Ok I am taking Arsene’s comments and applying the youngest, oldest rule here, he said his current team will have a future at Arsenal for 15 to 20 years, so if we say the youngest members, like Jack and Rambo get the 20 year one, and Cesc at 21 gets the 15 year one, they will be all in their middle 30’s by then, and far too old to play for Arsenal, so what exactly is the boss talking about?
And that has always been my question, when Cesc gets to 24, his successor will be 20 and should be replacing him, so when Cesc reaches the age when he is most marketable, playing his best football and worth the most, we sell him and replace him with a younger player, who himself is now entering the twilight of his Arsenal career at 20!
Doesn’t make sense does it? You can only build a young team once Arsene, and if they are good, they will dominate, much like the Mancs did, and then you can’t split them up, so you keep them until they get old and by doing that you stifle the young crop, pissing them off so forcing them to leave early and so on.
So through all this experiment, you wait 6 or 7 years for the team to grow up, get a few years of domination, then they get old and break up, experiment doomed, what we should do is blend youth with experience and by that I mean a few 24, 25 and 26 year olds, not a 31 and 30 year old.
All this is to try and make sense of what the boss was saying about 15 and 20 years, so not a criticism just trying some theories out, and whichever way I cut it, the theory makes no sense, other than Arsenal save money.
Or do they? What we end up with is 20 odd mediocre players earning good money instead of 4 or 5 stars on great money, the end result is the same size wage bill, except one team wins trophies and the other doesn’t, which one would you rather be? and which one do you think we are?
What is clear to me is that Song is not an exceptionally talented footballer and if he plays today I expect us to lose. So onto today.
I would think the goalkeeper will be Almunia with a back four of Sagna, Gallas, Silvestre and Clichy. I would like a midfield of Nasri Cesc Ramsey and Vela but I expect a midfield of Nasri Cesc Song and Denilson.
If you want to put a bit of steel in there Arsene, put Kolo in and not Song, if anyone can tell me what attributes Song brings to this team, I’m all ears.
Forward line has to be Robin and Ade, though it wouldn’t surprise me to see Denilson and Song in a 5 man midfield with Ade on his own, I won’t be horrified with that but if he does it, then put Kolo in there instead of Song.
I feel Scolari will show a lot of respect toward us and play with a packed midfield, leaving Anelka alone up front, I don’t think it will be a free flowing game but more a tactical game of chess, I only hope someone drops the box that holds the chess pieces on Ashley Cole’s head early doors.
I will go for an Arsenal win, but if he plays Song, a Chelsea win, this has nothing to do with a ‘Song witch hunt’ I have never disliked someone I have never met, I just think he offers us nothing other than liability, I’m sorry Alex, but you’re not good enough, anyone else in the entire squad I would not have a problem with other than you, sorry mate, I’m an Arsenal fan.
Let’s shut these chavs up boys, it’s been a while since we collected our customary points at the Bridge, 4 years in fact, go get three points Arsenal, show the world what you’ve got and how you can play, show the world you’re The Arsenal!

I think the boys will be up for this. Cesc will be all out to prove his worth as the leader of a new phase in The Clubs illustrious history. Score prediction 1-2 I reckon

Morning all, any thoughts on my age theory? Or anyone enlighten me on Song’s attributes?

Song is the replacement for Eboue!
November 30, 2008 at 09:33
i’ma say that there is going to be a few goals today, and i think 2-3. ade will be keen to prove he’s fit and will bag a brace, with cesc or nasri scoring the other. go gunners!
November 30, 2008 at 09:35
Geoff
ur post is a intresting one. Food for thought indeed. as like you said Cesc and so on in there 20’s wenger speaks about 15 years later. so Cesc will be 35.
by that time we would have sold him already. i hope someone points this out to wenger at the next interview or somthing. id like to hear what he says
November 30, 2008 at 09:36

November 30, 2008 at 09:37
1st of all i have diagree about RVP he is better off sold than pretending to play for arsenal. I would love to have bendtner and Ade up front
November 30, 2008 at 09:39
Strange but true – we have let in more goals than Fulham, but have scored more than any team other than Chelsea.
I’ll back us to score today and pray that Gallas, Silvestre and Almunia have a blinder.
November 30, 2008 at 09:44
good post Geoff….
i think we will have to contend with Song coz kolo is still injured…..
how about playing Robin on right nasri on left and Ade and nikk upfront??????
Ade and nikk combine well…better than nikk and Robin and even some times better than ade and robin
November 30, 2008 at 09:44
And keeping cesc and denilson in mid
November 30, 2008 at 09:47
rather van persie in my team than adebayor. ade just has heaps of phyisical prowess! bendtner needs more time, and the right attitude. he occasionally seems lazy when he’s not on the ball. we might see him in a sub role, but i doubt he’ll start unless ade isn’t deemed match-fit.
November 30, 2008 at 09:48
that said though, both bendy and ade are front-liners. rvp is a 2nd striker, so ehh. i think he’s an assured starter, and who partners him is upto wenger.
November 30, 2008 at 09:50
Van Persie is not a player this team needs. He’s a luxury player, which sometimes can win you games single-handedly. But those games are very rare.
November 30, 2008 at 09:51
So far the results have gone our way, if the Mancs draw or lose and we win, we’ll be back in there.
November 30, 2008 at 09:52
BOLLOCKS TO GOOD LUCK CHARMS.
November 30, 2008 at 09:53
to be honest RvP is playing rather Crap, and comes far far to deep to get the ball. when he does there is NO ONE in the bloody Box. as ADE has peeled off to the Wings.
very annoying. i want to see ADE & VELA upfront. a good little and large combo.
November 30, 2008 at 09:53
worst rumour ever……………. “Gallas to Spurs” claimed by daily mirror…lols :p

Cole dig at Gunners style
Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole has told Arsenal their fancy football means nothing without medals.
The Gunners have not won a trophy since their FA Cup victory in 2005 and look unlikely to challenge for the Premier League this season after losing five games already.
And Cole, whose Chelsea side host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, said: “In fairness to Arsenal, they are playing nice football but look at the past four years and who’s won the trophies? ”
He added: “They are fantastic to watch but I wouldn’t want to be playing for a team that didn’t win anything. Winning trophies is what counts.
“You are not going to be sitting on the beach in the summer at the end of the season speaking about that Cruyff turn you did back in December, or that nutmeg you did in January, are you?
“What’s the point in that? You want to be thinking about winning trophies. That’s what it’s all about.
“We want to put some silverware on the table this year. And that’s what we intend to do.”
November 30, 2008 at 09:55
heh, idk… what i do know is that i have a good feeling about this game. manc’s on my birthday was always going to go well, and this is that same deal. i guess whoever plays doesn’t matter really, all we want is 3 points.
gonna throw it out there too but liverpool to be held by west ham too. =P
November 30, 2008 at 09:55
I first open Le Grove at about 8 o’clock in the morning to find out what has been happening on the night shift then my thoughts turn to the idea of if I had to write today’s post what I would say and 90% of the time I am at a loss. It is at this point that I realise how difficult it must be to come up a fresh idea every day and it is for the fact that both you and Pedro manage to do just that, I salute you both.
I reckon that Wenger’s formation on Tuesday was practice for today’s game. It was a bit dull with the emphasis on keeping a clean sheet. I have gone on all season that the sole reason for Song being at the club is for today’s game. I thought his tackling, his passing and his positional play took a step forward on Tuesday but I of course know that they have to take another leap forward for today’s game; although, I still have faith that he can do that. So with that hope in my heart I believe that we can beat Chelsea with Alexandre Song playing today.
November 30, 2008 at 09:55
vela should get a chance….. unleash him against the chavs and the kid will score a hat trick….

November 30, 2008 at 10:01
what’s your team for today raif?
November 30, 2008 at 10:02
best lineup for me would be
Almunia
Sagna-Sylvest-Gallas-Clichy
Nasri-Cesc-Denilsom-Vela
Diaby
Ade
Vela should play, high time
November 30, 2008 at 10:05
ikon.. i like that .. but isn’t diaby out?
I wish wenger had the balls to start vela… that boy is ready!!!
November 30, 2008 at 10:06
Choy
to be honest im pritty much stuck on what the team would be or what i would pick
Hmmm let me think
Almuina
Sagan, Gallas, Silvest, Clichy
Dinilson, Cesc, Song, Nasri,
Ade, Rvp,
thats what i think wenger would play.
but i would like Song out with somone else lol. maybe Rambo or Diaby
November 30, 2008 at 10:09
shit… so i think song will start sigh

THEO WALCOTT QUICK RETURN
Crocked Arsenal winger could be back by February
THEO WALCOTT – quick healer
By AIDAN MAGEE, 29/11/2008
THEO WALCOTT could be back an incredible TWO MONTHS ahead of schedule.
The Arsenal wing wizard dislocated his shoulder on England duty and Arsene Wenger feared his teenage star was sidelined for four months.
But following an operation to repair the shoulder ligaments, Walcott’s surgeon is confident he could be back by the end of January.
Walcott, 19, has a reputation as a quick healer.
And sources close to the former Southampton star believe he could easily be fit before England’s next game against Spain on February 11.
November 30, 2008 at 10:11
In 3 years cesc WILL go. Why? Because the man blocking his place at barcelona, xavi, is now 28 and therefore will be 31 in 3 years time. Then and only then is he ripe for replacement by cesc at barcelona – and cesc and his manager know that, as much as they knew and saw that cesc would never get his chance at barcelona as early as at arsenal. This is what i call perfect career planning. Wenger knows all of that and therefore ramsey is being groomed as cesc’s sucessor for the next 3 years. And with cesc having a contract until 2014 wenger is sure to either get a good transfer fee from barcelona or that cesc will have to pay some good money should he decide to buy out the remainder of his contract.
November 30, 2008 at 10:16
i think ramsey will be a good replacement for cesc in 3 years time!!
November 30, 2008 at 10:17
Diaby is injured?? didnt know that.
Well then RVP and Ade upfront is the only choice we have.
But not playing seasoned wingers in their proper places is hurting the team.
Teams would easily know by now that Nasri comes inside almost everytime, and right wing is useless without theo. Ramsey was piss poor midweek there. At least vela has played a whole season on the flanks, and he can own bosingwa whenever he wants.
But Arsene as we all know would want to play song. I see no way in us winning or even drawing if song plays in mid.
November 30, 2008 at 10:18
Ramsey can easily fit beside cesc. and imho… cesc is irreplaceable, much like henry, pires and viera.
November 30, 2008 at 10:19
Gooner2 – Nail on the head.
I would bet a lot of money that the Cesc situation unfolds exactly as you have just described.
November 30, 2008 at 10:19
we need vela on the left wing.. that boswinga will rape nasri and clichy just like ashley young did to sagna an clichy!!!
November 30, 2008 at 10:20
i mean sagna and theo
November 30, 2008 at 10:23
Choy
I’m with you I would prefer Vela on the left but it will be Nasri as he has some defensive qualities where as Vela has none.
November 30, 2008 at 10:26
A word or 2 re Ashley Cole
1. If he had not played in the Champions League Final in Paris, Arsenal would have won. Ashley Cole cost us the Title,
2. If Arsenal had not fielded their juniors against Chelskis seniors in the Carling Cup, we would have won the Title,
3. If Chelski don’t win anything this year, it will be 3 years since they have won a Title, &
4. Gael Clichy is a superior player to Ashley Cole.
4.
November 30, 2008 at 10:26
Morning everyone, Vela wont get a start because he never does. Why start your on form striker when you have a fit Ade and RvP? Wenger knows!
November 30, 2008 at 10:26
Chelsea talk about trophies, but the same applies to them, did they win a trophy last season? Almost. But so did we, we almost won the title. So their trophy talk is of the Jose Mourinho days, and when Roman was winning trophies he still got bored and wanted some proper football, and sacked Mourinho. So Joe Cole can ask Abramovitch those questions, and what about their losses against Carling cup teams, is it because Chelsea played fancy football and didn’t win?
Will the game be very tactical? Yes, but both teams will play attacking and open football, both are designed to play like that, however if Chelsea score first, they’ll probably try to lock it up, if we score first we’ll go for the second goal.
November 30, 2008 at 10:26
but who will play on the right then london? please not denilson!!!
November 30, 2008 at 10:29
I hate chelsea
November 30, 2008 at 10:30
gg9, i completely agree with the first point but i dotnunderstand how he cost us the CC final.
November 30, 2008 at 10:31
London, thanks, it’s because I love Arsenal so much talking about them comes so easy, I’m the one no one asks how Arsenal are doing at a party!
As for Cole saying who’s won all the trophies for the last 4 years, who won them all the 4 years before that? and what did those cunts win before Gangster boy drifted into town with all his stolen money eh? Fuck all and no league title for 50 years, cunts.
November 30, 2008 at 10:38
I want wneger to play nasri alongside cesc. Meaning he plays rvp out wide, and probably…………………well hopefully he plays rambo out on the wing. We must ATTACK because we cannot defend. I will not accept him playing both denilson, and song in the same side. Everytime he has done that we have looked terrible.
November 30, 2008 at 10:38
The project of creating a 15 / 20 year production line only serves to make us an upmarket Crewe.
If you look at exceptional talent like Wilshire & Ramsey developing at the same time, can they really fit into the same playing side together with Cesc, or does that mean we’ll lose Cesc or one of the other two in the next couple of years. If they did all play together the side would still be too light & inexperienced & likewise even without cesc we’d still need the the experienced CM.
I think Coqelin looks a very intersting prospect but again he’s at least 12/18 months away & he’d have to come into a lightweight team if we carry on the currect policy.
Unless we add experience we’ll continue this cycle of what we’ve become in the last 3 years & win nothing.
Does this policy support ‘ we have to sell before we can buy’ theory ?
November 30, 2008 at 10:40
Choy
I am afraid so he is going to play Denilson on the right. Wenger practised in the week with Denilson playing left wing. I don’t agree with it.
November 30, 2008 at 10:41
Play to win and not entertain and the gunners will be on the way.If the gunnerws insist on passing and passing, it’s the end.
November 30, 2008 at 10:46
If Wenger sees Cesc as a 26year old, does that also mean that when Cesc reaches 30 (in Wengers mind) will he even still be here and if so, will AW only offer him a 1year conract?
November 30, 2008 at 10:47
Double it doesn’t because we sell 3 and buy one, and the one we buy is 21.
November 30, 2008 at 10:48
The arguement about whether there is or isn’t transfer funds available doen;t hide the fact of the ridiculous tactical choices Wenger goes for like Denilson on either wing or playing Song at all let alone at RB with Eboue in front like he did earlier.
November 30, 2008 at 10:49
Double, you are spot on my friend, spot on.
November 30, 2008 at 10:51
Geoff:
I suppose I was trying to make the same point.
November 30, 2008 at 10:52
I cant believe im saying this but i wold much rather have Eboue on the right that have Denilson on either wing. Denilson is not now and never will be able to play wide.Another thing that AW doesnt seem to realise.
November 30, 2008 at 10:54
The thing is, it is not personal Alex Song, I am sure you are a nice bloke, and it is not your fault that you are being picked,
But this is going to have to get personal soon. If this insistence to play a liability continues, I fear it is time for some banners to let Wenger know that we are not amused.
I can only think that this is stubborness due to the Exceptional Talent Visa. If this was a football version of the X-Factor, he would not have got passed the auditions. If this was his first season then you would maybe understand it, but he has been here years, and has shown no improvement on talent, potential or class. I honestly think his level is maybe Championship but definately not Premiership and definately not CL and Top 4 Premiership.
Wenger I will give yourself and the rest of the Scouts and Coaches ultimate respect for uncovering and nurturing the likes of Ramsey, Cesc, Wilshire, Afobe, Vela etc but you seriously have got it wrong with song.
Prediction today Chavski 2 Arsenal 3 (Ade 2, Song 1 (Well he is bound to now))
November 30, 2008 at 10:59
Most are of the opinion that we want Wenger to get it right & of course his past achievements, on & off the field are unquestionable, however this is now & that was then & we cannot carry on as a club as we have done the last 3 years.
I cannot see what it is going to achieve.
He just worries me as I wonder whether his best days may have past.
It has been pointed out a few times on different media/blogs that Wenger has been known in his past as Mr Nearly Man. I was reading the biography by the guy Rivoire, which was very good, but it does make you think that.
I also believe that on each ocassion we have won a title we have never then repeated it the following year when we really should have done.
November 30, 2008 at 11:01
The Chavs are a nothing club.
I posted some link from one of their blobs this week where they were bemoaning their own support & the fact what is the point of considering a new 60000 stadium when they couldnt seel out for today !
November 30, 2008 at 11:01
Geoff well said in this mornings post.i actually wonder if wenger thinks anymore before making quotes like the above.
In wengers 12 years how many have come through the youth system to the first team.
Disregarding Vela, who is an aged pro at nealy twenty,we have ramsey and Wilshere who look like making the grade, though i am a supporter of simpson, who at least looks like a striker and always has one thing on his mind to try and score. He was i mpressive against wigan and at least offers as much as nicci at he moment.of all the others they might get a living in the PL.
Ade is out of form, but his presence upfront will cause problems,if he remembers the offside rule.
Today i fondly remember the kanu hat trick when we were 2-0 down and i still don’t know how he scored the third.
I fear for us today and a draw would be a good result.how often lately we have gone ahead only to lose, but of course there is no drogba or senderos today.
If wenger wants a production ine of kids then i suggest he gets a job as c.o. with ford.
November 30, 2008 at 11:03
The point about these young players is they will deliver in three to five years. Can AW guarantee they will really blossom. I’m afarid he won’t be able to give a 100% guarantee. These players need time and they willl not be risked if Arsenal lurch from defeat to another. I’m not saying the gunners will lose to Chelsea but the blues are favourites.
On another note,Cole has said Chelsea play to win and not entertain. I am in in full agreement with this statement.Enuf has been said and written about this topic. All top managers play to win and not entertian and weave intricate patterens which confuse even their own players.
Incidentally the WBA manager has stuck to his guns regarding pretty soccer. He has refused to play to win.
Well I’m afraid when relegation rears its ugly head at the club doors will he forced to change tack. The same with Arsenal.
As we all know it’s hard to combine pretty soccer and win. Only AW believes it can be done. He has been proven wrong these few seasons . Maybe he will get it right this time.If he were to lose toniteneed I say anymore.
November 30, 2008 at 11:04
Song’s average but appears to be our most disciplined player in the CM position. I’ve had the Song debates several times on here and would not be having anymore, so this is my last word on Song. The problems in the team goes far beyond Song and quite frankly it starts to get tedious/boring/meaningless/retarded when all you see on the blog is Song this Song that…
However, seeing how well Yaya Toure played last night for Barca, I would like to see us try a player of a similar build in JD tried in that holding position in midfield.
I’m going for a draw today, a win wld be a massive bonus. Have a nice day grovers
November 30, 2008 at 11:08
retarded, that is a bit Strong Mandanda, I was ok with your post until that word came out.
The Post was about Song, so we are posting our views on him.
You are correct though the problems are beyond Song, he is merely the make-weight to fill the problem that was created by not replacing Flamini, Diarra and Gilberto.
November 30, 2008 at 11:09
Hello!
My team for today:
Fabianski
Clichy Gallas Djourou Sgana
Nasri Fabregas Toure Ramsey
Vela RVP
Subs: Almunia, Silvestre, Denilson, Song, Diaby, Adebayor, Bendtner.

