Ok let’s begin with yet another soul telling us we don’t know how lucky we are, he said we have had 10 fantastic years and one not so successful, okay so now we know Gael Clichy can’t count either.
I’m happy with what Arsene has achieved in his tenure, I’m just not crazy about the last 4 years, too much praise for anyone is not a good thing, sometimes people have to be challenged, especially when they earn £6million a year (£115,000 a week) and do what they want, especially when all can see we need a few players including the media, all the commentators and several ex Highbury legends, so being critical and challenging isn’t a crime, it’s healthy.
I remember fat Frank Lanpard swearing allegiance to Ranieri, then Maureen, the Grant, then Fat Phil and now the Dutchman, footballers praise whoever picks them, remember Beckham and Sven, then he swore allegiance to MacClaren and now his best mate is Coppello, the mind of a fickle footballer is one of knowing where your bread is buttered.
However that was just a retort to young Mr Clichy and not a pop at anyone.
Big game tomorrow and I expect nothing but a convincing win, I’ll be there doing my bit and I hope to see a great game, we have bundles of talent, maybe we should give Jay Thomas a run out, or Coquelin or even Murphy who scored a cracking goal against the Spuds midweek and looks a real prospect, and he’s been off for a year, welcome back son, you made thousands of spud haters happy with that goal!
The great news is that Cesc is back kicking a ball and should be in the team for the next round of the Champions league, once we have taken care of Roma that is, Eduardo and Theo will be back tomorrow so maybe they could feature against Roma as well.
Either way, from tomorrow we have a fun filled week of football and much to look forward to, I fly back to Blighty this morning and look forward to getting away from the cold and rain of Spain, again.
Have a great day Grovers, I’ll catch you all later.
P.S. I have a club level ticket going if anyone wants to go to the Burnley game tomorrow, it’s half price. E-mail in!

Le Grove is now smart phone compatible!

3rd?
March 7, 2009 at 09:08
Yeah I changed it after the last 0-0 ‘cos Diaby seemed to be annoying everyone, it makes a refreshing change though.
March 7, 2009 at 09:08
Up tha gooners
March 7, 2009 at 09:09
Indeed, it makes you seem wiser than before?
March 7, 2009 at 09:11
Going back to the last post, i’d be a bit pissed at AW as well if i were in Wrights position, regarding the cup final
March 7, 2009 at 09:12
good morning grovers, გამარჯობა
it’s on georgian
March 7, 2009 at 09:12
Are you guys feeling good about our prospects again, its the 1st time I have felt optimistic since before the 4-4 draw against the Spuds.
I think we’re gonna go on a run to the Champions League Final and win it this time.!!!!
YYYEESSSSSSSSSSSS!
March 7, 2009 at 09:14
Benno – yep I can understand Wrighty being pissed off. At the time we loved him as a player and I truly believed I would never see a striker as profilic as him.
Then……………along came…..
March 7, 2009 at 09:16
I always thought Clichy was far more careful with the media….looks like that has changed along with the quality of his defending.
March 7, 2009 at 09:16
Hope the Spuds and Villa play out a 0-0 draw next week!
March 7, 2009 at 09:17
Predicted lineup for today:
———–Fabianski———–
Eboue—-Djourou—–Gallas——-Gibbs
Walcott—-Diaby——-Ramsey—–Vela
——-Bendtner———-RVP
As always it’s difficult to predict Wenger’s lineup, especially in the FA cup. RVP should captain the side tonight. If Ramsey doesn’t play I guess it will be song, although I’d like to see Wilshere and Ramsey on late in the game. Ramsey in the middle and Wilshere on for Theo.
Maybe Sagna will come on for Walcott pushing Eboue into Wenger’s favoured position for him. Eboue should be given the right back slot today to rest Sagna and considering both Arshavin and Walcott will be available (hopefully no more injuries to Walcott)for our next EPL game, Eboue should be given 90 minutes today, and come on as a sub against Roma.
March 7, 2009 at 09:18
Goonerman, if Cesc, Arshavin, RvP and Nasri have an injury free 2 months, then the CL final could be a real possibility.
March 7, 2009 at 09:18
I don’t think any of Arsenal’s managers can beat the wisdom of Chapman Pedro, but hey if it does it’s just an added bonus for me.
March 7, 2009 at 09:18
Does anyone have any hard news on Rosicky?
March 7, 2009 at 09:20
finest, the match is tomorrow
March 7, 2009 at 09:21
PDT – Absolutely; I think we soon will have ready AW’s 4th Arsenal Championship team.
March 7, 2009 at 09:21
Considery Row sicky has been out for longer than Eduardo, I wouldn’t expect him to play a significant part until the CL qualifiers. Yes, I still cling onto the hope we’ll qualify.
March 7, 2009 at 09:22
Pardon me tomorrow PDT, tomorrow’s lineup!
March 7, 2009 at 09:24
PDT:i want tha spuds 2 do us a favour and beat villa 1 nil bentley 2 score ha ha that would make me so happy
March 7, 2009 at 09:28
Oh an Eduardo, I am not sure whether Wenger will start him with RVP, if he does, that would be a nice bonus.
