Let me start by saying I rate Gallas and I like him but enough is enough, so here’s my proposal Arsene.
Gallas shouldn’t resign, he should be sacked as captain because regardless of where he stands, he brought the team into disrepute and that for a captain of Arsenal football club is unforgivable and unacceptable.
You can’t give it to Kolo, regardless of how much he is liked because he’s not really a first choice anymore and he goes to the ACN every two years, so sorry but that’s not good enough.
Don’t give it to Gael because he is French and I think it’s time for a change, so for me it has to be Alexandre Song, he has the lot and he was signed on the basis of exceptional talent.
Of course I’m f**king kidding. Give it to Cesc, it may keep him, it will certainly fire him up, he is great with the press and stops rumours in their tracks, f*ck the age, if he’s good enough, he’s old enough.
Now we’ve done that to death let’s move onto the big game today, jeez, it’s been a long wait, always of course made longer by a defeat, we got beat, there’s nothing we can do so let’s move on and put it right, by now Gallas may have been dropped so I’m going for a team without him, if he plays drop Kolo and put him in his place, so from the back.
Fabianski, as Almunia was shit last time and the time before the time before that, work that one out and you’ll know what’s coming next.
Hoyte Djourou Kolo Clichy
Ramsey Diaby Denilson Nasri
Ade RVP
Go for the jugular because this lot will, Robinho will want to show Wenger what he could have had, had he offered him more than 17 shillings and sixpence a week a few years ago, but Real got him instead.
They will not sit back, and I can’t see them mixing it, I think they like to play football, so attack boys, attack.
To finish on Gallas, he has said that if he leaves Arsenal it will be to go back to France, but only to PSG, Bordeaux or Marseilles and who do we know that plays at Marseilles? Spot on, Cana, so why not a little player plus cash deal and now, in January, whilst Gallas is still in his prime? That’s win, win then is it not? we get rid of the awkward issue with Gallas, we get in the animal we all crave, he’s not French and Wenger doesn’t lose face by backing down, and we’ll throw in Alexandre Song as part of the deal as he has exception talent, how can they refuse?
The thing is the minute he takes away the captaincy is the moment the player can no longer play for us and that’s why he didn’t do it last summer, Gallas has a few years left in him but with the emergence of Djourou and maybe even the improvement of Senderos next season, he can at last afford to let him go, bringing in a Cana or a Velosa gives Wenger options, gives us the much needed steel with lost with Flamini’s departure and gets rid of the disruptive influence in the changing room, whoever is at fault, and I take no sides, something is wrong and something needs to be done.

i would love to see wenger play a 4231 against the chavs just to see if it works

john. BECAUSE he is an arsenal fan, Rasputin has some negative views on Wenger.
I don’t know who the moderators of this blog are, but Rasputin seems to be a troll to me. Perhaps a Spurs or Chelsea fan winding people up.
oi oi raif
Most of our problems would be solved if
1.Arsene signs a a recognised Defensive Midfielder. Either of one our favourites on this site Cana or Alonso
2. We need to sign a winger Walcott is injured and even if he wasnt he has been mostly crap. Rosicky’s return is unknown even if he weere available he isnt a winger. LJW should be used with caution. Its too early to expect too much from him. The other options Eduardo and Vela are also not wingers. We need and deserve a tricky wing player. Overmars comes to mind. A jinker full of tricks always trying to stretch teams.
3. Now that Gallas has been made a scape goat the earlier we get rid of him the better. January Window. He is good enough to to use as a deal sweetener.
4. Move Bendtner down the pecking order
5. Start playing the good kids more Vela, LJW, Ramsey, Hoyte etc
6. Djourou deserves to play too. Give Gel a breather. Kieran Gibbs
Queen of Subrubia,
Sorry – I don’t understand your point. It doesn’t make sense.
Don’t be condersending John. Rasputin is a gonner through and through
John I said first choice not first team I didn’t count Gallas, Eduardo, or Eboue..
Rob the goon.. Hi mate nice start to your blogging on here!!! arguing with me..
Imagine if dippers had the equivilent out
Gerrard – Cesc
Torres – Ade
Carrigher – Bac
Riera – Thomas
Alonso – Theo (cough!)
Pennant – Eboue (tee hee )
Cant remember the defenders name – Toure
anyway, im sure you get my drift, they would be rubbish!!
Are you a troll as well Queen of Surbubia ?
We need to strenghten in all departments.
Defense – 2 defenders tall and fast, not afraid to head the ball.
Midfield: 2 DM, plus 2 wingers,
Attack: 2 or 1 (depending on if we sel Ade) out and out attackers.
