, nice one
May 16, 2009 at 18:23
hey le goonersssss
May 16, 2009 at 18:44
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/football_focus/8053447.stm
we should sell the togotwat and get david villa!!!!
May 16, 2009 at 19:14
Ade gone for sure
May 16, 2009 at 19:14
I dunno, you guys can diss Figo but I think skill is something that never goes away. Unless of course you want it to. Yes pace goes and it definately goes when you are at Figo’s age. The thing is Figo still has his skill and finesse. Skill that was admired oh so much by every football fan in the world. Skill that has helped to influence many good Portuguese players and younger players at Madrid, Barca and Inter. Now if he could spend his final year at Arsenal and come on for a few games against opponents that would require pace to beat them, it wouldn’t do many people harm. Especially with youngsters like Vela, Wilshere, Ramsey, Rui Fonte etc etc. Hes been there and done it. World Player, European Player, Spanish League and Cups, Italian League and Cups.
May 16, 2009 at 19:15
wouldn’t require pace to beat them*
May 16, 2009 at 19:17
I’ve just watched Adebayor’s interview and he doesn’t have the right mental attitude to be an Arsenal player, he has played his last game in an Arsenal shirt, goodbye Adebayor…..no more of his infuriating attitude, he can go and play the big G at Chelsea.
May 16, 2009 at 19:18
signing figo
are u talking bout arsenal or bolton
or are you his agent
May 16, 2009 at 19:20
patthgooner
if wenger plays with 1 striker your going to hunt him down
well your team above hasnt even got 1 striker
May 16, 2009 at 19:22
Does anyome else think being at old trafford watching those cunts get the title might motivate some of our players for next season?
May 16, 2009 at 19:24
What mark gooner.
Arshavin and Theo upfront.
Both playing upfront. I am talking about playing 5 across the midfield with too many defensive minded players in there. It does my head in as it means playing too many of our dangerous players out of position.
It is time for Theo to play upfront, and Arsh is our best support striker and best player.
May 16, 2009 at 19:25
michael i hope it does
and i hope it refreshes wengers mind to go all out for the players we need
May 16, 2009 at 19:26
It may well make them hungry goonermichael, but sadly some of them are just not up to it, so we need re-inforcements, Wenger needs to build the best possible team he can this summer.
May 16, 2009 at 19:27
I think it must have a positive effect on them. I hate rednose the cunt but aparently after losing the title because they couldn’t score against west ham he told them “remember this feeling so you don’t have to feel it next year”
May 16, 2009 at 19:28
i agree with 2maany defensive players in midfield
but the formation 2 day was the same as uniteds the only difference was they had rooney and ronaldo supprting tevez
and we had arshavin and (supposedly diaby) supporting rvp (who cant and shouldnt play uptop alone
formations dont win games, players do and we need better quality in a few positions
May 16, 2009 at 19:28
patthegooner, in that case it would be 4-4-1-1
——–Fabianski
Sagna, Toure, Djourou, Gibbs
Nasri, Cesc, Song, Vela
——-Arshavin
———- Theo
May 16, 2009 at 19:28
My Figo comment brings me to this question. If you had to pick a team that consists of current players over the aged 30 or over, who would you pick?
Buffon
Zambrotta Ferdinand Nesta Gallas
Beckham Gattuso Riquelme
Raul Ronaldo Henry
May 16, 2009 at 19:30
players aged 30 or over*
keep making mistakes lol
May 16, 2009 at 19:30
MARK GOONER Says:
May 16, 2009 at 19:28
formations dont win games, players do and we need better quality in a few position
——————-
Both do Mark Gooner, good players and poor tactics lose games.
May 16, 2009 at 19:31
Not quite sure why people are seeing todays performance as a marked improvement. I thought we took part in what appeared to be an Exhibition game.
Man Ure played well within themselves knowing a point would be enough. If they had to, they could easily have raised their game. I think it is a little foolish to suddenly think today is a sign that we are not that far away from challenging with this group of players.
“Today we showed we have the quality. We played with a lot of authority on the pitch”
Dont agree with comment from Arsene at all. There were a few good performances, but overall there were still too many individual performances that clearly showed we dont have the quality either as individuals or as a team.
May 16, 2009 at 19:31
It’s not fucking complicated! At the business end of last season we faced our 3 biggest rivals 5 times. Liverpool 3 times, 2 draws & 1 defeat (elimination from the Champions League) Man Utd once – defeat & Chelsea once – defeat! If we had held on to our 1-0 leads in the Man Utd & Chelsea games we would have won the title + we might have won the Champions League if we could have held on against the bindippers for another 8 minutes! At the business end of this season we faced our 3 biggest rivals 6 times. Man Utd 3 times, 1 draw & 2 defeats (elimination from the Champions League) Chelsea twice, defeat in the F.A.Cup Semi-Final & humiliation in league defeat. Liverpool once in League draw. So in summary that’s 11 season & trophy deciding games against our closest rivals and our record reads: 7 defeats, 4 draws and not one fucking poxy victory! Now take a closer look and 3 of the draws were against the bindippers, who have also won sweet fuck all in the last 2 seasons and a draw against Utd were playing with their fucking party hats on! So the summary to Mr. It’s all the home fans fault, is that we ain’t fucking good enough! Project Puppy has probably cost us 2 Champions Leagues, 1 title & an F.A.Cup in the last 2 seasons and that just fucking pisses me off! We need to purchase 2 world class central defenders & a world class “Gattuso type” midfielder before the start of next season, or it’s more of the same for your 2 and a half grand season ticket!
May 16, 2009 at 19:36
Mark Gooner,
I thought it looked like Arshavin was playing left. Not quite sure where Diaby was playing, but then I never do.
Do you think any of our current strikers are capable of playing up front on their own. I am not convinced.
What I mean by the Arshavin Theo combination is similar to how Bergkamp and Henry used to play.
As for formations not winning games, I think they do, but I also think that by playing the wrong formation can make you lose or draw games. The 4-5-1 nullifies Arsenal as an attacking force and with our current defensive woes, it has proved to cost us dear. Agree on the quality of players though.
May 16, 2009 at 19:37
Fabianski
Eboue Bartley Ayling Gibbs
Wilshere Ramsey Merida Arshavin
Bendtner Vela.
BOOM! Stoke will get slaughtered!
May 16, 2009 at 19:38
I’d like to see the attacking version of 4-4-2 played by Wenger, where you have a man in the hole, 2 strikers up front and no defensive midfielder.
——–Almunia/Fabianski——-
Sagna—–Toure——-Song———Gibbs
Walcott——–Fabregas————Nasri
—————-Arshavin—————
———-Bendtner————Vela——-
That’s with the resource we currently have available.
May 16, 2009 at 19:40
Almunia
Sagna Hangeland Gallas Clichy
Ribery Cana Fabregas Arshavin
Van Persie Dzeko
BOOM! Stoke wouldn’t turn up.
May 16, 2009 at 19:41
Finestcuts, what a lineup!
May 16, 2009 at 19:41
well said Paul King. I’d add a world class winger to that too… Ribery for me…
May 16, 2009 at 19:43
Paul King,
Great stat you dug up mate.
