Swap Flamini for Senderos, we then have our defensive midfielder.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Before I’m shouted down it is a deal that could make sense, Milan clearly don’t intend playing him as their first choice midfield dynamo, he hasn’t replaced Gattuso or anyone else for that matter, he isn’t happy not being the number one, he stays in touch with Cesc on a regular basis, he freely admits he is an Arsenal fan and has all but said he dropped a clanger by leaving.

He stopped short of saying the reason that Arsenal have stuttered this season was because he is missing and we have missed him.

When I saw him running up and down against Pompey I realised that I missed him and saw what Song will never have, if Wenger can bury his pride and ask him to come back, I think he would say ‘what time and where do you want me boss’

He is a Milan player with a 4 year contract so they won’t just let him walk but if we offered them big Phil and Song they may well say OK.

If we did get him back, we would save a lot of money on a Cana, Alonso, Barry or Velosa. Plus Barry and Alonso are not for sale anyway.

Either that or get your cheque book out and sign Xavi. Other news is we are sniffing around Podolski, unless we are offloading Bendtner, I can’t see that, he is very Eduardo-ish and Eduardo played for the reserves this week, so he is on his way back, when I don’t know.

I’m afraid I can’t see that happening, I like him but I think that’s dead in the water, our new CEO should go and find a way of bringing Flamini back, tying down Cesc for another 4 years is a bit pointless as he is already tied to us until 2014 and by then he’ll be too old for Wenger, so why bother?

I watched the under 16′s tonk Scotland last night and our young forward, who’s name escapes me (Afobe?) scored a goal that left him one short of Owen’s record, I tell you what though, he looks good.

Players like that and Simpson, Randall, Merida, Lansbury, Barazite and Wilshere look so good, I’m at a loss to explain how Song is above them all in the pecking order, I mean he by-passed playing reserve team football and he’s not a patch on any of them, I wish that the boss would just explain to us all why, I’ll listen.

I’m beginning to get excited about tomorrow and can’t wait to shove it up the German chavs bottom, he’s predicting that they’ll whip us and be 13 points ahead by Sunday evening, if we play Song he could be right, if we go with Denilson it will be close, if he shoves Rambo in there, we’ll turn the Russian gangster rappers over big time.

I think Billy is due a big game and I think he’ll play him, maybe with Silvestre in this one, there’s no Drogba so we don’t necessarily need Djourou in there, but if he wants to play with a defensive midfielder in there I hope he goes with Kolo or Djourou over Song, my real choice would be Cesc and Rambo as I said, but I don’t think that will happen somehow.

A bit of a pointless day today, we aren’t playing and England will no doubt get stuffed by New Zealand so I may have to do a bit of gardening, ho hum.

Still tomorrow is another day, as Scarlett said to the staircase. Have a great day Grovers, manana the staircase fights back.

Hi rasp – no I didn’t get to the bottom of The Prisoner.

I have now got the stranglers peaches running aound my head tho

  2. kelsey

peaches does wenger talk to his plants like prince william.i can just imagine if the leaves drop off,he will say there is too much water on the pitch and when it is nearly dead he will have belief that they are strong plants and will mature well.

  3. peachesgooner

kelsey – I didn’t ever see AW talking to his plants.

To quote you from earlier – ‘I’m only answering what I’m asked’ :-)

  4. Rasputin

The ending of The Prisoner was very convoluted and open to interpretation. No. 6 (McGoohan) pulls the hood off No1′s face to reveal a chimpanzee and then further to reveal his own face. N–one knows the actual neaning and McGoohan refuses to comment. I think it was a pretty lame way of giving it a deep meaning – that we are all trapped withi our own brains and imagination. The last episode of Blackadder was much more successful at delivering a socking re-evaluation of the series.

  5. peachesgooner

I remember that it was very important to watch the last episode – can’t remember why now – and for some reason, it was all my fault that my first husband didn’t get to see it.
No videos in those days – if you missed it, you missed it. . . . . . divorce followed soon after

  6. avenell

Peaches.. I went to school with the guy.. and we went to college and done welding and fabrication together.
He moved to Cornwall in “88″

he split with his wife and met this “young bird” then he left her…

I know it’s getting boring now but there is a reason……

She and me have always got on well and we ended up together..and I bought his house.. Hence me in Cornwall !!

