Wilshere will be 36, Ramsey 37 and Cesc 36, what happened to youth?

Ok I am taking Arsene’s comments and applying the youngest, oldest rule here, he said his current team will have a future at Arsenal for 15 to 20 years, so if we say the youngest members, like Jack and Rambo get the 20 year one, and Cesc at 21 gets the 15 year one, they will be all in their middle 30′s by then, and far too old to play for Arsenal, so what exactly is the boss talking about?

And that has always been my question, when Cesc gets to 24, his successor will be 20 and should be replacing him, so when Cesc reaches the age when he is most marketable, playing his best football and worth the most, we sell him and replace him with a younger player, who himself is now entering the twilight of his Arsenal career at 20!

Doesn’t make sense does it? You can only build a young team once Arsene, and if they are good, they will dominate, much like the Mancs did, and then you can’t split them up, so you keep them until they get old and by doing that you stifle the young crop, pissing them off so forcing them to leave early and so on.

So through all this experiment, you wait 6 or 7 years for the team to grow up, get a few years of domination, then they get old and break up, experiment doomed, what we should do is blend youth with experience and by that I mean a few 24, 25 and 26 year olds, not a 31 and 30 year old.

All this is to try and make sense of what the boss was saying about 15 and 20 years, so not a criticism just trying some theories out, and whichever way I cut it, the theory makes no sense, other than Arsenal save money.

Or do they? What we end up with is 20 odd mediocre players earning good money instead of 4 or 5 stars on great money, the end result is the same size wage bill, except one team wins trophies and the other doesn’t, which one would you rather be? and which one do you think we are?

What is clear to me is that Song is not an exceptionally talented footballer and if he plays today I expect us to lose. So onto today.

I would think the goalkeeper will be Almunia with a back four of Sagna, Gallas, Silvestre and Clichy. I would like a midfield of Nasri Cesc Ramsey and Vela but I expect a midfield of Nasri Cesc Song and Denilson.

If you want to put a bit of steel in there Arsene, put Kolo in and not Song, if anyone can tell me what attributes Song brings to this team, I’m all ears.

Forward line has to be Robin and Ade, though it wouldn’t surprise me to see Denilson and Song in a 5 man midfield with Ade on his own, I won’t be horrified with that but if he does it, then put Kolo in there instead of Song.

I feel Scolari will show a lot of respect toward us and play with a packed midfield, leaving Anelka alone up front, I don’t think it will be a free flowing game but more a tactical game of chess, I only hope someone drops the box that holds the chess pieces on Ashley Cole’s head early doors.

I will go for an Arsenal win, but if he plays Song, a Chelsea win, this has nothing to do with a ‘Song witch hunt’ I have never disliked someone I have never met, I just think he offers us nothing other than liability, I’m sorry Alex, but you’re not good enough, anyone else in the entire squad I would not have a problem with other than you, sorry mate, I’m an Arsenal fan.

Let’s shut these chavs up boys, it’s been a while since we collected our customary points at the Bridge, 4 years in fact, go get three points Arsenal, show the world what you’ve got and how you can play, show the world you’re The Arsenal!

no not me fella. i dont go to the away games.

also if i was able to go to the game i wouldnt be able to today as the baby is comming out of hospital at some point today :D

so the only way ill be watching the game is on the net, if somone is Kind enough to post the links out, witch im sure they wil ;)

Song is the replacement for Eboue!

  13. i’ma say that there is going to be a few goals today, and i think 2-3. ade will be keen to prove he’s fit and will bag a brace, with cesc or nasri scoring the other. go gunners!

  14. raif says:

    Geoff

ur post is a intresting one. Food for thought indeed. as like you said Cesc and so on in there 20′s wenger speaks about 15 years later. so Cesc will be 35.

by that time we would have sold him already. i hope someone points this out to wenger at the next interview or somthing. id like to hear what he says

  15. Maek says:

1st of all i have diagree about RVP he is better off sold than pretending to play for arsenal. I would love to have bendtner and Ade up front

  16. PRoDarTee says:

Strange but true – we have let in more goals than Fulham, but have scored more than any team other than Chelsea.

I’ll back us to score today and pray that Gallas, Silvestre and Almunia have a blinder.

  17. rookie says:

    good post Geoff….

i think we will have to contend with Song coz kolo is still injured…..

how about playing Robin on right nasri on left and Ade and nikk upfront??????

Ade and nikk combine well…better than nikk and Robin and even some times better than ade and robin

  18. rookie says:

And keeping cesc and denilson in mid

  19. rather van persie in my team than adebayor. ade just has heaps of phyisical prowess! bendtner needs more time, and the right attitude. he occasionally seems lazy when he’s not on the ball. we might see him in a sub role, but i doubt he’ll start unless ade isn’t deemed match-fit.

  20. that said though, both bendy and ade are front-liners. rvp is a 2nd striker, so ehh. i think he’s an assured starter, and who partners him is upto wenger.

  21. spurdozer says:

Van Persie is not a player this team needs. He’s a luxury player, which sometimes can win you games single-handedly. But those games are very rare.

  22. Geoff says:

So far the results have gone our way, if the Mancs draw or lose and we win, we’ll be back in there.

  23. spurdozer says:

BOLLOCKS TO GOOD LUCK CHARMS. :-D

  24. raif says:

to be honest RvP is playing rather Crap, and comes far far to deep to get the ball. when he does there is NO ONE in the bloody Box. as ADE has peeled off to the Wings.

very annoying. i want to see ADE & VELA upfront. a good little and large combo.

    Cole dig at Gunners style

Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole has told Arsenal their fancy football means nothing without medals.

The Gunners have not won a trophy since their FA Cup victory in 2005 and look unlikely to challenge for the Premier League this season after losing five games already.

And Cole, whose Chelsea side host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, said: “In fairness to Arsenal, they are playing nice football but look at the past four years and who’s won the trophies? ”

He added: “They are fantastic to watch but I wouldn’t want to be playing for a team that didn’t win anything. Winning trophies is what counts.

“You are not going to be sitting on the beach in the summer at the end of the season speaking about that Cruyff turn you did back in December, or that nutmeg you did in January, are you?

“What’s the point in that? You want to be thinking about winning trophies. That’s what it’s all about.

“We want to put some silverware on the table this year. And that’s what we intend to do.”

  28. heh, idk… what i do know is that i have a good feeling about this game. manc’s on my birthday was always going to go well, and this is that same deal. i guess whoever plays doesn’t matter really, all we want is 3 points.

gonna throw it out there too but liverpool to be held by west ham too. =P

  29. London says:

I first open Le Grove at about 8 o’clock in the morning to find out what has been happening on the night shift then my thoughts turn to the idea of if I had to write today’s post what I would say and 90% of the time I am at a loss. It is at this point that I realise how difficult it must be to come up a fresh idea every day and it is for the fact that both you and Pedro manage to do just that, I salute you both.

I reckon that Wenger’s formation on Tuesday was practice for today’s game. It was a bit dull with the emphasis on keeping a clean sheet. I have gone on all season that the sole reason for Song being at the club is for today’s game. I thought his tackling, his passing and his positional play took a step forward on Tuesday but I of course know that they have to take another leap forward for today’s game; although, I still have faith that he can do that. So with that hope in my heart I believe that we can beat Chelsea with Alexandre Song playing today.

    Diaby
    Ade

    Vela should play, high time

    Hmmm let me think

    Almuina
    Sagan, Gallas, Silvest, Clichy
    Dinilson, Cesc, Song, Nasri,
    Ade, Rvp,

thats what i think wenger would play.

but i would like Song out with somone else lol. maybe Rambo or Diaby

    THEO WALCOTT QUICK RETURN
Crocked Arsenal winger could be back by February

    THEO WALCOTT – quick healer

    By AIDAN MAGEE, 29/11/2008
THEO WALCOTT could be back an incredible TWO MONTHS ahead of schedule.

The Arsenal wing wizard dislocated his shoulder on England duty and Arsene Wenger feared his teenage star was sidelined for four months.

But following an operation to repair the shoulder ligaments, Walcott’s surgeon is confident he could be back by the end of January.

Walcott, 19, has a reputation as a quick healer.

And sources close to the former Southampton star believe he could easily be fit before England’s next game against Spain on February 11.

  40. gooner 2 says:

In 3 years cesc WILL go. Why? Because the man blocking his place at barcelona, xavi, is now 28 and therefore will be 31 in 3 years time. Then and only then is he ripe for replacement by cesc at barcelona – and cesc and his manager know that, as much as they knew and saw that cesc would never get his chance at barcelona as early as at arsenal. This is what i call perfect career planning. Wenger knows all of that and therefore ramsey is being groomed as cesc’s sucessor for the next 3 years. And with cesc having a contract until 2014 wenger is sure to either get a good transfer fee from barcelona or that cesc will have to pay some good money should he decide to buy out the remainder of his contract.

  41. choy says:

i think ramsey will be a good replacement for cesc in 3 years time!!

  42. ikon says:

Diaby is injured?? didnt know that.

Well then RVP and Ade upfront is the only choice we have.

But not playing seasoned wingers in their proper places is hurting the team.

Teams would easily know by now that Nasri comes inside almost everytime, and right wing is useless without theo. Ramsey was piss poor midweek there. At least vela has played a whole season on the flanks, and he can own bosingwa whenever he wants.

But Arsene as we all know would want to play song. I see no way in us winning or even drawing if song plays in mid.

  43. ikon says:

Ramsey can easily fit beside cesc. and imho… cesc is irreplaceable, much like henry, pires and viera.

  44. London says:

Gooner2 – Nail on the head.

I would bet a lot of money that the Cesc situation unfolds exactly as you have just described.

  45. choy says:

we need vela on the left wing.. that boswinga will rape nasri and clichy just like ashley young did to sagna an clichy!!!

  46. choy says:

    i mean sagna and theo

  47. London says:

    Choy

I’m with you I would prefer Vela on the left but it will be Nasri as he has some defensive qualities where as Vela has none.

  48. gnarleygeorge9 says:

A word or 2 re Ashley Cole

    1. If he had not played in the Champions League Final in Paris, Arsenal would have won. Ashley Cole cost us the Title,

    2. If Arsenal had not fielded their juniors against Chelskis seniors in the Carling Cup, we would have won the Title,

    3. If Chelski don’t win anything this year, it will be 3 years since they have won a Title, &

    4. Gael Clichy is a superior player to Ashley Cole.

    4.

  49. Stu says:

Morning everyone, Vela wont get a start because he never does. Why start your on form striker when you have a fit Ade and RvP? Wenger knows!

  50. finestcuts says:

Chelsea talk about trophies, but the same applies to them, did they win a trophy last season? Almost. But so did we, we almost won the title. So their trophy talk is of the Jose Mourinho days, and when Roman was winning trophies he still got bored and wanted some proper football, and sacked Mourinho. So Joe Cole can ask Abramovitch those questions, and what about their losses against Carling cup teams, is it because Chelsea played fancy football and didn’t win?
Will the game be very tactical? Yes, but both teams will play attacking and open football, both are designed to play like that, however if Chelsea score first, they’ll probably try to lock it up, if we score first we’ll go for the second goal.

  51. choy says:

but who will play on the right then london? please not denilson!!!

  52. choy says:

    I hate chelsea

  53. Stu says:

gg9, i completely agree with the first point but i dotnunderstand how he cost us the CC final.

  54. Geoff says:

London, thanks, it’s because I love Arsenal so much talking about them comes so easy, I’m the one no one asks how Arsenal are doing at a party!

As for Cole saying who’s won all the trophies for the last 4 years, who won them all the 4 years before that? and what did those cunts win before Gangster boy drifted into town with all his stolen money eh? Fuck all and no league title for 50 years, cunts.

  55. Kevin says:

I want wneger to play nasri alongside cesc. Meaning he plays rvp out wide, and probably…………………well hopefully he plays rambo out on the wing. We must ATTACK because we cannot defend. I will not accept him playing both denilson, and song in the same side. Everytime he has done that we have looked terrible.

  56. doublegooner says:

The project of creating a 15 / 20 year production line only serves to make us an upmarket Crewe.

If you look at exceptional talent like Wilshire & Ramsey developing at the same time, can they really fit into the same playing side together with Cesc, or does that mean we’ll lose Cesc or one of the other two in the next couple of years. If they did all play together the side would still be too light & inexperienced & likewise even without cesc we’d still need the the experienced CM.

I think Coqelin looks a very intersting prospect but again he’s at least 12/18 months away & he’d have to come into a lightweight team if we carry on the currect policy.

Unless we add experience we’ll continue this cycle of what we’ve become in the last 3 years & win nothing.

Does this policy support ‘ we have to sell before we can buy’ theory ?

  57. London says:

    Choy

I am afraid so he is going to play Denilson on the right. Wenger practised in the week with Denilson playing left wing. I don’t agree with it.

  58. gallic says:

Play to win and not entertain and the gunners will be on the way.If the gunnerws insist on passing and passing, it’s the end.

  59. Stu says:

If Wenger sees Cesc as a 26year old, does that also mean that when Cesc reaches 30 (in Wengers mind) will he even still be here and if so, will AW only offer him a 1year conract?

  60. Geoff says:

Double it doesn’t because we sell 3 and buy one, and the one we buy is 21.

  61. doublegooner says:

The arguement about whether there is or isn’t transfer funds available doen;t hide the fact of the ridiculous tactical choices Wenger goes for like Denilson on either wing or playing Song at all let alone at RB with Eboue in front like he did earlier.

  62. Geoff says:

Double, you are spot on my friend, spot on.

  63. doublegooner says:

    Geoff:

I suppose I was trying to make the same point.

  64. Stu says:

I cant believe im saying this but i wold much rather have Eboue on the right that have Denilson on either wing. Denilson is not now and never will be able to play wide.Another thing that AW doesnt seem to realise.

  65. patthegooner says:

The thing is, it is not personal Alex Song, I am sure you are a nice bloke, and it is not your fault that you are being picked,

But this is going to have to get personal soon. If this insistence to play a liability continues, I fear it is time for some banners to let Wenger know that we are not amused.

I can only think that this is stubborness due to the Exceptional Talent Visa. If this was a football version of the X-Factor, he would not have got passed the auditions. If this was his first season then you would maybe understand it, but he has been here years, and has shown no improvement on talent, potential or class. I honestly think his level is maybe Championship but definately not Premiership and definately not CL and Top 4 Premiership.

Wenger I will give yourself and the rest of the Scouts and Coaches ultimate respect for uncovering and nurturing the likes of Ramsey, Cesc, Wilshire, Afobe, Vela etc but you seriously have got it wrong with song.

Prediction today Chavski 2 Arsenal 3 (Ade 2, Song 1 (Well he is bound to now))

  66. doublegooner says:

Most are of the opinion that we want Wenger to get it right & of course his past achievements, on & off the field are unquestionable, however this is now & that was then & we cannot carry on as a club as we have done the last 3 years.

I cannot see what it is going to achieve.

He just worries me as I wonder whether his best days may have past.

It has been pointed out a few times on different media/blogs that Wenger has been known in his past as Mr Nearly Man. I was reading the biography by the guy Rivoire, which was very good, but it does make you think that.

I also believe that on each ocassion we have won a title we have never then repeated it the following year when we really should have done.

  67. doublegooner says:

The Chavs are a nothing club.

I posted some link from one of their blobs this week where they were bemoaning their own support & the fact what is the point of considering a new 60000 stadium when they couldnt seel out for today !

  68. kelsey says:

Geoff well said in this mornings post.i actually wonder if wenger thinks anymore before making quotes like the above.
In wengers 12 years how many have come through the youth system to the first team.
Disregarding Vela, who is an aged pro at nealy twenty,we have ramsey and Wilshere who look like making the grade, though i am a supporter of simpson, who at least looks like a striker and always has one thing on his mind to try and score. He was i mpressive against wigan and at least offers as much as nicci at he moment.of all the others they might get a living in the PL.
Ade is out of form, but his presence upfront will cause problems,if he remembers the offside rule.

Today i fondly remember the kanu hat trick when we were 2-0 down and i still don’t know how he scored the third.

I fear for us today and a draw would be a good result.how often lately we have gone ahead only to lose, but of course there is no drogba or senderos today.

If wenger wants a production ine of kids then i suggest he gets a job as c.o. with ford.

  69. gunner says:

The point about these young players is they will deliver in three to five years. Can AW guarantee they will really blossom. I’m afarid he won’t be able to give a 100% guarantee. These players need time and they willl not be risked if Arsenal lurch from defeat to another. I’m not saying the gunners will lose to Chelsea but the blues are favourites.
On another note,Cole has said Chelsea play to win and not entertain. I am in in full agreement with this statement.Enuf has been said and written about this topic. All top managers play to win and not entertian and weave intricate patterens which confuse even their own players.
Incidentally the WBA manager has stuck to his guns regarding pretty soccer. He has refused to play to win.
Well I’m afraid when relegation rears its ugly head at the club doors will he forced to change tack. The same with Arsenal.
As we all know it’s hard to combine pretty soccer and win. Only AW believes it can be done. He has been proven wrong these few seasons . Maybe he will get it right this time.If he were to lose toniteneed I say anymore.

  70. Mandanda says:

Song’s average but appears to be our most disciplined player in the CM position. I’ve had the Song debates several times on here and would not be having anymore, so this is my last word on Song. The problems in the team goes far beyond Song and quite frankly it starts to get tedious/boring/meaningless/retarded when all you see on the blog is Song this Song that…

However, seeing how well Yaya Toure played last night for Barca, I would like to see us try a player of a similar build in JD tried in that holding position in midfield.

I’m going for a draw today, a win wld be a massive bonus. Have a nice day grovers

  71. patthegooner says:

retarded, that is a bit Strong Mandanda, I was ok with your post until that word came out.

The Post was about Song, so we are posting our views on him.

You are correct though the problems are beyond Song, he is merely the make-weight to fill the problem that was created by not replacing Flamini, Diarra and Gilberto.

    My team for today:

    Clichy Gallas Djourou Sgana

  73. doublegooner says:

You mentioned the Kanu hat trick & that makes today a good omen as that was the last chav away game I missed being away on business until today when I have had to sell my tickets for a family function starting at 5pm..:(

Maybe we’re gonna do it !

  74. patthegooner says:

I am actually in no doubt that if you asked Wenger at Gunpoint (As it is the only way he would not answer with Spin) why the three were not replaced then he would be honest and say that he thought that Denilson and Song would step up to the plate just like Flamini did, and now it is just a case of persistence in the vain hope that one of them might become a World-Class Midfielder…..Which we all know is not going to happen.

I just hope that despite the public spin, that he realises that he did get it wrong. i guess we will all know by Jan the 31st

  75. Bob says:

FGS put Djourou as Cm, he can’t be any worse than Song or Denilson.

  76. gnarleygeorge9 says:

he didn’t, if we had played our senior team we would have won.

Alright just going for a few zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz’s see you just before kick off.

  77. kelsey says:

    pat,
good morning.i have had this discussion before about certain players stepping up,and you mention denilson and song yet you could include nicci and theo as well.At the end of last season there was only 10 weeks until we started with preseason tournaments.players don’t step up in such a short time.i am also pretty sure that if we had a more experienced and larger squad, theo would still be held back as physically he needs beefing up and ,he is not a regular in the starting 11,if you get my point.Players dont peak at 19 or 20 and many nnever make it.We have been forced to play players who should still be understudies.

