So for all the schoolboys that have been blogging on Le Grove this week, what that means is, the best type of revenge is the type you have waited a long time for to dish out, Barca was 2006, so that’s long enough and cold enough and I for one am ready.
So last night the chavs surprisingly beat the scousers, who surprisingly beat the mancs, who we beat with our academy team, so I have in my own mind discounted them from getting to the final, any of them, in fact I expect us to play Porto in the semis and not the mancs. That then leaves the route clear to face the big boys Barca in the final and have our revenge, the dish that tastes best cold.
That is of course once we have got past Villarreal… but should they still be in it? If they had come to the Grove and be bombarded with missiles I have no doubt that we would be close to forfeiting the game or such, it seems to me that sides from outside of England can do what they want, I mean there is a national enquiry as to whether or not our captain spat on the floor somewhere near Hull City’s assistant managers feet, this is after their manager lied about our manager never shaking hands! What a complete joke!!!
Anyway someone needs to get our manager a new set of contacts as he said he clearly saw coins or boxes thrown at Cesc! Well Arsene, there is a bit of a difference between a coin and a box, which one did you see!
Of course to the students out there that are reading, that was in fact irony, I didn’t really mean it and I’m sure that what he said was lost in translation, and yes I know if I could speak French as well as he can speak English I would be the worlds richest, humblest and most clever man.
Sorry all but this week we appear to have had a lot of AKB’s coming on calling us names, it only happens during school holidays, so we know who they are, the internet gives them a vehicle where they can be naughty and get away with it, well children, not on here you can’t. So please, go away, you’re not welcome.
Ade’s goal is being hailed as the best ever by Theo, well best ever in the champions league anyway, Cesc is slowly returning to form and Andre Arshavin returns for the Wigan game, so Samir Nasri gets another rest, I put his lethargy down to his bout of flu, I think he will be as good as Bobby Pires in time so we should cut him some slack I think.
Still no news on Rosicky, I think he was lost in the African interior when watching Kolo in qualifying last year and Arsenal are spinning us a line, so for all our African readers out there, this is for you.
PLEASE FIND ROSICKY, HE’S OUT THERE SOMEWHERE
I was being ironic again children, forgive me, on the site we often do that!
Have a great day Grovers, 3 more points to play for at the weekend, the we start the countdown to the Yellow submarines and that dish we best like cold.
P.S. Pedro is out of tickets again… so if you can’t make any of the following games, drop him an e-mail… apparently he has a new spread sheet to cope with demand!

Le Grove is now smart phone compatible!

Morning all!
I have been feeling a rant coming on for the couple of weeks before the Man City game and the last week have further underlined the disgust I feel for how our club is being run.
Before I start, let me put up a disclaimer. I am proud of the Arsenal, I am glad that Ade produced that amazing goal against the Yellow Subs, I think AW is a genius and I will not queue up to kick Arsene in the nuts even if we don’t win anything this year.
Having said that, let me put on record why I am disgusted with the way our club is being run.
1. Defence : We have not invested in the defence in the last 10 years. All our key signings are attacking players. Arsene is now talking about a points system where teams get rewarded for scoring goals, regardless of the number of goals they concede. None of our central defensive pairings would make it to the defensive hall of fame. If you watched the Liverpool-Chelsea match, you can see the difference between a Jamie Carragher and any of our CBs. We have a goalkeeper who does not talk to his defensive partners. When he runs out to collect a ball, Gallas and Toure don’t know he is coming because he does not talk to them. I have to confess I am a little relieved that Fabianski will be between the sticks for the rest of the season. Who knows, he might impress AW enough to get the No 1 jersey for next year.
2. Transfers : Why do AW and PHW have radically different points of view on transfer budgets? AW always says we don’t have money, PHW, Danny, et al, always say we have money. From the financial report, it would seem we have 60m+ in free cash, but we don’t spend it.
3. Gazidis : The new CEO seems to be the ultimate yesman. When he first came on board, he spent time sucking up to Arsene. Now he is sucking up to Kroenke. Without a strong CEO, the corporation will not have the backbone to tell AW to stop worrying about making money and focus on winning silverware. We will continue to have a manager goaled on turning a profit for the club and not on winning trophies. Turning a profit is the CEO’s job; if he abdicates that job to Arsene, he will just be a rubber stamp. Mr. Gazidis has already started demonstrating that he does not even harbour the ambitions of being a rubber stamp.
4. Danny, Stan, LBS, The Fat Uzbek, etc….: I am sick and tired of their petty wheeling and dealing. I am yet to hear any of them come out and speak about wanting to win, wanting to see the fans proud of the club. All they talk about is money and control of the club. Even Delia is better than these money bags!
There, I got it out! You can call me any names you want, but the fact of the matter is that our unbeaten run hides the fact that with the exception of Arshavin, all the ills we discussed on this board through the winter are still there. We still need a strong CB pairing, a defensive coach, someone who can debate with AW and not let him run amok, and a willingness to embrace the fundamental truth that winning trophies is what keeps a club strong, not the amount of cash in the bank.
I believe we have a strong chance of reaching the finals of the CL and winning the FA Cup. But I also know that we are one defensive injury away from having Michael Silvestre come on and play in the centre of our defence. That is not good enough!
April 9, 2009 at 09:10
Hopefully we make the final, Rosicky is found safe (in Africa as suggested) and is fit to play, AW plays him before Song and Song then talks to the press right after celebrating our first ever European cup that he feels let down and is definitely looking to leave in the summer!!
Ideal or what?
April 9, 2009 at 09:10
Geoff, the key match for us is Chelsea in the FA Cup. If we can win that match, we are good to go all the way, both in the FA Cup as well as the Champs League.

Iceman, who will pay us that case of Gatorade?
April 9, 2009 at 09:15

I hated seeing Villareal play like the Arsenal of old. We are a pale shadow of ourselves!

The reason why The Arsenal hasn’t won the Champions League, IMHO, in 11 years of wenger is coz they have tried to play too much beautiful football.
If Arsenal wins the Final on penalties, I will savour itas much as if its a 5-0 drubbing. I just want to win. Winning is everything. To win is great. It doesn’t matter how just win. If it means taking out a key oppo player in a final early, do it. Winning is great.
April 9, 2009 at 09:22
Hi GG9, not in the prognostication business, but hope we finish 2nd!
If we crush the chavs in the FA Cup, we should be good enough to go through the ‘dippers away and the chavs at home in the league.

Top post Geoff, but I can’t believe you slated the manager can you speak 54 languages, could you manage a budget, could you become the most successful manager of all time?
Didn’t think so…
Just kidding… half term is nearly over… so the little cunts will stop drinking beer down the ally by the side of my house!
How is everyone today?
April 9, 2009 at 09:22
Nice guys come 2nd
April 9, 2009 at 09:25
gg9, you are absolutely right!
Rob Hughes wrote this morning about the beauty of Ade’s goal and how Ade could not describe how he scored that goal. He says that coaches can’t teach strikers to score, so they focus on what they can teach, which is defence. We have a manager who is the exception; who can build teams that can attack magically, but doesn’t bother practising defending against set pieces.
April 9, 2009 at 09:25
Good thanx Pedro
April 9, 2009 at 09:26
Depressed, Pedro!
Need a 6-0 against Wigan to cheer me up! The last one was against Middlesbrough, if memory serves me right…
April 9, 2009 at 09:29
Pedro, which one is you?
And you have a Sergio Villareal????!!!
April 9, 2009 at 09:30
I am so amazed @ what awaits everyone that loves The Arsenal. Written off, the joke of all outside of the true believing, & yet here we are on the cusp of imortality. I say grab it, & run with it. & as we run shove it up those who have dared to take the piss, like spuds fans & the press. People, its times like this that makes being an arsenal fan so Yin & Yang

April 9, 2009 at 09:42
Oh… and I’ve invented a new word… and after yesterdays post, I believe it is pretty relevant.
Songsitive
Defined:
A word to describe people overly sensitive to criticism of the average performances of Alex Song. Their Songsitivity is mostly manifested in vitriolic statements or tourettes like abuse.

April 9, 2009 at 09:45
a chelsea Barca semi would be close, but I reckon barca would edge it because they have so many points of attack, and messi is just brilliant. Liverpool are one dimensional. stop Gerrard and they are no better than sunderland.
I reckon it should be a Porto Arsenal semi. Arsenal fans would rejoice at the thought but I can tell you Porto are not an easy team. Man U under estimated them and to be honest although Porto beat us 2-0 out there, it could have been 4-0. that would not be an easy game.
should we get Porto, I would take a 1 goal defeat out there and then hope we have enough at the Emirates for them.

The marriage of an 80 year-old man and a 20 year-old woman was the talk of the town!!
After being married a year, the couple went to the hospital for the birth of their first child. The attending nurse came out of the delivery room to congratulate the old gentleman and said, ‘This is amazing. How do you do it at your age?’ The old man grinned and said, ‘You got to keep the old motor running.’
The following year, the couple returned to the hospital for the birth of their second child. The same nurse was attending the delivery and again went out to congratulate the old gentleman. She said, ‘Sir, you are something else… How do you manage it?’ The old man grinned and said, ‘You gotta keep the old motor running.’
A year later, the couple returned to the hospital for the birth of their third child. The same nurse was there for this birth also and after the delivery, she once again approached the old gentleman, smiled, and said, ‘Well, you surely are something else! How do you do it?’ The old man replied, ‘It’s like I’ve told you before, you got to keep the old motor running.’
The nurse, still smiling, patted him on the back and said: Well, I guess it’s time to change the oil. This one’s black.’

A teacher noticed that a little boy at the back of the class was squirming around, scratching his crotch, and not paying attention. She went back to find out what was going on.
He was quite embarrassed and whispered that he had just recently been circumcised and he was quite itchy.
The teacher told him to go down to the principal’s office. He was to telephone his mother and ask her what he should do about it.
He did it and returned to his class. Suddenly, there was a commotion at the back of the room. She went back to investigate only to find him sitting at his desk with his penis hanging out.
‘I thought I told you to call your mom!’ she said.
‘I did,’ he said, ‘And she told me that if I could stick it out till noon, she’d come and pick me up from school.’

a very profound statement if ever I heard one…
If the global crisis continues at the present rate, by the end of this year only two banks will be left operational …. The Blood Bank and the Sperm Bank!
And before you know it, these two will merge and then the whole place will be full of bloody w@nkers

This was written by a British Soldier- he makes a lot of sense!
I work, they pay me.
I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.
In order to earn that pay, I work for the MOD.
I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don’t have to pass a urine test.
Shouldn’t one have to pass a urine test to get a benefit cheque because I have to pass one, to earn it for them? Please understand that I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet.
I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their ass,
drinking beer and smoking dope.
Could you imagine how much money the government would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a benefit cheque?

April 9, 2009 at 09:53
morning all,
is today being treated as a Friday?? Not seen any Jokes from Pedro yet….
I really think we can beat the Yellow subs. Then quite possibly play Porto…..so, we have a good chance of playing Barca in the Final.
Not sure how i would feel bout that !! I would hate to see Henry score against us and lift the cup…..it would really rub salt in the wounds of losing him in the first place……I wish he was some sort of double agent working behind enemy line. He could score two own goals in the last 3 mins to make up for the offside goal they got against us in 2006
April 9, 2009 at 09:53
wengers unwillingness to sacrafice beautiful football for a tactical game has cost Arsenal several trophies over the years.
I dont know whether its a lack of tactical nous or simply a stubbornness to depart from his values, but if I am honest I dont think Arsenal can win the CL with one arm tied behind our back. Maybe he has learnt lessons. Maybe winning the big one is so important to him that he will just make sure we win it this time.

She said . That’s a good idea – you stand by the ironing board while I sit on the sofa and fart!
He said . … What have you been doing with all the grocery money I gave you?
She said . …..Turn sideways and look in the mirror!
He said . . How many men does it take to change a roll of toilet paper?
She said . We don’t know; it has never happened.
She said…What do you call a women who knows where her husband is every night?
He said . . . A widow.
He said . .. . Why are married women heavier than single women?
She said . . . Single women come home, see what’s in the fridge and go to bed. Married women come home, see what’s in bed and go to the fridge.

A good looking man walked into an agent’s office in Hollywood and said ‘I want to be a movie star.’ Tall, handsome and with experience on Broadway, he had the right credentials.
The agent asked, ‘What’s your name?’
The guy said, ‘My name is Penis van Lesbian.’
The agent said, ‘Sir, I hate to tell you, but in order to get into Hollywood , you are going to have to change your name.’
‘I will NOT change my name! The van Lesbian name is centuries old, I will not disrespect my grandfather by changing my name. Not ever.’
The agent said, ‘Sir, I have worked in Hollywood for years… you will NEVER go far in Hollywood with a name like Penis van Lesbian! I’m telling you, you will HAVE TO change your name or I will not be able to represent you.’
‘So be it! I guess we will not do business together’ the guy said and he left the agent’s office.
FIVE YEARS LATER….. The agent opens an envelope sent to his office. Inside the envelope is a letter and a check for $50,000. The agent is awe-struck, who would possibly send him $50,000? He reads the letter enclosed…
‘Dear Sir, Five years ago, I came into your office wanting to become an actor in Hollywood , you told me I needed to change my name. Determined to make it with my God-given birth name, I refused. You told me I would never make it in Hollywood with a name like Penis van Lesbian. After I left your office, I thought about what you said. I decided you were right.. I had to change my name. I had too much pride to return to your office, so I signed with another agent. I would never have made it without changing my name, so the enclosed check is a token of my appreciation, once again many thanks.
Thank you for your advice..
Sincerely,
Dick van

John O’Reilly hoisted his beer and said, ‘Here’s to spending the rest of me life between the legs of me wife!’ That won him the top prize at the pub for the best toast of the night!
He went home and told his wife, Mary, ‘I won the prize for the Best toast of the night’ She said, ‘Aye, did ye now? And what was your toast?’ John said, ‘Here’s to spending the rest of me life, sitting in church beside me wife.’ ‘Oh, that is very nice indeed, John!’ Mary said.
The next day, Mary ran into one of John’s drinking buddies on the street corner. The man chuckled leeringly and said, ‘John won the prize the other night at the pub with a toast about you, Mary.’
She said, ‘Aye, he told me, and I was a bit surprised myself. You know, he’s only been there twice in the last four years. Once he fell asleep, and the other time I had to pull him by the ears to make him come.’

The only way to pull off a Sunday afternoon quickie with their 8 year-old son in the apartment was to send him out on the balcony with a lollypop and tell him to report on all the neighbourhood activities.
He began his commentary as his parents put their plan into operation:
‘There’s a car being towed from the parking lot’, he shouted. An ambulance just drove by.’
‘Looks like the Anderson ’s have company’, he called out. Matt’s riding a new bike….’
‘Looks like the Sanders are moving’
‘Jason is on his skate board….’
After a few moments he announced, ‘The Coopers are having sex!!’
Startled, his Mother and Dad shot up in bed.
Dad cautiously called out,
‘How do you know they are having sex?’
‘Jimmy Cooper is standing on his balcony with a lollipop.’

It is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as when they were younger. When you notice this, try not to yell at them. Some are over-sensitive, and there’s nothing worse than an over-sensitive woman.
My name is Jim. Let me relate how I handled the situation with my wife, Peggy. When I retired a few years ago, it became necessary for Peggy to get a full-time job along with her part-time job, both for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed.
Shortly after she started working, I noticed she was beginning to show her age. I usually get home from the golf club about the same time she gets home from work and although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts dinner. I don’t yell at her. Instead, I tell her to take her time and just wake me when she gets dinner on the table. I generally have lunch in the Men’s Grill at the club so eating out twice is not reasonable. I’m ready for some home-cooked grub when I hit that door..
She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating. But now it’s not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after dinner. I do what I can by diplomatically reminding her several times each evening that they won’t clean themselves. I know she really appreciates this, as it does seem to motivate her to get them done before she goes to bed.
Another symptom of aging is complaining, I think. For example she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour. But, boys, we take ‘em for better or worse, so I just smile and offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it out over two or even three days. That way she won’t have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn’t hurt her any (if you know what I mean).. I like to think tact is one of my strong points.
When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she needs more rest periods. She had to take a break when she was only half finished mowing the lawn. I try not to make a scene. I’m a fair man. I tell her to fix herself a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while. And, as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me too..
I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support Peggy. I’m not saying that showing this much consideration is easy. Many men will find it difficult. Some will even find it impossible! Nobody knows better than I do how frustrating women get as they get older.
However, guys, even if you just use a little more tact and less criticism of your aging wife because of this article, I will consider that writing it was well worthwhile. After all, we are put on this earth to help each other.
Signed,
Jim
EDITOR’S NOTE:
Jim died suddenly on May 27 of a perforated rectum. The police report says he was found with a Calloway extra long 50-inch Big Bertha Driver II golf club jammed up his rear end, with barely 5 inches of grip showing and a sledge hammer laying nearby. His wife Peggy was arrested and charged with murder. The all-woman jury took only 15 minutes to find her Not Guilty, accepting her defence that Jim somehow, without looking, accidentally sat down on his golf club.

