Use the time well Arsene, we can still have our best ever season

by & filed under Uncategorized.

As ridiculous as this may seem, we could still win the FA cup, the Champions league and the Premiership, we can take 3 points off of the people above us, so the Mancs could be 7, the Scousers 6 and the chavs 3 points ahead and with the points system we have, it’s possible to catch them.

In theory we could meet Porto in the semis and Bayern in the final, winnable, we could play Everton in the FA cup and that’s winnable too, so if the others can take points of of each other then we could come out of this season with everything bar the worthless cup, so if we can just keep on winning, we can go all the way, look at us last season, a win at Birmingham would have seen us go 8 clear of the Mancs, so as far as I’m concerned it’s all ours to lose.

There are players you all know I’m far from convinced with, but Diaby and Denilson have gone up in my estimation, and with Rosicky, Eduardo, Cesc, Theo and Ade all still to come back we are looking solid and more than capable of beating anyone and that includes ManU, Liverpool, Barcelona or Bayern Munich.

So if we get all our players back and in form, the players I’m not convinced about won’t feature anyway, what a turn around that will be eh? I have to say I’m putting a lot of this on the signing of Arshavin, he has given the fans and the players alike a massive lift, had we signed him at the start of the season we could have been out of sight by now.

I hope Gazidas and Arsene have learned from that and push on in the summer and bring in the strength we need in certain areas, they haven’t changed, we still need a defensive midfield giant, a world class centre back and possibly a keeper, though I do think Fabianski will step up.

None of the above is a moan, it’s an observation, we looked great in the second half at Newcastle and both Robin and Nikki ought to keep Ade out, but Ade as an impact sub could be the key to beating the Mancs and scousers away.

A quiet couple of weeks, but I’ll think of something to say and keep your fortnight occupied and hopefully enjoyable, you Grovers can do the rest, you always do.

Have a great day, if we can avoid injuries against our biggest injury giver (Wengers training) we should be continuing our fabulous run well into April.

Can you imagine the type of cunt who sits in an appeals office and thinks that sort of behaviour is acceptable?

  2. A

pedro i wouldnt say that’s an example of how fucked up our country is – it’s an isolated instance of idiocy by a specific council, i’ve had many reprieves when given parking tickets, always seem to see common sense from my experience, thankfully

  3. zorr0

    Henry
    Bergkamp
    Vieira
    Wright
    Adams

www is in danger of dropping off the list with some of his nonsense on talkshite! To be replaced by Fab4.

I was gonna have my eyes done, but I couldn’t see the point!

  4. A

i wouldn’t say the law is an ass irish, it’s individual human beings who are asses. 99.9% of the time things work out fine, but the other 0.01% be it because of human error, or just generally a complete idiot of a human being things can be absolutely ridiculous. It isn’t indicative of our legal system and such like though, but the ridiculousness of the rare situations are reported as a common occurance by toilet paper like the daily mail. Country’s going to the dogs, political correctness gone made etc etc

  5. Pedro

How did I know you’d disagree?

It’s not an isolated case, trawl the internet for two seconds and you’ll find loads of stories like that…

It’s not just parking tickets… recycling tickets, clamping, late tax returns… everything comes accompanied with a fine of sorts these days.

Philosophically A, should people always be punished? I thought you were against punishment?

  6. nick

people were starting to get political and is not the way to travel for me as i ave no time for it lets talk religion instead less controversial yeah

  7. A

i’m massively against punishment pedro – i believe the concepts of revenge and punishment are primitive and irrational!

  8. nick

you do wrong your punished or whats to stop you doing wrong A in other countries you steal your hand comes off over here you steal you get given more to stop absolute BOLLOXS later Grover’s I’m gone solid gone

  9. irishgunner

    I tell you what’s an ass A

In Ireland last week 4 people were attacked – 2 men and 2 women

the men were beat so senseless that one of them wondered off, didn’t know where he was and they didn’t find him til the next day.

The 2 women were given of choice of being either beaten with a crowbar, shot or raped. For good measure they raped one of them and smashed the other one’s face in with the crowbar.

These “men” were arrested but left off on bail and as they were not Irish citizens did not have their passports taken and as no charge has yet been made can flee the country.

Now that my friend is a fucking ass

  10. Pedro

Probably not the best topic to discuss on an Arsenal blog… I can see where this one will end up going…

So Nik B, best striker at Arsenal these days?

  11. nick

im into karma, be good and good comes back, be bad and get what you deserve. an eye for an eye, this shit was about before pc and the world ticked on so what makes more sense this or the pc shite that alienates and infuriates people aiding the week and corrupt really gone now bye

  12. Pedro

Nick, PC is definitely the a way of controlling peoples right to speak out…

You can’t say anything without upsetting people these days… it’s so boring.

