He really could, I have been quite depressed about Theo’s dislocation and how it could ruin his career, I mean this is what, the third time? and he’s only 19, it doesn’t bode well does it?
So you may ask, how does that help us win the league, miracle cure? Homoeopathy? Acupuncture? No, a Wengerism is what could happen.
I think we could put Jackie boy or Ramsey in there or even Nasri and switch the other two over, but I could ‘as well’ see Wenger using this as the excuse he needs to buy the midfield player we all know we need and he can now do it without losing face.
He won’t be pressured into a signing because he’s so ‘silly stubborn’ but with Theo out for so long he can say he had no choice and go and get Alonso or Cana or someone good.
Either that or he’ll put Bitchslap in there and save our money! I have a sneaky suspicion though this could be it, so without Theo knowing, he could be the reason we win the league, he may even shock us all and buy an out and out winger from somewhere. There is probably a centre half somewhere that he can convert.
He may even buy Veloso so that when Theo’s back we have the mobile centre back we also desperately need.
I’m hoping he now realises that the treasured top 4 spot is seriously under threat and will act fast to shore up the side, and with December only a week or so away it’s not a long time until we reach the January sales, so maybe we should start speculating, or at least draw up a short list of talent we’d like to see at the Grove, we know he reads this blog so maybe a suggestion or two would not be a bad thing.
Of course Eboue plays there and Song probably does but with the injury to Sagna and the injury to Eboue that area is hopefully covered.
Good to see an Arsenal old boy scoring for England last night, another one we let get away eh? I rarely watch England anymore but when I knew Beckham wasn’t going to get yet another wasted cap I found a bar to watch it in, I hope that Capello remembers the players that mysteriously got injured and sees if they play for their clubs this weekend, and if they do says, that’s your lot son, you won’t be playing for me again.
Gutless wimps.

BBK i think they should all line up to a wall and WE shoot them to a oblivion instead
fucking good answer raif top draw mate lolllllllllll
choy it makes sense to give any player who is worth money a contract, afterall a long contract makes a player worth more than a player of even talent with a short contract
denilson has been the most consistent of all players in the past 3 EPL games ..
he is young and still has some composure .. he isn’t the finished article but he is turning it around considering he pretty much had last year off !
i wouldn’t count him out just yet he wasn’t a Brazilian captain for nothing ..
i think we should just sell a shyt load of players, but wesley sneider or arjen robben, buy a centre half, buy a dm, start using ramsey instead of denilson, play vela an ade or sell ade and buy another forward,or eduardo an ade, just stop tryin to make players play roles that dont suit them!
How can it be RVP when he’s been missing the last 2 games ??? …
i agree choy its ade !
and he is pissed with nik B … i sort of am as well … but ade faired no better for his 30 minutes the other night ..
he has given the ball the most out of all the other players denilson im sure he is not brazilian
ethan, your on a witch hunt, the whole incident stemmed from the spurs game! ade missed the last two games as well
robben is aother dutch crok so hes out the equation seems like v.p and shneider have kissed and made up
if you think ade would tell william gallas to fuck off on a set piece were defending then ur either hopin its ade or prayin its ade,you know robin has that side to him,the same way he ran up on free kicks when other players place the ball, the same way he gets himself sent off,he is the one!
kissed an made up till the next free kick situation BOY BETTER KNOW robin tellin a great right footed free kick taker to get out the way an let him have a go with his right lol ,just like when piere van hoidonk placed the ball a few years back an robbin ran up an smashed it about 100 meters over the bar
also why would RVP complain about anything ?
if i was him id shut it … as he was the one who lost his cool over the red card …
i cant see RVP saying anything … i dont think RVP would make waves especially after that
red card … ade being left on the bench whilst nik too start would be my guess …
i think some are suggesting robin got himself sent off maybe on purpose,i wouldnt put it past him,he probably didnt fancy man utd,for a player who has missed so many games and big games he didnt seem to care when he should know better about missing out
must be rvp then.. fuck why can’t gallas just tell us who the player is? we arsenal fans are already mindfucked for crying out loud!!! why can’t anyone tell us as it is!!!
ethan this was the game before the stoke game.. the game against the spuds!