I have mainly done the deliverys and some installs and made planters..

He won’t show me too much because, my partner helped set his buisness up and he shafted her.
In case I take work from him as I have my own TiG etc..

  7. Rasputin

avenell – I’m in the nursery trade (retail). I also have a friend who designs and manufactures stainless steel garden features – small world

  8. peachesgooner

avenell – what you gonna put in your polytunnels – does rico know what your plans are for her camp-site?

The art-work looks beautiful – needs some planting around it though! Do they live there or were they just passing through

  9. Rasputin

    Avenell…..Nope – sorry.

Do you want to market your designs at Chelsea or Hampton Court, I may be able to help……..

  10. Ja_Gunner

Why doesnt Arsene change formation/tactics to suit the players he has available.

Why not try 4-2-3-1 to help with the shielding of the defense and try 4-3-3 when teams play 10 men behind the ball.

I would play this team against Chelsea.

    …………………….Almunia…………………………..

    Sagna……..Gallas……………Djourou/Sylvest………Clichy

    ……………Denilson/Song…………Cesc…………………

    Van persie………………..Nasri……………………..Vela….

    …………………….Adebayor……………………………..

Depending on how the game goes I would give Ramsey a run out in place of Denilson/Song.

I would also give Simpson a run out in place on the 4 forward players.

Cesc can play deep and still find those piercing through balls…with Denislon and Song sitting a lil deeper backing him up. Let Van persie Ade Vela press the opponents and let Nasri link the midfield and attack.

Nasri could even produce a better game in the centre instead of on the left.
Let Vela keep Bosingwa occupied on the left wing.

  11. peachesgooner

Gunner8 – you brought the stranglers out to play – I’m entirely innocent in all this.

I was just walking along chatting about football as you do, when some bloke started humming a tune !!!!!!

  12. avenell

Peaches.. They are just having there pictures taken outside the worshop, then they left.. We going to dig a large pond and beyond that stick the polytunnels up..
We are going to grow most of our own veg… like Felicity and Richard.. and then see how it goes!!

  13. peachesgooner

avenell – sounds perfect. Loved the story of how you ended up in cornwall. Are you on the north or south coast? I came for a tour about 5 years ago visiting Eden and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

The recovered valley at Heligan is just amazing – needed a lot of funding I felt to make it accessable to more people.

  14. avenell

Rasp…. I appreciate that mate… I don’t really know what I want to do down here mate, I just do t shirts and graphics and stick them on ebay and repair a few cars at the moment.. Idon’t want to create another monster ….

My mate does a bit for a few designers at chelsea etc… your mate and my mate I hope they are not 1 and the same!!!

  15. Gunner8

I just wish we had more players like Song who show that laziness and no hard work can get you to the top!

    I would go with;

    —————-Almunia
    Sagna—-Gallas—Silvestre—Clichy
    ———–Djourou/Toure
    Ramsay—–Fabregas——–Nasri
    ———-Adebayor—-Vela

Wtih a real Defence mined DM for a change, I have noticed that because Silvestre and Gallas like to play up front most of the time it leaves the fullbacks overexposed most of the time, which is why Clichy has made a lot of errors this season because he is the fastest and therefore is the fastest to get back which leaves him playing both LB and CB.

This would enable Ramsey , Fabregas and Nasri to be completly free to pass the Chavs to submission and.

Vela could cover on either flank to make a more solid midfield with Ade plowing on his own.

but AW will never change his tactics… …that is why he has never been a great tactitian, nearly every manager in the world changes his team selection and tactics depending on who they play, cold night in Bolton or a Summer’s day at OT are the same for AW which means he will play his best team (that he thinks) that’s available.

    Almunia
    Sagna
    Gallas
    Silvestre
    Clichy
    Song
    Denilson
    Fabregas
    Nasri
    RvP
    Adebayor

if Diaby is fit he would start for Denilson

  16. avenell

Oh and I forgot I run a porn site on here.. ;)

North Coast.. But the south Coast is only 15 miles away.. I haven’t been to those places yet I wanted to go to the gardens of Heligan this year, but you know what it’s like when it’s on your doorstep..