  13. Pedro

    Irish, it was top notch!

The sort of thing a normal person would say!

I saw Joe bidden at a press conference saying something like,

‘I just want to make a special mention to Steve, hey where is Steve… Steve stand up and show your face!’

*Steve was in a wheel chair.

    Fucking priceless!

  14. A

it is indeed irish, but why? the law doesn’t dictate that those who commit vicious crimes are let off on bail without their passports being taken?! horrific, but it isn’t because it’s legal to do it it!

to be fair, i’m not against punishment completely, only in more serious cases. In little cases like littering, parking, shoplifting etc it’s necessary, but it’s just in extreme cases where i think it’s silly. Smaller crimes it’s necessary as a deterrant, bigger crimes the deterrant isn’t relevant because the criminal doesn’t commit the crime thinking that the punishment isn’t that bad, they commit it because of serious psychological problems, or because they think they won’t get caught, or because they believe it’s the right thing to do, and no punishment however extreme will act as a deterrant for them.

  15. irishgunner

    Pedro

I read a comment somewhere that said American’s shouldn’t be insulted that Obama said his bowling was so bad it wasn’t even special olympic standard seeing as their last president could have actually participated in the games

  16. A

pedro – PC, the way the daily mail use the term, is a massive way of controlling criticism based on rationality. People try and defend irrational traditions, or just “the way things are” by claiming any argument or cricism, however rational, and with no rational counter argument, are just “part of the PC brigade”. It’s laughable

  17. SFOGunner

    Irish,

Thought so. Maybe it is a prelude to shipping Ade in the Summer. Not sure if we can get a good price considering the season he has had.

  18. Pedro

A, you make some crazy assumptions.

Vicious crimes are committed without the knowledge they are wrong?

You are talking about people who plead insanity, who are treated differently anyway?

What about those boys who poured caustic soda over the handicap girl they raped… to hide the evidence.

Hiding evidence would indicate they knew what they were doing was wrong… raping a handicap girl is a serious crime… but you wouldn’t have them do jail time?

What about Huntley? Killed two girls, then colluded with his girlfriend to dispose of the bodies… killing two girls is serious… disposing their bodies is evidence he knew it was wrong… does he get jail time?

Still, at least a litter bug gets a fine…

  19. A

SFO I think we’ll still get 15-20 mil for him, or maybe 30 mil if city are interested! I think we’d prefer him to stay, as he’s a very good plan B, but it’ll all depend on just how much last season’s success went to his head, and whether he’s willing to play a bit part role.

  20. irishgunner

SFO – not too sure what its all about to be honest unless Wenger was giving him added rest or it just took longer than usual but there was no mention of him back in training of anything but apparently is back in the Togo squad.

  21. irishgunner

those that litter at the worst people although they could plead insanity to get out of paying a fine I suppose

  22. A

yeah i don’t mean that people necessarily don’t understand right and wrong, but they’re psychologically unstable.

In serious crimes, as our biological understanding improves, we’ll be able to analyse and work out why serious crimes are commited, be they hormonal imbalances, or psychological problems brought on by previous experiences, and put them right. If that person who committed a crime because of x,y, and z, have x, y and z sorted out, then they are no longer a threat to society.

Just like in some scandinavian countries (i think its scandinavian countries??) sex attackers have the option of having their testicles chopped off, because then there’s no chance of them reoffending. I think that practice will eventually be extended as our understanding of the way people work improves.

I think anyone with the capability of committing a serious crime should be locked away, and not released into society until it’s known that there is no chance of them committing a similar crime again. But on the flip side if someone who committed a serious crime is treated so that they are no longer capable of committing a similar crime, then there is no justification for locking them up, for “punishment” purposes.

  23. Pedro

    A, you are a nightmare!

You’d release someone who’d already done something awful… but you’d jail someone for a thought crime!

What would you do with people who killed out of rage?

Say some guy catches his wife of 10 years in bed with another man… loses the plot and kills him with the bedside lamp. He’s never done anything like that before, he just got unlucky… egg shell skull theory… Does he get away with it?

    P.S I’m sure I’ve read castration doesn’t prevent sex offenders… it’s not a sex thing, it’s a power thing…

  24. irishgunner

In all respect that is rubbish

Say that is the law and I decide I want to kill my enemy. I got out and shoot him/her and then off I go to jail but i behave in such a manner that I am left back off and thus off the hook.

There is an evil in people and many people that commits crimes know exactly what they are at and try to cover it up.