Total 6 or 5 players and possibly one top class keeper
For Sale / Loan:
Song ( speed), Dennilson (presence) , Bendtner( clumsy), Gallas (Leadership and slow), Ade? (Control but only sell if we get value so we can replace),
Oi Oi Rob lol..
Get FootMan 09. its alright. its better managing arsenal on there then watching the Real thing. its not as stressful lol
anyone else here think clichy could do the flamini job, he got the stamina, can tackle and run the ball well
ave – eboue
If Rasputin is a gooner, why does he have negative views about Arsene Wenger ?
john are you saying we should not critisise wenger because rasputin seems prettygenuine to me
* Gael
rico u made me laugh then.. comparing ade to torres lol
John i should have recognised that you wouldn’t get a subtle point. Sorry, i’ll spell it out for you.
Rasputin is an Arsenal fan. That means if he thinks Wenger is doing a poor job currently then he will critisise him.
Wenger is not Arsenal.
A more pertinent question John is: Are you an Arsenal fan or are you a Wenger fan?
John
Wenger has taken the team backwards i feel he doesnt have a strong enough No. 2 around him and too many yes men!
London – I agree with you, I think that Arsene really does have faith in this group of players – but surely 5 losses, 2 on the trot must open his eyes to some of the failings.
Did anyone have an answer to whether loan signings can happen at any time?
rico, its not working
avenell you sound like Wenger with the 50 million excuses. My patience has worn thin with his constant excuses. The man in the street knew we were well short of decent players for the last few years, what does Wenger do during the summer, he fucks off to the european championships to make more money from tv then he fucks off on holidays. The smug cunt couldnt be bothered to strenghten our team cause he thinks hes god. Well at last hes being found out and I for one am delighted to see this lying cunt squirm.
i think its only in emergencies peaches, but then against i can recall us loaning players to championship sides a few seasons back
And John, rudeness and name calling is not tolerated here.
Wenger comments following the game:
“We have no big issues – just the fact we didn’t win the game. We have a good attitude, a good spirit. We’ll turn it around.
“It’s a flattering result for Manchester City. The attitude was right because we fought very hard.
“We lacked a bit of maturity to dominate the game. I don’t think Man City created a lot. I think we were quite in control of the game.
He has completely lost his marbles.
I couldn’t care less about any of his f******* overpaid juvenile twats that he panders to as if they were made of crystal, which I suppose in many ways they are.
How people keep blaming Gallas, and no-one (in the media that is) is saying anything about the pathetic displays by this bunch of PlayStation generation losers!!!
Talent? Perhaps, but who cares if you can only be bothered to string together two or three coherent performances every now and then.
Someone should come in and stop “protecting” the Wenger kids and give us back OUR team. Wenger out! And take you kids with you.
Until this is resolved, I am out. Call me a non-fan or similar, but the Arsenal is now an experiment/investment/circus and no longer a team. And it’s certainly not the team of the fans.
Until the lies seize and we actually get a team again, I am supporting whichever team Gallas joins. Arsenal has just f****** me, and I for one won’t take it. The loyalty has been breached. I would have supported the Arsenal unconditinally battling relegation in the third division if they had just treated the fans with even modest respect. Sorry for the tone but the all of the below must go and get f******:
Wenger
The Board
Song
Eboue
Bendtner
Come to think of it…
Keep Gallas and rebuild around him. Perhaps than we would not be dominated by the random combination of plummers that we meet each weekend who seem to actually care about the result and not their hair or whatever it is that is occupying the minds of the spoiled brats that currently occuppy the SHIRT.
This is a complete relief, I officially don’t care about this particular team/coach/board/sponsors/stewards etc.
I will always love the Arsenal.
hopefully, I will have it back one day.
Keep the faith.
Gus.
Peaches, I am calling for change, I just want to Arséne to over see it.
John – give me a break! – don’t you get the gist of this site…..It’s OK to question Wenger because blindly trusting that ‘he know’s best’ is not an intelligent strategy.
The argument that says “look at trophies and titles he has won us over his fisrst 6 years can equally be countered by “we haven’t won anything for the last 4 (make that 5) seasons. I don’t want AW to go, but I perceive a significant decline in his performance ranging from deliberately making false/misleading statements to the press: to persisting with players who under perform time and time again; to making poor and ill timed substitutions – often taking off his best player for someone inferior who is asked to play out of postiton. I may be wrong – I assume you are happy with the way he has managed our club lately?
well said gus…
dont agree with building the team around gallas tho!
Rob … I have also never understood why these blogs kept telling me that Bendtner is good and just give him time. He has never been anything other than useless. As long as we play such players we deserve to lose these games. The only hope is that come January when we have reached the dizzy heights of mid-table then Wenger will at last get rid of this rubbish and buy quality … though by then quality won’t want to come to Arsenal.
