Due to injuries and the manager not adding to the squad enough and/or playing others instead (Vela, Wilshire, Ramswey, etc) he’s getting way too much game time. He’d be OK if his games were few and far between IMO.

That’s a very good point. I have done just what you suggest and concentrated on Eboue during a game. He is hopleless when we are not in possession. He has no tactical or positional awareness. He does run at defenders and sometimes it pays off, but more often than not we lose possession because he doesnt have the skill or footballing brain to execute that kind of play. I’m ecstatic we won today and we’re only a couple of players away from having a team that can play Wengerball and score goals……
The result has made my weekend to be honest…..I feared that we may come a cropper today and we did enough to win the game.

Thats the trouble some of our players are written off too quickly. Djourou has only just made one of the centre back positions his own but everyone still wants another defender signed. Vidic was shite when he arrived but Ferguson persisted with him for a season or so, playing him week in, week out & look how good he is now.
I’d prefer to keep Djourou & Toure together for a long spell of time (depending on injuries obviously), & lets see what happens for the rest of the season & possible into the next one.
Evra was another player who came here & was crap for a long time before Heinze injury gave him his chance & then he never looked back.
With regards Song, its pretty hard to defend him but I would say go back to the pre season when he arrived (2005 I think), he played everything one touch & was superb, now for some reason his whole game has changed. Is that his fault or has Wenger stopped him moving the ball as fast as he was doing?

The most impressive though has to be in Universitario in Lima, Peru. Fucking hell, I went there just for the crack expecting something on the lines of Leyton Orient. What a shock. It was half empty as it was only a minor game but I would love to go back when it is full. Take a look. I have never seen so many corporate boxes. I did not pay but the tickets were about £5

I agree it does look likely we’ll concede each game at present but our defence has hardly been settled this season & in fairness they have little protection in front of them.
I really think Djourou will be a world class centre back in time but he does need to play weekly. If another defender is signed you can gurantee that it’ll be Djourou that is dropped for them because Wenger certainly won’t drop any of his more experienced defenders.

I really hope Djourou and Toure are given the rest of the season now. Forget Gallas, he will be off in the Summer, but those two could last us as a partnership for 5-6 seasons.
I have been campaigning for Djourou all season. I really think he will be world class. Still makes a couple of mistakes here or there, but usually recovers from them. He is quality.
I have never really liked Song, He showed glimpses once the pressure was off last season at CB but I just dont think he has what it takes at this level. I really think it is in everyones best interests and especially his own if he drops a division and finds his real level.

Pat- I’m with you on Djourou & Toure. Gallas was a great defender but he is getting on whilst Toure is coming into his prime & is the perfect long term partner for Djourou.
We all know Djourou will still make mistakes from time to time, but he will at least learn from them. I could never understand why he wasn’t given the chances previous to this. He has always had more potential than Senderos, unfortunately it looks like he’ll be back with us come the end of the season.
It is crazy, It is not an opera, I think you should be given the choice to either sit or stand at football. Some people like to sit but I find myself up and down like a yoyo for 90 mins, why not stand in the first place.
The Emirates could probably take 80,000 if they did it at both ends and the tickets could be cheaper. I know quite a few people that have been priced out of football. Once tax and other shit is taken out the price of a day out to football is getting pretty close to at least a 1/4 of what people earn a week and that is not acceptable.
I was thinking about it and I would imagine that that 100m put aside for that Kaka transfer would pay for a season ticket for every single seat in the Man Shitty Stadium.