ethan ade wasnt left on the bench,he was only on the bench because he had to be, robin got himself sent off,the same robin who no striker has ever enjoyed playing with ,the same guy who hates to pass the ball, robin is a bad seed,i sit behind the goal at every game and you can just know robin is disliked by many and there is good reason for it
he has told us who it is,but he doesnt want to name names, its rvp
ade was sub’d in at 60 minutes V’s villa !
after having to watch nik on the pitch fuck up for 60 minutes ..
so not sure how he missed the last game ?
yes choy i know and it was at half time , when we were in control !
why would the strikers be squabbling ?
why is robin so hated?? he hasnt done a lot wrong,he is just that type ,he has arrogance coming off him,too much for a man who has achieved fuck all
it was an argument to do with a setpiece, robin was prefering to shoot than cross the ball and then against stoke a slight argument which is why robin was so frustrated ethan
of course ade was left on the bench ! wenger went into the game with an unchanged line up that defeated man U !
ade i agree should of been included and nik rested !
but he wasnt ! wenger showed faith in nik …
also if you read the gallas interview the’ 6 years younger reference’ didn’t necessary have anything to do with the spuds game ..
the thing about robin is he has a bad temperment and he lacks respect,he talks about bein the new bergkamp but he isnt even of the correct character, dennis was a man for the team but also was of genius, van is so obsessed with goal of the season ,he should start passing the ball and being a better team player
no ade wasnt 100% ethan, wenger had no other striker
ethan, you just want it to be adebayor, own up
il tell u something,i speak regular to justin hoyte and i still do an i can promise you,its not adebayor and these arguments even go back to henrys last year at arsenal after denilson challeged thierre clumsily and when henry pointed the finger van basically had a hissy fit all over thierry
van is in a bubble,he talks nice on camera, but he believes he is diego maradonna or johan cruyff in the makin, the team followed him around for protection from thierrys evil eye for a while but he has turned into a beast over the last year
bergkamp
why is robin so hated??
thats my point too ! why pin it on RVP ? he doesn’t have any internal known conflicts with
his team mates .. and definitely wasn’t the last 25 year old in the team to play on the pitch !..
also if i were in his shoes , with the red card just behind me , i wouldn’t be screaming blue murder
over some petty incident .. and given ade’s track record … he seems the natural candidate ..
and id say it was aimed at nik …
hey i could be wrong .. but ade is controversial if nothing else ..
van has turned into the top brat,he beleives he is the star man and he shouldnt mark tightly on a setpiece,he believes he should decide if corners are taken short with cesc or he belives he should go for glory instead of pass to ade, afterall its no coincidence that van does well but the team doesnt when he is in it
ok … yes i want it too be ade !
but i cannot see RVP being a trouble maker !
he has been at the club longer than gallas ..
and too me there is no reason for it …
also if its about set pieces and gallas has a problem .. id say its about man marking the tall timber!
and ade has been fucking poor marking tall opponents !
he isnt hated,he needs a reality check,he thinks he is the new henry,he believes he doesnt need to tackle back or defend,he can stand with his hands in his pockets and as a senior no one should question him, well the team have been questioning him,and gallas is the one who has told him to pull himself together..vans reply…fuck you gallas….do u see now ethan
but ethan also notice how van is not well recieved in his homeland an a lot of his feuding on the pitch is often with other dutch men, remember hs tackle on his international colleage jimmy floyd a couple years back
RVP has been our best player this season. Scored goals, set up goals, and even in his scoreless games he’s had chances. All this and he’s still been rusty in open play at times. He can’t help doing good though, such is his class.
I bet Justin has a few more stories to tell though….
remember the sheffield united player punching him in the ribs, remember the blackburn defender knocking him the fuck out,van just oozes with the stuff that makes a man hated, its the way he walks, the way he looks at people, rival fans hate him,but why?? its in his chemicals
to be honest all this seasons chances have fallen to van,our best performances were without him like last season!
paulinho hardly.. he has not been the best player of the season!!
i think all strikers need a bit of spite .. but gallas’s message is cryptic and i spose leaves the door
open for debate .. but it has been a good debate bergkamp !
Bergkamp – What’s the point in accusing Ethan of the same thing you’re doing.
We’re all guessing what’s going on and that’s Gallas’s only mistake, try and gee up the team point out what we need but putting in a quote like that, that’s going to be ripped apart by the media and used to only their benefit he was wrong.