  78. Stu says:

gg9, i stil dont get what that has to do with Cashley tho.

  79. patthegooner says:

    Morning Kelsey

I agree with that, If I am being honest, I did expect more from Theo and Nic.

I think Theo will make it but I dont think Nic will. I can see him ending up in a position similar to Sidwell and Bentley, good players but not quite top four quality.

  80. blazon says:

    geoff…

your Song phobia is spoiling the pleasure of reading an otherwise excellent blog…you’ve said it once, you’ve said it a thousand times, we know how you feel, you don’t pick the team, move on.

there are those of us who may feel exactly the same about him – or other players…in my case it’s Denilson… I think he’s the epitomy of mediocrity…he can’t shoot, he can’t tackle, he passes sideways, he flinches on 50/50 balls, he falls over on minimal contact- etc etc etc…blah blah blah…I could go on and on about him, his presence appalls me…but say it and then desist.

    I love the blog, cheers.

Hey I don’t wanna hear it either. Song is an obvious problem, so obvious that every Arsenal fan can see it, and that’s why he’s getting stick. When such an obvious problem is sorted out, then we’ll hear the end of it. I agree that there are more issues than just Song in the team, but I don’t think those who currently hold a critical opinion of Song would disagree. Lets hear the end of it and sort the problem out.

  82. avenell says:

    Morning Grovers..

Geoff what are your views on that Alex Song bloke??

  83. Donjohnni says:

what the hell are you drivelling about? No 30 year olds and some 25 year olds? We already have those. Wow! You are a footballing genius. PS I hate your guts.

  84. kelsey says:

    avenell.,

you are a cheeky bastard but i love your sense of humour. :)

  86. Sharky says:

On Song? very much not I’m afraid chaps……putting it in to Queen’s English……………………..he’s fuckin shite mate! Cmon the Arse, do the Chavs but with Song and Denilson…no way

  87. Rasputin says:

    Morning Grovers

It’s strangely quiet on here today. A cold, wet windy day would seem to favour the more physical team (not us!). I’m hopeful of a win, but a draw would not be a bad result. My optimistic hunch is that Ade will have a blinder and run their defence ragged and their recent mediocre form will contine. 2:1 to the Arsenal.

  88. avenell says:

    Kelsey.. :)

  89. Geoff says:

Avenall I’d like to know how he by-passed the reserves.

  90. Stu says:

We should buy Marlon King. Im being totally serial!

  91. finestcuts says:

Some gooners are going by the form book Rasptin and getting ready to be turned over by Chelsea. But it’s a derby, the form book isn’t accurate when it comes to derbies, that’s what’s in our favour and these sorts of weather conditions are very good for us.

    Current Nearest Observations:
    cloudy 3°C
    N (8 mph)
    Relative Humidity (%): 93,
    Pressure (mB): 993, Falling,
    Visibility: Moderate

Low wind, low pressure, light rain = we can run loads, put the workrate in and not overheat, light rain makes the ball faster, our game is suited to today’s weather.

  92. chris says:

interesting read this morning, good stuff, i wonder is it juts goal keepers

for streaming the match today go here,
http://www.veetle.com/viewChannel.php?cid=48cb03bd8ab18 download teh veetlke program and you will have fox soccer channel i like it but make sure you get eth software now and not at 4oclock

  93. avenell says:

Theo by-passed the reserves…. and Ramseys doing it now too..

When we send a player out on loan, it’s normally the beginning of the end, not many have made it back.. Song has..

up until January has got to be his last chance and he hasn’t stepped up so, Wenger will buy a player for his position and he will go back to 4th choice or be sold!!

All those who wanted Roy Keane as manager… Have you read todays headlines??

  94. Rasputin says:

Finest – I love your attention to detail, you should be appointed official stato for the site!

OK so you’re saying the weather favours us. We don’t quite have the riches in players with ‘ball control’ we used to, but I hope you are right. From an analytical point of view, there are many other parameters to consider – home advantage, recent form, match fitness etc etc – it’s a good thing games aren’t decided by mathematicians otherwise we wouldn’t win any at the moment!

  95. patthegooner says:

    Chris

Thanks for the link to Veetle, I had heard about it but never tried it.

Is the Quality always that good?

  96. avenell says:

Finest…. When is high tide on the Thames? For when the ball boys have to retrieve the ball from one of RVP’s free kicks.. :)

  97. Rasputin says:

    avenell ;)

  98. chris says:

for me in ireland pat, yes. only small issue is tends to need updating every week or so when u expect just to get eth match so that is why i suggest doing it now so all u have to do is hit teh link later and u should be laughing

  99. chris says:

so what is the biggest joke of the day,

Roy Keane who is a cunt,
Joe Cole saying he would not like to play for us
or woodgate claiming they will finish in the top 6

  100. choy says:

i think we stopped running a long time back!! nowadays we just stroll about the park!!!

  101. Geoff says:

Yes Avenall but Theo and Rambo are fantastic footballers, Song can’t even pass the ball to one of his own players.

Theo scored a hat trick for England and Ramsey scored two blinders for the Wales under 21′s against England, Song’s not in the same class.

If you believe he is pray enlighten me.

  102. rookie says:

    any link for todays game?????

  103. xeeez says:

Hiya grovers let us kick some Russian ass!

  104. rookie says:

and people who think that Xavi is a hindrance in cesc’s transfer that is completely wrong…. Barca are not waiting for three years they are constantly trying….Marc Ingla admitted that they asked about cesc during the summer when they were negotiating for hleb but arsenal said they want to build team around him…..so no chance of transfer right now….although it can happen after three years but not due to xavi….

  105. chris says:

rookie see my above post, @ 12:10

  106. rookie says:

    hows this link chris?????

i mean better than justin & sopcast?????

  107. charybdis1966 says:

Afternoon all, fingers crossed for a continuaton of the Chav’s poor form to heap pressure on Ken Livingstone’s long lost brother….

  108. chris says:

i find justin a joke frankly put sometimes needs must prevail,

so far it seems the best option try it now i assume the manu match will be on it also, i also use sopcast but like i said so far eth better choice and its in english

  109. chris says:

hello chary, good to see u

  110. charybdis1966 says:

Hello chris – hope you’re well. I’m half way between the feeling of the ManU game and the Citeh game – sneakily thinking we could win it or expecting to fall flat.

  111. rookie says:

    chris how to use it?????

  112. georgian-gunner says:

hi all, gonnertalk’s match prediction is 3-0, are they ok?! or are they spuds fun????? http://goonertalk.com/2008/11/30/match-preview-chelsea-v-arsenal-premier-league/#comments

  116. charybdis1966 says:

Yes Chris, I did see the Dirk test run of 2 Merc’s but it was on the Fiver digital channel also.

I liked his comment after being told about test-driving second hand cars “I’m a big fan of second hand things – second hand career and second hand women”.

It’s the way he tells ‘em.

And at the end he says “Can I take my toupee off now ?” :)

  117. rookie says:

chris i ve downloaded it and installed it i have made an account at veetle as well…. but now what???? what to do next??????

  118. arsenalised says:

  123. Confidentgoner says:

It seems the whole world know our current predicament. This from a Chelsea blog:

“Arsenal have very evident problems with (a) dealing with the aerial balls (b) handling the crosses in the box (c) defending set pieces (d) allowing on-target long shots as there are no/quality defensive midfielders (e) letting in on-target long shots thanks to Almunia (f) handling the opposition’s through the middle attacks (g) holding the ball in the midfield with cricketers like Song, Diaby, Denilson and Eboue. You heard it all here. If any team exploits all these weaknesses, they’re gonna score against Arsenal or even beat them. Chelsea has the specific qualities to take advantage of all these weaknesses.”

I think we need to go out there and spank them to keep them wondering what has hit em.

  124. avenell says:

Just over half an hour yet!!

  125. andy c says:

    afternoon grovers

hopefully histon can beat leeds and we get them

  126. Swedish Gun says:

    ahh..thats explains it :)

    forgot the 1h diff

    thx avenell

  127. andy c says:

who is the ref this afternoon?

  128. Confidentgoner says:

    avenell,

You reel out all the stats for players etc. Do you mind telling us which site you visit for these stats?

  129. Stu says:

    Confident,

why do you always have these quotes from Chelsea Blogs?

  130. andy c says:

    know thy enemy stu!

  131. Stu says:

But the chelsea bloggers are hardly our enemies. The club are but the fans aren’t really, but whatever.

  132. avenell says:

    Confident..

Why? Are the stats wrong? Let me know which ones are and I will check them If I get time..

  133. Ja_Gunner says:

    I would play this team.

    However I know Arsene wont.

    ………………….Almunia……………………..

    Sagna…….Gallas………Djourou/Sylvest…….Clichy

    ……………..Cesc…………..Song/Denilson………..

    Van Persie………….Nasri…………………..Vela…….

    ……………………Adebayor……………………………

The front four are free to attack. Cesc is free to join then when he wishes and pick them out from deep. Song/Denilson stay back and cover for Cesc when he goes a lil forward.

Vela prevents Bosingwa from attacking too much. Nasri would be much stronger down the centre, Van Persie cuts in to shoot, allowing Sagna to com up and cross sometimes. And if Ade actually stays in the box like last season he could score.

This is the best team based on who is available I think. Remember Kolo, Diaby and some others are out.

  134. andy c says:

it doesnt look like man city are gonna do us any favours, they cant string 3 passes together

  135. Just Stick It In! says:

all this talk from cole & their site really set this game up nicely.

no less than a win is what i expect from the gooners today.

think about it, a win today will send shockwaves to the other teams that we are baaaack in business!

  136. avenell says:

    Rooneys just scored.. :(

  137. andy c says:

fuck me histon have knocked leeds out

  138. andy c says:

he looked offside to me ave

  139. Swedish Gun says:

City defended like Arsenal and Hart is Almunias clown twin

  140. andy c says:

they had enough chances to get the ball clear

  141. charybdis1966 says:

I see the Chavs have got an easy home fa cup draw against Southend – just for a change.

  142. Seb says:

Song to score today in a 2-1 win for the Arse.

  143. choy says:

    arsenal vs plymouth… home

  144. avenell says:

We have drawn Plymouth at home .

  145. charybdis1966 says:

We’re home to Plymouth(in the FA Cup).

  146. choy says:

    FA Cup

  147. AJG says:

    Arsenal vs Plymouth FA cup

  148. charybdis1966 says:

Oh, 3rd one to the news !

  149. Swedish Gun says:

    nice draw

time for the cc team again

  150. avenell says:

Choy.. you were first and had further to come!!

  151. rsr123 says:

Arsenal vs plymouth in fa cup

  152. Stu says:

    Plymouth in the FA cup.

  153. choy says:

    hhehehe

  154. bergkamp says:

swedish i didnt think hart did a lot wrong

  155. Confidentgoner says:

    Stu,

I do that as a reality check. You know the famous saying. ‘don’t get high on your own supply”. Some of the views are no different from what we know already. its not that I support Chelsea but you gotta respect some blog opinions.

    Avenell,

The stats for Huntellaar, v Nisteroy were quite good.

  156. Stu says:

Hopefully we will have some new signings to show off. Might be just a bit too early tho.

  157. andy c says:

maybe eddie can play a part against plymouth?

  158. avenell says:

Confident… I got those off Wiki mate….. I know thet are not always right but they are the easiest.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki

  159. Stu says:

The wiki stats comparing the Dutch records of Huntelaar vs Van Nistelrooy made for some interesting readings, didnt it. Ruud only hit his top form at PSV. We should definately take a chance on Klaas-Jan.

  160. Swedish Gun says:

    bergkamp

    well.. I did

and im not just talking about this incident…he is really poor in the air aswell

  161. Ja_Gunner says:

  162. avenell says:

My point about the Wiki thing was.. When anyone says about Huntelaar, they say he only plays in the dutch league. But Eduardo only played in the Croaian league and that’s got to be worse than the Dutch one..
Yet Huntelaar has a far better scoring rate than Dudu in a more difficult league.

Huntelaar in the Champions league, the stats are good too 18 goals in 28 games!!

  163. Confidentgoner says:

    avenall,

Oh wikki! Well, sometimes you get the howler, but all in all very ok, Any news on our selection against the Russians?

  164. Stu says:

And he has a pretty good record for Holland too. Not sure what it is tho.

  165. avenell says:

    Ronaldo is OFF!!!!

  166. Stu says:

Hahahahahaha ronnie gets sent off!!! LOVELY!!!

  167. Confidentgoner says:

    avenall,

Yeah right, how about Hunt v Nistery? Stats are a part of the picture, not the full picture

  168. Ja_Gunner says:

    Red card for Cristiano Ronaldo!!!!!

I hope city can take advantage

  169. avenell says:

    10 goals in 18 games.. :)

  170. Stu says:

Huntelaar is a proven goalscorer and he would add much needed class to the team that is hugely lacking.

  171. charybdis1966 says:

    Greaseball sent off at (Middle)East-lands.

  172. avenell says:

Stats are all we can go on though… We cannot watch every game!! :)

  173. Stu says:

Actually Ajax were playing this morning but i forgot to watch. I think Huntelaar is injured tho because he hasnt played for a few games.

  174. JonJon says:

Hey there people, how are we all today,

avenall hows it hanging my main man???

Not long now, im excited like a kid a xmas.

  175. Swedish Gun says:

The Dutch league is not that good

Afonso Alves did something like 34 goals in 32 games

Huntelaars stats in the national team (10/18) is impressive but i rather have Villa

That would keep cesc happier also

  176. Stu says:

Almunia sana JD Gallas Clichy Denilson Song Cesc Nasri Ade RvP. I think thats right. Well at least JD is playing

  177. samui gooner says:

    song is playing ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  178. JonJon says:

what are the odds of a win for us today, and song man of the match???

  179. andy c says:

i reckon song is gonna prove us all wrong today and have a blinder, then the boss wont bother signing anyone

  180. samui gooner says:

jd for silvest ade up front with robin sagna back nasri back, ramsey and jack on the bench

  181. Swedish Gun says:

we loose to much creativity when both song and denilson plays

we are going to struggle today

  182. avenell says:

    JonJon… Getting nervous now..

Any luck with your avatar.. Theres a load of wordpress you tube clips if you can find one to help!!!

  183. Ja_Gunner says:

Why does he inssist on playing both Denilson and Song. It should be one or the other.

The only way both should play is if Song plays centre back.

And Vela should play left wing today and kep bosingwa busy.

Oh well lets see what happens.

  184. avenell says:

Fuck me what a save from Rooney.. :)

  185. Maqitlarge says:

    Anyone see Joe Harts’s save?

  186. London says:

    Stu

How certain are you of that team?

  187. JonJon says:

No luck mate, i’ll work it out soon though, what do i do just look for wordpress on you tube.

Ive got good vibes about today, chelsea havent been the dominant force they normally are at home this season and theyve had some dodgy performances recently, its a good time to play them

  188. avenell says:

    No.. ;)

  189. harlan says:

Now we don’t have much quality, our team is now made of a bunch of average players who Arsene intends to hold on to because they are french or speak French.Namely:

    1. Diaby-average and always injured
    2. Eboue-average and lazy, don’t chase the ball if loses them
    3. Denilson-average and not a defensive midfielder
    4. Song-average and not of Arsenal quality
    5. Almunia-an average player who can’t be a reserve GK in Spain’s national team and yet plays for the Arsenal.

The above players are not first XI quality yet, Arsene plays them all the time, why?

Instead of Arsene recruiting better players he keeps on recruitment average players who are doing more harm than good for the team.

  190. Stu says:

Rooney is so shit to not have scored that

  191. Stu says:

London, it flashed across on sky sports. Im about 99% sure that thats it.

  192. Paul88 says:

    TEAM

    Manuel Almunia
    Bacary Sagna
    William Gallas
    Johan Djourou
    Gael Clichy
    Denilson
    Alex Song
    Cesc Fabregas
    Samir Nasri
    Emmanuel Adebayor
    Robin Van Persie

  193. London says:

    Ja-Gooner

Wenger tries to make a triangle of Denilson and Song with Fabregas Just in front.

  194. London says:

I can only imagine that he has chosen Djourou over Sylvestre to combat Anelka’s pace. Not a bad decision. I’m bored of the manc fest.

  195. avenell says:

Ronaldo handballed it.. you tossers stop defending the twunt!!!!

  196. avenell says:

Jonjon here’s a foreign one, it gives you a start!!

    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pXtwGwov0r0&translated=1

  197. London says:

    MU TV makes me sick

  198. Stu says:

I dont think he is going for a triangle because Denilson looks like hes being put wide. Unless AW is playing 4-5-1 with RvP and Nasri wide. Its a weird situation because when he plays wide for us he is absolutely useless but for Holland wide he is amazing. Go figure!

  199. London says:

Yeah, I think your probably right there Stu

  200. JonJon says:

    team news

    Manny
    sagna jd gallas clichy
    denilson cesc song nasri

  201. raif says:

    woop woop. whats cracking grovers

  202. London says:

OK, big boy football is about to start.

  203. raif says:

    London

im feeling bullish. i think we can we today.

do we have any links to watch the game?

  204. raif says:

Is it Wrong of me to wish Song gets a Serious injury? not today but in general so Wenger is forced to play somone else :)

  205. Maqitlarge says:

These Sky pundits are so pro Chelsea. An ex Chelsea player and Frank Lampards cousin. Shock!!!
I hope we smash them and lets see what they say then.

  206. JonJon says:

    No it isnt wrong raif,

i wake up every morning hoping song has damaged the tendons in his knees and is out for 24mnths,

alas, every morning he dissapoints me,

  207. Rohan says:

we need acouple of early goals within the first half hour or else chelseas could grow on us as the game wears on and force the knockout punch in the second half.
have a feeling rvp is going to have a blinder, he is due one of those games

  208. Rob From Aus says:

just seen the team line up and guess what???

SONG is Starting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHy oh WHY

  209. Geoff says:

    Song, for fucks sake.

  210. Rob From Aus says:

Why does AW hate us so much??>>

  211. Rob From Aus says:

he is our defensive mid!!!! My fucking god what a calamity!!!

  212. Rob From Aus says:

    8-0 to Chelsea now

    Song 7 own goals

  213. avenell says:

    C’mon Alex Bilong!!!! ;)

  214. paul says:

Anyone know of a stream showing the game

  215. Maqitlarge says:

Also Denilson is RM. We’re going to have no pepentration that side. Hopefully we’re still in it on 70 mins when Wenger makes his subs and brings on Vela

  216. raif says:

    anyone got a link
    ?

  217. Geoff says:

Denilson and Song, fuccking hell Wenger, what are you looking at.

  218. Maqitlarge says:

Denilson already gone AWOL from the right

  219. Stu says:

Denilson appears to be right mid but instead of that maybe he should have gone 4-5-1. Thats the system that suits the players the most. Nasri left, RvP right (like he is for Holand) and Cesc as the no.10.