Take Fritzel in Austria – he changed his plea two days into his trial to make it look as if he had felt sorrow towards what he had did to his daughter when all he was looking for was a lighter sentence. He knew and still knows what he is doing.

  25. finestcuts

Gotta agree with Pedro A, no or minor repercussion for thieves, fraudsters, rapists, murderers and those who instigate violence is what keeps these people on the streets.

If resources were used to punish and tackle the most severe crimes and incarcerate those guilty of them, offending would fall drastically. Wasting money on things like the smoking police just re-inforces the image that serious crimes are not treated with the severity they deserve to be.

I’ll give you an example from my own life. I grew up in London but now live in Warsaw where jay walking is illegal. I was not aware of this. It was late in the evening, the road was empty, no cars coming and I crossed the road. The Police pulled me over and demanded my documents. I was livid with rage, I did not even believe them. I was invited to go to a Police station to speak to a senior officer a few weeks later since I said I refused to pay the fine and I informed them of the situation. I was let off with a verbal warning, I was not fined, but now even when the road is empy and there is a red light, I do not cross the road in case a police car is around the corner or behind me, I wait until the light changes to green. If there are consequences to actions, the sensible majority will obey the rules.

  26. Geoff

‘A’ that’s why we have all these feral cunts running around doing what they want because we don’t punish them, let me sort it, I would bring back hanging and tough and long sentences, if you break the law you should lose your rights, prison shouldn’t be there to rehabilitate, it should be there to punish people.

Whatever happened to protecting the fucking victim?

  27. Geoff

The reason you smack your kid is two fold, one to let it know it did wrong and two to make you feel better, that’s why we lock these cunts up, so we feel better and safer.

  28. Pedro

    Geoff, too right!

I don’t even have any kids, but I still smack them

    The kid learn, I feel better… everyone’s a winner!

  29. Geoff

Cutting rapists bollocks off won’t stop them, blinding them would though, the dirty perverts would find it difficult to rape some one they couldn’t see, same with paedo’s, car thieves and burglars.

  30. A

pedro i don’t include crimes of rage, or specific crimes of passion in serious crimes. I mean serial rapists/murderers/paedophiles etc. Crimes which are undoubtedly because of there being something wrong with the perpetrator’s psyche.

There are big debates in the EU about the castration thing, just googled and it’s Czech Republic where sex offenders have the option of a reduced sentence if they’re castrated. It’s not just a sex thing, but castrationg does hugely reduce your sexual desire, as well as your testosterone. The debates aren’t essentially about whether it works, but whether it constitutes torture, and the potential road it could lead us down, eugenics etc, that i think could end up being a road we take. Serial sexual predators almost always have an overactive testosterone gland or whatever it’s called, their extra strong desires that they can’t control are usually biologically explainable, so if you alter the biological make up then it isn’t a problem anymore….

the concept of evil is a very backwards one that was invented due to an inability to understand anything scientific, like religion itself, and most of the things that go with it. Fairytails designed to explain the inexplicable. Now we have science that although is far from perfect, gives us a much greater understanding of things, and therefore the concept of “evil” will become obselete as it’s based on ignorance.

  31. Pedro

Finest, me and my mate nearly got nicked at the weekend because we wouldn’t pay a cabby another £60 upfront for a 15 mile journey!

4 police cars turned up despite them knowing no law had been broken!

    I hate their:

‘Now you need to listen to me’

Bollocks… I had some dippy bird telling me I’d broken a civil law… then she said morally I should have paid it up front… silly bitch…

  32. Geoff

Irish I put those cheating fuckers on the list as well, they’re no different.

I would also make people work before they got handouts. That’s another story though.

  33. finestcuts

Geoff, I believe in punishment but….what if someone was stitched up for rape or burglary and lost a body part or two even though they are later proved not guilty. Or if the government hated that person and decided to find them guilty of an offence with that kind of punishment?
Locking them away from the law abiding masses and only giving them porridge to eat is bad enough, and the law does get it wrong at times, there are innocent men in prisons and guilty men walking the streets.

  34. A

geoff i think the victim should be protected completely – offenders should be locked away and not allowed back into our society until we know that they won’t reoffend. However if we can be certain they won’t reoffend then there is no reason to lock them up.

IMO sentence lengths as such shouldn’t exist, you shouldn’t get x amount of years for this crime and y amount for another, that’s a very backwards way of doing things. Every sentence should be indefinite, until it’s known that the person will not reoffend they shouldn’t be released.