This is something to think about when negative people
are doing their best to rain on your parade. So
Remember this story the next time someone who
knows nothing, and cares less, tries to make
your life miserable.
A woman was at her
hairdresser’s getting her hair styled for a trip
to Rome with her husband.
She mentioned the trip to the hairdresser, who responded:
” Rome ? Why would anyone want
to go there? It’s crowded and dirty. You’re
crazy to go to Rome .
So, how are you getting there?”
“We’re taking
Continental,” was the reply. “We got a great rate!”
“Continental?”
exclaimed the hairdresser. ” That’s a terrible airline.
Their
planes are old, their flight attendants are ugly, and they’re always late.
So, where are you staying in Rome ?”
“We’ll be at this exclusive little place over on Rome ’s Tiber River called Teste.”
“Don’t go any further. I know that
place. Everybody
thinks its gonna be something special and exclusive, But
it’s really a dump, the worst hotel in the city! The rooms are small, the service is surly, and they’re overpriced.. So, whatcha’ doing
when you get there?”
“We’re going to go to see the Vatican and we hope To see the Pope.”
“That’s rich,” laughed the hairdresser.
“You
and a million other people trying to see him.. He’ll
look the size of an ant.” Boy, good luck
on this lousy trip of yours. You’re going to need it.”
A month later, the woman again came in for a hairdo.
The hairdresser asked her about her trip to Rome .
“It was wonderful,” explained the woman, “not only were we on time in one of Continental’s brand new planes, But it was overbooked, and they bumped us up to first class. The food and wine were wonderful, and I had a handsome 28-year-old steward who waited on me hand and foot.
And the hotel was great! They’d just finished a $5 million remodeling job,and now it’s a jewel, The finest hotel in the city. They,
too, were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us their owner’s suite at no extra charge!”
“Well,” muttered the hairdresser, “that’s all well and good, But
I know you didn’t get to see the Pope.”
“Actually,
we were quite lucky, because as we toured the Vatican , A
Swiss Guard tapped me on the shoulder, And
explained that the Pope likes to meet some of the visitors, And
if I’d be so kind as to step into his private room and wait, The
Pope would personally greet me.Sure enough, five minutes later, the Pope walked through the door and shook my hand! I knelt down and he spoke a few words to me.”
“Oh, really! What’d he say ?”
He said: “Where’d you get the shitty
Hairdo? (don’t read this GM)

Yeah Pedro Barca were a big good but Bayern were a lot crap. Spuds would have looked good against Bayern they were a joke.
Chelsea could beat Barca (not that I want that cos they are ours in the final) but all you need is a solid defence and a good, quick attack. Barca have rubbish defenders
April 9, 2009 at 10:20
Bassem, what’s she hiding under that baggy jumper?
April 9, 2009 at 10:20
Sorry Pedro, I was just concerned that if you strayed from the path a fascist riteousness at the weekend I wouldn’t be here to help you see the error of your ways.

Cherie Blair is touring the countryside in a chauffeur-driven car.
Suddenly, a cow jumps out into the road, they hit it full on and the car comes to a stop.
Cherie, in her usual charming manner, says to the chauffeur:
‘You get out and check – you were driving. ‘
The chauffeur gets out, checks and reports that the animal is dead.
‘You were driving; go and tell the farmer, ‘ says Cherie.
Five hours later, the chauffeur returns totally plastered, hair ruffled with a big grin on his face.
0A
‘My god, what happened to you? ‘asks Cherie.
The chauffeur replies: ‘ When I got there, the farmer opened his best bottle of malt whisky, the wife gave me a slap-up meal and the daughter made love to me. ‘
‘What on earth did you say? ‘asks Cherie.
‘ I knocked on the door, and when it was answered, I said to them: ‘ I’m Cherie Blair’s chauffeur and I’ve just killed the cow.’

April 9, 2009 at 10:25
It’s Melody Steve. Don’t let the composition of the lighting fool you.

Found this on the net for anyone going to the FA Cup semi next weekend.
Thousands of football fans heading for next week’s FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley face travel chaos because of strike action by British Transport Police civilian support staff.
The staff will walk out from 7pm on Friday April 17 until 7am on Monday April 20 in a pay row.
The strike will affect supporters travelling to the Chelsea-Arsenal semi-final at Wembley on Saturday April 18 and to the Manchester United-Everton game the following day.
April 9, 2009 at 10:32
I really like this melody

They think it’s all over.
It is now.
Steve has his hat-trick
April 9, 2009 at 10:43
Rosicky isn’t playing tonight according to Sky Sports website
April 9, 2009 at 10:43
Arsenal have been made 4th favourites behind …… Barca, Chelsea and Man U to win the champions league….
April 9, 2009 at 10:43
steve is that melinda again
April 9, 2009 at 10:45
In the invincibles year Arsenal were favourites to win the CL & blew it like Barca Chelski manure liverwurst & porthole
April 9, 2009 at 10:45
…..this year Hat trick
April 9, 2009 at 10:47
I hear the FA have now tol dcesc to give his versions of what happened – HE EITHER SPAT AT HIM OR DIDNT YOU STUPID ANTI ARSENAL CUNTS. THINK ABOUT IT.
April 9, 2009 at 10:53
i hate to dampen the mood but i dnt think this arsenal team is gud enough yet to win the champions league. They’v failed to beat roma & villareal convincingly…the team which i’m tipping is barcelona.i’d love arsenal to win it but this team hasn’t totally clicked yet in europe i think they need a bit more experience yet & the midfield is too young…senna gave a masterclass in the 1st half how to control the midfield & teams like chelsea & barca hav got players like essien & xavi who can hold their own against anyone.
April 9, 2009 at 10:56
Could we go to Anfield on a and win 3-1? and from a goal down…..
April 9, 2009 at 10:57
KM
Set your course for Roma, coz all roads lead to there for Arsenal fans
Trust!!!!
April 9, 2009 at 10:58
KM, Liverpool have got to finals before barely scrapping a win along the way…
It’s not about being convincing in the champions league, it’s about grinding out a result.
Bayern we dire yesterday… and I think it is very rare the prettiest team wins the competition…
ManU are probably favourites now, but I’d fancy the Chav’s to knock out Barca. Against a proper defence and a well drilled team, how good would Barca be?
We could be in with a shout as well… on our day, we can beat anyone… and I’d certainly fancy us to despatch United. Then it’s all to play for… a one off game against the Chav’s or Barca…
April 9, 2009 at 10:58
Yep, i couldn’t be bothered to continue to argue the toss with people on certain ‘players’ who just because they’ve ‘improved’ from being fucking shit to just plain shit becuase they’ve had a couple of ok games that they are all of a sudden Franz fucking Beckenbauer……
April 9, 2009 at 10:59
“Dampen the mood” you’ve just killed it!!!
Plus you contradicted yourself saying Arsenal failed to beat Roma convincingly but tip Chelsea who lost to Roma and lost badly.
The Arsenal will beat Barcelona in a one-off game
April 9, 2009 at 10:59
It certainly is GG9.
KM, The weakest team we had in years got to the final and were minutes from beating Barca despite playing the whole game with 10 men. Liverfool won it with a team that finished 5th in the league.
Like any cup competition, it’s as much about luck as anything.
The Arsenal team of 02 and 04 were the best in the world at that time in my opinion and never got closer than the current side.
April 9, 2009 at 11:00
I hear ya Dennis, I hear ya!
April 9, 2009 at 11:00
Pedro, are you my love child??? I did shag some munters back in the day.
You and I agree on most topics.
April 9, 2009 at 11:01
God! I’m still pissed!!
April 9, 2009 at 11:01
Steve, 9 men, I don’t count cole
April 9, 2009 at 11:03
Steve – It would depend on whether Pedro is just plain ugly or shit ugly as to whether he might be your love child
April 9, 2009 at 11:03
Jay, we won 3-1 and 6-3 at Anfield in the space of a couple of weeks.
April 9, 2009 at 11:05
ddm, surprisingly I do produce attractive kids for some reason…..actually how do you get your hands on those paternity test things?
April 9, 2009 at 11:07
Steve – Is your milkman a good looking fella
April 9, 2009 at 11:09
i’d know if it was him. My kids would have curly hair if you get my drift
April 9, 2009 at 11:09
dont think man u are favourites at all. the bookies are now not expecting them to get past Porto. Barca are favourites, followed by Chelsea.
April 9, 2009 at 11:09
*Drift.
April 9, 2009 at 11:10
Steve Liverpool werent as good as they are now. They had robbie fowler up front at the time lol They are a different side, a much better team now.
April 9, 2009 at 11:11
I got you covered Steve with the typo, and I don’t have curly hair, it’s more wavy!
April 9, 2009 at 11:12
Jay
A much better team, that will win nothing.
April 9, 2009 at 11:12
Nor were we, we had Aliadiere and Baptista!
April 9, 2009 at 11:13
irish. I cant find that story about Rosicky not playing tonight on sky. can you provide the link?
April 9, 2009 at 11:13
So what if we didn’t beat roma and villareal.Chelsea got thrashed at roma and united could only manage a draw against villareal both home and away. Some fans expect arsenal to thrash every team we face.1-1 away at villareal is a good result. It could have been better but still by no means is it bad
April 9, 2009 at 11:13
Has anyone seen Big Raddy lately
April 9, 2009 at 11:13
Ali-o-dear!
April 9, 2009 at 11:15
Fair pont Geoff – God Baptista was shite – I was talking some random italian in Rome and they think he is quality – I laughed so hard the pizza nearly came back up!
April 9, 2009 at 11:15
April 9, 2009 at 11:15
Cheers Geoff, shit man it’s good to have you back.
April 9, 2009 at 11:16
gazzap – its only a line at the end of one about Adebayor give me a minute and I’ll find it
April 9, 2009 at 11:16
Eduardo is a great player KM. I wouldn’t replace him with Villa or anyone else.
April 9, 2009 at 11:17
here you go Gazzap – at the very end

Is Wenger doing a press conference today?
April 9, 2009 at 11:20
Will Rosicky ever play again?!?!
April 9, 2009 at 11:21
Yes Oirish, apparantly he is expected to put out an appeal to find the internet lunatic sending out images of his cum face.
April 9, 2009 at 11:21
Thanks Steve, it’s good to be back.
So as you don’t think we need a proper defensive midfielder anymore as the one we have is so fucking good, what should we spend our money on in the summer?
April 9, 2009 at 11:22
In a way its the right decision.Should not take any more risks with tomas.Anyway he won’t be able to contribute this season. So might as well save him for the next season
April 9, 2009 at 11:23
Luke freeman has signed his first pro contract at the Arsenal – he is meant to be the next big thing. Very very young of course – One to look for in the next few years.
April 9, 2009 at 11:25
Don’t expect me to take the bait there Geoff.
We need a holding midfielder and a Hangerland and we’ll be right up there if everyone else stays imo.
April 9, 2009 at 11:25
I have a question….whilst injured does a player keep getting his full wages ala Tomas?
April 9, 2009 at 11:25
I remember they said that about Pennant and Jeffers.
April 9, 2009 at 11:26
Not the impression I got yesterday Steve. Do all your new Song loving friends know you want a defensive midfielder???
April 9, 2009 at 11:26
Iceman – as far as i know – They get paid full cash prizes. All that £££!!!!
April 9, 2009 at 11:26
Geoff
The fox in the box was arguably the worst signing in recent times.
April 9, 2009 at 11:27
If I had a pound for every “next big thing” Jay2oh i’d only be a couple of million behind Geoff.
April 9, 2009 at 11:27
ha ha ha Steve – I’ll just blame you, I’m sweet and innocent he’d never believe it was me
April 9, 2009 at 11:28
Don’t start, I just said he played alright in the second half. He definitely warranted more than 5.5.
Pedro said it how he saw it, which is the way it should be.
April 9, 2009 at 11:29
But it was Wenger that signed him wasn’t it!
April 9, 2009 at 11:29
The next big thing zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……
April 9, 2009 at 11:29
I thought 5.5 was generous.
April 9, 2009 at 11:29
Yeah Steve you are right, until they perform its all just pointless…
April 9, 2009 at 11:30
Yes iceman, they are on full salary unless it’s written into their contract that it’s pay as you play, ala Saha at Everton.
April 9, 2009 at 11:30
Geoff, Great Post!! I have the same feeling that we’ll meet Barca in the Final. Amazing game last night, 1-0 up and then the Chavs go and put on a display like that!!! Brilliant! I hope Arsene was watching as the way to play Liverpol seems to be man marking Gerrard, if you cut off the blood line the team dies. Apparently, good old Brucie reckons Wigan aint ready to lie down, but he may yet be surpised. Is Eduardo fit to play on Saturday?
April 9, 2009 at 11:30
You would Geoff.
Racist.
April 9, 2009 at 11:31
Gota love francis Jeffers.
Up there with the Arsene wengers worst ever signing.
April 9, 2009 at 11:31
Does Geoff earn as much as ade
April 9, 2009 at 11:32
PS the picture of yesterday you took looked like snow?? Am I mistaken?
April 9, 2009 at 11:34
Cheers Jay2…
That’s cold….all that money for sitting home for a year….
April 9, 2009 at 11:35
I wouldn’t get out of bed for what he earns Gnarley.
Skandi, you’re right about Gerrard.
Steve, thanks!
April 9, 2009 at 11:36
Skandi it was hail compacted, it was like driving on snow, I had to put my beer down to take that picture and almost lost control!
April 9, 2009 at 11:39
I’m going for a haircut.
April 9, 2009 at 11:41
Back, crack ‘n’ sack Geoff??
April 9, 2009 at 11:44