These things happen all the time but we don’t hear about them, if he wanted it to be known that some of the younger players need to be more mature than he should’ve made his point clearer.
justin hoyte is a nice fella but a bit of a square,he could never play for arsenal, too sensible!
keyser,i know its rvp,i have been told its rvp by people who saw this coming ages ago
Did Hoyte say anything else interesting bergkamp?
i promise you,its rvp,off the pitch michael essien william gallas and emanualle adebayor are best mates, ade has always worked hard for the team, there is no reason for him to insult team mates and insult his captain, its not even his nature, ade is a nice guy, robin is the militant big head,he even cuts his hair an measures it with a ruler,he is evil
paulinho to be honest a player dont really know a lot more than us,he is from a very nice family, all well spoken people,he isnt flash, his brothers doin well, they are all gooners, theres just same kind of stories as what youd get in most walks of life, except more money an more girls involved
I was told if you read the interview in full rather than just reading the little bits the press like to use to attack arsenal then it shows Gallas is referring to the game against spurs last season, in which case the two 25 year olds playing were Eboue and Eduardo, RVP was injured back then.
So what if it’s Van Persie, you’re going over the top with this, like with the free-kick thing, he takes them because he’s probably the first player you look to, to actually take one.
Hoyte’s gone and it’s second hand gossip at least, LoL measure his hair cuts..
the young squad did feel relieved when henry left, but as its gone now van has started to fill this void but he isnt henry,he cant act in such a way
He has the quiff of evil ?!
keyser all im sayin is is that this player is having a bad relationship with the team, the manager knows it,the players have questioned the managers selection behind his back, this player sits almsot alone at arsenal now,and he is playin a vital role in the team, the future looks great!
the evil quiff of tintin
I bet Ramsay is thinking, “what crowd of lunatics have I joined?”
rvp is unable to accept criticism, thats what the problem is,he points the finger
TinTin wasn’t so bad..
ramsey must be thinking if only sir alex was at old trafford instead of gary neville when i went there for talks
If I was Ramsey I’d be loving it, look at the Crazy Gang must’ve been a laugh, can you imagine facing up to Eboue’s stepovers in training ? Or Adebayor doing his Milan dance after scoring ? Toure just constantly happy..
Or trying to keep a straight face while Eduardo has his facila tick going, Vela who’s just like Toure and seems constantly happy, Song in slooow motion..
i like the van but he needs to stop usin that ruler on his hair and stop fixing his socks every time he kicks a ball, and he needs to just work harder when we dont have the ball, and sometimes cross his free kicks instead of killing people in the upper tear, thats all oh and close down the oposition! and dont attack team mates, and stay out of strip clubs, and dont be at anfield when ur injured watching your mate babel on the bench when you could be team bonding at eboues pad
ramsey is probably thinking it would of been nice to get a medal this season ..
i know that for sure !
and our current crowd of lun’s will never make the cut , gallas is just trying to dislodge a few fingers
so who reckons gallas will be gone in january?? PSG?
has anyone got a link to the full interview? seeing as the press like to talk complete bollocks and their history recently of completely twisting interviews and such like to continue their very odd attack against arsenal, especially gallas and wenger, makes me query the validity of the quotes. I could imagine Gallas or Wenger coming out tomorrow saying that they are complete bollocks, or taken completely out of context. It seems weird to me that every quote is the same, supposedly taken from an interview with The Associated Press, who don’t have a single article that mentions Gallas’ name in the last week when you search for it.
i still reckon we should cash in on van an maybe nikki B instead of ade,see how eduardo is doin, ade an eduardo looked good last season, buy a proper centre half
Fabregas has the facila tick going on as well during games.
Bergkamp, you missed out on wiping his forehead with arm.
Well whateva the case , im glad gallas came out and rattled some cages ..
at least he isnt in denial !
Its times like this you see he still has the drive to want to win !
and that can only be good for the team !
so over all im happy with the dose of reality ..
vela must be glad he cant understand a word of whats going on
ade still represents about 20 mil on the transfer market ..
and on his wages i would be grinding the axe if i was wenger …
nik still is only 19 and if he can learn too finish his chances he would have already surpassed ade on skill ..
im glad gallas did it as well, this could be whats needed to put us on the glory trail, tony adams once said to dennis bergkamp on the team coach you play well but when are you gonna win us something, that season we won the league, maybe this will put van on a mission
Yeah what the fucks that all about, wiping your forehead with the sweatband on your arm, madness, pure madness.