Kelsey:
You mentioned the Kanu hat trick & that makes today a good omen as that was the last chav away game I missed being away on business until today when I have had to sell my tickets for a family function starting at 5pm..:(
Maybe we’re gonna do it !
November 30, 2008 at 11:12
I am actually in no doubt that if you asked Wenger at Gunpoint (As it is the only way he would not answer with Spin) why the three were not replaced then he would be honest and say that he thought that Denilson and Song would step up to the plate just like Flamini did, and now it is just a case of persistence in the vain hope that one of them might become a World-Class Midfielder…..Which we all know is not going to happen.
I just hope that despite the public spin, that he realises that he did get it wrong. i guess we will all know by Jan the 31st
November 30, 2008 at 11:15
FGS put Djourou as Cm, he can’t be any worse than Song or Denilson.
November 30, 2008 at 11:22
stu
he didn’t, if we had played our senior team we would have won.
Alright just going for a few zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz’s see you just before kick off.
November 30, 2008 at 11:23
pat,
good morning.i have had this discussion before about certain players stepping up,and you mention denilson and song yet you could include nicci and theo as well.At the end of last season there was only 10 weeks until we started with preseason tournaments.players don’t step up in such a short time.i am also pretty sure that if we had a more experienced and larger squad, theo would still be held back as physically he needs beefing up and ,he is not a regular in the starting 11,if you get my point.Players dont peak at 19 or 20 and many nnever make it.We have been forced to play players who should still be understudies.
November 30, 2008 at 11:26
gg9, i stil dont get what that has to do with Cashley tho.
November 30, 2008 at 11:33
Morning Kelsey
I agree with that, If I am being honest, I did expect more from Theo and Nic.
I think Theo will make it but I dont think Nic will. I can see him ending up in a position similar to Sidwell and Bentley, good players but not quite top four quality.
November 30, 2008 at 11:37
geoff…
your Song phobia is spoiling the pleasure of reading an otherwise excellent blog…you’ve said it once, you’ve said it a thousand times, we know how you feel, you don’t pick the team, move on.
there are those of us who may feel exactly the same about him – or other players…in my case it’s Denilson… I think he’s the epitomy of mediocrity…he can’t shoot, he can’t tackle, he passes sideways, he flinches on 50/50 balls, he falls over on minimal contact- etc etc etc…blah blah blah…I could go on and on about him, his presence appalls me…but say it and then desist.
I love the blog, cheers.

Hey I don’t wanna hear it either. Song is an obvious problem, so obvious that every Arsenal fan can see it, and that’s why he’s getting stick. When such an obvious problem is sorted out, then we’ll hear the end of it. I agree that there are more issues than just Song in the team, but I don’t think those who currently hold a critical opinion of Song would disagree. Lets hear the end of it and sort the problem out.
November 30, 2008 at 11:48
Morning Grovers..
Geoff what are your views on that Alex Song bloke??
November 30, 2008 at 11:52
what the hell are you drivelling about? No 30 year olds and some 25 year olds? We already have those. Wow! You are a footballing genius. PS I hate your guts.
November 30, 2008 at 11:53

On Song? very much not I’m afraid chaps……putting it in to Queen’s English……………………..he’s fuckin shite mate! Cmon the Arse, do the Chavs but with Song and Denilson…no way
November 30, 2008 at 11:59
Morning Grovers
It’s strangely quiet on here today. A cold, wet windy day would seem to favour the more physical team (not us!). I’m hopeful of a win, but a draw would not be a bad result. My optimistic hunch is that Ade will have a blinder and run their defence ragged and their recent mediocre form will contine. 2:1 to the Arsenal.
November 30, 2008 at 12:00
Kelsey..
November 30, 2008 at 12:06
Avenall I’d like to know how he by-passed the reserves.
November 30, 2008 at 12:06
We should buy Marlon King. Im being totally serial!
November 30, 2008 at 12:09
Some gooners are going by the form book Rasptin and getting ready to be turned over by Chelsea. But it’s a derby, the form book isn’t accurate when it comes to derbies, that’s what’s in our favour and these sorts of weather conditions are very good for us.
Current Nearest Observations:
cloudy 3°C
N (8 mph)
Relative Humidity (%): 93,
Pressure (mB): 993, Falling,
Visibility: Moderate
Low wind, low pressure, light rain = we can run loads, put the workrate in and not overheat, light rain makes the ball faster, our game is suited to today’s weather.
November 30, 2008 at 12:10
interesting read this morning, good stuff, i wonder is it juts goal keepers
for streaming the match today go here,
http://www.veetle.com/viewChannel.php?cid=48cb03bd8ab18 download teh veetlke program and you will have fox soccer channel i like it but make sure you get eth software now and not at 4oclock
November 30, 2008 at 12:15
Theo by-passed the reserves…. and Ramseys doing it now too..
When we send a player out on loan, it’s normally the beginning of the end, not many have made it back.. Song has..
up until January has got to be his last chance and he hasn’t stepped up so, Wenger will buy a player for his position and he will go back to 4th choice or be sold!!
All those who wanted Roy Keane as manager… Have you read todays headlines??
November 30, 2008 at 12:17
Finest – I love your attention to detail, you should be appointed official stato for the site!
OK so you’re saying the weather favours us. We don’t quite have the riches in players with ‘ball control’ we used to, but I hope you are right. From an analytical point of view, there are many other parameters to consider – home advantage, recent form, match fitness etc etc – it’s a good thing games aren’t decided by mathematicians otherwise we wouldn’t win any at the moment!
November 30, 2008 at 12:17
Chris
Thanks for the link to Veetle, I had heard about it but never tried it.
Is the Quality always that good?
November 30, 2008 at 12:18
Finest…. When is high tide on the Thames? For when the ball boys have to retrieve the ball from one of RVP’s free kicks..

November 30, 2008 at 12:24
so what is the biggest joke of the day,
Roy Keane who is a cunt,
Joe Cole saying he would not like to play for us
or woodgate claiming they will finish in the top 6
November 30, 2008 at 12:25
i think we stopped running a long time back!! nowadays we just stroll about the park!!!
November 30, 2008 at 12:28
Yes Avenall but Theo and Rambo are fantastic footballers, Song can’t even pass the ball to one of his own players.
Theo scored a hat trick for England and Ramsey scored two blinders for the Wales under 21’s against England, Song’s not in the same class.
If you believe he is pray enlighten me.
November 30, 2008 at 12:31
any link for todays game?????
November 30, 2008 at 12:33
Hiya grovers let us kick some Russian ass!
November 30, 2008 at 12:35
and people who think that Xavi is a hindrance in cesc’s transfer that is completely wrong…. Barca are not waiting for three years they are constantly trying….Marc Ingla admitted that they asked about cesc during the summer when they were negotiating for hleb but arsenal said they want to build team around him…..so no chance of transfer right now….although it can happen after three years but not due to xavi….
November 30, 2008 at 12:36

November 30, 2008 at 12:46
Hello chris – hope you’re well. I’m half way between the feeling of the ManU game and the Citeh game – sneakily thinking we could win it or expecting to fall flat.
November 30, 2008 at 12:49

November 30, 2008 at 13:09
Yes Chris, I did see the Dirk test run of 2 Merc’s but it was on the Fiver digital channel also.
I liked his comment after being told about test-driving second hand cars “I’m a big fan of second hand things – second hand career and second hand women”.
It’s the way he tells ‘em.
And at the end he says “Can I take my toupee off now ?”
November 30, 2008 at 13:11
chris i ve downloaded it and installed it i have made an account at veetle as well…. but now what???? what to do next??????

It seems the whole world know our current predicament. This from a Chelsea blog:
“Arsenal have very evident problems with (a) dealing with the aerial balls (b) handling the crosses in the box (c) defending set pieces (d) allowing on-target long shots as there are no/quality defensive midfielders (e) letting in on-target long shots thanks to Almunia (f) handling the opposition’s through the middle attacks (g) holding the ball in the midfield with cricketers like Song, Diaby, Denilson and Eboue. You heard it all here. If any team exploits all these weaknesses, they’re gonna score against Arsenal or even beat them. Chelsea has the specific qualities to take advantage of all these weaknesses.”
I think we need to go out there and spank them to keep them wondering what has hit em.

who is the ref this afternoon?
November 30, 2008 at 13:46
avenell,
You reel out all the stats for players etc. Do you mind telling us which site you visit for these stats?
November 30, 2008 at 13:50
Confident,
why do you always have these quotes from Chelsea Blogs?
November 30, 2008 at 13:51
know thy enemy stu!
November 30, 2008 at 13:53
But the chelsea bloggers are hardly our enemies. The club are but the fans aren’t really, but whatever.
November 30, 2008 at 13:55
Confident..
Why? Are the stats wrong? Let me know which ones are and I will check them If I get time..
November 30, 2008 at 13:59
I would play this team.
However I know Arsene wont.
………………….Almunia……………………..
Sagna…….Gallas………Djourou/Sylvest…….Clichy
……………..Cesc…………..Song/Denilson………..
Van Persie………….Nasri…………………..Vela…….
……………………Adebayor……………………………
The front four are free to attack. Cesc is free to join then when he wishes and pick them out from deep. Song/Denilson stay back and cover for Cesc when he goes a lil forward.
Vela prevents Bosingwa from attacking too much. Nasri would be much stronger down the centre, Van Persie cuts in to shoot, allowing Sagna to com up and cross sometimes. And if Ade actually stays in the box like last season he could score.
This is the best team based on who is available I think. Remember Kolo, Diaby and some others are out.
November 30, 2008 at 14:01
it doesnt look like man city are gonna do us any favours, they cant string 3 passes together
November 30, 2008 at 14:03
all this talk from cole & their site really set this game up nicely.
no less than a win is what i expect from the gooners today.
think about it, a win today will send shockwaves to the other teams that we are baaaack in business!
November 30, 2008 at 14:14
Rooneys just scored..
November 30, 2008 at 14:14

Song to score today in a 2-1 win for the Arse.

