Djourou injured in the warm-up, Song off at half time, yet we still showed more signs of the form we all miss then we have in previous games, two poor defensive mistakes, one great goal ?!
Agbonlahor is one of the qucikst players in the Premiership, Gallas made a poor judgement decision, the second I’d expect Djourou or Adebayor to pick up their biggest aerial threat and it was probably decided earlier who it would be, it was a lapse in concentration that allowed Knight the space.
I’m not suckered in by anything, I just refuse to be drawn in to the overly critical bollocks people talk when they let their emotions get the better of them.

Gallas was not at fault for the 2nd goal. Stop blaming it on him. He was behind the defender who headed the ball to the Villa player covered by Sagna. Then that player headed it to the wide open Zat Knight. By theory, the CDM should be tracking any surprise runs into the box. “Where was Denilson or Ramsey” is what you should be asking.
Don’t make Gallas the scapegoat. He made a bad decision for the 1st goal. It was decided by millimeters.
i agree with keyser completely. After we throw away a result like this some people lose the ability to analyse objectively and their emotions get the better of them, there were positives to take from today.
IMO denilson was the best player on the pitch. In the second half we played for a while some of the best football we have this season, and showed we can play without cesc.
Eboue had a good game until the ridiculous lapse of concentration for the second goal. Complete contrast to diaby who was attrocious apart from a few good touches and absolute brilliance for his goal.
We got a draw with cesc out, djourou injuring himself in the warm up meaning a very obviously unfit kolo had to play, and silvestre had to play left back because of an injury to clichy and silvestre is an embarrassment there, then on top of everything else song got injured meaning we had to play an 18 year old kid who was very obviously not ready for a situation like that. We were also playing a team who are the only outfit ready to challenge for 4th place, and they couldn’t win despite all our problems.

I would have taken a draw before KO and obviously gutted to lose a 2 goal lead, but, unemotionally we had to ensure we did not lose this game and we managed it, and without possibly 6 first team players.
We are just hanging in there at the moment and have to keep doing so until hopefully AW buys a couple of players in Jan.
AW made a monumental error with the whold Diarra/Flamini/Gilberto situation and no one else can carry the blame for that than him. However, for players like Gallas and Toure to suddenly turn into poor defenders in the space of half a season is hardly the manager’s fault! If he does not address the issue then it will be.
We need to get 3 pts off Pompey and then get past Plymouth and regroup with hopefully some new blood.
Playing with youngsters has already got us into this situation somewhat, so I fail to see how Merida or LJW are goingt to do any better than those already in the team, you can see that Rambo struggles to keep up with the pace and physical nature of the PL.
It just proves to me how far we’ve fallen that some fans are content with a draw against villa after being two goals up. I’m glad wenger is pissed, hopefully he’ll do something about this mess. Think back to where we were a few years back, think of the players that have left, think of their replacements. I feel let down
Let down that bloggers, Pundits and Press pointed all of this out in the summer and Arsenal football club did fuck all about it.
We were in a really positive position at the end of last season, we lost it but you could see that if we kept the squad together and added a couple of quality players, we could have moved onwards and upwards this year, but the opposite happened, we lost and did not replace.
I would have taken a point today, but the performance bothered me, we fluked our way into a 2-0 lead, we then grew on the confidence and then fucked it up, and that is why I feel that I would actually rather have lost 1-0. I honestly think that 2-2 will really damage the players mentally.
Yet it all could have been avoided. We were fucking awesome in the invincible year and any average manager could have replaced like for like as those players left us, yet Wenger has embarked on a 50/50 gamble on youth and it has not worked and we are now in a position where he has made himself irreplaceable.
Honestly We cant sack Wenger as no other manager could get the best out of this bunch of players. to get us back where we SHOULD be would cost close to 100m and for all the great things that he has done for this club, he is ruining all of his great work