I’ve never noticed Fabregas’s one how bad is it ?! If it works and the team work well together next game or for a few games after, great job Gallas, if not he’s a bit of a cock.
but ethan if he dont hand in a transfer request it will cost us the 20 mill payin out his contract if we sell him
id be pissed if i was vela .. he can obviously see we havent got a clinical finisher in the squad .
he should be pissed more than anyone .. it took him 3 years to get a work permit ..
he probably wishes he had stayed in Spain !
I still can’t believe people think Gallas is the problem. You can tell looking at his face that he’s completely tuned in during games, like’s got cramps or something. While Clichy has the thousand yard stare…
lol paulinho, van wipes it on his shirt sleeve, not even an ade style wrist band
I don’t think it’s learning to finish ethan, nik just needs to get some confidence when playing for us, you can see playing for Denmark he just looks like a completely different player. Ade will never be one of the top strikers in the game, though we do need him at the moment. If nik and vela settle in, VP stays injury free, and eduardo returns from injury then we’ll see ade leave in the summer I’d imagine.
Does anyone know if eboue is fit for sat? I heard he was having a fitness test on friday, but in the kolo article on the main website it says he’s injured, but not a quote from wenger saying that. Is it just that the article writer didn’t know eboue could be back or has some recurrence happened??
id go for ade an vela on saturday, van on the right wing, theres enough in ade vela van an nasri to change that round 3 or 3 times if it dont work out
wenger can frustrate ade into leaving ..
just play vela – RVP – dudu even theo ..
I personally think nasri would be good as a forward , then just get another winger ..
thats another option wenger might look at ..
LoL at Clichy, what is a thousand yard stare ? I don’t think Clichy has one, yeah Gallas gets an unfair share of the blame but he took the Captain’s armband so should know about the English public’s weird fixation on it.
I bet you Vela’s loving it aswell, he’s scoring goals you score in playgrounds and Wenger’s created almost a buble around the Carling Cup team, just go out and play your socks off.
at the moment we need ade because he’s our best defender on set pieces
bergkamp vela will never play after an international week, previously he hasn’t even been in the squad at times. He finished his match at 3 o clock thursday morning, and incredibly jet lagged etc.
He hasn’t got a sweatband on his arm you sarcy git
Roy Keane slagged off Darren Fletcher publicly. I don’t remember the United fans slagging him off then.
Keane would blow his brains out if he was captain of this side!
A …i hear that,ok well we will have to play ade upfront with nikki-b,robin on the right,we might as well all out attack city, they are just like us
bendtner is better than ade defensively at set pieces, i still can’t believe ade against fenebache, marking their most dangerous player and he just didn’t give a shit didn’t even try, unforgivable
i dunno,i think van is a real life starwars character,i think he is darth vaders secret apprentice
I wouldn’t mind vp on the flank, but he could never play midfield in 4-4-2. We could play a 4-5-1, 4-3-3 type barca thing though, with vp right and bendtner left, nasri and diaby central with denilson behind. We tried that sort of thing in pre season but havn’t used it this season, maybe now is the time!! Against City we won’t be able to stop them scoring, they’re too good offensively, we just need to go out to score more than them!
Thousand yard stare was somethign Vietnam veterans got. They were so fucked up mentally they looked in another world when people tried to talk to them.
In Clichy’s case it indicates he’s a dozy bastard.
maybe we should play nikki an ade at centreback an play gallas an sylvestre upfront
This Gallas thing is very poor. As an Arsenal supporter I’m disappointed he went to press with this. Is he hoping that someone from outside The Club is going to help fix it
This sort of stuff should be in house.
clichey scored 2 in 3 games, see u wait for ever for 1 then the floodgates open
gnarly i’d wait to find out what wenger/gallas say about it before people jump to conclusions about gallas “going to the press”. Has anyone actually seen the interview other than the very selective quotes the media love to pick out?!
