Cesc should be sold, he’s past his prime, wake up Arsene.

by & filed under Uncategorized.

Cesc Fabregas has been a great servant to Arsenal but at 21 years old, I fear we have seen the best of him and Arsene Wenger should wake up to that fact and get what he can for him before he gets to 24 and like Flamini goes for nothing.

I am of course joking!!! But with this group of young ‘uns coming through it does make you wonder how on earth we’ll keep them all happy, the average age of the team against Wigan was 19! I was at the match and have since watched it twice, and each time I see it, I see more than I did previously.

I look at some of them like Wilshere, Ramsey and Vela and already think they are better than Denilson, Song and Bendtner, I’m not suggesting that we get rid of any of them, but we really are getting a little spoilt for choice.

I have been crying out for an experienced signing, a centre back and a hard tackling midfielder, I still think that would be the right move for domination but I can understand Wenger’s reticence if what we saw against Wigan is what he sees day in day out, but on Arsenal TV last night Frank Warren was on and he said we need to win some silverware and getting close every season is not what the fans want.

I thought we could lose against Wigan, but the kids tore them apart, it could have been 10 if it wasn’t for the brilliance of Kirkland, the kids shoot when they see the posts and that’s what our first team could do with doing.

If he’s not going to buy, then he should start to take a chance with some of these boys, instead of the sort of team he sent out against Stoke which was shocking and deserved to lose.

Some muppet came on here yesterday and said ‘my how the mood changes when we win’ really? what does he expect then? That’s all we ever wanted, we never questioned the kids, we only questioned the tactics, we were awesome against Wigan, if we’re not awesome against Villa and Chelsea then he should try fielding some of these kids.

I had my doubts about Simpson, he’s similar to Defoe but with strength and pace, Djourou should feature more than he does and maybe Vela should start up front with Bendtner, we have all the ingredients, we just need to make the right selection, after Wednesday, I think we’ll see him mix it up more.

I hope we avoid the big boys and draw the Spuds, they won’t be that lucky again.

I hope the Manchester result will kick us on and I hope the first team will now start to look over their shoulders, and if Capello had a hair on his arse, he would put all 8 of those kids in the under 21′s!

A final word for Ray Wilkins, you disrespected the competition you shiny headed muppet, way to go Burnley!

Have a great day Grovers, we’re going on one of those runs that will see us topping the table by Christmas.

Le Exchange Line: We still have Villa tickets available in club level… e-mail for more info.

In order to clear up some issues surrounding this I caught up with Pedro from the famed Arsenal blog Le Grove.

    WOW FAMED ARSENAL BLOG :)

  2. choy

When is le grove going public .. I would need stock options ;)

Seriously you guys.. pedro and geoff .. a wonderful wonderful blog.. i have met so many wonderful people on here who share the same if not more love for ARSENAL!!!!

Look at Maciek another new buddy!!

    Thank you le grove!

  3. kelsey

Geofff 2 questions did you go to the spuds in 71 when we won the league, first leg of the double.

how do these southport wankers get on this site.

  4. choy

    Wigam.. i like that rico

Carew looks like a doubt.. but i think we need to be wary of young’s crosses!! high balls!! here they come again!!

  5. kelsey

Maciek there are quite a few of us over 50′s on here, all from different parts of the world and all supporting our great club through thick and thin.
Geoff and Pedro make this possible and make it unique by contributing as and when they feel fit.

  6. avenell

Maciek…. Don’t forget Wenger is the only top 4 manager who would trust your friend Fabinaski at such an early age.
One of the reasons we haven’t won anything is Wengers trust in his young players, you cannot have it both ways.

    But long term… :)

Pedro won’t talk to us now he is famous.. ;)

  7. Geoff

Thanks Choy touché! Kelsey no, I had to listen on the wireless that night, getting a ticket then was tougher than it is now!

  8. rico01

bergkamp – what a performance from Song, he must feel like he has been on Strictly Come Dancing after a good performance, until Craig revell-Horwood gives him a 3

    !!!!!!!!! :)

  9. bergkamp

its true this is the best blog, its an honest blog, the others just get vicious an are written by new fans an secret anti-AFC vultures

  10. Rasputin

    Hi grovers one and all.