If a person is essentially a complete fuckhead, and commits a crime as a result, gets locked away, then there should never be a situation where said fuckhead has served his allotted time, so the prison system says yeah he’s a fuckhead, but he’s finished his sentence so should be allowed back into society

  35. Geoff

‘A’ boy are you naive, rapist and paedo’s aren’t sick, they’re horrible cunts, I have a huge sex drive but I don’t rape people, they rape to control and because they have no conscience, probably an over protective mum or dad.

They need a good fucking hiding, then locking up. They do half of what they do because they know if they get caught, little happens, it’s worth the risk, torture the cunts for twenty years they may think twice.

  36. Pedro

A… evil isn’t fairytale… making excuses for peoples inability to control their feelings is…

Psychology is far from a perfect science itself.

How about the reporter who cheated his way into a mental facility for a story… then couldn’t get out for 6 months?

You can make up reasons for peoples behaviour all day long… it over complicates the fact that some people are just born evil.

Why would we want to waste huge amounts of money rehabilitating these people? I can’t even imagine the ramifications to the country if your ideas were implemented… drug companies would go into over drive trying to cure problems that didn’t exist… they’d be taking chemical samples of kids and making up problems.

They can’t even be trusted with anti depressants!

  37. paul

Seventy percent of all crime is drug related fact. Many offenders repeatedly go back to prison to get early release therefore 180 pounds to feed their habit fact

  38. finestcuts

Irish, we do not have to worry about Webster clauses since no other top club would want a player who has left their previous club in such a manner, and it is a long court case meaning it could cost a player half a season or more of playing time.

  39. irishgunner

Pedro put up a link about a woman who got fined cos she got pulled over to save her kid and it went from there

  40. irishgunner

finest – yep but a lot of people seemed to think his contract was up in the summer or that he would leave and the only way he could is under the webster – isn’t there an unspoken agreement that no club will buy a player that leaves on a webster

  41. Stu

Thanks Irish. Just read it. What a fucking disgrace!

I thought Van Persie was still awaiting a contract extension. This being his 2nd to last season before it was up. I guess not.

  42. irishgunner

I reckon now that RvP will pretty much honour his contract but won’t sign a new one unless we are back winning trophies and challenging for the league?

  43. finestcuts

Yes Irish, Champions League clubs, Hull would probably sign him, if a player leaves via a Webster the player has to pay the club he annulled the contract with the equivalent in the wages he would have received so the club he joins do not owe the club he departs from a fee which is why it is so controversial.

  44. finestcuts

It was mentioned Irish, but then the catch 22 situaion of the Webster was revealed. If he had used the clause he would not have got a move to Barca. Hleb’s transfer fee paid for Nasri, Hleb got his dream move, Arsenal reluctantly agreed and we all know the biggest mistake was not extending Flamini’s contract in 2007, but now we know not to do that again.

  45. Stu

I was shocked and dismayed yesterday when a friend tld me that Ryan Fucking Giggs is odds on favourite to be named premiership player of the year!

And just heard what Ian Wrong said about Rooney. Defening that fat headed cunt! He will do anything to create a bit og controversy! (sp)

Also United fans are claiming that referees are picking on them by not giving them any decisions….like rooneys sending off etc. Surely this is all a joke.

  46. irishgunner

Giggs has been good at times for United but its all only sentimental shite IMO Vidic has been United’s best player this season, Gerrard has been have a stonker for Liverpool and perhaps should get it

  47. dennisdamenace

    Nobby’s Fucking Nuts!!

    Just for the record my top five Gooners of all time would be;

    1. Dennis Bergkamp
    2. Dennis Bergkamp
    3. Dennis Bergkamp
    4. Dennis Bergkamp
    5. Dennis Bergkamp

  48. Wrighty7

My Premiership player of the year?

    Xabi Alonso.

To play like he has this season after the way he was treated last summer has been superb.

Its a true testament to his character.

How I wish he was in an Arsenal shirt.

  49. chozzer

    there’s only 5 Dennis Bergkamps,
    5 Dennis Bergkamps,
    walking along, singing this song,
    walking in a Bergkamp wonderland.

  50. chozzer

AVOID parking tickets by leaving your windscreen wipers turned to ‘fast wipe’ whenever you leave your car parked illegally

  51. chozzer

    Bang on the money, ddm.
Has anyone with less than 3 away credits heard about their semi-final ticket application?

  52. EnemyAirships

Pretty optimistic post there my friend. Wouldn’t it just be awesome if it all came true. The only thing that would top all of that is if Spurs and City got relegated at the other end.

  53. Lovedup Loner

    paul;

Nice one mate. I really like what Ive seen of him in the past. I know Ayling gets more props, but i think the lad can make it the Arsenal…. and JET…. Frimpong… Coquelin… Merida…