Q o S – thanks for your support…christ I’m hurting tonight, possibly worse than the spuds game and I’m sure you are too. It’s my only solace to come on here and have a moan
Paulie… You sound like a bloke who changes his car every 6 months coz you don’t like the colour!!!
Arsenal is for life not just for Christmas..
Gus.J
What do you expect him to say in a post match interview? He has to appear outwardly confident but it is now time for him to act.
i dont think we need to sell or buy too much. Denilson barely got a game last season now he is a key member of the side. that wouldnt happen at Utd, Pool, Chelsea. A lot of these young players are good but we are asking too much of them at a young age. Cesc was fast tracked and it paid off it doesnt neccesarily mean that it would happen with Denilson. These players need ppl to look up to. Cesc was priviledged to train with the likes of Paddy, Gilberto, Edu etc. Denilson doesnt have that luxury. |He trains with the likes of Song
If wenger goes out NOW, two things will happen,
1. We still wont be winning anything
2. We will be whored to the uzbek cunt, all the board memebers will be replaced, and will be milked out every year.
If we sell, Bendtner, Song, and Denilson, and buy some really good players and still play Eboue at the right wing and Nasri at the left, we still wouldnt win anything.
I think the most logical and stright forward thing to do would be to keep it simple really.
Play Diaby behind the striker (Ade is the best choice hate it or love it), play Fabregas – Nasri or Fabregas – Ramsey.
Buy a proper road runner for the right wing, and a Center back for Dourou’s backup.
salary cuts for every goal let in, and rise for every scored.
seriously!
wat say rico
Queen of Surbibia,
I see, well, Rasputin is entitled to his views.
I am a Wenger and Arsenal fan.
As an Arsenal fan, my expectation level is to compete is the UEFA cup, or CL when we win a couple of league titles, but get knocked out of the 1st round, and win the occasional league cup or FA cup.
As a Wenger fan, my expectation level is to compete in the CL every year, get to the final, win the occasional double and win the premiership once every 3 years.
Get my subtle point Queen of Surbibia.
Arsenal is for life not just for Christmas. Lol, top drawer
mwt – i thought that may tickle some
Rasputin,
With the greatest respect to you, it’s easy to criticise.
I’m not saying you are not entitled to your views. Unfortunately they won’t be balanced by anybody on this site will they ?
You are not subtle John and it is insulting to imply that QoS is not bright enough to get your point. She is a respected member of this blog site and her views are valued.
You haven’t answered my question so I will repeat it – are you happy with the way Wenger’s managed our club in the last year?
john here is my subtle point..
my brother is in the top institue studying management… he hoped last year to get into a high paying job at lehman brothers, but since the firm got bankrupt he has had to bring down his expectations, it isnt so subtle if you think a bit.
Hey John – Keep it friendly, respect everyones views, and dont insult some who’s views differ with yours please. Le Grove is run like a family home, QoS is entitled to her view, as is everyone, just dont make it personal, or the Grove Sgts will be on and hoof you off
Blimey – I slip away for 15 minutes while everyone is arguing nicely and come back to find someone questioning if Rasp in a gooner and calling people ‘trolls’.
John,
If he’s entitled to his views…then don’t complain and call him a non-Arsenal fan when they don’t coincide with yours.
As for the rest of your point. Take a look around at the last 3 years and tell me if we are closer to scenario A or scenario B.
You’re an AKB. And I pity you.
And its spelt “Suburbia” by the way.
all you need on a day like today is someone like John coming on…. tremendous
If we had won 3-0 today he might have had a point…
to see the team like this tears me to shreds, especially after hearing over the years us being linked to the likes of ribery, torres, alonso, villa, lucio, mertesecker, van der vaart, and many others..whether true or not…
The fact is John, good managers adapt to the game, like fergie (hate to admit), he has changed the way man u play every few years… they pretty much play 3 up front now compared to cole and york or rvn.
Wenger in comparison has tried to make the game adapt to him (mostly in last 4 years) He’s persisted in this one style and it just hasnt paid off. I dont want him sacked but if ti were any other club he woulda been gone by now… its reminds me of pool and houlier (sorry about spelling)
ikon – personally, i would hate to see Wenger go, I would rather see him be given funds, and pick us up again – he is one of the best managers in football imho, and he will get us back where we are used to being, right now though its pretty tough for all of us
peachesgooner
im sure its just people Venting out after the shity result and the shity few weeks
LOL.. I see. You guys want to ram your views down people’s throats and then when they are reasonably questioned you threaten them with eviction.
