I would love to play for Arsenal – Sorry you don’t interest me!

by & filed under Uncategorized.

That was David Villa a year ago talking about us, and we said no, oh dear, did you see him last night? Imagine him playing next to the boy wonder? We’d probably be top of the league by now and favourites to win the Champions league, well maybe not but at least Cesc would have been happy.

He has the sort of finishing that we can only dream of though, I didn’t want to watch England yesterday because I think it’s a disgrace that we give caps away so cheaply, but I did, I found myself wishing we had signed Sergio Ramos and David Villa and glad we sold Ashley Cole. It says a lot when I really wasn’t bothered about the game and I would trade qualification to the world cup finals to beat Cardiff on Monday, does that make me unpatriotic or Arsenal obsessed? You decide.

Julio Baptista says he’s looking forward to playing us in the next round, he says he loved his time at Arsenal and still keeps in touch with Almunia and Cesc and when he comes to London they all go out with their other halfs, top man Julio, I always liked you, in fact I wish we had kept you, I think you would have got better in your second year.

Eduardo played for half an hour last night in Croatia’s 2-1 win over Romania and set up the winner goal for Nico Kranjcar so a big well done to Eduardo, at least we’ll get to see you on Monday.

It’s all gone quiet on the Cesc front, I read he would be back for the Roma game and I read that Theo would as well, Rosicky may be ready for our pre season friendly in 2010 but I won’t hold my breath but having Cesc back will be a massive boost.

Diaby I think will be moving in with Rosicky as he appears to spend as much time in the treatment room as our Tomas does, but to be fair I think he was banned against the spuds so maybe he’ll be back for the Cardiff game as well. I still can’t work out who will partner Cesc in the middle but I would sooner see Diaby than Song, however he may go for something more adventurous in the future when everyone is fit, he may go Rosicky Nasri Cesc Walcott and play Arshavin behind Robin as his first choice, with Eduardo coming on as an impact sub.

Notice I didn’t mention Adebayor or Nikki B, well I think we should sell them both to finance the purchase of Villa and Ramos in the summer as we know we won’t be getting any funds, especially with the state of our currency at the moment.

That’s why we should sell them to European club because we’ll get more Euros for them in order to pay more Euros for the others. I was sure that season ticket renewal time came in February last year, I have heard nothing yet, do you think they want to get the Roma game won first, then spring the surprise? Then they’ll tell us out of the goodness of their hearts they won’t be putting the prices up, they won’t be bringing them down though will they???

Have a great day Grovers, 4 more days to go and we can start dreaming of revenge against Burnley, only this time they’ll have to play our grown ups (please not Nikki again).

well one thing is for sure the future looks good , but your going to need these players to step up
and stop being potential . also i can see song definitely not playing much once the normal team is fit , which makes me think long term there is just no room for him and he will want to play every week now , so i cant see song – eboue or ade being regulars for much longer ..
and it might push them out of our team ..

especially if you look at the potential talent in the side . jack has heaps , and ramsey will come good if given some games too ! then you have vela .. all are far better quality than the 3 stooges ..

    eboue- song- diaby

jack and ramsey should play a bigger role next season or they will want to move on ..

Ethan….you say…. “i think vela will still need to do his apprenticeship on the wing ..”

Why hasn’t he got the nod then this season??… Surely he’s miles ahead of Eboue/Diaby..

AW would have not forseen having to buy AA….

I don’t know how Vela fits in to his plan just yet….

One thing if for sure….for all the strikers we have now….someone will def be moved on in the summer…..

