Pretty football but no cutting edge and Bentley is a gooner!

by & filed under Uncategorized.

So Danny boy, no, not Fizman but Murphy, says we look good but have no finisher, no experience and we have lost the fear factor we had when Wenger believed in 29 year olds.

He also says we have missed Fabregas and Adebayor, mmm, not sure I would call Ade a finisher, but he did get over 30 last season and we can’t score now, so maybe we do need him back, but I still rate Robin, he could have had a hatrick in each of his last 3 games, so I think it’s just down to bad luck, and don’t forget we still have Eduardo to return.

I would like to see the team that played Fulham again, because I think the real problem is he hasn’t played the same team too often, players like Vela never get enough time and if they aren’t playing all they do is warm the bench, it’s not like they are playing in the reserves, so when they finally get their chance, they aren’t match fit, so I would rather see Vela, Ramsey and Wilshere trying and failing than Song again this season.

Sagna and Clichy are both having a torrid time so I would rest them and play Gibbs and Eboue, both are able cover, in fact I would go so far as to say at this moment in time both are playing better.

Arshavin looks like he is going to be a great player, I like his flicks and deft passes, it will not be long before he starts banging them in for us, it would be good if he would start this week though, we could do with picking up a few points and seeing a few of his trademark goals.

Poor old Dave...

A special mention to ‘I’ve always been a spud’ David Bentley, David, you made my day, you made me feel like Superman when you scuffed your penalty and let Man United win the cup we never put the first team in, so you have single handedly blown European football for Spurs next season, well done son, you’ve done every gooner proud, so much so, we still think you’re a gooner and you did it on purpose!

If the spuds didn’t like you much before, you can be sure they’ll hate you know, you have outdone Sol Campbell by being hated by both sides of north London at the same time, at least he was only hated by one side at a time.

Quiet day today but West Brom are next up and hopefully that will lift our spirits again, Aston Villa did us a favour so no blood there and 6 points is do-able, they have a tough run ahead and we have an easy one, well certainly an easier one, it’s up to us again, so Arsene, have faith in the team you played aganst Fulham, and only bring in the injured players as they come back.

No more Perky. Have a great day Grovers, we have been given another chance, let’s hope we take it.

Stu – ha ha god bless my cats if they can walk from my house into limerick city lol although a madra beag did wander into our yard today and ran after the cats but my cats are afraid of no-one :D

  2. Stu

Well they mus not be yours then because these cats are afraid of me. FACT!!!

Different story with the dog tho because they just look at him while he barks! They arent so tough when we catch them tho!

  3. Stu

    A Boxer.

I will continue to attack (more like attempt to) them until they learn their place.

They are sperading like fire. There was none a few months ago until a new family moved in and since then they have been terrorising my dog and i gotta help him out like!

Im totally innocent. Just doing whats right

  4. irishgunner

If they are Feral cats and you do manage to catch them good luck with keeping your eyes and hands – they’ll tear the liven daylights out of you.

Best to tell the local RSCPA about them if they are wild – isn’t there a place there near the train station on hyde road?

  5. Stu

I really wouldnt know. I dont really plan on letting them struggle. More like knocking them out and moving them somewhere, maybe Eboues house. Would be a nice suprise in the cereal box.

  6. Stu

All that animal fairness goes out the window when they make the dog go mad every 5 minutes. Walking across the back wall and sitting there making him worse. Feckers!!

  7. Stu

Onto football so……..Ronaldos a cunting diver, Rooney has a cunting fat head, Gerrard is a scumbag and…….Wenger is slowly but surely losing something.

  8. irishgunner

he’s losing weight – surely its wrong to be that thin :? does he eat, certainly not them yummy vinegar chips Chary and I were talking about earlier yum :D

  9. leon

for the west rom game i dont the team should change anything they just need quicken up there passing and with more paceand they will creat more chances but every thing else in our last game we did well we just didnot score, to resolve the lack of goals they just need to keep trying.

  10. Stu

Maybe he is bulemic(sp). Remember he once said years and years ago that losing made his physically sick so he must be using the toilet a lot this season for all the wrong reasons.

  11. irishgunner

Stu – that would only explain his thinness for this season – the after we play a bad match vomiting. Maybe he just has one of those high metabolism and he probably does eat healthy lol

  12. Stu

I dont think metabolisms last that long. They tend to lessen as people get older…i think.