Arsene , you aware of that ?
Time for a reality check.
May 16, 2009 at 19:44
Stekelenburg
Steinsson Hangeland Marchena Lahm
Tuncay Cana Rolfes Silva
Huntelaar Dzeko!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All of them are available! Simples!
May 16, 2009 at 19:45
If were in need of a affordable effective winger, its Ricardo Quaresma. I’ve heard Chavski are gonna send him back to Inter and they will then flog him cheap.
I know Quaresma has really had frustating year in two of the best leagues in the world but I reckon we could get the best out of him. He has unbelievable skill and pace and has a mean fucking shot! He can shoot with the outside of his foot better than any of our strikers can shoot normally. Wenger would sort him out! I remember when he played against us in the Champs League. He ripped our defence and Lehmann apart.
May 16, 2009 at 19:45
Fuck Almunia! Hes average at best! We need someone much better.
May 16, 2009 at 19:46
*take away Tuncay for……..Barnetta!
May 16, 2009 at 19:47
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WV8Iz1PAPME
Thats the Quaresma I want to see at Arsenal!
May 16, 2009 at 19:48
did Quaresma even get a game for Chavski?
Looked like a great player in the last few seasons, What a nightmare he has gone through. Inter paid quite a bit for him aswell.
May 16, 2009 at 19:50
Goonerpress, Quaresma is playing for the chelsea reserves and sucked massively in Italy. Failed at Barca. He just cant do it at a big club. I would have him if he was on a free tho.
May 16, 2009 at 19:51
yeah hes got one game PTG and he impressed. He came off the bench and changed the game. Thing is Chavski don’t play with flair and he didn’t fit in.
He is an amazing player. Just needs a club he will fit in to and he needs a good manager that will keep him going. Inter are willing to take a huge price cut. Mourinho and Quaresma had previous history between them before he went to Inter and I think that may have popped up again.
May 16, 2009 at 19:53
Mourinho was the one that bought Quaresma. If they didnt get along he wouldnt have bought him for so much.
May 16, 2009 at 19:53
Stu he sucked in Italy because Jose has a totally different mentality in terms of football and Mancini fitted his plans. He had a rift with Quaresma a few years back and I think that may also have re-occured.
He failed at Barca because they abused him. They played him in CM and he didn’t play comfortably there. He was meant to move to United instead of Barca, and if he did, he would have been better than Ronaldo.
I have full belief he can make it at Arsenal.
May 16, 2009 at 19:53
There are so many priorities this close season and also a number of factors that we may not know the outcome until the season starts.
I am sincerely worried about Theo.he has just had a massive wage rise, was totally anonymous in both games and again when he came on today, and if he is continually played on the flank we will never see the best of him,as he has to play more centrally.Gallas needs another year contract IMO,arguably our best defender this calender year, until he was injured.Rosicky is 29 in august will he ever be the same player ? Same can be said of Eduardo,so maybe if Ade goes we need a clinical striker apart from giving Vela a prolonged run in the team.Surely Wenger must realise that playing players out of position so much of the time we will never get the right balance.AA has said it himself. If gallas goes and Senderos replaces him, heaven help us.Will Traore or Simpson come back,i doubt it.Hopefully some real money will become available to buy 3 decent players or we are in for a tougher season than this next season.
May 16, 2009 at 19:55
As you do know, Barca do not really play with real Wingers. The last time they did was when Figo was there and I think Overmars after him. Thats it. They play the 4-3-3.
May 16, 2009 at 19:57
And Bordeaux have the win!!!
May 16, 2009 at 20:01
Totally agree Keyser.
Gallas has been our best defender since being stripped of the armband but has the damage aready been done. Wenger doesnt like outspoken people and Gallas is just that. Plus his contract is up next summer and Wenger should sort it now or sell him imo.
As for Eduardo and Rosicky, i think they are worth keeping if they can sort their injuries. I have hope for both of them.
And i doubt Simpson will stay, Traore less so. They are good squad players but we have too many of them already. We need great XI players. We have a squad of mostly squad players, not quality starters. If you know what i mean.
May 16, 2009 at 20:03
GP, other than Gourcuff and Cavenaghi, do Bordeaux have any players worth a look?
May 16, 2009 at 20:13
Hello guys! Stu, how was Fabianski doing( I wasn’t able to watch the match)?
May 16, 2009 at 20:14
Yeah they have many mate.
Alou Diarra (DM/CB) Very big and strong. Puts in a good tackle.
Yoann Gouffran (W/F) Pacy little player. Very good at getting past players and shooting. One of the top French talents.
Wendel (W) Hes also been mentioned a lot. A very effective winger from what I’ve heard but I don’t know much about him tbh.
Henri Saivet (ST) Rumoured to be Arsene’s next French kid purchase. Has recieved raving reviews from many people in France. Pacy striker and he has been compared to Thierry Henry. Just a little smaller.
Marouane Chamakh (ST) Has been linked with Arsenal and Spuds but has stated he prefers a move to Arsenal. Already a legend! He is a very good striker. Has a bit of pace on him and a good finish. Also very good in the air.
Gabriel Obertan (W/F) Probably Bordeaux’s best prospect. Hes a mix of Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry according to everyone in France. Hes got touch, skill, vision and pace. Hes an amazing player and definately one to look out for.
May 16, 2009 at 20:19
Maciek, he didnt really have much to do. They had no shots on target. But Tevez almost got a chance when he was alone in the box. Fab came rushing out and could have very easily given a PK away.
May 16, 2009 at 20:20
So no defenders then GP. Oh well…….
May 16, 2009 at 20:25
Evening guys, finished the match post… make sure you tune in a 0900 tomorrow to read it!
I’m off for some beer! I think it’s been an ok day for the goons!
May 16, 2009 at 20:32
0900 on a sunday Pedro? You must be crazy!
May 16, 2009 at 20:42
Stu, I see that You are another Cana lover. zJoin the club.LOL.Is this Rolfes really THAT good? I mean, can he be useful for us?
May 16, 2009 at 20:57
From what i’ve seen of Rolfes he could be very useful. Big, good on the ball and his clubs captain. Plus he plays for Germany. How bad can he be. He isnt a world beater but he is prety good.
May 16, 2009 at 21:01
Zapata scored against Milan
May 16, 2009 at 21:02
Whats the score in that match Pat?
May 16, 2009 at 21:08
dont understand why people keep saying we only need a couple of players. We ended up with a RB at LB, replacing a LB that is usually LM. A striker on the right wing, a striker who usually plays RM on the left wing and a lone striker who prefers to be a second striker, let alone by himself.
i would like to see gourcouff come on board as well as the new spine we all want (dc/mc/forward), since he can play in the middle and on the right and cover for when theor has his customary few months out-esp with african cup of nations coming
pretty good performance from the lads tho-shame they couldnt man up for when it mattered…but i guess playing well in matches that dont matter bodes well for the Emirates cup this year…
May 16, 2009 at 21:26
We should buy Gary Twigg! Legend!