A
i agree , nik B seems like a kid with his hand forever caught in the cookie jar .
i think theres tension between him and ade ..
they compete for the same spot .. both are of similar build ..
and both really have a similar skill on the ball ..
just ade commands the focus .. i remember last year he said it was a dream playing behind flamini – hleb and cesc , he only had to nod and the pass came in … sometimes with cesc it just arrived like telepathy ..
fuck ! we all know what he did with 90 % of the chances …
but that’s always been my bugbear with him ..
if you get the focus of passing in the final 3rd your going to eventually score . given enough opportunities ..
this year they haven’t come for many reasons .. RVP is back – our midfield is just a skeleton of its former self .. lack of experience .. i think you just need a change ..
some different faces starting with a new strike arrangement ..
then some goals might start flowing ..
i think they tried settle it in house but the orange man who smokes herb in the amsterdam cafes is using his darkside sith lord powers on the rest of the squad
what do people think the team will be on saturday? gotta imagine djourou will move to right back, song centre mid, and then just vp and ade up top. ramsey and wilshere to come on at some point though
A, the press never let facts get in the way of a good story.
I suspect Wenger will use your line of reasoning to tak the sting out of the story. Stripping Gallas would only bring more attention to our beleagured troops.
Keane wouldn’t blow his brains out. he’d be loving it aswell, everyone would, happy happy singing happy happy..
Can you imagine him watching all these kids playing their football and when someone hurts them he has to go and sort them out, it’s his ideal job, be the teams hardnut, bully the opposition sit back and watch them do the rest.
I don’t think he’s got a thousand yard stare, Clichy’s at his best when he’s going all out and is on his toes, it’s like he gets bored finds the simple things monotonous and loses concentration, he’s got like two gears Super-human and then daydreamin..
i agree robin is the kost talented forward, but his movement on the pitch is kind of takin away from cescs game also because he falls deep into them areas where a play maker would go,this is one reason hadly any chances are being created by cesc
Alumunia
Djourou Gallas Silvestre Clichy
Denilson Song Diaby Nasri
RVP Ade
Shit team but that’s what Wenger will do.
city will come at us !
they have a half decent team and a great striker robinho .. petrov – elano .. kompany ..
it will be tough , especially currently with our form slump …
i hope gallas can muster something from all of this .. i see it as a kick in the pants that’s needed
and i applaud gallas for going public ..
whatever the team is on saturday i hope they can win, thats all, infact id play the team that beat wigan
i agree about tension ethan, i think bendtner still doesn’t get on with most of the first team squad, their body language towards him still isn’t quite right. That’s a part of why he looks so much better and happier playing with the league cup team.
I personally just think that people underestimated Hleb last season. Last year he was one of the best midfielders in europe, he made things incredibly easy for Cesc too. The other difference is theo, though he is an incredible player by himself, we’ve not had someone so direct since overmars, and our style of play from last year doesn’t suit him. Theo being in rather than two wingers who roam centrally has a massive impact on Cesc’s contribution, and Nasri is hit and miss, and hasn’t adapted to the hleb role as such and our unique style of play
A
Fair point. But, where there is smoke……..
Keane would have no patience for the likes of Diaby and Denilson. Their lack of defensive urgency would lead to an ak47 being aimed at their heads, full metal jacket style.
I would say that Gallas as a leader is finished.
nasri dont even play the same position as hleb though
I agree with that formation Paulinho, though it’ll be Denilson and Song holding and Diaby and Nasri roaming around in front of them. It doesn’t look incredible on paper, but I think it’s the best team Wenger could pick, unless he was to go with the 4-5-1/4-3-3 with Bendtner left Vp right Ade up top.
ethan petrov is injured and elano has had a big fall out with hughes, so hopefully vassel will keep his place and all the chances will fall to him like their last match! Doesn’t matter how good SWP robinho and ireland are if everything they create ends up at vassel’s feet!
il be honest,i think a few of the squad have fallen out with van,but i think gallas has problems and he is tryin to get out of england
Where there is smoke…..there are mirrors.
he does bergkamp, both came to us from previous clubs primarily as central attacking midfielders in more contintental systems, just as Rosicky and Pires did before them, but in our system all of them play either right or left midfield and roam centrally
Roy keane would be a great manager of Arsenal, but there would be a lot who would disagree.