I haven’t posted for a couple of days – mainly because I was a bit pissed by the feverish search for negatives by some folks after the Wigan game. My view is that it was great entertainment and should be enjoyed for that alone. It was good to be free of the angst that surrounds ‘first team’ premiership performances.

Like O’Neill, ‘Arry always has an impact when he joins a new club and teams are carried along on a wave of optimism, but sooner or later it wanes and the ‘purely motivational’ managers are found out (could include Keegan as the best example). The bookies are now over optimistic for the spuds chances this season in direct proportion to the pessimistic view of Arsenal’s chance and long may it last – I’d rather prove everyone wrong than flatter to deceive time and again.

  11. kelsey

That’s why i asked geoff.there were tens of thousands locked out that night,i had a ticket luckily and in fact it was easier to get a ticket for the cup final a few days later.

  12. bergkamp

see what i mean, thats our first clean sheet for ages,id play song & djourou on saturday ,id play gallas left back coz that gael fella well he’s rubbish at gettin up an down the wing innit

  13. bergkamp

you lot talking bout the first game you attended? i cant remember mine but i sat on front row the day the new north bank opened an that fat wanker mickey quinn scored a hat trick

  14. Rasputin

    I wasn’t happy choy I must say.

I’m actually a bit of a softie and I would have hated the idea of Simpson reading what had been written about him on here after what I’m sure he thought was the best game of his life. We should let these youngster enjoy their moments of glory. One thing is for sure, he has the hunger and desire. Whether he fits the Arsenal model only time will tell, but I love him for loving playing for the Arsenal!

  15. rico01

    choy

Nik V’s Simpson – Both could be awesome

And only THEY will prove to us and themselves if they will :)

Long may they both try, and long may they both suceed….

  16. bergkamp

i tell you what rico, that kid song has the positional brain of tony adams and he will will put his head places where nelson vivas wouldnt put his foot, real madrid i tell ya

  17. Maciek

    Bergkamp-great joke!!!!!Haahahahahahah.
But, come one- WHY EVERYONE HATES SONG AT THIS BLOG. He isn’t so bad, ok he isn’t Vieira, but give him some time. WHY IS SONG SO HATERED HERE? I DO NOT GET IT. YOU are all to cruel to him.

  18. Geoff

I’m watching the Wigan game for the forth time and I’m at the 69 minute and just saw the Vela goal, fuck me, the Simpson one before was just as good, Ramsey Vela and Wilshere have to start or at least Ramsey has to, he’s twice the player Denilson is sorry.

And I thought Denilson was awesome against the Mancs.

  19. rico01

Rasp – you old tinker ;) and Paulinho… I reserve my right to silence :)

bergkamp – i take it you mean that Song’s brain is within his head, or is it a tad small …..?? ;)

  20. avenell

When you say Song has the positional sense of Tony Adams..
Do you mean he should be positioned in Portsmouth? ;)

I quite like Song though, so that’s not funny,, :(

  21. Rasputin

Maciek – some people may hate Song for repeatedly giving what they consider to be sub-standard performances, others think he is a good stand-in for CB but often gets played out of position. I think the problem is that we can all recall a player who AW has persisted with despite never really deserving their place in the side and Song seems to be ‘that player’ this season.

  22. bergkamp

song has the cygan disease, philipe contract it too,one moment of concentational lapse an its a guaranteed goal conceded or red card, even if they having a good game, its the cygan disease! i think martin keown suffered it once but between mr wenger an rioch they cured him

  23. Geoff

Simpson is like Defoe but stronger and faster, big heart too, just wish he’d sack the Hitler tash..

No one hates Song, I just don’t think he’s any good, and certainly not a patch on Djourou, but I would never hate an Arsenal player, well maybe Cashley!

