Cesc to be our new captain, fantastic! or should I say ‘Captain fantastic’ he should have done that in the summer but better late than never.
I don’t believe it’s a cynical ploy to keep him this summer, I think Cesc wears his heart on his shirt and always has done, he’s as Arsenal as Tony Adams and his face when scoring against Milan last year and Sunderland this, says it all, making him captain will bring his game back.
It will also give him a say on how we play, who, if anyone we buy, and it gives him a voice on the team for the first time in his career and that can only be good for us, the fans, it may also attract some world class talent in January.
All he needs to do now is tell the boss what he thinks of Song, but enough of that now, lets talk about tonight and Sunday.
I believe that we will win convincingly this evening and if Cesc can convince the boss to let him play alongside Rambo, with Wilshere and Vela out wide we could be unstoppable.
I am going to suggest a line up that is unique to football and if Wenger reads this and follows it, it could unseat the chavs on Sunday as well as Kiev tonight.
2-4-4 what you say? 2-4-4? there’s no such thing, well read on my friends. Injuries permitting.
Fabianski
Djourou Gallas
Sagna Fabregas Ramsey Clichy
Wilshere Simpson RVP Vela
With two of the middle four going back when needed and the same with the front 4.
Pedro and I have always remained faithful to our policy of not commenting on other blogs (save our good friend Wrighty7) especially if they bad mouth us, that way we starve them of oxygen and don’t allow them their 15 minutes of fame, however I’m breaking the rule for this twerp but not so much that I’ll publish his name, I won’t give him that satisfaction.
Yesterday we had a classic AKB on, only this one writes his own blog. People in the past have used their blogs to rant about Le Grove, which we have always found amusing as it’s often the only way they get read, however this particular blog is so dreadful he only got 7 comments for his article all day, in fact I went back and found he only had 28 comments for his last 11 posts and some of those comments were from Grovers telling him what a sad bastard he was. Well pencil dick, if you don’t like Piers Morgan, Myles Palmer or me don’t read our sites, I sure as hell don’t read yours.
If I could have a bet on who this twit is I would go for – never worked, still a student, may even be in the union, lives with his mummy when he’s not at Uni, thinks he’s intellectually superior to anyone who writes a blog and thinks he can do it better than anyone else. Finally because he’s still not a real man yet, threatens people when he’s on the other side of the internet where he’s safe, like the AKB children do at the weekend. Oh and has only been to the Arsenal with a grown up and sure as hell has never bought a season ticket!
Our policy obviously works because almost all the offending blogs now seem to share our view on all things Arsenal, which as you can imagine, we find mildly amusing and incredibly ironic!
Enough on that, we move on, so if Wenger plays this team and plays all these players in their real positions, I can see us taking the chavs apart too, we beat the Mancs, the chavs are no better and they will be super confident, so by my twisted logic, we can beat them too, then we’ll be back in it and that 40-1 bet looks like a good one.
So tonight let’s get behind the boys, let Cesc know what we think of him being captain and tear them three new rectums, tonight we can find Jerusalem, tonight we begin our long awaited season, tonight we qualify for the next round of the European cup we are going to win, tonight we win by three clear goals, tonight is Cesc’s night, go forth Arsenal and multiply!
And for all of us that are there, let the world hear the library has closed!
Have a great day Grovers, have a great night Cesc, pick the right team Arsene and God will do the rest, Whoever your God is!
P.S. Just before I go… Pedro has 2 spare tickets for club level tomorrow (half price)!

Le Grove is now smart phone compatible!

November 25, 2008 at 09:29
Ok so has anyone read it?
November 25, 2008 at 09:30
COme on a big performance is needed tonight, but will he start Bendtner!!!!! “Gets the prayer mat out”
November 25, 2008 at 09:31
Thank you! thank you! thank you! thank you!!!!! Cesc Fabregas is the new captain of Arsenal FC. This was truly the only thing that could make me happy about ourbeloved club at this moment. Something good did come out of the past two weeks’ nightmare. Good luck Cesc and make us all proud!
November 25, 2008 at 09:31
I have to say. I think Wenger has handled this situation very well indeed.
He’s taken decisive and swift action. He’s not left the press any deeper into the story at all (for Gallas to be playing tonight something fairly major, like a very humble Gallas, must have happened and the papers would ahve loved that!!) and we’ve come out the other end of this situation with a posistive.
You can’t always say this but this has been good management. Well done Arsene.
(Felt kinda nice to say that)
November 25, 2008 at 09:32
Cesc is the man and this is gonna be the real start to our season!!!
And a successful one at that!!!!
Come on Cesc – Come on you Gunners!!!!!!!
November 25, 2008 at 09:32
Bendtner shouldn’t start!!!
November 25, 2008 at 09:32
2-4-4….. Geoff I think you’re as mad as Wenger ^^
but at least you left Song out, so props to you
November 25, 2008 at 09:33
I have read the whole post and may i respectfully point out that sagna is injured, geoff
November 25, 2008 at 09:34
So who’s vice…..Kolo?
November 25, 2008 at 09:34
I said injuries permitting Kelsey but thanks for the heads up, Seb, I hope so, I think you need to be to support Arsenal at the moment!
November 25, 2008 at 09:35
I hope Clichy Iceman.
November 25, 2008 at 09:35
now i have Geoff.
was the rant on the AKB really worth your time?
and I agree with Seb. The 2-4-4 seems crazy…….
u didnt really explain your logic
great post nonetheless
November 25, 2008 at 09:35
iceman
Bentner should,nt be in the squad! period
November 25, 2008 at 09:35
HAHAHA
That blogger was the saddest bastard I ever saw. Such a brainless twat.
November 25, 2008 at 09:36
Shouldn’t that be announced formally too Geoff?
November 25, 2008 at 09:36
G4ever, no, but Grovers often ask why I didn’t hit back, it was a student saying he would slap me that made me respond.
November 25, 2008 at 09:37
Jules i agree 100%. The guy is average at best and has no place at the Arsenal. He’s our worst player alongside Song.
November 25, 2008 at 09:37
Would think so Iceman, spot on Spurdozer!
November 25, 2008 at 09:37
How about giving Bendtner his last chance and play him in place of Gallas or Djourou.
November 25, 2008 at 09:37
2-4-4 made me laugh. Reminds me of playing at school 2-3-5 with right half, left half, inside right and inside left.
That team should score a few.
November 25, 2008 at 09:39
Jules you know he will though….
I feel he’s had his chances……give Vela a shot now…….
November 25, 2008 at 09:39
You know what chozzer, we all used to play that way, I think it would be exciting, don’t you?
November 25, 2008 at 09:39
Bendtner has all the true ingredients for a gr8 defender. Tall, and never scores goals so he won’t be conceding own goals.
November 25, 2008 at 09:40
Geoff .
If I may ask ; there have been conflicting reports on if we actually have any money to spend or not ie 17 to be raised each window to pay debt v wenger has funds if he wants them .
What is your view on this or do you have any info on the subject ?
cheers , Julian
November 25, 2008 at 09:40
Good post Geoff.
I like the forward thinking formation…am gonna give it a go on proevo!
So, any predictions for tonight?
Im going with 3-0
Big night for Cesc, a big performance from him, and he will get amongst the scorers!!!
November 25, 2008 at 09:41
Very optimistic post geoff,I hope you are right but i don’t agree with you(is that allowed)We have won 1 of 5 games, conceded 12 goals in the process and haven’t kept a clean sheet.
cesc may make a good captain, but it was only a few days ago, some were calling for him to be given a rest,as surely you must agree that he has not played to his best this season.I think it is a huge responsibility for someone so young to be captain, but i hope it generates some passion in the team.I would take 1-0 but we have conceded first in 8 or 9 pl games this season.
I know i sound negative, but the facts don’t lie,and i will be as nervous as the next man, hoping we really perform tonight.
November 25, 2008 at 09:41
Yeah he could do okay in defence as his first touch will put the ball straight out of play every time. Him and Ade at the back. Until they learn how to stop the ball without having to chase after it like headless chickens.
November 25, 2008 at 09:41
could,nt agree more with you iceman .lol spurdozer !
November 25, 2008 at 09:42
Jules last count was £75mil but I think we have more.
Michael I’m going for 5 nil! but at the least by 3 clear goals, it depends which defence turns up.
November 25, 2008 at 09:42
Morning All…
All the best CESC FABREGAS………..
We’ve got CESC FABREGAS….!
November 25, 2008 at 09:42
spurdozer…good point!!!lmao!
November 25, 2008 at 09:42
The shame of it all is that I expect we will end up playing 4-5-1 again with Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee in midfield as usual which will piss off the captain, the ineffective Robin as a lone striker (disaster) or even worse Nikki Pinkboots,
The ONLY shining light is that the boss will be forced to play one of our truly exciting young players on one wing, ie Ramsey Wilshere Merida or Vela. Maybe he’ll realise what a difference they could make, rather than continue to stick Denilson or Diaby out wide in some sort of bizarre act of religious devotion.
November 25, 2008 at 09:42
G4 ever
you better not be the person i think you are or ill fillet you on a skillet
and yes ALL AKB are cunts !
November 25, 2008 at 09:42
You know what Geoff my team’s formation in PRo EVo is 2-5-3, but you are more ambitious than me!
November 25, 2008 at 09:42
Kelsey you know it’s not allowed, I’m always right!
November 25, 2008 at 09:43
dobbi .
they would still manage to get caught offside all the time though !
November 25, 2008 at 09:43
the same person who told me too fuck off too le grove whilst at ACLtwat!
and thought we were all dead shits there !
November 25, 2008 at 09:44
Yes Geoff very exciting.
Certainly more exciting than 4-4-2 with Denilson and Song as centre midfield.
I just typed Sung instead of Song – wouldn’t it be great if he was past tense (in an Arsenal sense of course).
November 25, 2008 at 09:44
Yes Geoff!!!
Loving the positivity!!
I think we will see a new Arsenal tonight.
More togetherness, more urgency and better football -COME ON!!!!!
I have got a fantastic feeling about how things will pan out from here on…..
November 25, 2008 at 09:46
LOL Jules
November 25, 2008 at 09:47
I am quite surprised that some fans have greeted Cesc being made captain as a cynical ploy to keep him; they seem to be that same people that criticised the club for not doing enough to keep Flamini.
Naturally, I would like to see Cesc spend the rest of his career at Arsenal but alas as we all know Cesc will return to his beloved Barça, it would be the same as you or I getting a call from Arsenal: some forces are irresistible. However, bear in mind that in two year’s time Ramsey and Nasri will be ready to take over. In the mean time we are lucky enough to have one of the world’s truly gifted players playing for us who has rightly been made captain. So, stop moaning and support your team.
November 25, 2008 at 09:48
Morning All
Nice to see a return to optimism. Totally illogical, but welcome nonetheless.
Is the game on Brit TV (not Sky) ?
November 25, 2008 at 09:48
Not sure on that Geoff and hoping for a little more insight buy hey if thats true I hope we buy the midfielder and defender we need . Perferably English as we lack that mix .
Upson and Barry would be nice . dreaming I guess but its so anoying that if we got these two or similar we would fly .
hope on guys
November 25, 2008 at 09:48
Hi Guys…. it’s been a while.
Great article Geoff as always. Quite liking your formation but you know Wenger will more than likely play it safe tonight and play 5 in midfield. I do share your sentiments on Vela though… i would love to see him played out wide with our current injury problems. He was brilliant on the left wing for osasuna last season and we can’t keep playing central midfielders out wide because it doesn’t work and never has.
Pedro what’s going on with your fantasy team mate? you’re down in 240th dude. You’re dropping faster than George Michael to his knees in a public toilet.
On a seperate note i think Navratilova will win I’m a celebrity…. she’s used to eating bush tucker.
Oh dear… i’ll get my coat
November 25, 2008 at 09:49
great post!! morning lads and ladies!!
i hope the first thing said to wenger is… so who u gonna buy to play next to me in jan?
i hope the fact they gave worked together for so long and seem very close means that cesc will able to talk to arsene properly rather than just as his boss and i think arsene would take more notice of cesc cos he obviously thinks allot of him.
2-0 tonight and ill be very happy
November 25, 2008 at 09:49
All the positivity in the World will not make Song a decent player. And he is nailed on to start tonight
November 25, 2008 at 09:49
London…well said! Cesc is a true Gunner and i think he will stay with us for atleast another 3-4 years. We will the CL with him in the team.
Come on Wenger, get Cana, Van Buyten, Micah Richards and Huntelaar in January!!!
November 25, 2008 at 09:50
Welcome Back GoonerJay.
Long time , no see.
November 25, 2008 at 09:51
ethan, mindset of an AKB:
An AKB says: I like hot dog, do you like it.
.
Sensible person: No, I don’t like hotdog, and also I am full.
.
AKB: Fuck off, Go support the scum you loser.
.
.
DUMBHEADS
November 25, 2008 at 09:51
B.Raddy..its on itv4
November 25, 2008 at 09:51
Dear all
Do you remember cesc said about a month ago that there is no experience in midfield and it is difficult winning anythin without experience
Do you people think Wenger will take him for granted as he does with us or do you have any hope he will buy some experienced midfielders come january (also to give them time a longer integration period in view of next season)?
November 25, 2008 at 09:52
My office just received this from someone on this site, any ideas,
Your application to join our online dating agency has been officially
REJECTED.
One of the questions we asked on the application was:
‘What do you like most in a woman?’ “My dick” is not an appropriate answer.
Thank you for your interest, and best of luck in finding a compatible partner.
November 25, 2008 at 09:52
Pardon my cynicism, but without mentioning any names, not so long ago, quite a few le-grovers were giving props to Bentdner and hammering Ade, and for justifiable reasons I might add, but i am I right in saying the tide seems to be turning just a fraction in favour of the much maligned “Togo Tosser”? 3-0 to the Arsenal tonight…..!
November 25, 2008 at 09:52
itv 4 big rad
November 25, 2008 at 09:52
What prompted that Spurdozer ?
November 25, 2008 at 09:53
Geoff, what a post! – I’ve cum in my pants! – are you sure you’re not Winston Churchill reincarnate?
November 25, 2008 at 09:53

November 25, 2008 at 09:54
Did they find out about my drug abuse Seb ?
November 25, 2008 at 09:55
ed atom
not me .
do not rate him good enough for this club , and to come out in pink boots .
what a knob . sorry to have ago at the lad but he is just not good enough and has now had plenty of chances ,
give Vela a go .
November 25, 2008 at 09:55
Goonerjay I like the analogy, I like yours too Spurdozer.
Raddy I know what you mean but I hope he was watching the game and Cesc is honest with him, Song is without doubt the worst player ever to wear the shirt, did you notice how he trots back into position like the great Henry did? What a twat!
November 25, 2008 at 09:55
No, but they have now!
November 25, 2008 at 09:55
spurdozer
or …
does 2+2 = 4 ? NO
name the difference between the god and arsene ? Nothing
english players are shit french are the best … I agree !
dont we need big names at the club ?… No, save the money being financially sound is more important!
fuck em all !
November 25, 2008 at 09:56
Young Guns are saying Merida might start.
They are normally on top of their sources, they got Hoyte starting etc.
what do you guys think of that.
I presume he would start out wide.
November 25, 2008 at 09:57
Guys, I’ll be back in an hour or two? BR That blog
November 25, 2008 at 09:57
Rasputin I think we needed a rallying call.
November 25, 2008 at 09:58
ethan
November 25, 2008 at 09:59
Guys .
who thinks we will actually buy anyone significant in Jan ??
November 25, 2008 at 10:01
So, who will get the nod out of
Ramsey Wilshire Merida Vela Lansbury?
One of them HAS to play, the team will (unfortunately) be
Almunia
Hoyte Gallas Silvestre Clichy
Song
Denilson Cesc (Insert Player Here)
Bendtner Van Persie
I think Ramsey is most likely to get the nod. I would prefer it to look like this in midfield/attack though:
Ramsey Denilson Cesc Wilshere
Bendtner Vela
Robin needs to be taken off his pedestal a little bit, Bendtner plays alright next to a small fast striker, Song is Song, Denilson should never play wide ever.
And the captain might actually enjoy his football again with LJW and Rambo to ping the ball around with.
November 25, 2008 at 10:01
Geoff – your comments are spot on as is your team although 244 where did that come from?
What concerns me is that so many fans will not accept that players like Almunia/Nic B/Ade are not going to win us anything and are not good enough to play in a top four side.
Funny how everyone was raving about Robhinos great goal against us – just look back to see Vela score two goals just like that – Vela is the real deal and how frustrating it must be for him to see Nic B playing ahead of him – if you ask AW (as I have) he will say we need some tall players to defend corners !
Great website
November 25, 2008 at 10:03
Cheers Raddy…. Been a while…. started to miss the banter with you guys.
Did anyone else recieve that e-mail from Wenger last night and think to themselves (as i did) ’stop all the fucking excuses’?
That e-mail stunk of fear to me
Geoff what’s going on? I just checked the previous couple of posts and you guys are averaging at over 1000 posts a day… how things have changed while i’ve been away… madness
November 25, 2008 at 10:05
Congrats Cesc on your appointment as Arsenal Captain!
Predicted Starting XI 4-5-1
Almunia
Djourou-Gallas-Silvestre-Clichy
Denilson
Wilshere-King Fab-Ramsey-Vela
van Persie
November 25, 2008 at 10:05
C’mon gooners, i think its fair to say most of us are happy about the captaincy issue ( maybe sans Gallas and his return) We have had a few really difficult days and have witnessed poor performances and hence there has been lots of negativity from the fans ,press alike. But now that the Manager has made a decision , lets try to let go of all our feelings and support ARSENAL today , not wenger’s squad or young players wearing pink boots , lets focus on ARSENAL . A good old win , three points , qualification and a good start to the Cesc Era.
Victory through Harmony , not only does this motto holds true for the current squad but for the supporters as well. We are not fans , we are supporters , Arsenal needs us , lets fo forth and stuff some chicken ala kiev !!
November 25, 2008 at 10:05
Thanks Mel and welcome aboard! I think if we changed our formation it would wrong foot the opposition.
And why is it always either 4-5-1, 4-4-2 or 4-3-3? In the 70’s it was 2-3-5 so that’s why I’ve gone for 2-4-4!
November 25, 2008 at 10:07
Goonerjay we have a chatroom now, somewhere people can feel safe and have fun!
Ali that’s why I wrote a rallying post my friend!
November 25, 2008 at 10:08
Welcome to Le Grove Nick V.
November 25, 2008 at 10:08
Mel….then he should sign some tall and robust defenders/defensive mid-fielders, and give Vela a chance, because to my mind, he is the best striker we have at the moment…..!
November 25, 2008 at 10:09
Kudos geoff , just carrying the good fight!
November 25, 2008 at 10:10
Morning Grovers, top notch Geoff, and yes, lets attack the Chicken Kiev and send them home well and truely roasted!!
Nikky B, dear old Nikky B – do those pink boots say left on the right boot and right on the left?? he is dreadful, and i dont want to say i told you so!!
(red card i fear)
I would love
Fab
Hoyte JD Toure/Silvestre Clichy
Nasri Cesc Diaby Rambo
Ade Vela/Simpson
If Nasri unfit, Merida or LJ
November 25, 2008 at 10:11
Hi Rico, I think Nasri, Diaby and Ade are all out.
November 25, 2008 at 10:12
Ahhh Rico you’re still around…. how comes you didn’t get the 1st post today? your slipping
November 25, 2008 at 10:13
Arse&Nose you just got yourself a yellow card, I thought you’d stopped all that. Read the post and you’ll see why, take a deep breath and start again.
November 25, 2008 at 10:14
rico .
Diaby and Nasri both unfit im afraid !
but hey we got Song!!
November 25, 2008 at 10:14
Martin, don’t be a smart arse.
November 25, 2008 at 10:14
If we had 8 players attacking the two banks of 4 that most teams play against us, it would certainly give them something to think about.
C’mon you Gunners. 4-0 tonight should make the 250 mile round trip worthwhile.
November 25, 2008 at 10:15
funny enough i found out abt Le-Grove from a blog that was bad mouthing Le-Grove!
Le-Grove Rocks!!
Anyway Wenger should drop Almunia now and play Fabianski !!
November 25, 2008 at 10:16
Afrix you rock too, welcome!
November 25, 2008 at 10:17
goonerjay those emails are shit, they are composed purely from Wenger’s comments at press conferences and post-match interviews, there is nothing exclusive about them, it’s just the usual lazy fare from the official site. Honestly that site is just a drain on Arsenal’s finances, they are the last to tell us anything and are always flogging some shit from their shop.
It makes it look like Wenger is still saying the same things yesterday that he did immediately post-match in the emotions of defeat. It actually paints him in a worse light! Nice work Arse.com, you fail.
I actually thought he looked a LOT more relaxed in yesterday’s press conference, he had the look of a man who knew that he had killed two birds with one stone. He was firm about the captaincy, he managed to protect Gallas from further attack and support him as a player, and also endorse Cesc as the new captain.
November 25, 2008 at 10:17
Thanks for that Geoff – I say lets see Vela and Simpson then? But not a hope i guess.
Interesting though, kind of forces Arsene’s hand, just hope and pray he doesnt play Song – If Cesc’s performances are anything to do with who he plays alongside side, at least now as Capt he can go to the boss and make his thoughts clear. Arsene will have to listen to him, lets hope Cesc says he doesnt want to be anywhere near Song..
Re that other blog stuff, I dont know how you and Pedro bite your tongue’s for so long, its just jealousy, he must hate the fact Le Grove attracts so many fans and posts so many comments daily. And we all love it
November 25, 2008 at 10:17
I see everyone is getting pumped up with wholesale changes tonight.
What did wengerloss say after the city game.he said he had belief in this team, city were lucky to win bla bla bla.
Same team tonight except for galles (Djorou out) and cesc for whoever.
He is a stubborn cunt and won’t make changes.if it’s nil nil after 70 minuts he might make a change, why would he do the opposite of what he has been cocking up all year.
November 25, 2008 at 10:18
we just have to wait and see,but am very confident that cesc will do a good job coz he loves arsenal and arsenal loves him,but we still need a partner for him DE ROSSI any takers….
November 25, 2008 at 10:19
maybe michaels inside info was right… anyone reckon cesc asked about signings when he gave him the armband?
November 25, 2008 at 10:19
gj, dont be so cheeky
when Le Grove posts i am usually either running the other half to work, or feeding an animal somewhere, its hard to cope with not fighting to be first…
November 25, 2008 at 10:19
Thanks Rico, when that twit gave it the big’un and had 5 comments, I felt I had to say something, all done now.
November 25, 2008 at 10:20
Arse & Nose. These prats ruin the blog for us. They write total bollocks and then waste my time posting it.
One of the main reasons Le Grove is so great, is that Geoff & Pedro police the site . The other is the brilliant Le Grove community. I for one do not want it polluted by dickheads like that guy yesterday.
And it is Geoff’s site, so if he gets pissed off that some chickenshit says he will slap Geoff, he has every right to defend himself.
November 25, 2008 at 10:21
Morning kelsey – mind your language
November 25, 2008 at 10:21