  17. Confidentgoner

    Gunner 8,

That would indeed be a fantastic team, capable of beating the chavs. But the problem is our man AW, will not play that team. He will put Dennilson or Song in the Dm role. Song who is Lazy, without pace and Dennilson who is not defensive.

The guy is a mediocre coach. he is overrated, honest. Give Benitez the team he has and see him bring out a winning combo. Or Jo Mo , or Fergie for that matter.

  18. Stu

Sunderlad are having a nightmare. 4-1 down and it could have been more. Elmander is looking good. Should have gotten his hattrick already.

  19. Stu

Confident, give this team to any of the other top4 managers and you can be sure that they would sell almost the whole squad. We definately have the weakest squad of the CL teams. There is no way we will win anything like this.

  20. patthegooner

Cant believe I am looking out for Villa’s results but 0-0 means we can get back in the top 4 tomorrow,

    Come On Arsenal……..

  21. Stu

Apparently reposts coming from Moscow say that Bendtner has agreed to talks with Spartak. A loan initially with the option for a £5m move. I hope he goes on loan, might do him some good, but I dont want him leaving permanently.

  22. JonJon

it wouldnt be the most distressing time if we sold bendtner, he wouldnt exactley be missed would he.

it just depends how much he went for, 5mils abit short.

i heard bayern wanted him in the summer and were ready to pay 10mil

id of snapped their hand off for 10

  23. Gunner8

Ashley Cole is a farking Arsehole! for Peaches

Confident, that’s what I said… …every gooner can see it.

My claim to managerial fame was on the stunning grounds of Wandsworth in the Sunday league where I took over the helm at a club that were bottom of the league in october with 4 straight losses and playing 4-4-2 and almost made the playoffs by changing the formation to 3-3-2-2 sounds wierd, but we had 3 center backs who were all 6’2 or taller a tiggerish DM and great wingbacks no real strikers and two really great attacking midfielders.

After a couple of losses and near mutiny I got a better striker and an ex-pro midfielder and started creaming teams 6-1, 8-2 winning one game 13nill

    It’s not brain science

  24. London

    Stu

That is difficult to believe as it would only take an injury to Adebayor and Van Percie and Bentner would be needed.

  25. JonJon

Unless wengers lining up a move for podolski london.

if hes going to spend in jan, you can bet your last squid that AW will try and balance the books.

  26. London

Selling Bentner now would come back to haunt us. It is still not beyond the realms of imagination that by the time he is 25 he could be world class.

  27. JonJon

i just dont see that happening london,

ive watched bendtner play enough now to believe he wont be more than a decent striker with a worldclass ego.

also, we dont have 5 years to wait to see if a player would become good.

we should cash in and use the money to buy a player who is already quality

podolski would be a bargain, hes only 23, hes scored 31 times in 60 games for germany and will only get better,

id be all for it if bendtner left and podolski came.

  28. avenell

I’m not sure about Bendtner, he’s looking more like Lee Chapman than world class but he is young.

Isn’t Hunterlaar more of a player like Nik, more of a tall hit man, where as Podolski is more like Vela and Eduardo…

  29. London

Our season doesn’t depend on Bentner; he happily plays understudy to Adebayor and RVP and because of that we do have 5 years to wait. If Podolski comes it will not depend on the sale of Bentner.

  30. JonJon

Its hard to bracket nikki, he doesnt really hold up the ball, he doesnt really dribble, he doesnt really have any pace, he doesnt really finish,

he doesnt really do anything that stand out, id replace him with anyone that could score goals

  31. London

Hunterlar is an extremely good example. World class might be going a bit too far but he can very easily be Hunterlar with attitude.

  32. JonJon

I dont think podolski coming would depend on bendtner, podolskis apparantly available for 12mil, we could afford that for a play of his calibre

but what i do think is AW will try balance the books somehow and nikki is the obvious choice

besides podolski would offer ade and rvp more comp, he may even become first choice with the way they are playing, then we could sell ade too :)

  33. Stu

Huntelaar and Nik are very similar IMO. Hentelaar, althought a great goalscorer, doesnt really have any top quality attributes. He is considered by many to be slow, weak for his size, a poor headerer and pretty lazy but he cant half score out of nowhere.