I would’ve liked to see bendtner come on, because he would have won every single header rather than us just standing back letting them have the ball everytime it went in the air at the end. Problem was vp could’ve come up with the killer goal, and taking off eboue, clichy, or denilson would’ve meant going more attacking! Guys, we are weak in the middle and need new ‘experienced and seasoned’ players to come in if anything to offer advice and help mature our young uns’. This is now urgent. But we also cannot blame our defensive frailties on the younger inexperienced players as this had our most experienced players, and with the exception of Sagna was at sixes and sevens again!
Stu, you are clearly frustrated about the team (me too!) but Wilshire, Merida and co are not the answer. They may occasionally show glimpes of whats to come, but they would be highlighted as the youth that they are against strong and experienced teams like Villa. Ramsey has promise, but again he’s too young and raw for us to be pinning any hope, christ he was 18 today. Cesc wasn’t our key player at 18, nor was Ronaldo, nor Shrek.
Song played his typical game today, which was just horrbile to watch. Poor tackling, passing and generally reading the game about a second or two behind every other player. The rest of the midfield with the exception of the goal’s (which were well taken) were extremely average. RVP had too much to do and chased the game but had no real support. Could have been a little bit more clinical but he didn’t have too many chances today.
Villa exposed our midifield and controlled the game bar for a 10 minute spell when we looked our old self.
But we should remember, our players are lacking a little confidence right now, and there were no leaders out there today. Just 2 or 3 quality players could turn this team around and might even lead to much better performances from the kids (essentially what most of them are!).
These are great kids, no doubt, but we are the Arsenal, and we are used to having much better than this. A little experience and a bit more quality and we should be able to get a good run going.
As for Wenger he believed in these kids for sure, but he can see that they aren’t able to repay his faith. Sacking him, no no and no. Become another Chelski, keep changing your manager unil you find Wengers double. What Roman would pay for Wenger to go over there and actually get their primas to play proper football. Wenger will get the team playing again for sure, he knows more about this game than all of us, be sure of that. He’s just stubborn, and now he is also pissed. About time, now we can see some agression in the tansfer market. Remember when we are good, you cannot get better flowing football, pure eye candy and the envy of every other club. Lets call it Wengers experiment with da youth, and it’s failed and now he’s starting to see it too.
Guys, the club must scour these blogs for the fans views so they know we are pissed. The crowd have voiced it recently and they must take notice of us, surely.
Get the right players in and I’m confident we can get our football back to where it should rightly be.

And playing against a team who people are lauding as potential challengers for the top 4 at their place.
From being 2-0 up it was heartbreaking to draw, but with all things considered, a draw before the start of the match, and in the greater scheme of things isn’t a disaster by any means

It’s not something that suddenly appears it’s built up over years, Andy Gray the muppet that he is just feels re-assured by players he’s seen countless times before, does that mean they make mistakes ? yes but he reverts to all the positives he’s garnered over the years, watch him coo over Gerrard and faun over his favourites, he’s as biased as they come and I doubt he even realises it.
You can take positives from practically anything in life. But at this rate we’ll be playing in the Europa cup next year (that would probably be a positive).

We were appalling though, i understand your point but injuries shouldn’t be used as an excuse. If wenger plays a kid who cost 5 million that manure were going to loan back to cardiiff cos he wasn’t ready he has himself to blame. It’s wenger fault that this team has distingrated to this level. If you have a great team and sell your better players each year and replace them with average players sooner or later you’re gonna end up with an average team.
It’s not the result that worries me. It’s the fact that we used completely outplay teams (like villa did in first half) and only lose the occasional game due to not putting the ball in the net. We don’t do that anymore, most of the games we’ve lost this season (with most of the first team) we’ve been outplayed. Most of these players are simply not good enough.
As for the defence, I can’t believe a manager of his experience can construct a defence that is so niave.
Cant believe how shit we have become. Not one of our players this season would get into any other of the top ….teams. On this seasons showing we arent even a top4 side anymore so I cant say it.
Things are so bad that I would even bring Senderos back and give him the armband. He is a warrior and a good captain. Almunia is a shit keeper and an even worse captain. His mane shouldnt even be mentioned as a possible captain but such is out stuation he IS the captain.
There was no concentration at the back today aside from Sagna and even though Senderos made mistakes at least he didnt do stupid things like Gallas. He wouldnt have made that Tackle, and he would have thrown himself in front of Knights shot. He gave his all and was unlucky a lot but its better than having Gallas and Toure continuing their horrible partnership. Neither of them are leaders.
WTF happened to Toure in the ACN. He hasn’t been the same. The Toure-Gallas partnership was amazing before January last season. Our defenders have confidence issues, imo.

We have problems, there are many but little ones that are heaped together, but we’re not going to resolve all of them in one go, sadly we’re being hit with new ones every week.
I see the negatives, but if someone can sit here and say they see no positives from the game then I wouldn’t believe them, my frustration is shown in that respect.