November 25, 2008 at 10:23
rico,
what’s wrong with wengerloss
November 25, 2008 at 10:24
You tell em Raddy
November 25, 2008 at 10:24
AAh shucks Geoff
November 25, 2008 at 10:24
Great post mate and good decision Arsene re Cesc
The winston churchill analogy above is well said although I am not sure about the other bit
So for Cesc one of Winstons quotes is
“The price of greatness is responsibility ”
I am sure Cesc can deliver on both fronts
See you later Geoff
November 25, 2008 at 10:26
One of this mornings rumours…..
Mark Hughes will step up his interest in Arsenal’s £8million-rated defender Kolo Toure as part of a defensive reshuffle in January
November 25, 2008 at 10:26
kelsey – thats funny
November 25, 2008 at 10:26
Was that really Mike the Neighbour, or an impersonator ?
His wife must be out the house !
November 25, 2008 at 10:27
Ade and Toure are out also rico, good morning, we have almost a whole team out injured! I will find the team I posted earlier today:
Szczesny
Eboue Sagna Toure Traore
Walcott Rosicky Diaby Nasri
Adebayor Eduardo
They are all out injured apart from Armand Traore who is on holiday on the south coast with Uncle Tony.
November 25, 2008 at 10:27
I know from experience that blogging has its good days and bad !
and to put up with stupid mutha fookers who would rather argue and use degrading words
that agree to disagree .. Some times enough is enough and you just have too use your bollocks
and give them a dose of there own medicine !
I agree that geoff is 100% correct to go after these fuckers and shut them down .
i mean its like doing a shit on Mr T’s door step ! and ringing the door bell !
go too it geoff ! dont forget your balls !!!!
November 25, 2008 at 10:28
Mike? You could be right there Raddy! Mike are you coming back?
November 25, 2008 at 10:29
Blimey Seb, thats a pretty good team that are injured…
Seriously, we have more than our fair share yet again, how many other teams would cope ?
November 25, 2008 at 10:29
Ethan, I salute you!
November 25, 2008 at 10:31
good analogy ethan re doorsteps
and then when these agitators come to shit on our doorsteps as well, Geoff and Pedro sweep it up and bin it before we have to open the door and tread in it.
So thank guys!
November 25, 2008 at 10:31
Geoff not so sure about your formation lol.
But i fully expect Kiev do have 10 men camped in the penalty box tonight so perhaps you are right.
I want to hammer these ukranian cunts tonight. We must get an early goal so kiev have to come out a wee bit. If we were 2 up after 20 mins then i could see kiev trying to go for it a little bit and we could knock a few past them which would cheer us up a bit after a really shite week. Vela and ramsey must play tonight though!!!! They are class players dont care how old they are…..if i was wenger i would play this team… bearing in mind sagna, toure, eboue, nasri, diaby are out.
Almunia/fabianski, doesnt matter i dont think neither will have very much to do tonight
JD—-Gallas—Silvestre—Clichy
Ramsey–Cesc(c)—denilson/coquelin—LJW
—-RVP———Vela——-
November 25, 2008 at 10:32
*thanks
November 25, 2008 at 10:32
dont know geoff haven’t seen him in any other blogs either, but he’ll pop out some time soon
November 25, 2008 at 10:33
Seb .
uncle Tony . I like it ! lol.
Oh the site of Uncle Tone waving his arms furiously to drive the boys on from the back .
and one of my faves , launching a cheeky young Milner into and through the advertising boards with a solid fierce tackle after Milner had the fucking cheek to foul
and backchat big Tone in a match against Leeds a few years back
Priceless !! Anyone remember that ? brilliant
November 25, 2008 at 10:36
le grove does exactly what it says on the tin….. i used to be into arseblog, but since it got bought out i feel that the quality has slipped somewhat…..its all swear words and obscure similies. the comments here are much more lively.
November 25, 2008 at 10:37
Off to see a man about a dog.
See you guys later for some pre-match banter….
November 25, 2008 at 10:38
Jules
As good as the majority of our players are/will be, we all agree that we need more players that can do what you just described TA6 doing!
Out of our current central defenders and defensive midfielders, the only one I could even imagine doing something like that is Johan – and he isn’t on the pitch often enough to do it -.-
rico – yes it makes you wonder doesn’t it, a lot of first teamers in that group.
November 25, 2008 at 10:38
We’ve got CESC FABREGAS!!!
We’ve got CESC FABREGAS!!!
I hope people don’t boo Gallas tonight. Sure he’s an idiot and acted childish. But it would have an affect on team.
This is what we don’t need!
What do people think?
I also think Merida will start tonight. Fab may have something to do with that.
November 25, 2008 at 10:38
Mind it doesnt bite you Raddy
November 25, 2008 at 10:38
Le-Grove is actually a good remedy for AKBcitis. Some fans actually feel like they have no right to have a different opinion to Arsene like he was David Koresh or something. I was once an AKB cos I reckoned Arsene was doing what he did cos we were skint but soon I discovered that we do have cash to spend and we were paying these lot too much I went into rehab in Le-Grove. I was reading articles on this site for about 9 good months before I decided to post my first comment. And now Im free from my disease.
November 25, 2008 at 10:39
ATom…~Im telling you, we WILL sign some 2-3 topclass players in Jan.
I cant wait to say I told you so!
In a nice way of course!
November 25, 2008 at 10:40
Excactly Seb .
A bit of Keown Adams and oh ah Ray Parlour is much needed at the moment .
November 25, 2008 at 10:42
I think Wenger will be open to Cesc’s opinion as to who we should be signing in Jan.
November 25, 2008 at 10:42
How do you know Micheal P ??
( sent in a hopefull non agressive/challenging manor 1)
November 25, 2008 at 10:42
GEOFF!!!!!!
November 25, 2008 at 10:42
michael… i actually believe you… its the only thing i have to cling to cos the idea of watching this bunch for the rest of the season could put me off football for life!!!
plus the fact i dont think even wenger could look at this squad and think they are good enough or will be good enough last year. if he did think that he wouldnt have been at the club until 12/1am on the last day of the transfer window!!
November 25, 2008 at 10:43
Atom….your faith will be repayed!!
I promise you!!!
Keep believing!!!
November 25, 2008 at 10:46
Coxy.
i agree with you i hope guys don’t boo gallas today he made a mistake to talk in public but i was glad he did because now i know what the problem is at arsenal it’s plain disunity and it sucks, you cant work with someone you hate.
p.s i supported what galls did at Birmingham last season it showed how he was really hurt by that penalty and the goal that followed
November 25, 2008 at 10:46
Gooner you were in moderation but you’re out now, I have no idea why. Franchise, re-hab, I like it!
November 25, 2008 at 10:46
I am ashamed to confess I WOZ an AKB.
I hope the whole stadium sings wild and loud tonight to back our boys.
Wilshere to start and THE ARSENAL to win 2-0.
November 25, 2008 at 10:46
hopefully we can look forward to a new beginning , cesc being captain .
all the Spanish rumors put too bed and the rest..
but with our injuries to key players we aint out
of the woods yet ..
but at least we have found a trail of bread crumbs !
November 25, 2008 at 10:47
michael… i reckon wenger will listen… he listened to henry to an extent and i think he has allot of time for cesc… he can see cesc’s struggling and the team is… unless he’s mental he has to buy atleast the no nonsense central midfielder we need.
i think gallas will go and will be replaced and i think we need another winger… a top class winger at that
November 25, 2008 at 10:47
Arsenalised I think people are so relieved that Cesc is the captain, I think they’ll cheer Gallas all night, I know I will.
November 25, 2008 at 10:48
Hmm, this is a little bit worrying, from a FourFourTwo interview with Cesc a little earlier in the season:
-Do you talk to the young lads now like Vieira used to talk to you?
-No, no, no. Me? I don’t do these things. I’m 21 – cannot do it! I would feel so bad to do it. I said to Jack, to Fran Merida, to Mark and all the young players, good luck and just be yourself. I can’t say anything else – I feel embarrassed.
An embarrassed captain! Well I just hope getting the armband will put paid to that, he is going to have to stand up and lead. I’m confident but I suppose time will tell. We know he has the ability to lead by example at any rate. Plus he won’t put his foot in his mouth during interviews, more importantly!
November 25, 2008 at 10:48
Mike P Wenger would rely more on the opinions of his scouts rather than Cesc. If he were going to sign a a Spanish national teammate then he would probably ask Cesc for inside info about the player more about their temperament, behaviour etc. If he were intersted in Cana would probably ask Nasri (ex MArseille) about the same nothing more. Wenger wouldnt rely on his player’s assessment of another player he intends to sign.
November 25, 2008 at 10:48
If Gallas leaves he needs to find an employer which will pay him £90k a week. No chance.
November 25, 2008 at 10:50
goonerman… he already said that he’d go to france for a year or 2 so he must be prepared for a wage cut to even think that… he’s made his money, its not like he’d be short a few quid!!
November 25, 2008 at 10:53
Goonerman there is notin to be ashamed of
Arsene Knows was so real at some point. I bet he knows that his current side need three players at least and that he needs to play the promising youngsters more often. Ramsey two mins in against City and he threads a fantastic ball for PlayBoy with Pink Boots Hefner sorry I meant Bendtner
November 25, 2008 at 10:54
as Geoff so rightly mentioned…swap Cana for Gallas!!
November 25, 2008 at 10:54
He probably thought he would do that after his contract at Arsenal; he left Chelsea for a number of reasons and one was he wanted a bigger pay packet (and respect). He likes to be respected, I think that was one of the reasons for his downfall from captain. He seems to be a bit of an authoratarian (how the f..k do you spell it).
November 25, 2008 at 10:55
ahhh what a nice morning, throats still horse
November 25, 2008 at 10:56
I have to say I don’t mind Myles, he can write well as equally crazy stuff but Piers Morgan and Arsenal should not be associated ever ever ever…. Watch how quickly he changes his mind when they win. I saw the 40/1 and am tempted. Not to promote gambling but does anyone have any good bets for end of year and next year?
November 25, 2008 at 10:56
Franchise – thank you I feel much better that you all know I was an AKB.
You never know tho I mite revert to type after we win the CL. ahem.
November 25, 2008 at 10:57
cant wait to see big willy G back bossin the defence
November 25, 2008 at 10:59
November 25, 2008 at 10:59
does anyone think the kids will respect gallas after the demotion and his outburst
November 25, 2008 at 11:00
Cana probably earns less than half of what Gallas earns so its not so straight forward.
November 25, 2008 at 11:00
arsenalised i think most of them will respect willy but i think theres a few who might read his book an think nahhh cant never be friends
November 25, 2008 at 11:01
to be fair lads… when your team wins the league without loosing playing the best football the country has ever seen its hard not to be AKB!!!
November 25, 2008 at 11:01
To be honest I look at Gallas and think of Chelsea. Yuk.
November 25, 2008 at 11:02
cana is rated at 15 million and i reckon he earns probably 50 60 a week, afterall they had to haggle with nasri a bit because the difference in wages wasnt a lot between epl an french
November 25, 2008 at 11:02
Goonerman you’re a Grover now so welcome to our world! Gallas for Cana …in a heartbeat.
November 25, 2008 at 11:02
CESC FOR CAPTAIN!!!!
YES WE CAN……http://gunnerblog.com/
November 25, 2008 at 11:03
AKB=ARSENE KNOWS BRIGADE?
November 25, 2008 at 11:04
i would swap denilson & 5 mill for cana or senderos or song or diaby, surely we can do business,i dont reckon willy will go to marseille
November 25, 2008 at 11:04
Si senor.
November 25, 2008 at 11:05
oui Bergkamp !
November 25, 2008 at 11:06
I might switch to an AKB if we beat, in no particular order; Burnley with our kids and Chelsea.
November 25, 2008 at 11:06
gallas for cana would be the best deal of the year
November 25, 2008 at 11:06
bergy 50 60 in French leaugue I doubt it. My estimate of 40k a week for Cana at L’OM should be one of the best contracts in the french league. Nasri should be on atmost 40k at Arsenal
November 25, 2008 at 11:08
I would be an AKB and rain abuse on Le-Grove if we win our next 20 in all Competitions. Geoff be scared
November 25, 2008 at 11:08
i reckon cesc must have had a word an got assurance he wouldnt be playing behind the most attacking holding midfielder in the world for much longer,if theres no movement in january or if they dont at least try something else i think we might struggle to even keep hold of cesc,i bet the have banned him from saying BARCA in public
November 25, 2008 at 11:09
Franchise so would I!
November 25, 2008 at 11:09
Hello Grovers and well done Geoff on another great post and rally cry.
I have just about recovered from the last abysmal performances. This is going to be a tough season for us and I think even AW has realised that he made an error of judgment in pre-season.
My question is will Willi Gallas recover from this and be the same player for us or will he go downhill and leave the club??
November 25, 2008 at 11:09
gallas and song for cana would be even better
November 25, 2008 at 11:10
franchise i dunno,he is club captain an a big fan favourite,he could have gone to madrid a year ago, wenger has even said that the french league players are on money suprising him , i still have a feeling arsenal might not rate cana that much to match his valuation never mind pay him 50 a week,i mean for 50-60 a week we would have kept flamini
November 25, 2008 at 11:10
if it was up to me i would ship out bedntner and song permanently, loan out denilson for a year, tell rvp if he wants 80k a week to contol his petulance first and prove he is worth it(and get a new hairstyle)tell ade that for a grand a minute the least i expect is a few goals and play randall, ramsey, wilshere, vela and simpson now.bring back traore in jan,and then re assess the situation.
November 25, 2008 at 11:12
nah we cant afford to lose gallas unless we get a new centre half, kolo looks finished to me, he needs a leader inthe defence,we gotta give djourou a proper trial before we let bill go
November 25, 2008 at 11:13
I think there are only 3 players at Arsenal that earn more than 50k a week. Gallas, Fabregas and Rosicky. I might be wrong though.
November 25, 2008 at 11:13
right about now even george boatang would be good in our team
November 25, 2008 at 11:14
clichy sagna also franchise, maybe kolo too, clichy an sag were on 65 whike ade was still on 30
November 25, 2008 at 11:15
Why should we be optimistic, Geoff?
November 25, 2008 at 11:15
bang on Kelsey.
song and bentner are nowhere near good enough and have had enough chances
November 25, 2008 at 11:16
someone once said song earns 35k a week an i choked on my rum an pepsi nearly, anyway yeah no wonder these guys love it on the arsenal bench,no one could afford to take song off our hands
November 25, 2008 at 11:17
Kelsey I totally agree with you. Thing is you can see Gallas is a great player, or was, but Song??? Who the fuck would want him, honestly can someone see anything in him?
November 25, 2008 at 11:18
It’s good to have some renewed hope, that the team will revive their form and the fact that Fabregas is so young, he could be a legendary captain, hopefully he’ll lead Arsenal to many trophies, and if there is one player in the
team that players can look to for guidance and leadership it is him. I expect a win against Kiev any win will do, even a scrappy one, the main thing is that we qualify and all 3 points tonight will be enough to do so.
Score prediction: Arsenal 3 Dynamo Kiev 0
November 25, 2008 at 11:18
If we can ,t get an Englisg c h like Upson , I would love to nick Martin Laursen
from Villa . he was excellent and no nonsense against us . would,nt mind Barry either !
those two and you are a serious outfit
November 25, 2008 at 11:18
the thing about bendtner i saw an interview with him the other week on international duty an he said he has been playing well,he definantly cant play up top alone an ade offers better support than van,so maybe if ade aint playin it aint worth playin bendtner
November 25, 2008 at 11:19
Geoff
erm………………….. NO !!
November 25, 2008 at 11:19
Kunle because we have it in us to beat Madrid and the Mancs with this team, we did, it’s the confidence and the selection that’s so bad at the moment, hopefully he’ll realise it tonight and on Sunday.
November 25, 2008 at 11:19
GEOFF song is a future galactico
November 25, 2008 at 11:19
Bergkamp I just got this from France Football the magazine As at last season 13 of the best paid 20 footballers were at Lyon
1 – Djibril Cissé – Marseille – €4.8m
2 – Pauleta -PSG – €4.6m

4 – Cris – Lyon – €4.2m
5 – Jerome Rothen – PSG – €4m
6 – Fabio Grosso – Lyon – €3.9m
7 – Sidney Govou – Lyon – €3.8m
8 – Karim Benzema – Lyon – €3.7m
9 – Gregory Coupet – Lyon – €3.6m
10 – Mario Yepes -PSG – Lyon – €3.4m

18 – Lucas Bernardi – Monaco – €2.4m
19 – Gael Givet – Marseille – €2.3Mm
20 – Anthony Réveillère – Lyon – €2.2m
November 25, 2008 at 11:20
if song gets 35k a week i deserve a fucking trial at arsenal
November 25, 2008 at 11:20
its the motivation of this team, thats the problem, they cant be fucked unless a billion people are tunin in their tv sets
November 25, 2008 at 11:20
He played well against Wigan in the Carling Cup Geoff, but he’s nothing special………that could change since football is football and every game is different but he’s not the cream of the crop, and there was a time when I had the belief that was essential to be an Arsenal player.
November 25, 2008 at 11:21
I dont think Clichy and Sagna earn that much Bergkamp. Toure might just be on the border same with Silvestre considering his meagre transfer fee.
November 25, 2008 at 11:22
franchise maybe he dont earn so great, maybe he just loves marseile, i just think cana is maybe too no nonsence for arsene
November 25, 2008 at 11:22
Geoff,i will frame that comment
November 25, 2008 at 11:23
He was okay against Wigan Finest but that was it, fuck, David Hillier had the odd good game for Arsenal, but I wouldn’t want him in my team, would you?
November 25, 2008 at 11:23
geoff at least HE can see something now he’s cut his dreadlocks off lol
November 25, 2008 at 11:23
A list of bloody good wages Franchise. Getting paid millions every year to play football……and some say it’s not enough…..
November 25, 2008 at 11:23
franchise hey both signed double their money deals in the summer clichy an sag, this was about the time the ade story was begining to build pace about the wages
November 25, 2008 at 11:23
i reckon
toure about 60k
sagna and clichy 35 ish
cesc 60
willy 70
ade 80 and soon to be RVP apparently
November 25, 2008 at 11:23
CAna is not on that list so i bet we could keep Gallas and still sign him
November 25, 2008 at 11:25
arsenal tom willy earns about 20k a week more than 70
November 25, 2008 at 11:25
Gallas gets 90k a week. Guardian said he was “fined two weeks wages for his outburst- £180,000″
November 25, 2008 at 11:26
Sorry guys i forgot to add Ade
November 25, 2008 at 11:26
so that’s 180k more in the transfer kitty!
November 25, 2008 at 11:26
I used to play at centre half cum sweeper in the old W formation and it always made for a high scoring game. I can’t see 2-4-4 being played though(ever). There’s no need to get worked up about other people’s opinions as surely we all love Arsenal but just view events differently. Vive la difference !
November 25, 2008 at 11:26
whys everyone suddenly going mad about cana?
i bet half of you have never seen him play a full game?
He looks good yes but erratic loves a challenge(something i like but doesnt work with the refs in our EPL), bringing him in at january hes got to apdate to the EPL? hes not going to play initialy?
Anyway whoever wenger brings in will be top notch.
Over the years the players Wengers had on his books to sign then we get beaten to the post buying them. That have turned into World Class Players. The list is endless
Rudd Van Neistroy
F Torress
Robino
Ribery
V Vart
P Cech
loads more
This is before they were all established and not known players.
just trust him.
November 25, 2008 at 11:26
gallas has to go… with cesc as captain we need a fresh start… get him out and replace him with the big nasty CB we’ve all been wanting… gallas arrival seems to have destroyed toure and wish slivestre and JD we’ll have 4 quality CB’s
November 25, 2008 at 11:27
I agree finest I would wear our shirt with pride for £100,000 a year
November 25, 2008 at 11:27
we will all just have to wait till january, dont get downbeat though if the window closes before anythings done,an dont be suprised if arsenal tease and tease an then you see wenger on the final evening at the reserves
November 25, 2008 at 11:27
chipo… no thats 180,000 more in the bank!!!
November 25, 2008 at 11:27
100k a year id fucking amputate my right arm an play for job seekers allowance money
November 25, 2008 at 11:28
Coxy I saw him at Anfield against L’Pool he was a dynamite. No one could get near him
November 25, 2008 at 11:28
nah all fines go to charitys, same as goal bonuses, they stuck to vieira’s tradition
November 25, 2008 at 11:29
I looked David Hillier up Geoff, at least Hillier won the title once, Song never has.
I don’t think anyone disagrees, Song is not what springs to mind when you think of Arsenal. He’s in the team off the back off his ACN and Olympic performances. He played an alright game against Sunderland last season, but we need other options, if Wenger is so determined to keep Song then at least bring in some competition for his place.
November 25, 2008 at 11:29
bergkamp… thats good to hear!!! no wonder ade’s stop scoring
November 25, 2008 at 11:30
haha tom he gets to choose his own charity, maybe he set one up,the ARP (ade’s right pocket)
November 25, 2008 at 11:31
hillier was a legend until he started selling coke to merse an tony adams wife,an also giving her a the odd bone
November 25, 2008 at 11:32
Coxy I saw every game Cana played in last season and this.
November 25, 2008 at 11:33
imagine if eboue started givin gallas’s wife the bone, forget the press gallas would go staight to sky news & CNN
November 25, 2008 at 11:35
Finest, who are you talking about?
November 25, 2008 at 11:36
look at this,he is definetly not going to barca
http://www.goal.com/en/news/1712/arsenal/2008/11/25/980614/cesc-fabregas-committed-to-arsenal-captaincy
November 25, 2008 at 11:37
david hillier nearly started playing basketball instead of football
November 25, 2008 at 11:40
campbell was on 90k a week 3 years ago,we miss him even now.stupid he got involved in a scandal and his emotions got the better of him a bit like gallas too emotional to be a captain.
November 25, 2008 at 11:40
Alt 164 = ñ Señor. I’m learning Spanish as well. Good post.
November 25, 2008 at 11:40
berg… probably… thats where the all the money he gave to togo during the summer came from!!
November 25, 2008 at 11:40
Gallas’ agent has come out saying he wont leave I hope he doesnt If he does that would be 2years + of Arsenal experience and 7 years premier league experience out the door. Taking the armband off him might be better for him. He would be out of the spot light
November 25, 2008 at 11:41
The 11:20 post? Song. I don’t think he’ll ever be a top class player. I rate both Senderos and Djourou as better defenders, and we don’t have an out and out defensive midfielder in the team as opposed to two last year. We have one in the youth team, Emmanuel Frimpong, I know it’s silly but I think his name sounds funny, but from what I’ve read he is an out and out defensive midfielder,, and very good too, but we need someone right now. Preferably someone from a Champions league team (not Bate Borisov but maybe CFR Cluj, they’re doing very well at the moment).
November 25, 2008 at 11:42
hi all,,
If only get Cana then we will be covered… this huy is an animal… i didnt know much about him but since i saw this clip and realised this what we are missing …
November 25, 2008 at 11:43
we need to sign someone aged about 27-28 so we can gradually break 18 year olds into the team an by the time he is 31-32 they can just fall into place if they take their chances
November 25, 2008 at 11:44
Wow Finest, a free thinker; I am genuinely impressed.
November 25, 2008 at 11:46
i bet we dont get cana and everton nab him and he’s awesome… the fact we all want this guy makes it even harder to believe we’ll get him!!
November 25, 2008 at 11:49
Heir Heir~
Just read your post Geoff!
Spot On! Enough Said…………….
November 25, 2008 at 11:50
A Tom I know Wenger is Mr. Exclusive. That why the press link us with everyone possible so that when he eventually signs one it might be one they have linked us with then they can say u heard it here first.
November 25, 2008 at 11:52
Midfielders of our future are imo
Cesc
Nasri
Ramsey
Wilshere
Coquelin
Merida
Traore
Bischoff
What we need now is just one quality signing to add to that list, one player 25+ who the others will fight tooth and nail to play alongside and who will inspire them all to bleed for the cause.
Btw I would love to put Abou Diaby in that list, he can be world class on his day, but he gets injured a lot plus the boss won’t play him centrally enough.
November 25, 2008 at 11:54
I Reckon arsenal wages per week
Alumunia £35K
Sagna £55K
Gallas £80K
Toure £45k
Silvestre £30K
Clichy £45K
Cesc £90k
Nasri £35K
Diaby £30k
Denilson £25K
Adebayor £80k
Van Persie £45K
Eduardo £45K
Rosickynote £50K
Bender £20K
Song £20K
Walcott £20K
Eboue £30K
Vela £15k
Ramsey £15K
can’t think anyone else, realistic wages per week i think, no wonder we have third higest wage bill in premier league, big money per week.
Prediction tonignt 2-0 le arse, up the gunners!
November 25, 2008 at 11:57
To be fair matey, we already play that formation to an extent. Sagna and Clichy bomb forward and so do our wingers. Our formation varies really. At times we’re playing 4-4-2, 4-2-4, 2-4-4 or 2-6-2.
Whilst change is needed in some areas, I’m not a big fan of tinkering with our formation. I think 4-4-2 works and we should stick with what’s not broken. I can see 2-4-4 working but only with our strongest squad, which we haven’t got atm.
To be fair, any formation will work if it has the right players. Our starting XI have shown what they can do with 4-4-2 and Arsene has played 4-4-2 for a long time now, I don’t see him changing it now.
November 25, 2008 at 11:57
Franchise, just had a look at the top 20 players in France thing
Nasri was not there.
November 25, 2008 at 11:57
Gunna Win makes sense ur list. Give me Ade’s weekly wage after tax for a year and I’ll be the nicest, calmest guy in the world
November 25, 2008 at 11:58
watching that cana clip its amazing… the guy spends more time on the floor than standing up! he could be another force in CM like paddy for us once he’d adapted to the pace and refs.. nobody would near him once they’d seen him in action
November 25, 2008 at 11:58
Gunna Win that adds up to £810k per week, but we spend over £100m a year on wages, that’s £2m a week! So think again my friend…
November 25, 2008 at 12:01
Afternoon all,
I’m going to be at the game tonight and, as I said yesterday, I’ll be passing through S & B around 6.30 if Geoff/Pedro/Bud or others are in I’ll be there to swap pre match nerves.
As for the outcome tonight – I can’t really say any more than the first 5minutes will show if the team are up for it or not. You’ll see them play at a high tempo and chase down loose balls and snap into tackles.
If not and we see the same casual, laid back attitude as against Hull and the last 5 minutes of the Spuds we could be in for a torrid night.
November 25, 2008 at 12:01
I know the only Marseille player there was Cisse. 13 others from Lyon. Reveillere or whatever he is called i.e. the 20th on that list earns roughly £36k a week if u convert Euros to pounds at todays rate and divide by 52.
November 25, 2008 at 12:03
just watched that cana vid, thats not the real cana, that is about 4 years of footage, you could make a better giles grimandi vid or even a cygan vid
November 25, 2008 at 12:03
Seb, I am curious, if Rosicky were to be fully fit and functioning in January do you think he would fit your call for an experienced 25+.
November 25, 2008 at 12:03
There are others like Fabianski, Senderos, Merida and other reserves on pro-contracts. Seb then youve got Arsene and his back room staff, the hospitality, board etc. It probably adds up Seb
November 25, 2008 at 12:04
Chary I know most of the guys will be there but I’m coming from a different direction tonight so I may not get there in time.
November 25, 2008 at 12:06
franchise… he seems to have lost that a bit recentely tho… sagna was pretty public, so was nasri, bischoff and ramsey… it has to be down to the fact that he’s doing it all himself and he’s tracked allot more than dein was
November 25, 2008 at 12:06
seb,you forgot all the training and medical staff i think in total is 34.
November 25, 2008 at 12:07
No worries Geoff – I’ll be there anyway as I’m meeting some old work chums there.
and possibly also a goon who’s of Ukranian descent – so she can probably cheer for both sides !
November 25, 2008 at 12:08
London, rosicky has been injured for so long he has probably forgotten how to play football so his experience counts for feck all
November 25, 2008 at 12:09
if we buy a dm in jan and he is injured an out for a month were back at square 1
November 25, 2008 at 12:11
the wage bill i reckon includes every last person who collects from the club, even the shop staff, the groundsmen, the stewards, every person who collects a payslip, probably 500 people
November 25, 2008 at 12:11
Talking of long term absentees, wasn’t Eddy supposed to be available soon ?
November 25, 2008 at 12:12
London, I hear you but it’s a big, no make that a MASSIVE if. Plus I don’t think Tomas is the kind of gritty player most people feel we need, he is quality without doubt, but a) he’s crocked and b) he’s a flair player.
Franchise, AW is on £6m a year I think? So that’s about £115k a week. With the players that still makes less than £1m. The rest of the staff are Pat Rice, Boro Primorac, Neil Banfield, Gerry Peyton, Tony Colbert, Colin Lewin, Dr Ian Beasley, David Wales, Neal Reynolds, John Kelly, Vic Akers, Paul Akers, Paul Johnson. Do you really think those 13 coaches are being paid over £1m a week between them? We are fucking muppets if they are imo.
My point is the players are probably getting a good deal more than Gunna Win has estimated.
November 25, 2008 at 12:12
hey guys best of luck fer tonight and ahead..and especially January
..see ya
November 25, 2008 at 12:13
My team for tonight. Kyav will try to play football so a DM is unnecessary. Bentner like to go wide and drift back so let him play wider than normal.
———–Almunia
Djourou, Gallas, Sylvestre, Clichy
———–Denilson
—–Ramsey——-Cesc
–RVP——Vela—-Bentner
Now this is what I think will happen
———–Almunia
Djourou, Gallas, Sylvestre, Clichy
——-Denilson—Song
————Cesc
–RVP——Vela—-Bentner
November 25, 2008 at 12:13