  220. Maqitlarge says:

    sing it boys

  221. Joe says:

CLichy seriously needs to buy a copy of clearancing for dummies.

  222. Metal Gear says:

Great team selection Wenger Denilson on the right? Song playing? WTF anyway great post Geoff Wenger talk’s a lot of shit he was quoted yesterday saying that he said he was gonna sign a player but he didn’t no Hleb was gonna leave ‘’Hleb was gonna leave’’ wasn’t he under contract? I personally don’t rate Hleb as much as others do but he along with Rosicky and Fabregas made our back 4 last season look so good because they would retain the ball so much that they would tire out the opposition it is a effective tactic if your 1 nil up and that’s another reason why Wenger should have signed a few. We all know Walcott cant keep the ball (though he is out of position) neither can Nasri (though it is his first season) so we’re more likely 2 lose the ball and with no ball winner the defense gets tested far more often and it has not got nothing 2 do with protection name me 1 game last season where we played shockingly bad and won…..exactly that’s what steel is it’s the ability 2 dig deep and grind out results that’s what makes U a top team and we simply don’t have

On another note hopefully we can win this game and all the others so we can quickly get 2 January and if this deluded, stubborn and arrogant Frenchman decides 2 continue his flawed and short-sighted experiment and not sign any1 he has got 2 go.

  223. Stu says:

Va persie is a twat, just fucking boot it!

  224. paul says:

My god we look shakey need to settle down

  225. Maqitlarge says:

    fuck off ref

  226. Maqitlarge says:

    corner – big willy time

  227. Stu says:

Song has an AMAZING lack of pace!!!!!

  228. Ja_Gunner says:

did you guys see Kalou run past Song as if he wasnt there. lol

    That was funny.

  229. Swedish Gun says:

atleast the spuds are down 0-1 :)

  230. Maqitlarge says:

we look like an under 21 team playing a team of seasoned pros…. oh wait!!

  231. Stu says:

Isnt it annoying how fucking greedy van persie is with the ball. Why cant he ever pass!

  232. Joe says:

Anelka’s got some pink on his boots..

  233. Swedish Gun says:

    http://myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=24936&part=sports

there is a couple of links and software

  234. paul says:

    Much better

  235. raif says:

    Stu

RvP is a cunt. glory seeking all the time

ahhh a Tap in was all tht was needed

  236. Metal Gear says:

Yeah song is 2 slow coupled with clumsiness is a recipe for disaster really. aint it funny how Arsenal are performing now?

  237. raif says:

is anyone else suprised that JD is playing over Silvest?

  238. Joe says:

    Hahahaha

  239. Ja_Gunner says:

Why is Song playing so high?

He needs to stay back because he is soooooooooo slow.

  240. Stu says:

Im not suprised that JD is playing but I always thought he was a right sided defender and Gallas was left but the are set up Gallas – JD.

  241. Joe says:

raif, Wenger said it was purely on JD’s speed on Silvestre’s

  242. raif says:

    Sagna looks error prone today

  243. Maqitlarge says:

haha – Shit club no history!

  244. Stu says:

Sagna is suffering from second season sindrome(spelling?).

  245. JonJon says:

weve settled down but we need to score 1st

  246. goonermichael says:

My fucking dreambox has gone down

  247. Swedish Gun says:

sagna dont have hleb to help him anymore

  248. Stu says:

    Ivanovic looks good doesnt he.

  249. Maqitlarge says:

why are we given them so much room, especially in midfield??!!

  250. Metal Gear says:

On sopcast what channel is it?

  251. Stu says:

Sagna didnt have Hleb last season either. We played with Hleb in the hole for most of last season because Van Persie was out. Eboue was Sagnas partner on the right.

  252. JonJon says:

we give everyteam we play room in midfield, because we dont have a quality DM

  253. Joe says:

    I hate this ref

  254. Geoff says:

Yeah we do, we have Song.

  255. Maqitlarge says:

has this ref got a chelsea shirt on?

  256. Stu says:

Denilson dilly dallying on the ball in the most stupid of areas. FUCK!!!!

  257. Joe says:

    Deco or Ballack.. Great

  258. Maqitlarge says:

    Andy Gray too

  259. Joe says:

    Woopdee fucking doo

  260. Ja_Gunner says:

We are being out hassled and out muscled.

Once our players come under pressure, they wilt and give the ball away.

  261. Maqitlarge says:

Well played Almunia. Well fucking played!

  262. Joe says:

what the fuck was that roll for?

  263. Stu says:

    Well done!!!

  264. JonJon says:

fuck sake, why did almunia throw it out so quick????

we fucked now, we needed the first goal

  265. Toxic says:

    shit.

  266. Geoff says:

That was all down to Almunia what a diabolical throw, cunt.

  267. Maqitlarge says:

We’re so fucking naive its rediculous

  268. Metal Gear says:

Almunia U twat U 3rd choice cunt!!!!!!! you’ve just proved once again your not good enough U dickhead.

  269. Ja_Gunner says:

Our players cant play once you close down space on them. Chelsea are hunting in packs.

Surrounding our players that have the ball.

But yeah that was Almunia’s fault for sure.

  270. raif says:

    Almunia is a cunt

  271. JonJon says:

almunias fucking had enough games now, mad jens was dropped after two mistakes, how many does manny have to make???

  272. Rob From Aus says:

Ok Can some one answer me this?

    A) What the fuck was Alcalamitymunia thinking with that crap throw?

    B) Whats the point of having a defensive mid that is more foward than our Playmaker?

    C) Why start Song?

    D) wheres the fucking heart in this team apart from Cesc & Ade?

    Finally…… Why Start SONG???????

    Anybody please Enlighten me?

  273. Joe says:

    What a tackle

  274. Pat says:

    fucking almunia

  275. Ja_Gunner says:

This why every team is upping their game against us.

Because thwy know once they harass, close down space double and triple team our players…they wilt and give the ball away

  276. Stu says:

We are going to get fuck all today. I dont know why im even bothering to watch this shit. Fabianski is a must from now on. And Wenger definately needs to spend big in the window. As of about 5minutes ago we are effectively out of the race.

Im off to have my dinner!

  277. kelsey says:

100% almunia’s fault and nasri is out of his depth as is denilson, not over yet.

  278. Maqitlarge says:

    Diving little prick

  279. JonJon says:

Big game GK my arse, why do we persist with a GK that isnt even first choice for his country.

Hes crap and so is denilson and song

  280. redallover says:

Pi** poor keeping, we are under pressure so just hold on to it for a few seconds, let everyone regain their composure then play it out, dont play it straight to the bloody opposition as fast as possible

  281. Stu says:

    JonJon,

in all fairness to Almunia, he is from Spain and they have class keepers. Casillas, Reina, Palop, even Valdez is far better tan him.

  282. JonJon says:

he’ll be injured again now, just like against man utd, big game bottler,

  283. JonJon says:

So why play him then, why do we persist with a GK whos second rate in his homeland???

  284. Pat says:

Fuck almunia. CL final set his fate. He sucked and things havn’t changed.

    theo is a huge miss

  285. Metal Gear says:

It’s not the first time he has thrown the ball out so quickly he did it last season in this very ground when Sagna was off for treatment he should have held the ball then and we conceded.

    Lehmann was right about him.

  286. Ja_Gunner says:

    This ref is an idiottttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  287. Joe says:

Haha, Denilson just summed himself up: “BULL SHIT”

  288. Pat says:

This might sound crazy, but I think Eboue would be really useful on the right-hand side today.

  289. Geoff says:

Joe, you mean BALL SHIT don’t you!

  290. Metal Gear says:

Wenger should bring on Vela at half time and take off that attacking midfielder Song.

  291. Pat says:

    7 league goals without a reply….

I miss Eboue in these big games. Our right-hand sideis usually impenetrable with him and Sagna. And they link well.

  292. Ja_Gunner says:

This just shows that defeNDing is a TEAM EFFORT.

    WE HAVE GOOD INDIVIDUAL DEFENDERS.

JOHAN IS ONE OF THEM BUT BECAUSE THE TEAM IS SHITTY, THE DEFENSE IS UNDER TOO MUCH PRESSURE.

WE NEED TO ATTACK AS A TEAM AND DEFEND AS A TEAM..LIKE MAN UNITED, CHELSEA ETC.

IT DOESNT MATTER HOW GOOD YOUR DEFENDERS ARE IF THEY ARE UNDER SUSTAINED PRESSURE THEY WILL MAKE MISTAKES.

  293. Pat says:

“Ominously for Arsenal, Chelsea haven’t conceded a second half goal in the league this season. Strong stat that.”

    Shit

  294. Metal Gear says:

    AKB are U watching this?

  295. Joe says:

Did anyone else just see that? Gallas, Sagna and Almunia: “You take it”, “No you take it”

  296. Pat says:

    Channel – 6003

  297. Ja_Gunner says:

Our players are too weak…except for Ade.

Song is also strong, but he is slow and deosnt seem as fit as the others.

  298. Maqitlarge says:

thinking gthe same thing Ja. Denislon especially

  299. Ja_Gunner says:

Our players get pushed off the ball so easily its unbelievable.

  300. JonJon says:

wenger wont make any changes at halftime, he’ll wait until the 88th minute.

  301. Pat says:

So, another locker room bust up coming up?

Almunia is such shit and I don’t we’ll ever win a PL game with Song and Denilson BOTH playing.

  302. Maqitlarge says:

Return of the Jedi on ITV. MIght go with that! :-)

  303. Ja_Gunner says:

Our players cant play once you close down space on them. Chelsea are hunting in packs.

Surrounding our players that have the ball.

  304. raif says:

Wengers Half time team talk better be good

  305. David says:

Well maybe the Pink Boots will come on and save the day

  306. Rob From Aus says:

    This so fucking frustrating!!!

We are Too Weak, To Slow, And have Zero Heart!!

RVP – Get Off your Arse. He hits the ground quicker that a Thai Hooker!!!
Song – STOP ATTACKING!!!! Your Putting Cesc Outa tHe Game!!!
Almunia – You Will Never Play For Any Country Let Alone England!!!

My God Im Anooyed At This PAthectic Showing!!!

  307. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    stu

It was to do with coles comments about how arsenal won’t win anything the way they play total football, as per article choy posted, anyway

Arsenal have got to throw everything @ this mob in the 2nd half. Get song off bring on ramsay, vela & run @ the defence IMO

  308. rob says:

    here we go again….

Vela for song, denilson to the middle, nasri out right, Vela out let

    COME ON ARSENAL

  309. Metal Gear says:

Ja it’s not even that the player’s on the wing i.e Denilson is playing out of position he lacks skill and pace therefore it’s difficult 2 hold onto the ball Hleb and Rosicky were also lightweight but they were able 2 hold onto the ball for those reason I mentioned.

  310. kelsey says:

big ask now, against a team who has only conceded 4 all season.rvp is disapointing treying to many hollywood moves, our left side with clichy and nasri looks very vunerable,we are losing most 50=50 balls, just not playing as a team.if chelsea get a quick second i dread to think what the final score will be,to me its men playing against boys.

  311. Maqitlarge says:

bring on Luke (Sky)Wiltshire. The force is strong with this one…

  312. Paul88 says:

We’re simply not good enough, they’re far to experienced and strong for use. It doesn’t help when the bloody goalie gifts them a goal though.

  313. JonJon says:

    wengers team talk will be

    errrrr

    i believe in you

    errrrr

    your not shit

    errrrrr

lets go out there and pass pass pass and be patient

    errrrrrr

you are the best team ive had

    errrrrrr

dont worry, you’ll all get new double your wage contracts at the end of the season and none of you will be dropped.

  314. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    I feel for JD20

but I think it was a shitting throw out by the waiter that initilised the problem. Anyone?

  315. paul says:

This is not the Team i have grown to love

  316. rob says:

Is anyone out there depressed about this?????????

    ……………..

    Who will he bring on?

  317. ethangunner says:

that park bench is looking good eh geoff :) ?

  318. Paulinho says:

    Gael Clichy shit as usual.

Chelsea havent even got out of second gear.

  319. Paul88 says:

We’re far to brittle in midfield, it’s men against boys. Doesn’t help when your goaile gifts them goal though.

  320. Metal Gear says:

Can someone please tell me what the fuck Song is doing he’s not flamini he can’t do box-2-box no Stamina, Pace, strong tackling, covering and composure and yet he thinks he’s maradonna.

  321. Wolski says:

This is shit…..Denilson and Song have no place in this team if we are going to turn this and our season around. We are too lazy as a side….

Any decent keeper would have held on to the ball instead of throwing it straight out. Hold it, we are under pressure get them up the other end…unbelievable!

Will Wenger change it, like f… he will. I am struggling to see how things will get better while he persists with this….

    rant over….come on you reds….

  322. Maqitlarge says:

Lets see this so called spirit and character that Wenger keeps banging on about.

  323. Pat says:

So, lets be the first team this season to score against Chelsea in the 2nd half!

  324. Paulinho says:

What’s wrong with Nasri? He plays like a feckin cripple unless he’s in the final third. No tenacity at all in his play.

  325. ethangunner says:

it was nasri not closing down bosingwa on the cross for me !

  326. Rob From Aus says:

    Yeah GnarleyGeaorge!!

Almunia put that all on himself!!!!

Why tho does Mad Jens get dropped after 2 fuck ups, Yet Alcrapia fucks up all the fucking cunting time, yet still a starter, YET we have an INTERNATIONAL on the bench????

  327. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Marqitlarge

    Luke whitshire plays for Australia

  328. Metal Gear says:

Jon Jon so true so true.

  329. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    *whiltshire

  330. Paul88 says:

Lets throw vela on and just go for it.

If we can keep it at 1-0 you never know, we could nick a draw.

  331. patthegooner says:

Well it is hard to pick out any positives out of that,

What the Fuck has happened to us, where is the battle and creativity.

I just cant see where a goal is going to come from.

Wenger this is all your fault you fucking PRICK.

People keep saying give him time, but nigh on everyone of us said this was a weak squad going into the season, but he cant see it. He is turning into a dilussional old fool who is sadly performing the same trick as Brian Clough.

The Performances just aren’t good enough and I actually dont even enjoy watching the games at the moment, so why people keep going on about us being great to watch is beyond me, In how many games this season have we been good to watch?

Tell you what though SONG is not the worst player on the pitch today, we have another 10 of them. Nasri anonymous again, Denilson IS NOT A FUCKING WINGER WENGER YOU STUPID CUNT. ALMUNIA SHOULD NEVER START AGAIN. RVP AND ADE ARE NOT WORLD CLASS,

Sagna is my only bright light in the starting 11.

  332. Paulinho says:

Nasri looks like he’s doing an ice skating routine for their goal, back and forth….

  333. patthegooner says:

I think I just got moderated. Maybe one too many swear words.

Here is another, God we are SHIT

  334. Pat says:

Metal, I’m sure Wenger tells him his role and Song does as he’s told. I really wouldn’t doubt that.

  335. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Oh what the fuck I missed the 1st 15 minutes. Is the Jack Russell on the bench. Bring on Jacky Boy :P

  336. Rob From Aus says:

I hear Podolski is up for grabs in JAN!!! lets sign the cunt!!!

Also lets sign Moutinho so we can send SONG where he belongs to the fucking Feeder teams!

  337. Ja_Gunner says:

I thought this team would have worked well.

    …………………..Almunia…………………………..

    Sagna……..Djourou………Gallas………Clichy….

    …………….Song/Denilson…..Cesc……………

    Van Persie………..Nasri……………..Vela…….

    ………………….Ade………………………….

On the left wing Nasri keeps having to turn back cuz he cant get to the touchline.

Look what happened when he came more central against Manu, he scored 2 goals.

If we had the left footed speedy Vela out there…….then he could get past Bosingwa. Van persie can cut in facing the goal and shoot from the right.

  338. Geoff says:

Ethan, bring on Wilshere and Vela, take off Denilson and Song, those two are so bad I want to cry.

I’d say take Almunia off, but we may need to put Bendtner on as well.

  339. gnarleygeorge9 says:

I think we will win 1-2 I f we can get the 1st, Chelski will shit’em selves Ha Ha!!

But 1st get song & denilson off ;)

  340. patthegooner says:

When you look at that, I think we actually need to buy 2 central midfielders, and at least one Striker,

Oh and a Goal Keeper. Almunia is a fucking liability

  341. Paul88 says:

Nasri looked alot quicker on you tube than he does in the flesh.

  342. Metal Gear says:

Its Nasri’s first Season do U know how difficult it must be 2 adapt 2 this league? I don’t know but it sounds like a tough league 2 me and have U noticed Nasri has not been directly responsible 4 any of our goals and defeats we’ve conceded.

  343. raif says:

why must they make us suffer like this.

FUCK FUCK FUCK. SONG IS SHIT. DINILSON IS SHIT. we wont win anything with players like Song playing. and Keepers like ALMUINA playing in goal.

  344. Pat says:

My #1 target in Jan. is M’Bia, from Rennes. He’s a beast, an engine.

  345. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Geoff

    Great Minds ;)

  346. kelsey says:

if we lose this look at the tables, about 5 clubs behind us by one or two points

  347. patthegooner says:

We really need to start voicing our opinion about starting Denilson and Song every week.

I know it is not their fault but they would not get a game for West Brom, so why do they get one for Arsenal?

  348. ethangunner says:

and what the fuck has ade done ?

at least RVP has the bottle too take a shot !

  349. Rob From Aus says:

    Geoff are u serious???

Bendtner?? WHat would he do? his 3meter radius 1st touch would be gifting Ballack/Deco & Fat FRank the ball!!

Not dissing u or anything but Bendtner isnt cut out for this type of game mate.

  350. Maqitlarge says:

GG9 – Haha, Just having some light relief with return of the jedi! Little Jack reminds me of a young luke skywalker.
Its got to be better than Jamie – my cousin is soooooo good – Redknapp

  351. avenell says:

He should put Ramsey and Wilshere on now!! But I bet the first sub will be “Brightons no 1″
    At least the Spuds lost!!!

  352. paul says:

    At least the spuds lost

  353. Paul88 says:

    At least the spuds lost.

    Here we go………………….

  354. Stu says:

I cant imagine how AW is going to motiate the players at HT with a teamtalk because after 11years giving team talks he cant have any new ideas. Maybe he should just start hiting some people.

  355. Pat says:

Ade has held up play well enough but our players aren’t supporting him quickly enough. At least he doesn’t get muscled off.

  356. Paul88 says:

    Great minds paul…..

  357. ethangunner says:

Adebayor Adebayor give him the ball
and watch him pass off !

  358. Rob From Aus says:

    YAWN…….. yey the second half!

  359. patthegooner says:

Thank god for that, if the Spuds caught up another 3 points on us, I would start to get worried about them catching us.

Roll On Jan 1st or more likely the 31st when Wenger actually signs a competent footballer

  360. Geoff says:

I can’t think of who we have on the bench that would have a shot, save Wilshere and Vela and I already said put them on.

  361. jeremy says:

Y r u goin on n on abt Kolo., he’s injured… we r playin like shit hope the game changes in the second half!