Please evict me then. The moment I am evicted is the moment that you have lost the argument.
Arise, Sur Bibia!
Oh I see John – you think it is your duty to balance my comments??? Presumably you go to other sites and witness the overwhelming (not quite so strong of late
) support for people with views similar to you own.
This site stands alone in its objectivity and we don’t need you to moderate us. If you’d have been on here for a couple of months you would understand where the regular contributors are coming from and that we respect those with different views as long as they don’t proffer the ‘Arsene Know Best’ line because that’s just blind faith and we prefer to live in the real world.
I thought Rumplesiltskin was a troll not Rasputin!
Seriously though, people should be able to give an opinion without being insulted.
Fabianski has shown enough to say that if Alumnia isnt up to it that he is ready to step in. No need to buy a GK.
Silvestre, Djourou, Toure, If Gallas is gonna go get Senderos back from his unneccessary loan move. We dont need a CB
LB
Clichy and Traore or Gibbs do it for me
CM
Diaby, Cesc, Denilson, Song can fuck off. We are short there Xabi or Cana wld do. Ramsey good enough but too young
LM/RM
Nasri is currently our only wide man. he is in his 1st season and it was expected that he wld take a while to settle in
Walcott injured and when had patchy form
LJW good enough but too young
Rosicky long injury lay off. Return uncertain. form on return uncertain
We desperately need a wide player, it would make sense to sign sm1 that could play on both wings and still play behind the striker if needed.
Forwards
I wouldnt panic here. We have good forwards. The midfield arent creating chance for them.
We need 2 players ideally. 3 wouldnt be bad
john – you are bang out of order, if you feel none of us have balanced views, may i suggest you depart this blog for another who hangs on to your every word!
and john – READ THE LE GROVE RULES !!
RB
Sagna and Eboue do it for me
John – you wouldn’t be evicted for your views, you’d be evicted for your manners.
Fuck off Wrighty…
Seb – De Ja Vue ????
John you haven’t reasonably questioned anything, you accused a regular poster here of not being an Arsenal fan because he criticised the manager after an inpet performance resulting in a 3-0 defeat.
You haven’t given us one reason to show faith in Wenger other than refer to trophies he won over three years ago with a team that was a thousand times more committed and capable than the current one. Only a fool would argue that our team is better now than it was in 2004 or even 2006. Are you that fool John? I don’t think you are.
Give some reasoned arguments for your opinions based on the here and now, rather than simply questioning whether other people are proper fans or not.
Everyone is welcome on here whether you like the manager or not, like any particular player or not, but the watchword is respect, and you haven’t shown any.
same here rico, just that it needs him to do the things without complications and without the overhead assessment of things, which he is not used to.
Hopefully there will be a good turn in the near future.
yes john u read the plot perfectly.
cya guys
night rico
Seb – the fact is that even if we had won today it would not really have signalled anything significant – 3 points would have made us all feel better but the lack of depth in the squad would still have been there.
I don’t want Arsene to go – I want him to fix our team.
Hey Wrighty, I was thinking of changing my name to Friar Tuck, but people might think its a spoonerism!!!
*inept
i agree with almost everything u sed franchise.. almost.. I still think we need a tall commanding cb in the jaap stam mould or mertesecker.. Our ferdinand, terry, etc. We had tony adams, we had sol campbell..
I dont think we need a defensive mid. The onyl defensive mid we’ve ever had was gilberto… I dont classify veria or flamini as dm, flamster was a workhorse and just did the gatusso job with an excellent workrate where as viera just marshalled the midfield and took command… bullied even.
we just need a good no-nonsense cm that can go box to box, chip in with few goals and offer cesc support
we are REALLY missing an overmars type player.. our ronaldo i guess (it pains me to say that)
our forwards are fine… its hard to score when ur not being given the chances
I agree peaches, there are big holes in the team and it’s going to require money to fill them, there is no other way of putting it. Wilshere and Ramsey are quality but in all honesty we can’t put our hopes in 16 and 17 yr olds can we.
And for the record I think Wenger is a great man, I have always loved watching his interviews, he is intelligent determined and insightful, and he has impacted on English football in a big way, but sadly that will all count for nothing unless he gets the balance of his SQUAD right. It is going to be crunch time for Wenger and I hope he realises that. Results don’t lie.
So, can I just check – would nobody here swap Martin O’Neill for Arsene Wenger at the moment?
O’Neill’s planning to make big additions to the Villa squad in January, whereas Wenger thinks we should have beaten a team that just outplayed us to a 3-0 defeat.
If only because he’s actually in touch with reality, I’d take O’Neill in a heartbeat now.
Seb,
You make some good points, thanks for your comments.
