Walcott back soon, Bischoff begins and the green monster returns?

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Theo is seeing his specialist on the 24th of this month and hopes to get the all clear to return against Roma, but this won’t be the Theo we know, this will be a bulked up super strong Theo, guaranteed not to break again, and I have to say down the right has been where it’s all gone wrong for us this season, we have not only been weak down there, we have been non-existent, forcing everything down the left and becoming predictable, Theo you can’t come back soon enough son, welcome home.

Our groin infested Frenchman from Portugal has come into the reckoning for the Cardiff game, I have to say with the choice we have, I look forward to seeing what he can do, anyone who can score for the Portuguese under 21′s can’t be that bad can he, I don’t think Rui Fonte was playing, so he must be reasonable and frankly the options don’t look great, here’s what Piers Morgan had to say about them when comparing them to the Brazilian midfield he watched against Italy midweek.

The midfield was creative, menacing, surging and deadly (Not slow, crab-like, uninventive and timid like it has been in the hands of Denilson, Song, and that cretinous headless chicken, Eboue).

As bad as that sounds it’s the way a lot of Arsenal fans are now thinking, so maybe Bischoff in there will liven things up. So a midfield of Vela, Nasri, Bischoff and Wilshere maybe. They are also thinking Piers stole the term ‘crab like’ from Pedro, which shows he reads Le Grove too!

Okay onto other stories, the YaYa rumours have started again in the NOTW, why YaYa is beyond me, (Wenger will never relent) but I did warn you all this week the summer signing rumours would start so we have to live with it.

To be honest as much as I would like a big lump like YaYa in, his brother is a bit on the wane and that has trouble written all over it, and the last thing we need is another African, don’t forget next season is ACN year, so that means losing them for two months and of course welcoming back our old and unwanted friend Mal Aria.

So for me, no mileage in those stories. I know I keep saying it, but I really don’t think we need the big defensive midfielder when we have such a skillful and mobile midfield with Rosicky, Cesc, Theo, Nasri, Arshavin and Vela around, not to mention Ramsey and Jackie boy in reserve.

Surely that’s why we have a defence, to defend? And if we have the odd game when we need a Gilberto, then why not put Djourou in there, that was his position before Wenger started messing around with his head when he joined us, give it a go Arsene, the Cardiff game would be a perfect opportunity.

Let’s put it this way, I would sooner see Djourou in there than Song, at least he has presence, and more pace. It’s time to stop having faith with what you see on the training ground Arsene, we are fast running out of games and we need the points.

We now know that Flamini and Diarra have gone forever, so it’s time we stopped talking about what might have been because it won’t happen again, let’s consign them to the same dustbin as we stuck Hleb in and move on.

Every year we seem to get a new away kit and every year (apart from this season) we get a ‘the fans hate this kit thing’ I would like to know where they get these stats from, no one ever asks me, do you ever get asked?

They say this next kit will either be green or blue or both, okay I didn’t love the green and blue one from the eighties, but the two tone blue one from Nike, with the lightening bolt down the side and hooped socks was my favourite all time away kit, and the home kit was my favourite red and white kit of all time too, so if they go that route then I for one will be happy.

I don’t like this years away kit and the home kit shirts are not only too small, they’re not long enough either. So any improvement on that, for me will be an big step forward.

Have a happy Domingo Grovers, only one more day to go, at least by then we’ll have something to be really, really, happy about.

Well I know you do not like either of them, only BBK seems to dislike Denilson more, lol, but I think that rationally they are both better options to get through the game tomorrow than some talented but too inexperienced youngsters. I do not question that the others will be better players, but they should not be having to prove that now!

Having said that, Neither Denilson or Song should be anywhere near our CM positions, but Finances, stubborness, injuries and bans make it necessary and we are stuck with the squad we have now until end of the season.

  2. A

david – simpson made it into yours!! if he fulfills every ounce of his potential he’ll follow aliadiare’s career path, though he doesn’t have nearly as much natural talent

  3. A

likewise paulinho, i’d absolutely love it, and could see it happening, though not because of the news of the world rumours!!

  4. David

    Here’s my thing Zorr0

If the youngers that are going to make it that actually do have talent play and are abismal…at least they are getting experience…they are learning and will learn….that is why the Arshavin signing is fantastic in so many ways…

If DenilSong are getting a chance now…and our results are obviously not good enough…why not give it to the youngsters? Whats the difference? If anything the youngsters have shown they can tear teams a new arsehole when they are up for it…but Denilsong has never given us anything but misery.

  5. Angry Loner

I couldve had Eduardo and ramsey and Sunu in my team too!