  24. bergkamp

the thing about song is,we need to put him on a season long loan, and judge him from a far distance, surely everton or west ham or newcastle could do with a player who lets be real,he can still probably pass the ball better than most englishmen, thats what song needs!

  25. London

I was at White heart lane in 71 and I seem to remember you paid at the gate; that was the reason why there were so many at the ground. I was very young and went on my own it’s the most scared I have ever been of being crushed.

  26. Rasputin

I can’t forgive Song for not taking a yellow card and bringing down that little shit Jenas (he always scores against us) before the 3rd spuds goal. He was too slow so he gave up the chase and ran off at a tangent for some reason.

  27. choy

Song is a bit too slow to play at our regular speed. Having said that he is not the problem.
He is not at fault for being chosen to play!

  28. bergkamp

rasputin i couldnt agree more,he was all high 5′s and he let that ass groper get away an outpace him like that after bein on the pitch for only 5 minutes, but i think songs confidence just hasnt adapted as well as some of the younger players,he hasnt found a bond in the first team but he never lets us down when playing with younger players!

  29. Maciek

Avenell- I respect Your opinion but what if Wenger’s experiment will fail. If Fabregas will be off to Barca, Clichy, Sagna. alos will be gone. I don’t want Arsenal to be seen as a stepping stone. And I think, that CL is essential to us. Only if we win it- we will be considered by other european teams as a so-called big club. Don’t get me wrong- I love Arsenal and We are a BIG CLUB, and winning CL isn’t everything but something is missing. Just my humble opinion.

  30. chozzer

just seen the Pedro post on the bleacher report. It reminded me of how brilliant the atmosphere was at both the spuds and manc games. I do so love going to live games.
Pedro’s solutions to the lack of atmosphere seem to fit into the ironic nature of this Cesc post. Nice one.

  31. kelsey

I watched simpson again, and i wouldn’t give up on him,in fact i was impressed.he is a natural striker always willing to have a go.his first goal was not easy, the second he took like a proven striker and his shot that hit the upright wasn’t bad either.only 19 and hungry,I AM NOT MAKING ANY COMPARISONS,but i like him.

  32. Rasputin

I agree Bergie – Song played OK on tuesday, but I noticed that JD kept talking to him and encouraging him – almost directing him actually. I think JD should have been captain for the game. He is mature beyond his years and doesn’t panic like Kolo and Eboue do sometimes.

  33. bergkamp

vela is gonna be the man, simpson is full of talent but due to the age of the current pecking order i dont see a future for him at arsenal but he could turn into one of them who u kick yourself 3 years later for letting them go!

  34. avenell

Maciek… I hope i am not sounding rude, but why Arsenal?
Where I lived it was Spuds or Arsenal.. A few who thought they were hard men supported West Ham and a few playboys supported chelsea…

  35. bergkamp

rasputin, johan djourou is blinding, the loan to birmingham actually damaged him last season,he was playing well but the team was conceding and they were playing 3 centre halfs and wing backs,it didnt help him the whole experience but if you look at his height and frame he just has to keep improving and he could well turn into a simular defender to rio-f ,maybe song is siular to kolo in the sense that what he needs is a good leader and a guide on the pitch, kolo would have followed keown to war on any given night, gallas doesnt seem to install the fight into kolo

  36. bergkamp

song looks too heavy ,not fat, just heavy like he should be lifting up cars at the world strongest footballer contest

  37. bergkamp

lets talk about ramsey, this kid has the boot of an italian the fight ,the vision of one dutchman and can hold the ball till the final moment like one belarus bloke, and he aint a pussy either

  38. rico01

I have had a busy old day and got to visit my duvet for a few hours…….

Night night Grovers – thanks for being there :)

  39. Rasputin

I agree again Bergie – for me, JD should be a regular in the team, but while Gallas is captain, that’s not going to happen. Gallas was a proper captain against the mancs and led from the front – if he can do that every game I’ll be happy. I think Gallas has to play alongside either Sylvestre or JD unless Kolo can rediscover his form of past seasons.