November 30, 2008 at 14:34
Stu,
I do that as a reality check. You know the famous saying. ‘don’t get high on your own supply”. Some of the views are no different from what we know already. its not that I support Chelsea but you gotta respect some blog opinions.
Avenell,
The stats for Huntellaar, v Nisteroy were quite good.
November 30, 2008 at 14:34
Hopefully we will have some new signings to show off. Might be just a bit too early tho.
November 30, 2008 at 14:36
maybe eddie can play a part against plymouth?
November 30, 2008 at 14:37
Confident… I got those off Wiki mate….. I know thet are not always right but they are the easiest.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki
November 30, 2008 at 14:40
The wiki stats comparing the Dutch records of Huntelaar vs Van Nistelrooy made for some interesting readings, didnt it. Ruud only hit his top form at PSV. We should definately take a chance on Klaas-Jan.
November 30, 2008 at 14:41
bergkamp
well.. I did
and im not just talking about this incident…he is really poor in the air aswell
November 30, 2008 at 14:56

November 30, 2008 at 14:56
My point about the Wiki thing was.. When anyone says about Huntelaar, they say he only plays in the dutch league. But Eduardo only played in the Croaian league and that’s got to be worse than the Dutch one..
Yet Huntelaar has a far better scoring rate than Dudu in a more difficult league.
Huntelaar in the Champions league, the stats are good too 18 goals in 28 games!!
November 30, 2008 at 14:58
avenall,
Oh wikki! Well, sometimes you get the howler, but all in all very ok, Any news on our selection against the Russians?
November 30, 2008 at 14:58
And he has a pretty good record for Holland too. Not sure what it is tho.
November 30, 2008 at 14:59
Ronaldo is OFF!!!!
November 30, 2008 at 14:59
Hahahahahaha ronnie gets sent off!!! LOVELY!!!
November 30, 2008 at 15:00
avenall,
Yeah right, how about Hunt v Nistery? Stats are a part of the picture, not the full picture
November 30, 2008 at 15:00
Red card for Cristiano Ronaldo!!!!!
I hope city can take advantage
November 30, 2008 at 15:01
10 goals in 18 games..
November 30, 2008 at 15:02
Huntelaar is a proven goalscorer and he would add much needed class to the team that is hugely lacking.
November 30, 2008 at 15:03
Greaseball sent off at (Middle)East-lands.
November 30, 2008 at 15:04
Stats are all we can go on though… We cannot watch every game!!
November 30, 2008 at 15:08
Actually Ajax were playing this morning but i forgot to watch. I think Huntelaar is injured tho because he hasnt played for a few games.
November 30, 2008 at 15:12
Hey there people, how are we all today,
avenall hows it hanging my main man???
Not long now, im excited like a kid a xmas.
November 30, 2008 at 15:12
The Dutch league is not that good
Afonso Alves did something like 34 goals in 32 games
Huntelaars stats in the national team (10/18) is impressive but i rather have Villa
That would keep cesc happier also
November 30, 2008 at 15:12
Almunia sana JD Gallas Clichy Denilson Song Cesc Nasri Ade RvP. I think thats right. Well at least JD is playing
November 30, 2008 at 15:13
song is playing ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
November 30, 2008 at 15:15
what are the odds of a win for us today, and song man of the match???
November 30, 2008 at 15:16
i reckon song is gonna prove us all wrong today and have a blinder, then the boss wont bother signing anyone
November 30, 2008 at 15:16
jd for silvest ade up front with robin sagna back nasri back, ramsey and jack on the bench
November 30, 2008 at 15:19
we loose to much creativity when both song and denilson plays
we are going to struggle today
November 30, 2008 at 15:19
JonJon… Getting nervous now..
Any luck with your avatar.. Theres a load of wordpress you tube clips if you can find one to help!!!
November 30, 2008 at 15:21
Why does he inssist on playing both Denilson and Song. It should be one or the other.
The only way both should play is if Song plays centre back.
And Vela should play left wing today and kep bosingwa busy.
Oh well lets see what happens.
November 30, 2008 at 15:24
Fuck me what a save from Rooney..
November 30, 2008 at 15:25
Anyone see Joe Harts’s save?
November 30, 2008 at 15:26
Stu
How certain are you of that team?
November 30, 2008 at 15:26
No luck mate, i’ll work it out soon though, what do i do just look for wordpress on you tube.
Ive got good vibes about today, chelsea havent been the dominant force they normally are at home this season and theyve had some dodgy performances recently, its a good time to play them
November 30, 2008 at 15:26
No..
November 30, 2008 at 15:26
Now we don’t have much quality, our team is now made of a bunch of average players who Arsene intends to hold on to because they are french or speak French.Namely:
1. Diaby-average and always injured
2. Eboue-average and lazy, don’t chase the ball if loses them
3. Denilson-average and not a defensive midfielder
4. Song-average and not of Arsenal quality
5. Almunia-an average player who can’t be a reserve GK in Spain’s national team and yet plays for the Arsenal.
The above players are not first XI quality yet, Arsene plays them all the time, why?
Instead of Arsene recruiting better players he keeps on recruitment average players who are doing more harm than good for the team.
November 30, 2008 at 15:26
Rooney is so shit to not have scored that
November 30, 2008 at 15:28
London, it flashed across on sky sports. Im about 99% sure that thats it.

Wenger tries to make a triangle of Denilson and Song with Fabregas Just in front.
November 30, 2008 at 15:30
I can only imagine that he has chosen Djourou over Sylvestre to combat Anelka’s pace. Not a bad decision. I’m bored of the manc fest.
November 30, 2008 at 15:30
Ronaldo handballed it.. you tossers stop defending the twunt!!!!
November 30, 2008 at 15:32

November 30, 2008 at 15:32
MU TV makes me sick
November 30, 2008 at 15:32
I dont think he is going for a triangle because Denilson looks like hes being put wide. Unless AW is playing 4-5-1 with RvP and Nasri wide. Its a weird situation because when he plays wide for us he is absolutely useless but for Holland wide he is amazing. Go figure!
November 30, 2008 at 15:34
Yeah, I think your probably right there Stu
November 30, 2008 at 15:37

do we have any links to watch the game?
November 30, 2008 at 15:43
Is it Wrong of me to wish Song gets a Serious injury? not today but in general so Wenger is forced to play somone else
November 30, 2008 at 15:45
These Sky pundits are so pro Chelsea. An ex Chelsea player and Frank Lampards cousin. Shock!!!
I hope we smash them and lets see what they say then.
November 30, 2008 at 15:47
No it isnt wrong raif,
i wake up every morning hoping song has damaged the tendons in his knees and is out for 24mnths,
alas, every morning he dissapoints me,
November 30, 2008 at 15:51
we need acouple of early goals within the first half hour or else chelseas could grow on us as the game wears on and force the knockout punch in the second half.
have a feeling rvp is going to have a blinder, he is due one of those games
November 30, 2008 at 15:55
just seen the team line up and guess what???
SONG is Starting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHy oh WHY
November 30, 2008 at 15:57
Song, for fucks sake.
November 30, 2008 at 15:57
Why does AW hate us so much??>>
November 30, 2008 at 15:58

November 30, 2008 at 15:58
8-0 to Chelsea now
Song 7 own goals
November 30, 2008 at 15:59
C’mon Alex Bilong!!!!
November 30, 2008 at 15:59
Anyone know of a stream showing the game
November 30, 2008 at 16:00
Also Denilson is RM. We’re going to have no pepentration that side. Hopefully we’re still in it on 70 mins when Wenger makes his subs and brings on Vela
November 30, 2008 at 16:01
anyone got a link
?
November 30, 2008 at 16:03
Denilson and Song, fuccking hell Wenger, what are you looking at.
November 30, 2008 at 16:04
Denilson already gone AWOL from the right
November 30, 2008 at 16:06
Denilson appears to be right mid but instead of that maybe he should have gone 4-5-1. Thats the system that suits the players the most. Nasri left, RvP right (like he is for Holand) and Cesc as the no.10.
November 30, 2008 at 16:06
sing it boys
November 30, 2008 at 16:08
CLichy seriously needs to buy a copy of clearancing for dummies.
November 30, 2008 at 16:09
Great team selection Wenger Denilson on the right? Song playing? WTF anyway great post Geoff Wenger talk’s a lot of shit he was quoted yesterday saying that he said he was gonna sign a player but he didn’t no Hleb was gonna leave ‘’Hleb was gonna leave’’ wasn’t he under contract? I personally don’t rate Hleb as much as others do but he along with Rosicky and Fabregas made our back 4 last season look so good because they would retain the ball so much that they would tire out the opposition it is a effective tactic if your 1 nil up and that’s another reason why Wenger should have signed a few. We all know Walcott cant keep the ball (though he is out of position) neither can Nasri (though it is his first season) so we’re more likely 2 lose the ball and with no ball winner the defense gets tested far more often and it has not got nothing 2 do with protection name me 1 game last season where we played shockingly bad and won…..exactly that’s what steel is it’s the ability 2 dig deep and grind out results that’s what makes U a top team and we simply don’t have
On another note hopefully we can win this game and all the others so we can quickly get 2 January and if this deluded, stubborn and arrogant Frenchman decides 2 continue his flawed and short-sighted experiment and not sign any1 he has got 2 go.
November 30, 2008 at 16:09
Va persie is a twat, just fucking boot it!
November 30, 2008 at 16:10
My god we look shakey need to settle down
November 30, 2008 at 16:10

November 30, 2008 at 16:11
Link anyone?
November 30, 2008 at 16:12
Song has an AMAZING lack of pace!!!!!
November 30, 2008 at 16:12
did you guys see Kalou run past Song as if he wasnt there. lol
That was funny.
November 30, 2008 at 16:13
atleast the spuds are down 0-1
November 30, 2008 at 16:14
we look like an under 21 team playing a team of seasoned pros…. oh wait!!
November 30, 2008 at 16:14
Isnt it annoying how fucking greedy van persie is with the ball. Why cant he ever pass!
November 30, 2008 at 16:15
Anelka’s got some pink on his boots..
November 30, 2008 at 16:15