  362. Metal Gear says:

Rob Bendtner may not be ready but lets say we get back in the game with 3 minutes 2 go and we got a set-piece wouldn’t U feel there’s more of a chance 2 score with Bendtner in the box?

  363. Stu says:

    Bendtner for RvP
Vela for Denilson and Ramsey for Song

  364. atlanta_gooner says:

Wenger will never change till the 70 th minute…what an ass

  365. paul says:

Could be worse fancy being a Leeds fan

  366. raif says:

so who thinks our players was arguing this time????

  367. Pat says:

Ramsey maybe?? He’ll get stuck in, thats for sure

  368. Ja_Gunner says:

    No changes lol.

    Arsene is crazy.

Its obvious thgat the team we have is not working.

  369. Maqitlarge says:

    nice move. Ade offside. Shock

  370. Stu says:

WHAT!!! Adebayor was offside. What has happened to the world!

  371. JonJon says:

Nasri aint a winger, he’s more dangerous in the centre

i wish wenger would stop fucking about with the players, hes ruining there natural games

  372. Metal Gear says:

    Who’s in the box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  373. Confidentgoner says:

    Ja,

That would work too, I have not been watching but I saw the last 10 mins. Looks like a game we may conceed more on the break than as a result of Chelsea play.

I think he should consider bringing in Vela, Ramsey and later Jack. There is not much else to do. We have a terrible coach and a terrible board.

  374. Stu says:

The best pass that Song has made all day went to a chelsea player.

  375. Metal Gear says:

Jon jon I agree he’s not a winger he seems more comfortable in the centre

  376. JonJon says:

Gallas is the closest thing we have to a fox in the box, he seems to be the only one in there when we hve the ball

  377. Pat says:

    Adebayoooooooooooooor, Adebayooooooooooooooooooooooor
Give him the ball, his touch is poooooooor!

  378. raif says:

    Metal Gear

NO ONE as fucking always. ADE goes to the wings all the bloody time. and RvP drops far to deep as always. so were left with fuck all in the box.

  379. Stu says:

Wenger doesnt buy wingers tho.He buys playmaker types that play wide : Freddie, Pires, Hleb, Rosicky and now Nasri.

  380. JonJon says:

Songs going to be chelseas man of the match

  381. Maqitlarge says:

If you were wathing this, and you didnt support Arsenal and didn’t know anything about whos where in the league, you’d say Arsenal were mid table at best.

  382. JonJon says:

he should buy wingers cos these lot cant do it, hes fooling himself if he can find another pires ofr freddie, they were one offs

  383. redallover says:

Please Arsene, if we are not going to win the midfield battle (they are stronger by far) then do it a Football Manager mate, bring on your skillfull attacking players and tell them to take the game to Chelsea, push up the pitch and lets see how they deal with Wiltshire and Vela running at them

  384. Metal Gear says:

Take off Denilson and Song now!!!!!! Wenger our title hope’s depend on it.

  385. Stu says:

    Dirty cunt ivnaovic tripping Ade.

  386. Pat says:

IF we had Drogba, that’d be a shot on goal, at least. Poor touch by Ade.

    Ade doesn’t look 100% fit

  387. raif says:

    Metal Gear

Title Hopes left us long time ago mate

  388. Maqitlarge says:

Why’s Wenger so frustrated? Their his players. He knows how good they are(n’t). Where’s the shock that this team is getting out played, out hustled, outmuscled and worse, out passed by this chelsea team of experience pros?

  389. JonJon says:

Now were resorting to long ball im disgusted

  390. paul says:

How can Wenger be happy with this

  391. Pat says:

    Cesc has been anonymous

  392. Metal Gear says:

    Riaf I know I know but….yeah I know.

  393. Stu says:

With players like Denilson and song getting starts we are definately heading for midtable. If we continue playing like this for the reat of the season we will be lucky to finish in the top half, let alone the uefa cup places.

  394. Maqitlarge says:

    Only pinky is warming up

  395. Maqitlarge says:

    GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  396. Ja_Gunner says:

Arsene is crazy, how can he expect Nasri in his first year to play on the left like Pires?

Nasri needs to play in the hole. There he could do what he did at Marseille.

I have not seen Nasri take ppl on like he did in France.

Other than adjusting the league….I feel its because he is not 100% comfortable on the left side.

    Again I say

    Almunia…………………………..

    Sagna……..Djourou………Gallas………Clichy….

    …………….Song/Denilson…..Cesc……………

    Van Persie………..Nasri……………..Vela…….

    ………………….Ade………………………….

  397. Truth says:

  431. Ja_Gunner says:

    Hey we are getting lucky.

  432. jimmyfingers says:

Half an hour left, plenty of time to fuck this up. Hope we don’t just try to defend the lead now

  433. atlanta_gooner says:

these young ones now need to defend for their LIFE

  434. Stu says:

Cometh the hour cometh the Van!!!

  435. Metal Gear says:

I need a reliable link please help me

  436. Ja_Gunner says:

    Van Persie finishing is excellent.

But I agree we dont deserve this lead.

But maybe its an ugly win on the way.

  437. Rob From Aus says:

    Lets all gather and pray!!!!

    Dear Lord,

Dont let Almunia fuck it up for us
Dont allow SONG to screw it up either
Bring on some decent players and see out the game

    AMEN

  438. raif says:

    RVP IS STILL SHIT

  439. Geoff says:

Now get Song and Denilson whilst we have a chance, they’re still shit.

  440. paul says:

If my alarm goes off now i will cry

  441. atlanta_gooner says:

    song misses the ball again!!!

  442. atlanta_gooner says:

    rob amen

  443. Stu says:

No fucking around now lads. Just get it away whenever necessary. There is always the chance that someone will try to be cute and end up fucking it up. Probably Denilson or Song or Clichy again.

  444. atlanta_gooner says:

clichy wins it and that fucking adebayor gives it again back to chelsea…fuck ade

  445. JonJon says:

Wenger bring on Vela perfect time Scolari as just taken off his anchor man.

  454. Stu says:

    Hacech things hes playing tennis.

  455. Swedish Gun says:

We must go for a third…we cant defend this

  456. JonJon says:

We cant sit back weve got to keep going forward, we dont have the players to defend a lead we need another

  457. redallover says:

  459. finestcuts says:

RVP….. this ones for all those doubters….come on ref, blow that whistle, we’ll take that 2-1!

    RVP!!

  460. Metal Gear says:

Atlanta that’s bullshit I think U should take that back Fabregas has shown incredible loyalty 2 us despite the fact he is in a now very average team and he plays with his heart.

  461. Maqitlarge says:

God, please don’t strike me down but well play Song

  462. atlanta_gooner says:

    sub gommmit arsene

  463. Stu says:

Fabregas definately plays with his heart. He loves this club and his goal celebrations can testify to that.

  464. atlanta_gooner says:

metal gear if I had to compare clichy to fabregas for heart …id pick clichy

  465. Maqitlarge says:

    This ref…..

  466. southcoastGooner says:

    Raif

I take it you was being sarcastic.

  467. atlanta_gooner says:

whoa ..you ppl its not like i said fabregas doesnt have heart…you guys need to back off…and read the statements properly

  468. Joe says:

FUCK OFF YOU CHEATING WASTE OF SPACE REFEREE

  469. Maqitlarge says:

legs are going…. make a sub!!! Ramsey!

  470. Metal Gear says:

I have 2 say VP celebration was gay

  471. freduardo says:

    this ref is a cock

  472. atlanta_gooner says:

WHAT IS SONG DOING IN THERE EXCEPT STANDING…cant even head the bloody ball

  473. Pat says:

Cesc has a huge heart, but I think CLichy has an even bigger one. I’m just basing this on work rate and attitude as seen on the pitch.

  474. raif says:

    THIS REF IS A WANKER

  475. Geoff says:

Get Ramsey and Nasri on, this is the time.

  476. Joe says:

Please Wenger, don’t make any silly subs.

  477. Pat says:

50-50 tackle and Chelsea get the fk

  478. Stu says:

Yes you did, read your own comment yourself.

“Clichy the only gunner who plays with his heart ..not even Fabregas does that!!”

  479. Joe says:

Scolari’s just made a silly sub!

  480. Swedish Gun says:

    who the hell is stock???

  481. Stu says:

  487. freduardo says:

  488. Stu says:

I actually wouldnt make any changes now, especially as we are doing well.

  489. Metal Gear says:

    Oh no What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bendtner?

  490. Pat says:

Sneaky from Scholari, or do they not have any other strikers? Our defenders probably don’t know a thing about Stoch. Come on Arsenal

  491. Metal Gear says:

Stu we could get overrun with these fresh legs

  492. Pat says:

Gear, Ade has done his running. He’s not 100% yet. We need someone who could hold the ball up(somewhat), so Nik is a good choice.

  493. raif says:

ade must not be 100% fit as to y his comming off

  494. Joe says:

    Stu, my thoughts exactly fella

  495. Stu says:

Why hasnt ivanovic been sent off yet!

  496. Pat says:

We were after Ivanovic at the same time as Chelsea. He’s a really good defender and part of the reason the Serbian national team has been doing really well in qualifying. Him and VIdic are great together.

  497. atlanta_gooner says:

metal i wont take it back ever …so deal with it…haha

  498. Maqitlarge says:

any more sweaty palms out there?

  499. Stu says:

Gallas is doing more capaining now then when he was actually captain.

  500. Ja_Gunner says:

I hope Arsene realises that we have not turned any corner.

We will always have a chance to beat the top teams…because they play open attacking football.

He still needs to solve the problem of the rest of the teams that will put 10 men behind the ball.

  501. Joe says:

    I have sweaty everywhere Maqitlarge!

  502. Maqitlarge says:

    sick man Joe

  503. Rohan says:

fuck me some of those chav supporters really are ugly

  504. Metal Gear says:

  507. Geoff says:

  508. Stu says:

  509. Swedish Gun says:

we are sooooo lucky if we get away with 3 points

    GOOOO GUNNERS

  510. Metal Gear says:

Take the ball 2 the corner draw fouls take your time Wenger make a sub at the last 2 minutes.

  511. Maqitlarge says:

    Should have burried them!

  512. Stu says:

Denilson has the worst fucking touch ive ever seen.

  513. Pat says:

    Denilson nooooooo!

  514. Maqitlarge says:

Ummm. Has Song actually done alright today?

  515. Ja_Gunner says:

Now lets hope West Ham can beat Liverpooooooooooo

  516. Maqitlarge says:

    Hell Yeah!!!!!!!

  517. raif says:

Denilson’s touch was a touch of a rapist

  518. Joe says:

  519. JonJon says:

    Weve only got one song

  520. Stu says:

Song wasnt too abd today but he still isnt good enough.

  521. jimmyfingers says:

how the fuck did we manage that?

  522. paul says:

Please delete all of my earlier comments YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  523. Maqitlarge says:

  525. Keyser says:

  530. john says:

  531. David says:

  532. choy says:

give him the 80k a week tomorrow!!!

  533. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Gnarley Gnows CHHHHHHHHHHHHAMONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

  534. Maqitlarge says:

That was mid 90s stuff! Backs to the wall. Snatch it with 2 quick goals. For Ian Wright read RVP

  535. finestcuts says:

We beat Chelsea 2-1. Fact. Who would have taken that before the match? Good derby, and we won it!

  536. Geoff says:

Robin, at last, but Denilson and Song, well Song, fuck he may as well be playing for them.

  537. choy says:

where is that bergkamp fella

  538. raif says:

RvP is still shit. just 2 well taken chances.

    we was a little lucky.

    ;) :p

  539. Metal Gear says:

Raif U cant have a touch of a RAPIST that’s just wrong mate lol but poor touch I think it’s nerves. Now lets see how we do against Wigan

  540. choy says:

geoff in all fairness song was pretty ok!!!!

  541. David says:

SHIT BALLS! DENSILSON IS STILL SHIT! SONG IS STILL SHIT! AND BENTNER IS STILL SHIT!

WE BEAT THE CHAVS WITH 8 men!

  542. john says:

    GEOFF is a god

  543. freduardo says:

our defense owned them for the second half! big performances across the back 4.

  544. Joe says:

A lot of Chelsea fans are getting hammered by me and my best mate tomorrow..

  545. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    9.28am I predicted 1-2 Do I get a Peroni 6 pack Geoff :D

  546. Truth says:

What a great result to confound all critics. Fantastic stuff, though l’pool must licking their lips.

  547. raif says:

    Metal Gear

if they havea poor touch. then its the touch of a rapist, havent u heard that term before. i hear it every time in the football parks and so on?

  548. Stu says:

    Maq,

    What does that mean?

  549. Metal Gear says:

I agree I’m not a VP fan until I see some consistency and a top class performance from him I’m afraid Eduardo will eventually easily replace him. But credit where credit is due.

  550. JonJon says:

Song played better than denilson but hes still shit.

  551. Maqitlarge says:

Swedish – I guess it was the tooth fairy screening everything in front of the back 4 in the last 20 mins then!
He still shit but you have to come out and say if someone played well, and I thought Song did.
We still need better though. Hopefully its Barry in Jan.
    http://www.footballfancast.com/blog/aston-villa/can-we-afford-turn-down-a-%C2%A310m-bid-a-liverpool-or-arsenal/7052

  552. choy says:

a great performance from captain fabregas.. and clichy is a monster!!!

  553. Maqitlarge says:

Stu – we didn’t deserve to win. But once we got in front we deserved to keep our lead, if that makes sense!

  554. Wolski says:

Thank F for that…. great 3 points, but he has to lose Song….a class signing in that position in January and the likes of Theo and Eddie still to come back and it starts to look good.

Hope he sticks with JD now.

Lets hope we don’t now repeat the performances after the man u game. Feet on the floor, earn the right to play and play!

  555. Keyser says:

Song had a good fucking game, he’s not suddenly Essien but ihe’s been a lot better in the last couple of games, I can’t believe we’re still moaning, how fucking depressing is that.

I swear we outsung them almost the whole game aswell..

  556. Metal Gear says:

Raif I’ve heard it twice once on youtube and another from U so I haven’t heard it that much but if I warm 2 it U might find me using it lol

  557. southcoastGooner says:

ja gunner …whilst what you say might be true, lets enjoy the beating of the chavs and worry bout that later!!

  558. Maqitlarge says:

  561. Stu says:

    Geoff,

c’mon dont be that guy. No matter how much we all hate Song we can all admit that he wasnt his usually shit self today.

  562. Keyser says:

Maquitlarge – They had one shot on target up until we equalised.

  563. freduardo says:

song is shit but was not bad today. looked a bit more interested somehow. sometimes its nice to have a big fucker gettin in the way.
    suggestions for MOM?
    Clichy?

  564. Metal Gear says:

Gallas & DJ where immense Geoff I hope that’s in your Post tomorrow cuz they were excellent I still think they would be better with a defensive coach.

  565. Paul88 says:

    FUCK YEAH.

I wasn’t expecting that, well chuffed. They had a great 2nd half.

    Fuck you joe cole.

By the way, was that jody morris the brought on at the end? Ha.

  566. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Chelsea don’t deserve to win anything. They are whores to a Russian billionare. No class

  567. georgian-gunner says:

    yeeeeeeeees!!!!!!!!

  568. Ocelot says:

06/07 revisited, great against top 4, shit against others

  569. Stu says:

Van Persie just said that Galas is his respected teammate and there was never a problem between them!

  570. choy says:

    MOM.. rvp.. clichy… fabregas…

  571. Metal Gear says:

Geoff Song was shit at the beginning I admit but credit where credit was due he was excellent in the second half I hope U don’t give him a fucked up rating tomorrow.

  572. Paul88 says:

    Keyser

You’re right, song did have a good game, especially the 2nd half. Credit where it’s due. Well done son.

  573. rico01 says:

    Here here George

  574. paul says:

Cant some of you just say well played to the team.We just won at the bridge

  575. raif says:

    Metal Gear

lol no worreis mate. i use it alot i must say just more in person and not over a web site forum and so on.

but of course ill need to be careful as i could easy offend someone on here.

i mostly say it with my mates. lol.

another one i like to use witch im sure most will already know is HOSPITAL BALL.
poor pass leads to losing position or allowing the other player to come in with a 50/50 challange lol.. :)

  576. georgian-gunner says:

    yesyesyesssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!

  577. Joe says:

To be honest, people saying we shouldn’t have won, Chelsea only had one shot on target.. THE WHOLE GAME

  578. rico01 says:

Now I dont like Jamie Redknapp !! Tosser ;)

  579. freduardo says:

Bendtner did some good work too when he came on. hassling, winning a free etc.
time to give some coutos to those who deserve them

  580. Stu says:

If it wasnt for almunia we could have won 2-0. Or probably it would have been 1-0, thats more likely.

  581. Tokyo Neon says:

Anyone saying VP is shit is a fucking rather mistaken. He’s world class when fit and on form. So is Cesc. Maybe Cliche too. Those 3 are the boys. VP is amazing. Right and left foot.

  582. Stu says:

    I’ve always hated redknapp.

  583. Geoff says:

Guys if we had two more players we could win everywhere, that’s why we moan, now Wenger will play Song and Denilson for ever and we’ll never buy anyone, being a real fan is being able to see the problems and not ignoring them.

  584. Maqitlarge says:

Hi Keyser – yeah you’re right there but they were much better than us for 60 mins. For some reason they didn’t have enough after we snatched the lead. Not complaining though. We’re one or two signings from being being better than them

Great result though. Just what we needed.

  585. raif says:

i remember when Chelsea was looking to buy KINKY BOOTS for about 12 mill.

and yeah he did well for the amount of time he was on.

WELL DONE ARSENAL. YOU HAVE MOADE US PROUD. . now go out there and fucking beat all them little clubs we seem to fuck up against..

  586. rico01 says:

Anyone think Anelka wanted us to win ?? :)

  587. southcoastGooner says:

raif ..your a funny man….we all know van persie is a fukin class act.

  588. Keyser says:

rico01 – Didn’t you see him after the Tottenham game ? He was inciting the crowd aswell.

  589. paul says:

Our first goal is so far offside its brilliant

  590. Paul88 says:

We had a great 2nd half.
Two clinical goals, tackled and defended well and we were really up for the fight after the first goal.

I’ll think we deserved it, they only had one chance and that was an own goal.

John terry is a fouling cunt.

  591. rico01 says:

John ‘Thomas’ terry – should have been RED carded, two footed tackle, could have broken Bac’s leg, Cheating Bastard !!

  592. choy says:

anelka is a gooner at heart!!

  593. peachesgooner says:

    woooohoooooo

    how fantastic was that

    be back soon xxxx

  594. David says:

Great against everybody from now on!

    Change?? ANyone?

WE are 2 for 2 now that Fabs the captain…i say we get 100% record after this!

  595. Maqitlarge says:

2nd half we did well and I put that down to getting stuck in and winning tackles, letting us attack them when they’re not organised with 2 banks of 4

  596. peachesgooner says:

    Hi Rico

How sexy was Van Persie tday?????????????

  597. Geoff says:

You’re right Rico, dirty filthy bastard.

I’m handing over to a happy Pedro!

  598. georgian-gunner says:

    JD20 was great

  599. Paul88 says:

That russian? should have been sent off. J fuckin T should have also gone for that two footed tackle on sagna as well.