Nik is very similar. He isnt really knows for anything positive but showed last season and on a select few occasions this that he is a good finished. Plus Huntelaar is already 25years old and still playing in Holland.

I for one would like to keep Bendtner but a loan deal wouldnt be the worst.

  34. London

I agree that Wenger does ilke to balence the books but there is one other way that he seems to justify spending real money and that is if he feels that he hass to replace a player i.e. Nasri for Hleb so if by January it is decided that Eduardo is not going to take part in this season then that would allow Wenger to justify to himself the purchase of Podolski. The same applies to Rosicky; one more operation between now and January and any remaining hope of him returning would have well and truly disappeared.

  35. JonJon

    Stu,

your bang on with huntelaar, he doesnt have that many qualitites, other than finishing.

but he is deadly, he scores with both feet and his head, thats why he has such a fantastic goal scoring record, but he needs other good players to do the work for him.

bendtner is nowhere near huntelaars level, he doesnt find the space huntelaar does and he cant finish like he does so to compare them isnt right,

saying that i dont know whether huntellar could do it in another league, thats probably why no1s bid for him yet, not for 20mil anyway, its too much of a risk

  36. kelsey

I think a lot will depend on eduardo with regards to nicci.for the moment he is o.k. as an impact player to come on for 30 minutes.playing 4-5-1 with him is hopelless.i still think he would be better suited to la liga or even the italian league as the game is slower.i don’t think he will go down in memory as one of our great strikers.

just looked at the league table and bolton were bottom 2 and now only 4 points behind us,its all getting rather tight.

  37. Stu

Is there any uefa rules against loaning a player out for more than a year. If so then we could loan Nik out for about 3-4years until he becomes “world class” and then he can slot back into the team. Its the cheapes and best solution because everyone, bar a few, seem to hate him.

  38. JonJon

Podolski can play wing though too London,

with walcott out and rosickys date for return unknown, i wouldnt rule a move for podolski out totally

  39. kelsey

    london,

what you say makes sense but will we really strengthen in january.rosicky has been njured on or off for over 2 years as has rvp but wenger doesn’t buy unless they are free or kids.

  40. JonJon

    London,

i agree mate thats why i said its not right to compare them.

but i’ll also say that huntelaars been banging them in since he was 20, bendtner isnt!!

i wouldnt want huntelaar though, too risky at that price, like i said hes never done it outside of the dutch league, 20mil plus is abit much

  41. Stu

For Ajax wiki says that Huntelaar has 100goals in 120games. But that is in the Eredivisie and the defending is horrible at best there. Thats .83 goals per game. Not too bad but Nik might be just as good in Holland.

  42. JonJon

    Exactly Stu,

but bendtner isnt that level, he probably wouldnt get anywhere near them stats in any league,

nikkis not a finisher, huntelaar is,

you either have it or you dont,

AW likes to get young players so he can develop their game, but theres only so much you can teach someone, you are either born to do it our you arent.

huntelaar was born to be a finisher, nikki wasnt, he will improve, but not at the level to be a lethal striker.

  43. avenell

Funny you should say that raif…

    1993–1997 Den Bosch 069 (17)
    1997–1998 SC Heerenveen 031 (13)
    1998–2001 PSV Eindhoven 067 (62)
    2001–2006 Manchester United 150 (95)
    2006– Real Madrid 067 (45)

  44. JonJon

Van horseface was a differant player raif, he could do other things as wel as finish, he could link up play, run at players and hold up the ball, he could score a goal from nothing thats why man utd got him

huntelaar can only finish. he doesnt have the other attributes, which is probably why at 20mil+ hes still in holland. and not at madrid barca or any other big team.

its probably why hes running out his contract with ajax, teams would take the risk with him at a cheaper price.

  45. Stu

Fuck me!! Technically on paper Huntelaar is better than Ruud was in Holland.

According to Wiki Ruud has 105goals in 191games. So Huntelaar is better on paper. For PSV alone Ruud got 62 in 67games but before joiing PSV his record was pretty poor. Go figure like!