SV; I dont think anyone here would ever suggest that people committing crimes should not be punished, but sometimes their upbringing, shit thats happended to them as well as psychological imbalances come into play.

And to suggest being gay is a personal choice??? You being serious?

  6. Paulinho

Again though, it wouldn’t really make sense considering he’s doing so well and a first teamer in the most part.

Guardiola is strangely willing to let go of class players. Etoo in the summer for example.

  7. David

Simpson’s Got more talent than pinkboots Imo.

More pace. More accuracy on goal. And a far better first touch…how many goals did pinkboots score when he was on loan?

  8. A

ha well i was thinking world class zorro. None of our young centre backs are top notch, clichy and sagna aren’t up to scratch going forward, we’ve got no world class dm unless coquelin plays there but i expect someone more physical to be brought in. there are players who COULD make it, but i only included those who almost certainly will

  9. metronome

clichy and sagna were world class going forward last season, but i think this season they’ve held back a bit to shore up the defence due to lack of midfield ocver

  10. Angry Loner

Sunu will stay I think now. Simpson for me, could well make it. he would be a good foil for say Theo.

Charley manson? I dont know enough about him and his drugged up followers? Maybe a bit like the women who feel compelled to become pen pals of killers in prisons???

  11. A

more pace david, accuracy on goal though?! come on!! league 1 standard accuracy and composure in front of goal, and first touch, and will never be good!

bendtner scored 11, 7 assists in the championship
simpson got 6 goals dunno assists, not many, in league 1!

you seen simpson play other than league cup?!

  12. zorr0

David, missing where AA comes into it in all honesty?

I just think we definitely need to finish in the top 4 and I think we can still sneak it, but we need some luck and some players back in time to make a difference. I do not think we would make it with even younger and inexperienced players in the team than we already have, even given their talent and the ‘playing without fear’ idea.

We also need to make a decent fist of winning one of the cups and the FA is the easiest, given our luck with the draws so far, we could get to the SF and have all 3 of our big missing players back by then, so I don’t think it is time to take chances. That is why I love the CC because he can give them the games and they get more out of that than in 20 reserve matches.

  13. A

simpson’s build up play, passing, intelligence will never even be average prem standard, which is why he’ll never get close to making it with us, and won’t even make a premiership appearance.

  14. A

yeah i agree about bartley, nordveit could too, gibbs maybe, lansbury could, murphy maybe. There are others, but i dont think they’ll be world class

i forgot though, i would’ve had ramsey as the centre mid alongside cesc.

  15. David

    We disagree on there A,

Simpson has a decent linkup play and has scored more goals currently for WestBrom than Pinkboots did in a whole season.

  16. A

doesn’t have the aerial ability loner, and has equal class at best!

simpson is an explosive striker whos pace and power will get him goals, he’ll never be cultured or any good all round though. poor mans agbonlahor is best he could end up as

  17. Paulinho

Bendtner is a top class talent imo.

He was the one – along with Vela – that made the difference in that Sheffield United game. Had the class to score a cracker and open the floodgates as a result.

  18. David

Before he got injured….I watched WestBrom play Man U and i watched West Brom thrash Boro…and Simpson Starred in both games.

  19. A

david simpson’s link up play and passing in the west brom posh game was attrocious. I was at london road just to watch him, he was fantastic on the ball, great goal, and stretched posh, skinned them all day too, but his passing and link up play was very average at best, even at league 1 standard. Everytime west brom played their nice football the move broke down when it got to simpson, though on the break he was very good.

in the reserves his build up play and passing was embarrassing, compared to the other kids and opposition kids/reserves

  20. David

    ROFL

Arsenal Would Still be in the Carling Cup if Simpson had got the Start Ahead of Bendtner with all those Classy misses.

  21. David

Against Sheffield Vela was by far MOTM imo…Bendtner scored a great goal…but if its passing you want Rambo did all the passing.

  22. Paulinho

If we say it enough times Angry he will get the call.

As Geoff says, people in high places read Le Grove and implement managerial decisions accordingly.

  23. Angry Loner

I gotta say, ive liked what ive seen of Simpson and hope he gets a chance next season.

Paulinho; What do you reckon those women who befriend death row inmates do it for? Coz they are bored, think they can change em, wanna mother em?

  24. Paulinho

I think OJ is a decent talent but I doubt he will cut the mustard at Arsenal.

I would say though that at this stage he is no worse than Theo Walcott with his back to goal.

  25. David

Simpson is a better finisher than Bendtner…and his ball retention is superior….I dont see how you lot can rate Bendtner when he spend 90% of the games this season embarrassing himself and losing the ball on every possession

  26. Paulinho

Angry, women are obsessed with the dark side of the opposite sex. Then they complain about those very same things to their friends and go back for more….that’s another story :)

What about Ted Bundy? He raped and murdered several girls in the seventies and eighties but yet at his trial the court was full of women gawking at him cause he was relatively good looking!