November 30, 2008 at 16:17
Stu
RvP is a cunt. glory seeking all the time
ahhh a Tap in was all tht was needed
November 30, 2008 at 16:17
Yeah song is 2 slow coupled with clumsiness is a recipe for disaster really. aint it funny how Arsenal are performing now?
November 30, 2008 at 16:18
is anyone else suprised that JD is playing over Silvest?
November 30, 2008 at 16:18
Hahahaha
November 30, 2008 at 16:19
Why is Song playing so high?
He needs to stay back because he is soooooooooo slow.
November 30, 2008 at 16:19
Im not suprised that JD is playing but I always thought he was a right sided defender and Gallas was left but the are set up Gallas – JD.
November 30, 2008 at 16:19
raif, Wenger said it was purely on JD’s speed on Silvestre’s
November 30, 2008 at 16:19
Sagna looks error prone today
November 30, 2008 at 16:20
haha – Shit club no history!
November 30, 2008 at 16:21
Sagna is suffering from second season sindrome(spelling?).
November 30, 2008 at 16:21
weve settled down but we need to score 1st
November 30, 2008 at 16:21
My fucking dreambox has gone down
November 30, 2008 at 16:23
sagna dont have hleb to help him anymore
November 30, 2008 at 16:24
Ivanovic looks good doesnt he.
November 30, 2008 at 16:24
why are we given them so much room, especially in midfield??!!
November 30, 2008 at 16:24
On sopcast what channel is it?
November 30, 2008 at 16:25
Sagna didnt have Hleb last season either. We played with Hleb in the hole for most of last season because Van Persie was out. Eboue was Sagnas partner on the right.
November 30, 2008 at 16:26
we give everyteam we play room in midfield, because we dont have a quality DM
November 30, 2008 at 16:27
I hate this ref
November 30, 2008 at 16:28
Yeah we do, we have Song.
November 30, 2008 at 16:29
has this ref got a chelsea shirt on?
November 30, 2008 at 16:30
Denilson dilly dallying on the ball in the most stupid of areas. FUCK!!!!
November 30, 2008 at 16:30
Deco or Ballack.. Great
November 30, 2008 at 16:30
Andy Gray too
November 30, 2008 at 16:30
Woopdee fucking doo
November 30, 2008 at 16:32
We are being out hassled and out muscled.
Once our players come under pressure, they wilt and give the ball away.
November 30, 2008 at 16:32
Well played Almunia. Well fucking played!
November 30, 2008 at 16:32
what the fuck was that roll for?
November 30, 2008 at 16:32
Well done!!!
November 30, 2008 at 16:32
fuck sake, why did almunia throw it out so quick????
we fucked now, we needed the first goal
November 30, 2008 at 16:32
shit.
November 30, 2008 at 16:33
That was all down to Almunia what a diabolical throw, cunt.
November 30, 2008 at 16:33
We’re so fucking naive its rediculous
November 30, 2008 at 16:34
Almunia U twat U 3rd choice cunt!!!!!!! you’ve just proved once again your not good enough U dickhead.
November 30, 2008 at 16:34
Our players cant play once you close down space on them. Chelsea are hunting in packs.
Surrounding our players that have the ball.
But yeah that was Almunia’s fault for sure.
November 30, 2008 at 16:34
Almunia is a cunt
November 30, 2008 at 16:34
almunias fucking had enough games now, mad jens was dropped after two mistakes, how many does manny have to make???
November 30, 2008 at 16:34
Ok Can some one answer me this?
A) What the fuck was Alcalamitymunia thinking with that crap throw?
B) Whats the point of having a defensive mid that is more foward than our Playmaker?
C) Why start Song?
D) wheres the fucking heart in this team apart from Cesc & Ade?
Finally…… Why Start SONG???????
Anybody please Enlighten me?
November 30, 2008 at 16:35
What a tackle
November 30, 2008 at 16:35
fucking almunia
November 30, 2008 at 16:35
This why every team is upping their game against us.
Because thwy know once they harass, close down space double and triple team our players…they wilt and give the ball away
November 30, 2008 at 16:36
We are going to get fuck all today. I dont know why im even bothering to watch this shit. Fabianski is a must from now on. And Wenger definately needs to spend big in the window. As of about 5minutes ago we are effectively out of the race.
Im off to have my dinner!
November 30, 2008 at 16:36
100% almunia’s fault and nasri is out of his depth as is denilson, not over yet.
November 30, 2008 at 16:36
Diving little prick
November 30, 2008 at 16:36
Big game GK my arse, why do we persist with a GK that isnt even first choice for his country.
Hes crap and so is denilson and song
November 30, 2008 at 16:37
Pi** poor keeping, we are under pressure so just hold on to it for a few seconds, let everyone regain their composure then play it out, dont play it straight to the bloody opposition as fast as possible
November 30, 2008 at 16:38
JonJon,
in all fairness to Almunia, he is from Spain and they have class keepers. Casillas, Reina, Palop, even Valdez is far better tan him.
November 30, 2008 at 16:38
he’ll be injured again now, just like against man utd, big game bottler,
November 30, 2008 at 16:39
So why play him then, why do we persist with a GK whos second rate in his homeland???
November 30, 2008 at 16:39
Fuck almunia. CL final set his fate. He sucked and things havn’t changed.
theo is a huge miss
November 30, 2008 at 16:41
It’s not the first time he has thrown the ball out so quickly he did it last season in this very ground when Sagna was off for treatment he should have held the ball then and we conceded.
Lehmann was right about him.
November 30, 2008 at 16:42
This ref is an idiottttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 30, 2008 at 16:43
Haha, Denilson just summed himself up: “BULL SHIT”
November 30, 2008 at 16:43
This might sound crazy, but I think Eboue would be really useful on the right-hand side today.
November 30, 2008 at 16:44
Joe, you mean BALL SHIT don’t you!
November 30, 2008 at 16:45
Wenger should bring on Vela at half time and take off that attacking midfielder Song.
November 30, 2008 at 16:45
7 league goals without a reply….
I miss Eboue in these big games. Our right-hand sideis usually impenetrable with him and Sagna. And they link well.
November 30, 2008 at 16:46
This just shows that defeNDing is a TEAM EFFORT.
WE HAVE GOOD INDIVIDUAL DEFENDERS.
JOHAN IS ONE OF THEM BUT BECAUSE THE TEAM IS SHITTY, THE DEFENSE IS UNDER TOO MUCH PRESSURE.
WE NEED TO ATTACK AS A TEAM AND DEFEND AS A TEAM..LIKE MAN UNITED, CHELSEA ETC.
IT DOESNT MATTER HOW GOOD YOUR DEFENDERS ARE IF THEY ARE UNDER SUSTAINED PRESSURE THEY WILL MAKE MISTAKES.
November 30, 2008 at 16:46
“Ominously for Arsenal, Chelsea haven’t conceded a second half goal in the league this season. Strong stat that.”
Shit
November 30, 2008 at 16:47
AKB are U watching this?
November 30, 2008 at 16:48
Did anyone else just see that? Gallas, Sagna and Almunia: “You take it”, “No you take it”
November 30, 2008 at 16:48
Channel – 6003
November 30, 2008 at 16:49
Our players are too weak…except for Ade.
Song is also strong, but he is slow and deosnt seem as fit as the others.
November 30, 2008 at 16:50
thinking gthe same thing Ja. Denislon especially
November 30, 2008 at 16:50
Our players get pushed off the ball so easily its unbelievable.
November 30, 2008 at 16:51
wenger wont make any changes at halftime, he’ll wait until the 88th minute.
November 30, 2008 at 16:51
Ja read 4:09
November 30, 2008 at 16:52
So, another locker room bust up coming up?
Almunia is such shit and I don’t we’ll ever win a PL game with Song and Denilson BOTH playing.
November 30, 2008 at 16:52
Return of the Jedi on ITV. MIght go with that!
November 30, 2008 at 16:52
Our players cant play once you close down space on them. Chelsea are hunting in packs.
Surrounding our players that have the ball.
November 30, 2008 at 16:52
Wengers Half time team talk better be good
November 30, 2008 at 16:53
Well maybe the Pink Boots will come on and save the day
November 30, 2008 at 16:53
This so fucking frustrating!!!
We are Too Weak, To Slow, And have Zero Heart!!
RVP – Get Off your Arse. He hits the ground quicker that a Thai Hooker!!!
Song – STOP ATTACKING!!!! Your Putting Cesc Outa tHe Game!!!
Almunia – You Will Never Play For Any Country Let Alone England!!!
My God Im Anooyed At This PAthectic Showing!!!
November 30, 2008 at 16:54
stu
It was to do with coles comments about how arsenal won’t win anything the way they play total football, as per article choy posted, anyway
Arsenal have got to throw everything @ this mob in the 2nd half. Get song off bring on ramsay, vela & run @ the defence IMO
November 30, 2008 at 16:54
here we go again….
Vela for song, denilson to the middle, nasri out right, Vela out let
COME ON ARSENAL
November 30, 2008 at 16:54
Ja it’s not even that the player’s on the wing i.e Denilson is playing out of position he lacks skill and pace therefore it’s difficult 2 hold onto the ball Hleb and Rosicky were also lightweight but they were able 2 hold onto the ball for those reason I mentioned.
November 30, 2008 at 16:54
big ask now, against a team who has only conceded 4 all season.rvp is disapointing treying to many hollywood moves, our left side with clichy and nasri looks very vunerable,we are losing most 50=50 balls, just not playing as a team.if chelsea get a quick second i dread to think what the final score will be,to me its men playing against boys.
November 30, 2008 at 16:54
bring on Luke (Sky)Wiltshire. The force is strong with this one…
November 30, 2008 at 16:55
We’re simply not good enough, they’re far to experienced and strong for use. It doesn’t help when the bloody goalie gifts them a goal though.
November 30, 2008 at 16:56
wengers team talk will be
errrrr
i believe in you
errrrr
your not shit
errrrrr
lets go out there and pass pass pass and be patient
errrrrrr
you are the best team ive had
errrrrrr
dont worry, you’ll all get new double your wage contracts at the end of the season and none of you will be dropped.
November 30, 2008 at 16:56
I feel for JD20
but I think it was a shitting throw out by the waiter that initilised the problem. Anyone?
November 30, 2008 at 16:56
This is not the Team i have grown to love
November 30, 2008 at 16:57
Is anyone out there depressed about this?????????
……………..
Who will he bring on?
November 30, 2008 at 16:57
that park bench is looking good eh geoff
?
November 30, 2008 at 16:57
Gael Clichy shit as usual.
Chelsea havent even got out of second gear.
November 30, 2008 at 16:57
We’re far to brittle in midfield, it’s men against boys. Doesn’t help when your goaile gifts them goal though.
November 30, 2008 at 16:57
Can someone please tell me what the fuck Song is doing he’s not flamini he can’t do box-2-box no Stamina, Pace, strong tackling, covering and composure and yet he thinks he’s maradonna.
November 30, 2008 at 16:57
This is shit…..Denilson and Song have no place in this team if we are going to turn this and our season around. We are too lazy as a side….
Any decent keeper would have held on to the ball instead of throwing it straight out. Hold it, we are under pressure get them up the other end…unbelievable!
Will Wenger change it, like f… he will. I am struggling to see how things will get better while he persists with this….
rant over….come on you reds….
November 30, 2008 at 16:57
Lets see this so called spirit and character that Wenger keeps banging on about.
November 30, 2008 at 16:58
So, lets be the first team this season to score against Chelsea in the 2nd half!
November 30, 2008 at 16:58
What’s wrong with Nasri? He plays like a feckin cripple unless he’s in the final third. No tenacity at all in his play.
November 30, 2008 at 16:58
it was nasri not closing down bosingwa on the cross for me !
November 30, 2008 at 16:58
Yeah GnarleyGeaorge!!
Almunia put that all on himself!!!!
Why tho does Mad Jens get dropped after 2 fuck ups, Yet Alcrapia fucks up all the fucking cunting time, yet still a starter, YET we have an INTERNATIONAL on the bench????
November 30, 2008 at 16:58
Marqitlarge
Luke whitshire plays for Australia
November 30, 2008 at 16:58
Jon Jon so true so true.
November 30, 2008 at 16:59
*whiltshire
November 30, 2008 at 16:59
Lets throw vela on and just go for it.
If we can keep it at 1-0 you never know, we could nick a draw.
November 30, 2008 at 16:59
Well it is hard to pick out any positives out of that,
What the Fuck has happened to us, where is the battle and creativity.
I just cant see where a goal is going to come from.
Wenger this is all your fault you fucking PRICK.
People keep saying give him time, but nigh on everyone of us said this was a weak squad going into the season, but he cant see it. He is turning into a dilussional old fool who is sadly performing the same trick as Brian Clough.
The Performances just aren’t good enough and I actually dont even enjoy watching the games at the moment, so why people keep going on about us being great to watch is beyond me, In how many games this season have we been good to watch?
Tell you what though SONG is not the worst player on the pitch today, we have another 10 of them. Nasri anonymous again, Denilson IS NOT A FUCKING WINGER WENGER YOU STUPID CUNT. ALMUNIA SHOULD NEVER START AGAIN. RVP AND ADE ARE NOT WORLD CLASS,
Sagna is my only bright light in the starting 11.
November 30, 2008 at 16:59
Nasri looks like he’s doing an ice skating routine for their goal, back and forth….
November 30, 2008 at 17:00
I think I just got moderated. Maybe one too many swear words.
Here is another, God we are SHIT
November 30, 2008 at 17:00
Metal, I’m sure Wenger tells him his role and Song does as he’s told. I really wouldn’t doubt that.
November 30, 2008 at 17:00
Oh what the fuck I missed the 1st 15 minutes. Is the Jack Russell on the bench. Bring on Jacky Boy
November 30, 2008 at 17:01
I hear Podolski is up for grabs in JAN!!! lets sign the cunt!!!
Also lets sign Moutinho so we can send SONG where he belongs to the fucking Feeder teams!
November 30, 2008 at 17:02
I thought this team would have worked well.
…………………..Almunia…………………………..
Sagna……..Djourou………Gallas………Clichy….
…………….Song/Denilson…..Cesc……………
Van Persie………..Nasri……………..Vela…….
………………….Ade………………………….
On the left wing Nasri keeps having to turn back cuz he cant get to the touchline.
Look what happened when he came more central against Manu, he scored 2 goals.
If we had the left footed speedy Vela out there…….then he could get past Bosingwa. Van persie can cut in facing the goal and shoot from the right.
November 30, 2008 at 17:02
Ethan, bring on Wilshere and Vela, take off Denilson and Song, those two are so bad I want to cry.
I’d say take Almunia off, but we may need to put Bendtner on as well.
November 30, 2008 at 17:02
I think we will win 1-2 I f we can get the 1st, Chelski will shit’em selves Ha Ha!!
But 1st get song & denilson off
November 30, 2008 at 17:02
When you look at that, I think we actually need to buy 2 central midfielders, and at least one Striker,
Oh and a Goal Keeper. Almunia is a fucking liability
November 30, 2008 at 17:02
Nasri looked alot quicker on you tube than he does in the flesh.
November 30, 2008 at 17:02
Its Nasri’s first Season do U know how difficult it must be 2 adapt 2 this league? I don’t know but it sounds like a tough league 2 me and have U noticed Nasri has not been directly responsible 4 any of our goals and defeats we’ve conceded.
November 30, 2008 at 17:02
why must they make us suffer like this.
FUCK FUCK FUCK. SONG IS SHIT. DINILSON IS SHIT. we wont win anything with players like Song playing. and Keepers like ALMUINA playing in goal.
November 30, 2008 at 17:02
My #1 target in Jan. is M’Bia, from Rennes. He’s a beast, an engine.
November 30, 2008 at 17:02
Geoff
Great Minds
November 30, 2008 at 17:03
if we lose this look at the tables, about 5 clubs behind us by one or two points
November 30, 2008 at 17:03
We really need to start voicing our opinion about starting Denilson and Song every week.
I know it is not their fault but they would not get a game for West Brom, so why do they get one for Arsenal?
November 30, 2008 at 17:03
and what the fuck has ade done ?
at least RVP has the bottle too take a shot !
November 30, 2008 at 17:03
Geoff are u serious???
Bendtner?? WHat would he do? his 3meter radius 1st touch would be gifting Ballack/Deco & Fat FRank the ball!!
Not dissing u or anything but Bendtner isnt cut out for this type of game mate.
November 30, 2008 at 17:04
GG9 – Haha, Just having some light relief with return of the jedi! Little Jack reminds me of a young luke skywalker.
Its got to be better than Jamie – my cousin is soooooo good – Redknapp
November 30, 2008 at 17:04
He should put Ramsey and Wilshere on now!! But I bet the first sub will be “Brightons no 1″
At least the Spuds lost!!!
November 30, 2008 at 17:04
At least the spuds lost
November 30, 2008 at 17:05
At least the spuds lost.
Here we go………………….
November 30, 2008 at 17:05
I cant imagine how AW is going to motiate the players at HT with a teamtalk because after 11years giving team talks he cant have any new ideas. Maybe he should just start hiting some people.
November 30, 2008 at 17:05
Ade has held up play well enough but our players aren’t supporting him quickly enough. At least he doesn’t get muscled off.
November 30, 2008 at 17:05
Great minds paul…..
November 30, 2008 at 17:05
Adebayor Adebayor give him the ball
and watch him pass off !
November 30, 2008 at 17:05
YAWN…….. yey the second half!
November 30, 2008 at 17:05
Thank god for that, if the Spuds caught up another 3 points on us, I would start to get worried about them catching us.
Roll On Jan 1st or more likely the 31st when Wenger actually signs a competent footballer
November 30, 2008 at 17:06
I can’t think of who we have on the bench that would have a shot, save Wilshere and Vela and I already said put them on.
November 30, 2008 at 17:06
Y r u goin on n on abt Kolo., he’s injured… we r playin like shit hope the game changes in the second half!
November 30, 2008 at 17:06
Rob Bendtner may not be ready but lets say we get back in the game with 3 minutes 2 go and we got a set-piece wouldn’t U feel there’s more of a chance 2 score with Bendtner in the box?
November 30, 2008 at 17:06
Bendtner for RvP
Vela for Denilson and Ramsey for Song
November 30, 2008 at 17:06
Wenger will never change till the 70 th minute…what an ass
November 30, 2008 at 17:06
Could be worse fancy being a Leeds fan
November 30, 2008 at 17:06
so who thinks our players was arguing this time????
November 30, 2008 at 17:07
Ramsey maybe?? He’ll get stuck in, thats for sure
November 30, 2008 at 17:07
No changes lol.
Arsene is crazy.
Its obvious thgat the team we have is not working.
November 30, 2008 at 17:08
nice move. Ade offside. Shock
November 30, 2008 at 17:09
WHAT!!! Adebayor was offside. What has happened to the world!
November 30, 2008 at 17:09
Nasri aint a winger, he’s more dangerous in the centre
i wish wenger would stop fucking about with the players, hes ruining there natural games
November 30, 2008 at 17:10
Who’s in the box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 30, 2008 at 17:10
Ja,
That would work too, I have not been watching but I saw the last 10 mins. Looks like a game we may conceed more on the break than as a result of Chelsea play.
I think he should consider bringing in Vela, Ramsey and later Jack. There is not much else to do. We have a terrible coach and a terrible board.
November 30, 2008 at 17:10
The best pass that Song has made all day went to a chelsea player.
November 30, 2008 at 17:11
Jon jon I agree he’s not a winger he seems more comfortable in the centre
November 30, 2008 at 17:11
Gallas is the closest thing we have to a fox in the box, he seems to be the only one in there when we hve the ball
November 30, 2008 at 17:11
Adebayoooooooooooooor, Adebayooooooooooooooooooooooor
Give him the ball, his touch is poooooooor!
November 30, 2008 at 17:12
Metal Gear
NO ONE as fucking always. ADE goes to the wings all the bloody time. and RvP drops far to deep as always. so were left with fuck all in the box.
November 30, 2008 at 17:12
Wenger doesnt buy wingers tho.He buys playmaker types that play wide : Freddie, Pires, Hleb, Rosicky and now Nasri.
November 30, 2008 at 17:12
Songs going to be chelseas man of the match
November 30, 2008 at 17:13
If you were wathing this, and you didnt support Arsenal and didn’t know anything about whos where in the league, you’d say Arsenal were mid table at best.
November 30, 2008 at 17:14
he should buy wingers cos these lot cant do it, hes fooling himself if he can find another pires ofr freddie, they were one offs
November 30, 2008 at 17:15
Please Arsene, if we are not going to win the midfield battle (they are stronger by far) then do it a Football Manager mate, bring on your skillfull attacking players and tell them to take the game to Chelsea, push up the pitch and lets see how they deal with Wiltshire and Vela running at them
November 30, 2008 at 17:15
Take off Denilson and Song now!!!!!! Wenger our title hope’s depend on it.
November 30, 2008 at 17:16
Dirty cunt ivnaovic tripping Ade.
November 30, 2008 at 17:16
IF we had Drogba, that’d be a shot on goal, at least. Poor touch by Ade.
Ade doesn’t look 100% fit
November 30, 2008 at 17:16
Metal Gear
Title Hopes left us long time ago mate
November 30, 2008 at 17:17
Why’s Wenger so frustrated? Their his players. He knows how good they are(n’t). Where’s the shock that this team is getting out played, out hustled, outmuscled and worse, out passed by this chelsea team of experience pros?
November 30, 2008 at 17:17
Make a Sub FFS
November 30, 2008 at 17:18
Now were resorting to long ball im disgusted
November 30, 2008 at 17:18