Eduardo off, Nasri on, Vela up front with RVP and Walcott off, Sagna on, Eboue pushed up to right wing.
But will Wenger make such quality subs in an FA cup match?
March 7, 2009 at 09:29
Yes how strange, we need the Spuds to win for once…
March 7, 2009 at 09:37
Morning All.
Today is my birthday, which means I am all sweetness and light. So, I think Song will feature tomorrow and show us what AW sees in him
March 7, 2009 at 09:38
Have a good one Raddy, have fun blowing out the candles!
March 7, 2009 at 09:40
Happy bday Raddy hope u get a nice 8 nil present 2morrow.
March 7, 2009 at 09:42
Happy Bday Raddy, Song for Cb tomorrow next to Djourou, not wanting to risk Gallas till the Roma game?
March 7, 2009 at 09:47
Tillykke med Fødselsdagen, Raddy.
Song at CB with the whole game in front of him would be ok.
March 7, 2009 at 09:48
How much is a season ticket at the emirates???
March 7, 2009 at 09:51
Put gibbs and Eboue at left and right back which will make up for the lack of pace in the center. Merida left mid, Wilshere right mid Diaby and Ramsey in the middle, Bendtner and Arshavin up top. Eduardo, Theo and Vela too come off the bench.
March 7, 2009 at 09:53
Looking something like this:
——-Fabianksi——–
Eboue–Song–Djourou–Gibbs
LJW—Diaby—Ramsey—Merida
——-NPB—-Arshavin——
March 7, 2009 at 09:53
I would have Arshavin in the side. He can’t play on Wednesday but needs as many games as he can get. He is getting better game by game and wouldn’t let us down. He was only ineligible for the Cardiff game because it was a replay and he wasn’t registered before the first game.
March 7, 2009 at 09:54
With Arshavin playing more of a DB10 role
March 7, 2009 at 10:00
Murphy has not been out for a year – its more like 3 months!!
March 7, 2009 at 10:00
how can anyone praise a manager who hasn’t won anything in four seasons, and has sold the most integral players and not replaced them with anything of immediate quality, instad preffereing to wait on young talent working through, then when it does they are inevitably sold. Wenger isn’t a great manager more like an amazing salesman, and I would be so annoyed paying my thousand pounds for a season ticket to watch what is, in all effect compared to arsenal teams of years gone by, nothing more than a reserve team.
March 7, 2009 at 10:04
Morning Grovers and a Happy Birthday to you Big Raddy.
I think the game tomorrow will be a good one, I expect Arshavin to play and Theo will get some action. Eduardo will also feature. One the negative side I can see a starting line up consisting of Eboue in RM and Song in CM. I dont think we can take any risks with the game tomorrow and we really need to have the game wrapped up by half time.
March 7, 2009 at 10:11
Happy Birthday Raddy!
I shall raise a cyber peroni to you!
March 7, 2009 at 10:13
Thanks Boys
March 7, 2009 at 10:14
Happy birthday big raddy and remember to warn the fire brigade before starting such a big fire!!!
March 7, 2009 at 10:16
Good Morning All,
Happy Birthday Raddy,
Arsenalised – I’d be happier with 1-0 spurs with a Hangontothewhore own goal whilst giving himself mild concussion after a clash of heads with bentley which sees him out for the rest of the season and bentley loses the plot floors the ref and is banned for life.
But – like the murphys – i’m not bitter!
March 7, 2009 at 10:16
Fucking Arsenal… there is no way of contacting them on a saturday… despite them being open… how fucking irritating.
March 7, 2009 at 10:27
Happy birthday Raddy!!
March 7, 2009 at 10:31
GM !! Where have you been?
March 7, 2009 at 10:31
Hiding
March 7, 2009 at 10:33
From?
March 7, 2009 at 10:34
Just having a break. Legrove was taking over my life so i had some counselling
March 7, 2009 at 10:35
Someone (no names) was annoying me. So I had a break. I feel better now. And much better about our team!
March 7, 2009 at 10:44
GM, just let it happen… there is nothing wrong with letting the place takeover!
So, what has you excited about the team?
March 7, 2009 at 10:44
Got fucking dumped last night and feel like shit and no arsenal to make my day better crap satarday really.
March 7, 2009 at 10:47
Have agood one Raddy, maybe the boys can give you a belated present tomorrow!
Surely he must rest Denilson tomorrow as he will be vital on Weds. At least De Rossi is out. Song and Diaby in the middle, Vela and Arshavin wide, RvP and Bendtner up top, with EE, Gallas, Djourou and Gibbs at the back.
Then Walcott and Edu can get a run and maybe Nasri, Ramsey or Denilson can come on if needed/for a jog depending on the game situ.
March 7, 2009 at 10:48
Oh Bless Arsenalised.
Probably a lucky escape.
Good idea GM. But good to have you back
March 7, 2009 at 10:48
Arsenalised, women are like buses mate, there will always be another one along in a minute and eventually you get one going in the right direction! Hopefully all the way! lol
March 7, 2009 at 10:52
Thanks. I think the team is coming together. we’re not world beaters but I think we’re finally going in the right direction. And we’ve got important players coming back.