Ok. So you are all hard core gooners in here. Apologies.
What is the expectation level then ?
Seriously boys, do you really believe we should win the PL and CL given the £584 million Chelsea have spent since Abramovich rolled into town, the £350 million (I’m guessing here), and £250 million Liverpool have spent ?
Please tell me what we should expect.
Wheres Michael P?
I think a middle of the night meeting is called for after this game!!!!
Arsenal’s once ambitious season was molded into shambles after Manchester City expertly capped a chaotic week for the Gunners on Saturday. Arsenal have been awkward, but even with their standards, a dampening 3-0 bow in Manchester was out of the blue – in embarrassment. The wildest of humiliations keep emerging from ugly to horrific.
Even an infinity thrashing of Manchester City today would fail to erase a cluttering week, and as expected, Arsene Wenger deprived Gallas a role due to the former skipper’s antics about his team. Manuel Almunia was handed the captain’s armband while Gallas’ exclusion was one of four changes. Gavin Hoyte enjoyed a rare first-team call-up, while Johan Djourou, Alex Song and Robin van Persie were all introduced.
Neither team could really boast an edge during the first half. Clumsy passes and giveaways were all over. Looks were of an ordinary stalemate. Both teams looked uninventive when they intended to attempt a breaking of the deadlock. But nature will not always be fair against failure to take the initiative – so it has been for Arsenal on several occasions.
Alex Song then had the visitor’s first grip. The Cameroonian stroke awfully wide when set-up by Nicklas Bendtner’s chest from eight yards out.
It was soon turn for the unexpected but not astonishing as Manchester City eventually rode their fortune to change the game. Almost on the stroke of half-time, Clichy and Silvestre both clashed in an attempt to clear Benjani’s scrambling pass. And Ireland was there to pounce onto it and easily beat Almunia with a side chip.
Arsenal now had a second-half storming to do. And despite a few close tries by Diaby and Van Persie, the home side hindered those comeback plans by doubling their advantage on 58 minutes. This time, Robinho owned the damage with a slick chip over Almunia after Wright Philips’ penetrating pass saw Arsenal shamefully stranded at the back.
From then on, the Gunners looked very futile with every single touch. Bendtner should have forged some hope had he shot fiercer against Joe Hart after being perfectly cleared through by Aaron Ramsey who had replaced a naive Gavin Hoyte. Mark Hughes’s men looked to have finally put Arsenal’s crushing day to end when Robinho tapped home after Almunia failed a simple catch.
But somehow, it was ruled offside, and somehow, the Brazilian ace spared Arsenal more disgrace when he later rounded off Almunia after another break and shot goal-bound, but Djourou raced to clear off the line.
Even so, Arsenal’s Swiss defender would be guilty of that likely concession of a bemusing third goal by the home side. He was adjudged to have fouled Sturridge in the penalty area during injury time.
And from the spot, the English youngster stepped up to ruthlessly ignite Arsenal’s misery.
http://arsenalspot.webs.com
John,
I expect us to at least try.
mwt it would be ideal to have everything but it doesnt neccessarily mean trophies. Barca’s GK is dodgy but they won the CL with him. Djourou is 6’4″ Senderos 6’3″ tall enough. Senderos has been an arsenal scapegoat in the past the same way that Gallas has been made one since the birmingham game. Since Campbell left he became our most commandind CB in the air. he made a few mistakes compared t other players we were to quick to write him off
Why are you telling me to fuck off Avenell??????
Sorry – the £350 million spent by Man U in the last few years.
So, John, do you then think that just because other clubs have lots of money, it’s a good idea for us not to spend any, and send out the most average, un-motivated team we’ve seen at Arsenal in the last decade and a half?
Rasputin,
How the hell did you type?
I’ve heard trolls have really massive fingers???
LOL
Night ikon
Seb – now you I listen to….. and I take your last comment as a reasonable balance to my own rather exhasperated posts on here today and will admit that you’ve made ne feel a bit disloyal to AW, but I care about the Arsenal first and the players and manager next.
On atv last night they were saying “remember when we were 12 points behind and we won the league”. There are a lot of deluded people around. this must be the weakest team we’ve had for ages. I bet £100 with a bindipper we would finish above them. If I was paddy power I’d payout now
Jimbo,
There were 9 1st team players missing from that team. Did you not notice ?
I would back Arsene until January cos I just believe that he would respond by signing the players we need
Wrighty – it’s not the only thing that’s massive – sing the words to the song Ra Ra…
If Real Madrid, Barca, Man U or Milan wanted a manager and both O’neill and Wenger were available who would they choose?
i agree no good looking back, especially to last season. The main problem is that the squad is smaller and less experienced and we have to face that.Wenger either had money or he didn’t,so it is up to him to get us out of the rut.the biggest problem are that certain players just dont get on with each other and others are being played in their wrong position.I would give almunia a rest and bedntner for a start, drop song and see what happens next.