Naturally thin is one thing but he gets lost in his match day arsenal coat.

  13. A

    thursday stu, live on setanta

though it says that the next round has to be completed by saturday too, if we win do we have to play on the sat then?!

  14. A

    that’s what i thought irish
but it says “ties to be played by 7th march”, has it on our website under reserves fixtures saying that too – surely it can be postponed?!

  15. Pedro

‘I have never seen a team not being rewarded for that kind of spirit and quality’

Add that to the list of clichés!

  16. TonyS

Has anyone found out why Arshavin was the only outfield person in London wearing gloves on one of the mildest days of the year?

  17. Pedro

Tony, I reckon if press reports are anything to go by… his wife probably told him to as some sort of humiliation punishment!

  18. Stu

    Whos wife?

Did anyone see the Arsenal fans on Setantas Football Matters?

When asked about Wengers position he said that Wenger should never go. Isnt it amazing how media always seem to find an AKB, even tho the numbers are dramasticaly flling recently.

  19. ethangunner

not sure paulinho , i havent seen him since RVP started scoring .

    :)

but he should be back id think to remind us currently that he isnt

West Brom skipper Jonathan Greening could make his first start for nearly six weeks after returning from injury as a substitute against Everton.

On-loan Arsenal striker Jay Simpson is ineligible so Luke Moore may play and Roman Bednar is a doubt (back).

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be without defender William Gallas (ankle) so Johan Djourou is set to come into the defence.

Theo Walcott (shoulder) and striker Eduardo (hamstring) are not fully fit.

West Brom (from): Carson, Kiely, Zuiverloon, Hoefkens, Donk, Meite, Barnett, Robinson, Cech, Morrison, Greening, Valero, Do-Heon, Brunt, Teixeira, Koren, Moore, Fortune, Bednar, Menseguez.

Arsenal (from): Almunia, Sagna, Toure, Djourou, Clichy, Arshavin, Denilson, Diaby, Nasri, Van Persie, Vela, Fabianski, Ramsey, Song, Gibbs, Eboue, Bendtner, Merida.

    West Brom manager Tony Mowbray:
“We have to get some sort of form now, maybe winning four or five.

“It will be difficult against teams like Arsenal on Tuesday, but we have Stoke and Bolton at home back to back and they are the games we have to win.

“We must get belief and confidence. But we were expected to be in the relegation zone and we are.”

    Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger:
“I don’t know whether the fans are losing faith. That is not my worry.

“What is important is that I do what I believe is right and we keep going, that we show great attitude and do our job as well as we can – then let everybody judge and have an opinion.

“We have been through difficult times, but it’s an opportunity to show that you are strong enough to come through it.”

    Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger:
“I don’t know whether the fans are losing faith. That is not my worry.

    IT FUCKING SHOULD BE !!

“We have been through difficult times, but it’s an opportunity to show that you are strong enough to come through it.”

WHAT PRECISELY WILL IT PROVE ?
no disrespect to WBA but they are a championship team !

and never looked like making the grade this season .. Great we can prove a point by beating a championship team ..

then i suppose all is forgiven ! FFS !

i suppose after tonight’s victory we will get everyone pumping hands in the air telling us all we have RETURNED !

our team will only return when cesc- theo -dudu- rosicky returns ..

  24. Geoff

So if you are awake Kelsey, I’m in Spain and yesterday I didn’t see the sun, last night it rained and today it totally grey. Since I’ve been here the temperature hasn’t reached 15 degrees and the forecast is heavy rain.

And that is why I say you ex pats are delusional, the weather is shit.

  25. tonyadamsisgod

No Gallas tonight? That would sound about right for Arsenal this year…..as soon as someone starts performing they get injured!

  26. tonyadamsisgod

Off the track here but this whole Sri Lanka cricketers things is a bit fucking mental isn’t it!!!!

  27. iceman

    Ethan

A win tonight will bode well for the cup game at the weekend…

We need and could use the momentum…

So championship team or not….we need a rout to get our confidence levels back up…..

  28. Geoff

I don’t know why anyone’s surprised, Pakistan is like the wild West, all the militant and terrorist organisations live there.

  29. kelsey

    Geoff morning,

you are right it is raining non stop, and we played 2 matches over 6.5 hours yesterday in the rain at benalmedena, and won.Today is is pissing harder but it is 20 degrees.