  40. peachesgooner

I have to say that I think that Song is just too slow to be an Arsenal player, if he was only played as aCB then fine but we know that Arsene is going to put him in mid-field from time to time and he doesn’t cope with the speed of the game.

  41. bergkamp

the thing about gallas is he hasnt embraced his job, this isnt 1-0 shut up shop start the high fives chelsea, the strikers do their job an score 4,his job is to organise the defence (despite helping the forwards out an scoring) and make sure they dont concede more than 3,this is what sol could do,tony definantly could do,an mr keown would have done, but william gallas is a high 5 type of man,he celebrates early with the forwards!

  42. Rasputin

bergie – were you and I separated at birth? I was championing Ramsey on here a month ago and good a bit of stick from none less than our revered Pedro (I forgive him cos he’s a top bloke – just doesn’t like admitting he’s wrong ;) )

  43. bergkamp

i just think we should try get alex song a loan deal, maybe to celtic or someone who plays big games infront of big audiences,he needs experience, then we can sell him

  44. London

Gilberto wasn’t fast but he played that DM role rather well; I think he even won a world cup medal if memory serves. Just a thought.

  45. Rasputin

Peaches – you are right about Song, not only slow of movement, but I think his ‘football brain’ is slow. I’m not saying this to be insulting, but it is one of those things you either have or haven’t got – it can’t be improved by hard work or training.

  46. bergkamp

rasputin ramsey is gonna be good,i think if wenger doesnt buy in january its because the village Ram is gonna be bossing the midfield behind cesc very soon

  47. Rasputin

Gilberto was positionally astute and could read the game well and snuff out a threat before it developed – at the moment Song doesn’t have that in his armoury.

  48. London

It’s too early to write Song off. When he started the game against West ham he played well. We need to see a bit more of him. And just in case you think Song is a hopeless cause I remind you that that was the general feeeling about Denilson only two weeks ago. Just a thought. Yes, I know Song is shit.

  49. bergkamp

but gilberto was fast, his brain spotted danger before it happened, that was his speed, songs i either wearing iron boots or he has the same injury as tom rossicklist on both legs, he has 2 gears slow and stop

  50. Maciek

    Avenell!
You didn’t sound rude at all, and I understand all. I’m not a glory hunter, I support Arsenal soince 1998 and I will be doing it till I die. But one thing conceernes me. If we fail to deliver, can You honestly expect our players to stay loyal? Henry, Bergy, Wright, Pires, Vieira were loyal, but now…………………..I don’t know. Look at Adebayor- he disgust me. He says he will stay and 2 minutes later, he tells everyone that maybe he will be off to Milan. He wears an Arsenal shirt, but I don’t think that he should be allowed to do it. Another example is Song- it’s 86 minute on the clock and he is laughing on the pitch.Result-we end up 4:4 against spurs. All I want to say is that many of our players are very fortunate to be playing here and they don’t respect our CLUB and us- supporters.

  51. Rasputin

I agree with Geoff that if the players are fluid in their movement and work hard for one another, we don’t need a DM as defined by most. Ramsey loves to go forward and is creative and it could restrict him if he was asked to play behind Cesc. They both like to drop back and collect the ball from the back four and orchestrate attacks from the middle of the park. Can we have two players that do that – I don’t know, its all down to the understanding that develops between them

  52. bergkamp

but song is definantly better than liverpools best young player plesis, what the hell is wrong with that guy,4-1 down and sitting ten yards infront of the defence,15 yards if he was feeling adventurous

  53. bergkamp

the thing is denilson god bless him he strolls back an doesnt have any intention of makin a challenge of any impact, between cesc an the Ram that is a top attacking/creative midfielder and a gareth barry combined,as long as they can come to an agreed percentage that fab will be the main instigator of all trouble up the top end of the pitch

  54. peachesgooner

London – thats true but Gilberto came to us with bags of experience and knew how to read the game. He was brilliant at breaking up attacks but would often then lose the ball. Song appears to be such a happy soul that I’m not sure I trust his concentration levels – saying that he did have a good game the other night.