well fair play some of the rest of you for flagging up all the other staff at the club, I bet there are a shitload of other people, I will concede defeat!
As for the board, those fuckers don’t deserve a penny! Not until we actually spend some of that cash that’s sitting around
November 25, 2008 at 12:14
charybdis,
eddy plays his first game for the reserves in mid dec against spurs or a week later against pompey, according to the arse.web site.
rosicky is still nowhere near getting better and one can rule him out this season,if not forever.
November 25, 2008 at 12:15
197 Admin Staffs u could bet there are a few ppl in the admin like lawyers etc that are easily on 50k – 100k a year. Have 10 on 100k a year and thats another £1 million. Believe me it adds up
November 25, 2008 at 12:18

November 25, 2008 at 12:18
hahaha seb i dont think the board get wages, maybe just the general manager, their stocks go up an down thats about it
November 25, 2008 at 12:19
Thanks Kelsey, I seem to recall Wenger saying, about a month ago, that Eddy would be training with the first team “in 2 or 3 weeks” so I thought we could see him on the bench soon.
November 25, 2008 at 12:21
bergkamp I think they do submit a bill if they are actually doing work for the club, eg Ken Friar made a shitload last season because he was doing all the transfer business. I seem to remember reading that somewhere anyway.
November 25, 2008 at 12:22
their having a behind closed doors friendly in just over a week for eduardo, they will probably ask one of the oposition to clatter him a couple times just to get some structural confidence back inside him
November 25, 2008 at 12:23
they claim all bills back on the tax seb,see but other than that they dont pump money into the club or take out, peter hill wood works near me,il ask him whats goin down in january next time i see him
November 25, 2008 at 12:25
seb david dein used to earn i think it was 2.5 mill a year, that was his wage as director of football
November 25, 2008 at 12:26
haha ok mate you do that, and fair enough I’ll take your word on the money matters, it’s all beyond me anyway, I can only just about summon up the financial knowledge required to do my tax return!
November 25, 2008 at 12:26
but that was deins job, employed by arsenal as staff
November 25, 2008 at 12:27
bergkamp
This may be a silly question but does PHW have other business interests that he ahs to attend to aside from Arsenal?
November 25, 2008 at 12:27
this is how the rich get rich, they claim back everything, its the working class who spend all the money
November 25, 2008 at 12:28
Sorry to bore you guys but this is what the total Director’s Emoluments were
PD Hill Wood————————-£75,000
RCL Carr—————————–£25,000

KJ Friar OBE————————-£298,000
DD Fizman—————————-£25,000
Sir Chips Keswick———————£25,000

KG Edelman—————————£1,056,000
DB Dein————————————nada—
November 25, 2008 at 12:28
peter hill wood doesnt run arsenal,he is just a major shareholder, his main job is as a merchant banker at bank of tokyo mitsubishi ..London
November 25, 2008 at 12:29
It’s not that excesive
November 25, 2008 at 12:29
david dein run arsenal, kieth edelman was incharge of making arsenal rich strategically, thats why it wasnt beneficial to have him double off to sort out contracts an transfer negotiations,he was trained to make money only
November 25, 2008 at 12:30

November 25, 2008 at 12:32
peter hill wood is a powerful man up bishopsgate,if they told me go spend a month with peter i know id become a millionaire durin that time, for now il just stay off ill until i get that lucky
November 25, 2008 at 12:33
there we go I knew Ken Friar made a crapload last year!
cheers Franchise
and somehow I don’t think I’ll be reading through that pdf, I have better things to do, like counting the number of separate fibres in my carpet…
November 25, 2008 at 12:34
maybe ken friar got himself the new rolls royce phantom, maybe next year lady nina will update the jag

November 25, 2008 at 12:42

November 25, 2008 at 12:44
and he said dein was a madman for buying them at the time avenell
November 25, 2008 at 12:49
Hill Wood owns less than 1% of Arsenal..
November 25, 2008 at 12:50
Seb,
I love giving people abuse! i think its fantastic lol
Dont do it on le grove though lol
November 25, 2008 at 12:57
Great to read some the-glass-is-half-full stuff for a change. Thanks for that Geoff.
Not so sure about how new that 2-4-4 formation is though. In my opinion thats the way we’ve played for years. Freddie and Bobby for example made an habit of being out of position playing hide and seek with the op defenders and leaving their part of the field to Lauren & co.
Thats why wingbacks allover the world are getting smaller and smaller so they can be faster and faster to be back in time when needed. That’s also why Wenger, in my guess, refuses to buy a big CB. Since most teams now uses the Park-the-bus-tactic against Arsenal the Arsenal CB’s are doing alot of defending against counterattacks -running towards the own goal. So they have to be almost as fast as the wingbacks.
Which sadly gives us a team that can’t defend properly in a “regular game” when our attacking doesn’t work…
Anyway, this was a day for positive feelings, happiness, support and great victorys so I’ll stop moaning.
Great to se Fab as a Captain! Feels like an “at last” is in order despite his age.
Now lets kick some ukraine but!
November 25, 2008 at 12:57
save the link above in my last comment to favourites and check their comments section every day as i will continue the abuse on their blog until le grove gets an apology or they ban me from their blog lol
November 25, 2008 at 13:01
Hi Kenny, that wanker really has it bad doesn’t he! I read your link and he seems to be making a deal out of my including Sagna, if the twat could read, my post actually said ‘injuries permitting’
Anyway with your bit he actually got up to 5 comments today, he doesn’t realise he’s about the 10th blog to do what he’s doing, he thinks he’s original!
What a prick.
November 25, 2008 at 13:01
Kenny…. Far be it from me to tell you what to do…
But Le Grove is Geoff and Pedro’s and if they are happy for you to carry on, you carry on.. But I would ask there opinion first … No offence mate..
November 25, 2008 at 13:02
I can now understand why we would keep having wars and conflicts on earth Kenny. Arsenal fan blogs at war. What do we expect from the spuds then?
November 25, 2008 at 13:03
I want an effing DVD! I want it now!
Spurs already got a DVD this season! How else is success measured if not in DVDs published??
This is an honest blog as opposed to all the other lying ones, so someone of you good and honest people can surely tell if I will get my DVD anytime soon or NOW!!!!111!
November 25, 2008 at 13:04
I know it could never happen, but wouldn’t it be great if players wages were purely performance based.
There would have to be a ‘basic’ salary paid because not all squad players are going to get on the pitch, but over and above that, a percentage could come from the revenue from seats at the stadium and the rest made up from an ‘out of 10′ player rating from an independent adjudicator.
That way, the time out sick/injured might reduce, the level of commitment on the pitch would increase and the quality of football would improve to make sure that all the seats are filled in the stadium (I know we sell out the Emirates anyway)
November 25, 2008 at 13:05
Avenall, I think it’s funny, if Kenny didn’t comment on his blog, the poor sod wouldn’t have any comments on there! Give them a month and they’ll stop, then they’ll be another, then another, they don’t realise I see it as a compliment.
November 25, 2008 at 13:06
Michael if we win tonight I’ll do one, 3 consecutive years of qualifying!
November 25, 2008 at 13:07
If your happy with it Geoff then it’s fine… forget I said anything..
Carry on Kenny..
November 25, 2008 at 13:10
I want the Rise and Fall of Reginald Wenger if anyone has a copy on DVD…
November 25, 2008 at 13:13
Ha ha geoff he is a right twat….. im getting well stuck in over on his blog like. trying to offend as many people as i can until they apologise or i get banned. keep your eyes peeled at his blog throughout the day if you want a laugh
November 25, 2008 at 13:14
Dear Geoff,
I am sorry.
As you have worked out, I am just a student dick. I thought criticising your 1000 comment-a-day blog would be big and clever, and would maybe help me to kiss girls in nightclubs. I have realised it is neither, and won’t.
All I seem to have done is aggravate you and your tens of thousands of loyal readers, including some people who seem to know what’s what, like Kenny.
I wait on your forgiveness.
Grabber
November 25, 2008 at 13:17
There you go Kenny, the apology. Accepted.

