Arsenal make ‘Homer’ first sensible signing, Arshavin next.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

So all the rumours about us letting Jay Simpson out on loan are bollocks and that’s the best bit of news during our miserable run up to Christmas I’ve had.

Spookily young Simpson shares his name with the great Homer Jay Simpson of the world renowned adult show ‘The Simpsons’ but that my friends is where the similarity ends, this kid can be our Defoe, actually I think he’s somewhere between Defoe and Bellamy.

Good piece of business boss, now let’s see him up the pecking order ahead of Bendtner, he’s had his chances, give someone who cares a go and ship Bendtner out to someone who wants him.

I think the Arshavin rumours are happening too often now not to have some truth in them, it reminds me of the Nasri deal, now I like the Arshavin I saw against Rangers in the UEFA Cup and I liked most of the Arshavin I saw in the Euros, but against Spain he went missing and for me he’s certainly worth no more than Hleb, so if Wenger can get him for under £15mil I’d be happy, if not I wouldn’t want him.

I still like the idea of bringing in Scott Parker as defensive midfield but only if we were sure his injuries are behind him, I’m guessing Alonso is a deal that won’t happen now and the YaYa thing was always a no goer so I hope he has a few irons in the fire, I still like the Ribery for Bendtner idea and Song for a case of Gatorade, but we so need a winger, we saw against Portsmouth what a difference Vela made when he came on and he’s not really a winger.

Well we only have a couple of days to go but I really think there are only us and ManCity still in the real buyers enclosure, so we should show our hand sooner rather than later and get someone big in fast.

I guess Villa have been given money as they know it’s their last real chance to get into ECL and an investment now makes sense, the Spuds are desperate to avoid relegation and they still have the Berbatov money burning a hole in their pockets and they now realise Harry is in fact a shit manager, who’ll probably go back to being an Arsenal fan once he gets fired, so they may spend too.

It is funny how no one else has moved for Arshavin though isn’t it? Not one club, if he does come I hope he adapts really quickly.

Maybe today, probably tomorrow, have a great day Grovers.

the thing is,its not that we have to spend,we have a set amount, but our rivals have spent more than us,and are probably willing to spend just as much again,so can we afford to let them outbid us if our targets are the same as theres?

  2. bergkamp

if eduardo loses a bit of pace he can play in goal instead,he knows how to beat keepers so he should be good in goal lol

  3. bergkamp

i hope so gambon,i hope villa just dont outbid us for everyone we want lol, we should just bid for barry 10 mill, unsettle the life out of him again, and offer a couple feraris to agbonlahor and young via an agent climing to be from real madrid just to shake them up a bit

  4. Stu

Well Toulalan should be a definate target. He would be perfect and Gourcuff would be an amazing signing too. But it would be like a french team.

  5. Stu

    Sagna – Gallas -?- Clichy
    Nasri – Diaby – Toulalan – Gourcuff

That would be too much. Get shot of Gallas and maybe Diaby and it would be just right.

  6. bergkamp

  9. bergkamp

is the number 10 shirt haunted by the ghost of deninis?? gallas cant do a thing right defensively but can go forward well

  10. BOY BETTER KNOW SHO!!!!

i reckon ade and gallas should swap we need a lanky defender in there plus gallas used to be a striker

  11. bergkamp

we need some proper wingers, they will have to get right to the by line an cross the ball coz i dunno if il be able to stay onside unless we get a proper fitnss guru and chef to get me fit to be able to run

  12. vandejie

Oh I’m in your dream too?
If arsene want to sign me, I will demand a 200k/week. The position will up to him. I don;t mind at all.

    lol.

  13. bergkamp

he will never score an own goal even if he trys lol, hell yeah lets get nik an ade as the new partnership at the back

  14. gnarleygeorge9

If The Arsenal had as much luck as Aston Villa, The Club would be sitting on top undefeated & well clear of the pack.

    icy

Mr wenger had better get his shopping list out, with a big wedge of notes coz January starts in just over 6 hours

Morning & evening Goons depending where you are.

Looks like Kolo wants off cos he & Gallas hate each other. I can’t imagine Kolo as a good decent family man would like the Gallas ego.

It seems like its taken them this long to realise they cant play together. We all knew that months ago..

    One of thems gonna go.

  17. iceman

Think right now the money’s on Kolo leaving to Man. City….which will be a shame coz he’s the last of the invincibles (right?)…..on current form though….you would think it was a decent deal GBP 10m….maybe we can ask for Richards from Citeh eh?

  18. Doublegooner

Richards isnt doing the business up there. Feeling is he’s gone
    backwards.

We’ve got enough of those already.

    Morning all,
as i have said many times before their is disharmony in the club, and now to here of the gallas/toure problem, two of our most senior players doesn’ bode well.
half way through the season and we are left with fighting for 4th spot, the cups are a lottery.Wenger has to buy now not in 3 weeks.look at our next 4 league fixtures.
    bolton(h)hull(a)everton(a)west ham(h) and villa wba(h)sunderland(a)portsmouth(a) wigan(h)
knowing wenger as he has sad he is not bothered by the FA cup we might get a mixed team of youth and kids.

  20. iceman

We should be expecting 2 players coming in minimum…..if he is to let Kolo leave then he should be replaced…..we’re already short…..unless he sees Senderos coming back as a replacement.

  21. Richie

Please stop all moaning at Bendtner. I’ve watched him since he was 16 and can assure you he is a quality player who has been scoring goals for Denmark since he was 18. You are not seeing the best of him yet, but it’s not surprising given even badly placed passes made to him are even seen as his fault and the crowd are on his back from the first minute.
In the first 45 mins of that league cup tie at Burnley I know he missed chances. But in half a game he was on the end of 3 one on ones and set up 3 one on ones for other players who also missed. Now if his confidence was higher and he had found the net then, you would have to say we haven’t had a player do that since Dennis himself.
Give him a chance, stop moaning and trying applauding his good play and you might start seeing a better player.

  22. kenny smith

Rumour is arshavin is willing to take a pay cut to come to us…. and we are apparent;y going to sign arteta??? and inler?????

ill be chuffed to bits if that happens but will probably be another transfer window of false hope

  23. iceman

Apparently he’s just ruled out Bendtner moving.

    So that’s that.

If we get Inler and Arteta in that will be a move in the right direction. Rather have Arteta than Arshavin.

Howvere, if we sell Kolo then those funds should be directed to replacing him and not buying a 15 year old with promise. We’ve have way too many of those……..

  24. kelsey

i have a soft spot for kolo,he was immense before the anc and obviously the injury there and contacting malaria hasn’t helped.if he is going, who do we gwt,and gallas will be gone in the summer.a pair of swiss rolls fuck me. oh and inler. lets all start yodelling.

  25. Goonerman

Richie – Lately I have not any good play from Bendtner at all. Its as if he has not played the game before in his life, he is that erratic.

And I give all players the benefit of the doubt.

  26. Geoff

Iceman that’s what my post is all about funny enough! But don’t bank on Inler, he already turned us down once and Wenger doesn’t go back for people.

  27. Geoff

Kelsey, I talk about that as well, people will think you, me and the Iceman sat down 10 minutes ago and wrote the post, how funny!