April 9, 2009 at 11:49
franchise you getting high on your own supply or someone else’s
April 9, 2009 at 11:49
agree with u steve.we need hengeland & a beast of a DM i wouldnt mind us making a cheeky for flamster:)although many fans slate flam & hleb i thought they were both amazing last year.if only wenger had given the captaincy to flamini maybe he wud have stayed but again its a ‘maybe’.theres not many DMs like flamini/essien who are like duracell bunnies.i dnt think serie A suits flamini as he is more suited to the premership.i was a big fan of hleb i rated him over ronaldo he had this amazing ability to beat a mean & dribble.i think nasri was brought in to replace hleb but hes gona take sum time to bed in. How many grovers wud welcome bak hleb & flamini if they were willing to return:)?
April 9, 2009 at 11:50
ha ha Franchise is gone crazy
April 9, 2009 at 11:51
im le-grove’s official tester. some good shit arrived today
April 9, 2009 at 11:51
irish didn’t watch it all was flicking between the two games and the apprentice but they looked useless across the pitch
April 9, 2009 at 11:51
I would have Flamini – Not hleb. Arsh, nasri, wacott improving. Flamini is so good its untrue.
April 9, 2009 at 11:51
who noticed my subtle hat-trick
April 9, 2009 at 11:51
franchise you did notice yesterday i thought it passed you by
April 9, 2009 at 11:52
I don’t get why we should have “given the captaincy to Flamini to make him stay” then what give it to Cesc this summer to “make him stay” they’ll stay if they want to play for the club
April 9, 2009 at 11:54
nick nothing passes me by. only time and usain bolt
April 9, 2009 at 11:54
Nick – I watched the Liverpool, Chelsea game but then saw half hour highlights of the Barca vs Bayern game and they were pitiful, got near Barca’s goal twice according to the highlights and one seemed to be put in out of charity to make them feel better
April 9, 2009 at 11:54
arsen sees the captaincy as bribe im sure he does whinge and you become captain don’t think it should work like that. Has flame-mini got in the ac team yet?
April 9, 2009 at 11:55
but there is only so many players he can bribe it with, he can’t change it every year
April 9, 2009 at 11:56
they are not doing well in Germany either i hear
April 9, 2009 at 11:57
In all fairness to Bayern they were against Barca with only 1 regular defender.
April 9, 2009 at 11:57
the captain should be a leader not a moaner
April 9, 2009 at 11:57
Nick – I will fly over to London, find you and bitch slap you. You know what I meant smarty pants
April 9, 2009 at 11:58
And they are 4th in Germany.
April 9, 2009 at 11:58
I read this blog more or less every publication, and I am disappointed (perhaps a little with myself) that the first time i have piped up to post something it is negative.
Telling a younger generation they are not welcome because they possess youthful optimism and faith in their heroes?
Mocking and patronising them, further alienating them and leading them to take what you say less seriously (and remember, like it not they are the future of Arsenal’s support)? Surely you have your eye on some sort of legacy Le Grove?
And what about students that read your blog and regularly. Checking it out today only to be met with snide comments about people still in education?
If it was up to me, you’d change that banner of yours…
LE GROVE
a blog where you can have an opinion, and then be told to it and you are not welcome.
April 9, 2009 at 11:59
they were still rubbish though – van bommel tried plan b, try and maim Messi, didn’t work
April 9, 2009 at 12:00
Josh, everyone starts out negative. Dont worry about that.
But your right. I am a student and i am distraught that Geoff hates me. I mean how will i go on? I cant live without arsenal or Le grve but i may be forced to leave now. Oh gosh, whatever will i do?
April 9, 2009 at 12:01
It’s called having a sense of humour, you robot!
April 9, 2009 at 12:01
April 9, 2009 at 12:01
Josh – you are lumping yourself in with the annoying ones. He wasn’t talking about them in general, just the irritating ones.
April 9, 2009 at 12:01
bitch slap i like it,whens the next flight
josh geoff’s getting his haircut but should be back in a hour or so
April 9, 2009 at 12:01
Josh, I think you’ve missed the point.
If you’ve read through the comments before you’ll be aware that there are many student types who come on here… the ones we don’t like are the AKB’s and the abusive ones… which happen to mostly come on during half term.
If you think that type of behaviour is acceptable… then we would kindly suggest you blog somewhere else.
If you like to blog in a respectful manner and enjoy the banter… join in the debate.
April 9, 2009 at 12:02
… oh, and if it makes you feel any better, Geoff hates everyone.
Apart from the Grovers
April 9, 2009 at 12:02
I think its nore the children, now the students. Im a student but dont have any kind of AKB-isms. Its probably the young teens because they are ALL pricks….right?
April 9, 2009 at 12:02
Not all of them Stu… we’ve got our fair share of underagers on here.
April 9, 2009 at 12:03
van bommels a dirty fecker at the best of times doubt he could catch messi anyway
April 9, 2009 at 12:05
You can be a variation of an AKB Josh, I am but can’t remember what it is now??!!!!!
April 9, 2009 at 12:06
Pedro are u trying to attract paedos……
‘Not all of the Stu… we’ve got our fair share of UNDERAGERS on here.’
hard on galore for some.
eeeeeeeeeeeeeew!!!!!
u are not welcome on here
April 9, 2009 at 12:06
he elbowed Messi into the face Nick and then he kicked the ball away right to Henry who scored
April 9, 2009 at 12:07
Speaking of Germany, i just caught the end of the Bundesliga highlights and Leverkusen have some nice players. Adler in goal, shite defenders but Rolfes, Barnette, Helmes and Keissling. Wouldnt mind any of them.
April 9, 2009 at 12:07
thats karma oirish
April 9, 2009 at 12:08
pedro mr.T looking for you SOMETHING ABOUT NUTTS
April 9, 2009 at 12:08
I think it’s a little peurile to suggest that all students are wankers (in the negative sense of the word). Stu is alright.
It should be all students, apart from stu. He is just a lazy fucker.
April 9, 2009 at 12:09
Franchise, says a lot about you that your mind went straight there.
April 9, 2009 at 12:09
indeed it is franchise, indeed it is
April 9, 2009 at 12:09
Cant argue with that Steve.
April 9, 2009 at 12:10
Gotta protect u Stu. Stretched rectums could be an embarassment and they fucking hurt
April 9, 2009 at 12:11
ha ha Stu you are “alright” I think that is a thumbs up in Steve’s eyes
April 9, 2009 at 12:11
Imagine doing a poo or a fart without any warnings
April 9, 2009 at 12:12
Off to the pub. Adios all.
April 9, 2009 at 12:12
franchise
April 9, 2009 at 12:12
later steve
April 9, 2009 at 12:13
had to do it
April 9, 2009 at 12:13
That’s a fucking glowing reference in my book Oirish.
April 9, 2009 at 12:14
lol Franchise, im always weary of those types. Think the wierdo living across from me is one of ‘them’.
April 9, 2009 at 12:14
that’s what I thought Steve – enjoy the pub
April 9, 2009 at 12:14
nick yah thats the look
imagine sumtin that could make ones eyes pop that wide
April 9, 2009 at 12:15
irishgunner in my opinion the way flamini played & his amazing drive showed he was captaincy material.he drove the team on & that quality is natural.even cesc doesnt have it like flamini. But which DM wud b on our wishlist?i dnt think barry is the answer.has any1 seen felipe melo/lorik cana play apart frm some youtube clip:)?This might sound unlikely but wot abt scott parker? industrious & gud tackler…all the gr8 DMs,essien & senna & mascherano, hargreaves are no no’s.are there any unknowns playing in france/spain/italy?
April 9, 2009 at 12:15
Yeah, that did sounds a bit rotten!
I like the way Josh has dropped his student bombshell about how we’re studentist… we’ve responded… but he’s not come back!
April 9, 2009 at 12:16
KM, i agree there. I wanted Flamini to be considered for the captaincy but twas not to be.
No to Barry, no to Parker. Yes to Rolfes
April 9, 2009 at 12:17
Pedro, drive by blogging.
April 9, 2009 at 12:17
KM – Well that’s fair enough. If Flamini had repeated last year then yeah he was a great worker and kept people going.
Apparently Arsenal are “looking at” some 22 year old French guy playing for a team at the bottom of Ligue 2!!!
April 9, 2009 at 12:18
I like how Steve thinks there can be a positive sense to being called a wanker!! I guess as a matter of fact, the vast majority of us are indeed wankers. nevertheless, calling someone a wanker will only really be taken negatively.
Rosicky is really in trouble with his legs. asking not to play for fear of injury? he is in a worse situation that Eduardo was.
April 9, 2009 at 12:18
Whats his name Irish? Cabaye?
April 9, 2009 at 12:19
Ancelotti is to be the new manager of Chelsea apparently – thought they’d go for Rijkaard?!! He could go to Milan or Man City??
April 9, 2009 at 12:21
Stu -Mathieu Coutadeur of Le Mans
April 9, 2009 at 12:21
I dont see the attraction of Rijkaard. Sure he won the CL and League with Barca but look at the players and money he had. And that was his first coaching job. Whats he even doing now?
April 9, 2009 at 12:22
IRISH, HE IS FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!!!!!
Well, thats is PES is anything to go by.
April 9, 2009 at 12:22
stu that name sounds familiar think we have been linked before their are a few Frenches weve been linked with since last year i reckon alonso or mbia will be the midfielders brought in
April 9, 2009 at 12:23
Fuck me Josh, if that disappoints you now, you may as well top yourself, you won’t like what you have got coming.
We’ve all been young mate, the trouble is when I was young, I had a bit of respect for the older ones, many young kids now think they know it all, smart arses if you like.
I don’t have a problem with students but when they start the abuse I get a little angry, because they do it from behind a computer, cowards.
The reason I say it’s kids is because it only happens at weekends and school holidays.
Some young people don’t always understand that older people were young once too, make the most of it Josh it won’t last.
And Stu, go and do 500 lines ‘Geoff does not hate kids’ unless they support Tottenham.
April 9, 2009 at 12:23
ha ha I’ll take your word for it Stu
I’m not convinced by Rijkaard either – he let the big names take over the dressing room
April 9, 2009 at 12:23
Im still hoping its Rolfes Nick. Seriously unlikely but i can always hope.
April 9, 2009 at 12:24
Cant Geoff, i lost my pencilcase.
April 9, 2009 at 12:25
rikard is just like moreniho spend shed load of doe, more like fantasy football then real management he would get the usual welcome by the press then chowed up and spat out.imo
April 9, 2009 at 12:26
stu
April 9, 2009 at 12:27
Just looking on Newsnow and loads of article headings about Fabianski saying he will show his worth, prove he should be no.1 etc etc etc and then there is one of his apparently saying that Almunia is the man. Now i dont believe any of them are real.
April 9, 2009 at 12:27
I don’t think Mourinho has done any better at Inter than Mancini – they are virtually the same team and playing the same way and he has also managed to lose Adriano!!
April 9, 2009 at 12:28
stu i really rate song and think its people with blinkers on putting him down and holding him back.it was on ssn that some one actually gave him 5.5 for Tuesdays game
April 9, 2009 at 12:29
i once offered stu details to use my Arsenal TV cos i wasnt using it and i paid bout 50 quid for it for a year he refused probably reckoned i was some online paedo with cider breath looking to seduce him.
being too nice in this modern world is dangerous ppl are always trying to work out the alterior motive although there might be none
April 9, 2009 at 12:29
irish could you be a sport and post the faces again ive forgot most of em…..thanks
April 9, 2009 at 12:30
not the cum faces
April 9, 2009 at 12:31
Irish, he is easily winning the league with basically Mancinis team but i hear he is as boring as fuck.
Nick, i browsed some other blogs….all clearly inferior to Le Grove. Look dont touch.
They were all giving Song motm, and slating other blogs that gave him a bad result.
April 9, 2009 at 12:31
franchise sounds like stu made a good call
April 9, 2009 at 12:32
nick shhhhhhhh!!!!!
April 9, 2009 at 12:32
April 9, 2009 at 12:32
April 9, 2009 at 12:32
Franchise, just admit it… you were grooming Stu…
April 9, 2009 at 12:33
Stu – Mancini was winning the league anyway, the Italian league isn’t hard to win anymore. He’s just doing what Mancini did.
April 9, 2009 at 12:33
Nick, that second comment was a little too much. Please dont do that.
Franchise, i remember that. It aint my tv or connection etc. I didnt think that at the time but now that you mention it……get away you wierdo!
April 9, 2009 at 12:33
who remembers the crazy day when we were being creative with emoticons? that was a laugh
I love Le-grove
April 9, 2009 at 12:33
Have I forgotten some faces??
April 9, 2009 at 12:34
sad bunch of grumbles the other blogs ive seen are shite get about 5 people ever. before i came on here used to read it, the banter is quality. some people are just unable to take a lot of it in
April 9, 2009 at 12:35
Stu ive got 2 tickets for the Villareal game i doubt u would be able to get a return flight?coach/train/hike to Ireland after the game especially if it gets to extra time and penalties
April 9, 2009 at 12:36
The only better articles on the net are the ones I write