May 16, 2009 at 21:38
Stu, it finished 2-1 Udinese
May 16, 2009 at 21:56
we only need 3 players
gk
almunia
fabianski
df
clichy
gibbs
sagna
eboue (who can play midfield)
gallas
toure
djorou
silvestre (replace with new CB)
mf
theo
rosicky
cesc
nasri
song (who can play cb)
denilson
diaby
NEW DM
ramsey
vela
arshavin
rvp
eduardo
bendtner
adebayor )replace with NEW CF)
add that to
wilshere
traore
simpson
jay emmanuel
bischoff
merida
cocquellin
anyone else think that is ok (numbers wise)
May 16, 2009 at 22:01
Well Gourcuff would be nice but I doubt we will get him.
AC Milan might actually want him back, because the Mialn team is so old.
Maldini 40 (retiring)
Favalli 37
Pirlo 30+
Ambrosini 30+
Seedorf 30+
INzaghi 35
Shevchenko 30+
Ronaldinho 29 and not the player he used to be
so its only Kaka 27
Pato 19
these two guys are Milans’ future..I guess Flamini and Senderos may havea future there as well.
So if these guys have been seeing what Gourcuff has been doing and do not want him back..they are out of their minds…then again maybe they are saying he is too much like Kaka so thay dont need him.
I would love to get him but I am not so sure.
May 16, 2009 at 22:06
Also I would not mind giving Quaresma a try for the right wing…if he is cheap.
Ideally I would sell Ade and promote Walcott to the centre. I was suggesting Elia from Twente to replace him on the right flank..but maybe Quaresma can work as well.
So against small teams we can play 4-4-2 with
………………..Al…………………
Sag………Kolo/New…..Gal/New…..Clichy
Nas/Elia/Quares….Cesc…..Song/New….Arsh/Rosick..
………..Vela/Theo/Eddy…….RVP/Bendy………
Porgebnyak can join us in January for the run in.
May 16, 2009 at 22:09
Against bigger teams we could switch to 4-3-3
………………..Al………………..
Sag………Kolo/New…..Gal/New……Clichy
….Cesc…….SOng/New…….Rosick/Nas….
….RVP/Theo…..Eddy/Pogreb…..Bend/Vela…..
May 16, 2009 at 22:15
Sorry I forgot the Arsh…how dare I do that?
Against bigger teams we could switch to 4-3-3
………………..Al………………..
Sag………Kolo/New…..Gal/New……Clichy
….Cesc…….SOng/New…….Rosick/Nas….
….RVP/Theo…..Eddy/Pogreb…..Arsh/Bend/Vela…..
May 16, 2009 at 22:18
I am not a season ticket holder, and I am not as entitled to my views as some on this site, but I would like someone to explain to me the following – why do the regulars on here feel we should be even better than we currently are ? Sorry to ask a leading question, but can anybody explain how and when our expectation level exceeded that of Real Madrid, Juventus, AC Milan and Bayern Munich ? Also, would patthegooner please post his views on aclf. I guarantee that not only will he not be moderated, but people will give his views their full attention.
May 16, 2009 at 22:19
Bendtner left wing? How shite wouldnt that be!
May 16, 2009 at 22:22
thierry
being a season ticket holder or not does not make a difference on your views. Moan away, all of our arguments are as equally useless
May 16, 2009 at 22:23
and thierry our expectation should always be to be the best, fuck bayern, real…
if we dont expect to be the best what is the point
May 16, 2009 at 22:29
Evening all!
May 16, 2009 at 22:30
has anyone else thought this was a really weird season?
when has there ever been a semi final of the champions league when the home teams fans have left at half time, or the top scorer for 2 years at a top club gets driven out by fans
only at arsenal
May 16, 2009 at 22:32
You mean Bayern who sacked their manager for not being first, yet still in the title race. Or Real madrid who sacked their manager about 2 months into this season after he won the title the previous season. Or Milan who won the Cl 2 years ago.
We have expectations to win 1 tropy after 4 years without one. How are those expectations greater than clubs who are used to success.
May 16, 2009 at 22:32
hey geoff, sorry for being abusive to grovers earlier, are you at a eurovision party??
May 16, 2009 at 22:34
God there are some real beauties on the Eurovision contest.
May 16, 2009 at 22:35

May 16, 2009 at 22:49
GGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tuncay is class!! We should defo buy him when Boro go down.
May 16, 2009 at 22:51
Thierry, you have as much right as anyone to air your views on Arsenal.
Sorry I am not posting back on ACLF. Yogi is a top bloke as I said earlier and I love reading his posts, and those of some of the regulars both positive and negative, but some on there just cant accept any critical comment on Arsenal or Arsene and I got told to go and support Chavski once too often, which was a shame as I have mentioned it is a good site.
I cant speak for others, but personally I have never considered that my expectations are higher of those of other clubs. I just want the club I support to be managed within the resources available to it, and I believe that if that had happened, there would be more honours and silverware in our trophy cabinet. Winning is not everything but competing to win everything is.
Not quite sure what your alias is on ACLF or if you are leading me somewhere with your post, but if you are here to debate without insult then welcome,
May 16, 2009 at 22:52
stu
i like the way you think
if someone scores on motd we should buy them
tuncay lol
May 16, 2009 at 22:53
Well Manure….English Champions
…..Inter…..Italian Champions
…..Barca…..Spanish Champs
Congrats Thierry you have picked up the double so far.
I hope you can the Champions league that you deserve.
I hope both Iniesta and Henry will be ready for the CL final….I hope cuz Manure will play the same 9 men behind he ball crap. So Barca need every once of creativity they can get.
May 16, 2009 at 22:54
Whats aclf then?
May 16, 2009 at 22:54
Pat… you just want your club to try it’s hardest at whatever it does… we have been guilty of not doing that this year.
I don’t understand why we shouldn’t have the same expectations as the best clubs in Europe? We charge more than all of them… and turn over more than all but 3.
We are in that bracket now… lowering expectations is not the basis of a winning club or business. No one sets out to be 4th best… if that is your mentality… you’ll always lead a pretty average life. Be the best… or the best you can be.
May 16, 2009 at 22:57
Looking at the positives, I feel with Arshavin we have a team that can do a number on nearly all of the teams outside the top three, nearly all of the time.
And that’s half the battle really, winning all the games against the lesser lights and just making sure you don’t lose too many points against the fellow big boys.
In that context, next season could see a more sustained challenge. If Rosicky gets fit I would bank on it.
May 16, 2009 at 22:58
goonerpress
dont ask or look at aclf
theres like a gay internet blog war between fans of this blog and aclf.
its best left alone.
May 16, 2009 at 23:00
Paulinho, I’m really confident that if we can bolster the defence… we can challenge next year.
The team was solid with Gallas in the back 4… he was really the demise of our year.
May 16, 2009 at 23:01
paulinho
i agree. our performances in the league against the top 3 are good bar the chelsea. But we lost to stoke and hull, lol. thats asenes arsenal
May 16, 2009 at 23:02
pedro are you saying gallas was the demise or gallas’s injury?
May 16, 2009 at 23:03
His injury…
May 16, 2009 at 23:05
I’m off gents. Goodnight.