November 30, 2008 at 17:18
Cesc has been anonymous
November 30, 2008 at 17:18
Riaf I know I know but….yeah I know.
November 30, 2008 at 17:18
With players like Denilson and song getting starts we are definately heading for midtable. If we continue playing like this for the reat of the season we will be lucky to finish in the top half, let alone the uefa cup places.
November 30, 2008 at 17:19
Only pinky is warming up
November 30, 2008 at 17:20
GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
November 30, 2008 at 17:20
Arsene is crazy, how can he expect Nasri in his first year to play on the left like Pires?
Nasri needs to play in the hole. There he could do what he did at Marseille.
I have not seen Nasri take ppl on like he did in France.
Other than adjusting the league….I feel its because he is not 100% comfortable on the left side.
Again I say
Almunia…………………………..
Sagna……..Djourou………Gallas………Clichy….
…………….Song/Denilson…..Cesc……………
Van Persie………..Nasri……………..Vela…….
………………….Ade………………………….

No fucking around now lads. Just get it away whenever necessary. There is always the chance that someone will try to be cute and end up fucking it up. Probably Denilson or Song or Clichy again.
November 30, 2008 at 17:27

God, please don’t strike me down but well play Song
November 30, 2008 at 17:34
sub gommmit arsene
November 30, 2008 at 17:35
Fabregas definately plays with his heart. He loves this club and his goal celebrations can testify to that.
November 30, 2008 at 17:35
metal gear if I had to compare clichy to fabregas for heart …id pick clichy
November 30, 2008 at 17:35
This ref…..
November 30, 2008 at 17:36
Raif

November 30, 2008 at 17:39
WHAT IS SONG DOING IN THERE EXCEPT STANDING…cant even head the bloody ball
November 30, 2008 at 17:39
Cesc has a huge heart, but I think CLichy has an even bigger one. I’m just basing this on work rate and attitude as seen on the pitch.
November 30, 2008 at 17:40
THIS REF IS A WANKER
November 30, 2008 at 17:40
Subs subs subs
November 30, 2008 at 17:40

November 30, 2008 at 17:40
50-50 tackle and Chelsea get the fk
November 30, 2008 at 17:41
Yes you did, read your own comment yourself.
“Clichy the only gunner who plays with his heart ..not even Fabregas does that!!”

November 30, 2008 at 17:44
Oh no What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bendtner?
November 30, 2008 at 17:44
Sneaky from Scholari, or do they not have any other strikers? Our defenders probably don’t know a thing about Stoch. Come on Arsenal
November 30, 2008 at 17:45
Stu we could get overrun with these fresh legs
November 30, 2008 at 17:45
Gear, Ade has done his running. He’s not 100% yet. We need someone who could hold the ball up(somewhat), so Nik is a good choice.
November 30, 2008 at 17:45
ade must not be 100% fit as to y his comming off
November 30, 2008 at 17:46
Stu, my thoughts exactly fella
November 30, 2008 at 17:46
Why hasnt ivanovic been sent off yet!
November 30, 2008 at 17:47
We were after Ivanovic at the same time as Chelsea. He’s a really good defender and part of the reason the Serbian national team has been doing really well in qualifying. Him and VIdic are great together.
November 30, 2008 at 17:47
metal i wont take it back ever …so deal with it…haha
November 30, 2008 at 17:47
any more sweaty palms out there?
November 30, 2008 at 17:48
Gallas is doing more capaining now then when he was actually captain.
November 30, 2008 at 17:49
I hope Arsene realises that we have not turned any corner.
We will always have a chance to beat the top teams…because they play open attacking football.
He still needs to solve the problem of the rest of the teams that will put 10 men behind the ball.
November 30, 2008 at 17:49
I have sweaty everywhere Maqitlarge!
November 30, 2008 at 17:50

November 30, 2008 at 18:00
We beat Chelsea 2-1. Fact. Who would have taken that before the match? Good derby, and we won it!
November 30, 2008 at 18:01
Robin, at last, but Denilson and Song, well Song, fuck he may as well be playing for them.
November 30, 2008 at 18:01

November 30, 2008 at 18:02
Metal Gear
if they havea poor touch. then its the touch of a rapist, havent u heard that term before. i hear it every time in the football parks and so on?
November 30, 2008 at 18:03
Maq,
What does that mean?
November 30, 2008 at 18:03
I agree I’m not a VP fan until I see some consistency and a top class performance from him I’m afraid Eduardo will eventually easily replace him. But credit where credit is due.
November 30, 2008 at 18:03
Song played better than denilson but hes still shit.
November 30, 2008 at 18:03
Swedish – I guess it was the tooth fairy screening everything in front of the back 4 in the last 20 mins then!
He still shit but you have to come out and say if someone played well, and I thought Song did.
We still need better though. Hopefully its Barry in Jan.
http://www.footballfancast.com/blog/aston-villa/can-we-afford-turn-down-a-%C2%A310m-bid-a-liverpool-or-arsenal/7052
November 30, 2008 at 18:04
a great performance from captain fabregas.. and clichy is a monster!!!
November 30, 2008 at 18:04
Stu – we didn’t deserve to win. But once we got in front we deserved to keep our lead, if that makes sense!
November 30, 2008 at 18:05
Thank F for that…. great 3 points, but he has to lose Song….a class signing in that position in January and the likes of Theo and Eddie still to come back and it starts to look good.
Hope he sticks with JD now.
Lets hope we don’t now repeat the performances after the man u game. Feet on the floor, earn the right to play and play!
November 30, 2008 at 18:05
Song had a good fucking game, he’s not suddenly Essien but ihe’s been a lot better in the last couple of games, I can’t believe we’re still moaning, how fucking depressing is that.
I swear we outsung them almost the whole game aswell..
November 30, 2008 at 18:05