April 9, 2009 at 12:37

April 9, 2009 at 12:37

April 9, 2009 at 12:38

Irish im just a crazy guy who does edgy!!!
April 9, 2009 at 12:39
irish
April 9, 2009 at 12:40
A – It was on SSN that Rosicky didn’t want to play as he’s afraid he’d suffer another set back, he’s probably not ready yet
April 9, 2009 at 12:40
to be hones i couldnt get some of the sarcasm on here when i was an early reader. Geoof has groomed me well. not that ‘groomed’ sickos
April 9, 2009 at 12:40
I bet Wengers cum face is him smiling and pumping his fists in the air. Much like when he celebrates a goal.
April 9, 2009 at 12:41
and edgy is not my dog
April 9, 2009 at 12:42
I dont even remember my first outing on here. Dont even know how i found it. Might have been through Wrightys blog. Around the time he was on holiday.
April 9, 2009 at 12:42
not the cat franchise
April 9, 2009 at 12:42
Stu – I put the picture up yesterday, give me a minute and I’ll find it
April 9, 2009 at 12:42
oh ok irish, cheers. still very annoying though, was really looking forward to seeing his return tonight! did ssn say anything about the return reserves game against spuds on tuesday?
April 9, 2009 at 12:43
nice one guys! helped clear that one up for me. I guess i just get a little nervy when i feel like I’m being ostracised by fellow gooners before i’ve even opened my mouth (i like to give people a chance to hate me for who I am, not what I am)
don’t worry grovers, the respect is there
April 9, 2009 at 12:43
A – it was only two lines on their website about Rosicky, no other info
April 9, 2009 at 12:43
A, the worst thing about that reserve team is that Randall is captain. The sooner he gets released the better. He is a right dirty cunt. Awful tackler, shite passer, cant shoot and to make it all worse has a right shit haircut!
April 9, 2009 at 12:44
i came in from arsenal news now, used to look out for it then started coming in direct as well as ANN then started getting involved now im addicted it gets me through the week.
Irish thanks for the faces
April 9, 2009 at 12:45
Rosicky needs to see a physcologist(sp).
April 9, 2009 at 12:45
Josh like most blogs, there is something of an initiation on here before you find your feet.
April 9, 2009 at 12:45
Good man Josh, that’s the spirit.
April 9, 2009 at 12:46
Josh u r too polite for ur age. Just let it out.
April 9, 2009 at 12:46
barcelona at home first leg against chelsea for the semi final lets hope a reapeat performance for barce and no injuries to thier front 6!!
April 9, 2009 at 12:46
Irish, it appears that someone was shot in my locality. How odd. Today FM saying it was gang associated.
April 9, 2009 at 12:47
Franchise, now you want Josh to let it out. You scummy fecker.
April 9, 2009 at 12:47
Stu – here you go, here’s Arsene’s “cum face”
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2008/12/19/article-1098791-02CC3542000005DC-928_306×503.jpg
April 9, 2009 at 12:47
its funny but i seem to have a profile of the regulars on here…. i can remember almost every thing ppl say
April 9, 2009 at 12:47
Nick, the Mirror gave him a 5 I think!
April 9, 2009 at 12:48
cheers irish
to be fair to him stu he can shoot and pass! he does have an absolutely horrific attitude though and is just generally a complete turd. He’ll be sold in the summer to a prem club i’d imagine, or maybe do a sidwell and go to a championship club on the way up first.
why isn’t wilshere in the team, he’s nowhere near the first team at the moment? i’d want ramsey to get games as well now he isn’t even making the bench half the time. I guess as he’s training with the first team rather than the reserves
April 9, 2009 at 12:48
Irish, the link failed. Maybe its a sign and i shouldnt look. Its not really something im overly bothered about seeing after all.
April 9, 2009 at 12:48
stu is it the lepricorns and the fairies again, there a real bad crowed been going on for years
April 9, 2009 at 12:48
Does anyone know any good bars/pub around the Emirates area that will be showing the Arsenal game tomorrow?
April 9, 2009 at 12:48
roflmao Stu u r too wise for ur age.
April 9, 2009 at 12:49
Stu – yeah just heard that. They are people killed in Dublin every other day but then its breaking news when its Limerick!!!
April 9, 2009 at 12:49
A, ok he can shoot and pass but wastes so much trying the hollywood pass or shooting from idiotic angles.
April 9, 2009 at 12:49
April 9, 2009 at 12:50
what are lepricorns Nick?
April 9, 2009 at 12:51
Wenger fears Gallas out for season, Almunia 2 weeks, Clichy 2 weeks!
AND WENGER IS A LYING CUNT YET AGAIN! He has now said Rosicky isn’t close to being fit! Well stop telling us he is then you fucking cunt Wenger!!!!!!!!!
April 9, 2009 at 12:51
Gallas out for season, Almunia out for 3 weeks, Clichy out for 2 weeks.
Fresh off skysports from AW’s press conference.
Disaster!
April 9, 2009 at 12:51
Irish, apparently it was at a pub. Seeing as there are 3 pubs around me it could be any of them. But i think i know wat one it is. Has that kind of reputation.
April 9, 2009 at 12:52
What the fuck happened to Clichy?
April 9, 2009 at 12:53
Out of those 3 Gallas is defo thebiggest miss. Gibbs can come in for the easier teams and hhhhhh….Silvestre in the CL. Fuck him anyway!
April 9, 2009 at 12:53
dr whiff i dont know any around the ground where they would show the game. it would have to be a pub using ‘illegal’ satellite feeds not sky
April 9, 2009 at 12:53
let’s kick AW out and get Zizou in as coach before the next crisis rolls about!!
I like the studentist thing. I’m an AW’ist?
April 9, 2009 at 12:53
Stu – fuck knows! But all of this could really fuck us!
April 9, 2009 at 12:53
GALLAS OUT FOR SEASON
CLICHY OUT 2 WEEKS
ALMUNIA OUT 3 WEEKS
TOMAS OUT FOR SEASON
WENGER PRESS CONFERENCE
FUCK SAKE
April 9, 2009 at 12:53
yeah very true stu. He has the passing, vision, and shooting technique, but his belief that he’s the man and has to do something amazing evverytime he gets the ball or lose it trying kills his footballing ability.
frimpong is a funny one for shooting from everywhere though, because he’s basically got no shooting technique! It would be the same as if sagna tried to shoot everytime he got into the opposition half!
April 9, 2009 at 12:54
Arsenal are playing Wigan on Saturday, not Friday and it’s not televised.
April 9, 2009 at 12:54
irish didn’t want to give there true identity out so changed it a bit there bad mofo’s dont want them to think im talking about them
April 9, 2009 at 12:54
there are a few around but the info is kept exclusive like Fight Club
April 9, 2009 at 12:54
fuck sake why is clichy injured what is wrong with arsenal players
April 9, 2009 at 12:54
you know you wanna look Stu
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2008/12/19/article-1098791-02CC3542000005DC-928_306×503.jpg
April 9, 2009 at 12:55
I’d perefer Silvestre playing left back, we’re looking too young atm
April 9, 2009 at 12:55
oh fuck!!!!!
April 9, 2009 at 12:55
Mark Gooner loves his Caps. I meant Caps Lock not Glans Stu
April 9, 2009 at 12:56
they should say to tomas enoughs enough now your sitting at home getting paid for fuck all piss off year and half out what a waste
April 9, 2009 at 12:56
clichy could do with a break but we could do with him for Wednesday
April 9, 2009 at 12:56
typical Arsenal story. I blame Song for Gallas’ injury
April 9, 2009 at 12:57
Totally Franchise!
April 9, 2009 at 12:57
Geoff you know in South Africa they show every Arsenal game on Supersport. I cant understand that you guys are in England & they dont televise some of the matches. Weird!
April 9, 2009 at 12:57
lol Irish, i couldnt resst. That looks like he is trying too hard to squeeze one out after a curry!
MARK, ALMUNIA IS COVERED BY FABIANSKI AND TOMAS IS AS EXPECTED. DONT WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT THEM!
April 9, 2009 at 12:57
gibbs is good so no worries there dj played well when he came on by all accounts and fabs is fab, so not as bad as it could have been. the attacking players being injured would have hurt us more imo
April 9, 2009 at 12:58
or Sagna plays left back and EE right back
or JD right back Toure-Silvestre CBs and Sagna left back
April 9, 2009 at 12:58
Dr Whiff, I think there is some pub called the 7 pins or something like that who show it.
April 9, 2009 at 12:59
I have faith in Fabianski
I have faith in Djourou
But Gibbs in an FA Cup Semi and a CL quarter? Fuck me I’m not too sure. He’s a fantastic talent, and will be some player, but this is a big big ask.
As for Rosicky i didn’t expect him to come back this season anyway.
April 9, 2009 at 12:59
Lewdy its cos they are trying to get ppl to go to stadiums
April 9, 2009 at 12:59
It’s the 12 Pins in Finsbury Park Pedro
April 9, 2009 at 13:00
I don’t think anyone expected Rosicky back anyway despite Wenger saying it was 2 weeks or 10 weeks or whatever.
Gallas is the big one to be out, we’ll get by without Clichy and Almunia for the few weeks
April 9, 2009 at 13:00
Pedro Fight Club!!!!!!
April 9, 2009 at 13:00
yeah gibbs is good but clichys out for villarreal and chelsea and most likely liverpool we need clichys experience for these games alredy gallas is out.
April 9, 2009 at 13:00
Gallas is the only worrying aspect! I am more than confident of Fabianski and Gibbs doing their jobs well. I actually hope Wenger extends the chance to Fabianski to take the number 1 spot like he did for Almunia…..as in if he plays well then he remains in goal regardless of Almunia’s fitness.
The only downside is that all too often when things go wrong, they continue to go wrong. Just worrying really….
April 9, 2009 at 13:00
As long as Gibbs follows his man then we will be fine. Villareal are all about short passing and movement. No wingers really.
And chances are he will be up against Kalou in the FA cup. Not the hardest of jobs.
April 9, 2009 at 13:01
Kirby – I think Clichy’s defending leaves a hell of a lot to be desired. I dont see what his experience can offer more than Gibbs’ better defending. Clichy has far to often made mistakes lately. Even against Villarreal he was flying in on people fully comitted and getting left for dust!
April 9, 2009 at 13:02
chipo with silvestra and gibbs we will get by,gibbs looks unfazeable imo so dont think any occasion will be to much for him.looks like we are going to find out soon
April 9, 2009 at 13:03
Now we are going to be forced to field a ridiculously young side, against top class opposistionn. And anyone who says we are going to cope without clichy is lying. Clichy is crucial for our counter attacking.
April 9, 2009 at 13:06
I’m not bothered about Clichy, I think Gibbs is as good and has a better shot.
Pedro, the game is not on any channel, unless they have an illegal feed, and no matter how much you want it to be, it’s not on tomorrow.
April 9, 2009 at 13:06
Franchise maybe but I dont think England has problems in filling up stadiums. Theres always tons of people going to games.
April 9, 2009 at 13:06
Kevin, Clichy is really really fast….but thats about it. Gibbs is better on the ball, better going forward and although he is proably worse at defending ……i got nothing after that.
April 9, 2009 at 13:06
Let’s just hope nothing happens to Fabianski cos then it’s MANNONE LOL!
April 9, 2009 at 13:06
kevin your messing with franchises buzz think positive dude
April 9, 2009 at 13:07
taig but he has much more experience than gibbs he does make the odd mistakes but he is first choice and very qiuck at winning the ball of dangerous players gibbs has done well when he has come in but we are playing top sides now not cardiff and hull
April 9, 2009 at 13:07
quick#
April 9, 2009 at 13:08
All Italian matches are on tv and their stadiums are usually pretty empty. I dont know about Germany, but because their prices are low their stadiums are usually full. We have high prices and no matches on tv.
April 9, 2009 at 13:08
we should be ok with Gibbs IMO
April 9, 2009 at 13:10
my shrink said i should be positive
April 9, 2009 at 13:10
hatters
April 9, 2009 at 13:10
Stu how many times have we seen clichy speed up to the opposistions winger, untercept them, and then take on 4 or 5 of there team.
April 9, 2009 at 13:10
Geoff – Yep this Wigan game seem’s to be one of those that just isn’t on anywhere! Its not like you can even listen to it on the radio, % Live and Talk Sport rarely have Arsenal games and most of the time they offer the same game! Fucking idiots!
April 9, 2009 at 13:10
Sign Zizou as Pat Rice then! whatever that means.
April 9, 2009 at 13:12
i dnt think rosicky will b back until end may thats if he doesnt suffer another setback:)but wot r our options 4left wing nxt year? Our right wing is sorted theo & eboue (the nxt messi: ) We got traore comin bak frm loan, then arshavin, rosicky & nasri.nasri isnt a winger, hes a no.10.(cesc is xavi mk2 not a no.10)arshavin is our best no.10 but i r.think that he shud b given a run nxt year in front of cesc & behind the main striker.that leaves rosicky…he has shades of darren anderton a gud player 4spurs but rarely on the pitch.does this mean we keep with the options we have or invest in a left winger?
April 9, 2009 at 13:12
Kirby – What is this experience you talk of? The only place you need experience is from the leaders on the pitch that need to control their kids like Toure and Gallas. Clichy’s ‘experience’, whatever it is, is not going to be missed. If Gibbs is a better defender then he is a better defender!
April 9, 2009 at 13:12
clichy’s final ball is his major weakness
April 9, 2009 at 13:13
Seriously, Rosicky should be released! He is an eternally injury prone player!
April 9, 2009 at 13:14
I see your point Kevin but this isnt american football. Running 30yards with the ball before losing it isnt a good thing.
He always runs so far and then bottles it near their box. Thats pointless. Gibbs is also very fast tho.
April 9, 2009 at 13:14
Dnt worry guys Il be watching the game on Supersport & Il keep you updated on LeGrove every step of the way.
April 9, 2009 at 13:15
taig you should start a link you have access to all games, charge to watch……every little helps
April 9, 2009 at 13:16
taig guess what!! my acc were shit……SURPRISE
April 9, 2009 at 13:16
Franchise – Clichy rlies on his pace far too much. He lets defenders get behind him because he thinks he can catch them. More often than not he does but too often he doesn’t. Its installing too much of a relaxed attitude into his game and this is why we see him make some simple mistakes. I think Gibbs, knowing, the importance of the games will step up to the plate rather than wilt at the prospect of Champions League opponenets. His attacking play is a lot better as well isn’t it!
April 9, 2009 at 13:16
Lewdy, set up a web cam and help out all us grovers in need
April 9, 2009 at 13:16
*lewyd
April 9, 2009 at 13:17
Nick – Firstly, I dont even think we’ll have it. There are about 5 channels in the world showing it! Secondly…….well, I told you so!
April 9, 2009 at 13:18
Nick, you were destined to fail from the off. Just because you bet on spuds to win.
April 9, 2009 at 13:19
ALRIGHT MY BAD im still ashamed today it wont happen again
April 9, 2009 at 13:19
Gibbs final ball is very classy. Clichy struggles most times to get his crosses past the first man. Clichy is still the shit though
April 9, 2009 at 13:20
Stu Supersport has to buy the game either from Sky or ITV or someone in Britain. I cant believe they not showing the game there. Dont they even show it delayed?
April 9, 2009 at 13:21
franchise clichy is the man but gibbs could be better, he just seems so cool to me you would think he plays week in week out he will do us proud me thinks
April 9, 2009 at 13:23
taig- experience as in he has experienced playing for arsenal many more times and has been part of our defence for 3 seasons not that he is really really experienced like gallas or toure but more than gibbs
id prefer to still have clichy fit, we will see!!
April 9, 2009 at 13:24
nick what is acc?
April 9, 2009 at 13:24
he does cross the ball alot better then clichy i agree!!
April 9, 2009 at 13:25
Lewyd24, the thing is they don’t show it because Wigan would have a half empty staduim, and also people who support teams like Barnet, Port Vale or Yeovil and also like to watch the premiership and support Arsenal, would not go to their local teams game which is usualy a 3 pm kick off.
April 9, 2009 at 13:27
And our match not being an important one in terms of the title probably has something to do with it too.
April 9, 2009 at 13:27
Clichy is better defensively
Gibbs is better going forward cos he is better at passing & crossing than Clichy. But I think Gibbs can do an overall solid job for us.
April 9, 2009 at 13:28
Gibbs will be fine as with Fab in goals and Djourou should be ok, just no more fecken injuries – really are our players made of glass or something?!
April 9, 2009 at 13:29
i think clichy needed a break neway:)gibbs will b fine.he has to learn & wot better way then the nxt few matches!gallas injury gives djouru a chance & if need be we hav silvestre(!)&song can also play cb.i think this is a big chance for fabianski to get wenger to take notice of him.take a cue frm Bob Marley ‘dnt worry….cos every lil thing gona b alright’:)
April 9, 2009 at 13:29
Kirby – Clichy has also played more games for Arsenal than Arshavin……it doesn’t mean too much in just a performace capacity. Anyway, yeah we’ll see. Im sure we both want whoever plays to do wel!!
April 9, 2009 at 13:29
franchise acc = football accumulator bet, dont do it their shite and addictive
April 9, 2009 at 13:30
Duke ok I get what you saying but wouldnt it be the same thing for say a WestBrom v Ars game yet they still televised that?
April 9, 2009 at 13:31
I like Gibbs, but Clichy is a better and more experienced player. We seen Gibbs play once every few month, how do you think he will handle Away at Wigan, crucial CL vs Villareal, Away to Liverpool, Chelsea at Wembley and Home vs Boro in the next 2-3 weeks that Clichy is out?
April 9, 2009 at 13:32
lewyd- it might be because the game was a shit 0-0 last season
April 9, 2009 at 13:33
I’m schoked G Sports are showing the game! They love the EPL!
April 9, 2009 at 13:33
why did we try to make gallas play on,sounds like it was obvious it was bad.
April 9, 2009 at 13:33
Schoked is German for shocked…….honest!
April 9, 2009 at 13:33
Lewyd, it’s exactly the same, exept West Brom wasen’t a 3 pm kick off. It’s a law that no game at 3 is televised.
April 9, 2009 at 13:35
taig
ya ist gute
April 9, 2009 at 13:35
Duke – I think he ‘would’ handle it fine! But I’m sure we’ll see Silvestre in there or something bizare like that! Why is it everyone seems to think Clichy has his magical ‘experience’ that makes him so much better than Gibbs? Whoever is better, is better…..simples!:-)
April 9, 2009 at 13:36
It seems we have a thick medical staff. Everyone is getting injured this season. Is there anyone that hasnt been injured yet? Denilson and Sagna i think. Is there anyone else?
April 9, 2009 at 13:36
taig- arshavins 28 and has played for zenit and russia how many pro games has gibbs played. im sure gibbs will do ok but would prefer clichy theres no argument who has more experience.
yeah i hope he does better then gael too
April 9, 2009 at 13:36
compare the left backs .com
April 9, 2009 at 13:37
Denilson a brick, he’s made out of steel. And sagna runs on duracel.
The rest of our team are glass.
April 9, 2009 at 13:37
stu- i bet the medical staff are to blame for rosiskys reacurring injury!!
April 9, 2009 at 13:37
Nick – great jingle, that!
April 9, 2009 at 13:37
Silvestre has the mst experience in our squad. Does that make him one of the best. Hmmmmm………………
April 9, 2009 at 13:37
Duke I watched the Man City game at 3 o’clock last week when I was in Spain, that rule only applies to watching it in the UK.
April 9, 2009 at 13:38
Duke . thats interesting. Didnt know that.
April 9, 2009 at 13:38
Sagna must be knackered tired
April 9, 2009 at 13:38
the medical staff do seem to make a hash of things, remember the last time gallas was out he was moaning about it as he felt he was misdiagnosed
April 9, 2009 at 13:38
I take it everyone has seen that Clichy is out for saturdays visit to Wigan….
April 9, 2009 at 13:38
Stu – exactly. Experience only gets you so far! Actual talent will get you further!
April 9, 2009 at 13:38
check out gibbs goal vs pompey reserves at about 1:18
April 9, 2009 at 13:39
April 9, 2009 at 13:39
Lewin leaving is with his inferior son who sent Gallas back on with ligament damage. Genius!
April 9, 2009 at 13:40
think rosickys doctor was a trainee to shipman
April 9, 2009 at 13:40
Gibbs is a great player but he has never faced a really strong opposition.I will definitely play silvestre against chelsea cos gibbs just wont be able to handle chelsea’s physical approach.Whoever plays against wigan will feature in both these matches.Djourou has to step up to the plate. He cannot get a better oppurtunity than this to prove his worth
April 9, 2009 at 13:40
cousin me thinks stu
April 9, 2009 at 13:41
Geoff, that is what i ment, in UK you can’t see the game, but if you go on liveonsat.com you can see that 5 channels in the world are showing it
Cheers
taig, whoever better plays : for me that is Clichy.
April 9, 2009 at 13:41
Lewin – Did nothing wrong, I’m sure. I bet trying to convince a pro footballer to stay off the pitch in a champs league quarter final isn’t so easy. And he wouldn’t have been able to make the injury worse. Its all about healing from now on rather than preventing it from getting worse.
April 9, 2009 at 13:41
yeah duke – the fa only sell rights to highlights in the uk for “normal” time games on a saturday to encourage attendances etc, which is why the games for which the live rights are sold to sky or setanta or whoever are moved to 1245 and 1730 sat, and 1400 and 1610 on sunday, or midweek.
in other countries whoever has the rights can show whatever they want live, which is why we’re able to get streams on the internet for 3 o clock kick offs on a sat most of the time
April 9, 2009 at 13:42
nick that’s a mean joke ha ha
April 9, 2009 at 13:42
Stu – ha ha, that was meant for you but apparently I think there is someone on here called Lewin!!
April 9, 2009 at 13:42
Djourou will step up – Im 100% of that. Silvestre is terrible but he will play a part certainly.
April 9, 2009 at 13:43
Watching that makes me want to play Wilshere as well Franchise!
April 9, 2009 at 13:44
Geoff – I was just about to say that!
April 9, 2009 at 13:44
randalls goal looked good as well, gibbs is going to be a great im sure of it
April 9, 2009 at 13:44
TAIG, dont wotty, i read it anyway.
And im sure your right but Gallas going back on was still thick.
April 9, 2009 at 13:45
i really hope you’re right jay – that is the biggest worry for me, i’d currently rather have song drop back to centre back than play djourou or silvestre.
clichy being out is a worry but hopefully gibbs will do ok and will actually improve us going forward. clichy hasn’t had the best season defensively anyways but it’s still a worry having gibbs there.
hopefully fabianski will take the chance with open arms and when almunia returns lukas’ performances have been so impressive he keeps his place and goes on from there.
April 9, 2009 at 13:46
What about Merida. His amazing pass created the goal for Randall. We havent seen a pass that good in the first team for ages.
April 9, 2009 at 13:46
Still nothing up on Arsenal.com – they are slow
April 9, 2009 at 13:46
does anyone know why wilshere isn’t in the reserve team today?
April 9, 2009 at 13:47
im saying that experience against big teams helps has gibbs played many big teams and important games no!
clichy has thats why i would prefer him to play but it dont matter now he is out so gibbs will play anyway
April 9, 2009 at 13:47
cesc stu, second goal on Saturday that was pretty good
April 9, 2009 at 13:47
Fabianskis performances on average have been better than Almunias imo.
April 9, 2009 at 13:48
It was very good Nick but it was over the top. Much harder to play the pass Merida played because its usually easier to cut out the ball on the deck.
April 9, 2009 at 13:48
yeah it was a wonder pass stu, hopefully merida will become more consistent and develop between now and the end of the season and after a pre season with the first team he’ll be a valuable member of the squad come the start of next year
April 9, 2009 at 13:49
A – because he’s on the bench, crazy, he gets academy games as well.
Stu I agree.
April 9, 2009 at 13:49
I don’t understand how people don’t rate JD, I think he is great, and shouldn’t have been dropped for Toure when he came back.
April 9, 2009 at 13:50
A – Wilshere had an ankle injury and is getting back to full fitness according to here
http://arsenalyouth.wordpress.com/2009/04/09/reserves-prepare-for-north-london-derby/
April 9, 2009 at 13:50
Kirby all players are obviously talented but its how they deal with the pressure and their attitude that makes the difference, think this will compensate for gibbs lack of “experience”
April 9, 2009 at 13:52
Knowing Arsene i am really sure he will go for silvestre instead of gibbs. Why on earth do we have to always suffer.I am pretty sure the average life span of arsenal fan will be a lot lesser than the rest
April 9, 2009 at 13:53
on what bench geoff?? first team on sat?
it’s because he hasn’t gone a game without making a mistake duke. The most fundamental attribute a defender must have is consistency, it doesn’t matter if a defender makes 5 wonder last ditch tackles a game, if he gives away a stupid penalty or misses the ball, lapse of concentration, or whatever just once in a game and it costs you then it’s not been a good performance.
All young defenders make those mistakes, but he needs to get rid of them asap because the one or two mistakes in a game against the big boys will be capitalised upon and could cost us bigtime, regardless of how good he looks the rest of the time
April 9, 2009 at 13:54
imo fabianski should be given the jersey nxt season.
he has that special something a pedigree in the mould of a young petr cech or a david seaman.
he is more likely to be a match winner than the waiter who although consistent is rather uninspiring.
fabianskis perforamnces this season have been excellent and he is well on course to becoming one of the best goalies in the world
April 9, 2009 at 13:55
yeah i hope gibbs does well nick just had my concerns fed up with these injurys!
April 9, 2009 at 13:55
i think Arsene would play Gibbs LB and Silvestre/Djourou CB on Saturday. On Wednesday if there are no injuries i bet it would be Djourou CB and Silvestre LB. he wouldnt risk both 3 CBs against Wigan cos any other injuries would mean Song would have to be considered as CB.
April 9, 2009 at 13:56
Losing half the defense is a blow especially when our two frenchmen are amongst the best in the world in their respective positions.
Still it gives a chance for our young guns to prove themselves!
April 9, 2009 at 13:57
Apart from his recent injury A he’s always on the bench for the first team, but as he never gets used, he’s being wasted because he’s not playing, same with Ramsey.
April 9, 2009 at 13:57
Silvestre or Djourou to pair Toure on Saturday i meant
April 9, 2009 at 14:02
so where are all these schoolboy AKBs then? I needed a chuckle. You just know they will be out in force when we win the CL and/or FA Cup giving it large with the ‘You doubted our great leader! You are not real Arsenal fans!’ They can all fuck off now, I’m getting that one in before it happens.
April 9, 2009 at 14:03
At least we have almost everyone back as far as attacking options are concerned
April 9, 2009 at 14:04
Arsenal vs Chelsea has been moved to 4pm on Sunday 10th of May.
Manchester United vs Arsenal has been moved to 12:45pm Saturday 16th May,
April 9, 2009 at 14:05
Arsenal vs Chelsea has been moved to 4pm on Sunday 10th of May.
Manchester United vs Arsenal has been moved to 12:45pm Saturday 16th May,don’t lie irish have they really??????????
April 9, 2009 at 14:07
Why have they been move then Irish? When were they originally due to be played?