  55. Rasputin

London – one of the lessons we should have learnt from the Flamini debacle is that a player can surprise you and develop beyond expectation – so maybe that could be true of Song, but his physical attributes are different and he doesn’t have the speed or the ‘engine’ that Flamini had. The other lesson is don’t let a valued player leave on a free!

  56. bergkamp

the thing about song is he just needs to show some urgency,or some hapiness,i think the stick he too after the fulham game a couple years ago has messed with his head,he was a midfield general wherever else he has played

  57. London

    Rasputin

Well if it is a choice between Song and Ramsey then the latter is going to win every time but not this season. The idea that we don’t need a DM as everyone talks about is valid, but not in all games. To win the title we are going to have to beat Chelsea and in that game we are going to need a DM more than ever.

  58. Maciek

There are strong rumors in Polish press that Abramovich wants to end his relationship and adventure with Chelsea and that he will invest in Polish champions- Wisla Krakow.
    We will see.

  59. avenell

Maciek. Thanks I wouldn’t say some of the players you listed were loyal, but I agree on Adebayor.
You never answered why you would never watch a game at the Emirates..
If there is a problem I don’t mind I was just curious?

  60. London

Song was dire in that Fulham game and deserved all the stick he got but players progress and yet again I point to Denilson who only two weeks ago we were calling for his head.

  61. bergkamp

yeah but rasputin flamini would have gone to birmingham for a million quid if diaby hadnt got injured just before the start of last season, and they should have known what was happening in january when he said he wanted to wait till the end of the seaon before discussing a deal, they should have played diara…BUT…we was winning at the time

  62. bergkamp

anyway i think edelman resigned (in other terms was sacked) because of the whole flamini situation,it was his job but he was tryin to save pennys

  63. bergkamp

haha london, henry was a statue and rvp was only interested in scoring goal of the season, song looked bad because he was the only one putting in work

  64. Rasputin

London – you may be right. IMO we play our best when we don’t adopt a defensive approach and having a player sitting in front of the back four instead of linking with the attacking midfielders/strikers takes away some of our potency.

We beat the better teams because they want to play football against us and we can hit them on the break as well as with the patient passing football that leads to the ‘perfect goal’. Lesser teams have beaten us because they sit back and in our increasing frustration commit to attack and they hit us on the break or show our fragility from set pieces.

  65. London

Bergkamp, do you really think that Edelman really had that kind of authority? I thought his job was to make sure the catering and the programmes got sold.

  66. bergkamp

see but flamini used to attack, but he used to creep up unmarked into the attack,it was clever play, you gotta be patient, cant just go missing every 5 minutes from your defensive duties, but ram could play that role!

  67. peachesgooner

Its so bizarre IMO to have teams hit us on the break and score against us – its feels all wrong, very immature

  68. bergkamp

edelman was incharge of contract negotiations,he was doing dave deins job kind of,but he was a money man,his job is to make the club money, not spend it,and those two jobs didnt mix,so in city terms,he left the post(sacked) he didnt wanna offer matt a contract on improved terms when he could continue paying him half the money for another 6 months,i dont think edelman thought a milan would come knockin mathews door

  69. bergkamp

kolo’s ass has grown massive, this happens in africa sometimes when you get to kolo’s age,it happened to my wife,he needs to sort it out,he looks like he’d have trouble putting the breaks on in a high speed ball chase, wenger needs to get hard and show kolo the iron fist soon

  70. London

I have had a running battle with Geoff over Flamini for three months now. I have come to the conclusion that although Flamini was determined to leave the club could have and shoild have done more.

  71. peachesgooner

Rasp – no I don’t deny its happening its just so unwengerball – we played for years hitting everyone else on the break and now can’t defend for toffees we’re getting caught out

  72. Rasputin

    London,

Yes it’s true – all of a sudden with Denilson’s epic game against the mancs and Ramsey and Wilshire continuing to impress, we seem to have many more options. You can’t get away from the fact that young players need games at the highest level to turn potential into performance.