May 16, 2009 at 23:05
Gallas and Arshavin are big game players, big game temperaments. And the good thing as well is one is a defensive lynch-pin and the other is an offensive lynch-pin.
At both ends of the pitch we’ll have cold blooded influences.
May 16, 2009 at 23:05
Oh and Pedro, are you from Spain?
May 16, 2009 at 23:06
No GP, just out here for a week!
May 16, 2009 at 23:07
Oh I see. Lucky you! Just a getaway from beautiful British weather or working reasons?
May 16, 2009 at 23:10
Just getting away from the UK!
The weather was great when I left… but Manchester looked awful today!
If England had great weather, it would be the best place to live!
Where are you based GP?
May 16, 2009 at 23:10
Paulinho, what would you do with Kolo?
May 16, 2009 at 23:12
sorry i had to ask
your just never sure these days whether to support a player or drive him out of the club…
gallas has been brilliant considering arsenes unbelievably poor man management. Yesterday on here i said he was my 2nd in line after AA for player of the season.
We lost him before our man u semi this year and flamini last year against man u.
next year we are due massively
May 16, 2009 at 23:12
I see and I agree.
I’m based in the UK mate. Outskirts of London. Town called Slough.
May 16, 2009 at 23:13
Just watched eurovision. just thought I’d share that with you. what a load of bollocks. some of the women would make good defensive midfielders.
May 16, 2009 at 23:14
Some observations from the game :
1. Evra – was fortunate; he would have been the defender who took the blame if we had won. Was caught out of position and beaten on numerous occasions and if Rooney had not defended for long stretches of the game, would have been found wanting. Who’s the baby now?
2. 4-5-1 : AW seems to be carrying a scar from the previous game. With nothing but pride to play for, I would have imagined that he would cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war in a 4-4-2 with Arshavin and Nasri moving up into almost a 4-2-2-2.
3. Rio – you could see the difference that Rio’s absence created. This is why it is so critical to have two strong central defenders every game. The mancs have suffered whenever either Rio or Vidic has been injured.
4. Subs – didn’t quite get why he subbed Arshavin and Nasri. I would have prefered he sub RvP with Bendtner and Denilson for Theo. Toure and Song were doing a great job, so might have made sense to bring Nasri into the centre and push Theo out left. Liked the applause that Gibbs got when he came off – this lad will go far. Wished his shot had gone in – would have done wonders for his confidence.
5. Ade – not missed at all.
May 16, 2009 at 23:15
Anyway. Shall wake up early for tomorrow’s edition!
May 16, 2009 at 23:15
David Brent’s place.
May 16, 2009 at 23:15
i meant liverpool
May 16, 2009 at 23:16
Pedro,I would get the monster CB and then I would just rotate the three of them Kolo,Gallas, Monster
It can be Monster/Gallas Monster/KOLO..in Europe against smaller technical teams it would be KOlo/Gallas in my opinion.
I dont think Gallas would mind some rotation he is getting older now. Plus Kolo would be off for the ACN so he woundt feel as neglected..in that period.
I guess Djoru and SOng would be back up when KOLO is at the ACN.
What do you think Pedro?
May 16, 2009 at 23:17
Song will be at the acn won’t he?
May 16, 2009 at 23:18
We should buy ricardo fuller! He’s fuckin brilliant! WHY WHY WHY DELILAH!!!!!!!
May 16, 2009 at 23:19
Ja_Gun, we need at least three strong CBs. JD/Song/Kolo/Senderos are the back ups. Gallas needs to stay and we need to get another gaint, and I mean GIANT, preferably from the central/eastern european or south Americal leagues.
May 16, 2009 at 23:19
Also Pedro what do you think of my overall suggestion for the team formation/personnel next year?
would not mind giving Quaresma a try for the right wing…if he is cheap.
Ideally I would sell Ade and promote Walcott to the centre. I was suggesting Elia from Twente to replace him on the right flank..but maybe Quaresma can work as well.
So against small teams we can play 4-4-2 with
………………..Al…………………
Sag………Kolo/New…..Gal/New…..Clichy
Nas/Elia/Quares….Cesc…..Song/New….Arsh/Rosick..
………..Vela/Theo/Eddy…….RVP/Bendy………
Porgebnyak can join us in January for the run in.
Against bigger teams we could switch to 4-3-3
………………..Al………………..
Sag………Kolo/New…..Gal/New……Clichy
….Cesc/Den…….SOng/New…….Rosick/Nas….
….RVP/Theo…..Eddy/Pogreb…..Arsh/Bend/Vela…..
May 16, 2009 at 23:19
Pedro
In regards to Kolo, I’m strictly butterside up
Nah, I would try and bring in another centre back ahead of him. I love the guy but he’s one of the main culprits when it comes to spreading panic throughout the side.
He’s not bad though so I wouldn’t get rid of him for the sake of it. He played well today I thought, stepping out ahead of the United strikers, but all too often he doesn’t play as agressively in the big games.
May 16, 2009 at 23:20
goonerpress.
dont slate eurovision. Norway was awesome
May 16, 2009 at 23:21
Oh yeah I forgot Song will be at the ACN as well..therefore we need another young emerging defender for that period.
Sahko?
Or someone who deosnt mind sitting on the bench most of the time….(please not Silvestre)
May 16, 2009 at 23:22
that was me not goonerpress. The norwegian has got a proper punch me face. wtf has he done with his eyebrows?
May 16, 2009 at 23:24
GP, I know it well… the home of Budweiser brewing in the UK!
Incesc… the fans didn’t drive Ade out… Wenger did. Criticising the manager after a bad year when you’re a player isn’t on. Ade didn’t perform this year… and whilst I like him… he’s not Arsenal material and will never be as good as Drogba.
May 16, 2009 at 23:25
Ja… I’d love a monster at the back… question is, who!
Paulinho… I have a simliar opinion of Kolo… I love him, but he can’t cut it unless Gallas is there…
May 16, 2009 at 23:26
So it seems we need 2 defenders….or one plus Senderos…but if Milan keeps Senderos….
then we need 2 defenders.
1 Experienced Monster
1 Young Emerging Monster
These 2 plus Gallas and Djuru can do for that ACN period….but knowing Wenger he will count Silvestre as one of these defenders.
Milan may well keep Sendy because…
Maldini(40) is retiring
the other centre back Favalli is 37
So maybe pretty soon Milan will have
Senderos and Thiago Silva(Brazil) paired up in defense.
May 16, 2009 at 23:27
hahahah sorry goonermichael for the mix up.
i spent ages going on in my drunk state going on about norways eyebrows to my girlfriend and her crew but none of them batted an eyelid. glad to know someone else noticed
May 16, 2009 at 23:31
Just read this on newsnow
http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/309823/Dutch-striker-stalls-on-new-deal-at-Arsenal.html
I know it’s the notw but if there’s any truth in it I think we should sell him and move on.
May 16, 2009 at 23:36
Silvestre is crap. He does not belong in an Arsenal shirt!
May 16, 2009 at 23:40

Wenger transfer fund cut to £13m
Arsene Wenger’s summer transfer budget has been slashed to £13million by the board in a move that is likely to infuriate already iriate Arsenal fans.