April 9, 2009 at 14:10
Bayern are 300/1 to win the CL. But a euro on that!
April 9, 2009 at 14:10
irish, don’t you just know it all
(I am being nice by the by, because as i typed it, it looked like i am taking the piss)

Haha united are 516m in debt.
April 9, 2009 at 14:13
Nick and A – correct it is Sky
April 9, 2009 at 14:14
Morning All Gooners
good post Geoff …
Pedro mate i will have to send you the link concerning Romario later mate..it was down for the moment but i have asked my Brazilian friend Joao to find out whats happened and send it back to me promptly ..so im hopefull we’ll have it in a couple of days mate..im sorry .
lates incident was the acquittal of beating up a fan..on the Fluminese’s training grown ..the poor fan sick of the poor form of Fluminese, had thrown some*chickens*:) thats mad..onto the training ground..that set Romario off and he and a coach had runned up to the stands and beaten the man severly, the verdict was made public only last week Pedro..guess money talks..
and to the sadest news ive had in a long time Rosicky…whats happened folks ???out again ..?? im sorry to say i think we should let Rosicky go…and thats just sad…
tom
April 9, 2009 at 14:15
same thing irish! i meant for tv, but yeah they’re on setanta.
was really looking forward to seeing rosicky and wilshere in the reserves tonight, so annoying! just hope coquelin and sunu start, or it’s just merida and jet who’s worth watching! though any game against the spuds could be fun. Can you bet on the reserves?! surely gotta be worth a punt randall will lose it in a big game like this and see red
April 9, 2009 at 14:15
does anyone know if it is free to get in at barnet tonight for the reserve game?????????
April 9, 2009 at 14:16
what can you do with a player lke Rosicky? we have paid millions to get him fit (in wages and doctors fees). we cant sell him because who would want him and he would be virtually worthless. at the same time, we are paying him top wages to sit in the treatment room. I doubt he will ever be right.
April 9, 2009 at 14:17
ok they’re on sky, make your minds up! we’ve only got the wigan and pompey games that aren’t on tv – gonna be good not to have to find streams every day!
April 9, 2009 at 14:17
How much is Rosicky on?
April 9, 2009 at 14:18
A – that link above that I left about Wilshere, what I got from that is that Coquelin and Sunu are on the bench cos they had internationals lately, I think – you might want to check it out
April 9, 2009 at 14:18
Hi guys just one post from me as sadly I have things to do. I think its freaky that two players in our defence that I see as our weak link get injured as we approach the business time of the season. seeing Almunia missing a few games made me very happy even though I don’t like seeing anybody get injured and now Clichy too is injured. These two are the weakest links to our defence for me and they never get dropped by Wenger. Sadly Gallas got done too which to a lot of you is also a blessing but I see him as our main defender. At least we get to see if we have better players than Clichy and Almunia as I think we have or that they are missed and Arsen knows best. If Arsen knows best at least they will be back soon enough to put things right. The midfield and forwards have their own problems but there are many options there for us so it isn’t so vital. I hope Fab 2 and Gibbs or whoever he chooses have a storming couple of weeks that show all that they are better than Wengers mates.
April 9, 2009 at 14:19
Give Rosicky 1 more chance. If he sorts his problems out in the summer he can come back & be exceptional for us. If he has the same problems next season then he can fuck off.
April 9, 2009 at 14:19
you got a season ticket bbk? imagine it’ll cost a couple of quid
April 9, 2009 at 14:19
anyone know if its free to get in at barnet tonight someone please ?????????
April 9, 2009 at 14:21
yeah gazzap ..
well this may sound heartless..but thats the game ..we should get rid of him,and then there will be at least an opening in the team for another player and we wouldnt have to break the wage structure,he’s well paid..so we could be in for a very good replacement…i am sorry Rosicky..youre a top shelf player ..but the game has to go on..
tom
April 9, 2009 at 14:21
A-yeah i got season ticket but had to give it up this year someone took it on for this season for me so i could keep it
April 9, 2009 at 14:22
yeah i saw that irish, that’s why im worried about the line up! bad enough that wilshere and rosicky aren’t involved, but if sunu and coquelin aren’t in there it’s just even more annoying as they’re both very exciting and good to watch. When i saw the squad i was wondering where coquelin would fit in, though he was ahead of frimpong in the pecking order earlier in the season, but mainly at right back. Surely as sunu is the only forward he’ll play, supported by JET with randall right merida left and coquelin and frimpong central?? really don’t rate watt
April 9, 2009 at 14:22
i cannot believe how many injuries this club gets! some kind of chav conspiracy no doubt. it also regularly appears that players are off for much longer than their injury suggests-3 weeks for a slightly twisted ankle? i know as professional athletes they need to be molly-coddled but still, sprained ankles heal quicker than that.
fabianski and djourou (less so gibbs) now have the chance of their careers to establish themselves in the first team next season and to put themselves in the fans hearts. they could be heroes but unfortunately they could even more easily become villains. All three are very capable of high profile errors, as most young players are, and against the likes of chelsea or villareal, one can be all it takes
April 9, 2009 at 14:25
El Tel
if youre a gallas admirer ..you should actually thank youre lucky star….new contract coming up..whats gallas to do…well in my eyes ..nobody will pick him up when injured so my guess is he will be more than happy to sign an extension…
i dont like gallas to much but i hate when players get injured and i wish him all the best of course…he’s a very good player even though i dont think he fits in at Our Beloved Arsenal
tom
April 9, 2009 at 14:26
Fabianski is the least likely to fuck up. He hasnt been making many if any mistakes when in goal.. eratic yes but nothing worse than Almunia has done.
Gibbs is suspect at defending but his attacking ability should compensate for that.
And JD, well he impressed earlier in the season but recently has suggested he could fuck up at any moment. Almost fucked up twice against Villareal but thankfully got away with it.
April 9, 2009 at 14:27
mornin there Irish( or better even ,new nick Champers
hehhe
tom
April 9, 2009 at 14:29
agreed Stu mate
i suspect that JD is suffering from poor nerves….but he has a heart like a bull…
April 9, 2009 at 14:29
Apart form seemingly bwing a prick Gallas is a top defender. If he was a little better as a person and most of the squad didnt dislike him then maube he would have a future but alas that is not to be.
With him going in the summer we will be shit in defence and will HAVE to buy at least 2 defenders. Unless Senderos comes back to partner Toure. Even then we would have unreliable backups.
April 9, 2009 at 14:30
senderos
his worse then jd stu, he scares the shite out of me when he plays
April 9, 2009 at 14:30
Afternoon Tom
April 9, 2009 at 14:31
Phil is better than JD imo. Well i prefer him anyway.
April 9, 2009 at 14:31
Stu
a solution..lets buy Hangeland and give Senderos one more chance ..maybe …??
tom
April 9, 2009 at 14:32
Senderos was just in need of a run in the team. He needs to feel wanted imo, almost as tho he is needed in the team.
When he got a run he improved dramastically. Especially compared to when he just got 1 game here and there or just sub appearances.
April 9, 2009 at 14:33
all well with the Irish today i hope…and youre fellow Gooner is headed off to Dublin in tomorrow..Misses like stew..and me well beer and the music..besides the people are incredible..i love em
all Norwegian do…was that a little to much Irish..;) hehehe
tom
April 9, 2009 at 14:35
stu i did like him and always defended him even when he couldn’t
but liverfool killed him for me i would like him to come back and be the player i think he could be but i doubt it very much
April 9, 2009 at 14:35
Coincidence or not- decide for yourself :
We have won nothing since Gallas arrived at the club.
Our last trophy came when enderos was a regular in defence and we got to the CL final with him there too only to lose when he was dropped.
April 9, 2009 at 14:35
Stu, Senderos needs a talent transplant. Cumbersome fucker. I literally shat myself whenever he went near the ball, it’s embarrassing when your ST is next to a bird.
April 9, 2009 at 14:35
Who doesn’t like the Irish Tom?
Nick if you make a smart comment over that I will double bitch slap you
April 9, 2009 at 14:36
*Senderos
April 9, 2009 at 14:36
April 9, 2009 at 14:37
is senderos getting much football anyway?
I think taking him back would be a backward step.
April 9, 2009 at 14:38
is flamini playing yet?
April 9, 2009 at 14:38
Dont know Freduardo. Heard he has been getting games and scored the other day.
April 9, 2009 at 14:38
own goal was it !!!!
April 9, 2009 at 14:38
we have won nothing since I last bought a Gunners shirt! The three I have has won trophies (i.e. the ones since 2001). I’m thinking should I buy the arsenal shirt now?
April 9, 2009 at 14:39
Flamini will be shit with them until the final year of his contract. He will become a starter, tell the club he wants to stay but fuck off in the summer to Madrid or someone offering money.
April 9, 2009 at 14:40
Don’t think Senderos and Flamini play much for AC Milan and Flamini should be with Gattuso out for so long
April 9, 2009 at 14:40
Dammit Vertino, buy a fucking shirt so!
April 9, 2009 at 14:40
vertino no dont do it
April 9, 2009 at 14:40
Vertino noooooooooooooooooooooooooo
April 9, 2009 at 14:41
We havent won a trophy since i met my Girlfried exactly 3 years ago. We actually lost the CL that year
April 9, 2009 at 14:41
lol at Flamini. He was supposidly a Gattuso replacement bt when Gattuso got injured Milan brought Beckham in. Hahahahah twat!
April 9, 2009 at 14:41
Vertino – buy a shirt today please
April 9, 2009 at 14:41
stu that sounds like the little prick
April 9, 2009 at 14:41
freduardo mate…Senderos playing off and on..so he hasnt managed to be a regurlar…plays due to injuries.. same with that money grabbing son of a b… flam something…
and thx nick for not using my opening for a oneliner…:)
tom
April 9, 2009 at 14:42
Franchise – dump your girlfriend – common its for the team
April 9, 2009 at 14:42
thing is if you let Ros go you just know it would only open a place up in the team for a youth player like Traore or Wilshere. OK thats better than not having anyone, but I just dont see wenger getting rid of Ros and then going out and getting say Ribery in return. TBH, I think I would rather take a risk on one more year with Ros. Look at Pires. some of his best years have been in spain. its not necessarily all over for Ros but if we do get rid of him in the summer, I will totally understand wengers reasons for doing so.
April 9, 2009 at 14:42
Franchise…what are u waitin for mate…you know what to do
hehehe
tom
April 9, 2009 at 14:42
hahaa if i have to buy it it will have to be before the chelsea game..
LOL franchise
April 9, 2009 at 14:43
your opening safe with me its franchise you gotta watch
Vertino misread buy it now
April 9, 2009 at 14:43
haha yeah take one for the team like they do on soccer am

Senderos needs to confront his worse fear. the only problem is if Wenger arranges a meet he could be charged with tapping up.
April 9, 2009 at 14:44
tom
April 9, 2009 at 14:45
Franchise, whats Senderos worst fear?
April 9, 2009 at 14:46

April 9, 2009 at 14:47
irish, could you and your friend the internet check something out for us?
If not whatever you can provide us.
How many games has Milan played this season, and how many times have Flamini and Sanderos players, started and subs and minutes. The whole package.
April 9, 2009 at 14:47
sagna seemed to me to badly need a rest the last night. I think this is why he fell over so many times, fatigue. It would be good if he could be rested against wigan.
April 9, 2009 at 14:47
Afternoon all.
Anyone who thinks Senderos should be brought back needs corrective lenses. He was and still is by all accounts a disaster waiting to happen.
Djourou will cover Gallas reasonably well. Infact this may bring him on even more. No Gallas in the team may make Toure even stronger.
We need a settled midfield, and to get more out of Theo and Nasri on the wings.
Were going in the right direction, but still have not reached even 4th gear. Chelsea found 5th, possibly 6th last night.
April 9, 2009 at 14:47
hahaha ahahhaa irish..well i have never bought them..they are gifts from my mum n sis. I’m starting work soon now hopefuly so I’ll keep the idea in mind

For those of you who missed it, see Pedro’s post from 09:30. We finally know what he looks like…
April 9, 2009 at 14:49
u know, Senderos and Djourou actually started a game together. We won that game 7-0..Clean Sheet, so they might not be as bad as made out..?
April 9, 2009 at 14:49

April 9, 2009 at 14:52

April 9, 2009 at 14:55
Vertino, and we put in an amazing defensive performance against Sevilla with those 2 in defence, Fabianski in goal and Senderos as captain. Should have pushed on from there but Wenger has his favourites and Phil was duly loaned out.
April 9, 2009 at 14:55
he’s actually played for milan? you mean he played instead of gattuso?
April 9, 2009 at 14:56
Irish, i bet most of those were at right back too.
April 9, 2009 at 14:56

the biggest reason for the improvement in our defensive record has been down to better protection from midfield. Yes Gallas did definitely improve and Toure is now improving too, but if you expose ANY defence enough it will concede goals. the midfield is key to a defence. song and den have really helped us in that department.
April 9, 2009 at 14:59
Raygooner if u r out there we need some stats.
April 9, 2009 at 14:59
oh okay sorry, stu. I’m still a bit miffed by Flam’s departure. He only had one good season before he got too big headed
April 9, 2009 at 15:00
im gonna have to send a smoke signal
April 9, 2009 at 15:00
same could be said of ‘I won’t shoot, even though I can because I’m unselfish’ Hleb
April 9, 2009 at 15:00
right on vertino
April 9, 2009 at 15:01
Its the same with Adebayor Vertino. The difference is that the club gave in to his demand and wouldnt cave with Flamini.

Irish well done
April 9, 2009 at 15:03
stu thought you said he scored!!
April 9, 2009 at 15:03
That makes good reading on Senderos. He hasnt played but when he has he hasnt committed many fouls.
April 9, 2009 at 15:04
irish your da man
April 9, 2009 at 15:04
According to Arse.com Gallas is out for the rest of the season…. Wenger has said ALmunia is out for 3 weeks… so that really means 5 weeks, clichy is out for 2 weeks with a back problem so that means a month and Rosicky who was supposed to be staring for the reserves tonight has apparently not managed to shake of whatever the hell injury he has contracted now….
April 9, 2009 at 15:04
Nick, someone on here said he did. Dont know so….
April 9, 2009 at 15:05
nick he kinda scored the other day from a corner but his header deflected off ronaldinho on the way in so i think he was accredited with it
April 9, 2009 at 15:05
irish what about shaggy helb any stats on the brick layers son
April 9, 2009 at 15:06

April 9, 2009 at 15:06
Bundesliga highlights on Setanta for anyone who cares.
April 9, 2009 at 15:06
with adebayor, atleast he is slightly unique in what he offers. who is the next striker who can make the same impact (with height, strength etc) as him..
I think we have replaced hleb with arshavin and/or nasri. Flamini will be eventually replaced by denilson or song. these guys still have time to peak.
April 9, 2009 at 15:07
Agree Gazzap.
Both Song and Dennilson have improved. I was heartened to see the way Song was bursting to cover back during the Villareal game.
His attitude has improved greatly. Earlier in the season, he came across as not giving a monkies. Songs improvement in performance & attitude is mirrored by the team.
I think Song has a big future. Not as good as Essien, but maybe someday.
April 9, 2009 at 15:07
Irish, something you need to tell us?
April 9, 2009 at 15:07
Rosicky is a legend he was out for the season before the season.