March 7, 2009 at 10:54
My God we are beating fiji in tha sevens world cup 21-7 3 min 2 go
March 7, 2009 at 10:55
do Arsenal have a sevens side?
March 7, 2009 at 10:57
GM, yeah a lot of games we do, if you discount EE, SOng and a couple of others being on the pitch!
March 7, 2009 at 10:58

March 7, 2009 at 11:06
Whoops, sorry Arsenalised, did not realise you had been on such a long journey!
March 7, 2009 at 11:10
Arsenalised, sorry to hear about that mate.
There’s always another bird ready to take her place… and then you’ll wonder why you were with the last one!
March 7, 2009 at 11:10
Denilson:i must attend tha world cup she probably saved me alot of money i hear cape town is quite expensive plus tha girl didnt even like football
March 7, 2009 at 11:12
Yeah arsenalized, Cape Town is a bit more expensive than J’Burg but it’s also a bit classier.
Anyways, karibu this side.
March 7, 2009 at 11:15
Arsenalised. I know tis won’t help but….
I was on a bus for 23 years thinking it was the best bus in the world, and that my bus having been regularly serviced, would support me for the rest of my days. Sadly, it wasn’t to be. But …. 6 months later a new bus came along, newer, shinier, better bodywork and without the quirks that a bus develops when you drive it for so long ! I couldn’t be happier.
March 7, 2009 at 11:16
Morning all
Happy Birthday Raddy.
Pedro – is it gonna be an early start at the S+B tmoro?
March 7, 2009 at 11:17

What to do on a saturday night with no footy and no money…boring as
March 7, 2009 at 12:08
Morning all! My birthday today (unfortunately) and what could be a better present than Coventry dumping the Chavs out of the cup and us smashing Burnley tomorrow! Here’s to dreaming……
March 7, 2009 at 12:09
i must say clichy has been very disapointing this season, the rest of the defenders have been doing well but clichy continues to make defensive mistakes, sagna has not been as good as last season going forward but defensively he always looks solid
March 7, 2009 at 12:09
Going back to the Rugby Sevens arsenalised, if we did have a team playing, maybe we would finally have a decent role for Eboue; give him the funny shaped ball and tell him to run for the try line. I think even Pinky could give that a go. Which players would make up the Seven ? Perky, I guess…but who else ?
March 7, 2009 at 12:10
Franchise, got your e-mail… I’ve sent you details!
Arsenalised, don’t stay in just because your bird is in your regular venue!
Get out there, get on it and get some numbers… it always makes you feel better! Nothing worse than mopping on your own!
Peaches, I reckon 1130… maybe 12? Btw, I didn’t ignore your e-mail the other day… I missed it! It went into my spam filter!
March 7, 2009 at 12:20
TAIG Are you stealing my birthday ? Maybe we are secret twins like Arnie Schwatz and Danny de Vito !
Happy Birthday.
March 7, 2009 at 12:25
North bank:eboue would just bring his stupidity and drop the ball just b4 he gets to the try line.@Pedro:i know ma self,i will drink silly and try 2 get her back and embarassing my self in tha process i’ll turn up there after 2 wks ha ha i think thats enough time.
March 7, 2009 at 12:29
TAIG, Happy Birthday!
Arsenalised, I sacked my bird a few weeks ago… the worst thing to do is text her or call when you’re hammered.
The best tactic is to not call or text her at all… it gives her time to miss you and appreciate what she had. Texting and calling just alienates you further… play the game my friend!
March 7, 2009 at 12:31
TAIG:happy bday.
March 7, 2009 at 12:38
Arsenalised Pedro has the game spot on, dont call or text.
March 7, 2009 at 12:38
must dash have a good one guys
March 7, 2009 at 12:43
Pedro:looks like u tha man playa,am definately nt callin or texting am just tryin to avoid a face 2 face encounter.
March 7, 2009 at 12:47
Have a good one lads and lasses!
Off to play away in Guildford, I might be getting on but I reckon I could still give Song a run for his money at CB!
March 7, 2009 at 12:50
TAIG Happy Birthday to you too x
Boys – to text or not to text thats the question!!!
My daughter’s ex (both 24) turned up last night to show her his new car – new car versus d’you want to have dinner with me?????? He left with nothing – nice try though

March 7, 2009 at 13:05
Thanks Kelsey. Off to town, to spend some birthday cash.
Ciao
March 7, 2009 at 13:07

Thinking you’re the drivers is usually the first problem
March 7, 2009 at 13:24
Arsenalised go out and show her your not bothered just try to be normal that messes with them big time then just flirt with anything with a pulse then if poss chat to the girl she hates the most or the girl she has hinted you fancy in the past works like a dream she will either see the error of her ways or you will have just pissed her off win win treat em mean keep em keen
March 7, 2009 at 13:29

March 7, 2009 at 13:29
nick, the best mate’s usually a good one :p that riles them up proper good
March 7, 2009 at 13:33
once you hit the best mate its over think he half wants her back best mate is the last resort and is best played over the long game that’s just to be nasty revenge served cold and all that
March 7, 2009 at 13:36
Peaches, are you looking for a spare?