  46. Geoff

I would sooner buy Benzema or Gourcoff, or spend even more and get Villa, Podolski is not a bad shout but Huntelaar doesn’t float my boat.

  47. JonJon

Geoff, if we sold bendtner and ade we could afford both podolski and villa

id take huntelaar, but only when his contract runs out.

  48. raif

Huntelaar was named as Ajax vice-captain for 2006–07[28] and became the first player to score a goal at Arsenal F.C.’s new Emirates Stadium in a testimonial match for Dennis Bergkamp

first player to score at the Emirates. Fate could be telling us somthing lol :)

  49. Geoff

Eduardo got the first competitive goal for Zagreb at the Grove, so what did that tell us? buy Huntelaar and he’ll break his leg?

  50. Stu

Huntelaar is what we need. For all the beautiful football we play there is never anyone who just puts the ball in the net no questions asked. Im sure everyone will agree how frustrating it is when we keep the ball for ages, miss opportunity after opportunity and then concede an easy goal.

  51. avenell

Here’s Eduardo’s stats… Is the Croation league better than the Dutch one?…

    2001–2007 Dinamo Zagreb 111 (73)

    2002–2003 Inter Zaprešić (loan ) 15 (10)

    2007– Arsenal 17 (4)

  52. raif

    Stu

sound like Kevin Costner’s Field of dreams. “if you build it, they will come”

but in our case its, “”if you create it, he will score”"

  53. JonJon

    You think so Geoff?

Ive never really rated ade, even after last season,

he misses too many chances that other strikers would take blindfolded

id have let him go at 30mil, and used the money to get Villa,

imagine if we had villa. with all the chances we create, villa would hit twice as many as ade does

80k a weeks a bit steep too, he wont hit 30 goals again

  54. raif

and i would have let him go for 20 mill. at the very least.

with that money and the money from the board Villa, that Argie from athletico Madrid, or Hunter, anyone who can score a goal with half a chance would have been nice

  55. Stu

    Ade is a greedy cunt!

Im not only basing that on his summer antics but also this international exploits. Remember when Togo were refusing to play in the World Cup match because the players wanted more money, and wasnt Ade their captain. And he had problems at Monaco aswell. We should get rid of him while he is still worth something.

  56. JonJon

if we had a fit squad are strikers would be

    ade
    rvp
    eddie
    vela
    kinyboots
    walcott
    simpson

the way i see it we could let two of them go, ie ade and kinkyboots, raise a shit load of cash and buy some bloody good players

  57. raif

    Stu

if u want to sell Ade on his Ego then RVP has to go aswell. his another trouble maker.

another reason as to why ADE and RVP cant play together

  58. raif

what i also find funny. only West ham was tracking Ade before he ended up leaving his club for us.

i think he had a bust up with the coaching staff or somthing as to why we got him for peanuts

  59. Stu

Agreed, Ade and RvP can either stop being pricks or fuck off to another team. The only problem I see with selling our “better” players is if they come back to bit us in the Arse by doing good against us.

  60. JonJon

Geoff, do you mean when he nutted kinkyboots???

    that sort of trouble???

i know what you mean but eddie vela and rvp also cause trouble

i honestly believe that if rvp and eddie had a full season last year, either of them could of got 30, ade was the only fit striker last year, to demand 80k was out of order and we should of taken the money for him.

i wonder what the rest of the team thought when ade got that rise, hes not even our best player.

no wonder the dressing room is down.

  61. Stu

Ade didnt ask for 80k a week, thats just what it ended up at. The figures varied but it was supposedly aroung 100-120k demands. He wanted to get what Henry was on when he left.

  62. Wrighty7

    Evening all!

Good post Geoff. I quite like the idea of having Flamini back.

In my opinion Cesc and Flamini could have formed a partnership that was BETTER than Petit and Vieira.

Strong words but just my opinion.

  63. Paulinho

I wouldn’t start Ade tomorrow. What does he bring anymore? The 2006/07 days of him being ‘the hardest striker to defend against’ seem long gone. He doesn’t work half as hard as he used to and for Ade to be effective he needs to be busting a gut at all times.