April 9, 2009 at 15:13
when players are properly injured i thought the insurance company pays the wages?
April 9, 2009 at 15:14
A, who is our insurance company?
April 9, 2009 at 15:14
yeah Hleb still hasn’t got over his fear of shooting it seems
April 9, 2009 at 15:14
can you imagine how much the arsenal insurance bill is then, maybe that’s why we have so many injuries were fiddling the insurance subsidising the wages
April 9, 2009 at 15:14
Stu
Who is this Rolfes fella you have been raving about,
and who does he play for?
April 9, 2009 at 15:14
irish, thanks a million, well done, so really Flamini hasn’t done AS bad as we all think, played about 50% of their games right? Sanderos was injured alot so that explains all, and Hleb is just funny, dosen’t get a shout in ever
April 9, 2009 at 15:14
and properly injured?
April 9, 2009 at 15:15
HUGE HOWLER by Lehmann.
April 9, 2009 at 15:15
Is Nasri pretty much our replacement for Hleb?? I’ll check his stats
April 9, 2009 at 15:15
hahah Wenger and isurance scam
April 9, 2009 at 15:15
A its if the injuries sustained are long termish. there would be a minimum time duration and i doubt if they would pay the wages in full
April 9, 2009 at 15:16
im well happy we got rid of shaggy, his mum never finished my front wall either, bloody builders
April 9, 2009 at 15:16
Reggie, he is Leverkusens DM, their captain and is a starter for Germany. Tall, left footed and efficient. Got a assist last weekend in a 2-0 win.
April 9, 2009 at 15:17
u were stupid nick to hire her
April 9, 2009 at 15:17
Flamini should have played more though with Gattuso out
April 9, 2009 at 15:17
irish, nasri is going to not hleb’s replacement but pires’ replacement
April 9, 2009 at 15:18
Stu
cheers mate!
April 9, 2009 at 15:18
stu, rofles always signs for everton in footie manager…

April 9, 2009 at 15:21
franchise you said she was good
April 9, 2009 at 15:22
Irish
Can you give me my stats next please?
April 9, 2009 at 15:22
yeah i’d imagine we pay a bit of his wages still, but i’m pretty sure for long term injuries like these we have insurance, and doesn’t the pfa contribute a bit as well?
people are taking the rosicky quotes out of context a bit.
wenger was asked about vp and eduardo being fit for this saturday and he said they’ll have tests tomorrow, then they asked what news about rosicky and he said he’s not close. noone ever thought he was close to the first team.
arse.com says rosicky isn’t playing for the reserves tonight because he picked up a slight groin strain. It’s basically the same as eduardo, not to do with the original injury, and just getting niggles now coming back not connected with the actual long term injury
April 9, 2009 at 15:22
Those stats have to be better than Pleb’s.
April 9, 2009 at 15:22
Vertino, nothing i can do about that.
April 9, 2009 at 15:22
those nasri stats look tasty
April 9, 2009 at 15:22
Franchise – Ambrosini has started 22, so has Flamini but Flamini has 3 more subs appearnces
April 9, 2009 at 15:22
yeah nick with her baking
April 9, 2009 at 15:22
nasri pisses all over helb then, didn’t need the stats to know that. Great work irish
April 9, 2009 at 15:24

April 9, 2009 at 15:24
Dzeko is on 32 in 41 this season. And hes only 22. We should buy him.
April 9, 2009 at 15:25
Nick – they are on for most leagues and teams on the espn website, I checked them against one or two others and they seem accurate
April 9, 2009 at 15:25
Spot on irish !!
April 9, 2009 at 15:25
stu we are supposedly tracking him
April 9, 2009 at 15:25
Irish they dont normally play together ambrosini and flamini. seedorf is an ever present in the midfield, with either flam or ambrosini and pirlo. emerson also but he’s partly featured this season due to injury and old age
April 9, 2009 at 15:25
I mean 33.
April 9, 2009 at 15:27
irish i didn’t doubt that, you have my complete trust, apart from the wenger thing
April 9, 2009 at 15:27
I know Nick, but we are usually linked with everyone.
April 9, 2009 at 15:28
its the bundesliga stu – there are a few ahead of him and even dzeko’s strike partner has scored more than him this season. he’s level with claudio pizarro in the goalscoring and has played more games! he could be a good player, but is being massively over hyped
April 9, 2009 at 15:28
I know yeah Franchise – I’d actually forgotten about Ambrosini altogether
April 9, 2009 at 15:29
A, 33 in 41 games is not a bad record tho. And his strike partner is only on more league goals i think.
April 9, 2009 at 15:29
just facking look at the diff between nasri and pleb…
April 9, 2009 at 15:29
I can’t help the Wenger thing Nick – the man oozes sex appeal
April 9, 2009 at 15:30
Dzeko is a very hot talent. If we were smart we would get him but at who’s expense. I know most of ur answers. Ade haters
April 9, 2009 at 15:30
pizzaro from the scum?
April 9, 2009 at 15:31
How do 2 strike partners have 33 and 34 goals in 41 games, that is crazy no?
April 9, 2009 at 15:31
So Franchise, are you saying you would pick Ade?
April 9, 2009 at 15:32
In all comps Duke.
April 9, 2009 at 15:32
STu where has he scored the other 17
April 9, 2009 at 15:32
you including international goals there stu you mean?
yeah its a decent record, but the bundesliga isn’t a hard league to score goals in, and he’s been very over-hyped as he isn’t even the top scorer in that having got 15 in 24, whilst pizarro has got 15 in 19, and even voronin isn’t far off with 11 in 22!
not heard any hype about ibisevic but he’s got 18 in 17 in the league before his injury, and he’s 24 so far from old. dzeko’s strike partner grafite has got 20 in 17!! he’s 30 though
April 9, 2009 at 15:33
flamster will prolly suffer the same fate as Robby Kean. Rafa was never keen on him so he did not play him. like wise carlo was not keen on flamster so he will not use him unless he has no choice (which is the case now). remember he had yohan and loan him. serve famini right tho. i agree with stu he will leave on a free in the last year of his contract to his dream club in spain
April 9, 2009 at 15:34
Internationals and cups i presume Franchise.
Im just the messenger, they said it on the highlights show. Talk to them if you got a problem…….
April 9, 2009 at 15:34
Oh excuse me, afternoon all
April 9, 2009 at 15:35
i would sign Dzeko…. loan out NikiB and maybe Vela. and slowly blood dzeko to lead my attack. if he settles in banging goals i would have to sell one or two strikers….. even Van Persie and Ade wouldnt be considered for sale
April 9, 2009 at 15:35
pleb i like it
April 9, 2009 at 15:35
Coadsi – it seems ancleotti is off to chelsea next season so Flamini will have a new manager
April 9, 2009 at 15:36
April 9, 2009 at 15:37
ha ha man crush, Franchise has a man crush on Adebayor
April 9, 2009 at 15:38
* would be considered i meant but some of u got it
April 9, 2009 at 15:38
he did score 4 in one game against some amateur team in a 7-0 win in the german cup, might’ve had a few other results like that. grafite’s goalscoring record this season is incredible
April 9, 2009 at 15:39
This is what I would play against Wigan.
……………….Fab……………….
Eboue……Kolo….Djoru/Silvest….Gibbs
Nasri……Cesc…..Denilson….Arshavin
………….Nick……Vela……………
I would rest Sagna, Ade and Walcott(knee).
Nick and Vela work well together. RVP and Eddy are just recovering from injuries…so i would not start them.
If Diaby is fit and we have a 2 goal cushion.
I would go with the subs
Diaby for Cesc on 65
RVp for Nick on 70
Eddy for Veal/Arsh on 75
April 9, 2009 at 15:40
dzeko rather than edardo franchise?! ridiculous
April 9, 2009 at 15:40
I’m off, hope you all have a Wiganbusting weekend.
April 9, 2009 at 15:40
dzeko doesn’t even lead the line for wolfsburg, grafite is the main man there!
April 9, 2009 at 15:40
i dont like ade but he has to start going on his current form…yes franchise that hurt
April 9, 2009 at 15:41
Dzeko is ur complete footballer intelligent, strong, quick, scores with both feet, team player etc
if u have read some of the things i said about Ade on here u would take back ur statement nick. im offended
im off guys
April 9, 2009 at 15:41
see ya later steve have a good one mate
April 9, 2009 at 15:41
bye Steve
April 9, 2009 at 15:42
who has been the best signing from the german league in the not too recent past?
April 9, 2009 at 15:42
April 9, 2009 at 15:42
bye Franchise
April 9, 2009 at 15:43
ja why take arsh or vela off?? wenger will do what he usually does – arshavin will play 90 as he’s not playing midweek in champs league, nasri and cesc, will come off if they start, maybe bendtner depending on whether he’s likely to start on tuesday, though i’d be surprised if he did. Those two subs are cemented to rest players for tuesday, keep the third for whichever player gets injured and needs a replacement!
April 9, 2009 at 15:43
he’s 6′3″ for fuck sake with the touch of an angel.
A as usual u always wish to have a different opinion. Ev1 in Germany are saying Dzeko is the next big thing. Even the Wolfsburg fans are worshiping him.
April 9, 2009 at 15:44
just kidding
im not off yet
April 9, 2009 at 15:44
Sagna needs a rest..I hope the boss uses the Wigan game to rest him, because all the other games are elimination games.
We need Sagna fresh for Villareal, Chelsea, then Liverpool at Anfield.

April 9, 2009 at 15:44
Vertino – Hleb
April 9, 2009 at 15:44
Not many players leave Fermany tho Vertino because the footballis good and the money is good.
All i can think of Ballack, Hargreeves, Hleb, Rosicky. And thats just to the big prem clubs. Cant think of any other players really.
April 9, 2009 at 15:45
Yes irish, I will hope its the manager he had b4 he came to arsenal (let him suffer). do you suspect that kaka will be at chelsea next season then?
April 9, 2009 at 15:45
Afternoon Gooners. Need a question answered……
Whose fault was the goal on Tuesday, lol!
April 9, 2009 at 15:45
hello again Franchise
April 9, 2009 at 15:45
bye steve, bye fran.
Ja i got a question, do you recycle your posts?
April 9, 2009 at 15:45
I dont hear rumours of Milan, Mancs, Arsenal being linked to Grafite
April 9, 2009 at 15:46
Stu Berbatov
April 9, 2009 at 15:46
Kaka to Spain I’d reckon. Chelsea don’t have much money any more, they can’t afford Kaka
April 9, 2009 at 15:46
MAD JENS best signing!!
April 9, 2009 at 15:47
Zorr0, i was everyones fault except Sagna.
April 9, 2009 at 15:47
of course the wolfsburg fans love him franchise, he’s been very good for them this season. But he plays second fiddle to grafite, who scores more goals for them and is more of a star for them….
He’s scoring a fair few goals but in a very poor league, and isn’t even their main forward, he plays with grafite who is their main man!
He couldn’t go from scoring a fair few goals in an average league (though the same as failed premiership forwards), whilst being the second top striker at a club in that league, to being our main striker leading the line!
April 9, 2009 at 15:47
I was just wondering who has been the best export from the bundesliga thats all. I think from that list it has to be hargreaves right? only asked the question coz its not a league I rate highly now.
April 9, 2009 at 15:47
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxxH1HcCysk
see Dzeko in action. if NikiB could be as fluent with the ball as this guy and as composed in front of goal i would love him to bits
April 9, 2009 at 15:48
Oh ya Franchise. Forgot about him….must be his personality.
April 9, 2009 at 15:48
ja i don’t think we can afford to rest sagna at the moment. We’ve already lost 3 of the back five, we need toure and gallas to be in there to stay as solid as possible and for their experience, though sagna could do with a rest it’s something we can’t afford to do unfortunately because of the injuries
April 9, 2009 at 15:49
Hargeaves is as injury prone as Rosicky so does he really count?
April 9, 2009 at 15:49
A, i wouldnt say the Bundesliga is a very poor league.
April 9, 2009 at 15:50
They play very good, fluent football over there.
April 9, 2009 at 15:51
“we need toure and gallas to be in there to stay as solid as possible and for their experience” – Think you meant someone different than Gallas “A”
April 9, 2009 at 15:51
Don’t forget goal a game Hleb! Or the bionic man (Rosicknote)!
April 9, 2009 at 15:51
not bad but A does have a point germany aint the best league to judge a player on but look at eddie croatia aint in the top 5 and he converted to our league well
April 9, 2009 at 15:51
Edin Dzeko remember the name
April 9, 2009 at 15:51
Stu, they were the most represented league at the Euro’s.
April 9, 2009 at 15:52
Exactly Pedro.
April 9, 2009 at 15:52
stu there are two forward in grafite and ibisevic who have scored over a goal a game in it.
pizzaro is up there alongside dzeko in the top scorers list even though he’s played less games and voronin isn’t even far behind. Scoring goals in the bundesliga really doesn’t mean a player will score in a top league
April 9, 2009 at 15:53
good point nick, but I think we should assess eddie’s goals after a full season. his ‘bouncebackability’ is not in doubt however.
April 9, 2009 at 15:53
http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009/04/05/1193332/manchester-united-enter-race-to-sign-edin-dzeko
Manchester United Enter Race To Sign Edin Dzeko
April 9, 2009 at 15:54
oh yeah i agree with that nick. I don’t rule out dzeko as being a decent goalscorer, but he isn’t even the best in that league, whereas eduardo was a record goalscorer in croatia, and adapted to the prem much quicker than everyone thought he would, but still was miles away from being able to lead the line straight off!
April 9, 2009 at 15:54
And he looks well built for the premiership. Nice and tall…
April 9, 2009 at 15:55
yeah but Spain isn’t that hard to score in either as they aren’t over bothered with defending and people aren’t knocking Villa et al because of that
April 9, 2009 at 15:55
why the feck do utd want more strikers they have more strikers then we do midfielders
April 9, 2009 at 15:55
A now u r judging Dzeko by goals when its NikiB u say his game is not all about goals. Talk about pushing posts to to suite ur argument
April 9, 2009 at 15:55
April 9, 2009 at 15:56
Wenger is going to Bayern Munich
April 9, 2009 at 15:56
Manure arevery greedy arent they….
they have Rooney, teves, Berbatov and also Ronaldo can score….they want to sign everybody
April 9, 2009 at 15:57
Whos to say players scoring loads in a shit league cant do the same here. There is no telling until someone takes the chance.
Knowing united with their luck they will sign him and he will get top scorer.
April 9, 2009 at 15:57
irish?? is that what you think from your powers of deduction or confirmed
April 9, 2009 at 15:58
i’ve not seen dzeko play franchise, i’ve got no idea what his overall play is like. The reason he’s being hyped in gossip columns and such like is because he went through a couple of weeks where he scored goals for fun, not because of his all round play. I’m not judging him on his goals, that’s the point, it’s what most people ARE doing! Have you seen him play 90 minutes franchise?
nick that article was from goal.com, you shouldn’t even be prepared to click a link that’s on that absolutely ridiculous website!
April 9, 2009 at 15:58
Irish, who is he scouting?
April 9, 2009 at 15:58
yep they signed macheda’s dad and gave him a job.
April 9, 2009 at 15:59
Nick – according to the Daily Mail
the worst one yet. Its the worst made up story ever
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1168756/The-end-Wenger-Bayern-Munich-lure-Arsenal-chief-Germany-mega-money-deal.html
Apparently they “have a long-term plan”
April 9, 2009 at 15:59
Macheda? Thats a biscuit aint it?
April 9, 2009 at 15:59
A didn’t but the catch was obvious what it was about
April 9, 2009 at 16:01
irish you wrote that didn’t ya you said weeks ago you thought wenger would stop there before going back to france.
April 9, 2009 at 16:01
This is my personally favourite paragraph:
“They believe that Wenger has been reluctant to move to the likes of Real Madrid in the past because their coaches shelf-lives rarely extend beyond two seasons. So Bayern want to offer the astute Frenchman a long-term project with licence to recruit French and African players in the same manner he has with Arsenal but backed with the cash to bankroll decent contracts and attract big name signings too.”
April 9, 2009 at 16:01
A..the truth is I would take the risk against Wigan…
and play Eboue at right back.
However Sagna must play against Villareal, Chelsea, and Liverpool.
Remember last season..it was precisely in this period that we lost Sagna and that really hurt our season.
Remember unlike Clichy and someothers ..he is first choice for France as well so he does not get any rest in the international break.
Whats the point of a squad if u cant rest players at times…I am saying just rest him for one game to re-charge his batteries thats all, I am not saying rest him every other game.
April 9, 2009 at 16:02
of all the top leauges, which do you guys reckon is the most competitive?………..i am weary about judging a player based on the number of goals scored in 1 season……..need to look no further that our own. also remember guzman?………manure are just greedy thats all.
April 9, 2009 at 16:02
I hope cesc wasnt watchin barcelona last night. would be a tempting move for him at the mo. how long is his contract does anybody know?
April 9, 2009 at 16:02
stu i’m not saying that becuase he’s scored goals in germany it means he won’t here.
my whole point is that the only reason dzeko is being massively hyped at the moment is that he’s scored alot of goals recently in the bundesliga
it’s shown by the likes of grafite, voronin, and pizarro that you don’t have to be a great striker to score goals in the bundesliga
that’s all i’m saying. It’s only the media who has hyped dzeko, i’ve not heard any managers or such like praising him, the gossip colums heard of all his goals, so made up rumours, that’s it. And some people heard his name and decided he was awesome, so looked on youtube, and anyone can look amazing on youtube.
i’m not saying he’s shit, i’ve got no idea how good he actually is, but i’ve not heard anyone who watches him regularly talk about him, just those who’ve read the tabloids and believed the gossip etc
April 9, 2009 at 16:02
when loud noises are being made about a players u would have to take notice. Its almost certain that some big club would snap him up and i want my club to be one of those clubs he is likely to move to.
April 9, 2009 at 16:03
Nick – I think he may go to Bayern Munich but only 2011 or after but that article is just hilarious. I feel pity for the stupid person that wrote it.
What was the brainwave?
Bayern loose a game, everyone says Wenger is fed up with Arsenal = shit article
really and I can’t get a job in the media, its disheartening
April 9, 2009 at 16:04
the most competitive is the german league. have a look at the top 5. But those teams would get rolled over by the likes of most in the prem tbh.
April 9, 2009 at 16:04
fucking hell its all gone pete tong again now clichy fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
April 9, 2009 at 16:04
the bundesliga is the least predictable league at the moment its quite competitive, the prem (top 4 ) is the most predictable
April 9, 2009 at 16:05
ja is right, and sagna looks knackered. a rest is badly needed
April 9, 2009 at 16:06
most predictable (top 2)..scottish prem
April 9, 2009 at 16:06
Irish, he nearly moved to Bayern before us… he’s always wanted that job I think.
The Germans would love him… he knows how to work on a budget and the leagues pretty technical.
I’m with A on the goalscoring thing… There are too many players that have great scoring records in their own league, then can’t recreate it outside.
Alfonso Alves, Kezman, Jardel, Machlas, Shevchenko!
Then there’s the one season wonders…
Phillips, Stewart, Ricketts…
It’s very difficult to judge isn’t it?
April 9, 2009 at 16:07
do u mean kevin phillips pedro?
April 9, 2009 at 16:07
there falling like flies again who’s next???????????
April 9, 2009 at 16:07
A i read my first rumour about Ade to Arsenal on goal.com
we were first linked to this Dzeko dude last January FYI. it means Wenger rates him
April 9, 2009 at 16:07
Irish, I don’t think your journalism has anything to do with your lack of a job… more to do with the fact they are laying half of fleet street off as all the news outlets cut back!
April 9, 2009 at 16:08
Yes Vertino… I know he’s scored goals since… but he never recreated that form that saw him top the goal charts… the year he scored 90% of his goals from about 30 yards out! He was amazing that year…
April 9, 2009 at 16:08
barba came from germany and was awesome, but other players who aren’t good score goals in germany
dzeko is being hyped by the media and the media alone, and only because he’s scored goals
scoring goals in germany doesn’t mean you’re a top player
that’s basically what my thinking is. If i hear anything from a reliable source, or dzeko wins german player of the season, or i speak to anyone who watches him regularly who praises his all round play then great, i’ll have a big listen.
currently though there’s not a single bit of talk about him that’s from anyone who actually knows how good he is who’s talking him up, just the tabloid press who saw some weird name scoring a few goals recently, and he’s just 22
April 9, 2009 at 16:08
Pedro – he got offered the Bayern job while at Monaco but they wouldn’t realise him and sacked him a month or two later.
He could well go there after us, I have said it before but the article is complete rubbish, just literally filling up cyberspace
April 9, 2009 at 16:09
Pedro – probably a bit of both ha ha
April 9, 2009 at 16:10
the fact your a gooonna dont help irish you know the press hate arsenal
April 9, 2009 at 16:10
lol yes franchise, that’s how it works. We were linked in the press to dzeko therefore wenger rated him, brilliant.
goal.com links every player on the planet to every team so they’re bound to get the odd rumour right. It’s impossible to know what’s true or not because there is so so so much shit on it, they have every single rumour possible on the website.
April 9, 2009 at 16:10
Pedro Shevchenko was banging in goals for Kiev at 23. he moved to Milan and he was still banging them in.
its easy to seperate class from the rest
April 9, 2009 at 16:11
ha ha I know Nick – I’d have to pretend to like United *yuck*
April 9, 2009 at 16:13
yeah that’s my point pedro – scoring shedloads of goals doesn’t mean you’re a great player, or that you’ll score goals in a different league
and the only reason people rate dzeko is because he’s scored lots of goals, and looks good on youtube.
April 9, 2009 at 16:13
A Arsene’s right hand man is quoted it wasnt an empty story like others
article 28th January 2008
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11670_3084858,00.html
April 9, 2009 at 16:14
Depending on Fitness, I would prabably play this team for the Villa return leg.
……………….Fab…………….
Sagna………Kolo…..Djouoru……Silvest
…………Cesc……..Song……………
……Walcott……RVP……….Nas/Bent
………………Ade………………….
April 9, 2009 at 16:14
franchise is right its known we are in for him going back to the summer before he started making the headlines
April 9, 2009 at 16:15
rish you dont need the job that bad
April 9, 2009 at 16:15
Watch him b4 u judge him. Wolfsburg are in action in the UEFA cup. use the oppurtunity. I think there is more to him than his goals thats the reason for the hype.
After all u keep saying Bendtner is highly rated in the world but he’s done nothing yet
April 9, 2009 at 16:16
*I
April 9, 2009 at 16:16
FRANCHISE YOU HAVE TO BASH NIKKI DONT YOU
April 9, 2009 at 16:17
you cockaaaaaroch you
April 9, 2009 at 16:17
i’m not judging him franchise, i havn’t said for one second he’s shit
have you actually seen him play extensively? has anyone on here?
April 9, 2009 at 16:18
My point is if Bendtner is highly rated its because of he’s potential same with Dzeko but Dzeko has started backing his potential with end product. he would most likely move to Inter, ACMilan, Mancs, Barca, Bayern or some other club bigger than Wolfsburg next season
April 9, 2009 at 16:19
never ha ha
April 9, 2009 at 16:20
ya right franchise and that dont happen often so take a bow
April 9, 2009 at 16:23
yeah but bendtner is at one of the biggest clubs in europe franchise. dzeko is 2 years older and in a league where it’s much easier to score goals, at a club where he’s guaranteed to play. dzeko at bendtner’s age was playing in czech republic too, so he hardly showed massive potential at 20.
franchise have you seen dzeko play many games? have you seen him play 90 minutes?
April 9, 2009 at 16:24
A your like a dog with a bone let it go ffs
April 9, 2009 at 16:25
im genuinly interested nick to see if anyone who rated dzeko so highly on here has even seen him play properly!
April 9, 2009 at 16:26
Nick, you musnt have control over your dog then. Its easy to get a bone off a dog is your the pack leader.
April 9, 2009 at 16:26
April 9, 2009 at 16:26
*if
April 9, 2009 at 16:27
I think Dzeko is in the same mould as berbatov. if he comes to the prem he will be crap in the first year but after that he shud settle in nicely and do well.
April 9, 2009 at 16:27
April 9, 2009 at 16:27
right im off now guys, cheerio!
April 9, 2009 at 16:28
Later Vertino.
April 9, 2009 at 16:28
see ya
April 9, 2009 at 16:28
have you watched him play coadsi? what’s his playing style like?? (only if you’ve watched him, not what you’ve read he’s like)
April 9, 2009 at 16:30
Bye Vertino
April 9, 2009 at 16:31
Has Stu seen him play he likes all things german?
April 9, 2009 at 16:31
Oh Irish, forgot to tell ya. Fuair me slat iomaniocht cupla seachtain o shin. Bhi se bronntanis le haghaigh mo breithla.
April 9, 2009 at 16:33
lol Reggie, i’ve only seen him in highlights so i dont know much about him apart from seeing some of his goals.
And whats wrong with liking all things German. They are brilliant at so many things.
April 9, 2009 at 16:33
Nice one Stu – you back playing?
Belated happy birthday or did I wish you one at the time?
April 9, 2009 at 16:34
Im not back playing. More of a recreational thing.
You didnt, i dont think i was on that day….noone was.
April 9, 2009 at 16:35
Franchise, Shevchenko was my curve ball…
April 9, 2009 at 16:36
agh sorry stu – belated happy birthday
April 9, 2009 at 16:37
happy bathday stu-dent
April 9, 2009 at 16:37
A i watched him yesterday( a re broadcast of the Bayern game). to be honest A he was silent until he scored the goal in my opinion. ok so thats one match so i guess it would be unfair to judge him based on that. so i will sit down and shut up
April 9, 2009 at 16:38
Not good at winning wars though lol