March 7, 2009 at 13:37
and these should be done carefully because she could reverse all this on you so be prepared to take what you give or just forget about it go out get a better model and rub her nose in it that’s the healthiest way to do it and the test drives are bloody good fun
March 7, 2009 at 13:39
Arsenalised, just go out and enjoy yourself!
This is turning into a break up advice blog! haha!
Peaches, you daughters ex didn’t do himself any favours there did he? Haha!

March 7, 2009 at 14:13
Working on a Saturday? That is harsh!
March 7, 2009 at 14:15
No reason to criticise clichy.
He’s come out and said he wants to stay at the club etc, and everything he said was the sort of loyalty we love.
March 7, 2009 at 14:16
James, it wasn’t a criticism… it was a correction.
March 7, 2009 at 14:29
Pedro no rest for the wicked
Chavski looked well on top alex looked like the alex of psv which is bad news.
March 7, 2009 at 14:47
Hello everyone, Happy B’day Raddy and taig
March 7, 2009 at 14:56
And when oh when will the Football powers that be, take action against Real Madrid and Barca.
Right I am really bored, what would be your best Arsenal 11 if everyone was fit (Including Loaners). I would like to see this
Fabianski
Sagna, Djourou, Gallas, Clichy
Walcott, Cesc, Denilson, Nasri
Arshavin
RVP
Bench
Almunia, Rosicky, Eduardo, Adebayor, Toure, Senderos, Bendtner
March 7, 2009 at 14:59
As the players return from long term injuries(Cesc and Tomas are apparently due to return within the same time frame according to Arsenal.com)the mood could suddenly lift around the club.I strongly believe that we are one central midfielder away from being a top team and there is no better manager in my opinion to try to guide as to the success our fans are craving.Cesc shares this opinion judging by what he said yesterday. It was the biggest mistake of Wenger’s career at Arsenal not to reinforce our central midfield and Iam geniunely worried that any success this club achieves this year will persuade Arsene to believe that what we have in central midfield is good enough.I believe every manager has made and will make mistakes(look at how Ferguson bought Lauren Blanc and sold Yaap Stamp)so Iam a little less negative than some about our club’s prospects.
March 7, 2009 at 15:02
Come on sunderland you northen monkeys spank the spuds
March 7, 2009 at 15:05
PatheGooner it is somewhat predictable that the blinkered Sepp Blatter and the even more irrating glove puppet Platini fail to mention any of the disgraceful and blatant tapping up of English players by Real Madrid and Barcelona and prefer to concentrate on the damage to the game that English dominance is having.Funny how they weren’t bothered when other Countries dominated the European scene.Platini is the biggest hypocryte out there as he now moans about the power of the English game attracting foreign players but he plied his trade for Juventus, cunt.
March 7, 2009 at 15:08
Ha ha fucking spuds 1 nil down
March 7, 2009 at 15:12
WE invented the game so its only fair we have the best league look at Italy that had the best league and cocked it up because they were corrupt fuckers and he played there, who cares what that prick thinks anyway hes only worried the FA will get its power back and he wont have a job
March 7, 2009 at 15:13
17 mil 4 bent wat a twat and waste of money.arsene would have bought 3 better kids with that stash.
March 7, 2009 at 15:16
i would like us to try a new formation to accommodate all the best players
FAB
Sagna Gallas clichy
Denilson
Walcott FAB4 Nasri Rosicky
Arshavin
Eddie
March 7, 2009 at 15:24
Afternoon all and happy birthday to the birthday boys. I read through the comments and only one person hadn’t read the blog properly, James, don’t tell me not to criticise someone I haven’t, try reading the post first.
Clichy has the same problem you appear to, he gets his facts wrong.
March 7, 2009 at 15:26
Afternoon Geoff sunning yourself?
March 7, 2009 at 15:27

March 7, 2009 at 16:08
Kelsey It’s been raining since September, but thanks for the compliment mate!
March 7, 2009 at 16:10
Kelsey, thats the minimum I was saying there, i think the warmest so far this summer was 41 but we’ve been over 35 deg pretty regularly recently, too bloody warm sometimes!! still beats the cold, dark winter of the uk tho

March 7, 2009 at 16:19
I actually want the Spuds to win today, so they carry through some confidence and form into their game against Villa next week
March 7, 2009 at 16:20
na fuck em they will need the win even more now next week
March 7, 2009 at 16:21
Funny since i started blogging on le-grove a spud has never commented here wrighty7 had one who was a regular bt fucked off after a while.a spud would get mauled on here.
March 7, 2009 at 16:21
Would you rather the Spuds get relegated or beat Villa next weekend?
March 7, 2009 at 16:22
I agree nick fuck em
March 7, 2009 at 16:24
thats a real conundrum i go with spuds relegated villa will drop more points anyway and if we dont make cl this year next we will but spuds will be in the championship for a nice few years
March 7, 2009 at 16:25
Pat:thats a hard one,i’ll pick a win against villa.