If he half-arses it tomorrow he will add precisely nothing to our attack. The ball over the top will be cancelled out because he’ll be offside. He will be poor at holding the ball up cause he’ll let Terry come in front of him all day. He will be useless- just like he was at Stamford Bridge last year.

I would play RVP as the sole striker. Try and get free kicks and use RVP’s delivery to sneak a goal. If Chelsea start opening up, we can bring Ade on with twenty minutes to go. As a sub he adds the qualities everyone talks about.

  64. JonJon

    wrighty

    yoooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    how you doing mate??

flamini and cesc was a worldclass partnership in the making

diiferant to the petit paddy one but just as mouthwatering

  65. Wrighty7

I’ll be honest guys and gals, Ade really pissed me off in the summer but you can’t deny that he causes other teams problems.

Rio Ferdinand and John Terry both said he is the hardest player to mark in the Premiership so he can’t be that bad.

I think his head is still not right but I’d rather Ade in the side than not.

  66. raif

    hi there Wrighty mate.

it would be a welcome boost for the players to have the flamster back

but to be honest he wont. and thats Bcos Wenger wont buy him back after flamini agreeing to join Milan before the season was over.

and it would make us look like right Mugs if we did buy him back..

  67. JonJon

    King Adebayor,

doesnt have the same ring to it,

after one goalscoring year as well, egotistical greedy git, i still think we should of sold him, its players in the team like him thats the reason weve been poor

  68. JonJon

I good thanks wrighty, was looking for a new post on your blog but you let me down mate!!!! ;)

what do you reckon for tomorrow?

  69. Wrighty7

    Hiya Raif,

I know that Flamini coming back wont happen mate. It’s a shame that he even left in the first place.

Flamini has that one quality that a lot of the current lot lack- A BIG HEART

  70. Paulinho

I would play Ramsay as well. If we play Denilson we will die a slow death as Chelsea gradually do a boa constrictor job on us. At Ramsay has some fearlessness about him and he can shoot.

  71. raif

    Wrighty7

i remember when PV04 and EDU was injurd and we was playing the Chavs at the bridge. we pissed all over them. and was unlucky to come away with a 1 – 1 draw. RP7 also hit the cross bar to boot.

we really miss his energy. or a player of that kind. as there are others like him on the market

  72. Wrighty7

    Raif,

I always liked Flamini despite him not being a regular until his final season. He always gave 100% and I could see him giving the current squad a real rollicking for some of their half-hearted performances.

He was a leader as well.

  73. Stu

I wanted him as captain instead of Gallas. He is another leader type we are missing this season. Once Rosicky retrns then we will be fine. (i hope)

  74. Confidentgoner

    Jonjon.

The strikers I will keep in order of rating are :

Ade, Eduardo, Vela, RVP , Simpson.

Ade for his nuisance value to defenders, so he creates soace for another striker. I think he plays better when he is a sub than when he is left for 90mins. His offiside positioning can really be disgusting,. RThe main reason why I rate him highest is his strenght and resilence. RVP has a glassy knee and shoots eratically. Eduardo is a class act in finishing.. He is our top striker but never got enough chances to strut his stuff.

Walcott is a midfielder, so am not ranking him. Seriously we need a top striker. Anelka may have been the guy for us but now we will struggle to get somebody. Villa used us to get a good pay day with his club. Podolski am not convinced, ditto Huntellar. But we can poach from the Premiership- Agbonlahor anyone?

Walcott can potentially be anther Messi or Ronaldo, but he needs to get a grip on himself. At 19, he is not too young. and I hope he can push himself in training. He needs to make better decisions at the final end of his run.. Credit to him he is getting braver compared to last season.

    Hello everyone!
I respect Your view guys, but I don’t understand this Huntelaar debate. We got Eduardo and Vela who are both great finishers. Why take another one? If we sell Adebayor and Bendtner, we should bid for Benzema or Pogrebnyak from Zenit, but at the moment we don’t need anyone. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to see Hunter at our Club, but he isn’t needed. Although we do need two CDM’s amd two CD’s.