  600. Stu says:

We were lucky to get the offside decision but the Chavs were lucky not to have their 2 CBs sent off. That was a lunge by Terry and Ivanovic should have gotten at least 3 yellows.

  601. rico01 says:

keyser, i dint, what a git, and he has written us off still, what a wanker

But yes Geoff, we still need at least two players, but he must know that, one win doesnt make everything right, it justs gives us a reason to smile until the CC game :)

  602. rico01 says:

Stu – Terry was a straight red

  603. kingsley says:

    anelka….joe cole….peter cech……………………….shhhhhhhhhhhh.

  604. Paul88 says:

Yeah, we’re short still. We’ve had a crap month though so i’m gonna just enjoy it.

  605. rico01 says:

peaches – 20 out of ten

  606. Stu says:

I wonder what the odds are for us to lose the next game. Thats the kind of form we are in. Who is next?

  607. Swedish Gun says:

sorry…but I cant say Song had a decent game cos he was so slow and his positioning was awful…he is mostly in no mans land

but today I dont care cos we won yeeehaaaa!

  608. rookie says:

    Yoooo hoooo

what a performance lads it’s not just in it’s the togetherness in the squad and fight they showed in their game which excites me……

now has Robin proved his doubters wronge???? please get off his back now….

  609. choy says:

stu.. next is wigan at the emirates!!!

  610. Stu says:

WHAT?? Wenger says he didnt see that offside. I wonder if he is lying!? ;)

  611. Joe says:

kingsley.. Add Ballack to that list!!

  612. freduardo says:

sometimes its like that Terry fuck couldnt buy the red cards he deserves. What the fuck does he have to do to get sent off? he gets praise for being whole hearted and shit, and no criticism when he tries to hurt people.

  613. Maqitlarge says:

Wigan up next… a must win, like every game over teh next 2 months!

  614. David says:

    YESSSS YESSSS YESSS!!!!

  615. Metal Gear says:

Who cares whether we deserved 2 win or not it doesn’t matter we won 3 points now lets win our remaining games and lets not repeat what happened after the Man U game.

  616. kingsley says:

    ah yeah ballack!…..shhhhhh

  617. JonJon says:

song played better than denilson, but hes still shit, they both are

  618. rookie says:

Song hatred aside but he actually had a decent game….

    he was making real effort….

  619. Stu says:

Is it just me or are Jamie Redknapps pants always way too short? And being gray too they show too many shaped for my liking.

  620. Paul88 says:

It would be more satisfying if mourinho was still in charge. Scolari is winging all the same. He’s forgetting that they should have had two sent off and their only shot on goal was from our player.

  621. Stu says:

We should stick with the CCeam against Wigan. We know they can do it and the first team might fuck up.

  622. Paul88 says:

    i mean whinging

  623. JonJon says:

we were lucky today but when was the last time we got a decision from the ref?? its about time

what goes around comes around, last year we were one nil up at the bridge and drogba scord an offside goal and we lost.

    karma

  624. avenell says:

    Scholari!! :) lost the plot..

  625. raif says:

    southcoastGooner

he is a Class act. when he wants be. not when his trying to be a ego tart. as he comes far to deep for the ball aswell. witch leaves our Box Empty as ADE has pissed off to the wings.

when he takes his chances his axcellent but it dont happen enough in my book. far as we know he wont do anything for the next 4 games

  626. Paul88 says:

I try not to look at his pants stu.

  627. Metal Gear says:

VP has 2 show consistency before I give him that sort of respect I’m sorry people are telling people like me 2 get off his back get off his dick he’ll get praise with consistency not 1 game.

  628. choy says:

lol… stu.. carling cup game on tuesday!!!!

  629. rico01 says:

FA Cup – just seen we have been drawn at home against Plymouth – Nice :)

  630. raif says:

    rico0

    Plymouth

have we really?? what a result. i think the kids can play that game

  631. Metal Gear says:

Where was Ade LW he really needs a good lecture no striker plays on the wing more than there actual position unless there playing in a 4-3-3. Hopefully he’ll realize he is much more effective when central.

  632. Stu says:

lol my calender is way off so. Who are we playing in the CC? and when are we playing Wigan? Sat or Sun?

  633. Pedro says:

    Evening sports fans!

Great result… iffy performance… but 3 points will do very nicely!

    I thought we’d win!

I can’t believe that with all that talent, Chavski struggled to create! Amazing!

  634. Maqitlarge says:

This is pretty refreshing, despite the last comment!

    http://www.chelsea.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=511647

  635. Big Raddy says:

    What a brilliant result.

Edge of the seat stuff for the last 35 mins, but we looked in control.

I agree with some of the above Le Grovers…. credit where credits due. Song had a decent game, as did Denilson, whose energy level was immense today. The guy was everywhere.

But the real credit must go to our back 4 who were just fantastic.

  636. choy says:

stu burnley.. CC.. wigan PL on sat!!!

  637. Stu says:

    Metal,

Ade keeps going to the wings because he thinks he is actually Henrys replacement. Thats why he thinks he can actually play good football and deserves to get the same wages as TH14.

  638. ikon says:

i am so proud… i am going to make my chav mate cry

song was poor but its all down to wenger, so ppl please get off song.
denilson is good player overall but has to build up some body mass

I really dont know how anyone can doubt cesc’s commitment… he is the golden boy, he makes our team luck.
He is FAB I love Fab, I love Clichy, rest have a lot to do still…. but i am beginning to like Nik, I think he is getting serious for football.

I think in the last 15 minutes we played like chelsea, choking down, delays in throw ins, fucking loved it.

  639. Keyser says:

We’re playing Burnley on Tuesday, so the kids will have to play, I’m glad Wilshere and Vela didn’t get on because it’s only a day turn around.

Burnley beat Derby 3-0 on Saturday, it’ll be a tough game for the kids.

  640. choy says:

Both goals were brilliant by the way.. what finishing!!!

  641. David says:

Ade copies Henry alot when he drifts out wing….unfortunately no one told him he doesnt have the skill of Henry.

Quit callin people shit guys….we won!

  642. Big Raddy says:

Today was the first time in a while that AW got his tactics spot on.

We never allowed their midfield to get their passing game going, and I can only think of a couple of times that Lamps got in front of the main striker.

  643. Stu says:

    Thanks Choy.

Maq, the last comment there doesnt count because it is poor grammer.

  644. avenell says:

Chelsea were unlucky… they had a lot of injuries and poor Drogba was banned..

That’s what Redknapp and Gullet say so it must be true..

Coming up against a full Arsenal side with no injuries. That cost a 1/4 of a billion pounds less…

  645. Big Raddy says:

And we obviously learned from the Spurs match about closing out a game.

  646. choy says:

    and spurs lost

  647. Big Raddy says:

Avenell. Did they really say that ?

  648. JonJon says:

chelsea have been dodgy for the last few games, since they got beat by burnley, i knew we’d win today, but we still had a few dodgy performers, ade denilson almunia, the rest did a good job, even song.

  649. southcoastGooner says:

    Raif

the only bad point to van persie is his injury record….his goals to games record is pretty impressive. what more can you ask but for your striker to have a very good strike rate, he just neeeds to keep fit.

  650. avenell says:

I made the last bit up Raddy, but pretty much so especially the Drogba bit..

  651. rico01 says:

Raddy – I agree, I think the team all played a lot better, Song was very clever at the end aswell, after the tackle he stayed down just long enough not to be questioned, he did make some pretty good tackles aswell. Denilson was better also, and the back four were immense, apart from the dodgy throw out which lead to their goal, they all looked assured and solid. maybe I was wrong to suggest Willy should go, maybe he is now free to play his game, rather than worry about be the skippy,

  652. Paul88 says:

I thought denilson had a really good 2nd half, he was everywhere.

  653. Metal Gear says:

Stu I know but it shows he lacks that intelligence 2 understand he could be more of a threat then Henry if he stayed central as he offers aerial threat and physical presence the only striker’s who can drift out wide 2 pick up the ball every now and then are skillful strikers and Ade is not a David Villa, Eto, Torres or Henry 2 be able 2 pull that off consistently.

  654. Stu says:

Avenell, we didnt have a full team because Denilson was playing wing. Eduardo, Rosicky and Theo (to an extent) all provide different options and are vital to our play.

  655. JonJon says:

Avenall, i just said the same to my mate, andy greys a tosser, blaming it on the injuries that 500mil 22 worldclass players chelsea have got.

has he seen our injury list recently?????

    cunt

  656. avenell says:

Scolari thought thefirst goal was miles offside and wants the referee sorted. but the tackle by Terry was a fair one… :)

  657. Paul88 says:

It was nice to see gallas smiling at the end too. I’ve felt a bit sorry for him as of late. The press were having a pop at him this morning on sunday supplement for not playing at right back at the end of last season. How do they even know if wenger asked him to play there?

  658. ikon says:

    1. We were a bit lucky
    2. RVP has that capability to turn any game on its head.
    3. Fabregas is Mr Arsenal and makes our luck.
    4. Song needs to be just a backup CB, Denilson needs to build up
    5. We are 2 signings away from a really competent squad.

If Arsene reads this…. Thanks a lot Arsene but please keep song away from the team.

  659. I was very impressed with the Back 4 today, how great were they!! Djourou was unlucky for the OG, but he had a good game.

Song still wasn’t good, but he was better than usual, thank god. Denilson was annoying me but got lucky for once. Fabregas only gave the ball away very few times, which I was happy with, he was good today, and Nasri, although he drifted out of the game, tried to work hard (although he didn’t for the OG).

RVP got the goals he needed, Adebayor played a big part in both of them, so congrats to both of them, who still did a job on what was not their best day.

Almunia gladly didnt have anything to do, as he was at fault for the OG.

    Well played back 4!!!

  660. avenell says:

    STU ;)

  661. Big Raddy says:

    Boys ……

I must have seen a different game to you !!

Ade was always available as an outlet in the second half, and caused them no end of problems. We had a focus to our attack agian. Plus , it was his knockdown for RvP 2nd.

ALmunia ….. what did he do wrong? Apart from a poor throw-out. Which should have been better defended.

& Denilson ? Watch it again, and say that Denilson was crap. The man was really hungry today against what must be one of the strongest midfields in world football.

Surely, we can cut the team some slack, we are only the 2nd team to win there in 4 years !!

  662. Paul88 says:

    I agree big raddy.

  663. choy says:

chelsea had never conceded in the second half this season.. well guess what…!!!

  664. kelsey says:

Redknapp is a bigger cunt than he was 2 hours ago
Our first goal was offside(so what) wenger didn’t see it
Gene hackman didn’t see the terry two footed tackle, which was a red card offence

okay, today showed how unpredictable the game is.give ade some credit he made our first goal, rvp when on fire is our best striker, the back 4 were immense.denilson only looks good when in attack,he makes sensible runs.what surprised me was how chelsea capitulated after our second.they were poor and we got the result which surely must now install confidence but we are a some way off yet.
Almunia really isn’t up to it,his distribution was awful throughout the match.

  665. avenell says:

Raddy I’m not saying Denilson was shit, but he was worse than Song.. :)

  666. rico01 says:

I really loved the shirts being thrown to our fans, what a smart move, the Russians obviously didnt want to swap shirts so some lucky fans got them….

Great gesture, Oh those sad old Russians…. Ra Ra :)

  667. choy says:

denilson was pretty good in a makeshift RW !!!

  668. ikon says:

Djourou was superb by the way… and so was gallas… his gesture at the end was really good. Can we have Toure for Song pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  669. Big Raddy says:

    Metal….

Might it be that Ade is told to go to the wings ?

  670. Keyser says:

Adebayor played well, sometimes he doesn’t use his size that well but today he was out jumping, pulling, harrying and running his aSs off, he played well.

  671. kelsey says:

Interesting comment from a rather humble rvp that it was not him who had the spat with gallas, that leaves ade.

  672. patthegooner says:

Well I have had a bit of faith in Football restored there. We have fell foul of refs decisions all season and the ball never seemed to bounce kindly for us but we got some luck back today.

I am still struggling to understand how we won that game. Not only have we beat Chelsea, but we were fucking shit and beat Chelsea!!!!!!

I am also going to give some praise where it is due to two players I dont particularly rate. Firstly RVP who took his goals very well, I just wish he had the consistency to do it week in week out. Secondly Song, who although shocking in the first half, had a great last 20 mins. I still dont think he is a decent or even average footballer but well done Song, great last 20 mins. And Nasri as well had a great last 20, That lad can defend. Infact I thought the back four looked pretty solid tonight.

I just hope Wenger does not read too much into this. It was still a pretty poor performance and until an offside goal we did not even look like scoring, the fluidity of the passing is still not there, we still lose the ball too easily and we are still fielding players who would struggle to get in the West Brom team………

But I am going to revel in it tonight……Dont care how you did it but you did it. Oh and Scolari’s Interview was hilarious. Apparently the refs were all only Reffing one of the Teams!!!

Come On Arsenal, no slump now like after the Man Ure game, December is busy and we need to keep that 4th spot until we can strengthen and then see how far we are behind to see if the fresh blood can make any difference.

    90 min Positives

Djourou (Despite the OG) Gallas, Sagna, Clichy, Cesc,

    Negatives

There are some but given the result I dont feel like mentioning them.

  673. avenell says:

Rico there’s a Arsenal shirt on ebay at the moment and it’s been bid up to £3500.00,
and the Arsenal players are giving them away..

    Have the outlaws gone?

  674. choy says:

pinky boots did pretty ok too!!!

  675. Cosmic Gunner says:

I was watching Song, he is a total disgrace, the entire first half, Song was “AHEAD” of Fabregas, if he does his duty of being a “defensive” midfielder and stays back, Fabregas and go ahead to create those killer passes, we need somebody who has hot blood running through them, I haven’t ever seen Song going in for a crunching tackle… I can’t believe Wenger… every year he unreasonably persists on an idiot and we lose so many games and the fire… last year it was Eboue. I understand he wanted a defensive cover in midfield, but cmmon he had flamini and the problem was not in central midfield, it was in the back, and the year before it was the shite Phil, and the worst part was we had Djorou all along…and we still have Silvestre, Toure and Rambo on the bench… i can’t seem to understand his persistence with Song, he is killing Fabregas’s game…. I wish he can see light…

  676. Metal Gear says:

What impressed me was DJ’s response after he scored the own goal which really wasn’t his fault also very impressed with that back 4 but knowing Wenger he’ll probably change it.

  677. rico01 says:

Re Ade, as long as he is on the pitch, defenders havent got a clue what he is going to do nest (mind you nor does Ade ;) ) But he is the only striker we have that can get up so high and control the ball, and hold it. His lay off today was top drawer, and considering he has been injured, i dont think he did too bad. He will sonn find the net and he and Robin will be back on fire

  678. Stu says:

We are at least 4 players away from a great team. We might do fine for a while but with players like Song and Denilson starting we wont go very far.

We need a new keeper, defender, DM and clinical striker ie Akinfeev, Chiellini, Cana(?), and either Villa or Huntelaar.

  679. avenell says:

Kelsey I heard that.. but I forgot about the bust up bit…. duh..

  680. ikon says:

i bet all chavs are having a hard time as of now, wonder what geoff pedro are upto.

  681. rico01 says:

hi ave – yes, but it is the poppy shirt, so its quite special – i have one of the old highbury gopping purple shirts, all nice in its box, wonder how much that would fetch?? ;)

I thought it was a real smart move by all the players, and those lucky fans :)

  682. Keyser says:

Kelsey – he said there isn’t a problem, it’s been hyped up out of all proportion, we don’t know how things went on and the media smelt blood with the Arsenal in crisis stories and made a meal of it.

  683. Metal Gear says:

Big Raddy I doubt it he had his best goal-scoring form last season when staying central when it mattered.

  684. Keyser says:

Van Persie’s finish was perfect, he must’ve transplanted a left foot for his right one.

  685. Maciek says:

Great win!!! Great to see Robin scoring two goals, he is my favourite, current Arsenal player. Well done boys! Now, lets trash Burnley and Wigan and buy a quality CDM and CD in january. I also admit that I was wrong. I thought we will lose, but what a fantastic second half he have played.

  686. blazon says:

you guys going on about Song spoil the fun…

you are wrong, he ain’t going anywhere, he’s in the starting 11 to stay…get used to it…

    Denilson, now, there’s a different story – he’s gone, just a question of when…

Ade was bad today, hope it was rust…

  687. avenell says:

Rico.. redcurrant, remember how touchy they were about the colour.

If you got the RVP one, that got thrown in the crowd you could have the first short sleeved, long sleeved origonal.. :)

  688. Geoff says:

Blazon, I’m delighted, but I have to say if we had two better players than Denilson and Song we’d be at the top.

That’s not being a spoiler, that’s a fact, we won though and I have bragging rights for at least a fortnight.

  689. Maciek says:

Stu, You seem to not trust Fabianski. Trust me, he is as good as Akinfeejev, and I really rate Akinfeejev. Juve will never sell Chielini, so Zapata or Albiol, Cana of course and Arshavin for me.

  690. JonJon says:

    Maciek

do you not think the gallas/jd combination is what we have been missing?

  691. chozzer says:

Wish we could play Manyoo and Chavski every week.
    CMON YOU GUNNERS.

  692. rico01 says:

ave – no such luck, i got mine from afc.com, but in years to come i will be glad

  693. raif says:

    southcoastGooner

he needs a alot more then just a good Goals record in my book mate.

  694. rico01 says:

    JD and Gallas ………………….. :)

At last Mr Wenger, at last

  695. Metal Gear says:

The signings we need 2 try and make are

    DC (Defensive coach)
    GK Frey or Buffon
CB Chellini or Lucio or both
    DM Sergio Ramos or ???
    CF Benzema (highly unlikely though)

Because I not fooled by this result some of these individuals in the team are either not good enough or not ready.

  696. Stu says:

I do trust Fabianski but Wenger obviously doesnt and I would rather have Akinfeev to actually challenge Almunia than have Fabianski just sitting on the bench.

Ashavin isnt my cup of tea. He is good in flashes like he showed in the Euros but he also showed that he lacks the stamina.

Incidently Villa has scored for Valencia against Betis.

  697. avenell says:

Scholari must have spent last night reading, “Arsene’s guide to substitutions”

Deco off, wtf coming on. The 4th official must have pissed himself :)

  698. raif says:

    Metal Gear

they are fantasy signings the only one that looks realistic is the (Defensive coach).
    maybe even Frey

othere then that they are ALL unlikely

  699. chozzer says:

Geoff, in response to your post…… perhaps Wenger has some 10 year olds that he regards as part of the team that he will blood at Burnley on Tuesday.

  700. Geoff says:

I’m off to celebrate, have a great evening Grovers, bask in the glory! The chavs had one shot on target, that was the goal oh, and we scored it! Cunts!

  701. geogun says:

    tru

  702. raif says:

    avenell

    “Arsene’s guide to substitutions”

    hahahahaha i like that one.

  703. Stu says:

    Metal,

We couldnt afford Buffon or Benzema. Ramos isnt a DM, is the worst tackler known to man, and looks like a female PE teacher you would find in America. Frey is useless and Lucio is Brazilian.