March 7, 2009 at 16:27
It is a hard one. despite the ribbing and shit that we could give any Spud we know, I think I would miss the games every season if they got relegated. We win more than we lose/draw so i would plump for the Spuds win over Villa.
I dont want CL qualification to go down to the last weekend. I want to seal it as soon as possible
March 7, 2009 at 16:29
If we do it soon villas heads will go down and they will fuck off back to mid table where they belong
March 7, 2009 at 16:30
When asked about his favourite European teams, Adebayor said: “Barcelona make me dream but I also like Real Madrid and Milan, who have very good players.”

Heeheeheeheeheehee!!!

I think we can pip the fools for 3rd
March 7, 2009 at 16:36
Hey nick!
Just been dead busy fella. Was about Thursday when we beat the spuds tho!
Geoff; Agree about giving run outs to Coquelin and JET. Frimpong and the 2 CBs look good prospects to me too.
March 7, 2009 at 16:36
Spuds to be binned all day long for me too!
March 7, 2009 at 16:37
Manure beats fools
we beat fools
just 3 points
March 7, 2009 at 16:41
We have to be wary of Vucinic when we play Roma. That guy could score from anywhere and he just scored after coming on
March 7, 2009 at 16:42

March 7, 2009 at 16:57
Fucking keane
March 7, 2009 at 16:59
Can anyone inform me how THFC get away with spending the national debt of a medium sized European country and still produce very average football without coming in for the criticsm us boys get(probrably because the likes of Harry Harris,Les Ferdinand and Teddy Sheringham can get jobs in the media without a brain cell to share between them, whilst our spending resembles Silus Milner’s on a poor day. They have lashed out millions on Bale,Hutton,Palascious,Modric,Pavchenko and Corluka to name but a few in the last year, where does all their dough come from?….answer Jo Lewis who bankrolls them year in year out.
Their fans would actually have the front to have a go at us if we didn’t qualify for the CL when those jokers haven’t appeared in it since it’s introduction.
Unfortunately their 4-0 win against ‘boro will probrably keep them up but I don’t think there has been a team in the history of the Premiership who has spent so much money and performed so badly. These facts should be of some consolation to those fans who support Arsenal but feel that things are going poorly as in you can always say to yourself”atleast my Dd didn’t take me to watch that shower of shit when I was 8″.
March 7, 2009 at 17:01
Arsenalised Kenya sounds fantastic mate! One day.
Loved up we should play any of them rather than Song, all day long.
March 7, 2009 at 17:06
lol coquelin and frimpong are very good prospects, but lets see if they can do it in the reserves before even talking about giving them a run out in the first team!
They’re exceptional for the youths, but there’s a big step up from the youths to the reserves, and a bigger one from the reserves to the first team.
To say they should play ahead of song is absolutely ridiculous – at reserve level, a much higher level than youths, song is fantastic!
March 7, 2009 at 17:07
and JET is considered too tactically retarded to play centre mid for the youths, he’s a long way away from being able to play there for the first team!
March 7, 2009 at 17:15
Arsenalised;the reason that Spurs fans don’t usually comment on Blogs like this is that their dim, blinkered, ignorant and often menacing views would be about as informative and enlghtening as an evening with Bernard Manning.I have tried to engage in a reasoned debate with many of their fans on the net but usually it ends up with the usual intelligent stuff like “Wenger’s a paedophile”,which is strange considering he has a top looking Mrs,or threats of violence which is all very brave on a computer but having seen their mob attacking women, children and old men outside the away end at WHL I tend to leave them to stew in their own vile hatred and encourage them to maybe get all bleary eyed over a Pathe News clip of their “Glory Years”,whilst listening to Chas and Dave.I need to check my facts but I have a feeling their “Glory years”consisted of a double and a European Cup and considering the achievements of clubs like Nottm Forrest and Villa in the 80’s I would find it all a bit embarrassing to hark on about something that happanned 57 yeras ago….oh well it gives Garth Crooks something to get bleary eyed about when he introduces another overpriced purchase down at “The Lane” when he asks “do you think Spurs will ever receate those Glory Years”…..Arsene did it in his first full year in charge by the way.
March 7, 2009 at 17:18
A I’ve seen them in the reserves and they all look good.
March 7, 2009 at 17:25
i think couquin should play in carling cup games to young to go on loan, but i dont think he will be playing first team for while though
March 7, 2009 at 17:30
cmon fulham!!!
manure are playing o´shea, fletcher, anderson and park
fulham has a good chance
March 7, 2009 at 17:37
A; Sooo JET is more tactically inept than Song?
I aint saying JET, Coq or Frimpong are ready NOW to start, but next season, Carling Cup and 1st team bench shouldnt be too far off, or perhaps a loan to a Prem or Champ league team…
March 7, 2009 at 17:40
George
The spuds spending to (lack of) success ration is hilarious, yet the media let them off the hook and even though they are flirting with relegation, been knocked out of all the cups and have yet again spunked millions in january, will be given gushing media reports like the one in the mail the other day about magic Arry.