BIG RADDY an answer to your mac question if no one has done so.
The options as GMR pointed out ,aren’t as numerous as PC but you only need one stream anyways. and if I am having trouble finding one on my own,
every link I have opened that was posted on here has done the trick
I cannot even remember the last game I missed out on so it shouldn’t really be a factor if you switch over

du kan inte ga fel overgang till mac och nar du far bekvam med det operativsystem du fraga hur du klarat utan
det ar ett fantastiskt komplement att ditt liv
lycka till om du bestammer dig kopa en mac

why hasnt anyone got the go ahead , ahead of the 3 stooges ..

its only a theory of mine but i think when wenger moves someone on who doesn’t make it in the 1st team, he likes to give them plenty of exposure so he can set the selling price high next season,
sure they are a arsenal reject like Jeremie or Bentley but he still can get 4-5 mil for each one … eboue – diaby – song ?

i think jack should be used to marshal the CM position whilst cesc isn’t present . why not give him a go??, he did a great job V Real Madrid ?
yet somehow cant get a game V’s Wigan ? or Everton ?

Ramsey, vela and jack are our future yet song and eboue seem to not fit the current team , so why dilly dally when the only thing that is going to bring any of them on is REAL 1st team experience ?

    why delay it further ?
start as you mean to go on ,
like we persisted with cesc initally.

do we really have that much to play for now ?
i cant see us matching the chev’s for points
and we have some tough fixtures in the home stretch and we aren’t capitalizing on the easy points now ..

this season is a right off really , might as well develop theo – jack – ramsey- vela – fab2 into REAL options !!!!

i dont really think quality wise we will lose anything anyhow , if anything we might get 4th spot back by doing it ..

it sure wont happen using song or eboue , i think the past 3 or4 games have proved that !

    ALSO GEOFF

i think the reason your not fussed about the england V spain game is lack of arsenal names in the line up , im sure villa and the chev’s have a big international following , even pool and the manc’s …

it stems back to wengers lack of english players debate , but i personally like to see the world stage , its great from a perspective of seeing the best the world has to offer ..

  8. iceman

So maybe he is using the 3 stooges right now so as to be able to sell them for GBP5m upwards come the end of the season….

Still that is a ridiculous way to look at it….

Your gambling 4th spot which is worth millions for some jokers you intend to sell for a 10-15m….

    Where’s AW’s head at I wonder sometimes……

  9. kelsey

    ethan,

when did Arsenal last have a number of players in the England line up.When Walcott plays,it’s only natural that we keep a keen eye on him for two reasons, one obviously to hope he performs well, and secondly that he doesn’t get injured.

The club before country issue, has been raised many times, and with the top 4 managers being non english they will always be more concerned that their players are fit to play first and foremost for their club.Capello is trying to change that, regardless of the result against Spain.Wenger says he gives all players of all nationalities an equal chance, but statistics show otherwise, and also as in England we don’t produce enough technically gifted natural footballers anymore, and putting a national side together of overpayed primo donnas is not the solution. It’s a team game and always will be .

Gunnerfever if you’re still there you were in moderation because you posted a clip, I can’t open it, can you try again, Barca for Eboue and £20mil??? that must be a wind up!

  11. gnarleygeorge9

At the time I never really appreciated the quality that was housed @ Arsenal coz, well ;) i spose i took it for granted, but shit where is the quality now. It takes a clip like the one from 2003/04 to define the difference where The Club is @ now compared to where we all want it to be. & ethan you would agree.

  12. gnarleygeorge9

……& don’t get me wrong last year there was plenty of quality, but as it stands here today, if football was a complexion, Arsenal would be pastie faced with pimples

  13. iceman

It’s really sad how it’s been all downhill from the invincibles….

….He can still sort it out if he wants….it was him who put that squad together anyway….

    Come on Wenger!!!!!!

  14. Confidentgoner

    Groovers, still on Song..

Song is talented and is improving.

After watching him at the youth World cup, where he caged the brazillians for most of 90mins and the AFC where he was best DM, I was disappointed with his Arsenal output. I put it down to handling and overconfidence. That guy was chosen ahead of Essien and Yaya after the AFC, which to anybody alive should say a thing or two about the boy’s ability.

If we sell him, I hope it will not turn out to be a big regret on our part.