Wenger, whose team last won a trophy in 2005, was given the news shortly before the noisy exchange with shareholders last Thursday, in which many fans questioned the manager’s judgment for the first time in his 13 years at the club……….if that is true that is fucked up
May 17, 2009 at 00:04
bbk
That’s bollocks about 13 million. I bet you voted that wenger can turn it around lol.
May 17, 2009 at 00:08
lolllll g.m i think you know what i would of voted for lolllllll
May 17, 2009 at 00:14
Wenger wont spend anything anyway. 13m or more, it would still all be kept!
May 17, 2009 at 00:23
This summer will be different otherwise he’s out and I think he knows it.
May 17, 2009 at 00:29
arsene has never spent 13 million
in 12 or so years he has never spent anything, it was always money he made for himself through sales.
its amazing really, well done arsene
things have changed though
May 17, 2009 at 00:30
13 million to spend is bollocks, and i do believe that is the figure for him to deal with
May 17, 2009 at 00:31
well start with keeping a few players, then things might change not all this breaking up your squad its a vicious circle
May 17, 2009 at 00:31
i still cant believe norway won!!!!!
and i cant believe people are slagging rvp.
May 17, 2009 at 00:32
in order for us to try and compete for trophys wenger has to be able to spend more the 13 million otherwise it will be as you are again
May 17, 2009 at 00:33
well if he stalling on a deal it’s obvious he want’s out
May 17, 2009 at 00:34
bbk
the thing is, us humans are very predictable.
arsene wont change.
he gets pleasure out of not spending, last year was his extreme but even though he knows it he wont change
May 17, 2009 at 00:36
ade is worth 15 mil
senderos 5 mil
thats 41 million if arsene has been promised 13
May 17, 2009 at 00:36
he needs to,otherwise it will be the same outcome for us
May 17, 2009 at 00:37
43 sorry
May 17, 2009 at 00:37

May 17, 2009 at 00:48
who made 2nd 3rd and 4th??????????
May 17, 2009 at 00:49
For defensive mid….suggestions
De ROSSI
Roma wont be in the CL next year
Melo
Well Fiorentina maybe in the CL..so not sure if they would sell etc.
Cana
Not sure if they would sell their Captain either.
De-Rossi is not big and strong but he is combative….so maybe he s the best option.
What do you guys think….but then Wneger does not want to kill Denilson and Song…..
and Diaby doesnt play there I guess.
May 17, 2009 at 00:50
Andrew lloyd webber had his hair blowdried especially
May 17, 2009 at 00:50
well from what wenger was saying after today it looks like song will be our new c.b for all i care he can kill denilson who gives a fuck about him anyway
May 17, 2009 at 00:51
Andrew lloyd webber had his hair blowdried especially…LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
May 17, 2009 at 00:51

chamone
May 17, 2009 at 00:53
TUrkey azebaijan and iceland not that order though
May 17, 2009 at 00:54
i love it when wenger talks about killing players.
that guy is mental
May 17, 2009 at 00:55
Alves was highly rated prior to his boro nightmare .
how can you gauge any player that plays for them .
if he’s going cheap id rather take a punt on him than bitchslap , or ade for that matter ..
its like the pot calling the kettle black ..
you know how certain players play well for certain teams .. boro play shit football .
thats why alves cant score ..
think about big phil or ramos who are great managers . and why they couldnt make it at another club ..
sometimes you just need the right fit , i think alves is a class player in a very shite team .
he would be no worse than reyes …
May 17, 2009 at 00:56
ok cool
May 17, 2009 at 00:57
nah ethan he’s shit the dutch league suited him down to the ground
May 17, 2009 at 00:58
ja gunnar
i reckon with the premier league being the best around at the moment we should look in england for a defensive midfielder.
feiliani ir arteta would be awesome and if they are at everton surely they would want to play in the champions league
May 17, 2009 at 00:59
i mean my 1st pick is david villa , has been for years ..
but how would le boss feel bidding 25 + million for 1 player ?
we all know the answer
May 17, 2009 at 01:00
ethan
its crazy to compare alves and adebor, ade is much better, goals prove it
May 17, 2009 at 01:01
i was thinking about the d.m situation and the player that has come to mind who might fit in if wenger did look at the prem for that department is dixon etuhu from fulham
May 17, 2009 at 01:02
bbk
never heard of him.
felliani though come on. hes great.
May 17, 2009 at 01:03
he has gone about his business well and helped fulham to a very respectable 7th for there standards,i reckon he would be a decent choice.Wenger thinks he’s going to use song as a c.b from now he’s trying to be clever again.
May 17, 2009 at 01:04
Full name Dickson Paul Etuhu
Date of birth 8 June 1982 (age 26)
Place of birth Kano, Nigeria
Height 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m)
Playing position Midfielder
May 17, 2009 at 01:05
that would be a wenger type signing i.m.o
May 17, 2009 at 01:05
wenger pretended he was going to use song as a centre back at the end of last season too
it all spin,
arsene wengers magical wonder world where fabregas is a forwaard and nasri is a defensive midfielder
May 17, 2009 at 01:07
we need a player that doesn’t like crossing the halfway line etuhu fits into that fellaini don’t
May 17, 2009 at 01:09
wengers comments today,i wanted to see song in the c.b position to see how he does
May 17, 2009 at 01:38
It gives me much pleasure to see The Arsenal 18 points clear of Tottenham Hotspurs. Wow thats a big gap, but the sobering thing is that The Arsenal are 18 points behind Manchester United. That is the harsh reality, & if the football department & The Board attempt to dimiss that gap between where we are now, & where any red & white blooded Arsenal supporter wants to be, then the frustration that some of us feel, is just the tip of the iceberg.
May 17, 2009 at 01:44
……..So to the people who have had their cages rattled by Geoff’s cold hard truth posts about where The Club is @ May 2009, I would suggest the best way to deal with it is to harass the The Club, not Geoff coz its quite simply not Geoffs fault.
May 17, 2009 at 01:45
and if wenger only has 13 million to spend that points gap will widen and shorten
May 17, 2009 at 01:47
The past couple of articles geoff has posted are spot on i do not disagree one bit in what he has been saying it’s only the truth…..
May 17, 2009 at 01:54
It takes a big man to implement a system that works, but it takes an even bigger man to admit that he was wrong.
I want to believe that Le Prof is that man, who will become an even better manager from listening to good advice, & running with it. Coz @ the end of the day we are all in it together.
I am hoping that by not taking adebayor to rainy town, Le Prof has taken a stand about not taking anymore shit from players who compromise the loyalty of the fans (the very heart of this world famous Club). If this is the case people, I really think that the path to number 14 Championship has begun. The Pheonix may just be rising
May 17, 2009 at 01:55
BBK I thought u had bolted, good to see ya
May 17, 2009 at 01:55
Just Watched the Ade interview….He said that he never wanted to go to Milan. Its all the News Paper Bollocks.