March 7, 2009 at 17:41
Typical that fulham defend like schoolboys when they play against united
March 7, 2009 at 17:46
yeah he is loner, obviously he is – he’s too tactically inept to play for the youths, whereas song isn’t tactically poor when playing for the reserves. I agree about carling cup.
Geoff coquelin has only played once i think centre mid for the reserves, maybe twice, though he is quality at right back. frimpong and JET have only played two or three times for the reserves, and looked pretty poor, though to be fair they only play when all the decent players are out, and the team i think has lost every game when they’ve played and that’s been the case, and been crap as a whole, so they havn’t got a fair go.
March 7, 2009 at 17:48
though JET, frimpong, and coquelin aren’t ready yet to be loaned to a prem or champs league team. They’re a similar level to henri lansbury, they’ll go on loan to league 1 or the championship at some point next season i’d expect
March 7, 2009 at 17:51
omg….what a goal by Tevez
what a cracker
manure are in the semis
March 7, 2009 at 17:52
A; You’re probably right, but it all depends on the rate of development, as well. They mioght improve dramamtically or level out… Who knows..?
But JET will be top!!!
March 7, 2009 at 17:52
Laters anyways
March 7, 2009 at 18:01
Lovedup Loner;I refuse to buy the Mail out of principle as their anti Arsenal pro Manchester United reporting of events is insulting to a reasonable man’s intelligence. They used to have a guy called in Ian McGary working there who now works at the Sun who hasn’t written a positive article in his life about Arsenal;the day after we won the double he ran a story about Vieira leaving(again)rather than bring himself to congratulate us in our achievent.Cunt.
There are various people out there who cannot wait to put us down;Custis at the Sun is one but I tend to avoid their drivel and read Mckalveni(incorrectly spelt probrably)and Henry Winter who give a balanced view.
As for the TV and radio Hansen is remarkably accurate in his assesment of the most important features of a game and as for Clive Tydlsley and Richard Keys;Iam surprised that they can talk with Sir Alex’s cockin their mouths.
One thing that bothers me about the media is the things they don’t report for fear of annoying the wrong person ie
Why doesn’t Alex Ferguson talk to the BBC?
Answer;because Panaroma(probrably with the guiding hand of Mcmania and Macmanus)reported the fact that at an AGM at Old Trafford someone questioned the fee paid to Alex Ferguson’s son’s agency(£2.1 million on a £4.5 million transfer)for Machimo Tahibi. This extraodinary high charge to the club by the son of the manager for a shit keeper that played 3 games obviously raised a few eyebrows.
My point is that George Graham got sacked for lining his own pockets with Arsenal’s funds, quite correctly, why is it then that noone is allowed to mention the saga surrounding Alex Ferguson’s son?
Answer because Alex will then refuse to talk to them.
March 7, 2009 at 18:27
anyone watching manu?
wow what i’d give for arsenal to be finish like they do ..rooney tevez ..wow!
March 7, 2009 at 18:30
why the hell do teams roll over for United. Fulham were the better team until that shit goal they conceded.
I cant fucking stand United. Hope Inter batters them or scores in stoppage time, 2nd leg, to make it 1-1
March 7, 2009 at 18:30
line up for sunday, my prediction:
Bendtner
Arshavin
Nasri Denilson Ramsey Theo
Gibbs Djourou Gallas Sagna
Fabianski
subs: Eduardo, Vela, Clichy, Bischoff, RvP, Mannone
What do you think?
March 7, 2009 at 18:31
I am watching Man Ure today with a bit of frustration.
When you look at big four this season we have made it too easy for them. This Season was there for the taking but……
Chavski got it wrong with Scolari. Correction, a bunch of ego filled arseholes did not like playing under him and Chavski went with Player Power.
Benitez bottled it and then sold Keane just because it was not his call, and they now suddenly rely on three players, Carragher, Gerrard and Torres, and they have struggled when any of those three are injured. Infighting and egos have killed them. That Rant will go down with Keegans.
And Wenger did not use the financial Resources available to him and made some wrong tactical and line-up calls early on.
I honestly believe if we had bought in two more class players (A CM and Arshavin) last summer, we would be right in the mix now. In fact I think we would be top.
Ferguson must be laughing his tits off at how easy three clubs have made his life.
But if we can get past Burnley tomorrow, and then Hull, I think with players coming back we will give either Chavski or Man Ure a run for their money in the semi-final if drawn against them.
We cant let them win all four.
March 7, 2009 at 18:31
“anyone watching Manchester United?”
yeah probrably half of Surrey wearing replica kits whilst boring eveyone senseless about “how they have been a Man Utd fan all their life”whilst unfortunately never quite able to get there.Glory riding pricks.
March 7, 2009 at 18:34
funny, all the strikers on my bench are left footed…
I was thinking of the selection problem we will have once these guys are fit. These players that haven’t taken their chance in their stead will have trouble making the subs bench, let alone getting minutes.