  704. rico01 says:

Geoff – you make sure you over indulge :)

  705. timao says:

hilarious thread… should be preserved for future generations!

  706. georgian-gunner says:

guys at last! i have some problems with comments but now seems ok. it was great evning. wonder oy is real wonder boy:D

  707. Metal Gear says:

Raif well I did say ‘’try and sign’’ at least try your dammest and remember we don’t know how good this negotiator is so lets wait and see the only one’s that I think could be extremely difficult are Chellini, Buffon and Benzema the rest could be a real possibility.

  708. rico01 says:

I’m off fine Grovers, catch you all tomorrow, I am going to open a botlle of fizzy…. water :)

    Night all, Stay safe :)

  709. kelsey says:

The good thing is that song’s valuation will go up if we sell him this week :)

Oh did anyone else think scholari was going to walk out midway though his interview on sky.

  710. Keyser says:

Scolari was about to cry, his broken English makes it worse because it seems like he’s soo upset he can’t talk.

Reading back through the comments at half time it’s quite funny..

  711. London says:

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, it is your worst nightmare “A smug Song fan” The humple pie has just come out of the oven and is piping hot; which one of you will be first? Come on Geoff you know you want some. Raif maybe? Perhaps I can tempt JonJon. LLLLLOOOOOoooooooooolllllllllllll. Yeeeeeeesssssssss You rip roaring, goal scoring, glory grabbing gunneeeeeeeeers. Oh yes and while I am at it what do you think of that half time team talk?

  712. avenell says:

He looked a bit edgy Kelsey…

Then sky defended him saying he was stressed coz English wasn’t his first language or something..
Did you see the offside Arsene?? :)

    Night Rico…

  713. Stu says:

We should buy Juan Mata, Hildebrand, Vicente, Jaoquin, Albiol, Marchena, Edu and Villa. Any complaints?

  714. avenell says:

Goeff, Song is the closest we have to Flamini.. l@@K ^

  715. Thomas Vik says:

denilson had a bad game?even if you don’t rate the player you shold give credit were credit’s due. H e was one of the main reasons why we turned it around,he started to play wider in the second half and that gave us an extra option going forward and he defended very well .And yes,we DID deserve the victory! They didn’t create a chance after our goals, mainly because we did’nt fall back to defend, but met them high up on the field.Chelsea started the long ball, but our backfour defended brillantly on those too.I think this could be a turning point, mainly because be 1 down to chelsea after the whole world has told you that you are shit and then turn it around shows a lot of heart. And i agree we need to beef up in the middle, but denilson has a bright future in this team

  716. raif says:

    G ?????

    we have A,

    but what happend to B, C, D, E, F, ???

But Seriously G…. Song is shit and doesn’t come ANYWHERE next to Flamini.

reads the game well?? ill be suprised if he can Read a book mate if im honest with you.

  717. raif says:

i think we should make G’s comment Le-Chump of the week.

  718. London says:

Every Arsenal player had a blinding second half? We are allowed to praise our own team as well you know

  719. avenell says:

Sorry Geoff, I was so shocked I got my “E’s” and “O’s” the wrong way around!! :)

  720. Keyser says:

Stu – They’ve just made our defending look good, great timing.

  721. avenell says:

Raif… That should carry a Goverment Health Warning.. :)

  722. raif says:

    JOE COLE……. JOE COLE……..

what happend mate?? you lost you fucking Rat Hobbit !!!!!!!!!!!

  723. London says:

    Thomas Vik

A lot of the regulars are still in a state of shock; they will come around.

  724. raif says:

    avenell

    hahahahahah “Goverment Health Warning” :D

  725. Pedro says:

Sorry guys… sometimes they slip through the net!

I love how now we’ve won a game, Song balances our team! haha!

He was ok today, but lets not go over board.

  726. London says:

    Rat Hobbit Lol

  727. raif says:

avenell. you always manage to crack me up.

  728. London says:

Song balances the team HHHHHHaaaaa HHHHHHHaaaaaaa

  729. Stu says:

Kelsey, you watching this debacle too. What was Miguel thinking.

  730. raif says:

    London

    LOL hahaha.

i love saying that word to people. i thought id use it in Le-grove for everyone else to use haha

  731. London says:

I cannot remember when I felt this good about football. We are kings of London again

  732. Keyser says:

Stu – Heh they just scored again though, but stop the ball on the goal line, kick it out of the goalies hands to an attacker in the six yard box and then take him out all in one go, giving away a penalty and getting sent off in the process

  733. Franchise says:

One comment and I’m off guys Chelsea played beautifully and lost hahaha.

  734. avenell says:

In fairness… It does balance the side like, Yin and Yang… Fabregas’s good to Song’s … well Yang.. :)

  735. Pedro says:

    It is glorious!

I was sitting there thinking… fuck… another dismal match report to write!

I thought we’d win today… this reminds me of the season a couple of years back where we smashed all the top 4, but lost the league on the weaker teams.

If we can get through to Jan in good shape, maybe a couple of clever signings can push us on in the Champs league and the cups.

  736. avenell says:

Raif.. That is second only to BBK’s ” Dot Cotton sloppy tit wank…… ” ;)

  737. London says:

    Evening Pedro

I had an idea that you may or may not like and that is when you do your post giving the players marks out of 10 you may want to include Wenger. As we know sometimes his team selection seems woeful while other time he gets it right. Just a thought.

  738. Stu says:

Villa 5.37. Kelsey, what do you think??

  739. London says:

    It sure is Glorious

  740. Stu says:

    Oops i mean keyser :)

  741. Wrighty7 says:

    FUCKING LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a tenner on 2-1 Arsenal! £150 in the back burner! lovely jubbly!

I’ve been telling everyone all week that Arsenal will do the Chavs!

Everyone here on Le Grove, I love you all! Like Brothers and Sisters!!!!

I’m pumped up and beered up and I’m back on the piss again in 15 mins!

    Lets wreck da joint!

WHO, WHO, WHO TO BE, WHO TO BE A………………………….?????????????????

  742. kelsey says:

    stu,

me no understand you,i come from barcelona

    what about faulty song :)

  743. London says:

    Wrighty

You have really confused me all this time I thought it was OOOOOhhhhh To Beeee

  744. Pedro says:

London… top idea. He didn’t really have the option of bringing on an Eboue or a Song! Which was good… Ade wasn’t doing too well, so he brought Nik on and didn’t change our shape.

I was impressed with the result more than the performance. This result doesn’t change my mind on the squad… I kind of go along with what Redknapp said… we’re too inconsistent to make a challenge this year.

I was impressed we went 4-4-2 and I was impressed with the back 4.

So… do we drop Almunia? He has become clanger prone again…

  745. Maciek says:

    JonJon
Yes, DJ and Willy played well, but we still need another cd, because You can’t relay on Song and Senderos(if he will be back) and Kolo may be off to City, besides he isn’t the same player since ANCup. As for CDM- we both agree that we do need atl east one. Jon, just think, what could we do with 2 or very good players. Almunia, Song and Denilson, just aren’t good enough. And, how many errors must Almunia do to be dropped?

  746. avenell says:

    Fuck off Brother Wrighty….. :)

  747. Pedro says:

That is a special day Wrighty! Well played!

I also backed us to win… but not at the bookies I don’t gamble!

  748. avenell says:

Have we got a DVD coming out? We drew 1-2.. :)

  749. Maciek says:

Well, Vincente would be great. As for Villa, it won’t happen.

  750. Thomas Vik says:

Let’s do fuckin liverpool the same.if we are six points behind 1 of january anthing could happen

  751. Keyser says:

    Stu – You’ve lost me ?! Sorry..

  752. London says:

It is a real shame about Almunia he was looking world class against Fenabache away and then the goal we don’t mention which seems to have sent him back to the dark old days. Still we have good back up.

  753. avenell says:

Okay your on!!! You get me the job and I’ll prove you wrong!! :)

  754. Magnus says:

Gent’s……This is a night to remember….A crucial ref. desicion went our way….
Fucking awesome…BUT was not to impressed with Song. He was lost for the greater part of the game…a complete disaster!

The mighty arsenal strikes again B-)

  755. London says:

    Goontheloon

And your thoughts on the game were what?

  756. avenell says:

What Almunia done today, is also something Fabinaski does and needs to improve on..

  757. Wrighty7 says:

Ha ha Fuck off brother Avenell!

    YOU FUCKING LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

  758. Stu says:

I’m feeling both confused and embarrassed so topic change.

Pedro, Almunia needs to be dropped. Jens was definately a better keeper and a far better leader. Jens made 2 misakes,1costly one and got axed. Almunia continues to make errors bt Wenger still persists.

  759. London says:

Magnus, Magnus, Magnus I will save you some pie for a later date.

  760. Magnus says:

London – Almunia should be placed on the next plane to Bandar Abbas…
On this level – you should not do errors like he did today….

  761. Wrighty7 says:

    Pedro,

I know you backed a victory matey, how sweet does it feel???????

It feels like the sweetest of all sweets mate! Ha ha

  762. kelsey says:

I disagree with you pedro about ade.He played his partas we said before the game.he has nuisance value and he is a good shield for a good striker and today it came off.A clinical goalscorer he isn’t,last year was a flash in the pan.

Almunia, must be faulted for the first goal, his throw out was appaling and prior to that he had two consecutive punches which just literally went up in the air.his kicking either went out or to the opposition.Sure he makes good one on one saves but so do all the keepers in the pl exceot gomes,We can defintely improve on him and fabianski is still too young.but keepers are one of wenger’s blindspots.both stoke’s goal were his fault and he is too error prone. Why not rape chelsea of cudacini he would love regular first team football for the best club in london. With a dodgy keeper one just concedes more.he often doesn’t lias with his defenders.a good keeper is worth at least 10 points a season.

  763. Wrighty7 says:

Sorry London, it could well be that mate!

  764. Magnus says:

Looking forward to that one :-) Can not describe how pissed i was with Song’s display. He was basicly 2 meters behind every situation….And he was so slow…like a lost turtle..

  765. Thomas Vik says:

    Pedro

Are you not impressed by the last 30 min?Come on,they outplayed chelsea, and look at the opta,we had 5 shots on goal, they had one,we were far better in both ends

  766. London says:

It’s great as every person returns you get another wave of euphoria.

  767. London says:

Wrighty, who cares we beat the chavs.

  768. London says:

    Thomas Vik

Crack open a bottle of virtual Peroni and join the party.

  769. London says:

    I’m hogging this aren’t I?

  770. Wrighty7 says:

    Laters all!

    Love it!

  771. Pedro says:

Thomas… I loved the whole thing! The second half was superb!

  772. Pedro says:

Fuck me, every cunt and their dog is out today…

Another to put in the bin…

  773. Magnus says:

Who said that Ade was ok….Come on ….Ade = offside. His movement off the ball was terrible. He ended with the ball high up in the midfield with the back against the goal every time… He made the Chavs defence look very good…

  774. Big Raddy says:

    Lucky ????

We scored 3 goals. The Chavs scored none.

    How is that lucky ?

    Time for another large one………

  775. JonJon says:

maciek, iv said the exact same thing as you re almunia

hes a second rate GK, nothing more.

hes never been given a cap for spain in all his career so why are we persisting with a GK whos regarded as second rate in his own country,

  776. Keyser says:

I said he was ok, that’s the whole point when you’re being pinned in and your midfield is outnumbered you want to lob the ball up to your strikers and for them to create some space and drag other players into an attack.

The Chav’s defence was dodgy, they’re midfield was good, Ivanovic should have had a yellow for his challenge on Clichy but got let off and Terry should have been sent off.

  777. London says:

    Evening Jonjon

What a big new shiney avitar you have. What does it say?

  778. Big Raddy says:

    Magnus.

It hate to disagree totally with a fellow Gunner. BUT, Ade made a huge difference to our team.

He was offside only twice (maybe once). He scared the living bejeesus out of their defence in the second half, and allowed RvP to play his normal game.

Earlier people complained that Ade was spending too much time on the wing. Then you say, he spent too much time in midfield with his back to goal..

He held the line. That is what he is paid to do.

And he made both goals. Anything else …. oh, yes, we won

  779. London says:

Let a couple of them go Pedro they’re funny

  780. Keyser says:

Big Raddy – I swear today he was a bit more violent aswell, he really did work hard and put himself about a bit, almost trying to bully players.

  781. Thomas Vik says:

    Cheers London!!!!!!LOVE IT

  782. London says:

This is no time to slag off individuals this is a time to basque in the glory. How do you spell basque?

  783. stevie says:

I am truely beaming, so happy. How good was Gallas, him staying could save us. Van Persie was truely world class in the second half.

  784. JonJon says:

    Haha london

    how are we mate??

yes i have finally found my avatar skills are complete,

it says click here to see me naked????

  785. London says:

There you go Thomas Vik and now you can see what the rest of us see in Le Grove.

  786. Magnus says:

Big Raddy… I’m pretty sure there were more then one offiside here… hi lacked the timing of the run’s, and ended up in offside or up midfield /wing. On the counter attacks he was lost. He was awol when the crosses came in… Ha was still up midfield. He should have been in the box, or at least close to it..
It was Sagna and Gael who made the game. They were fucking awesome…World class.

  787. London says:

    JonJon that is hilarious

  788. avenell says:

    JonJon …

My no2 and IT expert.. Nice one!!

  789. Confidentgoner says:

for our first goal, i thought someone played VP onside, anyone?

  790. London says:

Ahh Magnus we have found some common ground; I agree, Sagna and Clichy were truly awesome

  791. Big Raddy says:

As I say Magnus. We disagree. .

Though I do agree that the whole back 4 were brilliant today. WG had one of his best games,. JD was solid. And the FB’s outstanding.

  792. London says:

    Confidentgooner

RVP was well onside no doubt about it.

  793. Big Raddy says:

JonJOn. That is a truly repulsive idea – though I tried clicking !!

  794. stevie says:

    he was offside!

  795. Magnus says:

Offside by a mile +++ just love it :-)

  796. avenell says:

    The linesman played RVP onside..

£500 million on players.. £500 quid in the linesmans rear sky rocket… bargain..

  797. Big Raddy says:

I go with London and Confident. He was at least 10 yards onside :-D

  798. raif says:

    avenell / Wrighty7

Both of you Fuck Off My Brothers. :P

  799. avenell says:

Did he come out today raif? I’m sure you said Sunday!!!

  800. raif says:

ohh yes he did mate. we got home a Hour before kick off witch was a result ;)

also when the 2nd half kicked off i thought id hold him with me watch we watched the game. and law and behold we won :D

  801. charybdis1966 says:

I have to say “Gnarley – take a bow” – well predicted on the score. I was only dreaming of a 1-1 draw.

    so the rollercoaster continues.

  802. raif says:

i mean. While we watched the match

  803. avenell says:

Well you can Fuck off then Raif…

And he can Pee Off!! :)

    Well done mate!!

  804. avenell says:

Bit early for that >>>

  805. charybdis1966 says:

All this talk aobut whether the boy wonder was offside for the equaliser forgets that Drog the dog was offside for his winner here last year.

No complaints from the Chav’s bench about the officials on that occassion.

  806. Paulinho says:

Geez, that was a strange victory. Strangely devoid of nerves on the stretch cause I felt we got an extremely lukcy break with the goal, so it’s not as if I would felt that mugged off if we gave up an equaliser.

I thought Fabregas was our worst midfielder today. Poor defensively and offensively.

Song was the best of a medocre and is far better than Denilson as a cm. At least he has some strength and presence.

What impressed me about the team was way we refused to drop off and let them overlap us. After last season’s debacle there, I think the players were determined not to sit back.

  807. charybdis1966 says:

Also, what was the story about Geoff and the park bench ?

  808. choy says:

paulinho i thought fab was fantastic today!!!

  809. avenell says:

Fabs through balls were good today as always.. But Cesc has had his playmates taken away..
It’s difficult to be one of the best playmakers in the world, with the players Cesc has around him..
Nasri was the best and he wasn’t that great!!

  810. bergkamp says:

djourou an song were like a pair of hungry lions today boys,an my favourite man rvp done it,ade gave us what we been missing!

  811. raif says:

    avenell

    ;) haha

he actully Pee Off all over my hand when i was cleaning him today. was rather funny. actully.

  812. choy says:

lol read this from piers morgan:

You’re all quite right, a real fan would never have called for Wenger to go

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1090512/PIERS-MORGAN-Im-prat–real-fan-called-Wenger-go.html

  813. Paulinho says:

I’ll have to watch the match again but from what I remember Fabs was slack defensively and was unusually poor at retaining the ball under presssure.

I thought our back four was absolutely superb in the second half and made our midfield look half presentable.

  814. Paulinho says:

RVP is the man. Again, look at his goal record. That guy gets on the scoresheet, come rain or shine. He may look ungainly but he’s the only one who can conver those opportunities. Ade can never rifle those shots home like that.

  815. bergkamp says:

lol paulinho, just a quick not,van only scores when ade plays

  816. raif says:

right lads im off. till next time. :D

    Come On The ARSENAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  817. Paulinho says:

I agree Bergkamp, Ade lulls them into a false sense of security with his flipper feet and RVP lands the howitzer.

  818. choy says:

bergkamp he just won us the game today.. the wrong time to pick on rvp !!!

  819. avenell says:

RVP is good as long as he doesn’t use his left foot too often.. Once a game.. :)

RVP can rifle free kicks home.. trouble is he lives in St Albans…

  820. bergkamp says:

choy im not picking on van,all im sayin is without ade’s physical presence van cant play his game choy,an also without ade’s willingness to hassle defenders too many teams dictate games from the back against us,chelsea never got the chance to settle at the back today, villa did an man city did,so choy before you accuse me of picking on rvp you should think,i did rip van persie all week though, but he owed us that game today

  821. avenell says:

    Oy. Oy bergkamp!!!

Night Raif.. sleep well tee hee.. ;)

  822. bergkamp says:

avenell im chuffed, djourou was amazin, the last time he played like that was against chelsea as well

  823. choy says:

rvp doesn’t need adebayor to play his game… I think he plays well with any target man!

  824. bergkamp says:

i still think van should have hit the target with that free kick lol,how did jt an that other defender stay on the pitch?

  825. bergkamp says:

    yeah choy,rite,any target man

  826. choy says:

rvp doesn’t do a lot of tap ins.. he just belts it.. give him the ball in a good position and thats what he does most of the time!

  827. bergkamp says:

no but choy, niki bendtner needs closer support than ade,and he doesnt put the fear factor into defenders,jt an the chelsea defence couldnt settle an pick their passes, ade occupies them and that free’s up van

  828. Stu says:

JT and Ianovic didnt get sent off because Chelsea were at home and the ref didnt want a rollocking from the fans.

  829. avenell says:

Sagna nearly got sent of for damaging John Terry’s English studs with his knee..

  830. choy says:

nick is not like ade.. they may be built similarly but nik is again a second striker.. who links the midfield up with the main striker!

  831. Stu says:

    Bergkamp,

Rio and Terry once said that it was a nightmare playing against Ade but I think things have changed since then because he seems really lazy this season comared to last. I disagree with you on this because today he didnt really hassle them that much.