Oh john read the rules please before you insult our pal rasputin.he plays a mean guitar :0
QoS – You ok out there ??
John – I would have settled for challenging for the league. Which was a reasonable expectation after last season when we should have won it.
I believe that Wenger needed to keep what he had and strengthen it with two new players to add competition. Instead, he allowed several key members of the side to leave and he didn’t replace them.
He overestimated the ability of Song and Diaby in particular and to a lesser extent Denilson to step up to the levels of Flamini, Hleb, Gilberto and Diarra.
Wenger has made his bed and he is lying in it…..he cannot change his ways, he persists with players like Song, Eboue etc whilst players like Ramsey, JD sit and watch the awful events of the last weeks. There is not another manager in the PL that would play either the players that he does or believe they are so talented he can play them out of position like he does.
Unless he wakes up and smells the coffee in relation to what ever honest arsenal fan can see and every other fan for that matter, we are going to slip away from the top four.
If nothing is done in January due to his stubborn nature then forget the CL next season.
Keane stuck up for Gallas today, saying that he would have no problem with it….and it is the Keane type player/attitude that is so blatantly missing from the arsenal side.
Until he stops making decisions like leaving players on when they are clearly performing badly beacuse they are his favourites…he does not have my support.
He can change this by admitting to himself he has got it wrong, start playing Ramsey, Vela and JD and not Song, Denilson etc and he will get my support back.
If he cannot admit he is wrong and sticks with these players….I am sorry he needs to go to another club and start again elsewhere, new less of life and one for arsenal
yeh barca had the quality elsewhere tho and i dunno if we do have it yet,,, and i use the word yet because i think its almost there..
Senderos did not put a foot wrong especially in cl… he just made a few high profile mistakes against drogba mainly
back onto wingers, wasnt rvp originally a winger at feyenoord? and doesnt he still play there for the dutch team?
It annoys me how wenger changes players around so much
avenell they would chose pat rice because he never says anything
I’m fine thanks Rico, far more pissed off about the result than about anything John could call me!
Yes, I noticed John.
And I also noticed, that even prior to today, with most of our squad, we’ve been pretty fucking average.
Have you not noticed that?
Ha ha Rasputin!!!!!
Wrighty your last comment before mine.. Sorry if your sensative..
9 first team players John?
Almunia, Clichy, RvP, Nasri, Denilson, Silvestre (Pretty much the chosen one) all played.
They’ve played all year… so we can’t be missing 9 of the first team can we?
I will back him aswell if he signs players in jan,but it all seems a waste of a whole year as it should have been done sooner than later.
Queen of Surbibia,
Are these your views, or are they fact ? People have quickly accused me very quickly of coming on this site and disrespecting people, but you seem to be disrespecting me, by first of all not asking me for my opinion and assuming that you know what it is, and then secondly, presenting your views as fact, whereas they are in fact, open to debate.
There appears to be a strange set of double standards on this site.
Guys – I am off for the night – lets all respect what Geoff and Pedro have done for us with Le Grove
Without it, we would all be very horrible to our loved ones
Night all, and roll on Tuesday…
I suggest – Dont watch MOTD or Football Firts, in fact just tune into Strictly Come Dancing, and then I’m a Celebrity, and then laugh……
fair enough john
The money thing is an issue, certainly. But we have barely spent anything (net) for a few years now (have a look here if you want http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=piruthZqw9z7KPOQuZ0P6Gg ) – in fact we have actually MADE around £14m on transfers since the Invincibles season. The board say we are making a profit every season at the Grove. There are funds available. How much would it take to make us genuinely competitive and bring in players that would inspire and motivate the youngsters around them? £30m? £40m? £50m? We could do that with ease.
It’s not about the money, it’s about the policy, and the current one isn’t working. We are on course for our worst finish under Wenger ever given the results we are producing. Something has to change – and the point is we can afford to change it as well. Unless the board have been lying.
enjoy strictly rico! Tom to win
Pedro,
Yes.
Walcott
Fabregas
Sagna
Toure
Eduardo
Rosicky
Gallas
Eboue
Adebayor
These are all recognised 1st team players are they not ?
Would you rather slag off the team, or would you rather have some perspective on why we lose 3-0 ?
Kelsey .. Wengers real no 2 is Boro Primorac… Ricey is just a front imo..
John,
the excuse of having so many first team players doesnt fly.