“nasri dont even play the same position as hleb though” = not as good as Hleb at this point.
ha ha A you know you have cursed us,vassel will score now, just like kevin camball did for forest, and so did jason pineapple head lee
Vassel is pretty decent when from time to time.
nasri plays left, theo sits in hlebs position on the right, its a different system, cesc plays too far back but the biggest difference to the team is van persie, often crawling around no where near the penalty area when theo is cuttin in with the ball, and when he is there how many times does he miss the target lashing the ball instead of just making sure
yeah i agree paulinho, nasri shows flashes of brilliance, but is leagues below what hleb was last season. Though it took both hleb and pires a good 18 months to settle completely, just gotta make do until that happens and hope rosicky is back sooner rather than later!
you’re right bergkamp, i apologise profusely, vassel will get a hattrick on saturday now i’ve written him off to such an extent!
Roy Keane/ Vieira with an Ak 47 or at least some sort of cattle prod would be what they need.
Dunne is missing, but they’ve got pace and power almost all over the place the only thing is they don’t quite have the teamwork, they’ve got enough pace on the attack to rip us apart.
lol A it always happens,we love helping out the useless fuckers like dirk kuyt and darren bent
were gettin strongly linked to arshavin again,if we sign him i will not be happy ,well if we dont sign a tough tackler
A, I have a feeling he will try out Diaby centrally. Nasri hasn’t played right before, neither has Diaby. Denilson has.
Apparently they are all interchangeable though, so everything will be fine…….
It’s only a different system because theo has improved individually so has to play, but is a completely different to Hleb. The reason Cesc is so deep is because Hleb used to come sideways/back and bring him into play, whereas Theo goes straight forward and Cesc gets left behind. It has nothing to do with Denilson, or anyone else, but just that Hleb was incredible, and Nasri won’t settle for a long while, and theo is completely different player. I can see a midfield of Nasri Cesc Denilson Diaby which I’d imagine It’ll be with Theo out or maybe Eboue right Nasri left at times, so basically exactly the same as last season bringing us back to the way we played last year. As such Theo’s injury could be a blessing in disguise
Paulinho Nasri has played right, for France, Marseille, and this season for us a couple of times! Nasri and Theo switched as well a game or two ago, can’t remember who against, maybe even against villa??
but robin dropping deep doesnt effect the team?A
Ah yes, fenerbache as well. Silly me.
I dunno keyser, I can’t remember the last time we were ripped apart by a team trying to play football with pace. The sorts of technical players City have are usually the teams we are very solid against. Ironically the player who’s improved us in the air defensively in Silvestre is the one who is our week link against pace and skill!
watch villa will be 4-0 down at half time against man utd
Is RVP available for this game, anyone?
it would be an interesting season for theo if hleb was still at arsenal
yep gnarley,3 games wigan man utd and villa, ban done
A, Villa did a pretty good job of it on saturday.
i dunno bergkamp, not really. although eduardo was fantastic around the box, he also dropped deep a fair bit, and adebayor last and this season has occasional delusions of being a bergkamp or thierry in his playmaking abilities dropping very deep and invariably tackling or intercepting our own players and just generally getting in the way! I wouldn’t say the forward interchanging is THAT different, but it’s just the way the ball is arriving from the midfield has changed the whole shape of us when we attack
Cheers Bergy, I’ll put him back in my Fantasy Team
nah paulinho, Villa did an incredible defensive job on us and hit us on the break. City are a footballing team, Villa played essentially with a keeper, 7 defenders, and 3 forwards, and just broke very well with the 3 forwards. City won’t be able to kick foul and nullify us like villa did, saturday should be a much more open game. City don’t have the players or mentality to do what Villa did, only an O’neill team could do that in that way!
i would rather see vela or eduardopartner ade, robin drops deep but only to get the ball an be greedy,he is no bergkamp altho he will say he is on the team game,i prefer the old fashioned time of partnership, like smith & wright, ade & ed
gnarley maybe you will get extra van points this week coz he did drive gallas mad
i agree bergkamp, and I think wenger thought hleb would still be here. Theo is a brilliant player, and is getting much closer to being world class, but I still think it’s a bit early and he’s not ready yet to play every game and play well enough to make a difference game in game out. I think Wenger expected Rosicky back, and Hleb to stay, and then we’d have theo and nasri who could be brought through gradually, but unexpected circumstances have occured and forced theo and nasri to come through earlier than intended!