November 25, 2008 at 13:26
Whats going on with the comments Geoff?
November 25, 2008 at 13:29
Hello everyone,
Nice read Geoff, congrats to Cesc i hope he will go on to be a captain we talk about in years to come. On your starting 11 Geoff did you know there was a team in the last century (don’t ask me when) that used to start with a regular 1-1-9 formation!! can you imagine the value for money you would get!! 90 minutes of pure entertainment!! A starting line up of
Fabianski
Gallas
Denilson
Ade Bentner eduardo RVP Theo Vela Cesc Nasri Wilshire
Refinements anyone??
By the way 3-0 to the Arsenal Nasri first scorer
November 25, 2008 at 13:29
Franchise you’ve been in moderation twice now and I have no idea why, sorry.
There’s no point in conversing with this guy he’s on the list, if you want to talk to him, go on his site, he has had 11 whole comments today and 5 of them are from Kenny, I expect he’s beside himself!
November 25, 2008 at 13:29
awwwww i was hoping it would take longer as i was rather enjoying this! lol
November 25, 2008 at 13:30
Jersey fuck me, I love that line up! love it!
November 25, 2008 at 13:30
did you see my last kenny ??
November 25, 2008 at 13:31
haha..that is hilarious Ras!
November 25, 2008 at 13:31
Never mind Kenny, you doubled his comments! Thanks for going into bat for Le Grove.
November 25, 2008 at 13:32
Hello
Bini & Arsenal Tom, I see You both love Cana. He is exactly what we need. But he would cost about 12-14 milion so I seriously doubt that tight Wenger will ge him. His own medicine is killing him. He thinks that the cheapier option is always better, but this season will show him that’s untrue. We will fail to qualify to next year’s CL and we will lose about 25 milion pounds( maybe even more). No one will want to play for Uefa cup team. This year will be difficult, but the next one will be even tougher. Just think, where we would be with Given, Cana, Zapata, and Arshavin.
November 25, 2008 at 13:34
Geoff but he has apologised or is that Sarcasm? he seems to use it a lot. I must admit the guy would get quite a few hits today cos we all find this whole episode intriguing.
November 25, 2008 at 13:34
Rico, a balanced and funny comment may I take this opportunity to thank you for your support too!
November 25, 2008 at 13:35
My pleaseure -I just couldnt help myself Geoff
November 25, 2008 at 13:35
Maciek..
I believe the team is good enough to make the top 4….we can. It is winning the league that concerns me…
November 25, 2008 at 13:35
Maciek the Cana lover how are you this afternoon?
November 25, 2008 at 13:37
Franchise he is a very silly boy and a sarcastic apology is an apology none the less, he should learn from it.
November 25, 2008 at 13:40
Geoff,
Ive read that man city have sorted out a deal for old dolphin head for £18m, did we have a sell on clause?
November 25, 2008 at 13:41
Let him enjoy his 5 mins of fame I think that is why he chose to make his own blog not cos he cares about reading other ppl’s views. The thing I hate about AKB’s Geoff is their anger. Someone makes a comment and they slash out like starved lionesses defending Wenger like they are obsessed with him. They are so u can take the ‘Like’ away
November 25, 2008 at 13:42
The Mancity game the ref was a real prick as well….Was is Richardson that American Football tackled R.V.P and not even a hint of a card?
November 25, 2008 at 13:43
Geoff; YOU HAVE MADE ME FEEL SOOOOOOOOOOO POSITIVE AND HAPPY, my heart is singing- Thank You!!!!!!
PS. I haven’t given up the League yet….. if we do buy in 3 World Class players in the January window, we will still have time to claw back points, and when the winning starts, other teams will back off; start panicking and Arsenal will get back that ” we ARE a great footballing team, we ARE the best and WIN!!!!! Anyway, that’s my beleif and positive thinking.
November 25, 2008 at 13:49
David
I respect Your view, but we can make the top 4 only if Wenger wakes up and buy a quality cd and cdm, and an attacking midfielder. The problem with our tim is one. They are not as good as we think they are. Denilson isn’t a dm, Silvestre is average and our strkers can’t create chances out of nothing. And Almunia is……………well, Almunia.
November 25, 2008 at 13:54
great site . best about people.
talk the most sense here :¬}
November 25, 2008 at 13:55
Hello Franchise! How are You?
I’m fine. I see we got few new faces here( JonJon, Bini), so Le Grove is bigger and bigger week by week, so it’s great. I started posting here about 11 days ago and I saw a lot of new faces here since then.
Cana lover-HAHAHAHAHA. Great. I think I’m Cana addicted. Maybe Canaddicted? Hahahah. Wenger will never make my wish. Sad but true.
Best wishes Franchise and all of You guys!
November 25, 2008 at 14:03
Franchise you are so right! Maciek that makes two of us my friend and Skandi, I live for making you feel so happy!
Andy C if we didn’t we are stupid, I said last January when Harry came sniffing make it a loan deal, but with Arsenal, they’re so bad when it comes to business nothing would surprise me.
November 25, 2008 at 14:04
helloooo grovers
November 25, 2008 at 14:05
Hey Raif, how’s it hanging!
November 25, 2008 at 14:07
Personally, I think Wenger did not “buy big” this summer because he wanted the likes of Diaby, Denilson, Song and a couple of other yougsters to come in to the first team and see how good they really are. Well, so far, Song has failed miserably, while Diaby has done ok (and considering he is 99% played out of position, Im surprised he hasnt moved on) and Denilson has come in for too much criticism, considering he too has been played out of position.
Wenger surely now sees that investment is needed in January…..
November 25, 2008 at 14:08
Skandi….im praying you’re right!!!
November 25, 2008 at 14:09
Michael right on all 3 counts, as far as Diaby is concerned, I think he could be as good as if not better than Paddy, who incidentally wasn’t played out of position in his day.
November 25, 2008 at 14:12
Michael P – I agree with you about the ‘playing out of position’ thing. It’s particularly annoying and unnecessary since in most cases we have had thhe personnel to cover all angles without asking players to adapt to a position they are not suited to. The end result has been that the team has lacked balance and the players have become dispirited.
November 25, 2008 at 14:13
Geoff
hi there mate. alls good. just ready and rearing to go for tonight
November 25, 2008 at 14:15
macieak,…. i think the times come where wenger has no choice but to spend serious money… previously we’ve had people to step up who were cheapest buys – cesc, ade etc but this time there is no one… we’ve exhausted all the options of finding a good partner next to cesc…
we either buy or we have to accept we have no real ambition
November 25, 2008 at 14:15
Geoff I agree about Diaby. I thot Wenger mentioned he was gonna prtner Cesc but he keeps playing him out of position
November 25, 2008 at 14:19
Which is best burger van? I use the one next to the Supporter’s Club. Seems OK but not that great.
November 25, 2008 at 14:24
Good afternoon Grovers!
I trust it’s been a good morning judging by the volume of comments!
Are we all feeling confident tonight?
November 25, 2008 at 14:24
Thanks Geoff!
You and Pedro are makeing a great job.I really appreciate Your hard work guys. It’s just fantastic to share opinions with people from the UK, USA, Portugal, Spain, Poland and all around the world. Also thanks for the warm welcome here. I did’t really expected that someone will answer me here, and since my first post, many people answerd my questions. It’s great, so once more, THANK YOU!
November 25, 2008 at 14:24
diaby is a CM and considering our new captain plays there it has to be time that he moves on !
he will never act as a defensive midfielder so unless cesc is injured i think there is no room in the team for him , he is crap on the wings and with ramsey and jack in the wings, diaby like eboue and song must move on surely !
November 25, 2008 at 14:25
franchise… i think the fact we have so many injuries means he hasnt had a good chance to do it… if theo and nasri stayed fit for a while while diaby was fit i think he’d have played more in the middle. nasri’s constant niggling injuries are starting to niggle me now
November 25, 2008 at 14:25
Goonerman
thats a funny question indeed.
i dont have a Fave one as i find them almost the same to be honest. but apart from the normal Burger vans there is a place called Curry in a Hurry (if you like a Indian).
its the houses along the same side of finsbury park mosque,
or of you carry on going towords Arsenal Station youll find a place that sells the biggest frankfurt sausages. Yum Yum
November 25, 2008 at 14:30
Hi Ethan!
Don’t You think Diaby’s biggest flaw is his versatilety? He can play in every position across our midfield, but he isn’t great as cdm and cm or winger?
November 25, 2008 at 14:30
pedro
hey pedro !
sure im always confident about the C.L , we seem to play better when we dont need to rely on consistency, when the focus is 1 isolated game every 2 weeks or more it seems the team is in the right mind set for big international games .. the problems we have is when they sit 10 men behind the goals and
get dirty , but refined teams in the C.L usually like to play football and not resort too lower half of the table EPL tactics . I think the big tests will come against lesser EPL sides ..
the chevs are always a consern , but again i think this chev’s game come at the worse possible time for them ! new captain , new team dynamics ..
we could have a few memorable games ahead !
it might make us forget the shockers we’ve recently had too witness !
November 25, 2008 at 14:32
Im alright Maciek thanks.
Re Diaby
I think he came back into the team from injury at a point when every game was already a must win and Wenger just chose to play persist with Denilson and cesc in the middle. The guy is very attack minded and he gives us a different kind of option to Cesc letting him leave would be stupid. We need more players coming in not leaving. If either of Alonso, Barry or Cana were signed in the summer Diaby would be my 3rd choice CM. Right now I believe he should partner Cesc and we should just play a bit more cautiously until they can gel.
November 25, 2008 at 14:32
maciaek… i think the problem is that wenger thinks he can play anywhere across the midfield when he cant! he was awful against city and is pretty ineffective on the left wing, its a shame its nasri and theo that seem to keep getting injuries rather denilson and song otherwise we might have seen him play his proper posistion
November 25, 2008 at 14:33
Maciek
his plaid almost everywhere apart from Centre midfield
Wenger has always either plaid him on the Wing or Behind the Striker for most of the games this season. he needs a Good run of games in the Centre of midfield before we can say if hes good there or not.
i think he can do the Job.. well better then Song and Dinilson at least
November 25, 2008 at 14:35
ETHAN… the problems we have is when they sit 10 men behind the goals
you seen one the latest titles on arsenal.com
‘Dynamo will allow Arsenal to attack them’
lol… another frustrating night!!!
November 25, 2008 at 14:35
Maciek the guy came to us as a rough diamond and as a result of long term injuries and lack of wide players he has been used like a whore across the midfield. He has shown the most promise when he played in the middle so I guess that is his position.
November 25, 2008 at 14:35
Good afternoon my fellow gooners, how are we all?
Interesting post Geoff, liked the formation, isnt that what we play anyway???
id ask you about the twit who slagged you off, but i dont want to waste valuable debate time!!!
I cant wait to see how Cesc handles it, it could be the making of him, big time.
November 25, 2008 at 14:36
maciek
hey, i think we have too many midfielders who already play out of position . and with merida- ramsey – jack
and who ever wenger brings in it might just be better too let him go …. i think he isnt versatile enough to play on the wings and he sure inst DM material .. i just think his options playing for us are limited .. he can operate in a 5 man midfield sure , but we have too many strikers for wenger too often go with a 4-5-1 , i still think our preferred formation is a 4-4-2 and for that reason he will only get frustrated sitting on the bench ..
we would be better served too get rid of him and spend the wages on a player who fits the bill …
November 25, 2008 at 14:41
raif; Its not a funny question really as having a burger at Highbury has always been a treat for me. I like Super kebab as well on Blackstock Road.
I’ll look out for the giant Frankfurters.
November 25, 2008 at 14:42
A tom
your right out of all the ones in our draw im sure chicken Kiev will possibly opt for those tactics . but they aren’t the crunching tacklers like some of the lower EPL teams .. they will still try and pass and create more than the stokes and fulhams . We will get chances , but will our inept strikers capitalize on them ? well thats another matter ..
we have injury woes thats for sure and unless the strikers like RVP or nasri has a blinder i cant see too many goals being scored .. i could be wrong but im sure it will be a game that at 2.45 am here
ill be doing more sleeping on the couch than watching the game ..
im going for 1- 0 nil in our favor ..
November 25, 2008 at 14:43
Afternoon Ethan!
I am sure I heard somewhere that Kiev are unbeaten on their travels in 17 games?
I’m hoping the return of Cesc will give us a lift! A new captain may also lift the cloud of doom surrounding the players!
I think the Chav game will be another season definer. Whilst I don’t think we’ll win the league… a good run from now till the new year could give us the needed push to have a good crack at the Champions league. If I remember correctly… the last time we were this bad in the league, we got to the final?
I reckon we’ll beat the chavs or at least get a draw!
November 25, 2008 at 14:45
I heard on the car radio that they have not lost for 17 games on their travels. I think i’ll check it ouy. Remarkable.
November 25, 2008 at 14:47
etan – I have the tiniest soft spot for Fulham; they play good football with plenty of passing.
November 25, 2008 at 14:47
Goonerman
no no i didnt mean laughing at ur question as im the same as you.
anytime i go to see the Arsenal i gotta go somewhere to eat. be it a Burger bar or a Chippy. and so on,.
i do like a large portion of chips with curry sauce yummy. or a Double Quarter Pounder
:p
November 25, 2008 at 14:48
Oh… regarding the kid who wrote a nasty story about us… just ignore him Grovers!
I remember other sites who took us on… 1979 gooner and Third Gen… how many people read their sites + how wrong were they?
That is all the vindication we need!
His IP address was from Cambridge university… so a student… only ever known Arsene Wenger… it’s no surprise he is an AKB. Feel sorry for him if anything…
November 25, 2008 at 14:48
I think we’ll destroy kiev, cesc has everything to prove and hopefully we’ll see the cesc of old, gallas has everything to prove, and without the extra burden of the captaincy, i think the tempremental frenchman will start being the defender he used to be.
November 25, 2008 at 14:48
Goonerman,
Being a veggie myself I would have no knowledge of burger vans, but you could try Pain D’or on the Blackstock Road, near the crossroads with Brownswood Road) – it’s a sandwich bar but you can get some interesting variations there as long as you are not in a hurry.
A;lthough I think the smells of the Burger vans adds to the pre match atmosphere I wouldn’t eat anything from those vans -except perhaps cheese and onion in a bap if I’m pushed.
November 25, 2008 at 14:50
Double quarter pounder at Arsenal; now your talking!!
In fact, my son goes to the Upper Tier food bar in the Emirates and swears by the quality of their burgers.
Lower tier don’t have them. Odd.
November 25, 2008 at 14:51
If Merida plays tonight it adds credence to the theory that Wenger is conducting a pop idol style dance off for the first team positions.
Gavin Hoyte on Sat, Fran tonight. He’s trying to find a nescafe style gold blend.
I always thought there was a niche for young Fran. A guy that lets the ball do the talking and can unleash a stroke from rough and catch a keeper unawares from far out angles.
We need someone like him. Ramsay is better of course but he seemed a bit inhaibited in the Fener game – content to give Cesc the ball all the time.
We need somone to shoot, and lefty who can shoot opens up angles for other things as well!
November 25, 2008 at 14:52
Geoff
‘I don’t believe it’s a cynical ploy to keep him this summer’
i do think there is a motive there ! i mean wenger can kill 2 birds with one stone !
make cesc swear his loyalty by offering the captaincy is just an added bonus , he is the only choice i suppose as a leader , but im sure there is that motive for giving cesc the captaincy .
i think wenger play’s the loyalty card when making this decision too .. just as much as appointing a new captain for disciplinary reasons to gallas . He can secure cesc’s un-dieing loyalty to the team and the red and white ..
but im in favor of it if it does make the lad stay or improve his game … but to not think that there was many motives for the appointment i would say is wrong ..
November 25, 2008 at 14:53
Charybdis – you sound like my wife re buying anything from food vans (I must quickly add its meant as a compliment as she is looking over my shoulder).
I’ll look out for Pain D’or.
November 25, 2008 at 14:55
Pedro,
re; the sites that take you on, im relatively new to all this blogging, but i know enough to know that this site is one of the best sites for arsenal fans around, if not THE best. the amount of comments you guys get each day is unrivaled. iv been reading it for months before i decided to start commenting, this site is like my holy grail. ha
surely its just an act of jelousy on the other sites who try put u down, they probably do it because they are bored and have no one to argue with on their own site.
November 25, 2008 at 14:56
Pedro
what ever the story was im sure its bollocks. but i did spear a sympathetic thought for the little nipper. im sure this a Mindless AKB Drone that hinges on every word he says
not to mention kissing his Arsene Wenger poster on his all good night every night.
November 25, 2008 at 14:59
Goonerman
yeah mate a Double quarter pounder is a must with the works.
tho id rather get mine from the burger Vans outside rather then inside the stadium. as they charge far to much in there i think
November 25, 2008 at 15:00
Thanks for responses guys.
JonJon- You say, we will trash Kiev, I respect Your view, but a midfield with Song, Denilson, and Diaby don’t give me much hope and enthusiasm. They arent creative enough. As for Diaby, he is unlucky, not only with his injury record, but also with fact that Ramsey, Cesc and Merida are better attack minded midfielders, and Nasri, Rosicky and Walcott are all better wingers then he. By the way, isn’t he too lazy on the pitch to play as cdm?
November 25, 2008 at 15:01
Cheers Jon Jon. I don’t know why he chose to pick on Le Grove… we’d never actively go our and slag another blog off… there is always too much going on with Arsenal to bother with all that!
Raif, you just have to accept that Arsene love is unconditional in some people…
So what’s all this noise about Merida starting? Really? That would be interesting!
November 25, 2008 at 15:02
keiv might have that record , but who do they usually play ?
this is a big stage for them ..
and as i usually say stats must stay in context ..
we are arsenal not some frost bitten Ukrainian 2nd string like FC Lviv,FC Kharkiv or Shakhtar..
they are just big noting themselves …
sure they are good enough to sit on top of there league table , but really us V’s them ..
Normally we should be wiping the floor with them !
and on this stage there stats mean Feck all !
November 25, 2008 at 15:03
Its weird how much I might resemble that guy that was mentioned in the post. I’m no AKB but there are resemblances. I have worked but not much(and im still looking), I still live at home and am in Uni but Im only 18 and Uni is around the corner.
But I dont insult people, I dont have a pencil dick, and I’ve never had a season ticket. But given my age and location can ye all please ever forgive me???
November 25, 2008 at 15:03
Oh and I also know there was life before Wenger!
November 25, 2008 at 15:04
rico yes i saw your last comment and im here now lol. in the midst of all this banter i have to actually do some work in a day lol.
Geoff its my pleasure to go into bat for le grove. I found it quite an enjoyable experience and tried to play with as straight a bat as i cud lol.
Yes i like cricket, i used to play for my village! i know thats weird cause im a jock but im a big fan of the England cricket team too!
November 25, 2008 at 15:04
Afternoon All, hey Chary, whats your favourite veggie sandwich ?
November 25, 2008 at 15:06
Pedro mate ill be happy to shoot down all the le grove picker oners in future. I love the banter and that upforgrabs site was just an unprovoked attack eh. Thats why i gave him pelters!!!! cunt!
November 25, 2008 at 15:06
Stu – you are a credit to the ‘kids’
November 25, 2008 at 15:06
I take it so Raif you don’t want Wegner as manager of Arsenal….
November 25, 2008 at 15:07
Afternoon. rico01 & kenny smith
November 25, 2008 at 15:07
Hi Maciek mate,
yes i know having song in the midfield doesnt do me much confidence either, but kiev will defend against us all game, song wont have to do much so he wont be tested, if our other players stand up to be counted, we can take them.
like i said, cesc and gallas have everything to prove, and i beleive they will turn it on.
song or no song, i think we’ll do it 2-0.
November 25, 2008 at 15:08
Mykhalyk wouldnt be a bad choice for our new DM !
ill be watching him tonight if a can stay awake
November 25, 2008 at 15:08
Much appreciated Rico. Means a lot.
November 25, 2008 at 15:09
Hi Raif – how you doing, cant wait for tonight roasting of the Chicken Kiev
November 25, 2008 at 15:09
Isnt Mikhalik a wide player. Either left or right. Dont think he is a DM. They sometimes play Yussuf DM.
November 25, 2008 at 15:10
Dohh Stu
November 25, 2008 at 15:11
Anyone have today’s squad yet?
November 25, 2008 at 15:11
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm chicken Kiev
November 25, 2008 at 15:12
Afternoon Rico – I like a simple brie and grape with cranberry sauce on wholemeal bread. Lovely – makes up for some of my jukn food habit.
November 25, 2008 at 15:12
Colonel Mustard
i didnt say i dont want Wenger to be the manager. what i would like is less of the lies and abit more honesty. and stop dancing around the facct of not buying anyone with how great our Kids are. WE AS ARSENAL FANS all know how “great” they are or can be.
but they will Never reach True Greatness with a lack of experience. or enough experienced heads to teach them the way.
November 25, 2008 at 15:13
Guys Vela hat trick put ur money on it. If u loose out i’ll reimburse u up to the tune of £0.06p
November 25, 2008 at 15:14
Seeing as we are home and that there is no other option Wilshere should definitely be a starter. He has shown enough to warrant a place in the XI. Same goes for Vela. Every1 else is just horribly off form and the “kids” deserve to show what they are made of.
November 25, 2008 at 15:15
rico01
hey hey im good thanks
and im ready and rearing for tonight im looking forword to a good atmosphere aswell.
and the Chicken Kiev comment has got me in stitches
LOL
November 25, 2008 at 15:16
Does the captain actually have any say in the transfer dealings of the club. If Cesc gets his say then Xabi will surely be on his way.
November 25, 2008 at 15:18
afternoon raif mate… i agree…. wenger needs to turn round and say “ok guys i fucked up”….. he has appointed cesc captain which is a good move….. buys a decent DM and CB in january and says ok guys i thought what i was doing with this squad was right and i fucked up so as a present have Yaya and van buyten and perhaps even podolski who i hear has put in a transfer request with bayern
November 25, 2008 at 15:19
Francise ill give a better return on a vela hat trick cause you can bet your arse wenger will play Bendtner and RVP up top!
November 25, 2008 at 15:20
Thanks for responses. I’m off for now, but since I don’t have any chance to watch today’s game, I will be back when our match will start. Till 8:45 pm.
November 25, 2008 at 15:22
Id peronally like to see LJW, Cesc, Rambo, Gibbs in the midfield with RVP and Vela upfront.
it has more balance than the team wenger will probably field with song bendtner and denilson
its a mixture of balance, creativity, speed, and most importantly passion. very young i know, but they couldnt do any worse than the shower weve seen in the last two games.
and if kiev are going to defend, lets start a team that can attack them from the first whistle and not mess about with the ball passing it from side to side all the time.
November 25, 2008 at 15:23
Stu,
do you mean alonso or xavi??
either way id love either of them, or even better the both of them
November 25, 2008 at 15:23
Was just browsing some other blogs and i went to “the gooner forums blog” and there is one post saying that Wenger should get the sack and there is literally 200+ comments calling the publisher all sorts of names. Its quite funny but at the same time ridiculas how many AKBs there are. I mean there is no argument towards the post, just all hurt-filled comments directed towards the publisher.
November 25, 2008 at 15:24
Thank fuck the game is on itv4 tonight!!! i dont have sky… just got a freeview box with a setanta card. However i dont get ITV1. cause i live in scotland its bloody STV which always shows the Celtic cunts games!!!
If Arsenal is on ITV1 im fucked and have to settle for that absolute cunt Alan Greens commentry on 5 live or the poor commentry on ATVO.
But since its on ITV4 i can watch it
:):)
November 25, 2008 at 15:25
Maciek… Hi mate..
Don’t forget the hour time difference,, and if you come on in 4 hours someone will post you a stream for you to watch the game on if your computer is up to it..
November 25, 2008 at 15:27
kenny u can watch it online
November 25, 2008 at 15:27
kenny smith
yeah his Insistence of doing things his way and no other is holding the club back i think
and because his so much of a stubborn person he wont move on a fee when he thinks a players worth X amount. i dont expect 30Mill a player as thats a waste but for odd one or two im sure we can make the exception by paying just that few million extra. just so we can have the quality we so need
November 25, 2008 at 15:27
JonJon, I mean Alonso as in XABI Alonso. We could never afford Xavi.
Also, the front 6 that you suggest is IMO far from balamced considering you chose 6 leftfooters. Van persie probably doesnt realise he can kick with his right and Vela just doesnt use his. Gibbs, although preferably a winger, is being moulded into a left back. And all those games in defence would have been fot nothing if he is moved forward again.
I do agree that LJW and Rambo should start though.
November 25, 2008 at 15:27
Avenell, thanks, I won’t forget about 1 hr differrence. Is 512 kb/s enough?
November 25, 2008 at 15:28
Hey avenall,
what are your predictions for the game mate??
November 25, 2008 at 15:30
Stu
Who would You bring to the Club in january, considering You would have been given 40-50 mln to spend and that You can sell?
November 25, 2008 at 15:31
JonJon’
i dont do predictions. i see it as a Bad Omen
November 25, 2008 at 15:36
Maciek… I’m too old to know that try this link
http://live-football-tv.blogspot.com/
JonJon tight game 1-0 we will take ages to break them down lack of confidence and trying too hard..
November 25, 2008 at 15:37
Stu, cheers mate,
i know they are all left footed, but the team we normally field are all right footed, apart from RVP and that still doesnt work
i meant balanced in the way of cesc and Rambo are both central mids, cecs like to pass and rambo likes to run and shoot. LJW is the creative dribbler and gibbs is a natural winger, up until this season he played most of his games as left wing and plus he has speed to burn. so has vela
RVP as link up man and Vela as finisher.
too many times this season weve played too many players out of position
diaby denilson on the wings bentdner RVP as strikers. Bendtner is also better as a link up man (2nd striker) so playing them together doesnt wotk and does nothing for our scoring chances. and playing four central midfielders in midfield doesnt work either, it means the midfield is totally unbalanced and we struggle every game we do it.
you need wingers to have another option.
November 25, 2008 at 15:38
Maciek I mean try now see if you pick up whats on now.. Game should be on later too.
November 25, 2008 at 15:38
Thanks Avenell. I’m of for now. Bye.
November 25, 2008 at 15:38
Well Maciek, given that there would be a massive reluctance of other clubs to sell its a tough question. I also doubt we would have anywhere near 40m. But off the top of my head I would try
IN:
: swap Gallas + 5m for Lorik Cana,
: Raul Albiol or Christian Zapata from Udinese,
: Obviously I’d go for Alonso.
OUT:
Song (free)
Eboue (juventus for anything)
Ade 20m+
Just buying those 3 players could easily cost 30m. and its unlikely that Alonso would leave pool for us in january. I would love to bring Huntelaar in too but i wont be holding my breath on that one.
November 25, 2008 at 15:39
bye maciek
November 25, 2008 at 15:41
Gallas + 5m for Cana Are we talking about a 20 million player here?
November 25, 2008 at 15:41
Afternoon Pedro/Geoff and Le Grover’s,
I’ve never understood why a fellow blogger would attack another. Suppose it makes them feel big and clever.
One thing I’ll say Geoff and Pedro, you both handled all the criticism leveled at you very well indeed. I don’t think I could have handled it as well as you two have.
I applaud you for it.
I’ll add another thing, don’t either of you change the way Le Grove is. You have both done an excellent job on this site. Look at how Le Grove has grown over the last year.
If my blog was half as good as this, I’d be happy.
November 25, 2008 at 15:42
Chary – great choice, I love Brie, one of my fav’s that is sold in our local pub is Warm Brie and mushroom – mme, yum yum
November 25, 2008 at 15:42
JonJon, i see what you mean but I still wouldnt chance that many left footers at the same time. Wilshere can hardly be considered a winger since he usually cuts infield to join in with the build-up. Walcott is the closest thing to a winger at the club and he doesnt even do that good of a job, even if he is always out of position.
November 25, 2008 at 15:43
Fuck off Wrighty…
November 25, 2008 at 15:44
Id Sell Ade song eboue and bendtner
and id bring in veloso cana afellay huntelaar
November 25, 2008 at 15:44
Franchise? Who are you talking about? Gallas or Cana as the 20m player?
November 25, 2008 at 15:45
Ok guys, Rico, I’m going to hit the road now to THOF.
I’ll see some of you at S & B in around 3 hours time.
Come on you gooners !!
November 25, 2008 at 15:47
Wrighty7
i think its down to Jelousy to be honest.
they look at Le-grove and see 500+ Comments. and then they look back at there own blog and they see a stupid number like 5 Comments.
thats going to wind them up big time with envy. as im sure they spend half there time refreshing the page hoping to find a new comment. but they find a big fat Nothing lol.
i tend to do alot of YouTube Videos before i got the baby news. and i got stick on the comments all the time. and most of the haters didnt have 1 Video to there name. or a single subscriber. it makes me laugh to be honest as there weak people
November 25, 2008 at 15:48
Wrighty….out of interest, who would make up your wish-list of 3 signings for the gunners in jan?
Btw….this Q is open to all!
November 25, 2008 at 15:48
Cana. At the worst a straight swap. Gallas is worth at least 15million so if u say plus £5 mill then Cana’s worth £20mill. Not at all Stu
November 25, 2008 at 15:48
No you fuck off Avenell
November 25, 2008 at 15:50
Raif,
You could be right there mate.
November 25, 2008 at 15:51
Great post today! I really hope we thrash Kiev. I’ve been reading this site since January or February, and finally decided to post. I live in the states and by the time I get a chance to read the blog most people are done posting. I must say this is one of the best arsenal blogs around, the posts are great and so is the community.
November 25, 2008 at 15:51
Stu
Walcotts a striker mate, wengers playing him out of position, thats why hes good 1 game and bad another, playing players out of position leads to inconsistencies.
the truth is we have no wingers at the club, thats why we struggle to break teams down alot when they sit with 10 men. we have nobody who can run at defenders whip in a cross or cut the ball back from the by line, our play is all through the middle and its easy to defend against.
LJW, could play wing easily, he likes to dribble and cant beat his man and the fact he likes to come inside means playing him RW is an advantage as it will allow him to shoot with his left,
Gibbs would be the pacey winger launching the crosses and LJW would be the creative winger beating his man and sending in the through balls an shots.
November 25, 2008 at 15:51
Hope its a good one for you Chary
November 25, 2008 at 15:51
Iv’e been looking for you at your place Wrighty,,
November 25, 2008 at 15:52
Micheal P,
Three signings?
Any price or player?
November 25, 2008 at 15:52
Franchise, I only say +5m bacuase all the other teams will realise that Gallas isnt wanted at arsenal anymore and that his market value will have fallen. And in the summer the OM president said he wanted about 20m to let cana go.
Im off. Stay classy Whales Vagina.
November 25, 2008 at 15:52
Yeah….well, as realistic as poss!
November 25, 2008 at 15:52
Hi wrighty mate how you doing?
November 25, 2008 at 15:52
Me off for a while, ’stuff’ to do, funny enough, i have to round up my two little chickens and feed the piggys… never a dull moment..
Heres to a great game, great result and CL next round secured
Be nice, and stay safe
November 25, 2008 at 15:53
I’m over here most of the time Avenell! Ha ha
November 25, 2008 at 15:53
Michael P
my 3 would be
1. Xabi Alonso
2. Matthew Upson
3. SWP
November 25, 2008 at 15:53
Jonjon,
I’m fine thank you mate. You?
November 25, 2008 at 15:54
Wrighty7
im telling you mate. im sure of it
November 25, 2008 at 15:55
Michael,
i made a list of sell 4 buy 4 earlier,
is that allowed??
November 25, 2008 at 15:56
My fantasy 3 would be
1. Mascherano
2. Vidic
3. Messi
November 25, 2008 at 15:58
Im good wrighty thanks,
looking forward to the new cesc era, if its true gallas wants to stay thats also good news, i think the burden of the skippership was too much, and he’ll be the defender we know he is now
November 25, 2008 at 15:58
jonjon…..thats fine!!
I would go with
1.Cana
2.Upson
3.Alonso
So….predictions for tonight….anyone know the starting 11??
November 25, 2008 at 15:59
Rico.. you made that sound like your feeding the piggies on chicken..
November 25, 2008 at 16:00
seaman
dixon adams keown winterburn
pires vieira cesc ljungberg
henry bergkamp
November 25, 2008 at 16:00
Avenel- thanks- it’s working.
Miachel P- my wish list include:
-Zapata,
-Cana,
-Arshavin,
I would also dropped Almunia and played Fabianski. Ok, now I’m really gone.
November 25, 2008 at 16:00
Micheal P,
My three signings would be;
I think first and foremost we need a partner for Cesc more than anything.
1) Alonso
I like Almunia but at the top level he just comes short in my eyes.
2) Cudacini (Mustard keeper)
Lastly, an attacking midfielder, who is just at home on either flank.
3) Ribery
I’ve tried being as realistic as possible mate!
November 25, 2008 at 16:02
Wrighty .. 1 set of pink boots in a team is enough!!
November 25, 2008 at 16:03
Out
Ade
Bendtner
Song
Eboue
IN
Cana
Veloso
Afellay
Huntelaar
If we dont sell gallas and we pair him with JD20, i think we have our perfect defensive pairing with them.
Afelleays the winger we miss
Cana and Veloso are the midfielders we miss, veloso can also play in defence
Huntelaar is the lethal striker we need.
November 25, 2008 at 16:03
Im voting for Wrighty to be our new chief scout!!!!
November 25, 2008 at 16:04
put denilson out aswell
November 25, 2008 at 16:04
BBK your wingers are the wrong way round mate
November 25, 2008 at 16:04
why the f**k didnt we sign Ribery!!!
we’ve been teased with his name for a few seasons now!!
November 25, 2008 at 16:04
I like ribery too wrighty but i think we missed the baot with him, he cost too much now.
November 25, 2008 at 16:04
veloso would be nothing in the prem like he already is in portugal
November 25, 2008 at 16:05
nah seb i like that formation
November 25, 2008 at 16:05
3 players…tough as I think quality is hard to come by, particularly in central defence.
1. Xabi Alonso.
2. Chris Samba (expecting some flack for that one but I’ve been impressed with him).
3. Rene Adler or Hugo Lloris
November 25, 2008 at 16:06
i was thinking the same about samba rhyle good call
November 25, 2008 at 16:06
Ribery hmmmmmm Wenger didnt sign that guy cos he reckoned he had that position covered with Hleb and Rosicky both havent featured all season for obvious reasons.
November 25, 2008 at 16:06
And i agree with you on almunia, good shot stopper but crap at crosses and positioning,
id like a new keeper but i think we should give fabianski a run to see if he can do it.
he comes for everything in the box
November 25, 2008 at 16:07
hes a giant which arsenal are missing big time
November 25, 2008 at 16:07
i dont agree about almunia being a good shot stopper far from it
November 25, 2008 at 16:08
BBK
have you seen veloso play??
hes class mate hes one of the reasons sporting are in the CL
November 25, 2008 at 16:08
no way i have seen him play and never been impressed one little bit
November 25, 2008 at 16:09
Avenell,
The way we have been playing lately it seems that pink boots would suit them all!
Bunch of over-paid softies!! LOL
November 25, 2008 at 16:09
BBK have you seen almunia play???
his shotstopping is his strength, its everything else thats his weakness
November 25, 2008 at 16:10
Micheal P,
Shall we write an e-mail to Arsenal and put my name forward?
November 25, 2008 at 16:10
Cheers Wrighty!
I have had no time to blog these last few days… fucking work making me work… how dare they!
November 25, 2008 at 16:11
Out
Gallas
Eboue
Song
Adebayor
RvP
In
Laursen (we missed the boat with Kompany)
Cana
Podolski
Villa
November 25, 2008 at 16:11
what happend against totnumb then or chelsea last season did not seem to good a shot stopping then
November 25, 2008 at 16:11
Sporting create the best youth players in portugal, ronaldo, nani are just a couple of names that spring to mind and now veloso and moutinho are their main assets
November 25, 2008 at 16:11
gunner8 why is denilson not in your list
November 25, 2008 at 16:12
Almunia is a good shot stopper but I don’t think he commands his defence and the area well enough.
He has improved so much though in his time at Arsenal.
Rico will hate me for this!
November 25, 2008 at 16:12
well there system seems to be failing them now ronaldo and nani are well above them in quality
November 25, 2008 at 16:13
almunia is crap dont rate him at all
November 25, 2008 at 16:14
Wrighty….just gimme the address to send to mate and it’s there.
Seriously….why can we see these things and wenger/arsenal (seemingly) cant???????
What do you think about the score tonight Wrighty?
U going to the game?
November 25, 2008 at 16:14
my top Fantasy 3
1 – Buffon
2 – Essian
3 – Ribery
November 25, 2008 at 16:14
Hi there Pedro,
Can’t believe that work is making you work. What a diabolical liberty!
Micheal P thinks I should be new chief scout at Arsenal. I’m thinking he’s right and I’m apply for the job.
November 25, 2008 at 16:14
Ribery in pink
http://www.footy-boots.com/bendtner-and-ribery-to-debut-berry-5389/
November 25, 2008 at 16:14
Yes Raif! They would slot in beautifully!!!!
November 25, 2008 at 16:15
His positioning and handling let him down, he gets to the ball from long shots but cant hold them its the same with crosses, he doesnt collect them cos he cant hold them, theres nothing wrong with his reflexes he gets to most of the shots at him from inside the box. its shots from outside the box and crosses he cant deal with, and thats down to positioning and handling
November 25, 2008 at 16:16
Franchise
Ribery’s head was turnd for the Money they was willing to offer him.
and also Bcos His best pal Henry was leaving
November 25, 2008 at 16:17
Michael P
if i had to pick one out of that 3 i have names i would go for Essien. the guy is a ENGINE
November 25, 2008 at 16:17
oh and bring back Traore and Senderos
Gattuso if Cana is impossible?
November 25, 2008 at 16:18
Sporting have no money BBK, they are like the Ajax of portugal, as soon as a talent comes along they are snapped up, teams like sporting have to sell to stay alive, but even after the sale of ronaldo and nani they are still in the CL 2nd in their group behind Barca, veloso and moutinho are the reasons they are there.
November 25, 2008 at 16:19
I’m not there tonight Micheal P
If we score an early goal I think we will win quite comfortably tonight. I really hope we come out all guns blazing. It infuriates me to see our lethargic starts sometimes!
November 25, 2008 at 16:19
ave – no chance of feeding the piggys chicken – honest, we are all veggies
catch you all later
November 25, 2008 at 16:19
kenny
stop fretting
try myp2p.eu or iraqgoals.com
ive only used the latter, but not too bad
November 25, 2008 at 16:20
Wrighty… who would you recommend we sign? In your professional opinion!
November 25, 2008 at 16:20
Bang on Raif.
I heard that as soon as Henry was leaving Arsenal it killed any chance of Ribery coming.
November 25, 2008 at 16:20
I have noticed lately that Almunia is a bit right handed and a lot of shots go in past his left.. When Bentley lobbed him he went with his right arm and failed to reach it..
November 25, 2008 at 16:22
BBN for the same reason Bendtner isn’t, it is not their fault they are thrust into an underperforming squad… …Bendtner recieves fuck all service for 3 games and is deemed shit, look at all the attacks that broke down in midfield! Denilson has potential but is too young… …would he have been as shit had he played alongside Viera, Pires, Ljungberg, Henry and Bergkamp??? No, wheras Song would have been… …more than anything I thing the players I mentioned would be the Bad Attitude Club and with them gone AW could begin the team building again!
November 25, 2008 at 16:23
yeah 3 dream players
Buffon for Almunia
Vidic for Gallas
Essienfor Song
Would be happy with that
November 25, 2008 at 16:23
Pedro,
Micheal P asked to name three REALISTIC signings.
I said,
We need a partner for Cesc first and foremost
1) Alonso
I like Almunia but I think he just falls at top level
2) Cudacini
An attacking midfielder, at home at either flank
3) Ribery
November 25, 2008 at 16:23
Raif we didnt bid for him. Wenger mentioned in an interview recently that he regrets not signing him and the reason he gave was that we had hleb and rosicky
November 25, 2008 at 16:24
Exactley avenall, hes all right hand
hulls goal, his left corner
sunderlands, left corner
spurs ,left corner
he cant get there ,his overall goalkeeping ability is average.
its not good enough, we need a new keeper but i think we should give fabianski a go 1st
November 25, 2008 at 16:26
Then the summer of the world cup in 2006 Marseille refused to sell. In 2007 he felt we were covered in the wide areas
November 25, 2008 at 16:27
Franchise
dont belive everything Wenger says mate!
November 25, 2008 at 16:27
wrighty7 for Arsenal Chief Scout!!!
Why not Pedro???
November 25, 2008 at 16:29
To anyone going to the game tonight….
Lets go fucking mental from the first whistle…back the boys and make Cescs debut as our new capitan a memorable night…..
COME ON!!!!!
November 25, 2008 at 16:32
Franchise
think about it. Wenger would never have come out and said “we bided for Ribery but he never wanted to come to us. or we missed out on him to another club.
the reson for that is Wenger would have to explain why Ribery didnt want to come.
Reason 1. we didnt offer him enough cash
and reason 2 Henry was going to leave us. and remember if he said that people would Know Henry already made the choice to leave long before the season had ended. it would look bad.
November 25, 2008 at 16:33
Pedro, i have a spare in the right end on Sunday for face value. First come first served,
November 25, 2008 at 16:34
Michael P