but of course ill need to be careful as i could easy offend someone on here.
i mostly say it with my mates. lol.
another one i like to use witch im sure most will already know is HOSPITAL BALL.
poor pass leads to losing position or allowing the other player to come in with a 50/50 challange lol..
November 30, 2008 at 18:09
yesyesyesssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!
November 30, 2008 at 18:09
To be honest, people saying we shouldn’t have won, Chelsea only had one shot on target.. THE WHOLE GAME
November 30, 2008 at 18:10
Now I dont like Jamie Redknapp !! Tosser
November 30, 2008 at 18:10
Bendtner did some good work too when he came on. hassling, winning a free etc.
time to give some coutos to those who deserve them
November 30, 2008 at 18:10
If it wasnt for almunia we could have won 2-0. Or probably it would have been 1-0, thats more likely.
November 30, 2008 at 18:10
Anyone saying VP is shit is a fucking rather mistaken. He’s world class when fit and on form. So is Cesc. Maybe Cliche too. Those 3 are the boys. VP is amazing. Right and left foot.
November 30, 2008 at 18:11
I’ve always hated redknapp.
November 30, 2008 at 18:11
Guys if we had two more players we could win everywhere, that’s why we moan, now Wenger will play Song and Denilson for ever and we’ll never buy anyone, being a real fan is being able to see the problems and not ignoring them.
November 30, 2008 at 18:11
Hi Keyser – yeah you’re right there but they were much better than us for 60 mins. For some reason they didn’t have enough after we snatched the lead. Not complaining though. We’re one or two signings from being being better than them
Great result though. Just what we needed.
November 30, 2008 at 18:11
i remember when Chelsea was looking to buy KINKY BOOTS for about 12 mill.
and yeah he did well for the amount of time he was on.
WELL DONE ARSENAL. YOU HAVE MOADE US PROUD. . now go out there and fucking beat all them little clubs we seem to fuck up against..
November 30, 2008 at 18:11
Anyone think Anelka wanted us to win ??
November 30, 2008 at 18:12
raif ..your a funny man….we all know van persie is a fukin class act.
November 30, 2008 at 18:12
rico01 – Didn’t you see him after the Tottenham game ? He was inciting the crowd aswell.
November 30, 2008 at 18:12
Our first goal is so far offside its brilliant
November 30, 2008 at 18:13
We had a great 2nd half.
Two clinical goals, tackled and defended well and we were really up for the fight after the first goal.
I’ll think we deserved it, they only had one chance and that was an own goal.
John terry is a fouling cunt.
November 30, 2008 at 18:13
John ‘Thomas’ terry – should have been RED carded, two footed tackle, could have broken Bac’s leg, Cheating Bastard !!
November 30, 2008 at 18:13
anelka is a gooner at heart!!
November 30, 2008 at 18:14
woooohoooooo
how fantastic was that
be back soon xxxx
November 30, 2008 at 18:15
Great against everybody from now on!
Change?? ANyone?
WE are 2 for 2 now that Fabs the captain…i say we get 100% record after this!
November 30, 2008 at 18:15
2nd half we did well and I put that down to getting stuck in and winning tackles, letting us attack them when they’re not organised with 2 banks of 4
November 30, 2008 at 18:15
Hi Rico
How sexy was Van Persie tday?????????????
November 30, 2008 at 18:15
You’re right Rico, dirty filthy bastard.
I’m handing over to a happy Pedro!
November 30, 2008 at 18:15
JD20 was great
November 30, 2008 at 18:15
That russian? should have been sent off. J fuckin T should have also gone for that two footed tackle on sagna as well.
November 30, 2008 at 18:16
We were lucky to get the offside decision but the Chavs were lucky not to have their 2 CBs sent off. That was a lunge by Terry and Ivanovic should have gotten at least 3 yellows.
November 30, 2008 at 18:16
keyser, i dint, what a git, and he has written us off still, what a wanker
But yes Geoff, we still need at least two players, but he must know that, one win doesnt make everything right, it justs gives us a reason to smile until the CC game
November 30, 2008 at 18:17
Stu – Terry was a straight red
November 30, 2008 at 18:17
anelka….joe cole….peter cech……………………….shhhhhhhhhhhh.
November 30, 2008 at 18:17
Yeah, we’re short still. We’ve had a crap month though so i’m gonna just enjoy it.
November 30, 2008 at 18:18
peaches – 20 out of ten
November 30, 2008 at 18:18
I wonder what the odds are for us to lose the next game. Thats the kind of form we are in. Who is next?
November 30, 2008 at 18:18
sorry…but I cant say Song had a decent game cos he was so slow and his positioning was awful…he is mostly in no mans land
but today I dont care cos we won yeeehaaaa!
November 30, 2008 at 18:19
Yoooo hoooo
what a performance lads it’s not just in it’s the togetherness in the squad and fight they showed in their game which excites me……
now has Robin proved his doubters wronge???? please get off his back now….
November 30, 2008 at 18:19
stu.. next is wigan at the emirates!!!
November 30, 2008 at 18:19
WHAT?? Wenger says he didnt see that offside. I wonder if he is lying!?
November 30, 2008 at 18:20
kingsley.. Add Ballack to that list!!
November 30, 2008 at 18:20
sometimes its like that Terry fuck couldnt buy the red cards he deserves. What the fuck does he have to do to get sent off? he gets praise for being whole hearted and shit, and no criticism when he tries to hurt people.
November 30, 2008 at 18:21
Wigan up next… a must win, like every game over teh next 2 months!
November 30, 2008 at 18:21
YESSSS YESSSS YESSS!!!!
November 30, 2008 at 18:21
Who cares whether we deserved 2 win or not it doesn’t matter we won 3 points now lets win our remaining games and lets not repeat what happened after the Man U game.
November 30, 2008 at 18:21
ah yeah ballack!…..shhhhhh
November 30, 2008 at 18:21
song played better than denilson, but hes still shit, they both are
November 30, 2008 at 18:21
Song hatred aside but he actually had a decent game….
he was making real effort….
November 30, 2008 at 18:21
Is it just me or are Jamie Redknapps pants always way too short? And being gray too they show too many shaped for my liking.
November 30, 2008 at 18:22
It would be more satisfying if mourinho was still in charge. Scolari is winging all the same. He’s forgetting that they should have had two sent off and their only shot on goal was from our player.
November 30, 2008 at 18:23
We should stick with the CCeam against Wigan. We know they can do it and the first team might fuck up.
November 30, 2008 at 18:23
i mean whinging
November 30, 2008 at 18:23
we were lucky today but when was the last time we got a decision from the ref?? its about time
what goes around comes around, last year we were one nil up at the bridge and drogba scord an offside goal and we lost.
karma
November 30, 2008 at 18:24
Scholari!!
lost the plot..
November 30, 2008 at 18:24
southcoastGooner
he is a Class act. when he wants be. not when his trying to be a ego tart. as he comes far to deep for the ball aswell. witch leaves our Box Empty as ADE has pissed off to the wings.
when he takes his chances his axcellent but it dont happen enough in my book. far as we know he wont do anything for the next 4 games
November 30, 2008 at 18:24
I try not to look at his pants stu.
November 30, 2008 at 18:25
VP has 2 show consistency before I give him that sort of respect I’m sorry people are telling people like me 2 get off his back get off his dick he’ll get praise with consistency not 1 game.
November 30, 2008 at 18:25
lol… stu.. carling cup game on tuesday!!!!
November 30, 2008 at 18:26
FA Cup – just seen we have been drawn at home against Plymouth – Nice
November 30, 2008 at 18:27
rico0
Plymouth
have we really?? what a result. i think the kids can play that game
November 30, 2008 at 18:28
Where was Ade LW he really needs a good lecture no striker plays on the wing more than there actual position unless there playing in a 4-3-3. Hopefully he’ll realize he is much more effective when central.
November 30, 2008 at 18:28
lol
November 30, 2008 at 18:29
lol my calender is way off so. Who are we playing in the CC? and when are we playing Wigan? Sat or Sun?
November 30, 2008 at 18:29
Evening sports fans!
Great result… iffy performance… but 3 points will do very nicely!
I thought we’d win!
I can’t believe that with all that talent, Chavski struggled to create! Amazing!
November 30, 2008 at 18:29
This is pretty refreshing, despite the last comment!
http://www.chelsea.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=511647
November 30, 2008 at 18:29
What a brilliant result.
Edge of the seat stuff for the last 35 mins, but we looked in control.
I agree with some of the above Le Grovers…. credit where credits due. Song had a decent game, as did Denilson, whose energy level was immense today. The guy was everywhere.
But the real credit must go to our back 4 who were just fantastic.
November 30, 2008 at 18:30
stu burnley.. CC.. wigan PL on sat!!!
November 30, 2008 at 18:30
Metal,
Ade keeps going to the wings because he thinks he is actually Henrys replacement. Thats why he thinks he can actually play good football and deserves to get the same wages as TH14.
November 30, 2008 at 18:30
i am so proud… i am going to make my chav mate cry
song was poor but its all down to wenger, so ppl please get off song.
denilson is good player overall but has to build up some body mass
I really dont know how anyone can doubt cesc’s commitment… he is the golden boy, he makes our team luck.
He is FAB I love Fab, I love Clichy, rest have a lot to do still…. but i am beginning to like Nik, I think he is getting serious for football.
I think in the last 15 minutes we played like chelsea, choking down, delays in throw ins, fucking loved it.
November 30, 2008 at 18:31
We’re playing Burnley on Tuesday, so the kids will have to play, I’m glad Wilshere and Vela didn’t get on because it’s only a day turn around.
Burnley beat Derby 3-0 on Saturday, it’ll be a tough game for the kids.
November 30, 2008 at 18:32
Both goals were brilliant by the way.. what finishing!!!
November 30, 2008 at 18:32
Ade copies Henry alot when he drifts out wing….unfortunately no one told him he doesnt have the skill of Henry.
Quit callin people shit guys….we won!
November 30, 2008 at 18:32
Today was the first time in a while that AW got his tactics spot on.
We never allowed their midfield to get their passing game going, and I can only think of a couple of times that Lamps got in front of the main striker.
November 30, 2008 at 18:33
Thanks Choy.
Maq, the last comment there doesnt count because it is poor grammer.
November 30, 2008 at 18:33
Chelsea were unlucky… they had a lot of injuries and poor Drogba was banned..
That’s what Redknapp and Gullet say so it must be true..
Coming up against a full Arsenal side with no injuries. That cost a 1/4 of a billion pounds less…
November 30, 2008 at 18:34
And we obviously learned from the Spurs match about closing out a game.
November 30, 2008 at 18:35
and spurs lost
November 30, 2008 at 18:35
Avenell. Did they really say that ?
November 30, 2008 at 18:36
chelsea have been dodgy for the last few games, since they got beat by burnley, i knew we’d win today, but we still had a few dodgy performers, ade denilson almunia, the rest did a good job, even song.
November 30, 2008 at 18:36
Raif
the only bad point to van persie is his injury record….his goals to games record is pretty impressive. what more can you ask but for your striker to have a very good strike rate, he just neeeds to keep fit.
November 30, 2008 at 18:37
I made the last bit up Raddy, but pretty much so especially the Drogba bit..
November 30, 2008 at 18:37
Raddy – I agree, I think the team all played a lot better, Song was very clever at the end aswell, after the tackle he stayed down just long enough not to be questioned, he did make some pretty good tackles aswell. Denilson was better also, and the back four were immense, apart from the dodgy throw out which lead to their goal, they all looked assured and solid. maybe I was wrong to suggest Willy should go, maybe he is now free to play his game, rather than worry about be the skippy,
November 30, 2008 at 18:37
I thought denilson had a really good 2nd half, he was everywhere.
November 30, 2008 at 18:38
Stu I know but it shows he lacks that intelligence 2 understand he could be more of a threat then Henry if he stayed central as he offers aerial threat and physical presence the only striker’s who can drift out wide 2 pick up the ball every now and then are skillful strikers and Ade is not a David Villa, Eto, Torres or Henry 2 be able 2 pull that off consistently.
November 30, 2008 at 18:38
Avenell, we didnt have a full team because Denilson was playing wing. Eduardo, Rosicky and Theo (to an extent) all provide different options and are vital to our play.
November 30, 2008 at 18:38
Avenall, i just said the same to my mate, andy greys a tosser, blaming it on the injuries that 500mil 22 worldclass players chelsea have got.
has he seen our injury list recently?????
cunt
November 30, 2008 at 18:40
Scolari thought thefirst goal was miles offside and wants the referee sorted. but the tackle by Terry was a fair one…
November 30, 2008 at 18:40
It was nice to see gallas smiling at the end too. I’ve felt a bit sorry for him as of late. The press were having a pop at him this morning on sunday supplement for not playing at right back at the end of last season. How do they even know if wenger asked him to play there?
November 30, 2008 at 18:40
1. We were a bit lucky
2. RVP has that capability to turn any game on its head.
3. Fabregas is Mr Arsenal and makes our luck.
4. Song needs to be just a backup CB, Denilson needs to build up
5. We are 2 signings away from a really competent squad.
If Arsene reads this…. Thanks a lot Arsene but please keep song away from the team.
November 30, 2008 at 18:40
I was very impressed with the Back 4 today, how great were they!! Djourou was unlucky for the OG, but he had a good game.
Song still wasn’t good, but he was better than usual, thank god. Denilson was annoying me but got lucky for once. Fabregas only gave the ball away very few times, which I was happy with, he was good today, and Nasri, although he drifted out of the game, tried to work hard (although he didn’t for the OG).
RVP got the goals he needed, Adebayor played a big part in both of them, so congrats to both of them, who still did a job on what was not their best day.
Almunia gladly didnt have anything to do, as he was at fault for the OG.
Well played back 4!!!
November 30, 2008 at 18:41
STU
November 30, 2008 at 18:41
Boys ……
I must have seen a different game to you !!
Ade was always available as an outlet in the second half, and caused them no end of problems. We had a focus to our attack agian. Plus , it was his knockdown for RvP 2nd.
ALmunia ….. what did he do wrong? Apart from a poor throw-out. Which should have been better defended.
& Denilson ? Watch it again, and say that Denilson was crap. The man was really hungry today against what must be one of the strongest midfields in world football.
Surely, we can cut the team some slack, we are only the 2nd team to win there in 4 years !!
November 30, 2008 at 18:42
I agree big raddy.
November 30, 2008 at 18:43
chelsea had never conceded in the second half this season.. well guess what…!!!
November 30, 2008 at 18:43
Redknapp is a bigger cunt than he was 2 hours ago
Our first goal was offside(so what) wenger didn’t see it
Gene hackman didn’t see the terry two footed tackle, which was a red card offence
okay, today showed how unpredictable the game is.give ade some credit he made our first goal, rvp when on fire is our best striker, the back 4 were immense.denilson only looks good when in attack,he makes sensible runs.what surprised me was how chelsea capitulated after our second.they were poor and we got the result which surely must now install confidence but we are a some way off yet.
Almunia really isn’t up to it,his distribution was awful throughout the match.
November 30, 2008 at 18:43
Raddy I’m not saying Denilson was shit, but he was worse than Song..
November 30, 2008 at 18:43
I really loved the shirts being thrown to our fans, what a smart move, the Russians obviously didnt want to swap shirts so some lucky fans got them….
Great gesture, Oh those sad old Russians…. Ra Ra
November 30, 2008 at 18:44
denilson was pretty good in a makeshift RW !!!
November 30, 2008 at 18:44
Djourou was superb by the way… and so was gallas… his gesture at the end was really good. Can we have Toure for Song pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
November 30, 2008 at 18:45
Metal….
Might it be that Ade is told to go to the wings ?
November 30, 2008 at 18:45
Adebayor played well, sometimes he doesn’t use his size that well but today he was out jumping, pulling, harrying and running his aSs off, he played well.
November 30, 2008 at 18:46
Interesting comment from a rather humble rvp that it was not him who had the spat with gallas, that leaves ade.
November 30, 2008 at 18:46
Well I have had a bit of faith in Football restored there. We have fell foul of refs decisions all season and the ball never seemed to bounce kindly for us but we got some luck back today.
I am still struggling to understand how we won that game. Not only have we beat Chelsea, but we were fucking shit and beat Chelsea!!!!!!
I am also going to give some praise where it is due to two players I dont particularly rate. Firstly RVP who took his goals very well, I just wish he had the consistency to do it week in week out. Secondly Song, who although shocking in the first half, had a great last 20 mins. I still dont think he is a decent or even average footballer but well done Song, great last 20 mins. And Nasri as well had a great last 20, That lad can defend. Infact I thought the back four looked pretty solid tonight.
I just hope Wenger does not read too much into this. It was still a pretty poor performance and until an offside goal we did not even look like scoring, the fluidity of the passing is still not there, we still lose the ball too easily and we are still fielding players who would struggle to get in the West Brom team………
But I am going to revel in it tonight……Dont care how you did it but you did it. Oh and Scolari’s Interview was hilarious. Apparently the refs were all only Reffing one of the Teams!!!
Come On Arsenal, no slump now like after the Man Ure game, December is busy and we need to keep that 4th spot until we can strengthen and then see how far we are behind to see if the fresh blood can make any difference.
90 min Positives
Djourou (Despite the OG) Gallas, Sagna, Clichy, Cesc,
Negatives
There are some but given the result I dont feel like mentioning them.
November 30, 2008 at 18:46
Rico there’s a Arsenal shirt on ebay at the moment and it’s been bid up to £3500.00,
and the Arsenal players are giving them away..
Have the outlaws gone?
November 30, 2008 at 18:47
pinky boots did pretty ok too!!!
November 30, 2008 at 18:48
I was watching Song, he is a total disgrace, the entire first half, Song was “AHEAD” of Fabregas, if he does his duty of being a “defensive” midfielder and stays back, Fabregas and go ahead to create those killer passes, we need somebody who has hot blood running through them, I haven’t ever seen Song going in for a crunching tackle… I can’t believe Wenger… every year he unreasonably persists on an idiot and we lose so many games and the fire… last year it was Eboue. I understand he wanted a defensive cover in midfield, but cmmon he had flamini and the problem was not in central midfield, it was in the back, and the year before it was the shite Phil, and the worst part was we had Djorou all along…and we still have Silvestre, Toure and Rambo on the bench… i can’t seem to understand his persistence with Song, he is killing Fabregas’s game…. I wish he can see light…
November 30, 2008 at 18:49
What impressed me was DJ’s response after he scored the own goal which really wasn’t his fault also very impressed with that back 4 but knowing Wenger he’ll probably change it.
November 30, 2008 at 18:49
Re Ade, as long as he is on the pitch, defenders havent got a clue what he is going to do nest (mind you nor does Ade
) But he is the only striker we have that can get up so high and control the ball, and hold it. His lay off today was top drawer, and considering he has been injured, i dont think he did too bad. He will sonn find the net and he and Robin will be back on fire
November 30, 2008 at 18:49
We are at least 4 players away from a great team. We might do fine for a while but with players like Song and Denilson starting we wont go very far.
We need a new keeper, defender, DM and clinical striker ie Akinfeev, Chiellini, Cana(?), and either Villa or Huntelaar.
November 30, 2008 at 18:49
Kelsey I heard that.. but I forgot about the bust up bit…. duh..
November 30, 2008 at 18:50
i bet all chavs are having a hard time as of now, wonder what geoff pedro are upto.
November 30, 2008 at 18:51
hi ave – yes, but it is the poppy shirt, so its quite special – i have one of the old highbury gopping purple shirts, all nice in its box, wonder how much that would fetch??
I thought it was a real smart move by all the players, and those lucky fans
November 30, 2008 at 18:52
Kelsey – he said there isn’t a problem, it’s been hyped up out of all proportion, we don’t know how things went on and the media smelt blood with the Arsenal in crisis stories and made a meal of it.
November 30, 2008 at 18:52
Big Raddy I doubt it he had his best goal-scoring form last season when staying central when it mattered.
November 30, 2008 at 18:53
Van Persie’s finish was perfect, he must’ve transplanted a left foot for his right one.
November 30, 2008 at 18:53
Great win!!! Great to see Robin scoring two goals, he is my favourite, current Arsenal player. Well done boys! Now, lets trash Burnley and Wigan and buy a quality CDM and CD in january. I also admit that I was wrong. I thought we will lose, but what a fantastic second half he have played.
November 30, 2008 at 18:53
you guys going on about Song spoil the fun…
you are wrong, he ain’t going anywhere, he’s in the starting 11 to stay…get used to it…
Denilson, now, there’s a different story – he’s gone, just a question of when…
Ade was bad today, hope it was rust…
November 30, 2008 at 18:56
Rico.. redcurrant, remember how touchy they were about the colour.
If you got the RVP one, that got thrown in the crowd you could have the first short sleeved, long sleeved origonal..
November 30, 2008 at 18:56
Blazon, I’m delighted, but I have to say if we had two better players than Denilson and Song we’d be at the top.
That’s not being a spoiler, that’s a fact, we won though and I have bragging rights for at least a fortnight.
November 30, 2008 at 18:56
Stu, You seem to not trust Fabianski. Trust me, he is as good as Akinfeejev, and I really rate Akinfeejev. Juve will never sell Chielini, so Zapata or Albiol, Cana of course and Arshavin for me.
November 30, 2008 at 18:59
Maciek
do you not think the gallas/jd combination is what we have been missing?
November 30, 2008 at 19:00
Wish we could play Manyoo and Chavski every week.
CMON YOU GUNNERS.
November 30, 2008 at 19:01
ave – no such luck, i got mine from afc.com, but in years to come i will be glad
November 30, 2008 at 19:01
southcoastGooner
he needs a alot more then just a good Goals record in my book mate.
November 30, 2008 at 19:02
JD and Gallas …………………..
At last Mr Wenger, at last
November 30, 2008 at 19:02
The signings we need 2 try and make are
DC (Defensive coach)
GK Frey or Buffon
CB Chellini or Lucio or both
DM Sergio Ramos or ???
CF Benzema (highly unlikely though)
Because I not fooled by this result some of these individuals in the team are either not good enough or not ready.
November 30, 2008 at 19:03
I do trust Fabianski but Wenger obviously doesnt and I would rather have Akinfeev to actually challenge Almunia than have Fabianski just sitting on the bench.
Ashavin isnt my cup of tea. He is good in flashes like he showed in the Euros but he also showed that he lacks the stamina.
Incidently Villa has scored for Valencia against Betis.
November 30, 2008 at 19:03
Scholari must have spent last night reading, “Arsene’s guide to substitutions”
Deco off, wtf coming on. The 4th official must have pissed himself
November 30, 2008 at 19:06
Metal Gear
they are fantasy signings the only one that looks realistic is the (Defensive coach).
maybe even Frey
othere then that they are ALL unlikely
November 30, 2008 at 19:06
Geoff, in response to your post…… perhaps Wenger has some 10 year olds that he regards as part of the team that he will blood at Burnley on Tuesday.
November 30, 2008 at 19:07
I’m off to celebrate, have a great evening Grovers, bask in the glory! The chavs had one shot on target, that was the goal oh, and we scored it! Cunts!
November 30, 2008 at 19:07
tru
November 30, 2008 at 19:08