A could you see wenger havin a serious look at a player like arshavin who is very much the hleb type who holds the ball till the ideal moment?
ade is never gonna be a 30 goals a season striker again i dont reckon but he would be a hard working partner for a top marksman and we know he would rise to the challenge if we needed him to like last season,im just so dissapointed with van after the stoke game, i just think he is wasting his own talent with a stinking attitude thinking he is the absolute bee’s knees
yeah definitely bergkamp, he would be great. Though I do fear that he could also take a while to settle in so wouldn’t fix our problems immediately. Could happen though. I reckon whether or not Wenger splashes the case on that type of player will depend on Rosicky. If as hoped he’s back better than he’s ever been at the start of January then I’d be shocked if anyone was brought in in that position, but if he suffers another occurence I’m sure someone will be brought in. I’d love us to sign Elano but I doubt City would sell to us.
i dunno bergs, i wouldn’t say his stokeness is him thinking he’s the bees knees (though he is undoubtedly a bit arrogant). So many wonder talents like rvp have had the sort of temperament where they would do something like that bourne of frustration when things arent going great. Wrighty, Cantona, even the great Bergkamp had the occasional red card for a petulant kick off the ball when things were going badly….
what on earth is “his stokeness”?! thing something went wrong there, i’m inventing words now
elano would be good,he can beat the first defender with a corner too, i just think our next few results will make a major impact on our spending policy stayin the same or changing in jan, if we drop more points they are gonna spend to keep us in the top four because once u drop out of the top four financially it will be hard to get back in
i know about the petulant kick but van is a player who knows what missing big games is all about, you think he would have some self control, and also you think he would try respect the captain bein that he is a bit older than some of the younger players an should be setting examples
I dunno bergkamp, i think players returning will have the biggest impact on our season. If Rosicky returns there’s no way we’ll sign an attacking mid/winger. We could sign Yaya if he’s available but I very much doubt we’ll sign a centre mid just for the sake of it, it’d have to be a top player and I can’t see who would be available. We could possibly sign a centre back but I doubt it as Wenger won’t want to offload any of our current 4 centre backs mid season
i agree, arsene doesnt make opositions players available,he is a bargain man, that stuff dont happen in jan, this window is all about usuin your finances to make teams sell, its just not our way!
right thats it for me,no doubt tommorow will expose more light on what is what,i expect any cracks will be lined over where they can grow wider still
This is an interesting read. Which Grover is The Insider

laters ladys an gents! have a good friday!
see ya bergy
His stokeness, his highness, it works A!
There’s no such thing as a Hleb type really. He’s unique. All the rest have an inclination to score, like Arshavin, Rosicky etc. Hleb is happy drifting around the pitch.
god that article is annoying. Villa came to the emirates and beat us because they played one of the most defensive systems I’ve ever seen, and the ref bottled it and let them foul us all day. They were not brilliant and skillful! If the ref had had some balls then Barry, Sidwell, and Agbonlahor would have been booked after 20 minutes for persistant fouling, and Barry and Sidwell wouldn’t have been able to stop us playing by keeping on with the fouling, and Agbonlahor would have been too stupid to stop fouling and would have been sent off!
night bergs
yeah i dunno paulinho, obviously there are no others exactly like Hleb, but there are players who could fill his role and do a sililar job playing in a “free role”. Nasri has shown glimpses of the potential for doing it at times, and Cesc even said in the villa program something along the lines of being able to see his on pitch relationship developing if Nasri continues to roam more centrally. Rosicky will make a massive difference if/when he’s back. We just need someone to roam and fill and create space, as previously Theo just gets the ball on the right and runs really fast, and Nasri is still learning the english game, and does have alot of nice touches but often not in the areas of the pitch where he can make a difference. He needs to get involved more centrally, like Hleb did.
Morning guys..
all set for a 100-99 win?
Now that wenger is talking up Djourou, we can hope of a few less saves (or attempted ones ) from our Goalie.
But I do think Fabianski is the answer and not Almunia.
That penalty save not withstanding, he has been beaten on a no. of occassions from set pieces from which he shud have come forward to cover.
frankly i think we are missing hleb a lot more than i initially thought
strip gallas of captaincy! he’s a tosser..
yea Ikon hleb is being missed!