November 25, 2008 at 16:34
1.Cana
2.Chellini
3. david sliva/ribery
we’re pretty sorted for stikrer once vela is settled and eddie is back
November 25, 2008 at 16:34
Steve, PLEASE!
November 25, 2008 at 16:35
Wrighty7, I have a lot of time for your writings but if you can’t spell players names you lose credibility.
November 25, 2008 at 16:35

November 25, 2008 at 16:44
Pedro seems to have gone already Steve, I am sure he will send it to in the morning , but I am really interested, are you going to the match tonight as I could meet you near the ground?
November 25, 2008 at 16:45
Raif u might be right but also think about it
Wenger comes out and says that he regrets not signing Ribery
November 25, 2008 at 16:45
Thanks avenell,i’m stuck at home during the match
November 25, 2008 at 16:46
Franchise
thats wengers way of saying to Ribery that he made a mistake not joining us.
November 25, 2008 at 16:48
Morning Grovers.
So how does everyone think we will do today? My gut says we are going to win. Score 3 Nil to the Arsenal.
Predictions?
November 25, 2008 at 16:50
Franchise
as Ribery snubing us for Bayern means that Wenger didnt sign him. think about it
“hence he regrets not signing him.”
November 25, 2008 at 16:50
arsenal never keep clean sheets a draw tonight 0-0
November 25, 2008 at 16:50
0-1 lol my bad
November 25, 2008 at 16:50
BBK, a draw . . . no goals eh?
November 25, 2008 at 16:51
So we loose tonight BBK?
November 25, 2008 at 16:51
why would any player want to join arsenal at the moment
November 25, 2008 at 16:51
yes a loss tonite
November 25, 2008 at 16:52
Yes MAryland!
So are you back in the states?
Im in full agreement …..3-0 Gunners, Cesc to grab 1 and creat 1!!!
November 25, 2008 at 16:54
2 nil to the arse tonight – no problem. The Fab era begins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 25, 2008 at 16:55
you lot are in for a shock at the end of the season when there are o trophys and no cesc
November 25, 2008 at 16:55
what a poor decision making cesc captain bring back GALLAS
November 25, 2008 at 16:56
BBK . . . well, I do not share you pessimism. We will win. Cesc and Co. have something to prove, as does Gallas. I will go as far to say that I think we will beat Chelsea on Saturday.
Michael P., yes, I got home last week. London was absolutely amazing. We are already planning our trip back. I thought that my wife and I were the lucky combination for the first two wins (Man U. and Wigan), but realized we could not stay for the entire season.
3-0 to The Arsenal sounds like a good way to get this train back on track.
November 25, 2008 at 16:57
We should play gallas as striker at the weekend.. he’s bound to score against Chelski!!
November 25, 2008 at 16:58
BBN up to the usual? Blog clearer… …fuck it off to the grove now for a bit of drinking, screaming, delusion followed by depression!
COYG
at least I have never left before the final whistle!
November 25, 2008 at 16:58
lollll M.G what are u on beat chavs on sunday hahaha
November 25, 2008 at 16:58
BBK, are you new to le-Grove? You don’t sound like a Gooner. What do you mean “you lot are in for a shock at the end of the season when there are no trophies and no cesc?”
So how long have you followed Man Ure.?
November 25, 2008 at 16:59
Does anyone on here think that the true measure of a great team is the winner of the Champions League?
Don’t get me wrong, I’d love Arsenal to win it ( I actually think we will this season) but I’d much prefer the Premiership.
The Champions League is a lottery, the Premiership is week in week out.
November 25, 2008 at 16:59
same as me on a few occasions gunner8
November 25, 2008 at 16:59
no chance of the league as we all know champions league we always get beat by the english teams
November 25, 2008 at 17:00
I’m quietly confident of Arsenal beating Chelsea on sunday. 2-0 or 2-1 methinks..
November 25, 2008 at 17:01
with the defence we posses not alot will happen in the next 10 years maybe 17-18
November 25, 2008 at 17:01
wrighty7 good joke
November 25, 2008 at 17:01
Wrighty7
Winning the Premiership Back to Back.
then winning the CL
November 25, 2008 at 17:02
Wrighty, I think the CL is the mountain that every team wants to summit. As you noted, it does come down to the pick of the draw. If you pull Liverpool in the first round, it can be much more difficult than pulling FC Porto. It is a trophy that anyone in Europe can win, and only a few ever do.
I too want to see an EPL trophy. You want to win your league. I think either trophies would settle many of the concerns that exist today about our Gunners. Time will tell.
November 25, 2008 at 17:02
spot on raif something which arsenal have never done
November 25, 2008 at 17:03
or will with wenger in charge
November 25, 2008 at 17:04
BBK – have you heard of pessimism fatigue? It’s what you get after months of being down and despondant.
I’m tired of expecting the worst so I am going to see the appointmant of Cesc as a huge plus. If we win tonight and put on a good show against the chavs, I’ll remain optimistic.
If we finish 4th and have a chance to improve the squad over the summer with Cesc staying, I’ll remain optimistic. I don’t expect any trophies this season, but AW just might see the error of his ways and turn it round so we have fighting chance of trophies next season.
November 25, 2008 at 17:04
How are you BBK? Have you met Bergkamp yet? I want to see you 2 posting together.. Classic!
November 25, 2008 at 17:05
Wrighty, I see a Nasri goal and a RVP goal against Chelski. I think they will fancy their chances against us. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a few of the young lads getting a run out either tonight or on Saturday.
November 25, 2008 at 17:06
BBK, no joke son. I think a surprise is on at the Bridge.
Raif, How good would that be?
Maryland, The luck of the draw is crucial.
November 25, 2008 at 17:06
avenell im still angry as usuall hope your well tho
November 25, 2008 at 17:06
BBK, I agree with Rasputin . . . at this point, we have to start thinking with some optimism and hope. If not, we will all jump . . . and that’s not good for anyone.
November 25, 2008 at 17:07
lol wrighty7
November 25, 2008 at 17:07
we’ll win tonight.. new era begins …2-0
November 25, 2008 at 17:08
Wrighty, though when we made our run into the final of 2006, we could not have drawn a tougher lot. Though, we did miss out on the English teams. BBK is right on that point, as English teams seem to prove a challenge for us in the CL. Not sure why that is.
November 25, 2008 at 17:08
we beat man-u then go on a losing streak how can u gain any positivity from that making cesc captain will change nothing.
November 25, 2008 at 17:08
Maryland,
We go there with nothing to lose in my eyes. The title is over for us but we can beat the best on our day.
November 25, 2008 at 17:09
i can just imagine gallas’s face when cesc tell’s him to do something lol what a picture
November 25, 2008 at 17:10
Wrighty7
it would be amazing. we should have done it already. in all honesty but heay its somthing Arsenal has Never done and that Hurts me as i know we was good enough in the past to do it. but let other things in in the way and fuck us up.
as for the CL. i really think we would have Won it if the german didnt get sent off. Fucking Ref.
November 25, 2008 at 17:10
The reason why is because English teams play a pressure game against us. They know how to do it. The rest of Europe can’t play that way.
November 25, 2008 at 17:11
Raif,
There will be more chances to do it in the future mate.
November 25, 2008 at 17:11
avenell i agree mate… this should get it started….
BBK… do u rate RVP?
November 25, 2008 at 17:12
I’d love it if Cesc said “listen hear Billy, I want you to compete for defensive headers with the intention of making contact with the ball like all good CB’s, not just bumping into a striker in the hope of putting him off balance”
November 25, 2008 at 17:13
Next time I post here I will state: Stuffed the Chicken Kiev Bastards. Chelsea next.
November 25, 2008 at 17:14
“I hear you CAPI”…..
November 25, 2008 at 17:14
Wrighty….EPL is the true measure of a great team, the CL is more of a lottery when it comes to the draw etc, but I would say that it does mark out a great team…just look at the history books to see AC’s, Reals triumphs.
I have said this from the beginning…I truly feel the CL will be ours this year!!
Man, I miss the Invicibles so so so much….
Maryland…considering the luck you and the mrs brought us, i think you should consider moving over permanently!!!
November 25, 2008 at 17:14
winning the CL will depend on what we do in jan cos we’ll have to be able to compete with the best in england along with the best in europe… we’re not gonna do that with song, denilson and bentder in the team
November 25, 2008 at 17:15
tom please do not get me started on ROBIN VAN PUSSY
November 25, 2008 at 17:16
And I’ve had a few wagers with a couple of chav scum for the sunday game.
We will win 2-1 on sunday – no doubt!!
November 25, 2008 at 17:18
you just lost your money m.p you might aswell of burnt it or just went up to a stranger and said here you go have some money for free
November 25, 2008 at 17:19
BBK, if you look at companies when they flounder. Look at Apple. Steve Jobs started the company in the 1960’s. Built the first PC’s. Built the company up, and then they fired him. Apple hit the skids, and was in jepordy of filing Chapter 11. They brought back a great leader. And look where they are today.
I am not saying that Cesc is the end all be all for our issues, but I am saying that change can be a very good thing. Sometimes companies/teams, etc. just need a nudge in a new direction.
I think that Cesc leading the team out tonight is going to be a big deal. For all the right reasons.
November 25, 2008 at 17:19
Right im off to game lads. Lets play them off the park and make them feel like a bunch of Chicken Kiev’s
COME ONE YOU ARSENAL!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!
November 25, 2008 at 17:19
If the top clubs in Europe all played in 1 super league ….
Who do you think would be top 4????

Come on you GUNNERS!
November 25, 2008 at 17:20

BBK – how about you have a bet with M P?
If we win on Sunday, you have to post on this site “I am a grumpy old pessimistic sod and I have been unfaithfull to my beloved Arsenal”
, and If the chavs win M P has to post “Oh well, you can’t blame me for wanting and believing we could win because my love for the club won’t allow anything else”
November 25, 2008 at 17:21
raif, evening mate.talking about the cl final,do you remember who wengerloss took off when the mad graut got sent off.it was pire andthat was the worst mistake he could have made.bobby had another 2 years in him,and he isn’t doing badly at villareal now.
November 25, 2008 at 17:22
if u go by history
November 25, 2008 at 17:22
Good question Avenell…….Now fuck off!
1-Arsenal
2-Chelsea
3-Manchester United
4-Liverpool
November 25, 2008 at 17:23
i dont mind rasputin im game fella
November 25, 2008 at 17:23
You face the anger of BBK Wrighty!!!!!
November 25, 2008 at 17:25
ARGHHHHHHHHHH
November 25, 2008 at 17:25
i want my 4-4 raybans and dvd a.
November 25, 2008 at 17:26
Good man BBK – we love you really
November 25, 2008 at 17:28
thank you rasputin im touched
November 25, 2008 at 17:33
BBK, from your perspective, where do we (Arsenal) need to go from here? If Cesc isn’t the answer, then what is?
November 25, 2008 at 17:35
first of all taking it away from gallas was the wrong thing, cesc is going at the end of the season, buying a captain is the only option,
November 25, 2008 at 17:37
we need to find a few players that want to play for arsenal but with the way things are going who would want to come
November 25, 2008 at 17:37
Does anyone think we can actually win anything with this team, either this season or in the future???
November 25, 2008 at 17:37
plus cesc is too young
November 25, 2008 at 17:38
nope
November 25, 2008 at 17:39
this team will never get to the same heights as the past couple of teams
November 25, 2008 at 17:39
JonJon I would like to see the first team back together first, but with the injuries no way….
November 25, 2008 at 17:42
me neither BBK. i dont think bendtner song denilson are good enough and never will be. plus almunia isnt the keeper we need.
we have a load of overatted overpaid youngsters that should be offloaded and we have too many average players that play in the 1st team that need replacing before we can challenge for anything.
the closest we will come will be the CC
November 25, 2008 at 17:43
i totally agree jon jon cant argue wid that
November 25, 2008 at 17:43
Avenall even with rosicky and eddie back i still dont think we will be strong enough
November 25, 2008 at 17:44
hi
November 25, 2008 at 17:45
eddy will not be the same player as for rosicky who knows
November 25, 2008 at 17:48
Dont know about rosicky either, but i think eddie will be good again, larson did it at celtic, why cant eddie??
November 25, 2008 at 17:49
Still think we need another finisher though just in case.
November 25, 2008 at 17:49
Evening all
Seems to me the optimists are winning at the moment – long may it last.
I’m off to the game to shout for the Prince that is Cesc Fabregas
I’ve been singing his song all day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on Arsenal – make us proud.
See you all later xxx
November 25, 2008 at 17:49
JonJon… The players we have been slagging off would not normally make the first team, like Song and Bendtner. We have nine out again tonight don’t we?
We have never seen our best eleven play together yet, so it’s hard to judge..
November 25, 2008 at 17:49
you would have to put it down to who;s injury was the baddest and what sort of mental strength he has
November 25, 2008 at 17:50
JonJon and BBK – you won’t forget theres a game tnite will you
November 25, 2008 at 17:52
Rasputin….good call!! BBK…u up for that bet then???
BBK….man, get off them downers, they’re working a little too well!!
You are officially D&G- Doom&Gloom
JonJon- we’re gonna win the CC and the CL
November 25, 2008 at 17:52
i would go for klose he would be dangerous in the prem
November 25, 2008 at 17:52
P.G WHAT GAME
November 25, 2008 at 17:58
I know avenall, but even with them all fit i still feel we lack wingers and DMs and a GK
This is where the arguement of squad depth could be used, we dont have any.
I hope your right Michael, but i still think the CC is our best bet.
Unless wenger goes all out for the FA cup too.
the league has realistically gone. so why not go for the FA instead
November 25, 2008 at 18:00
Haha peaches,
ive been looking forward to it all day, i think we’ll trounce them
November 25, 2008 at 18:01
have you seen the team for tonite jonjon
November 25, 2008 at 18:01
if you thought saturday was bad wait till tonite
November 25, 2008 at 18:01
D&G…whats the team??
November 25, 2008 at 18:02
proper weak team tonight they will struggle badly
November 25, 2008 at 18:02
dont tell me songs in their BBK. whats the team mate
November 25, 2008 at 18:02
same as saturday but obviously no nasri or diaby
November 25, 2008 at 18:03
be more specific d&g
November 25, 2008 at 18:03
I have said this before though JonJon, We don’t play with wingers when everyone is fit.
Nasri will cut inside and let Sagna overlap creating width on the right, and Rosicky will do the same with Clichy on the left.
Then when Fabregas and Denilson go forward they will link with Rosicky and Nasri and we will be back to playing Wengerball like last year.
November 25, 2008 at 18:05
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
What does a player have to do to get dropped, if saturday wasnt dropping material for song and bendtner and denilson then what is. Why isnt Vela starting?? is Rambo starting???
Still think we’ll trounce em though.
WEVE GOT CESC FABREGAS!!!!
November 25, 2008 at 18:05
m.p i will not spoil it for you wait n see
November 25, 2008 at 18:06
Im off before the doom mongers get me down!
COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3-0 TONIGHT!!!!!!!
I’LL SEE YOU GROVERS TOMORROW!!
November 25, 2008 at 18:07
BBK….have a good one mate, tomorrow!
November 25, 2008 at 18:07
BBK….we still on for that bet???
November 25, 2008 at 18:07
m.p nice one m8
November 25, 2008 at 18:08
course we are
November 25, 2008 at 18:08
Avenall
point taken mate. We still need DM’s though. Wengerball or not we need some steel in there. dont thnk denilsons that man
November 25, 2008 at 18:14
JonJon… agreed that’s the weak spot Yaya or someone coming in January would be nice.
Also when we have everyone fit the subs will be .
Silvestre, Walcott (or play as a striker) Diaby, Eboue, Ramsey, Wilshere , Vela, Djourou,Bendtner Fabinaski…
Song wouldn’t even make the bench then we can stop moaning about a player who won’t be included in our best 20.
November 25, 2008 at 18:15
WENGERISM’S are out the window too…..don’t forget
November 25, 2008 at 18:15
Are we alone JonJon?..
November 25, 2008 at 18:19
Haha think BBK optimism scared them away.
November 25, 2008 at 18:22
later michael
November 25, 2008 at 18:25
Having a veggy quiche in pain d’or on blackstock road. What a hippy !
November 25, 2008 at 18:42
Hi guys
November 25, 2008 at 18:42
not overly happy with the team! Gallas back in centre back, djourou right back, midfield of ramsey cesc song denilson, vp and vela up top. Or maybe 4-5-1 with vp up front, vela left, ramsey right, cesc supporting? 4 centre mids!
November 25, 2008 at 18:48
where is everyone getting the team news from???
November 25, 2008 at 18:49
sky sports
November 25, 2008 at 18:54
glad vela and rambo are in. pist off songs in. does anyone know if its a 451 or a 442 or a 244 or a 235??????
November 25, 2008 at 18:55
wenger has got bad players in and let go of some experienced ones he has done all this on the cheap what he has thought of before making this mess i do not know but i do know tht trophy less this season then cesc, gallas, rvp, adebayor, some more will be on their way out the only way to solve it is to spend big in the jan tw or we can say bye bye to arsene and his young side,i really think it is timw for wenger to leave let someone like rednap come in(sorry i was waY OUT OF THE TOPIC)
November 25, 2008 at 18:55
He has to find a place for Denilson at all times it seems.
November 25, 2008 at 18:55
Its been great reading your posts lads. I am off now to pick the team and stick it up on the notice board.
November 25, 2008 at 18:56
Kenny mate i seen your comments yesterday on that twunts site.
your not quite the diplomat are you????
loved it mate, quality.
November 25, 2008 at 18:56
I my humble opinion, I don’t think that Arsene was overtly trying to keep Cesc with the captaincy, rather fill a major void on the squad . . .