March 7, 2009 at 18:37
totally agree Pathegooner Iam convinced that we are 1 central midfielder away from being geniune title contenders as we have shown that we can match anyone on our day and with the players returning from injury the future is brighter than it was.
We all saw that with a highly charged strong driving force in the middle of the park(which Diaby was against Roma)we can be a formidable outfit.Song does not and will never provide the drive required to win big trophies so bring on a great central midfielder in the summer to compliment Cesc and I’ll put money on us winning the Premiership for the first time in 5 years.
March 7, 2009 at 18:38
Oh and whilst I am at it, people that moan about Arsene not buying English should look at Chavski this week.
I think it is about mentality.
When was the last time Arsenal Players were on the front page of the press for incidents involving nightclubs and booze.
Yet you can probably go through the entire England best 11 and they have all fallen foul of the media at some point,
Ashley Cole proved this week what a total cock he is. He gets caught playing away from home, trys to get some Chavski Heavies to try and save him by stealing the Camera, and then moans for being arrested for having a go at the press/police outside again for being caught with his trousers down. He is a fucking disgrace.
March 7, 2009 at 18:42
I’ve never been at an Arsenal game, but I’m off to college next year and I plan to study abroad. London, here I come!
4-2-3-1
Fabianski
Sagna JD Gallas Clichy
____Song____Denilson__
Theo____Diaby_____Arshavin
_______Nik_______
We played a 4-2-3-1 against Cardiff. Eduardo and Nasri to come on in the 2nd half to get a little warmup before Roma.
Is Diaby injured, btw? And how long is TOure out?
March 7, 2009 at 18:48
diaby is fine, toure should be back tuesday. I think gibbs will keep his spot for the fa cup. Maybe Eboue for sagna, i dunno
March 7, 2009 at 18:48
PatheGooner someone in the Standard a couple of months ago tried to correct the theory that “Arsene doesn’t give the English youngsters a chance”which was a popularist, lazy theory produced in The Mail etc.
We give many English youngsters a chance in the Under 18′S,21’s and reserves and many represent their country at those levels.What we don’t do is the following because of financial constraints;
Rooney £28 million
Ferdinand £28 million
Carrick £20 million
Hargreaves £25 million.
So I for one will not be fooled by pricks like Steve Coppell(who still harbours a grudge re the 1979 final!)about how to run our club.
March 7, 2009 at 18:48
Both of Inter’s CBs came off injured today.
Pizarro will certainly miss the 2nd leg against us as will Cassetti, Tonetto, and Perrotta.
Francesco Totti, Juan and Simone Loria are also major doubts in defence for that match.
March 7, 2009 at 18:49
Guys there is still a ticket available for tomorrow
March 7, 2009 at 18:50
I know George
Song really frustrates me. I feel that some people just make excuses for him as he is an Arsenal Player. I just cant see how people rate him but I guess opinions are opinions. I always used to like Wiltord whilst most did not like him.
But Song is simply not good enough and that midfield role is so pivotal to the overall effectiveness of the team, that when he plays he kills off the class of those around him.
They are carrying him and it kills us.
March 7, 2009 at 18:51
ptg, do you think he could be a good CB? He looked much better than Djourou in our last game.
March 7, 2009 at 18:53
Pat I hope you mean Roma’s as that will be the sort of good news we are after.
March 7, 2009 at 18:56
Just like Eboue,Song is being played out of his natural position,as Song isn’t a bad centre back and it is only Arsene’s fault that we are faced with watching these two numpties in the midfield regularly.
March 7, 2009 at 18:56
George, its from this site:
http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/mar7m.html
Btw, our youth team was down 2-0 against Chelsea and we won 3-4, away.
March 7, 2009 at 18:58
Geroge, I actually like the runs and Eboue’s movement in the middle. If he improves his passing/shooting(a lot), he could become a good midfielder. I think its all down to him and how hard he practices. As of right now, though, he’s best at RB
March 7, 2009 at 18:58
Pat
Yes I do, I think he could be an effective Squad member at CB and this makes me wonder why the fuck we bought Silvestre. He looked good there at the tail end of last season and looked good last week when he had to go there when Toure was Injured
It is the same as Eboue. He is a fucking waste of space on the RW, but is a great RB.
Its ok living of this two playing in CM and RM due to a really bad injury situation, but banking on them in those positions all season is crazy.
March 7, 2009 at 18:58
Thanks Pat just read it but your original comment said”both Inter’s cb are out…”that’s why I commented.Good news anyway and let’s hope Totti is out as he is truelly World class.
March 7, 2009 at 19:05
Pat’we have all seen glipses of how effective Eboue can be(Tottenham away for 15 minutes he was very good)but he is a thick wanker who can’t shoot and often is too thick to know what the best opttion is with the ball,I don’t think we will see much more of him at right midfield as Rosicky and Walcott will hopefully be back soon.He can then slot back to reserve right back and maybe if he’s lucky the crowd will start to sing his name again to the tune of Teqila when he fills in admirably at right back(that seems a long time ago that I was singing his name outside a bar in Paris when he helped us to the final and played very well….at right back)
March 7, 2009 at 19:12
United look unstoppable
March 7, 2009 at 19:14
patthegooner hello,
remember me stating eboue would be better off at harlequins.