  76. Maciek

Wrighty and JonJon. I love this Club and I would love to see us winning but let’s face it. Neither Silvestre nor Song and Denilson are good enough to play up against Anelka, MIkel, Cole( Joe- if not injoured) and so on. We haven’t won at the bridge since 2004 and we have had a better teams. Tomorrow at 19:00 pm, many people will be demanding Wenger’s head, and rightly so. I RESPECT YOUR OPINION but we are just an average team at the moment. But well, I hope I’m wrong. I would love to be wrong but we are in trouble.

    maciek,

We are not excellent but with some smart team picks we can challenge any side. That is really the point. Chelsea have a good mid and defense, but they are not great going foward. Now they mix it up with the overlapping fullbacks to add bite to their attack. We need to stop Bosingwa and that will happen if nasri or Vela do their bit, leaving Clichy to shield his runs. I still tip man U to win the Premiership.

I’m sick of the anti song posts that you boys write…its makes me sick because he is a great player….you’ll see…the blog is so snti song..why?

  79. Stu

    Maciek,

I dont think we have a great attack. Our forward like may have the same personel as last year but the players are very different this season. I DO think that we need a striker of Huntelaars or Villas quality because our strikers are definately not good enough.

We scored so many goals last season because Cesc was on top of his game and we had Hleb doing well and Rosicky is a great player when fit. This season we have Denilson ruining Cesc, Theo doing very little and Nasri still finding his feet.

A striker of Huntelaars finishing ability is desperately needed IMO because we have already lost 5 games and how many have we faileds to score in so far?

  80. Stu

Uba, we are so against Song because he is ….. whats the word…. shit. When he has come on season more often than not we have conceded a goal and as DM it is his responsibility to prevent midfielders from having shots. He just doesnt do that, plus he is pretty lazy, usually a poor passer and showed that he has no respect by disobeying Toure’s orders(a senior player).

Oh, and this might be just me but, at the start of the season he opted to abondom the team by going to the olympics and further anger us fans when our opinions of him were already bad ones.

    Good enough??

I really like this blog…hat off to Geoff and Pedro for delivering good posts every day!!

I used to like the comment section aswell….now there is too much chit chat about the “wheather” and personal stuff. Keep it footballish plz :)

So heres my team for the big clash tomorrow: 4-3-3 to match their midfield

    ——– Fabianski ———–
    Sagna Gallas Silvestre Clichy
    ——- Denilson ———–
    —- Ramsey Fabregas ——
    V.Persie Nasri
    —– Adebayor ——–

I think Fabianski needs more exp but wont bottle it like Almunia
Djourou is an option but there is no Drogba so i went for experience in the back
Song is the only option in midfield witch is a complete nightmare
Up front we have Wilshere, Vela and Bendnter to throw in the mix

I can only see us gettin a draw 1-1

  82. JonJon

    Confident,

    walcotts a striker mate

he only plays wing cos wenger values his pace and rosicky is injured

    Maciek

i totally agree with you, we are an average team for the PL, but we are built for the big teams and for teams in europe, when teams like to play, we play just as good,

drogba is out injured tomorrow, so chelsea cant rely on the highball, they will play the ground game which will suit us and we always raise our game when we are the underdog

    we have a chance tomorrow

  83. Stu

We should put ina bid for Vicente, a REAL winger. Not a converted keeper or a former ball-boy like wenger just loves doing.

  84. JonJon

    Thats right Stu

we dont have any real wingers in the squad

i know when we have a fully fit squad we will be the wengerball side,

but its all plan A, we need wingers to have a plan B

  85. Maciek

Stu- isn’t Vincente an injiury prone player? What do You think of other Valencia winger, David Silva? About our strikers- yest they can be wasteful but, Eduardo and Vela can be our Huntelaar’s. Eddie is a very good finsher as well as Vela, so why bring David Villa aside from his “world class” status?

  86. avenell

I don’t agree on the wingers issue.. They don’t work at Arsenal because they have no room to work in..
We need players who can play quick, neat total football like Pires, Hleb and Rosicky.

  87. Stu

We couldnt afford Silva and he isnt really a winger either, he prefers to play behind the strikers.

I would still pick Huntelaar if given the chance. He is a proven finisher. Vela is too young and never plays whereas Eduardo wont be back to his best for a while. Wenger needs to take a risk and just splash out on Huntelaar.