  27. zorr0

Maybe, but I get the feeling he thinks he is not good enough for us but can do a job at another club and he can put his fee (plus any future sell on!) back into the academy!

In all the years since winning the league with ‘kids’ manure have not had a single player come through and get in their team on a regular basis, so we are not alone!

  28. Paulinho

I tell ya another diamond in the loch Lomond rough………..Emmanuel Frimpong. Good player.

A, I think you can rest your case after that bit of evidence.

  29. zorr0

imo I think the ones with the best chance are Merida, LJW, Coquelin, Ayling, Frimpong, Afobe and Aneke. Plus maybe Lansbury and Jay E-Thomas.

I think it will be interesting next season as there might not be room for Traore and Gibbs? Randall just winds me up to be honest and I doubt Simpson has enough to convince AW to keep him on if he gets an offer.

  30. ethangunner

    A

not so sure about Simpson , but Randall i concur
he never looked any cop to me !

he is championship material at max .
i think Wenger went thru a stint of buy all promising English youth a few years ago in an attempt to lose his , NO ENGLISH players sigma, and as ever he is now stuck with too many average english players that just wont make the grade ..
oh the joys of being a selling club !

  31. ethangunner

Arsenal (from): Fabianski, Sagna, Gallas, Djourou, Clichy, Nasri, Denilson, Song, Wilshere, Vela, Bendtner, Almunia, Van Persie, Toure, Eduardo, Gibbs, Randall, Ramsey.

  32. ethangunner

im confident tonight we will win !
im not usually confident of that , so i think
we will end our run of draws and get a 3-1 victory .

in fact i predict an arsenal win ..
and i havent said that too often this season so im looking forward to a good game , a game where hopefully jack will play some part of !

i think he wil go with nik and RVP up front .
the midfield will be a mystery until the whistle blows but im sure nasri, Denilson, Song
will be in there somewhere with ramsey i guess .

clichy is back but i think gibbs might be sub’d on for him …

and almunia sitting on the bench where he belongs

  33. A

i’m pretty confident he’ll go with bendtner and vela up top – vp on the bench to come on if needed. Vp played for holland midweek, and vela didn’t go away, so he’s fresh and been training all week. Other than that i agree, it’ll be nasri left, denilson right, ramsey and song centre (or ramsey and denilson swapped round) unless of course ramsey fails to shake his knee knock, in which case i expect bischoff or wilshere to come in on the right and denilson centre

  34. A

also – we didn’t go through a phase of buying young english players, we’ve always had english kids in the youth teams, there are still more foreign kids now than there ever were pre wenger, it’s just that wenger brought in continental coaching and upbringing styles, which means our kids coming through are technically far superior than most english kids, and just generally better, so there are more who get closer to breaking through

  35. ethangunner

    A

    BBC …

i think song denilson vela . with nasri …
i think arsene is going to put this game to bed..
and they have no excuses to rest the likes of RVP IMO !

no doubt your right he will play a gibbs or dilute the team some how but if it was me and knowing we didnt have a EPL prior i would go all out to put this game too bed !!

bitch-off isnt in the line up .. and BBC doesn’t usually release inaccurate line ups ..

but i would like to see him play .. i dont see enough of the stiffs too judge if he will make it or not ..

A other than frimpong and jack most English youngsters are brought in to AFC ..
ramsey – theo being prime examples ..

hoyte ,mumbva etc being part of the examples also who didnt make the cut ..

  36. Moray

I read on the Guardian that Mourinho hasn’t lost a home game for 7 years…since his Porto days, in fact.

110 games in total. Now, like him or hate him (and it’s normally “hate him”), that’s an outstanding record.

BTW I don’t think we’re buying anyone in the summer, even if we DO qualify for the CL…depressing as that seems

  37. Moray

Agreed on that, tho I’m not sure we’re on the best ground talking about other managers as “control freaks”…our one just appointed his own Chief Exec. and selected the colour of the taps in the changing rooms at the Emirates!

I’m not saying I’d swap, mind you, especially for that turgid football Chelski played under Mourinho, or the horrible tribal behaviour that brought Scolari down and which started with him…just though it was an impressive stat.

  38. Big Raddy

Perhaps so. PDT. But he is also a truly brilliant manager. The facts speak for themselves.

I watched the Milan game last night, and MU are really going to struggle against Inter. They are a formidable team.

Big Phil got 20 minutes and looked both nervous and out of his depth (I am sad to say)