April 9, 2009 at 16:39
they’re good at starting wars though
April 9, 2009 at 16:40
what’s he like though coadsi? or what was he like yesterday? does he drop deep to pick the ball up or stay up top, or play off graffite etc??
April 9, 2009 at 16:40
your body is all wonky nick
April 9, 2009 at 16:40
Thanks Irish and Nick………
April 9, 2009 at 16:41
i KNOW fecked it right up
April 9, 2009 at 16:42
As per usual then Nick.
April 9, 2009 at 16:43
Nick your man looks like he has some jellied eels haha
April 9, 2009 at 16:43
fraid so stu how old are ye now,30
April 9, 2009 at 16:44
reggie good call
April 9, 2009 at 16:45
Not quite Nick. Try taking 11 of that.
April 9, 2009 at 16:46
*off
April 9, 2009 at 16:47
so your not an average student then stu
I think franchise has gone off to watch 90 mins of ya man playing so he can answer A
April 9, 2009 at 16:48
A graffite to me had more of the ball and stayed up top more. one of the goals he took he saw him running like crazy in the 70th or so minutes, controlling well with the right and placing it with the left tells volume about him. but like i said i watched the game to see him in particular but at times he was nowhere to be seen. again not basing any judgement either way here because its just the one game
April 9, 2009 at 16:49
April 9, 2009 at 16:51
Are we still interested in Inler / Zapata of udinese? i remember they wanted 9mil for Zapata. of course Le boss told them where to go with that suggestion. do you guys rate them better than our current crop of players?
April 9, 2009 at 16:51
Happy birthday Stu!
Nick, that is an excellent piece of art… very good.
April 9, 2009 at 16:53
cheers coadsi, fair dos. What sort of football do wolfsburg play, they must create a hell of a lot of chances for their two forwards to have scored just under a goal a game each!?
ha apologies irish/nick/everyone, was in a tetchy mood at first (rosicky not playing today upset me, was looking forward to it) but then became genuinly interested in what sort of player dzeko was as i realised i had no idea.
April 9, 2009 at 16:55
I am now totally convinced that Wenger put off spending until the last minute on arshavin, when he finally gave up all hope that Rosicky would ever play again.
April 9, 2009 at 16:56
The Rosicky situation is becoming a joke…its fairly obvious he will never play again yet no-one will just come out and say it.
A 2 week injury has become 15 months out, he probably isnt even on the payrole anymore, he owns a bar in Prague, one of them titty bars….sweet.
April 9, 2009 at 16:57
it’s your bday stu?? many happy returns….
i disagree kelsey
rosicky has gotten over his big injury, he’s just having the same little niggling groin injuries that everyone can have after not playing for ages, like eduardo has had. He will play again, probably not in the first team this season though.
wenger bought arshavin when he realised that it wasn’t a certainty that rosicky would be back anytime soon
April 9, 2009 at 16:58
A – seriously there could be a career in that for you, getting information off people
Kelsey – the arshavin deal was literally last minute, doubt Wenger wanted it to run that long to be honest.
April 9, 2009 at 16:59
Does anyone else think that Rosicky will ever
play top class football again?
April 9, 2009 at 17:00
i think he will reggie, but very unlikely to make an appearance this season
April 9, 2009 at 17:00
But Arshavin does seem like a replacement for Rosicky
April 9, 2009 at 17:01
A I think he is finished mate!!
April 9, 2009 at 17:01
A i hear that argument about niggling injuries. but this only applies to our china men apparantly. Essien out for ages comes back, so far so good eduardo on the other hand (at least he kicked a ball) Rosicky, injured by just the thought of kicking a ball
April 9, 2009 at 17:02
yeah i’m sure he was irish, because rosicky wasn’t going to be returning anytime soon so it forced wenger’s hand. When rosicky does return to full fitness it’ll just mean we’ve got more quality than we would have had if wenger hadn’t been forced to move for arshavin
April 9, 2009 at 17:03
Rosicky’s just seems so long – should any injury be that long?
April 9, 2009 at 17:05
A – I don’t see Rosicky ever playing 30 games a season if he does return to be honest
April 9, 2009 at 17:05
essien was only 6 months coadsi, very different to 12 in eduardo’s case or 18 in rosicky’s.
the fears about rosicky never playing again should be over, because the injury which threatened that has gone, it’s been fixed. It’s just that rosicky is naturally pretty injury prone so he’s gonna pick up shitloads of niggles returning after so so long out
April 9, 2009 at 17:06
oh yeah i agree with that irish – he won’t have fixed all his injury problems from before, just the big one. He still won’t be an ever present type thing.
regarding how long it was it’s because it was so complex. But it’s been fixed, that injury is finished with, it’s a new injury which has left him sidelined now
April 9, 2009 at 17:07
I dont think its so far fetched for Wenger to go & manage Bayern.
He has always supported them, he probably considers himself as German as he is French. I could definately see it happening, but he will probably stay til his contract expires at least.
April 9, 2009 at 17:09
Gambon – yep I agree with that, I have said it a number of times that Bayern is his next port of call after us but I think he’ll stay til 2011 but that article was so crap, no sources, no anything!!
April 9, 2009 at 17:09
thats my other point A, when was Eduardo, Rosicky and Ade (tho he is back now) due to be back vs when they actually returned? i dont expect to see Rosicky ever kicking a ball for us again. if it happens well good for him but i dont expect it
April 9, 2009 at 17:12
Do you expect to see Rosicky at Arsenal next season??
Suppose no-one would really buy him and the effort the club put into getting fit suggests he’ll me here. When does he have a contract til? 2010?
April 9, 2009 at 17:13
i don’t expect to see rosicky again kind of like the gallas situation
April 9, 2009 at 17:15
i do irish. he can work hard but be very patient from now until pre season so he’s built up strength in all his muscles getting over all the niggles and be fully fit for the start of next season
April 9, 2009 at 17:15
what a load of bollocks now clichy who’s next
April 9, 2009 at 17:15
have to agree with you BBK
April 9, 2009 at 17:16
about time irish lolll
April 9, 2009 at 17:17
I hope you are right A I really do but I have little hope of seeing it to be honest
April 9, 2009 at 17:18
BBK
April 9, 2009 at 17:19
why though irish? the big career threatening injury has been fixed. Now he’s just back to his injury prone self, but having been out for so so long he’s going to get a ridiculous amount of niggles whilst he builds up strength, because he’s already injury prone. that’s all this is
April 9, 2009 at 17:20
LAUGH OUT LOAD
April 9, 2009 at 17:21
LAUGH OUT LOUDER
April 9, 2009 at 17:24
Its a year and a half “A” – thats a long time in football, to be out of the pace of the game, has he even kicked a ball in that time?
As I said I really do hope you are right but I’m not getting my hopes up.
April 9, 2009 at 17:26
A I VILL ASK YOU ONLY VONCE have you seen him play vor 90mins.
April 9, 2009 at 17:27
agree with u irish
April 9, 2009 at 17:27
All this talk about Macheda is so pathetic… build him up to knock him down… it’s pretty harsh.
Can’t the press ever act in a reasoned manner?
Why does everything have to be so sensationalist?
Not that Le Grove doesn’t get excited about young players and good results… but we’re not doing it to elevate the height at which someone can fall.
April 9, 2009 at 17:27
thanks for the paise pedro it means a lot

you always seem to want to disagree, but put your own slant on what was said.i believe rosicky is unfortunately beyond repair and he will be 29 by the time the new season starts.i can’t swear he will never play again,as much as you don’t know for sure that he is over all his injuries. We could have bought AA in the summer but didn’t9which we should have0 as obviously money was available.
disagree by all means, but that doesn’t always make you right.

April 9, 2009 at 17:54
when did i say disagreeing with you makes me right kelsey?! you have your opinion, i have mine, that’s the way debating works….
arsenal have said repetedly that he’s over the old injury, and that the “slight groin problem” he’s had trouble with since is in no way connected with the previous problem, and I believe them.
I agree about arshavin, with hindsight we should have signed him in the summer, but wenger thought rosicky would be back near enough the early part of the season so we wouldn’t need him. If we’d got him in the summer we’d be most likely winning the title imo.
April 9, 2009 at 17:57
kelsey have you seen rosicky play 90mins….well
bye all
April 9, 2009 at 17:59
so guys any news on the fitness or RvP or Eduardo?
April 9, 2009 at 18:00
Did anyone of u notice at the Barca-Bayern game Ribery and Henry exchanged shirts at half time?
April 9, 2009 at 18:02
Nothing on RvP or Eduardo that I have seen
April 9, 2009 at 18:05
Rosicky was injury prone before the knee tendon problem and he’s likely to be even more injury prone after it.
People seem to think that the physio’s have gotten to the root of all his injury problems suffered throughout his career but they haven’t. They’ve just gotten to the bottom of the knee injury suffered against Newcastle.
April 9, 2009 at 18:13
yeah that’s true paulinho – although i’m sure they’ve worked on the other problems, his career is no longer under threat, because the knee/thigh injury is solved, but when he gets back to full fitness he’ll just be like he was before, picking up niggly injuries all the time etc
April 9, 2009 at 18:57
Hi,
We can’t forget about Dzeko.Wenger will never sell Ade and Bendy.
April 9, 2009 at 19:05
Has anyone been watching the Shakhtar Marseille match? Cana is playing but i just turned it on with OM losing 2-0. Anyone?