You are basically right,Man u have been handed the title on a plate, and because we have not invested correctly last summer we have the likes of eboue and song to contend with.ramsey got a jolt in the first game at cardiff, wilshere it appears has been designated to the reserves for this season, vela is work in progress, though personally i have my doubts about him,and even theo has a way to go.Then add in the worst blunder of the summer by tripling ade’s wages, who thinks he can walk on water, and bedntner is still young, but will he wait.that leaves eduardo as our only true clinical finisher.rv is not an out an out striker and the buying or arshavin,i am sure was as a safegaurd replacement for rosicky.if we can invest about 17million in january why didn’t we do it in the summer.A lot of the blame lies with wenger as his way and his way only is accepted by the board.his gamble on youth has failed, and he should just say he got it wrong and change his policy.
March 7, 2009 at 19:19
i wouldnt get too scared over man utd’s win tonight because fulham were absolutely dreadful defensively!!! really really shite!!! i dont understand why teams lie down for them.
March 7, 2009 at 19:33
I know Kelsey, Eboue would be a pretty effective Rugby Player. His runs even mirror those of the egg shaped ball picking a line through the opposition. I guess they dont play it in the Ivory Coast though.
I would love him down at the Ospreys, I think he could play Outside Center, he would be a great 13.
March 7, 2009 at 19:36
Ticket now sold
March 7, 2009 at 19:44
George;
Like the cut of your jibb fella! Agree with all that mate!
March 7, 2009 at 19:46
Roy Hodgson lost the game tonite before a ball had been kicked IMO. In his program notes he was waxing lyrical about how Fulham were playing the best team in the world..yadda yadda…
Now thats really the attitude to take into a game innit? Yeh say all that AFTER, but before? Why not just roll over and get your tummy tickled?
March 7, 2009 at 19:47
Fact is, United looked all over the place defensively in the 1st half, yet Fulham werent up for it and let em off…
Oh well, when they play the chavs in the semis, we’ll have to beat one or the other in the final!
March 7, 2009 at 19:52
Hate Eboue, am soooo gutted I am saying that about an Arsenal player… But Ive just got no time for him any more… The miss against Roma was bad enough, but his reaction to it… Hands on hips, eyes skywards lookin all forlorn… while the effin game was goin on around him FFS!
Thats the last time Im even goin on about him, soooooo bored of discussin it.
March 7, 2009 at 19:56
Jeeeeez… Was it sumfin I said?
March 7, 2009 at 19:57
I have one spare ticket for tomorrrow too guys!
March 7, 2009 at 20:05
Gibbs is definately playing tomorrow
March 7, 2009 at 20:10
Another good win for our under 18s 4-3 against the chavs
March 7, 2009 at 20:13
Bouldy’s doing well with the kids. He’s been a coach for 8 years! That really surprised me, when I found out. He’s gotta be looking to step up to the 1st team soon.
OMFG! Real madrid play an effin Lennie Kravitz toon when they score! Cheesy fucksticks!
March 7, 2009 at 20:29
Wow! Real are shite, no wonder Liverpool beat em!
Huntelaar is sooooo slow, Bendtner’s got more natural talent than him and will be a far better player IMO.
Ooh contreversial!
March 7, 2009 at 20:36
Atletico hit the post I think
March 8, 2009 at 00:47
I would start this team against Burnley.
………………..Fab………………..
Sagna……..Djourou……Gallas……Gibbs
………..Song…….Diaby……………
.Nick B………..Arshavin………..Vela
…………….RVP…………………….
I would rest Nasri, Clichy and Denilson…so they would be fresh and ready for Roma.
If we are winning comfortably, I would sub Sagna, Nick B and RVP/Diaby. So these guys would be ready for Roma as well.
March 8, 2009 at 00:58
We know that Wenger wont start Vela in the Roma game so he might as well play a full game…also Arshavin should play the whole game cause he cant play agaist Roma, we need Nasri with the same energy levels he had against Roma in the first leg so thats why I dont play him, same for Denilson, we need Denilson fresh as well because he “owned” them the last time.
Walcott can come on for Nick B, Eboue for Sagna and Ramsey/somebody else for Diaby.
March 8, 2009 at 01:28
we never need denilsong
March 8, 2009 at 08:25
Fabianski,Sagna,Djorou,Gallas,Gibbs,Denilson,Diaby,Nic,Arshavin
rshavin,Nasri eduardo :subs, Song,RVP,Vela,Eboue,Ramsey.
Not my team but the one i expect to play
March 8, 2009 at 08:26
Pizzaro injured for Roma.
March 8, 2009 at 08:26
Oh Good Morning everyone.
I feel a Burnley battering coming on.
March 8, 2009 at 08:38
Morning all,
I hope Walcott plays some part today and comes through some tough challenges to get his confidence up and running again.
March 8, 2009 at 08:40
Burnley will get fucked today big time, morning all, I woke up in England and the sun is shining!
March 8, 2009 at 08:50