  832. bergkamp says:

choy,if you was playing against arsenal,an nikki bendtner an van were the forwards you would worry more about van,an mark him tighter, with ade its hard to judge, underate him at your peril,so as we saw today guys like jt get more atttracted to ade because he plays slightly further forward,i think bendtner will grow to get that respect from defenders but not right now he doesnt provide the players with what ade does, ade is the perfect platform for a van or an eduardo

  833. bergkamp says:

stu its presence, nothing to do with hasslin ,he hassles more than nik, he has pace, power and height, thats enough to put the shyts up most defenders, man city and villa’s defenders had too much time on the ball, thats one of the reasons they both controlled us

  834. choy says:

I am not under rating ade.. he assisted for the second goal and half assisted for the first!

but I was just saying that rvp just needs to play off the main striker! whoever that is!

  835. Stu says:

IMO Nik is more of a second striker than RvP is but Wenger is forcing Van back there.

Bendtners best game this season was arguably against Bolton when he played SS and Ade was main striker.

  836. bergkamp says:

last season ade hit 30,he stepped up to the plate because there was no one else, the role he played today was more natural to him,id still flog both van an ade tho lol

  837. bergkamp says:

yeah but choy, playin off of nikki b isnt good enough, nikki doesnt have what ade has, nik needs more support than ade an van doesnt give that when he partners him

  838. Stu says:

Bendtner may not be as much as a hassler as Ade is but Nik has far better positioning and that will definately help him bag some goals as he developes.

  839. avenell says:

RVP has to go back because Cesc, Nasri, Song and Denilson combination ain’t good enough to provide any service to the strikers..

  840. bergkamp says:

ade has assisted probably 80% of vans goals this season, maybe ade should play behind the van

  841. choy says:

I agree .. ade is the best of what we have at the moment!!!

  842. Stu says:

But Nik is a support striker. Ade is a proper forward whereas Nik prefers to link the midfield and striker. Thats wy they played so good at the reebok.

  843. bergkamp says:

no but if we got a good DM van droppin so deep might encroach upon cesc’s favourite creative area of the pitch,or it might allow van to play further forward, thats what song provided today,i think cesc moving further up the pitch allowed van to play more around ade than so deep

  844. bergkamp says:

nah but i think bendtner should focus more on centre forward, his first touch isnt that great to be droppin deep an standing out wide, its not about hassling defenders, but if you can stop the defenders picking their passes then you unsettle the team, thats what was good today,jt was forced to try run up the wing becuse he couldnt distribute the ball without worryin about ade up his ass

  845. avenell says:

But we played long straight balls up to RVP and Ade today, we never worked it through the midfield, Cesc was playing deeper than Song a lot of the time..

I’m glad we one, but we done that through determination not good football..

  846. bergkamp says:

choy id add denilson song van nik all to that best at the moment list

  847. avenell says:

    Wrong WON!!

  848. bergkamp says:

im glad we scored an offisde goal, fucking mug drogba scored about 6 against us an half of anelkas goals this season were offside

  849. bergkamp says:

im glad gael clichy didnt score that own goal, maybe his confidence will be back up

  850. choy says:

    how long before scholari’s gone?

  851. bergkamp says:

we need a new goalkeeper, big time, thats guy is a good keeper but his decision makin when it comes to coming off his line and his distribution are a joke

  852. bergkamp says:

the thing is i like scolari, especially after he had words with ray wilkins after he said we devalued the cup,but i think the chelsea managers job is just a money making opportunity,i dont think its up there for being a special job,i say he will be gone before the seasons done choy

  853. choy says:

i think avram grant was doing a better job!!

  854. bergkamp says:

frank lampard looked knackered an out on his feet in the 55th minute,an they gave that guy a new 5 year deal for 150k a week

  855. bergkamp says:

choy they wanted style plus substance to their game, but i dont think you can reprogramme an old horse like lampard,he plays so central in their team they will always look mourinho, but yeah i agree avram was doin a good job

  856. bergkamp says:

wey hey motd2 is comin on,i cant remember the last time i actually wanted to watch match of the day

  857. Jel says:

paul merson..??? what he said before this game ..hahaha wot a tit
expected better from him..hope someone rips the piss out of him

  858. Jel says:

good shout bergkamp just put it on ta mate

  859. avenell says:

MOTD Showed the offside a few times… Forgot to mention Terry’s sending off tackle in the summary.. Wankers…

  860. ethangunner says:

    well jel ,

if you want the truth RVP’s 1st goal was offside . and i don’t mean offside marginally , it was off side by a loooong way, over a meter ! and on any other day it would have been called .
Im glad we got 3 points but im sure you wont hear the last of RVP 1st goal !
i thought a draw would be a fair result .. so im over the moon that for once we had the favor of the gods shine on us !

This team on the day definitely can beat the best but i know wenger will be justifying now that he can win the title without bring in additions ! and consistency is the issue here , we can get rolled by stoke fulham and alike but turn up on the day and beat Man U and the chev’s ..

I totally agree with geoff song is utter shit ! he is so slow ! i cant believe wenger makes him 1st 11 on a consistent basis now !

  861. bergkamp says:

terrys sending off tackle and the 8 yellow cards the ref didnt give that other centre half avenell

  862. Paulinho says:

    Song isn’t slow. I believe it’s called a loping stride ;)

  863. bergkamp says:

song didnt have a bad game today, some people are just seriously eaten up by the loathing of anything that dont cost 20 mill, song is the best we got at the minute

  864. avenell says:

Deco looked like another “has been” drawing his Russian gangster pension..

  865. A says:

song actually had a surprisingly good game today, Today was a deserved win, we made more chances than them and made the most of them. The first goal was miles offside, but Terry should have been sent off, ivanovic should have got about 5 yellow cards! We deserved to edge it though the ref was shocking. We should definitely be back in the title race, utd could struggle next week without ronaldo and evra, and have been struggling to make chances in general, we’ve sorted out our internal problems and on the way up, chelsea are on the way down and things will get worse, and liverpool could struggle without torres for a while! Champions league might be our best bet still though

  866. bergkamp says:

poor old deco,he thought frank lampard was ronaldinho after a few early season deflections, now he knows he is the most programmed midfield muppet ever, and as for joe cole with his show us your medals talk, where was his big talk when mourinho spoke to him like a prick,an he jumped ship after gettin west ham relegated, little cunt, his bird has had cockroaches in her fanny

  867. bergkamp says:

willy gallas has inderectly fired us up HAIL EX SKIPPER BIG WILLY G

  868. bergkamp says:

if we actually sign a dm we could do a serious late surge i think, theo will be fresh, eduardo can get stronger an be there or there abouts by end of february maybe, thom rossicky could give us a late boost, we just gotta stop bein our own worst enemy

  869. avenell says:

I notice the cameras have stopped doing close ups on the gangster.. Does he bother turning up for the 1/4 billion no shots on target show?….

  870. bergkamp says:

that was a good goal by defoe, if we do want another striker maybe we should test him out

  871. A says:

yeah i agree bergs, theo, eduardo, rosicky would be a massive boost, and nasri will continue to improve and settle in, and vela being gradually introduced and developing, with maybe ramsey and wilshere developing and offering somthing as well! also vp if he stays fit will keep getting sharper and sharper, we could definitely make a late charge, as long as we’re there or there abouts come the new year. I wanted us to be within 6 points of first place after xmas and thoughts if we were we’d win the title, i still stand by that.

  872. A says:

defoe could never play for arsenal bergkamp, he’w a quality goalscorer but that’s it, not good enough all round to play for us, and we don’t want or need another striker unless he’s top top quality

  873. bergkamp says:

A we should be out of the title race, but the fact is chelsea an manure are droppin points too, liverpool might be flyin but do they have the experience to carry on,i think like u say,6 points behind second place chelsea at christmas

  874. avenell says:

I reckon Huntelaar would be cheaper than Defoe to buy..

I like Defoe though he is showing the Spuds what they could of had…

  875. bergkamp says:

i dont like defoe, but i think he could be available mid season where not many decent strikers are,due to pompeys money issues an obviously managerial changes A

  876. A says:

yeah i agree, we should be miles out of the title race by now, but utd and chelsea have had pretty significant problems too, and liverpool we’ve gotta hope don’t have what it takes, especially with torres out for a while. I really do think we have a good chance, though I’d like to see a top quality centre back and maybe big powerful dm signed in jan, though i still think even with no signings we’ll still be there or there abouts

  877. bergkamp says:

huntelaar has said he wants to play for bayern munich, the german league is his top option avenell,in other words he is doin a ribery an bottling the two big leagues for the big german money

  878. bergkamp says:

we need to just go on at least a 5 game run now to get the confidence up A

  879. A says:

neither huntelaar or defoe would walk into the team, we should spend money on every other position before forwards, unless ade leaves which he won’t mid season. When fit we have too many almost! VP, Ade, Eduardo, Bendtner, Vela, and theo will play there eventually, we really don’t need forwards, unless we sign a david villa standard player, which we just wouldn’t!

  880. Keyser says:

Liverpool’s squad is probably the weakest out of the other 3 and if any other team was to have 9 players out they’d suffer the most, Benitez has been playing pretty much the same players every week they have to burn out or tire soon.

Chelsea have a good squad but they lack options that can change games once you have a few players out, Joe Cole would have been good for them today, if they had ended up with Robinho he could have been the difference.

  881. A says:

yeah i agree bergs, win a week sat home to wigan, then beat liverpool, middlesbrough, hammer villa (though it would prob be a draw) and beat pompey, sorted!

  882. bergkamp says:

i dont reckon we need another striker, but if rvp or ade got a bad injury i think we would have to consider it,an defoe would have a good sell on value,he is tried an tested an will score goals immediately

  883. bergkamp says:

oh god i hate playin wigan,i know the kids stuffed them but that aussie gooner geezer is bound to score against us,whats his name again

  884. bergkamp says:

yakubu out for the season, dear oh dear

  885. A says:

If ade OR vp got a bad injury i think we’d be ok, but if ade AND vp were out again then we’d be in a bit of trouble. when is eduardo expected to be back, wonder if a shock inclusion on the bench on tuesday could be on the cards! bendtner looked to have got a bit of zip back in his step when he came on today, looked alot more confidence in his brief appearance, hopefully goal did him a world of good

  886. avenell says:

I have said before I would be happy if spent all our available budget to replace Flamini.
The CD wouldn’t look half as bad with a good hard working midfielder in front of them..
and we have at least 4 good CB’s..

  887. bergkamp says:

eduardo played for 30 minutes in a game last wedneseday against nott forest behind closed doors,we won 2-0 with simpson scoring both

  888. bergkamp says:

maybe everton should sign defoe lol, theyaint got a forward, yak out for the season an saha out for months

  889. bergkamp says:

avenell i aint a great song fan but you could see from havin a player specialised into that dm role it allowed gael cesc an them to get forward, song plugged the gaps,i say spend the money on the right man

  890. bergkamp says:

maybe it was lucky that diaby was unavailable today,i know wnegr loves diaby in a big game

  891. Stu says:

    Bergkamp,

    Eduardo didnt play at all.

  892. A says:

is that for certain? i heard that eduardo was deemed not quite ready so was pulled out at the last minute? We need a top class big centre back to partner gallas. Djorou isn’t ready yet, however well you play for 99% of a match a centre back can’t be left in the team if he costs a goal a game, if we’re happy with that we should sign titus bramble! I don’t think it’s just a hard working centre mid we need, we need someone very big and very strong, we need the physicality unless we want eboue back in to give us that!

  893. bergkamp says:

stu ,he played in a game set up for him, trust me,i read the whole report,he played 30 minutes

  894. Jules78 says:

I agree we need another type of player before going after a stiker… we need someone who can fill flamini’s boots and that certainly isn’t song – could be ramsey but he’s not trusted in that role for now – I still think we need another striker tho. Bendtner isn’t good enough and vela seems to be too light up front on a big game like that – on the wing YES, he’s a class palyer all in all – but up front against the likes of vidic, terry or rio I’m not sure.. we definitely could do with another top class striker RVP tends to get injured so is Ade and we need someone good to go and compete with them.

  895. Stu says:

Ya the right man. Like a DM, or a CB or a keeper. Song is not good enough. We got lucky that Songs poor positioning wasnt punished.

  896. suicidalsam says:

this is what i was waiting for, for quite a while. I will get a decent nights sleep tonight. :D we fucked the chavs. ade was great but he needs to stay in the center instead of going of wide like Henry. He can’t pull that off. another good thing, ade wasn’t offside more than 5 times today. :D

VP was great. he can change games but he just vanishes in some games but today was not one of those days. thank god!!

I don’t agree at all with what is being said in the comments. Song was shit today most of the game. he didn’t give any cover to the back 4 and the chavs midfield were running past him the entire 1st half. we need a real DM so as to release Fab.

well, i just hope this is not another false dawn like after the manu game.
“I fear the greeks even when they bring gifts” is what comes to mind when thinking of arsenal this season.

chavs where shit today. didn’t create anything even with bullocks, limpard and deco in the midfield. Arsenal were great in the second half, they were getting stuck in. we need to play like that against the weaker teams.

  897. avenell says:

Someone else said he got pulled out at the last minute..
But why set up a special game behind closed doors then not play the player it was set up for..
Even playing for 30 mins, worries me a bit…..

  898. Jules78 says:

Almunia’s dreadful btw – time to give fabianski a proper run in

  899. A says:

bergs where did you read the report? The game was behind closed doors against notts forest and yeah set up specially for him but all reports i heard said that he was pulled out of it at the last minute as deemed not quite ready yet.

  900. bergkamp says:

if we stay within the 6 points range its all about signing only the right man for the job,not just a panic buy,we might have to make a club sell with some inflated offers but like i say,if the right man aint available then make him available, thats what the yanks job will be

  901. bergkamp says:

no i read off a site off the news now list that ed played for 30 minutes ,had a good stroll, took a half hard clattering (probably set up by arsene to help his mind) an that was about it A

  902. Pedro says:

    Evening Grovers!

I’ve just finished my match report!

    It post at 0845 tomorrow!

    See you then!

    Good night!

  903. A says:

quite a few comments on there bergs saying that eduardo didn’t actually play, and isn’t a report as such just says he played and simpson scored twice!

  904. avenell says:

If the Dippers are skint Alonso could come at the right price… Don’t help the CL though but then most good players are cup tied…

  905. A says:

ah ok bergs, if you’ve read an actual report then must be true, awesome!

  906. A says:

avenell alonso couldn’t help with our dm problem, would be a complete waste of money unless cesc gets injured!

  907. bergkamp says:

one major question, that chelsea right back was takin a throw in an ade was standing infront of him holding his nutz, why?

  908. London says:

    Stu

    Yes, Eduardo did play

  909. bergkamp says:

i think thats a rumour,i read a proper report an they were sayin they are happy that he just got to feel the football pitch again even though he is miles away from a return A, i think that he didnt play talk is just an over the top rumour,he played

  910. bergkamp says:

barry for 10 mill,or maybe we should really test the scousers an bid for the argie

  911. avenell says:

A Alonso’s form as the holding midfield player is the main reason for Liverpool doing so well this season…

  912. London says:

Seems like I might have got the Eduardo story wrong

  913. bergkamp says:

alonso is like gilberto,he doesnt do yellow cards or real combat, but he spots danger before it happens

  914. Seb says:

Song is the new Eboue, someone to vent at when things aren’t going for us. Yes he may never be the most stylish passer or paciest player, but he worked and covered alright from what I saw today. Calls for Vela and Wilshere to play instead of Denilson and Song are just madness – at Stamford Bridge? bring on the carling kids? give over, the ugly sisters might not get it right every time but they are experienced and they worked hard today. It’s time to stop shitting on our own and realise that the team is made up of a lot of different kinds of players, yes if we buy a quality CM in January I for one won’t complain, but we don’t need to rip what we’ve got to shreds in the meantime.

  915. A says:

avenell mascherano plays dm, if mascherano wasn’t playing alonso wouldn’t have anything like the defensive capabilities to do the job by himself! He’s a better version of denilson, same style. We need someone who improves us physically, that’s our number one problem! Alonso is a very good player but in absolutely no way what we need

  916. Lou says:

The offside goal was lucky for us but let’s not forget that Chelsea have beaten us twice in recent years with offside goals and nobody seemed that bothered at the time. Why was Terry still on the pitch after that 2 footed tackle? Why was Ivanovic on the pitch after 3 blatant yellow card offences? I actually don’t think we were that lucky at all. They had one effing shot on target throughout the whole game and we even scored their goal for them. There was however a certain feeling of deliciousness at the final whistle wasn’t there?

  917. avenell says:

Arsenal.com should let us know what Eduardo is doing, we are fans and we want him to come back and we should be told the truth..

  918. Jel says:

ethan gunner just read ur post.. i feel its strange the way u talk about the 1st goal being offside..ur right it was but we got a decision 4 a change..u dont sound like u too pleased?? im really glad song played today & im a big fan of ramsey…he protected the defence well chelsea had 1 shot on target..u r probably 1 of those people who never rated gilberto..(the invisible wall)..now dont get me wrong this is arsenal football club & i think we can get a better player in that position but song done a great job 2day & deserves credit…

  919. bergkamp says:

we should be told but i think they gotta be careful with sayin he will be back and all that, they need to clatter him a few times to see if the no nails holds before they make us any promises avenell

  920. A says:

barry also isn’t anything like physical enough. He’d also get sent off every other match for us cos he’s probably the firtiest fucker in the prem but with us the ref wouldn’t let him get away with it! The only players in the prem who could improve us that way would be mikel, or essien, though mascherano would be good too, none of them would be available though so we’d need to go abroad or make do.

london you saying he did or didn’t play then? I want someone who actually watched the match to say because loads of people saying loads of different things, though i don’t know how anyone would know as it was behind closed doors!!

  921. bergkamp says:

did you see lampard havin a laugh an joke with the ref, typical

  922. Stu says:

I heard that Dudu was due to play in a game that was arranged especially for him but the staff decided not to play khim at the last minute.

  923. avenell says:

A We need someone who can release Cesc to work his magic further up the field.
Alonso can do that at the moment Cesc is doing the holding midfield bit, that is why we cannot supply the strikers with decent balls and they have to drop deep..

  924. bergkamp says:

dm players dont need to be that physical,be fast in the brain like gilberto, flamini was quite physical but nowhere near as good as gilberto, just gotta be smart an give away the fouls an break up the play like an italian

  925. A says:

nah avenell, alonso couldn’t. hleb is the reason cesc got the ball further up the pitch, not flamini. We need someone big and strong so team can’t bully us, and alonso simply isn’t that sort of player. He’s be a slight improvement but we need a monster in there, not the same type but slightly better than denilson

  926. avenell says:

Bergkamp I don’t want promises but I would like to know he got through his first game.. It is a special injury..

  927. bergkamp says:

Avenell thats it,i think if we can get cesc further up the pitch robin can play much closer to ade,it can only pay off,i always think van is in cescs space but i think he needs to go there to get the ball right now

  928. Stu says:

My choice for Cescs partner is between Alonso and Cana.