April 9, 2009 at 19:12

April 9, 2009 at 19:13

April 9, 2009 at 19:18

any idea how to watch it?
April 9, 2009 at 19:19
Dunno do Hamburg have much??
April 9, 2009 at 19:21
What a shitly balanced team City are playing. Playing 5 out and out attackers with Zabaleta the only semi-defensive player apart from the defenders.
Should be plently of goals in that match.
April 9, 2009 at 19:22
I’ll watch it for a while see it is any good. TV3 are crap when doing sport but sure nothing much else on
April 9, 2009 at 19:24
Well they have a few good players. Mathijsen, Olic, Pertic, Guerrero. And Trochowski who we were linked with in the summer. Probably noone we are interested in now tho.
April 9, 2009 at 19:25
i am gonna try and watch the Udinese match, to check out inler and zapata
April 9, 2009 at 19:25
Olic is going to Bayern in the summer isn’t he? and Polodski is moving to Cologne I think
April 9, 2009 at 19:26
Yep, TV3 are really shite.
I would like to watch Wolfsburg to look at Dzeko but dont think that on tv and couldnt be arsed looking for a link.
April 9, 2009 at 19:27
Ya, odd how players in Germany to do that so often. Nothing like that ever happens in the prem.
April 9, 2009 at 19:28
yeah I’m the same Stu – streams can get annoying so just watch the game on TV
April 9, 2009 at 19:31
I forgot Martin Jol was Hamburg manager until I saw his face pop up on screen
April 9, 2009 at 19:32
ok thats it, stu who is wolfsberg playing and when? i tried the regular: rojadirecta.org and atdhe.net but not even the name is there can u assist?
April 9, 2009 at 19:32
Just checking their team on Wiki. Apparently Barzagli is with Wolfsburg. I knew he moved to Germany after getting relegated but forgot who he joined. I doubt he even plays for them. Many steps backwards by him there.
April 9, 2009 at 19:33
Oh god Danny Mills and Tony Cascarino as pundits
TV3 are hopeless
April 9, 2009 at 19:33
anyone watching the reserves game?
April 9, 2009 at 19:35
Not much of a reserve team out Coadsi and again I’d have to find a link anyway

Saw the goal. Ireland is a cunt for quiting int football.
April 9, 2009 at 19:49
Slan Irish.
April 9, 2009 at 20:15
Nice Vid..
April 9, 2009 at 20:19
as far as the risisky situation is concerned he only has 1 year to prove his fittness, added to the fact there is alot compitition for places he only has 1 year left on his contract, i would sell him. i realy dont think we can look ast any team we still lots of work to in the second leg and if we get past them porto is very good team
April 9, 2009 at 20:25
Choy, that was a really great video. The music too. Watching that brings back all the memories of last season and akes me miss Flamini, Rosicky and even Eduardo even more.
April 9, 2009 at 20:30
yep.. great team chemistry.
the le rosick list never seems to be empty
April 9, 2009 at 20:33
I fucking loved that midfield. Hate that it has been broken up and especially so quickly. And chances are we will only have Cesc left if Rosicly cant get fit. And even then there’s a chance he might go if his ambition isnt matched.
April 9, 2009 at 21:12
Rosicky has a small groin problem and Gallas is out for the season probably. Fuck me.
Clichy 2 weeks and Almunia 3.
Although I do think CLichy will make the CL 2nd leg.
Wigan lineup:
Fabianski
Sagna Kolo JD Gibbs
Theo Cesc Song Arshavin
RVP/ Eduardo Ade
What you think?
April 9, 2009 at 21:17
Walcott/Rosicky Nasri Fabregas Ashrivan
i think datz da best possible midfield.
Diaby and deneilson cud fill in any tym
April 9, 2009 at 21:25
yea Pat,
but not song.
April 9, 2009 at 21:25
SS, thats a good midfield if we are playing against a team that doesnt attack. But in reality our defence would be left completely exposed when the oppo has the ball. We NEED a proper DM.
April 9, 2009 at 21:27
Pat, if Ade wasnt on good goalscoring form then i would prefer Bendtner and Vela up front. Maybe Ade and Nik because Vela might not be able to start against such physical opposition. VP and Eduardo wont be able to start if they are only having latr fitness tests to see if they are fit to be in the squad.
April 9, 2009 at 21:29
pat bendtner will start, i’d imagine alongside vp, with eduardo coming on. Other than that it’ll probably be down to who’s the more tired out of nasri and theo as to who’s left on the bench
April 9, 2009 at 21:31
depending on how cesc is feeling, he might play with denilson and song behind him, arsh and theo/nasri out wide, and bendtner up top.
Or maybe cesc could be rested with song and denilson centreally
April 9, 2009 at 21:34
Cesc should play at least 1 of the half. Either coming off or on at HT. Preferably coming on because we play our better football in the second half..usually.
If he doesnt start and Denilsong play then we have to put 2 up front because otherwise we will have too few atackers.
April 9, 2009 at 21:37
Ha how do you like that. 3 of the Hamburg players i mentioned scored against City.
April 9, 2009 at 21:37
Once again Merida plays well in the reserves and once again Bischoff does very little.
Merida is the only one in the reserves worth talking about at the moment. The rest all play very immaturely though they are talented.
April 9, 2009 at 21:38
Paukinho, good to hear How were they? Score and all?
April 9, 2009 at 21:39
yeah of course stu – i think he could well start though with denilson and song behind him. The more game time cesc gets the more match fit he’ll be, but i doubt he’s up to playing in a midfield two, so needs two holding mids behind him. I reckon it could well be
fabianski
sagna–toure–jd–gibbs
——denilson–song——
nasri—-cesc—-arshavin
——-bendtner——
wenger could always throw in a surprise if either of den or song are feeling a knock and stick in ramsey for one of them, especially with how many games we’ve got coming up in such a short space of time.
if cesc is feeling up to 4-4-2 it could be him dropping back alongside either of denilson or song, and vp, eduardo, or possibly ade pushing up to play alongside bendtner
April 9, 2009 at 21:41
not sure about that paulinho! merida had a few nice touches but he had a fair few wayward ones, noone played well for the reserves today. bischoff was pretty pants today, barely touched the ball. randall is such a bellend too, few nice touches but few nobbish touches. frimpong’s attrocious technique and passing is so annoying
April 9, 2009 at 21:42
absolutely attrocious paulinho, lost 3-0
April 9, 2009 at 21:42
Cant see Frimpong making it then. Especially as technique id the base of a top player. N base no success….unless you play in a shite league..
April 9, 2009 at 21:43
stu even, not paulinho
April 9, 2009 at 21:45
i dunno stu, he’s so so strong in the tackle, very feisty. he’s kinda like ade – at his very best his ability to participate in footballing moves is adequate, but when he’s off form he does some really embarrassing things!
April 9, 2009 at 21:45
Stu, we lost 3-0. Score was very flattering.
A, Merida had a few sloppy moments but I defy any half decent player not to go mad playing with some of these tools in the reserves.
None of the players are on the same wavelength and someone like Merida has to force the issue in order to make an impression. He will excel alongside someone like Cesc who can actually play the sort of possession game.
You could make the same argument for Bischoff but I just don’t rate him. I see no reason why Wenger felt compelled to bring him over from Bremen.
April 9, 2009 at 21:51
Bischoff is 21 now and is going to leave the club. No grtitide if he is pimping himself to other clubs already.
Merida is amazing for the Spain youths because he plays with great technical players. I dont know what our reserves are all like but there is a great possibility that the spainish are better. Promting him is the only way to see if he is up to it.
April 9, 2009 at 21:51
geez.. losing at any level to the spuds sucks!!!
I think cesc should go back to the center of the park. he defends better than denilson and song!
but it is a pretty static midfield if he is partnered with song or denilson… but i do think denilson is faster…
April 9, 2009 at 21:52
*gratitude
Spanish
April 9, 2009 at 21:52
oh yeah i agree paulinho – i said as soon as the team was announced that he was never going to have a good game with the complete lack of movement in front of him! The only players who could contribute to any decent football were bischoff and randall, and those moments were far and few between.
Out of the reserves next season I expect JET, Frimpong, Coquelin, Bartley, Ayling to be part of the league cup team, randall and bischoff to be off in the summer.
Merida could be a member of the first team squad if he has a good pre season, or he could go on loan, or just stay and be a member of the reserves/league cup for one last season try and fight to get into the first team squad.
in december bischof looked like he was showing why wenger wanted to take a risk with him, head and shoulders above the rest, and i thought he’d get an appearance or two on the bench, but he never got a real chance, and i reckon he’s lost his drive since he realised he isn’t going to make it with us
April 9, 2009 at 21:55
A, what about loaning those players. Chances are some of them will go out somewhere. Its rare that a player get promoted straight from the reserves without any first team experence from somewhere. Hence why Lansbury is gone out ans doing well.
Randall is hopefully on his last chance. He was shite at Burnley on loan and came back to be captain. I hope he just fucks off and gets us a few million.
April 9, 2009 at 22:01
yeah – lansbury will take another year or two before coming into the first team squad though, he’s only in league one now, he’ll need championship or prem experience first as we’ve got so many midfielders.
merida could well go on loan, i’m not sure many of the others will be loaned until after xmas because of the league cup team, but some probably will
April 9, 2009 at 22:01
fucking hell just got back from that reserve game what a load of bollocks
April 9, 2009 at 22:02

April 9, 2009 at 22:03
yeah cheers a lollll
April 9, 2009 at 22:03
I’m quite liking this as a possible line up:
————-Almunia—–
—Sagna–Toure–Djorou—Clichy
————Song————-
——-Fabregas—-Merida—–
Walcott/Nasri——–Arshavin
————Ade/Bendtner——
April 9, 2009 at 22:07
when paulinho? merida isn’t gonna be ready to start regularly for a year or so, by that time the team could be pretty different, coquelin, wilshere, vela etc be involved too
April 9, 2009 at 22:08

April 9, 2009 at 22:10
did you run home, you must have overtook ursain bolt!!
April 9, 2009 at 22:11
Now. A.
Merida’s level will rise exponentially with aware players like Cesc around him. He’ll have plenty of opportunities to fire in shots with Cesc teeing him up.
I think he needs to be blooded now. He’s got a game no one else in the squad has got. I even think he’s ahead of Wilshere.
He will stagnate playing with “athletes” like JET and Frimpong, players with limited passing range.
April 9, 2009 at 22:12
nah,i got a fast car reggie, tbh i couldn’t take no more so done a runner 15 mins before the end

Isnt Merdia 19 or almost. He is behind the curve in terms of getting to the first team at arsenal. I mean the CC this season were his first few appearances. Whats that about like!

April 9, 2009 at 22:20
nah paulinho, he has nice touches, but far too many lapses of concentration and gives the ball away far too much to be considered to play in midfield for the first team at the moment. Maybe after a good pre season he could be considered a squad member next season, but currently he’s a fair way off. Ramsey is a long way ahead of him in coming through in that position
April 9, 2009 at 22:20
loll reggie, franchise you live round that area for long

April 9, 2009 at 22:45
neither did i
April 9, 2009 at 22:46
Did any of the reserve players go off injured BBK?
April 9, 2009 at 22:48
yeah I am watching Green street too. already had that discussion with my wife about the accents.
Merida, Coquelin, Wilshere, Barazite will make it.
Lansbury, JET, Frimpong, Nortdveit, Bartley, Murphy might make it.
no one else will make it here.
the reserve team is just too weak at the moment. 4 decent players and the rest are not top quality. even so they are not showing the desire or effort that you simply hve to show when the results are not coming. very shoddy at the moment.
April 9, 2009 at 22:49
not that i know of reggie
April 9, 2009 at 22:50

What about Ayling do you think he will make it?
April 9, 2009 at 22:52
I forgot you had it on your toes before the game finished (fuckin part timer)lolll
April 9, 2009 at 22:57
lolllll reggie
April 9, 2009 at 23:00
yeah I wasn’t sure about Ayling. he was one I nearly put down in the maybe’s. he is a great ball player, can dribble up the pitch well. its still early for him. I know he is rated by those at Arsenal. I was hoping for a proper defender. someone who defends first, clears the man and the ball. Arsenal lack a player like that since Keown. but I am not writing him off by any means, but he is 3 years away so I reserve judgement on Ayling. he will be 18 in the summer. next season will be an important one for him -thats when he needs to make his mark.
Scheshny is a decent keeper. Shea is rubbish!
We also have that Bothelo in spain. he might turn out to be great. Gavin Hoyte probably wont make it right at the very top. many of these players will make solid premier league careers but possibly not Arsenal.
Freeman is still very young so to early to judge, Simpson and Sunu dont look quite top quality either. maybe 6th choice or something!

Spent fuck all, yet this Arsenal team, this new attitude and this hope we now have make me so proud to be a gooner. We will win something this season. Although i get well pissed of with Arsenal on a day to day basis, ie not spending, Eboue, Song and giving up too easy (Gallas.
We are so respected for life and creativity that they all want a piece of us.
April 10, 2009 at 01:34
OH no Linaker the cunt went there decades ago
April 10, 2009 at 01:34
i agree with the not spending its total bollocks m8, also denilsong really gets up my nose
April 10, 2009 at 01:40
Mate defensive midfielder, stability up front and we are there. Wigan and we are18 games unbeaten. how the fuck?
April 10, 2009 at 01:43
i know we need better then what denilsong and eboue have to offer
April 10, 2009 at 01:50
Fuck all they ain’t our future. Eboue, Sagna’s cover thats it. Cesc deserves the best next to him, Flamini was an accident in midfield that worked, now we have to purchase.
April 10, 2009 at 01:51
i 1000% agree
April 10, 2009 at 01:55
You think he weren’t all that in defence, covered in midfield did brilliantly then fucked off. maybe Diaby will do or spend some fuckin dosh.
April 10, 2009 at 05:21
even if diaby and deneilson are gud enough onther midfielder wud be gud to increase depth

Morning Grovers,
I am pleased to be reading the blog from Tehran where I can confirm that the site is not restricted in anyway (too bad the same cannot be said about Song’s footballing abitlity)
I am looking forward to the game tommorrow which should be on TV here thanks to the non-existance of TV rights! We realy need a good win to give confidence to the players coming in to go out an finish The Yellow Subs midweek. Being a home game I think we will go with a 4-4-2 and have Ade with RvP and then Eduardo to come on and grab one to finish them off.
April 10, 2009 at 07:32
Good luck there inside! Let’s hope you get out alright.
Watching the match live is the only thing that would make me want to visit Iran!
Good luck so.
April 10, 2009 at 07:41
Thanks Geoff, before I came here I had to stop over at Azerbaijan, now that was a sketchy place I couldnt wait to leave.
By the Kolo Toure’s cousine Ibrahim Toure plays for Perespolis, one of the two biggest clubs here in Iran.

Having just looked at our fixture list from tomorrow until the possibility of a CL final at the end of May,we have a game approximately every 3.5 days if we remain in both cup competitions.A daunting task in itself, when you see who we have to play. There are many possible alternatives, but I firmly believe that we have to set a realistic goal on two fronts.
One to ensure 4th.place and secondly to reach the CL Final and hopefully win that competition that has been elusive to us.Hearing that Gallas is now out for the rest of the season, could be pivotal as to how we fare. I would say that his loss is of more importance than the 4 months we had without Fabregas,as though we drew far too many games,we were and still are undefeated domestically.Taking one game at a time,we start with Wigan away, and having lost Almunia,Clichy as well as Gallas, our options are limited.Fabianski and i presume Gibbs will come in,and Djorou would be my bet, though not my choice to partner Toure.here lies the trouble,Djorou has been very poor in his last two domestic games, but we don’t have a better alternative.
Wigan have only scored 6 league goals this year, yet they are still fighting for a European spot, but with the return of Arshavin,Cesc, and possibly Bedntner,RVP or even Eduardo, I am going for a 2-0 away victory.
On another issue, i keep reading with a fully fit squad we would match any team on a one off game, and though I don’t disagree,i think some fans are blinded as to how good some of our players really are.Song and Denilson may have improved, but are they really the standard of a team challenging to win trophies.Eboue is Eboue, and said countless times, his only real value is as a sub for Sagna.Ramsey and Wilshere are ones for the future, but how long is a piece of string.on the other hand we have an abundance of attacking minded players,in fact when fully fit,too many.So if the balance of the team could be addressed we have every chance for next season to challenge for the title..Only one man can do that, and we all know that he does show a reluctance to make changes, and as in this season,a little possibly too late.

Benno, I wish I was there!
Inside, I’m glad I’m not and Kelsey I agree but we got shouted down for saying that 2 days ago, if we replaced those three with great players we would win the lot.
That’s how close I believe we actually are.
April 10, 2009 at 08:37
Morning all,
Kelsey i don’t think Wigan just scored 6 league goals all season, something must be not right.
April 10, 2009 at 08:38
Hi guys
I was just watching sky sports news, and im beginning to get pissed of at tony gail(or what ever his name is)
He started saying that he doesn’t beleive we are going to win the champions league because of our ” weakness in defence” is he taking the piss.
UNited are conceding bucket loads of goals recently. Liverpool just conceded 3 in one game. In fact in the last 10 games i beleive we have the best defensive record.
If he doesn’t thing we are good enough why does he not come out and say it, instead of using old wife tales.

Because Kevin he can barely articulate, he’s thick as two short planks, you know the bit when Homer’s thinking, and it comes out loud? That’s Tony Gale.
Thinks he’s a cheeky chappie, but is in fact a thick cunt.