It’s just a snippet of what passion he has, and I think that can make all the difference in the world.
November 25, 2008 at 18:58
Apart from Hoyte in a swap for Djourou, and drop Gallas for JD. I don’t feel too unhappy with the side considering what is available.
At least he has dropped Bendtner..
What about Song? I assume he is one of the CM..
November 25, 2008 at 18:58
I agree maryland, if cesc wanted to go he would of gone last year when his buddies left, but he stayed and you can see on the pitch that he loves the club.
he’ll go one day, but i cant see it yet.
November 25, 2008 at 19:00
Almunia
djorou gallas silvest clichy
denilson fab song ramsey
rvp vela…
good team i reckon.. what do you guys think?
November 25, 2008 at 19:00
its a side capable of beating kiev anyway avenall, at least JD vela and rambo start.
November 25, 2008 at 19:00
That is a great selection considering the injuries.
It’s certainly bold!
November 25, 2008 at 19:02
Good team choy, except for song, id have wilshere in. is denilson on the left tonight?? sky just showed the formation, i think either vela or rvp will go out there and allow denilson to play central
November 25, 2008 at 19:03
Im not so confident about tonights game. Im excited but not confident.
November 25, 2008 at 19:03
Looking forward to seeing Cesc lead the team out.
November 25, 2008 at 19:04
choy who is on the bench????
November 25, 2008 at 19:05
anyone think gallas and JD should swap positions, gallas knows the FB role better
November 25, 2008 at 19:11
bini
fab2
wilshere
nicklasss
gibbs
hoyte
merida
simpson
November 25, 2008 at 19:13
Well… in fairness, that line up is what everyone wanted… well, bar song!
November 25, 2008 at 19:15
I here you Jon Jon . Gallas is able to get forward better than JD
November 25, 2008 at 19:15
pedro .. you not at the game?
November 25, 2008 at 19:16
cheers choy….
I gues this the best team he can field…. I cant wait for vela to terrorise the Kiev defence…
November 25, 2008 at 19:16
fabianski, wilshere, bendtner, gibbs, simpson, hyote and merida are on the bench.
man, ramsey should be played on the right flank. other than that the team selection looks good after all the injuries.
November 25, 2008 at 19:18
There is really no hope for Song. Iv tried & tried to look for something positive in his game. There is fuck all. Nil Nothing.
November 25, 2008 at 19:18
not a problem at all bini.. please do go visit http://www.uefa.com if you don’t have streams and have to survive on text updates!!!
bbc.com is pretty useful aswell!!!
November 25, 2008 at 19:18
at least vela is playing. come on ramsey and vela!!!! and captain cesc!
November 25, 2008 at 19:20
i want to see wilshere instead of denilson/song but i guess you cant have everything. I was expecting worse.
anyone think the appointment of fab as captain has anything to do with the team selection
November 25, 2008 at 19:22
nah.. rohan.. injuries .. i think the only change wenger would have made if everyone was fit would be to drop nick…
November 25, 2008 at 19:23
Not tonight Choy!
I struggle to get to some of the Champs league games due to being slave driven!
November 25, 2008 at 19:24
choy, thanks… I will be heading to the next room to catch the kick off…
Hopefully we will se wilshere at some point….
November 25, 2008 at 19:24
There was nobody else but Fab for captain. Wengers move to make FAb captain takes the attention of us playing shite. But Im pleased he’s captain He has character.
November 25, 2008 at 19:26
lol pedro… haha at least geoff pays to see song tonight!!!
November 25, 2008 at 19:31

November 25, 2008 at 19:31
Come on Arsenal.. Finally the players who we want.. well most.
No excuses tonight – lets show the premier league and europe what we have to offer.
November 25, 2008 at 19:32
Gallas is happy!
November 25, 2008 at 19:32
evening kelsey.. i see vela scoring!
November 25, 2008 at 19:33
COME ON ARSENAL!! just saying hi before kick off
November 25, 2008 at 19:34
hello treze.. how long more people?
November 25, 2008 at 19:35
i think gallas must of opened his gob on purpose….. he seems very happy to not be the captain.. pressure must of been getting to him and thought fuck this but didnt want to ask wenger to strip him of the captaincy so put wenger in a position where he had to do it……. ok i know that is pretty far fetched but stranger things of happened lol
November 25, 2008 at 19:35
Hi treze…
Where’s maciek?
November 25, 2008 at 19:35
10 mins or so choy!!!! and WHAT A LINE UP!!!!!! (other than song i guess)
November 25, 2008 at 19:36
gallas 1st scorer, ha
November 25, 2008 at 19:38
come on Arsenal ! hoping to see Vela and Ramsey do what we all think they’re capable of! will Vela maybe drop to left wing? enjoy the match gents
November 25, 2008 at 19:44
maaaaaaaaaan!!! I have to survive on text updates from uefa.com . :@ not a single sports channel I have is showing the arsenal match live.
ramsey will score a blinder from outside the box. 1 goal to ramsey. second goal, vela, third one fab4.
November 25, 2008 at 19:44

November 25, 2008 at 19:57
Reasonable start.
Come on you Reds…………………….
November 25, 2008 at 19:59
Another Dick of a Ref.
Where do we find them ?
November 25, 2008 at 20:01
Nice break: looking more like … us!
November 25, 2008 at 20:06
SONG SUCKS
November 25, 2008 at 20:07
Has there been a shot yet ? This is dull with a capital D
November 25, 2008 at 20:08
Really good to hear the crowd singing William Gallas is our mate, that will do him a lot of good I would think. To have made himself available given the obvious disappointment he must have gone through, that is a big credit to him imo.
We seem to be threatening at least, if we can get the first goal we will fly I reckon.
November 25, 2008 at 20:10
We passing pretty well. Playing at pace atleast. No end product.
November 25, 2008 at 20:11
give this Song a space. The boy is just not the fastest but other than that he is not as bad as projected
November 25, 2008 at 20:11
we look nervous still, we need something to happen, a crunching tackle or a blistering shot or a goal to get us going
November 25, 2008 at 20:13
anyone have a stream
November 25, 2008 at 20:13
It’s great to hear the crowd period!
November 25, 2008 at 20:13
First shot. 28th min. and from a Kiev player.
Come on boys. More cutting edge please
November 25, 2008 at 20:14
Yeah, nice passing… not too much penetration.
November 25, 2008 at 20:15
Strangely the team looks a bit balanced!
November 25, 2008 at 20:15
Song hasn’t done anything wrong on the ball, but his tracking back is painfully slw
November 25, 2008 at 20:16
well shoot me for saying so but I just saw some excellent play on the break by both Song and Denilson
did I dream it…
November 25, 2008 at 20:16
Song must be the slowest player on the pitch, but he got in a tackle. Well played that man
Poor RvP is getting some stick
November 25, 2008 at 20:16
they are low on confidence however. It would need a goal to get them going. I think Vela will get the first goal.
November 25, 2008 at 20:18
kiev are gaining confidence in attack, song needs to do his job and marshall the midfield. they are ripping through us with ease
November 25, 2008 at 20:18
RvP deserves all the stick they can throw at him BR, he looks to be continuing his poor form at the moment. I’m beginning to wonder if the people who say he just doesn’t suit our style any more are right.
November 25, 2008 at 20:21
anyone has a stream please
November 25, 2008 at 20:21
iv always been a fan of RVP but iv always thought hes a player you want coming off the bench, hes more of an impact player, and theres too much liability playing him 90mins. he drifts in and out of games too much. when hes hot hes lethal but he blows cold too much
November 25, 2008 at 20:22
RVP up to his old tricks – can’t tackle, only fouls, wants 1 touch too many in shooting positions and doesn’t get in the danger areas, but hangs back waiting for rebounds.
November 25, 2008 at 20:22
anyone know where I can watch the game after it is over, at work right now.
November 25, 2008 at 20:24
need a goal before half time
November 25, 2008 at 20:25
why didnt he head that
November 25, 2008 at 20:25
Gallas, pllease no. Don’t score an own goal!
November 25, 2008 at 20:26
any streams guys
November 25, 2008 at 20:27
Jay would do just fine with Vela. RVP, should be subbed at half time imho
November 25, 2008 at 20:28
velas been our best player, hes all over the place, just worried about burnout
November 25, 2008 at 20:32
Usual placs for streams Guys
Myp2p

Iraqgoals
November 25, 2008 at 20:37
Playing Denilson on the left is just a joke. One moment summed up his crapness; Fabregas made a run beyond the full back and instead of releasing him and held onto the ball and played it too late. Dim-witted would be an understatement.
Ramsay ain’t cutting on the right. Not enough legs.
Overall a shit performance. I can see Kiev getting a goal in the second half if we don’t raise the tempo.
November 25, 2008 at 20:38
we are playing without that vital edge, same old diagonal balls, vela and rvp dont work together very well, have to say song isn’t playing too bad,we just lack that sparle, and aren’t troubling the kiev defence much.nice little one twos but to no effect.
November 25, 2008 at 20:39
Djorou doesn’t look comfy in that role RB. Possibly eboue still injured. We have lacked bite from the right. Loooks like the Dynamo manger has watched all our prem games and he is not giving any space in mid plus using counter attack option.
I would bring Jay for 45 mins and change RVP. Playing two left sided attackers is not really right for a team struggling to get their mojo back. RVP should have scored if he was right footed when Vela passed to him in the 18yard box. I would also bring Jack for 40 mins and change Dennilson.
November 25, 2008 at 20:39
Seb, we haven’t got a style. It’s just aimless passing at a snails pace.
November 25, 2008 at 20:39
take song and denilson off. LJW and simpson on. put rambo with cesc and put rvp and jack on the wings with simpson and vela up top.
November 25, 2008 at 20:39
suicidal sam… try this one