May 17, 2009 at 01:59
I think its time ade did all his talking on the pitch, & shut the fuck up in front of a microphone. He is delued if he thinks he has turned into star status from one good season, & should pull his head in, or piss off. It will be for the good for everyone involved, least of all the fans who still feel jilted by his summer soap opra.
May 17, 2009 at 01:59
*deluded
May 17, 2009 at 02:04
Mind you, putting things into persepctive, how shitty must it be being a Geordie. For a split second they have watched, in their words, the greatest escape from the abyss, only to be thrown back into it, 5 minutes later. Thank God I don’t follow the Bar Codes
May 17, 2009 at 02:05
Am sick of Wenger’s shit.
May 17, 2009 at 02:08
I dont remember it vididly but i do remember whenj everyone was complaining about Ade giving 2 very contradictory interviews. One where he said he wanted to stay and another when he said he would consider leaving. Or somehing like that.
May 17, 2009 at 02:10
For all the poeple wanting Bassong he was shite today. Got sent off and was partly at fault for Fulhams goal. Not good enough for us anyway, and he is pretty slow too.
May 17, 2009 at 02:12
And after todays showing and his obvious ability o wouldnt mind Tuncay. Boro are basically down so he would be cheap.
May 17, 2009 at 02:17
Where tha fack is everyone gone to? Fuck sake lads!
May 17, 2009 at 02:19
Media spin….if its done it to all our players…Cesc, Hleb, Van Persie, Pink Boots, Theo… and Arshavin already and he just came!
Doesnt suprise me that they did their shite against Ade and its working…how fuckin controllin are the media against Arsenal fans?
May 17, 2009 at 02:22
i agree with that one stu, tucay would not be a bad signing at all
May 17, 2009 at 02:22
Also In the Interview…Ade said that playing up front by himself in 2-3 games takes a massive toll on him physically and he just cant keep doing it for 10 games stretches…clearly not happy with the 4-5-1 formation we have…which is why we always do better in a 4-4-2
May 17, 2009 at 02:23
he gives you goals and work rate something bendtner can’t do
May 17, 2009 at 02:23
Tucay is shite people…one game doesnt change a thing
If he was so special…Boro wouldnt be where they are today…ive seen him miss unbelievable sitters…worse than Pink boots.
May 17, 2009 at 02:24
Exactly BBK
May 17, 2009 at 02:25
exactly what david??????????
May 17, 2009 at 02:26
13 Million in the kitty is not good news…United have to pay back depths of over 60 Million and we owe 20 a season on our stadium….if we are making over 200million turner over on the new stadium…If there was ever a time to spend it is now!
May 17, 2009 at 02:27
have u ever seen bendtner score an spectacular goal
May 17, 2009 at 02:28
Bendy’s work rate is shite compared to Ade
May 17, 2009 at 02:29
BBK…anytime Bendy scores at all that is spectacular in itself…the fact that the ball entered the damn net.
May 17, 2009 at 02:29
all this rubbish about wenger not wanting to spend the club in the ground is bollocks he owe’s us a maximum of 3 worldy signing’s and maybe 1 acceptable in order to challenge for a trophy
May 17, 2009 at 02:30
lolllllll david spot on there
May 17, 2009 at 02:32
You two must be blind. Ade has lost all of his workrate while Bendtner has definately inproved his massively.
May 17, 2009 at 02:32
i have had enough of watching this lot deliver f.a it’s time for a change they said we would be on par with the best in the world moving stadium they have lied to us in a bad way,all they have done is fed there fat faces and fucked us fans over BIG TIME!!!!!!cunts…
May 17, 2009 at 02:33
have i said anything about ade stu?i was talking about bendtner
May 17, 2009 at 02:35
see now i don’t know if selling adebayor this summer would be a good thing i know people hate him and so do i but i reckon one last season to really see if he has lost it?????????
May 17, 2009 at 02:35
BBK “he gives you goals and workrate something bendtner cant do”. If not Ade then who were you talking about there?
May 17, 2009 at 02:36
we keep breaking the team up and it’s never going to settle this summer with some more signings and less of the shit playing for us we might come closer
May 17, 2009 at 02:36
Well you heard it from the hourses mouth…it makes Sense….you play a 4-5-1 in the CL…with Ade up top by himself…play another home game 4-5-1…
Takes a massive toll on him physically..which striker can hold up play succesfully in a 4-5-1 for 10 games at a stretch?
Van P. was shite today by himself…Pink Boots has had 1 good game in a 4-5-1….up top by himself…and even Wenger knows he’s shite by himself otherwise he wont be played out wide.
May 17, 2009 at 02:36
tuncay stu
May 17, 2009 at 02:36
This may be old news now but I felt Wenger has given a couple of very poor interviews lately. His words on Arsenal.com along with the interview that was reported on in an earlier post on this site as well are pretty shameful. I feel the man has no right to be asking for more time to deliver at this point, and in fact if anything should be very grateful of the patience he has garnered from the faithful in the past five years. Regardless of financial constraints it is the right and privilege of every supporter to desire victory and share the frustration of defeat. If he feels as if he has killed someone then he should take some guilt out of that and sincerely just feel he must simply get the job done now. Instead he lashes out at the supporters, and shameful that is.
May 17, 2009 at 02:37
BBK…your post at 02:35
Spot on.
May 17, 2009 at 02:38
we keep breaking the team up and it’s never going to settle this summer with some more signings and less of the shit playing for us we might come closer????????? does anyone agree with this
May 17, 2009 at 02:38
OK then BBK. Sorry about the mix up. You are innocent!
May 17, 2009 at 02:39
lol stu
.
May 17, 2009 at 02:40
Agreed BBK. The team needs to stay together…Specially since Ade’s our best striker at the 4-5-1
May 17, 2009 at 02:41
LAzer
You’re speaking the mind and heart of just about every gooner at the moment…how can we bear to wait another 2 years of this?
Does it take 7 years to form a championship defense? Midfield? Attack? Goal Keeper?
May 17, 2009 at 02:43
not really BBK, I think in our setup some players need to be moved. Diaby and Ade are my prime candidates, I think we can find much better value for money in the sale of those two. Silvestre, if we can offload him for anything I would take it at this point.
May 17, 2009 at 02:43
David- it’s never going to work, keep chopping and changing all the time it has got us nowhere as i said this summer make the correct signings while keeping the player we all hate at the moment at the club and if by the end of next season it has not worked out sell the cunt
May 17, 2009 at 02:44
May 17, 2009 at 02:44
David, we dont have abest forward in a 4-5-1. They are all shite in that formation. All of them!
May 17, 2009 at 02:44
but then lazer we would have to satrt all over again it’s not working selling players every year
May 17, 2009 at 02:45
start*
May 17, 2009 at 02:45
I dont hate Ade.
And i think if you hate Ade…you’ve been sucked into the Media Spin.
Ade said he never wanted to leave Arsenal. He always wanted to play for Arsenal…and he wouldve paid for his own transfer fee from Monaco…
Watch the Interview.
May 17, 2009 at 02:46
just for this new season keep all of them, then as i said it don’t work out sell then
May 17, 2009 at 02:48
David-alot of people are sick of him me to.i just think one more season from him with the correct purchases we might come closer then what we have in these 4 years, continuity is the key to success not chopping and changing….