I’m just making the point that spending 5 million on a 17 year old centre midfielder who has only had 7 months first team football in the lower leagues may not be the best option. Especially when we’ve lost 3 experienced top class centre midfielders. Ideally he’d have brought ramsey and the experience we needed…..he didn’t though…..and played song instead!!!

Sagna 8.0 A phenomenal showing. Possibly the only rival for Maicon as the best right-back in the world. Tackled crisply, supported his side in attack and saved their bacon with a majestic off-the-line clearance.
Gallas 4.0 Another ramshackle showing; Villa only failed to make the breakthrough early on through sheer hard-luck. His levels never rose above incompetent. Conceded a penalty that a 18-year-old would have avioded.
Diaby 8.0 Part Makelele, part Vieira, part Zidane. Outstanding in every facet of his game.
Van Persie 5.0 Inconsistent, moody and occasionally work-shy. Hit the post, however.

You are right in some ways, how do you replace Henry?
Well it is how well you replace them, I think we did not do enough to replace players and in particular, Pires, Ljungberg, Vieira, Henry and Bergkamp.
I know we were in a gifted position to even have them grace our shirts, but we have not even come close to replacing them even though players were available. Wenger himself has admitted that he came close to siging Ronaldo, Torres, Ribery, Young Etc but did not go the extra mile to secure them and we are left with and I am sorry to say this average replacements.
I am sorry Keyser but I feel that Wenger has let us down post Invincibles and I fear that he is taking us deeper still.
Will he turn it round? only time will tell, I hope so but I fear he wont.
I do take positives from games, for instance today, I felt that Sagna finally showed what made him part of the Premiership team of the year last year, but apart from that I am struggling, and I am struggling game to game to pick out consistency from this batch of players. How can you say that Diaby is part Makelele? He cant defend or tackle for shit. He switches of for large parts of a game and is completely right footed, nor can he control a game like either of the 3 could. No doubt he is talented but there is no1 comparable to him.

Last season was awesome, I went into feeling similar to this yet Adebayor and Flamini played out of their skins. I think Wenger thought the same would happen this year with Song and Denilson.
If we managed to keep Hleb and Flamini then I would have said we went a long way to replace Vieira and Ljungberg yet we didnt and I ask myself why? I think those players needed another season to fully convince me, alas they moved on. But Bergkamp and Henry have not been replaced, not even close. The proof is in the pudding if you had a virtual game between the invincibles and our best 11 this year, the invincibles would win 9 out of 10 games, would you argue with that?
The football was good last year, but what a difference a few months makes. I honestly have not enjoyed watching Arsenal much this year. The pundits and some fans are still living off past glories but seriously look deeper, we have not been that good this year, the flowing Ajax like football has not been there.

Just saw the highlights… and the last goal was an embarrassment to say the least. We had few players ambling towards the goal, and fewer players trying to do nothing in the D. Every one is to blame…. it could have been much easier. every other team will keep dropping points… but we will drop a lot more than them that is for sure.

Even this year, because of the success we had last year, teams have used different tactics.

I am a die hard fan but I know what is important in life and I will not pay a single penny out to the club whilst Wenger continues this experiment, and the longer this continues the more die hard fans will feel the same. The World has changed and I know I can get my fix online, ok it is not the same as being there but if I face a 4 hour journey back to swansea wanting to punch someone every saturday because of another average and effortless performance then I am better watching it at home and save £120 a week. In 8 games I can get Sky Italia installed and watch every game live in HD.
And that is not taking into account the better off fans that can afford club level, Mark my words everyone is affected by the crunch and they will struggle to sell that out next year if they dont provide the entertainment and world class players to justify the outlay. That is what will really hurt the club.

We have been in Net Profit for nearly every year Wenger has been at the club.
It shows the greatness and averagness of his management skills.
It does not have to be this way, if we had bid a couple of extra million for certain players over the years and maybe bid for some others, there is no reason that we could not have dominated following the Invincibles. Of course it will, playing an average player in a starting 11 will always have an effect, you are carrying people, and when you are carrying 2-3 people of course it has an effect.
For instance if we had Alonso, Van Der Vaart, Ribery and David Villa in the squad today, we would have won comfortably, if we had two of those I am sure we would have held on.

I remember Wenger saying it after the Invincible year. He said Arsenal would go onto dominate football for years to come, and we should have.
It would only have taken about a 15m net investment every year in transfers (That would probably have been recouped in winnings and merchandise) yet we have been stripped of assets in a quite worrying way and I just dont get it.