How many of those 9 can we really consider quality first team players in comparison to the first teams from 1998, 2004 etc.
We still had quite a strong team out today and lost, so the better question is that how many arsenal players deserve to be in an arsenal first team?
Villa is proving that their victory over us is no fluke. They are really holding up to manU and they might snatch the three points.
For those scared of sacking AW: Nobody is beyond sack, well except Arsene and this board. Ask Tott how they got back on their feet. Things need to change at AFC and there are plenty of replacements that can do better than Arsene Wenger.
Man Ure Villa still 0-0
i wonder what odds you would have got that not one top 5 team would score a goal today
Avenell,
Don’t be silly mate I’m only joking with ya! I’m fine mate!
How have the Totts made it up to second from bottom?
John
Rosicky and dudu were always going to be out so you shouldn’t count them as the should have had cover, Eboue should never really be considered a 1st teamer.
John,
Don’t be daft. You list assumes that you’re leaving Van Persie, at least two of Walcott, Nasri and Rosicky on the bench (because I’m guessing you’re playing Eboue at RM), and that Toure has looked remotely like a Premiership quality CB for the last year and a half.
It’s just nonsensical spin, not too different from the tripe that Wenger’s been feeding us for the last few years.
It’s time for him to go.
Avenell,
I thought we was having some banter after all the name calling earlier!
Hey Rasp – how cold is it up on the hertfordshire hillside?
John, I know you think you are the first to come on here and go against the grain… but you are not. We all have differing opinions and your condescending tone is quite irritating.
If you want to wind people up, go somewhere else… or set up your own blog. You can have as much perspective as you like there.
We like to talk football here… not wind people up like children.
On the first team:
Walcott – yes
Fabregas – yes
Sagna – yes
Toure – no
Eduardo – no
Rosicky – no
Gallas – yes
Eboue – no
Adebayor – yes
I thought rice was a reincarnation of someone who departed about 20 years ago
Villa are rubbish. The reason they are holding the mancs is because they are rubbish as well.
Wrighty .. I thought I knew ya ..
Walcott-no

That should make us all feel better…
Why dont we ever attack like that now, its as if we try and beat the team into submission with possession
Everyone, remember the rules please.
QOS Brilliant
John I dont think it is your opinion, I dont know what others think but the tone and content of your posts seem a little bit out of order. I guess that is down to the fact that we have not had you on here much so we dont virtually know you. For instance If i did not know Ethan I would probably get easily offended by his posts.
I just hope you mean no disrespect by your posts.
Avenell,
You know me matey!
steady QoS! I know a woman’s wrath and all that, but still…
*runs for the door*
Rasp – I didn’t mean to make anyone feel guilty about Wenger, why should they, he has somehow allowed things to start slipping away from him and something needs to change in order to stop the rot. I don’t know if a new CEO would help, or if the board can lay down the law a bit, but I can’t imagine he’s all washed up yet as a manager. It’s down to whether he reacts offensively or defensively to this terrible run of form.
Ironic isn’t it, Wenger is all about offensive play on the pitch, but off the pitch he is totally defensive. He needs to attack the problem by spending some bloody money, rather than backing players who are clearly out of their depth right now!
Pedro,
I thought rules were made to be broken!
You are such a bad ass Wrighty!
Seb… Wenger has a say on the CEO… how will that help?
Picking your own boss!
Yes Pedro, we know…the rules are there are no rules!
Everyone fuck off!
Just kidding. Jean Pierre. Parroting Wenger was en vogue a few years ago. Now it just looks a bit sad and devoid of thought.
The more we go towards Wenger’s true vision, the worse we get. That should set alarm bells ringing.
Shall we take a vote
Who thinks wenger can turn it around and who thinks he’s blown it.
I think it’s over for this year but I wouldn’t sack him until the summer as I’d give him the chance to prove me wrong.
mwt that almost made me cry
Eboue’s cross as well! get in there
we can’t be THAT far away from playing like that again, we just need the right blend of people to make things tick again…
I’d love to pick my own boss, I’d pick Wenger because no matter how bad I performed he would never criticise me!
I think he can turn it around. But he needs quickly to realise what we can all see.
Hi guys. Horrible performance. But I’m not pissed. If the team and Wenger aren’t interested why should we? I see Arsenal matches with no hope.
.
GUYS DID YOU SEE THE GOONER FORUMS PETITION TO SACK WENGER. WHAT DO THINK ABOUT IT GUYS?
.
ON another note today is the first time I am supporting MAN URE to win so that ASTON VILLA don’t take the 4th spot of us?