May 17, 2009 at 02:50
Continuity is the key..
Its just mind bobbling that the media was against Hleb, Flamini and the player that actually stayed is the one thats hated.
May 17, 2009 at 02:53
We haven’t sold a single one of Wenger’s development projects. So you’re telling me the great AW has not made a single error in the transfer market since we started rebuilding. It is clear that some of his buys have not panned out the way we anticipated.
May 17, 2009 at 02:56
im telling you.we need at least to keep one team together these past couple of seasons have been no good losing players every year is not good i just think with the right mix and blend in the summer we might just have that outside chance of pulling a trophy out the bag next season to shut all these fuckers up,watching them mancs win the league today was not good.
May 17, 2009 at 02:59
people on here might think im the doom monger, but all i want is for us to be successful again as do everyone else on here, these past years have been hell for us and wenger has not helped things alot of the time. This season in order to have a good crack at it we need to stay together not be broken up…….
May 17, 2009 at 02:59
people on here might think im the doom monger, but all i want is for us to be successful again as do everyone else on here, these past years have been hell for us and wenger has not helped things alot of the time. This season in order to have a good crack at it we need to stay together not be broken up…….that is the only way it will work
May 17, 2009 at 03:00
sorry my bad double post
May 17, 2009 at 03:05
I feel we should use the following players as strikers and forwards next season
Walcott, Vela, Bendtner, RVP, Arshavin, Eduardo
We should purchase Zhirkov for left midfield along with the returning Traore. On the right we should play Rosicky and Ramsey/Wilshere with Cesc, Song, Denilson, Nasri in the center. I would also add Sakho (if Gallas and Toure are both willing to stay and fight for there place) and have JD, Toure, Gallas, Sakho, for CB.
May 17, 2009 at 03:05
May 17, 2009 at 03:07
i watched sakho tonight he will cause us problems at the back he is an unexperienced player its not what we need right now
May 17, 2009 at 03:08
the bottom line is we need to keep ade and pair him up with a top class striker not v.p bendtner that has not worked and will not work i.m.o
May 17, 2009 at 03:10
Those are very few changes, we really only get rid of Diaby, Ade and Silvestre with Ade being the only first-11 sort being sold. But if we commit to Walcott and Arshavin playing up top or as second strikers I think we can add strength to other areas. We won’t have to play a player out of place in left or right midfield if we add genuine talent like Zhirkov.
May 17, 2009 at 03:14
sagna toure gallas clichy
gourcuff cesc
yaya
tevez a.a
adebayor
May 17, 2009 at 03:17
Yea we can keep Ade and give him one more try..but when the ACN comes..he will be gone…can we rely on the rest….I guess we have to wait and see….if we have injuries then in that period we should go for Pogrebnyak.
May 17, 2009 at 03:18
If we could afford Gorcuff, Yaya and Tevez AND hold on to Ade then yeah I would take that, but we all know that is impossible. That is why Wenger must be ruthless now and wield the axe where we can get the most value and have enough in our team for cover. I think Wenger does better with the 20 mill he gets for Ade.
May 17, 2009 at 03:18
we will not be getting zhirkov,so i think you should just forget about that one, theo is not a natural finisher he will not score the same amount of goals as henry did in one season, selling players each season will get us nowhere we need to keep this lot together,it’s the only way forward for us.I agree we need to play a.a in his correct position and add a natural winger thus freeing up options in there correct places.having playmakers on the wings is our downfall
May 17, 2009 at 03:20
If not Sakho then we should spend the 10-12 mill for Hangeland.
May 17, 2009 at 03:23
We just have so many strikers..I think Pogreb would do well because he can score with both feet, his head and can take good freekicks.
But there seems to be no space for him really.
May 17, 2009 at 03:23
What we need is a c.b,d.m one winger and another striker, only then we will have the correct players coming on in there rightfull positions, and not keep having play makers on the wings we are not barca and never will be
May 17, 2009 at 03:27
My first choice would be Zhirkov, but the point still remains for the need of a genuine left/right sided midfielder. We need to play Walcott where you know Wenger bought him to play eventually. I have no doubt AW plans on converting him to a striker. If that’s the case then move him up there with a 6 man rotation NOW. I believe we have enough skill in the rotation of RVP, Bendtner, Walcott, Vela, Arshavin, Eduardo to cover for the loss of Ade.
We know we have very limited funds, and we know we need to rebuild our defense for sure. I am even willing to let project Denilson/Song continue in the DCM role just as long as we buy a CB. I think the best way to accommodate all that is to sell Ade and use the funds in the right places.
May 17, 2009 at 03:27
sagna toure hangeland clichy
natural winger ? cesc experienced dm who likes to defend, nasri
adebayor lets just say tevez with him up front lol
having this sort of pesonell will allow and free up the likes of rosicky,a.a walcott and a few others to affect the game and have a impact when making subs
May 17, 2009 at 03:33
lazer-Think about it properly,i know he’s been a cunt this year and done fuck all but keep breaking up teams will not help us, as i said keep this lot together and add to the mix we might be able to achieve something at least next season,i think one more season of putting up with him might be hard take but with the correct help and experience he might come up trumps for us like he did last season.one more year to see if he has got what it takes to turn it around if by then he’s not bucked up he can BUCK OFF.
May 17, 2009 at 03:37
if wenger does go for the 4/3/3 formation here’s how i think he should play it
sagna toure gallas clichy
cesc rosicky
yaya?lol
nasri ade a.a
May 17, 2009 at 03:43
The bottom line is,we need to keep the team together and not get rid just for this new season is that to much to ask?add some experience and we might be on to a winner,if by the end of next season we end up in the same boat,so be it at least we would of had a go………… ,
May 17, 2009 at 03:50
4-3-3
…………………Al………………..
Sag……..Kolo/New….Gallas/New……Clichy
……………..Song/New………………..
….Cesc/Den……………..Rosick/Nas…….
…Theo/RVP……..Ade/Eddy……Arsh/Bend….
Vela is the CC and FAcup striker plus backup.
I see no place for Diaby really…but Wenger will keep him.
May 17, 2009 at 03:52
May 17, 2009 at 03:53
in order to raise the extra cash i think bendtner, eboue, denilson should be sold if there are any takers for them snap there hands off for the cash
May 17, 2009 at 04:05
is this bbk
May 17, 2009 at 04:09
yes it is bbk lolllllll abdul after sitting there watching the mancs win the league today i thought to myself we need to keep this team together and not break it up as we have done so often
May 17, 2009 at 04:11
CONTINUITY!!!!!is my new word, this is what has been letting us down big time,as i keep repeating myself we need to keep hold of adebayor for one more season add the experience in there and i think we will be closer.
May 17, 2009 at 04:17
BBK, i hear you mate. Consistency and continuity is the key. But i would rather get rid of Ade now and either bring in noone or some almost retired class striker that will be content to 10-15 games max. They would help the young’uns so much more than Ade and would add some much need class up front.
Also rather get rid of Silvestre and Diaby. They arent good at anything. Keeping them would do no good.