  73. bergkamp

the thing is we have to start shooting more sometimes instead of committing everyone forward in frustration, take your early chances or shoot more is the only way to stop us overcommiting men forward and being hit on the break, plus when we defend corners why not leave theo on the halfway line that would scare the shyt out of me if i was a rival manager

  74. peachesgooner

London – I’m holding my breath on Denilson, I think he could be fabulous, he certainly was fabulous against fener and man u but he could have a mare on saturday and then everyone will be calling for his head again.

    How fickle are we?

  75. bergkamp

no disrespect to denilson in the man utd game but if rooney put away that first easy changce instead of blazing it over it could have been a shyt day for us,denilson strolled along behind berbatov an clichy was forced to close him down leaving ronaldo free to lay it off to the granny lover, berbatov was walking an denilson was just walking behind him like a fish, but if united beat us we’d be all over denilson like his name was song cygan or mcgoldrick

  76. Rasputin

Christ bergie – give me something to argue with!

The kids had arguably 5 players who could score from outside the box – Merida, Ramsey, LJW, Vela and Simpson (maybe more) I thought Merida was going to take the free kick because he has a wicked left foot, but Ramsey hit a beaut instead.

In the first team, only RVP and maybe Cesc can score from outside the box – its certainly not one of ade’s talents.

  77. peachesgooner

OOOH bergkamp – Rasputin is gonna love you for that comment – hes been saying that for weeks!!!!

Rasp – did you say earlier you and berg had been separated at birth

  78. London

We, and I certainly include myself, are very fickle. I was calling for Denilson’s head only two weeks ago but he was extremely good against the mancs, by Christmas it could be all hail the new and improved Flamini.

  79. bergkamp

im not a vulture, wenger picks the team,if cesc was injured id hope for denilson to sit in his spot, but for me this cesc denislon system isnt good, even though we beat man utd that game should have been 5-5

  80. Maciek

    It’s ok Avenell.
Maybe it’s just my imagination, maybe I’m not brave enough. Fact is- at the moment I’m just unable to do it. I graduated from univerity and right now I’m looking for a job. And trust me- here in Poland is really hard to find something which can give You some more money. But I’m still young. It’s really difficult period of my life, the most complicated. I fell that I will never be doing all the things I always wanted to do. I really love Arsenal( maybe I sound stupid) but I just can’t see how I could use my feeling towards our Club. I would love to move abroad and be able to attending to many games, but right now I must stay here, find a job and earn some mone to help my family and to help myself. Besides I think that any ticket can be out of my reach, and I’ve heard that there is HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE queue to the Emirates matches ( 5 years to be able to watch Arsenal from the stands). Well-thanks Arsene(hehehehehehehehehe).
    BEST WISHES AVENELL!!

  81. bergkamp

oh denilson, well i like denilson, but you can see he dont want to defend,he isnt good at defending,he was picked up for it on mach of the day even a week earlier then did it again a week later,i mean shyt if match of the day make a good point for once you think the kid would say damn il not be that sloppy again next week, espeially against man utd

  82. Pedro

Maciek… Le Exchange could sort you out a good deal on a ticket… don’t you worry about that!

Guys, are you slagging Kolo of for having ‘junk in his trunk’?

    LMAO!

  83. bergkamp

kolo needs to put down eboues box of cadburys roses and start smoking with gallas instead,he looks heavy and out of shape, also short of confidence a bit he needs a couple clean sheets on the trot to perk him up

  84. peachesgooner

Denilson can score from outside the box and he is the player in the first team most likely to have a shot. . . . . . . other than Clichy who also fancies his chances . . . . . . . shame

  85. Rasputin

Bergie – of course Theo should be on the halfway line when we concede corners – he’d tie up two defenders and probably stop the midfielders from pressing too high. He doesn’t usually get his head on corners and loves to run at players and would cream anybody for pace.

  86. Pedro

On the Denilson debate… I’m undecided.

If we continue with a 4-5-1… maybe the debate is over. In a 4-4-2 against Stoke… I still doubt his strength and ability to deal with the thugs of the game.