Alonso because he is on the best form of his career and we would have been reeping the rewards if AW wasnt so tight. ALso He has a good relationship with Cesc from the spanish team and Cesc(our captain) wants him here too.

Cana because he just looks like what we need. A midfield inforcer.

  929. bergkamp says:

avenell,i hear you,but from what they were sayin they just wanted to motivate him by reminding him what the dressing room is like, what its like to have an enemy to beat, i think it was all motivational includin eduardo in the team, but for the reserves vital because they have a long gap inbetween games at the moment

  930. A says:

dm players don’t need to be that physical no, there are loads of different types. What we need is someone who is incredibly physical because we are massively lacking physically in our other three midfielders, which is why teams like stoke and villa can simply outstrength and bully us. If we don’t use a dm to introduce some physicallity then eboue will have to start playing soon as he’s back and bring that balance, just like last season

  931. A says:

stu alonso wouldn’t be good as dm by himself!! He can do that playmaker role but doesn’t have the physicallity, or engine to do it by himself! If he did then he would for club and country, rather than senna sitting behind him for spain when he plays, and mascherano behind/alongside him for liverpool!

  932. Jules78 says:

I know there isn’t a chance but I’d love the boss to go for cambiasso

  933. bergkamp says:

lol cana is a myth, my choice is veloso,a smooth operator, takes good freekicks, two footed, young, hard in the tackle, looks like an angel, cana just has redcard me written on his face,he is a euro robbie savage, kevin davies would mug him

  934. gnarleygeorge9 says:

OLÉ OLÉ OLÉ OLÉ ARSENAL ARSENAL

  935. BOY BETTER KNOW says:

    wheres m.p people

  936. avenell says:

A.. The two centre backs and Song give the ball straight to Cesc as soon as they can..

We need a holding midfield player who can take the ball off the back 4 and find cesc further up the pitch..
even If Hleb was playing now the gap between where he operates and where Cesc is at the moment is too great..

  937. bergkamp says:

if it wasnt for 5 years of youtube footage bein made into a 3 minute vid none of us would have heard hardly about cana, where as veloso is wanted across europe, that says it all

  938. bergkamp says:

    bring back john jenson

  939. Jules78 says:

and paly Ramsey in europe, please please, send song on loan together with bendtner

  940. A says:

avenell that always happened. cesc has always taken the ball off the centre backs, flamini was pants on the ball, much worse than denilson, so if that was the case then cesc would be better this year! It’s when the ball is further up the pitch that theo and nasri are much more direct than hleb was, and hleb brought cesc into the game non stop, whereas they don’t at all!

  941. bergkamp says:

no stoke bully our centre halfs on set pieces,we need to fight an not hope the ref blows his whistle,a dm aint gonna stop a long throw in A,when your defenders get roughed up thats it,your base is wobbling,no platform to build on

  942. avenell says:

If Cana ever wore the red and white of Arsenal he wouldn’t get away with half the shit he does on that you tube clip..

  943. Stu says:

What are you basing that on Bergkamp? Why do you think Cana is a red waiting to happen?

  944. bergkamp says:

flamini was ok on the ball, but he was made to look better by the fact that cesc is always in space an available to take the ball, gilberto was a poor passer of the ball but a great DM

  945. A says:

they bullied us in the midfield the whole time, as villa did…. their goals were bullying the defenders but the reason we couldn’t get hold of the midfield in either game was because they bullied us in midfield and we were too weak….

  946. gnarleygeorge9 says:

IMO Big JD20 should become a regular. He kept his head after the own goal. In fact he got better as the game went on. He seems to be a natural CB with his heading & last second tackling ability. & he can learn from Billy G & Silvestre.

Speaking of Billy G, to show this sort of form after what has transpired, displays backbone the size of a blue whale & the integrity of a true champion.

William Gallas you are OK by me :D

  947. A says:

yeah i agree about that bergkamp, both gilbo and flamini were average at best on the ball, whereas denilson is good. So if that was the issue then cesc would be better this year rather than worse….

  948. bergkamp says:

Stu,what are you basin this man bein arsenal class on?? Cana isnt hard,he just plays with energy, same as flamini, cana is just a french league player, thats why essien cost a fortune an diarra and flamini was sought after, but cana will not attract interest

  949. avenell says:

Flamini was Cescs water carrier.. he got the ball beyond the halfway line then passed to Cesc.
Flamini passing stats were good if I remember..

  950. A says:

gnarley it depends, hopefully djourou with a few games under his belt will stop the costing us a goal a game thing, but at the moment however well you play the rest of the time if you cost a goal a game you aren’t a good defender!

  951. si-lo says:

Wilshere could be 103 but this site will still be a pile of shit. What then?

  952. bergkamp says:

cana isnt up to bein the man who can help arsenal move to the next level,my opinion

  953. avenell says:

si-lo You will still be reading it!!!

  954. A says:

this season denilson’s pass stats are the third best in the premiership, cesc is only 5th!

  955. bergkamp says:

yeah avanell because cesc always came to flamini for the ball,an u can pass to cesc under pressure, thats why flamini’s stats were shythot,i think i saw a stat an over 30% of his passes were shorter than 12 yards an to cesc

  956. Stu says:

Cana is like Flamini. BHe is bigger, probably stronger and a good passer to. Flamini did so well last season, who is to say that Cana wouldnt be just as good? Cana has actually never been sent off so there is no proof to say that he would be sent off here. He best players are the fiery ones. Its the spark. Cesc has been sent off. All of our best players have.

Cana would surely be a better option that Song anways.

  957. bergkamp says:

i wouldnt complain if we signed cana, but he aint the best,we need a better free kick taker, and a better footballer, and there are two or 3 dm’s who would suit us better ,barry bein one, alonso bein another an veloso bein another

  958. bergkamp says:

flamini worked hard an didnt have a bad game that i can remember last season, he covered pitches with non stop running,i cant see a utility player like cana doin that

  959. avenell says:

If Cana does what he does on that you tube clip in a red and white shirt he will be sent off.

If he doesn’t do whats in that clip no one would want him..

    Chicken and egg situ..

  960. A says:

barry and alonso simply wouldn’t, and veluso is completely untested and from a very different league! free kick takers have absolutely nothing to do with who we should sign! Unless we could get juninho, del piero, or ronaldinho then it wouldn’t make a difference as vp is fantastic at delivering set pieces when crossing, and can score them. Unless one of those three or a couple others then noone scores free kicks on that regular a basis

  961. bergkamp says:

definantly better than song, but id play song for a few games to test the situation of a DM and how it would change the team, then decide if a holdin DM or an all action DM like cana would suit us better

  962. avenell says:

If RVP is going to take free kicks we need to campaign to make the goals higher..

  963. bergkamp says:

and so is cana untested, and so was anyone who ever kicked a ball once, even thierry henry

  964. bergkamp says:

make the goals higher or make the walls shorter than 4ft

  965. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Did anyone see Scolari sooking about the ref post game.

Big Phil like I said @ half time 1-2 final score. When we get the 1st chelsea will shit themselves…………& they did. I was expecting those overpaid mercenaries to come @ us big time though, paid that amount of money it would be the least they could do for their fair weather fans, but they were pathetic. Chelsea are soft as butter as was seen in the 1st half. We weren’t allowed to tackle them, coz they would drop to the ground in pain.

I would describe Chelsea as harmless in the scheme of things, no wonder they haven’t qualified for the last 16 yet

  966. A says:

We would never sign a player for alot of money in january who is completely untested, and had only played in one country, like veluso, because we couldn’t rely on him to come straight into the team. The only player i could see happening would be yaya if available, because he’s played in so many different countries, and has played with us before so wouldn’t be as big a risk. Or maybe someone from france, though i know nothing about cana and havn’t watched a youtube video

  967. bergkamp says:

not having a good free kick taker who would rather hit the target with a little less pace is costing us maybe 4 or 6 or 6 points a season, thats a lot,but obviously you have to have players who can do more than hit a dead ball, but thats why some dm’s cost more than others, veloso is my choice,i vouch for him,il put my car on ebay an give the money to charity if he aint better than song if we sign him in january

  968. bergkamp says:

A that gamble could win us something,we signed jose reyes in january an his goals kept us invincible, christopher wreh was a gamble, this year we could set the cesc free by signing the correct support,an next time gael slips over a proper dm will sweep up for him

  969. Stu says:

Thats just it bergkamp, anyone would be better than song so your not risking anything. How can you properly vouch for Veloso? Do you watch the Portugese league every week and watch Veloso specifically? No, probably not. He would also take time to settle like anyone else would.

  970. bergkamp says:

i dont think we will bust the transfer market wide open, altho i reckon he will sign a dm

  971. bergkamp says:

i seen him play a few times in the CL an out of all the players in the DM he is the man touted across europe, cana is a 3 minute youtube legend, and yaya well barca lost half the games he played last season thats why they signed keita

  972. bergkamp says:

stu he would take time to settle, but if we bought yaya he would too,an he would of at the start of the season as well, so at least if we do sign a player an we dont win nothing we wont have to worry about settling him in next season, maybe replacing him,but not settling in

  973. Paulinho says:

A, Denilson’s pass stats are high cause he passes sideways all day and shifts the creative responsibilty to others.

  974. bergkamp says:

i saw that veloso guy say he could have joined a london team playin champions league football on the deadline night but it wasnt chelsea ,so maybe we tried sign him already , id settle for kevin nolan in january to see the season out, would be a bad ass enforcer, but he is always knackered by 3.45 on a saturday afternoon

  975. avenell says:

Nice chatting to you lads, but I’m out of here … Goodnight..

  976. bergkamp says:

if only denilson had a touch of pace

  977. Stu says:

Campo made Nolan look so good. Nolan is good tho, moght be a good stopgap.

    Night avenell. :)

  978. bergkamp says:

    avenell,laters mate

  979. bergkamp says:

well we will have to see in january stu, everyone has their ideal players but it will be interesting,il be interested to see if anyone comes in,wouldnt suprise me if january comes and goes, but its all about the 6 point gap and the returning players bringing their enthusiam to play back to the squad, thats our challenge there!

  980. bergkamp says:

rite im off catch you lot next time

  981. ''O.B'' says:

ONE MAN WENT TO BED………WENT TO BED WITH ASHLEY……….ONE MAN AND HIS MOBILE PHONE…….WENT TO BED WITH ASHLEY…………….

  982. goonermichael says:

    998

  983. goonermichael says:

    999

  984. goonermichael says:

1000. Todays win deserves a thousand comments. Come on you REDS

  985. A says:

paulinho that’s simply untrue about denilson, he doesn’t shift the creative duty to others, which is why he’s second equal (with quite a few people) and top of our assists this season…. Did you miss the quality for the (albeit offside) equaliser today?! Denilson is a very very good passer of the ball

  986. David says:

Denilson is shit…greatest thing he did today was rob Cashley but then started diving instead of taking a shot on goal

  987. Keyser says:

Denilson had a poor first half but played well in the second he ran around endlessly, he’s not the quickest or the strongest but worked hard today.

He played Right Midfield, against Chelsea who outnumbered us in midfield and was up against Ashley Cole one of the quickest and best left backs in the premiership, he only made it past him a couple of times in the first half.

  988. ethangunner says:

ive come to the conclusion that wenger gets out the best from average players,
i think thats why most endure the arsenal curse , last night other than almunia i cannot fault the team !

and im glad when he was winning he didnt sub on til very late in the game

    perhaps he’s learning ..

  989. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    ethan

Wenger can whip manure & chelski coz he shows them respect, appears to approach the game well prepared, but when it comes to the lesser likes (whom have beaten us) its as if he assumes that he doesn’t need to prepare a specific game plan, for the occasion, & as a result we lose.

  990. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Some one made the comment on here that Anelka didn’t seem to mind The Arsenal winning. Well afterall he is in the Top 50 Greatest Gooners of all time

  991. ikon says:

i think chelsea are in a bigger mess than us. Our problems lie only on the field, they have problems all over on field and off it.

  992. gnarleygeorge9 says:

I think its sad when Scolari blames the loss on the refs decision in the 1st goal, which he said affected the concentration of his players. He said nothing about the gutsy fightback by The Arsenal.

So whats he mean then? Chelsea are used to bribing referees, & that wasn’t in the script. Chelsea are the only club who should be favoured by refereeing decisions, or is he saying his players are soft in the ticker department & are susceptable to sooking if they don’t get their own way.

Ha Ha Ha you trendy fuckwits. Go cry in your lattes chelsea wankers.

  993. xeeez says:

haha..That was some DIVE by Denilson! :)

  994. xeeez says:

here are my ratings..wana check how much I differ from Geoff/Pedro’s :) ..

    Al 6

    Bac 7
    Gallas 7
JD 7 (great other than the OG)
Clichey 6 (was average in the first but great in the 2nd half)

    Song 6
    Denilson 5
    Cesc 7
    Nasri 6(Same as clichey)

    Rvp 8
    Ade 7

  995. ArsenalKenya says:

THE FIRST GOAL WAS A CLEAN ONE ….DESPITE ALL THE MOANS FROM SCHOLARI.

Now with a new captain and new team spirit we can focus and move on to win the league. Even though Denilson and Song tried their best i still feel they need more pace. Song was slow at times but he did the job. For Denilson what a miss after getting a good thru pass from PINKY BOOT MAN.

    COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!

NOW WE KNOW WHO THE BOYS ARE FROM THE MEN!!!

  996. kenny smith says:

How many offside goals have we had scored against us last season??? it was about time we got a bit of luck

  997. geoff says:

Ethan, where will you leave the door keys?

  998. Big Raddy says:

Is this some kind of code, Geoff? Are you two up for some “man love” ?

  999. Seb says:

haha ArsenalKenya, now that is partisanship gone mad. He was about a mile offside, Scolari has every right to expect an apology.

But as Robin said, he has had perfectly good goals disallowed before, so what goes around comes around, and I’m certainly not complaining.

  1000. Evo in Oz says:

    morning all,

fuck yeah i love beating the scum!

  1001. geoff says:

Raddy the way I feel I could fuck a goat, even an ugly one, but no, Ethan said some time ago that he wouldn’t bet his house on us winning, so I took his bet!

Not that you’d know it, we had so many AKB’s on saying I must be disappointed we won, what a bunch of cunts, why do they think I write a blog???

They are pretty stupid as well as they never get on!

  1002. geoff says:

If their airport wasn’t closed I’d be on my way to Thailand!

  1003. Evo in Oz says:

the pundits dont know what to say with that game hey….dickheads saying one thing, other dickheads saying another thing.

Alan Shearer got it right saying after we scored the first goal the confidence just rose though the roof and there was only one team going to win after that!

i love the Arsenal and i love you’se all!

  1004. geoff says:

And if Denilson was any good he would have made it 3-1 from the brilliance of Bendtner!

  1005. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Good evening london

I was waiting for the wave after wave of forward pressure from the russian owned team but it never came. Big Johan patrolled well @ the back with Billy G.

  1006. geoff says:

Johan was immense as was Gallas, and what a great goal, Almunia has to go I’m afraid.

  1007. Seb says:

He did make a pig’s ear of that chance Geoff, that is undeniable.

  1008. Evo in Oz says:

ive RVP or another bloke had that strike at the end that Denilson had it surely would have been 3-1 – Agreed Geoff! He did play a good role tonight though!

  1009. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Geoff

Have you always been a little g in geoff, I always thought you used the Big G ;)

  1010. Geoff says:

    What Gnarley?

  1011. Sarge says:

Seb, yep the first goal was offside and about time we got a bit of luck. By the same token I don’t see Scolari saying too much about the fact that Terry and Ivanovic should have been sent off.

  1012. gnarleygeorge9 says:

While most were losing their heads @ half time, old gnarley kept his when he predicted 1-2. I think I’m just getting the hang of this game called footy

  1013. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Oh there you go geoff yes thats the Geoff I know ;)

  1014. Geoff says:

I had a wordpress issue, thanks for the heads up Gnarley!

  1015. Big Raddy says:

I love you too Evo .

It wasn’t the best pass from Nik, it sent Denilson wide. But Den should have pulled it back to the 4 AFC players running into the box.

Amazing …. in the 92nd minute our players were still so focussed and full of energy.

  1016. iceman says:

Geoff you predicted we’d lose if Song started…………. :)

  1017. Evo in Oz says:

Well 2 things i must say!!!

    1. RVP said in his after match press talk that he scored one a few seasons ago against the other team in Fulham which was ruled offside, but onside!
    2. The foxsports commentary (et al – Sky sports blokes) said in real time during the game they felt the ball came off a blue shirt. Then they watched the replay and claimed it to be none other than A.cole who had played RVP thru….

  1018. xeeez says:

have to agree was really down at HT GG and I had a headache..made myself a cup of tea and everything went rosy again :)

  1019. Sarge says:

BR, You’re right the pass wasn’t that great but Denilson’s first touch sent the ball 10 feet in front of him. He never had control of the ball after that.

  1020. Evo in Oz says:

thanks Big Rad. fuck i love beating those bastards, it was a bloody great result. they didnt even score a goal!

  1021. buck says:

Obviously Wenger was speaking of the player individual careers.

  1022. xeeez says:

haha..what a stat! Anelka hasnt had a shot on GOAL in the 3 games against us, Pool and Mancs!

  1023. Geoff says:

Iceman I said I will go for an Arsenal win, but if he plays Song, a Chelsea win. It nearly was and if Song had anything to do with it I’d be singing his praises.

    He didn’t though did he!

I still think he’s a poor player, if we had, say Barry in there, we may had won 5-1.

  1024. Big Raddy says:

My thoughts prior to kick -off were that as long as we fought to the end, I would be happy – whatever the result.

I felt the same at half-time. Our spirit throughout was fantastic. Heads didn’t drop after the O.G., in fact quite the opposite.

It seems that the change of Cpt. really is having a positive effect

  1025. Geoff says:

Anyway Iceman, I won Ethan’s house yesterday, what did you win!!!

  1026. xeeez says:

Have to agree there Geoff..Song is poor..anybody could see the big gulf in class between the two holding midfielders on the pitch! Song and Mikel

  1027. Big Raddy says:

    I agree Geoff.

Though it was probably the Lumps best game for us -particularly 2nd half.

  1028. Evo in Oz says:

Geoff – when are we organising the moving in party at Ethans house?

  1029. Big Raddy says:

Geoff, what would you have lost had Ethan won the bet ?

  1030. Geoff says:

I’m so happy I’ll leave it to you good folk, notice Ethan’s having a sulk up!

  1031. Geoff says:

I think I may have mention my Arsenal bobble hat.

  1032. iceman says:

I was jumping like a mad man after the 1st (for some reason) and 2nd goals….and am having a decent Monday after yonks……not too shabby for me……

    How’s the crib?

P.S I had offered and now am increasing the money I will donate for Song’s transport if/when he’s moved on!!

  1033. Evo in Oz says:

i will bring a couple of bottles of The Grange and a couple of bottles of the Hill of Grace to the moving in party!

  1034. Franchise says:

xeeez cznt u remember the cracker he scored against us when he was out bolton. Lehmann no chance.

    Morning Guys!!!!!

  1035. Pedro says:

    NEW POST!

  1036. Franchise says:

    * at not out