May 17, 2009 at 04:28
but stu getting rid of ade and bringing in a new striker will appease some of the fans but not the players it will take at least 1 season for the new striker to bed in i just feel we need to add the correct experience to the first team and not break it up as we have been doing, just one more season to really see if ade has lost interest in arsenal i know he’s been a cunt but one more season will not hurt i.m.o.its for the sake of continuity it’s what we have been lacking so much
May 17, 2009 at 04:30
But what if he really is as shit as we all think. If he is shite again next season then we will have to sell him for nothing and bring in some new striker. Setting us back another season.
And you know as well as I do that if he plays like this again next season then Wenger will stil start him in most of the games when better and more deserving younger players should be getting their chance.
May 17, 2009 at 04:31
Sitting there today and watching them mancs lift that trophy for the 18th time was bollocks 3 fucking season in a row f.f.s is not good,it just got me thinking how we could better ourselves next season and that will start by not breaking the team up……
May 17, 2009 at 04:34
I know. I didnt watch it as best i could. But it was fucking everywhere.
Arshavin showed that true quality doesnt need much time to bed in tho. Buy early and they will settle early. And for the sake of Ade and Silvestre/Diaby, it would imo help the squad to get of those players. They offer nothing imo. Ade on his day is good but when was the last time he was great? Sometime last season?
May 17, 2009 at 04:34
last season he scored 30 goals whether or not that was luck or not who knows,i just feel we need to stop breaking the team up.
May 17, 2009 at 04:37
but a.a is 27 he’s at the age where you can hit the ground running where as i feel a younger inexperienced player can not do also a.a is quality you will not get a young player of his quality at the prices we are willing to pay.
May 17, 2009 at 04:38
True but Wenger always breaks his teams up. Either by choice or someone good being allowed to leave.
Ronaldo wanted to go in the summer but Fergie said fuck that your going nowhere. Wenger kept Ade. Arguably the worst of those that left/wanted to go.
May 17, 2009 at 04:39
you hit the nail on the head there stu wenger always breaks his teams up that is where we have come unstuck in order to win trophys you need to keep and add to the team
May 17, 2009 at 04:40
So stop buying young players. AA, Ade, VP, Toure have all expressed annoyances at the inexperience of the squad and called for experience and quality to be brought in.
If Wenger didnt hear any of their cries than fuck! we are doomed!
May 17, 2009 at 04:41
Yeah BBK, Add to the squad! Dont make it good and sell them!
May 17, 2009 at 04:43
well wenger has said he will go for 2 experienced players whether or not that happens is another story, the only way we are going to move on is by not selling that’s the only way it will work and that does mean keep hold of adebayor for 1 more season.
May 17, 2009 at 04:47
I would be more than happy to hold onto everyone is the poorest players didnt get a vital role.
I would gladly keep Ade is he always gave his all like the Ade of old. If Diaby didnt only play in the big games and got some brains.
But Silvestre, i just cant stand him. Getting rid of him wouldnt have any negative effect because he isnt even a starter unless 2 CBs are injured. Get shot of him and bring Senderos back as the cover.
May 17, 2009 at 04:48
im outta here take care le goonerssss, remember the only way we are going to move forward is by not breaking the team up every year………….
May 17, 2009 at 04:50
Good night then Boy Better Know…….
May 17, 2009 at 05:21
whats the bet that ade starts V’s stoke , scores a brace and all is forgiven .
wenger left him out of the manc’s game because he’s useless .
but ade will start V stoke so he can get his 2 goals V’s a shit team and once more justify his inclusion in the team ..
ade would have struggled if he was a striker at boro , you would be lucky if he finished the season with 5 goals .
May 17, 2009 at 07:19
Ethan thats just rubbish…
Ade is better than Ricardo fuller and the likes of Benjani at ManShitty
I dont understand where all this hatred is coming from…He already explained that he wasnt happy with the position he was playing in the 4-5-1 this season and it takes a massive toll on him physically
Which one of our players is the dogs bollocks playing alone as a striker? It sure as shite wasnt Van Persie…and its sure as shite isnt Pink Boots or else he wont be played out wide.

Watch the Interview Again
For those who dont understand the accent its quite simple
1. He said never said he wanted to leave Arsenal
2. He said he wouldve left any club in the world to join Arsenal for free.
3. He doesnt understand why the fans are Angry with him over Milan. Because the 2 contradicting stories where all media spin.
4. He says he can only play the 4-5-1 for 2-3 games…but cant keep playing it for 10 and more..it takes a massive toll on him.
5. He says the support or lack thereoff has affected his game…while he aint making excuses for the missed open goals..he says he knows he has to work hard to put it right.
6. He Never wanted to leave Arsenal and still doesnt want to….(which is prob why out of Hleb, Flam, Ade he is still the only one in the shirt)
7. It was difficult because the fans believe the newspapers and they start booing…but he is still dissapointed with himself…
May 17, 2009 at 07:54
He said he never told anyone about his contract as well…he said “if there is anyone out there that can prove that i said that…let them prove it and say it to my face…I never told anyone how i am living”
May 17, 2009 at 07:56
Wow!!! Transfer Budget of one of the top clubs in History!!!!!!!
———————————–
Arsene Wenger’s summer transfer budget has been slashed to £13million by the board in a move that is likely to infuriate already iriate Arsenal fans.
Wenger, whose team last won a trophy in 2005, was given the news shortly before the noisy exchange with shareholders last Thursday, in which many fans
questioned the manager’s judgment for the first time in his 13 years at the club.
May 17, 2009 at 07:59
And Van Persie might be leaving as well…
Arsenal are just brilliant model to show how to Dupe hard earned money of fans.
Thank You for a nice summer transfer kitty. Now we all can sleep without a fuss coz no one ain’t coming
May 17, 2009 at 08:01

Good Morning,
Unfortunately this seems to add weight to what I was told 2 weeks ago.
May 17, 2009 at 08:30
I read this elsewhere from someone i know who has met Adebayor on more than one occasion.
“Adebayor is one of the biggest sh*t stirrers in the club…I have had the misfortune you see this guy backstage at the London Fashion Show, his ego for a start is bigger than his looks and he was throwing “big I am” bullsh*t around by the way Rio was there as well but he had class…this bozo(Ade)was swanning around like a peacock and after being rejected by quite few Models, he then turned to the People who had asked for autographs for some attention he in fact had earlier waved a few of them away…..this guy needs to be kicked out…even if he goes to chelsea and becomes a success i couldn’t care,he thinks he’s Henry but he’s just cardboard cutout, he said and I quote ” I hate to sign autograhs while I’m out shopping for clothes” he forgets the only reason he can buy those expensive clothes is because those every people who want his signture are indirectly paying for them..”
May 17, 2009 at 08:30
I dont know how i managed it somehow i missed the whole game, never watched them northern monkeys celebrating again, but you know something there is a rising tide of bitterness against AW and its getting worse every day when he talks you know full well the same answers, lies, spin call it want you want(the guy could sell sand to the arabs)but i have had enough of him now, please arsene turn off the light on the way out!