November 25, 2008 at 20:41
Why are we playing Ramsey and Denilson on the wings when we could have Vela and Wilshere? We are lacking width and it’s showing, no fluidity, it’s a tough slog tonight.
November 25, 2008 at 20:41
denilson is all over the place… i would say take off song and place him next Fab and get Jacky on the right & move Ramsey to left
November 25, 2008 at 20:43
We’re slow cos we haven’t god any width Paulinho, Denilson and Ramsey can’t control the flank, they keep getting blocked off, Kiev are effectively slowing us down.
November 25, 2008 at 20:44
Move ramsay to the centre. Take of Song & bring on Wilshire
November 25, 2008 at 20:45
Paulinho,
Agree they looked more dangerous than us in the attack. Not sure about Cesc’s game tonite. He has not really clicked for me.
November 25, 2008 at 20:46
theres not enough runners for cesc to pass to, the only one with movement is vela,
November 25, 2008 at 20:47
This stream is working lads..
http://www.justin.tv/lekynson3
I’m on ITV though!!
November 25, 2008 at 20:48
We gona win 1-0
November 25, 2008 at 20:51
Guys- if the match will end 0:0-will it be enough to make us through and to qualify?
November 25, 2008 at 20:52
maciek if porto beat fener yes
November 25, 2008 at 20:53
Finest, it’s not really about width. It’s just that the wide players are not comfortable receiving the ball under pressure and they just pass it back to the defenders. The wingers need to roll off the defenders, play it inside and spin off etc.
Also, when they cut in they are not making enough penetrative runs and in position to receive the ball off the c.midfielders.
Our full backs have always been our width but if the wide players don’t do their job then there is no space for the full backs to run into.
November 25, 2008 at 20:53
songs absolute garbage
November 25, 2008 at 20:54
did you see that song moment????
November 25, 2008 at 20:57
Blurred stream… try it!!
http://www.justin.tv/ahlysc
November 25, 2008 at 20:58
RVP seems to be suffering from last season’s too scared to shoot syndrome.
November 25, 2008 at 21:02
This is the sort of game we would have won in our sleep last year.
November 25, 2008 at 21:03
I think they are playing better than us this half. Sadly our manager seems confused too.
November 25, 2008 at 21:04
take song off NOW
almunia’s hair has gone grey !!!!!
November 25, 2008 at 21:05
the invinsibles would turn in their grave watching this
November 25, 2008 at 21:06
It’s embarassing what a mess Wenger has made of this team.
November 25, 2008 at 21:07
song should never play football again. for any team.
November 25, 2008 at 21:07
There are three creativity sponges in this team, ie they soak up creativity rather than increase it – Denilson Van Persie and Song.
Wilshere for Denilson would be my choice of sub soon, then Bendtner for Song. Ramsey has got the legs to cover defensively while we push for a winner.
November 25, 2008 at 21:07
Our Best Player: Vela
Struggling : Rest of the park
Worst; Dennilson
November 25, 2008 at 21:07
Enough of these negative vibes.
We are not losing FFS. And I think we are playing OK
November 25, 2008 at 21:08
Seems like a pattern. The next thing to happen is a Dinamo goal!.
November 25, 2008 at 21:08
We will probably win it, but even if we qualify, if Wenger dosn’t sort thing up, we will be knocked out in the last 16. We have got many average players: Almunia, Song, Denilson, Silvestre,Diaby, and so on. Lets face it-if You pay for rubbish players- You got rubbish results. You got what You pay for.
November 25, 2008 at 21:09
What this team needs is some pink boots…. oh thank god, here comes Nikki B!
-.-
November 25, 2008 at 21:10
You can’t win anything with Song and Denilson in your midfield. And I blame Wenger for this.
November 25, 2008 at 21:10
we can still win it if wenger makes the right changes,
November 25, 2008 at 21:11
WTF is wenger doing, take song off
November 25, 2008 at 21:11
WTF? Is he watching the same game?
November 25, 2008 at 21:11
And we are missing a number of first team players.
Ramsey had a fair game. Nothing too fancy, but efficient
November 25, 2008 at 21:13
wenger suckssss big time… one of the player that was creating get taken off and he leaves denilson & song….
November 25, 2008 at 21:14
I actually agree BR it could be a lot worse…
*crosses himself to avoid a jinx*
We haven’t conceded and we just lack a little creativity and movement up front. We are missing Ade and/or Eduardo who both play at the point.
November 25, 2008 at 21:15
if we lose this game we will be in big shit… domestically & in europ….wenger has lost the plot…..
November 25, 2008 at 21:16
Anfd Theo Seb. We are lacking width. Nothing coming down the right
November 25, 2008 at 21:17
Jesus.. three games without scoring…
November 25, 2008 at 21:17
pinky and van perky
November 25, 2008 at 21:17
We sooooo miss Ade
November 25, 2008 at 21:17
Wilshere
November 25, 2008 at 21:18
any chance of one of these 50k a week players shooting
November 25, 2008 at 21:18
Fine joke Kelsey !
November 25, 2008 at 21:18
at last LJW, song has to go off
November 25, 2008 at 21:18
come on LJ make something happen
November 25, 2008 at 21:19
WTF??????
November 25, 2008 at 21:19
NOw that is a silly substitution
November 25, 2008 at 21:20
lol.. we are depending on a 16 yr old to win us a game.. we have become a joke !!!
November 25, 2008 at 21:20
we have some serious problems
November 25, 2008 at 21:21
Big,
They are having the better chances, plus they are policing the mid and marking out our fowards. Now how does AW react.? Bring Bent on and remove our best player. He brought Wilshire though.
November 25, 2008 at 21:21
Come on Choy, we have all been asking to see LJW
November 25, 2008 at 21:21
Wilshire on for…. Vela!
I think we have found the new Untouchables: Song and Denilson! They would need to have a cardiac arrest to get subbed off :/
and well played Manuel
November 25, 2008 at 21:23
Song is poor, Nik should have thrown his body at VP’s cross -
Get bigger Pinkies NIK!!!
November 25, 2008 at 21:24
BR.. we are relying on a 16yr old!! it would be great to have him on at 3-0 or something but at 0-0 we bring on a 16yr old to win us a game? I am not having a dig at him… just mr. arsene wenger!
November 25, 2008 at 21:24
i dont understand, why take one of your best players on the night off when the two shittest ones are still on the pitch????
November 25, 2008 at 21:25
Great save – phew!
November 25, 2008 at 21:26
no proper shot on goal in like 4 games that is serious. The last 4 GK of the opposition teams we have played have been on holiday
November 25, 2008 at 21:26
Jon – its because we have nothing in reserve, well we do, but they are playing!!
November 25, 2008 at 21:27
How about we buy their bald CH ??
November 25, 2008 at 21:27
what does a player have to do to get dropped???? why cant song and denilson be amongst the players who get injured for years at a time. cos thats the only way they wont play. im astounded
November 25, 2008 at 21:27
I finally give up on Song!!! Send him to play in a slow league – italy.
November 25, 2008 at 21:28
Flippin heck, another injury i fear!
November 25, 2008 at 21:28
pinky
November 25, 2008 at 21:28
PINKIE !!!!! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
November 25, 2008 at 21:28
Get in there
November 25, 2008 at 21:28
about fucking time he scored.
November 25, 2008 at 21:28
Thank you for that Nik…
November 25, 2008 at 21:29
pinkieeeeeeee
November 25, 2008 at 21:29
Hand Ball by Nik ???
November 25, 2008 at 21:29
Never in doubt
November 25, 2008 at 21:29
PINK IS THE NEW BLACK
November 25, 2008 at 21:29
pink boots!!!!!
November 25, 2008 at 21:29
Pink boot scores and redeems himself. Impact player. One goal in 3 matches. Not bad
November 25, 2008 at 21:29
yaaaaaaaaay bendtnerrrrrrrrr
November 25, 2008 at 21:30
hell yeah
November 25, 2008 at 21:30
we still need to keep a clean sheet though
November 25, 2008 at 21:30
That will do him the world of good – And i really hope so
November 25, 2008 at 21:30
get off haha
November 25, 2008 at 21:31
Now let’s see if Song and Denilson can earn their right to still be on the pitch…
November 25, 2008 at 21:31
is that not the ‘cheat’ earlier, re what you sow
November 25, 2008 at 21:32
yes rico what goes around comes around
November 25, 2008 at 21:33
That is why I rate him… he was never a bad player, he was just low on confidence. I still hate those bastard boots…
November 25, 2008 at 21:33
So we all like ‘Pinkie’ then
November 25, 2008 at 21:33
If I was a Kiev fan, I would be furious with this ref. How was thst a booking?
And our goal was well dodgy – moving ball from free kick, and Fab touched the ball twice
November 25, 2008 at 21:33
first player ever to score a goal with pink boots
November 25, 2008 at 21:34
Raddy, I thought Nik hand balled it aswell, as he tried to chest it down
November 25, 2008 at 21:34
He saw red for being a cunt BR, pure and simple
November 25, 2008 at 21:35
actually he miscontrolled the ball, the ball bounced off his knee before he shot,oh who cares.
November 25, 2008 at 21:35
it still wasnt the best performance ever but the points in the bag non the less
November 25, 2008 at 21:36
No. It wasn’t handball, it was a fine finish. Adebayoresque
November 25, 2008 at 21:37
We are through, now go out in January Arsene and bolster this squad.
Not convincing, but we have done the job tonight, just
Song & Denilson – sorry, but they are just not good enough, Denilson might be ‘one day’, Song never will imho
Night nite all
November 25, 2008 at 21:37
Fair play Seb
November 25, 2008 at 21:37
I guess the question now is who do we want to face in the next round?
November 25, 2008 at 21:37
did anyone notice clichy becoming more vocal and looking more like a leader? is he vice-captain by any chance
November 25, 2008 at 21:37
Gee, Bendtner has done what Ade has failed to do since Derby at home last year. Take a long ball down from Fabregas and fire home.
If he can get his head screwed on he offers us more than Ade.
Wilshere’s into perked everyone up.
November 25, 2008 at 21:38
gallas looked totally pissed off when he walked off.
November 25, 2008 at 21:39
Raddy, I honestly thought it he used his arm, but I am glad he didnt, must be my not so 20 20 vision
November 25, 2008 at 21:40
A narrow victory, but a victory nevertheless, we’re through to th KO stages, feels like we made it by the skin of our teeth.
November 25, 2008 at 21:40
that will do for my week………. NOW BRING ON THE CHAVS…
November 25, 2008 at 21:41
yeah i agree paulinho, wilshere’s arrival seemed to add a spark to our play, bit of zip. Great goal from bendtner, disgusting that the crowd still got on his back a second afterwards when cesc did a bad pass to him, worried me the fans won’t ever let him fulfil his potential at the emirates. Decent enough performance, we only needed a 0-0 draw so were concentrating more on being solid most of the time
November 25, 2008 at 21:42
Guess the result was all important. If Song was in the best tournament XI of the 2008 ANC … makes you wonder what the rest were like!
November 25, 2008 at 21:42
hat off to gallas apart that doggy mistake in 1st half he did a decent job….
November 25, 2008 at 21:44
rico i disagree completely regarding denilson, he was very solid today and did some very nice stuff. Song was absolutely attrocious though! I think he could be a good player at a different premiership club, or abroad, but with the tempo we like to play he’ll never be good enough on the ball at arsenal, similar to the beast in that respect.
Ramsey still hasn’t got up to the pace of our play either, though his touch is much better. He takes a split second longer than he should to do everything everytime he gets the ball, it will come though he’s not far away. Shows why he hasn’t be used yet though, he’s certainly not ready to start regularly.
November 25, 2008 at 21:45
trindle… song had a very good game at ANC and at the start of the season every one was looking forward to his come back from the Olympics… the sad thing is he has not transferred his game to arsenal….
November 25, 2008 at 21:45
Did gallas immediately walk of the pitch after the game?
November 25, 2008 at 21:45
Did we Finest ? I never felt we were in trouble. We didn’t play brilliantly, but we were clearly lacking confidence, and more to the point width.
Djorou showed that he is no full back, but had a good game
Song ………….. why ? ?
And I do not understangd the criticism of Denilson. He was played totally out of position, and IMHO had an OK game until switching wings. He is no winger.
Great to see Fab trying his long passes again.
November 25, 2008 at 21:45
OK, we were pretty standard today, nothing great, but got the points.
Song was awful again, Denilson wasn’t much better, so no change there then. Vela was good, he ran the channels well, which impressed me. Van Persie was more involved, Bendtner looked like a man on a mission for like 20mins, he has to score those more though. Glad to see him score, he needs it. Ramsey and Fabregas played like men today, Fabregas looked like a capo today, which bodes pretty well.
Djourou had a good game, he needs to play central though, Gallas looks like a broken man, i hope he can redeem himself.
And Wilshere, for the 10 mins he was on, actually proved why he should be playing in the team, and I still dont know why he isn’t.
Good save Almunia aswell!!
November 25, 2008 at 21:45
yes
November 25, 2008 at 21:46
We’ll get slaughtered by the Chavs if we play like that against them bini, i’m hoping for a draw against Chelsea, anything but a loss.
November 25, 2008 at 21:46
trindle … the rest of ANC XI was made up of the likes of Eto so not fair to slag the rest of the ANC because of one player who is not performing
November 25, 2008 at 21:47
I’m glad we have won, but with this sort of play, chelsea will destroy us. We got serious problem- neither Dernilson nor Song are good enough. So maybe You are right folks- maybe we need Diaby playing next to Cesc.
Nasri ———————–Cesc——-Diaby———————-Wilsere
or
Nasri———————-Cesc…………..Ramsey………………………….Wilshare
November 25, 2008 at 21:49
Or mabe playing Djourou next to Cesc can help us.
November 25, 2008 at 21:49
great result considering our injuries and current turmoil. JD is never a full back, Denilson never a winger but i thought he did ok. Song seems slow in mind and body, gets into trouble trying to find a simple pass. cannot cut it as a midfielder I’m afraid. well done Nikki B, great control (if he didn’t handball it) and smashin finish!
November 25, 2008 at 21:49
finest… tonight there was no commitment & I am hoping for the passion to rise & also the confidence…. Players will turn up
November 25, 2008 at 21:50
If Bendtner’s pinky, what’s Ade… The brain?
November 25, 2008 at 21:50
WE will have players back for the chavs game. I wont be surprisd if we beat them. We perform in the big games. I hope we have Ade back
November 25, 2008 at 21:51
The second half was much better, could have been 3 or 4 0 had Bendtner finished of his first decent chance and if Silvestre and Gallas didn’t help but all in all they caused us problems, after Wilshere came on we took the game by the scruff of the neck and finished it off, they were knackered…but we certainly deserved the win….just feels like a narrow victory, 87th minute 1-0, I’ll take that any day of the week, but we didn’t outmuscle them completely, they had a few decent chances as well, but our passing, possesion and shots on target certainly deserved the win, and all in all the scoreline was fair enough, I don’t think we deserved more than a 1-0 today. Or anything less.
November 25, 2008 at 21:51
I agree completely raddy on all those points, Djourou is pants at full back, but he isn’t a full back so can’t blame him, and did a better job than hoyte would have im sure!
I don’t get the criticism of denilson at all, he was very solid defensively, and did well going forward most of the time though got caught in possession a couple of times. He isn’t a winger at all but did fine there, very reliable. Did much better than ramsey did, though ramsey is going to be a fantastic player he’s still not there yet and is still learning his game, it doesn’t come quickly enough yet but it’ll happen.
November 25, 2008 at 21:52
good one joe
November 25, 2008 at 21:52
Big Raddy it wasnt a set piece the ball was ‘dead’ or ‘tossed’ cos the ball was still in play when he stopped the game
November 25, 2008 at 21:52
lol maciek djourou can’t pass and isn’t good enough on the ball to play right back, he’d be a worse version of song if played centre mid!
November 25, 2008 at 21:52
Hi Bini – I wasn’t slagging the rest of the best XI – just wondered how he got in it! I cannot understand how his performances for us have not matched those for Cameroo. I have defended him many times (actually, given him the benefit ofthe doubt rather than defended) but AW should have taken him off tonight for the good of the team and the player.
November 25, 2008 at 21:53
almunia made a great save, some ball from fabregas for the goal and well taken by nikky. was a left foot finish no less… wenger is out of his mind with the subs… bendter good sub by why song stayed ive no idea. he is just attrocias in possesion with the ball!!!! WTF wenger please please please drop him!!!!! i would accept that as my only christmas present if i didnt get any other presents
November 25, 2008 at 21:56
yeah franchise there was nothing wrong with the way we scored, the ref stopped the play when we had the ball, then when sorted he went to drop it and the kiev player came to contest it but the ref waved him away and just dropped it to cesc.
November 25, 2008 at 21:56
Song had a good game…he only gave the ball away once…Its Denilson thats the problem…
THE PINK BOOTS CAME THROUGH!!
November 25, 2008 at 21:56
cant wait to get ade back. he is the only striker that looks to get behind the defenders thats why he is always offside. The other strikers look to drop in too much
November 25, 2008 at 21:57
david is that sarcasm i assume regarding song!?
November 25, 2008 at 21:59
lol…i honestly think he wasnt as bad as Denilson on the right…give the lad a break he did make some good tackles and didnt give the ball away like Denilson did…he clearly isnt good enough but he wasnt as bad as his usual self.
November 25, 2008 at 21:59
Well done Gallas tonight!!!
I slagged you of all week and what you done tonight was hard, loads of pressure.
Let’s get behind him from now on!!
November 25, 2008 at 21:59
Can’t wait till Eduardo is back, we could do with an out and out box player.
November 25, 2008 at 21:59
yeah i agree franchise. All our strikers CAN do it, but they’re all much better at dropping than they are running behind, but ade isn’t. Though at times he has delusions of grandeur and tries the dropping thing but just sucks at it! Vela could be very good running behind but also likes to drop off.
November 25, 2008 at 22:00
song didnt have a good game, he was in there to anchor the midfield yet everytime kiev went on the attack he was 10-15yards away from the ball leaving the defence exposed. hes slow, crap at positioning himself and kiev was cutting through us like a knife through butter. he gave the ball away more than once and he does it every game he plays, hes the worst player ive seen at arsenal in a long while
November 25, 2008 at 22:01
We are seriously missing Eboue on the right…he wouldve done much much better than Denilson…
November 25, 2008 at 22:02
I agree Jonjon, poor positioning from song, box player and defensive midfielder needed.
November 25, 2008 at 22:02
Nah david denilson did well and was played out of position, song gave the ball away over half the times he got it i reckon, though he did get in a few tackles. In terms of on the ball it must have been one of the worst performances by an arsenal player i’ve seen! The ref was very weird today i thought. First five minutes denilson and vela both got slashed down and he gave nothing, then he just went mad the other way and vp just fell over whereupon he gave him a free kick, then after that he gave absolutely everything to us! then gave us the ball for the goal! They were very dirty though, aliev is a piece of shit.
November 25, 2008 at 22:03
JonJon
Would you say the same about Denilson when he plays the DM next to Cesc?
If there is anyone who doesnt have a clue about positioning its Denilson…all in all good game..
It was the ugliest win we got this season.
November 25, 2008 at 22:03
LJW would of done better than denilson or eboue on the right
November 25, 2008 at 22:04
lol @ Song having a good game. He was poor, and in his “preferred” position. At least Denilson had the excuse of being on the wing, but I would have taken him off aswell, they look below par, and need to be dropped. I was glad Wilshere finally got the minutes, I waited fucking ages for that, and he didn’t disappoint lol.
November 25, 2008 at 22:04
David, any of our wingers would have done better than Denilson and Ramsey, it just shows you how bad our situation at the moment is when we’re missing Eboue.
November 25, 2008 at 22:04
david denilson was on the left…. I agree though we miss eboue a lot, he’ll be back soon. I hope diaby and nasri just being rested for sunday, I’d imagine they’ll both be back, with bendtner in for vela, and we’ll play bend up top by himself with vp in a very withdrawn role or maybe out wide with diaby central, i hope not though!
November 25, 2008 at 22:05
Denilson did okayish, but he’s never going to be no more than Fabregas’s understudy.
November 25, 2008 at 22:06
Aliev is a piece of shit…
But have you noticed that this is the way teams play Arsenal? Dirty….Hacking at our players all the time…
And Denilson is not strong enough to handle the physicality of the game..which is why i said he gave the ball away when he falls over and the ref’s dont call…
Tends to happn alot.
November 25, 2008 at 22:07
nah jonjon, denilson was very solid defensively, that’s what we needed tonight, rather than wilshere’s attacking attributes. Likewise although ramsey isn’t brilliant defensively he’s still more solid than ljw. His time will come, but it wasn’t tonight, and won’t be sunday! We wanted to keep it tight, and hope to nick a win, which we did, so we’re through and that’s all that matters!
November 25, 2008 at 22:07
David i totally agree with you mate about denilson, but he does have promise hes just not ready yet. song has no promise.
denilson is a central attacking mid, not a DM or a winger so his game is hampered all the time cos wenger asks him to play everywhere. he shouldnt be in the first team hes more of a backup for cesc but he is a good player when he plays in the correct position.
November 25, 2008 at 22:08
yeah david teams are disgusting against us. With villa it’s just the way they play, so I wasn’t surprised that they fouled twice as much against us as nearly every other team that weekend in the prem. I certainly wouldn’t have expected city to foul like they did though which shows the approach teams have to playing us!
November 25, 2008 at 22:08
I think Bentner is best as a sub….I dnt think he should start…
And i think Diaby is a good secondary striker….he did well playing behind Ade so if Bentner starts up front alone Diaby should be his second man behind him…
How we miss Eboue and Walcott sooo….
November 25, 2008 at 22:08
A,
none of them were solid defensively, kievs breaks kept exposing that,
November 25, 2008 at 22:10
what about Aliev writhing in agony…. with one eye on the game, and jumping up and haring away as soon as they got possession? what a complete wazzock.
Song was consistent, in that he could be relied upon to waste and lose possession, in his preferred position. not good enough, not for our game anyway
November 25, 2008 at 22:10
I’m off to bed. Good night to all of You!
November 25, 2008 at 22:10
The difference between Denilson and Fabregas is Fab finds time on the ball, and has great awareness.
I don’t think Denilson will ever get those skills, they are born not created..
November 25, 2008 at 22:11
jonjon they broke through once, when almunia saved, that was it, almunia cant have touched the ball more than 4 or 5 times? And only made one save, except for the other one that you can’t really call a save as he should have caught it easily and nearly spilled it!
November 25, 2008 at 22:11
the only midfielder that played in his natural position was cesc,
ramsey and denilson are not wingers they are central players so expecting them to have the game of their lives is a bit much.
and song might as well not been playing.
November 25, 2008 at 22:12
A,
they broke through the defence once, when almunia saved, they were breaking through the midfield all game mate.
November 25, 2008 at 22:12
Jon Jon
You are absolutely correct!
Denilson does have potential…but its not his time yet. If he is a Central Attacking Midfielder..
Why doesnt he run at defenders like a Kaka…or a Xavi?
November 25, 2008 at 22:13
One more thing- could someone give me a link to the goal. Thanks.
November 25, 2008 at 22:13
song was playing his natural position jonjon. He did a few good things defensively, but in terms of when we were in possession i genuinly think we would have done better with ten men than have him playing!
November 25, 2008 at 22:15
Jonjon, Vela can play left wing, Wilshere can play right wing, Denilson and Ramsey on the wings is asking for trouble, against a team with more than just an option of counterattacking we’re in trouble. Imagine Deco and Cole against those two…it gives me the shivers.
November 25, 2008 at 22:15
Come to think of it we dont have any player that takes on defenders 1-1…we prefer to just drop back and pass like lazy bums…
November 25, 2008 at 22:16
David,
denilson is in the cesc mould but hes nowhere near ready, hes not a runner with the ball like kaka or xavi, hes more of a passer like cesc.
November 25, 2008 at 22:16
They kept getting past the midfield, song was not doing his job as the defensive midfielder lol. His positioning is very poor indeed.
November 25, 2008 at 22:17
Cos we don’t have a box player David, we need Eduardo, otherwise an Henry replacement, any suggestions?
November 25, 2008 at 22:18
I wonder what approach we’ll take to the last match. Only need to draw to win the group, but the game is on the weds, and we play away at middlesbrough on the sat at 12.45! We could well rest a couple of players for the weekend and play for the draw.
November 25, 2008 at 22:19
JonJon
But his passing is not that great…he certainly isnt the master passer like eboue.
Ramsey is by far a better player if its passing were talking about…if thats the case then we have too many central players that pass…and dont run.
November 25, 2008 at 22:21
Since we’re already through, we might as well play the Carling Cup team A.
November 25, 2008 at 22:21
Hi guys. Song is SHITE. The way he runs is pathetic. It’s like there’s a crab in his shorts.
November 25, 2008 at 22:21
O yes…We have needed a Henry Replacement…
But then again…we also needed a Seaman Replacement…Never happnd…A tony Adams Replacement….A Flamini replacement….
Maybe the only thing Wenger got right is Nasri….who might be a Pires replacement when he feels like it…
November 25, 2008 at 22:22
I agree finest, i also feel RVP makes a good right wing, he plays there for holland and is consistent most games, i wanted wilshere to start, hes got the ability to beat the full backs, although when he gets older he’ll make a better central attacking mid.
our problem is we have no wingmen, rosicky can play there because hes good with the ball at his feet like pires was but practically all our mids are central players, its square pegs in round holes and until we play players in the correct positions we’ll have no balance in the midfield.
the midfield is were you win the game, its the base for attack and defence, if you dont have a balanced midfield you can expect to struggle and we have that problem this season.
November 25, 2008 at 22:23
And Wilshere is a star. Asking for the ball everywhere, doing the unexpected, running everything.
November 25, 2008 at 22:23
Yeah finest, but if we lose then we’ll draw one of the top teams in the next round, so winning the group has a significant advantage. Though I can’t see us playing our 100% full team. I wonder if Cesc could be rested, and VP if he’s had a good run of games, stick in Ramsey and Vela. Bit early to say though. Certainly don’t think with such a small recovery period afterwards we’ll do a juve and take our full team, would be silly
November 25, 2008 at 22:25
Thought we lacked any creativity any where in midfield myself. Cesc cannot play with song in tha middle. Song was well of the pace and doesn’t look like he is ever going to get there. i would rather see Ramsey play along side Fab, Ramsey didn’t have the best game but at lest he can keep the ball.
Up top thought RVP was poor i know he was trying to link play, but he is one of the clubs more experenced players, and needs to do a lot more if he is ever going to live up to his rep! vela worked hard but seemed to be working on his own alot.
November 25, 2008 at 22:25
Exactly david,
he isnt ready yet, and i agree, we have too many players who are the same in the midfield, theres no balance to our midfield.
plenty of players who can pick up a pass, but no dribblers or tacklers.
November 25, 2008 at 22:26
jonjon vp couldn’t play right wing in 4-4-2, he only plays there for holland because they play 4-3-3 barca sort of formation, he could never play in a 4 man traditional midfield role, or at least not on the right.
November 25, 2008 at 22:28
Did you hear that? Chelsea haven’t been able to sell-out Arsenal game. HAHAHAHAHA. That club is pathetic. Talking of moving into a 60,000 seater. haha. At least sp*ds have more supporters than Chelsea
November 25, 2008 at 22:33
RvP cant play left wing at all, but playing right allows him to come onto his left. where he is strongest, i agree though A not in a 442 but if we play 433 he could be considered
November 25, 2008 at 22:33
Ad: By Roman Abramovich:

SUPPORTERS NEEDED FOR CLUB.
.
A club named Chelsea F.C located in London is in desperate need of supporters. Interested persons can apply at http://www.chelseafc.com. Salary is shite football.
November 25, 2008 at 22:34
Spurdozer, Wilshere did exactly what he should have when he came on. He tried to dribble, made the smart options look easy, don’t remember him giving the ball away when he came on. He has just about enough tricks to beat people. So what he is 16, HE SHOULD PLAY!!!!
November 25, 2008 at 22:35
Does anyone rate podolski??? Bayern have said if he wants to go he can. hes been unsettled a while, i dont know anything about him but alot of people say hes good,
November 25, 2008 at 22:37
Podolski is basically Van Persie lol. They are almost identical. It would be dumb to get Podolski when we have Van Persie.
November 25, 2008 at 22:40
He’s good JonJon, but not a ready made, he would need to be gradually broken into the Premier League, especially with lack of match experience at Bayern Munich, so a great addition, but more of a luxury than a necessity.
November 25, 2008 at 22:40
for me in the midfield
SONG AND DENILSON ,SPELL
SELLEY AND HILLIER
NOT WAY NOT FUCKING GOOD ENOUGH ,NEVER
song is super shit, and denilson has all the strength of Bambi
stop playing those two boss ,if they both play there on sunday we will be in trouble.
November 25, 2008 at 22:40
But walcotts out for a while what if podolski came on loan and played wing??
November 25, 2008 at 22:41
Simon, don’t look forward to Sunday, pray for a draw.
November 25, 2008 at 22:43
nasri and diaby should be back sunday so hopefully song wont play
November 25, 2008 at 22:43
Possibly JoJon, but he is more of a striker, we might as well buy a proper winger. Ashley Young would do nicely on left wing since Nasri can play on either wing.
November 25, 2008 at 22:44
FINEST I’M ON MY KNEE’S NOW ,i’ll even go to confession if this helps the boys on sunday.
November 25, 2008 at 22:44
Match report… done.
See you all tomorrow!
Have a good one!
November 25, 2008 at 22:46
we wouldnt be able to afford young finest, villa arent in financial difficulty and we are now regarded as there rivals for 4th, theres no way he will come to us, unless he handed in a request, even then hed be more than 25mil,
altough id love young, 9mil for him was a bargain
November 25, 2008 at 22:47
Great note on the winger subject , we need help in january at that position ,Big Time ,
especially with theo out and the uncertiancy surrounding rosicknotes return.
November 25, 2008 at 22:48
walcotts not really a winger though either come to think of it, hes just a stop gap for rosicky
November 25, 2008 at 22:48
Unfortunately , the idiot spud that is Pleat summed up Alex Song perfectly . When Kiev broke 4 against 3 and the guy that was suppoesed to be protecting the back four was seen jogging some 20 yards from the scene each time .
he said ” he looks like he treads water ” .
for once Mr Pleat you are BANG ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no need to say anymore than that
November 25, 2008 at 22:48
if we play 4-3-3
With V.P on the left who is going int the middle and on the right??
Bentner up front with Diaby???
I think i like that idea.
November 25, 2008 at 22:48
did someone on here really ask why denilson doesnt run at defenders like kaka or xavi?? please tell me my eyes were lying
November 25, 2008 at 22:51
van was fucking awful again
November 25, 2008 at 22:52
LOL bergkamp you saw right
we dont really have the personnel to play 433 david
but if we did it i would say
diaby cesc nasri
rvp ade vela
November 25, 2008 at 22:52
Pleat also said Wenger makes at least one subsitution at half time…
WTF is that prostitute shagging tosser on about?
Why can’t we have a ex gunner commentating on our games like ManU and the Scousers have?
November 25, 2008 at 22:52
LOL avenall
November 25, 2008 at 22:54
WATCH THE GAME AGAIN GUYS.
SONG WAS THE ONE BRAKING UP KIEV AND his passing was awsome. lost the ball once!!! as David pointed out. I HATE HIM, BUT I have to admit he was very good.
November 25, 2008 at 22:55
David
I take it you are joking . Bentner , please , and to slag of denilson so much . yes agree he is not ready and maybe not quite good enough but I feel sorry for him being played so out of position . what do you expect ! blame the manager for not strenghtening the squad .
on the positive Jack Wilshire ! reminds a little of a young gazzer who is hungry for the ball .
ps guys , I noticed the bench telling Gallas to be more vocal . I guess now he will think fuck you lot , I will just play and you lot can take the lead ???
Am I right ?
November 25, 2008 at 22:55
Is Ade fit to play?
And Carlos was exceptional tonite…along with clichy.
I think we can play 4-3-3….And i think we should….There is no added value using a 4-5-1 playing Song and Denilson
November 25, 2008 at 22:55
JonJon i blinked an it was infront of me an i thought it was a joke,if it was that easy to run at defenders,no trick to it kaka wouldnt be famous
November 25, 2008 at 22:57
Just got back from the game, I’ve only seen us play about 10 times but I’v only ever seen us win so I must be lucky. We were rubbish for a lot of the game. Denilson was terrible. Had a great tour of finsbury park station after the game though.
November 25, 2008 at 22:57
Maek,
song wasnt breaking anything up he was nowhere near the kiev players all game they passed through our midfield like it wasnt there but couldnt get past the defence
the only thing he was breaking was a sweat trying to keep up with the pace.
November 25, 2008 at 22:57
I know JonJon, Randy Lerner is not about to sacrifice one of his match winners, but hey you never know.
Simon, lets hope we get lucky, with the team down to the bare bones and Chelsea without any major problems since they have stockpiles of world class players, we are major underdogs and lets hope they can’t be arsed….and that our players will, but since it’s a derby, both teams will be up for it big time. That’s the only positive about it, the derby factor always plays a role.
November 25, 2008 at 22:57
we need physical presence,we scored but never looked like scoring, robin was in an out, carlos was trying with no support an the defenders got dazzled by poof boots,i say bring back ade an play him with carlos against chelsea, vans too predictable
November 25, 2008 at 22:57
Jules .. How do you know he was talking to Gallas???
November 25, 2008 at 22:58
Jules
If anyone knows me on here…they know i dnt rate Bentner…..but i do feel that if we play 4-3-3..he would work nicely in that formation…with his passing ability.
Thanks Maek
Finally someone agrees Song did an OK job!
November 25, 2008 at 22:59
Maek
wot rubbish . I don,t need to watch it again . he was ok first half after that he left the back 4 totally exposed yards from anywhere barely jogging when kiev broke forward .
no where near good enough . a dm is meant to protect / sit in front of the back 4 not expose it
November 25, 2008 at 22:59
LOL bergkamp
what id give for a kaka or a xavi in this team
November 25, 2008 at 22:59
Song’s tackling was the only decent thing about him today Maek. His off the ball movement defensively was alarmingly bad for a supposed defensive midfielder.
November 25, 2008 at 23:00
bergkamp
When have you seen Kaka dribble 1 defender???
He runs past them like they dont exist…just like Wright-philips…
Are you saying that a CAM doenst run past defenders?
November 25, 2008 at 23:00
lol the bench telling gallas to be more vocal?? an denilson playing out of position?? you mean on the pitch?
November 25, 2008 at 23:01
Denilson said…. “if you want me to play like Kaka, pay me like Kaka”..
Oh no it wasn’t that was Ade talking about Henry..
November 25, 2008 at 23:01
Dazzled by poof boots lmao
November 25, 2008 at 23:02
avenell .
pitchside commentator said Pat rice was telling Willy to be more vocal after saying how quiet he was .
November 25, 2008 at 23:02
wtf? I thought wenger liked players with pace? song has absolutely no pace at all. denilson isn’t strong enough to be a DM or has the best positioning to snuff off attacks.
selling gilberto was one of the biggest mistakes wenger made in his arsenal career. he was a solid DM. FFS he is a captain of brazil and we let him go??wenger should seriously rethink about his age thing. we let pires and gilberto go cos of their age. they are both solid players.
fab4 has to play more defensively as he has to always trackback to help the DM. Need a DM like Makelele, that should release fab and he would score goals like last season.
song aint cutting it. I think this season song wont be dropped like last season when eboue kept on playing n playing n ………….. when he should have been dropped.
Still didn’t see the desire to win it, not much passion amongst the players. I hope this will change soon.
November 25, 2008 at 23:02
david im sayin if someone belives denilson has the height an pace to shrug defenders like kaka then they need to watch a difference sport, all im sayin is is someone said why doesnt denilson run at defenders like kaka?? same reason cesc dont, same reason rvp dont
November 25, 2008 at 23:03
theres a real gay theme goin on over the emirates, the subs were even warming up in pink vests
November 25, 2008 at 23:04
Pichside commentator? …
He is 80ft up in the stands,, If he said Pat Rice had Emu on his arm would you beleive him?
November 25, 2008 at 23:05
pink in boots !
November 25, 2008 at 23:05
i wish denilson could run at defenders like kaka does,id buy a dm an drop cesc
November 25, 2008 at 23:06
how is a pitchside commentator 80ft up in the stands ?
November 25, 2008 at 23:06
David
Denilson and cesc are both attacking mids but they are different to the likes of kaka. kaka runs at people and cesc passes through them. denilson is in the same mould as cecs but he is nowhere near ready. asking him to play DM and wing every week is messing up his game.
November 25, 2008 at 23:06
gallas still has a duty to speak to his defensive line, captain or no captain he is still a leader on the pitch
November 25, 2008 at 23:06
Bergkamp
I agree with you mate that someone was me…and we had a discussion about that that you caught on much later…
If Denilson is Cesc’s understudy he is light years away from where he needs to be…
November 25, 2008 at 23:07
Song needs a DM …. up his arse.. a Doc Marten!!!!
November 25, 2008 at 23:08
the thing is jonjon denilson has spent much of this season playin the attackin mid role, cesc has been the one to anchor the midfield infront of the defence
November 25, 2008 at 23:08
Bergkamp
Its isnt gay…Its just PINK POWER!!! lol…ok it is gay
November 25, 2008 at 23:08
finest let us pray,
one thing though your right it being a derby cesc will leave it all on the pitch on sunday hopefully the others will follow his lead, a draw will be a moral victory
good night grovers ,
November 25, 2008 at 23:08
hang on avenell !!
Do you know me , reveal yourself
November 25, 2008 at 23:10
i like denilson,i just think he has been given an oportunity which may be a bit too big for him,the team aint playin well,i think he would have fell better into the team had we a proper dm an cesc got injured, but they way it is denilson should still be doing better to stay in the team,he can hear whats being said,he knows everyone wants a dm,the least he could do is stop strolling an defend with more conviction
November 25, 2008 at 23:10
I think we can and should win it…
We play a 4-3-3 and play with some URGENCY TO SCORE A GOAL….WE WILL WIN IT!
Shite…We’ll WIN ANYTHING WITH URGENCY TO SCORE.
November 25, 2008 at 23:11
avenell ??
November 25, 2008 at 23:12
Bergkamp,
thats why our defence has been crap all season, neither cesc or denilson are defensive mids and denilson isnt ready yet
November 25, 2008 at 23:12
maybe the kit man vik akers put the whites in with niks kinky boots an now all the bibs an the womens teams Gstrings are all pink
November 25, 2008 at 23:13
well said Bergkamp
Well fuking said Mate!
One thing I cannot Tolerate…is I dont mind if you give the ball away cheaply…as long as you stand up and fight to get it back….
Nikki Pink Boots and Denilson dont do this…at least Song does.
November 25, 2008 at 23:13
Pink Boots, coming out, Is this a Arsenal site?
November 25, 2008 at 23:15
one of the main problems at arsenal this season is weve lost posesion too easy, like man city on saturday, van persie holds the ball up,the midfield get higher up the pitch than him an instead of playin the easy ball he loses it an we get broken against, we need a real dm who can just cut out things before they happen, gilberto could spot danger before the oposition, cesc an denilson only see infront of them
November 25, 2008 at 23:16
maybe thats why gallas kicked off and said we needed to be warriors. nikki b doesnt exactly bring fear into the opponents by warming up in pink boots and a pink bib
hes probably got a pink cushion in the dressing room with NB embroided on it in gold
November 25, 2008 at 23:16
maybe now we know why steve bruce is after nik BENDTner,he swapped his daughter for her hairdresser
November 25, 2008 at 23:16
oh well avenell , maybe you don,t , what you said was just a coincidence .
ps . thanks for enlightening me . all those years when at boxing they say , lets go to our ringside commentators , they were actually up 80 ft in the bar !!
November 25, 2008 at 23:17
Stuffed the Chicken Kiev Bastards. Chelsea next.
November 25, 2008 at 23:17
in togo they hate manlovers, maybe thats why ade wants to give nik a good slap every now an again
November 25, 2008 at 23:18
agreed about gilberto bergkamp,
we need midfielders who have a defensive side to their game and not just a creative one.
we have none whatsoever
November 25, 2008 at 23:19
lol
November 25, 2008 at 23:19
mr jules, captain or not, willy gallas is senior an he should keep his defenders on their toes, get in their ears, tell them to push up, you cant rely on one player to be the boss, viera took a regular earful from keown in his day
November 25, 2008 at 23:20
hey jon jon
someones noticed !!
November 25, 2008 at 23:21
bergkamp
totally agree with you mate….that last game with City…
One minute it was a goal kick…the next second it was a goal…
HOW in all that is sane on this side of reality do we lose the ball so cheaply?
A goal kick? and then they counter-attack and score?
November 25, 2008 at 23:21
JonJon thats coz they aint the best dribblers of the ball and usually cost quite a bit of cash unless they are working in a bean factory in brazil like gilberto, last season we had 3 now we have none, thats what arsene will be asking santa for, they dont even have to be hard as nails, just able to hold up play an slow teams down till we can get back defending in numbers!
November 25, 2008 at 23:23
Jules I didn’t hear any pitch side commentator just the one with the Luton Ripper as back up.
Was having a
November 25, 2008 at 23:23
i tell u what, robin was tryin to do too many stepovers against city,2-0 down an you dont fuck about, you move the ball faster, van lost posesion with the whole midfield ahead of him an didnt even try chase back, that really pissed me off, people talk about the young players but in my eyes its the seniors who seem to be a weak link
November 25, 2008 at 23:23
NIKKI-BIG BALLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I FUCKING NEW HE WOULD SCORE. EVERYONE NEXT TO ME AT THE GAME WAS SLAGING HIM OFF. I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO WAS TELLING EVERYONE TO KEEP THE FAITH IN HIM. LOL IM GLAD HE SCORED.
November 25, 2008 at 23:24
everyone took an earful from keown, keown was the type of player the manager kept locked in a cage in the dressing room, and only let him out for matches.
we need some more of them players, cana springs to mind.
up until a few years ago how many red cards did we get under wenger?? was it close to 50, that part of our game has gone and players only get red for petulance like RVP, not kicking the shit out of people and these years were our most successful under wenger, so why change it and allow us to be targets of the bullyboys??
We used to be the bully boys, if we couldnt play you off the park we’d kick you off it.
we need to get that back
November 25, 2008 at 23:25
Jules….. What was the coincidence?
And where are you from as a matter of interest?
November 25, 2008 at 23:25
even freddie wouldnt be seen dead in pink boots, pink pants but not boots
November 25, 2008 at 23:25
Spot on AGAIN BergKamp!
You read minds now!
November 25, 2008 at 23:27
see when we was the bullys they told us to clean up our act,now everyone has become exactly what we were an they tell us to toughen up
November 25, 2008 at 23:28
Well January cant come any quicker….
We need a Keeper…A DM and a bunch of Real Wingers….
November 25, 2008 at 23:28
How Shit did RvP play today. the man was playing so deep i thought he was playing Center Back. bloody shocking.
Vela Shouldnt have came off he was our most dangerous player.
November 25, 2008 at 23:29
but for real we really need a better physical presence up front, nikki b did exactly wat he should be doin more often, good centre forward play, not none of the standing on the wing, get in the middle and score them kind of goals, throw your elbows all over the place an clatter the goalkeeper at any given oportunity, for me that is how nik should be
November 25, 2008 at 23:29
We need a couple of DM’s in case one is injured or suspended!!!! lol
November 25, 2008 at 23:29
Avenell .
they went down to the pitchside geezer who said about it , buy hey , who gives a fuck !
Funny , I thought you were winding me up and you know me as you mentioned who I work for !! coincidence .
Anyway , I am going to call it a night so . nite all . and at least we won eh !??
ps , yep get rid of the s@x c$se ex spud pleat love rat and get a fucking gooner to commentate for our games !
November 25, 2008 at 23:30
raif lol dont slag off van,if the american gooners come on here you will get mullered
November 25, 2008 at 23:31
JonJon thats exactly what i said yesterday,we need stock, not just one
November 25, 2008 at 23:32
bergkamp
cisse had pink hair the last time i seen, do you think wenger will by him in jan???
November 25, 2008 at 23:32
rvp doesnt pla well without ade,an ade doesnt score with rvp,ade seems to give him plenty of asists and then everyone says play bendtner instead
November 25, 2008 at 23:32
Avenell .
work for Dr Martens . live in Biggleswade , Beds , Grew up in Barnet so been going to the gooners since I was 14 . now old git 42 , siver scheme member ,mate has my season ticket
goodnight guys .
November 25, 2008 at 23:33
Vela is Our Most Dangerous Player…
Which is why Arsene baffles me when the obvious choices to come off (Denilson, Song)
I think the nxt match we play the Carling Cup kids…definately
November 25, 2008 at 23:33
i think cisse looks too much like gallas, but he is often out injured so you never know JonJon
November 25, 2008 at 23:34
lol bring them on.
Tonight he was shit. and ill tell the american he would make a excellent QUATERBACK aswell
i think when Ade Gets back its time for him to sit on the Bench for a bit and Vela get a run out instead
November 25, 2008 at 23:34
And I predicted the score.. 3.36pm… Mystic Avenell..
Anyone want to buy some lottery mumbers?..
November 25, 2008 at 23:35
Jules i hope you dont wear the DM’s with the union jack printed on them
November 25, 2008 at 23:36
hargreaves is always injured, fergie is said to be ready to offload him, whats betting hes an arsenal play next year???
November 25, 2008 at 23:36
lol
Jon Jon…lol
Doesnt Sagna have yellow hair??
November 25, 2008 at 23:36
no Bergy being a gooner , the ones with the French flag on them !
November 25, 2008 at 23:36
i still say the main thing about rvp is for a man who drops deep he is very uncreative, and them young forwards need better support, ade an vela would offer us so many ways of attacking, long ball, crosses, slooted through balls, van is an out an out back to goal ball to feet man
November 25, 2008 at 23:36
Or is it pink?
November 25, 2008 at 23:36
bergkamp
RvP dont play well with Ade either mate. there like chalk and cheese i just cant put my finger on whos the chork and whos the cheese
November 25, 2008 at 23:37
Geoff I disagree making him captain will not bring his game back it might but I doubt it he needs a much better midfield partner 4 him 2 be a his very best.
November 25, 2008 at 23:37
Haha david yes, and almunias got grey hair!!!! are you suprised
November 25, 2008 at 23:38
lol jules do they really do a french flag pair, they should do them in anything other than the union jack, infact ima buy a cameroon pair
November 25, 2008 at 23:38
JonJon
we had our chance to get hargreaves and missed it.
November 25, 2008 at 23:38
Used to drink in Biggleswade many years ago! Think it was the pub in the market square.. My mate used to live on the new estate next to that railway line. Towards the retail park…
November 25, 2008 at 23:39
id say ade is the cheese,he is the 30 goals striker,an he seems to have the big game knack as well, ade is the cheese an vela is the one who is so unpredictable even jt will worry about divin in
November 25, 2008 at 23:40
Thats because manutd offered 18mil and wenger couldnt match it, raif we could get him for cheap now but he’ll be rosickys bunk buddy!!!!!
sounds like a perfect wenger signing
November 25, 2008 at 23:40
hahahahaha sagna has platinum synthetic hair, not yellow,i had a simular style a few years back when being african wasnt in fashion
November 25, 2008 at 23:41
lmoa hahahahahahahahaa
November 25, 2008 at 23:41
hargreaves ,we should buy wats his name, the scottish geezer fletcher, he has 2 good games a season an they are both against arsenal
November 25, 2008 at 23:42
Platinum??? haha…Bling Bling on his Hair…and since when did being African in go out of fashion? Apparently…it does when the ANC comes around..
November 25, 2008 at 23:43
i know sagna is one of them guys who go’s to the most hardcore ragga crack partys down stoke newington, that hair guarantees him some booty
November 25, 2008 at 23:43
bergy mate .
I would,nt recommend the cameroon pair as they are twenty yards from anyother fucker and they are not that durable plus they fuck off for a month every two years leaving you in the shit and when they return they just ain,t the same .
November 25, 2008 at 23:43
If thats the case bergkamp, we should buy delap and all the hull and fulham and sunderland squads
November 25, 2008 at 23:44
fletcher?
Yes wat a faggit. Like every Manc wanker

November 25, 2008 at 23:56
JonJon i wouldnt say RVP has been a let down,i think rvp is great when things are goin well an you have a good balance between defend an attack, van will always do well because he has talent, but no one seems to do well partnering him,if a bid of 12 mill plus came in for van i think theyd rub their hands

whats that humiliate bendtner thing all about,if you wear pink boots and your name has the word BENDT included in it then you gotta expect some stick especially if you play like ru paul
November 26, 2008 at 00:01
lmao avenall
wasnt juve after him in the summer for 16mil,
i think RVP is one of them players who needs other good players around him.
he needs space to do his stuff and playing in this team doesnt suit him, but when he played with bobby and freddie and th14 he had all the space in the world.
i think its the same with cesc, he needs other good players around him to bring out his game. playing with denilson and song doesnt do him any justice.

what a goal line clearance by gallas, does that go down as an owngoal line clearance or just helpin the enemy?,and why does gallas always slip after doin well?? an he never came to greet the red action like usual,he just stormed off after the match
November 26, 2008 at 00:12
Maybe he felt embarrased…
R.V.P shouldve scored…
November 26, 2008 at 00:13
maybe gallas did that because he made a cock up in defence and did a bendtner on the line, maybe he thought he didnt deserve a clap from the fans
its too early after the gallasgate, i wouldnt look too much into it
if he wants to stay, then lets give him time, he probably feels embarrased more than anything, we need to get behind him.
November 26, 2008 at 00:13

because its the coca cola league and it was englishman on englishman, your allowed to hospitalise people and bring knuckle dusters onto the pitch.
if it was the premier league and he’d of done it to ronaldo he’d of been given a 18year suspension and his club would have been liquidised
November 26, 2008 at 00:32
JonJon if he’d have done it to eduardo too. but for real, the player said he was gonna do him an he did it so blatant an coz the ref booked him they cant do nothing, the games a joke
November 26, 2008 at 00:34
he gets zero punishment ,but like the ade tackle at stoke the ref said the ball was out of play so he couldnt do nothing,so why didnt the police have a look??

November 26, 2008 at 00:45

November 26, 2008 at 00:47
thing is matey was on camera tellin him to shut his mouth or he would elbow him again an he did,two years earlier he blatantly punched van in the ribs when they beat us 1-0 away
November 26, 2008 at 00:48
Bergkamp..The other bloggers don’t see the careing side of you, like I do…
November 26, 2008 at 00:49
the FA are a farce overall mate
look at the international friendlies, wenger and benitez should both be in uproar, gerrard was injured didnt play and dint play the sat after, yet capello demanded he see a club doctor, walcott goes and gets injured for months, rio rooney and lampard pretend their injured, dont play for england but are playing sat for their clubs and nothin gets said.
fucking bullshit
November 26, 2008 at 00:51
haha avenell, sometimes i get carried away,my pals are all john barnes men, london scousers so i got a lot to say but no one to say it to,they love van now that he winds me up, at least pedro an geoff care

IMO the Little Fella, with the hobbit sized legs; but a big heart Jacky Wilshire made an impact when he came on that was positive
He is going to be awsome.
November 26, 2008 at 03:42
Still not convinced with Little Nicky
or song, but they were better.
Technically the goal should not have stood apparently coz it had to be played back to Kiev or a drop ball, & neither happened. Can anyone clarify the situation. Still we deserved things going our way. Cesc is back
, what an assist.
Denilson was OK but euro opos aren’t as physical as with the PL so, he still has to convince me he is a full season proposition
But, I must admit I did a dance in the lounge when the goal went in, what a relief.
November 26, 2008 at 03:44
…..& it was great to see the manager take a gamble with Vela, JD20 & Ramsay, then throw the Jack Russell Terrier & Little Nicky
on when the game still had to be won.

Good morning/evening London/Sydney/Copenhagen/Pakistan etc
Cheers Raddy. I predicted 1-0 to The Arsenal, but they left it late, mind.
November 26, 2008 at 07:48
Hi.
Bit quiet here this morning, though it is early in the UK.
Much to be worked on after last night, but a step in the right direction. We were missing a number of key players.
Baca, Ade and Sami should be fit for the Chavs, but I fear for us at Stamford Bridge
November 26, 2008 at 07:56
the key appears to be fully fit and key position left and right backs with true wingers in front of both. playing make shift right backs and midfielders as wingers is a sure recipie for disaster!
November 26, 2008 at 08:02
morning grovers,
GG9
re; the goal,
the goal shouldnt have stood, but not because of cescs pass.
there was no foul, the ref stopped play because JD20 looked hurt and restarted with a drop ball. we had possession anyway when the ref blew the whistle, so cesc didnt have to give it back, it wasnt theirs to give it back to.
the thing they were moaning about was the fact nikki used his arm to control it before smashing it passed the keeper who was dazzled by niks pink kinkyboots.
November 26, 2008 at 08:05
I have been reading the Newsnow feeds, and it strikes me how totally crap most journalists are.
Read this. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2008/11/26/arsenal-overcome-dynamo-kiev-in-champions-league-thanks-to-nicklas-bendtner-s-pink-power-115875-20925296/
It is full of inacurracies, fabricated slurs, and an anti – Arsenal bias.
One can only agree with AW about the way the press conduct their ‘witch-hunts’. As others have said, MU get away with anything. Had an Arsenal player missed the England game through injury, and then played on the Saturday (Rooney/Ferdinand), we would have had headlines about our French manager putting England second.
Makes me sick
November 26, 2008 at 08:10
totally agree BR
i mentioned that last night, the FA and the media are a farce, if that would of been us the headlines would of been WENGER DESTROYS ENGLISH FOOTBALL
but when man utd do it theres not a mention
thats why i hate watching arsenal games on sky or setanta, they hate us, itv are the only ones who give us credit.
November 26, 2008 at 08:14
Def Not a handball JJ.
OK – that was my first rant of the day.
Here’s another. Players, in particular forwards need confidence,, without it they take the easy option and lay the ball off.
I read that Nik was given a load of abuse before coming on as sub. IF that is true – how the hell does it help a 20 y.o. kid become a better player ? And as he is picked by AW , how is it his fault ? Do people really imagine he is not trying ? Do they think he doesn’t want the best for the team, and himself ? Bendtner’s whole life is football and Arsenal, he is doing all he can to break into the team., and it is illogical to say that Nik doesn’t try – the problem is that he tries too hard.
OK – rant over. Now for some breakfast
November 26, 2008 at 08:19
Cheers JJ
Big Raddy
WE WIN!! Fuck the Tabloids Ha de ha ha !!!!
November 26, 2008 at 08:20
agreed big rad – no handball – i would be the first to admit if there was any wrong doing.
i purposely replayed the downloaded goal highlight from arsenalvlog.blogspot.com many times to note that he brought the ball down off the left side of his chest just under the collar bone! legit!
great strike, great goal by the big fella! bloody muscley bastard too!
November 26, 2008 at 08:21
LOL BR,
i was looking at it from a kiev point of view!!!
There was abuse when nikki cane on during the game but it wasnt because it was nikki, it was wengers sub choice, he was pulling Vela off and alot of fans rate Vela higher in the order than nikki, add that to the fact that Vela was our best player and to pull him off when we needed a goal was puzling, but hey it paid off in the end.
your right though, theres alot of players in the squad that arent good enough just yet or never will be and its ok for fans to be on their backs in blogs but at the games we should get behind them. its not their fault AW picks them
November 26, 2008 at 08:22
Right. Evo.
A superb goal. One of the best of the season. Great pass, brilliant control at full speed, and an unstoppable finish.
November 26, 2008 at 08:23
Well said JJ
November 26, 2008 at 08:26
yep. great control on the left side of his body – Theo take note! you notice he also bumps the ball off his right knee over to his left side and then strikes it beautifully past the keeper into the net!
Silvestre and Cesc gave him a ripper of a congratulations!
November 26, 2008 at 08:27
im wrong he didnt pull vela off for bendtner its because he didnt take song or denilson off.
its too early, il get there in the end.lol
November 26, 2008 at 08:29
what would really make my day is if in arsene’s pre match conference before the chelsea game he comes out and says something like “Alex Song has a knock from tuesday and will not play”!!!
November 26, 2008 at 08:30
it was a well taken goal, but will he do it consistently, or are we going to see another 8 games of nothingness from the lad?
November 26, 2008 at 08:31
lol kenny, or something like song had ruptured cruciate ligaments and will be out for 2 seasons!!!!
November 26, 2008 at 08:42
It would be great if both happened JJ
November 26, 2008 at 08:44
NEW POST!