Saying that the reason we lost 3-0 was because we had 9 players missing is a bit desperate as well…
Spurdozer… a load of old bollocks mate.
whenever i feel down seb i watch that lol
and that could quite possibly be eboue’s only assist…ever lol
i think he crosses better than sanga tho
I hope so QOS I’ve gone from being a more or less akb when I arrived on this site to whatever the opposite is called (almost).
Wrighty post that spud site again let’s take it out on them….
I know Pedro, that is a bit weird isn’t it, it shows how utterly inept the board are about football matters. Dein was the only one with any idea about the game.
I read a good article today from a while ago about the event at Highbury when they dug up the squares of turf from the pitch (sounded like a great day as well) before we moved to the grove. The guy was saying how Keith Edelman gave a speech about Arsenal and Highbury, and kept getting loads of things wrong and stumbling for words, even though he had notes. And there I was thinking he was the nearest thing we had to make up for the loss of Dein at the time. We need some football nous on the board again, even if it’s just someone who can say to the boss ‘enough’s enough, buy quality or leave’
As my guvnor Wenger would explain to a customer,
“Yes, Wrighty7 broke your window but he has a good attitude and I have faith in him.
Of course he can still fix it despite it being broken in 4 million places. Wrighty7 produced a superb piece of workmanship today but was too cautious in his fitting.”
Avenell, it would be my pleasure mate!

Just arrived back in my hotel.
TODAY,I’M ABSOLUTELY LOST.
ENOUGH IS A ENOUGH.
TUESDAY< WE NEED BANNERS IN THE GROUND & A GROUP OUTSIDE THE DIRECTORS ENTRANCE MAKING OURSELVES HEARD.
WE NEED ANSWERS FROM THE BOARD.
I feel the majority of REAL fans, fortunate enough to get into the stadium & away games are treated l;ike fucking extras in a performance. Making sure their ‘theatre’ is full, raking in fortunes per game ( supposedly the highest receipts in world football) preparing to line their pockets whilst the club is now collapsing in decline.
london u quite right… but unless he changes his policy and start buying and mainly stregthen the team to retain fourth spot + to win some sort of silverware….
let us be optimistic and hope something good will come out of this mess……
l
Here is Arsene Wenger’s very bad tempered post match response
Q : On the defeat?
Arsene : “We lacked maturity… It was a flattering victory for Man City… we played into their hands. We have to try to win the next game and the one after that”
Q : On the Gallas situation?
Arsene : “ I will not speak about Gallas”
Angrily … “Why should I speak about a player who was not here!”
Q : On the positives?
Arsene : “We try to win the next game, we have to believe”
Q : On his responsibility for the poor performance
Arsene : “we are not in a blaming culture at our club, we live up to our responsibilities”
Q : Has you ever had a worse week in football?
Arsene : “No!”
i think you’re on for a record comments day Pedro?
we’re 5th now. Maybe that will ring some alarm bells
Anyone in rows M,N or P seat 320 – 338 ??
It was all getting fucking heated between wide eyed fans & AKB’s.
I had to be held back after some little fucking scroat starts fucking lecturing me that I’m a plastic fan.
When I lost it & blamed Wenger for what was happening out there & suggested that if he cant sort this then he should be out they went literally fucking mental !!
You should only fit laminated from now on Wrighty… Your too ham fisted..
We should look to get in Gareth Barry and Ashley Young. We look for Weather and Dune for defense. Aston Villa draw with ManU
Sorry guys, X Factor calls, catch up later xxxxx
confident… a. they get paid more than arsenal players
b. they wouldnt want to come to a team that is in a shamble
oppurtunity lost in alll front to close the gap…..
Any one here who wanted MAN URE to win. I was hoping for MAN U to win
CONFIDENT:
Dream on, why would Villa be morons & sell them to a club who will probably finish below them ?
Bini:
‘Close the gap’ !!
We need to spend millions to do that & get rid of at least 4 of those sub standards out there today.
I stayed til the end but helt ashamed & I’ve been watching for 40 years. Sorry if I’m sounding patronising but just wanted to state my anger to whats happening with our club.

jesus the boss has the look of a man on the edge in his interview…
I can see why he tries to play everything down, ‘flattering scoreline’, not a penalty, blah blah blah, if he comes out and says the team were not good enough but then has to play the same players next week, what good does it do them seeing that on MOTD later? It does get a bit wearing though – but I understand he has to look after the interests of the players before the fans. As far as the Gallas thing goes, I think it’s a bit poor that he couldn’t say a single thing about it. Even if he’d lied and said WG was ill it would be better than the defensive batting away of questions he does.
You just hope to god in the dressing room he tells them straight, unless he’s already realised they aren’t good enough and knows he has to keep them going until January… what a bloody mess