I am not delsusional, I am slightly mental, with an imbalance of anxiety amd otherwise quite normal :)

  30. Evo in Oz

so ive decided not to watch the match in the morning and my mate who is a big gooners fan also has decided to have a bet on 0-0 at 9/1 for 20 bucks. Together we believe that it will remove 2 jinx from out backs and allow a big whooping of the baggies!

Lock in the win fellas, its a guarantee now!

  31. Geoff

Ha, ha, but it’s alway like this at this time of the year, it’s not 20 degrees here though, that’s for sure.

    Tony I’ll have a read.

  32. chozzer

Looks like it’s going to be wet and windy for tonight’s game in Birmingham. It can’t be 0-0 surely.

  33. Joaquin

i fear for the evening, what changes will be made in the line up today? Arshavin dropped due to fitness, comes on as a super sub. What else?

  34. ethangunner

well geoff if your looking for non delusional ex pats make your way to pattaya , the weather wont disappoint you ..

    iceman

sure a wins a win , but i still think until we get our regulars back we are on a hiding to nothing

    TA is god

yes , typical gallas is injured and its been arsenals story for over 2 years now ..
squad depth is always the issue ..
and it forces wenger to play players out of position and hence none can settle ..

  35. tonyadamsisgod

Ethan – Something we all predicted before the season had even begun. If last years squad was too small then selling 4 regulars and getting in 1 was never gonna work was it! Did you my link above at 8:06am? Good read! Smudger answering the fan’s qustions!

  36. Pedro

TAIG, we’re at the mercy of wordpress with additions to the site.

We don’t host this ourselves, so we’re not allowed to play about with the code sadly.

    It’s a great idea though.

  37. Joaquin

well as long as there is a feed i’m ok. here in the states its not on any of our channels.
    Thanks guys.

  38. tonyadamsisgod

Pedro – yeah I thought you may have restraints placed on your creative ability! Hey ho, never mind!

  39. kelsey

AA will be a huge success at Arsenal, but he isn’t even half fit,and if we had a decent squad he wouldn’t be featuring yet,and this concerns me.the last thing is that he picks up a niggling injury which AW is nothing and he could be out for 4 weeks.By all means play him,but he was totally knackered after an hour against Fulham,so the softly softly approach would be better.

  40. tonyadamsisgod

Joaquin – Shame! I’m in the UK but I have Italian Sky so I get to watch it on TV….they show all the EPL games, even the Saturday 3pm ones.

  41. kelsey

Streams like Justin and iraqi work best, but the key is to get on them 15 minutes before the start of the match.

  42. tonyadamsisgod

Kelsey – did you see the Sun taking another pop at us over AA saying he’s knackered. The poor lad just sad that it will take a few games to get up to speed and they have painted it out that he hates the EPL and wants to leave already!

  43. iceman

We can’t blow this one. It’s like the Gods want us to finish in the top 4. The players need to understand this. This is a lifeline from the skies!!!!!!!

  44. kelsey

    tonyadamsis god,

yes i read that story in the Sun.utter bollocks but with a hint of truth.in the summer he wanted to join barca, then Spurs and then after a prolonged negotiation we signed him.hope he isn’t another hleb or merecenary but time will tell.

I repeat what i have said for months, there is disunity amongst certain players,a lot generated by ade getting his 110k a wqeek,AW has lost respect from some players, and of course confidence can’t be high through lack of goals.

  45. tonyadamsisgod

Franchise – I’m lucky enough not to have to pay for the subscription as my girlfriend’s dad (who is Italian) has just put the subscription under his name along with his. I think the deals are pretty similar in price to the UK though. About £40-£50 a month will get you the lot, every channel. The good thing is that when you watch a game on one of the main channels – Sky Sports 1,2 or 3 – you can turn the language to english and get English commentary!! Unfortunately tonights game is on what, in English, would be called Sky Football 2 so I’ll have to try and bear the pain of Italian commentators! I would put the radio on but the delay is too much to bare as well!!

  46. tonyadamsisgod

Kelsey – After reading the article with Alan Smith this morning he totally agrees that our dressing room is fucked, that it all started by risking Gallas as captain, it exploding with Gallas last year at Birmingham and has now been made worse by the absence of Cesc! All true!