“Arsene’s guide to substitutions”
hahahahaha i like that one.
November 30, 2008 at 19:09
Metal,
We couldnt afford Buffon or Benzema. Ramos isnt a DM, is the worst tackler known to man, and looks like a female PE teacher you would find in America. Frey is useless and Lucio is Brazilian.
November 30, 2008 at 19:09
Geoff – you make sure you over indulge
November 30, 2008 at 19:10
hilarious thread… should be preserved for future generations!
November 30, 2008 at 19:11
guys at last! i have some problems with comments but now seems ok. it was great evning. wonder oy is real wonder boy:D
November 30, 2008 at 19:13
Raif well I did say ‘’try and sign’’ at least try your dammest and remember we don’t know how good this negotiator is so lets wait and see the only one’s that I think could be extremely difficult are Chellini, Buffon and Benzema the rest could be a real possibility.
November 30, 2008 at 19:15
I’m off fine Grovers, catch you all tomorrow, I am going to open a botlle of fizzy…. water
Night all, Stay safe
November 30, 2008 at 19:17
The good thing is that song’s valuation will go up if we sell him this week
Oh did anyone else think scholari was going to walk out midway though his interview on sky.
November 30, 2008 at 19:19
Scolari was about to cry, his broken English makes it worse because it seems like he’s soo upset he can’t talk.
Reading back through the comments at half time it’s quite funny..
November 30, 2008 at 19:20
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, it is your worst nightmare “A smug Song fan” The humple pie has just come out of the oven and is piping hot; which one of you will be first? Come on Geoff you know you want some. Raif maybe? Perhaps I can tempt JonJon. LLLLLOOOOOoooooooooolllllllllllll. Yeeeeeeesssssssss You rip roaring, goal scoring, glory grabbing gunneeeeeeeeers. Oh yes and while I am at it what do you think of that half time team talk?
November 30, 2008 at 19:20
He looked a bit edgy Kelsey…
Then sky defended him saying he was stressed coz English wasn’t his first language or something..
Did you see the offside Arsene??
Night Rico…
November 30, 2008 at 19:21
We should buy Juan Mata, Hildebrand, Vicente, Jaoquin, Albiol, Marchena, Edu and Villa. Any complaints?
November 30, 2008 at 19:22
Goeff, Song is the closest we have to Flamini.. l@@K ^
November 30, 2008 at 19:22
denilson had a bad game?even if you don’t rate the player you shold give credit were credit’s due. H e was one of the main reasons why we turned it around,he started to play wider in the second half and that gave us an extra option going forward and he defended very well .And yes,we DID deserve the victory! They didn’t create a chance after our goals, mainly because we did’nt fall back to defend, but met them high up on the field.Chelsea started the long ball, but our backfour defended brillantly on those too.I think this could be a turning point, mainly because be 1 down to chelsea after the whole world has told you that you are shit and then turn it around shows a lot of heart. And i agree we need to beef up in the middle, but denilson has a bright future in this team
November 30, 2008 at 19:22
G ?????
we have A,
but what happend to B, C, D, E, F, ???
But Seriously G…. Song is shit and doesn’t come ANYWHERE next to Flamini.
reads the game well?? ill be suprised if he can Read a book mate if im honest with you.
November 30, 2008 at 19:24
i think we should make G’s comment Le-Chump of the week.
November 30, 2008 at 19:24
Every Arsenal player had a blinding second half? We are allowed to praise our own team as well you know
November 30, 2008 at 19:24
Sorry Geoff, I was so shocked I got my “E’s” and “O’s” the wrong way around!!
November 30, 2008 at 19:26
Stu – They’ve just made our defending look good, great timing.
November 30, 2008 at 19:26
Raif… That should carry a Goverment Health Warning..
November 30, 2008 at 19:27
JOE COLE……. JOE COLE……..