  87. Pedro

Bergkamp… I think he just has a lot of muscle… African guys don’t need much encouragement to turn into beasts do they?

Look at how quickly Ade has bulked? There is no way he is fat!

  88. bergkamp

some of denilsons shots are just gifts to oposition goal keepers,if your gonna shoot at least shoot like a man who looks like he practiced it during the week, thats the biggest complaint i have of our players, rossicky used to have a shot that could kill someone in the crowd but after 2 months at arsenal he swapped that for the usual quick pass along the edge of the box, maybe thats why his leg went on strike

  89. avenell

Maciek … If you can get your ass over here in any way, I will buy you a ticket (if Geoff/ Pedro can supply one) that’s a promise and you hold me to it….

Cheapish seats let’s not go too mad.. :)

  90. Rasputin

peaches – denilson can score from outside the box, but I still contend that we had more players amongst the kids who posed a threat from distance. What I particularly like about Ramsey and LJW is that they tend to keep their shots down and on target. At the moment, the first team players seem to send it flying over the bar or off target when they have a long shot and its usually an act of desperation.

  91. bergkamp

i cant imagine kolo to be anywhere else but arsenal,i just hope he can oneday organise this defence or have a partner that will tell him and organise him better!

  92. peachesgooner

Rasp – i definitely agree with you that were more players in the kids team that would and could have a go and score from outside the box.

Denilson always has a shot, almost every game – its worth a go, we all say that don’t we?

  93. Pedro

Avenell, that is a nice offer… diamond seats are only £800! Just kidding…

Bergkamp… are you forgetting that rocket Denilson scored against Newcastle last year?

We don’t need to be too concerned about that aspect of his game… Mak was one of the best and he could barely shoot in the right direction!

  94. bergkamp

lol that rocket last year,no but theres no excuse for a pro to hit these rolling back passes, sometimes just hitting the ball towards the goal is the best way, frank lampard score 100 league goals,99 of them deflected, just shoot at the target is the key

avenell – I’ll buy Maciek a hotdog and a programme!

Who else is going to contribute to the Get Maciek to the Emirates’ fund – surely Geoff can afford his airfare ;)

  96. peachesgooner

Pedro – if our strikers aren’t going to be scoring?????? then we have to get the goals from somewhere.

Wasn’t Gilberto our top scorer for a while at the beginning of the season a couple of years ago?

  97. Pedro

What are you talking about Avenell!

Geoff will buy him a free beer at half time in club level!

Peaches, we’re getting goals from all over this year… look in the side bar!

  99. bergkamp

we just gotta cut down on the silly set pieces we give away easily, prevent giving as many corners away an we will concede less, not many teams play through us and score

  100. Maciek

    Thanks Guys!!
I will really think about it when I sort out my situation here in Poland. Someone here( Choy, probably) said about this blog being the best Arsenal blog in the universe. Well, that’s true. Is unbelievable, that I was able to met all off You and share with You my opinions. It’s really great and I will never forget it. Well, I got tears in my eyes. Thanks once more for all Your hard work and kindness.
Best wishes to all of You!!!!

NIGHTY NIGHT to all of You!

  101. Pedroc

Sorry Peaches, I thought you were asking where the goals would come from!

Avenell, I reckon a few of you lot have a few pennies stashed under the mattress!

I get a lot of e-mails from Directors, business owners and consultants… nice job titles don’t come with poorly paid jobs!

  102. bergkamp

i just saw an article online comparing our young players to man utds, how comes they can add rooney nani ronaldo and anderson into their team like those are new young talents and ours dont incluse theo or cesc?? or denilson

  103. Rasputin

One thing’s for sure, Ade wouldn’t have had the technique and RVP not the composure to chip the goalkeeper like Vela did on tuesday – and didn’t you just love his goal celebration!

Someone will now tell me he missed a one-on-one with the goalkeeper in the first half…..

  104. Pedro

Right everyone, I am off to bed!

Children in need day tomorrow… and I believe we have a Gooner in need of our support for something… Geoff will let you know more tomorrow morning!

Have a great night / day!