November 30, 2008 at 19:27

A lot of the regulars are still in a state of shock; they will come around.
November 30, 2008 at 19:27
avenell
hahahahahah “Goverment Health Warning”
November 30, 2008 at 19:27
Sorry guys… sometimes they slip through the net!
I love how now we’ve won a game, Song balances our team! haha!
He was ok today, but lets not go over board.
November 30, 2008 at 19:28
Rat Hobbit Lol
November 30, 2008 at 19:28
avenell. you always manage to crack me up.
November 30, 2008 at 19:28
Song balances the team HHHHHHaaaaa HHHHHHHaaaaaaa
November 30, 2008 at 19:29
Kelsey, you watching this debacle too. What was Miguel thinking.
November 30, 2008 at 19:29
London
LOL hahaha.
i love saying that word to people. i thought id use it in Le-grove for everyone else to use haha
November 30, 2008 at 19:32
I cannot remember when I felt this good about football. We are kings of London again
November 30, 2008 at 19:33
Stu – Heh they just scored again though, but stop the ball on the goal line, kick it out of the goalies hands to an attacker in the six yard box and then take him out all in one go, giving away a penalty and getting sent off in the process
November 30, 2008 at 19:34
One comment and I’m off guys Chelsea played beautifully and lost hahaha.
November 30, 2008 at 19:34
In fairness… It does balance the side like, Yin and Yang… Fabregas’s good to Song’s … well Yang..
November 30, 2008 at 19:35
It is glorious!
I was sitting there thinking… fuck… another dismal match report to write!
I thought we’d win today… this reminds me of the season a couple of years back where we smashed all the top 4, but lost the league on the weaker teams.
If we can get through to Jan in good shape, maybe a couple of clever signings can push us on in the Champs league and the cups.
November 30, 2008 at 19:36
Raif.. That is second only to BBK’s ” Dot Cotton sloppy tit wank…… ”
November 30, 2008 at 19:37
Evening Pedro
I had an idea that you may or may not like and that is when you do your post giving the players marks out of 10 you may want to include Wenger. As we know sometimes his team selection seems woeful while other time he gets it right. Just a thought.
November 30, 2008 at 19:38
Villa 5.37. Kelsey, what do you think??
November 30, 2008 at 19:40
It sure is Glorious
November 30, 2008 at 19:40
Oops i mean keyser
November 30, 2008 at 19:42
FUCKING LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had a tenner on 2-1 Arsenal! £150 in the back burner! lovely jubbly!
I’ve been telling everyone all week that Arsenal will do the Chavs!
Everyone here on Le Grove, I love you all! Like Brothers and Sisters!!!!
I’m pumped up and beered up and I’m back on the piss again in 15 mins!
Lets wreck da joint!
WHO, WHO, WHO TO BE, WHO TO BE A………………………….?????????????????
November 30, 2008 at 19:42
stu,
me no understand you,i come from barcelona
what about faulty song
November 30, 2008 at 19:44
Wrighty
You have really confused me all this time I thought it was OOOOOhhhhh To Beeee
November 30, 2008 at 19:45
London… top idea. He didn’t really have the option of bringing on an Eboue or a Song! Which was good… Ade wasn’t doing too well, so he brought Nik on and didn’t change our shape.
I was impressed with the result more than the performance. This result doesn’t change my mind on the squad… I kind of go along with what Redknapp said… we’re too inconsistent to make a challenge this year.
I was impressed we went 4-4-2 and I was impressed with the back 4.
So… do we drop Almunia? He has become clanger prone again…
November 30, 2008 at 19:45
JonJon
Yes, DJ and Willy played well, but we still need another cd, because You can’t relay on Song and Senderos(if he will be back) and Kolo may be off to City, besides he isn’t the same player since ANCup. As for CDM- we both agree that we do need atl east one. Jon, just think, what could we do with 2 or very good players. Almunia, Song and Denilson, just aren’t good enough. And, how many errors must Almunia do to be dropped?
November 30, 2008 at 19:46
Fuck off Brother Wrighty…..
November 30, 2008 at 19:47
That is a special day Wrighty! Well played!
I also backed us to win… but not at the bookies I don’t gamble!
November 30, 2008 at 19:48
Have we got a DVD coming out? We drew 1-2..
November 30, 2008 at 19:49
Well, Vincente would be great. As for Villa, it won’t happen.
November 30, 2008 at 19:50
Let’s do fuckin liverpool the same.if we are six points behind 1 of january anthing could happen
November 30, 2008 at 19:51
Stu – You’ve lost me ?! Sorry..
November 30, 2008 at 19:53
It is a real shame about Almunia he was looking world class against Fenabache away and then the goal we don’t mention which seems to have sent him back to the dark old days. Still we have good back up.
November 30, 2008 at 19:53
Okay your on!!! You get me the job and I’ll prove you wrong!!
November 30, 2008 at 19:54
Gent’s……This is a night to remember….A crucial ref. desicion went our way….
Fucking awesome…BUT was not to impressed with Song. He was lost for the greater part of the game…a complete disaster!
The mighty arsenal strikes again B-)
November 30, 2008 at 19:54
Goontheloon
And your thoughts on the game were what?
November 30, 2008 at 19:54
What Almunia done today, is also something Fabinaski does and needs to improve on..
November 30, 2008 at 19:55
Ha ha Fuck off brother Avenell!
YOU FUCKING LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!
November 30, 2008 at 19:55
I’m feeling both confused and embarrassed so topic change.
Pedro, Almunia needs to be dropped. Jens was definately a better keeper and a far better leader. Jens made 2 misakes,1costly one and got axed. Almunia continues to make errors bt Wenger still persists.
November 30, 2008 at 19:55
Magnus, Magnus, Magnus I will save you some pie for a later date.
November 30, 2008 at 19:56
London – Almunia should be placed on the next plane to Bandar Abbas…
On this level – you should not do errors like he did today….
November 30, 2008 at 19:57
Pedro,
I know you backed a victory matey, how sweet does it feel???????
It feels like the sweetest of all sweets mate! Ha ha
November 30, 2008 at 19:58
I disagree with you pedro about ade.He played his partas we said before the game.he has nuisance value and he is a good shield for a good striker and today it came off.A clinical goalscorer he isn’t,last year was a flash in the pan.
Almunia, must be faulted for the first goal, his throw out was appaling and prior to that he had two consecutive punches which just literally went up in the air.his kicking either went out or to the opposition.Sure he makes good one on one saves but so do all the keepers in the pl exceot gomes,We can defintely improve on him and fabianski is still too young.but keepers are one of wenger’s blindspots.both stoke’s goal were his fault and he is too error prone. Why not rape chelsea of cudacini he would love regular first team football for the best club in london. With a dodgy keeper one just concedes more.he often doesn’t lias with his defenders.a good keeper is worth at least 10 points a season.
November 30, 2008 at 19:59
Sorry London, it could well be that mate!
November 30, 2008 at 19:59
Looking forward to that one
Can not describe how pissed i was with Song’s display. He was basicly 2 meters behind every situation….And he was so slow…like a lost turtle..
November 30, 2008 at 19:59
Pedro
Are you not impressed by the last 30 min?Come on,they outplayed chelsea, and look at the opta,we had 5 shots on goal, they had one,we were far better in both ends
November 30, 2008 at 19:59
It’s great as every person returns you get another wave of euphoria.
November 30, 2008 at 20:01
Wrighty, who cares we beat the chavs.
November 30, 2008 at 20:02
Thomas Vik
Crack open a bottle of virtual Peroni and join the party.
November 30, 2008 at 20:03
I’m hogging this aren’t I?
November 30, 2008 at 20:06
Laters all!
Love it!
November 30, 2008 at 20:09
Thomas… I loved the whole thing! The second half was superb!
November 30, 2008 at 20:09
Fuck me, every cunt and their dog is out today…
Another to put in the bin…
November 30, 2008 at 20:10
Who said that Ade was ok….Come on ….Ade = offside. His movement off the ball was terrible. He ended with the ball high up in the midfield with the back against the goal every time… He made the Chavs defence look very good…
November 30, 2008 at 20:10
Lucky ????
We scored 3 goals. The Chavs scored none.
How is that lucky ?
Time for another large one………
November 30, 2008 at 20:12
maciek, iv said the exact same thing as you re almunia
hes a second rate GK, nothing more.
hes never been given a cap for spain in all his career so why are we persisting with a GK whos regarded as second rate in his own country,
November 30, 2008 at 20:12
I said he was ok, that’s the whole point when you’re being pinned in and your midfield is outnumbered you want to lob the ball up to your strikers and for them to create some space and drag other players into an attack.
The Chav’s defence was dodgy, they’re midfield was good, Ivanovic should have had a yellow for his challenge on Clichy but got let off and Terry should have been sent off.
November 30, 2008 at 20:14
Evening Jonjon
What a big new shiney avitar you have. What does it say?
November 30, 2008 at 20:15
Magnus.
It hate to disagree totally with a fellow Gunner. BUT, Ade made a huge difference to our team.
He was offside only twice (maybe once). He scared the living bejeesus out of their defence in the second half, and allowed RvP to play his normal game.
Earlier people complained that Ade was spending too much time on the wing. Then you say, he spent too much time in midfield with his back to goal..
He held the line. That is what he is paid to do.
And he made both goals. Anything else …. oh, yes, we won
November 30, 2008 at 20:16
Let a couple of them go Pedro they’re funny
November 30, 2008 at 20:17
Big Raddy – I swear today he was a bit more violent aswell, he really did work hard and put himself about a bit, almost trying to bully players.
November 30, 2008 at 20:18
Cheers London!!!!!!LOVE IT
November 30, 2008 at 20:19
This is no time to slag off individuals this is a time to basque in the glory. How do you spell basque?
November 30, 2008 at 20:19
I am truely beaming, so happy. How good was Gallas, him staying could save us. Van Persie was truely world class in the second half.
November 30, 2008 at 20:19
Haha london
how are we mate??
yes i have finally found my avatar skills are complete,
it says click here to see me naked????
November 30, 2008 at 20:21
There you go Thomas Vik and now you can see what the rest of us see in Le Grove.
November 30, 2008 at 20:22
Big Raddy… I’m pretty sure there were more then one offiside here… hi lacked the timing of the run’s, and ended up in offside or up midfield /wing. On the counter attacks he was lost. He was awol when the crosses came in… Ha was still up midfield. He should have been in the box, or at least close to it..
It was Sagna and Gael who made the game. They were fucking awesome…World class.
November 30, 2008 at 20:22
JonJon that is hilarious
November 30, 2008 at 20:31
JonJon …
My no2 and IT expert.. Nice one!!
November 30, 2008 at 20:31
for our first goal, i thought someone played VP onside, anyone?
November 30, 2008 at 20:33
Ahh Magnus we have found some common ground; I agree, Sagna and Clichy were truly awesome
November 30, 2008 at 20:34
As I say Magnus. We disagree. .
Though I do agree that the whole back 4 were brilliant today. WG had one of his best games,. JD was solid. And the FB’s outstanding.
November 30, 2008 at 20:34
Confidentgooner
RVP was well onside no doubt about it.
November 30, 2008 at 20:36
JonJOn. That is a truly repulsive idea – though I tried clicking !!
November 30, 2008 at 20:36
he was offside!
November 30, 2008 at 20:38
Offside by a mile +++ just love it
November 30, 2008 at 20:39
The linesman played RVP onside..
£500 million on players.. £500 quid in the linesmans rear sky rocket… bargain..
November 30, 2008 at 20:39
I go with London and Confident. He was at least 10 yards onside
November 30, 2008 at 20:42
avenell / Wrighty7
Both of you Fuck Off My Brothers.
November 30, 2008 at 20:45
Did he come out today raif? I’m sure you said Sunday!!!
November 30, 2008 at 20:47
ohh yes he did mate. we got home a Hour before kick off witch was a result
also when the 2nd half kicked off i thought id hold him with me watch we watched the game. and law and behold we won
November 30, 2008 at 20:47
I have to say “Gnarley – take a bow” – well predicted on the score. I was only dreaming of a 1-1 draw.
so the rollercoaster continues.
November 30, 2008 at 20:48
i mean. While we watched the match
November 30, 2008 at 20:50
Well you can Fuck off then Raif…
And he can Pee Off!!
Well done mate!!
November 30, 2008 at 20:51
Bit early for that >>>
November 30, 2008 at 20:53
All this talk aobut whether the boy wonder was offside for the equaliser forgets that Drog the dog was offside for his winner here last year.
No complaints from the Chav’s bench about the officials on that occassion.
November 30, 2008 at 20:55
Geez, that was a strange victory. Strangely devoid of nerves on the stretch cause I felt we got an extremely lukcy break with the goal, so it’s not as if I would felt that mugged off if we gave up an equaliser.
I thought Fabregas was our worst midfielder today. Poor defensively and offensively.
Song was the best of a medocre and is far better than Denilson as a cm. At least he has some strength and presence.
What impressed me about the team was way we refused to drop off and let them overlap us. After last season’s debacle there, I think the players were determined not to sit back.
November 30, 2008 at 20:57
Also, what was the story about Geoff and the park bench ?
November 30, 2008 at 21:01
paulinho i thought fab was fantastic today!!!
November 30, 2008 at 21:09
Fabs through balls were good today as always.. But Cesc has had his playmates taken away..
It’s difficult to be one of the best playmakers in the world, with the players Cesc has around him..
Nasri was the best and he wasn’t that great!!
November 30, 2008 at 21:09
djourou an song were like a pair of hungry lions today boys,an my favourite man rvp done it,ade gave us what we been missing!
November 30, 2008 at 21:11
avenell
he actully Pee Off all over my hand when i was cleaning him today. was rather funny. actully.
November 30, 2008 at 21:12
peed off .
November 30, 2008 at 21:14
lol read this from piers morgan:
You’re all quite right, a real fan would never have called for Wenger to go
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1090512/PIERS-MORGAN-Im-prat–real-fan-called-Wenger-go.html
November 30, 2008 at 21:16
I’ll have to watch the match again but from what I remember Fabs was slack defensively and was unusually poor at retaining the ball under presssure.
I thought our back four was absolutely superb in the second half and made our midfield look half presentable.
November 30, 2008 at 21:18
RVP is the man. Again, look at his goal record. That guy gets on the scoresheet, come rain or shine. He may look ungainly but he’s the only one who can conver those opportunities. Ade can never rifle those shots home like that.
November 30, 2008 at 21:20
lol paulinho, just a quick not,van only scores when ade plays
November 30, 2008 at 21:22
right lads im off. till next time.
Come On The ARSENAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 30, 2008 at 21:23
I agree Bergkamp, Ade lulls them into a false sense of security with his flipper feet and RVP lands the howitzer.
November 30, 2008 at 21:24
bergkamp he just won us the game today.. the wrong time to pick on rvp !!!
November 30, 2008 at 21:26
RVP is good as long as he doesn’t use his left foot too often.. Once a game..
RVP can rifle free kicks home.. trouble is he lives in St Albans…
November 30, 2008 at 21:27
choy im not picking on van,all im sayin is without ade’s physical presence van cant play his game choy,an also without ade’s willingness to hassle defenders too many teams dictate games from the back against us,chelsea never got the chance to settle at the back today, villa did an man city did,so choy before you accuse me of picking on rvp you should think,i did rip van persie all week though, but he owed us that game today
November 30, 2008 at 21:27
Oy. Oy bergkamp!!!
Night Raif.. sleep well tee hee..
November 30, 2008 at 21:29
avenell im chuffed, djourou was amazin, the last time he played like that was against chelsea as well
November 30, 2008 at 21:30
rvp doesn’t need adebayor to play his game… I think he plays well with any target man!
November 30, 2008 at 21:31
i still think van should have hit the target with that free kick lol,how did jt an that other defender stay on the pitch?
November 30, 2008 at 21:32
yeah choy,rite,any target man
November 30, 2008 at 21:33
rvp doesn’t do a lot of tap ins.. he just belts it.. give him the ball in a good position and thats what he does most of the time!
November 30, 2008 at 21:33
no but choy, niki bendtner needs closer support than ade,and he doesnt put the fear factor into defenders,jt an the chelsea defence couldnt settle an pick their passes, ade occupies them and that free’s up van
November 30, 2008 at 21:33
JT and Ianovic didnt get sent off because Chelsea were at home and the ref didnt want a rollocking from the fans.
November 30, 2008 at 21:36
Sagna nearly got sent of for damaging John Terry’s English studs with his knee..
November 30, 2008 at 21:36
nick is not like ade.. they may be built similarly but nik is again a second striker.. who links the midfield up with the main striker!
November 30, 2008 at 21:36
Bergkamp,
Rio and Terry once said that it was a nightmare playing against Ade but I think things have changed since then because he seems really lazy this season comared to last. I disagree with you on this because today he didnt really hassle them that much.
November 30, 2008 at 21:37
choy,if you was playing against arsenal,an nikki bendtner an van were the forwards you would worry more about van,an mark him tighter, with ade its hard to judge, underate him at your peril,so as we saw today guys like jt get more atttracted to ade because he plays slightly further forward,i think bendtner will grow to get that respect from defenders but not right now he doesnt provide the players with what ade does, ade is the perfect platform for a van or an eduardo
November 30, 2008 at 21:39
stu its presence, nothing to do with hasslin ,he hassles more than nik, he has pace, power and height, thats enough to put the shyts up most defenders, man city and villa’s defenders had too much time on the ball, thats one of the reasons they both controlled us
November 30, 2008 at 21:39
I am not under rating ade.. he assisted for the second goal and half assisted for the first!
but I was just saying that rvp just needs to play off the main striker! whoever that is!
November 30, 2008 at 21:39
IMO Nik is more of a second striker than RvP is but Wenger is forcing Van back there.
Bendtners best game this season was arguably against Bolton when he played SS and Ade was main striker.
November 30, 2008 at 21:40
last season ade hit 30,he stepped up to the plate because there was no one else, the role he played today was more natural to him,id still flog both van an ade tho lol
November 30, 2008 at 21:41
yeah but choy, playin off of nikki b isnt good enough, nikki doesnt have what ade has, nik needs more support than ade an van doesnt give that when he partners him
November 30, 2008 at 21:42
Bendtner may not be as much as a hassler as Ade is but Nik has far better positioning and that will definately help him bag some goals as he developes.
November 30, 2008 at 21:42
RVP has to go back because Cesc, Nasri, Song and Denilson combination ain’t good enough to provide any service to the strikers..
November 30, 2008 at 21:42
ade has assisted probably 80% of vans goals this season, maybe ade should play behind the van
November 30, 2008 at 21:42
I agree .. ade is the best of what we have at the moment!!!
November 30, 2008 at 21:43
But Nik is a support striker. Ade is a proper forward whereas Nik prefers to link the midfield and striker. Thats wy they played so good at the reebok.
November 30, 2008 at 21:44
no but if we got a good DM van droppin so deep might encroach upon cesc’s favourite creative area of the pitch,or it might allow van to play further forward, thats what song provided today,i think cesc moving further up the pitch allowed van to play more around ade than so deep

nah but i think bendtner should focus more on centre forward, his first touch isnt that great to be droppin deep an standing out wide, its not about hassling defenders, but if you can stop the defenders picking their passes then you unsettle the team, thats what was good today,jt was forced to try run up the wing becuse he couldnt distribute the ball without worryin about ade up his ass
